The Queen Emma Bridge, affectionately known as the "Swinging Old Lady," is a remarkable pedestrian pontoon bridge that dates back to 1888. This iconic structure gracefully opens to allow ships to pass, making it a unique feature of Willemstad's waterfront. As you stroll across this floating marvel, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the vibrant cityscape adorned with colorful Dutch colonial buildings.
Beautiful pontoon bridge made of wooden planks for pedestrians in the heart of downtown Willemstad. The bridge makes way for ships and boats when they're crossing the bay. The best time to visit the beach is during the sunset as the bridge is lit up in colourful lights. You also get a great view of the colourful Victorian style buildings of Willemstad.
Savio D — Google review
Nice bridge to walk over. Its cool to see them open and close the bridge. Great views of town. Stop by during the day to see the beautiful colors of the buildings. Stop by at night to see the bridge and everything light up.
Sharon — Google review
The Queen Emma Bridge is such a fun experience! It swings open and closed to let boats pass, which is unique to watch. Just be mindful if you’re heading to a cruise or tour—sometimes it can stay open for up to half an hour, so plan ahead to avoid waiting.
Marta S — Google review
The Queen Emma Bridge is such a cool experience! The way it moves while you’re walking across feels so strange at first, but in the best way. The boats that hold it up are incredible to see up close—it’s truly one of a kind! At night, the bridge lights up beautifully, and the reflections on the water make it even more magical. Both sides of the harbor glow with color and energy. Definitely a must-see in Curaçao, both day and night!
S W — Google review
This is a working piece of history and a marvel of innovative solution to let large ships pass through. When lit at night, it's a beautiful view.
A J — Google review
This bridge is absolutely stunning. You can see both sides of willemstad. You can take beautiful pictures on this bridge. This bridge is also a moving bridge. On the other side of this bridge, definitely go check out the smoothie truck. This woman makes the best smoothies i ever had.
Diamondprincess3232 — Google review
It is a curious and nice experience to look at the bridge and see it while it opens, because some ships are coming through. It is a mandatory place to visit when you are downtown and you can take pictures of the colorful buildings from the other side (Otro anda). Obviously you must visit Otrobanda too and check out the colorful and nice commerce strip with a variety of shops. There are nice restaurants, bars and museums to check out.
Diego R — Google review
Absolutely beautiful waterfront. Plenty of shopping and food options. A must see.

Beach
Nature & Parks
Mambo Beach, also known as Seaquarium Beach, is a bustling and popular destination located east of Willemstad. The beach offers white sands, clear blue waters, and a variety of amenities such as shops and a swimming area. Visitors can relax on the sun-kissed shores or explore nearby Playa Piskado for an unforgettable snorkeling experience with sea turtles.
Mambo beach is very relaxing, even though it is extremely busy. We had a really nice spot, close to the water. Staff from the restaurant takes orders where you sit on the beach, so you can relax and enjoy a cocktail. Swimming was nice and great to cool off from a very hot day. I really enjoyed Mambo beach.
Celest V — Google review
Mambo Beach is basically a boardwalk near a few resorts. The food at the restaurants on the ‘boardwalk’ is fair, not great. Though the service at each one we tried is good. The beach bars are fun, service is good. Rent beach chairs if you aren’t staying at one of the resorts… The beach is chill and fairly fun. We preferred the beach segment near Lionsdive, near the Hemingway… as you could see a nice assortment of fish while snorkeling. It was fun… Parking for Mambo seems straightforward, though we stayed at one of the resorts, so we didn’t need it. Its worth checking out. There is also a camera you can see the conditions of the beach from anywhere in the world, which is cute. It’s a family-friendly beach.
Jennida C — Google review
It is the closest beach to downtown Willemstad and that's why it is probably the most popular Also, this is the beach where the tourists from the cruises are taken so I do not recommend you to go those days. It is full of restaurants and bars and it has a rock wall that protects the shore. The beach is full of beds and other kinds of accommodations but you have to pay for them. The prices are not cheap but the place is very pretty.
Diego R — Google review
Cozy beach, perfect for families with kids as it’s not wavy. The water is clean and warm enough Chairs are $12-15 each. There’s a bar, restaurant
Roland V — Google review
Place to enjoy restaurant on a beach and crowded beach basically more people than beach area on a busy day like weekends. In general it’s a very active place, but, if you like this type of places this it’s your spot.
William H — Google review
The clearest water I have ever seen in my life. Everything is well kept and there are multiple food options. There is a no outside food policy which absolutely sucks. But other than that, it's a great beach.
Chris — Google review
Don‘t miss a visit to the famous Mambo beach, where you can swim in crystal-clear water and unwind on a picture-perfect shore.
Repi N — Google review
By far my favorite beach! The beach is a bit crowded sometimes (this shouldn’t be a problem as the beach is large) but very clean and the sand is soft as it’s not rocky nor full of shells/hard corals. Enjoy the view with the sunset and the beautiful restaurants nearby. The parking is for free and feel free to use the chairs at the beach free of charge.

Resort hotel
The Avila Beach Hotel is a charming beachfront property in Curacao, offering airy accommodations with some rooms boasting stunning sea views. Situated on a quiet lagoon, the hotel provides easy access to historical landmarks such as the Jewish Cultural Historical Museum and Mikve Israel-Emanuel Synagogue. The 1780-built hotel features 143 rooms with oceanfront balconies and elegant amenities. Guests can enjoy dining at five restaurants, including the popular Beach Bar designed like a wooden schooner.
Repeat visit! Great location. Amazing beach and wonderful ocean. Snorkeling was easy right from the beach and had a better selection of fish then some of the more popular “snorkeling beaches”. Rooms in the Octagon were modern and spacious and the ocean views are worth the upgrade. Restaurants were good. Much better than most hotel fare. Has an easily accessible Budget car rental right in the hotel! Concierge and wait staff were great and very hospitable! Only negative was the 3rd party airport shuttle service! Simply awful and rude and time wasting! Never use them. Pay$ if you have to, but avoid them. I believe they were “curacao-actief”
Alexander G — Google review
Avila was perfect, the grounds are beautiful. The rooms are small and lacking storage however, the beds and pillows are great. The beaches are so relaxing and calm. Everything was clean. The services was great. The sunscreen provided by the hotel was nice, it was not refilled at times. The area is up and coming, a few restaurants close by. Overall, we had a great experience and I would most definitely recommend staying here.
Bianca S — Google review
Lovely hotel 15min walk from downtown. Hotel has two private beaches, lots of sunbeds. Big swimmingpool if you prefer that. Breakfast buffee can be ordered im advance or you can buy the days you want. Great gym. Really friendly staff. QR code at the sunbeds so you can order food/drinks directly to the beach. Rooms with fridge and good air-con, no chromecast on tv
Tarjei H — Google review
My husband and I stayed at Avila Beach Hotel for 7 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The beach was lovely, with two lagoons full of fish to observe, and the staff were attentive and polite. I’d definitely recommend adding a breakfast package to your stay—the selection and quality were very good, and the omelette station let you order eggs just the way you like them. However, I’m glad we didn’t add dinners. While there’s more variety if you eat meat, as a pescatarian I found the options limited, and for vegetarians the selection and value for the price were not great. That said, I’d highly recommend the BBQ night at the Pen restaurant—it was excellent. A few things to keep in mind: this is more of a European-style resort, so be prepared to encounter people smoking on the beach. Smoking is also allowed on the balconies of some wings. During the first half of our stay we were lucky, but for the rest of the week our mornings and evenings on the balcony were less pleasant because of that unpleasant smell. Overall, we were happy with our choice of a hotel and would definitely stay again (but next time - in a non-smoking part :) ).
Inna P — Google review
We LOVED this hotel it was beautiful, clean, and had the most helpful staff we have even encountered. Special shout-out to Kevin whose omlets alone were worth the flight. We will be returning again within the year. This is our new favorite destination. The hotel is family friendly but the adults only rooms are nothing short of incredible. The views are perfect for anyone going for the Instagram worthy shot.

Thank you, Felicia! Your kindness, warm smile, and care for our room (and for us!) made all the difference. You were always helpful and attentive and truly made us feel at home. You're a gem. We had a wonderful stay at the Avila for our honeymoon. We stayed in the Oceanfront Blues room, which had a beautiful view of the ocean off the balcony. The beaches were beautiful and the snorkeling was just as good as anywhere else on the island. The beach bar will deliver food and drinks right to your chair for reasonable prices. The beach loungers were plentiful and free to use with lots of shade. Everyone we encountered was friendly, polite, and helpful. Our only complaint is that the housekeeping service could have been better. Our room was often not cleaned until very late in the afternoon, and one day was not cleaned at all. The cleaning could have been a bit more thorough, especially since the shower is open on one side and has a tendency to get water all over the bathroom. But overall, I was very happy with our stay and would stay again.
Lauren E — Google review
The Avila Beach Hotel provided our family with a truly memorable and fantastic stay. Our Beachfront 2-Bedroom Apartment was the ideal home base, offering a clean and spacious environment right on the ocean. The ground-level accessibility was a huge plus, making it incredibly easy for everyone to get around and enjoy direct access to the beautiful private beach. It was a joy to wake up to the sound of the waves and have the kids run right out to the sand. The historic resort grounds are beautiful and well-maintained, creating a peaceful and charming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. It's the perfect place for a relaxing family vacation, with calm, protected beaches that are great for swimming and snorkeling. While our stay was wonderful, there are a few areas we feel could be improved to make the experience even better. We found that the resort's food and drink options were limited and quite expensive. Having more variety and more casual, affordable dining choices would have been appreciated, especially with a family. Additionally, we would love to see a more comprehensive all-inclusive option. This would provide more value and convenience, allowing guests to fully relax without constantly worrying about the cost of every meal and beverage. Overall, the Avila Beach Hotel is a fantastic choice for a family getaway in Curaçao, offering a beautiful setting and a comfortable, clean stay. With a few adjustments to their dining and all-inclusive packages, it would be an absolutely perfect destination.

Located in the heart of Willemstad overlooking the Annabaai, Grand Café 'Gouverneur De Rouville' is housed in a beautifully restored 18th-century building with stunning views of the water and colorful houses. This charming establishment offers a variety of experiences including lunch, dinner, business meetings, wine tastings, and late-night entertainment at the Motown Soul Bar. The menu features delightful options such as fresh goat cheese salad and flavorful catch of the day.
Absolutely loved my dinner here! Fantastic tenderloin and even better shrimp fettuccine! Loved the Caesar Salad as well. Beautiful view of the harbour and dutch buildings. Dined at 6PM so no wait for table.

Hands down our favorite restaurant on our girls trip. The restaurant is beautiful and every one of the 10 women enjoyed their food!!! Service was great too. I had the Cuban banana soup and the vegan burger. wow! It was all so good. Didn’t expect to like the soup as much as I did. Highly recommend!
Shayna J — Google review
Wanted to get a light lunch in Curacao, and read about this restaurant, which is situated along the river looking across at the beautiful multicolored buildings, giving a definite Amsterdam vibe - hardly surprising given their ties to the Dutch. I would love to experience more of their menu on a future visit, but people had spoken glowingly of their Cuban banana soup, so decided to at least get some ice cold beers and try out the room temperature banana soup, as I was not super hungry. It was absolutely outstanding! Creamy, flavorful, with some great Caribbean spices complementing the puréed banana base. I have seen recipes for this type of soup in a chunkier variety, but I think the puréed version they served here is vastly superior with a better mouth feel. The weather was hot and humid, but still pleasant enough to sit on the patio, where there were fans to generate a breeze. The banana soup alone is reason enough to try this place out, but other items on the menu looked excellent as well.
Scott S — Google review
Beautiful view from the balcony. We got to see the bridge open several times during dinner. Food was very good. We had the mushroom appetizer with goat cheese that was delicious. My husband had the mixed grill which he liked very much. I had the fish special corvina with a butter sauce that was very good. We made reservations a few days before to ensure we were seated on the balcony.
Dee F — Google review
Excellent flavor. The texture of the food was perfect. The starters we tried we want to replicate at home. And I cannot spend the time to remake the smoked bbq brisket for which I am quite sad. Also allowing us to get a table without making a reservation (which I recommend doing) was a great kindness I am thankful for.

We had a wonderful dinner at Grand Café 'Gouverneur De Rouville'! The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, especially on the terrace, which was the perfect spot for a quiet evening meal. Our server, Rich, was incredibly kind and attentive. Not only did he offer great advice on the menu (the steak was cooked to absolute perfection), but he also shared local tips on some hidden gems around the island. Thanks to his recommendations, we ended up exploring some of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen during our holiday. This restaurant is truly a gem! Great food, relaxing ambiance, and outstanding service. Highly recommend for your next trip!
Hailey M — Google review
We dined at Gouverner de Rouville in Curacao last week and thhoroughly enjoyed our food! The Caribbean Shrimp were absolutely scrumptious- served chilled with mango, watermelon and casava chips. We had the Mixed Grill for a main dish and it was cooked to perfection! The curry sauce on the the chicken was my favorite. We also had the Fettucine- it wasn't as good as the other dishes but was decent. My only complaint about this restaurant was the service! There were at least 6-8 servers just standing around the bar talking and doing absolutely nothing, we had to constantly keep trying to get their attention when we were ready to order our food, or if we wanted to order a drink, if we wanted bread etc. Management should probably work on better customer service from the wait staff. But I'd go to this restaurant again because the food was so delicious!

Cafe Gouverneur de Rouville is truly one of Curaçao’s gems! Every visit here is a wonderful dining experience — the perfect blend of atmosphere, flavor, and island charm. Whether you choose to sit in the open-air patio or on the front upper porch, you’re treated to a stunning view of the iconic Emma Bridge and the colorful buildings of Punda. It’s a view that never gets old. The menu is full of delicious options, and the food never disappoints. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely bursting with flavor. From appetizers to main courses, everything feels exquisite — and yes, always save room for dessert! The sweet treats here are the perfect finish to an already marvelous meal. What makes Gouverneur stand out even more is how consistently excellent it is. It has become one of my personal favorites every time I visit Curaçao. Warm, welcoming, and unforgettable — highly recommended! 🌅🍽️💛

BijBlauw, located in Willemstad, Curacao, opened its doors in December 2013. This hidden gem by the ocean boasts a cosmopolitan design and offers nine rooms and one apartment. The on-site restaurant serves locally sourced dishes like tuna in lime risotto and refreshing drinks. Additionally, the BijBlauw Concept Store features local and Dutch-made interior design items, fashion pieces, and colorful accessories.
Came here for dinner with a view and I must say it was an excellent choice! The view is spectacularly beautiful at sunset. The food and drinks were deliciously tasteful for somewhat of a reasonable price.

We made reservation for dinner. Parking is a little tricky as the street parking gets busy as there are other resteraunt. The entrance of the resteraunt is between the two buildings. We got seated beside the sea side. Make sure you book a time when sunset. Server is polite and friendly. Food is amazing and we tried a few entree. Daily catch is sea bass and it’s very good. We tried the tenderloin and it was cooked perfect. Somehow the temperature is not hot enough in the center. Truffle risotto is also good. Overall, price is reasonable and portion is decent.
Alan N — Google review
The hotel is undeniably lovely and seaside but that doesn't change what happened. While staff may downplay or deflect, the experience was real. If you're considering staying here, take this as a serious warning... I chose BijBlauw for a peaceful solo vacation. A boutique property, with a sea side location. But on the first night, I woke up around 1am to find my room door wide open. I absolutely locked it before bed. I had also heard movement beforehand that sounded like someone trying to get in. (The noise of someone trying to get into the room woke me up abruptly. It wasn't subtle or vague.) The door at this hotel is heavy and doesn't open easily by accident, so this felt like an attempted entry. I reported the issue immediately and asked for: • Security footage review (12-1:30am, Room 4) • A safety plan for the rest of my stay • A partial refund due to the breach The hotel responded promptly at first, but ultimately claimed: - No one was seen on the camera (though they refused to share the footage) - Their night guard saw nothing - The door likely wasn't closed properly (it was) I checked in twice before going to bed (I am traveling alone) - They could not offer a refund While they insisted there was "no indication" of a threat, the simple fact remains: I woke up to an open door while traveling alone, after hearing clear tampering sounds, and no one could explain why. There was no on-site security presence I could speak to, no functioning front desk at that hour - they leave at 8pm, and no accountability from management beyond polite deflection. This wasn't about discomfort or inconvenience it was about safety. I left early, shaken and very disappointed. At the end of the day, you should have no issue sharing footage, if nothing concerning occurred. Transparency builds trust especially when a guest feels unsafe. Refusing to share it only deepens the sense that something is being concealed or minimized. If you're traveling solo or care about clear security protocols, I would advise caution. I hope this serves as a warning for anyone considering a visit to BijBlauw Boutique Hotel in Willemstad Curacao.

We were promptly greeted and seated. Views are amazing and I think this the reason people give the 4.9 star reviews because it is not the food. My wife asked for a side of herbal butter. They never brought it with the meal and she literally had to get up and find someone. They never returned to fill our drinks, water or anything. She had to get up a second time to find them and ask for a check. Then it took another 20 minutes for the lady to bring the bill. There may have been 4 other couples in the restaurant so 0 stars for customers service and 0 stars for quality of food. Do yourself a favor and find another restaurant with a view!
Shane — Google review
We visited BijBlauw for both dinner and breakfast, and while dinner was decent, I didn’t love it as much as I’d hoped. The service was a tad slow but nothing too bad. The location and ocean views are absolutely top notch though.. especially during the day. Breakfast the next morning completely won me over. The smoothie special was so fresh and delicious, easily my favorite part. I’d definitely return for breakfast again, but I’d probably skip dinner unless they revamp the menu. Either way, it’s worth a visit for the setting alone. This review is solely based on the restaurant as we did not stay at BijBlauw.

Steak for 2 was very good, you may want to tell them one step up on your done-ness. Ordered medium, and it came back medium rare but I don’t mind! Very nice calm spot for a meal. Will be back for breakfast!

Hands down the best truffle risotto I’ve had in my life! So creamy and flavourful, every bite was heavenly. Highly recommended!!
Mauro P — Google review
(Restaurant only) The prices here are ridiculously high for some storebought food. The main dinners came in intervals of a couple minutes and half were lukewarm. They overcook the meat more than what you ask for and are prickly when you mention it. Just to give you an example of the prices they ask for (probably due to the nice scenic location); a 33cl bottle of Coca Cola is $7. A cocktail is about $20+ and comes with icecubes filled to the bottom. The most ridiculous part of it all was that they sell wine bottles for $100-$120, even though these exact same wine bottles go for no more than $15 in a supermarket. Absolutely would not recommend coming here for food unless you want to waste a ton of money for a price of which you can eat 2 full days. Rather go to an authentic Antilian place if you're looking for some good food.

Nestled in Pietermaai, Baoase Luxury Resort is a Balinese-inspired boutique hotel offering 23 luxurious rooms and suites, along with five villas encircling a saltwater infinity pool. The resort's emphasis on relaxation is evident through its no photos policy, allowing guests to discreetly savor the bungalows set around a private lagoon.
We just returned from a 9-day stay at this lovely resort. The staff went out of their way to accommodate any requests we made. The food was delicious. Our Tropical Pool Villa was amazing - we could swim right from the patio and often did. There are lots of cabanas and chaise lounges by the protected lagoon area. The weather was glorious. We would definitely recommend this place for a wonderful, relaxing time.

A World-Class Culinary Experience in Paradise Dining at Baoase Luxury Resort Restaurant was truly one of the most memorable meals we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of quiet elegance — the beachfront setting is absolutely breathtaking, and the service is as polished as it is warm. The menu is a perfect blend of refined technique and bold, global flavors. Every dish was beautifully plated and bursting with freshness. You can tell the chefs take immense pride in their craft — the attention to detail and balance in each bite was outstanding. LAnd the staff? Impeccable — knowledgeable, kind, and intuitive without being intrusive. Whether you're staying at the resort or visiting Curaçao, this restaurant is a must. It’s not just a meal — it’s an experience that lingers long after the last bite. Pure luxury, unforgettable flavors, and a setting that feels like something out of a dream. Worth every penny.

110% coming back. Everyone is amazing, the food is great, the rooms are beautiful, the beach is awesome, everything is perfect for me and my wife on our honeymoon. The staff here is by far my favorite. Not only are they amazing but they have answered all of my questions and have booked everything I’ve asked them too and look into things I’ve wanted to do outside of the resort. They truly have made my trip amazing. They have been such a blessing. 110% recommend Boase as you hotel and resort of choice.

We had a fantastic time at the Baoase Luxury Resort. Everything about this place is 5 stars. The resort is just beautiful. We've traveled all over the Caribbean and saw more natural wildlife here than anywhere else. The food was delicious. If you're on property don't miss the seafood and BBQ nights. The staff was incredible. We had private tours with Ivor and Carlos who made us feel like family. This place is perfect for honeymooners or families with kids. We would happily return in the years to come. Thanks Baoase for a truly memorable vacation!

The resort is absolutely gorgeous and the staff are excellent. They truly strive to provide 5-star service. It's a great destination for a relaxing romantic getaway. That said, the staff are young and don't always pick up on expectations right away. If there's something specific you want, be sure to ask directly, and don't hesitate to have them ask their supervisor. They often aren't aware of how much flexibility they have. I gave the location 4 stars as there's really nothing else around other than the resort.

Staff was kind and super accommodating I had reserved cabana with 4 course meal, everything was to die for 10/10 our waitress was a wonderful Jamaican lady who made sure my birthday night was amazing she met all our needs thanks so much

As soon as I enter the resort, the gates opened for me and my wife to enter. We were greeted and welcomed with wet cool towels by the dedicated team who will be assisting with our week long stay. Mio, Eve, Pablo, Karen, Indy, Shanaielle, Jorrit, Lawrence, Sharliandra, and all others I regrettably could not name here who interacted with me (Nelson) and my fiancée Mimi were of THE UPMOST QUALIFIED individuals we’ve ever met. Don’t even get me started on the FOOD QUALITY 11/10. Please register for the food packages they offer during your stay, you won’t regret it. Baoase offers a piece of heaven and paradise through its clean beaches (Bida being the newest), and thorough smooth service. I will come back here pretty soon, I reckon. I don’t think I will NOT come back. The WhatsApp messaging service response time could use improvement (faster response), but to be honest that’s the only thing I could nitpick. The private pool villa was just surreal and I felt like royalty being at Baoase. Unforgettable, and sad that this experience is over. 5/5 stars for Rooms, Service, and Location. Great job, guys.

Villa Tokara Boutique Hotel is a vibrant and charming guesthouse located in the heart of Willemstad. The colorful exteriors and interiors create a picturesque setting, perfect for capturing vacation memories. With a small number of rooms, the hotel offers a relaxed atmosphere and personalized service from the friendly staff. Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool area with sun beds and have breakfast served poolside upon request.
Absolutely loved our one week stay here! We stayed in the pink room and we had such a lovely time. The hotel is small, intimate and exactly what we were looking for. Within 10 minutes walking you are in the centre of town. There are great restaurants within a five minute walk. Having a car is a must on this island as all the beautiful beaches are to the north about 45 minutes away. The property itself was clean and comfortable. There is an adorable cat named Gourdo who lives on the property and is just about the cutest guy you’ve ever seen! He will be your best friend if you let him! Lots of times we would let him in the room to hang out with us and he was so happy. We can’t rave enough about this place. The only thing I would suggest for improvements are to upgrade the pillows (I found them too soft for me personally), add some antibacterial soap to the bathroom, and invest in some nice fluffy towels. Other than that, five stars all around! *** also be aware that there is no bathroom door in the pink room. So if you are comfortable doing your business in front of your partner, that’s great, but we found it a bit awkward!

What a wonderful stay at a wonderful property, full of charm. I always carefully select my hotels and was quite glad about my correct choice. The location is fabulous - surrounded by nice restaurants, within walkable distance to the center - and very quiet. I love the personal attitude and I receive it here. Highly recommended!

Villa Tokara is a beautiful place to stay! The hosts were so lovely and welcoming and the room nicely decorated and spacious. We loved the balcony, the pool and the great restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend it!

A fabulous place with the kindest owners and most wonderful eclectic décor! We stayed at Villa Tokara for a few days and our verdict is - if you are looking for a place with a character and whimsical charm where the owners truly care about you having a great experience - Villa Tokara is your place. From the colorful lobby, to the relaxing pool and garden, from the charming rooms to the kindness and care of the owners, we had the perfect experience! The room we had was off the main floor and had all the amenities you can ask for - spacious interior and shower, double sink, plenty of towels, comfortable bed, tons of storage space and a coffee machine to start your day plus a safe and iron/ironboard on request. The location of the villa is also great - for a beach access we booked the Avila day beach pass right next door. The Pietermaai district where the villa is located is 15 minutes walking distance to Downtown and there were so many fabulous restaurants and cafes nearby. We felt very safe walking around. The grounds of the villa were the perfect space to relax and recharge - in the morning I loved sitting outside on the patio chairs drinking my coffee and enjoying the company of the resident cat Guordo. In the event after a full day, dipping in the pool capped the evening perfectly. The owners are the kindest of people - they were always making sure we were comfortable with everything and patiently answered all of our questions. We couldn’t have asked for more. Overall, we absolutely loved the charm and character of the property and had a great relaxing time. We will return for sure to stay here when we are next time on the island.

Our stay at Villa Tokara was amazing. Anissa, the host, was welcoming and very helpful. We love the place so much that we returned for an unplanned second stay during our holiday in Curacao. The villa and the rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable and the breakfast are fantastic.

We had such a special stay here! The accommodations are so beautiful and comfy. We loved the non-commercial feel and warmth of the place and staff. I know they just recently took over ownership but from a guest perspective, the transfer has been seamless. They were so accommodating, especially for a group with a baby and the various [unexpected] needs that come with that. The location can’t be beat and is very walkable to good food and the beach. I’m sure some updates are coming to this older building but even if they weren’t, it’s so stunning, authentic, and cozy as it is. We loved our stay and very much hope to come back!

We had a wonderful 11 night stay at charming Villa Tokara. Our room was spacious and felt homey. The pool and outdoor space is just a beautiful, especially at night. The owners were helpful but still gave us privacy. We skipped breakfast as it was a little too pricy for us and we would advise them to fix the shower temperature issue in our room (i.e. either very hot or very cold) that we flagged on day 2. We would definitely recommend booking there for a quite, safe but still centrally located stay in Willemstad.
Stephanie L — Google review
What a charming boutique hotel. It was tranquil, clean, safe, and comfortable. Our room was very spacious and had all the amenities we needed. Conveniently located by some really great restaurants, a bus stop right across the street, and a short walk to the city center. Appreciated having a pool in their large courtyard - we jumped into the pool at the end of every day! Stefano went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable. He gave us recs for restaurants, bars, and dive shops right after we checked in. Curacao can be tricky to get around if you don't rent a car, and when we couldn't get a taxi at night, he picked us up! Highly recommend staying here for a peaceful vacation.

The Curaçao Sea Aquarium is a must-visit family-friendly attraction offering live shows with dolphins and sea lions, as well as interactive experiences with sharks and stingrays. Visitors can opt for the Ocean Lens experience to observe the island's marine life without getting wet or engage in the Sea Lion Encounter for an adorable interaction. For a more thrilling adventure, there's the opportunity to feed sharks during the Animal Encounter.
I went a few years ago and loved it! It's small compared to other aquariums I've been to, but it's very pretty and offers the experience of having a dolphin kiss you on the cheek for a photo. I loved the experience; I love Curacao.
Kristy R — Google review
Beautiful sea aquarium with gorgeous views views of the Caribbean Sea. Lots of animals to see including a movie theater with an awesome show of snorkeling along the coastline of the island. My only suggestion is to invest more in the upkeep of the facility in particular the tanks that need cleaning and painting. The arrival are for the buses also need better landscaping to be kept up.
GQ T — Google review
The dolphins are amazing. And smart. We donate dolphin encounter. It was $114. So I guess not bad it was an hour and half. With about 20 minutes in the water with the dolphins. They have other things to see as well. Small aquarium but definitely something else to do if you need a break from the beach. Or if you have kids with you.
Azarria W — Google review
The highlight of this aquarium is the dolphins' show. The pools are integrated to the sea so the dolphins look much better located than in other aquariums. The rest of the aquarium is very basic and has few exhibitions.

Caverns & Caves
Hato Caves, located in the northern part of Curacao near the airport and cruise port, are a popular attraction offering guided tours through limestone formations that are around 300,000 years old. The cave system features impressive stalactites, stalagmites, a water pool, and ancient cave drawings. Visitors can also observe two rare bat species hanging from the cave's ceilings. The caves have historical significance as they were once used as hiding spots by escaped slaves.
If you enjoy the beauty of nature and have a sense of adventure, Hato Caves is a great destination. There was a short wait and a bit of a climb, but it's well worth it. The guide we had was knowledgeable and while their primary role is to keep things moving and keep people safe, their presence was worthwhile. The caves themselves were spectacular. Because they are so large and well lit, I didn't experience claustrophobia the way I had previously in some smaller caves. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Dylan G — Google review
Would definitely recommend you do this at the earliest part of the day that you can as the stairs are very steep to enter and the caves can get VERY hot and humid. There are quite a lot of fans throughout the cave but it still gets quite hot. Loved the experience and the tour guide was excellent.
Rajesh B — Google review
These caves are very close from the airport and they are very interesting and beautiful inside. They are not that big but still you can enjoy something unique. There are tours in English and Spanish. You cannot enter alone and you must go with a guide. They only let you take pictures at some specific points sadly. The entrance fee for tourists is $10.
Diego R — Google review
We visited Hato Caves while driving around the island. They have tours every half hour and were able to walk right into one. You climb several steps to get up to the caves. Tour was 45 min total. Very interesting inside. Grounds are beautiful. Guide was very knowledgeable. Fans running the caves to keep air flowing. Check out our full video and other videos of our Curacao adventures on YouTube: Wandered Off

Whenever I have the opportunity to explore a cave, I take it—and Hato Cave did not disappoint! The 30-minute guided tour offers a fascinating look into the island's interior landscape. The cave is well-lit throughout, making it easy to navigate and appreciate the features without worry. You’ll encounter stunning formations of stalagmites and stalactites that make the cave incredibly unique. Keep an eye out for the small bats that call this place home—you might spot them fluttering overhead or nestled in the darker corners. One thing to note: despite being in a cave you are not deep underground, so the cave is surprisingly warm, so don’t expect a cool escape from the heat. Overall, it’s a unique and worthwhile stop for anyone interested. Also, there are quite a few stairs to get up into the cave, so those with poor knees may want to pass.
Dan B — Google review
This was an amazing tour of the caves. Mr Daisy took his time to explain the formation and history of the caves and show us its wonders. He speaks 4 languages so everyone was included.

Jan Thiel Beach is a popular destination known for its white sand and vibrant atmosphere. Located near Jan Thiel Bay, it offers a wide flat sand area with plenty of loungers and shaded spots. Visitors can enjoy water sports, snorkeling, and swimming in the crystal-clear waters. The beach is lined with five beach bars and restaurants, each offering a unique theme and entertainment options.
After a long sail day, we arrived at Jan Thiel Beach, a vibrant spot with plenty of restaurant and bar options to enjoy a refreshing cocktail. The atmosphere was unbeatable, with perfect views to sit back, relax, and watch the sun dip below the horizon—a picture-perfect ending to the day.

It is a beautiful small beach full of bars and restaurants all along. There are many venues where you can choose from, to buy a snack or have a drink. There are a couple of swimming pools that belong to the Papagayo Hotel. You must pay for beds on the beach. The prices are a little high and I would say this is the Dutch beach.
Diego R — Google review
I enjoy visiting this place from time to time for snorkeling, lounging, hiking, or dining. There are plenty of restaurant options available. Please note that there is a fee to access the beach for swimming or snorkeling. They also offer massage services and diving lessons. While it may not be the best spot for snorkeling on the island, it’s still a solid choice overall. Additionally, there are retail shops and gift shops on-site.
Kimberly P — Google review
Crystal clear waters. Quiet atmosphere on most days (but Saturday’s have amazing live music). Variety of delicious food options—from pizza and chicken to ice cream and fine dining. What more could you ask for? Went here 3 times during my week in curacao. Found it better than other options (Mambo Beach, etc). Highly recommended
Ami S — Google review
There was a small entrance fee per person. I feel like we may have missed the best part of the beach because we ended up sitting right outside the Zanzibar restaurant. There’s also a fee for chairs and a few palapa-style (palm-covered) shades available for rent. This beach had stairs leading into the ocean instead of a sandy shoreline. The water wasn’t as blue as some of the other beaches we visited, but it was still beautiful. There were a few restaurants on-site, and you could rent snorkeling gear if you wanted. Overall, it was okay — but definitely not as impressive as the other beaches we went to.
S W — Google review
$3 per person entry fee, then we rented a day bed for about 35(?) that came with towels and a large water. We ordered other drinks and food. Service was decent. The water is calm. Not as clear as some beaches so not really a snorkeling option… papagayo’s infinity pool is nice. Lots of parking. Several cafes or restaurants or gelato options…

Hemingway is a popular bar and restaurant located at Lions Dive & Beach Resort in Curacao. It's best to visit on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evenings for live music and a vibrant atmosphere. The venue offers both indoor and outdoor spaces with a typical Caribbean ambiance, providing stunning views of the sea and beach. Visitors can enjoy Cuban live music and food on Sunday nights.
Beautiful restaurant located on the beach. We walked in for early dinner at 5pm and it was empty, but if you go later, you might want to make a reservation. There were many tables that had the “Reserved” sign on it. If you are not a hotel guest, there’s a public parking lot across the street that charged $3 USD. Food was great and I loved the mango smoothie.

Beautiful setting gets the 5 star. Burger ordered well done came out rare and supposed to be plain but fully dressed. Made another one. I guess well done still means pink here. Made a reservation at 6 but was assumed for 5 but they made it right. Priced normal for the area. Average $25 per plate. Cocktails were great. Overall it was still nice experience for the most part. Even was joined by a cat which I didn’t mind. But check out the sunset we took pictures of. I would come back but probably mainly for the cocktails. You will need to pay to park.

Service for breakfast and lunch is good. Lunch was good, also nice service. My husband and teenage daughter had burgers and fries. I had the chicken skewer with rice. The rice with peas was good. A little too much peanut sauce on the skewer but the chicken was good. We ordered drinks throughout the day as we enjoyed the beach. Each time it was good. I appreciated seeing the solar panels! …the birds are ever present there.

I guess had we read the reviews we probably wouldn't have ate here. Since we didn't feel like driving anywhere, this restaurant was across the street and I had a taste for a burger. Nice location, along the beach. This place looks very nice, just looking, but the experience is not. The service was poor right away. We asked if it was open seating and it seemed like we were ignored. Two waitresses were right there just talking. One of them rudely didn't answer, which made my partner want to leave. I still wanted my burger 😅. A short wait to be seated. I ordered hemingburger deluxe and he ordered a cheeseburger. The burgers were not good. The fries were decent. It took forever for us to get the check. The staff pays no attention to the customers or understand when to bring the check. This restaurant was not it & based on the reviews, the experience is the normal for quite a few.

Solid 4 stars! Made reservation ahead. Upon arrival, staff at the reception was very polite and lead us to table right beside the beach. Excellent view and atmosphere is amazing. We ordered drinks and a few mains. Everything is very good and price is reasonable. Quick service and food is hot. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area. We see patron jumping in for a quick dip and it’s beautiful area. There is a close by parking for $3 USD

Loved my time at Hemingway! You can come here solo or with a group – either way, it’s easy to feel at home. The beach is beautiful both during the day and at night, and the whole place has a relaxed but lively vibe. Drinks are great, and the bar staff are super friendly and fun to talk to. Music adds a lot to the atmosphere, especially on Sundays with live salsa music and dancing – really good energy. The food is tasty too. Definitely one of the best spots in the area for good vibes and great company.

Located in the Penstraat, MosaCana Bar & Kitchen stands out with its stunning murals. The menu offers a delightful surprise with options like Carib Lager beer and Johnny Colada cocktails. The food selection includes nachos with guacamole, fried tortilla with salmon, bao buns pork belly, and truffle mayonnaise. This Latin and Caribbean fusion bar and restaurant provides a cool vibe with air conditioning, lively music, and expertly crafted cocktails.
This is one of the best restaurants I have eaten in a long time! Everything was perfect. The restaurant is a bit hidden just outside the city center but when you enter the ambience is very cosy. You can sit on a roofed terrace outside or inside, there are murals everywhere. The staff is very friendly and quick. They give good advice about the food and are very polite. The food and cocktails were one of the best I ever had. They have several original cocktails with flavours I have not experienced before. The food was fantastic! They have several vegetarian/vegan options that were amazing. The other dishes were great as well. The flavours are very balanced and unique. The prices reflect the quality of the food and in my opinion it is reasonable. This is not a restaurant for a quick and cheap bite but perfect if you have something to celebrate or just love good food!

Beautiful resturant! There's plenty of parking outside. Brought my bf here for his birthday and we had a great meal. Service was meh tho. We got tuna, scallops, soft shell crab buns, tacos, fries, and eggplant entree. The scallops and tacos were amazing. My bf loved the tuna. Soft shell crab was not bad but just not as good as other items. Unfortunately, neither of us enjoyed the eggplant because it was too overpowering in flavor. For desert, got the ice cream and we both loved it. Food was great but service was not so. We ordered a steak, I guess the waitress didn't hear it so it never came out. She also never confirmed with us what our order was so that could've been avoided. After our meal was done, we were asked if there was anything else, we said we're all set to go. No one brought the check and we had to flag another server down.

Dined at Mosacaña after a hot day strolling around Willemstad. We were thinking about skipping the dinner reservation because we were quite tired and we were SO GLAD we didn’t. This was a lovely restaurant with great atmosphere. The staff were exceptional and the food was fantastic. The Rum Ribs in particular were so good we’re considering coming back before our vacation ends. Absolutely delicious.

We got this restaurant recommended by a local for a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! I am surprised that we could just walk in on a Saturday night with the place being this good! The concept is social dining so you order dishes to share for the table. The atmosphere is chill and relaxed in the courtyard and the food! The food was so tasty! Small portions but with a lot of flavor. We had the shrimp tacos - so good and the cod and baby back ribs real good. The best part was the desert! I really recommend the coconut tiramisu which was so fresh and tropical l. It is really nicely presented 😍 The recommend 2 dishes per person. We also had their homemade passion fruit/mango soda that was super fresh😍 The place was a little pricy because of the sharing but still fair! I would definitely go again.

MosaCaña is definitely a special restaurant with a great and diverse menu. I highly recommend the codfish and the calamares fritos — both were excellent. For vegetarians, the padrón peppers and cauliflower frito are fantastic choices. We usually hike from Mamabo Beach to Jan Thiel Beach, and our go-to chill spots have always been KoKo or Zanzibar. However, last Sunday, we decided to try Papagayo Beach Club. The pros are clear: plenty of comfortable lounge chairs, a beautiful infinity pool with an ocean view, and a crowd that brings a mellow, pleasant vibe. But the cons are significant. The food and drinks didn’t impress. I had a piña colada, which was far too sweet, and the whiskey sour had a smoky aroma that made it taste nothing like a proper whiskey sour. As for the food, while the presentation was nice, the taste was bland. The worst part, though, was the poor management. After an 8 km hike, I was hungry and ordered a fish dish. When it arrived, I didn’t notice that it was actually chicken, I was so hungry that I didn’t realize the mistake. Halfway through, the waitress came back and told us there had been a mix-up and that I’d received chicken instead of fish. She asked if I still wanted the fish, and of course, I said yes. She took the half-eaten chicken dish back and brought out the fish about 10 minutes later. Then, a guy came out with my original chicken plate and asked if we wanted it. Not wanting it to go to waste, we said yes. But then they told us we’d have to pay for the chicken since we’d already eaten half of it. I didn’t want to make a scene over a $24 meal, but honestly, the whole situation was mishandled poorly. That experience really soured our time there, and honestly, we may not return. The lounge area is nice, but if you’re eating here, pay close attention to your order. If something’s wrong, don’t touch it, return it immediately to avoid being charged for something you didn’t order.

Rented two beach beds and hung out at the club all day. Loved the infinity pool. The service was good and both the fruit platter and snack platter were delicious. Will be coming again next time I’m in curaçao. Only recommendation/comment would be sheets on the beds to protect a bit from the sun as the angle changes.

Beautiful spot to relax, eat, and enjoy the ocean. There is beachfront pool and lounge chairs that make it easy to spend hours here. The beach is right there, and the views are stunning. It definitely has more of a resort vibe, so expect higher prices, but the overall experience makes it worth it if you’re looking to treat yourself for a few hours. It also has a huge beach party at night with some after-hours spots too.

Five stars location with salt water infinity pool. We rented a cabana which includes water, fruit platter and snacks. We arrived early and it wasn’t too busy. We got one of the cabana near the pool. You can access the beach which is 5 mins away. Good location since food and drinks are right there. We start off with breakfast in the morning then sushi for afternoon. We stayed till 5:00pm and it was fun. Highly recommend if you are planning to go to the Jan Thiel beach

We went here for the afternoon. We had two lounge chairs by the infinity saltwater pool. The pool was about 5’ deep and overlooked the ocean. It was a nice, relaxing time. It was later in the day and not busy at all. We had a couple of drinks that were good. The bartender was friendly.

Definitely a place to go for a cute date night! Food and drinks were good but they did take a bit long, it wasn’t a busy night either. But nonetheless, still a place worth checking out

On July 31 I arrived to Curacao for my vacation and when I say they took care of me . Lycalle and her entire dinner crew gave me great guest service and made me feel welcomed at the restaurant. The food was great. I didn’t want to go to any other restaurant. I would eat breakfast with Francesca and her team . I loved the breakfast buffet and they took care of me for my birthday boat trip. Everyone from breakfast to dinner made this a wonderful experience. I will never forget all the young servers making me feel at home .Thank you to each and everyone of the staff for making me feel welcomed. I couldn’t find my paper with all the names so everyone treated me good.

A superb establishment notable of a Michelin star. The dishes were fresh, creatively unique and delicious. Nothing we had was disappointing. The service was punctual and the food and drinks flood at perfect timing. There are no bad words to give. You should eat here!

In the 12 days we were on the island we have been the Ceviche 2x. As real foodies (and my man being a sous chef) we love good tasteful food that makes your taste buds happy. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The perfect dinner. From the moment we arrived, until we left, the service here at Ceviche 91 was outstanding. Each staff member that visited our table made us feel so welcome - everything was just perfect. Started with four excellently prepared cocktails, followed by an excellent array of appetizers and mains. The food was simply excellent, every bite. Desserts were also crafted with care. All in all, a wonderful spot, well worth the visit. 🌟 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Best food, service and atmosphere we had in Curacao. It was so good we came back for lunch before we left the island. We got a mix of a bunch of things. Ceviches, sushi, and tartars were all amazing. Highly recommend!

The food, my oh my, was absolutely exquisite. A delightful symphony of flavors that danced upon my palate. And let's not even get started on the view, it was a breathtaking spectacle that left me in awe. The service, well, it was top-notch. Truly impeccable. Oh, what a splendid experience it was! I highly recommend making reservations during the night, for it adds an extra touch of enchantment. And as for the drinks, they were nothing short of extraordinary. A perfect accompaniment to an already marvelous affair.

Make a reservation! We didn't and barely got a table for dinner so before I tell you how good it is, make the reservation! You won't regret it. Another beautiful restaurant inside of the fort with seaside seating. The view and breeze are terrific! We had the ceviche 91 to get a variety. It was delicious. The server tells you the order to consume the different dishes. We also tried the calamari and it was okay but not the best in the island. Our server was wonderful. Highly recommend you try this place! It's cozy and wonderful! We went on a Thursday night and there was a fireworks display so go on Thursday if you can!

Amazing experience for Mother's Day with a lovely mother's day menu option. Gorgeous views over the ocean and a great breeze to stay cool. The food was delicious! Such a mix of flavours and even within each bite there was a flavour journey. The staff was also very nice and they helped make our dinner special. Definitely recommend this place and we are also definitely coming back.

Blue Bay, Curaçao is a stunning beach with soft white sands and crystal-clear blue waters, making it a must-visit destination on the island. It offers resort amenities such as beach chair rentals, umbrellas or palapas for shade, and high-end restaurant and bar options. The beach is part of a resort but open to the public for an entrance fee. Visitors can also enjoy activities like kayaking and snorkeling in the vibrant underwater world with on-site facilities available.
Nice private beach, heard is the most expensive one to get in to. Good place for snorkeling by the edges of the cove. Bar and restaurant available (not allowed to bring your own food/drinks).
Byle U — Google review
A bit overrated. 14$ entry making it the most expensive on the island. It’s very well kept, but the water was almost green when we came. Snorkelling is pretty good but nothing crazy. For those brave enough, there is a free entry towards the bathroom on the side of the beach. We didn’t go that route, but seemed doable
Arthur B — Google review
5 stars for the beach but for snorkelling you better go to a different beach. It’s the most expensive beach on the island if you don’t live there you need to pay $14 USD entrance fee per person including kids. Parking is free

At Blue Bay your day begins with a warm greeting from Peaches followed by a gorgeous beach, clear, calm water and white sand. How can you not fall in love? A short relaxing swim with a mask will earn you a view of the amazing reef and if you’re a diver, Charlie in the dive shop will make you feel at home. All of the servers are friendly but don’t forget to tip! There are many beautiful beaches on Curaçao but this is the one I will keep coming back to again and again.

Amazing private beach! the best in Curazao. It costs 14 usd/person, and the fee includes chairs and wifi. There's a bar inside where you can buy drinks and food, but you can also enter with your own. Important: The beach is inside a gated/private neighborhood and you need an ID to access
Adrian B — Google review
There is a charge for the beach and beach chairs if you are not staying in the Blue Bay resort. There is plenty of parking near the beach. The sun loungers are not too close together so the beach didn’t feel too crowded. The palm trees provide plenty of shade. There is food and drinks service provided to your sun lounger…just scan the QR code. We found the staff to be very helpful and service to be quick. The sea is easy to access with very few rocks…no water shoes needed.

Mikve Israel-Emanuel Synagogue, the oldest surviving synagogue in the Western Hemisphere, is a must-visit for those interested in exploring the unique history of Curacao. This historic site has been in regular operation since 1732 and offers tours, a Judaica museum, and a gift shop. Additionally, visitors can explore the Bleinheim and Beth Haim cemeteries to discover headstones that represent stories spanning Curacao's history.
very few people know of the jewish community in curaçao and even fewer know that it has been the first in the americas and the richest and most important until the mid 19th century. the synagogue is still active although the community is dwindling. the museum is small but very well organized and undeniably deeply cared for. definitely worth a visit.

Extraordinary and can’t miss in Curaçao 🇨🇼 It’s the oldest functioning synagogue in the Americas. It’s reform nowadays, very welcoming. Rabbi Hirsch is wonderful. Breathtaking beauty and you can’t help but get watery eyes after you understand the historical significance of this place.
Ami S — Google review
Beautiful synagogue, as many have already mentioned it’s the oldest in the western hemisphere that still functions today! It’s apparently a replica of the original in Amsterdam, complete with the sand floor. I didn’t come for shul (I’m observant/orthodox and this is reconstructionist — observant folks, go to Chabad!) but I did morning prayers here before going to the museum. Such a joy to daven within the same walls as thousands of our ancestors have for hundreds of years.

It is an interesting synagogue. Unique to see how different groups practiced their faith.

A visit to the oldest surviving synagogue in the Americas is an absolute must. The history of this synagogue is very interesting and is explained in detail through a timeline display. It also goes into some of the history of Curacao which I found very useful and informative. Next to the synagogue is the museum, which is considered to be a "living museum" meaning a lot of items on display are used for service or special ceremonies/events.

This is a great experience to know about Jews in Curacao and also in Latin America. You can visit the synagogue for up to a week if you keep the bracelet in good condition. Plan the visit well to be able to look at the details of the many artifacts that are in the exhibition. Definitely a must just to know a little bit more of historical facts.

Restaurant Nultwintig is a charming eatery located in Willemstad's trendy Pietermaai neighborhood, offering a blend of Mediterranean cuisine with local influences. The restaurant, which shares its name with its sister establishment in Amsterdam, boasts a beautiful seaside setting and opens daily for lunch and dinner. With a focus on using the freshest ingredients, the menu features an array of international dishes such as fresh fish, veal, steak, and lobster.
This was our first restaurant in Curaçao as we landed on a Saturday afternoon & they were one of the few open at that time. Glad that was the case as we all enjoyed our food and it was a great setting to relax and enjoy being on the island. Nice mix of restaurant, bar and small private beach. It all mixes well and very friendly staff! Highly recommended and next time we could see spending an afternoon enjoying the food, drink and pool

The service and atmosphere are unmatched due to their caring staff and beautiful ocean views. They deserve extraordinary credit for being so attentive and personal throughout our dining experience. However, the food itself could use a little extra weight for what you pay for. My husband and I each did the 6 course chef surprise signature meals to which we thought it would be too much food by the end but it ended up being too little.

By far this was the best restaurant we have been on the island! We spent around 6 nights and each night to a different restaurant. The quality of the dishes, the portions, the service! I am going to give a very detailed review since this is supposed to be a fine dining establishment with an eye for detail. Sadly, that was not our experience. Two and a half stars because of the attentive service. My wife and I visited for her 30th birthday. We wanted a special meal, but let me tell you, when we arrived at 7:30, we were greeted nicely and seated at our table. The atmosphere was very nice and romantic. Sadly, our table was placed somewhere that every time someone walked by, it shook our table like an earthquake because of the deteriorating deck. But fine. Then, three different servers came and asked us if we wanted water, one after the other. We then decided to go à la carte. We ordered some bread and butter and the entrees. The bread arrived 15 minutes later, and it was good. We also got some amuse-bouches: this olive-looking thing (1 star for that) and the tom kha kai bite was pretty good (4 stars). We also ordered the main dish. I then got a cocktail, which was very good, and I was happy with it. Where it started deteriorating was when we got our entrees at 9:10—a full 1 hour and 45 minutes later. And when we got it, it was basically two small spoonfuls of flavor, which wasn't that flavorful. The steak tartare was missing seasoning in my opinion. By the time we finished eating at 9:15, we started to get worried if it was going to take another hour and a half to eat a spoonful. So we asked the waitress, and she assured us she would tell the kitchen and make sure we got it on time. (Mind you, we were Googling other restaurants to go to, and they all closed at 10.) So we gave them 15 minutes until 9:30, or we would just go elsewhere.By 9:35 they brought out a short rib (5/5) and (roasted veggies), which were actually boiled veggies, and we sent those back. Three minutes later, my wife's ravioli arrived, and the pasta was undercooked and hard. We finished our meal, asked for the check, and left for Soi 95, where we had a proper, high-quality meal instead. They did take the veggies and ravioli off the check, but this is all highly unexpected for a so-called fine dining restaurant with eye for detail.

Came to the restaurant by chance and was pleasantly surprised. Chilled atmosphere, delicious food. We chose a light meal: salad with shrimps. Friendly, courteous staff. We will definitely be back for dinner.

This was a beautiful and memorable evening. Service was excellent, the 5 course tasting menu was perfectly balanced. Exécutions are thoughtful, complex and interesting. Having each dish be a surprise is always fun too. Pacing was excellent, at no point was anything rushed or lagging, with the team constantly checking the pulse. Beautiful spot, great flavours, from the amuse-bouche’s smoked butter, allll the way to the last bite of desert. Kudos!

Service was slow at first. We sat down for 10 minutes without menu or waitstaff. Only when we protested and were ready to walk out was the menu brought out. Our waitress Micaella was very nice and attentive. We ordered the dishes she recommended. Most turned out to be excellent. Floral decor and romantic atmosphere, beautiful ocean and sunset view. Prices were on the higher end. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres, bread and butter were served before meal. 4*Watermelon with vodka 5*Raisin bread, warm and fresh 5*Mixture ball? Anchovies, tomatoes, olives, garlic and chocolate mixture, very innovative and interesting flavors We ordered: 5*GOAT CHEESE CRÈME BRÜLÉE carameliced onion, walnuts, dried figs, port syrup, Parmaham: mixed flavors with a tiny bit of sweetness. Great appetizer, first mouthful convinced me that it was a true fine dining establishment. 4*Grilled Peach salad: mixed flavors, peach was replaced by apple, very good salad 4*DOVER SOLE (NOT IN THE MENU)- a la meunière, baby potato, salad, butter sauce: sole was fresh, but hard to make it flavorful. It was a good dish, but not something to come back for. 4*DUCK-baby carrots, parsnip crème, sweet potato crème, orange rosemary sauce, crunchy duck skin, and cherry tomatoes: duck was tender and good, but not much flavor. 5*Sweet potato fries: perfectly fried. 5*BOMBE-White chocolate, coffee, chocolate, pecans, honey, passion fruit ice cream: like chocolate mousse with lemon sorbet, rich and tasty, perfect! 5* CHOCOLATE CAKE: rich and delicious
Rachel B — Google review
Very chic place. Love the open kitchen. Started with great service. Funny to see there is no real bartender but the girl who served has made one of the best amaretto sours and margaritas on the island. She was very attentive. Great service in all. Food was amazing. Tuna tartar was fun and delicious, the potato salad was amazing. The veal cheak was flavourful and so tender. The best lentils EVER!. The chicken was nice but felt a bit dry. It's a bit uncomfortable eating the chicken and lentils from such a big and deep bowl. Even the fries were tasty. The special dessert was amazing. Loved the attention paid on us for the special needs (lactose and gluten intolerance). Portions could be bigger though, just a little bit. Wished the food came out a bit faster. The pricing is really good for such a fancy place. I'm recommending 020 to all friends and co-workers.

Pietermaai Boutique Hotel is a stylish 18th-century Dutch Colonial house turned into an upscale 4-star hotel located in the historic Pietermaai District of Curacao. The elegant rooms have been meticulously restored, offering spacious accommodations with thoughtful decor and architecture. The suites are reminiscent of chic European pied-a-terre, featuring kitchenettes, wooden floors, and outdoor sitting areas.
Perfect place for a long weekend getaway. Units look like the photos posted on the website. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We stayed in the penthouses and you can hear the ocean all day and night in the rooms facing the sea. We had no unpleasant noise issues in our units. It was really relaxing.

Stayed here for a week as a solo woman traveler during Easter weekend 2025. Overall a good experience but let’s go over negatives first: I booked the loft hotel which had VERY VERY STEEP steps that took some time and patience getting used to. The room did not have a lot of natural light, meaning when I walked outside I got blinded by the sun since I felt as I was in a cave. The room I got had no view of the ocean or street, which is a shame since I was right on the ocean, but it’s just the design of the building. The walls are very thin meaning anything going on outside sounded as if it was happening in my room. There was a concert that weekend and it was absolutely insane how the music permeated my walls as if I was sleeping in the middle of the concert lol. POSTIVES: there is house keeping everyday, the staff is extremely nice and accommodating. The grounds are nice and taken care of. This is an ideal location for those who like walking and being able to explore Willemstad. The pool was cute but small. The room was pretty clean for the most part, other than a dusty floor and an old smell in the room. There was a mini kitchenette in the room as well as a lot of restaurants in walking distance to my room. Also to note, my room is directly on a public alley, meaning it wasn’t a lobby I walked through to get to my room. Just something to note. Overall a good experience but I would definitely book a room with a better view and a one story room.

The Hotel is located in the center of Pietermaai district, a couple of minutes walk from queen Emma bridge. Near you'll find a lot of cozy and toasty restaurants. The are 2 swimming pools at the premises, relatively Small but really nice. The owners should really consider changing the cooking accessories from time to time. Pans were really used. Also the bathroom was quite tiny. Besides that we have a really pleasant stay.

We had a lovely stay at the Pietermaai Boutique Hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, making them suitable even for a longer stay. The kitchen has the basics you need, though nothing more. The bathroom is quite small — especially the shower — but overall, it’s more than sufficient for a short vacation. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always available to answer questions about things to do, excursions, or anything else we needed. The only real downside was the location of our room, which was right next to the bar Mundo Bizarro. Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday they have live music until midnight. Unfortunately, the room didn’t have much soundproofing, so whether we liked it or not, we ended up “enjoying” the music. If you like to go to bed before midnight, this might be a bit annoying.
Thomas B — Google review
First the positives. The hotel is located in a great place if you want easy access to the most popular locations of Willemstad. The hotel is beautiful from the outside and has a very distinctive look that makes it unmistakable when you arrive. They have made a conscious effort in providing a minimalistic but elegant look to the suites I managed to see. The rooms are cleaned periodically, have plenty of space, a decently equipped kitchen (it didn't have a can opener, mind you) with a small cooler, an electric stove, basic tableware and stuff to cook your meals without issue. Now for the not so positives. The main reason I'll give two stars in service is because, for a four-star hotel in Curaçao, I find it unacceptable that they don't have staff that speaks Spanish, which is one of the most talked languages in the island. I had to send my wife ahead while looking for a place to park and they weren't helpful at all; they didn't provide any directions to her while in my absence and left her hanging outside until I arrived. They didn't even try. Completely unacceptable. Do they expect only English and Dutch fluent hosts? In Curaçao? The rooms are all spread over a block which can create issues for some people, on the back of the hotel there are many bars and restaurants that get very busy in the night, and I can't imagine sleeping over there. The room was ok I guess but still had issues. We were given a room that's on the basement just under the main hotel's office. The sound of people going around at the top floor was very noticeable and distracting. It didn't match the photographs that I saw while booking my reservation and I don't really care that much about it, it was somewhat private for a couple that's on a honeymoon, but the bathroom door is made of clear glass and almost directly on front of the bed, that could be a privacy issue for some people. Now, the bathroom wall had three punch holes the size of a large pipe next to the shower, while I didn't pay much attention to it and thought it was pointing to a maintenance area, my wife noticed that the holes pointed directly to an alley to the left of the hotel at street level. You could see ANYTHING, that's happening at the bathroom from there. Again, a privacy nightmare waiting to happen. That's a terrible oversight. Finally, pricing. While I think the price we paid was decent, everything else is a bit too much, $ 40 for a damn breakfast is almost criminal. I've managed small hotels and hostels before and some of the design decisions made for the Pietermaai Boutique Hotel baffle me, hope this review can help to improve the general experience at the place.

One star for the location only this hotel looked nothing like the photos after checking in I requested to pay the first night room and tax and move to a different hotel. The hotel refused to Honor my request. It was very outdated and dirty the air conditioner hung directly over the shower. The stairs were very narrow to the point you have to grip the stairwells and step sideways to get down. The shades stayed open so strangers could see into your room. The entrance to the rooms were attached to a shady alley with no lights and plenty of trees for a stanger to attack at any moment. The pool area was unkempt and filthy. Large pieces of cement gravel and rocks thrown about pool chairs old and dingy. Nothing about it screamed paradise it was a nightmare. I'm very sure they had some sort of bugs my companion and I had bites all over our bodies. This hotel was in walking distance of everything that's the only upside. I do not recommend I hate saying this pay the extra money for luxury

I had a very good experience and would recommend staying here. My room was very clean and the room service cleans it daily. They have a small kitchenette. I stayed in room # 17, it was very pleasantly decorated, to notice the 0 privacy for the bathroom - there are no doors whatsoever. It worked well for me because I was there alone but I wouldn't have felt ok if I had to share the room. The staff was very kind and they give good instructions via Whatsapp upon arrival. I arrived on a Thursday and had to look for street parking for a good 10 minutes because on Thursday they have some events going on in town but the other days I parked right in front of the hotel, no problem whatsoever. Not far from this hotel there is a delicious restaurant called bistrot 91 i highly recommend going there for dinner!

Kokomo Beach in Curacao is a low-key sandy beach with turquoise waters, deck chairs, a dive center, and a restaurant. It's known for its charming rocky shoreline and iconic photo opportunities, including the famous Kokomo sign with swings hanging from palm trees. This beach offers a peaceful ambiance and stunning views of the Caribbean waters, making it perfect for couples. Just 15 minutes from the port, it's ideal for families and novice snorkelers.
Such a beautiful beach! It's small so it's best to get there right when it opens. The food is good, the snorkeling is fun and cheap. The waves were slightly rocky when I went but if you're a confident swimmer you'll be fine. Like all the beaches on the island make sure you have your water shoes! There was a pack of dogs in the parking lot. The alpha was slightly unnerving but they just seemed like they wanted food. I'd never seen dogs like that before. They were entertaining to watch. Overall I would definitely return, it's worth a visit!!

As others have mentioned. There aren’t many places to put your towel down and if you do purchase a chair, many of them have no shade. Photos are from early morning (9am) before the sun was completely out. The water is beautiful. Snorkeling was a little rough since the water is a little choppy which causes water to get inside your snorkel.

Small beach, not many shade options. If you can't handle the sun then you'll have to go early to get some shade. A bit rocky but using the stairs to go into the water helped. Food options and service was great. We had chicken wings, passion fruit juice and passion fruit popsicles (all very tasty). Snorkeling was decent. The best part is that its close to the downtown area (20 minute drive).

I would describe this place as an okay Beach but expensive. The only different thing they have is the singer with the name of the beach on it I didn't stay here for a long time and I left the place before they could charge me for the use of beach beads. If you want to visit I recommend you to get there early, around 9-10 am. If you plan to sneak food do it in your bags.

Fantastic beach experience. Wonderful amenities (bar and restaurant) with excellent service. Lovely beach and unexpectedly some of the best snorkeling on the island, though many folks were new (standing on corals, touching or attempting to touch fish and sealife) for their GoPro videos can be upsetting, so some rules around that would be helpful. Highly recommend, note the beach is private so watch the hours of operation.

Kokomo beach is beautiful and great for snorkeling. I saq some of tje largeat colorful fiah here and the sea life is amazing!! It is vwry rocky so u def want water shoes but worth it!! Just gorgeous!

Small beach, but well located, 20 minutes from Willemstad. It has all the necessary facilities to spend a day at the beach. You can snorkel on both sides of the beach. The food and drinks at the bar and restaurant are very good. Very friendly staff. Beach chairs are rented for US$6.00 each. You have to arrive before 10 to 11 am to find a good spot.

I may be in the minority with my review for this beach, but this is my perspective on it. To start with very rude personnel upon entry demanding we throw out our coffees before entering and on the beach charging $9 per chair. Secondly, very poor customer service at the bar where they pretty much questioned my integrity through their actions, after almost refusing me another drink after sharing an insect was found inside the drink. The beach itself is extremely rocky upon entry, which ruined my experience in the water since I was pretty much on rocks the entire time, being that I'm not a swimmer and I normally just stay at shoulder length water. Forgot to mention sand time was spent swatting flies and other native insects . To conclude, a hard pass, one and done.

Seafood restaurant
Sea Side Terrace is a charming waterfront restaurant located in the picturesque Pietermaai neighborhood of Willemstad. The intimate dining experience offers a tranquil atmosphere where guests can savor international flavors, particularly succulent seafood such as freshly caught fish. The restaurant has been serving locals and tourists for 25 years, offering a simple container kitchen and an open-air terrace with plastic tables and chairs right at Marie Pampoen beach.
We meant to come to this restaurant sooner on our trip, and certainly wish we had. The fish was so well made that we would have returned a second time if it hadn’t been our last day. This place is super authentic and the fish couldn’t be tastier. Try the lionfish!

Recommended to us for good local food by our AirBnb host which is walking distance from this place. Needed something as we were hungry from travelling. First meal on the island and no complaints. Good food, service, and location. Reasonable prices for what you get. Best fried snapper I’ve had in a while.
Christopher R — Google review
Amazing local food, fresh fish that they catch themselves. Prices are good and the staff is nice and friendly. The owner took some time to tell me the history of the place. Very cool to hear. We had a Red snapper and a mahi mahi. Both were very well prepared and full of "meat". Portions are plenty. Visit this place and support this local restaurant, its worth it!

A local gem that was near our resort. Seating is outside. We ate here twice. The food was decent. Not too many menu options but enough for the establishment. The conch was a lil overcooked. The fries, snapper, shrimp and fish soup were all good & the sauce/gravy. The ketchup is different and tasty as well. You can taste the difference in Curacao coke cola vs America. Loved their coke cola. The waitresses are nice as well as the guy that was there. One night we only ordered fish soup which they were out of, but the owner had it made for us.

On my first day in Curacao, I ended up here after getting lost looking for my condo. I saw this restaurant and decided to stop and regroup, and I'm soo glad I did. I mentioned my dilemma to the young lady who was serving me and she was soo helpful. I then decided to order lunch, so I settled on the fried conch with peas and rice, salad, and plantain. When she brought out my plate, I first thought it was scrambled eggs, but it was indeed pan-fried conch, and it was delicious. The rice and peas were plentiful, the salad was fresh and tasty, and the plantain was perfect. Not to mention it was right on the water, absolutely stunning. On my last day in Curacao, I couldn't think of a better place to go back to Sea Side for my last dinner on the island. This time, I ordered lionfish, rice and peas, salad, plantain, and polenta. I can not get over how much food you get and how delicious it is. Everything was perfect, but lionfish has a lot of bones, so be careful. This restaurant is a jewel, located by Marie Pampoen Beach on MLK Blvd. Great service as well. I'm forever grateful to the young lady who works there and helped me find my condo and get my bearings. Turns out I was right down the street from it.

For ME, easily the best food experience on the island! The oceanfront view, the upbeat vibe and the food, sheesh the food, was so good. Fresh caught mahi-mahi and whole fried red snapper the first time, the second time, it was just that delicious, red snapper and whole lion fish with rice and peas was just well seasoned as well as perfectly fried. The pepper stew that accompanied it was a welcomed addition. The fish soup was perfect, I had it twice. The young ladies in the back cooking were so nice and I could tell by their demeanor that I was going to enjoy this "home-cooked" meal. Would give a 10/5 if I can.

Little shack by the water serving fresh fried fish and tasty rice and beans. You get local freshness at a good price. We had large red snappers and tried the lion fish for the first time. We all preferred the tastier meat of the red snapper.

Sunscape Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino is an upscale all-inclusive beachfront retreat featuring 341 rooms and suites with private terraces and balconies offering breathtaking views of the Caribbean waters. Situated adjacent to Mambo Beach and the Curacao Seaquarium, it provides easy access to popular tourist destinations. The resort offers Unlimited-Fun amenities including 5 restaurants, 4 bars, a spa, and 3 outdoor pools.
My family of 4 (kids 3 and 5) had a great time at this resort. Our expectations weren’t super high since it was so affordable but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was fantastic and the kids club staff was very good with our boys. They had fun activities throughout the day for families and we were able to drop them off and enjoy some adult time in the afternoons. The beach was one of the best we’ve been to and we had a room right on the beach. FANTASTIC! We’ve been to several resorts in the Caribbean and I would not call this a 5-star resort, but for the price and options for kids, it was perfect for us. The casino was actually really fun too! The restaurants were not the best…hibachi was good, Italian was decent, the drill was actually really tasty, but the buffet was a little rough for anyone with picky taste. Overall it was a small and manageable resort with great snorkeling, a friendly staff, and a beautiful setting. We also loved that the aquarium was a short walk away and was a huge highlight for our family. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

I am not sure if the positive reviews are fake or possibly from people who work there, but in no way is this a 3,4 or 5 star resort. People in our group that stayed in the Tower had no AC and electrical issues. I stayed in the 8000 building, which had AC but had so many other issues. Lights didn't work, TV was off the wall and didn't work then shocked me when plugging it in, missing shower door panel which flooded the bathroom when using, door wouldn't close unless slammed shut making the handle loose and cracking the trim, closet doors would not slide, old and not maintained room overall. I reported all these things to staff and will guarantee someone is staying in my room with the same problems. The buffet was identical each day and below average. The Oceana served a better breakfast but there are literally pigeons fighting for your food. Literally pigeons on your table trying to get food. Staff was annoyed by any request except for the nice woman at the cafe. The bartenders would rather be somewhere else, even with constantly giving tips and saying hello and thank you. If you have been to any other all-inclusive resorts, you will see how bad this resort is. The only positive is you are next door to Mambo beach and can eat a good meal and entertainment there. Please avoid this place and spend extra money somewhere else.

Visited this resort for a spa day while a friend was staying there, and we got to check the place out a bit. It’s got a great beach, tons of activities, and that classic all-inclusive vibe, kind of reminded me of some resorts in Mexico. Definitely more family-focused and laid-back, not flashy like a Sandals. The room we saw (two doubles) was pretty small, and the balcony could use a refresh. Plus, there was a weird smell that was hard to ignore. On the upside, the spa was really cozy and the massage therapist was excellent. Overall? Not luxury, but a solid pick if you're looking for something affordable, relaxed, and family-friendly.

You can't beat the location. The staff is amazing, especially Judy. She always said hi. The lady in the coffee shop was also very friendly. The bar tenders remembered us and knew what we were drinking. The rooms were very small and some on the ground floor had some water leaking overnight. The food was good but not great. But you couldn't beat the beaches, pool and the beautiful sunsets.

We checked in and about an hour and a half later we were in the sun club looking to go to another resort. First we were on a honeymoon and we were supposed to have a banner and wine since we couldn’t have the honeymoon suite and no banner. I tried to set this up as a surprise to my new wife. I called the front desk and they brought up wine to make up for it. Then we took showers in a shower that’s missing a door. They told us to come by “VIP services” to get set up. It was really nice and helpful until he gets into “this is a 3 star resort but let’s set you up a tour with a 5 star so you know what you could have next time” great thing to hear, VIP services are just people that want to upsell. my wife said “we just got here and we’d like to check stuff out.” We got up and left. We were hungry. We went to a few places and couldn’t find food at this time, no restaurants are open and the buffet is in between lunch and dinner hours. When we did eat throughout the week the food wasn’t great, some stuff is actually pretty terrible. There’s weird periods where you can’t do anything. The casino tables are closed until 8pm, and we found out the dance club, a selling point for my wife, was down and so was another restaurant on site. We said let’s see if we can get out of here. They said come back in the morning to talk it over and we said ok. So we went to the pool things were nice, we’re enjoying the sunset in the pool and here comes an employee saying “hey I need you guys to come out the pool closes at 6.” Are you kidding me? So all the pools and swim up bar closes at 6, which we learned throughout the week the swim up bar is often closed. We tried requesting another hotel the next day and got no where. If we booked another resort even another Hyatt then maybe If I email their accountant they can help me. We said let’s suck it up and stay. We spent extra money to not be here. We spent a lot of time out of our all inclusive resort which is quite sad, but it’s the only way to truly enjoy your stay. For our honeymoon we wanted something special and we passed up the renaissance, which was amazing in Aruba, as well as Sandals because over a year ago this looked better with better reviews but I was really disappointed with everything. I’d spend your money anywhere but here or you’ll spend the same trying to make it worth it.

We had stay by Sunscape for my boyfriend birthday it was amazing. But are room air conditioner was working we had to wait almost 24 hours to get a fan and also by the front desk there was e young lady very rude working with curly hair. Other than that a big shoot out to ms Hilda and Eriela they are the best. Natisha and Crazy G you guys are the best dou for entertainment. Ms Yube she the best room attendent ever. And another big shoot out to ms Nushky she the best bartender in the resort and Eli you are the best chef and entertainment by the japanese restaurant. We will be back for sure

We had an opportunity to stay here for a week with 5 other couples, for 50th anniversary. We all want to make the best of it. Sadly the food is 1980 high school cafeteria. It’s good you ca eat it but not in the top 30% at all. It’s very dated, rooms are large but way too much deferred maintenance. Toilets did not flush, no real cold water but the A/C works but 30% of our group went days with no A/C. We received a great rate to the $300 per night. Check out the resorts and hotels just up the road and you will be blown away with the food shopping and entertainment. I think they really do their best, sadly short for what is asked for you to pay.

Sandals Royal Curacao is a romantic haven nestled within the 3,000-acre Santa Barbara estate, offering a private and luxurious escape. The resort boasts 24 different room types, including beachfront suites with swim-up access and bungalows with private infinity pools. With a plethora of amenities and stunning sunset views over the Spanish Water Bay and Caribbean Sea, couples can enjoy a carefree getaway focused on enhancing their romance.
We had the best experience at Sandals Royal Curacao and were treated like royalty on our honeymoon. We loved the Sandals experience so much that we booked another Sandals vacation in 2026. Chantal with loyalty and travel was super helpful. Annette at the Front Desk answered all of our questions and we were blown away by the talented performances and entertainment each night! We loved all of the pools and our beach time! Shelly-Ann, Ferrari, and Alana spoiled us at the pool bar and Gerald even got me a fresh coconut to drink out of! I snorkeled everyday right off of the beach and didn’t need to book another excursion to experience the sea life. Bike riding was a highlight for me each day as well looking at all of the flowers throughout the property. The fitness center was the perfect size and easy to access! Our favorites food wise were the Lemongrass Chicken at the food truck Kishi and we loved everything we ate at Gatsu Gastu from the cooking on salt stones to the sushi! Aolos had a gorgeous view for breakfast! We booked a cab into the city and had a blast! I recommend going on Thursday to experience the Festival and fireworks.

Our 8-day getaway at Sandals Resort was nothing short of extraordinary—especially as we celebrated our 30th anniversary here. Every moment felt like a celebration, and the resort went above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. First, the service was impeccable. Our three dedicated butlers, Tevin, Jeanpaul and Christus deserve the highest praise: they attended to every detail with care, from thoughtfully decorating our room (which made our anniversary feel even more special) and played our favorite songs before we came back to the room. The dining was another highlight—each meal was delicious, with diverse options that catered to our tastes, and the presentation and service in the restaurants were top-notch. Beyond that, the resort’s atmosphere, entertainment, and surroundings were perfect: the lively yet relaxed vibe, engaging nightly shows, and well-maintained grounds made every day feel joyful. We also had a chance to visit Curaçao historical downtown and dined in at a local restaurant which is amazing too! Kanaal Cafe is one of our favorite places to stop by every day. We like all the sweets and ice cream. Girlie is working in the cafe and she is very nice and friendly too! We left Sandals Resort with so many happy memories and a sincere desire to return. Thank you, Sandals, for making our 30th anniversary one we’ll cherish forever!

We had our honeymoon at Sandals Royal Curaçao and we had the most amazing and unforgettable trip! The service was out of this world, including Natasha, the main bartender at the lobby bar. The entertainment was fantastic. There was a silent disco, saxophone player, salsa classes, karaoke, and last but not least amazing pool games and entertainment. Dainalee was spectacular and hyped the whole pool up! The food was out of this world! We loved butch’s chop house and Aolos breakfast and dinner. We are definitely coming back to sandals for another vacation in the near future! 10/10 recommend!

We celebrated our 22nd Wedding Anniversary at Sandals Royal Curaçao. The resort is very beautiful and the entire area is well-kept and very clean. The food and drinks throughout the resort were very delicious. Our favorite restaurants were Aolos, Butch’s, Gatsu Gatsu, Zuka and the food trucks. What made our vacation even more special was the staff. We have vacationed at 5 Sandals properties. I can say without hesitation that the staff we encountered are THE best. Our amazing butler team (Christus, Jean-Paul and Tevin) were very kind, energetic, accommodating, and made us feel like family. We looked forward to seeing each of them everyday. We call them the “dream team”! We loved stopping by the lobby bar for a drink from our favorite bartender, Natasha! She always had a beautiful smile and made the best drinks. We often ate breakfast and lunch at the buffet in the restaurant Pietra. We looked forward to seeing Silvana at the desk with her welcoming smile and positive energy. She truly set our tone for the day! I can’t say enough about the amazing staff. I highly recommend a stay at Sandals Royal Curaçao!! You will be very happy you did.

My stay at Sandals Curaçao was absolutely incredible! The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully maintained. The entire resort is truly second to none — from the stunning views to the relaxing atmosphere everywhere you go. The food was amazing, with plenty of restaurant options, each offering something special. Everything about this place just makes you unwind and enjoy. But what really stood out was the exceptional service. Every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. A special thank-you to Natasha, Adrian, and Lara at the main-lobby bar — their warmth, professionalism, and friendly energy made every evening unforgettable. I would recommend Sandals Curaçao to any of my friends without hesitation. Five stars all the way!

Our stay at Sandals Royal Curaçao was nothing short of amazing. The staff is fabulous and so accommodating. The bartenders MaryAnn and Natasha were so kind and made amazing drinks! Thonchey, in the club sandals lounge, went above and beyond to get us reservations, and even food delivered to our room from one of the restaurants! Our room was very clean and always stocked with cold beverages, towels, and shower necessities. The grounds are beautiful and incredibly clean. The women in Kanal coffee shop were wonderful—Nachaira even remembered our orders by the end of the week! The pool was a little louder than we preferred, but the beach was perfect for us. The assortment of water sport options is wonderful and very easily accessible. I highly recommend a trip to Sandals Royal Curaçao!

We recently had a pleasant stay at Sandals resort, but we had concerns about the privacy in our seaside bungalow. Our bungalow features large glass windows facing the sea, which offers stunning ocean views but creates significant privacy issues when we need to change clothes. The bungalow is not designed as one bedroom suite, where you can have a separate living room. So it's very easy to see our bedroom if walking by. While the curtains are provided, but we would not be able to see the ocean view if we closed them. We did see the resort has posted a sign (see the picture I have posted) however it seems not clear enough. During our stay, I saw few other guests walked on the beach in front our bungalow, which we didn't expect to see guests over there. Enjoying the quiteness and private space were the main reason that we booked the bungalow. We suggest that the resort should post another sign to stop resort guests accessing the beach area outside these bungalows. Also, it seems to be an issue with the hot and cold water of the faucet. No matter which direction the handle was turned, only hot water came out! Finally, I would like to suggest that it would be even better if the TV can be swivelable so we can watch from both sides.

I am on my flight back home and still revelling on the superb service and wonderful time we had at Sandals Royal Curaçao. The weather was amazing, the property was clean and filled with friendly staff always ensuring we were having a great time. But the stars of the show were our amazing butlers that did everything and more to ensure we had a spectacular vacation. Kaiden and Kailen were the best team! We have had butler service in the past and they have always been good but this dynamic duo set the bar very high. Even when I felt ill the third day in from the heat they took care of our every need. We didn’t have to want for anything. It seems like before we could ask they already had what we needed. They were so personable and in touch with their guests needs. They truly go above and beyond. I would definitely recommend this resort and if you’re lucky enough to meet Kailen or Kaiden I can guarantee you’ll have a fantastic time.

The restaurant, located on a private beach, provides a romantic setting for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can indulge in three- or five-course dinners or choose from the a-la-carte menu.
We arrived early and John gave us a fantastic tour of the property. We were warmly greeted by staff when he brought us to the restaurant and we sat at the bar for some delicious cocktails before sitting for our meal. The service and food were both fantastic (we had the five course “Taste of Baoase” menu and it didn’t disappoint. There was a snack, two amuse bouche as well as a bread course before the five courses started. Each of the five courses had multiple dishes involved, and there were plenty of thoughtful and well presented flavor combinations. Staff were all friendly, knowledgeable and professional. There were plenty of small touches that helped make it a night to remember. What a beautiful spot… very memorable!

Review for Baoase Culinary Beach Restaurant During our family vacation in Curaçao this March, we had the pleasure of dining at Baoase with my husband and our three young children. It was an absolutely memorable evening! The service was impeccable—attentive, warm, and accommodating to both adults and kids. The setting is stunning, with a serene and welcoming ambiance that made us feel special from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent for everyone. The adults enjoyed a beautifully curated menu with fresh, flavorful dishes, while the kids were delighted with meals tailored perfectly to their tastes. To top off the evening, my husband played chess with our daughter right there after dinner, adding a personal and unforgettable touch to an already magical night. Baoase truly exceeded our expectations, offering not just a meal, but an experience.

I would give it 6 stars if that was an option. 50th anniversary dinner for us, couldn't have chosen a better place. The grounds are simply gorgeous exceeded only by the food. Lobster appetizer, followed by sea bass. The auxiliary tastings were excellent, if only I could remember all the ingredients. Also, a superb dessert(rasberry). Make sure you come here while in curacao, you will not be disappointed.

Reserved a table for two on a thrusday at 7p on the beach. First of all, the grounds are exquisite. We had a drink in the bar area before sunset. The service is excellent with well trained staff. The meal was up there in my top 10 culinary experiences. The menu has both experimental and traditional dishes. My favourite dish was the brisket side that came with the tenderloin. I also loved the crab salad that came w the tuna (although I didn't much care for the tuna starter. When served raw tuna, I like for the tuna to steal the show, this was not the case). They serve you amuses-gueules which are an unexpected surprise. We were also lucky to have live music with an excellent, lowkey soundtrack of 60'/70'/80's vibe After the meal they let us walk around the grounds to the islets across, which was delightful. I would definitely return here again if we come back to Curacao. It's definitely not a cultural experience but a romantic splurge. Overal an unforgettable experience.

Nestled in the vibrant Scharloo neighborhood of Willemstad, the "Three O'clock Romance" mural by local artist Francis Sling is a captivating sight that you won't want to miss. This stunning piece adorns the Dare building and tells a whimsical tale of two birds who serendipitously meet without planning their next encounter. They both return to the same spot at three o'clock, hoping to reunite.
The east side of Willemstad doesn't have as many murals as the west side, especially in Otrobanda, but this painted house brightens up the Scharloo Neighbourhood

I am hard pressed to find a city and medical school as captivating as Piscaderaweg, Willemstad. From the moment I arrived in Curacao, I felt an atmosphere that was distinctly upbeat, relaxed, and more than anything, genuine. Super hostel facilities, awesome faculty... I must recommend them. fantastic

Renaissance Overlook, a part of the Marriott family in Otrobanda, Curacao, offers a unique experience with its fantastic infinity pool and poolside service. The hotel's location by the canal entrance provides beautiful views, making it a great spot for photos, especially during late afternoon and evening. Although there may be some confusion regarding breakfast inclusions, guests appreciate the welcoming upgrades offered by the hotel.
Fantastic infinity pool with poolside service and beautiful views! $60 a person but very private. Worth it!!!!!

Outdoor Activities
Playa Jeremi is a hidden gem located in the northwest of Curacao near the village of Lagun. This tranquil cove offers soft sand for beachcombing and sunbathing, as well as protected waters perfect for snorkeling. The narrow cove features steps carved into rocks and a reef wall with grand coral formations. While there are no facilities available, this secluded beach is ideal for those seeking natural beauty and clear blue waters.
Beautiful beach. No tour buses (yet)! Great snorkeling on the sides, particularly on the right. Chairs and umbrellas.

The beach is beautiful, but it’s small and lacks any infrastructure.
Otavio C — Google review
It is a small Beach with a nice color as usual in Curazao but full of rocks at the entrance so you should be wearing your beach shoes. The dark a few places where you can buy a drink or grab a bite but do not expect much from the place.
Diego R — Google review
A tiny strip of a beach with a parking lot and decent snorkeling (especially on the right side). Strong swimmers can go around the point and make it to Playa Lagun as well. Stick to the cliffs though as hot rod jet skiers like to tear it up near by and there are often a few fishing boats.
Corrie D — Google review
Beautiful beach. Easy access from the parking. Nice snorkeling in clear water. Chair rental available.

Playa Jeremi is a hidden gem in Curacao and perfect for those looking for a quiet, unspoiled beach. The setting is absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear turquoise water, soft sand, and rugged cliffs surrounding the cove. It’s a great spot for snorkeling, as the water is calm, and you can spot a variety of marine life close to shore. The beach is very natural and doesn’t have any facilities, so be sure to bring everything you’ll need, like snacks, water, and shade. Parking is available nearby, making it easy to access. If you’re looking for a peaceful, scenic beach away from the crowds, Playa Jeremi is the place to go! --- Let me know if you’d like any adjustments!

Beautiful, quiet beach. No entry fee. The snorkeling is underrated in my opinion. We saw 11 squid our first day and 5 more the next! The reef by the cliff on the right side is lovely, teeming with fish and very picturesque. The beach is kept clean, chairs available for rent as well as shade sails and umbrellas. If you want more amenities, this is not the beach for you, though. No food, no bathrooms. There was a watchful attendant looking out for the parking lot. Much appreciated!

I love this beach! Such a great relaxed vibe here. There was a stunning view from the parking area above, and even some cute cats lingering around. Once down on the beach there were little cave like nooks on each end. I walked through the water to get to this little spot on the left side and sat up on some rocks. I love to collect sea glass, so I’m always running my hand through the rocks to see what pops out. To my surprise I found a super rare red piece right there! I collected a small handful of other sea glass colors, a couple shells, as well as a few sea worn pennies. Great spot to treasure hunt or just relax in the sun or shade.

Outdoor Activities
Playa Santa Cruz is a stunning beach located in the south end of the village of Lagun, Curacao. It boasts a large stretch of white sand and is perfect for swimming. The beach offers picnic tables with palapa umbrellas for relaxation and shade. Additionally, visitors can enjoy various water activities such as kayaking and boat tours from the watersports shop located nearby.
This beach is a well kept secret in the north of Curaçao and perfect for those staying there away from more touristy / busy beaches near Willemstad . Weekdays there are as many Pelicans "dive' fishing the water as swimmers! Weekends are busier. A small shed serves roasted meats, chips and even Smoothies!!

Not the nicest beach on the island, but still a very unique place to visit with plenty of nice hiking trails in the area
Arthur B — Google review
The best beach on Curacao. Private Secluded No tourists as the tours don't go here. Ample shaded seating Jet ski rental Boat rentals Best fish I had in Curacao.
Steve C — Google review
Nice beach for swimming away from tourists. Free palapas and tables available or lounge chairs to rent. Decent snorkeling near rocks and a cool cave to swim into.
Dan M — Google review
I can say that I really loved this place because it was not full of tourists and the beach has more sand than rocks. There is a beautiful mountain around the place and you can rent jet skis or just take a nice swim. There are a couple of venues where you can buy food and drinks. If you like places that are not full of people this is the place to be.
Diego R — Google review
Quiet beach with free parking. No restaurant, but there was a shop with a variety of water sport activities. There were plenty of shaded areas to get out of the sun. I saw some cute dogs in the parking lot laying in the shade behind peoples cars, and saw some other people petting other ones that seemed very friendly. Not sure if there was a bathroom. I saw some buildings at the end of the parking lot but I couldn’t tell if they were open. Overall nice place to hang out.

Like most beaches in Curaçao this one is also very beautiful. I did notice more trash around than the other larger beaches. Let’s go motor sports is next to the beach and they offer affordable excursions to nearby blue room.
Ginger A — Google review
The only place on the Island where you can rent a jetski without booking a tour, highly recommend. The restaurant I also nice
