Expected more based on the reviews. The view to Rovinj is great, water itself was kind of rusty and not so clear. Beach is with small pebbles with sharp edges, seem like construction material. There are sunbeds, plastic for 45 kuna, bamboo for 150 kuna, sorry but it is not worth it having in mind the self service and the cigarette buds between the rocks. Nice walk through the park to get to the beach is around 10-12 minutes. After 15 the beach is on a shade and there is no sun.

One of my favorites in Rovigno, just go earlier if you want to have a better spot! I recommend around 9am, 9.30. 😊

It is a dog friendly beach, so your four legged friend can go for dip. Nice views. There is ample space to park and a beach bar for refreshments. Excellent location to watch the sun go down. Three stars as it is tough going to walk on or along or in the water. Elderly people risk a fall.

This was our favourite beach nearby as it’s easy to get into the sea, there is a beach bar & toilet and plenty of parking right next to the beach so easy to take your picnic and paddle boards. Perfect place to watch sunset too.

Beautiful beach. It is rocky, both outside and in the water so it can be hard to enter/leave the water. 10 meters from the shore starts sandy area which is not very deep. Water was warm. There isn't much natural shade and it will be taken early. The beach wasn't crowded though. To reach the beach you will need to drive ~2km on pebble road. There is a big parking area and a beach bar.

Cisterna beach! Parking is up to you. There is no private parking, but plenty of places to leave your car. Getting to the beach is ok, a few km of pebble roads that are no issue if you drive slow. Part of the beach has the access road in the back (when cars pass by and if the wind blows towards the sea, some of the dust might end up on the beach) and the sea in the front. A the other part of the beach has a pine forest in the back but access to the water can be tricky. There is a bar on the beach. Very friendly staff. You can have drinks and food. Really nice. We enjoyed the beach very much. I recommend visiting this beach. It is a different experience than the other more glamorous beaches. Depends what you are after :) Hope you like it.

Great pool and beach, came here for a beach party, plenty of space to chill out despite the number of people and they really went all out with the music systems. Staff kept the place clean and the bars were well staffed, if a little pricy. They even had a big screen for the World Cup.

Beautiful, cosy, clean and very friendly organized beach, divided between three hotels... part of it is reserved for 5 star hotels... small, safe and clean bay for swimming. Also pools by side, bars... towels for hotel guests, showers on the side. Prices can be high, especially during peak season, when is also very crowded. Recommended!

Well, there are way better beaches where to go. But thats just my opinion. The beach is small and it was too crowded, it happens when theres a high season. The sea was full of jellyfishes, it wasnt a pleasant feeling if they were all over you and touching you. But they have plenty of showers, free toilet and beach. The sunbeds and umbrella was 90 euros for 2 people, like what an actual ff? I know theres lots of people who will pay for it, i did see those people. But seems like, im not a beach guy so much, i like to swim, relax a hit, have a snack, a beer, then swim again, change and leave.

We loved it. A beautiful pebble beach where you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas. If you prefer natural shade, you can relax under the pine trees. Nearby, there’s a beach bar and restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat.

Lovely walkway to the beach and coastline. 5 stars for location, and the way they have set this up...bit the pricing for sun loungers is a little crazy.(see picture) Needless to say the free beach was very busy.

Really beautiful beach near Rovinj 🏖️ We were staying in the heart of the old town and this beach was about a 40 minute walk from our apartment. You have to walk through a stunning nature park to get here and it’s worth every step. Lots of beach beds available to hire (€7 for the whole day). Water was super clear and there was a bar available to grab drinks. However we would recommend bringing your own lunch and drinks.

10/10 we went there twice during our stay. The beach is peaceful and beautiful. Good vibe and relaxing. Rocks are beautiful and the sea is crystal clear. The trees are definitely astonishing. Definitely worth spending time here

From my point of view , this is good beach. It is long with several gravel , rock, concrete slopes to sea. There are 2bars , several changing rooms , toilets on both sides, free gravel parking places.

nice beach. you can see Rovinj from this beach. however the water wasn't too clean when I went here. we went to the watersport game and the water around was full of something seem to be toilet paper and we saw a condom in the water... some people were leaving their rubbish behind. This is definitely not one of croatian top beaches but water is good and clean..the good thing is that is not to busy too..there is beach bar and you will get some comfort too..

Plaza je prekrivena sitnim oblim sljunkom, vrlo ugodnim za hodanje i lezanje, udaljeniji dio plaze je prekriven travnatom povrsinom taj dio nema bas puno hlada. What a cracking experience. From the signature cocktail to the petit fours, the menu and food was great. We chose the Blue menu. My favourite dishes were the egg, predessert (the mint/lime), lamb tenderloin and the pani puri with black truffle.

I had been really looking forward to visiting Monte, especially as the first Michelin-starred restaurant in Croatia — my expectations were high. The service was absolutely outstanding, and the sommelier was excellent, guiding us through a thoughtful wine selection. That said, the food left me a bit disappointed. With the incredible quality of products available in Croatia, I felt the menu could have been more attractive and creative. Some dishes were definite highlights, but others simply did not deliver. The ideas behind certain plates were interesting, yet the execution and choices could have been stronger. Perhaps we made a mistake by choosing the premium menu; maybe the alternative menu, with the same products worked in a different way, would have been a better fit. Still, I do believe it’s worth visiting Monte — the portions are fair, and there are memorable moments throughout the meal. I was just expecting more from a Michelin-starred experience

A beautiful forest park with stunning paths for walking and cycling. The costal paths are shaded by pine trees wide with easy access to the crystal clear sea. There are many cafes to grab coffee and snacks. The most stunning scenery and all beautifully maintained. We hired bikes from RM.

I do really love this beach. Shame there's not more on offer in terms of food and facilities like shower/loo. It's otherwise beautiful. The one café only has some drinks and ham/cheese sandwich on offer and you have to pay a euro to use the loo. That's the downside.

Favourite place in Rovijn. I want to come back with a bike, but it's so nice on foot. It would be good if there were more restrooms, we didn't have one where we were swimming, it was a 15 min walk. But it's wild and natural, what we prefer.

I just love this place. From the campsite Polari to city center Rovinj it's about 4 km on foot on the gravel promenade all along the coastal line. Walk with occasional dip in the sea, finish with late luch or dinner in city center. 😍

Civil beach has different options. An inner beach for kids. A rocky beach for adventure and a Pebble stone beach. Further up there is a naturist beach for the people that are interested. Because it offers so much we are giving it 5 stars. Parking was easy and the general vibe was perfect! Trees over natural shade. Basically one of the best places to go.

I almost don’t want to share this, because Cuvi is such a great spot. Of all the beaches along the Golden Cape, it’s the most accessible, with clear water and plenty of space to relax on the grass or under the pine trees. There’s even a beach club for drinks, snacks, or pizza. Just bring swimming shoes, because the rocky shore makes them a must.

Excellent organisation. Greenery is absolutely fantastic. All beaches (4,5 km ) are surrounded by old trees with lot of shade. Countless number of sun beds which are free to use. Swimming pool area is perfect and handicapped accessible. Room is cosy, comfortable and clean. All restaurants and beach bars are perfect. Whole complex is crisp clean and well maintained. Most valuable and important are people working here. Everyone is friendly, always ready to answer, speaks multiple languages. Everyone knows it's part in this organisation. In all, absolutely perfect place for holiday.

Outstanding luxury camping with great facilities. We used our tent to get a bit down to basics. Downside are the growing number of huge bus-size campers (like Centurion and Concorde 5*) and large caravans running their airconditioning continuously, even when they are away. This makes a constant annoying noise for their neighbours.

Absolutely the best there is. Wonderful staff both in reception, cleaning, restaurants and everywhere else. Our mobile home was spotless and well equipped. Pitches are generally very big and nicely kept. Facilities blocks are first class. Maybe not the cheapest but value for money can't be beaten. Easy drive, cycle, bus, taxi into Rovinj but you do not need to leave the resort for anything if you don't want to. Lots of good bars and restaurants, shops for all needs. Take an FKK boat trip on the MB Orsera, for a wonderful experience (take clothes to wear for stop offs!) Tickets from the marina beside the office. We've booked for next year already. Been to all the FKK resorts in Istria, Valalta leaves all others standing. This is a genuine review by a Google tour guide.

Rovinj is the most beautiful city in Croatia for me. Rich history, beautiful architecture and a good atmosphere are always a good magnet to visit. Beautiful narrow buildings, squares, churches, streets, restaurants, bars make this place unparalleled. So is the entrance to the old city from the city square through the beautiful baroque Balbi's arch unique. Balbi's arch, Venetian structure is covered with stone. In its present place was once the main gate of a fortified city, the Porton della pescheria. In 1678 - 1679, the old city gates were demolished and Balbi's arch was built in their place. Built in the time of Mayor Daniel Balbi, as evidenced by the inscription on a stone slab placed on the arch. At the top of the arch is a figure of the head, on the outside of the arch is in Turkish style, and on the inside of the Venetian style. Also on Balbi's arch there is a figure of Venetian lion. The thing that stands out on Rovinj panorama is this Church with its tall bell tower. It's perched on top of the hill of Rovinj old town peninsula. The church is nice but nothing special. The tower visit is worthwhile experience. Going up the stairs is an adventure which keeps the old structure untouched. The panoramic views from the top of the tower are breathtaking.

A very large church, elaborate interiors more reminiscent of Cathedral type spaces. Colorful and detailed in a way that draws the eye in many different directions. I took time to explore the interior before paying a small extra charge to climb to 60 metre tower. Soon rediscovered my fear of heights as I made my way up the narrow steps, every one of which you can see through to the flight below. The climb is worth it for the views from the top in all directions. Expect it to be busy, and to have to wait in turn for your perfect photo opportunity. Also be prepared to wait on the steps as others pass up and down.

No reduced fee for kids over 5 years....but the staers are horrible even for an adult.... If I will do it again....they should pay me to go upstairs...but the view is one of the best I have ever seen

My favorite island in Croatia but with condition you arrive on your own boat...on island is everything...nice swimming pool,nice beaches all around,2 great restaurants,coffee shops,nude beach,great hotel,ferry boat connection to Rovinj....I come to island every year....

They have changed the ferry system, it now does not work, there is no sign that you need to buy the ferry on the harbour from the random guy who you don't notice so the ferry leaves without you and its an hour till the next one. Staff are rude and good luck getting a ferry back at peak times, used to be superb now spoilt by the ferries, I would not recommend anymore

Nice hotel, no central beach but many many places to lie down and access the water, no cars, semi public (only accessible by ferry, only 1 hotel), great breakfast.

The aquarium is small, half an hour is enough to see it. It is true the aquarium needs a little renovation. Everything seems outdated and as if no one really cares about the animals as much as they should. Any new ideas for refresh would be welcome in my opinion.

Very small aquarium on sea front. About 20 fish tanks over two small room. 20 Kuna per person so about £4.40 for the two of us. About 30 mins entertainment. Pula has a bigger offering for live fish lovers...I thought that the Sea Bass looked yummy.

Don't expect much from this aquarium, as it is small and bit old. But, we enjoyed it and saw some nice see inhabitants. We just didn't rush it and veiw it patience. It's also not expensive.

Most od the area rocs and quite hard accessible if you are into swimming. Terrible pollution. Entire wood area covered with litter. Everything is full of used tissues, used con-doms and plastic bottles. City of Rovinj should do something about this!

Wow its so nice to be free, I absolutely loved it, stripped off and walked around to find a spot, lots going on, enjoyed myself the bar was great value too, I certainly enjoyed my time on the beach ⛱️ would recommend to anyone.

I booked the free tour with the Tourist Board, and I highly recommend it. Our guide, Anele, was really kind and she explained us a lot of facts about the life in Rovinj. The 2 hours walk is really worthy, and you have a nice surprise at the end of the tour :) Go for this tour, you won't regret it!

Hotel Adriatic - 5 Stars Historical town - 5 Stars BUT !!! why oh why do you allow buskers to play over loud amplified music every single day - the same two instruments and the same two playlists every single day - We stayed for 7 nights at the Hotel Adriatic and never , ever again It's the worst noise pollution we have ever experienced ! Ruined our experience !

Once but never again – overpriced and disappointing We stayed at Camping Polari (Maistra) in early June and were assigned a nice, spacious premium pitch – number 40. Even though it was outside peak season, we paid €62 per night. That would’ve been fine if the rest of the experience matched the price. To be fair: the pitch was great and the sanitary facilities were clean. But that’s about where the positives end. What really shocked us were the outrageous extra costs for basic things. Want to lie on a sunbed by the pool? That’s €9 per bed. Need a parasol? Add another €5. For two people, that’s €19 per day just to relax by the pool. Don’t want to pay? Then you’re kindly directed to a grassy field with a few old grey loungers. A simple croissant at the bakery? Nearly €3. The on-site supermarket and restaurant? Also overpriced. Now, we’re fortunate enough to be able to afford it, but let’s be honest – we’re not stupid. For families, this place must be a complete financial nightmare. To us, this felt like pure money-grabbing, and we really dislike that. Once is more than enough – we won’t be coming back. ⭐️ 1 star – only because of the clean facilities and nice pitch. Everything else: a big disappointment.

Expensive but worth every penny. We visited at the end of may and had a premium pitch. Very big and only a few neighbors. Very new and clean sanitary buildings. Very clean campsite with every kind of facilities. 10 minutes with E-bike to Rovinj. Beaches, parks, wineries and good restaurants close by. And very dog friendly. We enjoyed it very much. But we will not visit it in the summer when it will be completely filled with families with children.

One of the most fantastic campsites we have ever been. Professional and friendly service everywhere. Sanitair is clean and nice. And the restaurants are super. Beautiful sea and everything is organized and done to give you a pleasant stay. For us goes that they more than succeeded.

Overall excellent, however, very disappointed that halfway through our stay, charges were imposed for sunbeds and parasols in the pool area and along the seafront . These charges were significant (around 20 Euro per day for family) and not explained prior to our stay.

We stayed with our camper van for 4 nights. The staff (Ivan and Endi) were very helpful and pro active when we had to change our pitch on the first day. The campsite is a few kms south of Rovinj so you can cycle or take the water taxi or bus so location is very good It is a large busy resort (we stayed 19th June to 23rd June) so outside these busy times might be preferable if not travelling with children. All in all the staff were very helpful and the amenities ie toilets/showers (in the Premium area) were very good and well looked after. Thank you

It was a beautiful holiday but 2 things were really annoying which you could easily change: - beach sunbeds on the left side of the map should at least be without further costs for the premium mobile homes, that shouldn’t be too many additional people - invest in the beach - change the middle beach so that it looks like the left one. One time invest but everything would have more space and would be used more. I don’t want to imagine how full the left beach is in August That were the 2 points I also heard often by other guests who simply won’t come back. Great place, remote and peaceful location. We’ll organized area with play grounds, great and clean beach, water taxi to Rovinj, restaurants and store on prem. We sated in mobile homes (superior relax), and it was great, kitchen was well equipped with all necessaries. Great terrace area where we spend most of our evenings. I would greatly recommend Maistra Camping site and we will defiantly return to this great place.

Modern and clean campsite, but completely overpriced. Nearly 70 € per night for a standard pitch is hard to justify – especially when everything else comes with steep extra charges. Want to use a sunbed and umbrella by the pool or beach? That’s another 45 € per day for two people. Feels like you’re being milked at every opportunity. The pool uses saltwater – not a problem in itself, but at these prices you'd expect premium facilities, not seawater pumped in on the cheap. On top of that, there was loud construction starting at 7 a.m., with heavy machinery operating less than 20 meters from our spot – and not even a small discount for the disruption. More generally: Croatia seems to be losing touch with reality. Prices are climbing higher and higher – absurdly high, in fact. Many places are now 1.5 to 2 times more expensive than Italy. And while Italy has a century of tourism experience and understands how to strike the balance between premium pricing and genuine hospitality, that sense is completely lacking here. Tourism in Croatia is still relatively new, and it shows. Guests are squeezed for every cent, without the service or atmosphere to match. That might work in the short term – but long-term, it’s a recipe for decline. Sadly, they’ll probably have to learn that the hard way. Not recommended. Wouldn’t return.

The mobilehome and it's amenities exceeded our expectations: very new and modern, very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our stay (preseason) very much and will come back for another visit.

I had a perfect stay in Camping Amarin. I was traveling alone and chose an off-season slot because I had that flexibility and got a great deal. I had a very nice mobile home that gave me much more than I needed. The place was quiet, chill, close to the beach and had lots of activities and entertainment offerings. Last year I also stayed in Koversada Campsite, part of Maistra group, and I was equally pleased with the location, offer and service. I'm sure I will be happy to return to any of the Maistra sites again in the beautiful Istria, close to Rovinj and Vrsar!

I grew up on the South Coast with pebbles and the English Channel. ...The boss had a wonderful sandy beach in South Shields but the North Sea is always cold. On a warm day a sea fret ruins the sun. Thus this beach is OK by world standards and good for Croatia. Great facilities.

We discovered this place when we arrived at Golden Cape beach. The atmosphere is beautiful, with plenty of seating and super comfortable sofas. We had an orange Cedevita and a beer, and decided to try the snacks: you can choose between a full bag of paprika or regular chips. It’s perfect for those who want to relax on the sofas or loungers, while still being right by the beach. There’s always music playing in the background, and it’s self-service: you order at the counter and bring it to your table (there are no waiters, just staff behind the bar). A charming spot, definitely worth a visit.

7€ for a sandwich that comes with a little bit of prosciutto, fake cheese, and a couple pieces of pickles. They don't even have ketchup/ mayo.., and some extra vegetables to add inside a sandwich. They should say that before charging it. 0.5l soft drinks cost 4€. The only thing why this place survives by my opinion is location.

Just 15 minutes walk from Rovinj, across the small peninsula in the shade of the forest is this beach. It is natural, with large rocks. The water is clear and easy accessible. It is open to topless and nudism too.

We biked around here. Was stunning. Gravel pathways with Sea views and lots of trees for shade.

I visited this calm and beautiful island as part of a kayaking tour, and it was an unforgettable experience. The water was crystal-clear and incredibly clean, perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Unlike many other spots I’ve visited, the shoreline here was much smoother, with fewer rocks, making it ideal for snorkelling and relaxing in the shallows. Beyond the water, the island offered tranquil paths for a peaceful stroll, and a few benches where you can sit, unwind, and take in the serene surroundings. A perfect little escape into nature.

The island is a true gem just off the coast of Rovinj. Reachable by 5 min ferry boat ride that runs about every hour. Once you arrive, you get surrounded by lush greenery that provides comfy shade and fantastic scent, perfect on a hot summer day. It feels like a natural park, quiet and unspoiled, with walking paths that lead to hidden coves and rocky beaches. St. Andrew’s Island is a true gem for people who want to run away from the noise and chaos of a large city and truly indulge in what Croatia has offer in terms of nature, clean turquoise sea and tranquility of pine forest. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are well maintained. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. We look forward to coming back each year!
