Museum Kura Hulanda in Curacao is a significant site that educates visitors about the island's role in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. Located in Willemstad, where enslaved individuals were once traded, this museum offers a comprehensive overview of this dark period in history. Through its exhibits featuring documents and artifacts, it effectively communicates the impact of slavery and promotes understanding and unity. Additionally, the museum sheds light on the island's history as a cultural melting pot.
Museum Kurá Hulanda is a fascinating journey through history, spanning cultural areas and time periods such as the transatlantic slave trade, West African Empires, Mesopotamian relics, and Antillean art. We chose to explore with a tour guide, which turned out to be an excellent decision—there’s so much to take in, and the guide added depth and context to the experience. While the exhibits are incredibly enriching, some of the topics are emotionally heavy, so be prepared for that. Overall, it’s worthwhile for anyone interested in the Antilles history and culture.
Tanyia J — Google review
A really impressing exhibition. Slavery and colonialism is part of Curacaos history. I had a guide which explained good, but going in the deep it is better walking around alone. Unfortunately I think there is no much caring about actualizing. It looked like as if nothing had been done for 30 years. Fotos and copies of documents are fading. But I was really touched. Worth a visit and thinking a bit about Imperialism, modern slavery, tyrans, autocracies … and drinking a lot of rum after the conclusion, that mankind is Not willing to learn …
Elisabeth H — Google review
My wife and I loved the museum. We easily lost track of time and spent 2 hours viewing the different exhibits. My only complaint is that the lighting on some of the exhibits were poor.
Frank U — Google review
My women's group took a guided tour here. It was very informative and overwhelming moving. Going down to the hull of the slave ship had me in tears. It's one thing to read about them, but seeing it was heartbreaking. I definitely recommend taking the tour when in Curacao.
Katrena “ — Google review
Kura Hulanda is wonderful place to lean about the Atlantic slave trade from a Dutch and Curacao point if view. The museum is broken up into sections and it also includes North American and United States history of slavery and oppression. I really appreciated the artifacts displayed. You can opt in for a guided tour for an additional fee (cash only).
Erika W — Google review
I was hoping for a little more information and explanation of the items in the exhibition. Even though the museum has a large amount of historical content and you can lose track of time some exhibition information is getting washed by the time. Also you can feel a foul smell at some point. With my girlfriend opted for not paying for a guide which was additional to the entrance fee but might recommend it to get more information on the exhibitions.
Francisco U — Google review
Cute little museum to walk through. Its very small. Can go through with a tour or by yourself.

The tour guide is a must. The photos on Google doesn't help promote this place. But I will be the definitely will.

Beach
Nature & Parks
Mambo Beach, also known as Seaquarium Beach, is a bustling and popular destination located east of Willemstad. The beach offers white sands, clear blue waters, and a variety of amenities such as shops and a swimming area. Visitors can relax on the sun-kissed shores or explore nearby Playa Piskado for an unforgettable snorkeling experience with sea turtles.
Cozy beach, perfect for families with kids as it’s not wavy. The water is clean and warm enough Chairs are $12-15 each. There’s a bar, restaurant
Roland V — Google review
It is the closest beach to downtown Willemstad and that's why it is probably the most popular Also, this is the beach where the tourists from the cruises are taken so I do not recommend you to go those days. It is full of restaurants and bars and it has a rock wall that protects the shore. The beach is full of beds and other kinds of accommodations but you have to pay for them. The prices are not cheap but the place is very pretty.
Diego R — Google review
By far my favorite beach! The beach is a bit crowded sometimes (this shouldn’t be a problem as the beach is large) but very clean and the sand is soft as it’s not rocky nor full of shells/hard corals. Enjoy the view with the sunset and the beautiful restaurants nearby. The parking is for free and feel free to use the chairs at the beach free of charge.
Airin M — Google review
Fun beach to spend the day, make sure you get there early to grab a nice spot with some shade and stay to get a beautiful view of the sunset. I flew my drone in the area without any hassle, for anyone looking to do the same.
K — Google review
The clearest water I have ever seen in my life. Everything is well kept and there are multiple food options. There is a no outside food policy which absolutely sucks. But other than that, it's a great beach.
Chris — Google review
Don‘t miss a visit to the famous Mambo beach, where you can swim in crystal-clear water and unwind on a picture-perfect shore.
Repi N — Google review
Very crowded on the beach and you have to get a chair (about $7 each) or else there isn't really anywhere to sit. The water is nice and I was really wishing I'd brought my snorkel gear because it seemed like it would be amazing!
Teri B — Google review
It's great if you really enjoy people. If you're more of a solitary person, this is not the place for you. Pretty clear water, but many beaches are much clearer. It's nice for a sand beach, but its in no way nicer than literally any other beach on the island. It's location is the sole reason for its popularity. If you want to be close to shopping and food options, it's ideal. Can't get any closer to essentially a shopping mall aligned with the beach and endless food options. That being said, if you wanna drop and absurd amount of money in a very short amount of time, Mambo is the perfect place for you. But if you've got a car, and are fine with pretty much the same food you'll find at the beach restaurants, literally any other beach with a beach bar and restaurant will be infinitely better and cheaper. Personally Playa Kalki is by far the best. Great restaurant bar, and a truly incredible beach. Don't expect much snorkeling at Mambo, though there is some rocks a some tiny bits of coral by the rock wall with fish. You won't see anything special like you will at any Westpunt Beach. We went on a Thursday. I can't imagine how insanely crowded and busy it would be on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. At 11am, finding chairs was a 20 minute mission, and we had to settle for what we could find. Then got hit with 26$ fee as we were leaving. That is understandable I guess.

The Queen Emma Bridge, affectionately known as the "Swinging Old Lady," is a remarkable pedestrian pontoon bridge that dates back to 1888. This iconic structure gracefully opens to allow ships to pass, making it a unique feature of Willemstad's waterfront. As you stroll across this floating marvel, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the vibrant cityscape adorned with colorful Dutch colonial buildings.
Nice bridge to walk over. Its cool to see them open and close the bridge. Great views of town. Stop by during the day to see the beautiful colors of the buildings. Stop by at night to see the bridge and everything light up.
Sharon — Google review
The Queen Emma Bridge is such a fun experience! It swings open and closed to let boats pass, which is unique to watch. Just be mindful if you’re heading to a cruise or tour—sometimes it can stay open for up to half an hour, so plan ahead to avoid waiting.
Marta S — Google review
The Queen Emma Bridge is such a cool experience! The way it moves while you’re walking across feels so strange at first, but in the best way. The boats that hold it up are incredible to see up close—it’s truly one of a kind! At night, the bridge lights up beautifully, and the reflections on the water make it even more magical. Both sides of the harbor glow with color and energy. Definitely a must-see in Curaçao, both day and night!
S W — Google review
Everything about this bridge is wonderful and beautiful. This is a moving bridge when the ferries are moving, and its so cool to observe it. It looks colorful at nights, which is a different experience altogether. This is also a great spot for taking photos
Chandra — Google review
Definitely worth checking out. You can walk over the bridge but also if you hang out long enough you'll see while it opens a little bit for small boats, its opens all the way 90°angle for large boats! Very cool. And its so pretty to walk over & take in the views.
Melissa — Google review
This is a working piece of history and a marvel of innovative solution to let large ships pass through. When lit at night, it's a beautiful view.
A J — Google review
It is a curious and nice experience to look at the bridge and see it while it opens, because some ships are coming through. It is a mandatory place to visit when you are downtown and you can take pictures of the colorful buildings from the other side (Otro anda). Obviously you must visit Otrobanda too and check out the colorful and nice commerce strip with a variety of shops. There are nice restaurants, bars and museums to check out.
Diego R — Google review
It's a beautiful and unique location. On each side of the bridge there are things to enjoy like shops and restaurants. On one side is where you can place a lock for the expression of love. The bridge fully moves if a ship is passing and ferry's are available for transport from one side to the next. It's definitely a place to visit.

Handelskade is the postcard view of Curaçao—bright, colorful Dutch-style buildings lined up along the water. Legend says a governor blamed his headaches on all-white walls, sparking the rainbow colors (later found he owned a paint factory!). A must-see stroll by the harbor.

The Floating Market in Curacao is a vibrant and colorful part of the island's history, connecting it to nearby Venezuela. Traders from Venezuela arrive by small boats along the Waaigat Canal to sell fresh tropical fruits, vegetables, fish, spices, artwork, and gifts. The market is located in the Punda district of Willemstad and offers a picturesque setting with Dutch-inspired architecture and pastel-colored buildings.
Lots of great fresh fruits and vegetables! Loved haggling with the Venezuelan sellers. They are quite quick to get your attention but ask questions and be firm in highlighting what you want and don't want. Very decently priced! Found some of my favourite tropical fruits; Governor plums - sweet, juicy and as delicious as they've always been from my childhood. Also found some great bell peppers and avocados for our toast.
Brendon B — Google review
Must visit when in Curaçao!!!! The vibrant colors of the vegetables and fruits reminds me of my childhood in Guyana. So many options to choose from and to top it off, there are fresh fishes to choose from as well!!!
Nafeesa M — Google review
Experience the flavors of Curaçao at the floating market, where locals and Venezuelan vendors offer their fresh fruits, veggies and tropical vibes.
Repi N — Google review
Interesting spot. It’s not actually floating, the merchants come by boat and set up stalls along the road. Not huge but worth a visit. About half the vendors sell produce primarily to the locals (good prices, we did pick up a few things) and the other half have the same touristy souvenirs that all the shops have.
Kimberly K — Google review
It was a really nice experience! There were lots of people selling fresh fruits, many of them brought over from Venezuela to Curacao just for the market. I also saw plenty of women selling souvenirs and unique items for tourists. Definitely a great spot to visit and spend a little money while enjoying the local culture.

Visitors can enjoy a pleasant walk from the Mega Pier Terminal to the Renaissance Resort, passing through two famous connecting malls along the way.
Beautiful place in Willemstad, Curacao. The interior is filled with shops and restaurants. Lots of souvenir shops in and around the area. Great ocean views from the fort with beautiful palm trees around.
Savio D — Google review
Restaurants and shopping for visitors mostly as the cruise ships come here. Very busy during the times when ships are in location. If you are looking for food or souvenirs and don’t have time to explore this mall is the go to. Also nice for photos!
Kept L — Google review
Rif Fort and the island of Curaçao are truly a slice of paradise. Nestled in the heart of the Caribbean, this destination blends rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning coastal views into one unforgettable experience. We spent time touring the island, and every stop revealed something special, from the colorful Dutch colonial architecture in Willemstad to the charming shops and restaurants tucked within Rif Fort itself. The fort offers a perfect blend of history and modern flair, with beautiful views of the harbor and easy access to local attractions. But the real magic of Curaçao lies in its beaches. Crystal-clear waters, powdery sand, and an easygoing island vibe made every moment feel like a postcard. Whether you’re relaxing under a palm tree, snorkeling along coral reefs, or just soaking in the sun, the natural beauty is unreal. If you’re looking for a mix of culture, relaxation, and tropical scenery, Curaçao should be high on your list. We fell in love with the laid back energy and would return in a heartbeat.

Plenty to do and see and much of it for little to no cost. There is an arra on the top floor above the pancake restaurant with swings overlooking the bay that is nice for cooling off and relaxing while taking in the view. Seemed like nobody really knew it was there. Did some casnio gambling at wind creek, ate some pancakes, and got plenty of souvenirs. The multi level layout was neat and fun to explore while offering lots of shade.

Plenty of shops for knick knacks and souvenirs. Typical cruise port area. The fort architecture is interesting. Wish there was more documented history that was available as we did not see much of anything.

For a more thrilling adventure, there's the opportunity to feed sharks during the Animal Encounter.
I went a few years ago and loved it! It's small compared to other aquariums I've been to, but it's very pretty and offers the experience of having a dolphin kiss you on the cheek for a photo. I loved the experience; I love Curacao.
Kristy R — Google review
Beautiful sea aquarium with gorgeous views views of the Caribbean Sea. Lots of animals to see including a movie theater with an awesome show of snorkeling along the coastline of the island. My only suggestion is to invest more in the upkeep of the facility in particular the tanks that need cleaning and painting. The arrival are for the buses also need better landscaping to be kept up.
GQ T — Google review
The dolphins are amazing. And smart. We donate dolphin encounter. It was $114. So I guess not bad it was an hour and half. With about 20 minutes in the water with the dolphins. They have other things to see as well. Small aquarium but definitely something else to do if you need a break from the beach. Or if you have kids with you.
Azarria W — Google review
very beautiful concept integrated into the open sea, I think it doesn't cause trauma to the dolphins and sharks. It's nice to see these animals so close in their natural environment. I recommend it.
Levan N — Google review
The highlight of this aquarium is the dolphins' show. The pools are integrated to the sea so the dolphins look much better located than in other aquariums. The rest of the aquarium is very basic and has few exhibitions.

A beautiful aquarium, with wonderful staff and amazing animals to see. The setting is breathtaking. Even tho the aquarium is not the biggest, there is plenty to see and do there. I would definitly recommend to pay the sea aquarium a visit if you can!

Mikve Israel-Emanuel Synagogue, the oldest surviving synagogue in the Western Hemisphere, is a must-visit for those interested in exploring the unique history of Curacao. This historic site has been in regular operation since 1732 and offers tours, a Judaica museum, and a gift shop. Additionally, visitors can explore the Bleinheim and Beth Haim cemeteries to discover headstones that represent stories spanning Curacao's history.
very few people know of the jewish community in curaçao and even fewer know that it has been the first in the americas and the richest and most important until the mid 19th century. the synagogue is still active although the community is dwindling. the museum is small but very well organized and undeniably deeply cared for. definitely worth a visit.

Extraordinary and can’t miss in Curaçao 🇨🇼 It’s the oldest functioning synagogue in the Americas. It’s reform nowadays, very welcoming. Rabbi Hirsch is wonderful. Breathtaking beauty and you can’t help but get watery eyes after you understand the historical significance of this place.
Ami S — Google review
Beautiful synagogue, as many have already mentioned it’s the oldest in the western hemisphere that still functions today! It’s apparently a replica of the original in Amsterdam, complete with the sand floor. I didn’t come for shul (I’m observant/orthodox and this is reconstructionist — observant folks, go to Chabad!) but I did morning prayers here before going to the museum. Such a joy to daven within the same walls as thousands of our ancestors have for hundreds of years.

We are not Jewish but love historical buildings. This place is simply beautiful. The sand floors. The museum. The timeline of Curaçao’s history and how the Jewish community impacted it. It is an interesting synagogue. Unique to see how different groups practiced their faith.
BackpackingAndy — Google review
A visit to the oldest surviving synagogue in the Americas is an absolute must. The history of this synagogue is very interesting and is explained in detail through a timeline display. It also goes into some of the history of Curacao which I found very useful and informative. Next to the synagogue is the museum, which is considered to be a "living museum" meaning a lot of items on display are used for service or special ceremonies/events.
Heidi M — Google review
This is a great experience to know about Jews in Curacao and also in Latin America. You can visit the synagogue for up to a week if you keep the bracelet in good condition. Landhuis Chobolobo is a renowned Curaçao liqueur distillery housed in a historic 19th-century mansion. Situated on the eastern end of the Schottegat, this plantation is famous for producing Blue Curacao liquor using Valencia oranges found on its grounds. Visitors can partake in guided tours to delve into the plantation's history and learn about the production process of Blue Curacao.
We self guided ourselves cause tours were booked in the afternoon. But we loved it, had a potent cocktail and shopped while waiting for out cab. Totally worth the visit. All you need is an hour, or hour and half.

See and hear the origin and how Blue Curaçao is made. Experience the taste of the Curaçao liquor assortment, explore some cocktails and enjoy a workshops. Very nice for an afternoon.

While learning this history of the distillery was cool; I personally wouldn’t pay the $20-30 for the guided tour as the facility is so small it wouldn’t be worth it. I did the self guided tour and it took 5-10mins to read everything and get to the bar/gift shop area.

We came here by rental car. Parking is free and it’s closed to town. It’s a small place and if you walking by yourself, it’s free to do so. There is a small bar and store at the end near the exit. It’s good gift to bring home.

The directions here is misleading. The GPS stops you before the destination. The tour was okay, informative about Curacao liqueur. Couldn't hear Eli at times. The best part was the cocktail workshop. Calita was very nice.

Lovely tourguide that told us everything there is to know about the process of making the Blue Curaçao liqour. We also enjoyed the cocktail at the end of the 1 hour tour where we could taste the different kinds of liqour they make here. Very enjoyable experience!!

Hato Caves, located in the northern part of Curacao near the airport and cruise port, are a popular attraction offering guided tours through limestone formations that are around 300,000 years old. The cave system features impressive stalactites, stalagmites, a water pool, and ancient cave drawings. Visitors can also observe two rare bat species hanging from the cave's ceilings. The caves have historical significance as they were once used as hiding spots by escaped slaves.
Would definitely recommend you do this at the earliest part of the day that you can as the stairs are very steep to enter and the caves can get VERY hot and humid. There are quite a lot of fans throughout the cave but it still gets quite hot. Loved the experience and the tour guide was excellent.
Rajesh B — Google review
These caves are very close from the airport and they are very interesting and beautiful inside. They are not that big but still you can enjoy something unique. There are tours in English and Spanish. You cannot enter alone and you must go with a guide. They only let you take pictures at some specific points sadly. The entrance fee for tourists is $10.
Diego R — Google review
A decent cave to be guided through for the low price of $10. Warning: if you can't climb stairs, then stick to the flat carvings path and don't do the cave tour. To get to the cave you go up 50 or so steep steps. There are some interesting geological features inside and the guides will show you the bats that live there. The path to see the carvings is a nice walking trail. The area outside the caves is clean and well maintained. Lots of huge cacti to see and great spots for photo ops. The staff and friendly and helpful as well. Not a bad way to spend an hour or two if you have a long airport layover in Curaçao.

We visited Hato Caves while driving around the island. They have tours every half hour and were able to walk right into one. You climb several steps to get up to the caves. Tour was 45 min total. Very interesting inside. Grounds are beautiful. Guide was very knowledgeable. Fans running the caves to keep air flowing. Whenever I have the opportunity to explore a cave, I take it—and Hato Cave did not disappoint! The 30-minute guided tour offers a fascinating look into the island's interior landscape. The cave is well-lit throughout, making it easy to navigate and appreciate the features without worry. You’ll encounter stunning formations of stalagmites and stalactites that make the cave incredibly unique. Keep an eye out for the small bats that call this place home—you might spot them fluttering overhead or nestled in the darker corners. One thing to note: despite being in a cave you are not deep underground, so the cave is surprisingly warm, so don’t expect a cool escape from the heat. Overall, it’s a unique and worthwhile stop for anyone interested. Also, there are quite a few stairs to get up into the cave, so those with poor knees may want to pass.

Kokomo Beach in Curacao is a low-key sandy beach with turquoise waters, deck chairs, a dive center, and a restaurant. It's known for its charming rocky shoreline and iconic photo opportunities, including the famous Kokomo sign with swings hanging from palm trees. This beach offers a peaceful ambiance and stunning views of the Caribbean waters, making it perfect for couples. Just 15 minutes from the port, it's ideal for families and novice snorkelers.
Such a beautiful beach! It's small so it's best to get there right when it opens. The food is good, the snorkeling is fun and cheap. The waves were slightly rocky when I went but if you're a confident swimmer you'll be fine. Like all the beaches on the island make sure you have your water shoes! There was a pack of dogs in the parking lot. The alpha was slightly unnerving but they just seemed like they wanted food. I'd never seen dogs like that before. They were entertaining to watch. Overall I would definitely return, it's worth a visit!!

As others have mentioned. There aren’t many places to put your towel down and if you do purchase a chair, many of them have no shade. Photos are from early morning (9am) before the sun was completely out. The water is beautiful. Snorkeling was a little rough since the water is a little choppy which causes water to get inside your snorkel.
Jerica F — Google review
Good place to snorkel. There is some living coral in the rocky area with reef fish, a sandy area with sea turtles, and if you swim further out a ledge where you can see larger fish. The beach itself is small. You can't bring your own food or drink, and the chairs cost $9.
Michael W — Google review
Small beach, not many shade options. If you can't handle the sun then you'll have to go early to get some shade. A bit rocky but using the stairs to go into the water helped. Food options and service was great. We had chicken wings, passion fruit juice and passion fruit popsicles (all very tasty). Snorkeling was decent. The best part is that its close to the downtown area (20 minute drive).
Natasha R — Google review
This beach has entrance fees. I didn't mind paying for it. But when I entered, its very crowdy and chairs almost everywhere, you have to navigate your way if you want to go into beach. I would instead recommend Grote Knip which is way better beach and is free
Chandra — Google review
I would describe this place as an okay Beach but expensive. The only different thing they have is the singer with the name of the beach on it I didn't stay here for a long time and I left the place before they could charge me for the use of beach beads. If you want to visit I recommend you to get there early, around 9-10 am. If you plan to sneak food do it in your bags.

You can see flamingos along the way. Sun loungers cost $9 per day. I really liked the ocean and the many different fish.

Small beach, but well located, 20 minutes from Willemstad. It has all the necessary facilities to spend a day at the beach. You can snorkel on both sides of the beach. The Curacao Maritime History Museum offers a fascinating journey through over 500 years of the island's maritime history. Visitors can explore exhibits detailing the Dutch West India Co., the slave trade, and Willemstad's growth. The museum features a working model of the Steam for Oil refinery, showcasing its impact on the island's economy. Additionally, guests can enjoy guided tours of both the museum and harbor to gain a comprehensive understanding of Curacao's maritime heritage.
I loved the museum! The owners were incredibly warm and welcoming. The exhibits beautifully highlight Curaçao’s rich naval and maritime history, and you can tell the entire museum has been created with great care and passion. They even stamped my passport, something specially arranged through a government agency and available at only a handful of places, which made the visit even more memorable.
Jailene C — Google review
This is one of the few museums in Curacao but it is quite fun to visit. You start your journey with the discovery of the Caribbean and later the time of piracy. The maritime history of Curacao is explained and there are quite a lot historical artefacts and photographs. There are no guided tours, a walk around takes about 1-1.5 hours. The staff is very friendly. They normally offer a boat tour through the harbour but it is temporarily not available. They hope to start it again soon.
Sam H — Google review
If you're looking for a comprehensive exhibit this museum delivers! The displays are in multiple languages and impressively detailed with additional video descriptions on certain sections. The owners have done an incredible job restoring the building and creating the exhibits. Definitely worth a second trip!

Had a very nice visit to the maritime museum. The history was definitely about the island but also equally about the Dutch which makes sense but was unexpected. Most maritime museums on islands are about the island. I didn’t mind though. The artifacts are nicely preserved and everything explained in three languages. I learned a few new things and was happy it was also air conditioned. Definitely worth stopping by.
Adam R — Google review
Great museum, one of the best I’ve ever visited. It is privately owned and run with passion by the director and his wife. The director served three decades in the Dutch Navy, and you can feel his expertise in the meticulous reconstruction of explorers’ and conquistadors’ routes, as well as in the detailed displays of ships and vessels on the ground floor. His wife contributed by translating old German diaries, adding even more depth to the collection. The museum takes you on a journey through 500 years of Curaçao’s maritime heritage. Highlights include ancient canoes of the Arwak people, 17th-century ship models, nautical charts and maps dating back to the 1500s, exhibits on harbor development and shipbuilding, a detailed model of the Shell oil refinery, and interactive displays about the Dutch Navy’s role in the Caribbean. A standout piece is a massive bronze cannon recovered from the explosion of the Alphen frigate in 1778 — a rare artifact weighing over 1,600 pounds, decorated with dolphins, and linked to a tragedy that claimed more than 250 lives. A visit here is an absolute must if you want to understand Curaçao’s history and its deep connection with the sea, in the past, the present, and also a little in the future!
Giorgio F — Google review
I found this to be one of the highlights of my trip to Curacao. The amount of history and importance Curacao has played throughout history was very insightful and had no idea. The museum is small but it makes up for the amount of information it holds. If you can dedicate an hour or two, I think you will find this museum very interesting.

Hands down our favorite restaurant on our girls trip. The restaurant is beautiful and every one of the 10 women enjoyed their food!!! Service was great too. I had the Cuban banana soup and the vegan burger. wow! It was all so good. Didn’t expect to like the soup as much as I did. Highly recommend!
Shayna J — Google review
Wanted to get a light lunch in Curacao, and read about this restaurant, which is situated along the river looking across at the beautiful multicolored buildings, giving a definite Amsterdam vibe - hardly surprising given their ties to the Dutch. I would love to experience more of their menu on a future visit, but people had spoken glowingly of their Cuban banana soup, so decided to at least get some ice cold beers and try out the room temperature banana soup, as I was not super hungry. It was absolutely outstanding! Creamy, flavorful, with some great Caribbean spices complementing the puréed banana base. I have seen recipes for this type of soup in a chunkier variety, but I think the puréed version they served here is vastly superior with a better mouth feel. The weather was hot and humid, but still pleasant enough to sit on the patio, where there were fans to generate a breeze. The banana soup alone is reason enough to try this place out, but other items on the menu looked excellent as well.

Beautiful view from the balcony. We got to see the bridge open several times during dinner. Food was very good. We had the mushroom appetizer with goat cheese that was delicious. My husband had the mixed grill which he liked very much. I had the fish special corvina with a butter sauce that was very good. We made reservations a few days before to ensure we were seated on the balcony.

I had an excellent lunch at De Gouverneur today. The passion fruit juice with lime and mint was incredibly refreshing — one of the best drinks I had on the island. I ordered the keshi yena, which was fantastic and truly unique: a flavorful chicken stew baked inside what feels like a Curaçaoan cheese pot pie. Comforting, rich, and full of local character. The setting is hard to beat. The patio overlooks the water with a perfect view of the floating bridge, making it an ideal spot to relax, enjoy the breeze, and watch the city come to life. Great service, great food, and one of the most scenic lunch views in Willemstad. Highly recommend.

Excellent flavor. The texture of the food was perfect. The starters we tried we want to replicate at home. And I cannot spend the time to remake the smoked bbq brisket for which I am quite sad. Also allowing us to get a table without making a reservation (which I recommend doing) was a great kindness I am thankful for.

We had a wonderful dinner at Grand Café 'Gouverneur De Rouville'! The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, especially on the terrace, which was the perfect spot for a quiet evening meal. Our server, Rich, was incredibly kind and attentive. Not only did he offer great advice on the menu (the steak was cooked to absolute perfection), but he also shared local tips on some hidden gems around the island. Thanks to his recommendations, we ended up exploring some of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen during our holiday. This restaurant is truly a gem! Great food, relaxing ambiance, and outstanding service. Highly recommend for your next trip!

We dined at Gouverner de Rouville in Curacao last week and thhoroughly enjoyed our food! The Caribbean Shrimp were absolutely scrumptious- served chilled with mango, watermelon and casava chips. We had the Mixed Grill for a main dish and it was cooked to perfection! The curry sauce on the the chicken was my favorite. We also had the Fettucine- it wasn't as good as the other dishes but was decent. My only complaint about this restaurant was the service! There were at least 6-8 servers just standing around the bar talking and doing absolutely nothing, we had to constantly keep trying to get their attention when we were ready to order our food, or if we wanted to order a drink, if we wanted bread etc. Management should probably work on better customer service from the wait staff. But I'd go to this restaurant again because the food was so delicious!

It is a beautiful small beach full of bars and restaurants all along. There are many venues where you can choose from, to buy a snack or have a drink. There are a couple of swimming pools that belong to the Papagayo Hotel. You must pay for beds on the beach. The prices are a little high and I would say this is the Dutch beach.

I enjoy visiting this place from time to time for snorkeling, lounging, hiking, or dining. There are plenty of restaurant options available. Please note that there is a fee to access the beach for swimming or snorkeling. They also offer massage services and diving lessons. While it may not be the best spot for snorkeling on the island, it’s still a solid choice overall. Additionally, there are retail shops and gift shops on-site.

Crystal clear waters. Quiet atmosphere on most days (but Saturday’s have amazing live music). Variety of delicious food options—from pizza and chicken to ice cream and fine dining. What more could you ask for? Went here 3 times during my week in curacao. Found it better than other options (Mambo Beach, etc). Highly recommended

There was a small entrance fee per person. I feel like we may have missed the best part of the beach because we ended up sitting right outside the Zanzibar restaurant. There’s also a fee for chairs and a few palapa-style (palm-covered) shades available for rent. This beach had stairs leading into the ocean instead of a sandy shoreline. The water wasn’t as blue as some of the other beaches we visited, but it was still beautiful. There were a few restaurants on-site, and you could rent snorkeling gear if you wanted. Overall, it was okay — but definitely not as impressive as the other beaches we went to.

$3 per person entry fee, then we rented a day bed for about 35(?) that came with towels and a large water. We ordered other drinks and food. Service was decent. The water is calm. The knowledgeable staff provides multilingual tours and complimentary tastings of various flavored liquors such as orange, tamarind, and chocolate.
We recently had the pleasure of visiting the Curacoa Liqueur Distillery located in Willemstad and we were all very pleased with our experience. We weren’t able to purchase tickets for a personalized tour as they were sold out for the day, but we were able to do our own tour, which was also very enjoyable. There are a lot of displays that give a history of Curacoa and the distillery itself, along with videos that describe the history of the liqueur itself and the distillery, which are both very interesting and informative! There is also an opportunity to sample some of the liqueur outside at the bar and we had an amazing coffee drink which contained the chocolate liqueur and it was truly amazing! I would seriously return there just to have one of those drinks! There is also a gift shop that is full of unique gifts. Overall, we truly enjoyed visiting the distillery and I would highly recommend it to others visiting the area. Learning about the history of the culture and the distillery itself was so worthwhile! I would recommend purchasing tickets in advance if one wants a personalized tour. I think they do a lot of group tours from the cruise ships, so make sure to plan accordingly.

They treat them very very good i am glad I did it. The best aquarium i have ever been. JUST GO!! You won’t regret it. And the price it is very FAR almost cheap for all of what you get. Thanks for everything Dolphin Academy

We did the ABC cruise and I wanted my wife to get the opportunity to swim with dolphins. This is the only island that had this opportunity. Amazing place everyone is very friendly and will answer anything you ask. It's really cool they take the dolphins out of their lagoon to open sea often and listening to how they coordinate it. They actually have a YouTube video of them doing it. Definitely can tell they are well cared for and I cannot wait to visit again when we go back to the ABC's! Thank you again for such a memorable visit!

We did the Swimming with Dolphins encounter. Dolphins are really happy and friendly. You spend half hour with them in the water. Diving and swimming around with. The dolphins are allowed out in the open sea. Staff are friendly and really good to explain everything.

while in curacao, we were told to try this out. we were excited for the dolphin swim but cannot begin to explain how much it exceeded our expectations. we expected to float in the water with a bunch of other guests, with dolphins swimming around. it was so much more than that. we were split into smaller groups with each group having allocated dolphins. we spent the entire time directly with our assigned trainer and dolphins who instantly enable you to learn how to interact with the dolphins. we swam, dove and got to interact directly with the dolphins. I highly recommend at least book the swim! it was incredible, thank you again!!

A Magical Experience Swimming with Gentle Dolphins! Swimming with the sweet and gentle dolphins Annie and Rattina was truly an unforgettable experience! They were so playful and kind, and looking into their beautiful, curious eyes was pure magic. The staff made everything easy and enjoyable, and it felt amazing to connect so closely with these incredible animals. I would highly recommend this one-of-a-kind dolphin snorkel at the Curaçao Sea Aquarium — an absolute must-do while visiting the island! 🐬💙

The dolphin snorkel was amazing! We were a family of 4 (kids 12/14) and this was one of the most unique experiences we have done in all our travels. You really get to interact with the dolphins. You do have to tread water for 25 mins, and need to be able to free dive with the dolphins, but it was amazing! They take lots of photos that you can purchase at the end of the event. Julia was the trainer with us, and she answered all our questions and was obviously very bonded with the dolphins. 10/10 for this expierence!! You need to book in advance and give yourself plenty of time for driving and parking.

If you want a GREAT experience with dolphins then you have to go to the Dolphin Academy in Curacao. Noel and Junior are great trainers who are very knowledgeable about the dolphins. They will ask ALL of your questions. You will have such an amazing time and the best part is that pictures are taken during your experience.

Nestled in the heart of Willemstad, the Old Market is a vibrant and airy spot that captures the essence of Curaçaoan culture. With its rustic charm, picnic tables, and open kitchens, this market offers an authentic taste of local life. Visitors can indulge in a variety of classic dishes from numerous vendors while soaking up the lively atmosphere.
Double, tripled back! Hit Mama’s on the weekend and Eva’s during the week. Both are fantastic choices. Definitely recommend getting there before lunch rush to make sure all options are available. We ordered oxtail, goat, salt fish, & red snapper. Bonus, super affordable (paid with $USD)
Shelby F — Google review
Some of the best food we had in Curaçao. We had oxtail from 2 different stalls. Also tried stewed goat, saltfish, and the snapper. All with the Caribbean season rice with peas/lentils. Everything we had was delicious! I’d highly recommend this as a lunch stop. Note that it is SUPER hot in there. Some stalls have a long wait, but it is really worth it. Do not skip this place! Find street parking nearby.

Mixed feelings, we went there hoping for the local food hall vibe. However it is just a space with a lot of tables and some food stalls. It felt pretty dirty, the way the sellers were handling the food&money&cleaning utensils didn't give much trust in the hygiene.

The food here is awesome! They have vendors to choose from, and each of them has tasty delicacies. Nice portion sizes.

Restaurant
Situated on a hill overlooking Willemstad and its harbor, Fort Nassau is a historic fort transformed into a renowned restaurant offering a blend of European and Caribbean cuisine. The establishment boasts panoramic views, making it an ideal spot for a romantic dining experience or to catch the breathtaking sunset. Originally used as a lookout point in the 18th century, this National Monument now provides an elegant setting for fine dining within its restored walls.
My review @fortnassau 🇨🇼🌅✍🏻 💐 Service and Personal Touch 💐 The service at Fort Nassau was warm and professional, offering a smooth and pleasant dining experience. While it wasn’t especially distinctive overall, the thoughtful gesture of adorning our table with a beautiful centerpiece bouquet bearing the words I love you added a truly special touch that made our honeymoon celebration feel all the more personal. 🍽️ Culinary Experience 🍽️ We opted for the chef’s tasting menu, which commenced with a trio of appetizers: a beet salad, seafood soup, and tartare. Each dish was flavorful and well-executed. For the main courses, my husband enjoyed a meat dish accompanied by yucca potatoes that were both soft and crunchy, offering a delightful texture contrast. I selected the fish, which, while well-cooked, featured a combination of strong flavors that, in my opinion, didn’t harmonize as well as anticipated. Dessert was a trio of ice cream, carrot and orange jelly, and a small carrot cake, all of which were delicious and creative. In addition to the tasting menu, we ordered two appetizers from the à la carte selection: the black quinoa and spinach salad and the pan-fried scallops. Both dishes were amazing. 💰Value for Money 💰 Fort Nassau positions itself as a venue for special occasions rather than casual dining. While the prices reflect this, the combination of ambiance, service, and culinary quality justifies the expense, making it a worthwhile choice for celebratory events. I honestly thought it would be more pricey. 🏰 Additional Recommendations 🏰 Arriving early or lingering after sunset allows to explore the historic fort and fully appreciate the panoramic views. The opportunity to stroll around this historic site adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. 🌟 Overall Impression 🌟 Fort Nassau offers a memorable dining experience that seamlessly blends historical charm with culinary artistry. The unparalleled views, and thoughtfully prepared dishes make it a highly recommended destination for those seeking a special and romantic evening in Curaçao.

If you are in Caraçao, this is a place you must visit! We were there in May, which is considered an "off season", and did not have a reservation. We got there right at 6pm and we were able to get a table outside, along the wall. The views of the sunset are absolutely amazing! But that is not all to rave about with this restaurant. The food was delicious. Everything about Fort Nassau was incredible. From the stunning views to the service to the food, absolutely 💯 recommend this as a must!

Nice diner to celebrate our anniversary trip to the Dutch Caribbean. Nassau Fort is a lovely location with great views over Willemstad. Make sure you come just before sunset to enjoy a wonderful sun set. Diner is great with good options and choice of wines. Helped by Sjoeri we had a great evening.

The food was decent. Nothing to rave about. Presentation and plating was there but taste and flavors weren’t. Ambiance was dope. It has a historic castle feel and look. Really nice views and the entrance looks very mediaeval. If you live in the US and you’re a steak person beware of the fact that they don’t have great cuts of steak on the island and many steaks are simple described as “tenderloin”. Service was horribly slow and inattentive. But in fairness to them most island folks move slow. I

Literally and figuratively the highlight of our holiday in Curaçao. The lamb ribs and the salmon were both fantastic, and we were lucky to be served by the sweetest waitress who provided truly wonderful service. The views from Fort Nassau are absolutely breathtaking — a perfect backdrop for a memorable evening. Just be sure to book well in advance, as this is an experience you won’t want to miss.

This place was amazing! The servers were so nice and quick. The atmosphere was amazing. There are scenic views available as well.

My boyfriend and I chose to celebrate our anniversary at Fort Nassau but we quickly regretted this decision. Apart from the gorgeous views and the effort made to celebrate our anniversary with a sign at the table, everything else was lacking. The service was unprofessional overall. Our server was extremely grumpy towards us and we didn’t feel welcomed by her at all. There was an incident where she was pulling and scolding another waitress in front of customers. This was uncomfortable to witness. The food was subpar and we were extremely underwhelmed by the lack of flavours. I ordered the chef’s tasting menu expecting a refined, carefully curated dining experience. Instead, I was served a gigantic pot of mussels as the main. The flavour was totally overwhelmed by parsley. My boyfriend ordered the salmon which was dry and flavourless. The dessert of crème brûlée was decent. Wouldn’t recommend.

ABSOLUTE MUST! We eat here 3 times during our stay! Food and people that are working here are amazing! I have never tried better seafood in my life! Fresh, local daily catch and fun concept! This is a pearl on this island! Tuna is the best!

Probably top 5 shrimp plates I’ve ever eaten (and I’ve traveled to 30+ countries). Doesn’t even need a sauce, although I did add the spicy cocktail sauce. Which wasn’t very spicy (I’ve clearly acclimated to the spice levels in Texas). The shrimp was juicy and well seasoned. While I would’ve preferred the shrimp to be deshelled, it was easy enough to remove (and I’m sure it’s probably more cost effective to keep on). The Funchi fries were pretty much fried polenta. I did feel like it could’ve used an accompanying sauce since it had a milder flavor profile. Thankfully the spicy cocktail sauce (which is not like the traditional American red sauce) worked out well. I’m sure the garlic sauce would’ve also done the trick. Will definitely be back. Oh and the tamarind juice is so good with a blend of sweet and touch of sour!! 😋

Wow, this Oceanside spot was a gem…tons of locals come here. We came here for lunch before getting on the plane, and it was a great way to remember Curaçao by. We got there around 12:30 p.m. and waited about 20 mins before placing the order. Don’t be discouraged if you see the line, as it does move swiftly. We got a basket of fried shrimp and rare tuna (you get to pick your own, and it is priced per 100 grams) with some beer to share. The shrimp were lightly fried and very crunchy. The rare tuna was fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and prompt. Perfect spot for some casual Oceanside dining.

What a great time! The seafood was amazing, we had 3 types of fish, 2 baskets of shrimp, fries, and the tomato salad. It's a popular place, so they ran out of some of the options by the time we arrived at 7pm. The buckets of beer made a great pairing. The tomato salad was so tasty, great choice to add some veggies. Be prepared to get greasy from the butter on the shrimp. Can't wait to go again.

If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable culinary experience in Curacao, Tabooshh! is a must-visit destination. Nestled in Jan Thiel, this charming eatery offers a delightful array of Caribbean flavors while you soak in stunning views of the harbor from its inviting wooden deck. The menu features local favorites like hearty beef stew and coconut mango rum chicken, alongside unique vegan options such as banana soup and marinated chili jambalaya.
- CARIBBEAN STYLE MEALS WITH A TOUCH OF HISTORY, TRADITION AND CREATIVITY – Tabooshh! is a family run restaurant with an authentic and warm atmosphere located in one of the most delightful spots on the island, the Spanish Waters. It’s a bit hidden away, making it an intimate and calm space offering a nice view of the little marina, the yachts and boats. This place focuses on Caribbean cuisine, with the owner sharing family recipes passed down by two generations before him, but these old-style dishes are presented with a fresh and modern flair. Seating is available on the large with palapas covered terrace, or on the floating deck. The authentic and warm atmosphere paired with tasty food, friendly and casual service has made Tabooshh! a favorite amongst locals and boaters. The menu will surprise you with it’s variety, making it easy to find something for every taste while being consistently flavorful and fresh. This spot is worth taking the time for all three courses, so grab a starter like Mojito Shrimp or Sop’i Pampuna, or share some island tapas like Shampion den Knoflo or Rum Chica Rum. For mains you may have a hard time choosing, such as whether to go with the hearty Berehein Ku Kurie or Banana Stoba from the vegetarian menu (vegetarians and vegans are really well-looked after there). Meat-eaters will have it not easier picking between seafood, poultry and meat. You could go with Kabritu Stoba Ku Kurie or Keshi Yena Paradero. Everything on the menu comes well-presented in good portions serving with two sides of your choice, with a great flavorful profile, so you’ll want to come back to try something new. The dessert menu is not to be missed, featuring Bolo di Rom Berde or Kesio Malibu. From vibes to vibrant flavors and to value, everything seems to be all right at Tabooshh!. - @curacaobites

Super friendly, romantic atmosphere and very delicious food. The food and drink here are amazing. Tried stew oxtail, chili, ceviche, pumpkin soup, Margarita, and a special gin cocktail. All dishes were perfectly cooked and prepared. Service is slow but is as expected with the European. The live band played wonderful music and the amazing voices they got! Recommend this place. Really enjoyed our evening meal at Taboossh!

The service is very friendly and attentive, lovely interactions. The mixed platter tastes quite good. Unfortunately all the portions are tiny, and the value for the prices are really disappointing. I don’t normally care about portion size, as long as the quality is there, but this definitely stands out. The picture I posted is with the rice as an extra side plate.

Came here for a taste of the Caribbean & wow did I get it & more. Situated on the marina, the location could not be more perfect especially at sunset. The vibe is very relaxed with good music & even better cocktails. I started with the seviche with mango & the funchi fries both tasted amazing & the fish was fresh. For main I decided to go for the tabooshh platter as it gave me all the local delicacies on one plate, the portion was huge so make sure you come hungry here as you get incredible value for money. I have to give a big shout out to the owner Martin & supervisor Nishaila they made my stay super enjoyable.

This is a very nice romantic vibe. The ambient lighting for dinner made you feel so comfortable enjoying a meal here. The restaurant does have a floating platform with tables that you could enjoy your meal. And there's no music so that's a plus! No, on to the food. Ordered coconut shrimp as an appetizer. The shrimp was a good size. There wasn't that much batter and it wasn't greasy. For the main course, I ordered the taboosh platter. You'd want to order this if you want to try all the Kriyo food without just ordering one. It had stew beef that was stewed perfectly where the meat comes off so softly. It also came with two chicken dishes; one chicken dish was with cheese with olives. If you like olives, you would love this dish. The other dish was chicken stewed with coconut. I've never had a dish like this before so it would take a discerning pallet to enjoy it. The service here is commendable. They were attentive but not overbearing. The best part was the birthday celebration. If you go to most restaurants in the US, you know the service don't want to do the birthday song, but here there was so much enthusiasm and that was pleasant! So if you have someone in your party who has a birthday, bring them here. They will feel so special here

The absolute best dining experience from the welcoming staff like Jennifer, the gorgeous views the fantastic food. This place was pure heaven for us so much so that we ate here twice in 4 days. I have never sat for a 4 hour dinner and not once thought about how long I was there or can we go yet. But at Tabooshh, everything just melts away and you get caught up the islands relaxed feel and just enjoy wonderful food savoring every last bite. The owners Martin and Debbie were so nice stopping by several times. I love the hot sauce and Martin was kind enough to share how he makes it with me. We will be back on our next visit.

The Jewish Cultural Historical Museum, nestled next to the historic Mikve Israel-Emanuel Synagogue in Curacao, is a captivating destination that invites visitors to explore the rich tapestry of Jewish life on the island. Recently revamped, this museum presents an engaging timeline that connects Curacao's history with global events. Inside, you'll find a treasure trove of artifacts reflecting various aspects of Jewish migration and community life—from domestic items to spiritual relics—donated by local families.
Lovely museum and synagogue! There are no photos allowed in the museum itself, but they let me take a few of the shul itself, which I’ve included here. Make sure you don’t miss the museum, however! When you do go, be sure to read all the commentary on the artifacts and walls. The history of our community in Curaçao is just fascinating. Check out the videos too! It’s just so fascinating and fantastic to see this part of our heritage and feel the energy of thousands of our ancestors who have been coming to this magical place for literally hundreds of years. A Must-Do in Curaçao: The Newly Remodeled Jewish Museum Curaçao Whether you’re a local or visiting Curaçao, there’s a powerful, moving experience you shouldn’t miss, the newly expanded Curaçao Jewish Museum, located right next to the Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in continuous use in the Western Hemisphere. I visited the museum before its renovation… and wow, revisiting it now feels like stepping into an entirely new world of history, emotion, and reflection. The museum has grown, literally and figuratively, now spread across three immersive floors, each telling stories that resonate far beyond the island. I recommend to start on the third floor. Here you'll find the brand-new Anne Frank exhibit. I’ve read her diary before, but seeing it come to life like this, the visuals, the story of her family’s struggle in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam, it’s a different experience. It’s raw, emotional, and a reminder of how important it is to keep telling these stories. On the second floor, there’s a story that might surprise many, and that is the story of George Maduro. A Curaçao-born hero who fought during WWII in The Netherlands. His bravery, his betrayal, and his tragic end. You can see artifacts that belonged to George Maduro, letters, uniform and more. Once you see this exhibit, you will never forget it. On the first floor, you’ll find literature, artifacts, and historical items that tie it all together in the gift shop. Some great pieces connected to these new exhibits. The museum also highlights four local Curaçao youth, sharing and learning from their own experiences with bullying, exclusion and discrimination. It’s a powerful bridge between past and present. A reminder that injustice didn’t end with Anne Frank. It’s still around us today and so is resilience. What I loved most about the museum? You can walk through the exhibits at your own pace, and with the use of the digital tour guide, it makes everything even more engaging. The digital tour guide is available in multiple languages. The whole museum is air-conditioned too, which definitely helps while taking it all in. There’s an elevator (a little slow but super handy), and the team is still putting the final touches on some areas, but everything’s up and running. And yes, the original museum and the synagogue are still open to explore. Remember, the synagogue is a place of worship, please be respectful. I spent about two hours in the museum, honestly, I would do it again. It’s emotional, educational, and so beautifully done. This is not just a museum — it’s an experience. A 10/10 for me. The museum is open Monday through Friday, from 09:00 to 16:30. Last entry is at 15:30. Entrance for adults, 13+ is $18/Cg 32,50. Children 0-3 years are free and children between 4-12 is $9/Cg 16,-. Local Residents with I.D. Cg 5,- Add this visit to your Curaçao itinerary. You won’t regret it. #CuracaoJewishMuseum #CuracaoHistory #AnneFrankExhibit #GeorgeMaduro #CuracaoTravel #CulturalExperience #MuseumReview #MustDoInCuracao #CuracaoBreakawayVacation #HeritageMatters

Fort Beekenburg is a historic Dutch military stronghold dating back to 1703, strategically located near the Tugboat and Caracas Bay in Curacao. The fort was built to defend the Spanish Water and played a crucial role in repelling British forces and pirates. Its round tower, constructed with stone imported from the Netherlands, offers panoramic sea views. Visitors can explore its ramparts adorned with cannons while learning about its rich history.
It is a nice little forest on top of a rock formation on the water. There are some canons, ramparts, inner walls and a tower. You can walk up stairs to the first tower level and a latter to get to the top which gives you amazing views of the area. There is an oil rig and an oil drilling boat directly off the short close to the fort that are actively drilling. It takes away from the views on that side, however, we thought is was pretty neat to see those things up close. There is a small rock climbing area across the streets and a few picnic tables in the fort. It is not good for people with mobile problems as you need to go up steps with no railings to get in. The ground is rocky and uneven and there are stairs and a latter to get in the tower.
Wanderers B — Google review
It is a Nice place that is worth going and visiting. When I went there I only saw a couple of people and that was it. From here you have a nice view of Caracasbai or Tugboat beach. You may also see on photograph the oil platform.

If you love historical structures… a visit is a must. Several stairs to access the Fort with a ladder to get to the top. Free to enter. Several cannons still in place. What a captivating and unique place. Built over 300 years ago. We never could have expected to find such an interesting site out here. You can climb to the top of the fort and view the oil rig. We even saw an iguana chilling. Truly a contrast of two eras between the modern and ancient.
Arthur B — Google review
Enjoy the walk up from the beach to the fort's highest point. It is an excellent place to take pictures of the ocean and land. Spanish water is behind you as well.
Oscar A — Google review
It's a cool fort, well preserved, with nice views from the top. You can climb a little ladder to get right to the top. If you're nearby I'd check it out on your drive but wouldn't make a special trip for it.
Michael W — Google review
Free tourist place to visit. Beautiful intact stone fort. Be careful of all the stairs. Great historical fort you must see while here if you like those kinds of things. Lots of stairs at the beginning and also if you decide to climb up the fort. Amazing sunset view from here.

Gallery Alma Blou is the oldest and largest art gallery in Curacao, situated just outside Willemstad's historic center. The gallery showcases a diverse collection of local and regional artwork, including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, and dolls displayed throughout the estate. Housed in Landhuis Habaai, visitors can explore rotating exhibits featuring works by prominent local artists and even purchase artsy souvenirs from the on-site gift shop.
Interesting local pieces of art in a really nice setting. We also found beautiful, affordable local ceramics - glasses, mugs, bowls, plates in the gallery's shop.
Adriana C — Google review
Get a taste of Carribean art, often with the artists in attendance. Historical building provides a charming background to sculpture, paintings, pottery and photography by the some of the island's foremost artisans.
Heye B — Google review
Very upscale artgallery with local, Caribbean and international art, also prints and locally made folk art. Beautiful international jewellery store in the beautiful restored "Landhouse" which houses the Gallery Alma Blou

(Translated by Google) A warm and welcoming place, quiet and clean, something one expects from a hotel. The atmosphere presents a fusion between ancient and modern. The neighborhood has improved significantly. Some complementary amenities are missing, such as coffee. I really recommend it. (Translated by Google) Very nice to view the paintings. Definitely do it on occasion. Various paintings are on vacant, sometimes burnt-out buildings, which disguises the impoverishment of some streets. (Original) Heel mooi om de beschilderingen te bekijken. Zeker doen bij gelegenheid. Tugboat Beach, located in Caracas Bay on the island of Curacao, is renowned as one of the top snorkeling spots on the island. Despite its industrial surroundings, this beach is a must-visit due to its abundant marine life and the shipwreck resting beneath its waters. The bay is teeming with colorful reef fish and features an impressive array of sponges, coral, and sea fans.
Well worth it. The tanker was massive and fascinating. The sunken boat was so fun to see and swim to. The shore is very rocky and chairs cost for rental. But my family of 4 sat on a rock.
Jeremy B — Google review
Beautiful beach to snorkel at. There is a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs, snacks, drinks, and rent snorkeling gear. The owner was also very nice and explained what spots to go to snorkel at for best views, even though I didnt spend any money there and brought my own snorkel gear. The water is beautiful with tons of fishes, coral and of course the sunken tugboat. Great place to spend a morning or afternoon at. Tons of cute catd and dogs everywhere too
Sharon — Google review
Strange but rather beautiful place to sit. There is always something to see with the ship there and there is a beautiful sunken boat for snorkeling. They also feed the Iguanas from the bar so there are a lot of them around. Just watch out they don't bite your toe.
Didi — Google review
I don't know how much fun it could be to swim next to an oil platform but there it is this beach that is normally empty or with just a few people. You can go on your car and take food or drinks with you and you'll be all right. The road to get to this place is really in bad shape.
Diego R — Google review
A great place for snorkelling. If you need fun’s you can rent them there- a bit expensive for. 9 dollars a piece but much easier to swim with them . Chairs are 8 dollars . You can see lots of colourful fish and it truly is a great experience. Something that you really shouldn’t miss
Silvia K — Google review
This is a must go location. Fun for snorkeling and diving. The bar has cocktails, beer, and wine available. There are dogs and cats lounging around too! The staff are extremely friendly and informative! Shout out to Alexander ! I definitely recommend visiting this spot!

Worth the visit. Cute small place with a nice wood painting workshop, bar and snacks and great snorkeling with a ship wreck. Bring your water shoes.

Nestled just a short 10-minute stroll from the iconic Queen Emma Bridge, Marichi Pier is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. Tucked behind a parking lot in the Pietermaai district, this serene spot offers an escape from the bustling tourist areas of Punda. A mere 15-minute walk from downtown, it boasts stunning waters that are often frequented by locals, making it feel like a well-kept secret.
Amazing pier. You get to see the sunset. There's places to swim. Calm vibe overall. There's a construction site nearby so you'll obviously have some noise.
Ravindra R — Google review

When visiting Willemstad in the Caribbean, a must-visit spot is the AnnaBay Club Rum Store. Tucked away near the main shopping area on Handelskade, this traditional Curacao distillery offers high-quality products including Blue Curacao liqueurs and top-notch rum made with carefully selected ingredients and advanced equipment. Visitors can enjoy a delightful rum tasting experience hosted by friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Staff was friendly and pleasant. Free tasting. I am not a rum person but this tasted good and the store was cool. Bought two bottles that I will bring back home!
Martin H — Google review
This is an authentic product of Curaçao. The explanation and the tasting was well worth it. The difference in this rum is their process without added coloring, or inpurities. Try the 5 year aged rum. From shots to cocktails, this is your go to spirit in Curaçao.
Rudolf D — Google review
I had a ticket for yesterday but it was postponed until today without a notice but to me it could be forgiven for Curacao making the World Cup. They were willing to accomodate my early flight and they were excellent in giving me a lot of information. I tasted about 12 different rums and the quality and variety was unprecedented. I bought two mini sets and I will go back if I go to Curacao again.
Arif S — Google review
Ashira was amazing. I arrived early for what turned out to be a private tour and appreciated the hospitality. Ashira was knowledgeable and friendly. I was even treated to two additional rums not yet bottled. I would definitely recommend this tour. The staff made the experience enjoyable. I hope I can find bottles stateside. I made a rum cake with the lemon and it was delicious! Thanks again Ashira!
