Fort Clinch State Park, located on Amelia Island, offers a variety of activities for visitors. The park features a well-preserved 19th-century military fort with guided tours and living history demonstrations. Additionally, visitors can enjoy camping, nature trails, wildlife viewing, and a beautiful beach suitable for biking. With its historical significance and natural beauty, Fort Clinch State Park is a must-visit destination on Amelia Island.
Wow! Took me back in time! The history! The views! Was truly a nice place to peacefully walk around and get a glimpse of the time period. The views from the top area towards the beach are amazing and the admission is very reasonable!!

Very cool and unexpected find on Amelia Island during our vacation. The fort was built before the war of 1812 and most recently still under military control during WWII. It was near exploring all the nooks, kitchens and barracks and offices quarters. You can walk on top of the tour for a view of the river and see Georgia. There is a soldier dressed is union uniform that will answer any questions you have as well as a museum full of all the history. Only $2.50 pp.
Sheri P — Google review
Beautiful fort, I’ve been coming here for years. Great scenery, right by the water. They have a gift shop and visitor’s center as well. It’s $6 per car to get in and an additional $2.50 per person to see the fort. Plenty of parking, but the road from the entry point to the actual parking lot is pretty far with a low speed limit. Overall, it’s worth visiting!
Wade — Google review
Ft Clinch is a beautiful park located on Amelia Island offering bike trails, camping, beach access and interactive history lessons. The state has left much of the native trees and plants intact in this park and it holds the old Florida feel if oaks, palms and Spanish moss that I love. If you want to get away from the crowd and experience real nature this is a great place to spend time. The fort and museum at Ft Clinch was well restored and maintained. There were character actors present who not only knew their roles but history as well. You have 2 options for biking in the patk. There are shared trails in the woods that offer easy to intermediate biking or you can stick to the paved roads. There is a lot of shade and the breeze made everything better. The beaches were full of shells not tourists which was amazing considering it was midsummer. We had no trouble relaxing and watching the waves. There were several people fishing and we hope to camp here in the future and catch some fish too. We rode past the campsites and it looks like 2 are available. If you want private (campers only) beaches and to be in walking distance of fishing then camping here is a great option. For tent camping I would stick to the Amelia River Campground.
Misty D — Google review
Fun activities, lots of history, and very knowledgeable staff and reenactors. I had a blast visiting and cannot wait for my next visit. Very good views of the Fort from the beach, which is easily accessible. There are several enjoyable trails to hike, walk, and bike as well.
Christopher W — Google review
It holds the history of the island. For $6 entrance fees we were able to tour the park. The salt marsh is a great first stop. The light house can be seen from here. The history of the light house is on a plaque at this stop. Walking on dunes is prohibited. A paved road takes you through the park with pullouts along the way. The vegetation is thick on both sides of the road. A camp ground is available too for those interested in camping. The fort itself is something to see. Interesting that there was never an engagement there.
Africancrab — Google review
My boyfriend and I loved exploring Fort Clinch! It was worth the $6 entry fee and $2.50 per person to enter the Fort. The beach at this state park is beautiful but lots of oysters (watch your step)

What an awesome local treasure! We were in for the weekend and truly enjoyed this community and this park. The history of the park is very interesting and the guys were very knowledgeable.

History museum
The Amelia Island Museum of History is located in the historic Nassau County Jail building, dating back to 1878. This museum offers a deep dive into the local history of Amelia Island, known as the 'Isle of Eight Flags.' Visitors can explore exhibits showcasing the island's human history from indigenous times to modern day, including a recreated Timucuan indigenous village and displays on Spanish Mission and railroading periods.
This museum has a lot of cool things you don't usually get to see, like the old soda fountain. We loved their interactive exhibits and scavenger hunt! Afterward, the boys got to get a prize from the pirate's treasure box! Their Florida history displays are very well put together and easy to follow around. This was definitely a worthy stop!
Amanda M — Google review
The museum was awesome!! Tickets are $10 and you can purchase online to make check in faster :) there’s a free scavenger hunt to do as well! It helps incorporate the trivia and really makes you think (there’s a free prize at the end too for completion). The gift shop was lovely and had local products! The museum was the old county jail and still has a full jail cell you can walk around in! Highly recommend for all ages!
Sarah S — Google review
Volunteers Amazing. While the tour guide talked to us, we felt we were there with the French, English, Spanish, Scottish, and Indians. I want to go back again soon.
Merrilea B — Google review
Great overview of the history of Amelia Island. The scavenger hunt made the journey through history more engaging and helped to really enhance the visit.
Jim D — Google review
The museum was really nice. We learned a lot about Amelia Island since it was our first time coming there for our date day. It was very hands-on and that’s what we like. Wasn’t very busy. It was a Saturday, We were the only people in there so you pretty much felt like you have the place to yourself which is nice so you’re not having to bump into a whole lot of people trying to see the same thing! Very informative!! The lady who works at the front desk is very nice also! The only downfall is it was a little on the expensive side, I think, it was $10 per adult.
Billy O — Google review
Excellently done. As a White House Master Chef I was thrilled to see the soda fountain and the birthplace of the Shrimping Industry!!!
Martin M — Google review
Great little museum with great depth of Amelia Island history! Exhibits were very well done. One or two displays slightly blocked the narratives, but ok. All very well done. Fun Scavenger Hunt to help retain knowledge. Nice stop to see before touring the entire island.
Lynne L — Google review
A great way to spend an hour or a bit more hearing the early history of the island and the kids scavenger hunt was a hit. I think it would be great if they included more recent history and highlighted more local landmarks to inspire other places to visit. Glad we did it! The volunteers were very friendly!

Bar
Step into the historic Palace Saloon, an iconic bar established in 1903 that proudly holds the title of Florida's oldest bar. This institution has a rich history, having served as a speakeasy during Prohibition by offering gasoline, ice cream, and 3% 'near-beer.' The bar features vintage murals and mosaic floors and hosts live music most nights. Try their famous Pirate's Punch while soaking in the old-world charm.
A very cool place to come after dinner for drinks and music. Known as the oldest in FL, it’s not as five “bar-ry” as it could be … modern, clean and hip in all the right ways for a bar. The night we were there it also had really great music.
Alicia W — Google review
Visited the Palace Saloon, known as the oldest bar in Florida, and while the historic, woody atmosphere and live music were definitely charming, the experience didn’t live up to the hype. We sat at the bar and asked the bartender for their signature cocktail — hoping to try the best of what they offer. Unfortunately, the drink was disappointing and overpriced. It lacked flavor and balance, especially for a place with so much history and reputation. Cool vibe and worth a quick look if you’re into history, but we won’t be coming back. There are better spots on the island for cocktails and overall experience.
Parisa D — Google review
Drinks ok, service ok, place was lively and fun! There are three rooms you can maze through both with their own vibe. The live music is fun and they have Pool tables etc. Cool place! I like it. Fun place to hang out with a group of friends.
Aimee T — Google review
Love this place, we came in for drinks on a weekend during a car show. Great location! Leslie was phenomenal. Super quick service, she obviously loves her job! She is a keeper and definitely deserves a raise. Don’t let this gem go. We will definitely be back.
Rachel A — Google review
Fun little place with a cool atmosphere and live music that seems to be the place in downtown Fernandina that stays open latest. I'd say it's divey in the sense that it's not pretentious, but the decor is very unique and historic, not "divey" in that sense at all.
Brady B — Google review
Stopped by for a drink with friends. They had live music, great atmosphere the bartender that was working named Leslie was fantastic. Very attentive thanks for the quick service Leslie! We will definitely come back great service because bar tenders like you are worth their weight in gold!
Donna S — Google review
Love coming here. In laws moved here. Leslie has been amazing. Always so wonderful to get to spend some time with her! It’s a wonderful bar. Great music and amazing customers. Leslie pours a great Guinness!!!!!!

I have to admit. I meant to leave this Google Review in 1992 but I got busy and forgot. I'm only delayed by THIRTY THREE YEARS! :-) Better late than never right??? It was a Tuesday morning in the fall 1992. 3rd Section was assuming the guard for the ship in Kings Bay and there were no “movements” scheduled, so us 2nd Section slackers had a couple days off. George xxxxxx looks at me and says, “Hey - let’s get some of the guys and do a little “bar hopping campaign” in Fernandina Beach tonight.” Get it? Instead of island hopping campaign… 🤣 Anywho… I respond, “Sure but we have all hands MARDET PT tomorrow morning so I don’t wanna be out late. Famous last words! Turns out the FOURTH establishment of the evening… THE PALACE SALOON in downtown Fernandina… was the charm. Several old retired jarheads we met there were keeping us well hydrated at their expense. We had done some of our best DURAN DURAN and U2 karaoke performances to please the patrons. The only survivors of our initial group were me, George, and Chris xxxxxx. Sometime WAY AFTER the place would normally have closed… I think those old retired jarheads and some other occupants of the building were funding them keeping the doors open a little longer for us 🤣… we decided the time for a tactical regroup had arrived. I made the phone call. It was raining and a WELL PREGNANT Mrs Richard Davis made the early morning 45 minute drive to retrieve us. 😬 FREAKIN NAVY WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. Can’t ever find a taxi when you need one. We made it to the Wednesday all hands MARDET PT session… a softball game… with PLENTY of minutes to spare. Get there and it turns out EVERYBODY had enjoyed that random previous Tuesday evening. When Capt Christopher xxxx of Shreveport LA gave up his previous evening’s meal in center field, he gave Gunnery Sgt Cleocie xxxx of Milledgeville GA a wave and called the game a draw. WHY DOES ANY OF THIS RESURFACE ON A RANDOM FALL WEDNESDAY IN 2025 YOU ASK?? Last night… my son… a midshipman in the JAX area..: sent me a text with a pic. He said they were out roaming around downtown Fernandina… in the background of the pic… THE FREAKIN PALACE SALOON!!! 😂😂😂 I wonder if anyone there still remembers a random Tuesday night in the fall of 1992? 🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣 SEMPER FI and Happy 250th FREAKIN BIRTHDAY Jarheads!!!

Beaches
Amelia Island State Park is a nature lover's paradise, offering a variety of outdoor activities such as horseback riding on the beach, canoeing and kayaking, and fishing. The park boasts acres of unspoiled beaches and maritime forests, providing an ideal setting for nature tours. Visitors can also explore the historic district of Fernandina Beach with its charming architecture or take a sunset cruise along the Amelia River to marvel at the stunning coastal beauty.
I happened to trip across Amelia Island State Park during biz travels to Jacksonville. This is a stunning place to take a walk along the seaside. If you have a 4x4, you're allowed to bring it onto the beach and drive into the water; and the same for horses. It's all fine, white sand, so bring your Sweetheart and have a great sunset!
Scott J — Google review
Amelia island has been my family’s fishing spot for the last 30+ years. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. I now live in Tennessee but still visit at least once a year to come fishing with my grandparents. This is a very nostalgic place for me and will always be where I feel truly at home! It’s a great beach to drive your 4x4 on and to take home a cooler full. Of course, we still have had those days where we go home with an empty cooler. Great place to catch red, whiting, flounder, trout, and many more. Always beautiful sunrises here too!
Brooke L — Google review
This is my happy place I grew up coming out here if you are looking to find shark teeth this is a awesome place to come. The fishing out here is pretty decent for whiting , spade fish, catfish, bonnet head shark, is what you can typically catch, flounder as well. It gets pretty hot and not a lot of shade so bring a umbrella or small tent. I certainly do not recommend swimming because of the surplus of shark in the area. The bathrooms are great and typically always pretty clean.
Danielle — Google review
Today’s day was couple short stops . We started with going for a drive in the car on the Amelia beach , it was fun not always we can do that , only 4WD are allowed . Lots of people fishing.
Kathy T — Google review
Took my daughter out too try our 4x4 bronco and Huguenot was a disaster and really trashy looking and over packed, so we came here. Paid $4 cash, and you have too have 4x4, but it's well worth it. Maybe 15 cars on the 4x4 side and it was peaceful. Some were fishing and some playing in the water. I highly recommend it.
Jeff S — Google review
This is the best spot to drive your 4 x 4 vehicle on the beach and have a date. Not a lot of people know about the island, and it’s beautiful. People fish and relax. The sunset was beautiful as well.
Jacob C — Google review
Extremely soft sand. 4x4 is a must. Keep in the tracks of others. Water is more clean than other Jacksonville spots. Lots of sea creatures to discover. Have fun!
Jen N — Google review
This was hands down one of the most unforgettable moments of the trip! 🚗🏖️ This beach is known for allowing vehicles to drive right onto the sand—but let’s just say things didn’t go as smoothly as expected. The rental car ended up stuck in the sand! 😨 Just as I was stressing over how to get out, a local family in a pickup truck came to the rescue. Without hesitation, they pulled out a rope and helped tow the car back to solid ground. Seriously, I can’t thank them enough! 🙌 If they hadn’t been there, I might have been spending the night on the beach. This spot is perfect for picnicking, fishing, and soaking in the laid-back vibes, but if you’re thinking about driving onto the sand—think twice and be prepared! 🚙💨

Lighthouses
Amelia Island Lighthouse, Florida's oldest lighthouse, is a historic landmark located in Fernandina Beach. Built in 1838, it stands on a 60-foot-high bluff overlooking Egans Creek and the marshlands. Monthly guided tours are available with advance reservations, offering visitors the chance to explore the lighthouse grounds and climb its 129 steps for panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. The property is also open for a few hours on Saturdays for self-guided visits.
I went Saturday August 17th at 11:00, and it was open to park and walk around the lighthouse. Several others came and went as I was there taking pictures, expect to spend about 10 minutes there at most. There are a few benches if you'd like to sit and rest. The lighthouse is beautiful, and worth the visit if you enjoy lighthouses and are in the area. As others have said, it's only open on Saturdays starting at 11:00 for a few hours. There are no facilities there, just simply a few parking spaces and the lighthouse. It's located in the middle of a neighborhood and the "driveway" up to it is 1 lane.
Alex B — Google review
Not much to say, as the site is under construction. It looks nice. If you trek there from the beach, it's a nice little hike through a quiet neighborhood.
Lance D — Google review
Lighthouse is only open on Saturday. We had a good time taking a golf cart ride and driving by anyway.
Jessica S — Google review
Just setting the right expectation: this is a cool 5 minute experience but please don’t expect much. You can’t go inside the lighthouse. Besides parking and walking a few feet to the lighthouse there is not much to see in the area, but still cool to see a lighthouse up close. Also is only open on Saturday for a few hours.
Frank W — Google review
Great little light house Currently being renovated! Can’t wait to see soon
AZ D — Google review
This lighthouse is never open. Well except for 2 hours on a Saturday. You can pull up to the gate and get a picture of it. The grounds aren't kept up, but I guess if you can't go in, there is no need. The lighthouse is off of Lighthouse circle which is smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood. You can see the tip of it from a pull off in Fort Clinch entrance. But because of the treeline, you only see the top part...and it is lit. So that's pretty cool.
Brian L — Google review
Located in Fernandina Beach, the Amelia Island historic lighthouse can be easily accessed by driving through a nearby residential neighborhood. Although there isn't much to do at the lighthouse itself, it offers visitors a fascinating look into the history of Florida and the picturesque Fernandina Beach area. Unfortunately, the lighthouse itself is not typically open to the public, but tours can be arranged upon request. Additionally, restroom facilities are not available to visitors, and the lighthouse grounds are only accessible on Saturdays. Despite these limitations, I recommend checking out this historic landmark if you happen to be in the area on a Saturday when it is open. It is an important piece of history that is well worth experiencing.
John P — Google review
First, I must say I knocked 2 stars because of #1 NOT being opened during the hours they advertise (info. on the Internet says the grounds are only opened on Saturdays 11am to 2pm. This is a lie!) and #2 lack of information (no one at the Parks and Recreation Dept. even answers the phone). We drove all the way from St. Petersburg, FL to see this lighthouse and (in part...I guess because we saw it!) it was a waste of money & time. Nobody was there. All you can do is take pictures from the outside. It's sad that there are a lot of people still interested in visiting these iconic structures but there's no support for this type of tourism. There should be an album where you can get stamped for every lighthouse visited.

Located in a fantastic waterfront location, Salty Pelican Bar & Grill is an open-air seafood restaurant that offers stunning views of the Amelia River. Established in 2012 by experienced individuals from the island's hospitality industry, it has become a convivial gathering place known for its delicious and reasonably priced food. The menu includes a variety of dishes such as spicy pelican wings and tuna tacos. Visitors can also enjoy live music and Sunday brunch at this popular spot.
The wife and I go out every weekend to eat. We looked on google maps to find a good seafood restaurant. We found the Salty Pelican. The wife had the shrimp plate with pasta salad and cherry limeade,I had the surf and turf with fries and a beer, our sever Natalie she was excellent. All the food was delicious. We recommend this restaurant for a weekend day.
StopAndLive — Google review
My wife and I enjoyed the food that we ordered. We got the chicken wings with mild sauce. The best wings we had in awhile. Of course, the onion rings were great and homemade. Also, the shrimp poboy. The shrimp was so fresh that I could taste the salt from the ocean on it. The Cuban sandwich with bacon jam was so good. I can't wait to go back. The ambiance and the atmosphere of the Salty Pelican is delightful.
Paul T — Google review
This is a very fun restaurant with Key West vibes. We were seated on the lower level and immediately greeted by our waiter. All the food was fresh and tasty. I had the fried oyster and shrimp platter with vegetables- it was very good. My wife had the shrimp tacos and liked them very much. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but it was Friday night so that may have been a part of that. It is free, however.
Michael Y — Google review
Not sure why I’ve never checked this place out being that I don’t live far at all, but we finally decided to check it out and it was AMAZING. The food was so good, and our waitress Reeze absolutely deserves to be recognized! She was so nice, and attentive. We ordered fried green tomatoes (fried to perfection) and Philly Egg Rolls (sooo good) for our appetizers. For our meals, my wife ordered the Lobster Roll, our son got the cheeseburger with Mac and cheese, and I ordered steak with shrimp. It was all so good! They were busy (but it is tourist season) however our wait wasn’t too awful long. The inside of the restaurant was clean. We will 100% be back.
Robert R — Google review
Enjoyed the Thursday special of 'Prime Rib Night' with my Mom while visiting the island. The potatoes pair really nicely with the juicy prime rib. The drinks were also very good and made with fresh berries, mint, and lime. All of the waitresses/waiters were attentive and friendly. We sat in the outdoor eating area and enjoyed the view of the water. Inside was a bit hard to hear because it was quite lively, so if you prefer to have a more low-key experience, I would recommend sitting outside
Lillie M — Google review
We had the best dinner here while watching the sunset directly in front of us. Sitting upstairs was key for this experience. Large portions so consider sharing. We all had different fish and it was sooo good.
Mel G — Google review
10/10 experience! 1:30 pm on a Sunday and only a 10 minute wait, very prompt service and they do text conformations so you know you’re in line and when your table is ready. Service was great and the server was knowledgeable on the food, catch of the day was red drum and it was amazing! Appetizer of choice was Brussel Sprouts - perfect!!! Drinks were a great price and food came out quickly even though the place was packed. We will be back soon!!

Egan's Creek Greenway Trail is a delightful escape into nature, featuring lush grass-covered paths perfect for both walking and biking. As you meander through this scenic area, you'll encounter an array of local wildlife including alligators, snakes, marsh rabbits, and various bird species—best observed from a safe distance. The trail is equipped with benches and informative displays to enhance your experience, along with restrooms conveniently located at the Nature Pavilion near the entrance.
Nice spot in a residential area. Lots of birds and we enjoyed the creek running alongside the trail. Plenty of benches to sit a watch the birds. Bridges have some history in the railway which was neat to read about. It got somewhat busy as we were leaving around 11 am.

This Greenway is so beautiful! We have walked and biked it before. This time we rode bikes through the mountain bike loop which was fun and challenging. The main path is a very easy ride however, and we saw lots of folks on e-bikes this time. There are several options depending on how far you want to go and what you want to see.
Diana G — Google review
Hidden gem on Amelia Island. Amazing that within a few minutes you can see how Florida used to be. Beautiful views, amazing wildlife. Trails are well marked, plenty to explore on both the North and South sections, love that this area is preserved.
Todd J — Google review
This walk was awesome. If you like nature trails and can't decide between fort clinch and egans creek, Egans creek is the way to go. It really feels like you are nature, fort clinch is really nice also but more sterile. There were very few people here, we saw a couple of bikers, and a couple of runners and a few people walking there dogs and that was it. We went twice across 2 days. First day starting from Atlantic Ave we walked to Jasmine, saw wild deer, went to multiple stands where you can see out over the creek. The second day starting from Jasmine we saw alligators, it was an easy walk and a fun walk, lots of turtles, the alligators were on the other side of the creek from where you walk, in the pictures I posted you need to expand the picture with nothing in it to see the alligators, we saw three of them

Mad at myself for not travelling the entire Greenway before now. Relaxing, wide open vistas, wildlife everywhere you look if you're quiet. We have our own peaceful and in places, gorgeous Everglade in our backyard, and the mountain bike trail off the Jasmine entrance threads through an immense old growth hardwood hammock. That trail is a good challenge as well, prepare for lots of root dodging! I sat for fifteen minutes in one spot just watching different schools of small frie circle and jump as they were spooked in one pond, in another the larger fish herded the smaller school fish along the shore before dashing in for a bite. Bring your polarized glasses and be amazed. The trails are well marked, and access to the areas is multiple, so check the map. There is parking near most of the entrances I've visited, but there are no facilities, just trails and park benches, so plan accordingly. Beware! Dog friendly, beware the multiple moving food sources, (rabbits everywhere) and possibility of gators actually on the trail. I've encountered two, the second one about five foot knocked me off my bike as he dashed from shadows across on the far side of the path from the water running for the canal. I went right over his back, and worried I'd hurt him more than me, ran to the canal to see: he was fine, he'd nosed right up to the bank to look me over. A small dog would not have a chance in an encounter like that.

Love this park! There's excellent birding. There are many songbirds and anhinga here. I've also found white Ibis.

Great place for a walk or bike ride. Saw lots of wildlife. There are several mountain bike trails also.

My favorite local place in Fernandina Beach to ride/walk in nature and see a wide variety of native plants and animals in a freshwater and tidal system. Recommend bug spray and sunscreen (plus a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses) during the summer months. If you're looking for a closer view of the birds and other wildlife, bring a small binocular or monocular.

The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island is a luxurious hotel celebrating its 25th anniversary. It offers direct beach access and features 4 restaurants, a spa, and 2 pools. The hotel exudes sophistication and glamour with its stunning beachfront location. Guests can enjoy the new Lobby Bar and indulge in Chef Andrew Yeos' incredible creations at the Legends Table.
My friends and I went for a spa day to celebrate a birthday and relax together. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. The areas were clean and quickly restocked. They have thought of every small detail which made our day smooth and peaceful. We ate by the pool and the food came quickly and was delicious. I got a massage and the therapist was very personable, communicated clearly so I felt comfortable, and did a fabulous job. The spa was a beautiful way to spend the day.

Great service at every interaction. Restaurants had great selection and the food quality was really good. Only thing that I would say, the Old Fashion mix is pre made and they use bad quality small ice cubes. Really expected a high standard for their drinks too. Everything else was really good. But the bar should start making the Old Fashion drink from scratch and better ice, specially for the price charged for it.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff is very professional and respectful. Especially Sandra A. B.(Housekeeping, from Jamiaca), Lane(Bellman), and Winter(desk) they were very helpful and professional. Sandra kept us comfortable for our short stay. Luke was helpful and accommodating and Winter handled my requests. The hotel is all encompassing and beautiful! I golfed and my wife enjoyed the amenities. Thank you, Ritz Amelia!

As a longtime Amelia Island resident, I consider the Ritz-Carlton Spa my sanctuary — a place where exceptional service, refined atmosphere, and genuine care meet seamlessly. Though I live locally and don’t require overnight accommodations, I find myself visiting the resort weekly for spa services, light shopping, and occasionally a fine lunch or glass of wine overlooking the ocean. The spa experience here is consistently world-class. My weekly massages are nothing short of restorative — the therapists are intuitive, professional, and deeply skilled in their craft. The manicure and pedicure services are equally exquisite, performed with precision and care in an environment that’s calm, elegant, and immaculate. Every visit feels thoughtfully orchestrated, from the aroma of the oils to the serene relaxation lounge that seems to quiet even the busiest mind. Beyond the spa, the resort itself embodies timeless luxury. The landscaping is pristine, the ocean views are breathtaking, and the staff greet you with the same warmth and attentiveness every time — whether you’re a guest for the weekend or a familiar face from the island. The attention to detail never wavers; it’s the kind of effortless excellence that can’t be faked. For locals who appreciate refined living and the art of self-care, the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island is a haven worth revisiting time and again. It’s where luxury feels personal, and where every visit reminds you just how special it is to call this island home.

Buyer Beware!! Absolute worst hotel experience ever! Upon arrival the front desk girl was so loud and obnoxious, she shouted over my husband's shoulder asking what my last name was. She had me repeat it. Everyone at the front counter (which is very small) can hear all the details of the other guests. They all turned to look at me when she made her scene. We were told we had a multiroom waterfront suite. We arrive at the room to find a regular hotel room that was not waterfront. We called the front desk to tell them this is not what we were told we had reserved. They sent somebody up with keys to swap to another room. We moved to the far side of the hotel, which was a bit of a hike, to a room that was EXACTLY the same. A regular hotel room. Definitely not waterfront. We debated just leaving. But I felt so bad for my husband who made the reservation and wanted to surprise me. Then we were given a free bottle of wine, with a card that said "happy anniversary". We never indicated it was our anniversary. We told the woman who brought the wine how frustrated and surprised at the dishonesty of the hotel, the mistakes, and unprofessionalism. She came back and said we were being offered a free dinner. The dinner was in fact NOT free. It was charged to our card in the amount of approx $326.37 (no alcohol) Then a credit of $301 was issued. The room charge was $2,175.80 No credit was given for the suite that was really a regular hotel room that was not ocean front. WAY overpriced for what we received. There are a TON of nice waterfront AirBnb's in the area for far less.

She went out of her way to ensure we were aware of all the resort's amenities, which greatly enhanced our experience. Please extend my deepest gratitude to Joanna for her outstanding work. I am 50 years old and this is the first time in my life I have ever left a negative review. I have a severe response to being in an enclosed area where dogs have been therefore I have to do a lot of research before selecting a hotel. A bad reaction can equal years and tens of thousands of dollars battling it. I felt comfortable on the 6th floor knowing their policy was to allow dogs only on the first and second floor. That is, until we noticed a dog coming out of the room across the hall from us. We talked to the front desk and were informed that their policy was not enforced. We then talked to the manager and got more of the same. Essentially, he said they do enforce the policy until they don't! When they don't have accommodations on the first and second floor, they just put them anywhere. I have friends with disabilities and I assure you when all the ADA rooms are booked up, hotels don't scramble to make more. Anyway, just thought I would share my experience in case anyone else has a similar condition or you just don't want to pay that much for a room that has been inhabited by animals.

My wife and I just finished a four day stay at the Ritz Amelia Island. It was a fantastic trip for sure. Every staff member was very polite and gracious. 3 particularly stood out; Carson in the Lobby Bar, Vanda at the Coast bar, and Patty at Salt restaurant. We ate at all the restaurants, and all the food was very good, and Salt was especially good. It was my wife’s birthday and they brought out chocolates and a candle for her. Patty and Kevin were so awesome, and the tasting menu we chose was excellent. Will definitely return to this place.

Timoti's Seafood Shak is a popular spot on Amelia Island known for its fresh, wild-caught seafood and casual outdoor patio. Located in historic Fernandina, this simple shack offers a variety of sea-source fare including crab burgers, fish tacos, fried shrimp, and poke. Families will appreciate the on-site playground while enjoying their meals.
Quick and easy! No frills, walk up and look at the menu, then order. I had the T’s Wrap with blackened shrimp was great, that could be a daily eat! Also, I ordered the fired oyster basket (it’s my thing growing up in South Louisiana) and they were cook to perfection (not dry and too crispy)! The better half had the Tuna Poke and she was pleased. One teen had the Chopped Salad box and the other fried chicken fingers. Great job and we will be back. !

Lunch was great! Fresh ingredients and large portions. We had the rice box with cauliflower rice and grilled fish and the chopped salad with grilled fish. My wife and I both thought our meals were very good! The dog friendly patio is what drew us in as we were traveling with our dog. Highly recommend!

This is a great casual place to get delicious and simple seafood favorites. I'm in town with my wife and stepdaughter for the half marathon. We chose Timoti's based on some Google research. The only seating it outside, but there is cover in the event of rain. We all loved their hush puppies, cucumber salad and soup. Our sandwiches and plates were hearty and filling. I highly recommend trying this local spot if you're in the area.

We visit the island often from Maryland - we eat here several times each visit! Great food and service. The shrimp tacos are amazing & so are the fried green tomatoes. Casual friendly atmosphere that welcomes all including dogs & kiddos.

Found Timotis on the internet, reviews sounded good liked the pictures. We were sadly disappointed. Lobster roll was the absolutely worst I have had, I am not sure it was even lobster. Wife had grilled/blackened shrimp, just ok. I have to say the beer was COLD, which is good.

This is THE place on Amelia for fried shrimp, amazing hush puppies. Poke Tuna is fantastic. Can get crowded but worth the wait.
Todd J — Google review
We came about 15 minutes before closing because friends were there and wanted us to come. It was very cold out and I didn’t want to be “that person” taking too long to order right before closing, so I asked how the New England clam chowder was, and I was told “very good” by the girl behind the counter, so I went for a bowl. My husband ordered the fried shrimp basket. I was disappointed they put my soup in a paper cup and put it on the tray while my husband’s food was cooking. I also didn’t realize it was outside seating only. My disappointment continued when I took off the lid of my now cooling soup and could see visually it was not remotely New England style clam chowder, but didn’t even have a chowder consistency. I just decided to just eat it anyway and was shocked how tasty it was! I ate every last drop enjoying every bite! No, it didn’t taste like New England clam chowder either, but there was a lot of fresh clam in it and none were chewy. It was an extremely tasty clam soup, for sure! My husband’s shrimp basket looked liked really nice sized shrimp, perfectly done. I didn’t try them, but he said they were fresh and delicious. The fries were possibly fresh cut fries, but good regardless. The staff were very friendly still checking on us even though it was after they were closed. I would definitely come back.

My family and I visited this place on August 22, 2024. We ordered the Shrimp Basket - Grilled, Poke Bowl, Rice Box - with Fried Fish, and Chicken Strips Basket. The food was excellent, the Ahi Tuna being my favorite as it was very buttery in texture and fresh. The service was also terrific! And it didn't take more than maybe 6 minutes for the food to come out. Really enjoyed this restaurant and would love to come back in the future!

Salt Life Food Shack is a vibrant and lively spot with a surf-themed atmosphere, offering an assorted menu featuring seafood, sushi, tacos, and burgers. For an exquisite dining experience, Salt Restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island presents seasonal New American cuisine in an award-winning setting. Overlooking the Atlantic ocean, Salt Life provides a diverse selection of specialty dishes such as poke bowls with unique flavors.
Salt Life Food Shack draws you in with its colorful and unique exterior by the water. Inside the restaurant, there is seating with a full bar. Well designed and just as beautiful. If you're looking for a casual date night or family night out, this is a fun place to dine. There is live entertainment which changes daily. We sat indoors, which was nicely air conditioned, and first level outdoors, which was a bit loud but fun. I visited this restaurant two times while vacationing in the area. Reservations are not permitted. You join a wait list inside the restaurant unless you become a VIP, which gives you certain privileges. We waited 30 minutes and five the next visit. The girls who manage the seating are really worker bees! Good job, girls! The team here works well together. 🏆 Food seems to be consistent, and both the fish and steak tacos are extremely delicious. I loved the guacamole. Taco salad needs improvement as I found it to be lacking in flavor. My teen loved the crab spinach dip with chips, and the seafood boil was good. It just needed a touch more seaoning. The warm cookie with ice cream was shared, and very tasty. All meals are platted so nicely. Drinks are tasty and arrive quickly.😋 A 2 minute walk from the beach, or there is plenty of parking. While you're there, check out the beautiful fish tank featured on Tanked. 🐟🐠 🎶

Food, service and ambience were all great. My son and hubby shared the seafood boil, and I had the smoked salmon. Both were delicious and quite filling. Mark ordered a whiskey sour and I decided to go with a beer - Stella, while our son had a Shirley temple. The wind from the ocean chilled us some as we sat upstairs, but they lit the lanterns for warmth. Incredible view of the sea, great seating on the roof top terrance, and our server was such a delightful young lady. Overall, a great experience.

The food and atmosphere at this restaurant is just perfect. The seating area inside has stylish and comfortable seating options. The upper balcony offers excellent views of the ocean. By far my favorite place for food, service, and atmosphere in Fernandina. Love eating by the beach. Their sushi and mahi tacos are always my go to but it was my birthday and I decided to do my favorite food crab legs so I went with the crab boil and it didn’t disappoint! Our server was great & he grabbed the whole team to wish me a birthday! Can’t forget the live bands always adding to the vibes. Keep up the good work!

The restaurant's opulent setting provides stunning views of the ocean, and it prides itself on using over 40 different salts from around the world to enhance flavors in every dish.
We love this fine dining establishment here at the Ritz-Carlton on Amelia Island. We've been here before with other family members and we have a road trip up to Myrtle Beach, SC and Charlotte, NC. After checking in with our reservations, we received a nice cozy table next to the windows over looking the beach. Fine wine, great steaks, excellent service, and a beautiful ambiance. Very nice renovations done to the restaurant. Splendid service from OLGA, who we had before, and she recognized us and remembered our business. She is the BEST!!! Shout out to CARILYN POWERS, who is Director of Restaurants, who came over to us and checked on our dinner, and had a nice conversation with us. And after dinner, we were exiting the restaurant where we ran into SALT CHEF, OKAN KIZILBAYIR, who I thanked for a great dining experience!!! Overall, we love this place and love the samples of SALT. Goes great with the bread and butter!!! We will be back!!! 🍽️🍽️🍽️

If only there was an option of giving 5+ stars, this would have been it for me. One of the finest restaurants that we have visited so far in recent times, Salt simply outperforms in almost every possible category, be it the above & beyond service, the best in class food or the classy ambiance. We celebrated a birthday and they made it a memorable one for sure with a customized menu & celebration plate with macarons & chocolates. Our server Courtney was amazing and her knowledge on the menu items & attention to detail was impeccable. My favorite was the Dover sole entree which simply melted in my mouth and can easily be eaten just with the spoon as suggested!

Here's a polished restaurant review you can use: --- We had an unforgettable dining experience at **Salt** at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the warm, elegant ambience—refined yet relaxed, perfect for a special evening. The food was truly impeccable. We ordered the risotto and the Dover sole, and both dishes were executed to perfection. The risotto was rich, creamy, and full of depth, while the Dover sole was delicately prepared and absolutely delicious. The service was also outstanding, adding to the overall luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere. Salt is definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for a world-class culinary experience on Amelia Island. We can’t wait to come back!

If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. The staff was incredible, and the food was amazing. It was truly an unforgettable evening. Our server, David, was extremely knowledgeable, and Marley, Jennifer, David, and Matt made the entire night feel so special for me. I can honestly say it was the best birthday I’ve ever had. Chef Okan’s dishes were outstanding, and having him come to our table made the experience even more memorable. Thank you so much for everything!

One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. When making the reservation, I wrote that it was for me and my mom. They made a custom menu for a mother-daughter date. When we arrived, our chairs were pushed in by our waiter, David. David was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, He made incredible recommendations. They had three different types of salt for our bread and butter. We didn’t ever have to ask for more water as they continue to bring everything we need before we even knew we needed it

Absolutely outstanding! My husband and I chose the tasting menu for our anniversary, and it exceeded every expectation. More than 24 hours later, we’re still talking about each course—it was truly unforgettable. The highlight of the evening was our server, Anthony. His genuine passion for food came through in the way he described each dish and thoughtfully paired it with the perfect wine. His knowledge and enthusiasm elevated the entire experience; the meal simply wouldn’t have been the same without him.

We were treated so welcoming here. The atmosphere was beautiful and the view out of the nearby window was stunning because we planned our dinner reservation at 6pm. Which meant we were going to witness the sunset and the ardent sunset view combined with the elegance of this restaurant was such a pleasure. This gastronome is very likely to remain a fan of "salt" for various reasons. From the window view, the outstanding service, overall elegance, and of course the most important part.. The cuisine. My husband had the halibut with whipped potatoes. I enjoyed wagyu steak with truffle hollandaise. Also we were served octopus as an opening, it was delightful. For dessert, we chose a dark chocolate souffle. That souffle was absolutely remarkable and perfection. I've been impressed and I'm grateful to have been to a terrific dining experience. Thanks to the chef and service at Salt inside the Ritz-Carlton. Excellence has been achieved. I'm glad we Celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary here. Someone within the staff decided to print "Happy 24th Anniversary Sean & Lisa" at the top of our menu. A keepsake we will hold on to, along with our memories. Thanks to whomever had such a thoughtful and special idea for us. We appreciate you.

Really neat restaurant to eat at. You walk in and a big menu on the wall. Order at the reception then sit down. The place was really well kept and clean, the decor and atmosphere was great for relaxing. We sat outside in the nice weather. We are Ordered pork potstickers, they were perfectly cooked with a nice crunch and meat filling. For dinner we had the bao trio, fried chicken, pork belly and beef. The bar was so good! I had the Singapore shrimp with rice. Its labeled spicy but it was not anything to be worried about. The shrimp tasted great. The owner met us at the door to tell us about the place. She was very nice. Her staff were on point. Def put it on the "must visit" list.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at wicked Bao and it was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we walked in, we could tell this place was something special. We were warmly greeted by the owner himself, who took the time to personally seat us and attended to us in perfect English. His attention to detail made the experience feel even more personalized, and the service from the start was impeccable. What truly impressed us was the speed at which the food arrived. We barely finished ordering before the first dishes were on the table, beautifully presented. Each bite was bursting with flavor, with fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced seasoning. Marlin & Barrel Distillery offers a unique experience where visitors can sample their distinctive spirits, including Venture Vodka made with Florida sugar cane and Bearing Light Rum. They also produce hand-zested all-Florida grapefruit and orange liqueur, Smoked Pepper Vodka for Bloody Marys, and Vanilla Bean Espresso Rum. After the tour and tasting, guests can take home a bottle as a souvenir to recreate the famous Bandera Espanola cocktail served at The Palace Saloon.
From the service, to the tasting, to the laid back fun atmosphere, I thoroughly enjoyed everything about my first visit to Marlin & Barrel Distillery! All the drinks sampled were so good and our bartender was so sweet and made the whole experience so fun! Couldn't decide which bottle to bring home so I ended up picking up a few including a unique spicy vodka that makes a killer bloody Mary.

Their spirits are decent. Vodka and Gin were great. The espresso rum was very strong, has a very strong coffee flavor, and is very good as well. They have cellos, and i felt lemon lime was the best one. Our spirit-tender was knowledgeable in the product.

Main Beach Park, located in Fernandina Beach, is a popular beachfront park known for its family-friendly amenities and beautiful ocean shoreline. The park features picnic shelters, play structures, sand volleyball courts, and restrooms. It offers a safe children's playground and a spacious grassy lawn for picnics and sports activities. Lifeguards are on duty between Memorial Day and Labor Day to ensure the safety of swimmers.
A very beautiful beach for a wonderful day of swimming with the family. Clean showers and public restrooms, and plenty of space even in high season. There's a playground and picnic areas with fire pits for barbecues. There are also some good restaurants nearby.

This was a nice spot with beach access, public parking, clean restrooms, and a playground. There was a free library box, take one / leave one. Also, a Washed Up project box. Need a toy borrow one, or if you have spares that you don't want to take home from vacation, donate them in the box for other children to enjoy. Love the vibe of this beach area

Great beach with nice facilities. Place for dogs and kids. In a very pretty section of town. Water was rough today but beautiful nonetheless.

This place was super relaxed, groomed, full of amenities, has plenty of parking, spacious bathrooms, showers and nice beachfront area as well as plenty of places to sit on benches and walkway paths. What more beachfront parks should look like!

We stopped here on our drive north from Orlando for a picnic lunch and to stretch our legs. There’s plenty of free parking, multiple covered pavilions with picnic tables, bathrooms, showers and a nice playground. We walked out to the beach for a few minutes before resuming our trip. A great beach, especially if you have kids.

Resort hotel
Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa is a luxurious oceanfront destination in Florida, offering a perfect blend of upscale amenities and natural beauty. The resort features an expansive pool deck with adult and family-friendly pools, splash park, and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Guests can enjoy dining at one of the nine restaurants, including the Oceanside restaurant overlooking the sea.
We had the most amazing stay at the Omni Amelia Island! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and well taken care of, everyone was genuinely friendly and attentive. The resort itself is absolutely stunning, with sweeping ocean views, beautiful pools, and plenty of space to relax. Our room was spotless, spacious, and had everything we needed for a perfect getaway. The whole experience felt both luxurious and comfortable, exactly what you want in a beach resort. Can’t wait to come back!
Foster C — Google review
Amazing resort. I can't wait to return! From the moment we arrived to the second we departed everything was perfect. Every meal, every adventure and each nights rest was simply wonderful. We filled our days with beach walks, poolside relaxation and shopping, golfing and rented a golf cart to tour the resort one day. We enjoyed our morning coffee on our balcony each morning then walked to the beach as the sun rose. Everything was perfect. The staff was very nice at each of the restaurants we ate at and poolside staff was so friendly. We didn't have our room serviced during our 4 night stay because I am particular about that and I prefer to reuse towels and make my own bed. The room staff texted us and brought us what we needed, coffee, water etc... I highly recommend this resort if you are looking to just park your car and just relax, they have everything you need.
Sheri P — Google review
Overall a good stay, but there are some key points which could be improved. I want to thank Ms. Brook at the front desk, Ms. Gertie at the guest service and Ms. Nelly at the restaurant. The room is decent sized and not enough sugar for the coffee machine. The view is rectangular on the high floor. The food isn’t that great, but decent. The extra charge for delivery and mandatory gratuity is not listed for in room dining. The staff is very friendly and welcoming overall. The main pool is too warm and almost hot at night time. They can adjust the temperature for better comfort. Between 1 to 2 pm (maybe around 1:30 pm) on 07/28, there was a young man keep jumping/diving into the main pool with children inside the pool. It was very dangerous. I wanted to say something, but I thought it was the staff’s duty to let the person know not to do it. It happened next to the snow cone shop. Not one staff came forward to stop such dangerous behavior. The person ran fast and dived into the pool filled with children. I feel the hotel needs to pay attention to address this matter.
Smily O — Google review
I would like to give the Omni more than 3 stars, but their service and room quality just doesn’t come close to other resorts I have stayed at. They did not have near enough staff members and they lacked that “we’ll do anything to make your stay wonderful” attitude. The room was small, felt cramped doing everything. The bathroom was very small with single sink, small shower with old, worn tile on shower floor. We actually moved rooms because our first room was so musty/moldy. They did accommodate with a new room. Good things: pool areas are very nice with lots of nice seating. Yoel’s and linens are very nice. Nice beach with wonderful views. Restaurants are also very good although most are pretty pricey. Shout out to the shuttle drivers who were very nice!
Paula B — Google review
Just returned from a conference here and took the family along. Overall, a solid experience but not exceptional. First, their best kept secret (which they never told us about) is the “neighborhood village” that is nearby and can be accessed by a walking path (5 minutes) or their frequent shuttle. It has multiple restaurants (kid friendly!), live music, nature center (awesome!), Segway, bike and golf cart rentals, and miniature golf. Once we found it, we returned frequently (especially since so much in the hotel was closed or reduced in services because apparently it was “off season”). Conference services were great for about 500 of us, including meeting rooms, exhibit space, food and a banquet dinner. They definitely have this routine down and I would recommend it. For whatever reason, there were not enough rooms available for everyone to attend our event who wanted to. Overall staff were generally pleasant but very few went out of their way for much. Lobby bar was slow and always seemed understaffed (even if just to get coffee). It would also be recommended for them to better educate guests about the proximity to the village and how much is there to do and see. They also have a nice but small kids game room in one of the buildings, but again, this is not very clearly communicated. While not quite run down, the hotel is becoming dated and needs a refresh in many places (I understand this is tough with the saltwater and humidity in Florida). Rooms felt very small and there was no door on the bathroom (just to the water closet and shower). However, everything was kept clean and we saw people frequently working on maintenance. Layout is a bit complex until you learn your way around. Now that we have been it would certainly be easier in the future. Beach in front of the hotel was nice along with the pool facilities. We will probably return again in the future now that we better know the resort and what to expect.
Braun M — Google review
The place is execellent with its dramatic views from the beach. The staff is amazing! Everyone is super helpful and polite. The cleanliness is great, as well. The only thing is: it's too expensive to eat once you need to eat inside the resort. All in all, it's amazing!
Jack L — Google review
First of all, let me say the staff are exceptional. The location is great and mostly well-kept. The only negative I noticed about the grounds was that more than half of the lights on the steps leading up from the restaurant to the lobby were out. The first negative inside was the rugs at the seating area in the lobby. They were extremely filthy. I'm not even sure what color they originally were. The rooms are extremely run down with flaking paint on the skirting boards, grout in the shower stalls that looks like it will never come clean and lots of scuff marks and dents on the walls. The decor and color choices look like something from 1985. We ended up changing rooms four times until we got one that was marginally acceptable. We were moved to that room after dark, so we did not see the huge paint flakes hanging off the overhang over the balcony until the next morning. I also noted a few things in the hallways and external walkways on the building, like a phone next to an elevator hanging off its wiring and an extremely rusty steel door to a utility room. At one point, I wasn't sure where the closest elevator was, so I used the stairs. The stairwell looked like something out of a slumlord building. In conclusion, this hotel is at least a decade overdue for a complete restoration. However, even if everything was in perfect condition as built, it was realistically a hotel that should have cost half of what we paid per night.
Owen M — Google review
Overall it’s a decent hotel/resort. The rooms and lobby areas feel very dated. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The drinking water is absolutely disgusting- couldn’t do it and had to stick to bottled water. Food and drink prices were very high for Florida.

Amelia River Cruises & Charters, run by Kevin and Cecilia McCarthy, has been offering a variety of boating tours and excursions around Cumberland and Amelia Islands since 2000. Their tours explore regional landmarks such as Fort Clinch State Park, the historic Old Town district of Fernandina Beach, and the famous wild horses of Cumberland Island. The company offers different tour options including the Family Friendly Sunset Tour and Adult BYOB Cruise.
We had no clue what to expect for the 7-9 p.m. BYOB all-adult cruise but it was fabulous. This is not an intense experience but low key / chill and relaxing. We enjoyed the music of Tommy Peacock who played a wide variety of tunes. We took 1 bottle of wine (party of 2) but wished we had taken 2 bottles. This is not a "booze" cruise. You see a variety of wild horses, dolphins, manatees, other wild life, and Fort Clinch. We enjoyed walking around and talking with others on the cruise and the cruise captains. We definitely would recommend but think low key and not fancy.

Great, informative cruise where we saw dolphin, bald eagles and wild horses. They even let me bring my dogs. I told my husband I didnt want to go anywhere on my birthday that I couldn't bring my dogs to...he pulled this out of his magic hat lol. Then after we went to the best restaurant I have ever been to called The Back Porch. My birthdays usually get ruined but this one was perfect 🥰

I very much recommend this tour. The 2 1/2 hour excursion that left the dock at 10 AM was very informative and enjoyable. Our captain and his first mate were knowledgeable about the history of the island. Very comfortable and clean bathrooms on the boat. Love the humor in the stories that were told.

We did the Cumberland Island Sunset cruise with my twin two-year-old toddlers and this tour was fabulous for our family! It’s the perfect length of time, views are great and it’s interactive. Both my kids enjoyed the sights and the staff were knowledgeable and kind. Definitely recommend, very affordable and a must do when you visit Amelia Island.

Booked a cruise last minute for our weekend trip in Amelia Island. Absolutely had a great time! The tour guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. We saw alligators, dolphins, manatees, and horses from far away. We also learned history about the island while getting to enjoy great views. Would definitely go again and would recommend to anyone thinking about it.

Excellent guides - great way to lean about the history of Amelia Island and surrounding areas. Sunset cruises are beautiful , excellent views , makes for an outstanding evening, highly recommended!

We did the 2.5 hrs Cumberland island tour and it was a great experience. The captain and crew were really knowledgeable and gave us lots of details about the history of the area but did it in a very entertaining way. We were able to see the wild horses, a gator, dolphins and more. Our kids really enjoyed the experience, one thing I thought was really nice was that they were flexible on their schedule. If someone saw some wold life they would stop and make sure everyone got a chance to see it. You could tell they were actually concerned about the group havng a good experience not just grinding a schedule. I would say this is a must do and one of the best tours I have been on.

Fort Clinch, a well-preserved 1800s fort located in Fernandina Beach, offers tours of its barracks, prison, and blacksmith's shop. The fort also hosts monthly cannon firings and reenactments of daily life by the garrison. Situated on Amelia Island, it boasts the largest natural shoreline area with beach access for the public. The state park surrounding Fort Clinch features diverse landscapes including hiking and biking trails, campgrounds, and secluded beaches.
Excellent example of a coastal fort from early in our nation's history. You can explore alone or talk to staff scattered around the property. Good exhibits and really impressive masonry and architectural details. Views are unmatched off the top of the walls. Great opportunities for unique photos if you are inclined. $2.50 per for fort, which was totally worth it, the $6 to get into the park itself not so much.
Matthew O — Google review
The Fort had beautiful views all throughout as soon as you enter! Entry was $6 per car and gave you access to the parks, trails, and overlooks. Stopped at the Evan’s Overlook for some great views and went back to the Fort. Lovely gift shop once you arrive at the back, it was a 3 mile drive after entry. Entry to the fort was $2.50 per person which included the fort museum which was a small informative area. Very detailed! The fort did have stairs of course and grassy areas, would recommend sneakers!
Sarah S — Google review
A great piece of history, and definitely worth the couple of bucks to explore for a few hours. Catching a weekend when they are doing period actors around the fort is worth it. It is a fantastic way to learn how life was at the fort for soldiers and civilian workers. All the staff were wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The candlelight (lantern) tour is an additional entry fee (only $2.50 a person, book in advance at the fort), but I'd say it is absolutely worth it as well. The night tour was a great way to see everything differently.
Gina E — Google review
Amazing fort! A fantastic walk through history exploring the fort. All the staff in character was a perfect touch and very informative. Great experience with the family
Dave H — Google review
Car admission $6 to the park, then its$2.50 to self tour the fort. Its a smaller fort than some out there, but interesting to visit. The construction of the fort which i believe they said was a quick one is more sound than most our houses these days. Like with many coastal forts you will see seashells in with the “cement as they use tend to use materials on site to construct. Inside the areas with the spiral stares is what looks like maybe a huge oven or something. In the middle of the wall in there it looks like built in vent, thats why i think its a oven/ fire area. Never seen it before. If you know what that space is please comment. The cannon guns were massive and able to rotate for different angle shots. Heres a few pictures.
Lex — Google review
It was neat to walk around and see the construction of the fort. The stone spiral staircases inside the ramparts are incredibly well constructed.

Impressive fort large cannons on top beautiful location. Would be better if it the different sections had some display and labels to indicate historical purpose.

My husband and I booked this for our anniversary. Neither of us have ridden horses since we were kids. Our guide was great, the ride was beautiful, and the horses were very well trained. Our guide was very friendly and informative about how to handle each horse. I rode Pete and my husband rode Gator. Neither of us had any issues. At the halfway point the guide got off and took pictures for everyone in the group. Truly a fun and unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend!

I finally got to cross riding horses on the beach off of my bucket list! Myla was our guide and did a great job providing all the information clearly, making us feel comfortable riding, and was very easy to talk to. Aaron gave my buddy and I am amazing kayaking tour across the Amelia River to Cumberland Island. He was so knowledgeable, was 100% focused on our experience and was fun to spend a few hours with. He really made the entire afternoon about us, taking multiple pictures and offering sharks teeth and sand dollars that he was able to spot and grab from the incoming tides. Thank you Aaron for a great memory!

Highly recommend! Me and my husband went and we definitely liked it. Madison, our tour guide, was great and very informative and he made sure everyone was having a good time and that everyone was included. He had to lead and direct us on the way to the turning point but he let us do our own thing on the way back so me and my husband were able to cruise, slow down, and enjoy the scenery on the way back. We both definitely enjoyed! 😊

Our 3 hour kayak tour with Aaron was the highlight of our visit to Fernandina Beach! He was an awesome guide for our family of four with two kids (11 and 13), with just the right amount of structure, history, laughs, education, and paddling instruction. Picture this – a stunning day, a tranquil route, and the joy of discovering the area's secrets and the vibrant local wildlife. Cafe Karibo is a chill and friendly bistro located on Third Street in Fernandina Beach, offering standard New American fare with many vegan-friendly options. The restaurant is known for its pet-friendly environment and features garden patios as well as a historic building for indoor dining. Guests can enjoy sandwiches, salads, wraps, seafood specialties, homemade desserts, and Southern comfort dishes for lunch and dinner. Additionally, the owners also opened Timotis to provide fresh seafood options in the historic district.
The food was great I had the veggie burger it was seasoned all the way through I added cheese. It was delicious. The potato salad was great too. I just wish I had more of the potatoes salad....Umm delicious.😁 My mother had their Fish sandwich she also like. The fish sandwich was so big with fruit and mixed greens on top and a little spice. This is a great place to eat and great service we'll definitely go back I'm from out of town and I'm still thinking about it. A+

I took a star for not honoring Combat Veterans with a 10% discount. The service and food are excellent off the main street. The hamburger is a great choice here and ask for the mixed fries (sweet and regular). I had the house salad with blackened scallop add-on and that was delicious. Their chili feels very home cooked ( great flavor with natural ingredients). I imagine with a full crowd indoor would be loud.

Great food and great service. I had the mahi sandwich which is super flavorful. The potato salad and Cole slaw are also top notch. Definitely will be returning.

2025 update: Unfortunately, the owner is on the city council and has chosen to support paid parking for all of downtown. He owns multiple downtown restaurants (Duck Pinz, Baba’s, the Irish Pub, Gregor MacGregor's mini golf, Karibo, and others) and while the food and atmosphere is great, it is difficult to support establishments owned by a person actively working against the interests of his voters. --- When out-of-towners ask me for a food recommendation, Karibo is my #1 recommendation. Karibo focuses on a tight, dedicated menu, but still has a little something for everyone. Dinner options are well-plated, well-seasoned, and contain fresh ingredients. If you aren’t in the mood for a larger dinner like grouper, scallops, or Korean BBQ Ribs, try a fresh salad, or sandwich options like, a Brie’zy Day (Honey Ham, Brie, Cranberry Relish) or a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. A table favorite is the Spicy Thai Noodles (served cold, and perfect for the hot weather!)

This is one of our absolute favorite places to eat!! Whether you dine outside or inside the atmosphere is fun & lively but not so loud that you can't enjoy your company. We always order the Mahi sandwich. I recommend half sweet potato, half regular fries & a side of watermelon. They also make an amazing strawberry margarita. It's not always on the menu, but you can ask for them to make it. The food, atmosphere & service are always wonderful. You can't go wrong if you're looking for a delicious place to eat, that's always clean with great service!

They're doing some beautiful things back there! We stopped here for lunch during a short visit to Amelia Island. It was absolutely delicious! I appreciate using potato rolls for the buns. Good service from the from the cashier, very welcoming and friendly.

The food at Tasty’s is consistently great. I’ve enjoyed it many times and usually leave happy. Unfortunately, this visit was a letdown due to poor service. I spent nearly $60 (including tip) for to-go dinner and dessert for two, but the experience didn’t match the price. My shake was forgotten, and I waited while watching one of the staff make and hand out a free shake to her friend. Meanwhile, my to-go food sat getting cold, and the onion rings and fries turned soggy. Eventually, another employee asked if I was still waiting on something. I said yes, the shake, and she quietly informed the original staff member, who looked embarrassed and then handed me a premade shake from the freezer. It was fine but didn’t taste super fresh. I also ordered two cookies at $3 each, only to discover once I got home that they were prepared on August 29 and labeled to be used by September 1. It was September 6, five days past their recommended date. They were rock hard and completely inedible. I’m a regular at Tasty’s, so this was disappointing. Great food, but this visit didn’t reflect the usual standard, and certainly not worth $60.

Went it to get a couple burgers and fries to go. Got behind a long tour group that had just come in. The young lady behind the counter was so good at keeping things moving while getting orders out. She was not only efficient but such a wonderfully pleasant person. I would go back just for the service but must say the burgers, fries, tots, shake were all great. Great experience all around!

Stopped in today for lunch.Burger was fantastic, one of the better burgers I’ve had!!! It’s a 5 star burger but the fries really sucked, they were as bad as the burger was good.

Cute place but if you like you like hot dogs with chili then just expect it to be salty canned chili. Tasted terrible 😞 Tots are delicious but the fries are greasy. There are much better places with homemade chili

The island boasts numerous locally owned restaurants with diverse cuisines such as American, French, Italian, Japanese, Thai, and Mexican. Sandbar Amelia Island provides laid-back beach vibes and delicious coastal cuisine with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Fantastic and attentive service! Food came out at a reasonable time. Drinks were very generous and cost effective without being overly and disturbingly strong. I was very pleased (and relieved) that there were inherently vegetarian options on the menu and that I didn’t have to order something with meat just to remove the meat and pay the same price. I had the pleasure of having Hayden and my server and she was phenomenal! I would become a regular if I weren’t here on a business trip.

This place was wonderful! The fried shrimp meal was absolutely delicious. They had tasty hush puppies, with good appetizer and soup selections as well. The portion sizes were more than enough, with fair prices. There's great outdoor seating options near the beach, with a lovely view included. The service was fast, and everyone was super kind. In addition, they were more than happy to move us when we requested a table change as well. Finally, our server Matthew was very attentive. As someone who has worked in the food service industry, I would highly recommend this place. My family and I will definitely be back! Thanks everyone!

Lots of deep fried foods. My son ordered fish and chips while my husband chicken wings and chips. I stayed with cocktails; well a martini. They have a decent cocktail list and beers. Nothing fancy. Sports bar with sports TVs at different angles. Service was good, ambience was sport on, right on the beach with the sound of the sea waves. college football was on and fans like my husband had a great evening I did not like my cocktail served in a plastic cup. But that's just me.

What a cool place to eat right on the beach! We wanted a pet friendly place because we had our dog with us. They treated our dog just as good as us. They brought her fresh water and dog treats in whip cream. The service was 12 out of 10, the food was 12 out of 10, and we couldn't have had a better dining experience. We had pizza, a shirp platter, and a chicken sandwich enough for four and still had leftovers! We had a cocktail, and it was really good as well! We will probably end up there again!

This place is cool and on the beach. The food is delicious! I had the candied pecan and apple salad. It was amazing, I wish I got the full salad. Unfortunately, I was directed to get the half. The waiter was kind of snooty. Silly me, when I told him I wanted the salad,.but not sure what size I wanted, he snidley said "half". I naively thought he was hinting it was big...but here he was treating me as if that's what was affordable for me. Grr. The "half" WAS TINY! It was SO good, I would have ate a full salad. We were just getting something to hold us over until our supper time. My.partner got the nachos. I guess we seemed cheap or something. He barely waited on us, and we felt rushed, until we were actually ready to go. Granted this is a tourist type restaurant, the prices are ridiculous, but again, what we got was delicious! The waiter,.not so great.

Enjoyed a wonderful late birthday lunch with my husband and couldn’t have asked for a better venue with fantastic beach and water views. Laura was our server and she was both welcoming and attentive. Our celebration consisted of calamari, fish and chips, and grilled Shrimp platter. My husband mentioned it’s my birthday today and not only was our raspberry cheesecake on the house but I was serenaded by the staff too! Fun place.

I love the view from the outside covered patio. Feeling the ocean breeze while I have dinner is amazing! The food is consistently good here, aside from some overcooked and cold hush puppies at times. It happens. I had the coconut shrimp and a blackened grouper sandwich today, which was delicious. Denise was my server and she was attentive and helpful. They have live music in the afternoon from the beach, which is something I enjoy. I’ll be back!

Came late on Sunday night with a table of four so glad we had our waitress Cheyenne because you never would have known the restaurant was as busy as it was-We had great service! We got a margarita, pizza, nachos, fish, and chips and the coconut shrimp. We were surprised on the portion of the fish and chips and the coconut shrimp. It was quite meager for the price.

The Lobby Bar @ The Ritz Carlton Amelia Island is a cozy and exclusive spot known for its small list of spirits and custom infusions. It offers a classic lounge experience with specialty drinks, live music, dancing, and sushi service until 10 p.m. The upscale bar inside the prestigious Ritz Carlton Amelia Island provides elevated service, food, and atmosphere.
Great spot for drinks and a lite bite. Food is pretty much limited to (very good) sushi. None of your typical bar fair like burgers. Have to walk down the hall to Tidewater Grill which is their take on a sports bar for that. Expect to pay $20 a drink. Not cheap but nothing at the Ritz is. Service was top notch as always.
Erik C — Google review
We’ve been coming to the lobby bar for sushi inside the Ritz-Carlton at Amelia Island for the past four years, visiting around the same time each year. Unfortunately, this visit left us deeply disappointed. The quality has noticeably declined compared to previous years. The rice-to-fish ratio in the rolls was off, with far too much rice overwhelming the fish. Additionally, the texture of the rice was mush, rather than sticky rice. The shrimp was overly chewy and lacked the fresh, tender texture we’ve come to expect from a high-end establishment like this. The bao buns were dry and we had to request additional honey hoisin sauce. The drinks and service were average—not bad, but nothing special either, which was surprising given the Ritz-Carlton’s usual standards. On a positive note, the tuna was fresh and flavorful, but it was one of the few highlights of the meal. It’s disappointing to see such a drop in standards, especially at a place we’ve consistently loved. We truly hope they address these issues, as this was far from the exceptional experience we’ve come to associate with the Ritz-Carlton brand.
Melanie J — Google review
I have always heard that The Lobby Bar has the best sushi in town. So when my mom and I had a spa day on Mother’s Day, I decided to stop in and finally try some sushi. Firstly, we were given some excellent complimentary snacks of mixed Japanese-inspired snacks, pretzels, and nuts, cheese crisps, and mixed olives and gherkins. We ordered Fernandina Roll, Creamy Crab Roll, and Sashimi Platter. I don’t mind paying top dollars for excellent food, but the sushi was pretty average. The sashimi, on the other hand, tasted pretty clean and fresh. My favorite amongst them was the Hamachi, which was rich, fatty, silky, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I can probably eat a whole platter of those! I wanted to love this place, but there are so many others to try. Loved the servers’ friendliness and attentiveness!

Needed a night cap while staying at The Ritz Carlton Amelia Island and didn’t feel like going off property at 10 PM. The Lobby Bar was the perfect spot for a late night drink with a relaxed ambiance and great service. I had the Luxardo Margarita and it was an excellent choice. The drink was flavorful and strong and I’d highly recommend it. During my next visit I’ll come hungry to give feedback on the food selection.

We always come for the sushi at the Lobby bar , hubby’s fave if the nigiri platter and I come for the Fernandina roll or the Amelia roll. This is the local favorite. Locally sourced and fresh always . The atmosphere is very relaxing as it is facing the ocean. They have live music playing in the evenings. Our server Jamie is the best . We come for her I should say because she is very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu, very accurate in taking orders and efficient in delivering our meal . I would ask for her . The manager Kristina is the best ! She stays busy making sure all the guests are in their best comfort and orders are on point . She is very friendly as well and makes you feel right at home . Ambience is amazing from sunrise to sunset as the bar is oceanfront .

Upscale bar inside the Lobby of the prestigious Ritz Carlton Amelia Island! Prices are elevated to Ritz Carlton level prices but the service, food, and atmosphere are elevated as well. From the beautifully elegant lobby, the super friendly service, the amazing drinks, and good sushi...this is an excellent place to start your vacation at the Ritz or meet friends and enjoy some sushi and drinks. Every time we visit family and friends staying at the Ritz or visit friends at Carlton Dunes, it's always nice to just walk over, grab some drinks and sushi and relax in the upscale casual atmosphere!

It looks to be a great spot to fish. Unfortunately, I did not catch anything. I only stayed long enough to watch the sunset, and maybe got an hour in fishing. This will be a spot I return to. If reds trout and sheepshead is what you're after. Look no further.

Caught nothing. The current is crazy strong, so make sure you have sinkers (over 14oz). We fished for an extended period and only one lady caught one sheepshead. We had better luck elsewhere.

There is a $2.00 charge per person to enter (honor system). We weren’t into this place. We thought there would also be hiking but it truly is made for fishing and driving your 4x4 on the beach. No hiking. And no shade! Come prepared.
Angela G — Google review
Easy paved walkway from parking area to bridge. Fishing was slow but fun people watching.
Consuelo L — Google review
The park itself is a quite good setup for fishing. It’s got well maintained trails and paths to the pier. I’ve fished here twice for extended hours but haven’t caught more than a couple stingrays. I’ve seen others catching though, so it must be my lack of technique. Restrooms are conveniently located.

Hoyt House Bed & Breakfast is an elegant and refined 10-bedroom B&B located in a historic blue-painted Victorian mansion dating back to 1905 in Fernandina Beach's historic district. The house, modeled after the Rockefeller Cottage on Jekyll Island, offers a romantic and adults-only stay with unique character, including a quirky stained-glass bar.
We just got married at the Hoyt House, and it was truly perfect. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Katie, we felt like we had stepped into something special — elegant, intimate, and full of heart. The house itself is stunning, with so much historic charm and character, yet it feels incredibly comfortable and inviting. The Chapman family, the owners of the Hoyt House, went above and beyond to make every detail flawless. Their kindness, care, and genuine excitement for us made the entire experience unforgettable. Every part of our wedding weekend, from the beautiful ceremony setup to the comfortable, romantic atmosphere, exceeded anything we could have imagined. The rooms are gorgeous, the breakfasts are fantastic, and the whole property just radiates a welcoming feeling. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how much they enjoyed the experience. If you’re looking for a place that’s elegant, personal, and timeless, the Hoyt House is it. We’ll cherish this place forever.

The house itself is stunning — full of charm, warmth, and rich history that perfectly complements the beauty of the town. We were lucky enough to witness a gorgeous wedding taking place during our visit, and it truly highlighted how special this place is. The breakfast was extraordinary — fresh, delicious, and served with such care. Every detail made our stay feel thoughtful and unforgettable. The Hoyt House is the ideal getaway if you’re looking to step back in time, slow down, and simply relax. It’s the perfect blend of historic elegance and peaceful comfort. I can’t wait to return!

Thank you for the hospitality, the social hour with a drink and the great service altogether!

My wife & I were just doing the getaway thing! We saw the 'Hoyt House' in Fernandina Beach and thought this B&B looks great!! Well the B&B exceeded our expectations. The staff and owners were polite, friendly, gracious, & personable. The Willis Room was spectacular! All amenities were available in the our room. Even with other guests in the house it was perfectly quiet. The breakfasts were wonderfully delicious! Water and other beverages were provided all day! Cookies were also available all day! The main part of town was a short walk form the B&B, a very convenient location! Finally, on top of all the great aspects of 'Hoyt House', parking was not an issue, as most know that can be an issue but not here. We will definitely visit again!!! Thank You Lindy & David Chapman for a wonderfully relaxing & entertaining GETAWAY!!!!

We walked down to the beach and enjoyed hanging out there. All the restaurants are just a short walk and there are plenty of options. If you’ve never stayed here, it’s a must. They also provide bikes at no charge. I highly recommend this place.

We had an amazing five day break at this wonderful bed and breakfast. We initially planned to stay just two days but ended up staying for five as we were enjoying ourselves so much. On arrival, there was a warm welcome from the owners Lindy and David and they couldn’t have been more helpful. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and in keeping with this1905 building. The beds were super comfortable standard of cleanliness was superb. The dining room was very quaint and each day we were offered a different breakfast which was absolutely delicious and worthy of a Michelin star! We had hired a car, but we didn’t really need it as everything was in walking distance. Fernandina Beach has a great selection of bars and restaurants and there is plenty to do. Lindy and David are happy to give advice and arranged golf for my husband, which was excellent, and a great boat trip which we really enjoyed. We loved using the pool and Jacuzzi and we enjoyed happy hour each night. Thank you, Lindy and David for a great stay, we will definitely be back!

The Green Turtle Tavern is a laid-back and popular spot in the historic downtown of Fernandina Beach, Florida. It's frequented by both locals and visitors, offering a relaxed atmosphere where you can rub shoulders with an eclectic mix of people, including shrimp boat captains, authors, and even the occasional celebrity or dog. The tavern is known for its live entertainment on weekends and boasts one of the best bourbon selections on the island.
The Green Turtle Tavern is one of those places that just feels like the heartbeat of Fernandina Beach. It’s laid-back, fun, and always welcoming whether you’re a local or just passing through. Cold drinks, live music, and a crowd that feels like family — this is what a neighborhood tavern should be. But what really makes it shine is the service, especially from Esmeralda behind the bar. She’s got a reputation around town for being one of the friendliest and most skilled bartenders you’ll ever meet. Esmeralda knows every drink you can think of — and probably a few you’ve never even heard of — and she makes it look effortless. Beyond the talent, though, it’s her personality that keeps people coming back. She’s quick with a smile, remembers names, and somehow manages to make everyone feel like a regular. It’s no surprise that Esmeralda has a local following; she’s part of what makes the Green Turtle so special. Add in the great live music, the relaxed outdoor vibe, and the fact that half the town seems to stop by at some point during the week, and you’ve got one of the best hangouts on Amelia Island.

Came here on a Friday night. Prices are reasonable, $4 for a Coors Light and there were 3 other beers available for $3. There's limited bar seating, only 2 seats total, which is strange however there is plenty of outdoor seating at picnic tables and such so on a nice night seating isnt an issue. Bathrooms are unisex, there are at least 3, 2 of which are outside. Staff was generally friendly although 1 bartender didn't like to give customers back their change. Overall, preferred this to Palace Saloon.

Fun place to hang out and listen to live music in the evening. People really filled the outside patio, dancing and drinking. Lots of energy. Not a lot of seating so most of the time we were standing. Wasn't a problem for us but could be for you, if you can't stand a long time. They do have some picnic tables so come a little early to grab one. The band was really great, and the people were friendly. It is hard to miss because the house/business is painted a dark green! 😁 They serve food and drinks, but we had already eaten so we didn't order anything. Good Vibes!!

Matt, our captain was fantastic. He was very personable. Our private tour was for two. He gave us plenty of information and pointed out lots of wildlife and also gave us time and space for ourselves. The boat was spacious. We saw dolphin, wild horses, an alligator, plenty of birds (including a lot of spoonbills) all while Matt pointed out things of interest. The sunset was beautiful. We couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable time on the water.

Daniel was amazing! The most knowledgeable tour guide we’ve ever had. And we take a lot of tours when we travel. Nothing compares to Daniel. His knowledge and passion about the island’s history was impressive. He was also friendly and interactive with the group. We were beyond pleased with this experience.

We tried to see the sights on our own but had trouble driving and sightseeing. We booked tours with historic tours and we had the most amazing tour and guide we have ever had. Daniel Daly was passionate informative and a great storyteller. Air conditioned van was a welcome relief from the extreme heat. We plan to come back to see Daniel and Amelia Island

The BEST historical tour we’ve ever been on!! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and so funny. What a fascinating history and Daniel made it so much fun with all the facts and people. We HIGHLY recommend this tour even if it’s the only thing you do on Amelia island.

Daniel offers a delightful 90+ minutes historical tour of Amelia Island. Being from NY state, and a history major, this was a fabulous learning experience. FYI, You can save a few dollars if you book directly with Daniel. Trip advisor bookings charge $5 more per person.

Took the Amelia Island Historic bus tour with Daniel. He was awesome. We learned so much about the local history, including the role Gregor McGregor played in all of it. Daniel was funny and engaging. We could have spent the entire day with him. Take his recommendation and have a pint of pirates punch at the Palace Saloon.

We absolutely loved our time at The Williams House. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable! Veronica’s two course gourmet breakfasts weee to die for! She makes you feel so comfortable. We could have stayed around the table all morning just chatting and listening to all of her stories about the home. Everything from the table setting to the relaxing music was wonderful. Veronica had so many good suggestions on where to dine and things to do! We enjoyed sitting in the porch in the swing and reading or just listening to the “quiet”! We will definitely be back!!

My mother and I stayed for 3 nights at the Williams House and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We were kindly welcomed by Veronica, the innkeeper, with wine and cookies as we’d arrived during the nightly happy hour. Then we were shown to the cleanest room I’d ever had the pleasure of staying in. It was beautifully decorated and provided all the amenities we could need and ask for during our stay. The exceptional hospitality continued with daily breakfast provided by Veronica and the staff at the inn. The food was rich and flavorful, and the dining experience was top tier. Thank you to Veronica, Miss Helen, Miss Delia, Sebastian and those whose names I cannot recall for the work they did to ensure a 5-star experience. I also enjoyed seeing the way Veronica blended Victorian era charm with personal style. We look forward to returning soon!

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and loved everything about this Bed and Breakfast. Veronica was a superb and friendly host. Her attention to detail showed itself in her beautiful table settings each morning, in the cleanliness and the beauty of each room and its unique art and furnishings. We felt cared for with her suggestions for restaurants and places to visit and her daily homemade cookies and happy hours. We had a wonderful few days and will definitely return. Debi and Bob

My husband and I spent our Anniversary night, plus one more unexpected night (due to car trouble) at the Williams Inn. Veronica is the epitome of a thoughtful and kind innkeeper. Our guest room was spotless and filled with antiques and art. The dining room at the Main House was gorgeous. Each morning we were treated to a delicious two course breakfast with gracious hospitality. Veronica was helpful in all ways, including restaurant recommendations and activities. She is clearly a valued member of the community and contributes greatly to Amelia Island. We highly recommend the Williams Inn. You will be welcomed and pampered.

Oh wow! My wife and I had a wonderful time at The Williams House. Veronica was so welcoming and we enjoyed the history of the house as well as her fantastic hospitality. The morning breakfast was delicious each day and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting other guests in the Inn. The house was so beautiful and clean. We can’t wait to go back at Christmas where we heard she decorates beautifully. Walkability to downtown was excellent. 3-4 blocks so we never needed car.

We have always had good luck with Select Registry in finding real gems for B&Bs but the Williams House has to be at the top. Artistically furnished with Southern charm and beautiful wood treatments, each room is a pleasure to see and relax in. Impeccably clean, functionally up to date, and wonderfully landscaped, it is a real treat just to sit on the veranda and watch the world go by. We had to change rooms at the last minute because of an air conditioning failure (thunderstorm fried the electronics) but she found us one of her most popular and desirable rooms to switch us to without any fuss. We were all fortunate in enjoying her gourmet breakfasts served on elegant china and featuring herbs from her gardens. Adding to all this, the Innkeeper's positive and welcoming energy in formulating just the right plans for her guests to enjoy their stay is a winning combination. We look forward to a repeat visit .

We stayed at the Williams house for six nights and loved it! Veronica‘s breakfast are amazing. Definitely the best we’ve ever had and we travel a lot. The location is great. We could walk to many restaurants and we rode our bikes to the beach. We had wine from 5 to 6 PM every night. She had homemade peanut butter cookies And it was definitely better than a five star hotel. We will be back! We stayed in smugglers Cove, which has a beautiful very large screened in porch that we enjoyed every morning and evening.

Being frequent Amelia Island/ Fernandina travelers, we had not stayed at the Williams House before this July 4th weekend! We did a spur of the moment trip and SO SO glad we did! Veronica is the BEST Hostess! Quiet accommodations: sit on the front porch swing with a glass of wine in the late afternoon before dinner- or early morning quiet time- it's lovely. We walked everywhere in the downtown area to have dinner, explore, etc. Definitely recommend one of the first floor rooms in the Hearthstone House- we stayed in Catherine's Chamber.

The Omni Amelia Island Resort boasts about seven miles of bicycle trails leading to attractions such as the Sunken Forest, Aury Island, Drummond Point Park, and Walker's Landing.
Stellar place to go for a bike tour. We had the opportunity to take a bike ride while in town for a conference. The owners were great and very personable. We hadn't ridden bikes for a long time and they made this experience very good. Would recommend!
Courtney M — Google review
Somewhat of a mixed bag review, we had a great time out on the bikes, rented them for a 2 day rental, got the bikes on Tuesday around 10 am or so and had to have them back before 3:30pm on Wednesday. Ideally we should have had to have them back on Thursday am but that was not their policy. That’s not a 2 day rental at all. Also, while we were out, a bracket fell of the seat of 1 of the bikes and the seat fell off, when we returned the bike we really didn’t get much of an apology at all.
Cherry N — Google review
The staff here couldn’t have been any kinder, accommodating or knowledgeable! The bikes are well maintained, adjusted for our heights and inspected. After a quick overview of the map and some operating instruction, we were off to explore. 5 stars!!

This is by far one of the most cleanest, friendliest, and consistent hotels I’ve ever been in. The staff is top notch! The room are too cute. Boutique perfection. All you need for a nice sweet stay in Amelia Island. It is a close enough walk to downtown but far enough away for peace and quiet. The bar is open to the public but it shuts down early enough to not be bothersome. They have a sweet little continental breakfast in the morning to start your day but when visiting this town you should definitely go and seek out the local hot spots for breakfast and brunch! The staff is knowledgeable about the town and will steer you in the right direction!

Room was small with no chair to sit in the read that is comfortable. Later I found out the are chairs on the 2nd floor to sit in but would have been nice to know on check in but bar is loud so would not have been quiet to sit there to read. It would have helped it it wasn’t raining so I could have spent more time outside. I’ll choose a different place next time that has more sitting areas outside the room or has comfortable chairs in the room. It would be nice in the bathroom to have a shelf next to the sink to put toiletries on. There is just a sink with no space next to it to place things

Sliders Seaside Grill is a charming 2-story restaurant located at 1998 South Fletcher Ave. It offers a relaxed atmosphere with stunning views of Fernandina Beach, making it a popular spot since the 1940s. The menu features delectable dishes such as crab cakes, seared ahi tuna, fresh oysters, and shrimp scampi. Guests can also enjoy happy hour drink specials at one of the three lively tiki bars from Monday to Thursday.
So it's our first time here and the 4 for service is only due to it taking 15minutes after we where seated for someone to come over. Aside from that our waitress was incredible. The food was really good I ordered crab cakes and I will say these are probably some of the best I've eaten filled with crab meat not like many places where they sre 90% filler 10% crab meat, and the lobster bisque was on point. Will definitely return.

Had an excellent breakfast and lunch here on our first visits. The Oyster Po-Boy was delicious with fresh bread and an abundance of fried oysters. Service was excellent. The location is great, being on the beach. And, it was nice dining on the covered balcony with a nice view of the ocean.

The best experience on our trip to the area. The food was phenomenal. My creole flounder topped with a crab cake over potatoes and andouille sausage was amazing. A great value anywhere at $26, yet alone an oceanfront restaurant. The fried shrimp, fried chicken tenders, and hush puppies are exactly what a true north Floridian would want. It’s as true to southern seafood as it gets anywhere in the south. The owners recipe for the pineapple cream cheese side is out of this world. Our server Erin was awesome. She was attentive and made us feel right at home. Every recommendation she made was spot on. Most importantly, she made sure our daughter’s allergies were avoided while still having a great experience. This place is a true gem. The kids had a blast on the playground and we enjoyed the live music even more. My only regret is I wish we had more time to stay.

We are so happy that this restaurant is dog, friendly! Our server Gannon, was a pure delight. She helped us navigate the menu and kept us supplied with cold drinks, all while simultaneously giving our big dog Hampton, lots of love and attention, as well as his own bowl of ice cold water. Thanks for making our dinner on the beach absolutely perfect.

Touristy spot (complete with all sorts of souvenir drink cups). Location and views cannot be beat, true oceanfront location. Some tasty food options, crab cakes and just puppies. Service while generally efficient, isn’t always that friendly, a little over stretched.

This spot exceeded expectations!! We are in the area just overnight and stopped here for a bite with the kids. Náutica took care of us and I’ll tell you what, we haven’t had such great service anywhere on the East Coast like we did with Náutica in many years!! She literally took our order with appetizers for a family of 5 all by memory, blew my mind! So kind, so accommodating and very attentive. The food…amazing and so full of flavor. Hands down an amazing experience the whole way around. Kudos!!! 🎉

Joe's 2nd Street Bistro is a charming and intimate New American spot located in Fernandina Beach, FL. The restaurant offers a romantic courtyard where guests can enjoy classic dishes like crab cakes and filet mignon. With a blend of continental European cuisine and American staples, the bistro provides an eclectic dining experience.
Once again another return visit. This time Maryland crab cakes, Shrimp & Grits and salmon sandwich. Every meal we had has been excellent. My favorite was shrimp & grits. Great service also. Reservations are needed.

We had the rib eye and shrimp and grits. The rib eye was one of the best I've ever had. The shrimp and grits were very good. One meal was ordered off of the menu that included an appetizer, entre, dessert, and coffee. I had a salad for the appetizer. It was good, but only about 1/2 the size of the salads on the regular menu. The water does not taste like regular Florida water, it was very drinkable.

This started out as a solid 5 but went south within 10 minutes. The outdoor seating is awesome, The menu looks great. Promptly seated. Quickly greeted. The Manhattan was served fast. The house bread and salad were great and brought out soon. Placed an order for the Filet Mignon. Then...... Then 2 more tables showed up and the server was no more. 30 minutes passed with no contact or food. I requested my check. Credit to the manager for cancelling all charges since they know they messed up.

What a find! First time here, the food was excellent! They made their own ketchup! Delicious! So my fiancée has the Bistro Salad while I went to the fresh catch of day sandwich... both our lunches were excellent! Everything appeared & visually felt as it was freshly prepared... the fries, fish was cooked perfectly, not overly done not under just perfect! We had a zero wait time when walked in and the atmosphere was very pleasant! Very relaxing place, the colors on the walls ceiling was calming and fit this place oh-so-swell! 👍👍👍

There were five families in our group. We have a reservation and the entire experience was really smooth and pleasant. To begin, we were promptly seated when we arrived at our reserved time. Our waitress was very friendly and well trained. Our water glass were never empty. If you're looking for a great sit down dinner service, this place fits the bill. Our food did not disappoint as they were well seasoned, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Being the weekend, I was able to order the prime rib that sits on grilled summer vegetables and mashed potatoes. Some of us had the Risotto Milanese (the shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly), rack of lamb, and grilled salmon. I did not hear one word of complain about our food. The fact that we had five families paying for their own meals did not faze our waitress. The bill came back correctly. I understand that this is a tourist town and things are going to be pricey but a three course meal at this restaurant will set you back $50. If you order a drink or two with it, be prepared to spend $80 per person. Word of caution, if you order the Caesar Salad and is asked with anchovies or not, go with no or you're going to end up with extra anchovies and an upcharge of $2. I recommend the Risotto Milanese. They achieve perfect consistency for the risotto and the cheese was of good quality.

Wonderful start to finish. Excellent flavors. We tried: chicken and andouille sausage wonton, crab stuffed shrimp, pork chop, linguini, and their three desserts. The cinnamon roll bread pudding was the absolute best of the three desserts.

Absolutely the best service we've had in a while. Our waters were refilled the minute they were low, and we had everything we needed the moment we needed it. Food was absolutely perfect. Pictured is the Chicken Penne, and the seasoning was just enough to enjoy it and not enough to be overwhelming. Nice and light but filling. The only downside is how warm the restaurant is. It was already hot outside already so going from 97-100 degrees outside to basically the same temperature with no breeze was rough. Though as the sun went down it did get cooler and was manageable.
Tabitha — Google review
We really enjoyed dinner at Joe’s 2nd Street Bistro tonight. The service was excellent and all of the food was fresh and well prepared. We had the crab stuffed shrimp as a starter. It was delicious even though I wish the portion was just a little larger. For dinner, my husband had the grilled ribeye with three sauces and I had one of the specials, which was a coffee rubbed New York strip steak with jalapeño cheddar grits. We will definitely come back to Joe’s again when we make our next visit to Fernandina Beach.

Fantastic Fudge is a family-owned confectionery located on Centre Street, offering a delightful array of hand-dipped chocolates, caramel corn, and various flavors of fudge made on the premises. The shop also serves excellent ice cream and homemade waffle cones. Visitors can enjoy fast and friendly service while indulging in their sweet cravings.
My family and I visited on August 23, 2024. When we walked in, we were immediately hit with the smell of warm, fresh fudge. You could see them cooling and sculpting the fudge on one half of the shop. The shop also had coffee drinks and ice cream you could order, but we focused on the fudge and chocolates. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the menu for the chocolates. But we did get a random samplers box with a chunk of Oreo Fudge. It was wrapped in a box for us and the chocolates lasted maybe only a day because they were so good! Highly recommend checking this place out if you're a fan of sweets or if you're looking for a sweet treat to bring home to a friend!

Fantastic Fudge definitely lives up to its name! When I visited, it wasn’t busy at all, which made the experience even more enjoyable. As soon as you walk through the door, you’re greeted with the sweet, irresistible smell of fudge — it instantly pulls you in.The fudge itself is unlike anything I’ve ever had before. It’s rich, creamy, and smooth, almost with the texture of Brie cheese — melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Each bite was decadent without being overly sweet, which made it hard to stop at just one piece. The shop has a charming, nostalgic feel to it, and the staff were welcoming and happy to answer questions. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to bring some home to share (or maybe not share!). If you’re a fudge lover — or even if you think you aren’t — Fantastic Fudge is worth the stop. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind treat.

DeNucci's is a family-owned ice cream shop in Fernandina Beach that offers a wide variety of frozen treats, including hand-dipped and soft serve ice creams, frozen yogurt, dole whip, frappes, malts, smoothies, shakes, and floats. Located in the center of the island, it provides indoor and outdoor seating for customers to enjoy their delicious desserts. In addition to ice cream, they also offer homemade fudge made fresh daily.
Cute little place with nice young ladies that were very helpful. They have a lot of great sounding flavors of hard ice cream, vanilla or chocolate soft serve, and pineapple or raspberry dole whip (which can be swirled). I tasted chocolate raspberry truffle and it was really amazing, but went with peach Melba. This ice cream is smooth and creamy as well as delicious. There are plenty of large chunks of peaches throughout and lovely swirls of raspberry. I didn’t want too much, so I was going to get kids size, but figured a single couldn’t be too bad…it’s huge! My husband got what he always got from Carvel up north - soft serve chocolate with wet walnuts and was very happy with it. He said even the soft serve is very smooth and creamy. Fantastic!

A Monument to Indulgence — The Ice Cream Experience That Redefined Dessert There are moments in life when language feels almost too small to hold the enormity of an experience — moments that deserve not just to be remembered but enshrined. Our visit to this ice cream shop was one of those moments. It began innocently enough: a casual family outing, the kind we’ve taken countless times. But what we encountered was far from routine — it was legendary. My wife and I ordered a banana split, expecting something nostalgic, comforting, familiar. What we received was a frozen colossus, a mountain of indulgence worthy of myth. Three massive scoops of hand-crafted perfection — each more luxuriously creamy and intensely flavored than the last — nestled between golden banana halves so ripe and sweet they nearly melted in the mouth. Rivers of hot fudge, caramel, and strawberry sauce cascaded like edible artwork over peaks of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream, crowned with clouds of whipped cream and the obligatory cherry, defiant atop its dairy throne. We couldn’t finish it. We tried. But it was like battling a beautiful, benevolent monster — one that overwhelmed us with joy and cream and the sheer physics-defying grandeur of its scale. It was less a dessert and more a chapter in an epic poem. And then there was our daughter’s raspberry ice cream cup. One flavor. One scoop. And yet, it stood like a monument — nearly the size of a softball, bold and unapologetically bright. The flavor burst forth with a clarity and richness that could only come from real fruit and craftsmanship bordering on sorcery. She was halfway through it before she said a word, and when she did, all she could say was, “This is the best ice cream in the whole world.” We had no arguments. The shop itself exudes warmth and character. The staff don’t just scoop — they curate. Each interaction felt like part of a larger tradition, a celebration of dessert taken seriously and served generously. There was laughter, chatter, the hum of contentment all around — but also a kind of reverent silence from patrons mid-bite, lost in their own private bliss. If Michelin gave stars for soul, this place would have a galaxy. If critics seek authenticity, generosity, and flavor that rewires your understanding of ice cream, they’ll find it here — scooped high, wrapped in smiles, and served in bowls too full to finish but too good not to try. Come hungry. Come happy. Come ready to leave changed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A dessert pilgrimage worth every mile.
Adam B — Google review
The staff were very proud of their large scoop sizes and advised us to order smalls rather than mediums, which was good advice. It seemed odd to us that especially with the large scoops, splitting scoops wasn't allowed- so you had to get a small and only one flavor. The ice cream itself was okay. Not good enough to go back for another visit in the future to try different flavors.
Charity D — Google review
I might be the only person to feel this way… but I don’t need more ice cream than I ask for. I ordered one scoop and was handed what can only be described as a dairy avalanche. I asked for a cup because there was no way I was managing that on a tiny sugar cone. They gave me their biggest cup—like, the kind you’d use for soup—and the ice cream was still spilling over. Truthfully a waste on the businesses part as I threw away an untouched cone, and a full scoop and a half. And in that moment, I understood why America has an obesity problem. 🫠

Excellent. 👍🏼💯👌🏼 They have 15-16 regular ice cream flavors and a few soft serve as well. I had the banana split; the Garbage Can flavor was my favorite. There are 3 tables inside; one 4-top and 2 2-tops. There is also a high chair. Outside there are four picnic tables. Two or three of them have umbrellas. So many different kinds of awesome sundaes and other tests. Lovely place; better than the ice cream shops downtown.

An absolute must-visit for anyone craving a sweet treat in Fernandina Beach. I can't recommend their Apple Pie ice cream enough—it's truly delicious and tastes just like a homemade pie. The soft serve itself is incredibly creamy, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. Beyond the amazing ice cream, the experience is wonderful. The service is exceptionally friendly, and the staff makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. There's also a cute little outdoor seating area where you can relax and enjoy your dessert, which adds to the charming, classic ice cream shop atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to stop for a refreshing break on a hot day.

Pirate Playground is a hidden gem located behind the Fernandina Beach Recreation Office, offering a pirate-themed play area for children aged 10 and under. The playground features swings, a sandpit, musical instruments, and pretend play areas including a pirate ship and shops. It is safely enclosed with restroom facilities available. While some visitors note that maintenance could be improved, others appreciate its well-kept condition and suitability for younger kids to interact and play together.
Best playground we have been to! We were on vacation and needed a place for the kiddos to run around. They would have stayed there all day if we let them! So much for going to all the exciting "tourist attractions" we planned. They had so much fun here. It was all they talked about. Free playground and so many fun activities for them. Make sure to put a lot of sunscreen on them!

Highly recommend. There is a walking trail. Lots of shade & squirrels lol. Nice public restrooms, picnic tables, & a water fountain. It's well worth the trip!

Great little park with lots of different toys. They have diggers which you don't see a lot of in Florida and my son loves them. Very clean and shady which makes it comfortable for parents as well.

Cool little playground. I liked the excavator in the sand. We also hopped on the trail and took a little hike where we saw bunnies and a couple of alligators.

Cute little playground right near the Greenway. Perfect for getting the family out to walk and play when you're at the beach. There's a fun little water and sand area in addition to climbing structures and swings.

One of the best playgrounds ive ever seen very clean cool things for kids to play on and most importantly it is shaded.

Perfect for toddlers. Decent shade coverage from trees. Plenty of seating for parents as well. My toddlers love bringing their tricycles and riding around the place in addition to the fixtures.

We were recommended this park from another family staying at our hotel. Easy walk from seaside inn. We had a great time at the park! We took a small walk and found turtles and lots of birds. However, when we returned to the park, there was a homeless man cleaning his belongings at the pavilion and took the single restroom for nearly an hour which was an inconvenience because my 4 year old needed to use the restroom. Other than that the park was very clean and there seemed to be ample parking. We can't wait to visit again!

First Love Brew Pub on Amelia Island is a place where visitors can experience the enchantment of pursuing their passions and dreams. The brewery offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, with 20 rotating taps of in-house brewed beer to choose from. Guests can savor unique brews like Lily, a Belgian Tripel with citrus, pear, and clove notes, or A Beacon of Light, a creamy Milk Stout.
Excellent beer and really good pizza. Stopped by with the pup so we grabbed a picnic table outside. The beer was cold and delicious. The pizza was sneakily good - crispy thin crust. Downed the whole thing with ease! Had a nice salad as well. Nice brewery!

Outstanding service, food, and microbrewery. Come and support a small business with love in its name and action. Huge supporter of local community events. Frequent live concerts, special attractions, and school fundraisers hosted. Indoor or outdoor seating available for great conversation and get togethers. Wings you will come back for time and again or was it the the smash burger or the service or was it the comraderie?

We loved this little brewery for its flagship product, Beer, which is the reason for our visit. Everything we tried was either very good or great. The Lily Belgian Tripel was awesome: crisp, clean tasting, and flavorful. The bartender was friendly and most informative. The space in the storefront location just off historic Centre Street is small and brings about a chill brewery vibe. We didn't try the food. The employees we talked to all seemed enthusiastic about First Love Brewing Pub. We wish much success for this business venture and will support it again upon a future visit (and try more of their beers).

Great place, very good food! Pizza was a bit salty but otherwise very good. Fries and wings awesome! All the employees were very nice and helpful. Good atmosphere! Also, the prices were pretty good for this current market$$$

Our first visit , read a food critic blog and she raved about the brewery. We are not big beer consumers, but we are pizza critics and I have to tell you , the Pizza is by far the best Pizza we have had in Nassau, Duval, Clay, and Flagler County. This will definitely be our Pizza joint...... I wish they did have tea options along with an Arnold Palmer though......

Was in the area visiting and had an exceptional time here. Staff were very friendly and had great suggestions. The brews were all great but the hoppy imperial lager Sonic Dissonance was our groups favorite. The pizza was delicious and the truffle fries got eaten almost as soon as they got put down for being so good. Great family place with outdoor picnic benches and plenty of indoor seating indoors for those rainy days. Will come back when in town again. Cheers!!

Hotel
Seaside Amelia Inn on Amelia Island, FL offers bright rooms with balconies in a relaxed beach setting. The venue features a pool, sundeck, and complimentary breakfast. In 2010, Omni Hotels & Resorts acquired the property and expanded its pools, hotel rooms, and conference center. A 10-hole golf course called Little Sandy was added for golfers of all ages. Future plans include updating retail shops and enhancing wellness facilities and sustainability efforts.
Thomas is the most welcoming and helpful operations manager I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He immediately went up with me to check on the fan. Bonnie and Keira were nice as well. The balcony rooms on north side are the best and nicely remodeled and furnished. Clean as well. Can’t wait to return! Breakfast was great!

Overall a really nice hotel!!! So accessible to the beach and the hotel itself is very clean!! The staff was super nice and friendly and any corner I tuned there was always someone cleaning!! (Which I like to see). If you ever decide to book, BOOK THROUGH THE HOTEL!!! I say this because our room was extremely tiny and not advertised properly, but that WAS NOT the hotels fault it was the third party site we booked through. There’s also a great restaurant right next to the hotel!! The breakfast was also super good and fresh tasting! And my all time favorite feature was the ice/water station for my water bottle, I drink a lot of water and this station offered filtered cold water and ice!! We will definitely be back!!

Good value for the price! Would stay here again. 10/10 location for convenience to beach, 2 restaurants, and a gas station. Easy access getting downtown and around town. Hotel was in good condition, room was solid (I was generously upgraded to a room with a balcony facing the street which was a tad noisy at times), breakfast was OK, parking was easy. Safe and comfortable for the 5 days/4 nights I stayed.

I booked this hotel for a relaxing vacation with my 7-year-old son and instead felt bullied and unsafe. The rooms are old, dingy, and smell of mold. Dogs are allowed throughout the building, which made both my son’s and my allergies worse. The property looks like it just had a coat of paint slapped on without fixing the real issues. Parking is a nightmare. The hotel sits next to a busy public beach lot, and their own parking is small and confusing. The front desk told me I could park anywhere, so I did. Later that night, I was woken up out of a dead sleep by an aggressive women pounding on my door, screaming at me that I was in a numbered spot, and threatening that a tow truck was already outside. Why would you call a tow truck when you know my room number and could have just ask me to move it my room number is right there you knew which room I was in! To make things worse, the woman who actually owned the truck was waiting at her spot and screamed at me too. All she had to say was, “Oh, no worries, you’re in my spot,” but instead she decided to unload on me like it was some kind of power trip. I’m a single mom here alone with my young son — there was absolutely no reason for this level of aggression or bullying. Instead of apologizing for the confusion, the front desk staff doubled down and became nasty. This was unprofessional, frightening, and completely ruined our stay. Between the rude staff, chaotic parking, moldy rooms, and poor beach access, this hotel is absolutely not worth the money. I felt threatened and bullied. Also, I got bedbugs. My son and I were bit by bedbugs. This is a dirty disgusting hotel! I will never return and strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.

This place came recommended by a dear friend and I cannot say my family and I had a good experience at all and I would NEVER go back. That is saying a lot for me because I know we are all human and things happen/people make mistakes. However, in my very short stay here, too many mistakes happened and there was ZERO hospitality or accountability. First, I was excited that this place allowed you to reserve beach chairs upon booking! This was a huge help so I did not have to bring my own and an umbrella for my toddler. I was so upset after check in, I get a call from the front office staff member Bonnie and was told that the chairs were sold out for the next day. I was very confused because I thought they were booked when I reserved the room. Bonnie informed me the hotel does not know about the chair reservations until check in. I expressed (very kindly) that this was a HUGE issue because my toddler will need shade for the beach and that I didn’t understand why reserving chairs was even an option upon booking if it would not be guaranteed. Very little sympathy was shown to the point where she said “I do not know how to make you understand”. I told her that reserving chairs for guests at booking should be off the table if this was going to happen and she should share that with her general manager. Secondly, upon arrival our refrigerator was not working. Requested maintenance to come out the next day (since they already had left for the day), but they never came. Luckily we were able to get it working in time before our food/milk for my toddler spoiled. However, never received a call to check in and maintenance was never out to check. Thirdly, the same night of check in, we pulled out the spare couch bed for the kids to find dirty linens on the mattress. Really?! Bonnie again was very little help other than just giving us clean linens. Lastly and even more upsetting, I left a message TWICE to speak to the general manager Libby. I am yet to get a call. Pretty terrible hospitality if you ask me, hence why we will never return and you shouldn’t either. The only positive for the stay was the breakfast. It was included in the price and was delicious!! The lady serving breakfast was also very kind! That is the only positive for this place.

Beds are very comfortable. Quiet hotel very clean ! Breakfast included in the morning from 630-10 am..eggs ..bacon..english muffins.. fresh fruit ..juice. parking garage directly under hotel. Walk to beach less than 500 feet. Walk to restaurants like the Sandbar and the Salt life. Less than 2 miles to downtown to walk around all the shops and restaurants. Hotel is in perfect location . They also have a table for guests to write on a seashell and leave it which we did.. wonderful idea. Staff is amazing ..so friendly ,Helpful and professional .we will definitely be visiting again soon !

I’m giving 3 stars mainly because of the room. The service was great and the location was very convenient. We chose a parlor room with a balcony, but it was surprisingly small. There wasn’t even a table—just a single chair squeezed in. A simple table would have made a big difference, maybe enough for 3.5 stars. The bathroom was also very tiny, with hardly any counter space unless you don’t have much to set down. The “side tables” next to the bed were about a foot square and attached to the wall or bed frame—very different from the pictures shown on the website. The pool felt more like an oversized jacuzzi, but without any of the jacuzzi features. The bed was uncomfortable for me, though that could vary depending on personal preference. I understand hotels aren’t usually for spending the whole day in, but a little more space and some basic furniture like proper tables would have made the stay much more comfortable.

This was our second visit to Amelia Island. We decided to try a different hotel but shouldn’t have. First gal that met us at the counter had zero personality. She wasn’t warm and welcoming. She almost seemed annoyed I was asking her questions. Bonnie was the gal who actually checked us in hours later. She wasn’t warm amazing. So warm and welcoming. Very patient with questions. Parking is an absolute nightmare. We came back to our room around 11pm. No parking up top. None in the shared parking garage with the condo next door. Bonnie had to give us HER parking spot so we would t get towed from the public parking lot. The pictures online make the rooms look larger/nicer than they are. It’s almost like staying in a Cracker Jack box. The couch is almost like a toddler’s couch. While I appreciate the ceiling fan in the room, it has so much dust on it I cleaned it before we turned it on. For the price we paid, I expected more. Bonnie was the only saving grace for this trip but we won’t stay here again.

The Amelia River Club is a renowned golf course in North Florida, offering an 18-hole track designed by Tom Jackson. The course features a picturesque setting with grand Oaks, Sabal Palms, Pines, Wax Myrtles, and live marshes. With 6,808 yards from the back tees, it presents a challenge with large greens and rolling fairways that demand ball control and precision.
Great golf course that was in great shape and there were some tricky holes. The restaurant was nice as well serving up good breakfast and lunch options. Driving range was good and very close to everything which is always a bonus. Pro shop had lots of options and the staff were super nice. The only thing I would like to see are showers in the locker rooms but overall great experience. Thank you!

Such a great experience playing this course we visit regularly from out of state! I’ll be honest we have played all the courses in the area public and private and none of them compare to this one. All the employees were the friendliest staff I’ve ever seen at a course. Our go too from now on- thanks for a great time!

Gorgeous course. Staff and amenities are top notch. Greens and fairways are tournament shape. The layout as well is challenging but fun to play. A lot of the fairways are pretty forgiving so I wouldn't consider it a tight course. You're very close to the beach so the breeze is nice. We played at one of the hottest times of the year and it was still very tolerable. Highly recommend.

We Had the best time playing yesterday. The course played great, is in real nice condition, and the people were SUPER friendly. Cheryl and Craig took great care of us getting us checked in, and on the tee box. My guests and I had a great time. We rented three sets of clubs and the Taylor Made QI 10s are phenomenal. Steve M — Google review
In a part of Florida that is known for prestigious private and resort golf clubs, the Amelia River Club has been recognized as one of the most prestigious courses in all of North Florida. The Club is located on Amelia Island, just north of Jacksonville and within minutes of the historic town of Fernandina Beach. It’s and a favorite of both local golfers and visitors to the Amelia Island area for many years. It’s not your typical daily fee facility; the fairways are always in pristine condition with well-manicured fairways and sculpted bunkers that lead to smooth TifEagle greens that roll fast and true. This Tom Jackson-designed course gives you five sets of tees to choose from and can be played anywhere from 4,706 yards for seniors, juniors, and ladies, to 6,860 yards for low handicappers. The scorecard also adds in a couple of Combo yardages so finding one suitable for your game shouldn’t be a problem. At 6,349 yards from the Blue Tees, Amelia River Club is long enough that you’ll have ample opportunity to “grip it and rip it!” You’ll also need a fair amount of ball control and accuracy if you want to score well. There are no houses in the course, just you, lush green fairways, and that little white ball! Some of the holes are wide open and highly susceptible to the winds that often blow off the nearby water. Others feature tree-lined fairways sculpted around stands of live oaks, sable palms, pines, and wax myrtles. Water comes into play on at least thirteen holes; creeks cross the fairway in several places and there’s a good chance you won’t know they’re there. You’ll also find a lot of mounding on the peripheries of the fairways. The greens are well-protected with sand traps and grassy mounds. As it is with several courses in northeast Florida, Amelia River Club’s signature hole is a par 3 with an island green. That seems to be the theme up here! Number 17 plays 147-yard over water into an island green. The triangular green is guarded by a small bunker front left. Distance control and accuracy are needed to score well. Before your round, warm up on Amelia River Club’s full-length driving range where you can hit every club in the bag. If your game needs some work, check out Amelia River Club’s state-of-the-art Performance Center which opened in the fall of 2022. The Performance Center offers club fittings and golf lessons to help you get the most out of that new set of clubs. They use the latest technology including Trackman, which can provide instant feedback and help determine the best clubhead and shafts for your particular golf swing. In the event you need a lesson, Amelia River Club’s staff will work with you to improve your game. Whether you’re new to golf and want to learn the fundamentals, or you’re a seasoned player who just needs to tweak a few things, they’ll work with you to find the best solution for game improvement. The club’s experienced staff can put together a package that includes preferred lesson scheduling “on-course” playing lessons, and much more. Give them a call to set it in motion! Inside the Cape Cod-style clubhouse, you’ll find the newly remodeled pro shop with all kinds of golf accessories, necessities, and logoed apparel, as well as the River Bar and Grille. The menu features all kinds of delicious breakfast items, as well as burgers, handheld sandwiches, and salads if you play later in the day. Adult beverages are also available, and the bar and grill are open until 5 pm with both indoor and outdoor seating. Can’t get enough of the Amelia River Club’s golf facilities? Consider becoming a member. The club offers several membership categories including Single and Family Full Memberships, Corporate and Social Memberships.

Friendly staff. Can tell the course and team is trying to make it better, but gonna be another couple of years before it’s great. In the meantime, as long as you roll the ball a bit in the fairways, it’s a good experience. Greens were true. Good pace of play on a Thursday afternoon. Disappointed I called and they said fee would be one thing, then I showed up and it was more. Twilight starts at 3 now apparently. Call and confirm. But I also didn’t have a tee time. I’ll definitely go back, mix in a low cost muni once in a while, pay $149 down the road once in a while. Generally open fairways and trees are fairly forgiving if you hit a bad one. Some tee boxes are struggling, but can see progress. West course is long!

After reading some of the recent reviews my son and I decided to try this course while on a trip to Amelia Island. The course was is decent shape but much better then the old reviews give it credit for. We played the West Course then the South Course as the North Course was closed for aeration. Tee boxes were in good shape and fairways were mostly well maintained. As a recent reviewer noted, if you find yourself in the rough it may take a bit of time to find your ball as it tends to sit down deep in the grass. You will find it but it does slow the pace a bit. We played as a twosome and had a cart. The round took just over 3 hours since there was no one ahead of us. Greens were in good shape. They rolled much slower then what we are used to back home which took some adjusting but for the most part rolled slow and true. Pro Shop was nice…and cool after the hot round. Lots of great gear and the guy running the pro shop was nice and welcoming. Overall I’d definitely recommend this course if visiting the area. Right price, some interesting holes and right on the island!

I'll start with some positives. The greens are in great shape and roll really well. The layout of the course is really beautiful. A true lynx style type of design. The clubhouse staff were great. The starters and rangers were in a foul mood and we had the earliest tee time of the day, 7am, even though they let two groups roll in front of us because they were "members". The mentality of disgruntled drill sergeants. Maybe I'm just spoiled? In Central FL $50 will get you some really decent golf. And I've played in rural areas where theres not really many courses. We played the South and North course. The South was abhorrent. If you could find grass to hit off of, it was probably a grass stump, and probably in a sand trap. Theres no irrigation that I could see so the fairways are just beat up. Tee boxes are the same. Two holes on the South were not only temp tees, but they had you teeing up off of beat up range mat because the ground was literally that destroyed. The North was better. Some fairway grass and where there was grass is was in decent shape. Again, the layout is really cool. Which makes it almost tragic. Easily the worst course on the island.

I can’t say enough about my experience playing Fernandina Beach golf course. The golf course staff are top shelf, very courteous and helpful and made me, an out of towner, feel like I was a local. The grill food was good also. The golf course itself is in great shape, very challenging, and tons of fun to play. No complaints either about the pace of play even though the course can get very busy. I have played several of the expensive courses on Amelia Island and I can tell you that on all future trips I will play no other course but the Fernandina Beach golf course.
George B — Google review
For the past 2 years I have played the other course up the road because I read poor reviews of FBC. This year, the reviews of FBC sounded better, so I decided I would try it. I have to say, this course is FANTASTIC. I guess a year ago it was in a little rough shape, but that is certainly not the case now. I played on Saturday morning and was paired with 3 other players. We played the West and then the South Courses. Tee boxes were fine, fairways were perfect and greens were just as good. I wish I had time to play it again while in town on vacation. Pros: Affordable ($65 for Saturday morning 18), Conditions were very nice, beverage cart came by regularly, Footjoy shirts were on sale for $60 each in the pro shop and I picked up a couple to take home. Cons: practice green was in rough shape.

Charming bed and breakfast just off Center Street so shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Breakfast was served on the veranda or in the dining room and it was delicious. Happy hour at 5 pm included a chance to meet other guests and enjoy good quality wines. Lisa and Ron were available and very helpful. The addison is an ideal location for exploring Ferdinana Beach, you are literally 1 block from where allnof the shops and restaurants are and 4 blocks from the river. As to the facility itself, assuming you understand that an 1870 victorian house isnt the same as a new hotel, you are going to love both the house and the proprietors. The daily breakfast was excellent, varied and served in just the right portions. There is an afternoon happy hour where beer and wine are available at no additional cost, and there is coffee available all day. The room was clean and comfortable, we stayed in room 14 which had a balcony which overlooked ash street, most of the upper floors had a shared balcony and the lower floors had a deck out onto the patio. Our balcony was private and 13 steps across, the bathroom was large and included both a tub and a shower, the TV was simple to use. This really was a perfect place for my wife and I to stay. The first 2 pictures are of the patio, the third is a picture from the balconylcony taken at 5:30 am just before sunrise, the fourth picture is a breakfast meal, then the indoor eating area, a couple shots of the room and finally the porch, A++++, thank you Addison

A fantastic stay for all as about 17 of us spent 4 days and 3 nights at the inn with Ron and Lisa. They made the stay a 5 star, as did everything else. They generously took care of us and even slipped in a lot of "special" things to make our stay absolutely amazing. The breakfasts were handled with care and love.....somethings I'd not prepare (time!, time, time!!) and so the meal in the morning was always a delight and filling. Easy access to the Island and loads to do while you're there! We stayed in a courtyard facing room and the vegetation was spectacular. Try it! You'll like it. We hope to get back soon.

Room was clean, owners extremely friendly and welcoming. Felt like home. They have a very sweet dog that loves to greet everyone. Offer complimentary bikes to use, breakfast and drink hour in the evening. Within walking distance of the main street with stores/restaurants, etc. Very quiet location. Worth the price! Will visit again!!

The Addison on Amelia is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast. We loved our room. It was charming, plush, comfortable and really clean. I had ordered a chilled bottle of wine and a fruit/cheese platter for when we arrived. It was in our room and perfect for relaxing on our private porch…especially after being in the car for several hours. The owners, Ron and Lisa couldn’t have been nicer or more welcoming. We highly recommend The Addison on Amelia.

The Beach Store & More is a one-stop shop for all your beach needs. From sunscreen and beach toys to swimwear, souvenirs, and refreshments, this store has everything you need for a day at the beach. Whether you're looking for fishing gear or stylish beach cover-ups, they've got you covered. Located near beautiful beaches like Main Beach Park and Seaside Park Beach in Fernandina Beach, it's the perfect place to stock up before heading to the shore.
Great rental location on Fletcher circle along the beach in Fernandina Beach . We rented two Tommy Bahama chairs and a Solbello wind canopy* for $120/ week. Great deal compared to other services that charge more and do set up and take down from 9-5 ( this rental is great for staying on the beach until sunset). Easy pick up and drop off. Mike was helpful with location orientation for restaurants etc. *We were initially concerned about the wind canopy if there was NO wind. We were assured there was always wind. One day we had no wind in the morning. We noticed others had tent cords and stakes to secure the canopy open. We did not have those items. Worth asking Mike if he can provide the stakes and cords for the rental.

I stopped by Beach Rentals this week to grab a kayak for a couple hours while in town. I was absolutely blown away by my experience. It appeared to be a couple running the store, and they had to be the most helpful, resourceful, and customer oriented store owners I've ever come across. When asking for the kayak, they recommended I look at renting a board instead -- which was a much cheaper rental -- because the tide was heading out and waves would have made the experience pretty miserable. They had live data on the weather, tides, wave heights and frequency, and was pretty insistent I went with something that'd be fun --and less expensive. They were extremely accommodating and friendly, offering tips and suggestions. I think I was more taken back by them suggesting I take a more cost-effective option so I'd have a better experience. Certainly something I've never experienced when renting ocean gear from other like places --which I do frequently when travelling. Such an incredible experience and kudos for the owners on how they run their business. They aren't just pushing you into what they can make the most money off, they truly want the best experience for their customers --what a concept. The prices for their rentals I felt were very reasonable anyway, however, when I returned the rented board, they only charged half of what the full rental price was because I didn't have for a full two hours. I honestly can't say enough about this store, it's owners and the way it's run. Incredible experience and I will be going back next time I'm in town. I highly recommend.

We’ve been renting bikes every spring break for years and it’s always a great experience. Mike is friendly and easy to work with. Bikes are dropped off at our condo at the Omni in great condition and our family enjoys riding them while at Amelia Island!

Locally owned with friendly service and great prices! My beach chair strap broke right before our vacation and I knew I had to replace it, but didn't have time. I figured I'd be able to find a replacement in the area on our trip. Our first stop was at a chain place on the way into town but I refused to pay $55+ for a flimsy no-name beach chair that I figured wouldn't last me the weekend. I'm glad I passed up because the chairs at The Beach Store were much more resonable in price and of much better quality. (they also rent beach gear if you don't want to buy) We also purchased a kite for the beach that was of such good quality that it actually came back home with us -- usually they get tangled and ripped before our day is done! We stopped back in the last day of our trip so our kids could each pick out a small souvenir.

The owners, husband and wife are very nice and provide excellent service. Free delivery and pickup of our bikes. Bikes were in great condition and reliable. This is our 2nd time renting bikes from them. Highly recommend!

Mike was super helpful, prices were fair and less than at other places. We spent one day in downtown fernandina beach and then he picked up the bikes and brought them to the Omni for us. One morning one bike had a flat , he replaced the bike in 30 Minutes and we were back on the road. Here is a picture of the gang ! They all have names , makes it easier to find your bike, we had 7.

Mike is friendly and if you need a fun surfboard rental to hit the waves you can get one for a very reasonable rate of $25 for 24 hours. They have various sized fun shape and longboards with soft tops. If you are more experienced they have some performance board options also.

Very friendly service and enjoyed tooling around the island! The associate helped point me in the right direction to the Greenway in the middle of the island to reach the historic downtown area. Very easy to navigate! Appreciate they offered a bike lock and helmet with rental. Highly recommend.

Bed & breakfast
The Blue Heron Inn Bed and Breakfast, located at 102 South 7th Street in Fernandina Beach, Florida, offers beautifully restored rooms with flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and antique furnishings. Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool and garden while indulging in a complimentary gourmet breakfast served on fine china. This turn-of-the-century inn features six elegantly appointed guest rooms with private baths and original heart pine floors.
We just fell in love with Amelia Island and the best place to stay when visiting. The Blue Heron Inn Bed & Breakfast is owned by the nicest family you’ll ever meet and will be the only place we stay when we return. Here’s why? Charles and Rebecca, the owners are so welcoming and eager to get you settled so you can enjoy your time on the island. We stayed on the 3rd floor, the Hummingbird suite, and it exceeded all of our expectations. It’s the only room on the 3rd floor for a true sense of privacy, the jacuzzi tub was perfect us to relax after a day of exploring. Carol was equally as welcoming and prepared delicious breakfast to get the day started. The home is exceptionally clean and beautiful while walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. At 5pm, they host a ‘Happy Hour’ with light bites, beer and wine. Pro Tip: Book directly with Charles at the Inn for the Best Rate period. When you call the home he’ll take call and set you up. Thank you again for such a memorable Birthday weekend for my wife and decorating our room to make it extra special. We’ll be back soon.

I couldn’t disagree more with the previous written negative. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The innkeeper, Susan, was gracious, attentive, and added to the charm of the stay. The rooms were clean and cozy, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was in order. The hospitality felt genuine, and it created a warm, inviting atmosphere. The breakfast was fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and far better than anything you’d get at a standard chain hotel. This inn has its own special character that makes it stand out. I would absolutely recommend staying here and look forward to coming back on future trips.

I recently had the most relaxing stay ever at Blue Heron Inn Bed & Breakfast, and it was even kid-friendly! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a serene and inviting atmosphere that made it easy to unwind and enjoy our time there. The inn itself is beautifully maintained, with charming decor that adds to the cozy ambiance. The pool was a highlight, providing a perfect spot for both adults and kids to relax and have fun. It was always clean and well-kept, making it a delightful place to spend our afternoons. The staff at Blue Heron Inn are the sweetest and most caring people you could hope to meet. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made our stay even more enjoyable. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed, and their kindness made us feel right at home. Breakfast each morning was a treat, with delicious and varied options that catered to all tastes. The hosts, Becca and Charles, are exceptional, and their dedication to creating a wonderful experience for their guests is evident in every aspect of the inn. Overall, my stay at Blue Heron Inn Bed & Breakfast was nothing short of perfect. The combination of a relaxing environment, excellent amenities, kid-friendly atmosphere, and outstanding staff makes it a place I highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway. I can’t wait to return!

Beautiful bed and breakfast in an excellent location to all that Amelia Island has to offer. The owners, Charles and Rebecca, are sweet and wonderful people. They provide a beautifully decorated, clean B&B and take great pride in their business. Their employees are also terrific; Carol is a gem and cooks the most delicious breakfast. We enjoyed the meals she prepared for us on their wrap around porch and could not have asked for a better experience. Every detail is thought of. From the beautiful white and gold plates to the matching coffee cups; linen napkins and placemats complete the setting. This sweet, caring couple wants their guests to feel like a member of their family and they have succeeded. We cannot wait to return to Amelia Island and stay at their establishment. If you enjoy beautiful, timeless decor in a cozy home environment with caring hosts and delicious breakfast, do not hesitate to book your stay with Blue Heron Inn Bed and Breakfast...you will be glad you did!

I visited this Inn a while back. Then went again for 2 nights in August. I was greatly impressed with the new management. Ms. Susan was a wonderful host. The breakfast she served was very good. I have never had a frittata! It was so good , light and fluffy! With a side of fresh fruit and a sausage link. Also, the grounds and house had significant improvements since my last visit! The pool area looked amazing! New landscaping, lights around the pool ! I loved to be able to sit out by the pool and have a drink! I love the area ! We walked around downtown! A wonderful visit! Highly recommend!

My husband surprised me with a weekend getaway to Amelia Island.Fernandina Beach and first time in a B&B. Now we are spoiled and the bar is set high for future B&B’s. This is the most lovely and comfortable place for a little getaway. Miss Susan the Inn Hostess was so sweet and wonderful from the moment we stepped in until we left. Sunday morning breakfast was fabulous, as were the cookies!! You won’t be disappointed with a stay here!! Can’t wait for the next visit!!

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU’RE MARRIED. The older inn keeper kept on trying to flirt with my husband. She’s well into her 50’s and needs to get another hobby. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in my life. On the other hand, she does absolutely nothing. She just sits back and watches everyone else do the work. Rooms were dirty, hospitality was lacking, and the food reminded me of Hampton inn breakfast. Do not waste your money here, stay somewhere else. Would highly NOT RECOMMEND.

Nassau Health Foods is a great health food store with helpful staff and an extensive vegan and dairy free selection. The prices are on the high side, but the quality of the foods is worth it.
I moved to Fernandina Beach 12 years ago. Was very happy to learn that Nassau Health Food was on the Island. The store has changed over the past years, but they always seem to be improving. The store owners seem to be hands on. This is a smaller store but perfect for Our Island. If visiting, you will find it warm and relaxing. They are currently doing some re-modeling to make even more improvements. They expanded The Amelia Fresh Cafe. You are able to eat inside or outdoors. They have a good selection of organic fruits and vegetables. They have spices and herbs. You can order a sandwich made fresh. The Chefs are very good. If you need general type of vitamins and health drinks, they have it. I recommend this store, you will not leave the store empty handed.

I have bought many items from the store in the past and normally it's been a pleasant experience. However, I can tell you now after my last experience I will never go back. The convenience of paying more for items that I could easily get online is no longer worth it.

I love this place so much. Delicious food in the deli as well as lots of good things to add to food and smoothies like collagen and colostrum.

Had lunch today with my husband at the Nassau Health Food Cafe. This is my 4 th time eating there and the food is always excellent!! I should have acknowledged this gem before, but am rectifying that oversight now. I had the most delicious BLT (that I have ever had by the way) and my husband had the burger, which he said was delicious. The meal was just a little over $ 20.00, which on the island is almost free. If you haven’t been- I recommend highly!!

If you're looking for a spine-tingling adventure, the Ghost Tours of Amelia Island offer an unforgettable experience steeped in history and mystery. These captivating walking tours take you through the island's haunted homes and eerie graveyards, revealing chilling tales from its storied past filled with piracy and paranormal activity. As night falls, you'll embark on a journey that uncovers the secrets lurking in Fernandina Beach, where ghostly encounters are not just folklore but part of the fabric of this enchanting locale.
We had a great time on our ghost tour. We go to a ghost tour in every city we visit, and this was one of the best ghost tours we have been on. The tour guide really knows her stuff and tells good stories while showing cool pictures from past tours. This was one of the most legit and spooky tours I’ve been on.
Michael H — Google review
This tour was purchased for us as part of our honeymoon, we arrived ahead of time but the Guide did not show up for the pub crawl. We saw another guide who was just finishing the regular tour and told us our guide should be there shortly. We found out after checking the website that our tour had been cancelled, zero notification from the company to us or anyone else booked on. The other 7 people booked on the tour were locals so we went on our own ghost tour that one gets a 5 star review. The official paid for tour 0/10.
Ian B — Google review
Colleen was a wonderful tour guide. She is a great story teller and the entire tour was fascinating. Even if you don’t believe in ghosts, the historical knowledge she has will keep you interested the whole time. Definitely recommend!
Lindsey H — Google review
We did the bar crawl and had a blast! Colleen is a great guide and really pulls you into the local legends. She went above and beyond for the tour and you can tell she loves ghost hunting and she brought some ghost hunting equipment. Would definitely recommend. It's not just bars she does houses and bars and it's a lot more fun and you can hear. Some bar crawls they just go in bars and it's loud this one is laid out great!
Kris K — Google review
We did the haunted bar crawl on Saturday and Colleen was so fun! She really knows the stories and history. Fernandina is a scary place!
Jaylyn D — Google review
Do not book a tour with this company. We did a haunted bar crawl and per the website were supposed to visit 3 to 4 bars. When the tour started we were immediately told only 1 to 2 bar stops for the night because 3 to 4 stops would mean the tour would be 4 hours long. The tour guide's husband took us into the 1st bar and immediately marched up to order his drink. No such thing as letting the guests go first. The tour guide showed us ghost images on an iPad zooming into pictures. Just a scam
Jeanneen B — Google review
My daughter and I went on this ghost tour on 11/13/21 it was amazing I couldn’t of asked for a better night out. The tour guides where amazing very informative and just great to hang out with. Are emf readers that they give you where lighting up all over. If you are going to Amelia island I suggest to dob this tour or any of the ones she does in going to come back by myself and do to rated R tour myself I can’t wait!!!
Alicia M — Google review
Terrible Experience – Avoid This Tour! I booked the Amelia Island Haunted Pub Crawl for a fun night out on my birthday back in early July. We were promised a haunted pub crawl with stops at several bars, but our tour guide, Colleen, never showed up. Instead, we were awkwardly merged with a family-friendly ghost tour that wasn’t what we paid for. The tour guide who took over tried to do the pub crawl at the same time as the other tour, and everything was rushed. We barely had time for one drink at the first bar, which was about to close within the last 8 minutes of being open. Despite staying on the tour for over an hour and a half, we never made it to another bar. To top it off, the souvenir we were promised never happenes either. I contacted Colleen immediately after the tour, and she promised to resolve the issue. It’s been over a month and a half, and I’ve received nothing but silence. No refund, no follow-up, nothing. After checking other reviews, I’ve found that this isn’t an isolated incident—others have had similar experiences. If you’re looking for a legitimate ghost tour, look elsewhere. This company is scamming tourists out of their money. Save your time and money, and avoid this tour at all costs!

Every year, the charming town of Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island transforms into a vibrant hub of celebration during the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival, held on the first weekend in May. This lively event draws thousands who come to indulge in delicious shrimp dishes from local restaurants while enjoying an array of arts and crafts. The festival features live music, a colorful parade, and spectacular fireworks that light up the night sky.
Fun festival with many food stands and art and random item stands as well as a bunch of tourists stores around the area and live music, little bit of lack of restrooms but there is a pile back by the ocean where the food and bands are playing
David V — Google review
I had a great time listening to music with friends. This is my fourth shrimp festival and probably last. I notice there was NO diversity among the merchandise vendors, and the food this year was dismal. $20 for a small bowl of 6 shrimp & grits w/fries (snack size). Going to a local restaurant would have been better.
Fullando J — Google review
By far the largest festival I have ever gone to. Vendors galore!!
Carla D — Google review
I didn't enjoy the vendors or the area they had the Festival in. There was so much dirt and dust. The food wasn't that great.

I have missed this festival for the past two years. I just had an amazing time at the shrimp festival this past weekend. 2022. I have to complement the city. The organizers do a fantastic job. The music, the vendors the entertainment, the cleanup everything is first class. Of course my favorite time of the whole weekend is the swinging medallions on Sunday and they were amazing. This is a first class festival. The team should be awarded
