Salvation Cafe is a popular spot located in Milpark, known for its casual and hip atmosphere. It's a favorite among business people, families, and hipsters alike. The cafe offers a diverse menu featuring breakfast options like fruit salad, eggs prepared to your liking, pancakes, French toast, Benedicts, and breakfast burritos. For lunch, patrons can enjoy burgers, salads, sandwiches, wraps, fish cakes and BBQ pork belly rolls.
Great visit for Mothers Day breakfast. Five adults and two year old boy all delighted. My Salvation Breakfast was excellent.

The absolute highlight was them giving us blankets since it was chilly outside 🫠 such a thoughtful touch! The atmosphere had great vibes, and the food was spot on.💯
Khuliso M — Google review
Very popular with the breakfast and lunch crowd with a very comfy, cozy atmosphere thanks to the blankets and heaters provided in the winter months. We rolled in after a chilly morning spent at the WITS Parkrun and were grateful for the brisk service of getting our hot drinks and food. The breakfast menu is great and well portioned.
Seanan W — Google review
Friendly staff and great food and coffee. Sat by the fire and enjoyed a breakfast here. The cafe is in a small shopping enclave.

Cafe Salvation at 44 Stanley is a great Cafe with good food, top service and beautiful ambience. We had egg shashuka and vegan shashuka with fresh fruit juices which were so delicious and enjoyable.
Mighty M — Google review
What a great experience! The food was incredible, and the staff were attentive. The cheesecake truly was divine and lived up to the hype.
Raquel U — Google review
Good vibes, great food and incredible people. A must visit ✌️
Kione C — Google review
I personally had the Breakfast Nachos, and the kitchen had one thing to get right on my plate. Hot scrambled eggs! They were ice cold. It was incredibly disappointing. The hot chocolate was decadent. Their milk alternative brand is Milk Lab = WIN. The service was rather average. Coffees and hot chocolate's arrived hot, but no check-in after the food was delivered. The brownie was not served warm and I just don't understand that. If it was warm it would probably have been the perfect ooey-gooey consistency. The cheesecake was good, it didn't even need the berries on the side. The carrot pineapple slice was dense, moist and a generous portion. When an establishment has a decent rating, you generally have certain expectations and this visit was a let down.

The Whippet in Linden is a trendy cafe bar that offers a variety of homemade dishes, specialty teas, and craft beers. One of its highlights is the Double Chocolate and Almond Cruffins, which are a delightful combination of muffin and croissant filled with rich chocolate and topped with almonds. This popular spot attracts office goers, students, and brunch enthusiasts who enjoy the delicious food, great coffee, and vibrant atmosphere.
It was my first time at The Whippet, for a Saturday morning brunch run. The lady at the door was so worried when we chose a table outside on the deck, she brought me a blanket! That was a nice touch! The waiter was friendly & very attentive, the food was number 1. Its always a pleasure to go to a place thats not only just aethetics, but has great food, thats reasonably priced. The mimosa was also good & we loved the "skinny fries." 😂 I would definitely recommend this place, & i would go again!
Naledi R — Google review
The food here is very tasty and definitely worth trying. The restaurant is usually busy, which shows how popular it is, but service is quick and efficient. The only downside is that the staff tend to rush you to leave once you’re done, which makes the experience feel a bit hurried.
Balram R — Google review
Charming place for a lovely brunch. Food is on point, service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is suited for any occasion - social or business. Would love for the coffee to have a bit more depth.
Pierre C — Google review
Excellent coffee, fun breakfast menu with many things I would like to try. The home made tomato relish was the standout for my breakfast, but the eggs were also perfectly pushed and the rye was softly toasted, something not many places get right. I would have made it 5 ✨ if it wasn't for the outside staff who failed to guide us, just saying "sit anywhere",, but we were happy that we pushed on, and inside we were welcomed.
Nikolaus M — Google review
This was my first visit to the place, and I loved it. Whether you prefer a nice coffee or a more relaxed drink, you can enjoy it in this cosy atmosphere. You have the option to sit at a spacious indoor table, by the wide-open windows (as I did), or at a terrace table. The staff are friendly, and the establishment is clean. With a film lab nearby, this charming venue will definitely become a regular stop for me in the near future.

Went for my birthday treat. My banana bread was dry and lacked banana. Moms food was good but won't go back in a hurry. Waiters don't even see if all is ok. I had to ask 3 times for a cuppa
Heidi G — Google review
A great brunch spot on a Saturday morning. We were seated outside with the sun shining on us with welcoming staff. We had a pleasure having brunch at the Whippet :)
梁瀞 — Google review
What a wonderfully run establishment. Very rare to find businesses being run personally by the actual owners! But this is what makes this establishment such a huge success! Friendly staff to greet you and make you feel so welcome from the moment you step in! Service was fantastic, where teamwork between waiters ensures that things run smoothly and your every need is attended to. The food…? Fabulous, delicious, well presented and reasonably priced for the level of quality you get. I had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, my dad had the spinach and feta breakfast quiche (photos below). Eggs were perfectly poached to medium as requested and the English muffins were light and tender. Never took a picture of the coffee, cheesecake or the chocolate pastry I had, but they were all just as delicious as the mains. PS the fact that they are pet friendly was an added bonus!!! Thank you for the best breakfast experience ever! Well done to the entire team!

Arbour Café & Courtyard is a charming spot that exudes the ambiance of a modern French café. The interior features green accents, wooden tables, and comfortable seating, while the courtyard offers a whimsical setting with potted plants. This local hang-out spot is known for its excellent cappuccinos and delightful breakfast options, best enjoyed in the cozy courtyard. The café takes pride in serving delicious and wholesome food made from fresh ingredients, including gluten-free buckwheat galettes.
We have been coming here for 6 months and one of our favourite spots. All day breakfast in a sunny hidden square. I love their eggs benny with Brie and prosciutto. Great service and delicious food.
Matt C — Google review
Food amazing, service thoughtful and atmosphere is neighborly. When looking for a place that values their clients and it reflects on all round experience then this is a benchmark. Doesn’t look busy from the outside but it is buzzing with activity. Quaint courtyard or undercover patio. It is all good. Clearly the locals agree. Burgers for breakfast! Let’s go.
Sean L — Google review
Reservations were made, and luckily so as it was extremely busy. We sat in the courtyard and it was extremely noisy due to the large groups in attendance. Service was, prompt, tentative and friendly. Food was average. Rather pricey for portion sizes. Sourdough toast was hard (as if it was toasted twice)but we were given fresh toast when we asked. The vegetarians were happy as they had options to choose from. Parking is in the street so can be difficult to find.
Lily W — Google review
Arbour Café and Courtyard is an absolute gem! The food is absolutely delicious — a solid 10/10. Every dish is crafted with care and bursting with flavour. The ambiance is magical — you truly feel like you’ve been whisked away to a quaint Parisian café, far from the hustle of everyday life. The service is exceptional, warm, and attentive, making the entire experience even more memorable. I’ve completely fallen in love with this place and will definitely be visiting often. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a charming spot with incredible food and atmosphere!
Jeanette T — Google review
Manager was friendly and smiling. Courtyard is a little bit cramped for the number of tables they have and cater for. Food was quite good and flavourful. I had the grilled rib eye strip baguette. Service is somewhat slow and could be improved. Not a bad experience if you don't mind waiting, but you could get better service elsewhere.
Rephaim M — Google review
Hidden in a courtyard, this establishment is visited by a trendy crowd. We weren't wowed by our food, but we still enjoyed the experience. Must book for groups bigger than 4.
Jane S — Google review
From the moment we stepped into Arbour Café & Courtyard, we were immediately embraced by the warm and welcoming atmosphere that this hidden gem provides. The inviting courtyard setting served as the perfect backdrop for a breakfast experience that was simply unparalleled. The staff were not only friendly and attentive, but they also displayed a level of professionalism that added to the overall high-quality experience. The highlight of our visit, however, was without a doubt the breakfast. Every dish we tried was a testament to the culinary expertise at Arbour Café. The blend of flavors was an absolute delight, each bite revealing a new layer of complexity that left us yearning for more. The use of fresh, high-quality ingredients was clear, adding an extra dimension of enjoyment to our meal. This breakfast experience at Arbour Café & Courtyard has set a new standard for us, one that will be hard to beat. Five stars well deserved!

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Parkhurst, Nice on 4th is a delightful café that radiates charm and warmth. This unpretentious eatery specializes in breakfast, brunch, and lunch, drawing crowds with its fresh and flavorful offerings. The highlight here is undoubtedly their signature Egg Baskets—two toast baskets filled with poached eggs and crispy bacon, drizzled with spicy tomato relish.
What a lovely fined. Absolutely amazing place, top quality food, the best homemade ice tea and incredible service. Was so good i went back the next day to have the exact same thing !!
Ayanda C — Google review
What's your idea of breakfast? Some eggs, bacon and toast? Nothing mind blowing and hard to mess up. So I hardly ever go out for breakfasts and would rather save my appetite for lunch. But after going to Nice on 4th, your opinion will be forever changed. Never have I ever been so impressed by a breakfast before. We were warmly greeted on this chilly morning and seated inside the restaurant quite fast. The place was quite packed to begin with. We had some mimosas and milkshakes for drinks. Thereafter followed by our breakfast which consisted of the 2 half and half's. One was the egg and crumpet basket and the other the salmon and crumpet. The savory, sweet and saltiness danced on my palate and sang all the right notes for this symphony of flavour in my mouth. It was just so different from the conventional breakfasts I am used to and pleasantly surprising. Also to mention was the freshly baked croissant that we enjoyed which was light and flaky. The service was fantastic and I didn't have much to complain about. Would I return? Without hesitation!
Calvin R — Google review
'A brunch without mimosas is like a day with no fun' what a catchy phrase. This restaurant is quiet the gem. The food was delicious, will be returning to try out note dishes. Super friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant setup has its own identity, very fun.
Mmaphuti M — Google review
The atmosphere at the restaurant is lovely. I had a relaxed and comfortable time there. If you like scones, you should definitely try them—they’re really big and fresh. The strawberry bacon pancake felt unusual at first, but it was tastier than I expected. I also tried the egg cup, and like some other reviews mentioned, the bread was a bit disappointing, but the filling and sauce inside were perfect.
EJ — Google review
We had such a wonderful brunch at Nice on 4th in Parkhurst! The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, with a lovely charm that makes you want to linger a little longer. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious — beautifully presented and packed with flavour. Every bite tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and the coffee was spot-on. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed weekend brunch or to catch up with friends.

Coffee, Cake, and Good Vibes at Nice on 4th. A friendly and pleasant spot with both indoor and outdoor seating; the atmosphere at Nice on 4th truly lives up to its name. Their cappuccino is amazing, and the cakes and breakfast options are absolutely mouth-watering. Perfect for a casual meeting or catching up on work while treating yourself to a really good cup of coffee.

I've never had a crumpet before but Nice has become my go-to breakfast place whenever I'm staying in the area! What a delicious combination of flavours! The atmosphere is very chill and the staff are super friendly.

Beautiful experience- beautiful setting and great service. Tasty food and would highly recommend popping in for a bite to eat. Great service and very friendly staff. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience 🙏🏼
Yura H — Google review
We stopped by for breakfast and the restaurant was very quiet, almost empty. The menu felt a bit limited for someone who doesn’t eat beef or pork, so I went with the ratatouille. It was decent but nothing special. The dirty chai, however, was really good and the highlight of my visit. Service was quite slow, which didn’t make sense given how unusually quiet the restaurant was at the time. Overall, a lovely space with a calm atmosphere, but the food options could be more inclusive and service more attentive.

Love this place but ordered a slice of my favorite carrot cake on uber eats and it was half the size i usually get. Very disappointing for R125
Lisa S — Google review
Is always a great place to relax and have a mimosa , my son and I had lovely meal and drinks , it’s very crowded though , however it’s always easy to get a table … My last visit there was unfortunate as I was charged for drinks that I didn’t order , and wasn’t served… Will return though however it’s very important to always check your bill !
FE F — Google review
We went in for breakfast on Saturday morning. The restaurant was fairly empty but did start to fill up. We ordered 2 dirty chais but the waitor only placed one order so we had to wait while they made the other drink. For breakfast, I eggs Benedict with a side of chicken breast. The food was tasty and there was a generous helping of hollandaise sauce. The wilted spinach was not to my liking but this would be personal preference. The decor and food were nice but the service let them down.
Ranvir S — Google review
Lovely menu, could be a little expensive for some people, but it's Hyde Park. Service was good and food was prepared and presented as requested. Portion sizes could have been a little bit bigger. Lebo serviced us alright.

Le Parc by Tashas at Hyde Park combines a beautiful setting with a Parisian feel. The menu is inventive, breakfast is delicious, and the staff are warm and welcoming. And if you wonder what a salmon trout is – it’s rainbow trout, with a look similar to salmon.

Cafe
Nestled in the charming suburb of Greenstone Hills, Cafe Billibi has become a beloved destination for locals seeking comfort food with a twist. With a seasonal menu that features everything from oxtail to salmon and avocados, this cafe is known for its hearty breakfasts and leisurely lunches. For over 15 years, Chef Clifford Correia has captivated diners by continuously evolving the menu while maintaining an emphasis on bold flavors.
Surprised we haven’t discovered Cafe Billibi before last weekend. Amazing food, super fantastic service. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The food looks like art on a plate, but also tastes delicious and is well balanced. We had their eggs Benedict, corn hotcake breakfast, euro croissant (ham & cheese) and a side of halloumi. The eggs Benedict were pronounced perfect by my partner, who orders this dish wherever it is available. The corn hotcake breakfast was perfect for someone like me who is always on the lookout for something different. He loved their coffee too, but for me it was a darker roast than I personally prefer. Next time I will check if they have a medium roast. We are definitely headed back here some time soon.

Consistently good food. Everything on the menu is well thought out and always seems to be freshly made. Coffee is also great. Service is consistently good as well. Probably been there at least 5 times this year alone. Worth ordering from the specials board because you can sometimes find really unique dishes.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch with family for mom's birthday. Jay our server was fantastic... the Food... WOW everyone enjoyed... from Fillet Wraps, .meatball sandwich, chicken skewers, beef burger, haloumi salad, chicken bowl and Mediterranean chicken... every meal was beautifully prepared and presented as a fresh art piece... thank you. Will do this more often.

Always delicios breakfast. My favourite being the hot corn stack. Freshly squeezed orange juice however should be served withput ice or atleast ask if we want ice in the fruit juice. Service is good. Ample parking. Wheelchair accessible.

Cafe Billibi is always exceptional! I'd been craving a really delicious steak, and they didnt disappoint with this perfectly cooked ribeye steak and creamy peppercorn sauce, on a bed of crisp, pan fried vegetables and smashed potatoes. You really hit it out the ballpark with this one!! The staff are amazing, the atmosphere is stunning, and overall it's always a wonderful experience!! ❤️

This venue is conveniently situated in Greenstone Park, which forms part of the Greenstone business hub, eadily accessibile from major roures such as the R25 and N3. Parking is plentiful and free (!!!). Being in a strip mall, there is not much atmosphere, but the venue is spacious and airy. Prices are reasonable and the menu is quite diverse. I enjoy a good toasted sandwich, and the chicken mayo did not disappoint. This venue is great for casual business meetings ir breakfast or lunch with friends. Highly recommended.

The place first of all is refreshing, very clean and breath taking. The food was very nice, would definitely call again. I had went there to try new meal and wooooooow no regrets at all. The staff was great and kindly. I really had a great late breakfast date with my husband.

It may be true that some of the best places are found by accident. Went there for breakfast. Was fairly busy for a weekday morning. Atmosphere is great as it is a small cafe that looks and feels like a small cafe. The staff are amazing, friendly, attentive and don't overdo or underdo their service. The coffee was good but the part that makes me give it 5 stars is the food. We ordered the hot cake breakfast and the salmon sandwich. Both made amazingly well. Fantastic flavours and presentation fit for a more expensive place. Everything was so well made. Definitely a must go spot.

Breezeblock Cafe, situated in Linden, Johannesburg, is a popular spot known for its excellent breakfast options such as huevos rancheros and baked pancakes. The cafe also offers a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Many patrons are drawn to the inviting atmosphere and often end up staying for the coffee. The covered courtyard adorned with potted succulents and cacti adds to the charm of this pastel-shaded oasis of mid-century style.
Don't go to Melville and definitively do not go to Brixton, there is so much crime there. Well they were the rumours I had heard. I was so surprised at how clean and well maintained the area was and at no point in time did I feel unsafe. Unfortunately the roads in front of the Cafe no longer exist, it looks like a mains water pipe exploded converting the tar road into a dirt road. That being said, the Cafe was a real hidden gem in Brixton. The staff were amazing, even the car guard was amazing. The food was great and the price even better. Their coffee is also amazing. I will be back
Ule F — Google review
Hired the cafe for an event and the staff was wonderful. Efficient! Friendly. Very professional and communicative. They willingly changed the entire arrangement on the day and the set up plus cleanup after was fantastically fast. Enjoyed the service of the space, including sound, catering, extra space made available for a creative corner. And the sunny, cosy feel of the venue is a great perk. They don't have parking but provide guards. Lovely experience overall.
Nondumiso M — Google review
Very lovely coffee shop, has both inside outdoor seating, minimalistic design, and a feel-good vibe. What topped my experience was the coffee art! Made it look spectacular 🙌 the 2 ladies one a the batista and the othe a chef were very friendly and social felt like I belong. Thanks definitely will be a regular here.

A blessed return to coffee shops that have real character - no twee Instagram letterboards in sight. All the plants are real (and the succulents in the courtyard are truly splendid) and the staff are so lovely and welcoming. I felt like I had returned to the Melville of my youth - the pressed ceilings, the authentic people, the absence of annoying influencers. Splendid, splendid, splendid 👌
Zoe H — Google review
Attended an after hours event here. Overall it wasn't terrible and I'd want to experience normal dining at another time. But the service wasn't that great. And the arrangement wasn't good either since we were holding our bowls of food and glasses and afterwards there wasn't anywhere to put it down on/ waiters walking around to clear. That said their wedges were delicious- crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

What a delightful gem to have been introduced to today. Under clear blue winter skies tucked into a corner inside where sun could reach us, we dined on beautifully presented simple fare. I had cold pressed fruit juice and their coffee later. Both wonderful. The food was a sandwich (2 open slices of Rye) topped with avocado and grilled halloumi. They provided home made mayonnaise (delicious - if not as tangy as bought) which I found complemented the accompanying potato wedges as well! To be tucked away in a side street of Brixton, wonderful atmosphere and surroundings, I am definitely back there any time an opportunity arises. I have to say well done! 👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻‼😃

Mantis and the team at Breezeblock are phenomenal. I recently held a party at the venue, their warmth and professionalism was above and beyond. From welcome drinks and canapes, to keeping their kitchens open for our guests, the food and drinks were really great. The space was inviting and so many guests complimented the feel of it. I would highly recommend reaching out to this venue to anyone wanting to host an event. I'd give 10 stars if I could.

The Fat Zebra Linden is a trendy and stylish cafe located in the up-and-coming area of Linden. It's known for its delicious breakfast and lunch menu, offering options like Buttermilk Crumpets with crispy bacon, cre fraiche, berries, almonds, and syrup, as well as savory dishes like The Full Monty and Eggs Ben-Addicted. The cafe also serves a variety of freshly made cakes such as Chocolate Torte and Lemon Meringue Cake.
Fat Zebra is quickly becoming my go to favourite restaurant. They have it all! Mouth watering breakfasts, delicious dinners and tasty cocktails. The friendliest staff and a warm atmosphere. The menu has a wide variety of choices for everyone and they even have weekly specials! Fat zebra has all that I need when heading out for a meal. Definitely recommend!

The Fat Zebra is located in 71 7th St, Linden, Randburg, 2195. The desserts were the highlight for me more than the lunch menu. We ordered crème brûlée with a torched crust, cheesecake with caramel popcorn scattered on the plate, pavlova served with strawberries and cream was delectable and the brownies and ice- cream was a hit at our table but unfortunately they ran out and could not serve more than 2 people with this option. We enjoyed complimentary ice- cream for the birthday lady in a pleasant atmosphere.

I had a good experience my partner not so much, I’ve been here before and had better experiences, just reviewing this one. I still recommend it, experiences differ. I enjoyed my dish. I ordered The Cowboy it was a hearty meal and a sizeable portion which I didn’t finish. The place has good vibes perfect for breakfast and brunch everyone always looks like they coming from some form of exercise lol. That day service took long, it was mid month so maybe they under calculated their staffing. My partner had the creamy ciabatta with egg she was disappointed as her egg wasn’t to her liking and little was done to resolve that which knocked the service. It’s Affordable . My meal was R105 and a big portion my partners R70

Lovely hidden gem in Linden. Lovely vibe and good food. Oh and the coffee is amazing. Fat Zebra makes my top 5 list of places to eat.

Well done guys! That was a delicious breakfast. Great coffee and really lovely flavors. My only complaints were not enough syrup on the waffles when they claim to be 'soaked' and creme fraiche on the flapjacks was no where to be found. Don't be shy with that stuff! Presentation was a 10.

Glenda's is a popular and charming restaurant known for its quality food, retro design elements, and beautiful bucolic murals that make it perfect for social media. The menu offers breakfast, light lunches, high tea with baked goods, and dinner using seasonal produce from local farmers. The owner, Glenda, decorates the place with fresh flowers and creates seasonal menus along with changing cakes and pastries on display.
Clean colourful and vibrant cafe. Great for brunch and lunch and afternoon drinks after work. Decor is light and colourful. Inside is best for meetings and lunch. Outside area best for drink catch-ups and sunny breakfasts. Delicious assortment of cakes, croissants and brownies. A bit on the pricey side, but the food quality and atmosphere makes up for it. For breakfast, try the Eggs in Purgatory dish. Better than a shakshuka.

Have only just discovered Glenda’s in Hyde Square! Fabulous atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious food . I had the banting eggs benedict & green juice, both of which were delicious! My friend had a toasted cheese which also looked delicious. I won’t even get started on the cakes …! Yum!

Dinner date with May. First visit for both of us. Beautifully decorated restaurant with colorful walls curated cleverly with flowery wallpaper in certain areas. The staff was very friendly and on top of their duties all evening, serving with a smile and knowledge of the menu. We were surprised with cheese puffs( on the house) to kick off the evening. We enjoyed our evening, and the food was good and portions generous.

From the moment we walked into Glenda’s, we were warmly welcomed with complimentary drinks that instantly set the tone for a great Birthday breakfast. It’s rare to find a place that blends charm, comfort, and elegance so effortlessly, but Glenda’s manages to do just that. The food was absolutely delicious, thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Each dish felt like it was made with intention and care, and it’s clear the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. Our experience was made even better thanks to the exceptional service from our waiter, Samuel. He was attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly taken care of throughout our visit. It’s not often that service stands out this much, but Samuel was a real highlight of the morning. Glenda’s is definitely a place I’d recommend for anyone looking for great food, warm hospitality, and an overall memorable dining experience.

This place is beautiful, the ambiance and also the food was so tasty. The owner, Glenda, is a beautiful person. The staff was super friendly and their service was out of this world. I had a hot salmon salad and I thoroughly enjoyed it, let me not forget the reasonable prices of food and drinks. Location is perfect if you are look for a serene and easy to access place.
Sthembile B — Google review
Glenda’s is my go-to local where I take people that I like! I am never disappointed by the eclectic and colorful furnishing or the warm “come in, sit down and get a load off” greeting or the always excellently prepared food and libations on offer. When Claudia flies from the USA to visit, when Mr Jane needs an oasis to fuel his creative spirit, or when I simply need a friendly place for a get-it-off-your-chest chat with Pinky, then Glenda’s is a no-Brainer. Nhlanhla will remember your favourite drinks and preferred dishes and Baba always has time to check on your wellbeing. Service is slick and the specials board a lovely surprise, usually of seafood in season. The preparation of the sea bass is sublime and the mussels in wine so very fresh and more-ish. Sunday lunches are reminiscent of childhood with roast chicken, crispy pork belly, a glass of bubbly and the ring of warm laughter. Talking about bubbly, you can order by the glass! Good wine by the glass? Definitely. Not forgetting the cocktails and Glenda’s special margarita. Yes! But be warned, it has a kick like a mule. Cakes are an interestingly diverse selection. The petit fours are divine, and the pastry chef knows her choux from her short. All kinds of brownies and sometimes fruit bread too depending on availability. Try them all!

The reason they lose 2 stars is due to the service received. It was a quiet morning and the welcome was pleasant, however the waitress who eventually served us was not up to standard. She was very robot like not showing any emotion whatsoever. When we asked her to return to take our orders, she took forever and had to keep on trying to get her attention. Eventually when she came we placed orders and I was very clear on the type of eggs I wanted. The wait time was a bit long I felt and eventually when the food came, my eggs were opposite to what I wanted. I asked for Sunnyside up eggs but I got over easy. The waitress was careless in serving me what I didn't want and only after explaining to her what she should have done in the first place, she offered to remake , but i didn't want to wait another 10 minutes so just ate them as it came. My wife on the other hand enjoyed her meal so as for the quality of food, comfort of the restaurant, ambiance, and decor, this rating should have been 5 star.

I always Glenda’s tricky. It’s always a mixed experience. Lovely setting but poor service especially when you sit outside. I always expect a premium experience but basic expectations aren’t met like prompt service or frequent check-ins. The food was decent. The fish cake was delicious. And the pancakes afterwards was lovely. The asparagus, eggs and truffle was just okay. But sitting outside in the sun and people watching is always welcome. Slowing down the pace of life just a few meters from a fast paced Jan Smuts Avenue.

Old school, quality dining at its very best. Everything from authentic leather menus, to creaking wooden floors, to pressed ceilings. The prices are above average. The quality, service and experience though, are world class.

We had a Sunday brunch there. What a lovely morning under the trees. It felt like we were in the country at an old manor house. Plus, you get to walk the campus a little if you choose. And if you didn't go to Wits but are older than a certain age, you may even be able to feel like you were walking under the cable car of the Rand Easter show up to watch Gonda Betrix at the grand stand.

Olives and Plates is one of those rare places that gets everything right — ambiance, food, service, and that elusive touch of soul that makes you want to come back before you’ve even left. Tucked away amidst the historic charm of Wits University and scattered across a few beautiful locations in Johannesburg, this café-restaurant hybrid offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu that’s both generous and thoughtful. Whether you’re grabbing a quick smoothie, settling in for a long lunch, or hosting a celebration, it feels effortlessly elegant without ever being pretentious. Let’s talk about the food — absolutely stellar. Their Mediterranean mezze platters are vibrant and fresh, and the lamb shank is slow-cooked to perfection, falling off the bone in the most satisfying way. Vegetarians and vegans aren’t an afterthought here either; dishes like the roasted vegetable couscous and quinoa salad are packed with flavor and creativity. And don’t get me started on their desserts — the baklava and honeycomb cheesecake are indulgent enough to write home about. The setting is equally impressive: think lush greenery, white-washed walls, and a peaceful, almost European courtyard vibe that makes it feel like a mini escape from the hustle of Joburg. Every detail — from the crockery to the decor — is curated with care. Staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in your experience. Even during busy times, service feels personal and unrushed. Whether you're a Joburg local or just passing through, Olives and Plates is more than just a restaurant — it’s an experience. One that leaves you full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

Proud Mary is a chic wine bar and all-day eatery located in the vibrant suburb of Rosebank in Johannesburg. The restaurant boasts a minimalist, modernist design and offers a diverse menu featuring locally sourced ingredients. From champagne and mushroom risotto to coal-fired rock lobster, the dishes are paired with an extensive selection of predominantly local wines. Chef Marc Robert Proenca leads the culinary experience, offering small plates as well as cafe and bistro-style options.
Wow! Just wow! My friends and I loved everything - very impressed with the taste and presentation of the food. From the oysters, the milk bun, the seafood pasta and the surprise birthday cake slice that the waitress arranged for me. 👏🏻 We left with full and satisfied bellies :) well done Proud Mary team! We will definitely be back!

Charming aesthetics but the food was unfortunately subpar. We had a nice breakfast but that’s difficult to go wrong. Dinner was a letdown, the burrata is minuscule in portion, and the steaks - we initially ordered a T Bone but had that returned as it was extremely chewy and sinewy, felt like freezer burn. Replaced it with a picanha but that too was badly charred and dry.

The food has been amazing. The servings massive. We’ve tried dining in, room service, cafe, breakfast. It’s all been delicious! I would only recommend saying that you want the bacon extra crispy coz if not it can be a bit soggy. The price is also great for the quality. But then again we are coming from Switzerland so everything is a great deal here. Especially the prawns! PEUGOT salt and pepper grinders are a nice touch. They are the original inventors of the modern S&P grinders.

The burrata salad with raspberry dressing was really delicious ! The fillet steak was good but not incredible. I definitely recommend and will be back. It would be better if the restaurant had a wider selection of range by the bottle, there are many choices but they’re all in the same price range 100-140R. It would be nice if they had a few more special options by the glass

We hosted a close friends birthday here. It was 13 guests. I'm not sure if they've catered for a large group before because there were some issues with our orders (forgetting a drink & meal here and there), however was compensated with how awesome the waiters were they were ready to jump and serve when called. The pizza with avo and beef was very delicious but the chicken wings were a little dry and bland. The ribs were saucy and tender, very delicious and the chips were well prepared. The long island had a good balance too. They moved the furniture around for us, we played games, music was adjusted when we needed to have it adjust. Patisserie de Paris is a charming French-inspired bakery located in Blairgowrie. The owner, Paul Zwick, honed his skills in French patisserie by studying at prestigious culinary institutions and interning at Michelin-starred restaurants in France and Switzerland. The bakery offers a variety of freshly baked breads, including renowned baguettes, as well as croissants and cakes.
Incredible!! Finding a piece of heaven at Patisserie de Paris. My hot chocolate was creamy, rich and sweet, very good. The croque monsieur was one of the highlights of my morning, totally delectable!! Of course I just had to ask for the dessert menu. And then came the dreaded question... would you like to see our patisseries and cakes on display ma'am? Heck yeah... I think I ran faster than an olympic 100m gold medalist. But choosing which of these divine desserts should accompany me back to my table is the same as doing a multiple answer question in your final exam. A? B? C or ooohh more than one? The impressive Mississippi mud pie was the winner. 100% delight. J'ai adoré hmmmm. I was already planning what to try next time I come here. The staff are all incredible, friendly and helpful. Welcoming smiles from all... definitely not french hehehe. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Been wanting to try this place for about 3 years. My thoughts as follows:: What a charming little bakery, early morning sun peeping through the large windows makes for a delightful atmosphere. Other than the locals that quickly stop here for an early morning take-away coffee and pastry, so be there early to ensure you don't loose out; there is a wonderful, quiet indoor seating area for a sit-down meal too. My ratings on the baked goods:: Baguette - 10/10 (better than Woolies) Custard puff - 10/10 (my favourite) Almond Croissant - 10/10 nice surprise to have marzipan in the middle. Ham & Cheese Croissant- 10/10 (needs to be warmed up a little at home though) Pan au raisin - 9.5/10 Peach Danish - 9/10 (The large peach is quite daunting to eat. Perhaps one could find a way to thinly slice the peach, lay across the danish and use blow torch to caramelize?) Cheese Croissant - 9/10 (just warm up at home) Chocolate Croissant - 8.5/10 (more of a Nutella tasting chocolate inside, which is nice, other than the "traditional") Plain Butter Croissant - 7.5/10 (fresh and decent size, but lacked the buttery flavour and flaky/laminated/airy pastry. Texture was more like a roll) Pain au chocolat - 6/10 (pretty dry and lacked flavour) Prices are reasonable.

I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family with an appetite for European food. The unique decor gives the place a friendly, French ambience. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The food was served simply, but appetisingly and creatively. I loved the beautifully, neat cursive in which the menu was written on a large blackboard. The only unfortunate experience was the waiter forgot to bring cold milk for my husband's coffee on both occasions. However, he was quick to bring it when reminded to do so. The service was good considering the restaurant was busy due to it being Mother's Day.

un magnifique petit déjeuner 🥐🌟 Great service, amazing atmosphere, exceptional food. Well worth the stop. Elegant in its simplicity, from the background music to the specialist deli items, just enough to take you to foreign destination. Fairly priced, next time I’ll try the famous baked cheesecake, but my Lyon breakfast was truly delicious, thank you!

Went out to enjoy a pre valentines breakfast with a French style. So I was not as too impressed but it was nice-ich morning out. The music was a bit morbid, and my croque monsieur was not as nice as I would have hoped, too rich and heavy. My wife, however, did enjoy the quiche and the cute bowls of salad and chips. For R50, she had a full meal. Their bakery was small, but it looked so yummy. The Chocolate Croissants was extremely yummy.

A slice of Paris in the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg. Patisserie de Paris as the name suggests is a Pastry Shop/Bakery in Blairgowrie. The establishment is in a residential area and from the decor looks to be a bit dated which adds to the charm of the place. The bakery has pink walls with some graffiti pointing to days and memories of sitting under an umbrella sipping coffee and enjoying a Croissant while watching people in Paris. The bakery offers a range of baked goods including cakes, croissants, tarts, rolls etc. I saw the establishment is very popular for breakfast with patrons enjoying beautifully plated food. I was also impressed by the number of people dropping by to pick up their daily bread and other baked goods. The gig workers from Uber and Mr D were also making multiple rounds of the establishment. It’s impossible to try all the baked goods on offer so tried a few including their croissants and a pain au raisin and a peach tart. Everything was superb in my opinion. Service was friendly and food came out quick. If you’re sitting inside they also have a book shelf to enjoy a book while waiting for your food. The bakery is licensed and offers a selection of alcoholic drinks. On Sundays they offer bottomless mimosas for R 175. They also have a small pop up at Bryanston Organic Market on Saturday and Thursday with a limited selection of their baked goods. Parking on the street is free but a little limited. Highly recommended for a visit or two to savour their baked goods

Gias on Montrose Cafe & Pizzeria is a hidden gem in Sandton, located at Montrose Nursery. It provides a peaceful escape from the city where you can enjoy brunch or lunch surrounded by lush greenery. The menu includes a variety of hot drinks, hearty breakfast options like grilled smoked salmon and eggs, fresh salads, and delicious desserts such as their signature baked cheesecake.

Nice setting next to the nursery with its own small little garden with water bowls for dogs. The tables are a little bit too wobbly so some spills are inevitable with your coffee. The breakfast was well presented.

Casual coffee shop vibe, they are busy with a play area for. Cosy atmosphere, garden seating. A bit of nature in Sandton. Food is good, caters for most palates, about 6 vegetarian dishes.
Nina M — Google review
I'll start with the witty menu, because of the pop culture references. Because they missed the opportunity to name the eggs Benedict (Cumberbatch) but if you're old enough you'll get the references to Jane Fonda etc. What a lovely setting for a light meal! We got a table and parasol outside amongst the manicured hedges and grapevines, but you can choose to eat inside the bright and airy cafe if that's more your style. Service is great, friendly and efficient. What really captured my eye was the plating and attention to detail of the food. I haven't seen flower shaped fried eggs anywhere else and the hollandaise sauce on my eggs Benedict was absolutely perfect, in texture and flavour. The atmosphere is definitely giving 'stay as long as you please' as there is a well stocked bookshelf, free WiFi and places for you to plug in your devices. If you're more interested in the nursery, you could spend a few good hours there too.

The food was tasty and the coffee was so good it felt like I finished it in one slurp. Their homemade food is delicious and the surrounding nursery is incredibly beautiful. I had the burger and although it was very tasty, I found that the bun got very soggy and lost its structure very quickly. Other than that it was a good meal and I enjoyed the environment. Staff were also friendly.

My friend and I visited Gia's on Montrose on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Upon entering there is a nursery with a variety of plants and flowers to choose from. My mum would love it. The weather was weathering, lol. I love the outdoor setup and the distance between the tables in the garden is perfect. We enjoyed the peaceful ambience. The tables are terrible. I ordered the Lamb Chops and my friend had the Chicken and Mayo Tramazzini. The food was just good and the overall service was okay.

Nestled in the heart of Johannesburg, Croft & Co is a vibrant coffee shop, bar, and restaurant that effortlessly combines rustic charm with a warm atmosphere. The exposed brick and wooden decor create an inviting ambiance complemented by cozy fireplaces and captivating wall art. This bustling spot attracts early risers and midday workers alike, filling the air with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
I tried Croft & Co on Tuesday, as I was looking for a place to work from. I came back on Wednesday and Thursday because 1) the service is impeccable. The staff is friendly and attentive, yet you aren’t bothered; 2) The food is great, and portion sizes are generous (I’ve had the works burger, fries, chicken livers, and coffee). I paid between R190-R305 with tip; 3) There is free WiFi, a designated co-working section (tables for 2 and 4, as well as a long communicable table) at the back of the restaurant equipped with plugs and plenty of space for a remote set up. Additionally, the bathrooms are modern, and clean. I definitely see myself being a regular here. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a change of environnement, and a remote working space with actual plug points (very rare in Johannesburg).

Don’t be deceived by the tables being occupied outside. There is sufficient space inside too. My new favorite shakshuka destination and my wife had the veggie breakfast. Great food. Amazing value for money and really good service. If there is one down side, that would be the seating for two people is rather cramped. This place is busy and every bit of space is utilized But once you sit down and get your food you quickly forget about the other people around you and you get down to business.

Lovely shatsuka and coffee after arriving from the UK. Efficient and friendly service. Highly recommended. Went several times. Never disappointed!

The worst I have ever been treated by staff in my entire dining experience. The cafe closes at 15:00. We walked in at 14:30 - unaware of their closing time. We were ushered in but told we can only order from the drinks menu as the kitchen is closed. This was not the problem as we only wanted something to drink. However, the staff treated us as an absolute burden. Our drinks were ordered with barely any time given to choose, not even five minutes. We were served by three separate waitresses each with an equally bad attitude and manurism. Closing etiquette clearly does not exist at this establishment - whatever you do don't go after 14:00. Our bill was brought to us without us asking for it. The waitress rushed off before we could even ask her for a takeaway cup for one of our drinks. I have never been met with so much animosity by staff - worst experience of my life.

This is the most incredible cafe with fantastic atmosphere in a beautiful neighbourhood. The food is always fresh and delicious. Staff are so friendly and efficient. Love this place!!!

Great atmosphere. Good place to sit and work while having your coffee or tea. The food is great too with good portions. They also open by 6 am.

Croft & Co is the quintessential coffee stop for any cyclist or runner in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. They are open from 5am during the week, which makes a convenient stop for cyclists and runners to grab a cup of coffee before heading home. Additionally, your bike is expertly guarded by Brian who also offers a wash service on weekends. It's a fantastic restaurant with tables that look out on to the beautiful leafy streets surrounding the Zoo Lake area. The coffee is fantastic and they also do a delicious chocolate milkshake. The banana bread (ask for it to be extra toasty - trust me on this one) is spectacular. The rest of the menu is also superb with the breakfast burger and breakfast bun being firm favourites. Friendly service, always with a smile. The energy of the owners is also infectious. It's just a lekker place to be. Simply put, in Johannesburg, no one does the early morning café stop like Croft & Co. An absolute institution.

Love the decor which is a mixture of steam punk and antiques. A wide menu with delicious food and very friendly service. A nice pub area too. Loved it. A good place for breakfast, lunch, tea or spending a happy afternoon.

Spilt Milk - Social Cafe in Melville is a heavenly spot with an inviting atmosphere and friendly staff that make you feel right at home. The customizable menu adds to the charm, allowing for a personalized dining experience. The delicious meals, such as the breakfast waffle, are a highlight, and the relaxed backyard seating area is perfect for socializing or working with its fast WiFi and charging ports.
This place is great. My friend and I decided to have a look when walking around Johannesburg. Our waitress was kind and friendly, helpful too. The place has a nice vibe to it. It's kind of central. The food was exquisite (at least my dish was). My friend said his was bland. This is definitely a restaurant I'd recommend.

Spilt Milk is a must-visit spot. The workers are incredibly friendly, which makes for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The meals are amazing and super delicious, with the breakfast waffle being a personal favorite. The backyard sitting area is perfect for friend groups, with its relaxed atmosphere and comfortable seating. It's a great spot for working or studying with fast, unlimited WiFi and charging ports. The cafe is surprisingly quiet, making it a conducive environment for productivity. Overall, Spilt Milk is a great spot for a delicious meal, friendly service, and a peaceful ambiance. I highly recommend it.

Their drinks are really good and affordable. Food was okay. Didn't enjoy the wrap as it kept falling apart and the pineapple salsa didn't taste fresh . My friend enjoyed their avo bagel. Enjoyed the dessert most. We got it on the house as thr waiter forgot to put the order in and we waited a long time. Appreciated the gesture. Great service from the young gentleman.
Pamella I — Google review
We were very excited to try out this spot because of the other reviews but we left disappointed. The service was slow despite the place not being very busy, there was no communication from the staff on food delays or substitutions and the food itself was just average. Perhaps the breakfast or dinner slots are a better time to go, lesson learned.
Linda M — Google review
We went on a very quiet Monday afternoon, but the service was incredibly slow. I waited 15 minutes for my order to be taken, and the food took yet another 20-25 minutes. What was confusing is that our food came out at the same time as a couple that had only arrived 10 minutes ago. The food was good, but the patty on my burger was a bit underseasoned - nothing a crack of salt & pepper couldn't fix though. I LOVED the courtyard, very beautiful and rustic setting. It's a perfect spot for breakfast and lunch. Overall not a bad experience

Such a cute and awesome little cafe! Not only is the food good, it so is, but the whole atmosphere has this welcoming vibe that's so hard to find these days and the staff have a genuine friendliness that made even this first timer feel welcomed and part of the family! A true gem!

This place serves amazing breakfast and it is really affordable. The service was impeccable, the food was really fresh. Our waiter recommended the sour dough toast and I had never tried it before, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Really a great space for group and family outings.

Today was my first time, first viewed on Instagram. It has a vintage appeal, staff with a great sense of humour, I had as a starter a Macadamia Cortado double shot espresso, divine and for mains the Spilt Burger bunless with a side salad. The pictures did not lie the real thing was even better. Centrally situated in Mellville. If you haven't tried, try you must. I look forward to returning and trying some of the other goodies on offer. Thank you Spilt Milk for an enjoyable experience.

Pablo House is a chic and art-filled guesthouse located in one of Johannesburg's coolest neighborhoods. The excellent value rate is the final clincher, as is the staff's helpful and friendly demeanor. Rooms are clean and modern with elevated views, en suite bathrooms and coffee/tea availability. There's also an eatery on site.
Super place. Leigh and her team are awesome, and of the many plates of food we sampled over our stay, I couldn't fault a single one. They were all super tasty, and delicious.
Kayo G — Google review
The place is cute and staff is super friendly! The menu is super limited, there is no vegan option unless you insist to change something in the original menu. Restricted mocktail options, too. The view is stunning. If you have any dietary restrictions, eat before going there. It’s a nice place to hang out!
Katucha B — Google review
We went to eat out . Great place people friendly environment. Only issue the chips fried in beef tallow . Definitely a no no. Please consider cooking oil as some clients dont consome beef and beef related products . Extremely helpful and friendly staff.
Bulk B — Google review
Pablo House has a great location and is beautifully and creatively decorated — a really charming place to stay. The breakfast was excellent, with the best shakshuka I’ve ever had. A couple of small notes: it would be nice to have air conditioning in all rooms, and for the bathroom to have a door to keep the smell contained. We stayed in Room 6, which was lovely but required climbing quite a few stairs with luggage since there’s no elevator. Overall, a very enjoyable stay with fantastic food and atmosphere.

Beautiful views. The service was exceptional. Our starters and mains were very good. Out deserts were disastrous! Our first batch of brownies were burnt to a crisp and still arribed at our table. Our second batch were just short of burnt, so mildly better The bathroom situation isn't great either. The menu is also very overpriced. Overall a rating of 3 is fair based on our experience.
Tracy P — Google review
I was very disappointed with this restaurant. We went there to celebrate my birthday, and the experience was underwhelming. The food is exorbitantly priced for the quality you receive. We ordered lamb chops, which were unappetising and bland. We ended up wasting a lot of money on food that was far from enjoyable. You can imagine the disappointment in all of this. To make matters worse, the restaurant only has one toilet for all guests, which is quite inconvenient.

Pantry by Marble - Sasol Rosebank is a unique 24-hour deli concept located at Keyes Art Mile, offering a variety of grocery items, pastries, ice cream, pizza, and coffee for on-the-go convenience. It has quickly become a popular spot for coffee enthusiasts and those in need of essential items any time of the day or night.
i recently visited pantry and everything was amazing~!! from the baguettes to the tarts i was amazed hehe i ordered the salmon baguette and it was just perfect! the salmon portion was crazy for the price~ the berry tart was so flavourful as well~ i also ordered the matcha freezo which was the perfect way to end off the meal~ my fam got pizza, the beef burger, the prego roll and a chicken mayo baguette, it was all of the highest quality~! when walking through the shop you'll notice all the unique pantry items like oreo cereal for example. it truly is an experience it's just a little cramped tho but other than that everything was good definitely will be back~

Pantry by Marble at Rosebank is a vibrant, stylish spot that blends the feel of a gourmet grocer with a modern café. The space is beautifully designed, bright, and inviting, making it as much a place to linger as it is to shop or dine. The food is fresh, creative, and consistently well-executed — from pastries and light bites to heartier mains, everything carries a touch of refinement. Service is warm and efficient, and the overall vibe strikes a nice balance between casual and upscale. A great choice whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee, enjoying a leisurely meal, or picking up something special to take home.
Paul L — Google review
These burgers are the best I've had - the standard beef burger. Let me not waste time saying that! They use fresh ingredients - but it's not bland. The sauce needs to be bottled and sold! Those sweet and savoury chips slap! Have to try other menu items now. Anyway, live the casual vibe here and that you can get anything and if you are dressed up and change your mind you can call for a reservation and head up to Marble restaurant if it's not peak time. Have tried the pastries with a previous visit, wouldn't try again but would eat that burger EVERYTIME I craved a burger. If you struggle to park, go around the block and go down stairs.
Kholo M — Google review
⭐ General Overview If you’re ever in Rosebank and want to step into a space that feels like a curated Pinterest board come to life, Pantry by Marble is it. Located right at the Sasol Filling Station on Jan Smuts Ave, this spot is effortlessly chic, modern, and a total gem whether you’re grabbing something on the go or sitting down for a quick break. They offer a wide variety of options, from fresh pastries and artisanal sandwiches to smoothies, milkshakes, and hot drinks. It’s a space that works for everyone — solo visits, coffee catch-ups, or quick family stops. The only drawback is the parking — since it’s at a petrol station, parking is limited and can be tricky, especially during peak times. I didn’t drive on the day I visited, but I could see how finding a spot might take a bit of patience. ⸻ 🌿 Atmosphere The atmosphere is one of the biggest highlights. It’s aesthetically beautiful — clean, curated, and designed with intention. Think minimalist elegance with warm, welcoming touches. It has a calm but stylish energy that makes it feel like an escape, even though it’s tucked inside a busy service station. Whether you’re sitting inside or just browsing the shelves, it feels elevated. Definitely a space you’ll want to take pictures in — and maybe a few selfies while you’re at it. ⸻ 🍽️ Food & Drinks The food selection is impressive for such a compact space. They’ve got: • Freshly made sandwiches and wraps • Pastries and baked goods • Ice cream for a sweet treat • Smoothies, milkshakes, and a selection of hot drinks It’s ideal for a light bite, a coffee run, or even picking up something quick before hitting the road. Everything looked fresh and thoughtfully put together. Presentation is a big deal here — and they do it well. ⸻ 🤝 Service Service was friendly and efficient. Despite the flow of people coming in and out, the staff handled things with ease. I felt welcomed, and even though it’s a “grab-and-go” type of setup, there’s a sense of calm and care in how everything’s run. ⸻ 👶🏽 Kid-Friendliness Surprisingly kid-friendly! The ice cream counter alone makes it a hit with little ones, and the layout is easy to navigate even with a stroller or toddler in tow. It’s not a play space, but it’s inviting enough for a quick stop with kids — and the sweet treats don’t hurt either. ⸻ 🥛 Dietary Restrictions One thing to note — they didn’t have non-dairy options available when I visited. This was a bit of a letdown, especially since so many people are either lactose-intolerant or dairy-free by choice these days. If you’re vegan or avoiding dairy, your drink options may be limited, so keep that in mind when planning a visit. ⸻ Final Thoughts Would I go back? Absolutely. Already planning my next visit. It’s a stylish, well-thought-out spot that brings a little luxury to everyday stops. Just be prepared for parking challenges and maybe call ahead to check on non-dairy options if that’s a need. ✔️ Aesthetic & beautiful ✔️ Variety of food and drink options ✔️ Ice cream = kid-approved ✖️ Parking is a challenge ✖️ No dairy-free milk options (yet)

It’s a unique garage shop with lots of delicious food, desserts etc. The atmosphere is great and it’s busy. Parking was a bit of challenge to find but it’s on Keyes ave if you can’t find a spot in the garage area. We went during a weekend so with the offices near by, it may be busier during the week.

The world of modern retail is changing as we speak. Decades ago retailers had the power. Today it is consumers who have the power. The power to shop what we like, whenever we like, wherever we like, be it on our couches watching TV! Myself, together with my circle of family and friends visit stores for the experience. Being emotional shoppers, we are navigated by knowledgeable individuals who take the time to build and create deeper connections with us as shoppers. Many people do not realize that by turning customers into local advocates we end up paying more for the exceptional service and seamlessness. I am from Cape Town and visited your Pantry store a few days ago for the very first time. I was approached by Mohamed who im sure could tell by our body language that we were new and didn't know where to begin. He introduced himself as a Manager of the store and for our first time recommended what he called a "holistic Approach" to the store visit. Being an absolute master of the entire product range, right down to the ingredients, he started asking probing questions to enable him to make suitable offerings and recommendations. He started by taking us to the pasty section and gave us each a complimentary Lulu. He advised that this is one of the top iconic items of the store and customers buy these by the dozen. We were taken aback by the light fluffiness and ordered 12 of those. Next he took us to the Marble Foccacia and insisted we dipped it in your in-house lemon garlic butter and olive oil. Mohamed ensured the 2 we took were wrapped up properly in cling wrap. He even advised that because it has been sliced, it can be placed in zip lock bags and will be just as fresh when ready to use kn lightly toasting it. The pistacio croissants were up next and once again He insisted we had one on the house. He promised that these were the tastiest item on that table and truth be told, they really were. We took 6 of them! We asked about one or 2 other items and this is what awed me, Mohamed politely said "Ma'am , I haven't tasted that however I have noticed that customers tend to not purchase it as much or 'i have tired them, however I personally would rather go for something else. Authentic selling is a rare find in retail. And the significance of authentic selling is so underrated. We as customers trust, value and appreciate you more by selling with your heart. Mohamed is one such individual who sells with his heart. Not for any profitable gain, but for the pure enjoyment of the customer looking to be amazed and tantalized. He took us on a story telling of the wood fired pizza from the flour to the milling to the mozzarella and why its the most Italian tasting pizza you will taste in JHB. We were then brought small scoops of your famous Dubai icecream with the sauce which was the highlight of our visit. Mohamed insisted we take home a Tony's Chocolate and Hazelnut bar, of which he gave a money back guarantee , promising it was the best I would have tasted... all the way from Belgium. And indeed it was. These are the experiences I live for. The experiences that linger, the experiences Im excited to relate to others. Well Done Mohamed! You touched and captivated me like no one before!

What an incredible experience! From the best pizzas to the amazing coffee and ice cream. Everything was exceptional. But what truly made the visit memorable was the staff and the atmosphere they create. Everyone is so friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. You can really feel the team spirit, from the managers who personally check in to make sure everything’s perfect, to the staff who go above and beyond. A special shoutout to Nadia!!!!🌞🥳 an absolute gem with the brightest smile! She goes out of her way to make every visit special. Thank you for such a wonderful experience . easily one of the best places in Joburg! 🌟🍕☕🍦

It was our 2nd visit on a Sunday and it was just as excellent as the first. The drinks come in different colours and taste divine. The waitresses are super friendly and brought our orders quickly. The food was absolutely delicious!! And the decor I'd amazing. Great way to keep kids entertained. Well done owners and staff for running such a gem!

Here’s a refined version of your review: Goddess Coffee, Linden – A Pink Paradise of Elegance and Indulgence Stepping into Goddess Coffee in Linden feels like entering a dream—an all-pink celebration of beauty, decadence, and Instagram-worthy charm. Every inch of the space is meticulously designed, with detail-oriented décor that sets the perfect backdrop for a luxurious dining experience. But it’s not just about the aesthetics. Cakes, cakes, and more cakes—each one a masterpiece, both visually stunning and utterly delectable. Whether you’re here for a lavish high tea (yes, tick that off your list!) or a fine dining experience, the menu is a deluxe affair, carefully crafted for indulgence. The scones were a standout—moist, perfectly balanced in sweetness, and elevated by a refreshing mint touch that made the strawberry topping sing. Every detail, from plating to flavor pairings, exceeded expectations, proving that Goddess Coffee is where flavor, elegance, and beauty meet in perfect harmony. If you’re looking for a place that blends sophistication with indulgence, this is it. Attended my sisters baby shower here. I’ve always wanted to try this place and it did not disappoint. They have the biggest menu with everything sounding so delightful. This place does specialize in fresh produce with no meat but I love the innovation that replaces not eating meat. I tried their breakfast protein bowl with poached eggs. It was so flavorful, full of protein, healthy fats and carbs. So many different textures and deliciousness! I literally fell in love with fresh earth coming to try their smoothie and doughnut for a quick pick me up fun breakfast. Never in my life have I tried the most special doughnut and what a plus that it has health benefits. The dough was so perfectly soft and chewy and the peanut butter white chocolate icing was so smooth with a crunch and perfectly sweet! Wow wow wow. Their smoothies are also lovely, best peanut butter protein one I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to come here again and try more!!

Really great food and the waiters are super friendly and accommodating. I once accidentally left my cellphone in the bathroom and one of the waiters was quick to collect it and keep it for me when I came back for it. Just a really lovely vibe overall. The only thing that has ever dampened my experience here is that twice now I've seen what seems to be the owner come in and cuss out the waitstaff in front of customers. Just a super awkward experience for everyone and seems really unnecessary. Other than that I've never had a bad experience here, and I'd recommend the zuchinni fries as a fun snack any day!

Food is tasty, and appears to have gotten better. Some interesting combinations, and recent additions to the menu. Can be seen to be on the pricey side which is fine, but sometimes portions are sparse. Particularly something like the toast. One slice is just not enough. The service is not good at all, the numerous times I have been there. No two ways about it. Not just at my table, but with neighbouring patrons can see the lack of interest shown by the waiters, even in the early mornings / beginning of the day. So this is a major development area for them. [update] their service appears to have improved. Not quite there, but strides have been made. Pleasant environment as dogs are also allowed. Can be a bit noisy if it gets full, [update] this is purely from the set up of the establishment and not patrons or staff. Toilet facilities appear to be out of service due to water shortage, but at least have facilities for washing of hands. The empty sanitisers aren’t helping much. Can suggest more tea options, would expect a bit more variety considering the nature of the store. [update] suggestions include mint, ginger and lemon tea. Perhaps even hibiscus. Would be a definite hit.

Tashas is always a winner. Thank you to our server, Ryan, who made it extra special with his friendliness! The food was outstanding, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. The Greek coffee was interesting to try.
Maryke F — Google review
I tried one of their burgers for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious! The portions were generous, and that meal has stayed on my mind ever since and I can’t wait to go back. However, if you’re visiting Tashas in Rosebank, I’d recommend sitting indoors. The outdoor seating has a bit of a fly issue, which can be uncomfortable. In my case, a bee even landed in my pina colada. Despite this, the overall experience was still great, and the food remains top-notch!🩷

Steak house
Restaurant
The Bull Run is an esteemed steakhouse located in Sandton, Johannesburg. Since its establishment in 2000, it has gained a reputation for offering top-quality prime cut meats including pork, beef, lamb, venison, and ostrich. The restaurant's bare-brick interior exudes rustic charm while maintaining an upscale ambiance with crisp white linens and professional service.
Awesome experience at The Bull Run! Reservations had to be made quickly for Valentine's day as the establishment is immensely popular. Clement, Lulu and Daniel was super helpful from start to end. Food was great, service to the T and the overall experience was wonderful. Will definately be back again!
Cj J — Google review
The Bull Run is classed as a New York Steakhouse Restaurant. The vibe definitely fits in with the description. Outside is a life-size brass bull (representing the stock market). Inside has a warm, classy feeling with friendly waitrons. There is a varied cocktail menu. The wait for the main meal wasn't long at all and the food was scrumptiously delicious 😋 . A fairly expensive outing but worthwhile.
Pierre M — Google review
What a beautiful restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the service impeccable. I was staying at the hotel and with that ate there two nights in a row. The second night, the waiter welcomed me back and even asked if I wanted to sit where I was the previous day, pointing at my table from the previous night. He wasn’t even my waiter the previous night so the fact that he remembered was quite amazing. They have tables outside on Maude street yet despite how busy the street can be, it still felt secluded and cozy enough. Inside you have beautiful spaces to sit. The one area in particular intrigued me where it looked like the table top was resting on books. Unfortunately there were people seated there so I couldn’t take photos. For my first night I had an amazing strawberry daiquiri and crumbed hot honey chicken with a huge baked potato and sour cream. My second night I had a refreshing Stella and their sundried tomato and butternut risotto with toasted pine nuts. Every bite was a treat. Definitely my go to when I travel again.

It's one of the best places in Sandton. It's part of Protea Balalaika. Everything is good in this place. Wide variety of food options and liquor.

Lovely chilled afternoon lunch with mates. Beers were called, starters was delectable and the main was extremely huge!!! The massive burger had me stuffed. Cut into 4 and it was still enormous. Excellent service and well worth the time and visit. Definitely would return.

Nice place, delicious food and kind staff. We had a lovely dinner. It's situated right next to the Protea hotel with an indoor entrance.
Milan ( — Google review
As a local, I've seen better, food is not wow, even though the calamari starter was real delicious and filling, had a kingklip for the main and it was tough and not tasteful. The place is outdated inside but well located as it's adjacent to a hotel. The waiters are attentive with not much engagement.
Gary S — Google review
If you’re in Sandton and in search of steak perfection, look no further than The Bull Run. Whether it’s rump, rib-eye or a good ol’ fillet, they know how to do meat justice. My friend ordered a steak with pepper sauce on the side and honestly, I had food envy. That was a work of art. But then again, had I not ordered the cheeseburger, we wouldn’t have experienced the absolute Saturday night symphony that it was. Flavour, balance, indulgence and ticks all the boxes. A special shoutout to the bar for whipping up an off-the-menu Old Fashioned, smooth, strong and balanced. It wasn’t just dinner. It was a vibe.

We both had different cuts of steak. Best we’ve had in a while. Views was spectacular but it was cold so we choose to be close to the heater instead. Loved that they supplied blankets. This was highly appreciated. Would definitely go again during the day to experience high tea.

An absolute 5 star dining experience! Had my fiancé's birthday dinner at Flames in the Four Seasons Westcliff. An absolutely unparalleled dining experience. From the service, to the ambiance, to the food. Absolutely amazing and definitely a cut above the rest. I HIGHLY recommend! - Focaccia bread and a savoury muffin with butter and balsamic vinegar for the table - Deep fried Patagonian squid with a black garlic dip - Fried eggplant Baba Ghanoush with crispy chick peas, salsa verde, red pepper romesco, herb salad and green oil. - Chalmar beef fillet with pomme purée, chargrilled vegetables and green peppercorn sauce - Tonka bean basque cheesecake with blueberry compote and candied orange - Belgian chocolate and hazelnut bar with vanilla bean frozen yogurt - Complimentary cake ❤️ To all GP residents and anyone visiting JHB, if you haven't been to @flamesjohannesburg , this is your sign. You will not be disappointed.

Had a wonderful time at Flames Restaurant! We sat outside and soaked up the lovely breeze while taking in the stunning views of Joburg. My friend's pork belly was a hit - she polished off the entire plate! 😋 I opted for the lamb chops, which were absolutely delicious, although a bit on the fatty side (I left the fat behind 😉). Can't wait to return for sundowners and enjoy the atmosphere again! 🌅👌 Great experience, highly recommend!

Caring and accommodating. Highly recommended

We went in for a chefs table at Level 4. The table was located in the kitchen, which was nice as you got to see how the dinner service was conducted. We had a 9 course dinner which spanned for about 3 hours. We had dietary requirements that the chef accommodated, and it was a deviation from the set menu. The waitors and the staff were very friendly. The food was expertly plated, and the flavors overall were well balanced. The rack of lamb and the fish were my favorite courses. I would definitely be back to try more.

Nerina N — Google review
I really have mixed feelings about my experience at the restaurant. We were celebrating a 1 year anniversary, and we were welcomed by a friendly doorman. Immediately the hotel lobby was pleasant. The setting at the restaurant is really classic, and was fitting for the occasion. Our waiter, Patience was really nice and friendly. The issue started with the cocktails. We both ordered the Level Four martini, which is not a martini at all. We then asked for old fashions, and they were really watered down, but better than the martini. I ordered the lamb shoulder and honestly it was a let down. It tasted like my aunt had cooked lamb outside with a three legged pot. There was no flavour, it's as if it was only cooked with water. The mash was basic. Honestly this is a meal anyone can make at their house. My girlfriend ordered the pork belly and it was meh. The presentation was nice though but the pork belly itself was not succulent but rather hard. The relish was flavourful and she enjoyed that more than the actual pork belly. Overall, the atmosphere is really great, the staff is nice. The drinks and food are such a let down. I would not recommend this place for food. Also their menu is really limited, which is okay, but if your menu is gonna have limited options, they better be incredibly delicious.
Nymless B — Google review
Very fine environment, classic and classy but a bit on the outdated side. The food was wonderfully presented and the service was nice. Dessert was average which was disappointing since they have a separate dessert menu - I’d set my hopes really high for my favorite course. It’s a beautiful place but it could use some excitement to set itself apart. Overall a lovely meal and a quiet setting.
Anele S — Google review
Fantastic food, the tasting menu was presented in a fresh and interesting way with every dish being unique and delicious. It was my first time at Paul Melrose, and I must say the experience was outstanding. From the warm welcome at the door to being seated and served, everything was seamless. Went there for a lunch date with my friend, nice place and great atmosphere, we had complimentary bread and butter, it was really nice, i ordered fish and mash and a strawberry mocktail(really good)…..the fish was on the bland side and very oily, the mash was just ok and the tartar sauce not so good! Additionally, the restaurant boasts a balcony with a breathtaking view of the city skyline, enhancing the dining experience further. What a disappointing experience at the restaurant. Such a pity! We were there to celebrate our birthday (My sister nad I). It took 45 minutes to get drinks which was accompanied with the most disgusting attitude from the waiter (Lihle), he was actually annoyed when we asked about the wait time for food if the drinks took 45minutes, half the time he was cutting me off when ever I wanted to ask about anything. I wish I went somewhere else. We didn’t order food and left to try and salvage what was left of our birthday celebration .

I like this place because it is next to my house. We always buy fresh bread and cookies. The service is good. But today I found an egg shell in my favorite cookie ☹️ It's not pleasant, from now on be careful and watch the cooking
Маргарита — Google review
The food here is usually very good, so we trusted them for a sandwich platter. We were told the platter would feed 10-12 people, but received the equivalent of one loaf of bread and a few slices of cheese and 7 baby tomatoes for R550. Presentation wasn't even really considered.
Cameron M — Google review
We visited Olivia’s Coffeebake out of curiosity after seeing their Google reviews. Initially, we bought a takeaway quiche, which the lady said was chicken and mushroom. It looked delicious, so we ordered it to go as we were in a hurry. Once outside, we noticed how lovely the seating area looked and decided to have coffee there. However, when we asked for a fork to enjoy the quiche, we were told we had to pay an extra R80 because we were now eating it outside. Whether that was for the fork or a small side salad (which we didn’t want), I’m still not sure — but R80 seems excessive for either. We decided not to eat the quiche there and just had coffee instead. The waiter was excellent — friendly and professional — but the policy and handling of the situation felt very unprofessional. When we eventually ate the quiche, it was disappointing: one tiny piece of chicken (about the size of a marble) in the entire portion. It was essentially an egg and mushroom quiche, not the chicken and mushroom we were sold. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I wouldn’t rush back.
Jonah K — Google review
First time visit to Olivia's and loved the warm atmosphere. The food was fresh and flavourful. Our waitress was attentive and gave us great service despite it being a really busy morning. The bakery is so tempting with all its delights. Great potential to becoming a regular breakfast spot ♡

The Troyeville is a long-standing Portuguese restaurant in Johannesburg, offering simple rooms and a suite for accommodation. I've been here on more than one occasion and I feel that the standard has dropped in terms of their food. The carpaccio was delicious. The rib eye was grilled to perfection but the 'fries' were mushy, didn't even have more than 5. The creme brulee was okay. The sugar was too thick and the blueberry sauce on top made the dessert too wet. The service we received was fine, although slow. We ordered a bottle of wine and I swear our waitress was gone for a good 20 minutes. There were only 4 tables occupied throughout the evening. They have a lovely deck area for sundowners, the view is not disappointing.

25.04.2018 We were looking for a spot to have after work drinks to bid farewell to a colleague leaving. Convenience was key so we decided on coming next door to our work. It has a lovely chilled setup and view. Sadly due to the strike they were short staffed which resulted in extremely slow service. The drinks menu seems ok, i had a quick look at the food menu and it looks like the usual stuff. i sadly didnt try the drinks but discovered a new brand of Tea as since that was my poison for the evening. it tasted quite nice actually. Will consider giving this place another try. It has potential;-)

Loved the food there and wine. But the food took so long to arrive and the restaurant was pretty empty, 40mins wait.
Ajmal R — Google review
Food wasn't bad but service was poor overall. Requesting a extra plate resulted in well over a five minute wait while the restaurant was basically empty. Disappointed to have asked for a bottle of table water (which is drinkable tap water) only to realize that it was local bottled water costing 48 Rand. Must need to be a local to know the correct phrase for the complimentary water. Unfortunately, it seems the staff, like the hotel, are mostly disinterested and know that most guests are stuck here as they don't want to venture out after dark in Johannesburg.

Tucked away in the charming Weltevredenpark area of Roodepoort, Second Cup offers a delightful escape from Johannesburg's fast-paced environment. This enchanting breakfast spot is surrounded by lush gardens that create a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family. The menu features an impressive selection of hearty breakfast options, including artisanal homemade sourdough and rye bread that elevate each dish.
Loved the food, ambience and decor. The setting is tranquil and relaxing and the breakfast was one of the best I've had - tasty, hot and well presented. However, the star of the show was, without doubt, our waiter Samuel. Absolutely perfect service and he's also quick witted and very funny. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Celebrated a 70th birthday. Food was excellent, although we waited very very long, but then again we were a group of 20. Our server, Thembi, was wonderful! She made sure everyone got their correct order and made sure we were looked after. So much care was taken with the food preparation. Table and setting was beautiful. Lovely gardens. All and all a great place for any occasion.
Mariska C — Google review
It is an absolutely beautiful place for any type of meal, being with friends or family. The food is really well priced and the portions were huge. The coffee was hot and really yummy. The menu has so many wonderful options for different types of meals. There is some pathways that the older generation may struggle with as it's a bit rocky. So there weren't very obvious wheelchair accessible entrances. But it is doable. The service was wonderful, kind and attentive, very good timing for food and drinks. However cute the chickens might be, they make an awful lot of noise and when food comes out they swarm underneath the table in large numbers and don't leave until you've finished your meal. It can be especially weird if you are eating one of their chicken options. However it is a beautiful spot surrounded by trees and the sound of birds, with good meal options and there also happens to be a lot of other shops on the premises so lots to do there. Definitely worth checking it out for a nice brunch or breakfast option.

Really nice place under the trees, and pet friendly. There are a lot of chickens around (in case your dog can't handle that). The food is delicious and fairly priced. The inside area is very cosy and beautiful with a little shop with yummy things. Really glad we stopped here for breakfast.

Father Coffee Rosebank is a charming coffee spot located in Johannesburg, offering a unique and exciting coffee experience. The ambiance feels like a small European village, providing a cozy atmosphere to enjoy their in-house brew or purchase packaged versions to take home. It's an ideal place for a morning pick-me-up during the week or meeting up with friends on the weekend before exploring the nearby market or embarking on an inner city tour.
Were looking for a nice Café which also serves breakfast, and were immediately convinced by its Google reviews and pictures. I fell in love with it the moment we entered! The cakes and buns and breads all look (and taste!) incredible, they are also specialists with regard to coffee beans and styles. Extremely attentive and cool waiters who gave recommendations! I really liked the modern interior where people also go to work (there are plugs). Sourdough bread also recommended. Would have loved to try everything on the menu!!

Father Coffee in Rosebank has such a vibe but relaxed feel. The coffee, and the array is just out of this world. With soo many brew options as well, it can leave you a little overwhelmed, but I would have it any other way. And Neo, the Barista? Amazing. Friendly. Knowledgeable.

I had a fun time. For a compact space it felt spacious. I like that they have table tennis at their store. It's really refreshing. The play area can be closed to contain the noise. I ordered a flat white, it was made at a suitable temperature, warm enough to drink. The milk used was taste with some sweet nodes to it. A great beverage when starting to take your coffee without sugar. Friendly customer service. They have an innovative means of accessing the menu via QR code on the dinning in tables, although they do have a menu at the counter, which is where you place your order. You order at the counter, and your order is served at your table. Hot and cold beverages are available, breakfast: toasted sandwiches, muesli, yogurt, fruits and etc are sold. It's a great gem.

Just Teddy Hyde Park is a charming family-owned boulangerie and patisserie that brings the essence of Parisian and Middle Eastern flavors to life. Located in the bustling Hyde Park Corner Shopping Centre, this delightful café offers an array of delectable treats, from exquisite eclairs to refreshing sorbets and an impressive selection of cakes. Indulge in their signature offerings like the Classic Baked Cheesecake or the rich Opera cake, crafted with layers of almond sponge and chocolate ganache.
We had a delightful afternoon tea with lovely fresh scones. One of the ladies in our party wanted strawberry jam instead of marmalade with her scones. The waitron went out of her way to make sure we all enjoyed our tea and she even brought us extra scones! ❤️
Debs S — Google review
I'm underwhelmed. I had high expectations. They downsized from the cute pink cafe I knew to this rich Mediterranean colours in a room. The waiters tried to get us to move from our seats twice. Almost none of the items on the menu were actually there. The teas? Almost all sold out. The cakes? 90% sold out. The food? Overpriced for the taste quality and quantity. I really wanted this to be a good experience. I really did.

The restaurant is rather chic & pretty. The food was OK. The desserts was yummy. Pricing makes sense when one has regard to the aesthetic of the restaurant and its location. Would make a gorg outing for bridal/baby showers!

The vibe here is super cool. You could completely forget you're in a shopping mall. The people I was with all really enjoyed their drinks and food. So did I. The staff was prompt and friendly. I really enjoyed my Irish coffee. ;)

Beautiful setup and the coffee isn’t bad but that’s where it stops. Burnt food prepared in stale oil, extremely limited veggie/vegan options, neglectful service and a complete lack of care from the manager - she herself even said, “I’m sorry we ruined your birthday” then she proceeded to do absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. Based on their price point, it wasn’t worth the hype - I actually wanted to try their high tea offering after I’m done with my religious fast however based on my overall experience I doubt I’ll be doing that

Walking into Just Teddy is like stepping into a Parisian dream wrapped in elegance and floral charm. The décor is luxurious with golden accents, cherry blossoms, and a warm glow — it sets the perfect mood for a chic brunch or indulgent dessert session.

I felt it was really important to share a review of my experience. A big, heartfelt thank you to Just Teddy, Hyde Park. I arrived early to set up for a bridesmaid proposal brunch, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. A special shoutout to our waitress, “Pinky” (apologies if I’ve got the spelling wrong) – you were absolutely amazing. Naked Coffee Sandton, located in Sandton City, is a charming spot with an inviting atmosphere. The menu features delectable options such as the falafel brekko and gluten-free pumpkin flapjacks. Breakfast is served all day on weekends. The coffee shop offers a bright and airy space with floor-to-ceiling windows, making it perfect for relaxing or getting some work done before or after shopping.
Omelette was unexpectedly delicious. It didn’t contain ordinary mushrooms, but more advanced mushrooms (white beech mushrooms). Unfortunately, the spinach was not washed thoroughly, and there was sand in my mouth! The service staff is friendly and the table is clean! The coffee is delicious and the latte art is beautiful! Great location, in Sandton mall! It's next to the escalator, with good lighting🌞, a good place to relax and have a meal💕
SOFIA C — Google review
A small coffee shop situated under the large escalators in Sandton City mall. I think it’s quite a nice use of space and has all the cute details associated with the Naked chain. The chai latte I had here was probably the best I’ve had in my life so would definitely recommend. The staff were all very friendly and the manager was making turns checking in on the customers which was appreciated. However it seems like they struggle to cater for the sit down customers and the takeaway customers at the same time as we had to wait a ridiculously long time for our coffee and then again for the bill. I would come again but hope to have some faster service next time.
Gess R — Google review
A quaint little “hideaway” in the middle of the mall. Staff are excellent but the food lets them down. I had an egg sandwich (R75!) on rye and a single solitary slice with a sad solitary wedge of lemon arrived on a plate. The Mayo they used was cheap (Hellmans) and tasted as sad as it looked in the plate. I finished just a bit. The tea was about the only good thing I could mention about the whole dining experience. They could work on that. The vibe is very “Sandton” with lots of loud cellphone chatting about clients, stocks and the like. Overall an ok time was had.

Njam Eatery is a delightful culinary gem that truly captures the essence of comfort food. During my visits, I indulged in their Rooster Breakkie and shakshuka, both bursting with flavor. The homemade pasta was a standout, while the milkshakes were simply divine! Although I found the gelato to be a bit watery, it didn’t overshadow the overall experience. The service from Alice and Charity was exceptional; they were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.
I can safely say that Njam is one of the best restaurants in Linden. The food is simply deliciously mouth watering - after having multiple dishes, I can't choose the best one. Eggs Benedict and BLT made to perfection. Iced coffee out of this world. Super friendly and helpful wait staff. Lovely atmosphere. Reasonably priced. An all round amazing experience. Mikes Heritage House is a long-standing family-friendly restaurant with a traditional South African menu. The classic decor, adorned with greenery, creates a cozy atmosphere both indoors and in the beautiful garden outdoors. This historic establishment, originally a 12-room mansion built in 1905, offers old steakhouse favorites alongside contemporary dishes like duck spring rolls. It caters to private and corporate events and is known for its warm hospitality.
Beautiful day out at Mikes Heritage House for lunch. I have absolutely nothing that I can find fault. Everything was perfect , the food was so yummy, well cooked and beautifully presented. Very pleasant waiters / waitresses. The service was awesome. Will be back next month. Thank you all.

I truly enjoyed Mike’s heritage house. At first I was disappointed by the fact that they don’t serve any Italian food like pasta, pizza and therefore I settled for their Sirloin Steak and it was the best steak I ever tasted, truly enjoyed every bite of it and the veggies were to die for. The service was very efficient from our waitress and I loved the outdoor atmosphere. We finished our day with slap chips and let me tell you this place is called heritage for a reason, they cook everything like they founded those meals therefore making these meals their heritage site to visit I definitely recommend Mike’s heritage.
Yanga S — Google review
I've had the pleasure of dining at Mike's Kitchen Heritage House numerous times over the years, and it's always been a treat. The outdoor area is lovely, and the menu selection is diverse and appealing. However, my most recent visit in late December 2024 was somewhat disappointing. Despite the restaurant not being overly busy, as me went after the lunch crowd. The service was slower than usual. My steak was also not prepared as I had requested. I want to emphasise that this experience won't deter me from returning, as I understand that off-days can happen to anyone. I'm sharing this in the spirit of constructive feedback, hoping that it will help Mike's Kitchen Heritage House continue to improve and provide the excellent experience that I've come to expect. I look forward to my next visit!

S A Charming Gem with Hearty Food and Heritage Warmth Tucked inside a beautifully preserved double-storey house from the early 1900s, Mike’s Kitchen Heritage House offers a truly special dining experience. The original wooden interior has been lovingly maintained, giving the space a nostalgic, homely charm. There’s a seat for every mood—quiet nooks and crannies for intimate chats, a lively, festive buzz on Friday afternoons, or relaxed outdoor tables in the garden. We visited on a packed Friday afternoon and were blown away. The food was absolutely excellent, with portions in true American style—generous and satisfying. It’s a meat-lover’s paradise, but my friend’s falafel burger looked divine and was a great vegetarian option. I opted for a classic burger with a hot vegetable side of spinach, butternut, and broccoli—fresh, perfectly cooked, and a nice alternative to chips. Service was impeccable. The maître d’ checked in on us regularly, and the whole team made us feel welcome. Prices are reasonable—around R125 for a burger—and the experience is well worth it. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, and the little touch of a red lollipop at the door when you leave made the whole visit feel that much sweeter. Highly recommended—whether you’re after a hearty meal, a cozy chat, or a Friday vibe, this spot delivers.
Terry P — Google review
The food was great. The place was packed, as it was mothers day, so the service was a bit slow. The staff is super friendly though, I was super late for my reservation but I called before hand and they worked something out. The only thing I would really criticise is their cheesecake, it doesn't taste like cheesecake. I think they make it with sour milk instead of cream cheese, anyway they should really rethink their recipe and ingredients.

Excellent stay at this hotel. Front desk staff were friendly and the housekeeping was done to a very high standard. They operate a free shuttle to Nelson Mandela square every 30 mins, but you could also walk (if you feel safe doing so) as it is just a short walk from the hotel. The hotel has a beautiful garden which I could not enjoy because this was a work trip and I had a busy schedule.

Would have given it a solid 5 had it not been for the noise at night despite being in the quieter part of the hotel. Plus my colleague had the unpleasant surprise to have his room opened by supposedly 2 security guards in the middle of the night on the second night of our 1 week stay there. The staff on the other hand were super helpful and nice and words cannot express my gratitude to them. Always ready to help and ensuring that the hotel is super clean. Big thanks to the chef in the restaurant and the omelette lady.

So the good news: excellent rooms, love the bedding, great TV, and especially nice with a proper separate shower still with a bath. Staff is very friendly. The not so good news: the place is noisy, both from the hallway and in the windows side. Also don’t count on room service. A simple salat will take over 30min midday, but at least they will warn you. And finally, don’t rely on the very spotty internet. I’m writing this from the room using 4G…

Fátima J — Google review
We stayed at the Radisson Red Rosebank in Johannesburg and, while the design of the hotel is nice, the functionality and especially the service left a lot to be desired. We booked the junior suite with executive lounge access. The room itself was a corner suite with sharp angles, leaving a lot of unusable space. The bathroom design was frustrating — the tap was either a weak trickle or so powerful it splashed water everywhere, and the fan made a loud, intermittent noise like a kettle boiling, even with the door closed. Service was the biggest letdown. At breakfast, the staff seemed uninterested and disengaged. Despite the restaurant being far from full, there were no plates or bowls available, and when asked, staff simply walked off and eventually brought glasses instead. Condiments and sauces were also missing. Overall, it felt like a “can’t be bothered” attitude. The door staff were similar — we arrived with two large suitcases, and no one offered to help. Instead, they just told us to use the main door rather than the turnstile as we struggled with our bags up the steps. Departing the hotel was no different, with zero assistance offered. It really felt like service isn’t a priority here. The executive lounge was disappointing — very small and awkward, with an attendant sitting there but not doing much. Food was meant to be available from 5–8 pm, but by 6:30 it was gone and not replenished at all. The one positive was the reception staff, who were friendly and helpful, unlike the rest of the team. The location is also very good, with plenty of restaurants and things to do nearby, and it felt safe — one of the reasons we chose this hotel for our layover in Johannesburg. Overall, a stylish hotel in a great area, but the poor service and functionality mean we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Great hotel and absolutely loved the artwork. The room was spacious, and the bed was really comfortable. Also want to give thanks to Simanga, our server in the restaurant for breakfast. He was a pleasure: He was super friendly, his service was quick, and he helped teach us some of the basics of Zulu language which helped us not only communicate with him, but with other people in the area. If you visit, please ask for him. 10/10, would visit this hotel again if I come back to Johannesburg.

The hotel is situated in a central location with access to Rosebank Mall, the Zone Rosebank and the museum illusions is close by. The breakfast was incredible with a lot of options to choose prepared, the restaurant on the rooftop was the cherry on top the food served was delicious and well prepared.

Hotel
The Bannister Hotel is a trendy boutique hotel located in the heart of Braamfontein, Johannesburg. It offers compact yet comfortable rooms and features a polished restaurant with a stylish bar where guests can enjoy breakfast. The hotel prides itself on its 'No Frills, No Compromise' ethos, offering great value and quality starting at $40 USD per night. With amenities such as wireless internet and laundry facilities, it provides convenience for travelers.
The bar below the Bannister Hotel has a lively and energetic atmosphere, especially on weekends. It’s a popular spot in Braamfontein. The vibe is casual, and it’s a good place to grab a drink with friends or meet new people. However, it can get quite crowded, which might not be ideal if you're looking for a relaxed environment. The service is generally friendly, though it can slow down when the place is packed. Overall, it’s a solid spot for a night out, but the noise can be an issue if you're staying in the hotel above.

Great experience indeed friendly and very assisting stuff, whom made sure we are treated like royalty thanks to our waitress
Sibusiso R — Google review
Our booking was paid for and confirmed in writing several months before our arrival in Johannesburg but, when we arrived, The Bannister Hotel was closed. For renovations. So these works were planned, but the management didn't bother to cancel our reservation. And whilst a contact number for any enquiries had been left on the door, it was an unregistered number. So, basically, we were left on the street with all our luggage (in the middle of a storm), trying to find alternative accommodation without any assistance. A great way to experience Johannesburg!

The restaurant service was so bad. We were rushed to place orders.. items were thrown on our table, drinks came in cans, no glass, no straws. The worst Margaritas I’ve ever had. The glasses were not clean.Overall, a bad experience... not worth it at all. I gave my takeaway to a hobo on the way out.

I love the centre of Joburg so this is in the heart of the buzz. The comedy club and bar downstairs makes no noise but are nice to have so accessible. The service is wonderful and safe parking makes one sleep easy.

Zoo Lake Bowls Club is a cherished gem nestled in Johannesburg, offering an unforgettable experience for families and food lovers alike. Established in 1934, this vibrant venue serves as a gathering spot for soccer fans and those seeking delicious meals at reasonable prices. The clubhouse overlooks the picturesque bowls lawns and new padel courts, creating a relaxed atmosphere perfect for unwinding. On weekends, families can enjoy activities like jumping castles for kids while live music fills the air in the evenings.
One of the best steaks in town (I dare to say). If you are looking for a relaxed experience, mild on the aesthetics, and perhaps just hungry and honestly just all about the food experience and satiety, I highly recommend the steak and chips on the menu. The food is very very well priced, and very good too.

Besides incredible food, the vibe at Bowls is epic. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had our baby shower here and the whole team at bowls went above and beyond. 10/10 would recommend that anyone looking for a chill, some chow and a great venue, give this place a try.

The food and drinks were just horrible I must admit. We had to return our pizza's more than once because there was hardly any cheese on them just like scraps of meat and whatever other toppings on them. The pizza's were returned so much they were barely edible when we decided to finally eat them because we had been waiting so long for the food. The cocktails we got were gross as well. Overall an incredibly underwhelming dining experience.

I had the chance to visit the Zoo Lake Bowls Club for breakfast. It was a delightful experience, and they are dog-friendly as long as the dog is on a leash. I strongly recommend trying their all-day breakfast.

The classic place to get a drink and a meal for a reasonable price while overlooking the bowls lawns (and the new padel courts). On the weekend I was there a jumping castle was put out for the kids and a live music event occurred in the evening. The service was great with the staff looking after our large table with close attention and fantastic friendliness. This place will always be a top spot for me personally. I've had too many good memories made here not to revisit it to make some more.

Pictures by copyright ©️ blackjohannes. Pictures as is and was not edited or manipulated. The bowls club is not about bowls only. The bar and restaurant provided for decades long different experiences for different people. It went through times of cheap drinks and cheap budget meals where young and old hang out. These days you can still experience the same late back approach of 20 years ago as the green spaces and views are the same. You can get a great oven baked 40 cm pizza for less than R100. The drinks are not that "cheap" anymore and most meals are not your typical budget meals, unless you go after the specials. Service levels are laid back and food takes long. It is still worth it to give it a visit now and then. The "old mans' marble game" are not the main attraction. You can just sit back and enjoy the experience.

This place really has it all... Great food! They especially prepared a tasting platter for me, and every little detail from how the steak was cooked, to how the seafood was grilled, the little condiments and sauces... Always order the sweet ginger chilli sauce with anything you order! The halloumi grilled to perfection, home made hummus and they take the humble chips/fries to the next level! Sounds like pub grub kinda food but there are some more sophisticated dishes too. Trust me it would take a week to eat your way through the menu, but what a week that would be! Great drinks! Ice cold Stella on tap, I also had a Royal standard espresso martini! Yum!! And great service, the team really do care about the product and the experience. Most importantly, the Vibe, if you're up for a bit of a dance, a private dinner or just quiet snacks with a friend, I can highly recommend The Station! Compliments to Neil, Siobhan, Gary and the rest of the team! High five's all round!

To The Station Parkhurst - A BIG THANK YOU TO DYLAN We celebrated my mum’s birthday here, and the experience was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment I made the booking, the manager was warm, welcoming, and attentive – making sure every detail was taken care of. On arrival, the team went above and beyond to make my mum feel special. They decorated the table with balloons, wrote a sweet birthday message on the tablecloth, and even surprised her with a dessert to mark the occasion. The ambiance was beautiful – calm, relaxing, and spotless – which made the evening feel extra special. The food was outstanding, prepared with such quality and attention to detail. Every dish was fresh and delicious. A big thank you to Dylan and the staff for creating such a memorable celebration for us. The service, atmosphere, and food all came together perfectly. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a wonderful dining experience. This was 5 big stars***** From Louie and family

Father Coffee Kramerville is a trendy coffee shop with a clean and natural aesthetic, featuring wood paneling, indoor plants, and large windows. The ambience is vibrant and hip, making it a popular spot for coffee-lovers and hipsters alike. In addition to serving unique bean blends of coffee, the shop also sells coffee-making equipment.
I'm very impressed with them. Their breakfast is top-notch, and creative. To me, it's an order of magnitude better than some of the other popular 'usual suspects'. Of course, their coffee is great to. So really a fantastic casual breakfast location.
A S — Google review
Coffee:: A 9.5/10 rating for one of my favourite coffees, the Heirloom blend from Father Coffee. They are a well-respected coffee shop and roastery. I know of a highly-rated café that makes use of their beans, and I'm sure there are more. My americano had good crema and was served hot (which funny enough many coffee shops seem to struggle to get right). They have a state of the art La Marzocco Strada coffee machine which allows for impressive extraction and consistency. Service:: I was standing in the roastery area, which, for a waiter is not an easy "pack of cards" to be handed and still pull off a very smooth experience - but I must compliment the lady who served me for making it just that - smooth. Thanks to Nelson for spending much time in running me through the interesting coffee roasting process and touching on some of the many different blends & single origin coffees that they offer. Coffee tasting:: Free coffee tastings are offered on some Saturdays, be sure to check with them when the next one will be. There is one this coming Sat. Seating:: This is a popular spot for workaholics to sit down laptop and all but there should be enough seating most days, and decor is on point as well. Cons:: I do find that their other coffee beans are very pricey, perhaps they are justified by doing so, but not for the "average" person to regularly enjoy. Baked goods also seem in the higher price range, but perhaps if I give them a try I might agree that they are worth the price. I'll be back.
Samuel B — Google review
Father Coffee … talk about dripping in ambience … and hipsters. Sadly some of the staff were pretty surly, and the double cappuccino was only “pretty good” and not “omg fall on my knees good”. The Lindt hot chocolate was also a bit of a weak chocolate taste (I prefer rich Belgian chocolate), but kudos to them for trying something different. My recommendation is to rather come in for a proper coffee experience and get a V60 or Chemex, which is where Father Coffee will shine. In Kramerville, it’s definitely more of a destination than your typical coffee spot … it’s just missing the X-factor of some other niche coffee spots I genuinely love.

Coffee and cake was great. Recommend the Orange and Homey Spelt cake! Cheese cake also great. Seems like a communal workspace…some guy even had two screens. I would say it’s a nice spot to work but the music was a bit too loud to have an online meeting…in person would be fine. They make their own bread and there’s lots of other conjoined offices etc. quite cool. From the outside it looks a bit dodge but inside is beautiful

I came here for a business meeting with such a special person who supplies this spot with her Matcha - Sanrae. Best matcha latte by far. They’ve nailed the technique and taste of it. So aesthetically pleasing to the eye and makes the experience 10x better. I’ve never eaten here but I did buy their bakery bread - oh my sourdough. Best loaf I’ve ever tasted. You know it’s a good sourdough loaf when you eat it on its own ripping it by the hand. This was so authentic, the fermentation, the bubbles, the taste and crust. Wow!! I think my family and I finished that loaf in 2 days 😭. It was such a blessing, and highly recommend buying a loaf for home!! Love love love. Can’t wait to try their brekkie menu!!

Very poor service today Asked for a hot cappuccino and got it luke warm. Had to send it back to reheat We ordered a croissant with scrambled eggs. Later the chef game and told me they don’t do scrambled eggs I then ordered a sunny side fried egg it came turned over We had to ask twice for knives and forks. When our coffee arrived had to ask for sugar Then we had to ask for servettes which arrived 5 min later What a pity about poor trained staff, it runes the experience . Good coffee but it’s made to cold

A bit further out but oh so worth it. Excellent coffee and the food is divine. No really, they take the food way more seriously than a coffee shop should have any right to. The only problem I had here was slowing down. I wish I could try everything on the menu. Service is friendly and fast. The WiFi is also really good. Oh and did I mention the interior is so minimalist chic I felt like a fashion designer as I typed out my email. Top marks, do not sleep on this place.

Hyatt House Johannesburg Rosebank is a well-managed hotel located close to Rosebank Mall. The rooms are comfortable, although smaller than the Sandton franchise. It's advisable to walk around during the day and avoid doing so at night due to poor lighting, especially during load shedding. The staff is professional and helpful, with exceptional housekeeping services. The breakfast area may be small but efficient, and guests can easily find a table.
Hyatt house rosebank. Staff very friendly and efficient. Breakfast has a wide variety and fully halal. Rooms were spacious and equipped with mini kitchen. Location is very central. Only schlep was producing drivers licence when you leave the premises and when you enter the premises. Overall we had a lovely stay. Will definitely book àgain.

Great new-ish hotel in Rosebank. A short walk from the Gautrain, malls and restaurants. Tasteful modern decor, incredibly stylish. Lovely rooftop deck as long as other guests aren't smoking up there - that ruins it 100%. The apartment was spacious and well appointed, although the bathroom lighting was substandard, and the bathroom would benefit from a few more hooks to hang clothing and better shelves for toiletry bags. The walls are bit bare. Some wonderful local art, perhaps from Rosebank Rooftop market, would be a great addition. The service was friendly and helpful. The staff had good energy. But I only found out about the massage/spa services after I left - so they could do more to ensure patrons know what's on offer. Only four stars because there's only one lift and guests cannot use the stairs all the way down to the ground floor. Also only four stars because the food needs work. I had a very lack-lustre burger. But it's Rosebank, with so many food options that one doesn't need to eat at the hotel. I simply mismanaged my time. I will stay here again.

In room no large mirror, sink and shower taps fall apart, lots of chair table moving noise at 6am almost every morning. 2 of my shirts got lost in laundry and all off my Tshirts shrank by 3 down size and as a bonus they wanted me to pay 900ZAR for the service:) How lovely Rooms are not cleaned well. They don’t even put a thrash bag. 1 staff at front desk never smiles, barely answers questions. Good location close distance to a mall, you can casually replace your shrunk clothes there :) Would definitely not recommend.

This was my first visit to South Africa, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Johannesburg. From the moment I arrived, the check-in process was seamless—quick, professional, and welcoming. The location is absolutely perfect! It’s right within the city limits, just a short walk to the mall and conveniently close to everything I needed. As a light sleeper, I was pleasantly surprised by how peaceful the surroundings were—no street noise at all, which made my stay even more relaxing. One of the highlights for me was having a Pret A Manger just a few minutes away on foot—such a lovely bonus for daily coffee and quick bites. Breakfast at the hotel was fantastic with a wide variety of options, beautifully presented and full of flavor. I especially enjoyed the local rooibos tea—an absolute must-try. Truly a wonderful experience overall. I hope to return soon!

I tried this cafe with a friend and one of the challenges we had was finding it since we weren’t familiar with the area and parking was an issue. The service was good, staff was nice and the vibe was chilled. The place is really cute. The let down was the food. We tried the Philly steak and Chipotle chicken. There was nothing special about it, it was quite salty, though the sandwich was cheesy, it just lacked something to take it to that level of flavour. Overall, I’d rate this place 5/10 for someone.

I have been living under a rock. Literally one of the cutest, cape tonian vibe cafes. Reality is this place is always packed and you will wait for a table, but the manager handles like a pro and will take your food orders, and when you finally get a table, the food will arrive within 10 minutes! This is a very aesthetic cafe with the glorious menu. Pricing is well worth what you get. Service can be a bit slow but that is due to high customer activity but so well worth the wait. Matcha - oh my days. The best matcha I’ve had in joburg. So creamy and has those green tea umami notes. Love that they give you a little biscuit! Turkish eggs - by far the best Turkish eggs I’ve had. The labneh is so creamy, garlicky pairing well with the pistachio dukkah & runny poached eggs. Sourdough is to die for & the chilli oil adds a nice kick. Parmesan scramble - lives up to its reputation. Best scrambled eggs, not wet and squishy but creamy and melt in your mouth. Bias Italian here but Parmesan makes everything better. Their brioche is so delicate and buttery. Beautiful beautiful beautiful!! I cannot recommend this place enough. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A solid 6/10, but no more! Buffet had several items (including samosas and spring rolls) with no labels, and staff didn’t always know the filling! My wife and I booked for dinner at Balato on 20 November 2021. Our expectations were great as the website research suggested we were in for a classy meal. Our experience was diametrically opposite. The service from the waiter was poor. Our starter was good but we then waited more than 45 minutes for our mains to arrive. At no stage were we informed of any delay by out waiter. When I queried the delay with him he passed it off with a “it’s nearly ready” comment. As he then perceived my frustration, only then did he move to the kitchen to chase things up. The venue was painfully noisy as a big party of guests was celebrating a birthday in the venue. Young children were running around and playing noisily. We do not expect this of a four star hotel. Our mains then arrived but both were sub-standard. My wife’s fish (Cod) was bland and poorly done. My pasta was fair but nothing more. We called for the bill and left without having dessert. Our wine was good but the R430 charged for the red blend was exorbitant. We will never set foot there again. Throughout the evening there was no sign whatever of managerial supervision. That explains everything!

Located in Sandton City, Walnut Grove is a popular restaurant known for its wide selection of freshly-made cakes and the option to order custom whole cakes. The menu features delectable options like Red Velvet Cheesecake, Black Velvet Vanilla Sponge with Oreo cookies and cream cheese icing, Raffaelo Coconut & Chocolate Cake, and Carrot cake. In addition to their designer cakes, the bakery also offers irresistible cupcakes such as Ferrero Rocher cupcakes made with high-quality chocolate.
After a less-than-great time at the airport for many reasons, I finally ended up at the hotel next to Sandton City Mall—a beautiful mall. I stopped at this place and got served by a gentleman with a nice attitude and a smile (a complete opposite experience from the airport). But that's not the end of it. I ordered an awesome burger to die for. The picture speaks for itself. Plus, the 1-foot tall cake will be my dessert tomorrow. If you come to this mall, definitely give it a try!

My experience at Walnut Grove was truly delightful, marked by a charming ambiance and an incredibly welcoming staff. Godfrey, our server, went above and beyond to ensure we felt attended to, delivering service that was both prompt and attentive. Impressively, my meal arrived within about 10 minutes of placing my order. I chose a delicious chicken prego roll, which had a satisfying blend of flavors that I would rate a 7/10. The roll was perfectly fresh, and the chicken was tender and savory, complemented by a zesty sauce that elevated the dish. I can confidently say that Walnut Grove is a fantastic venue for group breakfasts or leisurely lunches, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.

Had such a lovely experience here today! My waitress Joana was friendly and attentive, and the manager Brilliant truly lived up to his name. I accidentally left my phone in the bathroom and only realised about 20 minutes later, when I rushed back, Brilliant had kept it safe and even put it on charge for me. So grateful for their honesty and kindness, they saved me from a major panic (and about R15 000!).

My niece ordered this fabulous red velvet cake for a 60th, it was massive, fresh, and oh so delicious! What a fantastic cake!

I use to love coming here on a Saturday for a mid afternoon coffee whilst shopping at Sandton however the past two visits have been very disappointing. Besides the restaurant not been kept clean (so much “litter” from sugar and sweet wrappers on the floors), the service is below standard with staff reflecting a busy days work with less interest in clients after the lunch rush. Both past meals were average - I don’t believe I’ll be back anytime soon. Management didn’t appear very interested in the feedback offered.

I've been to Walnut four times, and the first three times were great - delicious food, attentive waiters, etc. Except, the last time I was there was a catastrophe. My friend's food and I took so long to arrive and we had no updates whatsoever from the waiter, manager, etc. The wait was so long, at a fancier restaurant we would have been given free drinks or bread, a small plate to eat while waiting. After the long wait, we were told that they got my order wrong and had the redo the whole thing (after we found the waiter after 30 minutes). Really a terrible experience compared to the other times.

Having been here before I knew what to expect, a pleasant experience, which was had. Came on a weekend and the mall was packed but was lucky to find a table for lunch. The entire deco is spot on, love the over hanging lights. The food was exceptional. I must admit, prices where a bit on the higher side but I guess you're paying for great service and food. I'll give them an overall rating of 9/10.

Tashas Melrose Arch is a popular spot for those seeking delicious comfort food with a creative twist. The menu features dishes made with fresh ingredients and presented with flair. Visitors praise the attentive service, welcoming staff, and beautiful ambiance of the restaurant. Many enjoy sitting outside to soak up the sun while indulging in generous portions of flavorful meals. Regulars recommend trying the fritters for breakfast and the heavenly pistachio chicken salad, along with freshly squeezed orange juice with ginger.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with genuine warmth and friendliness. The entire team radiates good vibes, creating an inviting and uplifting atmosphere. A special shoutout to our server Blessing – she truly lived up to her name! Attentive, kind, and full of positive energy. The food is made with fresh ingredients, and the fruit was incredibly sweet and flavorful. You can really taste the quality. The freshly pressed juices were also delicious – refreshing and full of natural flavor. The ambiance is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed brunch or a catch-up with friends. Final verdict: 5 stars – highly recommended!

I recently had brunch with the girls at this spot, and overall, it was a great experience! The prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious. We had a few minor issues. One of my friends ordered the chicken wrap, but it arrived without the advertised avocado. We had to ask for it, and it was served on the side. Our waitress seemed a bit unsure about the drinks menu and prices, but she was still friendly. The honey glazed thighs were tasty, although the honey flavors could have been more pronounced. Despite these , I'd definitely recommend this spot for a relaxed brunch with friends. The atmosphere is chilled, and you can easily have a conversation without shouting. Definite favorite.

If you want a light dish with fresh and healthier options, Tasha's is a good choice. I also loved my ginger shot and surprised to see it on a menu. The soup, salad, and taco's were a hit with us, very good. The drinks hit the spot as well. This was the perfect choice for an afternoon bite. The service was a little lacking and slow. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food and would return.

Tashas Melrose Arch – Where Style Meets Soulful Simplicity Tashas at Melrose Arch is a masterclass in contemporary dining—chic, vibrant, and effortlessly stylish. From the moment you walk in, the staff exude the perfect blend of professionalism and warmth. Service is intuitive, with staff members who are not just attentive but genuinely passionate about ensuring every guest enjoys an elevated experience. The food is where Tashas truly shines—every dish is a celebration of freshness, finesse, and thoughtful curation. The Livers on Toast is a standout: perfectly sautéed chicken livers served in a rich, garlic-infused gravy, complemented by roasted cherry tomatoes, rocket, and a soft fried egg atop rustic village bread. It’s comfort food refined with flair. Next, the Salmon Bagel—a delicate balance of flavors with herb horseradish crème, crispy capers, fresh rocket, fennel, and radish, all layered over silky smoked salmon and a warm, fluffy bagel. It’s indulgence with a light touch—ideal for brunch or a midday boost. For the health-conscious diner, the Peanut Protein Smoothie is a revelation. A creamy blend of peanut butter, banana, almond milk, chia seeds, agave, and a hint of cinnamon, it delivers both nutrition and satisfaction. Smooth, energizing, and perfectly balanced—it’s wellness in a glass. Price points reflect the quality and the premium location, but every rand spent feels justified. Portions are generous, presentation is elegant, and the flavor profiles are consistently impressive. The atmosphere? Effortlessly cosmopolitan. Think airy interiors, natural tones, vibrant energy, and a sense of occasion without pretension. Whether you’re people-watching on the patio or hosting a client over coffee, Tashas delivers an ambiance that adapts to your vibe—upscale yet unforced. #TashasMelroseArch #JohannesburgBrunch #LiversOnToast #SalmonBagelGoals #PeanutProteinFix #ChicEatsSA #MelroseArchEats #UrbanBrunchVibes #CleanEatingJozi #TashasLifestyle

A great example of the Tasha's franchise as the food is delicious and well plated, service is warm and professional and the atmosphere is typical of a popular cafe style restaurant. Very relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. The menu offers fantastic café style fare and the cocktails are well mixed and refreshing to sip on while you chat and wait for your food.

Krispy Kreme Rosebank, the latest addition to the iconic American doughnut brand's South African locations, is now open at Montecasino in Fourways. This new store offers a delightful array of treats for doughnut enthusiasts and sweet treat lovers alike. The menu features an assortment of affordable flavored doughnuts, hot beverages, and chillers that are sure to satisfy any craving.
Obsessed about Donuts, this is definitely the place to be. No place makes better donuts than these guys. Always fresh and plenty of options available

Lovely place, the doughnut is always nice, I think no one will make better than Krispy Kreme. The ice cream is good as well.
Gavin K — Google review
So not only do they do mass orders for collection for parties, the staff are so friendly, they make really good coffees, with cute messages that really brighten up the day and of course the doughnuts are made fresh and are really yummy. They also do not charge extra for lactose free alternatives!
Caitlin M — Google review
Absolutely stupid ordering system. You might be able to get some sort of traction if the staff feel OK, but if they don't, ordering requires two seperate counters and the luck of the God's in order to get coffee and a doughnut. Apparently, the manager is OK with loosing customers and does not acknowledge that there is an issue. I won't be going back here after being a loyal customer for quite some time. I will be instructing my family and friends to avoid them, and I'll take every opportunity to inform people of the absurdity of Krispy Kreme's ordering system. We need a real coffee shop in Rosebank, one that doesn't adhere to religious indoctrination and puts their customers first.
Mark N — Google review
Good sweet overload-perfect if you are not looking after your weight. Can definitely recommend the filled options-much better and better value for money-range could be a bit bigger but will satisfy most people’s cravings . Staff were pleasant and quick and store was clean. The doughnuts were totally viable for the whole of the next day(if they had lasted-but were eaten well before then).

Excellent experience. Probably the Krispy Kreme with the most seating I've seen, plus you have a nice view of how the donuts are made which the kids love.

The customer service was good. Friendly workers. The shop opens at 7am and closes at 9pm. They have a variety of delicious doughnuts. The space is clean and they have comfortable sitting areas both inside the store and outside the store.
