Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Nestled in 40 acres of woodlands, Roger Williams Park Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the country and a model for modern zoo design. The kid-friendly environment offers an opportunity to see over 100 species from around the world, including snow leopards, giraffes, elephants, zebras, red pandas, and more. Visitors can enjoy a petting zoo, wetlands trail, zipline adventure, and even take a ride on a vintage carousel.
This was the first time for my 6 and 4yo to go. They loved it! Wasn't very crowded so that was nice! And all the animals made appearances! My only complaint, was the price of food and how slow it was cooked. But it was tastey for chicken tenders and fries. We appreciated the military discount on entrance price especially with the rising costs of everything. Beautiful, clean, and not over crowded. All around win.

Our recent trip to the Roger Williams Park Zoo was a perfect outing for our family, earning it a solid four out of five stars. My wife and I took our five-year-old daughter, and it was a joy to watch her excitement as we explored. The zoo is incredibly well-suited for families with young children and provides a day full of fun and discovery. For a five-year-old, the highlight was undoubtedly the farmyard area. She absolutely loved brushing the friendly goats and getting to see them up close. It was a wonderful hands-on experience that made her feel connected to the animals. The train ride was another big hit, giving us a playful way to see parts of the zoo while taking a short break from walking. We were also thrilled to see the giraffes towering over us and the elephants in their indoor enclosure. Seeing the golden lion tamarins and the beautiful blue hyacinth macaws in their habitats was also very special. The clear map at the entrance was a huge help, allowing us to easily navigate with our little one and ensure we saw all the animals on her list. The zoo's focus on conservation is a huge plus, and we felt great about supporting their mission. In short, Roger Williams Park Zoo is a fantastic destination for a family outing. It’s a place that creates lasting memories, and we highly recommend it. We can’t wait to go back again soon.

Enjoy going here for the annual Jack-o-lantern Spectacular. The tickets for Spectacular are only available online. We visited during the dinosaur event they were having over the summer as well in addition to the zoo. Love this zoo and the variety of animals. The wild cats and penguins are some of my favorites.
Melissa D — Google review
Highly recommended!! Truly incredible experience at the Pumpkin Spectacular! We booked tickets for 8 pm. Arrived with a fast moving line, which had no wait. Check in was a breeze and for a Saturday night it was packed but didn’t feel like so as the trails are wide enough to accommodate a crowd. The pumpkins are amazing to look at, especially the artist carved ones. One of the coolest and most do October bucket list items in New England! We parked above the zoo which was a 10 minute walk to the entrance as it was free. The lines to park were long and do create a wait. Parking is free or you can pay $15 for premium parking which the lot was quite empty for. Bathrooms are available and food trucks of fried dough, adult beverages, snacks etc. Definitely an awesome date night or a fun night out with the family
Talia N — Google review
Best zoo, actually - first real zoo I’ve been to that I can remember. The animals were so beautiful to look at. My favorites were the camels, elephants and giraffes. Very easy to walk around, barely any hills. Being able to interact with some animals was nice too.
Brittney G — Google review
A great zoo for all age groups. There is so much to see that you can easily spend the day admiring the incredible collection of animals in a recreated microcosm of their native environment. Easy, leisurely, paved walking paths everyday along with signs and educational info on the various sights before you.
John M — Google review
I got to enjoy Halloween Family festival on October 18th. It was great fun and the animals love being photographed. We did not get tickets for the evening pumpkin stroll and plan to do the stroll next year.
Jennifer C — Google review
My wife and I went for the jack-o-lantern spectacular. This is an annual event held at the zoo in the evening. As always, it was absolutely amazing and outstanding. We both highly recommend it to anyone who wants to bring their children and or just themselves to see pumpkins car in the most artistic and fantastic way possible. There are over 5,000 pumpkins available to see, many of which are carved to be like Museum pieces of Art.

Museums
The RISD Museum is a major art museum housed in 5 buildings on the campus of Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design. The museum has collections from many different artists, including pieces by famous French Impressionists, ancient Egyptian sculptures, American paintings from the 18th century to contemporary works, and much more. The museum is very large and has many galleries with priceless paintings.
We had a wonderful time visiting the RISD Museum. It’s truly a rich and inspiring place, filled with impressive collections from around the world. The museum showcases both artistic and historical pieces, and every corner offers something meaningful to see. It’s not just a museum, but a place where you can spend hours discovering and learning. Anyone visiting Providence should definitely make sure to see this museum!

Rhode Island School of Design's Museum is a place to make yourself immerse in the world of mysterious artifacts and amazing work of art. I visited it with my friends and we were supposed to leave in an hour but ended up spending over 3 hours the reason, we felt like past, present and future were all here at once. A must visit place which not only showcases the best artwork from the world but also of the students who are painting the art for the coming generations. Highly recommended! I would like to visit it once again for sure. Kudos to everyone making our experience a memorable one.
Hritik — Google review
My family and I love to go to museums and we decided to check this one out due to the size. The employees could use some training when it comes to attitude. We found the front desk lady to lack some basic communication skills. I understand museums and security specially certain ones in corners etc. However I didn't feel comfortable with some of the security people following us around and staring us down when we'd be the only ones in the room. It didn't make me feel comfortable or like I could take the time to admire a piece. I wanted to leave 20 minutes in because of this. The museum is extremely large, expect to be here a minimum of 2 hours. The total admission for 3 adults was 66 dollars. Overall, I loved the art and pieces we did get to see. They're displayed quite well. Some even felt magical :)
Yamilca L — Google review
RISD has a bit of everything from modern all the way to ancient works. It took us a couple hours to go through the exhibits, and it's very well curated. The Liz Collins exhibit was intriguing, I was not familiar with her work. Check it out while it's still there. I also enjoyed the Pendleton house the museum essentially surrounds with period pieces of American making. The Asian and medieval exhibits were also highlights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The entrance is un assuming, and 30 ft from the street in the side of the building. You then take an elevator to the 3rd floor and start your way to the 6th floor. We were nearby on a Sunday and visited. Admission is free on Sundays. It's worth checking out!
John P — Google review
Rsid was amazing. I was in town for a conference and looking for something interesting and the fact that Sundays are free made it even better. I had an amazing time exploring the various levels of the museum. If I had a suggestion, it would be to have a shop there or make sure to tell visitors about the rsid store that is across the street. I found it on my own but might have missed it otherwise!
Gretchen P — Google review
Found this delightful art museum when visiting Providence on a whim one Sunday which turned out to be the bonus day when entry is free to all every Sunday The whole experience of visiting this place really uplifted me from the super helpful and friendly staff at the door to the many myriad of design art on display from many different cultures and across both historical and contemporary timelines As an Engineer, I left feeling creatively inspired by the many different art forms on display. I truly did enjoy my time walking through the well laid out exhibits
Eugene C — Google review
So much fun to explore! Beautiful exhibits! We had my 6 and 9 year old daughters with us and some staff was so sweet with them and informitive while others gave them dirty looks for pointing at painting not touching just pointing at things they liked about them. I felt uncomfortable in some areas when we were being followed like suspects. We didn't let it ruin our experience though and still explored everything.
Lacey P — Google review
First time visitors. What an amazing place. Helpful staff, beautifully displayed work. Spent about 2 hours here and enjoyed every minute. We are definitely not art or museum folks but this was a great way to spend a part of our day. Highly recommend

If you're visiting New England with kids, make sure to stop by the Providence Children's Museum in Rhode Island. This museum offers a hands-on learning environment with interactive programs designed for young children. It's a great place for kids between the ages of one and 11 to engage in creative play and exploration. From climbing tree houses to creating art in the Maker Studio, there are plenty of activities to keep little ones entertained.
This place is what dreams are made of. Slow down and enjoy each activity. It'll bring out the child in you while you transform your little cyber child into a creator. Thank you for the many wonderful, crafty ideas!

Nice little children's museum. We've been to children's museums all over the country and this is pretty standard. Smaller but they utilize the space well. My son appreciated the amount of puzzles and building opportunities that were available, along with the free-play/imagination space.
Megan M — Google review
Fun and engaging kids musuem and well worth the visit. individual areas are fun and engaging for the kids but not as big as expected. About 1 to 2 solid hours of fun is what i would expect from any visit.
Paqman — Google review
We visited with two adults and two kids - tickets came to $64, which felt a bit pricey since we only had about 45 minutes before closing. That said, the museum is really well-designed with tons of fun, hands-on activities for kids. The water room was definitely the highlight! Our kids could’ve stayed there for hours! The upstairs area also has plenty to explore and learn from. Overall, it’s a great spot for families, especially if you have more time to spend. I just wish the admission were a little more affordable for short visits.
Sazzie Z — Google review
I took my 4 year old here a few weeks ago and we had an absolute blast exploring the children's museum together. It has multiple levels with a lot to learn and do. We had a lot of fun in the water room, enjoyed building walls and knocking them down upstairs and my son really enjoyed playing with the pipes to make his own track. We spent about 2-3 hours here, which was plenty of time to explore everything and work up a good appetite for lunch.
Shane G — Google review
It’s a nice children’s museum and it is clean inside. It is popular and a lot of children inside, the parking is limited and not much left to park. The staff are very nice and keep this museum safe and comfortable, there are a lot to play . Including the water area, historical area, scientific area, etc. it’s a good place to stop and let the children to play around 1 hour.
Hills L — Google review
Both of our children have loved this museum through the years. The water room remains the most popular spot. We normally wear a bathing suit and swim shoes to go, start in the water room, change up and head upstairs. That's a perfect break for a snack or lunch. There's a dining area and you can bring your own food. We always find playmates and there's plenty of toys and props for everyone.
Alyssa G — Google review
The Providence Children’s Museum is an absolute gem for families looking for an engaging, educational, and fun-filled experience. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is inviting, colorful, and full of energy, making it the perfect place for kids to explore and learn through play. The exhibits are incredibly well-designed, catering to a variety of interests and age groups. The Water Ways exhibit was a huge hit, allowing kids to experiment with flowing water, pipes, and fountains in a hands-on way. The ThinkSpace section encourages problem-solving and creativity, while the Littlewoods area is perfect for younger children to safely play and explore. One of the standout features is how interactive everything is—kids aren’t just looking at exhibits; they’re fully immersed in them! The museum is also very well-maintained, with clean facilities and friendly, helpful staff who ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. There are plenty of seating areas for parents to take a break while still keeping an eye on their children. Overall, the Providence Children’s Museum is a must-visit for families in the area. It’s a place where kids can let their imaginations run wild, all while learning and having a great time. Highly recommended!

Park
Roger Williams Park is a sprawling 427-acre city park in Providence, Rhode Island, known for its extensive trails, sports facilities, and picturesque picnic spots. The park features a serene pond where visitors can enjoy leisurely rides on swan boats. It is recognized as one of America's top urban parks and was designed by the renowned landscape architect Horace Cleveland.
Great place to go while in Providence for all ages! I took my son here and we went on the carousel, the train ride and then played at the playground. They have a little concession stand with ice cream and drinks which was great. They also had a great walking trail for people that need to walk their baby in their stroller to take a nap! Peaceful and pretty flowers everywhere with great opportunities for photos. Highly recommend!
Christie C — Google review
Roger Williams Park is an absolute gem in Providence! The grounds are beautifully maintained, perfect for a peaceful walk, family picnic, or scenic drive. The zoo is fantastic, especially for kids, and the botanical center is stunning year-round. There’s always something to explore, from swan boats to playgrounds and art installations. It’s a perfect blend of nature, fun, and education — definitely one of the best urban parks in New England!
Mohammed A — Google review
There is lots of territory to cover in the park and it includes both historical sites for armchair scholars and fun stuff for kids. However, it's hard to walk this park. There are no real sidewalks in the park and you have to contend with traffic if you try to go anywhere on foot. Parking was also a challenge on the weekend.
Thomas P — Google review
A great zoo with lots of animals. Alot of construction happening currently that took away from the experience and highly.recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks bc the food is very over priced but the exhibits are well maintained and the animals are easy to locate in their exhibits which can be problematic at other zoos. Kids under 2 are free.
Meredith — Google review
Local resident here. I walk this park all year round and I notice in the fall workers are busy blowing leaves mowing here and there, and picking up branches and debris. But in summer time it's total opposite. The land scape maintenance around trails and flats has been getting worser. They mainly cut grass around popular tourist area like Temple of music...etc. The rest is atrocious! I don't understand the concept of hiring more employees and doing less work. Only people that walk through the park and trails know, tourist driving in their vehicle would never tell the difference it's just a facade.
Weezay J — Google review
So worth all the hype about this place! They have everything inside. You can simply go for a walk or spend the entire day having all sorts of fun! Parking is free all over the park and there’s something for everyone!
Regina K — Google review
A beautiful, sprawling park filled with trees and long trails perfect for walking, hiking and running. There are various routes you can take to extend your run anywhere from 3 to 7 miles. The park has several areas you can visit. I visited a beautiful Japanese village area, along with a nice lake and some playground spots too.

Nestled in the heart of Providence, the Rhode Island State House is a stunning example of neoclassical architecture that beckons both history buffs and photography enthusiasts alike. Completed in 1904 by the renowned firm McKim, Mead & White, this magnificent structure features the world's fourth-largest self-supported marble dome, crowned by the iconic Independent Man statue.
The state house is an absolutely beautiful building. We did the free guided tour and found that to be very enjoyable and informative. There is a tremendous amount of history that you can study and see. The original painting of George Washington by Gilbert Stuart was amazing to see in person. In the library, the kids really enjoyed seeing the rocks from the moon and the small Rhode Island flag that traveled up to the moon. The entire place is filled with ornate architecture!! Very beautiful and mesmerizing 😊
Jacob J — Google review
A beautiful neoclassical building that was built between 1891-1901; located in the heart of downtown Providence. This building can be seen from the Prospect Terrace park, it's also grand and magnificent up close. The dome is massive and it's the fourth largest marble dome in the world. The RI Senate is in the east wing and the RI House of Representatives are in the west wing; there are also the State library and Room. A gold statue called the Independent Man is perched on top of the grand dome. I have fond memories and even pictures of when I was younger in front of this building. It's a photogenic spot to take those Instagram photos. I recently stayed at the hotel next door and enjoyed seeing this building during my stay. We walked around the grounds and admired the architecture and history. Every December, they have a Christmas tree displayed in the rotunda. The grounds were nicely maintained; a beautiful structure and an important piece of Rhode Island history. If you're in Providence, I highly recommend walking the grounds and admire this historic landmark.
Kim V — Google review
Guided tours take you through its grand marble halls, where you can see the impressive dome—the fourth largest self-supported marble dome in the world. Inside, you’ll find historic paintings, statues, and the original Royal Charter of 1663. The guides share fascinating stories about Rhode Island’s role in American history and the building’s design. It’s a quick but memorable visit.

We had the opportunity/honor to visit the Rhode Island State House in JUL_FY2024 and it was an amazing experience, a great opportunity to learn more about RI's history and legacy. We did a plant tour and for sure it's a remarkable building. Definitely, it's a place that deserves my respect. It was a privilege.
Robertson S — Google review
Great architecture and the grounds around this building are very well manicured.

Beautiful building and grounds. We walked by on our way to the Vet. Will stop in and take a tour on our next visit to Providence.

A infrastructural marvel and a building of historical landmark - Rhode Island State House was designed by McKim, Mead & White which which features the fourth largest structural-stone dome in the world. It's uniqueness not only lies in the precision that has been carved but with the serenity of the place. A must visit place situated in the heart of downtown Providence. You could easily spend hours inside as well as outside enjoying the day.
Hritik — Google review
The State House of Rhode Island is a stunning representation of architecture and history, featuring one of the largest self-supporting domes made of marble in the world. Its majestic rotunda and intricate details showcase the state's heritage within, but it's most definitely a must-see for history and architecture enthusiasts alike. State House offers free docent-led tours on Mondays through Fridays at 10 AM and 1 PM.

If you're looking to explore the world of nature in all its glory, then the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium is definitely worth a visit. With over 250,000 objects on display, it has something for everyone interested in learning about flora and fauna. Plus, the museum offers educational programs that can help you learn more about the natural world.
Extremely cheap, only costs $2 but it is a wonderful museum. It has so many artifacts and taxidermied animals, along with lots of easy to understand descriptions. You can also fill out question sheets as you go along (good for keeping little ones entertained and helping them learn). I loved it, and it is a must see if you are in Providence
AP — Google review
We visited on a early Saturday afternoon in mid-June 2025. There was a small parking lot on the side of the building and it was about 2/3 full. There was also street parking. It was also a overcast and drizzly kind of afternoon. The sidewalk was being repaired at the time of our visit so we had to walk through the grass to get around. There is a cost ($2) to enter. The tickets can be purchased online (just give them your name) but also at kiosk to the right when you enter. You kind of get what you pay for here. This is also the merch kiosk and it's kind of small and didn't really have anything with museum's name on it. Just kind of generic museum merch. The lobby was very large and a cool mural if you look up at the ceiling. The bathrooms are also here in the main lobby, men's on one side and women's on other. The exhibits start immediately to the left and you go through a few different rooms. There are stairs in in the middle of the lobby that goes upstairs with more exhibits. The area with the planetarium is still a work in progress it looks like with many empty display cases. My favorite was the space area. There was also a Polynesian looking room we were calling the "Moana room". The changing planet room with the huge taxidermy polar bears was interesting. We did not pay extra for the planetarium show and at about 1 hr, the kids were done and ready to leave. Overall I'd probably not visit here again unless we were trying to kill some time or maybe watch the planetarium show. Definitely worth the first visit.
David L — Google review
For a small entrance fee you get a visit in a small but very interesting museum. You see an exhibition from island cultures in Oceania, a space exhibition. Thumbs up what they pit together in limited space.

Small but mighty museum with great pieces. The planetarium experience was really a treat.

Came here on a Saturday and got to see the Planetarium Show. Tickets are $5 which includes the show and admission fee. Many fun facts on animals, nature and the solar system. It was very busy and loud so I do recommend coming on a weekday vs the weekend; worth a visit!

Small museum with animals, minerals and other things mixed In the rooms. But for 2 usd no complains. If you add 3 usd to that, you can take a 30 min show in the planetarium and that one is very nice. Free parking

I really enjoyed the Planetarium show! It’s such a cute little spot to visit and spend some time with seeing the exhibits here. I liked that the planetarium show reflects what the constellation and stars would be like to the forecast / alignment of the stars and planets for that season.

This free event takes place on the three rivers that converge in downtown Providence, where 100 small bonfires are set ablaze on the rivers while ambient music plays from the river banks. The flickering fires create a romantic atmosphere, casting a warm glow over the entire river.
I attended WaterFire on the Fourth of July and had a wonderful experience. The event was thoughtfully organized and offered a memorable alternative to traditional fireworks. Nearly 100 bonfires lined the rivers, creating an atmosphere that felt both peaceful and inspiring. The combination of music, firelight, and the crowd’s energy made the evening feel special. It was easy to walk along the riverwalk and take in different perspectives, and the vendors added a nice touch without feeling overwhelming. I appreciated how the event blended art and community in such a unique way. Highly recommend experiencing WaterFire if you’re in Providence.

Great event, different stands with food and drinks. A good walking stretch with music and food. The fire baskets throughout the street are mesmerizing. Perfect for romantic dates or outing with friends. Enjoy! We parked at the State house, it was free and no traffic in or out. Enjoy!

Support your local art scene!! A long standing institution in Providence, it's a great event to enjoy community, vendors, drinks, and just be in the moment and appreciate the city in a unique way. It's such a cool thing that has been happening for 30 years. Unfortunately, the full lighting on 5/31/25 was not super crowded and the coffers were looking low. Granted, it was a cold night - but with everything going on in the world, it's worth coming together as a community and not forgetting tradition and togetherness.

WaterFire in the heart of Providence is pure magic—flickering rivers of fire with over 80 bonfires, ethereal music drifting through the evening air, and shimmering reflections gliding across the water. It's a breathtaking marriage of art, fire, and humans that ignites the city and makes it an unforgettable dreamscape on Saturdays. Be sure to check the event calendar beforehand, and keep in mind that parking will be tough.

I visited in the fall, which happened to coincide with the Brown University homecoming day. WaterFire is an enjoyable experience if you do not mind a crowd on a night with nice weather. People of all ages enjoy the festivities. While some areas are dimly lit so the fires can have a visual impact, most walkways are easy to navigate despite the lighting. Parking may be difficult to find on the city streets. While visiting area of Providence, I park at the State House, which allows free parking when not in session.

It was cool. Once you got the hx of the festival it made more sense. High light was the robot 🤖 . Down side no food vendors that catered to vegan or vegetarians. The magic show guy ignored all the brown and black kids (the very few that were there) and it was awkward.
Sutarshia J — Google review
It's a great time for everyone, live music, every vendor you can think of, alot of close restaurants and bars, weather you go early and catch the lightning ceremony or just getting there after dusk.

Very festive and nice. Live music and recordered music were not intersecting, the whole river walk was super relaxing. Recommend to any tourists in the area;)

Located in Providence, the university is part of a vibrant cultural scene that includes the Rhode Island School of Design and Johnson & Wales. Visitors can experience the city at its best during Waterfire weekends from late May to October, featuring an award-winning open-air art installation with over eighty bonfires along the rivers.
I loved it - clicked with it immediately! Beautiful, gorgeous university, great location, beautiful buildings and classrooms. We felt great there! Of course, it's also a prestigious Ivy League School, so any student would be very lucky to be here!

Visiting Brown University was a wonderful and peaceful experience. Beautiful architecture buildings and lots of green lawns. It’s less crowded than Harvard. We enjoy walking around the campus and also visited the cafeteria.

Established in 1764 as Baptist School at Warren, Rhodes Island, moved to college hill at Providence in 1770 and renamed Brown University ( Ivy League member ) in 1804. It's ranked 73rd worldwide (QS) and 9th within the USA.Central Campus (15 acres on hill top) has historical beautiful buildings resembling Oxford or Harvard. It's nice to stroll in Thayer Street leisurely. Has additional 100+ acres land for expansion and grounds. Has the headcount of students around 10,000.Admission acceptance rate is 6%. Has high tuition fees, much inconvenient for middle-class families or international students.Beautiful downtown is 5 minutes away. Science and medicine are disciplines known as excellence here. Recommend tour of the university while at Providence, RI.

Went for a visit at Brown University for a campus tour at noon. It was a spectacular day. Our guide was a lovely young lady who was a second year student, extremely knowledgeable and filled with pride. She answered many questions during the 1.5 hour campus tour. Things to know: there is metered street parking some with 2 hr limits. Funny thing is there are some “unmetered” spots because the meters don’t match the parking spaces. It’s confusing. 😆
Muniz M — Google review
Beautiful traditional architecture in the seemingly endless campus grounds, stately brown stone buildings, meticulous landscaping and wide-open green spaces. Thayer street is lively, and hosts a variety of small casual restaurants and cafes featuring cuisine from 3 continents (at least). The area feels quite safe, well maintained and pleasant in every way, compared to most other areas in Providence.

This review is strictly focused on the Brown University campus, and not the actual curriculum, because we have almost no shot of getting into the University. This campus is so historically gorgeous in architecture, location and layout, it really surrounds you. The capitol city of Providence is the background for the entire experience. I fell in love with Brown, and I've lived close by for 35 years. ❤️

Brown university- An amazing Ivy League school historical to the city of Providence. They have one the best architectures. Campus is super clean. Make a trip on the weekend when parking is easily available and if not then you should be able to find nearby the campus for $3-$15. They have around 7 public lots available for parking. They have tonne of restaurants in the vicinity.

The John Brown House Museum offers a glimpse into the social and cultural history of early America through guided and audio tours. The 1786 home of merchant John Brown is described as 'the most magnificent and elegant mansion' by President John Quincy Adams. The house showcases French wallpapers, decorative details, original Brown family furniture, and pieces by Rhode Island cabinetmakers. Situated within Providence's Museum Mile, the museum is part of a collection of excellent museums in close proximity.
This was a memorable experience for us! We spent around 1.5 hours here and the staff were friendly and we had the best guide here who explained every detail about the history of this place to us patiently. They had student discount as well.

I unexpectedly enjoyed the John Brown House Museum. As a Black female, I ignorantly believed that I would feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. So far from the truth. It was fun reading the plaques under each exhibit and analyzing how those times connnected to the present or my own life. My favorite part was the section on John Brown's involvement in the Transatlantic Slave Trade. I also thoroughly enjoyed the conversations the staff and I engaged in. They were able to answer any question I asked and extremely open to feedback on how they could continue to make the museum culturally appropriate for all. I recommend everyone visit this site.

The Providence Performing Arts Center is a grand 1920s theater that hosts a variety of performances, including Broadway shows, plays, concerts, and musicals. It's also the venue for big-ticket touring musicals like Rent and The Producers. Additionally, it showcases traveling dance companies and other attractions. As the home of the Trinity Repertory Company, it offers new plays alongside classics by Chekov, Albee, and Shakespeare.
Cool venue for a Dark Star Orchestra show! Easy parking, great sound and sight lines, friendly and helpful staff. Really comfy old theater with a big high ceiling lobby and a great balcony. Kept looking around at the building during the show.

Beautiful theater and friendly staff! In our 25+ years of attending shows and events here we have never had a problem. Great memories of attending shows with family and friends. Parking is relatively easy with options from paid lots and street parking to a large parking garage both in front and behind the theater. While seeing a show in Boston is great, Providence is so much easier and there are many great food options in the area too! Video is from Lindsey Stirling’s Holiday tour. Fun fact: the PPAC used to be an old movie theater back in the day and was renovated into a theater for live productions.

Watched Shen Yun there. The shows was nice and the ballet dancers were very good. Has a couple of “stories” that are cute for kids! I was expecting a little more “ballet” in traditional Chinese dance. Had to do with choreography that anything else. Overall fun afternoon. There are like 3-4 parking lots, one literally across the street.

Amazing theater! Staff was polite, seating was great and the show was out of this world. Saw Riverdance in April 2025 and would recommend anyone that has a chance to see the show, not to pass up the opportunity. Parking and traffic is horrible. The garage across the street is over $50 for a couple of hours of show time. It was pouring out so we took this option but there is no sign of the cost until you park and go to the kiosk to pay. By that time your going to pay it but it was a shock.

Five stars! I went to the Providence Performing Arts Center to see Thorn and it was an unforgettable night. The theater is absolutely stunning — from the architecture to the lighting and sound. My friend and I went last night to see Harry Potter and it was amazing! Beyond amazing! I cant say anything negative about this place! We cant wait to see future shows. The show was magical! Warning for tickets though. We searched Providence Performing Arts Center to buy our tickets a few weeks ago. The top link (which we thought was ppac) actually was a scam site. The link was .net instead of .org and we had no idea. Please watch what link you press, Go Tickets is a scam website. 2 tickets cost $290 with Go Tickets, which we thought was high but just figured prices increased. We got to the venue and our tickets were never delivered so we had to buy new ones. Same section but closer, we only paid $120. Go Tickets has been harrassing us for hours now, but they still never sent the tickets. PPAC is aware and they cautioned us to make sure we use the .org in the future. The .net site had all the same logos and information though, so be aware.

The carousel is fine and isn’t too expensive. But avoid the train ride. It was $3 per person and it literally circled the building, went down a short path for 20 seconds and then came back. They claimed it would be 5 minutes but there is no way it was more than 2 minutes. Total waste of money.

India Point Park is a small green space nestled in 40 acres of woodlands, offering stunning views of Providence Harbor and Seekonk River. It's a perfect spot for families to enjoy picnics, leisurely walks, and outdoor activities like frisbee. The park also serves as the starting point for the East Bay Bike Path, which leads to Watchemoket Square in East Providence and continues on to Bristol and the Mount Hope Bridge.
What a beautiful playground set within a lovely park in a beautiful, waterside location. The breeze off the water felt amazing! The playground is mostly FENCED in, which gives parents a little peace of mind. There are lots of places to sit, and several picnic tables which makes having a meal there very convenient. The playground had a sort of nautical theme, which felt appropriate to the location, and there were lots of cool rope structures and activities to tackle. A good amount for kids of all ages, including a nice structure/area for the under 5 crowd.

This park is on the bay, where the Providence and Seekonk rivers meet, and located in the Fox Point neighborhood of Providence. It was established in 1680 as the first port in Providence; it was a major transportation hub for material goods and passengers. Tea and spices were traded with the East and West Indies, hence the name India Point. Steamships transported passengers from Baltimore, Miami, and Philadelphia. There's so much history there. There was a wide fishing dock and plenty of people fishing on it when we went; signs all around mentioning to not gut the fish on the dock, once caught, for obvious reasons. A beautiful walking path with views of the water. There were old wooden poles sticking out of the water which I'm assuming were old docks. There were plenty of green space and benches throughout. My toddler enjoyed the fenced in playground; it had a beautiful stone wall with art on it, swings, slides, climbing playscapes, benches, and tables. There was a large soccer field adjacent to the playground. A pedestrian bridge which goes over 1-195 can be accessed there as well as the East Bay bike path. There are many events that takes place there like the annual fourth of July celebrations. Overall, a lovely park with an immense amount of history!

Swan Point Cemetery, established in 1846 and spanning over 200 acres, is a prestigious burial ground listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It holds the remains of historical figures like H.P. Lovecraft and is where Edgar Allen Poe's marriage proposal was rejected. The cemetery's beautifully landscaped grounds offer a serene setting for family outings, with miles of unpaved paths winding through neat rows of graves.

My favorite cemetery of all time. Some of the most beautiful foliage and plant life I've ever seen. Grounds are maintained beyond perfect. The only complaint I have is that the security guards are very invasive sometimes. When I'm taking a walk they will follow you around in their car. I had a security guard threaten to kick me out once because I was taking some photos. No dogs allowed. Beautiful wildlife here as well.

This seemingly endless cemetery on the East Side is a great place to come for some peace and quiet. The many winding and intersecting roads make it easy to get lost in here, especially since there are so many beautiful gravestones and obelisks throughout. There are a couple of paths that go down to the banks of the Seekonk River. It’s nice that they allow cycling here (only at “slow” speeds), as exploring the entire cemetery on foot would take hours.

This place is spectacular! It’s a lot smaller than the one in Boston, but it’s also a place that’s accessible to everyone, and you just pay what you can, which I think is a really great way of doing it. The upper levels were very, very creaky. They made me a little nervous that the floor might not hold so I didn’t stay up there very long, but the layout of the building is so unique. It was really fun to get to climb the stairs and to see all of those ladders everywhere like something from beauty and the beast. I also really appreciated the variety! I explored some of the reformation writers, and then I went downstairs and there were some books on display written about disability or Palestine or other important topics and I just appreciated being aware that these books exist! So much breadth in such a small space. I could not figure out how to access the elevator. The handicap parking spot is out front at the very base of a massive staircase. It’s also on a hill, so I think it said the elevator was around back, but you would have to go up the hill to get to it, which is for all practical purposes not accessible. The building is really really old so that’s probably why. I took those stairs very slowly, and I did make it up, and it was worth the trip.

We got married in the Athenaeum this past June. It was the perfect venue for us and we really appreciated all that the staff did to accommodate us. We're thankful for being able to make use of the library's existing soft furniture during the reception in the downstairs reading room and months out our guests are still talking about how beautiful a venue the library was.

11.9.24 This is the cutest, most organized, compact, quaint little library we've been to. Most visitors who "pop-by" can't get enough photos because of the layout and the history it contains. It even gets closed /rented out for private events. It's free to visit and free street parking.

The Stephen Hopkins House, located in Providence, Rhode Island, is a landmark museum and National Historic Landmark. Built between 1707 and 1742, this house was the residence of Governor Stephen Hopkins, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. It showcases colonial-era antiques and architecture, offering visitors a glimpse into the past. Situated on Benefit Street, it holds significant historical importance as the place where Governor Hopkins signed the historic document that split the United States from Britain.
I would like to start my review with the tourist guide who actually invited us to visit this place. So, we were roaming around and guide asked us to take a look into that place and history related to it. Since i was visiting from Canada, i had no clue who Stephen Hopkins was but after the tour, I actually read a lot about him and his life experience. This house is a great place to visit if you’re interested to see how people used to live in colonial society. Everything related to Stephen Hopkins is still placed in that house and history is very interesting.

Would have loved to see this. In fact, rearranged plans to make time for it. Came during business hours and no one is here. No phone number to call. Just an email address. Website couldn't be less informative about visiting in general, but to the best of our knowledge they are supposed to be open 10am to 4pm. Not the case. Pretty disappointing.

Y'know...I've been to my share of museums, and the long and short of it is this: 1) The less crowded, the better 2) The more hands on, the better 3) The guide, if afforded the opportunity to have one, makes or breaks the whole thing. We got here at 10am (opening) on a scorching hot Saturday, and we were joined by only one other intrepid scholar. Check one in our museum-fun favor. Marjorie (the guide) took us right in. She kept apologizing for the heat, but her warmth and her candor was way more overwhelming. She is a gem and we had a delightful time learning about early Providence. Oh, and she let us carry the water pot...bro, we are PAMPERED with our plumbing and innoculations. Of note: I'm impressed with both this house and John Brown's house up the street for their willingness to engage with the stain of slavery head on in both exhibits. For any nerds like me and my lady out there, this is a fine hour spent in RI. Oh, and it's freaking FREE, so leave a good tip and sign the guestbook... otherwise, the grants stop coming in....sigh.

Trinity Repertory Company, located at 201 Washington St., is a vibrant dramatic arts venue in Providence. It features two theater stages where a diverse range of performances including plays, musicals, films, and educational programs take place. The company showcases new plays alongside classics by Chekov, Albee, and Shakespeare. Under the leadership of artistic director Curt Columbus, Trinity Repertory Company has become a rich cultural destination with an abundance of creative and exciting options for visitors to explore.
I bought my 14 yr old daughter tickets to see A Christmas Carol for Christmas this year. They were reasonably priced and I wanted to introduce her to the world of live theater. This was my first time at Trinity so I didn't know what to expect. First of all, the INSIDE LOBBY is beautifully decorated. You are allowed to purchase water, alcoholic drinks, popcorn, and they even have a hot cocoa station. I found the prices to be a bit high but that's to be expected. The Theater Area was small with not many seats, which I wasn't sure I would like at first. Kind of like going to a Movie Theater. But as the show began I found myself enjoying the smaller, more personal experience. It drew me in as if I were part of the play itself. The Acting was great and the Scene Design fit perfectly. My daughter and I had a wonderful time and would definitely visit again. I just wish they had more than a handful of plays per year

I took my daughter to see La Tempestad and it was phenomenal! Shakespear with a touch of modernism and the cast was outstanding 😊 the theater wasn’t too big as well so we could get seats directly next to the stage it felt so immersive! We loved the experience! We don’t speak Spanish but it wasn’t hard to read the subtitles and still stay with the show! Bravo to the cast!!! ⭐️

Went here for the first time this weekend to watch Christmas Carol. What a great experience!! All the staff are friendly and helpful as you look for your seat. Great classic story with a twist. I chose a front seat because I’d never been but it’s a small cozy place with a great layout so there is no bad seat in the house! Highly recommend it.

The Lippitt House Museum in Providence, Rhode Island, is a well-preserved historical site that offers a fascinating look into the Victorian era. Originally built in 1865 by the prominent Lippitt family, this grand house showcases exquisite architecture, period furnishings, and decorative arts. Visitors can explore the history of the house and learn about the lifestyle of its former residents.
I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Lippitt House Museum, and what a dream it was. We had 45 guests and it was perfect for a more intimate event. The house itself is absolutely gorgeous, and I received many compliments! Jane was also very easy to work with and very accommodating. She was prompt in answering all of my questions, and helped ensure that I had a stress free day. Just a few notes if you decide to use Lippitt house as your venue, if you want a outdoor ceremony you have to provide your own chairs. Inside we has access to tables, banquet chairs, and high tops but you will have to provide all linens and additional decorations (though the venue is so beautiful you hardly need to decorate anything beyond centerpieces). I highly recommend Lippitt House for any events!

We took the guided tour and had a very enthusiastic guide who knew many esoteric details of the Lippitt family's history. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Don't expect the grandiosity of the Newport mansions, but go moreso to learn a bit of the daily life in and around Providence in the 19th century.

Last Friday, we had the pleasure of touring the historic Lippitt House in Providence—and it was absolutely amazing! What made the experience truly unforgettable was our guide, Elizabeth Gilbert (not the author of Eat, Pray, Love, but THE Elizabeth Gilbert who brings history to life). Her tour was informative, engaging, and full of fascinating details that transported us straight into the elegance of Victorian times. If you're visiting magical Providence, don’t miss this gem. It's a beautiful step back in time, guided by someone who clearly loves what she does.

Nice outdoor skating facility. We actually did the ice bumper cars and had a blast. They had a little indoor area with heater to wait for your turn. The staff was very friendly and the price was right. Each session is for 20 minutes which was just long enough. Any longer we would have been way too cold.

Went to ice skate but the girls working there wouldn't let us in for the feinstein day because you had to be in by at 3pm and we got there at 3:04 because we had to park far and walk because there is never anywhere to park. So we still had fun at the wonderful playground next door to the skating center. So all and all it was a beautiful day.

It's not just for ice skating but also for bumper car rides. The latter usually begins in the late evening and is priced $12 for a 20-minute ride on the rink. Arrive early to sign all the needed forms. The place is in a convenient location in downtown Providence, just across the street from City Hall and the historic Biltmore Hotel.

Update 2024- ice is still terrible and was never resurfaced. Went for festive holiday experience but speakers were broken so there was no music and the only festive lights were half out on one tree. Disappointing experience. Ice was awful when we arrived, we were told resurfacing would happen in approximately 15 minutes so we bought 6 tickets. 25 minutes later we were told that ice resurfacing wouldn’t occur for another hour. We left. A waste of 36$ plus parking.

Providence Place is a modern and vibrant multilevel retail center located in the heart of the city. It offers a wide array of well-known brand-name stores, casual dining options, and even a multiplex cinema for entertainment. The mall also provides various activities such as watching mimes perform in Memorial Park, enjoying jazz performances on Steeple Street, or participating in ballroom dancing. Additionally, visitors can take a gondola ride with La Gondola for an unforgettable experience.
Nice shopping mall in a small walkable city of Providence. Experience (a little bit of) city life in the relaxing and quiet state of Rhode Island. I missed the days of spending weekends pushing stroller in the mall, enjoying some food, doing some shopping, watching movies. One time, my wife and myself were relaxing with our baby daughter sitting in the stroller. A nice old gentleman stopped by and tried to make a small talk. Before he left, he asked "Don't you know who I am?". We had no clue. He must be disappointed that we did know him being Mr. Feinstein. To be honest, I am still not sure who he was. Must be a billionaire/ rich famous person. :-)

Mall looks a bit dated but it has all the major mall stores and the some. Great food court.
Benjamin H — Google review
Wow, what a fantastic mall. We walked over to look for 1 thing and found a half a dozen unique stores we just loved. This rivals some of the biggest malls we've been to including Tysons Corner, VA.
Shawn F — Google review
The mall looks nice from the outside but inside looks a bit abandoned, but that was just my first perception. Nice shops and dining options.
M. B — Google review
This is a unique shopping place. The shops are all on this. The top floors and the parking is at the lower level, which is actually street level. So you see the parking lots before you actually see the stores, I thought that was very unique, very funny, but anyway, it was okay like many other places, it had 1 or 2 unique stores there. Well, you can make your own soaps and perfume. And also a craft store where you could do your own poor over a um a figurine.
Mimi R — Google review
It's a great mall, very extensive. Love that there is a movie theater and a Dave N Busters. Fun stores as well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars though is because a mouse ran past me in the food court
Chosen O — Google review
We really love this mall! It’s always clean, has a great mix of stores, and feels welcoming every time we visit. It’s one of the few places left with that classic mall atmosphere. We truly hope it never closes down like so many others — it’s a special place for our community!
MZ6 S — Google review
Really nice mall—huge, with lots of stores and plenty of parking. The parking rates are very reasonable, which is a big plus. Just be sure to remember your parking spot and which elevator you take, since sometimes you’ll need two elevators to get from the garage into the mall. Once you figure out the layout, getting around is a breeze. The food court is average, but the variety of stores makes this a great place to shop.

Nestled within the expansive Roger Williams Park, the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center is a hidden gem that transcends the typical botanical garden experience. This vibrant oasis features New England's largest glasshouse display and encompasses four greenhouses, each brimming with diverse plant life. Visitors can wander through enchanting summer and winter gardens, navigate a whimsical rose maze, or relax in a pollinator meadow teeming with life.
We visited on a late Saturday afternoon in mid-June 2025. There was a large parking lot with plenty of spots. The center closed at 4PM and we arrived around 3PM. Last entry is at 3:30. We did pay the $5 (13-64 yr old) and $2 (6-12 yr old, military and 65+). Under 6 was free. There is a little booth with gates next to it as the entrance. If you're not paying attention you could miss it. We did pre-buy our tickets online so we just had to give them in our names and we were good to go. The website had time slots but we were told that this was a left over from COVID and they just haven't updated their website yet. We didn't have much time so we wanted to hit our must dos and headed straight for the green houses. There was a really cool atrium area that was kind of tropical. There was a couple doing what looked like wedding photo shoots in there. There are a bunch of water features as well. Great spot for some photography. There is a large concrete hallway to the right which lead to a bunch of other thematic areas. The kids enjoyed the carnivorous plant exhibit. Not a bunch of variety when we were there but it may have been to time of year as well. My youngest enjoyed the desert area which had tons of different cacti. There is also a outdoor kids play area and indoor play area. We did mess around here for a little bit as there weren't too many little kids around. We did end up heading out to the rose maze area to take a quick look and outdoor areas too. We did spent a little more time here than the natural history museum about 75 mins and the kids were ready to go by the end. I would've totally stayed longer if they weren't closing. We really rush through a lot of it. Overall a great experience and the price was reasonable for what we got. I wish we had more time. We would definitely visit again if we were in the area.

What a gem! We visited because of the Rain Harvest Festival and a concurrent PVD Bike Jam event on a Sunday. After walking around the summer garden and rose maze, we visited the greenhouses, which are the star of the center. The variety of different plants and the well-maintained greenhouses were really impressive. There were tons of spaces to entertain kids and this is clearly a great place for families with young children. Separate from the areas for children, there were lots of serene spots for people to sit and relax. I highly recommend visiting!

A wedding photographer's perspective: Roger Williams Botanical Center is an absolute dream of a wedding venue! I've worked her multiple times and it's always beautiful. Oh my goodness, so beautiful!!! 🤩 Plenty of exotic plants and most are in a greenhouse so they stay alive and you can stay warm while browsing at this time of year. Many decorations that suit the plants, especially the ponds and waters, most are big enough to take selfies with. Rhode Island School of Design, widely known as RISD, stands as one of the world's most prestigious and influential institutions for art and design education. Its reputation is built on a foundation of rigorous training, conceptual exploration, and a deep commitment to creative inquiry. For anyone serious about pursuing a career in the arts, RISD offers an environment that is both intensely challenging and exceptionally rewarding. A cornerstone of the RISD education is its renowned Foundation Year, a required program for all first year undergraduate students. This immersive experience grounds students in the fundamental principles of drawing, two dimensional design, and three dimensional design. This shared foundation fosters a common vocabulary and a strong sense of community among students before they enter their specialized majors. The faculty at RISD are a major draw for aspiring artists and designers. The instructors are not just academics; they are distinguished, practicing professionals who are leaders in their respective fields. They bring real world experience and a high level of expertise into the classroom and studio. This allows students to receive mentorship that is both technically proficient and relevant to the current landscape of the art and design worlds. The school maintains a low student to faculty ratio, ensuring that students get personalized attention and meaningful critiques to push their work forward. The campus itself is a hub of creative energy. The facilities are extensive and provide students with the tools and resources to bring nearly any idea to life. From traditional printmaking presses and metalworking shops to advanced digital fabrication labs and computer resources, the school is equipped for both age old techniques and cutting edge innovation. A unique and invaluable asset is the RISD Museum, located on campus. With a world class collection of art and design spanning history and cultures, the museum serves as a vital educational resource, offering students direct access to inspiring works of art. The student body is comprised of talented and highly motivated individuals from around the globe, creating a dynamic and stimulating atmosphere. The culture at RISD is one of intense focus and hard work, with studios often active at all hours. However, this intensity also fosters a strong collaborative spirit. Students are constantly surrounded by peers who are equally passionate about their work, leading to an environment where inspiration and critical dialogue flourish. In summary, Rhode Island School of Design provides a comprehensive and transformative education. It equips students with the technical skills, conceptual depth, and critical thinking abilities necessary to succeed. Graduates from RISD are known for their innovation, discipline, and unique creative voices, and they go on to become leaders across a vast spectrum of creative industries. It is an institution that truly shapes the future of art and design.

I received my mrs degree here in 2012 to a guy a couple years my junior in everything but earnings. I do believe my degree prepared me with the critical mind to discern between silk and polyester as well as truth and bull ****. In all seriousness, this is a wonderful school for those who know what they want to do, but need to be challenged to be more exacting and deliberate. All of my peers in design fields landed excellent jobs almost right away and have continued to succeed post graduation, husband included. I would stay away from the fine art programs unless you are independently wealthy, but that's always been the case for all of human history.

For the amount of money they’re asking for one class or two I don’t expect me to be taught by a student. Teacher not even on site give me a break. And when asked if I could change classes just because I’ve already taken that class . Person in charge was rude and not helpful. Live with my park is empty and with no more intelligent than a local school. Go to Mass Art. Teachers talk to you like a human. Classes are new and innovating

I applied to RISD as an undergrad, got in, but didn't go. I chose a small LAC in Massachusetts instead. I'm glad I didn't go to RISD actually. Re-applied to RISD again as a grad student, got in again, but once again, I didn't go, I chose to go elsewhere for grad school. I don't know exactly why, but my instincts told me no to RISD a second time, so I listened. Providence is a nice city, ❤️'d that RISD has an academic consortium with Brown, & the RISD campus and museum are lovely, BUT, I just didn't go. Worked with someone from RISD in a creative capacity in the Theater and we still have a very strong friendship to this day, BUT, I still think I made the best decisions for my education and that meant NOT going to RISD.

Chelo’s is a Rhode Island-based chain restaurant that serves American classics such as burgers and salads. The restaurant is casual and family-friendly, with a comfortable atmosphere. Guests can get their food either inside or on the patio.
A GREAT PLACE TO EAT!!! Both my wife and I had lobster rolls. I had mine warm with butter and wife had hers cold with mayonnaise. They were both delicious but wife's had a little too much mayo to her liking. French Fries and Cole Slaw delicious! Loved our waitress Elsa who was FANTASTIC!!!

Went here for the first time in maybe 15 years for the RI Food Fights big burger blowout and it was better than I remember. The burger was good. Not life changing but slightly better than a typical sit down chain restaurant. The $2 drafts and $3 margaritas are a good reason to come back.

The service is always good here! The steak was quite plain. Definitely well done - how we ordered it but no seasoning. My daughter was putting salt and pepper on it for flavor. I would not order the steak tips salad or steak here again.
Dennise D — Google review
We like Chelo’s for their stuffies, clam cakes, and white chowder. In my opinion, they make the best. The stuffies are packed with flavor and don’t taste like ‘Thanksgiving,’ like many places do. Nice creamy chowder. Decent clam cakes. For dessert, we love a CHUDGE (the name cracks us up, it’s also just super fun to share). We also had their pistachio cake, which was good but lacking in pistachio flavor. ‘Gansetts (beer) is cheap - great place for beers and apps with friends. They carry Yacht Club soda (BIRCH is the best flavor). For dinner, however, we find the entrees quality to be pretty mid. Similar to an Applebees or Chilis. Not impressed with our burgers, sandwiches, or salads. The baked scrod I had once was an absolute mess - goopy, soggy, and almost impossible to find the fish. Prices are reasonable and it’s definitely a family-friendly, casual setting. Service is usually good except when they get slammed (parking can actually get full when they are super busy). I’ve only had one weird experience with a server, who brought up their politics and conspiracy theories unprovoked. Other than that, it’s not a bad place if you’re not expecting a whole lot.

Was there on Monday and we had the best experience we've ever had there. The other guests were nice to us. The service was the best. Bella our waitress was attentive and friendly. I don't think we've ever had such a great experience prior. And all the food was delicious. Finished everything and took home dessert. It would be wonderful to have such an experience every visit

Great place! Excellent wait staff, all were so friendly and welcoming. Special shout out to Elsa, a wonderful and informative "guide" to the area. She gave us many tips of things to do. The lobster rolls were so yummy. French fries were perfect. Great margaritas too! If you are there, you should go Had we been in the area longer, I would go daily.

The staff was polite and friendly. Gabe, our waiter was fun and capable. I had the lobster roll, cold, which was good. Chelo's is consistently good. Great place to spontaneously go to lunch with your girlfriends.
Margaret M — Google review
As a regional chain, it has a slightly corporate feel, but the clam chowder was delicious, and the crab cakes were flavorful and well-prepared--with a lightly fried golden exterior and a soft, dumpling-like interior. The service was reliable and consistent. My only complaint is that the crab cakes were quite a bit larger than what our waiter indicated, thus we were unable to finish them. But for those of you with vigorous appetites and no qualms about take-out containers, more bang for your buck!

Sky Zone Trampoline Park is an indoor trampoline park that offers a variety of activities such as freestyle bouncing, dodgeball, and basketball. It's a great choice for all ages and also provides options for hosting parties. Visitors have praised the staff for their interaction with children and accommodating their needs. While some find the prices on the higher end, others believe it's worth it, especially if you can snag a promotion. The facility is spacious and well-marked, making it easy to find.
Fantastic! Had our nine year olds birthday yesterday and Bri was a wonderful hostess! It was very clean, the room was spacious and kids had a blast. Bri was a great communicator and very accommodating. They made it super easy and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Went for a birthday party, while the venue was pretty empty on a Saturday morning, staff was scarce. They seemed real short staffed no one was on the floor to ensure rules were followed. This was worrisome as the party was for 4 and 5 year olds and could easily be trampled. Other than that, this place was a good time for the kids to bounce around.
Cherie H — Google review
This place is gross, there’s trash all over the floor, I brought my child who waited over 45 min to play basketball and as there is no staff around; in the basketball area there seemed to be what looked like adults/late teens were playing and wouldn’t allow my son to play. He even tried to just go in where he was kicked out. When a staff did show up he just hung around and played with some of the kids. Staff is so unfriendly - I found someone’s debit card to which I alerted a staff member who went gave a dirty look and brought it to the desk and didn’t say one word. Spent so much money on such a less the mediocre experience. $85 for 3 kids is outrageous.
Rochelle R — Google review
Oof. Let’s do the cons first: Went to Sky Zone because we wanted to use the Warrior Course. It was roped off the entire time. Over $50 for 2 kids and we weren’t even able to use what we paid for. They also make you buy their socks, “for liability reasons”, so it was actually over $60. We bought the tickets online to bypass any lines when we got there. You still have to stand in the line to check in, which took about 15 minutes. So now we paid for an hour and a half, but 15 minutes of that is used standing in line. This place is about a quarter of the size of Fun City, and way more expensive. The guy at the front desk was pleasant enough. I felt bad for him because I could see the embarrassment on his face when he told us we had to purchase their socks for liability reasons. The rest of the staff reminded me of a pack of zombies from The Walking Dead. Pros: The arcade section was so limited that my kids weren’t even interested, so we saved a little money there. They still had a decent time with what was available to use in other areas.
K M — Google review
The air conditioning was not operational today, which meant the kids were unable to jump comfortably due to the heat. When I approached the front desk to address the issue, I was informed that there was a work order in place. I expressed my concern about the lack of transparency during the ticket purchasing process, but I didn't receive a satisfactory response. A fellow guest mentioned that this problem has been ongoing for several days. It is simply unacceptable to expect families to jump in an environment without functional air conditioning!
Kineret K — Google review
This place has gone downhill since we last frequented it last year multiple times. There was trash including a dirty sweatshirt outside of the front doors that multiple employees likely walked by to enter the building and didn’t pick up. The bathrooms were dirty and smelt bad. We played some of the arcade games and there was even somehow trash inside the arcade games. The basketball court wasn’t inflated well. You sunk to the ground. There wasn’t much presence from the staff either like there used to be. It’s a fun idea to bring kids to but for the money spent per jumper, isn’t worth it. They used to do the toddler time on the weekend which was a plus and now it’s only during the week which really doesn’t seem that convenient for working families. Hopefully this review will encourage them to clean up so it’s a good place to take your kids again.
Megan F — Google review
We had a birthday party with absolutely no AC during a heatwave. They did not contact us ahead of time to inform us of the issue. Once we arrived and figured out what was going on it was too late to cancel and let everyone know not to come. They offered "free" water in an attempt to make things manageable but it was utterly miserable. No fans were placed in the facility to help. They said it was simply the HVAC trying to beat the heat, yet had HVAC technicians arrive and hop on the roof not too long after we arrived. Why did they have techs on site if everything was normal? The staff was great and did what they could. We did overhear some complaints that the GM knew the AC needed work and prioritized other non-urgent upgrades instead. Bad call. We also found both a lighter and a nip bottle in the pugile stick foam pit. Classy. Will not be coming back and will not recommend.

The venue also hosts birthday parties with options like laser tag packages, providing personal hosts to ensure a smooth experience.
My kids are obsessed!!! We drove an hour and ten minutes to go here and my kids were begging to go back the next day! Well worth the price ($75 for 3 skate rental, 2 skate mates to help them skate and entry for 4 for 6 hours) compared to a place closer to home that was the same price for a 2 hour session! Will 100% be back, especially for the adult events.

My daughter had her 8th birthday here this past weekend. We did the Stitch package and it was amazing! The drink towers, cotton candy towers, the host and Stitch himself were terrific! I cant recommend this party enough! The party was 2.5 and it was the perfect amount of time. Nothing was rushed and the kiddos could enjoy everything!

Just got new blades and we came here for a date night. It was on Thursdays adult night. I really like the decorations! And the way the place was set up! There definitely was a few kids there, though.... not like, little kids, definitely teenagers. But there certainly were kids. But that's my only complaint. The music was good. The people were nice! The cheese fries and pizza were good! The slushies were super refreshing when we got overheated and started sweating. I will definitely be back!

I just had my son's 10th birthday party here and it was amazing for the SECOND year in a row! He absolutely loves roller skating so of course there was no question when it came to booking with them again. Monique was absolutely phenomenal with the kids. Having 12 not so little football players running around is not an easy task but she did great engaging and interacting that they even started to "YES COACH" her towards the end of the party. Now if you know anything about football this was a great form of respect. Not only did she get their attention she truly earned their respect as well. Overall a great time for not only the kiddos but the adults as well. Thank you Monique for giving my son a special 10th ! ! ! ♥

The Rhode Island Museum of Science and Art is a fun and unique museum with interactive exhibits that will interest artistic and scientific minds. It is a great place to spend an afternoon with your family, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. This is definitely a museum you'll want to check out!
The Rhode Island Museum of Science & Art is a MUST VISIT location! Do not let the size of this place deter you from visiting because even though this place is small, you will not get this type of service and one on one interactions with staff anywhere else!! I am honestly in shock that they ONLY charge $5.00 per person, because everything you get is worth WAY MORE! A visit is typically 2 hours long if you go through each and every activity. The staff were absolutely amazing and they really took their time with each child and parent to make sure they were getting the best experience possible. We did some spin art, and the woman who was there was so patient with my daughter who had never done spin art before. I wish I caught her name. But we chatted away like we knew each other for years. Truly hands down the best time I have ever had with my family at a museum like this. Do not pass up an opportunity to visit this place.

We ended up visiting Rhode Island Museum of Science and Art this weekend as we were looking for something cool and interesting to do and I stumbled upon this awesome place!!! Hands down the coolest museum I have ever been too. You get to participate and be creative involving the exhibits themselves - every exhibit is meant to stimulate your mind and the best thing is that it teaches you something, yet it is so much fun so you really take something out for it. Whether you’re a child or an adult, you will certainly enjoy your time and get a great experience out of it! The Admition isn’t much which makes it very accessible for nearly anybody to visit - but it also means that the place itself thrives mainly on school trips to the facility, fundraisers and donations - which you can make via PayPal or their website and it’s certainly worth supporting it so it can grow and be there for the community. I do need to mention that the facility is very clean and is bright and ope! Most importantly I need to mention the wonderful staff, including a very personable and fun Glen that educated us about the exhibits and how to use them so we can get the best out of our experience - I haven’t been this creative and had that much fun in a really, really long time. My boyfriend was geeking out and he loved it! ☺️🤪 Highly recommend this place!!! Such shame that not so it of people know if it’s existence!

We escaped from the Haunted Hotel with just 4 seconds to spare! Thank you to our friendly host, Lisa, and our game master, Liam for making our first escape room experience so fun! Where to begin! My husband found this place on Google as we were visiting for the day from Connecticut to celebrate my birthday. We do escape rooms alllll the time and are well versed in escaping them. We were immediately greeted by our game master Walter who proved to have a great sense of humor and was extremely accommodating. He gave us the perfect amout of hints with just the right amount of information. We did 2 rooms back to back (The Haunted Hotel & Mountain Top Murders) we beat The Haunted Hotel Room with 5:20 to spare! And Mountain Top Murders with 1:10 to spare! Highly recommend both rooms they were great, the puzzles made sense and definitely challenge you. All in all we had a blast! The building itself has a rich history and houses an interesting museum showcasing old telescopes and machines. Despite its age, the observatory's dedicated volunteers and staff ensure that visitors have an engaging and educational experience.
Historic observatory right in Hope St in the heart of Providence. I was fortunate enough to visit Ladd Observatory on its 133rd birthday, and had an amazing time. The first floor is filled with older astronomical devices and various telescopic images of different celestial objects. I wasn’t expecting this, and it made it feel like a mini museum. The main draw is the big telescope upstairs, which I got to see Saturn through. Additionally, there were a couple of smaller telescopes set up on the roof as well. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to share which made the visit even more memorable. I’d highly recommend stopping by, you can register for a free visit on Eventbrite.

I scheduled kayaking for my friend's 30th birthday visiting from out of state. The owner, Kristin, called me the day before to cancel or reschedule as we were expecting really chilly and rainy weather that weekend. She was so kind and professional and immediately sent me a refund. Unfortunately the refund went to a closed bank account. Over the past 4 weeks, it's been an absolute nightmare trying to retrieve the funds. Discussing it back and forth with my closed bank and her payment processor but she has been so supportive, understanding and determined to get the funds back to me. She's replied promptly to every email, called me to follow up and always returned my calls checking-in. Thank you sincerely for all your help in this ridiculous turn of events. You have me and all my friends as a customer anytime we visit the RI area. If for nothing else, this company has exceptional customer service in all situations. 100% would recommend!!

Roger Williams National Memorial in Providence is a tribute to the city's founder. The park features a visitor center with complimentary exhibits. Visitors can enjoy various performances and activities in the area, such as watching mimes at Memorial Park, observing Waterfire volunteers replenishing wood for fires, taking in jazz performances on Steeple Street, participating in ballroom dancing on Westminster St, and witnessing street performers and Big Nazo puppets near Providence Place Mall.
This is a small national park visitor center that tells about Roger Williams, a pilgrim who stood strong for religious freedom in the 1600’s and influenced our country forever. The visitor center is a few blocks from the memorial statue, giving a good walk thru some kinda step streets, or you could drive to it. The statue is huge, overlooking the city, and you can’t get a really good front facing look at it unless you go to the street below and look up. The walk gave us the opportunity to see it from both angles. There’s also a very nice park by the visitors center. I’m very grateful for Roger Williams bringing true freedom of religion to this country!

Roger Williams National Memorial is a very nice 4.5 acre park located in the city of Providence. The park is a beautiful place to take a walk around in. There are some picturesque gardens and trees that provide a nice retreat from the city. The park also contains the site of a freshwater spring that provided water to the settlers of Rhode Island. The park also a small but neat visitor center that has exhibits about Roger Williams. There is a short five minute film about the life of Roger Williams and the history of Rhode Island that is worth seeing. The visitor center also has a nice gift shop that has park merchandise and books about Roger Williams. All and all, this a great place to stop in Providence. If visiting the city for the first time be sure to stop here. It doesn't take more than a half hour to see and it is within walking distance of many other great sites to see in Providence.

A cool park with history about Roger Williams, founder of Rhode Island. It's a very small area but includes an informative visitor center. Don't forget to check out a few other nearby sites like Prospect Terrace up the hill!

This is a lovely spot! Well maintained and accessible, the park is beautiful and and a great spot to walk around or have a bite to eat. You can also see the site of the spring that provided fresh water to the settlers. There is a small visitors center with an extremely nice Park Ranger. It had an exhibit and a short film.

What a great place to visit and learn. Such friendly folks. And such great story tellers.
