The eatery is known for its unique dining experience, focusing on locally sourced produce and fresh fish due to its coastal location. Food was great. Went here twice when we were down for a long weekend. The muscles were a generous portion and very big and tasty. Only had seafood here and it was all good. If you are there in peak season I would recommend making a booking

Pricey but lovely for a treat. I had lovely veg lasagne with v good chips, salad. Of particular note was the treacle tart with a generous amount of clotted cream which was very yummy indeed!
Wendy S — Google review
The food was amazing!! The mussels were so delicious, the chips were the best, and the food was extremely tasty!! Would definitely come again.👌🏼👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Athena W — Google review
It is well placed close to the Cobb and has lots of seating. Quite a good atmosphere during the day. Three of us eat there all having the same, two thought the fish and chips were ok, one was disappointed. Not much of an exaggeration to say that one of the fish portions was more batter than fish. The chips were not the best we have eaten. For the price we expected better but I guess you are paying for the location. However, the staff were really helpful and friendly.

Absolutely amazing! I didn’t expect much from a sea side inn but we were blown away! Especially having eaten somewhere quite posh the day before which didn’t live up to its reviews- we couldn’t believe the skill of the chef! Never tasted anything like it! We had the catch of the day- gurnard which was so beautifully presented and exquisite flavours with leek and bacon fricasse and pea croquette with shoe string fries- wow! The chocolate pudding was delicious too! So lovely to be by the sea with that atmosphere! morris dancing outside, dog welcome and fast service. Couldn’t speak more highly of the place. Will definitely recommend to friends and return some day! Thanks for a lovely evening! Stunning local art on the walls too!

Really delicious lunch. Perfect table, as suited the special request that I made on booking. Lovely atmosphere. The only issue that I found was that after we were seated and were given the Menu’s, we were left for 20minutes without any service at all. During those 20minutes - 2 tables were served their desserts and we saw no-one at the area of the restaurant until 20minutes had passed and I summonsed a waitress to serve us with some drinks and our choice of meal - just incase we had to wait another 20mins before they returned. This was redeemed by the beautiful lunch. But ruined the initial impression of our visit.
Kerrie B — Google review
Enjoyed the superb food served up by the kitchen today. Amazing quality and taste, Sadly let down by a poor performance by the front of house team. Not a smile between them and almost felt we were an inconvenience. Hopefully the kitchen get to share the tip and maybe brought a glimmer of a smile to the front of house team. The food was hot and delicious - just what we needed.
Ivor B — Google review
Lovely meal - Portions were large and would recommend sharing the garlic bread or mussel starters. Steak was well cooked but without any vegetables. Fish pie great ratio of potato to filling. Scallop and prawn fish cakes special lovely. Dog friendly in the bar. Would recommend booking a table

Located in the popular seaside town of Lyme Regis, The Pilot Boat is a historic Grade II listed building that has been beautifully renovated into a trendy destination bar and restaurant. With fabulous sea views and a roof terrace, this establishment also offers three boutique bedrooms for accommodation. The pub serves a variety of quality home-cooked food throughout the day, making it convenient for visitors. Additionally, it provides vegan-friendly options on its menu, catering to different dietary preferences.
We stayed for 3 nights in the deluxe king room with the sea view. We had a very warm welcome on arrival, and the gent kindly carried our suitcases up to our room. I knew the room was going to be nice from looking at pictures, but it absolutely blew us away when we saw the view out the window. The room is decorated so beautifully and had everything we needed and more. The bed is so comfortable! Breakfast was also delicious and staff are very friendly and helpful. I thought there would possibly be noise at night due to the rooms being above the pub and next to the terrace, but there was no noise at all! Due to where the pub is situated, absolutely everything is a matter of minutes walk, we did not drive anywhere during our stay. We will definitely be returning, thank you pilot boat for a faultless stay.

We stopped here for a lunch and were very happy with our choice. The service was great, fast and with a smile. The food was delicious (we had a pizza and calamari with Greek potatoes) and it arrived very quickly. The interior is also lovely and just across the road from the museum which was perfect for us.
Zuzana R — Google review
Popped down the Lyme Regis, and thought I'd try here. The place is lovely, it's just across the road from the sea front, the food was nice, but a bit on the pricey side, and there isn't a huge selection on the menu, and not much for vegetarians. The staff were nice and welcoming. They are dog friendly but only in the first part of the building, so at busier times/high season this could prove problematic as there aren't many low tables. I would visit here again even if it's just for a drink.
Catherine S — Google review
Fantastic meal yesterday. We were struggling as a party of 13 of us to find somewhere on a busy Sunday. From a chef and catering business owner I have to say that the food was fabulous. Didn’t wait too long, and everyone’s dishes were of great quality. My steak was so well seasoned.
Chazyboy97 — Google review
Came here for a roast and had high hopes but was disappointed. The roast came and we got 3 minuscule roast potatoes, would be okay if they were big ones but they were tiny. The pork looked like lunch meat and was very thin and fatty. The vegetables were nice and cooked to perfection as were the parsnips. The Yorkshire pudding was burnt. There really wasn’t much on your plate considering the price. So don’t go if you are hungry.
Ells — Google review
Misleading from the outside! Beautiful restaurant area inside and a good menu to choose from including daily specials. Menu much larger than that advertised by the main access door, so don't be put off!! Really pleased with our meals - table of four, two of which had three courses. Far exceeded our expectations and can highly recommend.

Food was amazing, service was superb. You can't go wrong picking this restaurant to eat. We even had a baby in a highchair who was well looked after.

The fish and chips I had last night were the best I’ve had anywhere; absolutely perfect. I gather the batter is tempura. Whatever it is, it’s superb.

The Oyster & Fish House is a trendy seafood restaurant with stunning views over the harbor. Located above Lyme Regis famous Cobb, it offers panoramic views across the Jurassic Coast. Run by renowned chef Mark Hix, who prioritizes local and seasonal ingredients, the restaurant focuses on simple yet high-class dishes.
If you are a seafood lover, and love a foodie experience that you won’t get anywhere else, and you want to spoil yourself, then this is the place to be! Even if you’re not staying in Lyme Regis, it really is worth a drive to dine here. Having grown up on the coast, I’ve eaten a lot of seafood, and thought I’d had most versions of it, however, my mind was genuinely blown away by the beautifully delicious, but novel twists on food I thought I knew!! Cockle popcorn, scrumpy fried oyster with scotch bonnet mayonnaise, 6 oysters with ponzu to die for, and a whole grilled mackerel with gremolata! I shall never forget these dishes! Desert was also amazing, with the finest pastry I’ve ever tasted. Front of house legend, Phoebe, was as much part of the experience, and her knowledge of all of the dishes was as impressive as her manner, and efficiency. It was an all-round wonderful experience that we’ll do again as soon as we can!!

Great views. Attentive staff. Good food. Fair to expensive on pricing. My 3rd visit over the years. Place and decor is now looking tired. Very sticky tables. Easily resolved with some linen table cloths. Smoke from kitchen irritated my partner's eyes. Unlikely to return.

We held our wedding reception at the Oyster and Fish House on 27/04/24 and we cannot thank everyone in the team enough for helping to make our wedding day so special. The service from the moment we booked was great, Jo and Nic were very responsive to any of our questions and helped to plan and prep our day by meeting with us several times beforehand to ensure everything was planned the way we had imagined. In addition we had a meeting with Mark Hix where he helped to design a bespoke menu. Thank you so much Mark, the menu was incredible! On the wedding morning the staff were incredibly helpful and set the tables and decorations up for us. Everything was laid out perfectly on arrival and all the guests were greeted warmly with champagne and gorgeous canapes. The staff were fantastic and brilliant hosts, chatting with all our guests and ensuring everyone's glasses were topped up as needed. We also want to thank the chefs, the food was exceptional, plentiful and beautifully presented. We could not finish it all despite our best efforts! It really was a day to remember, and our wedding felt unique and special to us. We had 38 guests in total, the size of the restaurant was perfect for providing an intimate setting. The beautiful view of the coast and Cobb is also a bonus. Before our wedding we had eaten at the Oyster and Fish House several times, and on each occasion the food and service were faultless, we will definitely be back. We would like to say thank you again to everyone at the Oyster and Fish House! Hannah and Ben

A fantastic meal. The seafood was extremely fresh and everything was made with great care and attention to detail. It’s the first time we’ve had cockles popcorn and it was delicious - especially with vinegar drizzled on top. The mussels were divine and the prawn burger was very filling and packed with prawn. The scrumpy (fried oyster) was very well made - considering how wet oysters can get, it was impressive that they came out so crispy. The team was attentive and the place has a lovely view. Very glad we found this place during our visit and managed to book a table.
Charles B — Google review
Absolutely lovely evening with a fantastic view over Lyme Regis and the port. The food, although we only went for starter and oysters, was absolutely delicious and fresh as they come. The staff were, attentive, friendly and just amazing. Yes, as a few others have commented it is a pricier than usual restaurant but it’s worth it for a special evening.
Kenneth L — Google review
The setting and building is absolutely gorgeous, but the servers and food make this spot a must. Freya was accommodating to our large party with 2 toddlers and made us feel like we were eating at a friends home. Her welcoming spirit and overall passion for the menu made for the best experience. I was so satisfied with the miso fruto , hake, monkfish pie and the soda bread is to die for . Will definitely be back!
Lynsi W — Google review
Great staff, food was great. Reason for only 3 stars is that they gave us not the nicest table in the house as there were a couple of larger tables which made a lot of noise and we sat right next to it. So no option anymore to dine in peace or talk to each other. They should consider this better in the future or let guests know in advance. We managed to get a table outside, but also there was a larger table. Put in middle of 3x tables with couples. Maybe logistically organise this better so all have a good time.
Marieke — Google review
A fantastic seafood restaurant perched on the hillside overlooking the Cob in Lyme Regis. We had a wonderful meal soaking in the relaxed atmosphere, while watching holiday makers enjoying the last of the sun down on the beach. Amazingly fresh crab, so large my dining partner had to help me finish it. I would recommend the popcorn cockles and the two different types of oysters, both delicious, and distinctly different. The service was excellent, and the staff very knowledgeable about the dishes on offer. Our waitress did a wonderful job persuading us to try both types of oysters, a decision we did not regret. We finished the evening with a walk down to the harbour, to find a pub for a drink before heading home. People were still on the beach at 9pm as the weather was so hot. A word of caution if you're not staying in Lyme Regis. There are only a few taxis available in the town, having arrived by bus from our base, we were looking at a long walk home along unlit country lanes. Luckily one the chefs at the Cob arms heard our predicament and as he lived in the village were we were based kindly offered us a lift home when his girlfriend picked him up at the end of his shift. An immense stroke of luck to end a fantastic evening out. Highly recommended and we are planning to try the London branch at some point.

The Cobb Arms is a charming vintage-style family-run pub located opposite a harbor. The warm rooms and free English breakfast make for a cozy stay. Guests can take leisurely walks along the South West Coast Path or explore the gardens, with the option to stroll along The Cobb. Additionally, visitors can indulge in fresh lobster at the nearby smokehouse recommended by chef Scott Smith. For those interested in Indian cuisine, there are options available within close proximity to The Cobb Arms.
Popped in on Friday 15th Aug hoping to get some food without a booking, the staff were very friendly and got us a table for two. We had an absolutely FANTASTIC meal, 2 pies with all the trimmings, all hot, fresh and beautiful quality. Well done all involved, the friendly staff and the kitchen crew, keep producing these kind of meals and we'll keep coming back..............many thanks :)

Took my mum down to Lyme Regis as it's her favourite local seaside . Stopped at the Cobb for lunch with no great expectations but hey it was very nice , friendly staff we had scampi and chips and Hake and chips both nicely served up at our table food looked good and tasted even better well above seaside pub fare the white wine a Marlborough was also good served at the right temperature in a decent glass, and finally to top it off the coffee was also good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars not 5 is the complete lack of views from inside the pub , I believe you can see out of two of the window on the sea side. Good job worth a visit

I spent a week in lyme Regis for my 50th last week and visited the Cobb, twice for food and my last night for a drink... I cant praise the staff enough, especially lisa. Lisa I thank you very much, helpful, bubbly and a good sense of humour, I'm sad I missed you my last night. As for the food, it was amazing, the mashed potato especially. I will be telling all my family to visit The Cobb if they are ever near, I will come back again on my next holiday Thank you all

i need to share the horrid experience I just had. we are at the end of our holiday and I thought it would be nice to go to the Cobb Arms to celebrate a lovely holiday. every table in the pub was dirty. we chose a table that I then proceeded to spend 5 minutes removing all the glasses from and then cleaning. following this, we ordered drinks. about 5 minutes thereafter, who I assume was the manager, started saying to the staff we need to get the reserve signs on the table or we are going to be in trouble. Part way through a private conversation as a family we were then interrupted to say that the table had been reserved for 20 minutes time and could we move to another table. all politely but obviously this is quite annoying but we agreed to leave the pub for 20 minutes time (we had been planning to spend quite alot on drinks but obviously we just felt in the way). between us, once the staff member had walked away, I expressed my frustrations to my husband, to which the member of staff over heard and rolled his eyes back at us and argumentatively says that he asked politely. it is correct that he asked politely but it was clearly with desperation to get rid of us. this is also kind of missing the point entirely that there was no acknowledgement or apology for the inconvenience. I had also politely agreed to move, but this did not then stop the member of staff interrupting a private conversation to start an argument with me., appalling behaviour and should be disciplined for his behaviour. not a friendly place!
Carly R — Google review
The only positive when visiting this pub was the lovely staff. When we arrived there were numerous dirty tables . The table was cleared it wasn’t wiped . Food is obviously frozen. The vegetables were hardly cooked and drenched in strong garlic butter . The fish cakes were not as described. If we were so hungry we would have sent it back. We isn’t our 1st time to this pub but truly disappointed at how run down it has become.
Gilly R — Google review
Pub on the seafront with excellent selection of beers. Food was great and the staff were lovely. Great place to have a chill and a beer in the sun after the beach. Only thing that would improve it is if they had WiFi, hardly a deal breaker!

!! Shoutout to Mike, Ethan and Luke for outsanding and warm service!! Wonderdul time at the Cobb Arms. Its my second time in Lyme Regis, and the Cobb Arms was is gradually becoming a ritual for my first night here. Situated on the harbour, with view of the fishing boats and famous Cobb walk, its the ideal spot for a meal and drink. The Fish Misto starter was perfect for a taste of what seafood Lyme has to offer ✨️👌

(Bar review only). Lovely little drinking hole on the harbour that’s dog friendly. Friendly staff helping an elderly customer in with his mobility scooter. Not 5 stars simply for the cost, never in my Jurassic years have i spent over 6 squid on a pint of the blackstuff, it was good so had 2! Interesting interior decor (pic).

We are regulars and we always love it here. Great seafront location, fantastic menu, good cocktails, friendly staff. Reliably delicious. Would recommend you book in advance but some walk-ins available, you might need to queue in summer months during holidays.

Great food and a great atmosphere. We had a lovely meal for six tonight and the menu was full of fab options. I had some calamari for starters and a burger for mains. The chips were delicious and the portions very generous - I almost wished they offered half sizes! We were sat in one of the back booths but still had an amazing view of the sea, made better by the sliding windows being left open. We could watch the eclipse from the warmth inside! Definitely recommend as there’s something for everyone on the menu and it has a great vibe inside.

When we walked in we got a seat very fast (5ppl) and it looked very busy. Staff are fabulous. The food looked great and let me tell you it was absolutely delicious. This is the type of place I highly recommend for family friends and social gatherings. Even meetings. This place has inside and outside. Space is between tables is great. NOTE: they don't have WiFi The price is a bit dear... however I have no regrets. I'll happily come again and recommend for anyone! Will post a tik tok review later on

Highly recommend this spot — the menu has something for everyone, and the vibe inside is really inviting.

Nice modern chic, restaurant nestled right on the Lyme Regis seafront. It is within a stones throw of the Cob, the famous stone walled harbour. The staff are very friendly and helpful, providing an excellent service. Food orders are completed quickly and the quality and presentation of the food is great. Nearly all the food is sourced locally so zero food miles too. I highly recommended this restaurant it caters for all tastes and ages and includes a children's menu. Dogs on leads are also welcome.

It's known for its unpretentious menu featuring freshly caught seafood and traditional pub grub. As one of Palmers brewery's flagship pubs, it offers a wide selection of well-kept real ales and ciders.
At about £20 a head including drinks this was a lovely spot to eat. Portion sizes were incredible and food arrived quickly and fresh. Staff were very accommodating and environment was lovely. Reminded me of an old pub nice and rustic with lovely music and nice and warm

Fantastic location just steps away from the sandy beach. Welcoming friendly staff who were very accommodating when we messed up on our booking. Ate here one lunchtime, very generous portions, feta rolls were gorgeous. Sandwiches really tasty. Generous portions. We also came back later in the week and ate in the evening. Husband had souvlaki I had the Prawn Saganaki. Both were delicious, again generous portions and very reasonably priced. Greek orange cake delicious too.

Loved it! Really great to find a place where you can have a classic pub meal, or change it up and have Greek food! I had halloumi gyros and it was delicious and HUGE, especially for the price paid. Really friendly staff and amazing value for money. Sad I’m not a local!

No mark for food as we stayed for only one drink before heading back to the car to travel back to Weymouth. I had a beer and my partner and 2 friends had coffee's (cappuccino and 2 latte's). Great clean pub next to a flowing stream and a small stones throw from the beach. Service was great and very helpful. Male toilets were clean and tidy. We sat in the pub garden, there is an small upper area to eat and drink with a great view of the Dorset Jurassic coast.

We went to the Royal Standard a couple of times for lunch and we were not disappointed. The food was of really good quality and plenty of it. All the sandwiches/baguettes were fabulous. If you get to try the pulled pork gyros, you will need a hearty appetite. A great selection of drinks accompany the food. We look forward to our next visit.

We approached the pub from the seafront, having not visited before. Walking into the garden, I honestly thought we were entering a Greek restaurant and was quite surprised to find a quaint, traditional pub inside! Had a lovely impromptu early dinner here! The outdoor seating looks right out over the ocean and catches the evening sun - such a nice spot to relax. I had the bruschetta and scallops, both super tasty and full of flavor. My partner went for the steak and really enjoyed it. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and a solid beer selection too. Great food, great setting, and reasonably priced - definitely a spot worth checking out!

Brilliant cafe facing right out to sea. Amazing food, we had the Asian fish sandwich special and the vegetarian version which swapped out the fish for banana blossom. Both were divine, huge portions too and great flavours. Sourdough was insane. Amazing Stokes ketchup too. Oat flat white was great too.

Beautiful food in a beautiful location. We dined here on Friday and had a great meal; we opted for the special fish dish, cornish silver mullet, and a smash burger. Both dishes were incredible. Staff were very friendly and attentive; we were seated with another couple who had a dog, and stuff confirmed with us beforehand we were happy with this (which we were). We will definitely be back again.

Enjoyed a breakfast at The Lyme Bay in Lyme Regis. The food was delicious, we chose both bacon and sausage sandwiches. The very tasty sourdough bread needs a mention. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was idyllic, looking out to sea across the bay. You can sit inside or outside and there were canopies over some of the outside seating should you want protection from the sun or rain. We are looking forward to our next visit.

this was one of the best resteraunt experiences me and my boyfriend have had. the staff were LOVELY and so kind. the food was so yummy and the portions were huge, so well worth the money! we sat on the terrace, it was raining but it was so lovely and the atmosphere was amazing (little tea lights and freshly foraged flowers for table decor). it was a 10/10 experience, can’t wait to come back, thankyou for having us

The stuff is supper friendly and willing to go above and beyond to make you have a nice experience. The outside sitting is wonderful with great views. We ordered the fish and chips and was very tasty. The only flaw were the cocktails. Not amazing. Better stick to beer or wine.

Visited the Lyme Bay Cafe on the first day of our holiday and we're delighted that we did. We reserved in advance and came for dinner with our two teenagers and two small dogs and were made to feel very welcome. The service is exceptional. Friendly, quick and professional. The food is very good and I have given it 5 stars since 4 stars on Google tends to suggest "bang average" which it definitely wasn't. It's not winning any Michelin Stars but the seafood linguine was tasty and packed full of seafood, the steak was cooked to perfection and the plaice special was delightful. Add in the wonderful, seaview location, you really can't go wrong here. I'm just sorry I only took a photo of the specials board!

Wonderful accidental Thursday evening. Was wandering past when we saw the mussel evening special and popped in to see if they had a table. What a pleasure to meet someone and nothing is a problem. Sat out in the covered area but was perfectly warm, ordered 2 portions of the mussels and some bread. The waitress , Sarah, was and absolute superstar. Incredible value for money, superb ambience and the best service. If there were 6 stars I would give them.

Town Mill Bakery in Lyme Regis is a popular spot known for its French-style artisan loaves made with natural wild yeasts and no additives. The bakery's success lies in its unique formula of offering a do-it-yourself breakfast experience, unlimited toast, jams, boiled eggs, Town Mill muesli, hot lunches, afternoon tea with delectable treats like eccles cakes and apricot cranberry scones.
We always have breakfast here when we visit Lyme Regis. The staff are so friendly and the food is wonderful .Both the full breakfast and the veggie breakfast are amazing, the mushrooms in garlic sauce are delicious and the veggie fritters are so tasty. Lots of people visit the takeaway bakery and the bakes look delicious. I would definitely recommend the Mill Bakery every time. 🙂

We found this place on Google Maps, so glad we went. We had our dog with us, so we ate on the outside benches. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but it was definitely worth the wait. The coffee was very good and we all enjoyed our food. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. It was very good value for money, we all left feeling very full. They also have a little shop selling lovely treats

Fabulous! What a wonderful place to enjoy lunch whilst visiting Lyme Regis. Such a lovely buzzing atmosphere. We were made so welcome by all the staff even though it was packed with visitors. We were with our two whippets and they were also made very welcome! The cappuccino was the best I’d ever had, and the egg Royale was just fab. We’ll definitely be coming back in the spring!

Just loved this place. Food is fantastic and the decaff coffee is the best had. Set down one of the side street of Lyme Regis. It's worth a visit but go early to avoid the crowds. Also has a takeaway service.

Stopped for a coffee and cake with our whippets. Very dog friendly, lovely coffee and the cake we chose was pretty spectacular. Nice sheltered seating outside with friendly welcoming staff. Foods are not the cheapest but what we had we were happy with.

I love a good bakery, so when we realised our accommodation was literally across the road from here, we visited a few times! Coffee and pastries were great. Lovely seating outdoors. Can be a bit of a wait for a table as first come first serve, especially in the morning, but totally worth it!

We had an amazing breakfast here this morning! Poached eggs on sourdough with crispy bacon and scrambled eggs on sourdough with sausage. Absolutely delicious and kept us full for our fossil walk and the rest of the afternoon! Definitely check it out if you are in Lyme Regis - but come early as it was already pretty busy by 9:30am.

We used it a couple of times and found that on both visits the staff were really friendly and the food was very good, with quite a few vegetarian options.

Nestled in the heart of Lyme Regis, Lilac Restaurant & Wine Bar is a charming and popular venue located in a 400-year-old cellar on Broad Street. The inviting space is surrounded by exposed stone walls adorned with shelves of wines from around the world and local producers. Chef Harriet Mansell showcases her love for the area through a menu that changes daily, featuring small plates made with hyper-local and micro-seasonal ingredients sourced using ethical and sustainable practices.
Absolutely delicious! Each dish, even the focaccia bread with garlic oil, is just so flavourful. The staff are very nice and it is a beautiful place to sit. They do an amazing set menu, which is good value for such gorgeous food!

Looking for somewhere for lunch at short notice, and thought we would give this a try as usual restaurant of choice booked. And I'm so glad it was! Had the Sunday set menu. Quiet and contemporary surroundings, really great serving staff (16.2.25 well done you two!). The food was delicious, really fabulous. Can't understand why it was not packed as felt price was reasonable for quality of food. Would have been 5* but it was a little cold in there and coffee was not very hot - but those are minor points. We would highly recommend and already planning a return visit - worth the 75-minute drive!!

We didn't book, and the restaurant was full, but the server offered us the bar table or outside dining, and as it as a sunny warm evening we landed on the outdoor dining. This is a rare find. Not only was the outdoor dining stylish and intimate, it offered wonderful service, and a 10/10 experience. The dinner was wonderful, from small bites all the way to the main the meal was wonderful. The menu is seasonal and delicious, this was a menu that didn't offer comfortable favourites, but diverse delicious plates that we talked about all the way home. They even made us a tailor made cocktail which was spicy and lovely. We had 3 servings. We are thrilled we got in, and would recommend it to anyone who is a food lover.

Came here for dinner for my partners birthday from London. Fantastic little restaurant in a great location. Beautiful, simple decor and super friendly staff. Lovely seasonal menu with a great selection of vegetarian, fish and meat fishes from the area. The 'soused mackerel' was my favourite and the frangipane desert were exquisite. The wine was local and divine. Great experience and a great meal.
Sebastian C — Google review
We had the seasonal three course meal. Good range of choices and the restaurant made sure all of it could be cooked gluten free. The gf bread & butter was fantastic - nothing defrosted from a pack, but fresh & full of texture & flavour. Excellent selection of wines too.
Emm B — Google review
I came here for dinner after reading such great reviews online and I gotta say this was a truly exceptional dining experience. Excellent and attentive service, with a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the mackerel and rabbit dishes, as well as a brown sugar meringue, a cider and herbal tea. Everything was delicious, really highlighted what I love about dining out. The culinary team showcased some pretty exciting and complex flavour profiles without coming across as over engineered. This restaurant also successfully implements an ever changing menu with seasonal ingredients, which is not an easy thing to do. From my other dining experiences, I know farm-to-table cuisine can easily lend itself to inconsistency. If you’re in the area, I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Harriet Mansell’s Lilac restaurant and wine bar in Lyme Regis is a must if you staying here. I booked a table a few weeks ago as it was for a birthday meal. We arrived earlier than our booked table so that we could try out of some the cocktails. We were greeted by friendly smiling staff and shown to a cosy sofa area where we enjoyed one of their cocktails. We were not disappointed - imaginative ingredients and very nicely presented too! Lilac offers an amazing menu of small plates to share using seasonal locally sourced produce. The dishes are beautifully presented, full of amazing flavours to treat your taste buds and you can just keep ordering! We have previously eaten at Robin Wylde (which recently closed) and experienced Harriet’s amazing talent for great food. It was lovely to see Harriet, who is always smiling, and have a chat. I hope your next venture (whenever that may be) is as successful as both of the restaurants that we have eaten in to date. Thank you to all of the team for making the evening so enjoyable.

Picked this superb place because of a mention in the Guide Michelin and honestly thought they deserve a Bib Gourmand. Tucked away in a cellar in the High, the classification as a wine bar doesn’t do it full justice. It’s a fantastic restaurant with tapas style food and they also have a great wine selection. The staff were extraordinarily nice and engaging and we felt most welcome. Very strong recommendation to book in advance to not miss out on this experience.

Nestled in the heart of Lyme Regis, Millside is a charming waterside restaurant offering a modern British menu with a focus on fish dishes. The restaurant provides a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to savor seasonal British cuisine crafted from local and sustainable produce. Whether you're craving classic fish and chips or more adventurous options like squid ink risotto, Millside has something for everyone.
Great evening for my partners birthday. The restaurant is tucked away behind a micro brewery courtyard in a quiet location. We passed a few tables that are available on the terrace as we were seated inside the dining room. This was decorated in a modern style, white walls and prints. Nice ambient music playing to create a calm mood. Service attentive, friendly and informative. Good wine selection for all tastes and budgets. Opened by sharing Lyme Bay Crab Croquettes, beautifully crunchy and tasty, We shared Fruits de Mar platter which had a good mix of hot and cold fish. It was imaginatively put together with a variety of textures and flavours. No room left for dessert! Thanks for a great evening Millside.

A 10/10 experience Lovely food, amazing service and a lovely atmosphere All the staff were superb and attentive, our food was so fresh and tasted amazing Great value for the quality of it all Tucked away in Lyme Regis it is on my go back to restaurant list. Make sure you book a table as it’s so popular we saw dozens of people being told they were fully booked and no wonder 1 recommendation would be to remove the 20 odd shrimp and just have 4-6 king prawns, the faff of peeling them just isn’t worth it Thank you for a wonderful experience

We had a truly lovely meal here! We were after some decent muscles which we found at the Millside. I had the special lobster starter and the monkfish curry. My partner had a steak. And we shared a cracking bottle of wine. Everuthong was delicious. 10/10

My boyfriend and I were holidaying in Lyme over the weekend, both from Birmingham, we have plenty of restaurants in the city… yet Millside is the best meal we have had so far in 2024! Such a beautiful setting and a intimate dining experience. Although a small menu for mains, the starters are varied. I tried the escargot which our waiter recommended - who knew snails tasted so good! My boyfriend had the half lobster and I tried rump steak, also for the first time. Both dishes were presented beautifully and provided explosions of flavour with each bite, I’ll be dreaming of this meal for weeks! Thank you for such a wonderful meal and such attentive service.

The Whole Hog in Lyme Regis is a top choice for a laid-back dining experience, offering delicious filled rolls with tender pulled pork or chicken, as well as vegetarian options like pulled jackfruit. This street food vendor specializes in hog roast, using locally sourced meat and traditional cooking methods to ensure high-quality dishes. Additionally, they serve specialty sandwiches and vegan-friendly doughnuts alongside excellent coffee.
One of our favourite spots when we visit Lyme! Monmouth coffee is delicious and makes the perfect combo when paired with their doughnuts. We always stop by and grab one of their rolls before a big coastal path hike - it's the perfect start to the day with delicious choices.
EL B — Google review
Love this place so much! Every time my family and I visit Devon/Dorset we make sure to grab a Whole Hog. The hog roast is superb, full of flavour, freshly cooked and the service is always quick. The doughnuts are brilliant too! The tiny shop front has a quirky design but it’s easily hidden as it’s on the main road with a narrow pavement, so be sure not to miss it on your way through Lyme! It’s a must if you’re in the area.
Elena T — Google review
Guys, THIS is the place to go! Lovely people and one of my top 10 meals ever tasted. The 'hog rost' is absolutely delicious and made with love. The apple sauce, caramelised onions...and the perfectly crispy pieces of crust alongside a perfect balance of gravy and stuffing: mouth-watering. And, as a German, I do know about perfectly done hog roasts! You can literally taste the love, and I'm already in despair that I probably won't taste it again anytime soon :/ but anyways, thanks so much and it was absolutely lovely meeting you! Add: if you decide on a doughnut, try the raspberry one. Really good!!! Note that it's takeaway only. You'll find some nice place to sit and enjoy at the costal line / beach around the corner.
Katharina S — Google review
This is a lovely little pop in place to grab a coffee, donut or cooked meats roll. I loved the raspberry filled donut, the filling was fresh and zesty and the dough was light and delicious with just a little crunch. Very good. We had the chicken thigh and stuffing roll. There was plenty of chicken and stuffing but something was a little salty for me. Not sure if it was the stuffing? I would have again but I would prefer no stuffing and a mayo instead of gravy but that is personal preference. There is no seating and not much room to wait and directly on the road through Lyme Regis but staff were friendly and recommended a place to eat to avoid the seagulls which was a short walk away.
VICTORIA C — Google review
Such a lovley Hog Roast Roll. Great serving size and cooked to perfection. My only suggestion would be to supply a small tub of gravy for dipping.
Nick K — Google review
The food was absolutely amazing. I had the hog roast bap to start with, which I highly recommend, especially as it had bits of crackling in it. I'd have liked the roast chicken but they had run out by the time I went, part of me wanted to mark them down a little for this but really not willing to take away a whole star because they faced high demand in the summer. I also had a Nutella filled doughnut which was amazing. They fill their doughnuts fresh in the morning and have lots of delicious flavours. I wanted to go Nutella, the lady did inform me that she'd run out, I was just about to decide on a different filling when she kindly said she could do fill one for me. They keep some empty and fill them as and when people request fillings. Definitely a satisfied customer and recommend people try it if they go there on holiday. Sorry for the average score on atmosphere, the little take away window and shop was beautiful but when you're eating on the street the atmosphere is what you make of it, not really down to the store.

The best raspberry donuts I have ever tasted. Thanks for saving me one. The weight, consistency, crunch, OMG, if I lived in Lyme I would be donut shaped ;) thank you so much Cheryl and Bayley x

Poco Pizza is a beachside restaurant located in Lyme Regis, offering a cozy atmosphere and lovely sea views from its balcony. The restaurant is known for its delicious wood-fired pizzas, perfect for enjoying all year round. In addition to their pizza selection, they also offer starters such as garlic bread and sharing platters with Italian meats, olives, and sun-blushed tomatoes.
We've been wanting to try this venue for the last 3 visits to Lyme, so finally booked a table, wow what a view, totally seagull proof, lovely staff, dog friendly on the terrace only, so recommend booking if you want to take your furry friend Service amazing, very friendly, and welcoming staff, pizza oven located at the top of some quite steep stairs, so be warned, everything cooked fresh Still water brought to each table without having to ask, nice touch, large selection on menu including vegetarian options, we had the Margarita plus, and a Palma served as a Calzone, with a rocket and Parmesan shavings They were probably some of the best pizzas we have had in this country. Food came quickly and was hot, the only criticism we can offer, probably a management decision, a service charge is added to your bill, if you have received good food and service most Customers will leave a gratuity, you can ask for it to be removed but we were happy with experience, so just paid the bill , give them a try when in Lyme Regis but recommend booking

It's pretty good. We popped in for a pizza and a drink. The service was nice enough, and everything seemed to be run smoothly. The seating area overlooking the beach was nice. The pizza was pretty good. You'll love it if you like your pizza thin and crispy, I would have preferred it a little on the thicker side, but it was still nice. Plenty of toppings, and really nice flavours. The pepper grinder didn't work, but the chill oil was very nice.

Arrived a little early and they couldn't even seat us for drink as too busy. Gentle warning try not to arrive early in high season, especially if you have nagging moaning kids!! Pizza and table service was great! Best pizza I've had in a long long time!!! Booked for 115pm but table sitting before us over ran x sat outside which was lovely 😍

A Delightful Afternoon at Poco Pizza in Lyme Regis I must say, Poco Pizza in Lyme Regis is absolute great! Tucked away with a splendid view over the beach, it offers pizzas that are simply scrumptious, bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection in a proper wood-fired oven. The prices are remarkably fair, especially considering the prime seaside location; one feels one’s getting tremendous value for money. We popped in during the afternoon, and it was utterly perfect; relaxed and inviting. I can only imagine how even more cosy it would be in the evening, with the sun setting over the waves. The music was spot on, too, complementing the ambience beautifully without overpowering conversation. All in all, a marvellous spot for anyone seeking a top-notch pizza experience in Dorset. Highly recommended, if you love Pizza and Italian Food!

My partner and I visit Lyme Regis regularly during the warmer months, and this time we decided to try Poco for a change — and we’re so glad we did! From the moment we walked up the stairs, we were warmly greeted by almost everyone, which instantly made us feel welcome and at ease. We were lucky enough to have a fantastic view overlooking the beach, and being sheltered from the seagulls was a lovely added bonus. The team at Poco couldn’t have been kinder — their friendly service and genuine care really stood out and made our visit extra special. The food was absolutely delicious: the pizza was phenomenal, full of flavour with a perfect base, and the garlic bread was honestly some of the best we’ve ever had. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Poco to anyone visiting Lyme Regis. Thank you so much for having us — we look forward to returning soon!

Lovely little gem very close to the sea. We didn't realise until after we had eaten that there are sea view tables outside, so make sure you check those out on warm days. They have a great selection of food both on the menu and daily specials on the board. We enjoyed the best chip butty I've had in years, you even get a choice of bread and the chips were epic. Great service, reasonable prices with a lovely, cozy atmosphere.

My wife and I visited in late July and both had their large breakfast, hash browns and black pudding was extra and my wife had a pot of tea and I had a coffee. The food was excellent and very hot and quick to come out, the bill however was shocking £39.50 for two breakfasts. Even in some superior establishments who manufacture their own Sausages and Bread for example don't even charge that much. As nice as it was I would certainly not return

I went to this cafe with my mom in June. I asked for no mushrooms as I have an allergy and the staff rudely said I couldnt have removed I said I have an allergy and she went all food is cooked in same pan. I said but I have an allergy and she went well you will have to not eat them... she then went over to a man at back and he asked for no egg and she was nice as anything to him. Felt really unhappy at this Conduct. The food come and I had to take antihistamine. Was going to use again but after this we went to another establishment where was made to feel welcome. Thai restaurant on the beach front at Lyme Regis. It’s a small venue so you might want to book in advance. I had the Thai green curry with jasmine rice side and it was very authentic and good. A friend had the panang curry and I tried that and it was also very good. Shame there is only Singha and no Chang lager 🙂 Friendly staff and good service.

We went there on a wednesday night, and it was packed, we were lucky to get a table as two people were leaving. We had the Pad Thai and one of the coconut curries, both with vegetables, my husband's curry with egg fried rice. We both enjoyed our dishes, the vegetables were really nice, fresh and crispy and both dishes perfectly cooked. It was absolutely delicious. Shame we were just on holiday, we would definitely become regulars otherwise, but when we return to Lyme Regis we'll definitely dine there again.

Absolutely love this place! The food is delicious and the view of the beach makes it even better. I ordered the Pad Med Ma Muang for the second time – it’s just so good! My uncle had the sea bass, which he couldn’t stop raving about (he even ate the bones!), and my aunty had the Thai noodles, which were also amazing. I’ve had the Pad Thai here before and highly recommend it. Honestly, even the cheese toasty was absolutely delicious if you’re in the mood for something simple. An interesting place, an interesting experience. The food was great, restaurant is run like a conveyor belt what is amazing in its own right. Thanks to that all with exception of the salad was fresh and flavoursome. Service as good as it can be in a place the size of a shoe box with people coming in and leaving every minute. Most Bangladeshi restaurants overcook prawns in the tandoor. This was no exception but they did much better than most. Shashlik was dyed red rather than plain but tasted okay. Would recommend but advise booking in the summer season. *** Updated to five stars as prawns much softer next day and with an extra £10 of supermarket additions we got nine meals out of it over three days for the three of us - so brillo value ***

Once given my order, I waited over 30 minutes, there was no spice at all. Never once was I asked how my food was. People coming in after me ordering a take out was served before me. NOT INTERESTED iN A WOMAN EATING On Her Own!!

The poppadoms were ok but then tonight's experience went downhill rapidly. The waiter serving seemed to be in a rush and as the lamb jalfrezi arrived sizzling away it went pop and smoke took over. There was little response from the waiting staff despite people choking due to the smoke affect. Doors were slowly opened and window finally opened by one of the patrons. There were four of us eating and initially only three plates arrived. At the end of the meal and when my uncle made his dissatisfaction known they didn't seem bothered, no offer of apology or discount. Due to the smoke effect there was a taste throughout the meal. Not impressed as someone from out of town visiting the place after a year

Spent weekend with some friends fishing and decided to try the local Bengali restaurant although I had some doubts. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and authentic flavours. Restaurant was very busy and staff very friendly and efficient. Ask for ‘Apna” style if you want something something more traditional with the caveat that it’s not hot. Enjoy.

Italian restaurant
If you're on the lookout for an authentic Italian dining experience, look no further than Italia Ristorante & Pizzeria. Nestled in the charming town of Lyme Regis, this delightful eatery offers a mouthwatering array of freshly-prepared dishes that will transport your taste buds straight to Italy. From their delectable pizzas to rich and flavorful pasta options, every bite showcases the high quality and freshness of their ingredients.
We ate at Italia on our first night in Lyme Regis. My parents had eaten at the restaurant previously, and it was conveniently located a couple of doors from our holiday cottage. The food was simple but both delicious and generous, and the service very friendly. If you’re after good Italian food at a fair price, you can’t go wrong with this restaurant.

Another visit…June 2023… the same quality food and drink. Good follow up to phone messages. Much enjoyed. Straightforward strongly recommend 👍 It’s a while since we we last visited, hasn’t changed a bit. Simple, straightforward Italian restaurant, very tasty, good quality food. This time around there were two young ladies ‘in charge’ front of house, both very friendly and efficient. Will ‘keep in mind’ and return again soon. PS Thanks for squeezing us in. Another visit, May, all good maybe less impressed with food for ££

We feel so lucky to have found this restaurant today. We had a bad experience with a pub that was highly rated in google the night before so we were hesitant at first to try it. It was fantastic! Everything was terrific. The high quality and freshness of the ingredients used shined through. My 7 year old daughter kept saying how her tagliatelle with bolognese was the best she ever had and requested I take a picture. My husband and I had fish/seafood dishes that were very fresh and delicious. My son said his pizza was perfect. We had a wonderful ending to a very exciting day.

Went in to order takeaway pizza. The waiters were friendly and happy to help! They told us the wait time so we went on a walk and came back. Worth the wait! The pizza tastes so fresh.

Staff absolutely great. Food was outstanding and everyone in our party of four had no complaints. Atmosphere needs a little soft music for the ambience. Only criticism, seat needs renewing.

Good variety of Italian dishes. In my opinion the Pizza is not their stong point, but the various pasta dishes are excellent. Wine good value. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Prices £££ May 2023. Nice Tagliatelle Fungi. Few places open this time of year, so very welcome to find this restaurant open on a Monday.

The Volunteer Inn is a charming, family-run seventeenth century pub nestled in the heart of Lyme Regis on Broad Street. It stands out as one of the few remaining independent pubs on the high street, offering a wide selection of local ales, ciders, and wines alongside traditional and locally sourced meals. From hearty Sunday Roast Dinners to fresh seafood dishes, this historic inn provides a warm atmosphere where visitors can enjoy delicious food and make new friends.
A wonderful pub. Very friendly atmosphere. Well kept beer. Delicious food at very reasonable prices. Dog and kid friendly. Highly recommended

Well we went into the Volunteer inn they are very friendly and helpful. We spoke to owners, and found that are the 3rd generation, own it. The food is very good. The people that go in there are very helpful, the bar is not to big.so asked if there is another room which you sit down and have your food and drinks.
Graham E — Google review
Great little pub just a short walk uphill from the main tourist area. Full of very friendly locals, serving well kept real ales and good pub food. There are two rooms , one on the left for food which is quieter but you can sit and drink there and the busy hub in on the right hand side. Service is really good and very friendly making you feel at home .
John A — Google review
Cracking pub. Good selection of well-kept ales which frequently change, and in the colder months they even have a cask of house ale up in the bar. Lovely.
H H — Google review
Cute cosy pub. Service was decent. BUT the food was v disappointing and left a lot to be desired… The menu on the website did NOT match what was actually available. TLDR; come for the drinks, leave for the food. My partner ordered the garlic chicken burger and could hardly taste the garlic. I ordered the slow cooked pork belly with roasted garlic potatoes. The potatoes were basically boiled and soft. The slow cooked pork was surprisingly tough for something“slow cooked”. It feels like a home cooked meal I could’ve made better. The only roasting in this place is this review.

If you like old style spit & sawdust pubs (like I do) this is the place to go. Good service, staff were really friendly. Prices very reasonable, we just drank, no food. Toilets could do with some attention (air freshener at least) Dog friendly, the furry kind. On the whole, an interesting place to spend a couple of hours.

The restaurant prides itself on being plastic-free and provides options for vegetarians and vegans. With limited seating available, visitors can indulge in a variety of dishes such as sushi, Bao buns, and fresh salads made from locally sourced ingredients. Absolutely delicious food! If you're visiting Lyme Regis you have to go to Red Panda. Staff were very pleasant and polite. If I lived locally, I'd eat here everyday!

I love, love, love Red Panda. Every time I am in Lyme Regis I have to go there and try delicious bao buns or delicious rice and salad boxes. My favourite is chicken. Sometimes I wish there were more meals in the day than just lunch and dinner. I love their salad too. Everything is so full of flavour and delicious. When I am not eating Red Panda meal, I am thinking about eating it. The service is also amazing, everyone is so super friendly. I would give 10 stars if I could. I could try to describe the flavours, but why describe it, just try it!

Amazing gut loving food!! We loved our salad boxes with chicken & pork and our 2 yo enjoyed his kids lunch box with chicken. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Laura P — Google review
Red Panda is a cozy little beachside gem with just enough room to place your order and then find a spot outside to chow down. We grabbed a bench by a cannon from 1680—nothing like a side of history with your meal. I ordered two pork and two chicken bao buns, some Japanese pork ribs, and a smoothie, all for around £45. The bao buns were scrumptious, with a generous dose of delightful fattiness. The ribs were so perfect I almost proposed to them on the spot. The smoothie was fantastic too, though I wish it was sized for a bit more than a few sips. All in all, totally worth it, and I’d definitely go back for more ribs and history!
Rob H — Google review
First time eating from here and been meaning to for ages. Should have tried it much earlier as the bao buns are amazing and the salad is very fresh that goes with it. Am sure the rice dishes would be equally as appetising.

What can I say about the ‘Super Salad’ with chicken satay other than fantastic 👍. Worth every penny of the £10:75. Hot and spicy complimented perfectly with slices of melon.

I’d rate it more than 5 star if I could! This was the most delicious bao bun I’ve ever tried, so packed full of flavour. I had the teriyaki tofu bao bun with the salad box. The salad was super tasty and crunchy and absolutely full of flavour. A lovely takeaway healthy lunch. It was so tasty we went back the next day to have it again as we couldn’t stop thinking about it! Will definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

Great little find for delicious street food. The Bao buns were the best I’ve had, full of fresh filling and the meat just melts in your mouth. I went back and ordered another it was so yummy. Delicious steak pasty and generous portions of salad and coleslaw. Fab latte that stated hot till I'd finished my food. Naturally friendly staff and Sam Cooke in the background. So glad I chose this lovely warm friendly cafe to refresh myself in.

Walked past Good Food and saw the huge selection of vegan cakes and pasties in the window so called for takeaway coffee and cake. The coffee is served in 100% compostable cups which is great. We chose a piece of vegan apple cake and a vegan peanut butter brownie. The cakes were scrumptious probably the best peanut butter brownie ever and with the excellent coffee sat overlooking the sea in the sunshine it was a perfect start to the day. They had different vegan pasties (about 4 I think), two kinds of vegan pies in the cabinet, a vegan sandwich and vegan milkshakes. Service was really friendly. We had a quick chat with the lady owner who with her husband only took the business over in June, they're doing a great job. Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant,. I come to lyme regis every year, and always buy pasties, cheese scones, and Dorset apple cake, which is to die for. I'm from Devon, so pasties are in my veins, but these are on the top for taste. When I go in always get welcoming staff. Staff very helpful and happy. Great Customer service is very important in a business, and they have it in abundance. Well done. 😊

I was passing this on a whim a couple of years back on a visit to Lyme Regis and was graced by the Dark chocolate tiffin in the window. Upon purchasing and eating it, I didn't shut up about said tiffin for over a year to my partner. We just had a trip to Cornwall from Norfolk and on our return I purposely drove out of our way to stop by here and stock up on the tiffin 😂 absolutely the right decision, whoever makes these deserves a medal! 🏅 Superb, thanks. 👍

We were looking forward to ‘Pie Night’ for a long time, since our friends had been previously. We were not disappointed! The pies were absolutely delicious - especially my fish pie. Out of this world good and hands down the BEST most scrumptious fish pie I’ve ever had. Extremely generous portions, hot veggies, yummy desserts and wonderful service. Really enjoyed ourselves and can’t wait to go back for more!

Booked in for Sunday carvery as we had missed out on previous visits to Lyne Regis through its popularity. We were not dissapointed. In fact far from it. One of the best, if not the best, we have had wherever we have been in the country. We were welcomed by friendly staff. Beef, gammon & turkey were the meats on offer and a wide selection of veg. It was all very tasty and surprisingly the offer was to help ourselves for extra, if you had room!! A variety of sweet courses provided but we both had the apple & plum crumble, homemade and with fruit from the villagers. It did not disappoint. A very good helping and also goes down as the best we've ever had out. We were on the second of two sittings at 2pm. So overall 10/10 and we will visit again when next in Lyme.

One of the best Sunday lunch carveries I’ve ever had — and I’ve had a lot! Three perfectly cooked meats, and unusually, they let you go back for seconds. I don’t eat veg but there was loads of it, and the rest of my group were seriously impressed. Friendly, welcoming staff and great value. I’d genuinely consider the drive up from Plymouth just to eat here again.

A great place to stay. The chalet rooms are spacious warm, and away from noise. The meals generous and definitely home cooked. Steve and Wendy very friendly and helpful, ideal hosts. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The bar decor is a bit tired, but the pub closed for a fortnight of redecoration after my stay, which should sort this.

Vistited on Thursday 11th September around 5.30 pm for dinner and a couple of drinks. Everything was spot on, great friendly and professional service from the bar / waiting staff, food was absolutely delicious best steak and ale pie I've had for many years, my wife chose the fish pie which was also amazing and my son enjoyed his sausages and chips. The Otter Ale was perfect, as smooth as silk. Really good to see a small village pub doing so well and maintaining such high standards, keep up the good work, Many thanks, hope to visit again and highly recommend to all.

Spanish restaurant
Cooking class
The Strawberry Tree is a tapas restaurant and cooking school located in Lyme Regis. The concept was born from the owners' love and extensive experience with Spanish food, drink, and culture. They aim to create unique experiences that bring people together over authentic, delicious tapas inspired by Spain and North Africa. The kitchen serves a variety of dishes such as paella, pan-fried chorizo, crispy squid with aioli, and lemon and pistachio frangipane tarts.
We had a wonderful evening last night at the Strawberry Tree - 11 of us, celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary. We had pre-ordered a few dishes, and ordered plenty more. All were delicious - the goats cheese and aubergine were particularly amazing (I was a little disappointed the black pudding wasn't crispy, but that wasn't mentioned on the menu, simply my preference). We also tried a range of cocktails and other drinks, again they were universally excellent. To cap off the evening, in celebration of the Golden couple, the staff brought us each a shot of a sweet, fortified wine (similar to sherry), which was warmly received. The staff were attentive, atmosphere was good. The only slight problem was that one of the goats cheese dishes didn't get served to the two vegetarians in the group.
Ashley S — Google review
Had a fabulous evening here on a recommendation and it did not disappoint. The warmth and welcome of the place was fantastic and despite not having booked, we were made very welcome (a party of 19 was about to turn up at any minute as well) The staff were engaging, knowledgeable and polite. Owners Ed and Giselle were charming and our waitress, Emma from Manchester was great fun.) The food – small Tapas plates, was amazing. The Pig Cheeks with Prunes and Sherry, Chicken Skewers with Micro Herbs and Yoghurt, Cod Cheeks in Tomato Sauce and the Canaries Style potatoes with Mojo-Rojo Sauce – were delicious. The Burnt Cheesecake with Cinnamon Apples to finish was divine – you must try to pay them a visit.

A great place tucked away in a courtyard next to the Mill House. Fantastic service and really good coffee at sensible prices. Some tasty looking cakes on the counter also! Came here for the Spanish tapas cookery class and lunch. Ran by the chef owner directly. This is an absolute must. We like to cook anyway but we learnt some fantastic new ideas and cookery tips and we all ate lunch together enjoying what we had just created. Plenty left to take home too. What a fabulous and special place the owners have created. Their knowledge and love of Spanish style food and wine shines through when they speak. 10/10 experience. Thank you. We will definitely be returning!

I would have missed this place completely, as it’s in between the two main shopping streets in town, and boy would I have been missing a treat. With its delicious (very authentic) tapas and fabulous cocktails, this cosy little restaurant is well worth a visit. Charming staff too. The Prawns pil-pil were the highlight for me…I felt like I was back in Spain…but my wife enjoyed the croquetas more…but everything was good. This will be top of my list for next time we’re in Lyme Regis…and I will probably try to sync up my visit with one of their cooking classes - I’ve always felt scared to try making paella but I would bet that fear will evaporate after a class here.
Simon P — Google review
Undertook a Paella Cooking Course - what a fantastic day! The instructional process is relaxed, informative and fun, one of the best cookery courses I have experienced. Ed and Giselle are both passionate and enthusiastic about Spanish cooking, which comes across in abundance during the course. Highly recommended. will definitely book another Spanish cooking experience as well as booking a table for dinner.

Great coffee and lunch spot in Lyme. Family (& dog) friendly. We were welcomed with a smile and it felt friendly and cosy straight away. We had the soup and the chorizo hash which were delicious, whilst our 3yr old had half a sandwich portion. The coffee was also very good. The café had such a nice vibe and the owner(I think!) couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend 👌🏻

Yes, I've left a review before, but it warrants another. Cannot recommend Giants enough - everything is always 10/10, the food, the service, the atmosphere and, most important of all, the music. I've tried multiple things on the menu, all delicious, but I'm fully obsessed with the fritters/avo salsa/poached eggs - it never misses! Managed to squeeze in three visits across a four day trip home to Lyme, thats how good this place is See you next month Tom and Team!

I loved this lovely 😍 little cafe. Never got to try it last time we visited Lyme Regis. Got there not long after it had opened but it quickly filled up so get there early or reserve a table. The guy 👦 that ws serving was welcoming and made the best Flat White I have ever had! Even my husband commented on it. At the time I wasn't hungry so I never had anything to eat. On hindsight I should have bought something to take with me. Reasonable prices. Quirky decor comfortable seating. Also had a covered outdoor seating out the back. My only negative is that the toilet 🚻 didn't have enough privacy. What they had to cover the door wasn't adequate. I would totally recommend this place but get there early to avoid disappointment.

A beautiful hotel in a lovely location at the top of Lyme Regis town and overlooking the bay and beautiful gardens. The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. You will receive a lovely welcome and be looked after at every turn. The rooms are very comfortable, beds excellent, bathrooms well kitted out, everything spotlessly clean and very attractive. We returned to the Alexandra Hotel last week having stayed on two previous occasions in the family apartments with our three boys. This time was a trip for two to celebrate our Silver Wedding anniversary. It did not disappoint! What a treat to wake up to a view of Lyme Bay every morning. The room was comfy, stylish and extremely clean. I have high standards! The staff were welcoming, friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was a veritable feast to start the day! We celebrated our anniversary with friends in the Conservatory restaurant. Delicious fresh local ingredients. Highly recommended! We loved sitting in the library with a newspaper and soaking up the sea air in the gardens. Truly the best way to wind down and relax. We cannot wait for our next visit!

We stayed at this hotel for two nights for a close friends 60th party. The hotel is lovely, a lot of character with great sea views, amazing garden and short walk down onto beach. Our room was not the cheapest offered which raises the question, how small are the rest?! Not so much the room which was small but the bathroom which was one in one out can’t shut the door when sat on the loo type of small. We were in Room 1 - went back to room at about 11-11.30pm and all was in darkness. I know there are children staying with family but seriously. No staff for help when our room key was wrong. Called the number and two gents (who knows where they came from) arrived and let us in - no words uttered at all! It appears the very pleasant lady that showed us to the room gave us the wrong key (room 2). This begs the question, were we put in the wrong room for the money, I hope so. I won’t be going back for that price whoever good the location is. Breakfast was fine. When I asked for bottle of Prosecco at the end of the afternoon and was given a (lovely) but much more expensive bottle of English sparking wine from Dorset I feel they had taken advantage of me when the bar had been paid by my friend.

We’ve always wanted to stay at ‘The Alex’ due to its unique location so hopes were high. It’s no exaggeration to say that those high hopes were not only met but exceeded. We had a sea view room which was beautifully decorated and had a view that was hypnotic. The terrace was a beautiful place to relax- the scent of the wisteria was wonderful and we were very inspired by the gardens, especially the water features (blackbird jacuzzi). We thought breakfast was very high quality and the service was run impeccably. Most of all, the staff made it truly special- very friendly and warm. It was a very special stay - thank you.

We had a lovely one night stay at Alexandra Hotel. We'd booked parking so arrival was easy. Despite arriving at 1pm, we were shown to our room, and had an upgrade seaview. The welcome was warm, and the room was beautiful and with great amenities. We only had cocktails but the restaurant looked great. Breakfast was very good. We had wished we were staying more than one night but next time we are in Lyme Regis, we will choose this wonderful, family run hotel.

Nestled in a prime location by the sea, Robin Wylde is a charming family homestay offering a tranquil retreat with the soothing sound of waves. The Beach House Cafe provides stunning panoramic views of Seaton beach and delectable vegan-friendly options. Meanwhile, Robin Wylde Restaurant, led by renowned chef Harriet Mansell, is celebrated for its fine dining experience using local and seasonal ingredients as well as foraged food.
We've just finished an awesome evening with Harriet and her team. It was amazing! Each dish a revelation and a triumph full of flavours and textures making each mouthful a joyful experience. This chef knows how to delight the palate! All served by their adorable serving staff, so knowledgeable and informative as well as engaging and efficient. If you want a great evening then get booked into Robin Wylde before it closes. If you don't you will have missed something special.

This place was honestly stunning. We were sat on the only big table in the place, so already felt special, but the service was sublime - extremely attentive, but at the same time relaxed and fun. As the food came out, we were talked through the dishes and different ingredients (as a lot of them were foraged by the staff), so unlike any restaurant I've ever been to, you got to interact directly with the chefs, which was great, especially as they were all so nice. The food itself was utterly delicious and had loads of new and unusual (in a good way) flavours. Nothing was not an absolute delight to eat. We were also there for hours, but at no point made to feel rushed. We will definitely come back here. Amazing restaurant.

We dined at Robyn Wylde in December 2021 (just got round to writing the review!) and had the most wonderfully amazing meal. The tasting menu is exceptional, using locally sourced produce and all cooked to perfection. We went for the wine pairing too, which was also great. Fantastic service from all the team, all very knowledgeable regarding the food and wines being served. Harriet interacted with every diner at the end of the meal, which is lovely to see. Thank you all for one of the most memorable meal experiences I have had! I look forward to returning.

Incredible food, outstanding service and an amazing 4 hour dining experience unlike any other! Delicious flavours and textures cleverly created to deliver an exquisite and unique tasting menu. Thank you to Harriet and her team for an exceptional evening.

Such an amazing experience, such a gem! Good honest food. Very delicious and touching all your senses! Definitely recommend. Not cheap but for sure worth while! We have taken the wine pairing once, but in all honesty could not keep up with it (too much), so will not do it again, but was very nice in combination with the dishes.

Seasonally, locally sourced ingredients that have been expertly cooked and presented. We had a fantastic meal at Robin Wylde and enjoyed the novelty they bring to cuisine and the area. Be sure to ask about their homemade kombuchas and where they source their ingredients (all local to to area). Expert Tip: request one of the tables against the wall, as there’s no switching once you’ve been assigned a place.
Michelle M — Google review
Sublime tasting menu celebrating the agricultural gifts of the region. Perfect rhythm and evolution of flavours. Wine pairing was just right and surprisingly pleasant given the dominance of local English wines. The beetroot soup was particularly sublime, as was the starting sourdough bread with mussel butter. My favourite was the kale and crab salad. Would love to revisit

Nestled in the heart of the town, Mulberry Manor is a delightful haven for food lovers, specializing in homemade pasties and pies. This charming shop has adapted to post-COVID times by setting up an efficient ordering counter at the entrance, allowing customers to place their orders without entering the store—a unique touch that adds convenience. Visitors rave about their delicious offerings, including prawn sandwiches and chicken salad baguettes that come highly recommended.
Delicious Cream Tea & Lovely Service We stopped by Mulberry Manor Bakery in Lyme Regis for their cream tea deal (£7 for two scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam) and were really impressed! The scones were warm, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and thoughtful—they even gave us a heads-up about the sneaky seagulls nearby! We enjoyed our cream tea perched on the little wall outside the shop, which was charming, but it would also be lovely to take it down to Marine Parade to enjoy by the beach. A great local spot—highly recommended! Let me know if you'd like a shorter version or a more casual tone!

Bought the vegan sausage rolls, the gazillianair’s and pecan pies. My family loved the desserts and wow the vegan sausage rolls were absolutely lovely. Had a great chat with the guy serving who had a great sense of humour. I’ll be back!

Wow! Best pasty I’ve ever had and at a reasonable price too. So nice to see a family run store with children helping their mom this made the bakery for us. The coffees were reasonably priced and lovely and the cakes all homemade! Little gem will definitely be returning.

Tasty!! We bought a large sausage roll, cheese and onion scotch egg and a cheese and beef pasty. The pastries were really tasty! The fillings full of flavour. I'm shocked at some of these reviews, as the majority of similar businesses we have tried have been very mediocre! Very glad we came across it! The young lady that served us was extremely polite and helpful!

10/10 would recommend! The best cheese and onion pasty in my life (and I've had many), amazing vegan sausage roll. Pecan tart was also delicious Service was great, they were all really friendly and gave great advice on the seagulls!

We tried custard tart and steak pastry, both are delicious. The old couple is friendly.

The best traditional pasty there ever was! We had all varieties of pasty which were delicious and also some gorgeous cakes for after! Well worth a visit to this bakery over the larger chained ones!

The Royal Lion Hotel & Pub Restaurant in Lyme Regis is a charming 1601 inn with classic rooms, some offering water views. It has a rich history, having accommodated famous authors such as Jane Austen, Alfred Lord Tennyson, and J.R.R. Tolkien. The hotel's frontage dates back to 1807 and it is well-known locally for spooky incidents recorded in the past.
We stayed here for three nights at the end of September/start of October 2025. Our room was really spacious and comfortable with a spacious bathroom. It was sparkling clean and refreshed each morning of our stay to a high standard. There are a selection of rooms .....ours overlooked the small courtyard but did not have a view as such. The hotel is really welcoming and well maintained. Being an old building there are quite a few steps and stairs to negotiate but there are ground floor rooms available. Due to a mistake on our part in the booking process Sharon went out of her way to accommodate us and sort the issue to a very satisfactory outcome. She was professional and outstanding in her approach. In fact all the staff are professional friendly and welcoming. The position of the hotel is perfect with easy access to the sea front and the high street. Parking is a real bonus too as it is at a premium in the town. There was an excellent range on the menu for supper......in fact the best in the town, all beautifully cooked presented and served. The billiard room was well used by our partners but was exceptionally warm bordering on hot. The pool is a super addition to the facilities too and the ability to book it for your own use is a real positive. Thanks to Sharon's help we will be staying again in the not too distant future.

Had a fabulous night here along with our golden retriever Monty. Carrie made sure that everything was arranged perfectly and ensured our stay went smoothly. The surprise Welcome pack for Monty was much appreciated! We made full use of the pool , jacuzzi and sauna. Clean and perfect relaxation. Breakfast was delicious . We recommend visiting the marina theatre very close by for enjoying a drama production. Thank you we hope to be back !

Had a very nice family feel about this hotel which was built in 1600s. Food was excellent both at breakfast and in the bar/restaurant. Very convenient for the beach at Lyme Regis and all the shops.Staff very polite and friendly. Very quick service at breakfast. Only thing extra I would have liked was fresh fruit like strawberries and blueberries. There was melon, grapefruit, bananas, and tinned peaches. Shower in our room needed updating as very slow flow and too close to the wall to wash my hair.
Sue W — Google review
What a wonderful hotel, friendly and efficient staff, beautiful room, fabulous view, delicious breakfast, could not find a fault. Prime location in Lyme Regis, close to the harbour and shops. Lovely pub atmosphere, loafs of character. Free parking too. Also one of the best room tariff in town. Special mention to manager Sharon who was the perfect host. We'll be coming back.
Tim H — Google review
We had a fabulous 2-night stay at the Royal Lion. We had different rooms each night. The ‘comfy’ room on night one was v small with a window onto the central outside walkway. It wasn’t really what we thought we’d booked and Sharon on reception was absolutely superb and found us an alternative and most lovely room for our second night. All the staff were wonderful, and the food and drink (especially the breakfast) were superb. Thoroughly recommend though the inside facing comfy rooms are small and a bit dim. Thank you again to Sharon for excellent customer service.
Simon S — Google review
Walked in off the street thinking this was a nice looking pub where we might get a decent meal. Wow, it's a very smart hotel with an excellent dining menu. Between us, we had the pork tomahawk and the blue cheese burger. The pork was deliciously succulent and perfectly cooked, and the accompanying veg were spot on. The burger was top notch, wonderfully beefy and enough blue cheese to complement, but not overpower. We really weren't expecting such excellent food and it was a nice surprise to have such a great meal. It seems sadly rare these days to find somewhere like this, with food cooked by a chef that understands how important seasoning is and clearly is very good at what they do. Couple this with the friendly staff who were courteous and helpful from the moment we walked in, it all amounted to an outstanding experience. Do not leave Lyme Regis without eating here!
Annie W — Google review
A haven away from the hustle of a digitally driven world. A stone’s throw from the sea front, settle into traditional coziness with great quality food & drink and lovely people looking after you. A living example of being three hours and thirty years away from London - which is an entirely wonderful thing.

This was our 3rd visit to The Royal Lion Hotel in 3 years running. Absolutely lovely hotel with plenty of shops and things to do on the door step. Very short walk to the beach. The staff are brilliant and very helpful. Rooms are clean and tidy with everything you need. The pool is nice, plus snooker table and other activities. All in all I highly recommend staying. We will be back next year.

Seafood restaurant
Nestled in the charming coastal town of Lyme Regis, the newly opened Rockfish Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience. Housed in the historic Hicks Restaurant building, it boasts breathtaking views over the bay and offers a delightful ambiance that seamlessly blends modern elegance with natural beauty. As you enter, you're greeted by sweeping vistas of the Jurassic Coast's sparkling waters, setting the stage for a memorable meal.
We had the pleasure of visiting Rockfish Restaurant in Lyme Regis for a birthday celebration, and I must say, it was truly an exceptional experience. From the moment we made the reservation, everything went flawlessly. The restaurant offers a stunning view of the sea, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. The service was five-star – friendly, polite, and highly professional. You could tell they genuinely cared about each guest, which made us feel special. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a celebration. The food was simply incredible. For the first time, we tried lobster, and we were not disappointed – on the contrary, it was one of the best we’ve ever had. The restaurant also offered a wide selection of fish and seafood, all fresh and prepared to order. The kids’ menu was delicious as well, which is always a big plus when traveling with family. To top it off, we received a complimentary glass of local wine from the restaurant, which was a very nice gesture. I highly recommend Rockfish Restaurant in Lyme Regis to anyone who loves good food and beautiful views. It’s a place we will definitely visit again!

The food, views and service were perfect. Seafood was so fresh! We had hake with potatos and salad and it was fabulous. Daughter had unlimited chips (which were lovely quality) , it really made her happy ;) fisherman’s coffee was delicious!

Wow so delicious! And such a beautiful space. You can get amazing sea views from every seat. The service was fab despite how incredibly busy it was and the atmosphere was lovely. The staff worked really hard and there weren’t many of them considering how busy it was - they were fab! Definitely a treat meal but you won’t be disappointed! I’m from Essex so was glad to see Leigh on sea cockles especially :D

I've eaten at quite a few Rockfish restaurants. Always a fantastic experience & food. The staff at Lyme Regis were personable, attentive & professional. Food was absolutely delicious & well presented. I'll definitely be booking a table again when I'm back at Lyme Regis!
Sue B — Google review
We had looked forward to Rockfish arriving in Lyme but waited until the team had settled before visiting. Situated in the old Hix building overlooking the beach. This is an exposed location and if there is bad weather you are best to get a taxi or a lift to the door. Holmbush carpark nearby is free 6-10pm. Great views if you are seated close to a window. We have visited on 3 occasions over the last couple of months. Two at a weekend and once during midweek. Our first visit was a little disappointing. Cold chips were presented with mains. These were quickly replaced. No finger bowl with mussels. I initially thought that this was due to the small tables but they were provided to other tables. The Fish is excellent and if this is your main reason for attending you will not be disappointed. The chips are advertised as unlimited but they appear to be simply frozen chips. You are better off with new potatoes. Starters and deserts are varied and are generally very good. I was surprised to see prawns that were not cleaned. Limited beer selection with expensive cans/bottles the only option. Wine is okay but a little pricey. The service team are really good. Attentive and friendly. Quick to deal with concerns. Our best experience was midweek. Super hot food and beautifully cooked. An enjoyable experience for sure but it sits in a specific spot in the culinary establishment given the limitations with the drinks menu, poor chips and potential higher costs.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. The staff were delightful, so friendly and helpful, the food was sublime. The wine was delicious. We had the brill and the hake and chips. Would definitely make a return visit.

We came in for an early dinner (5.30pm on a Sat) as it was a bit chilly outside to eat takeaway fish and chips on the beach. They happily accommodated a group of 9 is us and a dog, just pushing together tables so we were all together. The service was really good with friendly staff, the food was all really fresh with puffy, light batter on the fish but the chicken goujons were a bit dry. We had 3 children with us and they had some games and colouring crayons which kept them entertained. It hasn't got nice views like some of the sea front places but was more reasonably priced. When we left there was a nice buzz to the place. Would definitely go again.

Booked for a 2pm Sunday Lunch with some friends. We arrived on time with a very warm welcome, tried the beers and took them through to the back where our table was. We ordered Sunday roast - beef and chicken plus some red wine (Shiraz) between us. The ambience was nice and the waitress plus chef nice also, however it did take ña out an hour to actually arrive. The quality and quantity was excellent. It cost us >£30 each which is not cheap.

JUNE 2023 … multiple visits. Drinking 🍺 and eating. 😎 weather days, was very lively. Young, energetic, friendly staff. We had catch of the day.. Mussels with potatoes.. worked well. Tasty. Proper pub… QUIZ NIGHT Wednesday evening. Lively. Short and sweet… met up with a local couple of friends at the Ship Inn and we suffered a ‘breakdown in communication’ they’d eaten and we hadn’t 😳. The lovely landlady feeling sorry for us (as they had no chef on that evening) let us bring in Fish, chips and mushy peas from the Lyme Fish Bar opposite. Much appreciated. Very tasty IPA 🍺 proper local pub 👍😊👏🍺. Quality landlady 👍

Popped in at lunch, my son Ordered sandwiches and chips and two soft drinks which were £4 each !. Took 25 mins to arrive and when asked why so long barman said there was only two of them on duty. Sandwich was just about passable but no chips as stated and a few greens thrown on with crisps ! We should have gone to chippy over the road !!!

Absolutely disgusting. Ordered haddock and chips with mushy peas X3 and a ploughnans. The fish was tiny and rick hard and we was given scampi because only childrens fish left. Not asked if we would like that just given it after waiting for 45 mins. The ploughman's was pathetic a few leaves with a slice of ham and a slice of cheese with bread and butter no crusty roll just bread and butter. At £13 for a ploughman's and 15 each for the fish I got a refund. The rest just ate the scampi and left the very hard fish. Very poor communication feel sorry for the lad working the bar on his own

Nags Head Lyme Regis. What an amazing Oasis! Great selection of ales and beers, welcoming staff, Mark, Molly and Ellie provided excellent service. If you’re in two minds where to eat, then this is the place for you. Great food, well presented and at a very reasonable price. If you’re a family then the Nags Head is what you’re looking for. Added bonus is that they are the only ones in Lyme Regis with Sky Sports. Don’t take my word, come and visit.

Found this pub when searching for an alternative to the overpriced tourist centred offering in the town centre. The Nags Head is a short walk from town up the steep Silver Street. It is just like your favourite home local, with sensibly priced real ales, mainly Otter Ale and Otter Bitter, and reasonably priced food. Don't let the TV screens put you off, mostly the sound is low and unobtrusive and choice of channel down to the customers. All in all just like your local at home with friendly staff and locals.Well worth the walk up the hill. Also a pool table and useable dartboard.

Just spent a long weekend at this lovely hotel. We were staying for a family wedding arriving Friday and checking out Sunday. Our room had typically low beamed ceilings in keeping with the property age. Although our room wasn't a refurbished room we had a fabulous balcony and the best views over the bay. The room was clean and tidy and airy which was so welcome as temperatures were high! Bathroom had been refurbished and has a super shower. The hosts Leo and Lou were fabulous and so accommodating. When they weren't around Gemma looked after our needs and was super! Cannot fault this lovely family run hotel. If you have issues with walking or struggle with hills this is a difficult place to stay. There are hills all around and if you go down you have to go back up! We had a family celebration on the Friday as a private event. This was superb, fantastic BBQ food with wide selection of salads. Breakfast was delicious a full English or continental if you prefer. We could not fault our stay and would love to go back at some point and see more of the surroundings. Thank you for a super weekend.

We recently spent a night here with our dog. It's a lovely hotel run by lovely people. They gave us a sea view room. The room was nicely decorated with a very comfy bed. The breakfast the next morning was amazing and beautiful cooked. If I had to be picky, the main part of the hotel might need a lick of paint but I liked the atmosphere of it. Would definitely stay here again.

Aroma is a charming little café that captures the essence of Lyme Regis with its unique style and warm atmosphere. Even during closing hours, the friendly staff make you feel right at home, offering an impressive selection of coffee and delightful treats, including vegan and gluten-free options. While it may be cozy in size, this spot is perfect for a quick break or a leisurely catch-up over light meals and scrumptious cakes.
I love visiting aroma! Vegan platter is incredibly tasty and fresh. Coffee is excellent too. Always save room for a cake though! Plenty of vegan and gluten free options on the menu.

Cute and quirky cafe that serves good barista coffee and light cafe meals and cakes, including vegan options. The coffee was good, but the chocolate fudge cake was a little dry and crumbly. Seating is all inside and there's no outdoor view worth seeing, but inside they have board games to play and a children's section giving the place some additional character.

Went there at closing, and the staff were as friendly as if they'd just opened. Not been to this chain before, but would recommend it. Offered a good range of coffee and treats, with some lovely vegan and gluten free options. It isn't a large place, and I would imagine it would get full very quickly at a busier time. It has its own style, and it definitely suits the setting of Lyme Regis. It's as nice as any other cafe chain, and has similar prices. Better then most for it cake options.

A lovely peaceful cafe, out of the bustle of the sea front. Nice coffee, great breakfast. Even vegetarian and vegan options. The tiffin I had was vegan. The service is warm and welcoming and they are dog friendly. Not to mention the curio shop you walk through to get to it.

Had to readjust the review to a 5*... Warmly welcomed as we entered we managed to find a seat (gets really busy). All the cups and saucers matched and ask the decor around the little cafe was well done... Food was lovely and a nice sized tea pot so we could at least get a few drinks out of it 👍👍

We past a Costa's on the high street on our way. Why would you go to a chain when a lovely and friendly cafe like this is just up the road? A little hard to find, down and alley and through a fossil shop. Worth finding. Great service with a smile and good value. Also some gluten free options.

Used to go there every week 6 of us lovely place to meet. Then the owner wouldn't turn music down so we couldn't talk to each other.I have met lots of other regulars with the same problem at another venue. It's a shame music is more important than happy customers

The Beach House Cafe in Lyme Regis offers a diverse menu with options for every taste. Visitors can enjoy tasty dishes such as hearty soups and stews during the winter months, while summer brings refreshing salads made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The cafe also serves delicious cakes, scones, and fruit yogurt during tea time. Despite some mixed reviews about service quality, the cafe's picturesque location by the beach makes it a popular choice for locals and tourists alike.
I recently visited a charming café located right on the Lyme Regis beachfront, and it was such a delightful spot! The decor is incredibly colorful and inviting, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. The best part is the outdoor seating, where you can enjoy your meal while overlooking the beach — a perfect spot to relax and take in the view. I tried a coffee and a breakfast baguette, and both were excellent. The coffee was just right, and the breakfast baguette was delicious, with the bread being notably fresh and perfectly soft. It's definitely a great place for a casual breakfast with a scenic view. Would highly recommend!

Beautifully bright and colourful little café on the seafront, let down by somewhat grumpy staff. We’ve been coming to Lyme for years but never tried here before as they always seem to close really early. Went in at 2:30 on a hot sunny day and didn’t realise until checking online later that they close at 3pm. Although when we walked past on the way back to our car around 5 ish one of the men was still there so maybe they do stay open later when it’s a nice day. Either way we felt really unwelcome like they were irritated by our presence, bear in mind we were literally the only 2 customers they had. We were told they could only do a couple of sandwiches or small things like tea cakes. Which was fine we only wanted a quick bite. Crab baguette expensive of course but not surprising and you do get quite a lot for that, although it is simply mixed crab meat in a baguette, but you do get a small side salad you can add. Tea cakes were large also. Hot chocolate pretty standard. You can help yourself to water inside. All in all pretty standard café food and drink and unbothered cold staff but beautifully decorated and in great position on the beach with lots of seating outside. I wouldn’t rule out returning as I am interested to try their shakshukas or cooked breakfasts.

I came on holiday with my 7 year old son for Easter holidays. We love this cafe. The food is really delicious , atmosphere is great and my son loved the food as well. The food is also healthy and really nice and hot, when needed. We went there a number of times and we will be back as it was really yummy , plus I could eat healthily .Loved it !!!

Absolutely superb. Lovely shakshuka and the friendliest service imaginable. Well worth a visit! Also, the cake servings are so large they come with their own postcode.

Highly recommended. A gem of a little dog friendly cafe right on the beachfront. Great menu. The Shakshuka was wonderful. The owner and the staff are delightful and so welcoming.

Where to start. Staff very unwelcoming and rude. Had to pay before receiving food and drinks to which one of the items never showed up and upon asking for this to be refunded we were rudely told "would you not have left us that as a tip?" Definitely not! Tables were dirty and service was slow. Food arrived at different times and without cutlery - when we asked if we could get some we were told to go inside to get. Went inside but there was only 1 fork and knife so asked for more and they just filled the tray up instead of bringing to our table. Waiter didnt know which was the cows milk latte and soya latte - luckily it was a preference and not an intolerance. Felt like staff didn’t want to be there. Great location but unfortunately staff really let this place down.

We went into this pub after a bad experience in the Indian taste of india place up the road. Nestled along the picturesque Marine Parade, Tom's Lyme Regis is a must-visit destination for seafood lovers and food enthusiasts alike. This charming, family-run restaurant boasts stunning views of Lyme Bay and offers an impressive menu that highlights locally sourced ingredients. With a focus on sustainability, Tom's features seasonal dishes that range from fresh seafood to delectable vegetarian and meat options.
Toms is situated right on the beach, and we stopped in for a beer and a glass of wine - then gave in to a crab croquette. Oh wow, best decision! The seafood was so fresh and full of flavour. The staff were lovely too - great service, and they even brought us blankets when it got a bit chilly. I’d love to go back for the full seafood platter next time!

I was really looking forward to my Mother's Day lunch. Sadly, the service was terrible. When you ask for salt & pepper, you kind of need it before you've finished your food, but it didn't arrive at all because "the ramekins are in the dishwasher". The cod was bland. The crab sandwich sparse. The oysters and drinks were good but pricey. The view was great on a sunny Sunday. Definitely not returning. I definitely do not recommend, not at those prices.
Tanya E — Google review
Tom's fish and Chips are the best that I've had in all of U.K. Its his batter. He could be a millionaire just selling his lite, flaky crispy batter. Highly recommend. And ask for the hot toddy with heated rum and cranberry juice with a good bit of lime juice. So delicious.
Deb G — Google review
Great seaside vibe, as Tom's is on the path overlooking tgevmain beach in Lyme Regis. Staff are very "on-it"! The minimum is virtually all fish and seafood but for some goat's cheese and a very expensive beef steak. I had oysters - my first time and I was impressed. My next meal was breaded line caught catch of the day, which was haddock - and chips. I'm not a big sea food eater but the rest of thexparty were and they enjoyed the scallops, bream and monkfish. There's a good atmosphere here too. We sat inside but there are tables outside under an awning. Around £50 a head, including starters and drinks. Would recommend.
Nick M — Google review
We had a nice experience here. The views are amazing on the seafront. The Oysters were fresh and delicious. I had surf and turf. I wish I had spoken up at the time about the half lobster that had little meat in it. For some reason filled with a mild curry sauce? I presumed to obscure the lack of actual lobster. What meat there was was mealy and unpleasant. The rest of the meal, wine, and desert and swrvice were very goid however.
Paul F — Google review
Bit pricey, but to be expected for the location on the beach. The food was very good quality though and tasty, just the eggs could have been better. But don’t worry, no one does eggs like me 😂 very good I enjoyed it thanks

Additionally, they serve Sunday Roast dinners and may have adjusted opening times during peak seasons. The restaurant boasts superb panoramic views of the bay and Cobb Harbour. By far the best Fish and Chips in Lyme Regis! A hidden gem that isn’t directly next to the beach but worth it! The food was cooked fresh to order and they worked around allergies without any problem whatsoever! The fish was a great size and tasted lovely and the batter was beautiful! Couldn’t recommend this place enough, I was just gutted I couldn’t try their burgers as well! 10/10!

One of the BEST fish n chips we've had in a very long time. The chips was magically good and crispy. Don't waste your mony elsewhere if you are after some good food.
Maral G — Google review
A small restaurant just off the main circuit of Broad Street and Bridge Street. Though it has an extensive burger menu go for the fish and chips they are premier league. Lightest of batter with proper chips. Everything is cooked to order so none of this fish sitting in the warmer for ages. It was a quiet evening towards end of summer season so couldn't really give more stars for atmosphere but the blokes who run it were lovely. Check the opening times as they change through the season. Highly recommended.
Linda J — Google review
After wandering around Lyme Regis we found this little gem. Probably the most underpriced restaurant I have visited. The food is incredible. The burgers are perfect and not greasy. Everything is fresh. The batter on my fish was the lightest and crispiest I have had. The fish was perfectly cooked, not in the slightest bit oily. The hospitality is excellent. Very quirky and such a pleasure to have found this restaurant. Will be going back soon, although it's a 50mile trip its worth it.
Christopher F — Google review
Unfortunately we went for the reviews and we're really disappointed. It was a quiet stormy night so the place was empty (few people doing take away) but we tried to trust the process and reviews. The whole place really smelt of fryers, which was off putting. People said the fish and chips was some of the best in town... Unfortunately ours wasn't. Raw batter and no real taste. Oil dripping off it too. Chips were nicely cooked. Burger was okay but nothing special. To their credit Staff offered to prep us a new fish meal but we just didn't fancy trying again. My wife hardly touched it.Had some squid rings which were oily and chewy. Still cost 40 quid and I cant remember the last time I was that disappointed with a meal. We should have just trust our gut and walked away. Maybe they were just having an off night. Beer was cheap though which was good.
Tim T — Google review
First of all: Their customer service is amazing! We got to Lyme Regis late, starving, and LBK stayed open longer for us—true heroes. Their fish and chips are great, but I'm all about the burgers! So many choices, and you can tell they're made with care, not just slapped together. The Zeus Burger is my fave, but the Garlic Shroom is delicious too. Sadly, we couldn't try more due to the time we stayed but if you want a seriously good burger, LBK's the place to go.

Firstly, you will find the cheapest alcoholic drink prices in the Lyme Regis, either with your meal or at the bar. Whilst the food is more towards burgers , fish and chips etc, the quality to price ratio is very welcome. Worth finding

The eatery Baroque - Lyme Regis is a dining establishment located in the charming town of Lyme Regis. This restaurant exudes an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere, providing patrons with a refined culinary experience. The menu offers a diverse range of delectable dishes crafted with utmost care and attention to detail. From appetizers to desserts, the cuisine at Baroque is prepared using high-quality ingredients, ensuring each plate is bursting with flavor.
By far the best experience we l’ve had while in Lyme Regis. The food was exceptional!! If not the best, one of the best scollops we ever had, as good if not better than scollops we have in Spain or France. Lebanese meatballs were superb and then the star of the show, the crème brûlée. Crème brûlée was simply sensational, easily the best crème brûlée we have ever had, period!!! We will go back to Lyme Regis just to go back to Baroque. The chef, serving staff and the manager were super friendly and attentive. Just the right balance of attention, friendliness and space needed to enjoy your food. This place is not a stop on your journey, it’s the destination !!!

Brilliant addition to the restaurants in Lyme. The food was absolutely fantastic, we had scallops to start, followed by lamb, chicken, potatoes cooked in the coals and the asian slaw. I couldn't pick a favourite, they were all so good. Everything is cooked over a wood fire and if you are lucky enough to get a table with a view into the kitchen you get to watch the chef work his magic. Service was attentive and friendly, I just can't say enough good things about this place. It's like the best little back street taverna you discover on holiday and bore your friends about for years afterwards.

Everything was absolutely top notch here - the service was second to none, the food absolutely beautiful - cannot recommend it enough - it's not cheap but it is well worth the price for the quality and perfection - can highly recommend the scallops and lamb! Revisited a year later - fabulous experience - the same rave review of the food - highly recommended!

We had a delicious meal at Baroque . The lamb was melt in the mouth , best lamb I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The staff were lovely… the service is a big thing for me . If the service is bad it puts me off a place . Would have had a pudding but was full . They even have blankets so if you get a tad chilly then it’s perfect . Lovely atmosphere, would return again .

Visited with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we had an amazing dining experience. The smells in the restaurant are incredible. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered different starters prawn pil pil and chicken sambal with lamb shawarma mains. The food was exquisite with genourous portions. We finished our meal with baklava and a chat with the owner and chef who were lovely. The restaurant is a gem hidden on Lyme Regis highstreet and you should definitely seek it out (we visited again two nights later to the same amazing experience).
Kaiser S — Google review
Me and the wife were looking at the menu outside Baroque on Friday evening after getting a waft of the food from the high street. The beautiful aroma was enough for us to book on the spot but as we were checking the menu out the lovely owner came out for a chat. She was lovely and very personable. We asked if she had availability for the next evening and fortunately they had one table left. Both our girls loved their food. Pasta and meatballs and chicken skewers with flat bread. I had the Lamb Shawarma main course which fell off the bone and melted in my mouth and the wife had the Frango Grelhado chicken. In addition to these mains we had the Asian slaw, ash potatoes and the charred cauliflower sides. The wood fired cooking of the food enhances what would have already been very tasty food into sensational food. I couldn’t recommend Baroque highly enough if you are in Lyme Regis. When we go back to top up on sea glass and fossils we will be booking again for sure. Thank you baroque for a memorable evening of great food and music 👌

We came for lunch during summer. Two adults and four children. The kids pizzas were a big hit, unfortunately the kids pasta was quite dry and the two who had this couldn’t eat it. There was one option for gluten and dairy free, luckily that was really nice and I do think the staff would’ve tried to cater for this on other dishes. Great location with a fantastic view, very clean tidy and good atmosphere, lovely staff

We spent our honeymoon weekend at the Rock Point Inn and had a lovely time! The stunning views over the sea were the absolute highlight. Even despite the mixed weather, we happily sat by the window and watched the waves for hours. The room itself was good, and the majority of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a minor issue with the shower's hot water supply one evening, but it didn't overshadow our stay. The location is great, the restaurant food was reasonable, and the breakfast was fantastic. We definitely recommend it for a relaxing break with a view!

A small glitch with the room but dealt with perfectly by management. Great location. We stayed one night on the way along the coast. Will certainly stay again. 👍🏼 Dinner was the set roast. The room was cramped but clean and warm. Shower leaked out the door onto the carpet outside the bathroom. So you couldn't have a nice shower in our room without getting everything wet. 2 minute job and had to hold the shower head. But we would definitely stay again as it's a great pub and in the ideal spot. Fantastic in beautiful weather, but equally spectacular with a Southerly gale of wind as well I would imagine. Brilliant staff, which added to the overall experience.

Great menu with some interesting choices and great service. This place has a great location so is naturally busy and is worth booking ahead to make sure you get a table. The menu has traditional pub classics on it and also a great selection of restaurant style options, plus a great special which on our visit was mackerel and it was superb. Hot food that tasted superb. The team running the place were lovely and friendly on what must be a busy day for them. Great service throughout.

Nestled in a charming Grade II listed building on Cobb Harbour, Dom's Table offers an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the best of local cuisine. With a menu that highlights fresh seafood like lobster, crab, and shrimp alongside meat and vegetarian options, every dish is crafted with care. The restaurant features a lovely terrace for those who wish to enjoy their meal al fresco while soaking in the stunning harbor views.
This pop up was wonderful and such a unique experience. To speak with the chef, Dom, and to have insights into the menu was a real treat. The daily-changing menu was carefully curated and the food was fresh and locally produced. My dietary requirements were talked through and so the meal was as bespoke as possible to cater for my needs which was a really unique and fantastic experience. My favourite dish was the soup, but my husbands was the fish. Wait staff were great. The menu was reasonably priced with 4 courses and bread/butter for £43 pp. Would recommend and return.

Delicious food - lovely to have Dom bring out each dish and explain the ingredients, including where they are sourced. Unusual but fun idea to not know what you are having until you enter and see the menu. A great way to try new foods you wouldn’t normally order (lambs heart being an example!) Lovely evening and such a reasonable price. A must if visiting Lyme Regis.

I can honestly say this is the best meal out I’ve ever had. I don’t say that lightly as well, it genuinely is. The whole experience was absolutely brilliant, from the good music, the friendly service, the tremendous wine from just up the road on top of the unbelievable food. The 4 courses Dom served were all fresh, incredibly tasty and the perfect portion size. It was 5 star food without the faff which, for me, is the perfect dining experience. Could not recommend highly enough and we will definitely be back if we’re ever near Lyme Regis in the future!

Really exceptional meal tonight at Dom's Table. Never had such an intimate dining experience, with menus personally tailored and each course presented in detail by Dom. Would recommend to anyone

Best food I've had in years. We went to about 6 places in Lyme this week and this was by far the best. Fresh food, perfectly balanced with a variety of flavours and original combinations. There's a fixed menu, which is quite relaxing because you don't have to choose, and you don't need to because everything is delicious. Dom was incredibly attentive, and told us all about where the food came from and how it was made. Do not hesitate to book if you can. He said he monitors cancellations on the day so you might get a table at short notice.

I had a very pleasant visit to the Waters Edge Cafe, a charming establishment with friendly and inviting staff. My husband tried their carrot cake, which he deemed one of the most exceptional he had ever tasted, and also thoroughly enjoyed his strawberry milkshake. The restroom was clean and well-equipped, but it is worth noting that there is a step down to be cautious of. The food at this cafe was truly fantastic!

Delicious lunch for 6 people - soup and sourdough were heaven. The sandwiches were served with a delicious side salad, beautifully presented. Scotch egg was very tasty as was the chutney and side garnish. Clean and inviting bijou cafe. Friendly, welcoming staff. Quick service, good prices.

Fantastic food!! The smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich came with a beautifully presented salad garnish. The soup was delicious and came with the best tomato sourdough bread. Don't just walk on by as we nearly did, go in, you won't be disappointed👍

Excellent meal last night. We were two meat eaters two vegetarian and one vegan and all very much enjoyed our food. Excellent tofu, lovely chicken chow mien and lovely duck dish. I was a little apprehensive given some recent negative reviews but we were very satisfied and look forward to another takeaway soon.

The food was good but the portions in my opinion were small

Best Chinese takeaway I've had in a long time! Super speedy delivery, lovely staff and a great choice of food. Highly recommend the satay sauce and chicken balls! Would travel back to Lyme just to order again!
Sam A — Google review
You get virtually the same menu at every Chinese takeaway in the country. But it’s rarely this good. Tasty. Good quality meat and prawns. Cooked really well. Superb value, great quality. And on a really busy night after the fireworks when the temptation to cut corners must have been high. Really great. Sad I’m not local to use again.
Bill W — Google review
Fab little Chinese takeaway in Lyme. The food was lovely. I think the litmus test for any Chinese is their chicken balls - they were juicy and tender. Good job 👍 we will order again
Callum P — Google review
Ordered 4 dishes, special fried rice, special chow mein, Singapore chow mein and hot and sour soup. It was for 2 adults and one child. All the dishes were delicious and really good portions. I would recommend this place. We made the order and picked it up after 30mins to enjoy over looking the beach ⛱️

Absolutely beautiful & im really fussy with chinese but this was 10/10. We had chicken curry & beef in black bean both so tasty. Only here for a week but will order again before we leave

Ordered delivery. the ribs I ordered were all fat!!! The salt and chili chips were soggy. Barely any seasonings on. Never really had a problem with the food here but tonight it was awful.

My daughter and I had a superb evening at Sandro's last night. What a little gem of a restaurant. Every dish was delicious and beautifully cooked. Gorgeous fresh ingredients expertly executed. Exceptional service too. Very welcoming and informative. We'll definitely be back!

On a visit to Lyme, I was drawn to Sandro's by its collection of 5 star reviews: they are thoroughly deserved. The menu was imaginative; the cooking exceptional; the service impeccable. For food of this quality it was good value. We really enjoyed our lunch.
Nick G — Google review
Definitely the best meal we had in Lyme Regis! Stunning food and amazing flavours. Sandro and Vicky are clearly super passionate and talented! Hope to revisit again very soon!!
Matt P — Google review
The most wonderful surprise of a restaurant. Beautiful food, lovingly made and served with care and attention. We started with Thai pork & a smoky, deeply flavoured quail dish - two very different but equally beautiful dishes. The mains were equally delicious a wild sea bass with lovely crispy skin and an aubergine based dish in a moreish bechamel style sauce. All finished with a lovely cheese board. A great way to spend the evening of your 20th wedding anniversary. Thank you Sandro’s
Andrew R — Google review
This is undeniably the finest gastronomic experience in town—the kind that would typically cost £150 per person in London. You'll be amazed by the creative combination of ingredients, like the outstanding scallops with cauliflower. Even the humble eggplant is elevated with dates, raisins, and other ingredients, making you rethink how eggplants can taste. I almost don’t want to recommend the place as it was already popular and fully booked during Summer and I had to come back in October to finally try it. Sharing is caring blah blah so here we are ;)
Chevalkova — Google review
We had the most delicious set lunch at Sandro’s! Amazing warm sourdough and tomato salad followed by warming fish curry, perfectly cooked lamb fillet and yummy puddings. Wonderful, friendly service too, the highlight meal of our Dorset holiday!
Jo M — Google review
Wow wow wow! This is truly the most unbelievable restaurant. Vicky is lovely, knowledgeable and professional whilst Alessandro’s food is simply perfection. I have various food intolerances and they came up with the most delicious and thoughtful adaptations/ alternatives for me. Both mine and my husband’s meals were the best we’ve had in many years. To me it was made even better by the fact that the restaurant is tiny, unpretentious and full of heart.
Caroline T — Google review
We came across this intimate and welcoming restaurant quite by chance and it has been the highlight of our week in Lyme Regis. The food is quite wonderful from the home baked sourdough and heritage tomatoes which were a complimentary appetiser through all the courses. Each carefully balanced, packed with flavour and delicious. Vicky is a delightful host who makes you feel like you have been invited to a private dining experience. You will need to book as it is rightly busy and they take care to limit the number of covers so they they can maintain their very high standards. Bravo Alessandro and Vicky!

Nestled in the charming town of Lyme Regis, East Kitchen + Bar has quickly become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors alike. This delightful East Asian restaurant offers an impressive array of dishes, from tantalizing small plates to hearty entrees, all crafted with authentic flavors that transport you straight to Asia. The welcoming staff enhances the dining experience, ensuring that every guest feels right at home.
Certainly not the first to say this. “Exactly what Lyme needed!” Our first meal at the new “East” asian fusion restaurant in Coombe Street was nothing but sublime!! Lyme Regis is incredibly lucky to have so many excellent independent restaurants but I’m not sure you can get much better than this. Such a friendly welcome, an exciting menu at very reasonable prices, and unbelievably great food makes “East” an absolute jewel. Not utterly surprising considering it has two Lyme-based culinary legends behind the wheel, Natalie Mc and Keian Gillett. A match made in heaven!! Get yourself a table at East…….whilst you can!! ❤️
Jon D — Google review
Saddens me to rate a restaurant one star but this was honestly a horrendous experience. The service was okayish but not great. The food was just about eatable. That's it. Ordered spicy mushrooms, vegetable gyozas and vegetable noodles. The spicy mushrooms were so salty that I actually quenched while eating. Not nice at all. Gyozas were super bland and overcooked, soya sauce provided was super watery with 0 flavour. The main was vegetable noodles and it was the first vegetable noodles I've ever ordered from a restaurant for £12.50 where the seasoning used were oil and burnt vegetables from frying. It was quite possibly the worst main I've ever had. The noodles used were the cheapest dry boil in the pan noodles you could find. Seems it was fried with the red panda chilli flakes which were burnt and added to the burnt flavour of my noodle dish. I ate here during the opening week of east and remember the food actually being nice, left me wanting to eat more. Not sure how a restaurant has degraded in value, service and food that significantly in that time frame. DO NOT eat here. You will simply be severely disappointed. This restaurant needs a significant overhaul. Can't see myself ever coming back here. It's a shame considering red panda's food is nice.
Aman B — Google review
What an outstanding addition to Lyme Regis. A lovely and authentic Asian restaurant offering a range of small plates and bigger dishes too. East is run by the same person who owns Red Panda, which is excellent for take away, but East offers a wider range of food and is a restaurant with wine list, sake, on-tap Asahi and bottled Buddha and Tiger beers. Beautiful flavours, well presented food, helpful advice and service, well priced Asian experience. Just what Lyme Regis needed. 100% recommended.
Peter T — Google review

John B — Google review
Absolutely amazing service and food. We arrived late with a rather full restaurant near closing, they were happy to seat our party (3 people). Upon arrival they offered us the menus and specials and served us very quickly. Overall a delicious meal and well worth a look if you are around!
Mark J — Google review
We wanted to treat ourselves to a special dinner and after reading the great reviews, we were ready to go ‘all in’ with starters, main and dessert. We both ordered the seafood curry as a main, which was disappointing to say the least. For £18 each we were expecting something really special, but the curries were basically flavourless soup water with a few pieces of frozen seafood mix thrown inside. The consistency for all wrong for a curry - it was soup served with rice. While the starters and dessert were good, the mains spoilt the experience for us.
Katy T — Google review
Great food! First time trying! Table organisation could have been a bit better, understand its a small space so its hard for big groups! Starter timings could be better as 2 starters came out as everyone was finishing theirs! Overall a very pleasant night. Will definitely be back!

If you're looking for a delightful seaside experience, Coal Greek Takeaway is the perfect spot to satisfy your cravings after a day at the beach. Whether you’re enjoying crabbing with the kids or just soaking up the sun, this eatery offers an array of delicious options that will keep everyone happy. Their thick chips are a must-try—crispy on the outside and fluffy within, they make for an ideal snack.
Was feeling a bit peckish before heading off from Lyme Regis Beach, I decided to grab some chips from here. I must say, they were perfect, just the right size, well seasoned, and perfectly cooked. The thick chips were crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, with no excess oil at all. A great snack!

Visited based on reviews and we had a great experience. From point of ordering where I had specific dietary needs it was refreshing that the person taking my order was knowledgeable and helpful about what I could and couldn’t have. Food was delicious and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return. Thank you.

Terrible. Miserable woman just gave excuses for being rubbish. Half a small cup of coffee for 3.20 and she said because she didnt know how to use the machine. Disgusting should have got a Costa. Avoid at all costs or burn your money. Coffee was awful too.
Amanda D — Google review
Absolutely amazing! Placed an online order and got a call to say it would be available to pick up earlier than scheduled which was great as we were starving! Such good value for money and the food was absolutely delicious; our clear favourite being the Greek sausages which were so tasty! Would definitely visit again and recommend to everyone who would like great food with good portion sizes! :)

it’s the perfect post-beach day meal/snack to have! shared some lovely halloumi fries, chicken gyros and souvlaki with my family — all of them were delicious and my only regret was not ordering more! 😭🥹 (sorry the only picture is one of a gyros that’s been absolutely devoured) thank you to the lovely staff as well, working hard at the year’s end - happy new year to everyone 🎉 :”) please give this place lots of love!!! it’s super convenient to grab and go, with it being located right beside the carpark. prices are reasonable for the portions you get. wish i could go back but i’m only here a couple days so till next time :”)

Absolutely love, love, LOVE this little spot. Annie was fantastic, and we can’t wait to come back. We came as a group of 10 for my birthday (out of season) and had the best time. Highly recommend if you enjoy excellent, creative food, go there immediately.

Fantastic dinner at Fennel Tapas. Small, intimate dining room, open kitchen all ran by one very talented chef, great front of house and not to mention ruin the pot washer ! The small team of 3 run a great restaurant, the food was excellent, highly recommend a visit to support these guys and their venture
Stephen H — Google review
We can 100% recommend this wonderful little gem if you are in or around Lyme Regis! After some time searching online, we settled on Fennel Tapas as our choice for a meal out whilst on holiday and we are so, so glad that we did! Not only is the food top-notch, authentic, fresh, and inspiring, but the service was friendly and just laid-back enough for you to feel really welcome, yet truly valued. We wanted to try everything on the menu but settled on a selection of 7 dishes at our waiter's recommendation. Not one of the dishes disappointed. Their use of seasonal and fresh ingredients, combined with expert cooking and flavours left us pretty lost for words. This place is a hidden gem and will blow away anyone with a palette for proper European/Mediterranean /Spanish style food who wants to try everything - nothing will disappoint you! We also tried the burnt caramel ice-cream, made in-house, and it was the best ice-cream any of us have had (I don't even like most ice-cream!). If you are looking for truly good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and people that care about their craft then you have to book in - Don't miss it! 👌
Abigail F — Google review
It's clear the owners and servers at Fennel Tapas, love what they do! Food is incredibly and well considered. They don't pack all their guests in so whilst is a small dining floor, you've lots of space around you to enjoy the food and company. Can't wait to visit again given it's a seasonal menu! 👐🏽👏🏽

Nico, the wonderful host was fabulous and helpful, the splendid chef Annie with prompt efficient service amazing tasting food would recommend to anyone absolutely loved it ❤️❤️
Freya 1 — Google review
The initial tapa was tiny: one small pile of thumbnail sized chopped up salami and five slivers of manchego with membillo cost £12. Stingey. The rest of the food was creative and well cooked. It is pricey. Probably needs to be and it’s certainly a great addition to Lyme but would be better if they were a bit more generous with some of the basics. Eg a nice bowl of simple bread as a courtesy.

What a brilliant shop in Lyme Regis. A lovely atmosphere, super friendly staff, excellent selection of individual foods, Italian treats, loose ingredients and THE BEST HOT CHOCOLATE EVER!! We ordered for collection over the phone as we wanted to enjoy our cottage views. The service was very friendly and prompt. This turned out to be one of the best meals we have ever had.
