1Secret Beach Boat Shuttle

Ferry service
The Secret Beach Boat Shuttle is a convenient way to reach the stunning and secluded Secret Beach, which is often described as the most beautiful beach on the island. Located approximately 15 minutes north of the bridge, this hidden gem can be accessed via a long and bumpy dirt road. For more information on how to get there, check out posts about Secret Beach.
The shuttle to Secret Beach was first class, they went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed the trip over and when we got there they made sure we had premier service. Our waiter was overly attentive and made sure we had everything we wanted. Thank you Secret Beach Boat Shuttle for an amazing day in the water!

While there everyone said taking a golf cart was a bummer. Don’t drive your golf cart the roads are rough and long. Using the boat transport was relaxing and quick! Plus along San Pedro River, we got to see orange iguanas in the mango trees and a 10 ft 🐊 croc!! We also did their tranquility beach trip to snorkel the closest beach to the barrier reef. This is a quiet remote beach with beautiful long soft white sand. The snorkeling was the best unguided in Belize, which mattered to us as the guided tours to Hol Chan and Mexico Rocks rush you and are crowded. There are 2 restaurants there.

After hearing horror stories of the trip to Secret Beach via golf cart, our resort arranged for us to take this boat service to the beach last minute. They were very accommodating and added an extra trip for us. The captain and tour guide were full of knowledge of the area and fun to talk to. We saw wildlife along our travels and enjoyed a beautiful boat ride around the island. They are very punctual as well. I highly recommend this service.
Marianne W — Google review
We were able to work out an off-schedule private trip to Secret Beach with the team. Danny at the office was very helpful in setting it up and Shakil (sp?) and Edwin who took us over and back were awesome. Why take a 50+ min miserable drive when you can take a beautiful trip over by water in less than 30 minutes?
Tae K — Google review
We enjoyed our boat shuttle to Secret Beach. The crew was super attentive and friendly and made sure we were well taken care of, once we arrived on the island. We were even greeted with welcome drinks, which was a nice surprise. The crew even pointed out local wildlife on the way to the beach and gave us a brief history of Belize. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. You won’t regret booking with this company!
Adaria M — Google review
This is by far the best way to get to secret beach. It was extremely quick. Extremely easy. Very well priced. And enjoyable too since we got to see iguanas, crocodiles, and cool birds on the way too. Edwin, Shaquille, Danny, and Jerry were super nice, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the island. I would not even consider driving there by golf cart as long as this option is available to you.
Maxwell G — Google review
This service is FANTASTIC! Fast, easy, inexpensive, gorgeous ride out to Secret Beach on a boat! We loved that we didn't have to take a long and very bumpy golf cart ride out to Secret Beach and back. We cannot say enough good things about this. Boating out to Secret Beach is the way to go!
Patrice S — Google review
After hearing many complaints about the drive to Secret Beach, my husband and I were delighted to find a boat shuttle. It was a very fun & interesting ride on the river to the west. Saw huge iguanas! Service was great. Boat arrived and departed on time. I highly recommend.

2Belize Chocolate Company

Chocolate cafe
Chocolate shop
Belize Chocolate Company is a charming beachside boutique and cafe that offers a delightful array of artisanal chocolates made from locally grown cocoa. The shop features an assortment of flavors, including chili and sea salt, showcasing the premium quality and rich flavors of Belizean chocolate. Visitors can indulge in dark, milk, and white chocolate drinks and treats while experiencing the chocolate-making process.
Since I had a lite lunch in the neighborhood, it was time to walk to the Belize Chocolate Company. There are many items and drinks that are chocolate. In the back of the small store, there was a small chocolate making class that was in session. I tried two of their truffles with dark chocolate and they were heavenly. Then it was time to do some shopping to bring home. It had to be dark chocolate bars. Buy 3 and get one free. So I went with the #5 (87% Dark) and the Art Bar (70% Dark). The latter highlighting local Belizean artists. So a total of 8 bars to bring home. Both of these bars were exquisite, with a serious depth and range of cocoa taste. Clearly, in a unique chocolate class of its own.
Peter M — Google review
I took a chocolate-making class here and it was so fun! They had already filled out the reservation for the day but we were leaving the following day and really wanted to do this so they fit us in. It was such a fun and unique experience for only $15/pp. We got to learn the entire process and tried the products along the way. Highly recommend if you’re in San Pedro.

A little chocolate oasis in the middle of San Pedro. There are free samples of dark, milk, and white chocolate. They also provided us with other samples as well. They offer a chocolate making class for the adventurous.

Chocolate chip cookies are absolute worth dying for nothing like any chocolate chip cookie you’ve never had! delicious like natural chocolate undertones you have to experience! Also had the tea it was different and refreshing… my friend had a ice cappuccinos that every sip was “light”

Such a cute class! 🫶🏽 Enjoyed every second of it! 5-6 min drive from The Alaia Hotel. Great 1 hour activity to do during the day.

“It was love at first bite!” Killer chocolate! Small little shop with great chocolate goodies! I go to this shop everyday to get some of their brownies. Delicious to say the least! They have a good amount of items that you can purchase at the store or online. They have really chocolaty cheese cakes that are superior to most any others that I can think of eating over the years. They have a good assortment of chocolates to choose from and cookies, too! Coffee drinks and chocolate shakes, also. They have a demonstration on how they made the first hot chocolate drink all those centuries ago! If you have the time, I’d recommend going to the presentation. I love this place. You can order their brownie mix and Hot Chocolate mix online and they will ship it to your doorstep. I highly recommend the chocolate company to everyone! Especially those who love chocolate!
Tim P — Google review
CHOCOLATE CLASS- Small group ~8 people, explained history of Mayan use of cacao using high quality video, tastings of cocao shell, nibs, powder, butter, white/dark/milk chocolate. Lots of explanation and time for questions throughout. Session lasted about an hour which was enough and felt good value for money. COST- 15$, booked online in advance WHO WE'D RECOMMEND FOR- we are a British tourist couple aged 25-30, this activity would be great for any chocolate lovers, any ages and a good activity for families. OVERALL- Good experience, great value for money, enjoyed the tastings and learned a lot TOP TIP- Class is very popular and sells out, book ahead of time

Little chocolate shop. They have small samples of white, milk and dark chocolate for you to try. Also have drinks and desserts but didn't try since had just before. Got a brownie mix for my nieces, a few bars for gifts and a bag of cacao tea. They have some souvenirs like shirts, bags, and postcards to color for kids.

Bar & grill
Live music venue
Palapa Bar and Grill is a popular spot in San Pedro, Belize, known for its great bar food and as a fun hangout right on the water on a pier. It's recommended to visit for lunch or dinner, but mid-day is ideal to enjoy the tubes in the water and cool off in the tropical weather. The daily happy hour from 4-6 offers great deals, but be cautious with the local vodka.
This is a super cool location with a great vibe! The food and drinks are very tasty, and everything is reasonably priced. The service was good, and everyone was very friendly and attentive! As you walk in, you are greeted by a thatched-roof building with sea birds flying around waiting for their catch of the day. The back side of the pier has outdoor seating, lounge chairs, and even inner tubes in which you can float and have your cocktails!
Dan R — Google review
WHAT'S THERE?- wooden boardwalk out to a thatched roof bar with light up palm trees, large wooden structure bar area with views out to sea, decking area with laid back chairs, steps down into the sea with rubber rings attached to string. They have happy hour and live music. Good atmosphere and relatively busy. Live music was average at best. TOP TIP- go at happy hour - 4BZD for rum and mixer. Not a place for sunset as it's east facing.
Andrew M — Google review
This was our first stop upon arrival, we had seen several reviews about how fabulous it was, so we had to see for ourselves. It was good, it wasn't great. The service was good. The food was good, the atmosphere was great. They had live music and of course the view. The view was indeed fabulous. We had nachos, again they were good but nothing special. The drinks were generous and overall we enjoyed it but we have been several places since that we enjoyed more...Charmaine's and Wayo's to drop a couple of names ;) - Global Vagabond

Fun, chill bar & grill OVER the water in San Pedro. Servers were super friendly - ask them about the “shot pole”. They encouraged us to write on the tables. There was live music while we were there. And then we went for a swim off their dock and floated on tubes for a while.
Kevin C — Google review
I only rated food a 3 because I personally didn't try it. From what I saw from couples to large parties they loved it. The staff was amazing and gave me some great recommendations for things to do around town. Live music was good and the location over the water was the coolest place to hangout on hot days
Allan C — Google review
As good as it gets!! Great Food & Service—pricing was reasonable — beauty location— check out the artisans work on the boardwalk— very nice stuff!
Stephen Y — Google review
Fun bar over the water with a fun place to float if you want to cool off. They even have a zip line to deliver and hang a bucket of beer over you while you float. Genius!
Adele U — Google review
The location is absolute perfection! The views are endless, the energy inside is infectious, the food is very tasty, and the beers are cold! We came here twice during our week-long stay, as it's just a very cool place to hang, and the vibe is perfectly island. You need to come here.

El Fogon Restaurant in Belize is a top choice for those seeking authentic local cuisine on a budget. The restaurant offers a calm atmosphere and serves up delicious, traditional Belizean dishes cooked over an open fire. With a rich menu featuring seafood, meats, and stews infused with vibrant local spices, El Fogon showcases the country's culinary traditions.
Wonderful restaurant in Ambergris and most certainly a taste of the Caribbean with a local flare. The food was amazing, when we travel back to the island we will for sure be coming back. The fried lobster looked absolutely amazing, though none of us tried it. We had a large group and got lots of variations of different dishes. The cocktails were great! If you have a large group- make reservations.
Alex K — Google review
Delicious food. Made the drive from Secret Beach into town for this restaurant after it was highly recommended. The coconut curry was delectable. Definitely worth the golf cart ride.
Priscilla R — Google review
Unreal food staff and atmosphere! 5 stars across all platforms. We had the shrimp and catch of the day (red snapper) and wow! So so good. Would really recommend this place and also, not too touristy.
Izzy W — Google review
Yum yum yummmmm! The citrus lime shrimp with coconut rice was phenomenal and so fresh. Dad had the 4 tacos, 2 shrimp and 2 lobster and he ate it all! The food was fresh, a lot of it and the service was amazing. We had Mr. Juan who welcomed and served us with kindness and a smile. The restaurant is decorated nicely with lots of seating. Their bartender was hopping so they must make good drinks too! I highly encourage you to come and enjoy a delicious meal with great service

Absolutely amazing vegetarian food!!! Such nice people serving, very flexible with order. Excellent fresh vegetables, fresh chilies, and ginger based drinks!! Would come here every day if I could!!

Have you ever been to a restaurant so good you forget to take pictures of the food. This is El Fogon. The conch soup - amazing. This is a local gem. You know it’s really good when you go inside and the place is packed with locals on a weeknight. A must on your trip to the island.
Todd M — Google review
If you conduct a search or ask the locals for restaurant recommendations, El Fogon, is one name that often comes up. It is a unique place where everything is cooked on a wood fire and was already on my list. So, on my second day in Ambergris Caye, I headed there for lunch. I had gone diving in the morning, was still exhilarated by the amazing underwater experience, and therefore with a minimal appetite. Just desired a small bite, so that I had a good hunger when it was dinner time. El Fogon is a small restaurant, that is elegantly appointed, with superb music (merengue, when I was there) and a friendly staff. They had exactly what I was looking for, something to give me a taste of the island. From the starter menu, the Belizean Platter (A selection of Belize's Favorite appetizers. 1 piece of each: salbute, empanada, conch fritter, bean dip). Every item was well prepared to highlight distinct flavors, textures and taste. What was my favorite? Hands down the salbute. A wonderful midday dining experience. Service was excellent.
Peter M — Google review
El Fogon is a consistently excellent dining experience! Every dish we have been served has been exemplary. They are our go-to when we catch fish on a tour - bring them the filets and they will prepare them as you wish, with sides. We had family in town last week and visited El Fogon again - Rita was our server and she prompted me to write this review. There are a lot of servers that go through the motions here - not Rita! She had a sincere smile the entire meal, checked on us when drinks were low, and overall, was a breath of fresh air! She was warm and welcoming. When you want an authentic, high-quality Belizean meal and great service, in a "date night" atmosphere (not loud and super-bright dining room), El Fogon is the restaurant to visit!

When visiting San Pedro, Belize, take a break from the hustle and bustle and unwind at the tranquil San Pedro Hotel. For those seeking adventure off the beaten path, a boat ride to Bacalar Chico National Park & Marine Reserve is a must. Situated on the remote northern side of Ambergris Caye, this UNESCO World Heritage Site spans over 60 miles from Mexico's Bay of Chetumal. It offers an opportunity to immerse in nature and explore its pristine beauty.
Laughing Bird Caye National Park in Belize is a quiet and relaxing paradise. The only sounds are the soothing ocean waves, creating a peaceful atmosphere. Watching wild pelicans dive for fish feels like a live National Geographic movie. It’s an amazing spot for snorkeling, where you can see colorful fish, harmless sharks, crabs, and even stunningly large lobsters. A truly unforgettable experience for nature lovers!

What began as a humble takeout window has evolved into a celebrated restaurant known for its delectable seafood and authentic Mayan cuisine. Despite its popularity, the restaurant maintains the inviting ambiance of a family-owned business.
Amazing place. Took my fiancée to dinner for her birthday. The food was delicious. Was very late for our reservation but we were able to sit in the bar until a table opened up. I appreciate them for accommodating us. Would definitely go again!

If you are an aficionado of flavorful cuisine, THIS. Is. It! - The food here is amazing, the service is impeccable and I can’t wait to go back. Must have items are the conch fritters, sautéed coconut shrimp, signature curry and whole fish. This is so worth it.

Delicious food - especially the traditional Mayan curry with fish. The service was excellent. The vibe was lovely with a saxophone player. Everything was wonderful! It was a tad on the pricey side but for what you get it’s worth it. Thank you!

The best meal I’ve ever had in my life. Went back twice in a row. The special tonight - aged wahoo was incredible. Whole snapper was incredible. Octopus, calamari, crab claws, grouper fillet. All highly recommend! Darwin was our server & he is just the best.

One of the best meals I have ever eaten! Started with stone crab claws in garlic butter, which were divine. The margaritas were cool and went down way too easy. For entrees we had Jennie’s signature curry with fish and black bean sauce with fish. The curry was so good I almost licked the bowl clean! The black bean sauce with sublime! Ate so much did not have room for dessert but I imagine it would be magical as well. Absolutely awesome place for a perfect meal!

I ordered the blackened grouper and it was excellent. Fresh, flaky, and seasoned with just the right amount of spice. It had depth without being heavy, and it paired really well with the potato salad. Good atmosphere and a place I’d definitely come back to for seafood.

Hol Chan Marine Reserve, located in Belize, is a popular destination for snorkelers and divers alike. It is the oldest marine reserve in Belize and offers exceptional snorkeling opportunities with its four different zones: The Reef, The Seagrass Beds, The Mangroves, and Shark Ray Alley. Visitors can explore diverse marine habitats filled with corals, sponges, seagrasses, and mangrove trees that are home to vibrant fish, turtles, stingrays, and nurse sharks.
This was my first time ever going snorkeling, and though it was a little scary at first, once you get the hang of it it was such a beautiful experience being under the water and just seeing all that coral in the wildlife swimming around. Highly recommend doing it at least once while you’re visiting the reserve.

Swimming with Belize 1 Shark, Episode 1 | We turned around this time Belize's Hall Chan Marine Reserve - the second largest coral wall in the world, which only comes after the Great Barrier Reef of Australia! In the midst of huge blue waters, this wonderful empire of the coral is like a dream of a water! But the most specially and adventure moment on this trip was snorkeling with the sharks! Yes, true! I saw under the water, I saw 3-5 sharks roaming around! Some of them came so close that it seemed, it would be possible to get caught by raising your hand! At first, even though a little scared, I realized they were quiet. Not just the shark, there was an extraordinary sea world around! Small fish of different colors are swimming, playing hide and seek in colorful corals! Great C Turtle is moving slowly somewhere, and somewhere in the coral gap, bright blue, yellow, orange fish are playing. Biodiversity is so rich under the water that wherever I keep my eyes, something is worth seeing! There is no empty space for a moment, something new is always visible! However, it was very current in the water, swimming in the stream was not easy at all! Nevertheless, this unique experience, swimming with the sharks and seeing this wonderful world below the water - it's really a Lifetime Experience! This experience of Beliz will be forever memorable in our travel diary! 🌊🦈🐢✨ Date: Jan 2025 Place: Belize 🇧🇿

TAKE THE TRIP! It’s so worth it!!! We did a private charter boat through Xsite but they have shared boat charters available and they are small groups so it could possibly feel semi private. We saw an eel, lobster, 4 sea turtles, lots of sharks, barracudas, starfish, huge permit fish, sting rays (2 types) , schools of different fish and more! It was amazing experience especially for my 7 year old. A guide at Xsite on the boat taught her how to snorkel 🥰

Estel's is a great place to get some good Belizean food such as the Fry Jack, which is a traditional dish. They also have outdoor seating and serve alcohol. The restaurant is located on the beach in San Pedro.
Just absolutely loved Estel’s! It’s a small seaside cafe. It opens early so you can grab a bite to eat before you head out on your days adventure! It does not have a lot of seating so if you’re going out on the water you need to get there early! As it is close to my hotel, I go there often for breakfast. The food is delicious! We had many different meals over the years. All good. The fruit was fresh cut daily. Egg meals were tasty and cooked well! The Mayan Breakfast is a favorite or you can mix and match to your choice. I’ve never eaten lunch or dinner here so I won’t speak to those meals. I would suggest to all, try out Estel’s! Especially for an early breakfast and watch the sunrise!

“Perfect breakfast spot with island vibes and ocean views.” Had an awesome breakfast here by the water in San Pedro. The fry jacks were fluffy and delicious — easily one of the best I’ve had on the island. The French toast was solid too, with just the right amount of sweetness. Service was super friendly and welcoming. It did take them a little while to circle back to our table, but honestly… it’s island time, no rush when you’ve got a view like that. The ocean breeze, clear water, and relaxed vibe made it the perfect start to the day. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in San Pedro — grab a table by the water and soak it all in.

Lovely by the sea dining with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great breakfast options to savor while sitting under a personal thatched roof with delicious coffee and good attendants. There’s afternoon grilled dishes that are also a great treat.

First and foremost, it’s hot and this is an open air restaurant. Now, I am going to tell you about this gem. My family had breakfast here at the recommendation of the hotel staff. We absolutely loved the waitstaff. They were very helpful in selecting the food. There is an eclectic island feel to this restaurant. It is located right on the water with covered seating waterside.
Branden M — Google review
On my first day in Ambergris Caye, I woke up pretty early and was looking for a place for breakfast. Estel’s Dine by the Sea, was opening at 6 am. The Mayan Gods had listened to my prayer. I ended up there around 7 am, to be in the midst of a spectacular location. Smack on the beach, excellent seating, with commanding views of the Caribbean Sea and the world’s second largest barrier reef. There was a constant sea breeze, and an intoxicating fragrance of the environment. The restaurant is in downtown San Pedro, still family owned. The beautiful, elegant, charming and eponymous Estel was on hand. It was a pleasure to meet and also have conversation, with both her and her handsome son, who helps run the restaurant. Lovely people. I don’t know about you, but when I travel to any destination, when it is meal time, it has to be local. That is why I came here and that is what I ordered. Estel’s Special Mayan Eggs (Scrambled eggs, grilled onions, tomatoes, peppers, and cilantro served with a choice of meat (for me it was shrimp), beans and Fry Jacks. There are many good things to say about my breakfast plate. Let me start in reverse order. In Belize, everyone desires Fry Jacks, but how Estel’s prepares them are something that you will always remember. A fluffy, soft, fresh and deep fried dough concoction that could have been eaten just on its own, for breakfast. Forget everything else. I must confess, that the texture, flavor and chew of Fry Jacks are very similar, if not identical to the circular Indian Fluffy deep fried bread, called Bhatura. It is also very close in taste to its Indian cousin, the deep fried but smaller circular and puffy bread, called the Poori. While the Jacks are the crown jewel in these settings, the rest of the ingredients on the dish, should not be forgotten because they were superbly prepared. Soft and delicious scrambled eggs and the beans. Really liked the accompaniment of Jam too. And what about the music and the service? All my (and your) favorite oldie tunes played in beautiful harmony. Fantastic. Service was friendly, attentive and exceptional. Thank you, Estel, for your warm hospitality and an unforgettable first morning, in Ambergris Caye.

It was our last day in San Pedro and we wanted to catch the 8am ferry back to MX, it was between 6-7am and nothing was open for breakfast. We ran into a local who said to try Estel's, they were open. We were immediately greeted and sat, they just opened. We sat inside but still had a beautiful view of the ocean. We ordered the Mayan eggs special that come with Fry Jacks. OMG! The eggs were delicious with all kinds of flavors. The Fry Jacks OMG, what are those amazing little breads. So light and fluffy inside, I could not stop eating them. If it hadn't been our last day I would have come back for lunch and dinner. If you visit San Pedro I highly recommend checking this place out.

Loved this place so much I came back during a rainstorm just to get more Fry Jacks! The staff was so attentive and sweet. Loved stricking up conversations with them both times. They reminded me to relax and go slow as I was rushing through breakfast worried about leaving for snorkling (totally had more than enough time) . Mike served us both times and was so delighful to talk to. He went above and beyond to serve us and he is part of why we went back twice!

Belizean Arts is an intimate gallery that has been a staple in the country for over 30 years, showcasing a diverse collection of Belizean and Caribbean art. Founded by artist Lyndsey Hackston, it boasts the largest selection of art by local artists such as Walter Castillo, Pen Cayetano, Nelson Young, Leo Vasquez, and Rene Guerra. The gallery also offers ceramics, jewelry, and other crafts for visitors to explore.
Beautiful selection of art handmade in Belize by local artists. My second time visiting (the two visits multiple years apart) and it was just as good as I remembered. A must visit while in San Pedro.

I’m interested in purchasing art from the gallery, however Lindsey must be very busy because she has not responded to several emails. I was going to leave one star, but she has been consistently vague and unavailable so two stars it is.

This art store has a lot of nice local art. In addition to paintings they also carry wood carvings, stone lamps and quite a few other items.

While i was in belize i Stopped by at this place just out of curiosity. Lots of amazing art from local artists. The gal in the shop was really nice and helpful. There were some amazing paintings that I wish I could have brought home with me. I didn't take pictures since there are signs saying "no pictures". If in the area and even if you are not an art enthusiast, stop by, it is worthwhile. They have a second location a few steps from this one.

This store is truly a gem! There are many very nice paintings, wood pieces, ornaments, jewelry and t-shirts at this at store. All of the pieces are Belizean and there are many choices. The owner is very gracious and can ship your pieces, but I will say that if you purchase a painting on canvas, they can take it off the stretchers, roll it and then take it into a length of PVC pipe that travels very well in a suitcase if it will fit. You enter the store off of the covered courtyard where the is a bar just off of Barrier Reef Drive. If you like art and you are on Ambergris Caye, this is a must stop.

The Gallery of San Pedro is a family-run business in the unique town of San Pedro, Belize. They offer a wide selection of beautiful and high-quality local art and products, including paintings and Giclees. Visitors can also find locally made items like fresh coconut oil and baked goods. The gallery provides excellent customer service, with Jerry being particularly helpful to customers. Additionally, the location offers a pleasant shopping experience with reasonable prices for their art pieces.
We purchased two paintings from the gallery which we were very pleased with. We took these both home with us. There is a wide selection and Jerry was very helpful. Recently we purchased a place in Placencia. We ordered two large Giclees from the gallery which Jerry’s wife delivered to us after taking the ferry to Belize City. We met Georgia at the dock and everything went as planned. The artwork was well protected for our drive to Placencia. It’s been a pleasure doing business with the Gallery.they made it easy.

The store offers a wide selection of high-quality Cuban, Belizean, and other cigars as well as freshly roasted coffee every morning. Visitors can also enjoy rum tastings and explore the humidor filled with Cuban and Belizean cigars.
Saul and his family are just wonderful! Great selection of high-quality cigars. He makes the Belizean ones in house! Also try their fresh made liqueurs- the coffee one is so good!

My family visited during a food tour and Saul went above and beyond! Not only were we able to try the delicious rum and learn about the making and producing of cigars, but Saul even performed a song with his turtle shell percussion set! We had a great time and made sure to grab some coffee the next morning on our way back home. Thank you, Saul!

Saul and Luis are amazing!! The cigars are hand rolled and awesome. This is a must visit. Put this on your list!! You will not be disappointed. We were here celebrating my birthday! I’m so excited to come across this gem!! Saul, thank you for the tasting. It made the experience even more remarkable!! As you can see…. It was enjoyed until the very end!!😍

This was a very exceptional cigar lounge. They have a huge selection of cigars from Nicaraguan leaves to Honduras, Ecuador and Veracruz. I love the history of the hand carved wood that tells the mayan culture story. Saul and his entire team were so nice and very attentive. They took the time out to share the rich history of the cigar lounge. We got a chance to taste the amazing rum cream that Saul makes fresh daily!! They have coffee rum cream, chocolate rum cream and coconut rum team that you can drink with your coffee and they all pair well with a nice cigar. I was sold after tasting the coconut rum cream. It will pair well with the Indonesian leaf cigars that I purchased. Thank you Saul! I will visit again.

This is a really cool spot. My husband wanted to grab a special cigar before our trip ended and we popped in here. The owner is very nice and knowledgeable and helped my husband pick out some very nice cigars. Inside the shop is a wonderful coffee house where they make their own " Kahlua" type liqueur. it was very tasty and we took home a bottle from their fresh batch. Everything was packaged beautifully and arrived back home after the trip in perfect condition.
Katie Z — Google review
After trying many cigars in Belize over many visits, I had given up on finding legitimate, good cigars, but read some reviews and thought I'd give Saul's a try. It did not disappoint. I had one of their locally made cigars, a Maduro, and found it to be top notch. They were knowledgeable and helpful in selecting a cigar I would like. We smoked it there, while trying their original rum creams sampling, then had one of those with espresso, followed up with a great central American rum (Nicaraguan?). Service was outstanding throughout. Plan to head back again tomorrow and any future trips.

They provide exceptional service, meeting you right at the airport and ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. The ride to your destination may take about 45 minutes, but you'll enjoy cruising along at a comfortable speed on well-maintained roads.
I worked with Junior to reserve my golf cart for a week in San Pedro. Communication was quick and efficient. Junior brought over my golf cart to my hotel and was very accommodating! He gave us a quick tutorial and we were on our way! No issues at all with our carts and communication was stellar! Will definitely book with One Love again and recommend them to other visitors.

In Belize, there are a million companies that rent golf carts. I am so thankful we rented with One Love. Aside from the tips they provide ahead of booking to let people know what to look for and do to keep from being scammed or taken advantage of... they made it so easy to book. Via WhatsApp, One Love not only answered my overflowing amount of questions, they were on top of every message and respond instantly. They delivered our cart right to our hotel, picked it back up when it was convenient for us. They were so wonderful. Our golf cart was nice and clean. The price was so reasonable and we were so happy with the entire experience. I more than highly recommend One Love Golf Cart rentals. We will be a repeat customer!!!

San Pedro, a charming town in Belize, is steeped in history and culture. The island boasts historical sites like the Marco Gonzalez archeological site and provides easy access to mainland attractions such as Altun Ha and Xunantunich. At the heart of the city lies the San Pedro Artisans Market, located on Almond Street and Black Coral Street.
Looking for souvenirs that aren't the standard fare, come to the San Pedro Artisans Market. Some of the vendors take visa/mastercard, but most prefer cash. Most items are hand made and original works that you won't find in a typical gift shop. We were glad we stopped here and supported the local artists and found unique items. (If you are looking for t-shirts, cards etc. this is not the stop for you.) Would recommend a visit when in main San Pedro. From Pelican Reef resort its about a 20 minute golf cart ride.
Pamela O — Google review
Pretty good little spot for typic souvenirs. It went a lot deeper than it looks from the street. Maybe 20 or so vendors. All friendly, mostly the same stuff in each shop with a few things unique here and there. Expensive, and apparently haggling isn't a thing here. Worth a look to kill an hour.
Albert D — Google review
Cute little market place. Lots of descent souvenirs and trinkets. You can bargain a bit with them.
Rebecca H — Google review
It's okay. All of them have mostly the same tourist trinkets. I was hoping for more variety of items.

A very nice shopping experience! The ladies who sell were very sweet and welcoming. They make their own items and a few have a baby or child with them. When I told them I was looking around, they were not pushy at all. Nice way to get most of my souvenir shopping done. I will shop elsewhere to look, but have the feeling that I’ll be back to help support the local artisans.

Fly With Me - Darrel Fishing Guide offers an exceptional fishing experience in Belize. With extensive knowledge of San Pedro's fishery, Darrel is passionate about his job and works tirelessly to ensure a successful day on the water. Known for his expertise in targeting permit, he is considered one of the best permit guides globally. His ability to locate fish from great distances and his relentless pursuit of permit make him stand out as an extremely talented guide.
I have spent my adult life as a fishing guide/outfitter and been around hundreds of other fishing guides for all different kinds of species. I can say without a doubt that Darrel Smith is one of the absolute most elite guides of any species that I have ever met. He is a true expert that has spent his life on the waters of Belize and was simply born to fish. He guided me to my first permit, as well as a grand slam that day. He’s also a great guy and super fun to spend a day on the water with. Thanks Darrel! Looking forward to next time.
Trevor A — Google review
Perhaps no nickname has ever been as warranted as Darrel’s “Permit King” designation. While it may seem like it at times, I don’t think that Darrel has permit X-Ray vision or a permit-sniffing super nose… What he does offer clients is three things: First, a deep, intimate knowledge of his fishery that he has earned through a lifetime of playing in its waters as a child, then apprenticing on other skiffs, and finally running his own guide service day in and day out for nearly two decades. Second, he has a work ethic that one has to see to believe - even in less than ideal conditions, chasing tough fish, Darrel refuses to quit or give up until your rod is bent and there’s a smile on your face. And finally, Darrel is comfortable pushing his clients’ casting and general fly fishing abilities well beyond their comfort zone. Darrel believed in my abilities when I lost faith after a bad cast or an incorrect strip or hook set, and his teaching and refusal to let me give up led to success on the flats that I could only have dreamed of before my trip. Having had the privilege of fishing with some truly exceptional guides across both fresh and saltwater, as well as having compared notes with many other anglers who have visited Belize and used other guides/outfitters, I can confidently say that Darrel is one of one, unparalleled in his fishery, and I will be coming back to Belize in the future specifically to hop back in his skiff. If you’re visiting San Pedro (or considering a Belize fly fishing trip) I highly, highly recommend fishing with Darrel.
Connor F — Google review
I have had the pleasure of fishing with Darrel on 4 separate occasions now. Every time I step off his boat at the end of the day I leave amazed. The man works as hard as any one out there and his knowledge of San Pedro’s fishery is extensive. The best part of fishing with Darrel, you can tell fishing isn’t just a job for him but his passion. Especially chasing Permit. I’ll be booking with Darrel anytime I visit the island and you should too. You’ll have a great day and he will take you where the fish are!
Ryan M — Google review
Just got back from a fly fishing trip with Darrel on March 18th. Darrel is the Man!! He will put you on the fish...the rest is up to you. I had a Permit on line with the very first cast of the day, but couldn't land it. My hopes weren't very high, given this was my very first salt water fly fishing trip for Bones. I was hoping for 1 or 2 Bones, but by the end of the day, I had boated 12 Bonefish and had another 10 on line that I didn't boat for one reason or another. 20-25mph winds, with gusts at 30+, certainly presents its challenges for fly casting, but Darrel does a great job positioning the boat so your back casting into the wind and shooting the line with the wind...so work on your haul / double-haul before making the trip. Darrel has 18+ years at over 250+ days on the water each year spotting fish...trust me, he can see them when you can't! Be honest and tell him you can't see them; he will kindly point your rod tip to the fish and tell you how far to cast. Listen to him and you will boat da fish!! He communicates well with you leading up to the trip. All around great trip! If I travel back to Belize, I will absolutely fish with Darrel again!!
Loran L — Google review
I fished 2 days with Darrel targeting bonefish and permit in less than perfect conditions. His knowledge is so extensive he managed to put me on fish both days regardless. Relentless in the pursuit of permit, he made it happen on a day I didn’t think possible. Great guide!! Fun to fish with awesome to watch him work.
Scott P — Google review
Darrel got me on permit even in bad conditions. Guys will fish for days and not even get hookups- I was hooked up on my second cast. Hardest working guide I’ve gone with and he really puts the effort in. Can’t wait to fish with him again.
Steven S — Google review
First time fishing with Darrel, we double up twice on permit and I tripled for the day. He fishes the whole Caye. Permit or tarpon, the man can find and put you on fish.
Mike M — Google review
I spent two days on the flats this past spring (2022) with Darrel and my 17 year old son chasing permit. He put us on the fish and kept us there for two days providing plenty of opportunities resulting in my son's first permit. Located on Sea Grape Drive in Ambergris Caye, The Baker is a charming bake shop popular among morning commuters. Open daily at 7 am, it offers freshly baked bread, sweet treats, and a self-serve coffee station. Cinnamon rolls are a crowd favorite but tend to sell out quickly. The bakery also serves breakfast and lunch with a variety of pastries, sandwiches, and beverages available.
The Baker bakery was a spot we found on one of our excursions! We decided to go in for a treat. They have a limited menu for breakfast and lunch here. The pastries are really fresh and delicious to say the least. I would recommend The Baker to all! If you’re in the area drop in for a pastry!

The restaurant is cutely decorated. There is a spectacular mural painted on the wall. Tables and chairs are rustic wood. The service was friendly and fast. Pretty well priced for a touristy place. They do take credit cards. I tried a sample of different pastries and ALL were delicious, but the cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting drizzled on top was my favorite. They also serve breakfast croissants and paninis (which I didn't have) and smoothies, which I did get...also delicious.

My hazelnut cold brew and papaya smoothie were great! Also the banana bread fantastic not too sweet just perfect. However the empanada was dry I dk if it was supposed to be that way but it’s the flour they use in Belize it was not like a empanada I’ve tried in the past but it was okay…

Read about this place on Google and was delighted that they were opened the day after Christmas (boxing day). Got us a little treat of cinnamon roll, apple turnover, iced coffee, and pineapple mango smoothie. It was great, and we got to meet Ken, the owner. It was so good we went back for breakfast the next day, which we ordered the croissant with egg, ham, and cheese, sausage roll, Nutella croissant, pineapple lime, and mother iced coffee. The prices are by no means cheap for local standards but comparable to the prices back home.
Alan C — Google review
I don't know how anyone could actually rate this place less than 5 stars. If you were to ask me, what is good here? I would just reply 'yes'. Everything was amazing and the owner, who is Northern Irish, was such a sweet and friendly man. I won't forget our conversation about how he doesn't like to eat cream cheese but bakes the most amazing cream cheese puffs I've ever tried. Friendly staff and such a clean place. We're coming back for more in the future. We came back twice in 3 days(actually 3 times but we missed them right after they closed).

Given that our hotel was charging $25+ per person for mediocre breakfast, we ventured out to try out the Baker for breakfast and it did not disappoint. The portions are super generous, super fresh since it was made on the spot. We got the breakfast croissant, panini and apple turnover. Croissant was the favorite - very flavourful and soft. Would recommend if you’re in mood for same pastries and breakfast spot
Sandy T — Google review
LOVELY modern spot for breakfast!! Extremely nice staff, clean, and moderately priced. They DO IN FACT take credit cards, despite what other reviews have said, so a good place if you just got to San Pedro, and didn’t get to an ATM yet. Some reviews complain about the prices, but this is a tourist island… I don’t know what people are expecting… As a tourist I expect to pay more in these locations, and honestly I have no problem paying a little more to be able to use credit cards, and tip well because we like to support the small/local businesses when we travel. Saw plenty of locals and tourists here on a Saturday morning, so if you’re at a resort nearby don’t hesitate. Stuffed jacks are amazing, as is the Nutella stuffed croissant!
Courtney R — Google review
There's nothing to dislike! We were told to come here for the sausage rolls, and they were awesome 👌 Great fresh smoothies and iced coffees. Make sure to check hours. They are closed on Sundays and keep island-time others days. Highly recommend. If you stay at the Alaia it's a two minute, and no that's not exaggerated.

Located in San Pedro, Robin's Kitchen is a local outdoor spot known for its specialty, jerk chicken. This Caribbean dish features marinated chicken grilled with jerk spices and served with BBQ sauce. In addition to the delicious jerk chicken, the restaurant also offers other dishes including fish. The no-nonsense dining experience allows guests to line up beside the smoking grill for their meal and enjoy homemade sauce from a large mixing bowl.
The kindest hospitality and best jerk chicken in San Pedro! Incredibly grateful for our meal that we shared with Robin and his generosity in time, and story sharing. This is an incredibly memorable and delicious meal that we will cherish forever! Robin, if you ever end up bottling your sauce, be sure to let us know so we can ship it out!

The ox tail and jerk chicken was phenomenal. Seating was what you would expect from a resto on the side of the road, but you don’t go there for ambiance- you go for the food- and that did not disappoint at all.
Candice N — Google review
We stopped here for lunch while exploring San Pedro. Got the jerk chicken which was good but not as spicy as authentic Jamaican jerk chicken see pics. Menu is on the wall with check marks - wanted the oxtail but didn’t have it. This is actually more of a takeout place. There were some flies and little breeze but overall OK.

Overall an amazing experience. It wasn’t supposed to be open when we walked past but we were very lucky to bump into Robin on his way home from church who opened up just for us when he heard it was our last night in Belize. The best and tastiest jerk chicken I’ve ever had and the sauce with it is to die for. Such a friendly guy and an amazing meal. Highly highly recommend!
Aarya B — Google review
Considering this is a $10 meal per dish, it’s a bit difficult for me to rate it higher. The jerk chicken is famous here, as well as throughout Belize. However, if you visit other places in Belize, you may find similar dishes at better prices and with slightly better side dishes. The menu options here are somewhat limited, but the restaurant choices on the island are also limited. So, if you live nearby, it might be worth visiting at least once to try it out.
Shuotian C — Google review
We absolutely love Robin's Kitchen. The jerk is unbeatable. Breast/wing or Thigh/leg with rice and a side. Great value. While the jerk is amazing, I would add that the curry is delicious too. We usually get the meals to go, but you can eat there. Flavor for miles. Demand is big, so be patient if they are cooking more.

The best ceviche on the island are five star resort came back twice for the ceviche first time with shrimp second time with lobster not a huge fan of lobster, but the freshness and flavor was unmatched. True hole in the wall. My friend had the stewed chicken and the pork chop was disappointed because she wanted more lol. Local fresh delicious also had three watermelon juice drinks felt fantastic after meal met the owner. Local was very appreciative and full of gratitude for our return.

A small sidewalk cafe that offers delicious food! We stopped in for lunch and I ordered a chicken burrito, (that was killer), and my buddy ordered the pupusas, one each of pork, chicken and shrimp. They came with a tasty dipping sauce. The food here is excellent! I recommend Pupuseria Salvadoreno highly! If you can, stop in for a meal. I will be going back!

I like finding these gems. It has a lot of locals eating here as well as some of the local food tour groups. We went here after seeing the lady making Pupusa's outside on the grill and wanted to try it. All the ones we had were very tasty and at 4 belizian dollars are very affordable.

Pupuseria Salvadoreno is always a favorite when I’m in San Pedro! The pupusas, burrito, and ceviche were amazing, and having the owner there makes the whole place feel so inviting. We really enjoyed chatting with him..he adds such a personal, welcoming touch. The atmosphere is casual and local, and the prices are more than fair for the amazing quality. Highly recommend.. I’ll be back every time I’m in San Pedro!

“Hidden gem in San Pedro — so good I had to come back twice!” If you’re in San Pedro and looking for authentic, delicious, and affordable food, you NEED to stop by Original #1 Pupuseria Salvadoreño. I had their fish meal and it was crazy good for the price — fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. But the real star for me were the pupusas. I tried the cheese and shrimp pupusa and instantly knew I had to come back the next night. The perfect amount of crispy on the outside, cheesy goodness on the inside, and that homemade curtido (pickled slaw) and salsa took it to the next level. Super laid-back, no-frills local vibe with friendly people and food that hits every time. Places like this are what make traveling worth it. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be back next time I’m on the island!

Best lobster soup in town. Apparently, their soups are made with coconut water and coconut milk which are great for hangovers.

Sandbar Beachfront Hostel & Restaurant is a laid-back accommodation located on a beachside promenade in San Pedro, offering budget-friendly and clean dorms just steps away from the beach. The hostel features an open-air restaurant and bar where guests can enjoy American cuisine. It's conveniently situated within walking distance of the pier and popular attractions like Palapa Bar, as well as snorkeling and dive centers.
Perfect stay! Allen at the front desk checked me in and did a great job! My ocean view room was perfect!!!! Great location. Restaurants, stores, police, hospital were all in a five min vicinity! I loved their fry jacks but i love secret beach more lol. They let me call home when my phone died on me. That really meant a lot to me that they would allow me to do that. I would stay here over and over again. Safe and friendly

I didn't stay here but the pizza is really good, I ate there another time, pretty sure it was a burger, but the pizza was worth making not of. The Guys behind the bar are the reason I come back, Alfred, Travis and Alison really make you feel welcome. As for the view depending on where you sit and the weather, it's the beautiful beach front location. and if wistfully watching the world go by isn't your thing it's a sports bar, with the big screens but no sound on.

Great ho(s)tel at a great location. We had a private room which was fully equipped. We had a/c as well which was a great benefit. Took a bit long to have warm water in the shower. You can use the kitchen to cook and to fill your bottle. No noise complaints from the other rooms. Perfect! The pool was amazing with a stunning view.

Its great value . It's set up to allow for easy socializing. The kitchen is such a bonus would be nice if they got some sauce pans with lids. It was really full Im not sure the one fridge is enough. I stayed in the original part and loved it. I enjoyed the roof top pool not so much the 3 flights of stairs but keeps you in shape . The staff is so friendly and helpful . It has hostel rooms and private rooms both have been great . The location is very central lots to do in walkable distance .

No frills, but a great hostel - goof WiFi, clean rooms, fans for each bed even in the rooms with AC, well-maintained and bug-free. A little farther south, but the whole island is so easily walkable. The front desk people were very helpful with mapping out the next stages of my journey as well. I’d stay here again and recommend to friends!

I stayed 8 nights here and it was amazing. From the rooftop infinity pool, to every staff knowing my name, to the awesome smash burgers, the fantastic waiters and bartenders. And the location is awesome too. This place is the hotspot downtown and close to everything! The locals hang out here at the bar, so you get to see and know more about the island from them. I will be back, if I am fortunate enough to live long enough. Ten stars!!! I miss this place already!
Shawn R — Google review
The Sandbar is the 5-star luxury experience of the hostel world. Everything is above average here and the beds are super comfy, you get two pillows, a blackout privacy curtain and there’s AC 24/7. The rooftop swimming pool was the highlight for me and I barely had the need to leave the building. The staff were fantastic. Always smiling, always at your services and going the extra mile to accommodate you. They even arranged access to a separate room from where I could conduct my work meetings in peace. I really appreciated this. One other thing which I’ve not seen anywhere else is the free use of the washing machine and dryer in the communal kitchen which is fantastic. Would definitely come back.
Mel — Google review
Very good hostel, with a good price. The dorms are very big eventhough it has 12 or 14 people, you have a private pod, with electricity and a fan+light. They give you a towel too. Very comfortable bed. The common room is nice with games and a washing/dryer that you can use for free. Reception was really helpful. Location is right on the beach, there is no swimming tho. Luckily there is a pool upstairs. Overall great experience and for a good price.

Secret Beach in Belize is a vibrant coastal paradise that has become a must-visit destination for travelers seeking sun, sand, and relaxation. With its stunning turquoise waters and soft white sands framed by swaying palm trees, this beach offers an idyllic setting for a day of leisure. Visitors can indulge in fresh seafood and tropical cocktails at the various beachside restaurants and bars while enjoying amenities like loungers and umbrellas.
This was our first stop when we arrived at the beaches; it's the first one you see coming up the road. We took a few pictures in front of the sign, then went to get in the water. I hadn't done much research on the beaches out here, so when we got in this particular water, I was shocked to find the cutest little fish chilling under the benches and tables in the water. This made the beach stand out; don't get me wrong, the other beaches had fish too, just not as many. The vibe was great with good music, and the food was decent. I'd totally recommend this beach to everyone who wants to visit Secret Beach.
Trixie T — Google review
Nice beach area in San Pedro. I expected it to be much bigger. It’s a stretch of beach cover by 4 restaurants/Beach clubs, but the water is nice. This is especially good during hurricane season when the east side of the island is covered by sargassum.

We went to the secret beach and had a sun lounger at happy island then ate at blue bayou. Happy island was good vibes, good music and good drinks. Blue bayou had amazing service. We are in the water and the guys came out with our food and drinks and we were never left with an empty glass. Lobster was good but a little bit difficult to eat. Still very yummy.

a long bumpy golf cart ride there , pack some beer for the trip there. worth going , calm clear water. lots of fun, can snorkel and swim in 2-6 ft of water for a long way out. jet skis , water blowup thing to play on, at least 4-5 restaurants with variety of food and all the drinks jut like you can get in town. have not been able to find breakfast at secret beach. though. summers there is worth it!

Great beach, a must go to if you visit San Pedro Island. Rent the golf cart, DO IT. Its a fun, scenic but bumpy 30 min drive. Recommend water Park when you get there. Good prices in Belize dollars and friendly staff. Live music, small shops. Go see the massage staff!

We had an amazing experience at the secret beach grill, The food was absolutely delicious, we ate here several times and got several dishes, my favorite was the jerk chicken! It was so flavorful, whatever seasonings they're using are amazing. They also have really good ceviche. The customer service was top notch. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They served us at our table in the water, their drinks are great too. We loved the relaxed atmosphere. A must visit spot if you’re on Ambergris Caye!!!

This was the place we was anxious to get to and low and behold the ride there and back was better than being there. It's very overatted getting in the water everything is slimy...fish swimming everywhere no real beachy front feel or maybe not what I had in mind. The drinks were watered down syrup alcohol and ice ..a hot mess. Salsa was banging. Chips were good other than that...the ride was fun because of my travel partner..don't waste your time in October. Maybe in the summer it's much better.

Briana's Food Place is a popular spot in San Pedro, Belize, known for its authentic and affordable Belizean cuisine. The menu features traditional dishes like cow-foot soup, stew chicken, salbutes, and garnachas. Visitors recommend trying the daily specials such as pigtail or curry chicken with coconut rice and beans, plantains, and slaw. The restaurant is praised for its flavorful food and refreshing drinks like watermelon juice and horchata.
The food didn’t disappoint - if you are looking for local cuisine at a good price. We did family style and tried everything on the menu and didn’t regret it. The lime juice was good, but the horchata was only okay. This is kind of the definition of hole in the wall, so don’t expect much from the location, but we loved the food and service. Glad we went here rather than an Americanized restaurant.

This is the place for traditional Belizean stew chicken with rice & beans. Generous portion, very reasonably priced, and always served hot. Perfect takeaway that does a brisk business during lunch hour. Very courteous and friendly staff that welcomes visitors and locals alike. Can’t miss! A must try when visiting San Pedro.

Good local food & tasty meats. We tried the T bone which was very tender & juicy & the beef stew. I wished for more sauce with the beef stew. Tasteful & plenty of rice & beans with a bit of pasta salad. Nice small local eatery with reasonable prices/menu & prompt service. Try the Belizean tacos, freshly made.

I tried this place because of the reviews here. The service was good. The food delicious. I had stewed chicken. Red beans and rice. And cabbage with a watermelon drink. I took off a star on atmosphere. No a/c It was hot in there. But I think it’s worth it. Nice helpful staff. Food served hot. I’ll come back for more on my trip.

Had a few dishes. There are about 18 seats in the restaurant. The rice and beans with T-bone steak was excellent. Took a while for the food to come out. The cenas with stewed pork and red bean sauce was really yummy too.

I went here after seeing the reviews and it did not disappoint. I ordered the stew pork with rice and beans. Everything was so flavorful. The pork was fork tender and delicious. The watermelon juice was delightful and refreshing. To top it off, the price was better than just right. Very affordable. I did find out that this is one of the stops on a local food tour, so it may look crowded when you first arrive. Don't let that discourage you. Delicious food awaits!!

Thank you Roberto and D King Adventure Tours Belize for an incredible day spent zip lining and cave tubing in Belize! It was the highlight of our trip! Roberto picked us up at the port and made sure to keep us on schedule so we wouldnt be late on the ship! He was very knowledgeable of the area and made the day very fun and enjoyable! Our tour included a delicious local lunch as well. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for an excursion in Belize!

Absolute BEST time tube touring caves in Belize!! Leo & Roberto were extremely knowledgeable and SO fun! HIGHLY recommend! They also thought of every detail and took care of us well!
Katrina S — Google review
Leonardo initially helped us by agreeing to drive us from Orange Walk to San Ignacio and then do the cave tubing and zip line tour from there the next day. We learned so much about Belize and the environment and culture during the drive that we asked him to return again for a driving tour through Belize City on the way from SI to the airport. Leonardo made stops for us along the way that we would have never seen otherwise, and we learned that he’s not only knowledgeable about a wealth of topics, but has a deep love for his countrymen and a desire to share that with visitors. We had an amazing full day of zip lining through Jaguar Paw and floating along Cave Branch and into the caves privately. Leonardo scheduled it to avoid the crowds so that the entire excursion was serene and quiet. He pointed out small wildlife and even told us a story relating to the legend of certain cave formations. We turned off our lights and felt the darkness and quiet in the large chamber, and ran our hands through the short cave waterfall. Leonardo was very safe with COVID practices, wearing a mask throughout the drives and providing sanitizer before and after each excursion. He was exactly on time for all 3 points of pick up at our accommodations, and so kind and easy to spend time with that we left having made a good friend. Don’t hesitate to book him!

Just getting to write this review from December 2024. Came out here with a wonderful group of friends and this is my first trip to San Pedro, Belize and staying at Marriott's Alaia autograph hotel. Definitely a very nice property to stay at. From the views, restaurants, pools, club and various amenities this is one vacation I will not forget.

Marriott Alaia autograph hotel is a really nice property, pool is exceptional and opened till 11pm, swim up pool bar is great, all of the 5 restaurants food is significantly above other hotels especially all inclusive hotels. The roof top glass bottom infinity edge pool is pretty awesome as well. The suite rooms with kitchens are large, beautiful and luxurious. The 4 star was for the following. 1) Beach is very very small and water is brown due which was a surprise since across the island everywhere else is Caribbean blue. 2) Wish there was more for kids and teens to do and evening entertainment was lacking. Otherwise this place is would be 5 stars.

Fabulous rooms, great service, fantastic pools with swim up bar, the best ultra modern 5 star resort in San Pedro, hands down ! Their beach has had it hard with Mother Nature, washing some of it away, but it's still really nice. You can go next door to the Victoria House and use their beach and resort if a large beach is a must. They always welcome none guest to use their resort and pool. Just turn left, leaving out Alaia, and it's down on the left. I must mention that Elvis was fabulous and all the staff were so welcoming and helpful during our stay. We did day trips every day around the island and didn't hang out much at the resort except for evenings, but we just loved our room. Breakfast and roomservice were spectacular, super fast service too !!!

I cannot thank the team at Alaia enough for such a wonderful vacation in San Pedro. Not only were our accommodations even more incredible than anticipated, but the food, cocktails, and excellent service helped us quickly immerse ourselves in a quick retreat from our daily lives. If you are looking for an opportunity to relax at a luxurious hotel with the opportunity to explore a cool city, Alaia is the perfect spot. Divers, one of the top diving outposts in the area, is located at the hotel! Although most team members we interacted with at Alaia were extraordinary, I do need to note a few standouts: First and Foremost: Zariah is an unbelievable concierge. She had some great recommendations for us and truly helped us make the most of our trip. Antonio and Jojo at the Piano Bar: We were blown away by the homemade liquors and the creativity in the cocktails you put together. Blanca: We were fortunate to always be around at the same time as Blanca. She catered to our needs with a never-ending smile and never left us hungry or thirsty! Chris, Dennis, Josue, and Maria: We love exploring the cities we visit, but leaving the pool with you all bartending made it feel impossible sometimes. Lizett and Rose: What incredible massages! Thank you so much! What a wonderful trip. Thank you!

My husband and I came here for our 5th wedding anniversary. We opted for the all-inclusive food and beverage plan; it was worth every penny. The staff are all incredibly kind, outgoing, generous, helpful. Every meal was superb. We rented a golf cart and went to Secret Beach one day; long and very bumpy ride but was very fun, and you can swim in the clear water there. There is a small beach here where you can swim, but the ocean water not as clear as the other side of the island. The pools are gorgeous. Alaia is clearly the most beautiful, well-kept resort we saw in the area. We will miss everyone here so much and already planning our next stay!!

Went for the chicken drop which was not as exciting as expected. When you think of it, it was exactly what you should expect but somehow gets hyped as an huge event. It least it offers some entertainment while you drink and goes for a good cause.

Know what to expect. Came for chicken drop. Arrived just after 6:00 but was told tickets were all sold out until the 8:00 drop. We wanted to visit several places, so decided to snack and just watch the next drop. The food was horrible. Think cheese whiz for nachos and almost thawed frozen baby shrimp for tacos. The DJ was very loud and constantly talking so it was difficult to have a conversation. Service was excellent and the drop was fun to watch, but do the drop then plan to go elsewhere for food and atmosphere.

Boogies Belly is a breakfast-only local joint in San Pedro that's a must-visit. Their specialty is meat pies, available in chicken or pork, and priced at $1 for 3 palm-sized pies. The friendly owner serves these delicious meat pies until 11 am, so be sure to arrive early. The freshly baked, perfectly spiced filling inside the crispy pie crust is a delight for the taste buds.
Delicious meat pies!!! I wish I'd bought more. Both the burrito and the stuffed creole bun are very large portions, perfect for breakfast. And so delicious! The prices are cheap, too. Best breakfast place in San Pedro There's also delicious fresh fruit juice offered right across the street.
L F — Google review
The hubs and I were here yesterday (a Monday in Feb, 2019) at 12: 15pm wanting to try their pies and they said they were sold out. Apparently, we are in high season and so the meat pies are selling like hot cakes (pies - in this case). We are here today at 9:10am and it was super busy with the local working class taking their pre-orders. The front counter guy said it will take another 10 mins for the pies to be out of the oven. We walked to the Travellers Rum to check it out before walking back and the meat pies are still not ready. The meat pies are chicken and beef mix and costed BZE 1.5 each. We ordered 4 to go as we wanted to walk around and don't want to lose out on eating them again. We finally got our order by 9:27am. We are really not sure what the hype is about or if it tastes better during low season, but the pies were mediocre at best. The crust was ok, the filling was minimal and lacked ingredients, flavour - substandard to meat pies we have experienced in other places. Each pie is about 3" in diameter. Overall, we wouldn't come back again.
Elsa C — Google review
This is the place to eat breakfast at in San Pedro. Prices are fair, large portions and the food is tasty.
Tony L — Google review
Just stop in and tell the extremely friendly and helpful owner how many of that days meat pie you want. At $1.50 BZE per pie, you should probably get a couple. The trick is to use a spoon, and scoop the freshly baked, perfectly spiced filling into your mouth before you finish off by eating the crispy pie crust. You will not be disappointed, and if you're anything like me you'll be back day after day.

The San Pedro gods demand that you try these meat pies. They're extremely cheap, and can be bought in bulk. Do yourself a favor and buy double what you think you can eat. I'll describe them: Imagine eating a warm, crispy cornbread shell surrounding a thick, warm, meat stew filling. These things aren't soggy. They also have other breakfast stuff. Would certainly go again.

Intimate gallery featuring colorful Belizean & Caribbean paintings, textiles & sculpture.
Beautiful selection of art handmade in Belize by local artists. My second time visiting (the two visits multiple years apart) and it was just as good as I remembered. A must visit while in San Pedro.
Ethan S — Google review
I’m interested in purchasing art from the gallery, however Lindsey must be very busy because she has not responded to several emails. I was going to leave one star, but she has been consistently vague and unavailable so two stars it is.

This art store has a lot of nice local art. In addition to paintings they also carry wood carvings, stone lamps and quite a few other items.
Thomas R — Google review

So beautiful. Such beautiful artwork really must visit. They also have all art trinkets to purchase. Lots of choices. Lady in the store was very kind

I own a condo in San Pedro, Belize and I hired The Bamboo Artist to do some frame work for me. Omo , Was professional and engaging ,He paid attention to Details. I was very pleased and I would hire The Bamboo Artist Again.

Came for the Taste of Bamboo class and had a blast! Omo and Nicole are super friendly and Omo (the artist) helps you create your own original art piece to take home. He makes other artwork you can buy and is extremely talented. A very unique experience that I'm glad to have found during our trip here!

Amazing and unique artwork made with Bamboo!! As a Bob Marley fan, I couldn’t keep from purchasing this unique piece. I’ll be sure to visit again on my next trip to Belize!

Decided to dip my toe into decorating my place a bit more than I usually do and needed help framing. The owner did an amazing job and now my place is much more livlier than it has ever been. Would absolutely recommend if you’re in the area!

I stopped in while on vacation and absolutely loved the art work and vision/future plans! I can't wait to bring a little bit of Belize home with this unique artwork.

Secret Beach Waterpark Bar & Grill is a vibrant destination that offers an array of activities for visitors looking to soak up the sun and have fun. Nestled in a picturesque cove, this spot features Belize's first floating adventure waterpark, making it a must-visit for families and thrill-seekers alike. Guests can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and indulging in delicious food like their renowned ceviche while sipping on refreshing drinks.
WHAT'S THERE?- waterfront sun loungers, semi submerged picnic benches in the water, inflatable waterpark (includes lifejackets and staff lifeguarding), jet ski hire on site, inflatable volleyball court in the water, massages on site, bar and restaurant with service to your seats and using a tab, live music. COSTS- Sun loungers free. Water benches fee. Parking free. Inflatable waterpark entry 10USD for 1 hour or free if you leave them a TripAdvisor review. Jet Ski- 125USD for 1 hour. Massages- 1 USD per minute. Food- meals from 25-35BZD. Drinks- 3 beers and 3 single Gin & Tonics cost us 80BZD (including tip and taxes). OUR EXPERIENCE: we loved it! We got 2 sun loungers at the waterfront and stayed the whole day, staff were friendly and attentive, easy swimming in calm refreshing water, the waterpark was really fun. Would recommend. TOP TIPS: 1) arrive early if you can- we arrived around 10am and were one of the first there so could choose sun loungers, by lunchtime the whole place was full. 2) wear waterproof shoes if you have them- was a little rocky / pebbly getting in and out of the water in places. 3) Stay to watch the sunset- they stop serving at the bar at 5pm but you're welcome to stay to watch the sun go down, it was gorgeous! WHO WE'D RECOMMEND FOR: We're a British couple aged 25-30 travelling round central america. This place would be great for families, couples and anyone who wants to chill by the water and not lift a finger or those who want more adventure with the inflatables and waterpark. HOW TO GET THERE?- 40-45mins on a golf cart, relatively easy to find, roads can be a bit bumpy but fine overall, plenty of free parking when you get there.

Great local live music. Delicious food and drinks. They cooked the fish we caught. It was so yummy. We enjoyed the paddle boarding and obstacle course. Our servers checked on us frequently. We enjoyed it so much, we spent two days there. The long bumpy drive from San Pedro was worth it. There is also a boat shuttle if you don’t want to drive. There are massage therapist on the dock there too. Clear water. No sargasm. Fun for the whole family!

The family loved the variety of food they had; it was much different from the other beach stalls. But it was very nice, and they had the fastest service we had seen on the beaches. If you left your food, they'd cover it for you; none of the other beach stalls did that. The drink I got here was nice; it had a smiley face on the outside, which was so cute, and it tasted even better than it looked.

On my last full day on Ambergris Caye, I had to go to Secret Beach (which like they say, is not secret anymore). But which restaurant area for lunch? My research had come to a solution and that is where I directed the cab driver. But he had other plans for me. He was taking me to an alternative dining spot, the Secret Beach Water Park Bar and Grill. I replied by saying I was not into waterparks. He said while the waterpark was nothing to scream about, the food at the grill was really good. When we got there, he introduced me to Cha Cha, the grill master. When it was time to eat, I went up to him and chose a freshly caught one pound red snapper ($30 US). I watched Cha Cha clean it up, butterfly it and cook it on the grill, while constantly basting it with a mix of butter, garlic and spices. The final product that reached my table, was something to write home about. The fish meat was fluffy, tender, intensely flavorful and melted in your mouth. It was an adequate and generous portion, that was perfectly prepared. It came with a side of salad and of course, rice and beans. Both the sides were also exceptional. What a wonderful find and an unforgettable lunch for the memory books. Sometimes, you have to listen to the locals, if you wish to be blown away.

Amazing food, drinks and view with friendly staff. We arrived to Secret Beach close to 5 pm after a long day of travel, which is when the grill part of this place closes down. We let a staff member know our situation and they still took our orders and made sure we had a great meal after an exhausting day. We enjoyed dinner and drinks on the beach, and had a nice conversation with our server. Everyone was so happy and friendly, we definitely felt welcomed.

Great service!! Fish fingers were great but do not sleep on the quesadilla!!! They have watermark, massages, little slide for smaller kids, tables in the water, a water taxi, bar, cabanas, lockers, key lockers, shops, cornhole, picture spots, hair braider, and more. This is probably the best place to go at secret beach. The inflatables could use a good scrub but overall it was very clean and pretty much no trash. No seaweed. They work hard to keep it nice (especially compared to the rest of the island) This would be the spot I’d come back to if we came back to San Pedro!

Short day trip. Cute place. Bartender was friendly but not pushy, unlike one of the other places we first stopped at. We only ordered fries, but they were good. Super quiet the day we were there. Good drinks. Very cute atmosphere.

We made the trek via golf cart to Secret Beach from San Pedro and were so glad we did. The only beach that we were able to enjoy the water and did not have sargassum! A good time was had by all!

Gallery 501 in Belize offers a wonderful collection of art pieces created by local artists. The staff is known for their friendliness and willingness to assist customers with packaging artwork for travel. Visitors highly recommend the gallery for its beautiful selection of locally made items, including stunning artwork. It's a must-visit destination for those interested in fantastic art and exceptional service.
I will start by saying that I did not own any art prior to visiting this gallery, and now I own two STUNNING pieces. Even if you are not an art person, go in to bask in the beauty of the collection these ladies pull together. I went back about ten times and am walking away wondering if I should have bought more. Major kudos to Lily and Lindsey who helped me with my selections. It was a very tough decision!! Cannot recommend visiting this spot enough, and don’t forget to stop by the sister store across the street;)

Wide selection and very nice presentation of the local artwork. Some like the lionfish earrings and butterfly wing paintings are very unique.

I bought some great local pieces here and really liked the variety of artists featured. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only wish that they had information posted on the artists, who they are and where they work.
Alyssa C — Google review
BEWARE! Enter at your own risk! They have a scam going on inside the store where they intentionally place expensive items in precarious spots. They absolutely know these precariously placed items will get knocked over and broken so they can force you to pay half their exorbitant price. They try to play dumb but the “broken” items have clearly already been glued back together many times over bc all of the pieces are covered in glue around the cracks. There are much better souvenir shops on the island with better selection and better prices anyway!!
