Island
Nature & Parks
Campeche Island, located off the coast of Florianópolis, is a treasure trove of ancient archaeological sites and natural beauty. The island is known for its pristine sands, calm waters, and hidden coves that offer stunning views of cliffs and rock formations. Visitors can join organized boat tours departing from Armacao Beach to explore the island's clear waters and preserved natural park.
If you are in Floripa a visit to this Island is a must. It is absolutely stunning. You can access it from a few places but we chose to get a boat from Campeche Beach (10 minutes). Tip - get their early as people queue from 8am because they only allow limited numbers on the Island.
Kate D — Google review
A very beautiful beach on the island but it took an hour boat ride to get there. Make sure to choose a good sunny day to go there.
Rula H — Google review
Magical place. If you go there with your family members, make sure not to litter the place. Don’t take your smoking equipment, there and smoke there. Respect the nature.
Mansour M — Google review
It is a must-visited Campeche Island. The best advice I can give is to check the weather before you go, choose an agency to buy it a few days before you plan going because it is a really popular place, if you arrive there without your ticket probably you will face a big queue to try to take the boat! If you have problems with the boat, bring your medicine because it will take 40 min by boat to get there! The water is beautiful, paradise!

Sylvia F — Google review
A beautiful island with calm but freezing water. If you go on the weekend, there are many boats obstructing the view of the ocean. Nonetheless, the island feels calm and relaxed. We (foreigners) were told it costs 300 reais per person round trip to the island. When we said we don't have that much cash, they lowered it to 200 reais per person (Feb 2022). Still expensive based on other comments here, but I guess that's the price you pay for not being brazilian.

Bridge
Scenic spot
Ponte Hercílio Luz, a traffic bridge that was opened in 1982, serves as a significant link between the island of Santa Catarina and the mainland. This suspension bridge, completed in 1926, holds historical importance as it was the first to connect these two points. With its central span stretching around 340 meters (1,115 feet), it ranked among the world's top 100 largest bridges of its kind.
I love this bridge. Fantastic place to walk across and see the city. On Sunday there were food venders.
Nick N — Google review
Definitely a must see when in Florianópolis. Great construction with an even greater view. The bridge has a separate walking/cycling lane, to safely get across.
Robert — Google review
If you’re visiting Florianópolis, the Ponte Hercílio Luz is a must-see landmark! This iconic bridge is a beautiful spot for photos and a significant piece of the city’s history. Every Sunday, the bridge closes to traffic and opens for pedestrians, making it a perfect time to take a leisurely stroll and capture stunning views. While the area around it can be a bit sketchy, the bridge is a gem worth visiting. Don’t miss out on this quintessential postcard spot in Florianópolis!

Beach
Nature & Parks
Campeche is a stunning destination known for its laid-back surf culture, vibrant bar scene, and a protected stretch of sand that offers breathtaking views of Campeche Island. The beach boasts 5 kilometers of pristine white sand and crystal-clear waters with emerald hues. Over the years, it has seen significant development with the addition of fine homes and buildings, making it one of the most sought-after beaches in Floriano.
Such an amazing place! The beach is long, flat and wide and it's also great because of the dunes you find there. It's sometimes busy but there's plenty of space for you to stay. The only issue I'd point out is the lack of showers at the exits.
Bruno L — Google review
Very crowded in high season, however if you stay here overnight and get out on the beach on the extremities of the day it is a whole different experience. Beautiful sunrise and moonrise. The place is nearly deserted. Better yet come off season for a relaxing time.
David B — Google review
Overbuilded with real estate you will be stuck in traffic for hours. Extremely expensive and overrated. Strongly not recommened like the rest of the island.
A R — Google review
Amazing beautiful beach The sunrise at this place is a spectacular. Make sure you wake up before the sunrise to take amazing pictures and videos and create content. You enjoy the white clean, beautiful crystal sand here and you will connect with a lot of like-minded people. You’ll make a lot of friends here.
Mansour M — Google review
Beautiful Beach. It is not tourist season currently so it is quiet. A great place to take a walk and meditate. The sand is like powdered sugar and the winds aren't too chilly near mid-day. Unfortunately, we came across a dead sea turtle during our stroll the other day. Please be sure not to litter on the beach. These poor creatures mistake the trash for food and meet an untimely demise.
Elizabeth C — Google review
Beach with short sand bank to stay on, but with dunes to walk before you access it. It was ok waves for surfing and at the end of October, it was not crowded.
Leonardo O — Google review
Picture perfect, one of the best beaches in Floripa. Start of the beach was quite busy (February) but we only had to walk for a few minutes and had the beach to ourselves :)
Kate D — Google review
It doesn't get much better than this. I'll admit I'm biased because I live 5 minutes from the beach walking, but of all the beaches have been to around the island this one is seriously sensational. just like anywhere on the island, expected to be much more crowded in summer

Praia Brava is a 1.5 km long public beach located in the north of the island, between Praia da Lagoinha and Praia dos Ingleses. It faces northwest-southeast and is surrounded by cliffs, making it an open ocean with clear waters and wild waves that are perfect for surfing, body boarding, and stand-up paddleboarding. During the summer months, there are food tents on the beach to serve visitors.
This is beautiful white sand beach engulfed with hills from both ends and with lots of options for snacks, drinks and ice creams. The beach is ideal for bathing and chilling. Also there is proper space for parking and the same is free also there are separate bio-toilets.
Samiran M — Google review
Easily one of the top 3 beaches for me! Surrounded by nature and with strong waves, amazing fun.
Deniz P — Google review
In my opinion, this is the best and most beautiful beach in the whole island. It’s super clean with beautiful waves with crystal clear water everybody in the beach area super friendly. There are some residential areas and residential houses. The neighboring people are super friendly and they welcome you to the beach. The sand is super clean. I visited this place during May and I really enjoyed it. I highly suggest this place to people who want to enjoy Crystal Clearwater, nice hot sand. Fantastic place to relax!!!
Mansour M — Google review
In all probability, and in my opinion, this is the best beach in Santa Catarina. Easy access, plenty of space, and lots of options to get sunbeds and parasol, moreover, lots of places to get some treat.

The Santa Catarina Art Museum, located in the Palace Cruz e Souza, is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. The museum showcases a diverse collection of modern artworks by renowned artists and also offers a charming cafe for visitors to relax in. The palace itself is an architectural gem with its pink facade and Italian-inspired design.
It's ok if you like modern art. Entrance is free, so worth a visit anyway

Rather small selection of displays. But the photo exhibit I felt was superior. Building also includes a concert hall theater.
Henry H — Google review
The collection of photographs is good but this is a very small museum. Even combined with the Museu do Som in the same building this just wasn't worth an Uber ride.
Don M — Google review
Good exhibition spaces, could be made more accessible though, content-wise and location-wise, hardly anyone visiting there. Would be great if they could move to a location in the city center.
Michiel H — Google review
Went there when the exhibition was closed and under renovation. Wasted my time there for nothing. Funny how employees don't know how to use my google translator app. All they had to do was talk on it. It's not that complicated.

Mole Beach, also known as Praia Mole, is a popular surfing spot with a long stretch of sand and scenic headlands at either end. It's a favorite among locals and tourists for surfing competitions and enjoying the sun and water.
A beautiful white sand beach with clear blue water and no pollution. The water temperature fluctuates with the currents. The waves can be good for surfing or body surfing depending on conditions. The background of hills and greenery is gorgeous and there is a lifeguard on duty here. One of our favorite beaches in the world.
Earth E — Google review
The trails are very nice, but I wouldn't say the same for the beach, unless you surf it is not a very enjoyable beach.. But it has a nice preserved area!
Francesca P — Google review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Playa Mole is everything I dreamed of and more. The surf? Unreal. The kind of waves that make you feel like a pro… until you wipe out in front of a crowd of beautiful people. The sand is so white it makes my sunscreen look lazy, and the water is so clear I could see fish judging my paddling technique. The vibes? Immaculate. It’s like everyone there just rolled out of a hammock and somehow still looks like a model. If you’re into surfing, chilling, and pretending you belong in a postcard, this is the place to be.
Aiden A — Google review
Very nice beach with stunning waves and good infrastructure.
Muris D — Google review
Neighborhood of Selina Florianopolis just across the street. It's a decent beach with space. Small, nothing particularly special about it. It's like season right now so maybe there will be more activity during high season which I hear starts in November and December. It's an okay but not absolutely must see beach. Clean though.
John L — Google review
Beautiful beach, I’ve been here multiple times - as all beaches in Florianopolis it is always windy! I have been to this beach maybe 10 times and there was one occasion where it wasn’t windy. With that being said the trails and vibe of the beach really do make it special - it’s quite a gypsy beach (if you like that kind of thing) and there is always waves so for surfing it’s good (swimming not so much)
Zac N — Google review
Absolutely splendid place! I spent my honeymoon there and I had the best time of my life. Lots of activities, super chill vibe and safe. You can go scuba diving on the little island in the horizon I've met so many nice people there and there's a big lgbt and hippie community, which is where the fun is at. No matter how you look like, you'll feel included. There's also professional surfers and fishermen as well , all sorts of cool people. Let's not forget how AMAZING the fish is at the little food place on the beach Absolutely recommend it

Best part of Florianopolis. Stunning.
Owlie W — Google review
These dunes are amazing. It costs R$20 per hour and they give you a bracelet so you are the only person allowed to use it for that hour. It is quite high and tirering so if your physical conditions aren't the best you might struggle with it. There are car parks nearby and they cost around R$10/20 per day but you can also park on the street and it will be fine. Some car parks have showers and toilets included on these prices. The boards are in good condition here and the staff is helpful. They also give you wax so the board can get more speed. The beach is nearby and you can get there walking. If the temperature is less than 25 degrees the water might be cold and it might bring jelly fishes. There are restaurants and bars in there. The dunes are just perfect and the moisture from the sea helps it to be in the best condition. Do not buy water from the place in front of it as it tastes like swage and it looks like they have bottled it themselves.

Lovely market. Worth checking out if you’re traveling and in the area.

Place is not that big, lots of small stores. Strong on small fast food places. Good fish and meat market with lots of options, on the other side the vegetables area in this building was small, you need to go out of the building and across the plaza to buy fresh fruit and vegetables. Public park not available, you need to pay for it and it is expensive.

A lot of good stores, very big food court, cozy coffeeshops with a good views. Nice and convenient location. WC are very clean and tidy. Enjoyed walking here!
Бегимай С — Google review
If you’re visiting Florianopolis, Mercado Público should be a stop on your itinerary. It’s a look back at the historic marketplace which has been recently renovated. Sure, it’s become very touristy, with souvenir shops, but locals also shop lower priced shoes and goods. Another aisle is a fish market which is worth a look to become familiar with the seafood from the region. There are a number of restaurants to have a great meal while sitting back and getting a feel for the vibe, the hustle and bustle of the “centro” or downtown. For a food tip, try a casquinha de Siri, which is a local favorite in which all the meat is removed from a crab, then it’s put back into the shell with some breading and baked. The fried shrimp is also a favorite. Try a caipirinha which is a drink made with cachaca, a Brazilian alcohol made from sugar cane. You can get a caipirinha de limão (lemon), Maracujá (passionfruit), or morango (strawberry) Be warned, it’s a sweet drink because they add sugar. You can ask for (mitar de açúcar) which is half the normal amount of sugar they add. The beer is also served in a plastic cover that keeps the bottle cold. Also great beer. Mirante do Morro da Cruz, also known as Morro da Cruz Viewpoint, offers breathtaking panoramic views of downtown Florianópolis and the surrounding bay. Perched atop a hill of the same name, this lookout provides an awe-inspiring vantage point. While the journey up the narrow and steep road may be challenging, it adds to the overall experience.
Spectacular view and a must see for anyone visiting Florianopolis.

Nice view of the city. But the access is hidden and forgotten. It's seens safe but when you park people ask for money to take care of your car. It could be much more than it it's. Still worth going.

Walked from city center a long path uphill to reach this beautiful scenic point over florianapolis
Spencer — Google review
Amazing lookout, the big drop from the viewing platform makes it seem surreal - highly recommend. The neighbourhood on the way up the hill seems a bit dodgy and the road is extremely narrow and steep. Some parts you need to remain in 1st gear otherwise the car won’t have enough power to go up! For me it all added to the experience and made the view even more rewarding
Zac N — Google review
This place saw worse, but also had seen better ones. Currently, in high season, you have a car keeper, and because of the amount of people there is quite safe. The views are incredible giving the visitor a nice perspective of the central part of the island, for multiple sides.

Fantastic, an indescribable and unique feeling. There is no photo that conveys the real magic of this island. The beauty of Florianópolis enchants anyone.

Beach
Praia do Pântano do Sul is a vast fishing beach with numerous colonies and a variety of seafood restaurants. It is located about 25 km from Armação do Pantano do Sul Beach, offering a quiet and serene atmosphere. The village of fishermen, their colorful boats, and beachfront restaurants create a charming setting. As you walk along the beach, you'll encounter surfers at one end and deserted stretches at the other.
I've travelled for 4 years in the south of Brazil and this is do far the place I've had the best experiences. There's potable water for this who pan camping. You find many trails close to the beach with camping spots and swimming in Lagoinha is one of the best things ever. It's a salty lagoon so you Float easily and smoothly. The trail from matadeiro is easier because it's "flatter", but it has more risks at some point when you get close to a cliff. I don't recommend it if it's windy. It takes 2,5/3 hours to be done. The trail from pântano do sul is up and down the mountain. If you have some more muscle power it's fine. If you don't, take it easy, but it's possible if you do it stopping many times. There's potable water on the way. Bring your trash back. Go to morro da coroa. The view is amazing.

Trilha Costa da Lagoa offers a glimpse into the history and culture of the small villages in the Lagoa da Conceicao region of Florianopolis. The well-signposted trail begins with grassy spaces offering stunning views, leading to charming houses along an easy path. Visitors can reach the starting point by car or bus and even return by boat for a different experience. Despite its length, it is easily accessible and features a wonderful landscape abundant in vegetation and dotted with rocks.
Very enjoyable hike, going through the forest (mainly) with bits by the water where the boats stop by. Bring water as there is only one spot midway where you can buy some. After about 6-7k (depending on where you start from) you reach a little village with restaurants and access to the waterfall where you can swim. Super enjoyable reward! Take a boat back to the center of Lagoa (15 reias)

Highly recommended little trail. You can start out of Lagoa and decide how far you wanna go. Every couple of meters there is a little boat bridge from where you can take a boat back into town. They go every hour and cost 15 RS. The track itself is easy and fun and shady. Lots of vegetation to see, I saw even monkeys. You cross houses and villages and small restaurant and shops come along as well.

If you are into history, then check this palace. The Cruz e Sousa Palace is home to the Santa Catarina Historical Museum. It has a neoclassical style and is named after the symbolist poet Cruz e Sousa. It is originally built to serve as the governor's residence. Construction began in the mid-18th century but faced numerous interruptions. It wasn't until the late 19th century that the palace was completed and officially became the seat of the state government. The palace stands as a reminder of the state's past, from its colonial roots to its modern identity.

Hiking Trails
Nestled in the stunning landscape of Florianopolis, the Trilha do Morro das Aranhas is a must-visit for avid hikers seeking adventure. This trail, which ascends Spider Mountain, offers a thrilling experience as it winds along steep cliffs that plunge into the roaring ocean below. The trek is not for the faint-hearted; it demands good physical fitness due to its challenging inclines and occasionally muddy paths after rain.
Relatively short hike for great views. Glad we hit this quick hike one afternoon in Floripa. A bit tough to access if you're not familiar with the area. Probably best to park at the nearest beach access and wall along the beach enter. Google drive directions take you to a private resort road access, which can be confusing.

The hike to Mozambique beach can be difficult but it is so beautiful! Definitely wear good shoes and bring water.

Incredibly awesome! The whole trail "trilha" surrounded by nature, different canopies and greener-than-green vegetation. It's 50min upside, moderate difficulty.
JuanJo ( — Google review
I was amazed by this viewpoint. All this rustic and narrow trail take you to a paceful and quiet place. Water color is an extra. It looks pure and 50 tons from blue to green. In my opinion, this trail is medium difficulty and of course you must be careful with insects and use sunscreen. No doubt, I'd come back.

It's harder than I thought initially but it's great. You just need to pay attention to the cliff and be ready to a muddy walk after the rain. The views are absolutely astonishing and the photos you take are very instagramable 😁. There are several paths but if you want to get to the Moçambique Beach (which was our intention) you need to always take the left one. Take care because near the end there is a giant boulder which you need to kinda climb and slide on it. I really don't recommend it for kids.
Kleber S — Google review
Incredible place! You may walk around 2km forward Moçambique Beach and 2km back to Santinho Beach. Although Moçambique Beach is a paradisiac site, there are no public transport or shops so you must be prepared. Carry sunglasses, sunscreen, water, some snacks, T-shirt, proper shoes. For your safety don’t start the trail too late.

(Translated by Google) The museum is small, but it is full of history. The old mansion was the residence of Victor Meirelles and some of his works were painted there. He was an extraordinary painter, with incredible realism. It is worth visiting the Museu da Escola Catarinense, which is almost opposite, on the same day. What I dislike is seeing this part of the city so dirty and neglected by the government. (Original) O museu é pequeno, mas é cheio de história. O casarão antigo era residência de Victor Meirelles e tem algumas de suas obras que foram pintadas neste local. Um pintor extraordinário, de um realismo incrível. (Translated by Google) The location is easy to access, even for tourists (which is my case). However, during my visit, I noticed that the availability of ride-hailing services, such as Uber VIP, has longer wait times, which led me to opt for Uber Comfort. This may indicate that these services are less available in the region depending on the time of day. This is a point of attention for those planning to visit the museum. My visit took place during the TUM Festival, which was holding a conference in the museum space. The MIS/SC facilities are well maintained, with well-lit spaces. I also liked the structure of the multimedia room, which is well-organized and functional. I noticed that, when I asked for information from the people who work there, the answers were curt and unwelcoming, which made it difficult for me to find my way around the space. I am not sure if the service was provided by the museum staff or by the TUM Festival organization, but I think it is important for the staff to offer a warmer welcome to visitors, especially those who are not from the region. One positive point is the on-site cafeteria, which offers delicious food at reasonable prices. This detail contributed to a pleasant experience and certainly encouraged me to want to return.

The trek takes about 30 to 40 minutes, featuring well-marked paths with helpful steps and ropes in steeper sections.
A MA ZING, really one of the best trails in Floripa. I've simply loved it. A bit tough in the beginning because it has many steps, but then it is breathtaking! And you can connect with the Galheta trail to get to the beach, super good!

Very nice place. You can either go by the real way in (paid entrance, I do not know the official price) or you can come over through Praia da Galheta. Park
Lagoa do Peri is a freshwater lagoon located in the Municipal da Lagoa do Peri Park on the Southern Island of Santa Catarina. The park features various ecosystems including rainforest and restinga, offering environments representing all stages of ecological succession. Visitors can enjoy activities such as stand-up paddleboarding on the calm waters, swimming, and kayaking. The area is also ideal for families with children, as the water remains shallow close to the shore.
BEAUTIFUL lake. You can choose to be as close to or far away from the screaming kids bit as you want to. Water never more than 1.5 metres deep in the first 100-150m from the shore and you have to wade quite far too to get to waist deep. PERFECT for kids. Restaurant at the entrance, if you want it and maybe 2-3 minutes from the shoreline. Paddle boats and paddle surfboards to hire from the beach. If you want to get totally away from the crowds it's only a 5-10 minute walk around the sides of the lake and there are trails to follow too if you are feeling adventurous. I swam right across the corner of the lake and I could touch the bottom almost all of the way. DEFINITELY worth an afternoon or whole day visit.

Naufragados Beach is a remote and pristine destination located about 28 km from downtown to Ribeirao da Ilha, followed by a 12 km unpaved road to Caiera da Barra do Sul. To reach the beach, visitors must embark on a three-kilometer hike through the hills. The name of the beach originates from an Azorean shipwreck in 1751.
Best beach in the region! To get here there is a 45 minute hike that is a little bit steep - might be difficult if you are not used to it. From there you can see the southernmost point of the island, and also the brazilian coast. The sea isn't very dangerous and there's a shallow river with very clean water and fishes. You can also climb up the rocks to the West and there is another smaller hike which leads to a great view!

(Translated by Google) The beach is spectacular, a very beautiful little beach with clear water and a phenomenal view of a small island, however it is important to point out that this place can only be accessed in two ways, either by staying at Ponta dos Ganchos Exclusive Resort or by taking the trail that starts on the left side of Praia Ganchos de Fora, which by the way is very difficult to find, it is in a small entrance to the right of a private entrance with a green gate, the trail ends right at the resort's little beach. (Translated by Google) The beach itself is very beautiful, it's a shame that the resort is taking over the space, but we didn't have any problems with that. When we arrived at the beach, we were informed that we couldn't go to the island. The entrance to the trail is a little hidden, so I marked it on the map (as shown in the images) for anyone who needs help. The entrance is next to the green gate. In general, most of the trail was clean and it's a very short route. I recommend visiting and spending the day at this beach because it's very beautiful.

(Translated by Google) The place is beautiful, the trail is very easy, only at the beginning it is a little more complicated because it is “less maintained”. To enter you have to go up to a green gate and go through a side access, it is a bit strange, but you can go without worry. Much of the area belongs to a resort, including the access to the beach is full of chairs and rest areas for guests, but you can walk around freely. (Original) O lugar é lindo, a trilha é bem tranquila, só no início é mais complicadinha pq está “menos cuidada”. Para entrar é preciso subir até um portão verde e passar por um acesso lateral, é meio estranho, mas pode ir tranquilo.
