Nestled in the heart of the Bernese Alps, Schilthorn is a breathtaking destination that offers an unforgettable experience for both adventure seekers and movie buffs alike. Standing tall at 2,970 meters, this iconic mountain features the renowned revolving restaurant Piz Gloria, which gained fame as Blofeld's lair in the classic James Bond film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service.' Visitors can reach this stunning summit via cable cars or by hiking through picturesque trails.
Awesome summit. Good services and safe reliable transportation. Highly worth the money for a full day trip. Have a coffee or a drink at the summit but skip the over priced Buffet. Dine at the bottom of the cable cars before you board the train to the last cable car down to valley
Gerard V — Google review
Visiting Schilthorn Piz Gloria was absolutely one of the highlights of my trip. The cable car ride itself was an incredible experience, smooth, comfortable, and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Swiss Alps. As we ascended, the scenery just kept getting more and more spectacular. At the top, the weather was perfect, which made the whole experience even more magical. The 360° views from Piz Gloria are truly stunning with snow-capped peaks, valleys, and endless mountain ranges that leave you speechless. The Bond-themed touches add a fun and unique twist to the visit, but the natural beauty alone is worth every penny. It’s not just a sightseeing trip, it’s an unforgettable adventure. Between the views, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, I can confidently say this was worth every moment and every cent. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Switzerland!
William S — Google review
Somewhat pricey to take the gondola up to the top, but it's well worth it for the views. There is a bunch of James Bond history and plaquards. But the views alone are breathtaking. You should fefinitely wait for a clear day, othe you'll just be looking at the fog.
Jeffrey V — Google review
Break taking views! Certain areas were under construction, but it did not take away from our experience. Be sure to walk out to the point and enjoy time in one of the viewing boxes.
Jeff C — Google review
Was the filming location of a 007 movie. Granted it is not as high as Jungrafraujoch, but the views are equally fantastic. Highly recommended to make a trip here. There is a rotating restaurant at the tower area also as well that serves very decent buffet lunch.
SL W — Google review
Great experience. The cable car on the first stretch is supposedly the steepest in the world. Remembered to include the 9 Euro cheese / cold cut option, which is served at the revolving Piz Gloria restaurant. It comes with a drink and there was plenty of food to fill us up. And it tasted good, too. So pretty much a no-brainer. The view from the top was great. Unfortunately clouds descended while we were there and it even started to hail. Which kind of added to the whole experience. Some cool James Bond stuff - check out the bathroom mirrors! Unfortunately quite a lot of construction going on, which detracted from the whole experience. Will still give it 5 stars, but probably more like 4.5 due to construction, high cost and a very unpleasant guy in the ticket booth. Everything else was perfect and definitely an experience. Now back in the US and planning on watching On Her Majesty’s Secret Service tonight 😊
Mike O — Google review
My less-than-ideal rating was solely due to the unfortunate timing of my visit. Otherwise, I would have missed the opportunity to go altogether. It was a heavily overcast day, because of that, I skipped exploring Birg and went straight up to Schilthorn instead. On top of the poor weather, Schilthorn was still under construction. After a quick browse through the gift shop, a short walk around the outdoor deck, and a light snack at the restaurant, it was already time to head back down. I’d have to return someday to truly experience the full beauty of this attraction. Hopefully on a clear day and once the construction is finally complete.
Cat H — Google review
The views are priceless and it's definitely worth it to go! However, be warned that getting around through the construction is extremely difficult. It look 20 minutes to figure out how to go down to the Walk of Fame and the View Lounges. That, for me, was the best part. It's away from the hordes of people fighting to get the best selfie and closer to nature. You can see forever! The best time to go is usually between 15:00-18:00 in the summer (weather permitting) because the clouds tend to lift around that time.

First is a breathtaking destination that offers an array of outdoor adventures and stunning vistas. Nestled in the Bernese Alps, it serves as a popular hiking hub where visitors can embark on a scenic 5.5 km trail leading from First to Grosse Scheidegg. This easy trek takes about two hours and showcases rolling meadows alongside magnificent views of the Jungfrau massif, making every step worthwhile.
This mountain is a gem. It's an amazing place to be and just sit and watch the cows, the bees and the paragliders. I advise to go up by cable cart / furnicular and go down by hike. You could go even further up to the top but we didn't do that. Unfortunately there was a long line for the mountain carts so we went back by cable cart.
N N — Google review
Season summer/ Perfect for hiking and viewpoints, a lot of cows. Approximately 25 minutes the cable car route. Winter Jacket, and sunglasses too 😅. But be careful. If you want to do extra activities there, you have to be there early because at 14:00 there was a waiting list of 150 , 190 minutes ..
Katerina G — Google review
We arrived at First Grindelwald around 3pm hoping to try some of the rides, but unfortunately they were all sold out except for the scooters, which we decided to skip. We still went up the gondola though, and it was worth it for the stunning views and the First Cliff Walk experience. To really make the most out of your gondola ticket, I recommend visiting earlier in the day or booking your rides online in advance so you don’t miss out like we did. The place is absolutely beautiful, but be prepared—it can get really crowded even on a weekday.
Erica D — Google review
Nice weather when we went up and we spent quite a while marvelling at the beauty of the place. Spent a long time walking around, taking pictures and just enjoying the cool weather.
Julius T — Google review
Expensive but also very beautiful scenery. Cost almost $200 U.S. dollars for two people. Cable car ride is 25 minutes and you can hike to the lake or do the cliff walk. I spent about a total of 4 hours here including the cable car ride.
Allen L — Google review
Really nice place there also if you want to save up some money and not go to Jungfraujoch. The only “problem” is the weather and from what I’ve been told from people that work there 50% is good weather 50% is bad weather and foggy. Not that it’s a big problem . It was still really nice to me! But the view is much more clear obviously and you can definitely appreciate the beauty of the mountains all around in 360 view without the foggy weather :-)

One of the most beautiful places I have ever been! It was the highlight of the Swiss 🇨🇭 tour! Stunning! Plus saw a live avalanche

Beautiful view and lots of fun adventures you can try. The cliff walk is a must and you can see Mt. Eiger here.

Lake Thun is a stunning alpine lake located in the Bernese Oberland of Switzerland. It offers a range of activities such as kayaking, boat rentals, hiking trails, and swimming beaches. The town of Interlaken serves as an excellent base for exploring the region, nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz with easy access to the iconic Jungfrau, Monch, and Eiger mountains.
A gorgeous stretch of blue and teal with trees on either side of the water is nothing short of spectacular. I was completely in awe when we got on the boat. The lake was magnificent and the colours were gorgeous. We saw houses on the edge of the lake and mountains hovering near them. There was also a small waterfall somewhere in the middle. But as the evening progressed, the winds became extremely cold to a point where it became intolerable and we had to step inside. The boat itself was quite old, beautiful, and well-maintained. There is a restaurant and a snack bar but you will need to be seated in the dining area to be served. It can get crowded so you may want bring some snacks and beverages for the long ride. P.S. A Swiss Travel Pass is an ideal option to avoid long queues.

Lake Thun is an absolutely stunning and romantic lake! I visited in 2019 with my family, and it was truly a memorable experience. The lake offers breathtaking views, crystal-clear water, and many beautiful picnic spots to relax and enjoy nature. Lake Thun is absolutely stunning! The serene waters and beautiful surrounding hills create a perfect atmosphere for families. Our children loved exploring the lakeside, watching the ducks, and simply enjoying the fresh air. Plenty of space to walk, relax, and soak in the views. A truly memorable spot that’s perfect for a family outing!

A dreamlike corner of Switzerland: Lake Thun Switzerland is breathtaking in every way, but Lake Thun has a special kind of magic. Surrounded by mountains, charming villages, and historic castles, it’s the perfect place to disconnect, breathe in fresh air, and marvel at nature. The water has a mesmerizing turquoise color, and every spot looks like it belongs on a postcard. Whether you’re sailing, strolling along the shore, or simply sitting down to take in the view, this lake offers peace and beauty in its purest form.

Enjoyed this boat ride especially on a nice weather day. View was gorgeous.

Lake Thun has absolutely amazing scenery. We spent almost an entire day there and still couldn't get enough. Starting in the morning, we enjoyed the view from St. Beatus Cave, getting a panoramic picture of the lake from above. Then we continued our adventure by ship, circling the lake and savoring every corner. The lake has very clear water, with beautiful typical farmhouses and the Swiss Alps in the background, adding to the picturesque setting. Every corner of the lake was stunning, perfect for healing and taking a break from your busy life.

- Jungfrau is the top of EUROPE 🇪🇺 - It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. ☃️❄️ - In summers also the temperature at top will be around -5°C to -8°C which is freezing. 🥶 - Journey to the top of europe with train is purely magical and unforgettable. 🛤️🚃 - Swiss 🇨🇭 Alps were absolutely jaw-dropping and feel straight out of a movie. 😍🤩 - Another attraction is ICE PALACE at the top which is must visit place at Jungfrau. 🧊🧊 Fact: it’s 3571 meters above sea level.

This is definitely the best part of Switzerland..been coming here yearly since 2022 and it never fails to mesmerize me everytime I come. This place is a must visit when you come to Switzerland, a piece of heaven on earth I would say. My chopper ride together with my better half was the best, flying and stopping on top and get the best pictures of swiss alps by myself was a one of a kind experience.
Lea R — Google review
I felt truly blessed to get a beautiful day as this. Jungfrau feels like a piece of paradise on earth. Immense credit goes to the railway builders who made it possible for us frail little mortals to enjoy a breathtaking, therapeutic journey that would otherwise be out of reach.
Yulan Z — Google review
Easily the best view of our switzerland trip. The air gets pretty thin up there though and we were a bit lightheaded, but it could've also been cause the view was breathtaking.

An incredible place above the clouds! Fun fact in 2015, the famous singer G.E.M. performed here! I wish I could see it.

I'm sure this would be breathtaking on a clear day, but note to take the weather forecast with some scepticism. A very expensive place to visit with no view.

A beautiful train ride and a gorgeous final destination. We had no trouble spending a whole day hiking, snacking at the restaurant, playing on the kids trail and at the playground!

By far one of the best trails I’ve ever seen! We did a combination of biking (2 hours) and hiking (1 hour), and the views from the top were absolutely stunning — the kind that make you truly appreciate life and nature. I even teared up a bit, just taking in how beautiful the world is and feeling grateful to witness it. We had a picnic at the shed on top, and it was such a wonderful experience. ✨🍃

Schynige Platte in Wilderswil, Switzerland from nearby Interlaken welcomes you with the sound of alphorns as you step off the cogwheel train, setting the mood for a clear alpine day. The air feels crisp, the short hikes are easy, and the views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau are everywhere you look. Wildflowers dot the trails, benches invite quiet breaks, and the crowd is refreshingly thin compared to other spots nearby. Nature feels close here, and it’s an easy escape if you want a classic Swiss alpine experience without heavy climbing. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the region.
Noel M — Google review
Takes around an hour to go up with the vintage train. But it's def worth it. So many options for hiking and you can see both lakes and the Eiger from the top. Don't forget to buy a ice cold Slushy after hiking - so refreshing!
Katrin C — Google review
Schynige Platte is one of the most breathtaking destinations in the Bernese Oberland and an absolute must-visit when in the Interlaken region. The journey up on the historic cogwheel train is a highlight in itself—slow, scenic, and full of charm, offering panoramic views of Lake Thun and the surrounding mountains. Once at the top, you're rewarded with truly stunning views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The landscape feels almost unreal, with alpine meadows, dramatic peaks, and traditional Swiss chalets dotting the area. The Botanical Alpine Garden is a quiet treasure, showcasing hundreds of native plants. It’s perfect for a relaxed stroll or simply enjoying the fresh mountain air. For hikers, there are several beautiful trails, including the Panorama Trail, which lives up to its name. Everything is well-marked and suitable for both casual walkers and more experienced hikers. There’s also a cozy mountain restaurant where you can enjoy local food with incredible views. Schynige Platte combines natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and traditional Swiss charm. Whether you go for hiking, photography, or just to take in the views, it’s a truly unforgettable experience.
Notyouravragedeler — Google review
Absolutely superb. This is a must visit and walk. It's traditional swiss at its best. The train up is delightful and from the station there are numerous walks; we did a 2.5 mile amble, via Daube and Oberberghorn. Word of warning: the viewpoint at Oberberghorn is up a step ladder and you can also get a view from a suspended walkway! The rest of the walk is far less scary! The views of Brienzersee are magnificent. Alongside the swiss meadowland and herd of cows complete with cowbells - absolutely delightful. The restaurant is good - there's a voucher in the Jungfrau Passport which gets you an apple strudel and coffee for a discounted price. The Alpen Garten is good although to be honest the natural wild meadows are far better. We were also fortunate to be there when a trio of swiss played their Alpen Horns, and an individual in the Alpen Garten gave some great solos. Definitely worth a visit.

Schynige Platte offers a scenic train journey from Wilderswil on an old train to the plateau in 52 minutes. The train allows you to open the windows, so you can take pictures of the views along the way. During the train ride, you will be treated to views of Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, and the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau. Do note that the train ride can be uncomfortable for people with back problems due to the lack of support and cushions.

I hiked from grutschalp to allmendhubel through the Mountain View trail. It is a nice hike with view of the Eiger. After 60 minutes uphill, I came to see a valley of wild flowers, outstanding!
Michael L — Google review
Allmendhubel is really great for families as there is a nice outdoor playground for kids and there's also a short flower trail that can be done in 20 mins. From Allmendhubel, it's about 1.5 hour walk down to Gimmelwald, which passes through Murren. I find this hike very scenic. But there wasn't a lot of trail markings at Allmendhubel except a general direction, so first timers may get a little confused. Maybe the yellow sign that says Wanderweg is the sign, but it should be clearer - saying Gimmelwald instead ? But anyway I found my way

A visit to Allmendhubel in Mürren is an unforgettable experience, meriting a full 5-star review! The panorama of majestic peaks from the summit is truly awe-inspiring. With well-marked hiking trails and a funicular ride, it's a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. For families, the interactive Flower Park is a standout feature, blending fun with nature's education. Coupled with a welcoming restaurant for a hearty mountain meal, Allmendhubel is a delightful destination that truly offers something for everyone.

On a whim, we jumped on a funky uphill train to Allmendhubel from Murren. It was the best idea of the day, maybe the week. We spent the afternoon on the Panorama Restaurant patio with outstanding Mountain Views, good food and fabulous service (Thank you, Dusan!). There’s an adorable and vibrant children’s “Flower Park” next to the patio so very kid friendly and fun to watch. Views, views views complete with milking cow guests. Highly recommend!!

Hike takes about an hour. Mostly a little uphill and at the end very rocky. Absolutely beautiful and out of this world views. The whole journey took us about 2 and a half hours with pictures and 2 stops along the way. Wear proper shoes and maybe a jacket because it does get windy a bit

Arriving before the crowds, the trail offered a rare sense of solitude and tranquility, with only the sound of nature to accompany the walk. The destination makes every step worthwhile. As you crest the final hill and the lake comes into view, you are greeted with one of the most breathtaking scenes in the entire region. The water of the lake is a stunning crystal-clear blue .

One of the most stunning lakes I have been! The walk takes about 1 hour or about 1 hour and 15 mins. It’s a long walk but simply worth it!

Visiting Bachalpsee is an experience you’ll never forget. Nestled high in the Bernese Alps near Grindelwald, this stunning mountain lake offers some of the most breathtaking views in Switzerland. The journey begins with a cable car ride to First, followed by a scenic hike that’s as rewarding as the destination itself. Along the way, you’ll pass through lush meadows, hear the gentle sound of cowbells, and enjoy panoramic vistas of snow-capped peaks. When you finally reach Bachalpsee, the sight is magical: crystal-clear waters reflecting the mighty mountains, including the iconic Wetterhorn and Schreckhorn. It’s the perfect spot to relax, take photos, or simply soak in the serenity of nature. The hike is moderate and suitable for most fitness levels, making it a great choice for families and solo travelers alike. What makes this experience unforgettable is the combination of fresh alpine air, stunning landscapes, and peaceful atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for adventure or tranquility, Bachalpsee delivers both. Bring a picnic, spend time by the lake, and don’t forget your camera—every angle is a postcard! Tip: Start early to avoid crowds and enjoy the calm morning light. Good hiking shoes and a light jacket are recommended, as weather can change quickly in the mountains.

Absolutely stunning spot, definitely worth the hike from First. Take a picnic and enjoy.

Bachalpsee in Grindelwald, Switzerland is worth the hike. Visited in June, took about an hour each way. The lake was calm and perfectly reflected the snowy peaks when we arrived. Clouds rolled in quickly on our way back, and we got caught in the rain just minutes before reaching the gondola. Buy tickets for First ahead to skip lines. No food at the lake, so bring snacks. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the region looking for a peaceful, crisp-air view that feels close enough to touch.

I visited this place during my 1 day trip to Switzerland. The hike from Grindelwald first is really beautiful. I visited in August and I could snow filled mountains around me. The hike to the lake is about 2.5 kms and usually takes 30-45 mins depending on your fitness level. It's easy to moderate hike and I have seens even kids and elderly people completing the hike. So definitely doable for most people. The view of the mountains over the lake is really amazing.

The Eiger, a majestic 3,967-meter mountain in the Swiss Alps, is a must-visit for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Nestled in the stunning Bernese Oberland region, it offers an array of summit routes tailored for seasoned climbers. For those who prefer to explore at a more leisurely pace, there are classic walking trails connecting charming alpine villages like Murren, Wengen, and Grindelwald.
Switzerland visit 🇨🇭 was a dream come true, our first Stop was Luzern, a well-preserved old town, with medieval architecture and the Lake Luzern a cobalt blue lake surrounded by snow-capped Alps. We stayed at a beautiful Inn called Swiss Dewa which was just opposite the Lake Luzern and near the Railway station. The view of the lake was just marvelous. We had planned a trip to Grindelwald a Glacier village at the Switzerland’s Bernese Alps, which is a popular gateway for the Jungfrau Region situated at the Peak of Europe, with skiing in winter and hiking in summer. It's also a base for mountain-climbing ascents up the iconic north face of Eiger Mountain. We had a choice on reaching the Grindelwald station to either stay back and sight see the Grindelwald village or go up to the Juangfraujoch the Peak of Europe. We took a train to the Juangfrau and from there by gondola to the Juangfraujoch the Peak of Europe marveling at the beautiful panoramic view of the Swiss Alps with the scattered of snow clad roofs and holiday makers out in the sun skiing or sledgeing in the snow. The 2nd day we decided to stop at the Grindelwald village for Sightseeing as this place offers a very wide variety of activities like a 3 D experience of Bunjee jumping wch was a thrill a minute experience of experiencing gliding across the Swiss Alps while actually only sitting on a seat with a 3 D glasses. We also trekked to the Grindelwald first on an iron bridge to the see and take pictures of the surrounding peaks and marvel at the panoramic views and also see the world famous Toblerone mountain, which was just Epic. There was a stop in between traveling by bus to Grindelwald , a beautiful valley called Interlaken is known as the adventure capital of Switzerland. Activities like bungee jumping, canyoning, and skydiving attract thrill-seekers from all over the world.

Visiting the Eiger is truly one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences that stays with you forever. Towering majestically above Grindelwald, the Eiger is not just a mountain it’s a symbol of raw natural beauty and human determination. The views are absolutely beyond spectacular. Whether you see it from the valley below or take the train up toward Jungfraujoch, every angle reveals a new level of awe. The scenery is jaw-dropping: deep green valleys, dramatic cliffs, snow-capped peaks, and crystal-clear air that makes every photo look like a postcard. On a clear day, you can see the famous North Face glistening in the sunlight an iconic sight for mountaineers and travelers alike. If you enjoy hiking, this is heaven. The trails around Grindelwald and Kleine Scheidegg are incredibly well maintained, offering routes for all levels, from easy scenic walks to challenging alpine climbs. The Eiger Trail, in particular, lets you get right beneath the imposing North Face and feel its powerful presence. Every step comes with views so stunning you’ll want to stop just to take it all in. The area is also beautifully organized for visitors, with clean facilities, cozy mountain huts, cable cars, and panoramic trains that make access easy and comfortable. Even if you’re not into hiking, just taking the train ride up through the Alps or enjoying a hot chocolate with the Eiger in view feels magical. It’s not just a destination, it’s an experience that blends peace, power, and the wonder of nature. Standing there, you can’t help but feel humbled by its grandeur. If you’re anywhere near Switzerland, do not miss Grindelwald and the mighty Eiger. It’s truly one of the most magnificent places on Earth.

Aareschlucht is a stunning limestone river gorge in the central Swiss region, with a depth of 200 meters. The milky blue stream is formed by snow-capped mountain meltwater and features small waterfalls. Visitors can explore the network of public walkways and tunnels, taking in the breathtaking natural beauty. Driving through the tunnels into the valley offers astounding views of lush greenery, well-maintained towns, and the majestic Swiss Alps.
One of the most striking places I’ve visited in Switzerland. The raw beauty of the cliffs, the turquoise Aare river, and the sheer force of nature make this an unforgettable experience. We visited on a weekend and got in without any waiting – no need to book tickets in advance. The trail is not difficult, even kids can handle it. Just wear proper shoes, as some parts can be slippery due to the mist. If you’re looking for a place where nature still demands respect, this is it. 📍 Easy parking nearby. 🚶‍♀️ Great for a peaceful walk or slow exploration. 📸 And perfect for lovers of photography and dramatic landscapes.

Beautiful stroll through an impressive gorgeous. Worth the entry fee as it is used for upkeep of the board walk. Really spectacular and worth a visit. Understand it can get busy which would diminish the visit, so pick your time I guess. Parking available.
Chris L — Google review
Even on a cold and windy day the gorge was impressive. Leaves were swirling and if felt like the wind would push us back at times but we continued on along the edge of the gorge. Perhaps because of the weather and the last time of day there were few other visitors, which was nice as it offered the opportunity for photos without strangers in view. The moves in and out of the tunnels made the walk a little more interesting, and the placards designed for the children were also a good distraction for them. We opted for the train return due to the late hour, which was an interesting experience in itself. The station hardly seemed like a place to wait for a train. Staff at both ends were very nice and helpful. While other reviewers say this isn't as impressive as other gorges around the Alps, I disagree, I very much enjoyed the 45 minute walk and would recommend it to friends. We did not really spend much time checking out the shops, restaurant, or at the playground, but they are there for additional services. Free parking was also available at both ends but the the west entrance had significantly more space. Side note: You can buy a combo ticket on the Zentral Bahn trains while on the way to the entrance to cover the train and the gorge. The ticket we bought at the gorge also covered our return on the train.

This was such an awesome place to visit when in Hasli Valley in Bernese Oberland. It truly is a natural wonder, and no picture will really show the true beauty you will see in person. What's great about the Aares Gorge is that it can be visited rain or shine. You'll get a different perspective depending on the weather. Give yourself plenty of time here. It's about a mile walk (45-60 minutes) along the limestone gorge and through the tunnels. It's truly a unique experience that deserves a special trip. I've never seen anything quite like it. It really shows you the torrential power of glaciel water as it carves its way over time through the valley. There are 2 entrances with parking lots. We started at the west entrance and exited at the east side. There was so much to see in between (including a waterfall). There is also a view of cave entrances from the pathway that were built to house the military during WWII. Fortunately, they never had to use it. There are interesting facts displayed along the way. It's pretty much an easy walk until you get to the east side. There is more of an incline on your way up as well as some steps up the hill. Just plan your entrance accordingly if you have limited mobility. It worked out very well for us. We were rewarded with a beautiful view of the Alps when exiting at the east side. Our guide met us in the parking lot. You can return by train to your initial starting point as well. We loved this experience so much!! There's so much to do here in the Canton of Bern. Make it a part of your trip when in Switzerland.

Definetly worth a visit if you are in the area, a pleasant walk at a cool place. The entrance fee I would say is quite cheap compared to other places in the Junfrau region. It also includes the train ride back which was convenient. You do need to press the stop button on the train if you want to get of at the Aareschlucht station.

Im very lucky to see the mini waterfalls with the magical rainbow 🌈 on it. It's absolutely amazing!! Be sure to come between 9am-12pm if the weather was good and u will see the magical rainbow on the left side of that mini waterfall. The sunlight rays is the reason why that rainbow appearance on that waterfall comes out . If u travel by car make sure to come early the parking is way more spaces if arrived earlier first come first serve. There is 2 parking space area the west point is more on the top if im not mistaken. The walkway is walkable by kids nothing to worried with.

Nestled high above the charming village of Murren, Schilthorn is a must-visit destination for any traveler seeking breathtaking views and thrilling experiences. The journey to the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant begins at Stechelberg, with a scenic cable car ride that takes you through Gimmelwald and Murren.
Super Alpine experience having an all you can eat brunch at almost 3000 m above sea level. Very nice and kind staff. The menu before 11 is mostly for breakfast and at 11 they start serving the main course. I recommend coming at 10 or 1030 to get the best of both worlds. The sausage, bacon, cold cuts, and cheese were all good. Also love the super complete beverage section. The sparkling wine is also free flow, so help yourself. You can book this experience through their website for around 120 CHF you get both the brunch and return trip. Where you can stop by the two stations in between for a quick break.

The restaurant impressed me with its beautiful view – it’s really something special. Just a heads-up: the whole place slowly rotates, so people who are sensitive might feel a bit dizzy. The food was excellent and they changed it often, so there was always something new to try. A great experience overall!

A definite must-visit for the magnificent views of the Alps while enjoying brunch! The meals were surprisingly good. The meats and cheeses paired perfectly with the soft bread, and the coffee was great too. I felt a bit dizzy at first from the rotating dining area but got used to it after a few minutes. Although it’s a bit pricey, it’s definitely worth it for the experience.
BA — Google review
The floor actually rotates as you eat so you get a full 360 view of the surrounding range. The food up here is expensive. I had the spaghetti Bolognese (delicious) with a soup buffet that really wasn’t a buffet I quickly learned. Buffet must have some different meaning between the US and Switzerland because I got two cups of soup from the buffet and got charged for both. I didn’t fight them because it was probably my fault. Just be aware of that. The rotating platform was super cool! We calculated that it rotated at about 1 revolution per 45 minutes so it’s super slow. No motion sickness at all. Unfortunately during the time we were here there was a ton of construction going on which hindered the view. But overall it was a cool experience and the food was great. Apparently a movie was filmed up here and they have an entire museum dedicated to it.

Just visited last month in August, we had a really good experience and enjoyed the views when the restaurant rotated around. We arrived around 11.30 am. At first we had to sit together with the other group a bit far from the window and we never mind due to we didn't reservation. but as soon as there is a seat available close by the window. The staff came to us and helped us to move to the new table close to the window so we could enjoy the views of the mountain.

They have ala carte and buffet style options. If youre a big eater, go for the buffet option. The choices are plenty. There are hot food options as well as cold dishes. Plus you get everything else such as toast/deserts/coffee/tea. If I recall correctly was close to 40chf per pax?

We had a wonderful experience at Piz Gloria in Schilthorn! We arrived around 11am and were able to get a table before the crowd, which was perfect. They offer both buffet and à la carte options—we went with à la carte and really enjoyed both the food and the dessert. My phone was busy recording a timelapse of the amazing 360° revolving view, so the only photo I managed to take was of the dessert! 😊 Our server was very nice and attentive, which made the experience even better. Definitely worth a visit!

Visited on a heavily overcast day, so I couldn't fully enjoy the 360° rotating view due to poor visibility especially with the ongoing construction outside. The staff wasn't particularly welcoming. I ordered a dessert and a glass of wine. Didn't stay long.

The site also features a museum for further exploration. A visit to St.
Very nice cave, about 2 km long. Great place for visit. My tips: 1) Because there is cold inside, better to bring a jacket, no matter how hot it is outside. 2) The best way to arrive at 10:00 by car or by bus, because there are very few parking spots available and less people will be inside. 3) Leave your bag and huge things in the car, because before entering to the cave there are a 1 km upstairs.

Very nice caves, about 1km long after the entrance. It's always cold inside, so remember to bring a jacket, no matter how hot it is outside. The best way to arrive is by bus, because there are very few parking spots available and it's a much longer way up from the boat. But well worth the visit.

Amazing experience. Nice and cool inside the cave. It goes very deep into the mountain. If you are tall, you’ll need to stoop a little through many sections. Food is pretty pricey, but that’s everywhere in Switzerland really. A 500ml bottle of still water was 5 CHF.

That’s cave is a great experience and worth one visit. This can be an educational also for kids. There are various spots in the cave that provide information about the history and science behind the cave and different types of lime residue formation. This can be a great experience for kids. Reaching this place is also convenient but with lesser bus frequency. If you are traveling by car, they have limited space for parking and they charge flat 8 CHF (as of Oct 2025). You can either pay the parking by card, cash or use EasyPark app.
Sudesh S — Google review
It's quite a steep climb to the entrance, not suitable for people with elderly or people who aren't physically in good shape. The views from top are amazing at sunset. If you're into caves then it's a nice one time visit.
Monideep G — Google review
Amazing natural place! Walk up is steep, walk briefly. Enjoy your own pace and have a break at the cafe before viewing the scenic beautiful cave and sound of the water was incredible. You can go into a small museum and shop after too.
Jamil B — Google review
I’ve been to quite a few cave systems throughout Thailand, Laos, and even Fiji and this was definitely the best I’ve ever been to! It was only a short 1 mile walk from the bottom of the hill throughout the entire caves and then back down the hill. The caves system is very impressive, but the waterfals are obviously what makes this a must visit in my opinion. I went on a rainy day and the temperature inside was perfect, I didn’t even need to wear my coat.

Schloss Spiez might have been my favorite castle we visited in Switzerland. The views from inside the castle tower looking out over the church and mountains and lake are absolutely magical! We were there on a bright sunny day with the sparkling blue water full of sailboats and parasails. It was so beautiful you had to pinch yourself to make sure you weren’t dreaming. I would not miss seeing this castle. It’s a little off the beaten path, and those are the places I love the most. It’s full of history and intrigue. You can even try on period clothing and knight’s armor, and try out a bed the servants would have used. We did not get to tour the church, as there was a wedding in progress. Which was also incredible to watch the guests in their finery walking from the castle to the church.

Our group tasted the white wine from their own winery with some crunchy snacks. There was a wedding going on in the church and grounds while we were there.

So totally super cool. The grounds themselves are very beautiful, so be sure to walk around as much as you can. And then, you pop into the museum expecting yet another dreary collection of boring artifacts, but NOT here. The layout and information provided is extremely interesting. Each display area has been well thought out, with detailed descriptions of the history and lifestyles of the inhabitants over the centuries. And the climb to the top has several cool surprises for all ages -- although the upper floors aren't for the timid.

This place is pretty cool. The line to get in was fairly long and took about 25 minutes, but that was in the middle of the day, on a weekend. Coming during the weekdays and especially right when they open would be wise. The falls are magnificent. It's impressive to watch their raw, natural power and see how they have carved through the rock over the centuries. I definitely recommend coming to see this beautiful natural wonder!

A breathtaking waterfall, truly worth visiting! It’s an activity you can easily do alone, with family, or with friends. However, it is a bit physical – there are some stairs to climb, so it might be a little challenging for those who have difficulty standing for long. The waterfall is fed by melted glacier water, which makes it absolutely stunning.
Merve I — Google review
Well worth visiting (late May)! Waterfall was strong and so many stunning angles to see. The funicular up was quick. Some places were wet inside and could be slippery. The upper levels have a fair amount of stairs, so be aware if you have mobility issues. Line was not long mid morning but it had gotten longer by the time we were leaving. Wasn't crowded inside and was able to get lots of pics and video.

Hidden inside the mountain, Trümmelbachfälle is truly one of nature’s most powerful creations. The sound of rushing glacier water echoing through the tunnels is both breathtaking and humbling. The walkway system is well built and safe, letting you get close to the falls without feeling unsafe. It’s a bit chilly and damp inside, so bring a jacket and non-slip shoes. Entrance fee is reasonable, and the experience is absolutely worth it — unlike anything I’ve seen before. A must-visit in Lauterbrunnen!
Enrico A — Google review
Restaurant has a great terrace, but it was closed when I went. Trümmelbach Falls are a series of ten glacial waterfalls inside the cliffs of Lauterbrunnen Valley, with a total drop of 140 meters. They are entirely enclosed within the mountain, making them the largest subterranean waterfalls in Europe.
Kent W — Google review
Long queue to get in, around 20min. 16 CHF per person (including discount). Walking or elevator option to level 6. Superb cave views of the waterfall throughout. Many steps and water spraying so be wrapped up.
Darren B — Google review
Just Gorgeous! We'll worth the wait. Just be ready to be hit with a blast of cold even in the summer. It is about 45 minutes after you get in the tram and depending on how much or little climbing you wish to do could be over an hour. Magnificent!
Brad P — Google review
This is definitely a first to see mountain water flowing through hundred meters in a cave with different sounds at different turns and feeling the vibration. It is a thrill. Had done water rafting in a cave in New Zealand, but this is water coming down from the mountain and dropping hundreds more meters in cave chambers. The temperature got cooler and cooler going up. There are two options to get to the middle of the cave - lift or walk. It is slippery in the cave - wear shoes with traction for safety.

Nestled in the breathtaking Bernese Alps, Piz Gloria stands at an impressive 2,970 meters and is accessible via a scenic cable car ride. This iconic location features a rotating restaurant that offers diners stunning panoramic views of over 200 mountain peaks while they savor delicious dishes inspired by the legendary James Bond films. Guests can indulge in unique menu items like the famous 007 burger or opt for a lavish brunch buffet filled with diverse options ranging from pancakes to Swiss specialties.
The ride up to this mountaintop restaurant – opened in 1969 as the world’s first revolving restaurant – is an adventure in itself. A 4-stage cable car ride (soon to become 3-stages when the world’s steepest cable way opens in March 2025) takes around half an hour and offers impressive views of the valley floor, it’s steep cliffs and waterfalls, which open up to breathtaking Alpine peaks the higher you climb. The ‘all-you-can-eat’ buffet looks impressive and offers great value, but I prefer a simple platter of cold cuts and cheese with some excellent bread and a bottle of my favourite Swiss white wine, Heida. Even on an over cast day, as it was last time I visited, the view is impressive and the whole experience memorable. It’s worth visiting Bond World after lunch, as the 1969 James Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was filmed here and the exhibition offers fascinating insights into that.

We went on the first gondola ride up the mountain at 7:30 a.m. and so glad we did because it got very crowded later. The fog burned off and we had a beautiful view of everything. We did not have a reservation but got a table in the revolving restaurant by the window for the first hour and a light breakfast coffee orange juice and bread and jam. Overall a wonderful visit. No need to buy tickets in advance if you go early.
Laurie S — Google review
The opportunity for a view here is fantastic. The museum is very underwhelming and I wouldn't recommend no matter how big of a 007 fan you are. The restaurant was very very expensive and nothing special. Unfortunately we had clouds roll in almost immediately so we didn't have a view in the rotating restaurant but it cleared up a bit and we did the thrill walk. Very touristy and crowded.
Ashley G — Google review
This is the revolving restaurant at the top of Shilthorn, name comes from Ian Flemming's novel (and film), On Her Majesty's Secret Service. View is spectacular, if nature is cooperating. We had drinks only and went in the afternoon, as the restaurant is closed between dinner and lunch. Most all view tables had been "Reserved" with signs.
Pamela P — Google review
We had mixed feelings about how experience to and at Piz Gloria. Major construction is currently in progress at the site with a large crane and construction materials and working being loaded onto the gondolas that transport you there. The Bond museum is a nice touch, but the brunch is not hold its value. The views of course are the main attraction on the rotating restaurant and they are spectacular!
Vincent H — Google review
Stunningly beautiful, I was fortunate to have the sun blazing away. Well worth the trip to get there
Daniel C — Google review
The revolving restaurant is great. The view of alps in amazing. However, after visiting titlis and pilatus, there is nothing new to do here. The views are same and tickets are damn expensive. Also for a restaurant, dining options are limited. Had much more expectations.
Kushagra G — Google review
This is one of the must visit mountain tops on your trip to Switzerland, if you are a James Bond fan. Views from here are spectacular. There is a revolving restaurant too. When we visited in early October, it was foggy and cold and also drizzling. But we still enjoyed the views, Visited James Bond museum which has bond movie artifacts. Even the restrooms are interesting!

The Eiger Trail is a stunning hiking path in Switzerland that offers unparalleled views of the imposing north face of the Eiger. The trail provides incredible close-up views of the Eiger wall, as well as picturesque vistas of the Grindelwald valley, waterfalls, and small canyons. This moderate-level hike is suitable for anyone with basic fitness and takes hikers through rocky terrain under the shadow of the Eiger's north face.
The trail is not exposed or dangerous bet definitely rewarding. It's more towards easy than medium difficulty. If I would have had more time I would have added a further section as it felt a bit too short for me personally (I did Eigergletscher-Alpiglen).
Baiba G — Google review
Fantastic, get the cable car up to eigergleitscher and return from alpinglen and with half pass is only 25chf. The trail is pretty tough on the knees and joints with the steeper down hill sections at the end, but with the altitude coming up the other way would be a tough ask. Some lovely views out over the valley as you come down.
Russell K — Google review
Our first hike in Switzerland was the Eiger Trail, and it was such a memorable experience! We went in the 2nd week of July and although the weather was so-so (spitting rain on and off), the views were still amazing. The trail itself is long but easy to manage, mostly going downhill without being too steep. Along the way, there are plenty of viewpoints to stop and take in the scenery, and we even came across cows walking freely which made the hike extra special. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch a glimpse of the Eiger peak during your hike—such a breathtaking sight! Highly recommend this trail for a scenic and enjoyable hike.
Erica D — Google review
The Eiger Trail runs right beneath the famous north face of the Eiger — one of the most spectacular day hikes in Switzerland. Sure-footedness is a must, as the path crosses several waterfalls and rocky sections, but the route is well marked and safe for anyone used to alpine terrain. The views are unreal: glaciers, cliffs, and valley panoramas the whole way. Best done from Eigergletscher down to Alpiglen. Proper hiking shoes required - sneakers will not cut it here.
EzADivat — Google review
Beautiful trail at the foot of the Eiger north face. You can start at Alpiglen railway station and hike up to Eigergletscher. To make a round hike go to Kleine Scheidegg and follow the lower path back to Alpiglen. Amazing views.

I love this trail so much, I want to go back just to do it again! Truly incredible. Love how the weather changes along the route, too. A magical place.

Amazing experience The rail itself is a bit scary but it worth to ride it.You can see stunning view. After the train ride, you can enjoy 2hour hikes. Since the train is limited, it is less crowded in the hiking area.

The views during the hike and the funicular ride were breathtaking. Nature was in full display. We saw beautiful green mountains, sparkling lakes that reflected the clear sky, and we could hear distant waterfalls. This made the experience magical. Even though we had to wait a little for the funicular, it didn’t matter because the scenery was too lovely to mind the delay. The Golmersee hike tested our stamina. The paths were twisty and rocky, challenging us at every step. But for those who took on the challenge, it was worth it. Each step brought us closer to amazing views and hidden natural spots, giving us a rewarding sense of achievement. There is a small shop to buy tickets, snacks, and drinks. The toilets are clean too.

We thoroughly enjoyed this ride. The views are spectacular. Be sure to book your ticket in advance and arrive early, as you will need to show your reservation to obtain your ticket. Dogs are allowed, so don't be scared to take them :)
Olena K — Google review
Overall, this one’s pretty cool and definitely worth a stop if you’re passing by. The near-vertical 90° up-and-down ride feels like a roller coaster — pure thrill. At the top you can hike around the lake (half or full loop), though when I went the water level was low so it didn’t look its best. Still, the 270° mountain views up there made up for it, even if the snow was a bit thin. Good to know: you don’t have to stick strictly to the time printed on your ticket. If there are empty seats, just let the staff know and they’ll usually let you hop on earlier. The downside: roadwork near the parking area made driving/parking a hassle, and construction of a new viewing platform at the top meant some extra noise.

We rode the Gelmerbahn on the last day of the season in october and the views over the mountain with all the autumn colors were such a memorable experience. It did challenge our respect for hights but we felt very safe. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Amazing suspension bridge You can hike from the parking lot or take the gondola - Gondola definitely book in advance not many places are available - Hike from gondola is still a smoderate 1.5h hiking train!
Judit S — Google review
The hike from the parking area to the bridge takes around 3 hours. Some reviews mention 1.5 hours, but those are likely from experienced hikers. If you’re not used to hiking, I highly recommend taking the cable train. The bridge itself is absolutely amazing!
Leonardo L — Google review
A place of strength. Personally, for me, the main thing is the view of the lake and the glacier, not the bridge. For hiking enthusiasts, I recommend going up without a lift, there are two ways up, T2 and T3
Kostiantyn S — Google review
I went out from parking and it took me about 2,5 hours to get this bridge. There is a possibility of taking cable car, but I didn’t use it. It’s definitely the biggest “hike” bridge I’ve ever been on. The combination with a lake and glaciers around is unbelievable magnificent. There are some another trail which can be walked up, but if you’re planning to go to Trifthütte, you have to change your plans. Because the trail is closed approximately until 2027. I will come back, it was one of the best view I’ve seen.
Jakub “ — Google review
Amazing view of valley all the way from the cable car to the bridge. And spectacular view of the bridge and lake, and what left from glacier. Sadly, but glacier almost gone. Directions says you need 1h30min to get to the bridge. For me it took ~55 minutes to reach the bridge. But I was taking a lot of pictures on the way there. The trail is about 3km long, but you need to climb ~350m up. So it depends on your fitness how long it takes.
Vilmis S — Google review
I loved this place! If you decide to go in little rain, there are several people on the track, and the view is amazing with the mist and clouds stucked on the mountain. I enjoyed nearness to sheeps (watch carefully where you step! ;D). The bridge itself is quite long. During a walk, you feel every step of other people - it's not stiff. Actually, it's a good spot to experience with your body different effects of phenomenom of wave interference (physics in real life). The track itself is not super easy, I wouldn't advise it for kids or people who don't exercise at all. Sometimes, there are big steps to take or secure yourself with hands, you have to cross a small waterfall, etc.
Dorota J — Google review
This hike is starting with steep elevation. Requires good fitness or walk slowly catching your breath. For morst fit people you can make an additional round by the bridge there you got to hold on the chains. Only in good weather conditions.

It also houses a museum showcasing Bernese culture and includes a smoking parlor. Accessible by bus or ferry, the castle's exterior is quite photogenic, making it a popular spot for sightseers.
It is such a spectacular place to learn about the culture and peopled who lived within that castle ( owners and servants, etc). Located right on lake Thun. We were debating which castle that we should go amongst the 5 in the area, however, we were glad that we chose this. 5 flight of stairs with 2 sets -one for the servant and one for the owner that decorated with the red carpet. There is a beautiful garden and some what modern after countless times of renovation. There is information in each room that take the visitor back in time. There is also a hidden room that recites the background of this places - this room connects to the first dinning hall - next to the kitchen. It is easy to miss. Don't forget to visit the smoke room since the owner selectively had it in an Arabic style . I went to many castles but so far this is the best since it is so detail-oriented and the staff are super helpful. This won't cover in the swiss pass but if you have the visitor pass then you would get some discount. Plenty of parking lot available if you travel by car.

This is an unexpected gem hidden fees steps away from the main touristy paths of Thun. I knew about this place before coming to Thun, but didn't expect much: it's just an old panorama, what can be exciting about it? But there are things, which made the visit not just worthwhile, but a true highlight of our Thun short November trip. First, it is a truly amazing and elaborate piece of artwork, preserved in a great condition. It is not a huge museum or an exhibition of hundreds of pieces of art, but just the right size attraction with precisely calculated exposition for the best experience of visitors. It takes from 15 to 60 minutes to see the most of the panorama and learn near details about it, as well as to see the temporary exhibition. That is the perfect time frame for both visitors with kids or otherwise impatient group members, especially considering extra activities offered at the ground level of panorama. And there is a small Café at the reception desk, that offers a perfect selection of drinks and food for a short break (not only, but that was my only experience). I highly suggest coming here during "not-so-high" season to avoid crowds. The feel of this museum is completely different with and without other visitors around. We were lucky to enter an almost empty museum, so the first 15 minutes were immersive and unforgettable. Later there were other visitors with kids, which wasn't a bad by any mean, but a completely different feeling.

Beautiful falls even on a rainy day! Nice hotel with restaurant, great views of the lake, waterfall, and surrounding nature park. Can make it a loop hike going a different path each direction or take the funicular up to the hotel/falls bottom. No tickets needed if walking both ways!

First of all, I must say that it's not just a hotel. It's a resort where locals & tourists can visit for hiking and beautiful views of Giessbach falls and Lake Brienz. I love the fact that the trail leads you directly behind the waterfall. It's so cool & refreshing up there. It's totally worth visiting on a sunny or rainy day. There's a café on the terrace, as well as an indoor lounge with a restaurant. Many people were on the terrace enjoying a snack while viewing the waterfall and lake. We walked around the historical rooms and lounge of the hotel. It truly is a step back into the late 19th century. It was also cool to see the Giessbach funicular car traveling up the track from Lake Brienz. It's the oldest abt switch railway design dating back to 1879. Neat! I'd say it's worth a visit for the Nature Park. There are so many different trails that lead you to Iseltwald, Schweibenalp, Axalp, Brienz, and Bramisegg from the park. It's such a scenic drive up there as well. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be when viewing it all from a ferry on Lake Brienz. We enjoyed our visit here. It was peaceful & relaxing.

Beautiful nature and stunning views! I’ve been here 2 times, it is one of the most impressive places I’ve visited in Switzerland. The hike up is not too difficult and totally worth it. You can walk behind the waterfall through a rock tunnel such a unique experience! The view of Lake Brienz from above is just breathtaking. Plus, the Grandhotel Giessbach at the bottom of the trail adds a historic charm to the whole visit. Highly recommended for a half-day trip or nature walk!

Giessbach Waterfall is a must-see near Lake Brienz. From the Grandhotel Giessbach, a short 20-minute circular trail takes you to the falls, including a path that lets you walk behind the cascading water—a unique and refreshing experience. The trail is well-marked and gentle, making it accessible for most visitors. The historic hotel adds charm to the area, and the views of the turquoise lake are stunning. It’s a peaceful spot, perfect for a nature-filled break.

We had read about the waterfalls, but didn’t expect much. We decided to stop by after lunch since it was on our way – and it turned out to be the perfect spot. You can walk behind the waterfall, cross it at 4–5 different points, and eventually follow the path all the way down to Lake Brienz, where the waterfall flows into the lake. The waterfall is beautiful, as is the entire natural setting – plus, there’s a castle nearby. ❤️

Guests rave about the delicious food served at the restaurant, particularly highlighting the garlic bread and rosti. The staff members are described as friendly and accommodating, contributing to the warm and familial atmosphere of this remote retreat.
We stopped to eat here during our hike and it was probably the highlight of our entire trip to Europe. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was amazing. Excellent schnitzel and tomato soup. May have been some of the best fries I’ve ever had as well. The beers were super refreshing and the views were out of this world! My wife had the penache (beer mixed with sprite) and loved it. The prices here are also quite reasonable for Switzerland. And especially good given the quality and atmosphere. If you plan on hiking in the area I’d highly recommend stopping here.

Always a great place to stop for lunch in the winter season. In my opinion they do the best Rösti in Mürren. Always have the Rösti with 2 eggs and ham. (For me the eggs needs to be flipped and cooked both sides)

The best mountain hut experience in the area. Sometimes it's hard to get a table and service can be extremely slow, but just look around and you'll get over it.

We stopped here on the walk from Allmendhubel down to Murren. The views were breathtaking, the staff warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious! My husband and I had incredible rosti, our 4 year old ate an entire giant salami sandwich with a grin on his face, and our 7 year old had this to say about her ham and cheese toast: “That food was so good… While I was eating it, I felt like chocolate was just plain.” We are already planning our return!

📍 Pension Suppenalp – Mürren, Bernese Oberland, Switzerland 🇨🇭 We hiked from Allmendhubel down toward Gimmelwald and passed by this mountain restaurant. 🥾 Unfortunately it was closed during our visit, but the setting was beautiful with lots of cows 🐄 grazing all around. The location is peaceful, with stunning alpine views 🌄, and it looks like a perfect place to stop when open. Even without dining, walking past here was a highlight of the trail. 🙌

Potentially the best garlic bread I've ever had (definitely the best so far in Switzerland), and served with a side of beautiful view! Excellent stop along the Northface trail- I'm looking forward to returning and staying at their lodging.

Unfortunately the amazing views and cosy atmosphere weren’t enough to counter act the extreme arrogance and rudeness of the male manager with absolutely no understanding of customer service or hospitality. Choose a different place! 😡

Hünegg Castle, located on the shores of Lake Thun, is a hidden gem among the castles in the area. Built in the late 1800s, this fairytale-like castle boasts elegant interiors and is surrounded by a picturesque 6-hectare park overlooking Lake Thun and the Alps. While it houses a Renaissance Revival and Art Nouveau Museum, visitors can also enjoy exploring its lovely grounds.
The castle itself was closed so we only got a chance to stroll on its park, which was really nice and quiet. There are many different paths that you can walk and you can get at the castle without doing any stairs (it's simply the longest way). You get to see some birds and even some kangaroos. There's also a playground for children on one side.

Next castle after Schloss Oberhofen. Had a good time inside the museum. Took some outdoor shots even when the sky was gloomy, still looked amazing. Lake Thun is 😍

We had a lovely guided tour through the Schloss. What a history and beautifully decorated rooms. Besides fro the wonderful gardens the views of the Thunersee and mountains is fantastic!

One of the best Swiss castles I've visited. Opening hours are a bit spectacular, from two to five, I had to adjust my schedule a lot because of that, but it was worth it. The museum inside is wonderful. For all castle lovers, this stop is a must have. Very nice and lady by the cash desk.

Very nice 19th century castle in a great condition with plenty of original furniture. One of the best household museums I've ever seen. Not too small, not too large either. Takes around 1-1.5 h to carefully see everything on the self-guides tour.

This castle looks well and would be a solid item in anyone's collection of Castles. It is not really a castle by my standards though, since it has neither a moat, nor a defensive wall or other defensive construction. This castle is purely decorative and counts more as a villa or a mansion functionally (or a small palace, if you like). Yet it is undeniably beautiful and has a lot of character. I found it to be a nice spot to visit and spend 15-45 minutes walking around it.

Open from late spring to early autumn, it also offers hiking trails with stunning views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains.

The view from the Schinige Platte up to the Alps is panoramic. The hike to First offers the best views, but it is not easy as you walk on a rocky path for 5-6 hours. It is a difficult course with many steep climbs. The route from First to Schinige Platte is relatively easy as it is downhill.

📍 Botanischer Alpengarten Schynige Platte – Bernese Oberland, Switzerland 🇨🇭 A beautiful alpine botanical garden 🌸🌼 showcasing more than 600 species of Swiss mountain plants. Informative signs explain each plant 🌿, and the setting—surrounded by views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau—is unforgettable 🌄. A visit at the Schynigge Platte during autumn is quite worthwhile. First the ride up with the old train, second the stay in the hotel with a 4 course dinner menu, third the rooms with the unforgettable views and last but not least, the walking trails that lets one glimpse at the majestic Monch, Tiger, Jungfraujoch on the other side. It is a walk above the clouds, in the evening, the stars seems to be greeting you. Simple, scenic, beautiful things.

On a sunny day, you are going to die of delight and wonder for the beauty all around. On a cloudy, slightly rainy day, you might survive with a light heart attack. The views are that breathtaking. Flowers all around, cliffs and valleys, the two massive lakes, and a hike that is only occasionally strenuous. Wear good hiking shoes and solid comfy socks. We took 400 photos, you might take more.

Jungfraujoch, often referred to as the 'Top of Europe,' is a popular destination in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. Accessible from Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen, it involves a scenic journey on cable cars and cogwheel railways to reach the tourist complex at an altitude of 3571m above sea level.
One of the most brautiful and amazing place you could ever visit. If you live in Europe or visiting 1st time.. it should definitely be in your list. Did my solo in europe and it was one of the biggest highlight of my trip. Loved the whole train, Gandola, walking, ice palace movie and top of the mountain :) would definitely go again !

Dream destination for every hiker, explorer and adventurer. You can also get there by train, cable car which gives you access to stunning views on the way. Jungfraujoch is a brilliantly organized alpine destination. The Eiger Express makes the ascent fast and smooth, and the entire complex including tunnels and elevators. Wide walkways is designed for effortless access. The blend of historic railway engineering with a modern visitor center is world class. Don’t miss the Lindt Swiss Chocolate Heaven outlet, the highest in the world, with great gifts and exhibit. For sit-down dining, book the Crystal restaurant in advance. The hot chocolate is outstanding, and even the chocolate ice cream is a delightful surprise. A magnificent, seamless experience overall.

A true highlight of any tourist’s first trip to Switzerland. Very well run and maintained, worth the high prices for the quality of infra provided. The hike to the glacier is also really nice and a good experience for people new to snow.

A great half day. The Gondola ride is picturesque. Even though it was cloudy when I left in the morning you pop up over the clouds after a few minutes. Stunning views of the mountains, tigers, etc. Clouds had lifted for the ride down and had stunning violets of Grindewald. On top of the mountain is fun. I went solo as a 55 year old and enjoyed the views and Discovery circle. They say to plot 3.5 hours plus. I did everything I wanted to in 1.5 hours. If I had a sit down meal I could have stayed a little longer. Ir if I had younger kids it would take longer. Still about a 4 hour trip. It's not cheap. Not sure if I would have done it without a discount with my Eurail pass or if Inhad all 4 family members. If budget is no concern do not hesitate. Transportation and facilities all clean and plenty of bathrooms. Glad I went.

Visiting Jungfraujoch was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Nestled high in the Swiss Alps, this breathtaking destination offers panoramic views that are nothing short of magical. From the moment I boarded the cogwheel train in Grindelwald, the journey itself felt like a scenic dream—snow-capped peaks, charming alpine villages, and dramatic cliffs all around. Despite the altitude, the facilities were excellent: warm cafés, informative exhibits, and friendly staff made the experience comfortable and enriching. It’s a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it for the views and the unforgettable atmosphere. Whether you're a nature lover, a photographer, or just looking to experience the majesty of the Alps, Jungfraujoch is a must-visit. I left with a heart full of awe and a camera full of memories. it can get quite crowded on weekends, especially during peak seasons. If you prefer a quieter experience, consider visiting on a weekday. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The ride features individual chairs that let you glide from First to Schreckfeld, offering breathtaking views of the majestic Swiss Alps along the way.

Our experience was absolutely amazing! We discovered that the tickets sold out by 5 PM, and we were the last four tickets sold. The highlight of our trip to Grindelwald was undoubtedly the breathtaking journey. The ride up was a thrilling adventure, slightly nerve-wracking but the descent felt much more manageable and enjoyable. The views were simply stunning, especially with the backdrop of the Swiss Alps. The entire experience was unforgettable. The staff members were exceptionally friendly, making us feel welcomed and safe throughout our adventure. We felt secure at every moment, which allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience. It was truly awesome!

Great activity, but you'll want to try get up the mountain early and do as first activity otherwise it's a long queue.
Brad G — Google review
This was really fun. I do recommend getting there when they first open. The line can get pretty long. We arrived about 9:30AM and we had to wait about 30 minutes. You take the gondolas up to First, then you have to walk down slightly to the raised platform. There was a line for the ride, and they were doing 2 ziplines at a time. They had two guys to help you into the harness. The ride only last a minute or two, but you can go pretty fast.
Glen H — Google review
Visiting this destination in Switzerland ranks among the most delightful experiences one can have. It's a place where you can truly immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring mountain vistas, take leisurely strolls along the mountainside bridge, and, of course, capture memorable photographs with the majestic Swiss Alps as your backdrop. However, it's important to note that this location tends to be quite crowded, and you'll likely find queues forming for that iconic mountaintop photo opportunity. There are also waiting lines for various attractions throughout the area. Therefore, when planning your visit, I recommend selecting only two activities in advance. It's unlikely that you'll have sufficient time to enjoy all the available options due to the crowds. Furthermore, I suggest arriving at the summit early in the morning. This strategic timing will help you avoid the peak congestion and lengthy wait times. In some seasons, it may be prudent to make advance online reservations for certain activities. However, exercise caution not to overbook, as excessive crowds can hinder your enjoyment, preventing you from experiencing all the attractions. If you do arrive early in the morning, proceed directly to your chosen activity to make the most of your visit, and later return to the summit to bask in the splendor of this magnificent location.
Zahran A — Google review
Lost a star for its long queue but it was a fun experience! We also went on the karts, which was unexpected even more fun - we purchased the adventure ticket which included unlimited gondola and 1 or 2 activities which was better value for money than purchasing it all separately
Jacqui — Google review
Probably one of the better excursions in my opinion. Being able to come down the mountain via cart, hike, scooter, zip line etc give this edge over the others. Even on a gloomy day you could be having fun going down the mountain. I do recommend buying the tickets in advance for this one for coming down the mountain. I bought Jangfrau travel pass for my visit.

A charming and beautiful hotel, very well maintained, set in a traditional building. We received a room facing the mountains with a breathtaking view, and I captured the stunning sunrise right from our window. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the city center. The reception staff were wonderful, and the breakfast was tasty and satisfying

Rooms are very good in size and come with an attached balcony. The room has a safe, hanger, 2 chairs and a small coffee table. Has place to keep the luggage. It's a 10 min walk away from the Interlaken West Train station. Service could be better. The breakfast isn't great and can be avoided.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with breakfast included. The location is great—just a 5–10 minute walk to Interlaken West station. There’s a Coop supermarket nearby and plenty of restaurants around the area. Although the hotel is a bit old, it has a charming Swiss-style atmosphere and is comfortable enough for a stay. The breakfast was very good—ham, omelets, boiled eggs, and delicious pastries. Overall, I found the price reasonable for what was offered. I would definitely consider staying here again if I return to Interlaken.

Our stay at the hotel chalet Swiss was lovely. Evo was our hotel attendant and he was awesome. He provided us with clear instructions on how to move about the city and had great recommendations for activities while we were there. He was amazing and was so incredibly helpful. The hotel was close to the train station and to several chocolate shops. The only issue we ran into was that there was a window overlooking the other rooms adjacent to ours in our bathroom, and that was the only source of ventilation. There is no air conditioning at this spot so we had a bit of a soggy bathroom and we slept hot. Having the windows open at night helped but there was no bug screen either so we had to pick our battles on this one. Overall great experience and great service.

It was a great experience. We spend 2 nights here. They have breakfast buffet at 7:30 that included eggs (which I love the design of the boiled eggs), bread, variety of delicious cheese, yogurt and cereal, etc. it was good. They have sauna but I didn't have time to use it. The people where very polite and nice, the receptionist gave us instructions on how to move and gave us a guest card that allowed us to use free transportation in Interlaken, showing us the areas that will cover our pass. The room was clean and a beautiful view from the balcony. It has a kettle, coffee and glasses. I really like that they have a small kitchen for you to use, where you can find a microwave and disposable plates, very useful if you bring your own food bought at the supermarket for dinner. The hotel is located in Interlaken west, 10min walk from the train station. 8 min walk to Coop supermarket in the same direction as the train station. From Interlaken west to Interlaken Ost was 3min ride in train.

Kind staff, solid and clean room, nice breakfast. A little bit of an older place but it’s got character and heart, and what more can you ask for. Good experience overall, great location.
Julian P — Google review
We booked the room for 6 nights, but when we entered the room,my head was touching the ceiling. The room is like an attic room, and I'm not even that tall, it was just very low. And it was so hot, and cramped, we were suffocating. There is a small window, and half of it is covered by the top of the elevator. And if you wanted to go from the 2nd to 3rd floor you had to go using stairs, not the elevator they have. We requested the same day to change the room, and everyday they said "tomorrow they will do, tomorrow they will do, tomorrow they will do" they messed up our whole Switzerland trip. Our heart didn't even want us to go back to the hotel, we stayed outside as much as possible because we just didn't want to go back to the room, and we could barely sleep all the nights. The room service was good, and the breakfast is amazing, really good and great quality. And the servers at the breakfast were very kind and hospitable. I am a diabetic patient, I am taking a lot of medication and insulin, and we kept requesting and they said we will do it tomorrow, they said that for 3 DAYS! after the 3 days, they finally changed our room, and that room was a lot better then the first one, much cooler. It also has a balcony so it was very nice. And when we asked for ice, they said if you wanted ice you had to get a drink from the bar first. Also the vending machines, for 6 days, it was completely empty, you can't get any drinks or anything. Instead of having crazy amazing breakfast, use some of that money and distribute it to the room, it's the main part of the hotel and people need to feel comfortable. Before booking your hotel, please check your room, I literally paid more then $2000 for a cramped attic room for 6 nights. We booked this room 3 months ago, it's not a last minute booking. Me and my wife were so excited because this was our dream vacation, but because of this it messed up so much of our trip. I'm really disappointed. I'm giving 2 stars because the room is the main part of the hotel and it shouldn't have been that bad.

Fantastic Interlaken Gem with Sauna Bliss! This hotel was an absolute delight! The location is superb, with a bus stop right opposite the station for easy access, and Interlaken West train station just a comfortable 10-12 minute walk away. And the views? Simply beautiful, especially waking up to the stunning scenery! The hotel itself boasts a gorgeous wooden design and interior that feels both warm and elegant. Our room was wonderfully spacious, with ample cabinets for storage – a huge plus for longer stays. The mattress was incredibly comfortable, and having a sofa with two chairs added a lovely touch of home. The only minor point is that the lift goes up to the 2nd floor, so if you're on the 3rd floor, you'll need to climb a flight of stairs. This wasn't a deal-breaker for us at all, though. Breakfast was a truly decent spread, offering a great variety: yogurts, dry fruits, nuts, jam, fresh fruits, various breads, hot and cold milk, muesli, corn flakes, boiled eggs, ham, beef salami, chicken sausages, juices, coffee, and hot chocolate. Plenty to fuel up for a day of exploring! A special mention must go to the complimentary one-hour sauna facility available from 6 PM to 10 PM. Pro tip: Reserve it as soon as you check in! After a long and cold day in the mountains, it was an incredibly relaxing experience. My wife, who had never experienced a sauna before, absolutely loved it – it was an awesome and memorable part of our stay! Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Interlaken!

Hightide Kayak School offers an unforgettable kayaking experience on Lake Brienz, located on the east side of Interlaken. The narrow body of water is surrounded by stunning natural beauty, with the Brienzer Grat and Faulhorn mountains providing a picturesque backdrop. Visitors can expect a professional and friendly experience with knowledgeable guides who prioritize safety while ensuring an enjoyable time on the water. The tour includes exploring nearby attractions such as castles and paddling around the lake for approximately 1.
We had such a great trip with Ryan! Traveling from the US, we chose Hightide because of the Google reviews and the experience DID NOT disappoint. Because we were there in May, we had the whole lake to ourselves. Though the weather was slightly cool, we were given dry suites that kept us warm. Ryan spent extra time teaching us good paddle techniques, entertained us with great stories, explained our scenery, took fun photos of us throughout the trip and even served tea and biscuits. Highly recommend this as part of your Interlaken experience.

The guides here are super kind! We made a 2 hours tour around the lake and she took many photos and videos of us so we could leave our phone in the lockers so we wouldn’t loose them. The guide asked us if we want to play a game and a challenge which made the tour much more interesting. The guide tells you something about the lake. The view is stunning everywhere you look. Even if you never sat down at a Kajak you can book a tour with these guide, they take time to explain everything properly (how you need to hold the paddle, how to get in and out of the Kajak etc.). A very very nice experience with a nice view as well. Highly recommend it!!

High Tide Kayaking in Interlaken, Switzerland was the highlight of our trip, and our guide Jolene made it unforgettable! This was such a unique outdoor adventure and a must-do if you love water sports or want to see Switzerland in a different way. I highly recommend booking this guided kayak tour in Interlaken. Additionally, visitors can also enjoy other activities such as the First Flyer and First Glider for added adrenaline rushes.
We came to do the Cart ride initially I ly because the glider and flyer had too much crowd and queue! Tip: Go early in the day to avoid crowds and take time to stop for photos—you’ll want to capture these memories!

Probably my favourite thing I did in Switzerland. We joined the queue at about 3 pm on a Saturday and got on the carts at 4:10 pm. There are cows around the area. You buy the tickets at the end of the line and then go through the gate and get a helmet, then instructor explains how to ride the cart and safety. Totally worth the wait. People complaining about people taking pictures- we spent hundreds to get on top and waited hours to get on it, yes we will take a couple of pictures. Don't be fooled, the ride isn't short, I've seen people drive more than 30 km/h- then yes no wonder it was short for you. We didn't do that for safety and enjoying the views. Instructor said to stop on the right side of the road if you need to stop or want to take pics. btw you can even see cows during your ride or sometimes stop to let them through

Brilliant activity. Did not expect to find that the path was so narrow in places. Did not expect people to be walking up the route ! Did not expect people to be stopping the carts regularly to take photos. Did not expect the braking system to be one rear wheel per hand, so to brake smoothly you pull both levers. Still got to fly down most of the sections and loved it
Matthew R — Google review
Good fun but very busy and too many people just going 1km/hr and slowing up the track. We preferred the Trottibikes much longer ride, less busy, no hold-ups and more freedom.
Brad G — Google review
Not sure the mountain carts are worth it unless you go very first thing in the morning. We went mid day and waited in line for 2 hours… and the ride down took us 5 mins. It was posted that it took 25 mins and I guess if you go at a snails pace it takes 25 mins? I also felt like people were being pretty disrespectful and taking forever to go down in the carts (stopping to take a million pics) which is why the line was so long. BUT- it WAS really fun and gorgeous- just not sure it was worth the two hour wait.

one of the most fun things i did here in switzerland. use both brakes or you will slip. sometimes people are scared and slow down and cause traffic so you can’t enjoy it much.

Niederhorn, located just a short drive or bus ride from Interlaken to Beatenbucht, offers a picturesque journey up the mountain via funicular and cable car. At 1963m, visitors can enjoy stunning views of Lake Thun and the distant snow-capped Alps. The peak features a restaurant with outdoor seating, making it an ideal spot for families to relax and take in the scenery.
Such a stunning and pretty place, where you can view the endless ranges of mountains and lake in full glory! It was such a pretty sight!! 😍🥰💕 There were some cows when I was there too, which made it extra mesmerising. Had so much fun looking at the beautiful scenery with the cows and mountains 🗻🐄😍. Visited by cable car (of course😆), or you can hike all the way up if you’re up for an adventure!

So beautiful. Take a look at my shots and let them speak. There is a hotel at the top where you can grab a bite and u se the bathroom before you start your hike. Winter hiking trail has been marked properly only from Niederhorn till Vorsass.

I've been to many panoramic points in Switzerland and this is definitely one of the best spots to see the Alps. Ascend/descent cable car price is 21.5 CHF from beantberg with Half-fare card. From the top, you could have a great view on interlaken and Thun lake

Fantastic hiking area with possibility to take sledges and sledge down the snow slopes 😀 of the hiking trail. Cabke car views are eye dropping! And there is a great place for buffet lunch at the top of course with astonishing views!

Highly recommended walking place. You can also use the cable car. Definitely I would like to do this hiking again. t to long. A pleasant nature and oriented with easy signs. Places to sit out there. Bathroom, bar, restaurant or your own picnic. There was a game with level difficulties for children and families. Different spots to take nice photos and make memories...

Stunning views. Great at sunset. Nice combination when going up with the cable car and walking back to the valley station.

A bit of a challenging hike because of the snow around 1600m at certain parts as I am inexperienced hiking in snow. Once out of the forest, it becomes manageable. Along the way, you can always see Lake Thun and the infamous Eiger, Moench and Jungfrau in the background.

Birg is a mountain peak and viewing platform that offers dining options, cliffside walkways, and breathtaking views of the Eiger and Jungfraujoch. The specially constructed experience at the Birg mid station includes a glass and steel walkway clinging to the cliff, a crawl tunnel, and a rope bridge for added thrills. Visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views from the terrace while indulging in dining options.
Photos can’t do justice to this magical place. Unlike Jungfraujoch, where large crowds are packed together (and peak season would be even worse, not to mention the multiple train rides to get there), my mom, my husband, and I had the entire mountain of Birg to ourselves. The view was far more dramatic than that of Jungfraujoch. We enjoyed the thrill walk in complete solitude, and just as we were about to leave, we saw only three or four other people. It was a completely different, and far more enjoyable experience for us compared to Jungfraujoch. FYI, Schilthorn-Piz Gloria, where the famous 007 movie was filmed, is closed until March 2025. We were really looking forward to experiencing the 360-degree rotating restaurant at the summit of the Swiss Alps—maybe next time!

This place and this site is a dream came true for us! You can see the world from here (JK)😊 but seriously! I personally had a feeling as if we were in a different planet! Mars or Jupiter if you will! The amenities and the customer service and friendliness of the people and staff is spot on! And the atmosphere is something else! We didn’t wanna leave that town! And remember to get a good camera and take advantage of the great panoramic views from every corner of this Center! Food and drinks and souvenirs shops available as well as cable cars and funicular transportation means.

While Schilthorn offers a 360° veiw of the alps, Birg station brings the view xof Jungfrau, Mōnch and Eiger closer.

Halfway between Murren and Schilthorn. Pretty views, and a neat skywalk that makes you feel like you're floating on air
Jeffrey V — Google review
Birg is an incredible mountain station located between Mürren and the famous Schilthorn peak. At around 2,677 meters, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Alps—including the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau—without the crowds you might find at more well-known spots. One of the highlights at Birg is the Thrill Walk, a steel and glass walkway that clings to the side of the cliff. It’s exciting but safe, and offers spectacular views straight down the rock face—perfect for those looking for a little adventure with their sightseeing. It’s a fun and unique experience that adds a bit of adrenaline to your mountain visit. The Skyline Walk viewing platform also provides an amazing perspective, letting you feel like you're floating above the mountains. There’s a restaurant at the station with large panoramic windows and a sun terrace, great for relaxing with a snack or drink while soaking in the views. Birg is easy to reach via the cable car from Mürren on the way to Schilthorn, and well worth a stop. Whether you're after thrilling views, epic photos, or just a peaceful place to enjoy the Alps, Birg delivers an unforgettable experience.
Notyouravragedeler — Google review
The hike up here from Murren is unbelievable. Moderately difficult hike with a decent incline. The 5 stars are for the hike up here. Once you get up there’s a viewing area and a restaurant which seem to be okay (I didn’t stop here for long), but this review is mainly for the hike. Regardless of whether you hike up here or take the cable car, definitely go to Grauseeli, which is a lake right by here. From Birg it’s maybe a 20 minute hike one way. If you hike up here it’s a short detour prior to getting to the cable car.
Muhammad A — Google review
On the way back to Interlaken from Schilthorn, we stopped at Birg station. It has amazing view and cozy place to have a break. It is also good experience to try Thrill walk. It is very safe, but you feel completely exposed to the elements. Walking over the glass floor and over a tight rope and crawling through a wire tunnel with clear views of a big drop is not for everyone. But there is also a more conventional walkway beside the little extras so everyone can enjoy this walk.
WonderChan — Google review

First Glider is a thrilling zip line experience in the Grindelwald area that offers an exhilarating way to soar over the mountains. Despite initial disappointment due to weather-related closures, visitors found it to be an enjoyable and family-friendly activity. The queue time was reasonable, and the staff were praised for their helpfulness and commitment to safety procedures. Overall, First Glider provides an exciting adventure with stunning aerial views of the alpine valley below.
Great fun doing multiple activities on the mountain. Would highly recommend to all spending time in Grindelwald, set a side a day and go here. We certainly were not disappointed. We had such a great day here! The activities are great fun and worth the price of the ticket.
Paul B — Google review
A good experience. Was an easy ride. Recommend to visit early in the morning to avoid long queues.
Ajit N — Google review
What an absolutely thrilling ride! The First Glider zips you through the Alps at 83 km/h — or 51 mph for those of us who measure things in cheeseburgers per football field 😂. We’re a family of 4 with two boys (8 and 10), and this was right up their alley — fast, fun, and just scary enough to make them scream and immediately ask to do it again. Now, the 90-minute wait? Not exactly thrilling. It was like waiting in line for a rollercoaster at a theme park, but with better scenery and more cowbells. Definitely get there early if you value your time (or your sanity). Pro tip: You can take your phone if it has a strap. So you can scream, laugh, and film yourself questioning all your life choices at 83 km/h. Totally worth it.
Mazin Q — Google review
Amazing activity with amazing views bit expensive but worth it. If you want to do more than 1 activity its worth it to take the pass of 2 activities and unlimited cable rides, just bear in mind that you need to come early because the queue lines are quiet long
Zineb H — Google review
We had zero expectation of First Glider as our original first choice activity was First Flyer, which was unfortunately closed on the day. We were also disappointed when we saw the "Close" sign at the door as we were told (by a not very friendly staff) that it would be closed for the rest of the day due to the wet weather, even though we had already brought 2 activities tickets at the ticket office but he said we weren't getting a refund. However, we were fortunate enough that it was re-opened 15 minutes later. This time we were greeted by a much more welcoming lady staff. There were only a few people in front of us in the queue so we didn't have to wait for long. The safety jackets were heavy, but the staff was very patient to help my wife to put it on. The ride began with flying backward and it was FAST! But soon the scary feeling had become amazing feeling! We loved the bird's eye view of the snow and landscape beneath us and saw us moving further and further from the starting point. The return journey was equally amazing and we were actually feel like flying. The whole journey took only a minute, we wished we could do it again, again and again! We didn't try First Flyer but First Glider was definitely very excitedly fun. It was the highlight of our Switzerland trip. I will highly recommend it to everyone!
Ken K — Google review
It was a very pleasant experience with a smooth and easy ride. I would highly recommend going early in the morning, as that’s the best time to enjoy it without having to wait in long queues.
Ghafar K — Google review
I found this to be quite over-hyped. I know it looks great on instagram, but be prepared to wait in line for a looong time! Like 1-1/2 hours at least! They are simply not equipped for this many people. They can only launch a group of 4 people every ~5 mins… it’s a slow process. Plus I found it to be too expensive. For those confused about the tickets: There are 4 activities to pick from. Each activity requires a ticket. There are no combos. The website only offers tickets for 1 or 2 activities. Additional tickets can be bought on the mountain if you want to do the 3rd and 4th activity. Any ticket can be used on any activity.
Tito W — Google review
We were waiting for 3.5 hours to have a ride of 2 minutes... In the website it is recommended to pre-book the ticket until 10 pm of the previous day. However we saw many people that didn't have any ticket and they paid directly there. They accept only card/ twint. If we knew that the queue would have been so long,we wouldn't have booked it. We booked actually a package for two activities and we didn't have the time to do the second activity, even though we arrived around 10 o clock in the morning.. the first Flyer had even larger queue... One couldn't see in the queue any Swiss person, it is 100% a touristic activity and they have taken advantage of it. Did we feel silly? A little bit.. if the situation with the long queue won't change, I wouldn't recommend it. There are other amazing activities to do in Switzerland rather than spend one day in a queue..

Nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps, the Ice Palace Jungfraujoch is a captivating attraction located inside the Jungfraujoch mountain pass. Visitors can explore a series of tunnels carved into the glacier, showcasing intricate ice sculptures and enchanting niches featuring frozen representations of animals like eagles, penguins, and bears. The palace offers a surreal experience that combines natural wonder with artistic craftsmanship.
Visiting the Ice Palace at Jungfraujoch was an unforgettable experience! The frozen corridors and intricate ice sculptures, set within a glacier, were breathtakingly beautiful. The artistry in the ice animals and natural forms made it feel like a magical, frozen world. Walking through the cool, sparkling halls was both relaxing and inspiring. The ambiance, with gentle lighting accentuating each piece, adds a sense of wonder. This is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Switzerland – it’s pure winter magic, year-round!

✨ The Ice Palace is a Must-See! Marvel at stunning ice sculptures, including a snake iceberg (celebrating the Chinese Year of the Snake!). ❄️ Bundle up! It’s freezing inside—wear thermal layers, thick gloves, and sturdy shoes (the floor is slippery!).
TF L — Google review
The Ice Palace at Jungfraujoch is mesmerizing! Walking through icy tunnels and sculptures is a cool, magical experience. The interior is clean and well-lit, and the staff maintains the exhibits beautifully. A unique highlight atop Europe.
Abdelmonem J — Google review
I find it criminal that it costs 272CHF (sans discounts) to say that you’ve been to the “top of europe”. The views were nice and it’s the one place we got snow in August, but the crowds were so crazy on a Saturday afternoon, it was difficult to enjoy the surrounding beauty. Either way, this is nowhere close to the most spectacular spot in Switzerland (in my book). The ice palace was no more than a quick walkthrough and not overly impressive to a group of adults.
Lucy D — Google review
A man made ice cave with some ice sculptures up top at jungfraujoch. Be careful when walking since the floor can be slippery. It’s one of the stations they have set up during the little tour they have for you up top.
Allen L — Google review
Fun stop, lots to see for the entire family! It's almost 12,000 feet so it's way up there in height. Glacier Views
R C — Google review
Not much to see actually, but included anyway, so no complaint. A unique experience still. Could be the only thing to visit during bad weather.
Mato S — Google review
A visit to the Jungfraujoch also includes an ice sculpture exhibition inside the mountain, or is it actually inside the ice? The entire tour inside the mountain is definitely worth doing. The ice sculpture exhibition was impressive, our favorites were the long ice corridor and the man playing the grand piano. Fortunately, it was not very crowded during our visit. The place can get too full if there are large groups of tourists. It might be quite slippery so beware.

The First Trottibike Scooter is a unique scooter bike that doesn't have seats or pedals. Riders stand upright on a wide footboard and roll along smoothly with the help of a suspension fork and large treaded tires. It offers a super chill, fun, and easy way to get around. While some riders found it easy to control and enjoyed the stunning scenery during the ride, others expressed concerns about safety, especially for novice cyclists or those lacking confidence.
Nice experience! I actually wanted to go on the karts but there were no tickets left so I went down with these Trottibikes. The brakes wasn’t so good, you must squeeze them hard to slow down. For me was amazing, for my husband not so 😂 he fell TWICE bc he lost the control of it. I called the emergency because he hit his head (although he has the helmet on), they transferred the call to the First and help came very quickly. A very nice guy avalidated him and brought us back to our motorhome. I recommend it, but not for teenagers, and you must be very VERY careful. We definitely underestimated it 😂
Bárbara G — Google review
i highly recommend doing the mountain cart down then right when u get off to the left is the trotterbike. same price of 21 chf. this one was more fun than the cart but the cart had better views. do both if you can
ABUTHEBEAST — Google review
The trotti bike experience was so fun and the views are spectacular. Don’t rush the ride so you can take time to enjoyed the scenery. We enjoyed the ride so much that the next year, we went again. Most of the ride is on a trail, but at the end you’ll need to ride on some roads in town. Keep your children close to you as you get to town as you are sharing the roads with vehicles. This ride was one of the highlights for our children over our two week trip.
Suzanne T — Google review
Lots of fun! I get the safety concerns but i am not a very graceful person and managed to get down in one piece. 😂 scenery was beautiful! Go at your own pace and use both brakes!!!!!! Both brakes!!!! Can’t stress that enough. My husband was a lot quicker and i got more comfortable towards the middle of the ride. One sharp turn but it was very well labeled. (I walked through it lol) Only reason for the four star is some of the staff seemed annoyed that we were renting towards the end of the day. The only instruction we received was how to follow the trail and to use both brakes.
Ally K — Google review
The activity was fun and most staffs were awesome. The bikes were good quality. Unfortunately, one of the staffs, F Feuz on the Bort station was discriminatory and neglectful with communication. He needs more training before being allowed on the job.
Saidi T — Google review
So fun!! I thought the carts were more fun to ride, but this one is better bang for your buck because it’s a long ride. I loved that the line moved fast and there wasn’t a long safety briefing, they just expect that you won’t be an idiot. Fair warning…it’s fast and has sketchy steep spots and puts you out on the street. But, it was great!!
Finicky F — Google review
This is way better than the mountain carts, the ride is all the way back down into Grindelwald zigzagging down the mountain enjoying the view and the thrill. No hold-ups like mountain cart, way less busy as well.
Brad G — Google review
Cons: brakes aren't great and the route is VERY steep and uneven in places. I was thrown off and needed first aid. We were still close to the top so my friends went and got someone but if you're more than a couple minutes down the hill it's already a massive hike back up. Pros: first aider picked me up in a buggy, drove me down the mountain, and gave me great first aid. It was a pretty ride 🏞️ Advice: just do the walk at the top and then the gliding activities instead, much safer

Hardergrat Trail is renowned as one of the most stunning day hikes globally, offering breathtaking views of Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, along with distant sightings of Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau. The trail presents a challenging trek with narrow ridges, steep drop-offs, and occasional rock scrambling. It's recommended for experienced hikers in top physical condition.
To get to Hardergrat, map to Harder Kulm and take funicular up to restaurant/tourist view point (cost approximately $25 USD round trip). The signs are not very accurate as far as time goes; we took much longer and are regular hikers. We started the hike just uphill from the children’s playground and most of the trail was covered by trees blocking the view. We hiked around 2 hours before the trees opened up and we got to the ridge portion. Check weather! Recently visited and the trail was incredibly muddy and slippery, not safe. However once you get to the ridge, the views are incredible and totally worth it. Oh, and we encountered some mountain goats which was a pleasant surprise.

The best hike I ever did. Make sure the weather is nice (also that there was no rain in the few days prior). Bring enough water (no sources from Brienzer Rothorn up to Harderkulm). Usually people do Harderkulm -> Brienzer Rothorn direction, but I'd actually recommend starting from Brienzer Rothorn as then the most difficult parts you are doing uphill.

Hiking from harder klum takes around 2 hours. Most of time track is in the woods and the trees block all the good views. Keep going East you will see much better views on the ridge of the mountain.
