Its a Lovely walk with the Dog and wild life just taking a bath 😍

Fantastic dog walking beach.
Malcolm P — Google review
Lovely beach - very popular for dog walking as there is usually a little sand available even at high tides. Pay and display parking area (small). Some local shops for coffee and ice cream. Are around the edge is built up with benches available. Good view if the steam train as it passes by.
Andy A — Google review
Could be lovely but too busy when sunny. One beach has too many dogs and the other has too many people. Good beach for children as there is lots of sand and the beach shelves very gently so is nice and safe. No good eating places. Very much a cheap? And cheerful place but not for me
Outside B — Google review
We had a fabulous couple of visits to this beach on our holiday, it's great for soaking up the sun & our son loved making a sandcastle & having a splash in the sea. It's close to a large water park, a pub, shops & small eateries. Well worth a visit. 👍🏖
Katrina — Google review
Great beach with one end being dog friendly all year round
Dene G — Google review
Lovely beach with a good measure of sand and rock pools. The coffee/burger place next to the waterpark on the seafront was really overpriced given the awful food on sale. I don't generally expect a lot but this was not nice. The ice cream place was lovely though 😋There is another place on the opposite end of the beach that looked much better (not tried it yet). Beach is very clean and family friendly, toilets are good, 30p a wee 😄
Emma-Jane S — Google review
Only went at night so can't say much for the scenery 🤣 but it was a lovely quiet beach for a dog walk and was great for using the longlines. Easy access from the carpark . Overall really enjoyed

Broadsands Beach, located between Paignton and Brixham, is a family-friendly sandy beach with tide pools, beach huts, and a cafe offering sandwiches and ice cream. The area also features a large parkland behind the beach for games and barbecues. Visitors can explore the coastline connected to Torbay via the South West Coast Path, discovering lesser-known coves like Elberry Cove and Oyster Cove.
Beautiful beach with great views towards Torquay. Lovely place for a stroll or a coffee and a bite to eat at one of the two cafes.
Chris K — Google review
A beautiful and peaceful spot that’s perfect for a relaxing day out by the sea. With its wide sandy shoreline, calm waters, and surrounding greenery, it offers a scenic escape that’s especially great for families, couples, or anyone wanting to enjoy some quiet time by the coast. The beach is ideal for paddleboarding, kayaking, and even exploring the rock pools when the tide’s low. There’s a lovely promenade lined with colourful beach huts, and nearby parkland makes it great for picnics or casual games. Facilities are well maintained, with toilets, showers, cafés, and even deckchair and boat hire available during the season. The car park and bike racks are conveniently close, and there’s a gentle slope leading to the beach, although access to the sand itself involves some steps. It’s also worth noting that dogs aren’t allowed on the main beach between May and September, but there is a nearby dog-friendly section. All in all, Broadsands is a charming, clean, and well-equipped beach that’s well worth visiting if you're in the Torbay area.
AsabaYT — Google review
Big car park easy access to prom and cafes. Steps down to the beach. A wide beach, pretty flat for walking, not much beach when high tide but water goes out a long way at low tide. Safe bathing but no lifeguards. Grass area behind the beach huts great for picnics or games.
Martin W — Google review
Visited here during the August bank holiday late afternoon (sunset) was lovely the beach is small but loads of parking uses the RingGo app. Loads of seaweed but the kids loved it building a wall of seaweed!! Loads of skimming stones which I enjoyed! Really peaceful and beautiful! Couple of cafes either side didn't visit these but very handy!
David K — Google review
Lovely beach, two good food outlets and a place to hire deckchairs etc. Lovely and flat, so when the tide is out ideal for kids. Some of the locals are a bit precious, questioned where we were from and whether we would feed the seagulls.
Grant M — Google review
Great beach, really good kayaking hire place as well, which also have showers available if required when you get out the water. Nice cafes either end of the beach, had a really good day here stayed about 6 hours, there is a pay car park.

Great walk and amazing views. A lovely beach to walk your dog, go swimming and paddling and other water sports. Two little cafes and toilets available. Easy access to the South West Coast Path for amazing walks. There is always plenty of wildlife around.

Preston Sands is a long, sandy beach that is a favorite among families and sunbathers. The beach features colorful huts that can be rented, adding to its vibrant atmosphere. It has been awarded the Blue Flag Award and is popular with locals due to its friendly ambiance. For those seeking a quieter spot, nearby Hollicombe Beach or Fairy Cove offer shingle and red sand along with fascinating rock pools for exploration.
Fantastic beach for families. Sheltered so calmer waters for paddle boarding. Tide times aren't great and high tide wipes out the beach, but go early and have a great day. Bar next to the beach in high season for refreshments, public (payable) toilets and kids play park on field behind. Carpark is either a long the road or just off the main road at the end of cul-de-sac (big public car park).

This is a lovely beach quite safe for familys as the beach just slopes gradually so no shelf to deal with 2 pubs for food paddle boarding available here too. Couple of kiosks for snacks and ice creams, go karts and a small water park.

Paignton Beach is a popular sandy beach with a long pier, offering swimming opportunities and nearby cafes and arcades. Walking from the town centre to the beach, one can't help but notice the aroma of fresh doughnuts and ice cream in the air. The beach is known for its mix of sea air and sweet treats, making it a bustling place especially during warmer months. It's also a great spot for winter strolls with fewer crowds.

Paignton Beach is a charming spot on the English Riviera that offers a classic seaside experience with plenty to enjoy for all ages. The sandy shoreline is wide and inviting, making it perfect for sunbathing, beach games, or a relaxing stroll by the water. The nearby Paignton Pier adds a nostalgic touch, with arcades, food stalls, and traditional amusements that bring the holiday spirit alive. The beach is conveniently located near the town centre and train station, with easy access to shops, cafés, and family attractions. While it can get quite busy during peak summer months and parking may be limited, the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Whether you're visiting for a day or staying longer, Paignton Beach offers a delightful mix of relaxation and fun by the sea.
AsabaYT — Google review
The beach is large, but not entirely sandy because it's full of rocks. Right next to it is a large pier with games, activities, and a place to eat. Parking is right by the beach. Next to the beach are beautiful red cliffs that are worth a look.😀😀
ThisIsMexD — Google review
Lovely beach, family and kids friendly fun. Sandy beach with hardly any rocks or stones and when tide is out lots of shallow water for small ones but also paddle boarding and boogie boarding or snorkelling etc. Would recommend coming out early in the day to get a spot in the summer months. Lots of food trucks around the area all along the beach from pizza to coffee and ice cream etc.

Enjoyable place. Games and foodie,😍👌I recently had the chance to spend some time in Paignton, and it was a truly enjoyable experience that I’m happy to share. From the moment I arrived, the town had such a welcoming atmosphere. The seafront is charming, with its traditional pier, colorful beach huts, and wide sandy beach that immediately sets the mood for a relaxing getaway. Whether walking along the promenade or just sitting by the shore, the views of the bay are absolutely beautiful, especially on a clear day when the water sparkles. Immu loving
Imran M — Google review
Lovely place for a walk when the tides out. Good for dog walkers.

This is my weekly spot to enjoy the seasons change with lunch and coffee breaks. I’d recommend the flat stroll along the seafront with places to drink coffee and eat.
Matthew S — Google review
A lovely promenade with a pier and is a great place to relax, chill and take in the ambiance. There are plenty of bars across the road with outside seating on a sunny day. There is a Vue cinema close by when the weather turns so lots to keep everyone occupied.

Torre Abbey Sands is a beautiful soft sand beach situated in Torquay. It is Blue Flag certified and dog friendly from May to September. There are toilets, cafes and snack stalls available for the obligatory ice cream.
This place as all ways held a special place in my heart and to return felt absolutely amazing ... Fish and chips are great and the sea is amazing. The only downside I found are people now are more arrogant becareful as people will cut in front of you or even bump into you with out apologising but other then that it's an amazing place to come to!
Davey J — Google review
+/- There are better beaches in the UK. It's a small sandy beach with quite a few rocks. The benefit this beach has over others is that it's in the town with all the amenities that come with that. Water shoes and a wetsuit are recommended. We couldn't see any lifeguards although an area is barriered off for the swimmers. !The report of one of the other reviewers that the water quality is terrible is false. At the moment of writing the quality is excellent; for the most actual reading please check the following website: https://environment.data.gov.uk/bwq/profiles/

Torre Abbey Sands is one of Torquay's most inviting beaches - wide, clean, and with beautifully soft golden sand that's perfect for barefoot walks or building sandcastles. It's easily accessible from the town centre and right by the seafront promenade, making it ideal for a spontaneous beach day. At low tide, the beach really opens up, and the shallow waters are great for paddling or a safe swim. On sunny days, it gets a lively buzz, but there's still space to stretch out and relax. With cafés, toilets, and ice cream stands nearby, everything you need is within reach. A brilliant spot for both locals and visitors.
AsabaYT — Google review
Enjoyed a leisurely stroll along this wide sandy beach. It's easy to access: steps with a handrail lead down to the sands, and there's also a wheelchair accessible ramp next to the promenade bridge. The clean reddish sand, with hardly any shingle, is perfect for young children to run about and play. When I was there, there were lots of people paddling in the sea. Great views of Torquay and all along the coast. There's a beach café where you can buy a coffee or an alcoholic drink, and there are also paddleboards for hire, kayaks, and snorkelling equipment. Abbey Park and Meadow are just across the road, and it's only a short walk from the harbour and other seafront attractions.
Valerie H — Google review
Clean shallow water great location. Limited time available due to tide changing but great beach nonetheless.
Yi W — Google review
Was lovely in high tide but not a clean beach

A small beach with beach huts for hire. Lovely little rock pools with wildlife and a nice day out. There is a chip shop and ice cream store about 20 meters away but they don’t take card!

A nice clean beach, and not too busy, however it’s not disability friendly. We walked a while and didn’t see any slopes down to the sand, so were forced to stay on the paved sides.

Paignton Sands is the quintessential destination for a family seaside getaway on the English Riviera. This expansive sandy beach offers everything you need for a perfect day in the sun, from safe swimming in its shallow, clear waters to thrilling activities like crazy golf and pedalos. The iconic pier adds to the charm with its delightful cafés, kiosks, and arcades that keep everyone entertained.
Loved it here, sand does have quite a bit of seaweed but it's not a deal breaker, seagulls are a pain but aren't they always, the sea goes out a bit but you can walk out for a fair while up to the waist, liveley warm water, pier was good too, food was also good..
Nicola B — Google review
Chasing sunrise here is the best way to start your day.
Gill — Google review
Some parts looked ok but there did seem to be alot of seaweed in certain areas. The sea itself looked clean enough but in honesty I didn't get that close.
Paul O — Google review
Clean beach, clear water, nice pier admission free. Town is only as short 5 minute walk
Neil B — Google review
A really nice, long beach. It’s flat and sand, not pebble. The tide seems to stay close to the edge of the beach, so it’s not too far to walk to get to the water which is great. This also means that people can’t really crowd around you. The parking is very close by, both along the front of the beach and a long stay near by. The sand is reddish in colour, which is neat.
Amy C — Google review
Great place to visit. The beaches are good and most beaches have a shop and toilets nearby
Dan C — Google review
It's not too bad here. You could hurt yourself accessing beach because of steps and a curved wall. The beach is very sandy but sea water isn't clear, and has got lots of floating seaweed in places. It's commercialised and live music was being belted out from a pub and you could hear it from a quarter of a mile away. The Harvester pub looked like a farm to feed geese as you walked passed it too.
Mr D — Google review
Really pretty, lots of amusements. Visited in the school holidays so obviously was packed and everything seemed extra expensive but that's probably a given after the year everyone's had. The peir was a bit of a let down, the arcades were very expensive and didn't really give anything, so we chose to go to one further into town. Would return though, it was lovely to walk along the beach in the evenings.

Hollicombe Beach is a hidden gem nestled between Torre Abbey Sands and Paignton, offering a secluded and picturesque red-sand coastline. Accessible through a pedestrian tunnel from Hollicombe Park, this beach provides a tranquil escape from the crowds. With its warm waters, sunbathers and swimmers will appreciate the sheltered bay's English Riviera vibes.
Tucked away between Paignton and Torquay, Hollicombe Beach is a peaceful hidden gem that's perfect if you're looking to escape the crowds. The striking red cliffs and golden sand make it incredibly scenic, especially at sunset. Access is easy via a sloped path, and there's a tunnel that adds a bit of character to the entrance. It's ideal for relaxing walks, beachcombing, or a quiet picnic. Not overly commercialized, so it feels more natural and unspoiled. There are no major facilities on the beach itself, so it's worth bringing what you need for the day. Great for families, couples, or solo visitors who appreciate a calmer beach vibe. Just be mindful of the tide, as it can come in quite far. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Paignton area!
AsabaYT — Google review
I can't believe I've never been here before. It's not the biggest of beaches, but there is sand. Awesome views of the coastline and out to sea. Apparantly it's dog friendly too which is handy to some. Perfect for kids who want to collect shells. Seems to be a pill box/army bunker in the hills looking oit to sea(i maybe wrong).Perfect location for sun all day long! I really do recommend this place. And to get here you go through some beautiful well maintained gardens/park.
Jon_the_explorer — Google review
The place has a very beautiful view and the place is great for surf. However there is a sewage discharging right into the sea. People get in the water regardless, so it might not be harmful, but I found it gross.

Hallicombe Beach in Torquay is an absolute gem! The stunning red cliffs create a breathtaking backdrop against the clear blue waters, making it a perfect spot for relaxing and soaking up the scenery. The beach is clean, well-maintained, and ideal for both sunbathing and leisurely strolls along the shore. The calm, shallow waters are great for swimming, and it’s a peaceful escape from the busier nearby beaches. Whether you're looking for tranquility or a picturesque spot to enjoy with family and friends, Hallicombe Beach is a must-visit!

Paignton Pier is a classic British seaside attraction that has been welcoming visitors since 1879. This family-friendly entertainment complex offers a variety of activities, including tenpin bowling, fairground rides, crazy golf, and a cafe. The pier features traditional amusement arcades with games for all ages and even has a Jurassic Park themed crazy golf course. Visitors can enjoy stunning views along the seafront during the day and experience the pier's neon lights reflected in the water at night.
The pier is quite long but it's all covered with games and fun. It all looks nice, but everything is old and not everything works or doesn't accept money. There's a nice golf course at the end of the pier. There are also takeaways here. You can always come and have fun with your family.😀😀😀
ThisIsMexD — Google review
The pier itself is lovely and the views off the end are well worth the walk. My issue was with the arcades,it was quite obvious that the games are all rigged not to pay out. I've never played a 2p machine that literally didn't drop a single coin. It's a real shame because the place is well looked after and could easily be a nice place to spend an hour if they weren't cheating people.
Paul O — Google review
Very clean and tidy pier all the kiosks and children's rides looked new! The 2p arcade was fun and again very clean. At the end of the pier is a crazy golf Jurassic Park with dinosaurs. Great fun for all the family and great photo opportunities.
Sue R — Google review
The arcade is exceptional - some real exclusive games and the ticket grabbing is fun with decent prizes. Some machines you've probably not seen before. And in good state of repair - how many arcades have broken machines? Exactly, these are proper with plenty of staff to help out if tickets get jammed.
Andrew P — Google review
It was one of the best piers we've been on. There was so much for families to do same applied to paignton, we really enjoyed our visit.from the moment we stepped on the pier there were food kiosks then game stalls and amusements up to you get to a crazy golf at the e d, non stop fun for the kids, non stop pay out for mum and dad but if you get a bad day it's really good
Jane A — Google review
This is such a lovely retro day out. We spent several hours here. So many lovely retro games. The payout machines are definitely rigged (claw machines, 2p machines etc), but this is expected. We have fun on them regardless. There are lots of lovely photo opportunities, and the view is quite beautiful at the end of the pier. We didn't play the golf but it looked like fun. They have the traditional carnival snacks as well which is nice. We will definitely come again.
Lisa P — Google review
Nice pier, with lots of Amusements and a mini golf course at the end. Watch out for the dinos though. Great views of the bay and beach.
David S — Google review
Lovey pier to visit, great for kids and big adults alike. Free to go on. Your usual penny arcades, with a crazy golf course at the end. You are able to walk to the end of the pier without any problems.

Fairy Cove is a charming little gem tucked away between Roundham and Paignton Harbour, perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat. This delightful beach may not boast grand expectations, but it offers a serene atmosphere that invites relaxation. At high tide, it presents itself as a quaint stretch of sand nestled behind striking red cliffs. However, when the tide recedes, Fairy Cove transforms into an explorer's paradise with fascinating rock pools waiting to be discovered—ideal for families armed with fishing nets!
Lovely little beach for dogs. It’s so annoying dogs not allowed on most beaches in Torquay. My dog only leaves paw prints. This one though is great.
Mandy K — Google review
This little dog friendly beach was perfect. Lovely cove, with rock pools, a lovely beach and places to shelter out of the sun. We watched the dogs running, people both swimming and relaxing next to the clear blue sea. Hidden behind the harbour, it was peaceful and definitely somewhere we will come again.
Tracey M — Google review
A hidden little gem! It was nice to find a quiet location away from the busier area nearby. There is plenty of parking in the nearby carpark and a short stroll to the cliff top and down the steps to the little cove. It's great to see somewhere that dogs can enjoy, too. Toilets are a short stroll around the harbour where you pay to use. Overall, It was worth the short stop to explore.
Mjdenness — Google review
Lovely dog friendly little cove. Accessed by a dozen or so steps from the harbour wall. Mixture of shingle & sand with shady areas underneath the cliffs. No cafe or toilet but a minutes walk to shops, cafe’s & restaurants. Gets busy at the weekend so on street parking can be difficult
Rachel P — Google review
Lovely little hidden dog friendly beach. More pebbles and shingle than sand, and fairly small, but ideal for exploring with our dog. We struggled to find a nice dog friendly beach as most don't permit dogs after the 1st May ( our visit was mid May and the beaches were pretty quiet), so it seemed a real shame that we were unable to take our dog on the nicer, sandier beaches.

Meadfoot Beach is a charming shingle beach located in the English Riviera, just a 30-minute walk from Torre Abbey Beach. This Blue Flag-winning beach offers a picturesque setting with views of the coastline, cliffs, and Thatcher Island. It's less crowded than other touristy beaches and is popular among locals. Visitors can enjoy safe swimming under lifeguard supervision and explore rock pools during low tide. The area also features seasonal amenities such as toilets and a cafe for convenience.
Lovely little gem that doesn't get too crowded. Stoney beach with some sand, especially when the tide goes out. Nice, friendly cafe with 30p to pay toilets. Some on-road parking but paid parking at one end. Calm waters with lots of outcrops, which can be kayak around. Looking across to Brixham makes this an attractive little cove.

Meadfoot Beach is a true hidden gem in Torquay. It has a peaceful, relaxed vibe that's perfect if you're looking to escape the crowds. The water is clean and calm-ideal for a refreshing swim or paddleboarding. The views across the bay are stunning, especially in the early morning or around sunset. There's a mix of rocky and pebbly areas, so beach shoes come in handy. I also appreciated the beach huts and the little café nearby, which adds to the charm. Definitely worth visiting if you love quiet coastal walks and tranquil seaside moments.
AsabaYT — Google review
We took the coastal path by the harvester in Torquay and walked up through the hills past Daddyhole and into Meadfoot. It was a lovely walk. I did get lost at one point though but that's my bad direction! We started about 9:30pm so it was going dark but was a lovely hike! We arrived about an hour later so was dark but still a beautiful view!

Continuing our adventures around Torbay we caught the bus to Wellswood and turned left walking past beautiful huge houses in the general direction of the sea. And…lo and behold we ended at Meadfoot beach which was really peaceful, basking in glorious sunshine and feeling like the vibe of a Mediterranean hideaway cove. Probably only the 2nd time I have been here and I have never sat and admired it in its glory. Pebbles, stones and some sand it wasn’t deterring the families enjoying and swimming …floating around looking at speed boats and day trip boats. Nice little cafe too with a good snack menu and then we strolled via Daddyhole back to Torquay which was only 15 to 20 minutes ….wow crazy we haven’t enjoyed it before. We will be back…
Colin B — Google review
Lovely place to swim, to jump into water, coastering, to paddle board, beautiful views, 2 showers to be used, a coffee shop, forest nearby, coastal paths. Some free parking if you are lucky. If is windy, best to enjoy the views and not adventure into sea :)
Ionela F — Google review
Awesome little beach to go paddleboarding and swimming. Beach disappears at high tide. You can easily reach the London Bridge Arch from here by SUP or Kayak. Very limited parking so make sure you get here early. If you don't want to pay, there is few onstreet parking spaces, they've filled up by 9am this morning. A cafe and public toilets above the beach. Toilet 30p to use, contactless payments only.
Dom K — Google review
Loverly place, little polluted with people but that’s to be expected on such a day, loverly clear sky’s and good view! Weather was 31 degrees and felt like it too. Sea was clear and quite blue. Wish there was some sort of gif shop along with the cafe where you could get beach essentials such as blow up rings, sun glasses, cream and so on. Met a loverly crow on walk back to car, video of said crow included.

Elberry Cove is a serene and sheltered beach with clear waters, a rocky shore, and the ruins of a historic bath house. It can be reached by walking over the headland at the eastern side of Broadsands Beach and through a short wooded area. The cove is popular with locals due to its secluded location and crystal-clear waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming. Additionally, visitors can enjoy seal-spotting in the area.
My favourite cove in Paignton (and possibly even within the UK so far!) a little gem with crystal clear blue water. Pebbles are just so much cleaner than sand, beautiful path that leada to the cove with spectacular views 😍 wish I could have stayed longer in the nearby waterside park holidays (caravan park) both relaxing and fun area for kids with the splashpark also nearby
Kalsoum K — Google review
What a beautiful little cove. A perfect mix of large pebbles to walk on and a sandy water side beach. A really pretty spot. I imagine this gets busy in the summer, but on a spring day it was peaceful and scenic.
Zoe ( — Google review
A perfect little cove with a pebble beach. Surrounded by green and facing across Torbay to Torquay. Quiet, even on a sunny late spring evening (apart from a couple of Jetskis). Pink limestone channels in the rocks to the left. The walk to it is beautiful, too.

Beautiful place. Wet shoes are essential as it’s a full stone beach (good if you don’t like sand, not so good for children to play). Parking cheap at broad sands car park, followed by a stunning 10 minute walk round to the cove, easy to find just follow the footpath to the right of the car park. A much quieter, picturesque place compared to being packed like sardines at broadsands beach.
G — Google review
Lovely little cove. Stoney beach so water shoes are called for. Really nice and feels secluded without being miles from the hustle and bustle, not that there’s much hustle, or indeed for that matter, bustle too close by. Steps down to the beach from a well defined path. An old derelict building at one end of the beach gives it a mysterious feel. Lovely views across the water to Paignton and Torquay.

Sweet little cove hidden away from the main beaches. Perfect rest stop if you're doing the coastal path (one of my favourite walks to do)

Great little spot, easy to get too and dog friendly. If you follow the path on the opposite end of the cove the walk which is through woodland (beautiful) takes you to Brixham, about 30/40 min walk with a cafe on the next cove 😊

Livermead Sands is a nice, accessible beach that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. The sand is red and covers most of the beach at high tide, but it's still enjoyable to hang out on during low tide.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Livermead Sands! The stunning views of the coastline are breathtaking, and the beach is clean and beautifully maintained. The atmosphere is peaceful, making it perfect for a relaxing day out. The area is easily accessible with ample parking and great facilities nearby. Whether you're enjoying a sunny beach day or a scenic stroll, Livermead Sands offers an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a perfect seaside escape!

Lovely beach adjoining Corbyn Head which is quieter than the main tourist ones, with a central section designated for water-skiing. The beach is not accessible at high tide, nor suitable for people with disabilities, but otherwise a picturesque setting with rock pools to explore at Institute Beach end. Recommended to visit at low tide if enjoy a quieter beach setting.
Michael B — Google review
Great beach with incredible views of Torbay and the many cruise liners currently moored there. There are a few steps with a handrail down to the beach, but no disabled access. The sand is completely covered by the sea at high tide, so check your tide table before visiting.

Livermead Sands is a narrow strip of typical coarse red Devon sand set below the main seafront road between Torquay and Preston. The central section of the beach has an area specifically designated for water-skiing. Swimming in this part of the beach is not allowed. There isn’t anything in the way of facilities at Livermead but it isn’t a long walk round to neighbouring Corbyn beach which does have good amenities.

Livermead Sands beach is a long stretch of red sand parallel to the main seafront road between Torquay and Paignton. There is a designated water-skiing area here and the beach is largely used by water-sports enthusiasts during the summer months. The beach is made up from sand, shingle and rocks. At low tide it’s possible to rock hop around the rocks from Corbyn Head beach and Institute Beach, but beware of the incoming tide and don’t get cut off. At high tide the beach completely disappears. There isn’t anything in the way of facilities at Livermead but it isn’t a long walk round to neighbouring Corbyn beach which does have good amenities. There is a life buoy and dogs are allowed on the beach all year round.

Tucked away in a quiet north-facing cove, this small beach features red sandstone cliffs and a mix of sand and shingle sections. Accessible only via steep steps behind the Livermead Cliff Hotel, it's not suitable for those with mobility issues or families with toddlers. The beach offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling Torquay and Paignton areas.

With the recent heavy tonnage landslide, (I thought it was thunder - a large empty lorry travelling over a very rough road), this is an area to avoid as the Sedimentary Rock Cliffs are constantly eroding, can collapse in an instant with no notice + they would never find you beneath the hundreds of tonnes of solid rock, a Human Dinosaur....." Oddicombe Beach in Torquay is a popular year-round destination with a Blue Flag award for 33 years. Visitors can take the Babbacombe Cliff Railway down to the shingle beach, where they can find deck-chair hire, a traditional beach shop, and the Three Degrees Bar and Bistro. The beach offers activities such as paddling for kids and water sports.
Probably the best spot in the Bay! Beautiful, tranquil, full of amazing wildlife, popular for sea swimmers, sailing, kayaking, sheltered, good amenities and lovely cafe/ restaurant, shop for nik naks/ inflatables, accessible via unique cliff railway. Kayaking, peddlo and other watersports hire available in summer, good service, pretty reasonable rates to. No parking in summer but generally find a spot in winter. Beautiful walk down if you're able, but it's steep, either via steps adjacent to the cliff railway or a single lane road that winds its way down. Beach is Mix of pebbles and sand, beach shoes advised for comfort if on a beach day out with the kids. There are steps at top of beach to sit on if preferred. Even has a museum down there. Its a great beach, just a very special place

Today, I hiked down to Oddicombe Beach in Torbay - and it was absolutely stunning. The trail winds its way through lush greenery, with occasional openings that reveal sweeping views of the sparkling English Channel below. As you descend, the air grows fresher and saltier, and you can hear the faint crash of waves calling you closer. The path itself is a mix of gentle slopes and steeper sections, but every step is worth it for the incredible coastal scenery. When you finally reach the beach, you're greeted by dramatic red cliffs towering above soft pebbles and turquoise waters - a hidden gem that feels like a little slice of paradise

Very clean beach with great views. Plenty of areas to sit including the rental of deck chairs and lounger chairs great day out. One thing to be aware of is that dogs are allowed on the cliff train all year round but not allowed on the beach all year round

Great beach with kids as it’s pretty much enclosed both sides so they can’t wander too far. Steep roads and paths to get down but a cliff railway (chargeable) is available, just don’t miss the last one back! No real parking and wardens are on the look out, I even saw them ticket someone for letting a disabled lady out of a vehicle at the bottom. Lovely, but pricy, cafe on the beach for take-away and eat in food & drink
D E — Google review
The location is stunning and there are plenty of facilities the issue is that the beach itself isn't sand it more like gravel which isn't easy under your feet. The other problem is there is a bit of plastic in the water although the the beach is spotless. There are toliets put they cost you 30 pence per person and it's contactless payment only. Which normal isn't a problem if the are well kept, but they are a bit of a mess.
Paul O — Google review
The scenery is really pretty. It’s a steep walk down the mountain to the beach itself and I walked with boots on and my laptop in my bag and was breathing like a hyperventilating whale but all worth it in the end :)
Magdellah L — Google review
A beautiful beach it must be said. Lovely deep red sand with elegant pebbles. There is a cafe too and even a cliff top railway museum. Over the last ten years, the beach has suffered rock falls which have blocked off part of the beach- especially when the tide was in. It is dog friendly. I spent a lovely afternoon with my son throwing stones into the sea.

Babbacombe Beach, located in the northern part of Torquay, Devon, was once notorious for piracy and smuggling. Today, it is celebrated for its tranquil fishing spots and sandy shores perfect for building sandcastles. The beach offers a secluded escape from the main tourist areas while still being close to welcoming pubs, cafes, and shops.
Absolutely love coming here. Stunning views, lots of walks, a great beach (though pebbles, not much sand) There’s a lovely walk down, from the toilets through the trees. Or the walk from the Cary arms along the coast. The cliff train is brilliant for getting back up. The toilets are clean (50p a visit) and the cafe is decent ( but pricey) Parking is fine, but harder the later in the day you arrive. But there is other car parks a little walk away.

Nestled in a charming cove, Maidencombe Beach is a delightful sandy and rocky retreat just 15 minutes from Torquay by car. This picturesque spot boasts stunning views of the rugged Torbay coastline and is surrounded by striking red sandstone cliffs. At low tide, families can explore numerous rock pools, making it an ideal destination for children to play and discover marine life. Accessed via steep steps from a small pay-and-display car park or conveniently reached by the no.
Beautiful and secluded, tranquil sea perfect for a swim. Some stairs need to be taken down and up from the parking lot. In the summer season there is a cafe overlooking the beach. They rent paddle boards too.
Jeroen S — Google review
Really love this beach off season. It can be quite dramatic when the sea is rough. Not suitable for everyone, due to the many steps leading down to it. It has a cafe at the beach, and a wonderful pub serving great food within walking distance
K C — Google review
Beautiful beach, but very small and a bit of a trek. When the tide is in there is very little space and most people were on the rocks, concreted area and at the cafe. Not a lot of shade, so would recommend bringing your own. The parking only takes coins. You can exchange at the cafe by the beach. You can also get cash back at the pub, but it doesn’t open until midday.

Is a lovely beach hide away. Beautiful walk down there as you can see from my picture but I think is more for adult or teens not for kids! Excellent for kayaking or paddle board. Is a nice caffe there and you can hire staff for the water. Very little car park on the top so you must arrive early.
Bernadett A — Google review
Lovely beach but a steep walk down from the carpark. Lots of steps down to the beach. Quite small, but wasn't busy. Very secluded. Lots of rocks and beautiful views. Water very clear. Sand had small pebbles but otherwise quite soft. Really nice and relaxing. No facilities open. Didn't have to pay in carpark.
Lizzie C — Google review
A quiet secluded beach just off the Torquay to Teignmouth coast road, can be accessed off the main road via Steep Hill which goes directly downhill to the beach car park but you must come back uphil via Brim Hill, both routes are well signposted. There is a council car park with a car height restriction at the entrance and it is pay and display. Once parked up the path leads to a flight of stairs which go down to the beach so there is no access for wheelchairs. The cafe and public toilets are closed due to covid19 but you can still access the beach with a mini waterfall, beware of rockfall on beach which offers gorgeous views out to sea and the Dorset coast on the horizon.

Cute little cove, did some rockpooling and sat listening to the sea. Not a huge cove and no sand, but can walk round the corner to more coves and goodrington beach. Great for dogs and a quieter cove for the area! Steep stairs down, from the coastal path. Would be quite small when the tide is in but still a good place to sit
Ailsa — Google review
Lovely secluded cove, steap steps, inaccessible by pushchair, some rock falls but worth a visit to see the clear still waters. Worth seeing the steam railway train pass under the bridge at the top too!
Anna C — Google review
Beautiful little tucked away cove. Dogs allowed!! Parking may occasionally be a little difficult to find because it's on a residential street (no designated car park) but is often pretty empty, and free, of course! Once parked, taking the little alleyway between two bungalows leads onto the SW Coastal path, then further, across a quaint railway bridge which spans the Paignton - Kingswear heritage railway. It then opens out onto a sloped headland which is brilliant for dogs, and has benches to rest on with beautiful views of Torbay, as well as information boards with notes about the geology of the area and what it would've been like hundreds of millions of years ago! Beyond the headland, down the slope, is a railed stairway leading to the cove. The stairs are somewhat steep but do provide some grip, so slipping is less of a concern, especially in dry seasons. Once in the cove, which is very sheltered, a little beach leading up to steep cliffs meets the gently lapping waves with rock pools and when the tide is out, access to the coves either side around the cliffs.

What a gem Anstey's Cove is! This little haven boasts a fantastic cafe serving delicious food and coffee, plus the welcome addition of clean toilet facilities and plenty of seating. But the real star of the show is the beautiful cove itself, with its invitingly crystal clear water and captivating rock pools. I can just imagine children having an absolute blast here, paddling in the clear water and becoming intrepid explorers amongst the rocks! We also took the opportunity to walk a section of the South West Coast Path from Anstey's Cove back to Torquay, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The scenery was utterly breathtaking, with truly spectacular vistas, similar to the stunning view I've included below.

Absolutely stunning location. They call it the English riviera and now I see why. There is a car park just up the hill with a short walk down to the crystal clean water. Lovely say out in the sun watching the world go by at this location.

Nestled along the stunning coastline of Paignton, Saltern Cove is a hidden treasure that promises an escape into nature. This Site of Special Scientific Interest boasts dramatic cliffs, golden sands, and inviting crystal-clear waters perfect for exploration. While access involves a bit of a trek down winding steps via the Coastal Path, the reward is well worth it—especially when you discover its enchanting rock pools at low tide!
Beautiful hidden gem of a beach. Dog friendly too!!

A fantastic walk, not many people ventured there on that cold, cold day. Perfection

Access is via the steam train bridge and you can easily access Oyster and Saltern Coves via steps. The steps down to Saltern Cove can be slippery and are steep. The beach is mostly rock with some sand. When tide is low you can scramble over the rock but it is extremely slippery so please be careful! A very peaceful location with great fishing spots at high and low tide.

Had a great time at The Harbour Inn tonight, and had the bread and olives which were out of this world! Amazing work from our server Elvy, who was very welcoming and we didn’t spot him without a smile on his face. He made our time at The Harbour Inn! Thanks Elvy!

Nice pub with great views over the harbour. Stopped for lunch & sat on roof terrace which had a great view. Interior is roomy & well-decorated, staff all really friendly & chatty. Food & drinks priced how you'd expect for a touristy spot. Food was good, fish & chips is a hearty portion, burger little smaller, kids portions also decent, £48 for three meals & drinks. Would come again.

This charming gastropub perfectly blends cozy vibes with a lively atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a casual gathering. The food is satisfying, offering a variety of well-prepared dishes that pair beautifully with the relaxed setting. Reply the response that: Hi! Thank you for your message. I mentioned that the food was satisfying because everything was well-prepared and nicely presented. However, in terms of taste, my friends and I personally felt it didn’t quite match our preferences, so I didn't comment on that part directly. Taste is so personal — what doesn’t impress some might still be perfect for others. I do appreciate the effort and atmosphere, and I wish you all the best!

My family and I had a poor experience from start to finish. There was no warm welcome and the bar/waiting staff were so uninterested. We waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive when it wasn't busy, and it was a huge disappointment. One meal was cold, the pizza's were hard and overcooked, one was even missing the goats cheese. The burger bun on the children's burger was burnt and to top it all off we were missing a childs meal. My husband mentioned this to the waitress who said she'd go and find out where it is. She never came back. So our 3 year old sat there with no food. We gave up waiting and she ate pieces from everyone else so luckily didn’t go hungry. Whether it was missed off the order or missed when being made we should have been informed and either added on or brought out. Not completely ignored. This was by far the worst service I have ever experienced in any establishment, ever.
Lucy S — Google review
Having read the reviews I was hopeful of a nice meal. And this place did not disappoint. Staff were friendly. We had a roast. I had pork which was cooked perfectly and even came with a little bit of crackling - bonus. Hubby had the trio of meats. Food was hot and really well flavoured. Would give a 9/10 only because I like my Yorkshire pudding to be a bit chewy. Harbour Inn's were really light and crunchy but not to my liking. The place was busy but felt airy, tidy and clean. Looks like a place people still love to visit - Not like some the places around paignton. Would recommend a visit for sure.
Lisa M — Google review
We came in to try their bottomless brunch whilst visiting over the weekend. Brunch is limited to one type of drink only for you 2 hour stay with the option to upgrade for an additional £4 which one of us did. The whole table must be doing the brunch. It was advised to choose one each that we liked, so we had the ability to swap amongst the table. Staff were very friendly and attentive, quick to bring our drinks once we had finished them. They very kindly swapped out the food on the brunch menu for a salad on request- which was really enjoyable. The only downside we experienced was that our table was fairly sticky, but once the drinks were poured, it was little more than an afterthought. Though with the great service the staff provided, if we had mentioned this to them, they would have resolved it. Thank you to the team for the lovely visit!

Nestled in a beautiful rocky corner with stunning views across the bay, this cafe offers efficient and friendly service along with delicious snacks and ice cream. Visitors rave about the crispy chips, perfect coffee, and generous portion sizes at reasonable prices.
This must be my most favourite cafe in torbay. It's sufficienty off the road to be able to hear the gently lapping sea, in this beautiful rocky corner beach with fabulous views across the bay. There's still sand exposed when the tide is well in at the Torquay end of the beach. Friendly efficient service with ice cream and snacks. I had egg and chips and the chips were lovely and crispy. Coffee was perfect and the service fast too. Highly recommended.

This is a lovely place we come to regularly. It maintains it's seaside atmosphere by being so close to the sea. Has lovely cake and yes it's cash only but we need cash or how can we give to some without. Come and enjoy and thank you.

What a cretin the guy who served us was. On the way to down to the beach we spent 20 pound when we came back up 2hours later we needed to sit on a seat whilst my wife breast fed and we put our shoes on. We were even contemplating buying some food because the food is a fair price . Five minutes after sitting down the server in his 50s/60s that looked like he needed a good wash came out with an attitude approaching my.wofe as she vreast fed trying to move us on. There wast a queue and people wasn't waiting for seats. We were literally the only ones there. Absolute idiot. Needs to get a life and maybe get out of torquay once in a while

One morning I thought I would make the most of the weather and spend an hour or so working from a cafe at the beach. The cafe only excepts cash so I asked the gentleman running the cafe where I would find a cash point as I would be happy to grab cash and come back. He was pretty huffy as he provided directions, I didn't read much into this as I figured he probably gets asked all the time. I let him know that I would be back and was hoping to buy a few drinks and crack on with a little work. Unfortunately I was unable to as I was told that laptops are not allowed at the cafe because they "take up space" and "encroach upon other people". They had no other customers.

Watcombe Beach is a secluded and less crowded beach located near St. Marychurch in Torquay, Devon. It can be easily accessed by walking along the South West coast path from Petitor Road. The beach is surrounded by steep wooded hillsides, creating a serene amphitheater-like setting. Although technically closed due to subsidence, visitors can still access the beach via the coast path. While there are no facilities available, this contributes to its peaceful and quiet atmosphere.
“A beautiful hike with amazing views, though not ideal for families with young kids. We made it halfway and enjoyed it a lot.”
Daniel G — Google review
It's a stunning little cove tucked away from the busy tourist spots-absolutely worth the walk down through the woodland trail. The views are beautiful, the red sand gives it a unique charm, and it's usually quiet and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing day out. Great for swimming on a calm day, and the surrounding cliffs make it feel like your own private retreat. Just be aware the path down is a bit steep, so good shoes are a must. Definitely one of Torbay's best-kept secrets

One of, if not THE, most beautiful beaches I have visited in England. We were fortunate enough to have a pair of seals come right into the cove too, awesome for nature watching! Note: there is a sizable hill to walk in order to get down to this beach - not super accessible.
Lily P — Google review
Gorgeous, beautiful and picturesque beach but a very very steep walk down. We parked in the carpark nearby, however when we got to the gates a sign said 'beach closed'. We carried on walking down as there were other cars in the carpark. However, it was a very steep walk down and the road/path was very uneven and had eroded away. Once we were down there the beach was beautiful. Clear water, lots of rocks and pebbly beach. No facilities - lots of rubbish dumped near the closed cafe on the way back up - very unsightly! But the beach was very peaceful and tranquil. The walk back up was very steep and tiring.
Lizzie C — Google review
Walked from Babbacombe to here along the South West Coastal Path. Took about 40mins. Beautiful views of the stunning coast long the way. Beach is officially closed. A lovely gentle walk not too difficult in dry conditions. There are a few difficult sections along the SW Coast Path. When you join the steep road to the beach at the half way point, you will find closed up toilets and a beach that is closed for safety reasons. You can access the beach, as some people were, however, this would be at your own risk. The final descent to the beach area is very tricky with steps and broken pathways due to earth movements. Worth a visit to admire the view and for a lovely quiet place to paddle and relax BUT...... Remember that it is clearly closed for a reason

Decided to visit Inspirations for a luxury manicure. Managed to park and find the Salon area easily. Olivia who started training in September was lovely. Although both of us were nervous I was made to feel at ease, with understanding each aspect of the treatment, resulting in lovely soft skin and beautiful nails. My mum also had a manicure with another young lady, but having lost her handbag it set the appointment on a back foot. Handbag handed into reception and a lovely hand massage, mum was relaxed. Sadly even 2 hours after the appointment her nail polish was smearing and smudging, so did not last (?) Overall a nice experience that I would recommend to others. Thank you Olivia and good luck with the training.

Attended here for my alevels from 2018-2020, teachers were supportive, friendly, and approachable. I dealt with becoming disabled whilst attending this college and got great support and understanding from all of my teachers, especially Luke Peakman (biology teacher) who encouraged me throughout the ups and downs of my chronic illness at college. Teachers understood when I wasn't able to attend lectures due to my illness and never gave up on me despite struggling with course content at multiple points. Overall an extremely positive experience. The pastoral care was great with a counsellor I could speak to at any time (and who I actually felt comfortable speaking to, which is amazing!). Wish I could let each teacher know just how much they helped me.

Knowing at least 3 students with special needs including Autism, Dyslexia and ADHD. The college have no idea how to deal with these challenges and fail to understand the problems these students face. I know of students being sent home as the tutors refuse to teach these members and they get no support from senior staff who back their poor junior staff without investigating issues that may occur. I would definitely never send my child to this out of date and poorly run establishment

Super steep and there's currently a lot of unhoused people on the steps which make it a bit difficult to navigate. Small park offering good views of the bay and Torquay's seafront. There are a few benches where you can sit, and a boarded up pavilion in the centre where a couple of portaloos have been placed. There is also a small memorial to servicemen (Home Guard) who died at Corbyn Head from enemy bombs during WW2.

This peaceful little park, just a short walk from Abbey Park and Meadow, was the perfect place for my morning stroll! It sits on a promontory above a cave in a red sandstone cliff, clearly visible from the prom. The park can be accessed by way of either a path or steps from the main coast road. There's lots of grassy space with seating, wonderful views down into Torquay and along the coast, and a WW2 memorial erected in memory of six local Home Guard volunteers who died tragically when an artillery gun exploded during a training exercise. There are toilets in the park, and also a slipway leading down to a small beach with beach huts and a café.

I’m very happy to recommend Andy, a fantastic painter who recently painted the exterior of my bungalow – and did an absolutely brilliant job. From the outset, Andy was professional, friendly, and clearly passionate about his work. He used high-quality Dulux Trade paint throughout, and the finish is flawless – clean, even. My bungalow now looks completely refreshed, with a crisp, tidy appearance that’s had compliments from neighbours already. He handled every part of the job himself, with help from his nephew, from careful prep work to the final touches, and took real pride in making sure everything was done to a high standard. He was also respectful, tidy, and a pleasure to have around – turning up on time each day and leaving everything neat when he finished. It’s rare to find someone so reliable, skilled, and easy to work with. If you’re looking for someone you can trust to do an excellent job, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Andy.

Fantastic service provided by Andy. He painted the exterior of my property. He was friendly, hardworking and conscientious during the 5 days it took him. Highly recommended and will definitely use him again. Many thanks Andy for the great job done.

Andy offers great service with a high attention to detail and quality. Andy is exceptionally reliable and trustworthy. Andy decorated my lounge dining area in March 25 and he has helped us transform our home. Highly recommended

PaintOn Decorators painted the front of my flat to a high standard. Andy is reliable, hard-working and reasonably priced. He communicated very well too throughout some delays with the scaffolders.

Thanks Andy, the house looks really nice. Once again, an excellent job, from your prep work to the actual painting, and everything left clean and tidy when you finished.

Andy is lovely but because he's so good booked up for next 12 months

Redgate Beach, located between Long Quarry and Ansteys Cove in Torbay, is a stunning coastal gem that many consider to be one of the finest beaches in the area. Although officially closed due to the risk of cliff collapse, access is still possible from Walls Hill or Ansteys Cove. The beach offers breathtaking views, clear waters ideal for diving and swimming, and opportunities for climbing.
Beautiful views, clear water, perfect for diving, swimming and climbing

Officially the beach is closed due to dangers of cliff collapse, but this still does not prevent access to the beach. If you're on Walls Hill (the big meadows on the top) you can hop over the fence and go down the stair path - recently the vegetation has been cut down so it's easier to traverse. If you're on Anstey's Cove side, you can easily get to it as there is few large stairs and few rocks that you must go over. Overall the beach is peaceful and not many people bother going there, some days you may be the only one on the beach. This could be your own "Private beach".

"REDGATE BEACH" Do not stand and weep, I am not there and do not sleep. I am the thousand winds that blow and the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on the ripened grain and the gentle autumnal rain, Of quiet birds in circling flight and of the soft stars that shine in the night.......................I am everywhere.......Some species of "MIGRATORY BIRDS" fly at night, usually until 02:00hrs, using 'STAR GROUPS" close to the 'NORTH STAR' to guide them. You might see them whilst observing "THE MOON"......" CONSTELLATION ORION" can be seen quite easily, over the sea, known to ancient civilisations, with the its 'top star' being "BETELGEUSE", a 'red supergiant star which is '800' times larger than 'our Sun', or '427 light years away', or millions and millions of our Earth miles........Speed of light = from the west coast of America to the east coast of America and back, " 38 TIMES in ONE SECOND"......" REDGATE BEACH".....

Fishcombe Cove is a serene and secluded spot with a small summer cafe that occasionally hosts evening events. The cove offers ideal opportunities for seal-spotting, making it a great place for nature enthusiasts. While the beach is lovely, accessing the sea can be challenging due to rocky terrain. However, visitors can enjoy woodland walks via steps leading from the cove. The area is perfect for dog walking and provides tranquility away from the crowds.
Lovely quiet beach for a walk with the dogs and great for dogs who need to be on a longline as there wasn't anyone else there at the time. It's quite a steep hill so wouldn't suggest for anyone with mobility issues but it's lovely as it also has steps that lead up to other more woodland type walks. 🐶🐶

Lovely small pebble cove with a cafe and only a short easy walk from Brixham. Steps down from that side are steep so tricky for anyone not so mobile but manageable with patience. Good mooring spot too, with mooring floats to protect the sea grass. Not busy.

Lovely quiet cove quite a few steps to get there back up quite steep!! Fabulous beach cafe owner really friendly, great coffee and bacon bap. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that it is really rocky getting into sea...even with dive shoes it was virtually impossible not to fall over my husband had a good laugh at my attempt!

Gorgeous little bay hidden away. Great little coastal trek to get there from Brixham. Lovely place for a dip. Dog friendly. It’s hard to believe this is in England.

Nestled between the stunning Berry Head Nature Reserve and the breakwater, Shoalstone Beach is a charming shingle and rocky haven in Brixham. This delightful spot is perfect for families, offering an opportunity to explore fascinating rock pools teeming with marine life at low tide. Adjacent to the beach is the historic Shoalstone Pool, a saltwater swimming pool that has welcomed visitors since 1896.
Great beach with cafe and bar but no dogs allowed on beach during summer unlike the Google description.

Parking grounds
Goodrington Sands Car Park is conveniently located near Goodrington Park, a lovely green space that offers a refreshing escape from the beach. The park features a picturesque boating lake where visitors can rent bumper boats and pedal boats shaped like swans. Interestingly, this body of water has historical significance, as it dates back to medieval times when it was part of marshlands and was rumored to be bottomless. It's a great spot for some leisurely outdoor activities amidst natural beauty.
