Free parking lot
Playa Delfines, located near El Rey, offers a refreshing change from the typical touristy beaches in Cancun. This undeveloped stretch of sand is known for its tranquility and lack of crowds. Visitors are advised to bring their own refreshments as there are no vendors on site. The beach provides essential amenities such as lifeguards, restrooms, showers, and trash bins. However, it's important to note that parking is limited.
Playa Delfines is a must visit in Cancun. It is very clean and it is public. It has a parking that is free, but people that are helping to organize parking spota will ask you for a tip. There is also toilete, but it is open only during opening hours.
Jerneja B — Google review
Beautiful water tones and relaxing spot to come out and enjoy your day. Very convenient bus routes R1 & R2 to help you get around and not worry about parking!
Alfredo Z — Google review
Beautiful beach and amazing water color. Free palm umbrellas on the beach. A bit crowded, so it's worth arriving earlier to find a seat. There is a parking lot and toilets in front of the beach - both payable at your discretion.

Night club

Restaurant
Coco Bongo is a renowned nightclub in Cancun, Mexico, known for its lively shows and vibrant atmosphere. The club offers two entry options: regular and Gold Member, with the latter providing exclusive perks such as priority access, reserved seating in the upper level for better views of the show, and a premium open bar until 4:00 am.
Such a great night, this was our 3rd time and it’s always such a laugh- great atmosphere staff are so hardworking and the bar staff and servers are amazing. Food was not bad either 😆 but the entertainment is just brilliant always such fun and never a dull moment. Suitable for all ages - even us oldies 🤣
Nigel H — Google review
We purchased gold seating tickets which where we sat suddenly had no atmosphere. People were just on their phones most of the night and not really dancing. I have read on a few other comments on the reviews that this happens quite regular with the atmosphere. Overall drinks were good. We had a very good server who was very quick with the drinks. We didn’t have to ask the only annoying thing is they kept coming to us in the beginning trying to sell us upgraded tickets for the bottom Which did look fun but we could have a better view where we was so we could see the acrobats better down by the stage did look very fun. All depends on what price you want to pay. The show was very good. Definitely recommend if you do buy the gold tickets. Get there early so you get the better seats as if you’re sitting at the back you can hardly see the stage overall very good. Definitely eat before you go as well as the food portions are very small very handy snack size.
Scott B — Google review
Went on a family evening, which is usually once per calendar month. My wife and I took our daughter, who is 15 also. Cost $261 for the 3 of us. A bit of a fiasco getting in. Was asked for ID, however the guy who sold us the tickets didn't make us aware. Si had to dig my heels in and insisted we wasn't carrying any. So we was allowed entry. At first we didn't really know where we was sat, but got told we we're standing. I kicked off and had to show proof of purchase, yet again. Eventually we was shown to our VIP seats. Once the show began, it was brilliant. Was like a carnival, mad house. But what a show. Our waiter was fantastic, and swift. The only other minor was the food was ridiculous. A hot dog or burger with a couple of chips. Other then that, was brilliant.
Jamie G — Google review
This was definitely so much fun, it was a a Whole night of entertainment. I do suggest buying tickets very early they do sell out. VIP would of been nice, but I ended up with gold. Get there early to get a good view, bathrooms are conveniently near by. Worth paying for party/full service. They make you part of the show.
Iliana S — Google review
Great fun was had here. We got a promo price of $40 USD for cover when we purchased the tickets from Israel before 8pm. He was really nice and patient in explaining the different ticketing options to us. The shows themselves were fun and entertaining. We definitely had lots of fun here even when we were just on the main floor without a seat or table.
W T — Google review
This place was truly not your traditional night club. It’s almost like a twisted circus party atmosphere. The production was absolutely next level. The music was crispy clear, the lights were mesmerizing, and the production and actors were Vegas quality. Like top tier quality. It’s worth every penny. Only annoying part for us was the constantly upselling for tables and elevated seating. I totally get it, but it was one after the other. After awhile we were just constantly saying please leave us alone. Other than that, drinks were great and production was top scale. Totally worth the money.
Kevin H — Google review
My man Alex set up my wife and I with the best table in the house. The service from Mafer & her team from escorting us into the venue and ensuring our night was perfect was amazing. Would highly recommend table service for the best possible experience. Thank you CocoBongo team for an incredible experience! - JP & Ewa
JP H — Google review
It's an amazing environment, especially with the live shows. The downside is you have a swam of waitresses bothering you to upgrade to a higher sitting at a fee while, its quite annoying because they come to you every 20mins. There is also no service on the normal floor, so you need to walk up to the only serving bar to get a drink, which is part of your entrance fee.

Nestled in the hotel zone of Cancun, El Rey Archaeological Zone may be small, but it boasts over 40 structures dating back to 250 A.D. This hidden gem offers a quick and affordable visit, with an entrance fee of less than $3. Visitors can even bring a bathing suit and head to nearby Playa Delfines after exploring the ruins.
El Rey Archaeological Zone is a great spot to explore if you’re in the Cancun hotel zone and looking for something unique to do. What to Expect 1. Ancient Ruins While it’s not the largest archaeological site, the ruins hold significant historical value and give you a glimpse into the ancient Mayan civilization. 2. Abundance of Wildlife One of the highlights of the park is the large population of lizards and iguanas. They’re everywhere, and spotting them adds a fun, interactive element to your visit. 3. Relaxed Atmosphere The site isn’t huge, so it’s perfect for a leisurely afternoon stroll. You won’t need a full day here, but it’s a great way to spend a few hours. Tips for Your Visit • Comfortable Clothing: Wear light and comfortable clothes and shoes, as you’ll be walking outdoors. • Bring Water: Stay hydrated, especially if you visit during the hotter parts of the day. • Timing: It’s an ideal activity if you have some free time in the afternoon. El Rey is a simple yet worthwhile experience, especially if you’re staying in the hotel zone. It’s a mix of history, nature, and relaxation—a lovely way to break up your day!

Just down the street from our hotel NYX & a quick Uber ride! Only 75 pesos per person to enter but BEWARE of the mosquitos - BRING BUG SPRAY!! They also warn you before entering. My husband & I enjoyed the stroll through the ruins but there is only one sign - not a lot of information, doesn't take long to walk through but still cool to see all the Mayan history!!
Lindsey S — Google review
We personally had a very weird experience. Our hotel told us that there weren't any ruins here, but we had access to Google Maps so.... Yeah. It wasn't a miscommunication because I speak fluent Spanish. Anyways, before even going down the steps, the mosquitoes were feasting on us. I'm telling you at least 20-30 on each of us. The ticket guy is behind a wall and doesn't speak. I told him we wanted to see the ruins and he told me he only took cash, pesos, no USD, didn't take card or tap to pay. Everyone we told that to afterwards said it was bizarre and unheard of. We weren't heartbroken about not going in here, we had mosquito repellant stickers but the mosquitoes took a few seconds to sense them and we were worried about our kids because the hotel told us that Dengue fever was going around. Every taxi driver, every bell person, except for one taxi driver told us that there were NO ruins in the hotel zone at all. We weren't "scared" to leave the hotel zone, we'd paid for an all inclusive and we had two small kids on us... Making it to Tulum or Chichen Itza just wasn't going to happen for us on this short of a trip.
KC — Google review
We were visiting the area for a day and didn't have time to make the day trip to the bigger sites. We still wanted our son who loves history to have a chance to experience some of the Mayan ruins. We stopped here and a couple of things stood out. The price was excellent. The location had some great ruins that inspired our son to ask questions. It certainly is not a big site but it was just enough. The one thing that could have made this site better was more signage about the ruins. Overall I enjoyed the stop and also enjoyed the overall conversation about the Mayan people I was able to have with my son.
Jason S — Google review
This place was pretty cool. There was a small entry fee (around $3). There's no guide or anything. You just walk around and spend as much time as you like exploring. They have a few plaque facts about each area, with historical information in both Spanish and English. There are also lots of iguanas. I went on a rainy day where it was kind of flooded, but still enjoyed looking around. Worth it.
Paulette W — Google review
A small gem of the hotel zone for sure. Cost for adults is 75 pesos... Kids are free! There are guided tours you can book through external groups. We noted maybe 4 or 5 signs describing some details of structures and their purposes. Defiantly an easy and inexpensive way to see some historical structures l/foundations of the Mayan civilization.
John H — Google review
Smack in the middle of Cancun. Too bad this place is poorly maintained N3ed mosquito spray.. 75 pesos.. wouldnt spend a peso for this
Ice J — Google review
If you can't be bothered to visit CI, this is a great alternative. Mayan ruins on your door step for a low price, no vendors trying to sell you tat, cool iguanas, cheap entry. Well worth a 1 hour visit.

Mercado 28, also known as Market 28, is a bustling flea market in downtown Cancun that offers an array of authentic souvenirs and local goods. This long-running market spans an entire city block and features colorful stalls selling everything from leather goods to traditional Mexican clothing, pottery, lacquerware, and hand-made accessories. Visitors can immerse themselves in the vibrant local culture while enjoying street food delights at small eateries dotted throughout the market.
If your looking for a good market for souvenirs this is the place! Be mindful as you will need to haggle sometimes aggressively for better prices and the vendors can become aggressive. But its a fun experience and I highly advise walking the market to see all what is around. You will find numerous shops with the same thing and different prices so look around first and go from there. Also a lot of the stands have people to bring you to their stand nearby. That's very much a thing. But overall found lots of cool souvenirs and got good prices after a lot of negotiating lol.
Flibity S — Google review
Looks charming, and has a wide range of tourist souvenirs and cute clothes. The architecture of the market is awesome, vibrant and winding. Barrio 28 is a cool neighborhood to stay in overall. The restaurants that are right next to the mercado, ringing the parking lot, are all delicious. However, it is really difficult to enjoy the mercado as the shop owners are super aggressive and won't leave you in peace for one second to take in the vibe or look through their wares. I've been to several Latin American countries and this is the norm, the aggressive sell tactic, but it is surprising that merchants in tourist areas haven't quite figured out yet that Canadian and American tourists really hate the Hard Sell and don't like to be constantly harassed. My female friend and I were followed for about 30 ft by an incredibly aggressive Merchant attempting to sell us drugs. When I told him to leave us alone, he cursed us out and demanded we leave the market. He spoke very good English so I know that he is aware that female tourists do not like to be followed around and harassed by a strange man, and that it will never end in a positive manner. If merchants in these areas start to accept and figure out that the aggressive sell tactic does not work well on tourists, these mercados may start to thrive more. If you do want to buy something, look for the same item in multiple stalls and ask for prices and haggle.
Violet B — Google review
This is an excellent place to buy souvenirs from your trip, and the prices are very fair. The vendors don’t pressure you to buy, which I really appreciate since that’s something that often keeps me away from these kinds of places. They also have great food. I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Cancún.
J F — Google review
This is a vibrant and lively place to buy souvenirs and haggle over prices if you're into that kind of thing. It is a bit of a tourist tral but it's a tourist area. It can be overwhelming if you aren't prepared for the close quarters and constant engagement from the vendors, the restaurants are equally aggressive in trying to get your butt on their seats but the food we had was delicious and reasonably priced. Be prepared for additional "service fee" to be added to your bill which was 50 pesos, in lieu of tip.
Adan A — Google review
It's a nice local market for souvenirs, cheaper than your hotel gift shop and very colorful. What is kind of a Drang is how insisting and how many vendors call you over and over and try to get to sell you something, very persistent. So you have to rush and pass and you don't want to look too much to avoid the sales people.
Martin A — Google review
Nice place to buy souvenir, do a walk through first. Ask for price on whatever interest you and keep walking. All venders sell the same thing, some at low price and others at highest. Bought bead bracelet, some place were $250 for 2, the cheapest I found was 3 for $100. Cigars from Cuba, $500-800 found cheapest for $150. Go early in the day, as it gets dark it doesn't feel safe.
Ann F — Google review
Its old Cancún downtown shopping area, full of lots of souvenir stores and places to buy tequila. The only restaurant that I'd recommend is called El Cejas, fresh fish and seafood coctails, ceviches, beer and live music. Very touristy, worth your time
Jorge S — Google review
The vendors are very plushy, I decided to use headset to not hear them coz they was very annoying, if you just look at them stuff they jump on you and not let you alone for a single second, also it's a labyrinth. But also waaaay much cheaper than at the hotel zone ,so if you have enough nerv, than go and buy there souvenirs. But carefully with a jewelry store's ,they try to scamm you so better to know the currency.

Museum
Specialty Museums
The Museo Maya de Cancún y Zona Arqueológica de San Miguelito is a modern museum located in the Hotel Zone at Boulevard 16.5, offering a fascinating collection of Mayan artifacts and art. The sleek design of the museum provides stunning views of the surrounding jungle and Nichupte Lagoon. Visitors can explore the ruins of San Miguelito, an ancient Maya community, included with their museum ticket.
For a smaller museum, very low-key, only 100 pesos, this place has some incredibly beautiful Mayan artifacts (I believe dating from about 200 A.D. through the Spanish invasion and pillage beginning in the 1500's) that are absolutely worth seeing. I spent about 70 or 80 minutes here without reading much of the placards (Taking pix. Note: unfortunately many pictures have some glare from the glass enclosed cases.), including walking the whole San Miguelito Trails. Zona Arqueológica de San Miguelito (pathways through jungle-like ruins) is within the property of the Museo. Watch out for mosquitos!
John B — Google review
The Museo Maya feels like a grand museum that accidentally teleported into the middle of nowhere. Entry is 100 pesos per person, and you quickly realize that the entire facility is running on pure history, not electricity. The upper floor holds the real treasure: the artifacts and stories of the region’s discovery. Unfortunately, it is also a full-blown sauna up there, so your museum walk doubles as a historical reenactment of what it felt like to live in the 16th century. Bring a handheld fan, or prepare to sweat your way through time. Once you descend the ramps and step into the jungle, things take a turn for the wild. The mosquitoes are not a myth; the warning signs are not exaggerating. Within moments, you will understand the phrase “swarmed.” Think of it as a natural initiation ritual before reaching the Mayan ruins. Despite the heat and the biting entourage, the ruins themselves are worth it. The museum may test your endurance, but it rewards you with an authentic glimpse into Mayan history. Overall, it is an adventure worth having, provided you come armed with bug spray and humor.
Red — Google review
SO MANY MOSQUITOS. It’s a nice museum but I don’t see anyone talking about how many mosquitos there are in the Mayan ruins. There’s standing water and let me tell you they were relentless. We used bug spray, but I think you need deet/strong types of bug spray because we got chewed up. Despite that, it was nice overall. You can purchase tickets there or online for $100 pesos. People under 13 and over 60 years get in free
Rachael B — Google review
It was huge and empty, only saw a couple other visitors beside me, most exponats are only in Spanish The archaeological zone however was nice, you can walk around freely as long as you'd like and it's pretty big, but make sure to bring mosquito deterrent because they are everywhere
Nikita M — Google review
Pleasant little museum in which to spend an hour or so. It isn't air-conditioned so it was fairly hot while we were there, even with the doors open. There is a collection of artifacts, many of them complete and 'whole' rather than in fragments. Many of the information panels are only in Spanish, but the larger information boards have English translations. When you leave the museum, there are extensive outdoor grounds within which are Mayan ruins. The trees provide a canopy and shade from the sun, so it is a pleasant stroll to see the historical ruins and small pyramid.
David S — Google review
It was good, mainly from the historic lecture perspective, lots of interesting facts if you are prepared for some reading. There is an archeological site in the jungle oasis which surrounds the museum.
Mike — Google review
If you're staying in the tourist district, and want to see ruins without driving hours out of the way, take a quick ride over to these ruins. You get the experience of the ruins in about 2 hours. It's inexpensive to get in, and they have artifacts from the Mayan area on display as well. One thing to be cautious about, the elevators don't work to get to the museum, and it's a spiral ramp that takes you up about 5 stories that you have to walk. There is no air where the artifacts are, and it gets hot quick, especially after walking up the ramp. The ruins are on the ground level, and have walking paths to each ruin with signs on English and Spanish. The signs with the artifacts are not in English. They have so many iguanas, or as my wife calls them baby alligators... SMH, I kept telling her they are harmless as long as you don't mess with them, just watch where you step because they blend in well with the environment.
Bryan J — Google review
My son and I live in Playa and we’ve been wanting to go to this museum for a while. Today we finally had an opportunity as we had a morning flight cancelled at Cancun Airport and my son got put on a later flight ;) This museum provides a deep dive into Mayan culture for anyone interested. Signage is in Spanish and English. The museum is surrounded by a jungly walking area that has ruins from early settlements in this area. It was beautiful. I would recommend this museum to anyone visiting the area. The entrance is only 100 pesos and on Sundays it’s free for nationals and residents.

Outdoor Activities
Playa Tortugas, also known as Turtles Beach, is a bustling public beach located at the north end of the Hotel Zone in Cancun. It offers calm waters ideal for swimming and various amenities such as umbrella and chair rentals, restaurants, souvenir shops, and bathroom facilities. The beach is popular among both locals and visitors due to its family-friendly environment and excellent conditions for activities like swimming, snorkeling, and paragliding.
Best public beach so far in Cancun. The beach is small and the locals come here with their families but was not too crowded. Nice restaurants and bars
Marta Z — Google review
Beautiful turquoise green waters. The beach is public so there's usually a lot of people. Finding parking at the spot is difficult. You can park at the nearby pharmacy or starbucks and walk it. The Google maps location is incorrect! Drive about 5 mins forward from the pinned location.
Md.Nishanto P — Google review
Nice and small public beach at the edge of the hotel zone. Went there around 11 am on a weekday and the place was pretty quiet. However the water quality were just alright..
Anne L — Google review
The beach is not very clean, and most importantly, the shoreline and water are full of sargassum seaweed. In some areas, swimming is nearly impossible because your legs get tangled in the seaweed. Only small clear areas in the water are suitable for swimming. We came to swim at sunset, when there was no one on the loungers near the hotel — meaning we weren’t disturbing any hotel guests. The beach wasn’t fenced off, so technically anyone could swim there. But a hotel staff member made us remove our beach bag and towels from the lounger and place them on the sand, saying the loungers were only for hotel guests. It was awful — it was already getting dark, no one else was around, but the staff member flat-out refused to let us use the lounger even just to set down our towel. There was also no place to change clothes.
Nika N — Google review
This is not where Playa Tortuga is located, its label wrong on google map

This is a beautiful beach area with some fun snorkeling. It’s a free beach, there are shopping and food options. Access to the Ferry to Isla Mujeres, ⛴ and Catamarans. Bus stop located there. We would go down and around the rock area where additional beach is and spreading out of people! Enjoy!
Heather S — Google review
Small hill near the beach. Bungee Jump and other actions happens here... After done with Langosta beach, we headed towards Tortugas beach. It is 2 km far from Langosta beach towards south and more knowns for Isla Mujeres ferry and Bungee Jumping. While entering the beach, lots of restaurant staff will bother you to use their service. As this is a very small beach with one small hill, not much area to explore, we decided to sit in one restaurant. I am not sure of even name of the restaurant. we ordered their mango margarita, local beer and their catch of the day fish. Fish was great and so was their mango margarita. Beach- as I said, there is not much are to explore, I was wondering why people even swimming on this beach with so less space. There was one pier where bungee jumping was happening. Also, Isla Mujeres ferry departs from here. Can come for actions but not for a swim.

relatively uncrowded. decent off shore snorkeling. clear yet kind of cloudy waters. free (?) seats with umbrella behind ocean spa hotel. this is a cute lil public beach between many boat docks. i was debating between a 4 and 5 star rating, and decided to go with 4. while this is a nice beach, it isn’t absolutely breath taking like some others.

Parque de las Palapas, also known as the Park of the Palapas, is a recently renovated city park in Cancun that offers a vibrant and family-friendly atmosphere. Visitors can immerse themselves in local Mexican culture while enjoying the shaded tables, playground structures, and an open-air stage for performances. The park is free to enter and features food stands offering affordable snacks like corn on the cob, fried plantains, and quesadillas.
This place was fabulous entertainment for every age range and was accessible to all. It had the best range of street food and was all clean and freshly prepared to order. There were tables to sit in a food court arrangement and even these were cleaned by the traders. The night we went there was lots of entertainment and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We felt safe at all times, it was a great vibe we genuinely nice people who were predominantly locals but there were still many tourists who were kindly treated. Lots of souvenir shops with people making items in front of you. There were some mobile traders and some permanent shops including a supermarket. There was also a historical Catholic Church with a massively oversubscribed service going on, all welcome as it spilled onto the street. Fabulous experience.

Best local, authentic food (and best prices) in Cancun. This is where local people go with established restaurants around perimeter and food carts with the local desserts. Multiple marquesitas food carts (a regional dessert that's essentially a stuffed crepe). Great music, people dancing, kids playing.

Definitely a must visit place when in Cancun, Mexico. It’s a very happening place during the evenings and nights with festival kind of vibes. I visited this place frequently and enjoyed various performances. There is something different everyday. You can enjoy good music and dance performances. Not to forget, the food options are amazing. Marquesitas, Churros and esquites are must try. I loved all the food options and they were all very affordable. There are both stores and food stalls on the street. There’s a shared space to sit and eat. Good place to experience Mexican food, performances and culture. My favourite place in cancun to spend the evening and enjoy the vibes. Carry cash for the food as they do not accept cards.

This square in downtown Cancun is pretty interesting to check out. There are often events happening, so you might catch a show or some kind of performance. I wouldn’t say there’s anything super unique about it, but if you’re not sure what to do in the center, it’s worth a visit. At the very least, you’ll probably find some good street food.

A fantastic place to go for live entertainment, great food, and awesome atmosphere. Found cheap parking a block away with free bathrooms at the municipal building. We went on November 1st so it was quite packed for Dia de los Muertos and it was worth it.
Fernando R — Google review
My favourite place to visit for checking out local shops and trying authentic local food. The prices are much better than in the hotel zone, and the food tastes even better! One thing to note: most vendors don’t speak English, so having Google Translate ready will be helpful. I also found it difficult to get Wi-Fi here to call an Uber back, so keep that in mind. Other than that, I highly recommend checking out this spot when you visit Cancún.
David T — Google review
Best place for food in Cancun. Least likely place to get scammed as prices are fair and square, and clearly displayed. Authentic dishes, loads of selection, and portions are very generous. The real deal. The only place in Cancun I'd recommend.
Avits M — Google review
This place is a MUST when visiting Mexico 🇲🇽 is just a nice place to get good food for a good price along with a show. We went on a Saturday night. Food was so good and cheap that we kept eating tacos, it was good to support all the mom and pops local businesses. Marquesita are all delicious and a must try. There's also shops if you walk to the right of the dessert carts. You can buy jewelry, clothes, and so much more. Please go visit and support these local businesses. I'll definitely return and will recommend 👌

Swim With Whale Sharks Cancun offers a unique opportunity to witness the largest fish in the world, the whale shark, in their natural habitat. The Yucatan coast near Cancun is renowned as one of the most reliable spots globally to encounter these endangered creatures. Despite their massive size - comparable to that of a school bus - adult whale sharks are gentle and pose no threat to humans. In fact, they are known for their docile nature.

Aquarium
Nature & Parks
The Interactive Aquarium Cancún is the only aquarium in Cancun, offering a unique and interactive experience for the whole family. With 13 enormous fish tanks, visitors can observe a wide variety of marine species including piranhas, eels, jellyfish, sea lions, dolphins, sharks and more. The Touch Area allows guests to interact with starfish, sea urchins and sea cucumbers.
Travelled from England for a holiday and decided to visit the aquarium as a family of four, with our two daughters aged 5 and 4. What a great place! Excellent value for money and plenty to see. Our daughters got to touch starfish and a stingray, and we watched a brilliant dolphin show. I would highly recommend it and the shop at the end is great too.
Luke — Google review
This wasn’t as sad as it seems. It was a great experience. We did the “ride” experience. Rubber life jackets. Get to touch the dolphin upwards of 10 times. The dolphins seem happy & their habitat is well maintained. Get to use free lockers to store personal belongings. Have to take a shower before & after dolphin experience. The bathrooms are a little run down. The photographers could have been better. They took candid shots, which didn’t turn out. They want $50 for an 8x10 picture with a paper frame. Start to walk away & they will negotiate the prices for their photo packages. $119 a person. It was so fun! Highly recommend.
Kristin — Google review
Visited this charming little aquarium during my vacation this morning and had a lovely time. I arrived about 30 minutes after opening and only had a short wait.About 10 people in line to pay and get a wristband. General admission was $17, which felt reasonable for the experience. While the aquarium is on the smaller side, it's perfect for families with young children. There were fun touch tanks with starfish and stingrays, and a dolphin interactive area you can view from above, which was a highlight. A sweet, relaxed stop if you're in the area with kids!
Jade L — Google review
Had a fantastic time at Interactive Aquarium Cancún! All of the staff were warm and welcoming, and the entire property was spotless and well-maintained. I visited specifically for the Aquarium Trek experience, and it was absolutely unforgettable. I got to touch the fish, take some silly photos underwater, and best of all — the trek staff took pictures and recorded videos of the whole experience, which was such a fun keepsake! After the trek, we explored the rest of the aquarium — watched dolphins practicing for their show and saw a variety of other amazing sea creatures. There’s also a restaurant on-site, which was pretty good and a nice spot to unwind. Overall, it’s a must-visit in Cancun for anyone looking for a unique, interactive, and family-friendly activity. Highly recommend!

Seeing a dolphin in person was always on my wife’s bucket list, and this experience truly delivered. The water was cold at the time, but the dolphin was incredibly well trained and super friendly with humans. We had an amazing time getting so close and interacting under the guidance of a skilled coach who explained everything clearly. It was definitely worth paying for the experience itself. However, the photos and videos offered afterward were quite pricey. We still opted for the top package to get all the pictures and videos taken. The photo quality was excellent as you can see in the review but the video quality was very disappointing, almost like it was filmed on a phone from the early 2010s. Despite that it was a memorable and enjoyable dolphin encounter overall.
Muntakimur R — Google review
Most amazing experience swimming with dolphins up close, hugging them, kissing them, doing tricks. We felt like it was a dream come true. The staff were amazing from the beginning to the end. The photo staff especially Ruth was extremely helpful and informative in helping answer our questions and went above and beyond to make our experience fabulous. The photographers captured high quality professional photos of our amazing experience w the dolphins. The trek walking was a great add on. I highly recommend swimming with dolphin from the interactive aquarium. Everyone was professional, kind and helpful. The transportation from the hotel was helpful, on time and again, professional! My kids and I loved it and we will definitely recommend this to all our friends!
Andrea B — Google review
We took the splash package and had a good time as a family. The aquarium is really small but the real thing we went for is the interaction with the dolphins. We took the splash package that comes with basic activities with the dolphins for about 20 minutes. The staff is friendly and they provide towels and shower access. I booked it online which gives you a 30% discount of the max price. The photo package is certainly expensive but they are good and if you want all the memories you will need to pay around $260 us dollars.
Rajesh N — Google review
$16 USD per person for non-residents/non-locals. Aquarium is on the small side, good for small children. No workers inside doing any presentations about the animals they have. One worker outside letting people touch the stingrays. They have dolphins, I think I counted 10. 7 of them were packed together in two small tank. Interactive experiences are available with the dolphins and they do a daily show.

Ventura Park, formerly known as WetnWild, is a family-friendly theme park located at km 25 of Cancun's Hotel Zone. It offers a variety of attractions including water slides, wave pools, go-kart tracks, and zip lines spread across six distinct zones. The park caters to visitors of all ages with entertainment areas suitable for both teens and toddlers. The Wetn Wild section features a wave pool, lazy river, and thrilling rides like the Kamikaze slide.
Overall we had a great time. We booked the VIP with dolphin encounter. It’s an extra $20 to do the actual dolphin swim, otherwise you stand there with the trainer and pet and learn about the dolphins. The are never any lines! I’ve never been to a water park without lines! Even waterside was so much fun and you can do it as many times as you can walk up there stair towers!! It’s an extra $7 per tube if you want to float the lazy river, even with VIP. The food buffet with actually very good. I had shredded chicken tacos and loved them. VIP also gets a special meal of shrimp or steak and rice and veggies made to order. That was absolutely delicious! Check in is long! Make sure to arrive early. The only line I waited in was check in and it took about 30 minutes.

Overall I had a good day with my family, which did not cost much at all. I used the 2 for 1 birthday deal for my partner and I, then a child price. Waiting to get it was 45 mins as I didn't have tickets before. The annoying thing about the wait was there was only 1 family in front of us. Once we were in we couldn't get lockers as nowhere had change, so bring the correct amount of pesos. I think it was between 210 and 250 pesos we just put the bags back in the car. Everything was okay, rides, pool, drinks, food. I would recommend it for a simple day out, but don't expect to be amazed.
Adriano R — Google review
It was a long wait to check in even with buying tickets ahead of time. Bring pesos for the lockers. There is an atm at the gift store if needed. Lots to do at the park. Food was good and loved the lazy river best.
Tess B — Google review
Amazed by all the dolphins! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Swimming pool up top with a bar and food service. They have lockers for a few. If you ever get a chance, I recommend this park!
Britt J — Google review
It's very small, but it's fun and the facilities/rides are clean and safe. It's worth it if you're using something like resort credits to purchase tickets. It was very empty when I went, there were practically no lines whatsoever. It's not in the hotel zone so it's a bit hard to get to. I recommend taking a taxi there and then taking a bus back because not all buses go that far and they are hard to find. A taxi will cost 200-300 pesos and a bus ticket will cost 12 pesos. It's mainly a water park. If you don't bring a swimsuit you might not have much to do. The wave pool makes waves very often, maybe around every 10-20 minutes. Apart from that there is 1 rollercoaster, 1 go cart track, 1 carousel, as well as multiple zip lines and a ropes course. The food from the buffet is good, especially the pasta and tacos. You also have the option of upgrading to an unlimited food and drink ticket.
Cocove Y — Google review
Place is okay. Equipment is a little run down. All inclusive drinks and food & ice cream but, they limit you to 2 flavors on the ice cream and 1 per person. No towels and lockers are extra. Drinks are good.
Selene B — Google review
Bad maintenance, bad service, bad food, since the arriving all the road is full of garbage and abandoned old buses. Not worth it at all. Beach beds dirty. Bad system to attractions long files and signing in every one. Go carts no nice too boring everything nothing exiting

Cancun is home to one of the world's best coral reefs, discovered by Jacques Cousteau in 1961. The area was declared a national marine park in 1996 due to its popularity for diving. Additionally, the underwater art museum, MUSA, located between Cancun and Isla Mujeres features over 500 sculptures designed to encourage coral growth and replenish marine life habitats. Visitors can also enjoy multi-day trips that offer scuba diving and exploration of ancient history.
Tony, Daniel, and Alberto are SO FUN! I did 6 dives with them in a week and it was worth every single penny. The price is great, service is phenomenal, and they are experts on the best dives here. They are DIVE LEGENDS! I took my siblings, two of which aren’t certified, and Alberto and Dany were excellent with them. SUCH GREAT DIVES!!! I’m going to come back to Cancun ONLY to dive with these guys some more!!! 100/10 Gracias, amigos! Nos vemos muy pronto!

We had an amazing diving adventure with Scuba Diving Cancun and their fantastic team! The instructors were incredibly kind, patient, and always attentive to safety. We went out in a small group, which made the service feel very personal and hands-on. Everything was clearly explained to us before making any payments, and without a doubt, these guys offer the best prices in Cancun — you won’t find a better deal anywhere else. During our dive, we were lucky enough to see manatees — truly incredible creatures! This experience will be hard to top.
Yuliana — Google review
First time scuba diving and I'm glad my partner and I chose this team. At first we went with the "Discover Scuba" package. With great guidance and clear instructions and directives during the confined water training, the two dives were smooth, enjoyable and memorable. My partner and I went several times after that and I even ended up getting further training to complete my open water diver certification with this team! The rich marine life in the Cancun area makes it 100% worth going diving. Some animals we've seen include stingrays, eagle rays, huge puffer fish, groupers, barracuda, moray eels, lobsters, baby sun fish, crabs and many schools of fish. I highly recommend this team if you're interested in going diving for the first time, or want to do a diving certification, or even as an advanced diver, just want to be brought to the best diving spots in the Cancun area. Special thanks to Daniel who was our guide for all our dives and also trained me for the certification. He'll make sure you are safe and comfortable underwater so you can make the best out of your dive.

I recently had the pleasure of diving with Alberto and Daniel, and I can honestly say it was a truly amazing experience! Right from the start, the communication via WhatsApp with Scubadiving Cancun was excellent, setting a positive tone for our adventure. This dive was particularly special as it was my partner's and my 14-year-old son's first time, and I couldn't have asked for better trainers. Alberto and Daniel were not only incredibly knowledgeable, but they also brought humor and reassurance to the whole experience, making it memorable for all of us. Their enthusiasm for diving was contagious, and their professionalism shone through every step of the way. The dives themselves were nothing short of breathtaking. We encountered magnificent sea turtles, three sharks, and graceful stingrays, all while exploring a vibrant coral reef teeming with life. The sights were magical, and it felt like we were in a dream. What impressed me even more was the competitive pricing; it was better than most local competitors, making this adventure not just unforgettable but also a fantastic value. Thank you, Alberto and Daniel, for making our first diving experience so special. When we visit Cancun again we will definitely dive with you again!

I spent 4 days with Scuba Diving Cancun with instructors Alberto and Dani. I had the most wonderful time getting my PADI open water and open water advances certification across 10 dives. They took lots of photos for me, taught me everything I needed to know and incredibly patient with all of my questions. Both instructors were experienced, professional and funny. Additionally, this company was extremely efficient and fast at answering questions via whatsapp. I was very lucky and able to see turtles, dolphins, rays, sharks, giant crabs and lobsters among other amazing animals during this time. I would absolutely recommend to anyone who is looking to dive in Cancun.

I did my Open Water Diver course with Scuba Diving Cancun, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My instructor, Dany, was absolutely fantastic — patient, calm, and incredibly knowledgeable. From the first training session to the open water dives, he made me feel completely safe and confident every step of the way. You can tell he’s passionate about diving and about teaching it right — he explains everything clearly, never rushes you, and somehow makes learning all the safety stuff feel fun. There was also another instructor on the boat, Alberto, who wasn’t my direct instructor but went out of his way to help everyone. Super friendly, patient, and clearly loves what he does — the kind of guy who makes the whole vibe on the boat even better. Overall, I can’t recommend Scuba Diving Cancun enough. Great people, professional setup, and an unforgettable way to start my diving journey. If you’re thinking of getting certified, ask for Dany — you’ll be in excellent hands (and have a great time doing it).
Kiavash B — Google review
I've been diving all over the world for many years and I was really impressed with how much professionalism and also how much fun we had with Danny, Alberto, and Antonio. I decided to take a couple dives in Cancun getting dental work done. I had a long-term injury on my leg that kept me from diving for a couple of years. When I inquired about getting a little extra help with my gear... and in and out of the boat, I had no idea the VIP treatment I was going to get. This great crew bent over backwards to assist me in any way and made it possible for me to enjoy a couple of dives that I couldn't have done without all their help. If you're in Cancun and want a small, personal wonderful experience, make sure you book it with these guys.

We had a great experience diving here with Danny and Alberto. They provided great equipment, and we loved it was a smaller group instead of a huge dive charter. We went to two beautiful sites and the guides pointed out all kinds of awesome stuff. We were going to return to them for another dive but missed out with bad weather. They took care of everything and we highly reccomend to anyone looking to dive in cancun.

Playa Marlín is a beautiful white-sand beach located in the heart of the Hotel Zone in Cancun. It offers stunning views and attractions, including nearby restaurants, bathrooms, showers, and modern malls like La Isla Shopping Village. The beach is less crowded than others nearby and has facilities such as lifeguards and beach supplies for rent. It's an ideal spot for water sports like surfing due to its strong currents, but visitors should heed safety warnings from lifeguards.
Cancún’s water is a shade of turquoise you can’t quite believe until you’re floating in it — warm, crystal-clear, and shimmering like glass. I spent the afternoon drifting between the shore and my sun lounger, half-lost in the horizon, half-lost in my thoughts. If there’s a more perfect invitation to slow down and savour life, I haven’t found it yet.

A stretch of public beach, squeezed in between the big all-inclusive hotels on the main strip. You can catch a bus there from downtown Cancn. Take the R1 or R2 and it stops opposite the beach. Sunbeds, parasols and tables are available. 300 pesos is the going rate for 2 sunbeds and a parasol. There are toilets and free 'thatched' parasols as you go down onto the beach. Also, a handy OXXO shop.

A wide, beautiful beach with strong waves and vibrant turquoise water. Playa Marlín offers great views and plenty of space to relax, though currents can be intense. It’s clean and easy to access, with some nearby amenities. Ideal for a scenic walk or sunbathing, but swimming requires caution.

Playa Marlin is a stunning beach with soft, powdery sand and crystal-clear waters, ideal for sunbathing and swimming. The beach is well-maintained, with clean facilities and ample space for visitors to relax and enjoy the picturesque surroundings. Located conveniently close to restaurants and shops, Playa Marlin offers easy access to amenities without sacrificing its natural beauty. The views of the ocean are breathtaking, making it a perfect spot for both daytime activities and sunset watching. During peak times, Playa Marlin can attract large crowds, which may reduce the sense of tranquility and peacefulness. Additionally, while efforts are made to keep the beach clean, occasional litter can be observed, especially during busier periods. Overall, Playa Marlin is a fantastic choice for beach enthusiasts seeking to experience the beauty of Cancun's coastline. Despite occasional crowding, its natural charm and convenient location make it a worthwhile destination for relaxation and enjoyment.

There’s a convenient public access point with everything you need—changing rooms, showers, and toilets. Plus, you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas for just a few pesos, which is such a steal. La Isla Cancun is located in the Hotel Zone — a beautiful outdoor shopping and dining area with a great mix of international brands, local boutiques, and plenty of restaurants to choose from. The open-air layout along the lagoon makes it a pleasant place to stroll, especially in the evening when it’s cooler and beautifully lit. It’s clean, safe, and very family-friendly. The only downside is that it can get quite crowded, and some stores are a bit pricey compared to similar products elsewhere. Overall, it’s a fun and vibrant spot to shop, eat, and relax in Cancun!

Large variety of shops. Clean. Nice sunset view from boardwalk. I went in the evening and highly Recommend going in evening time for sunset and walk around.
Sharan H — Google review
La Isla is the perfect place to experience the high art of the tourist trap. Picture a luxury outdoor mall where the prices climb faster than the tropical humidity. Every store looks like it is auditioning for a fashion week that never ends. Still, you will probably end up snapping a photo at the big colorful CANCUN sign, because, well, everyone does. Between the designer boutiques and the “special offer, my friend” excursion booths, there is always someone ready to help you part with your pesos, but with enough charm that you almost do not mind. You can haggle, and it becomes its own sport if you are patient enough. Restaurants here seem to charge based on how shiny their menus are, not how filling the meals are. Still, the atmosphere is nice, and if you treat it as part of the experience rather than a bargain hunt, it is oddly entertaining. Worth a visit? Sure; think of it as a high-end mousetrap with cocktails. Go, look around, take your selfie, and leave before your wallet gets too comfortable.

Mercado Coral Negro is a bustling flea market located in Cancun's Hotel Zone, offering a convenient spot for souvenir shopping without having to venture downtown. Here, visitors can browse through an array of classic Cancun souvenirs such as T-shirts, tequila bottles, shot glasses, sombreros, jewelry, and various arts and crafts. The vendors are known for their humorous haggling style and the market itself can feel like a maze to navigate through.
Unbelievable. I got the halal Mexican burrito. Unbelievably good. I order lee 2 more to go. It was that good

Be careful here, family member was told a certain price for braids. Once they started they increase the price, ( they didn't think we understood Spanish) my daughter stopped them and asked what she owed and they told here $150.00 dollars. She asked them to stop and to inform here what she owed for what was done. They came to a firm agreement on price $50.00 and let them finish the braids. Original price was 600 pesos around 35 dollar. Make sure you are confirmed on price
Delfino C — Google review
Stay away from this restaurant in the Market. They scammed us and charged us $233 US for some tacos, quesadilla, & soup. There are no prices on the menu which was our first mistake. When we tried to speak to them about the price gouging they sent in 5 guys and surrounded us until we paid. Just watch your back at this flea market.
Joshua R — Google review
Some nice items but jeez are they aggressive. To the point where we just wanted to leave and not come back. I get everyone is trying to make a buck but it was too much for us. We ended up buying some pottery from the vendor who was least aggressive and most friendly. A lesson to the more aggressive ones perhaps.
Marco C — Google review
It's a fun place with lots of interesting people and products to look at. Lots of haggling involved, so just keep that in mind and don't be afraid to walk away from vendors not willing to budge on their prices (there's going to be at least 15 other stores with the exact same items). Be respectful though, they need to make a living too.
Timm L — Google review
Zero Stars. Typical junk souvenirs, only went in because other people in our group wanted to shop a little bit. Figured I’d get a cool T shirt but then after we were shown the price they charged us double what we were told. Will be disputing the charge with the bank but don’t waste your time or money it’s worse than most.
Alyssa T — Google review
Mixed impressions. On one hand, there are so many cool and beautiful things you’ll want to buy and take home. On the other hand, the sellers are overly pushy, practically forcing you to make a purchase. They often double the prices at first and offer you a “discount,” but in the end, the same souvenir might cost less in a shopping mall without any discount. Many shops here sell the exact same souvenirs. I strongly recommend taking the time to walk through all the shops here, then check out a few malls, compare prices, and only then decide what to buy.
Nika N — Google review
Avoid this place. Everything is every expensive. Fiance tried to buy flip flop, they said $1200 for them. We said to no thank you. They said $1000. We still said no. And they were annoyed with us. Whatever I'm not getting suckered

Captain Hook Cancun offers an immersive pirate-themed experience onboard replica ships, complete with live action shows, music, and stunts. Guests can enjoy a bar and dinner options while being entertained by a thrilling pirate attack on the crystal clear blue Caribbean waters. The 18th-century reproduction of a Spanish galleon ship adds to the authenticity of the experience.
Hey! Just wanted to share that my experience with the show was fantastic. I highly recommend it to everyone. The pirates like Poseidon, Tolok, Hunter, Perl, and Captain Morgana are some of the most talented I’ve seen. I really enjoyed watching them!
Joseph D — Google review
We first went on the Captain Hook experience in Cancun about seven years ago, just me and my wife, and we remembered it as one of the absolute highlights of our trip. This time, we came back with our kids and it was every bit as brilliant as we remembered. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organised, just like it was all those years ago. There’s never a dull moment, you’re constantly entertained with top-class performances that are both professional and packed with humour, making the whole pirate experience feel incredibly real. The disco was great fun too! Dinner was excellent, and the drinks flowed throughout the evening without a hitch. The short fireworks display at the end was the perfect way to wrap up the night. Overall, it’s a fantastic experience for all ages, and if we’re ever back in Cancun, we’ll definitely spend another evening aboard Captain Hook.
Sergei G — Google review
Make sure you check the weather before you buy tickets if there’s rain don’t go or you will be soaked and freezing because they pump the dining area with air conditioning. $20 docking fee per person and we didn’t even leave the dock! They cram as many people as they can there barely enough room for them to do the show. The lobster was good but not worth $100 for the pretty average sides.
Dorothy D — Google review
Been on many booze and dinner cruises, but this one was the best. A excellent deal for the amount of entertainment provided! Highly recommend the VIP, buy a bottle and get the best drink service, 1st to eat, and excellent seats on the upper deck over looking all the action. This cruise is MC'd by the private captain and the entertainment is immersive, inclusive, and non stop from the moment you board, until you depart. The daiquiri and pina coladas were very good. The dinner was also good. This is a do not miss attraction. We showed up early to board and were 1st in line.
Justin F — Google review
Fun time! I read a review about not bothering to pay for the VIP seats and they were right! You'll have a better experience if you are on the deck. Despite the winds that picked up the boat was comfortable and the food was pretty good. The whole thing was well done...plenty of drinks.

It was our first time visiting Cancun, and we really enjoyed the Captain Hook Show. Smee was so funny, energetic, and friendly — he made the night a lot of fun. The other actors were great too, and the whole show was entertaining from beginning to end. Definitely worth checking out when you’re in Cancun.
Yue L — Google review
Completely not kid friendly. Semi strip club vibe with drinking games for adults? Sexy moves and butt shaking? Are you serious? Food was fine, but cleanliness is out the window. Bathroom was a joke. The show was only good at the end, the first two hours was a waste of time. It was mostly in Spanish. At the end the two ships are together with a pretty cool sword fight, but view is hard to get and it again dragged on. Rebrand it as a dance club on a boat with some pirate themes and alcoholic games instead of pirate ships. I was on the second ship not the first with Jack Sparrow, maybe the acting there was better.

Playa Delfines, located at km 19.5 of the Hotel Zone in Cancun, is a quintessential beach destination with its long white-sand shore and shallow waters. While not ideal for swimming, it offers a perfect setting for lounging and enjoying the views as there are no hotels or resorts on this stretch of the shore. The area also features the multicolored Cancun sign, providing an opportunity for captivating photos to spice up your social media.
A wonderful beach with free amenities like showers, sinks, changing rooms, and umbrellas. You can buy fresh, delicious coconuts and chilled bottled water right on the beach for a small fee. The sea is a stunning shade of turquoise, and the water is so gentle it feels like it's caressing your skin.
Nika N — Google review
Nice Beach with a Few Caveats This is a beautiful beach spot in Cancun that offers some convenience but also comes with a few limitations. One of the biggest perks is the available parking—something that’s often hard to find in the area. If you’re driving, this alone makes it worth considering. The beach itself is clean and scenic, perfect for sunbathing, relaxing, or enjoying the view. Showers and restroom facilities are available, which is a nice bonus, but be aware that all services, including the facilities, are turned off by 5 PM. This can be inconvenient if you’re planning to stay later into the evening. The water is stunning, but the current is extremely strong here and can be quite dangerous, especially for children or inexperienced swimmers. It’s definitely something to keep in mind before going in too deep. One downside is that there are no chair or umbrella rentals, so be sure to bring your own if you plan to stay a while. Overall, it’s a solid beach for a quick visit or a few hours of sun, but it’s best suited for prepared visitors who don’t mind a more rugged experience.
Christian R — Google review
We visited Dolphin Beach on September 2nd and 3rd, 2025. Parking can be tricky — if you arrive after 11 am, it may be hard to find a spot close to the beach. The beach itself is very nice: it has free “mushroom tents” for shade, the sea is clean, and the bottom is sandy with no corals. On both days there were big waves, and some seaweed only appeared later in the afternoon (around 4 pm). Facilities are basic: free washrooms and showers are available, but there’s no toilet paper (vendors sell it just outside). There are also no food or drink stalls on the beach, so you’ll need to bring your own or walk about 7–10 minutes to the nearest Go Mart. Overall, a clean beach with good shade and nice swimming conditions, but plan ahead for parking and supplies.
Sergey P — Google review
The beach looks very nice, clean, wide and long, with perfect send. It definitely worth visiting. I think that it is actually the main attraction in Cancun.
Mike — Google review
(JUNE 2025) This a PUBLIC beach right behind the Cancun Sign. During summer, there's a lot of seaweed that smells like rotten egg and the water current is very strong, not recommended to swim if you're not confident. Their lifeguard services, indoor/outdoor showers, and restroom closes at 5pm so if you're planning to stay to wait for sunset or even at night, good luck! We went around the time it was sunrise and sunset to avoid the crowd, so the parking situation wasn't that bad. I believe its free, just double check the signs.
Kirk A — Google review
Nice beach I visited on Friday mid day so not crowded and if you lucky you can find some shade. I can compare this place easily to Isla Mujeres but it's local and you don't need to take a ferry to get there.
Rafal S — Google review
That place was amazing.Everyone can swim here for free .there are life guard on duty to see if water is safe for swimming, that time it was wavy and they said it’s dangerous to swim .Many people here taking photos and photographers offering services. There is a washroom as well .

This is a perfect place to spend an afternoon! Free palapas and warm Caribbean water. It was delightful. Be aware, there is no place to buy food in the surrounding area! You’ll need to bring your own stuff or find an OXXO/7 Eleven a few miles down. Sargassum is also a major issue. Contrary to what we were told initially, Sargassum is pretty prominent. Not to fret. It’s bearable. There’s also a tractor that drives up and down the beach all day to try to remove as much of the sargassum as possible.

Playa Langosta is a beautiful white-sand beach located at km 5 of the Hotel Zone in Cancun. It's known for its clear, shallow waters, making it perfect for families with children. The beach offers amenities such as a playground, public restrooms, and waterfront restaurants where you can enjoy delicious shrimp tacos. Additionally, there are play areas for kids including inflatables in the sea for an extra fee and a free children's play park near the entrance.
Of all the public beaches in Cancun, this one is my favorite. Unlike the other public beaches on the Caribbean side of Cancun, this beach is big, wide, and super spacious. There’s so much room to spread out and soak up the sun. While the sea does have its share of seaweed, you can wade out pretty far before it becomes an issue. I’m definitely coming back here!
Medium_nice — Google review
Gorgeous FREE beach. Plenty of space to spend out. There is also a market right in the park before the beach, and some other vendors. I could’ve spent all day there.
Jordan G — Google review
This beach has a lovely, peaceful charm to it—perfect if you’re looking to escape the crowds and soak in a laid-back coastal vibe. The waters are calm and very shallow, making it ideal for wading, relaxing, or just enjoying the serenity of the shoreline. It has that small marina feel, with a few boats gently bobbing in the water and locals quietly going about their day. You really get the sense of a tight-knit, easygoing community here. The atmosphere is slow-paced and relaxing—great for families, couples, or anyone looking to unwind without the noise of a tourist-heavy beach. It’s also a nice spot for light water activities like paddleboarding or kayaking, given the low tide and gentle waves. One of the only drawbacks is parking—it can be a real challenge to find a spot, especially during peak hours or on weekends. There aren’t many designated areas, and street parking fills up fast, so it’s best to come early or be prepared for a short walk. That said, the peaceful setting and cozy marina feel more than make up for the inconvenience. If you’re after a quiet day by the water in a place that still feels a bit like a local secret, this beach is a great pick.

Great public beach, shallow family friendly, with lifeguards watching over errant tourists getting out of their depth. Very minimal shopping, so bring what you need. Parking fills quick and good bathrooms and showers to remove sand. Been twice this week!

The beach is clean and very wide, is a very quiet spot. There is no much space in the water to swim and is not deep. Very few sargazo in the sand.

For a public beach near the hotel areas- not terrible. There was some trash out around the beach, and it seemed primarily for locals. Parking was hard to find. Water still had a lot of sargassum late into the season. Overall not bad though. Was enjoyable enough and not bad to finish a day.

There are much better beaches in Cancun. This one is very shallow and has more boat traffic once it's not as shallow. Maybe good for children under 5 who can't swim. One plus is that there are showers. Playa Marlín is better.

Located in Cancun's Hotel Zone, the museum showcases over one hundred famous figures across 23 different scenes. The experience provides an entertaining and educational way to learn about influential personalities throughout history.
Wax figures were nice but for the cost we expected to see more...(think Madame Tussaud's). Photo ops were great as well!
Erika J — Google review
Mildly entertaining at best. We only went because of a deal where you could pay $2 USD on top of the nearby ferris wheel fee to go to the wax museum and Ripley's believe it or not. I would have rather skipped it. The wax statues are not very impressive with .lst showing signs of age and several were vandalized/damaged. Several of the statues were not even wax but just plastic molds, some of which were badly painted and showed similar signs of aging, damage, and vandalism. It all was just very underwhelming and felt very out-dated. I wouldn't go again and don't recommend going in the first place.

Pro. Museum wax figures were actually awesome, pretty freaky how real they look, the plastic ones (superheroes and others) not so much, I presume that you can "touch" them so it's easier to have a sturdy ones for this. Con. So you pay some pesos to enter this place, obviously you'll want to take pictures with the figures, but while you walk through the museum there is always a this person telling you that you can't take a picture of some characters, you have to buy them the pictures. We're in 2022, I don't need your camera, I already paid some money, let me take a photo of Sponge Bob with my 4yo daughter. No, they even threaten me to charge me for this. Update your business models guys.
Xavier S — Google review
The characters are okay, not all of them looks similar to their real. The Chavo del 8's section will never be available. They don't let yo take photos only to the characters in some sections, you just need to pay for the photo with you on it. They are not cleared with the information at the beginning, I think that the quality-price is not really worthless
Sandra G — Google review
Good AC inside! 100 creations yet some needed signage so you knew who you were looking at. Very nice staff. About $22 USD per person. There are photo opportunities there either through them or you can take yourself. Some items are copyrighted so you could only take pics where the red carpet areas were located.

While it does attract some tourists, the majority of its visitors are locals who come to shop for fresh ingredients and unique artisanal products.
Our favourite market to come to when we’re in Quintana Roo. Much better prices than if you were to go to Mercado 28 and the vendors are not super pushy and are very helpful. I’ve gotten a few blankets and pottery pieces here for great prices.

We went today to buy souvenirs and see if everything the previous reviews say is true. There are souvenir shops with very good prices. Before you buy, take a walk to see the variety and see where the prices are. We bought some quality gifts at very good prices. There is not the variety that was available, for example, at the stalls in Chichen Itza, but for last-minute shopping it was good!
Ιωαννης Α — Google review
This market was so much fun! There were very few tourists and mostly locals, which gave a much more authentic feel. I found handmade products for a very reasonable price and I found the sellers were not pushy like they are at market 28. You can buy anything from food, to handmade sandles, bags, pottery, clothing to souvenirs and party supply goods. Some stores take credit card but most take cash in Pesos or American dollars. I'd definitely go there again:)

Mercado 23 in Cancún is a great local market where you can experience authentic Mexican culture. It’s less touristy than Mercado 28, with stalls selling fresh produce, spices, handmade crafts, and local foods. The atmosphere is lively and colorful, and prices are generally reasonable. A perfect place to see how locals shop and to pick up some genuine souvenirs or snacks!
Lily B — Google review
This was the most authentic and inexpensive Mercado I visited in Cancun. Show up with only pesos, they will charge you a tax if you have dollars. You can get all your souvenirs here, from T-shirts, to key chains, to shot glasses, and trinkets. They have a produce market with fresh veggies and fruits along with a meat market. You can buy just about anything here for a quarter of the price at any other market. You can have lunch at the restaurants and everything is made from scratch and super tasty. Take a backpack or your own bags and shop like you’ve been there before. It’s not a touristy area, you’ll catch more locals or native Mexicans at this Mercado. The people are friendly and welcoming.
Cassirae R — Google review
Lots of nice shirts, hats, magnets & bags etc at great low prices. 2 adult t shirts 4 children t shirts for around $16 . Felt very safe. Just remember the street you got of your transportation at😆
Jackye C — Google review
This market I liked a lot more than Market 28. Here you can find local foods, fruits and some generic souvenirs. I liked the quality of the fruits, even though they are more expensive than in a local supermarket. There is also a small free parking and a lot of restaurants.
AB — Google review
This is not to be confused with market 28 which is where tourists go to get T-shirts and trinkets. This is market 23 where the locals go shopping and eat. It is a walk through market with vegetables, fruits, and meats. there is clothing and jewelry and other household items to shop for as well. There are lots of local small street food areas and mini restaurants. I did not see many tourists here as it is not a typical tourist attraction. You should be aware that there is no air condition any of the buildings and no public restrooms that I could find. However, there is a pay bathroom that you can use for five pesos. They give you about 10 to 12 squares of toilet paper when you pay to get in. You will need to ask directions to be able to find this, so knowing the word banos (bathroom in Spanish)is very helpful. 😄 It was certainly an adventure to tour the Market 23!

The Torre Escénica del Embarcadero de Cancún, located at Xcaret park, is a must-visit attraction offering breathtaking panoramic views of the coastal area. This 80-meter tower features a rotating observation deck that slowly ascends to provide stunning vistas of Cancun's landmarks, including the Caribbean, Laguna Nichupte, and downtown Cancun. Visitors can enjoy an informative recorded summary of the city's history and geography while taking in the scenic beauty from the top.
I went to Cancun for a day tour and I didn't know my ferry ticket included a ride on the towel! That was a very nice surprise! The ride is smooth, the installations are modern, clean and beautiful. The scenic views you can get from up there are priceless!
Daisy H — Google review
Specifically used Xcaret ferry to go on this tower. Never indicated online the tower has been closed for some time when made reservations. Otherwise I would have used Ultramar..Ultramar is faster, cheaper and departs more often for Isla Mujeres than Xcaret does.. typical Cancun scam...
BPM 8 — Google review
A very cool tower with scenic views of Cancun from above! This ticket to the tower is included with your purchase of Xcaret sailing ferry tickets. I had tickets to the ferry to Isla Mujeres and once you return to Cancun you get in line for this tower. The views from above are beautiful especially the time I returned which was sunset hour. The tower moves slowly up and then moves in a circle for about 10 minutes. You get great 360 degrees views . Definitely do not forget to do this once your ferry is back in Cancun. 10/10 would do this again.
Guillermo R — Google review
An insanely expensive service. They want too much for 10-15 minutes at altitude, which is probably why they have almost no visitors. And those who have taken the ride write in reviews that the interior is not very clean, and the panoramic windows are cloudy or unwashed. It is clearly not worth it.
Nika N — Google review
Believe this is the tallest building in Cancun. Gives you an absolutely amazing view of the Hotel Zone, the Nichupte Lagoon on one side and the turquoise blue Caribbean sea on the other side. The viewing platform ascends pretty fast up the tower and then once you are at the top it rotates to give you a great 360 degrees view. Admission is included with a visit to any of the Xcaret theme parks but definitely worth paying otherwise as well!
Ninad J — Google review
Good views of Cancun coastline and the hotels region. It is a bit expensive, end to end lasts around eight minutes. There is general commentary in English and Spanish. Keep your camera handy for the shots, and keep the lens as close to the glass as you can to reduce reflections in your images.
Mini R — Google review
Overpriced (but that's everything in Cancun for tourists). Despite the price; it's a very good experience. It goes up almost 100 meters and slowly rotates for several minutes so you can get a great view of the entire island, bay, ocean, and city.
Dan — Google review
We had a complimentary pass because we had purchased admission tickets to Xcaret parks. Since it was free and the tower was close to where we stayed, we decided to make use of it. The way up was smooth and we saw the stunning views of Cancun all the way to Isla Mujeres from the tower with the voice commentary explaining the views. We recommend going there around sunset to catch the sun set. However on the way down there was a jolt and we were not coming down. There was a technical failure and they let us know about it after the lights kept going on and off and we were seated in mid air about 100feet above the ground within the rotating capsule of the tower. The crew told us it was a technical failure only after 10minutes. But they somehow managed to bring down the capsule very slowly (inch by inch) after a thrilling half an hour. Later they apologized and said it happened rarely and that it would always be fixed and that the tower capsule would not really fall down. The views from the top were mesmerizing but except for the technical failure the tower was worth the visit.

Island
Isla Mujeres is a picturesque island that captivates visitors with its tranquil beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and an array of resorts and restaurants. Just a short distance from Cancun, this charming destination offers something for everyone. Whether you prefer the lively atmosphere of Playa Norte with its crystal-clear waters and beach bars or the serene beauty found along the southern coast, Isla Mujeres has diverse beaches to suit every traveler’s taste.
My wife and I recently had the pleasure of escaping to the sun-drenched shores of Isla Mujeres, and it was a day we'll long remember. The island offers a perfect blend of laid-back charm and breathtaking natural beauty, with two particular highlights that made our trip truly special: a delightful golf cart adventure around the island and the awe-inspiring vistas from Punta Sur. From the moment we hopped onto our golf cart, a sense of freedom and adventure washed over us. Cruising along the island's winding roads with the warm Caribbean breeze in our hair was an experience in itself. This mode of transport is not only practical for navigating the island's charming streets but also allows for spontaneous stops to capture the perfect photo, dip your toes in the turquoise waters, or simply pause to appreciate the vibrant local life. The journey itself became a cherished part of our exploration, offering a unique and personal way to discover the island's hidden gems at our own pace. The culmination of our island tour was arriving at Punta Sur, the southernmost point of Isla Mujeres. Here, at the "Cliff of the Dawn," we were greeted by some of the most stunning panoramic views we have ever witnessed. The dramatic cliffs meeting the endless expanse of the turquoise and sapphire Caribbean Sea is a sight that truly takes your breath away. We spent a considerable amount of time simply mesmerized by the scenery, watching the waves crash against the rocks below and feeling the immense power and beauty of nature. The area is also home to a fascinating sculpture garden and the remnants of a Mayan temple dedicated to the goddess Ixchel, adding a touch of cultural intrigue to the natural splendour. For any couple seeking a romantic and memorable day trip, we cannot recommend this itinerary enough. The combination of the fun and freedom of a golf cart ride with the sheer magnificence of Punta Sur creates a perfect blend of activity and serene contemplation. It's a day that encapsulates the very essence of a Caribbean paradise.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 First time visiting Isla Mujeres and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The island is stunning—full of color, charm, and a laid-back vibe that makes you want to slow down and just be. I chose to walk everywhere instead of renting a golf cart or scooter, and I’m glad I did. The streets can get very congested with tourist traffic during the day, but early mornings and right after sunset are peacefully quiet and magical. The locals were kind and welcoming, especially when I was just walking around soaking in the beauty. I’ve seen some reviews about people feeling “hustled,” and I have to say—this is how many residents make their living. It didn’t feel pushy to me at all—just people working hard in a tourist-heavy place. Most locals didn’t speak English, but that didn’t bother me one bit. They treated me with kindness and respect, and that’s all I ask for anywhere I go. Two stand-out spots that I absolutely loved: Mango Cafe and Isla Brewing Company. The food, the service, the atmosphere—5 stars across the board. I’ll definitely be back. This island has a special energy. 🏝️💙

Beautiful beaches!!! Very busy beaches though. Staff at the beach restaurants & loungers we went to were kind of MEH. Not the best or friendliest customer service I’ve had in Mexico. Bathrooms were sometimes ok but you will have to pay or tip which should not be a surprise for most that have gone to Mexico before. I prefer Cozumel as the customer service seems better and you can find less busy beach areas.
Stella M — Google review
So hot! You get swarmed as soon as you get to the island with stubborn sales people. Hard to find a spot for shade or a restroom. The hotels on the coast line charge like 700 pesos for the shade. Crazy. I wouldn't do it again probably.
Eva — Google review
Okay for a one-time visit. Transportation on the island is mostly by golf carts and mopeds. The island has a noticeable smell. The turtle farm has been closed since 2021 and was still closed as of September 2025. Locals often approach tourists by checking their wristbands to see which hotel they’re staying at. They’ll say things like, ‘Hey amigo, remember me? It’s me Ricardo, I work part-time at your hotel. Come meet my uncle, he has a shop—please buy something.’ There are many people doing this, so be prepared. Prices on the island are among the highest. If you want to buy souvenirs from Mexico, the best and most affordable options are at the pyramids from local vendors. Massages on the island are also overpriced compared to the quality you receive. Many masseuses claim to be professionals with two-year diplomas, but in my opinion they need more practice. The service does not match the high prices they charge. That said, you can still find some nice places on the opposite side of the island from the arrival area. Check video attached.

Nestled in the vibrant Punta Cancun at kilometer 9.5 along the Caribbean coastline, Playa Gaviota Azul, also known as Playa Forum, stands out as a must-visit public beach. This stunning stretch of sand is not only famous for its soft white sands and crystal-clear waters but also for its proximity to lively hotspots like Coco Bongo and Mandala. Whether you're looking to party or simply relax under the sun, this beach offers an inviting atmosphere that caters to all.
Great spot! Dog friendly beach, clean and calm waves!

Not big tides and less sea weed than other beaches. But no umbrella/shade and beach bed. No washroom, showers around. It is should be easy to make a fountain/showers for people to clean up from the sand. Weekends are busy with many people.

Beach and see are beautiful. But if you are coming from Europe, be careful. I took bacteria in water, all the time in Mexico I had problem with stomach. Only my friends who didn't swimm, pass without bacteria. Water smells like rotten eggs because of the bacterias inside. Whole city smell on rotten eggs. My friendly recommendation is to avoid Cancun. With same money Thailand is much better option and more safety, water is not smell on eggs and country is safe.

Best beach best swim in cancun. The breakwater makes for waters calm enough to actually swim in. Great for families or anyone who actually wanted to get in the water. Clean. Fantastic. Easy access not too far of a walk from the entry by the coco bongo and 7-11.

The best beach to swim in the area - calm, there is a little tad pool for kids to splash and swim in, and there are so many little fishes that you’ll see.

My fav beach in Cancun… long and wide strip of white powdered and cool sand post card scene… Right behind Plaza Forum Shopping Mall, at Kilometer 9.5 of Cancun’s Hotel Zone lies Gaviota Azul Beach. It is one of the favorite beaches for tourists due to its long and wide strip of white powdered and cool sand as well as the many bars and beach clubs around it. In Cancun, I have been to 8-9 beaches from north to south and found this beach very beautiful. I had been to Playa Norte but due to storm reef-seaweed was all over the shore so could not enjoy there. And I found this beach next to Playa Norte. It is right behind the Hard-rock café-coco bongo nightclubs. You can go inside the water and still you 'll find yourself till waist height. There is one small hill and you can have perfect postcard picture from here with turquoise beach, building, sun and sand. Vendors are there to rent you out reclining chairs and umbrellas for 200-300 pesos. It gets pretty crowded during Spring Break as many events take place on it. Even though most of the time the water is calm, when the wind blows hard the waves get pretty big; an opportunity not missed by local surfers. As this is in the hotel zone, you 'll have to find an access point. Right down to coco bongo signboard, you can find small street going towards the beach. Take that. We found it that good, we even came In the evening to sit on the hill. Breezy wind, waves, sunset, making the time more beautiful. If this beach is not better than not even less than Playa Norte beach.

Umbelievable the various shades of blue and green. Love this beach. I like the Mandala beach club where you get either a big lounge bed or chaise lounges and umbrella. You pay a fee but you use that to order food and drinks. An excellent way to spend an afternoon.

Cancun Sign, located at Playa Delfines, offers a picturesque spot to capture the essence of your vacation. The vibrant and iconic sign marks the entrance to the unspoiled beach, providing a perfect backdrop for your photos. While waiting for your turn to snap a picture with the sign, you can enjoy the shallow turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea and relax under palapas or indulge in reasonably priced massages. Despite being a busy spot with limited parking, volunteers are available to assist visitors.
Cute CANCUN sign with ocean in the background for photos. People formed a lineup to take turns taking photos, waited about 5 minutes for my turn. Tour busses show up to let groups take photos so the line can get long with them there. Parking lot was full, but we took a motorcycle so we pulled over for 5 minutes and left. Visited on a Saturday afternoon.
Angela T — Google review
This stunning tourist destination would benefit from improved organization, including expanded parking facilities. A redesigned Cancun sign could add visual appeal, and additional seating would offer visitors a comfortable place to relax while waiting for the sunset. Visitors often wait a long time in line to take a photo in front of the sign, creating a noticeable queue.
Dr. S — Google review
Popular Cancun Sign in the middle of zona hotelera. There is a very long line and people waiting try to rush you to finish right away. We went back around sunrise at 6:15am and was lucky there was no one there! Parking can be hard during peak hours but since we went early, there was free parking everywhere.

First time in Cancun and I choose to go on my birthday. OMG, we had an amazing time. Everyone was so happy and welcoming. Hotel was beautiful and ocean view was breathtaking. 10/10 highly recommend.
Tia S — Google review
Iconic! I recommend waiting for sunrise or sunset, we were there closer to noon and the sun was so strong the sky looked so flat in the picture. The beach is gorgeous, absolutely stunning. Everyone talks about lines and everything but the key is to beat the tour buses. If you're lucky, you can be on the tail end of one, offer to snap some pics and they'll return the favor. There are national guard all over the place, it's incredibly safe. The beach is at the bottom of the steps, the water is the most beautiful shade of blue and the sand doesn't stick to you. The best souvenir you can take home!
KC — Google review
Went there on our way to Playa del Carmen to have a picture souvenir from our trip with friends, was night so no wait time to take the picture and still can see some of the beautiful beach as well
Guillermo D — Google review
We discovered that there are several locations with Cancun signs, but this one is the original. It’s a bit farther from the bustling hotel zone party area, leaning toward the south. Expect queues for photo opportunities—it all depends on the time of day. When we visited around 6 pm, it took us about 15 minutes. In the backdrop lies Playa Delfines beach, a hidden gem boasting soft, tawny sands and impossibly turquoise blue waters.

If you're looking for an unforgettable diving adventure, look no further than Only Bubbles! This incredible dive shop offers a range of experiences, from PADI Open Water Certification to snorkeling in stunning cenotes and the vibrant waters of Cozumel. With expert instructors like Fran at the helm, you can expect personalized guidance that prioritizes safety and comfort.
We did two days of diving, guided by Fran, on our recent trip to Cancun. I hadn't been diving in 5 years and was a bit nervous but Fran was truly an incredible teacher: patient, calm, kind and clear with his instructions. He instantly made me feel safe and reminded me of my skills. The Museo and reef dive were cool, but the star experience were definitely the cenote dives we did. Those were truly awe inspiring, we've never done or seen anything like that. Everything about the cenotes: driving into the jungle to access them, the differences between them, the unique environment, just left us borderline speechless. If you have a chance to dive the cenotes, take it! You won't regret it.

I was in Cancun for my 25th Anniversary and went on the my 100th dive with Only Bubbles. Fran was our dive guide and very knowledgeable of the Cenote we dove. All 3 dives were amazing and unique. Even better we dove each Cenote alone. I would recommend diving with Only Bubbles and make sure you request Fran. The authentic Mexican restaurant he took us to was prob the best food I ate all week while in Cancun.

I had a phenomenal dive experience with Frank and his team. Thanks to a Black Girl Blue World dive trip, I had the good fortune of diving with him and Isaac on 3 different days in open water and the sinotes. A fourth day I dove with Frank and another dive instructor. They all truly care for the safety of their divers and share their love and respect for the ocean by providing great guidance above and below the water. They have a knack for spotting animals everyone else swims past. Again and again they alerted us to spots with hidden fish (hello camouflaged rock fish and 10-ft. sleeping nurse shark!), and as a newer diver, I was able to improve key dive techniques thanks to their patient instruction and expert feedback. Dive with them for an incredible experience. My next trip back to Mexico won't be complete without more dives with Only Bubbles!

Had the best time diving at Cozumel!!!! Even though I was the only person going to Cozumel that day (feel like most places might cancel if it was only one person), Fran still went through the lengths of travelling to Cozumel with me - guiding me through the dives, including a quick refresher, explaining the dive sites, providing tips on better diving, pointing out the different marine animals, ultimately ensuring that I had a safe and fun dive!!! This goes to show his dedication towards providing an amazing experience. Highly recommend! Thank you for the private tour!!! Will definitely come back for lion fish hunting next time :)

Only Bubbles is the best dive center in Cancun! The owner Fran is so attentive and engaging and he truly cares that you have a beautiful time. His passion for diving is infectious! He takes certified divers to the most exciting ocean dives in Cancun and Cozumel. He also shows people the magical Cenotes nearby (some are secret locations that not many people know). And for new divers who are learning, his instruction is clear and thorough. I’ve personally gotten every one of my certifications with Fran as my instructor: Open Water, Advanced, Rescue & Nitrox. Then I started to take my friends, family, and now big groups of people to dive with him. He goes above and beyond to make everyone feel safe and taken care of while having fun. If you have a chance to dive with him, run don’t walk! Book it and thank me later 🩵

I had an amazing first-time diving experience while completing my Open Water PADI Certification with Only Bubbles Dive! My instructor, Fran, was incredibly patient, clear in communication, and made sure I got the basics right. I struggled with equalizing during descents, but Fran guided me safely and ensured I was comfortable throughout. Fran also emphasized best practices for underwater communication, such as regularly checking air supply and staying aware of dive conditions. We practiced emergency situation simulations, which made me feel confident and well-prepared for future dives. The dive shop even provided seasickness medicine the day before my certification dives to ensure I felt my best—such a thoughtful touch! Fran took excellent underwater photos and encouraged me to carry my own camera on my final dive, making it even more special. I enjoyed every moment of this experience and felt safe and well-supported the entire time. Highly recommend Only Bubbles Dive for their professionalism, attention to detail, and care for their students! 🌊🐠✨

Studios Downtown Cancun offers a unique experience away from the bustling Hotel Zone, providing an authentic feel of the city. The guest studios provide excellent value with amenities such as A/C, hot water, fast wifi, and good security. The location is ideal for exploring downtown Cancun's local history and enjoying street food. While there are some minor areas for improvement like adding more hooks and providing extra supplies for longer stays, guests appreciate the cleanliness and perfect location of the studios.
We loved our stay here. You should understand it's guest studios, not a hotel, so no one else will be entering or cleaning your room during your stay. It was an excellent value with good A/C, hot water all the time, drinking water, fast wifi, no evidence of bugs, good security & privacy, soap & shampoo, even a clothing iron. Small details they could improve: add some more hooks for hand towels / swimsuits, and provide an extra blanket & extra roll of toilet paper.

Avert your eyes from this place! I can't stress enough how awful this experience was. We booked a studio for three nights but checked out early because it was unbearable. From the start, the conditions were shocking. The place was filthy—hair and stains all over the floor, mold everywhere in the bathroom, and both the towels and bed were stained. To make matters worse, the shower didn't work, and the entire studio flooded within minutes. Our belongings got soaked, and we had to clean up the mess ourselves with towels and a mop we found. The bed was disgusting, and the pool looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. When we arrived, the place hadn't been cleaned at all, and there was zero communication from the host. We reached out for help several times, but the landlord did nothing. We were told to contact Booking.com ourselves for a refund, but we never got any compensation for the nights we couldn’t stay there. The attached photos tell the whole story. Honestly, it's better to sleep outside than to waste your money here. This place is a scam, and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere!

Embark on a thrilling parasailing adventure in Cancun, Mexico, and soar through the air for 10-12 minutes to take in breathtaking views of Isla Mujeres, Nichupte Lagoon, and the Cancun Hotel Zone. Communicate with the boat crew using a walkie-talkie to customize your flying experience. This activity allows you to combine the beauty of land and sea into one exhilarating experience.
Absolutely amazing! Awaited two days due to the too strong wind and finally it was ok to fly. The whole flight was smooth, and it was amazing to fly above 260 ft ocean with the stunning view of the ocean, Hotel Zone and Isla Mujeres. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Dolphin Discovery Isla Mujeres is a top-notch dolphin experience located just south of the stunning island of Isla Mujeres, easily accessible via a 30-minute ferry ride from Cancun's Hotel Zone. The park offers an unforgettable opportunity to swim and interact with dolphins, as well as encounter other captivating sea creatures like sea lions, turtles, and manatees.
2nd time. First time was 14 years ago. Walk-in visit. Purchased Royal Swim, the best package like last visit. Dolphin encounter for 1 hour was amazing. Lunch was delicious. Spent the whole day there. Will definitely go back on my next visit to Isla Mujeres. Go there early to enjoy the whole experience. If you’re in a rush, you’ll not have as much fun. I didn’t purchase the pictures because they were pricey besides I still have my coffee cup with my dolphin kiss on it from 14 years ago 😂. Now they want $40 for 1 picture 😳. $90 for the set. You can decide if you want them. No pressure. If you have the money, by all means buy them. Especially if it’s your first time.
Nitayaporn D — Google review
The Catamaran crew were excellent, particularly Juan. However, there was a discrepancy between the information provided by TUI and the reality at the park. The activities offered by TUI were not available at the park, and we, along with others, were unable to participate in additional activities due to rough water. Considering the significant cost of the experience and the limited participation, we believe some compensation would have been appropriate. The compensation we received was insufficient, but we understand it is difficult to address this matter now that we have returned home.

Amazing time as usual. Swam with dolphin and manatee encounter. Food was amazing better then my hotel and was included and basic soft drinks was a nice touch. Nice catamaran back also to cancun. Nice pictures but exspensive so better if your in a group otherwise £30 per photo or £110 for all your photos we had 80 and extra £25 if you wanted the video also but we didn't, for dolphins your not allowed your phone so you either buy the photo or you dont. Lockers are free but you need to give ID or deposit for the key and then its replaced/given back ok return. We swam with sharks and Stingrays with no extra charge so that was a nice experience. Friendly staff Free WiFi A good times, we paid about £250 for 3people but depends where you book as i know can be much more. Also animals are looked after perfectly.

Dolphin encounter was a lot of fun. A very unique experience. They also take photos of you when you are playing with the dolphins. The pictures are quite pricey but a great experience overall.
Karen L — Google review
De poor manatees are trapped in way too little spaces and stressed (going around in circles all the time). The dolphins look ok but honestly, they do 7 shows a day and every two hours so their skin can regenerate. Babies are born in captivity. They hardly give any proper education about their wellbeing so it feels abusive and not eco. I regret coming with my daughter.
Joni S — Google review
We had a wonderful time swimming with the manatees. It was such a fun experience. The lunch buffet and drinks were also delicious. Great value and a great time! Would definitely do again!
Amie S — Google review
The facility is well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and professional, making the experience enjoyable from start to finish. Swimming with the dolphins was absolutely amazing, and you could tell the dolphins were well-cared for. The trainers were knowledgeable and created a fun, interactive environment that made the experience memorable. The location itself is beautiful, with clear waters and a serene atmosphere that added to the experience. The activities were well-organized, and the dolphins were delightful to interact with. It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. However, the reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the pricing for the photos. The pictures themselves were high-quality, but the cost was insanely high, which was a bit disappointing after such a wonderful time. It felt like the prices were unnecessarily steep, considering the overall cost of the experience. Other than that, everything was great. If you’re willing to look past the photo prices, it’s an amazing place to enjoy some time with dolphins in a beautiful setting.

Swim with Dolphins
Delphinus Punta Cancún in Mexico offers an incredible experience to interact with dolphins. Visitors can swim and play with these intelligent mammals, making it a fun activity for both kids and adults. While the prices for various activities are on the higher side, the personal and knowledgeable instructors ensure a memorable experience. The facility provides options to purchase photos or photo packages, although they come at a steep price.
An absolutely unforgettable experience at Delphinus Punta Cancun! Swimming with the dolphins was magical—the staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and truly cared about the well-being of the animals. The facility was clean and well-maintained, and the interaction with the dolphins was both fun and educational. The trainers made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe, and the photos captured some incredible moments. If you’re in Cancun, this is a must-do experience. Highly recommend!
Cierra P — Google review
Delphinus Punta Cancun, located at the Hyatt Ziva resort, offers a well-organized dolphin experience, but there were several issues that made it less enjoyable than expected. I visited on January 6, 2025, with my six-year-old son while staying at the Grand Fiesta Americana next door. When booking, we were told that someone would meet us at the Grand Fiesta Americana marina area to walk us over. However, no one showed up, so we walked to the Hyatt Ziva ourselves. When we arrived, my wife and son were stopped by security and told they couldn’t enter because they weren’t guests of the resort, even after explaining they were there for the dolphin excursion. I was able to find a staff member who eventually walked us to the right area, but this was an unnecessary hassle that could have been avoided with better communication. Once we checked in, my son and I got ready while my wife was directed to a viewing area on the far side of the dolphin pool. We were told at booking that she could stand near us to take photos, but once we arrived, we were told otherwise. This seemed less about resort policy and more about pushing their professional photo sales. The cost for pictures was excessive—$189 USD for ten photos and over $200 USD for all photos. The actual dolphin experience felt very short. We booked the “ride” package, which was supposed to include 15 activities plus a ride. While the ride itself was fun, it lasted about ten seconds. The other activities were also brief, including splashing, swimming next to the dolphin, a kiss, and touching them. We were also offered extra activities for an additional cost, which wasn’t mentioned when booking. After returning home, I received an email offering to buy photos online. I purchased one for $31 USD, but when I got the download link, it was the wrong picture. I contacted them to fix the mistake, but they insisted it was the photo I selected, which wasn’t the case. I’ve done dolphin experiences before that were included with catamaran trips, and those lasted longer with more time in the water. The pricing for photos at those locations was also much more reasonable. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this experience due to the short duration, the difficulty accessing the venue, overpriced photos, and poor customer service when trying to correct a mistake. 5/10
R P — Google review
It has been a great experience, specially for my daughter. This is the first time we swim with dolphins and I do not regret of doing this at this time. People at the site are very helpful and service-oriented, Mexicans are always triying to please you. The only thing that I do not like is the fact that nobody says anything about the different photo packages at the begining of the experience, all that come at the end, seems the company makes more money if the do not tell you the full story initially.
Fer M — Google review
Dolphins in captivity is an awful idea. Swimming with dolphins in captivity is disgraceful. The dolphins can't do much about being held in captivity. The people paying to swim with them, can act responsibly if they choose to. I think everyone can find another enjoyable activity besides being entertained at the expense of the animals right to exist freely. I notice the canned responses from the management of this facility. The plain fact of the matter is that these dolphins do not belong in captivity and the people who are paying to experience swimming with them are not doing some wonderful conservation experience. They are exploiting animals who should not be held captive. Plain and simple. Management replies to all negative reviews with one or two canned responses. Save the "scripted" reply for someone who might fall for it. That someone is not me.
Alice T — Google review
The dolphins need to be let go. This is so inhumane and their tank has nothing but shallow rocks. They are used to swimming in 10000s of miles of ocean. They were fighting a bit, which shows their mental state im sure is incredibly depressed. Its like us living in a kitchen sink. So sad. Not many people even want to do this part of the hotel.
April H — Google review
The conditions where the dolphins live is horrible. Do NOT support this hotel. This is animal abuse. Edit- I read previous responses. Of course their habitat was designed ‘scientifically’ to keep the dolphins alive, that’s how you make money. Prisons are also designed to keep humans alive.
Cristina L — Google review
Amazing experience of a lifetime. It's wonderful interacting with the dolphins. We did the fin ride, which was super fun. Just that the digital album is super expensive. Don't forget to bargain...
Nitin C — Google review
SCAM. They cared more about the pictures and the actual experience. They wanted me to pay almost $200 for the photos . That’s more than what I paid for my family of three to be in the pool with the dolphins for 20 minutes. We barely got to interact with the dolphins. Such a scam!

Playa Chacmool is a public beach known for its turquoise waters, white-sand shoreline, and big ocean waves. It's a favorite for those who enjoy rough seas due to its strong swell most of the year. Located near Plaza Forum, it offers easy access to stores and restaurants. This quieter and more secluded area is ideal for avoiding crowds and swimming in peace.
It is quite enjoyable spending time on this beach especially on a beautiful sunny day. This is the public beach with easy access. Accessible by public transport (R1 bus) in the hotel zone.

Playa Chac Mool is a public access beach. There are some parking space for pay. There are 7 huts with bench for public access. All others are private. There are some vendors renting umbrella space for $500 pesos ($25 USA). The waves a little rough but very beautiful. Water was just the right temperature in late October. There is a public bathroom for $10 pesos. There used to be free shower to wash up afterwards. Lifeguard is on duty.
Yoon C — Google review
It‘s free. There are a lot of people. There are reefs by the sea. Many people drink beer by the sea, and there are many empty beer cans on the beach. There is a faint smell of hops in the air.

Stunning beach! Super clear water, a magical little cove in the middle of the shore where I sat and sang to the fishies 🥰. Waves were strong but once you passed the break, if you know how to swim very chill. Lifeguards everywhere. No sorgasm today just the usual small bits of sea plant life. Showers and bathroom available. No restaurants ON the beach but literally a 3-4 min walk out to the main you can find a few yummy spots.
Annalee R — Google review
Great public beach with fine white sand and warm water. There were free men’s and women’s washrooms/change rooms which were relatively clean. Limited shaded areas, though there were umbrellas for rent (we were offered a day rate of 500 MXN for a simple umbrella). There’s an Oxxo and Circle K near the public entrance which sell all the snacks and beverages that you’ll need. One downside were the aggressive waves. It was particularly windy on the day of my visit which may have played a part. I can’t comment on the undertow, though it seems as though there are calmer waters for swimming farther north in a coved area.
Dan O — Google review
Amazing public beach with all necessary facilities, like a clean restroom, umbrella services and a life guard. Also saw several police and national guard stop and hang out for awhile. You can also get some music from the resorts nearby. From the street, follow the blue Playa sign. Beach parking is free but you have to ask to enter if the chain is up, which means it's full. Best to come early morning if you're driving. The beach was really clean and free of debris. The water was amazingly blue, especially in polarized sunglass. Definitely bring your snorkel because there's lots of coral/rock formations just beyond the waves. See the photos in my review for more information included on the signs.
Jesse M — Google review
It's a nice beach but without public sun shelters. Here the waves are smaller and it's shallower than Playa Delfines. It's better to visit in the evening when there is no sun and walk to the cape

Lovely public beach, very easily accessible by bus. There's no umbrellas or sunbeds to rent but we didn't mind. The beach is very wide and usually not too crowded. We were always able to find a spot without too many people in the water around us. The water is absolutely beautiful here. We saw the ocean being completely calm and also wavy, so you get the best of both. They rent jet skis on this beach too if you're interested. Bathrooms and showers are located right by the entrance.

Not worth the visit—close or not This spot came recommended by locals as a place to try authentic, homemade food using local ingredients. Unfortunately, the experience fell flat from start to finish. Service was disengaged—no welcome, no recommendations, and no confirmation of our order. It felt like we were just supposed to know what to do. A simple order-at-the-counter system would’ve worked better. The food didn’t redeem the experience. I ordered the Cochinita, which came with tortillas and refried beans—the beans were runny and lacked any real flavor. The chicken version came with a side of thick spaghetti, which felt totally out of place and didn’t pair well. The Sopa de Lima tasted like hot water with lemon—completely bland. And one small but important note: if you do get hot food, eat it fast—the fans around the seating area cool it down quickly, which doesn’t help when the food’s already lukewarm or lacking in flavor. Despite the high number of reviews, it seems more geared toward locals who may have a nostalgic connection to the style of cooking. For visitors, it’s simply not worth the effort. The surrounding neighborhood feels a bit sketchy, and the overall experience just didn’t justify the trip. Whether you’re nearby or thinking about going out of your way—don’t. Not worth the visit, close or not.

We came here for lunch. We had tamales, some tacos, and a plate of cochinita pibil. The taste was very authentic, so were the costumes and the decoration. We had a difficulty to speak in Spanish, but there was one girl that served us in English. The price was also cheap, while the quality was superb.

We had several plates for a family style lunch to try a bit of everything. The food was delicious, the breakfast menu looked even better and hope to return one day for their full breakfast. It’s worth the trip for authentic local food!

This place was recommended by a few people, and it didn't disappoint! Thr cochinita pibil was amazing. The salbutes were also delicious! Dont forget to get an empanada de queso Oaxaca--the best I've ever had!!

Fantastic local dishes, enjoyed every bite : Sopa de lima, Tamales, Cochinita, Poc Chuc and Fried platanos with cheese.

The food is good but lacks strong flavors. The tamale (4/5) was the best thing I had here. The cochinata pibil was tender but lacked strong flavor (3.5/5) but the tortillas were delicious. The papadzules (3/5) was good but again not too much flavor. Service was super nice tho

Great restaurant! They serve breakfast from 8am to 12pm and the rest of the time they have a daily menu. The pulled pork was really tasty - I would get it more often for sure. They have some desserts in the fridge next to the counter. We got a banana pudding with tapioca - nice, slightly sweet and calmed down the spiciness of the main course 😄 The prices for main dishes are around 170-200 pesos.

Ancient Ruins
Located just 30 minutes north of Cancun's main hotel zone, the Zona Arqueológica de El Meco is an ancient Mayan site that was once a thriving fishing village and port city. It features a pyramid called El Castillo, which stands at roughly 41 feet high and offers panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea and surrounding lagoons. The area is also inhabited by numerous iguanas, making it a unique experience for animal lovers.
This pyramid is much bigger than we expected, and the staff do a great job maintaining it. Google might say that entry is free, but that only applies to Mexican citizens, not tourists. They only accept cash, so make sure to bring some with you for tickets. I highly recommend checking this place out when you visit Cancún. Also, don’t forget to bring water, as there’s nowhere nearby to buy any.

This ancient fishing village offers a glimpse into the lives of Mayan people. The well-preserved structures whisper stories of a vibrant past. Imagine the bustling activity of daily life within these weathered walls. Exploring this site connects us to the rich history of the region. It's a remarkable opportunity to experience a piece of the past. You can see many Iguanas, which is a delightful sight.

This site was well worth a little adventure. It was close by and easy to get to. It was inexpensive but still very cool and impressive. El Meco is a self guided walk around, with informational plaques that talks about the culture and history of the site and its various structures. As a bonus there are many large iguana that sun bathe on the structures and along the path. I spent about 45 minutes to 1 hour there in the morning. There are multiple structures to see spanning over about 3-5 acres, with the largest structure in the middle with a very nice manacured court yard. It was almost empty and had the whole site to my self to explore. Bring bug spray (mosquitoes around the edges of the site, where the jungle butts upto the site).

So glad we visit. We had a amazing tour guide, Reuben was like a walking history book. If you have a chance go and see you will not be disappointed.

Comparatively small, but great place! There were no visitors but me in August. A lot of trees and shadow, so you can hide in from the heat. They told me that recently the had a renovation, constructed the new bridge, so the ticket office is on the other side of the street (and near it there is a great sea view spot). Be careful with the coco palms, lots of coconut are falling down.

Super clean site, good ruins to see a sample, its not huge. Many iguanas and beautiful water view from there. Staff was friendly as well, but there could be a little more info on the signs.

This was well worth the visit. We were approached by a certified tour guide, which really enhanced the experience as he provided a lot of context on the history of the Mayan people in the region, flora and fauna, and even taught us some words in the Mayan language. The site is small so very walkable and located on both sides of the road, connected by a pedestrian bridge. Amenities were added in the past year including restrooms and future spaces for gift shop and refreshments, so expect this to continue to develop in the future.

I love this place so close to our hotel and not so big. Its free on Sundays if you are a Mexican Citizen. Or you pay 120 pesos thats like 6 dollars.
