Beach
Nature & Parks
Lagoinha do Leste Beach is a remote and stunning natural haven located in Florianopolis, Brazil. Accessible only by foot or boat, this hidden gem is nestled between two mountains and designated as a nature conservation site. A two-hour trek through rugged rainforest leads to warm lagoons and a pristine stretch of golden sand beach.
Beautiful place! Because you can't get there by car (as far as I know), you have to hike there in a trail. That's also the reason why the beach is not crowded at all. The view from the trails is amazing. If you like nature, you'll certainly like the place. If you're planing to stay for a while, take some water with you and some block, also don't trash this beautiful place.
Gustavo T — Google review
A beautiful, untouched beach with barely anyone due to the difficulty of getting there. We took the 3h trek from Praia do Armacao and it was a difficult hike, but so worth it for the views on sunny days like these. The trek out to Pantana do Sul took us about 1.5h but the path was way better than the one from Armacao.
Ly — Google review
It’s a paradise. The hike is not too complicated, you gotta do it in your own pace, taking the yellow signed road half way is the choice to go to the top (morro da coroia) and take great pics. It’s worth every minute! The water is clean and not cold at old.
Diego P — Google review
An extraordinary place, I was able to share a wonderful day with people from many countries It took me 40 minutes to do the trilhia. I recommend . Images of the complete route. Comida muito boa
Enzo V — Google review
Excellent beach. It has no structure or buildings. Very natural. The difficult access makes it harder to be overcrowded, but it's definitely worth it. The sea and the lagoon is amazing, and you can even swim with the fish. Be sure to be in great shape. Don't leave your trash behind.
Danilo J — Google review
We hiked in the long way and then hiked out the steep way, would highly highly recommend
Holly F — Google review
Amazing beautiful beach. Everyone super friendly and nice. I made 3 friends in 1 hour.
Mansour M — Google review
I believe this is the most secluded beach I’ve ever been. To get there you have 2 options. First, you go to Armação beach then cross the river if low tide or the bridge to go to Matadeiro beach. Once you arrive in matadeiro walk to the very end and you will find a track that leads you to Lagoinha. Take plenty of water and food because it’s a long hike, approximately 2 hours. Second option is to take a bus from armação to Pântano do Sul and there is another track that leads you to Lagoinha do Leste Beach which is much shorter, around an hour hiking.

Praia da Galheta is a small, secluded cove located on the east side of Santa Catarina Island in Florianopolis, Brazil. Accessible only by trails from Praia Mole or Barra da Lagoa, this beach is known for its LGBT-friendly and clothing-optional atmosphere. Naturism has been allowed here since 1997 and it's a popular destination for surfers.
One of the most beautiful beaches of Florianopolis. Not crowded and calm beach especially in the end of the beach. There is a cantin offering umbrellas , chairs, snacks and very good caipirinhas in normal prices.
Angelos M — Google review
A great exercise walking if you start at Selina hostel or from Pria Mole. You can walk the trail or the sands . Gets very windy and the sand will blow in your face. It is a nude beach so be mindful thst if you are wearing clothes and looking at someone who isn't they will look at you funny.
John L — Google review
I found the trail quite difficult... overgrown bushes cover the way for a large portion of the trek, and it can be steep and slippery on the gravel parts. But even with the difficult trail, it was a really enjoyable adventure to arrive at a beautiful beach with clear waters and large waves! There will be nudes but it was a total mix!
Abi G — Google review
Praia da Galheta, the only nude beach in Florianpolis, Brazil. I had the pleasure of visiting this beach, and it proved to be one of the most freeing experiences. The vastness of this beach is remarkable, and the beauty of the water is simply incredible. Getting there requires some effort - a hike - but it is well worth the journey. On occasion, you may even find vendors down there selling beer. This is a truly amazing experience, but one that should be undertaken with caution. Locals have warned me of creeps who have been known to frequent the beach, so it's best to go with a group, or at least sit close to other groups. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience, Praia da Galheta is the place to go. With its beautiful views, exciting waters, and a certain sense of freedom, it is an experience that will never be forgotten.
Bold P — Google review
Very beautiful beach. A peaceful and quiet place to feel part of the nature and enjoy it. Although optionally a nude beach, less than 1/5 of the people were naked when we went. Personally, I didn't like this. It's easier to take your clothes off when everybody is naked. Otherwise, you may feel uncomfortable and watched. I went with my wife and our child, but I didn't find the place so family-friendly as other nudist places may be.

Beatiful ( optionally ) nudist Praia, best place to try it yourself 😁 ! ( if you didn't already). Respectful environment for people taking their own choices ( CIS / LGBT+ friendly).

A very nice beach that is a bit hard to reach, but is calm and has a beautiful scenery with the mountains in the back. The beach is wide and the water is shallow. But it is also a nudist beach.

Praia de Naufragados is a stunning white sandy beach located at the far south end of Santa Catarina island. Accessible via the Naufragados trail, this isolated beach offers a glimpse of pristine natural beauty. The trek through the Atlantic rainforest takes about 45 minutes and leads to a secure and untouched sector, making it an immaculate example of the island's charm.
Amazing beach, very isolated by a 30-45 minute hike. It’s worth the effort. There’s even a barzinho on the beach! Spectacular views !
Discovering D — Google review
Nice natural beach with decent views of the surrounding nature and the coast across, but more for a walk as water was cold. Abandoned infrastructure so bring your own food and drinks. Some strange characters were camping and others playing fishermen when i was there so i would not go alone, especially as a female.

Hiking area
Trilha Costa da Lagoa offers a glimpse into the history and culture of the small villages in the Lagoa da Conceicao region of Florianopolis. The well-signposted trail begins with grassy spaces offering stunning views, leading to charming houses along an easy path. Visitors can reach the starting point by car or bus and even return by boat for a different experience. Despite its length, it is easily accessible and features a wonderful landscape abundant in vegetation and dotted with rocks.
Very enjoyable hike, going through the forest (mainly) with bits by the water where the boats stop by. Bring water as there is only one spot midway where you can buy some. After about 6-7k (depending on where you start from) you reach a little village with restaurants and access to the waterfall where you can swim. Super enjoyable reward! Take a boat back to the center of Lagoa (15 reias)
Mathilde L — Google review
one of the best trilha so far i made in lagoa ! easy hike most of the terrain flat walking in different ecosystems every 1 hour ,between small fishing villages that you can buy some water or snack .We saw wildlife like monkeys! and when you get tired you can always jump an a boat for the way back with 15 real
Pepe — Google review
Highly recommended little trail. You can start out of Lagoa and decide how far you wanna go. Every couple of meters there is a little boat bridge from where you can take a boat back into town. They go every hour and cost 15 RS. The track itself is easy and fun and shady. Lots of vegetation to see, I saw even monkeys. You cross houses and villages and small restaurant and shops come along as well.
Valentin P — Google review
(Translated by Google) Easy and quiet trail, with one or two climbs, very pleasant. We arrived at the village where the restaurants are located in approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. You can go by boat, catch the boat at one of the stations along the way, or just return by boat to the terminal (it cost $15 per person on a Sunday).

(Translated by Google) The trail is wonderful. It's often through dense forest. It's a great trail to escape the strong sun. It's a great place to get away from the sun at the end. It's beautiful, charming and has a good food structure. We returned to Barra da Lagoa by boat, which cost us around 15 reais per person. It's well worth it. You can see the forest, it's very impressive. We just didn't like the waterfall at the end of the trip, we didn't think it was worth it. We thought it was better to enjoy the hike and the village. Vale bem a pena. Da pra ver a mata, é bem impressionante. Só não gostamos da cachoeira no final da viagem, não achamos que valia muito a pena. Achamos melhor aproveitar a caminhada e o vilarejo.
Marina D — Google review
(Translated by Google) The trail is mostly a long walk, I clocked 19.23km round trip. But it's worth it; it's beautiful and has a variety of restaurants and places to eat. For vegans or vegetarians, Jajá's restaurant has a vegan moqueca that's incredibly delicious! (Original) A trilha na maior parte é um passeio... longo, ida e volta marquei 19,23km. Mole Beach, also known as Praia Mole, is a popular surfing spot with a long stretch of sand and scenic headlands at either end. It's a favorite among locals and tourists for surfing competitions and enjoying the sun and water.
A beautiful white sand beach with clear blue water and no pollution. The water temperature fluctuates with the currents. The waves can be good for surfing or body surfing depending on conditions. The background of hills and greenery is gorgeous and there is a lifeguard on duty here. One of our favorite beaches in the world.
Earth E — Google review
The trails are very nice, but I wouldn't say the same for the beach, unless you surf it is not a very enjoyable beach.. But it has a nice preserved area!
Francesca P — Google review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Playa Mole is everything I dreamed of and more. The surf? Unreal. The kind of waves that make you feel like a pro… until you wipe out in front of a crowd of beautiful people. The sand is so white it makes my sunscreen look lazy, and the water is so clear I could see fish judging my paddling technique. The vibes? Immaculate. It’s like everyone there just rolled out of a hammock and somehow still looks like a model. If you’re into surfing, chilling, and pretending you belong in a postcard, this is the place to be.
Aiden A — Google review
Very nice beach with stunning waves and good infrastructure.
Muris D — Google review
Neighborhood of Selina Florianopolis just across the street. It's a decent beach with space. Small, nothing particularly special about it. It's like season right now so maybe there will be more activity during high season which I hear starts in November and December. It's an okay but not absolutely must see beach. Clean though.
John L — Google review
Beautiful beach, I’ve been here multiple times - as all beaches in Florianopolis it is always windy! I have been to this beach maybe 10 times and there was one occasion where it wasn’t windy. With that being said the trails and vibe of the beach really do make it special - it’s quite a gypsy beach (if you like that kind of thing) and there is always waves so for surfing it’s good (swimming not so much)
Zac N — Google review
Absolutely splendid place! I spent my honeymoon there and I had the best time of my life. Lots of activities, super chill vibe and safe. You can go scuba diving on the little island in the horizon I've met so many nice people there and there's a big lgbt and hippie community, which is where the fun is at. No matter how you look like, you'll feel included. There's also professional surfers and fishermen as well , all sorts of cool people. Let's not forget how AMAZING the fish is at the little food place on the beach Absolutely recommend it

Best part of Florianopolis. Stunning.
Owlie W — Google review
These dunes are amazing. It costs R$20 per hour and they give you a bracelet so you are the only person allowed to use it for that hour. It is quite high and tirering so if your physical conditions aren't the best you might struggle with it. There are car parks nearby and they cost around R$10/20 per day but you can also park on the street and it will be fine. Some car parks have showers and toilets included on these prices. The boards are in good condition here and the staff is helpful. They also give you wax so the board can get more speed. The beach is nearby and you can get there walking. If the temperature is less than 25 degrees the water might be cold and it might bring jelly fishes. There are restaurants and bars in there. The dunes are just perfect and the moisture from the sea helps it to be in the best condition. Do not buy water from the place in front of it as it tastes like swage and it looks like they have bottled it themselves.

Bar do Arante is a unique beachside restaurant in Florianopolis, Brazil, known for its fresh seafood dishes and perfectly mixed caipirinhas. The tradition of covering the walls and ceiling with handwritten notes dates back to the 1970s when students from Sao Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul frequented Pantano do Sul beach. Customers are encouraged to leave their mark by hanging slips of paper on the walls, creating an intriguing visual display.
Amazing place! It has lots of stories to read from and they treat you with Cachaça. Also the view of the beach from the restaurant is beautiful.

An interesting on the beach restaurant with good views. Old, basic furniture and all the available wall and ceiling space is covered in notes. Why do people feel the need?!
Vincent B — Google review
This place has a great ambience. The theme of the restaurant is an old sailors decor and the idea is all customers can stick a personalised note on the walls and ceiling of the place. This has added a great deal of character to the place and it was quite fun to read some of the notes. You can enjoy beautiful views of the beaut as well as the sunset if you go in the evening. The food is delicious and full of flavour. I recommend the shrimp risotto and the crab cake.

The perfect ending for an incredible tour to Lagoinha do Leste. Incredible interior and even more beautiful view to the beach. During the sunset, a dream. The food was excellent, the service friendly and attentive. Quite cheap as well. Highly recommended!

Fresh food, cold beer. The place is decorated with small notes left by the visitors. The cachaca is free. The restroom is small but clean and there is not facilities for disabled people. There is no place to park the car on the street, so you have to use private parking (R$10). The beach is beautiful and you can observe the fishermen working.

Hiking Trails
Nestled in the stunning landscape of Florianopolis, the Trilha do Morro das Aranhas is a must-visit for avid hikers seeking adventure. This trail, which ascends Spider Mountain, offers a thrilling experience as it winds along steep cliffs that plunge into the roaring ocean below. The trek is not for the faint-hearted; it demands good physical fitness due to its challenging inclines and occasionally muddy paths after rain.
Relatively short hike for great views. Glad we hit this quick hike one afternoon in Floripa. A bit tough to access if you're not familiar with the area. Probably best to park at the nearest beach access and wall along the beach enter. Google drive directions take you to a private resort road access, which can be confusing.
Steven N — Google review

The hike to Mozambique beach can be difficult but it is so beautiful! Definitely wear good shoes and bring water.
Sarah R — Google review
Incredibly awesome! The whole trail "trilha" surrounded by nature, different canopies and greener-than-green vegetation. It's 50min upside, moderate difficulty.
JuanJo ( — Google review
I was amazed by this viewpoint. All this rustic and narrow trail take you to a paceful and quiet place. Water color is an extra. It looks pure and 50 tons from blue to green. In my opinion, this trail is medium difficulty and of course you must be careful with insects and use sunscreen. No doubt, I'd come back.
Kat — Google review

Samuel P — Google review
It's harder than I thought initially but it's great. You just need to pay attention to the cliff and be ready to a muddy walk after the rain. The views are absolutely astonishing and the photos you take are very instagramable 😁. There are several paths but if you want to get to the Moçambique Beach (which was our intention) you need to always take the left one. Take care because near the end there is a giant boulder which you need to kinda climb and slide on it. I really don't recommend it for kids.
Kleber S — Google review
Incredible place! You may walk around 2km forward Moçambique Beach and 2km back to Santinho Beach. Although Moçambique Beach is a paradisiac site, there are no public transport or shops so you must be prepared. Carry sunglasses, sunscreen, water, some snacks, T-shirt, proper shoes. For your safety don’t start the trail too late.

The Trilha da Boa Vista e Galheta hiking area is perfect for a day out if you're looking for a bit of exercise and stunning views. Between the blue lagoons, swaying palm trees and golden sand beaches, it's hard not to be inspired. The track starts in Barra da Lagoa and winds its way up through the Mata Atlantica vegetation before reaching Galheta, where you can find some lovely beaches to relax on.
The trail is not hard, make sure you grab some water and food, avoid going when it's hot, in some parts you would need to use your hands. The view is spectacular.

Ponte Hercílio Luz, a traffic bridge that was opened in 1982, serves as a significant link between the island of Santa Catarina and the mainland. This suspension bridge, completed in 1926, holds historical importance as it was the first to connect these two points. With its central span stretching around 340 meters (1,115 feet), it ranked among the world's top 100 largest bridges of its kind.
I love this bridge. Fantastic place to walk across and see the city. On Sunday there were food venders.

Praia do Pântano do Sul is a vast fishing beach with numerous colonies and a variety of seafood restaurants. It is located about 25 km from Armação do Pantano do Sul Beach, offering a quiet and serene atmosphere. The village of fishermen, their colorful boats, and beachfront restaurants create a charming setting. As you walk along the beach, you'll encounter surfers at one end and deserted stretches at the other.
I've travelled for 4 years in the south of Brazil and this is do far the place I've had the best experiences. There's potable water for this who pan camping. You find many trails close to the beach with camping spots and swimming in Lagoinha is one of the best things ever. It's a salty lagoon so you Float easily and smoothly. The trail from matadeiro is easier because it's "flatter", but it has more risks at some point when you get close to a cliff. I don't recommend it if it's windy. It takes 2,5/3 hours to be done. The trail from pântano do sul is up and down the mountain. If you have some more muscle power it's fine. If you don't, take it easy, but it's possible if you do it stopping many times. There's potable water on the way. Bring your trash back. Go to morro da coroa. The view is amazing.

São José da Ponta Grossa Fortress, a hilltop stronghold constructed in the 18th century, offers a glimpse into Brazil's coastal defense history. Located near picturesque beaches like Jurere and Praia do Forte, this historical site was declared a heritage site in 1938. The fortress is part of the network of major forts around Florianopolis, including Nossa Senhora da Conceicao, Santo Antonio, and Santana.
A bit of history of Brasil. Not far from the playa. The views are just unquestionably amazing from here. It's definitely worth taking a visit to this fort. If you are intresserad in landmark.

Good place to visit overall, but the entrance fee is not compensated by any particular piece of history, as the castle was probably undergoing some sort of restoration by the time of my visit. It has some nice views as well, but nothing you cannot achieve elsewhere on the island.
Gian M — Google review
Views are very nice However you do have to pay about $16-18 Reis to get into the fort. There were informational signs on the property for those who don’t pay. The beach nearby is nice and clean

Nice place. Worth a visit. They don't take cash so come prepared. The nearest ATM is about 10 mins drive away at the mall.

Beautiful location with spectacular views. Well restored with informative displays to the history of the fort.

Very interesting place Gives the visitor a good a idea on how life in the garison used to be. Entrance fee is 16 real but as senior it was free for me. 3⭐️because although the site itself is worth the visit, the staff is unfriendly borderline rude and don't seem to be interested in helping with information. Outside signs are in Portuguese and English unfortunately inside the building itself only Portuguese.

Very nice and quiet fortress . A remnant of better times. Beautiful sea views.

Praia do Moçambique is a stunning beach located in Florianópolis, known for its expansive 12.5 km stretch of white sand and clear waters. It offers 12 access points, with the northernmost point being popular for surfing due to its powerful waves. The beach is surrounded by thick vegetation and an ecological reserve, providing a serene and secluded atmosphere. Praia do Moçambique faces the open ocean, making it ideal for those seeking solitude and substantial waves.
Absolutely beautiful beach. More than 40 kilometres in length, it is a miracle that this beach is still very isolated. There are no settlements, condos, or apartments along it. You have to take a dirt road, sometimes with soft sand, so if you want to go further than the regular tourist spots, be sure to have a good car (or SUV) and decent driving skills. To reach the rocks at the north end, you'll drive about 15 minutes from the entrance, and will have to walk a bit. At that spot you'll find, weather permitting, the calmest part of the beach, that otherwise can be very rough and strong sea. From there you can hike a trail to the Santinho beach, a walk that can be a little bit steep, and last about an hour. This is a great beach to spend the day, with lots of shadowed spots along the road, great for a family picnic. Highly recommended.

Great surf spot. Long straight beach . Waves can get big.
Brad P — Google review
OMG this beach was a mystery beach for me. I took the bus from Canasviares to praia Mozambique for some reason the bus dropped me half way and I had to walk asking directions to locals around. It was almost 25 Min walk from the main street, which passes through some local resident houses and suddenly the trail takes me to dense isolated jungle, weird sounds and atmosphere. After walking a while alone in the jungle come across sand dunes..which was an absolute shock for me....crossing the sand dunes I reached another dense jungle and finally I could see the beach. Crystal clear water.. But I was the only one on the beach which was a bit scary so I quickly returned. But if you are going with friends and family I think it will be a good experience. My advise don't go alone.

Very beautiful beach but someone tried to break in our car by breaking glass. Fortunately there was nothing in our car and we were safe. While the beach can get crowded during the summer, a short walk leads to quieter spots. It's known for small to medium-sized waves, making it suitable for surfing.
Beautiful beach! There is a bar you can walk to but often vendors will be strolling the beach with food and drinks. Was not crowded and offered many access points from the street

Nickyribo@gmail.com R — Google review
It's a really good beach. Very chill, okay for surfing but small waves, people tend to be nice and there's a lifeguard outpost in the beach. During the summer the place usually is very crowded, but if you want to get away from it, a 5 to 15 minute walk will get you to a completely free spot in most days. Unfortunately, there's no handicapped chair access. Enjoy the beach!
Felipe S — Google review
Not too busy, somewhat remote in regards to proximity to Florianópolis (Floripa). Super strong under tow in places, best to swim when the tide is coming in. Small to medium sized waves. Large waves are rare in good weather.
Sam S — Google review
Excelent for kids, large sand space, respectful surfers, life guards and easy parking. But beware of not many services like food stands. There's a small market near by (steep prices) and some vendors walking up and down the beach. But beautiful as you can imagine! :)

Morro Lampião offers a short but steep 20-minute trail that leads to breathtaking panoramic views of Florianopolis. The hike requires intermediate physical condition due to the steep incline and rock climbing at the top, but no equipment is necessary. The trail may get muddy after rain, so it's best to visit when it's dry. Once at the top, hikers can enjoy a 360-degree view from Pantano do Sul to Barra da Lagoa.
The trail is short, about 20 minutes, but it can be a bit tiring, cause the climb is steep. The main view point is hidden, after reaching the top is necessary to enter a narrow path with a lot of bush, when you see a falling log blocking the way, take a small climb to the left and you will reach the main rock.

The service is very warm and friendly. The menu has a extensive healthy options, all intriguing and creative combinations of flavours resulting in colourful dishes. The food wasn’t amazing, but it was more town satisfactory. We noticed the staff having a healthy shot and enquired to find out it was an exciting concoction of ginger, turmeric, honey and lemon juice. We asked for some, even though it was only staff, they kindly obliged and it was very tasty, I strongly advised that they add this to the menu along with their healthy juices and smoothies.

Really delicious spot with great service! Outside of the fish bowl, everything else is vegetarian and most dishes have a vegan option. My favorites were the lasagna and pumpkin risotto. The food comes out pretty quickly. Overall super recommend 💯 Note that most of the seating is outdoor in the malls open space, which is really nice when it’s sunny. They also have some blankets for the evening and when it’s chillier.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Botânico! The drinks and food were delicious and also nutritious and healthy. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, and you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. The coffee was by far the best I’ve had in a while – smooth, and perfectly brewed. (Translated by Google) Lagoinha do Leste/Morro da Coroa - Florianópolis (Via Pântano do Sul) This trail is moderately steep and long, requiring physical fitness. At first, it's like a steep "staircase," then a trail begins through tree roots, and at the end, a well-marked, flatter trail. The trail is easily accessible, with several parking lots and restaurants near the entrance. At the end, you can go down to the beach and return by boat (on the day I went, they charged R$60). It's best to go with someone already familiar with the trail, using a GPS, or with a group, as there are some intersections that lead to more difficult or dead-end paths. The view is breathtaking, with several points for photos and to enjoy the beautiful landscape. If you're afraid of heights, be careful when climbing the rocks; some people get sick from the heights, and it's dangerous. The descent to the beach is quite steep through the rocks, requiring a lot of effort, but it's worth it. The seawater is quite cold, but good for swimming. There's a kiosk on the beach. I recommend going early, as if you get there in the sun, it can get scorching, and it gets dark quickly in the late afternoon. Avoid going on a rainy day; use plenty of insect repellent; and bring water and food. Prefer to climb the trail to descend to the beach (as it's a huge rock wall). Another point to take into account is parking since a very large vehicle cannot enter or maneuver on the street, which is narrow and very steep.

Hiking area
Nature preserve
The hiking area Trilha Lagoinha do Leste - Pântano do Sul is the perfect place for a day hike or an all-day outdoor adventure. With its stunning views and serene environment, it's a great spot to spend time in nature. The path is well-marked and easy to follow, so you won't have any trouble getting around. There are a few streams and waterfalls along the way, making for an enjoyable walk.
As an experienced hiker, this can be a challenging trail! But if you can do it, it's totally worth it. Ends at the private beach which is only accessible by this trail. Take lots of water! Hiking boots are recommended.
Britt M — Google review
Very risk, slippery and hard trail. I would not recommend it to beginners, kids or people with low mobility. Most parts have wet rocks, mud and lots of roots. I have been to more than 30 trails in my life and would rate this one as 8 out of 10 - in terms of difficulty. However, it obviously pays off when you reach the top and admire the landscape and the view, a mix of mountains, rocks, a beach and a lagoon. Be prepared, with proper shoes, water and comfortable clothes. It took us 1 hour and half each way. Total of 3+ hours with some quick stops and the time admiring the top. DO NOT go on your own - doing it with a group of people would be the best option.

Fabulous little hike. Will be demanding at some point. You need to be physically ready. Take water and food with yourself. When you get to the top take the right and then the left so that you can reach a view point from the top of which you will have an amazing view of the green beach down there. Totally worth it. Totally. Really beautiful and pure nature. Everyone on the hike is friendly and they greet you and welcome you to Brazil. That was awesome. 👏 Highly recommended in case your physique is ok. Take pictures and videos along the hike. You need around 8 hours for a complete hike. Enjoy and connect 😍

Amazing trilla to do with friends, to get to the morro it gets pretty hard and specially be careful if it gets late and night. Nice birds. Wait for your friends and enjoy the trilla

The view at the end is amazing and totally worth it. I took the shorter and harder trail and took me about 9,000 steps. Sometimes the trail is tough and slipping. I had brought water, sunscreen and a banana. Expect a good crowd at the end. I highly recommend watching the weather and don't go if it is raining.
Emanuel C — Google review
Medium leveled trail. The views are priceless even though the destination beach is pretty much ok. Still good to chill and rest from the intense hiking. Not exactly full of steepness, but rather long trail. Recommendable to all ages! Extra: take repellent, sunscreen, light snacks aka homemade sandwiches and at least 2 liters of water per person. :)
Barbara D — Google review
Did the loop to pico point not crazy difficult and amazing views. Did it in $3 flops from Indonesia but would recommend tennis shoes. Was so windy I almost blew over but cool
James — Google review
There's two options to start, one in Matadeiro Beach and the other in Pantano do Sul. Both are great and ends at the beach Lagoinha do Leste. The Matadeiro has a phenomenal view, but the efforts are higher, worth it and definitely recommend. The other path is just as good, and ends at the same place. Bring extra clothes, food and water. The lagoon in front of the beach is undescribable, amazing. There's a natural water tap. Do not forget your trash, don't leave your things behind and respect the environment. The trail is free for as long as we do that. Have fun.

Airport
Florianópolis International Airport – Hercílio Luz is a compact and well-established airport offering various facilities such as a post office and shopping options. The capital of Santa Catarina, known as the 'Island of Magic,' boasts over 100 stunning beaches, breathtaking trails, excellent dining spots, and vibrant nightlife. It's a popular destination for surfers of all levels due to its long surfing tradition and abundance of like-minded individuals, surf schools, and stores.
Arriving at this airport is an experience like no other. As you step out of the terminal, you're immediately greeted by a vibrant, open-air mall bustling with life. On a late Friday afternoon, we were met with a lively performance featuring a concert and acrobats, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The area is beautifully landscaped with lush vegetation and inviting parks, seamlessly blending nature with modernity. Just steps from the terminal, an outdoor shopping area buzzes with activity, offering a dynamic and engaging vibe. To top it all off, a beach tennis court in front of the airport adds a unique, playful touch, making this arrival unforgettable and full of surprises.

This airport is the best one I have been to in all of Brazil. So accommodating and kind to everyone. All other airports in Brazil should learn how to operate like this one. Especially São Paulo. Everyone there has a horrible attitude, where as here everyone was so much nicer and kinder. Especially to people who can’t hear or are disabled.
Mal M — Google review
Excellent new airport! Nicely staffed, we landed at 1am and the customs was less than 10 minutes. Airport is clean, lots of shops, nice promenade with common sitting area, convenient uber pick up as well as car rental across the airport. And felt totally safe
Ujjawal S — Google review
One of the nicest and most modern airports that I've had a chance to visit. It is open 24 hours, has clean floors, and is easy to navigate. The staff are friendly and speak English well. Note that one will need to walk past a "plaza" in order to reach the area where one can be picked up by Ubers and Rideshare. The only negative experience was with the currency exchange place that offered a ridiculous rate of 1 USD to 3 BRL which made no sense to me.
James — Google review
Surprisingly insanely gorgeous airport tucked away 20 minutes no traffic away from the beach and the city. Feels mite like a shopping mall than an airport with new renovations everywhere. Place is incredible, did not expect this at all and pleasantly surprised. Staff everywhere was relaxed and friendly, without the typical airport stress. Nice little lounge with good Skyview. Safe travels on election day.
John L — Google review
A brand new airport with a stunning entrance, full of green life and a beautiful sidewalk that gets you to the ground floor. You can find very clean bathrooms every step of the way. Something to take into account is that the gastronomical offer once you cross migrations is poor (some cafés), so if you’d like to have a heavy meal, be aware. The duty free has nothing to highlight, because it’s small and doesn’t count with a huge variety of products.
Valentino G — Google review
A small and simple airport. Things seem a bit chaotic. There are a handful of places to shop in the terminal. Try the gourmet shop selling yummy mochi type sweets. Once you pass security, there are a couple of small restaurants to eat something warm.

The Majestic Palace Hotel is a refined and luxurious accommodation that offers stunning city and bay views. Located just outside the center of Florianopolis, this 5-star hotel provides elegant rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, LCD TVs, and Serta mattresses for ultimate comfort. Guests can enjoy an upmarket restaurant and bar, as well as an outdoor pool with breathtaking views of the city.
So far, this place is fantastic. I'm currently staying here and check in was only two minutes; the room AC and TV channels are great; the room service menu looks delicious and well-priced; the location is right next to the mall and in waterfront; the wifi is incredibly fast. I love it.
Patricio H — Google review
The Majestic Hotel offers an overall decent experience, but there is a significant issue with the room’s dampness. The musty odor is overwhelming, and my clothes quickly absorbed the unpleasant smell due to the lack of windows for ventilation—aside from the air conditioning. While I would be eager to return due to the exceptional five-star service, the breakfast leaves room for improvement. I would rate it four stars, as it lacks that final touch. The variety of main dishes could be changed more frequently, and offering sparkling wine or champagne would elevate the experience to match the standards expected of a five-star hotel. Additionally, providing welcome water in the room should be a standard amenity for a hotel of this caliber. While most of the staff are friendly, some do not come across as genuine. Upon my arrival, I was disappointed to find that I was assigned a dirty room after requesting an early check-in. Furthermore, I was mistakenly charged for drinks consumed by the previous guest. Although the manager removed the charges, no sincere apology was offered, nor was any attempt made to make amends, such as offering a complimentary drink. This lack of consideration left us feeling upset. I visit Florianópolis annually and would love to return to this hotel, but the dampness issue is a serious concern that requires the attention of upper management. The only aspect of my stay that lived up to five-star standards was the dinner, which was excellent and well-executed. I hope my feedback is taken constructively, as my intent is to help improve the guest experience. My words should be viewed as suggestions to turn into action, with the goal of encouraging repeat guests.

Great location close to everything. Ocean front but not a beach you can go in the water and lay in the sun. Problems: We got the best room ocean front the most expensive like 900 reais per day and 1- The sofa in the room was filthy full of dirty spots and the lounge chair had 2 holes in it. For the price and being a “5 stars” they should throw their sofas in the dump and buy new ones. 2- The bathroom light was very weak so it was too dark to put make up on ,really ridiculous. 3- They have a roof top where they rent to third parties for their events so on a Friday we could not sleep because of the loud noise of the music and their DJ! That started at 10:30pm until 3:00AM and they did nothing about it although I complained 4 times! 4- They have a cigar bar in the entrance and although they say you can’t smoke everybody smokes there and the smoke smell comes to the hotel lobby. I have asthma and my husband allergies so wasn’t fun. 5- nobody speaks English in that hotel. They have a big crew and we only met one person on the last day that could speak English. 6- We tried to enter their restaurant for a happy hour on a Friday and they asked for 150 Reais $ charge for entrance only and we were supposed to pay extra for drinks so we decided not to participate. I never saw that before. And me and my husband have traveled more then 20 countries. So be prepared to paid a lot of money just for the location!!!

There is nothing majestic about this hotel. Outdated and too expensive. More a 2 star motel than anything else. Rooms are outdated, hotel is incredibly noisy, breakfast subpar & service level is very limited. Avoid this hotel.
Michael B — Google review
It’s old hotel. My room has a mold smell and you can see that this hotel needs a restoration by looking how furniture are wear out Room quite clean but mold odor is not helping to give a good comment. Nice staff people even kind of hard to communicate in English or Spanish as alternative, unless you speak Portuguese. Anyhow even at Florianopolis Airport, or restaurant, gas station or rental car facility, very very hard find someone speak English, so te only way to communicate is using Spanish which in a way us kind of close to Portuguese. Don’t know if and translator app will work but maybe is the way to communicate there.
Giovanni D — Google review
Not a 5-star hotel. Perhaps a good 3-star. Loud bedroom, outdate and poor furniture, lack of amenities in the room (no hanger for towels, not enough light in the bathroom, etc), stained sofa, visible cables, breakfast quality is poor (coffee from a machine, dry cakes, tasteless food). The view is great. Do not recommend and will never return.
Livia S — Google review
This hotel seems to be trapped in the past, with little to no renovation over the years, leaving it far behind modern expectations. While the sea view is a highlight, the drawbacks significantly overshadow the experience. The layout of the rooms is puzzling and nothing like the images advertised on the website. Key issues include poorly placed furniture (e.g., a sofa and desk awkwardly positioned in the middle of the room), exposed cables (such as an internet router dangling below the desk), and strange design choices like electrical plugs in the wardrobe. The lack of functional amenities, like having just one towel hanger in a 35 sqm room, further adds to the frustration. The noise level is a major downside. Despite the allure of a sea view, the proximity to the noisy Beiramar road means constant traffic sounds. With no proper window insulation, even earplugs can’t save you from sleepless nights. If peace and quiet are what you seek, this is not the place for you. To make matters worse, the breakfast experience is underwhelming. It’s described as very basic, with limited variety and an overcrowded dining area that detracts from any enjoyment. In summary, while the view may appeal to some, the outdated design, noise issues, and subpar amenities make it hard to recommend this hotel. For a more comfortable and serene stay, you might want to look elsewhere.

Excellent hotel located front line. Rooms are large and spacious - could do with more wardrobe space though. Bathrooms a good size. Pool is out doors and isn't heated so hardly used. Small gym that has sufficient equipment and is hardly used. Panoramic views of the coast from the dining room. Food is good and staff excellent- very friendly and helpful

The Worst Hotel Experience Ever I’ve traveled around the world and stayed in numerous hotels, but I’ve never encountered one as bad as this. The noise was unbearable – it felt like there was no soundproofing at all. The hotel is old, and the staff, unfortunately, did not go above and beyond to address the issues we faced during our stay. We experienced uncomfortable moments with the front desk staff, who made us feel unwelcome, especially since we were there as a couple. As a banker and my partner, a manager with Qantas Airlines, we’ve had our fair share of hotel stays, but this one was an absolute disappointment. It’s safe to say we will never return to this hotel, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Jakson S — Google review
It was a 4 stars long time ago. You paid for a 4 stars but the service is like a motel. Others rooms with loud music at night or 7 am and the hotel don’t care at all, The guests shoes in the corridors. The room was clean and good condition. The pool and the amenities was perfect.
Virginia G — Google review
I would rate the hotel 3/5 for several reasons. The rooms are big and nice. The bedding I would rate 3 out of 5. The hotel allows pets, and the room next to us let their dog bark from 5am until noon. We went to sleep at 2am. We told the front desk we would like to check out and go somewhere else due to the disturbances and they gave us a partial credit for the nights not used and the credit must be used for reservations more than 15 days out and within a year. The customer service on the matter was not good. The food was just ok. The pool was good and nice. The area Nextdoor offsite of the hotel was lovely and fun with great food options. The lobby bar had great service. With mediocre food. The breakfast is just pastries with eggs and bacon. Overall I would give it a 5 star if the customer service and food were improved.

I came here to see a friend and the staff went out of their way to make me feel unwelcome. Very sterile, not on the beach, expensive.

* room smell like mold * noise all the time. Really every 30 seconds on average. [ people draging furniture . Could be solved with carpet pads ] * manager didn't bother to call me back * impossible to sleep between 9 and 11 am when the cleaning crews start moving stuff all over making crazy noise. * security lock box does not work Honestly if you are reading this I recommend you to go to a smaller place and perhaps if you like this area use the surrounding Only difference here is that the pool and gym are nice . Just my opinion. As for the price we paid we expected at least a brain level on management to fix the most annoying thing that is the noise in the room and the mold smell. For any gringos readings this many places around here are safe . To me I don't think safety on this hotel is any + if you compare to any other place that I went
JUNIOR M — Google review
I’ve stayed in multiple hotels, since it’s 4 star hotel I didn’t expect it to be perfect. This hotel had a lot of bad sides. First of all rooms are really old. In a room Internet was really bad (like 7 mb/sec that was extremely unstable). Cleaning staff wasn’t changing bed linens, I slept on it 1 week.Bed linens and sofa have stains and holes. Quality of towels were really bad. Only good side of a rooms is that it’s big and has balconies. Breakfasts were the same everyday and had not a lot of options. Hotel has a lot of entertainments such as swimming pools, gym and playing rooms with ping pong, pool tables, ps5 , etc. Hotel is located at good area called Jurerê and has beach nearby. Between hotel and beach there is a lot of restaurants where you can get good quality food. Suggestions For visitors: For better internet go to playing room ( there is 200mb/s) or go to restaurant area. For hotel: Rooms need renovation and change of furniture. Also hotel needs more cleaning staff so rooms get better cleaned. Do some internet tests around hotel so you can fix it and improve quality of it so clients get at least 50mb/s in their rooms.Improve breakfast just by adding more variety of food.

Beach
Praia do Morro das Pedras is a pristine beach with clear waters and soft sand, offering a tranquil atmosphere perfect for relaxation. This secluded spot is free from commercial establishments, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a peaceful getaway. Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the area without the distractions of bars or services, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the serene surroundings.
Picture a beach so crowded, it looks like a massive, sun-drenched colony of seals, each one jostling for their perfect patch of sand to flop on. The shoreline buzzes like a carnival on steroids, with an orchestra of life playing a symphony of chaos. The smell hits you first: a mix of sizzling barbecue, sweet ice cream, and coconut-scented sunscreen. It’s like someone tried to recreate a food court inside a tropical spa, but with a dash of chaos. Every few seconds, a salesman bellows out his menu of miracles: “Coca-Cola! Água! Cerveja bem gelada!”—he’s the herald of hydration, though his voice could wake a coma patient. Children zigzag like caffeinated squirrels, their screams and laughter blending with the occasional "thwack" of a volleyball smacking sand. The volleyball courts are alive with intense games of fuchi-volley, where players twist and flip like gymnasts trying to defy gravity. Nearby, locals use outdoor gym equipment with the intensity of gladiators prepping for battle, while tourists swing lazily from playground monkey bars, unsure if they’re exercising or just posing for Instagram. Couples argue over sunscreen application techniques ("You missed a spot!" "That’s not a spot!"), while babies cry with the fury of miniature tyrants denied their throne. Somewhere in the fray, a lifeguard with the gaze of a hawk perches on his tower, scanning the sea of humanity with a mix of duty and despair. It’s not just a beach; it’s a living, breathing organism—a pulsating blob of humanity sunbathing, swimming, shouting, and snacking. If the sand were alive, it’d probably be screaming for mercy under the weight of it all. Welcome to the chaotic paradise where the sun shines brightest, and the people shine louder.

What a nice find! The whole vibe of the place seems to be a throw back to an early time on the island. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we were not only comfortable, but that we had a great time outside the hotel too. Tons of recommendations and helpful tips, from restaurants to hikes. The breakfast was a terrific was to start the day with homemade breads and yogurt, farm fresh eggs, and delicious fruit. The free yoga classes in the evenings was a special treat. The pool was super comfortable. Having filtered water was nice as well, as we didn’t have to keep using plastic bottles like other places. The communal kitchen came in handy. Location was nice with good restaurants and cafes close by and the beach under a 10 minute walk away through a nice trail.

Fantastic place. A real boutique hotel where every detail is taken into consideration. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the architecture is fantastic and it’s a little piece of heaven in the heart of Lagoa, in middle of the island. Really recommend. The view from the windows is not great when it comes to seeing the direct neighbors but honestly it doesn’t matter this place was incredible. The only downside is that the restaurant is not open on Sunday nights. Better know in advance but plenty of choice around.

Place is nice, location is not ideal (far from beaches and surrounded by noisy establishments), customer service was terrible: - they were not able to provide us with a mean of transportation or a contact to rent. Their best proposal was to walk 30 mins under the sun. NYE is apparently tricky for vehicle rentals in Florianopolis, but they could let clients know in advance or have some emergency contacts to bring in at least a bycicle - they utterly ignored our request of a spa treatment availability. Just did not reply to our message - they served us breakfast at 7.40 when we specifically asked to be served at 7.15 given we had a flight to take (which we almost missed). They did not even apologise - their payment system did not work and given the time rush, they had to send a payment link and chased daily again without apologising. Charged two bottles of water which should be complimentary in this kind of establishment
Alberto V — Google review
Spa - they “forgot” our reservation, not enough therapists due to high season and lack of communication between shifts at the reception blaming newcomer. Clearly not the service you expect from a boutique 5 star hotel !!!

One of the best hotel experience I ever had. Just absolutely impeccable and the most friendly service you can imagine. But also great rooms and a really good breakfast. You just feel like you have nothing to worry about. We are also absolutely in love with the area of Florianopolis the hotel is in. It feels very safe and the beach town vibe is just great. Just always carry an umbrella, the weather is unpredictable. But in our case that was good, 3 rainy days - according to the forecast - changed into very sunny days. We will absolutely come back!

I am in complete shock and outrage! I booked a room at this hotel through booking.com with free cancellation — everything was confirmed and promised. I made the reservation in June for September dates. But unexpectedly, an amount significantly exceeding the booking cost was charged to my card! And this wasn’t a hold — the money was actually charged! Without any warning or explanation! And it wasn’t just for one night, but for the entire amount! When I discovered this and canceled the reservation, the money was refunded, but due to exchange rate differences, I lost about 200 euros — just like that! This is outright fraud! Such treatment of customers is unacceptable and causes immense disappointment and anger. I strongly warn everyone: be very careful with this hotel and their booking system! If you have had a similar experience or want to protect your rights — don’t stay silent! This is important!

Location is very quite with wonderful view to Prainha and around. every point at the hostel is a view point. 1 min walk from the the beach and they have free surfing gear!!!!!! in the evening everybody gather at their cool bar. drinking and going out so there's no problem meeting other people. Thank you guys for great stay in Floripa :)))

One of the best hostels I've stayed at in South America. It can be relaxing with it's great views, close beaches, and large complex or very social with lots of friendly travelers, plenty of parties and events, and the on-site bar. Our room didn't have AC (it did have a fan) so it did get a little warm and wifi is only in the common areas.

That view from the hostel bar never gets old! Great staff! They mostly as speak English, the rooms were super clean! Bar has reasonable prices and lastly... Their burgers are amaaaazzziinngg!! Definitely recommend this place!

Barra Beach Club offers it all: a breath-taking location with a superb view; convenient, clean and well set up facilities; adorable, friendly and helpful staff; bikes & surfing gear for free. What's more, they offer laundry service for a few Reals (or the chance to do you own laundry in house), free wi-fi; delicious all you can eat breakfast, excellent and inexpensive bar and fresh home-made gourmet style dinner for only R$15! Undoubtedly, this place makes it hard for travelers not to feel like leaving. The main beach is only around a 5-minute walk from the hostel or you can alternatively explore the "lagoinha", right beneath the hostel property. A great choice, completely away from traffic which offers the sea as default background music and scenery. Give it a chance, won't regret it!
