The Castle Tavern is a traditional ale tavern with a classic decor, offering a pub menu and meal deals. It's advisable to make reservations in advance due to its popularity. The service is friendly and the restaurant, though small, is clean and efficient. The food is served fresh and hot, with options like fish n chips and haggis that are highly recommended. The staff are attentive and the beer selection is excellent.
Very nice Scottish pub. Great location watching over the water and very good live music. The food was also great! The vegetables had great flavour, the salmon was fresh and the sauce was perfect to keep it all together. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here, would love to come back!
Bryan J — Google review
Bit of a mixed experience here but overall a great visit. The haggis croquettes and cullen skink were both great and we enjoyed them. We also got a steak "medium" and it came out well done. We had a good laugh about that but luckily the whisky sauce made it edible (we're too polite to ever send food back). Service was perfectly fine but if you like lots of attention this probably isn't the spot for you. View out the windows is great if you get a table there. We, however, had a lovely view of the wall. Recommend having a reservation still in mid September.

The Castle Tavern in Inverness is a must-visit! Fantastic selection of ales and a great range of delicious whiskies to choose from. The food was unbelievable—our steak and ale soup special was rich and hearty, and the sticky toffee pudding was the perfect finish. Cozy, welcoming atmosphere with friendly service. A true Highlands gem right by the castle—highly recommend!
Mark P — Google review
This place is adorable and very cosy! The staff are also very friendly. Good beer, good food, good view, what more can you ask for? We had such a great time here our first night in Inverness that we canceled our dinner plans for the following night so we could come back!
Eva G — Google review
Perfect pub atmosphere - footy on TV, but not too loud. Service was excellent and friendly. Food was tasty and came out quickly. I even met a gorgeous doggie at the next table!
Mitzi-Ann L — Google review
Had a fantastic experience at The Castle Tavern. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was stellar. We enjoyed sitting outside on a blustery fall evening - we were plenty toasty under a heat lamp. The chipotle chicken sandwich and the oatmeal stout were delicious!
Rosemary W — Google review
Had a lovely time visiting the Castle Tavern. I got some of the best mac and cheese I have ever eaten! The bread was super tasty as well and was so good dipped in the leftover cheese. When I sent this picture to my sister, she was insanely jealous! Great options for drinks and fairly reasonably priced (the food was VERY reasonably priced, so not complaining)!
Shelby — Google review
We ate here tonight, recommended by the staff at our hotel. We sat on the patio, which has a great view. I ordered the Haggis, and my wife had the Haddock and chips. I can say on my part that the haggis and whisky sauce was marvelous! I ate it so quickly that i couldn't get enough. It was absolutely perfect! Definitely recommend. My wife said the haddock was incredibly fresh and fantastic. Both of us were so glad we stopped by! The service was very nice. We ordered at the bar, and i asked the staff for their beer recommendations, and even though I didn't take their advice specifically, I really appreciated the personal touch of them telling me their favourites! Overall, not a single bad word to share! Great location, great atmosphere, great service, and fantastic food. Stop here, its worthwhile!

Innes Bar, established in 1860, is one of the oldest bars in Inverness. It's a lively spot where you can catch up on sports and enjoy classic pub fare like battered haddock or steak and ale pie. The bar also hosts darts, dominoes, and pool teams, making it an energetic meeting place for fans of Caley Thistle. Visitors rave about the friendly staff and great service.
The best steak pie I had during my trip to Scotland; the crust was incredibly buttery and the meat was very tender! The staff were super friendly!

Lovely pub, a real pub! Been a couple of times and love it. Has old peculiar on draft! Lots of people from all ages and a really nice air of people who know each other and are regular. Very welcoming to newbies! Will try the food next time, smells great. Enjoyed beating my boyfriend at pool too. Everything you need for a good time.

Visited recently for the first time with my wife and a friend for lunch. It was a Saturday and we also had the dug with us! It was a good sign that the place was busy with diners.I had the scampi and wife had the beef stew - both delicious. The young lady who served us was great. She brought a bowl of water for the dog and we hadn't even asked for one. Will definitely be back next time we're in Inverness.
Carlo C — Google review
Real pleasant proper boozer. Old Peculier in absolute pristine condition, great choice of spirits for those inclined. Very friendly barmen and welcoming locals. We were to late for the kitchen so had to make do from a very interesting selection of bagged snacks
Guy P — Google review
First time ordering takeout from the Innes Bar. Fish & chips were fantastic. Lovely crispy beer batter and generous portion of both chips and peas. Lovely taste. Add a little slice of lemon and it's perfect. Also ordered 8oz steak. Steak was cooked perfectly in line with our order. Again, generous portion of chips and nice, fresh salad & coleslaw with it was lovely. Onion rings had a nice crunch too. Ordered for collection at 7pm and was met at the door. Quick transaction at the door of the premises due to covid restrictions (no bad thing) and within 10 minutes I was home with freshly hot food. Gentlemen was very polite and the food was fantastic. Might have been my first time ordering here but will not be the last. Looking forward to becoming a regular.

We recently booked our staff summer party here and will be doing the same next year, the beer garden area was perfect for us, the staff, Connor, Kayleidh & the chef who did our BBQ (didn’t get his name sorry) were excellent! Going above and beyond all night for us Thank you all so much

Live music venue
Gellions Bar, established in 1841, is a lively pub in Inverness that offers nightly live music, a Saturday Ceilidh, bar meals, darts board and TV sports. The bar exudes a welcoming atmosphere with its comfortable seating areas and two roaring coal fires. However, some visitors have noted that the reception desk looks worn and tacky. Despite this, the leisure facilities including an outdoor hot tub and sauna are highly praised.
Beautiful place, nice beer variations, good Music, nice people! Thanks for your kindness!
Severin S — Google review
An Inverness institution with real character—claiming roots back to 1841 and widely regarded as the city’s oldest pub—Gellions delivers nightly live Scottish music (ceilidh/folk vibes often led by local favorites like Schiehallion), a buzzing crowd of locals and travelers, and a strong pour list to match. Expect 24 taps across cask and craft plus an extensive line-up of Scottish whiskies and gins; it’s the kind of room where a pint easily turns into a singalong. Arrive early on weekends if you want a seat—peak sessions pack out fast.

Great old local bar. Definitely providing much needed respite from the ordinary.

Love this pub. Friendly and authentic. The band was amazing and crowd was so happy. Located in center of the town and easy to reach other restaurants if you wish. Try this pub if you are in Inverness.

My husband and I were visiting from Philadelphia when we came upon this gentleman. He happens to be a local from Inverness who loves the Philadelphia Eagles. We watched the game together and hung out and watched the Eagles win. Had a great time. Wished we exchanged numbers.

What a fantastic place we had drinks on Wednesday night and the staff were really friendly and chatty. We called in for lunch on Thursday again the staff were really friendly. We were seated straight away with table service for food and drinks. The menu was really good we opted for the veggie burger with seasoned fries and the cheese steak baguette (without cheese) chips and salad. The food came out quickly and was fantastic. All the other food coming out also looked amazing. I can highly recommend this place for food and drink or both. Thank you Johnny Foxes keep up the good work.

Drinks - water Pea and basil soup - so delicious. A bowl of soup is an actual bowl and priced decently. Fish & chips - fish is haddock - served one piece, but decent sized served with chips (fries) & green peas. Caesar salad - decent size delicious dressing and plenty of parmesan cheese. Very fresh. Staff were pleasant in a cozy atmosphere.
Kevin B — Google review
We had a much better experience than we expected! We came here for lunch and the first impression after entering was how sticky the floors are !!! I guess after nights and nights of live music it would be expected, but still weird to feel your feet sticking so much :)) The lady serving us was very kind, the food tasty - we took soup of the day (leek with potatoes) and different kind of sandwiches or wraps. It is a big space so you have a shot of finding tables without a reservation beforehand, even on a busy Sunday.
Ana — Google review
The soup of the day was very good. My wife had the “Nessy” burger and said the beef was excellent. The onion rings were enormous, but still fine. The waiters were extremely helpful, and we didn’t have to wait long for our main dishes, the soup arrived almost immediately.
Dmitriy M — Google review
Great location with great food. We didn't have much time. Service was great and so was the food. We told them were in a hurry but with quick service or food was still properly cooked and served.
Matthew H — Google review
I wish I could give them a good score because they could do what many other places couldn't do. To accommodate 10 persons for a dinner service on a Saturday night! The staff was friendly, took our orders and the food arrived in no time. I would say service is better than decent. However admittedly the food was mediocre - maybe thats how the food generally served in city centre are. We had different food - traditional guiness steak pie, fish and chips, burgers, chicken stuffed with haggis, unfortunately nothing screamed "come back to this place". I hope they could improve the quality but I'm also thankful they accommodated us.
Hari S — Google review
It was 4 of us and we came for dinner. We were seated and our server got to us quickly. She was very helpful with the menu. We got soup, steak ,stew etc- everything was very good and tasty. I wish they had bigger selection of IPA beer.
Nataliya D — Google review
Stopped by for lunch on a Monday and the place still had a good atmosphere and very friendly and efficient service. The food was great especially the haggis spring rolls to start 😋 good choice of whiskey too. We would definitely visit again!

It has gained an excellent reputation for its friendly staff and delicious food, making it a gem in Inverness. Visitors have praised the flexibility of the kitchen in accommodating their preferences, as well as the freshness and flavor of the dishes. The menu offers a good selection of draught beers and spirits, adding to the overall experience.
The best apple pie I've ever had in my life... Gotta say, the Scots did it better here than I've ever had in the US, apologies to my mother and grandmother if they see this! The sauces were good on the lamb, and the pork belly was absolutely delicious with crisped outer bits and tender insides. Nice seats next to the window and nice walks along the waterway nearby make this a great stop.

Fantastic experience for my mum's birthday. Main courses were amazing and catered for celiac disease with an exclusive menu. Desserts were equally as good. Thank you so much for putting decorations and even a wee candle on my mum's dessert. Also all of the staff were so friendly, a credit to the restaurant!! We will be back for sure 😁

We found this pub by chance whilst spending an evening in Inverness before our weeks holiday and it was nice we spent our last night there when we arrived back. Excellent food, (tastiest mussels ever!)friendly service, would recommend booking especially as the kitchen closes at 8. A great little find
Beckie W — Google review
My husband and I ended up here for supper one night after seeing good reviews online. We didn't have a reservation so we had to wait for a table. The host was kind and sympathetic despite our lack of reservation and got us in after 45 minutes. It was worth the wait! The service here was awesome. Very warm and welcoming. Good team effort as we were attended to by 4 people during the course of our meal. Our primary server, whose name I have forgotten, was particularly lovely. She said she only recently started working there after her kids were grown, and she was a total natural and her friendliness was a highlight. The atmosphere was really nice. A busy place with locals and tourists, cozy without being too crowded. A reasonable level of noise for how busy it was. We were tucked into a corner which was a fairly quiet spot. My husband got the chicken sizzler which was the largest portion of chicken either of us has ever seen! He said it was really nicely flavored and juicy. Soooo much cheesy goodness on top! I got the Jacobite chicken which is stuffed with blaggis (black pudding plus haggis) which was a great combination. Perfectly cooked and I loved it. The gravy was an excellent complement to the chicken, and was rich without being heavy. My portion was a little small but a couple bites of my husband's chicken evened things out. I didn't get potatoes as a side and instead got extra carrots. Totally did not expect them to blow my mind, but wow! Best carrots I've ever had. Garden fresh, perfectly cooked, lovely light glaze. Highly recommend. We had no room for dessert, sadly. I saw other diners' desserts and they looked awesome. Wonderful experience and good value for money especially in a touristy town like Inverness.
Sarah K — Google review
I was really pleasantly surprised by The Waterfront in Inverness. The place is very popular and busy, and the food is simple but absolutely delicious. I had the best mussels I’ve eaten in a long time, and the pork belly good. Highly recommend this place- but make sure to book a table if you’re planning to come for dinner.
Anna W — Google review
We discovered this place by chance, as we could see it from our hotel. We had a lovely meal here. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and happy to share tips about what to see in the area, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Most importantly, the food was excellent — and great value for money. A down-to-earth, friendly spot serving good food.
Cooper D — Google review
Very nice, friendly staff. Delicious food, good location. Seated immediately fast waitressing food arrived quickly. Thank you to all the staff for a nice meal.
Elizabeth M — Google review
We were hoping for a special dinner for my parents' anniversary but were somewhat disappointed. Folks were kind enough but very inefficient service. There were so many different people coming to our table we didnt know who knew what about our orders, they didnt allow us to fully order before disappearing again, with both drinks as well as food, so it was very unorganized. There were only 6 of us so its not like it was a big group. Food didnt come out altogether, which is fine except we thought that meant it would all be hot and fresh. Two of our meals (different meat dishes) were barely warm. They looked nice and tasted fine but the temperature was off-putting. The table and seating were very tight, with one of us sitting with a radiator up against our legs.

Hootananny is a vibrant pub in Inverness, offering a lively atmosphere with traditional Scottish folk music and weekly ceilidh events. The high-ceilinged venue provides an authentic experience for visitors, complete with delicious Scottish cuisine such as haggis topped with mash potatoes, steak pie with new potatoes, fish and chips, Cullen skink, and porter pudding. Guests have praised the friendly staff and accommodating service at this charming establishment.
Food great and reasonably priced. Beer is available in half-pints for more tasting. Music is fantastic. And none of those are the best thing about this place: it's the hospitality. Highly recommend booking in advance. They will get you a perfect table for your party: near the stage, near the bar, near the back or upstairs. Two shows a night, so please try to share the fun. Such a Highland treat!

This tiny pub in Inverness is pretty cool. You can dine and groove to tunes while you eat. The service was a bit lacking though, especially for the size of the crowd they had between the bar and dinner service.

Loved our stay here. Absolutely fantastic place. We booked a last minute room and was afraid it would be not so nice. But omg, it was amazing. My favorite stay in Scotland! The room was very clean and super cozy. The bed was very comfortable and the restaurant was just below. No noise from the restaurant! The food was fantastic and the live music Absolutely amazing. Highly recommend it!

On a Monday, I met Tracy on the train returning to Inverness from my day trip to Edinburgh. I had only two more nights in Scotland and I wanted to experience live Scottish music. We were staying at the Waverley Guesthouse on Union Street and I persuaded her to go out to Ax throw at Playback. We were too late for that, they close at 7:00 pm. She was hungry so I guided her to Scotch & Rye Grill. We drank alcohol and she nibbled on pull pork. She did not look happy so I suggested let’s find another place. There are plenty of bars in the Historic area of Inverness, no need to take a taxi. The moment we read the sign, we laughed out loud saying HOOTANANNY. We walked straight to the bar to select our remedy. The live music was playing as we found seats to enjoy the performance. I looked at her face and she was radiant with happiness. Vhuntermassage LLC

Our dinner was delicious, we really enjoyed the food. The cranachan cheesecake was good aswell. They have live music which brings a good atmosphere. There was one server for the upstairs dinning area, I think they struggled to keep everyone happy. We heard the people near us make a couple of complaints due to not having the attention of the server. I would come in with the mind set of needing some patience for the staff.

After 35 years since my last visit I popped in for a beer or two on a Sunday afternoon- disappointingly only 2 of 8 hand pumps with real ale available (Orkney IPA & Cromarty White). Stunning. The food was so fresh and it clearly showed in how delicious it was. Lovingly prepares, beautifully presented and fantastic tastes - I was so impressed from my first bite. This is truly showing Scottish food at its best - fish, beef and venison. We also were provided with fantastic service. The staff were friendly and attentive. If you're in Inverness I would highly recommend coming here.

This place is absolutely worth every penny and more. I took my parents here as a finale to their 40th anniversary trip. We all chose the the 2 course option. Me- the mushroom soup and butternut squash salad with halloumi cheese, mom- same salad with a ragi bolognese, and dad- the polenta and baked hake. My parents, who are not adventurous in their palates, raved for days after the experience. Attentive staff, delicious food, and all-around a top notch evening

What a wonderful experience! I didn't realise that they are the culinary stars in town, I looked for an accessible restaurant with good reviews near out hotel then absolutely loved the sound of their (early evening) menu. I made a note that I was coming in a wheelchair so they could plan where they could best seat me. We were early and given different options. Staff were lovely and chatty. They told us the menu changes every few weeks and you could tell everything was very seasonal. Beautifully presented, I adored my starter and dessert just the combination of flavours and textures a real delight. Honestly one of my highlights of our 5 days in Inverness, how lucky you are!

Absolutely amazing experience! The staff were warm, attentive, and made the evening feel special from start to finish. The cocktails were fabulous, every single one was delicious and beautifully presented. The food was truly out of this world, bursting with rich flavors and cooked to perfection. Every dish felt like a celebration in itself. I celebrated my birthday here and loved every bit of it. From the atmosphere to the service, everything exceeded expectations. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience!

We had a wonderful dinner at Rocpool while visiting Inverness. Dinner reservations are a must here. The staff/service and food were all amazing. I split the crab and sweet corn soup with someone and the staff was nice enough to put it into two bowls for us (without us asking for it). For entrees, we had the duck, halibut, and venison, which we were told are the 3 best entrees and they were all delicious. For dessert, we tried the warm lemon meringue pie and twice baked chocolate mousse - again, both were great. I would highly recommend having a meal at Rocpool while in Inverness.

The locals told us this was “the best restaurant in Inverness,” and we can see why. The service, meals, and ambiance were all superb. We went during lunch hour on a week day and didn’t need a reservation, and we left very happy.

Just an outstanding dining experience in every way. We shared an outstanding crab/corn chowder. I had the Monkfish and my wife had the calf liver special. Both were great. Service was prompt, helpful and friendly. Great restaurant!

We started with a wrong foot on this one. We tried cancelling our booking the day before because one of our members had stomach issues. Then I found some £80 was deducted from cancellation less than 24 hours. I then called the restaurant & reasoned with them. We were able to go then at a later time in order not to waste the deducted deposit. At the end I must admit our dishes looked as good as expected & we were happy with our food. The only regret was we did feel a little awkward when the bill was served.

MacGregor's is a charming spot that offers Scottish cuisine, craft beer, and spirits in a relaxed atmosphere with live music. The proprietor, Bruce, hosts whiskey tastings in the cozy basement and shares captivating local stories. The menu features high-quality dishes like fresh whole seabass and butternut squash soup. The pub also boasts an extensive selection of beers and spirits. Despite being close to transportation hubs, MacGregor's maintains a welcoming ambiance without any pretense.
A very nice bar for delicious meals and drinks with proper Scottish experience. The food was very tasty and good, the dessert was delicious. It has a nice atmosphere to enjoy a drink and a meal. They had a live music performance that added to the experience. It’s a busy place with a lot of tourists.

Really nice pub inside but the fish and chips and lack of heaters let it down - fish was dry, no peas, cheap condiments 😭 pie was good (meat was delicious) but the flavour was lacking and needed more gravy! A shame after reading all the amazing reviews. However the desserts were amazing - cranachan (which came as cranachan not cheesecake as advertised but v happy about that). Sticky toffee was delicious too. The inside tables were nice but hard to come by and none of the outside tables had heaters. The mussels smelled amazing we wished we ordered those

This place was awesome! The proper Scottish experience! Steak pie was SO good and I’m surprised by how much I loved the salad, I don’t know what they put in there but it was amazing. Fish and chips were fried perfectly! Service knew exactly what they were doing, they were really running the show. Cool spot, highly recommend!

The very best food, the best staff, the most authentic atmosphere! We loved everything about this pub! It is not a large place inside - yet, they accommodated our large group and made it look easy. Other places in town had given us a bit of a hard time - but MacGregor's, with less seating inside than some of the others, made us feel welcomed and appreciated. I can't say enough about the kindness of the staff here --- and the food is outstanding!!

Stopped in for dinner, found the back end has a quiet room, away from bar scene. Order fish and chips and chicken fingers . Both delicious. I was suprised by the 12(!) year old servers!! Not 12, but sure seemed young, however, super friendly, attentive, kept out glasses full, prompt. Note - fish n chips were better HERE then in London, by a long shot. They just cooked em right, not too much breading , not too tough, not fishy smelling, just good stuff The chicken fingers were great as well. Only downfall ….. the fries were plan Jain thin fries, not real “chip” But not overpriced, and good atmosphere

Such a wonderful place to grab a bite to eat and a pint! We came here around 5pm on a Saturday in October and were worried we wouldn’t get in but they have a large space and were able to sit us quickly. The food was exceptional, the service impeccable, and the vibes were exactly right.

Popular place. They ran out of what we wanted, but we did have amazing fish sandwiches. Beer was tasty. Strangers asked to photograph our sandwiches (if you saw them you would understand - they looked that amazing), and then other strangers asked to photograph our beers. It was silly.

The Auctioneers is a vibrant pub that serves breakfast and gourmet burgers, and offers late-night dancing and TV sports. With a cozy atmosphere, it's an ideal spot to enjoy a meal with friends or catch live sports on one of the 12 television screens. The menu features simple yet delicious dishes, including grilled cheese toasties, pretzels with beer cheese, macaroni cheese with salad, onion rings, and sweet potato fries.
Lovely roast on Sunday, a large portion and friendly staff. Food came quickly and was very hot. Greta and Daniel were very helpful. Music was good aswell.

We were told that they were out of one of the main dishes while ordering. Understandable as it was about 6pm. We then waited about 30 minutes for them to come tell us, after paying, that they were out of another menu item we ordered. Okay again, not a big deal but not a great impression. We got half of the food at that time, but then waited another forty minutes. At that point half of us had eaten and were ready to leave, and the food still wasn't out. When we went and asked about where it was, the man at the counter said it was "just a minute". The restaurant was half full, not extremely busy, so not sure what was taking so long to dish up 2 meals and some salads. When they finally brought the food the reasoning for the wait was "the kitchen is a mess" The condiments came out in measuring cups? Not sure if that's intentional but it seemed like they just had nothing else to put it in. Pictured is the food we waited over an hour for... Needless to say they need some help.🫣

Had lunch here. Fish and chips were good and the grilled gammon was amazing. The ciabatta bread for the steak sandwich was a little too hard. But would come back. Good prices too!

I can't believe the place has only 4.1 in terms of reviews. We were looking for some simple, but full of flavour soul food. Fried chicken, loaded fries etc. Well, if you are looking for the same, just like us, this is the place. The food tasted great. The staff was so friendly and helpful! And the vibe all around? Really nice place to be in. People definitely looked like having fun and enjoying.

Food was ok, good portions and tasty. Kids meals were very mismatched as one dish had quite a lot and other was about half the size so just beware. Staff friendly but place was not too busy just some loud locals with a few beers in them and as this was early lunch could of been better. Could of been cleaner as table was sticky and chairs ripped etc so just needs some TLC Over all good but could be better. Good food though

No faults from our visit. We ordered two drinks and two mains. Decent wait time and food was good quality and tasted great. They had a selection of sports playing on the TV but with no volume thankfully. Nice music but quiet enough to easily chat with friends. People who served us were great.

I visited The Auctioneers Pub in Inverness with four friends, and it was absolutely perfect! The atmosphere was warm and lively, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was spot on. I had the fish and chips — crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside, with golden fries that completed the dish perfectly. A true Scottish pub experience and a great place to relax with friends. Highly recommended!

Rose Street Foundry is a versatile venue that offers a range of experiences, from intimate acoustic sessions to lively nights out. On Valentine's Day, guests can enjoy an evening featuring live music, prosecco on arrival, and a delectable three-course meal. Meanwhile, their Sunday roast has garnered praise for its attention to detail and exceptional flavors. The private room upstairs provides the perfect setting for group gatherings with excellent service and delicious food.
Quite a different experience from the usual. I liked the games being played while we relish on our food. Service was at par. Thanks to the lady serving us. The food was good. I had soup of the day and my wife had a macaroni and cheese with garlic bread Nothing to complain about.
Arindam R — Google review
Looking for an early dinner and good scotch before heading back. The vibe and the building feels right. I ordered a Rose Foundry venison burger and also a flight of scotch whiskey. The wait time for the food is reasonable. Food and drink are amazing. Great selection of the whiskey for the flight to give you a solid topic with interesting variety. Fantastic Burger and fries, the meat and seasoning are perfect, only nitpick is the veggies and sauce make the burger watery and a little messy, but it is a great burger nevertheless. The waitress Kornella are very digilent to check up with customers to see if it is alright and introduce me with the historical background of the building. I feel lucky to choose this restaurant for the meal before leaving, giving me a good final notes to conclude the short trip to Inverness. Will recommend and visit again if I can go to Inverness again.

We had a group night out here on Saturday. 19 of us were given the private room upstairs for our dinner and what a brilliant night. The staff were so lovely - they couldn't do enough for us. Andrew made sure everyone had drinks while we waited for our food (which had been pre-ordered) the service was great, the food was delicious, and then after our meal we all headed downstairs for the band - who were superb. This venue has everything. The perfect place for dinner, drinks and dancing. Thank you to all the happy smiley staff who made our annual get together so special.

A Sublime Sunday Roast at The Rose Street Foundary On a recent Sunday visit to The Rose Street Foundary, three of us decided to indulge in the quintessentially British tradition of a Sunday roast. Two of us opted for the roast chicken while one went for the roast beef. Both choices turned out to be exceptional. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the meal. The meats were perfectly cooked—juicy and tender, enhancing every bite with rich, natural flavours. But the true stars of the show were the roast potatoes. These were, without a doubt, the very best encountered in the Highlands—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. The presentation of the dishes was nothing short of beautiful, making the meal not only a treat for the palate but also a feast for the eyes. The Yorkshire puddings were the only items that did not completely dazzle, but they were still delightful not being home made and did not detract from the overall excellence of the meal. The staff at The Rose Street Foundary deserves a special mention for their impeccable service. They were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our dining experience was as smooth as it was enjoyable. The Rose Street Foundary offers an amazing Sunday roast that stands out for its quality and flavour. It is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the best of Highland hospitality and cuisine.

Fantastic burger, great slaw, crispy fries. No idea how this place is empty for Thursday dinner rush. It's not fancy pants and it's not pub rustic, but the burgers and fries are great. Come on in!!

Maybe worth it for a drink but definitely not for food. Waited over an hour for a very simple order (schnitzel, soup, nachos and ribs). The only thing worth it was the soup and their beers. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt and assume they were having a bad night based on other reviews.

Next is a store with a fantastic manager named Tom who goes above and beyond to assist customers. The staff is pleasant, helpful, and maintains a clean and tidy store. Customers appreciate the good variety of products, quality, and reasonable prices available at Next.
I do enjoy a visit to Next. I usually go to the Next in the Retail Park in Inverness. If I come into town I visit this one in the Eastgate Centre. This one is not so big so there is less variety. It does, however, sell different things. The Home section is like visiting a modern living room, it is well set out, someone has an eye for detail. I suppose most people shop online for Next but I like to see what I am actually buying in store. For me, always a good visit.

I went in to get my parcel as they are connected with other companies to do so. Went to the till and got a very rude lady in a floral dress bark at me that I was at the wrong place for parcel pick up. I then went to the desk she said and no staff were around at all so I went to another desk and got a really nice blonde cashier who helped me right away and went and got my parcel. Its actually put me off doing the service again as it seems to be a huge bother to the staff or just floral dress lady.
Nalka33 T — Google review
The manager, Tom, is fantastic. He went the extra mile in trying to sort out a problem and even phoned customer service for me. The store is extremely lucky to have such a hard worker!!

Having been a regular purchaser from Next I am disappointed to learn that the fitting rooms are still closed. This is in Perth also. We stay some distance away from towns and cities and not easy to return items. Fitting rooms are now allowed to be open so is it a case of these stores being mean in not employing staff to sanitise the fitting rooms. Loads of hospitality venues have had to employ more staff to be covid compliant and most don't have the backing of a big chain.

Revolution Inverness is a unique chain bar with a diverse menu of comfort food favorites and nightly happy hours. Visitors have praised the stylish interiors, cleanliness, and friendly staff. The fish and chips are particularly fresh and delicious, although some found the plates to be on the small side. Guests have also raved about their experiences at Revolution Inverness, from being generously treated by the manager to enjoying delectable gluten-free options like the Korean BBQ pulled pork burger.
This was a brilliant lounge to visit, with a modern, glowing design! The bar is well presented with its gold colour, frames are pretty and the dance floor at night adds extra fun. I enjoyed a shot, sitting at the curved seats by a small table!

Came across this amazing pub while we were looking for a place to have a lunch. Inside the interiors is very nice, very tidy and clean pub. Staff were friendly. Even the toilet is very cleaned. Well done! We ordered fish and chips. The fish and chips are very fresh. Good for value. The only complaint I have is the small plates. When I cut the fish it went flying and I caught it in time before it landed on the floor... lol. We would definitely come back and I would recommend friends to come here.

It’s just kind of alright to be honest. We stopped in for food and drinks on a Sunday around 3pm so it was nice and quiet. There’s a huge menu of cocktails and some of them are on a “happy days” menu so reduced to £6: happy days indeed! Food is largely burgers and pizzas with some mains options thrown in. I ordered the “Revs Chicken Kebab” but they were out of grilled chicken so settled for a burger and a starter of fried chicken. It was all just kind of ok. Nice sauce on the burger but the burger itself kind of had a spoons vibe to it. Not a problem in itself although the food is pretty expensive for what it is (£13ish I think!). I’d probably go back for drinks but wouldn’t bother with the overpriced food.
S W — Google review
Disappointingly fish & chips served was pretty awful. Sent out with chips that all looked green or off. Sent back as they didn’t look right. A fresh meal was provided, but again chips were awful. No care clearly by the chef or the Manager for them to allow this to happen. Apology offered by the waitress, but for a standard meal this is unacceptable.
Wayne V — Google review
Really good cocktails and friendly staff! The happy days deal seems pretty good, too bad it's not valid on bank holidays (apparently, they don't tell you/ state this upfront). The food is quite mid, fine for the price. Would've preferred to be informed about the deal not being valid before ordering our cocktails with this mindset. Would not have given a tip after this experience, but apparently this 'optional' service charge is already included. Loved the mean girl cocktail tho
Lisa W — Google review
Service was very slow and had to go find the waitress a few times! Took 20 minutes just to get a drink. We were looking forward to the £6 cocktails, but they were 90% ice! No wonder they were only £6. We ordered the Rev sharing platter which was good, but they changed the jalapeño poppers for battered mushrooms without checking with us first. 1) I ordered that platter because I love jalapeño poppers 2) I hate mushrooms. All in all, just an average experience at an average restaurant.
Donna L — Google review
Amazing food! I had the Gluten Free Korean BBQ pulled pork burger, it was delicious. The chips were fresh and crispy and the Noo Woo cocktail was beautiful. Serving staff were polite and helpful and the place was immaculate. Will definitely be back to try more from the new menu!

Wow! Atmosphere was hopping, food better than any we had in Spain, and service attentive and top notch. Their starters were just fabulous 👌. The restaurant is nicely located and quite large. The group menu is definitely the highlight of the place. The mains were ok. Carolina the server was very helpful. However, the management has an attitude problem and not very welcoming. We came in a day early they just refused to flat out to give us a table by saying we are all booked. No alternate time or solution offered. Today we came early and the place was empty so we got a table. They did not allow us to order one main from the group menu saying management does not allow. We asked for Ayran, the most popular Turkish drink, the server tried to get it but the management refused again stating that only order from the drinks menu. I thought that was unusual not accomodating their customer. He never greeted us whereas he was greeting everyone else. Who knows what was going through his mind.

Number 27 Bar and Kitchen is a vibrant independent venue in Inverness that offers a menu featuring local game and seasonal produce. Visitors praise the delicious food, attentive staff, and great atmosphere. The mussels are particularly recommended for being plump, tender, and filling the whole shell. The steak pie is also highly regarded. Reservations are advised due to its popularity during dinner rush hours.
I had the pleasure of visiting Number 27 today, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was welcoming, setting the perfect tone for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. I decided to try their steak pie, and it was nothing short of delightful. The pie had a rich, savoury filling encased in flaky, golden pastry that was perfectly cooked. Each bite was bursting with flavour, showcasing the kitchen's attention to detail and commitment to quality. To complement my meal, I enjoyed a pint of Guinness. The staff's knowledge about their beer selection was truly impressive. They were not only friendly but also provided insightful recommendations, enhancing my overall dining experience. Their passion for beer was evident, and it was refreshing to engage with such well-informed and enthusiastic individuals. Came in for a spot of lunch after a long morning exploring Inverness. We discovered the amazing lunch menu (2 courses for £20!) and couldn’t resist. We ordered drinks and food, and everything came over promptly. The mussels were EXCEPTIONAL. My pie was also delicious and the pastry top very flaky. We loved everything, and would highly recommend. The only very slight negative was that we were automatically charged for pints of soft drinks as appose to standard size without being asked. When I queried it, they happily changed it on the bill but it was a bit odd.

Absolutely fantastic meal here. The staff, atmosphere, and food were wonderful. One of, if not, the best places to eat out in Inverness. Our party had the haggis, brie, and cranberry and prawn starters, which were excellent meals and perfectly portioned. The mains were just as great. We had the chicken with bacon, haggis, and mash. The steak was one of the best I've ever tasted! The lamb tagine was cooked perfectly. Overall, this was a great bar and restaurant, service was excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely. 10/10 would recommend if you're visiting Inverness!

This is a solid 4.5 star review, but since I can’t give a half star… The food was simple but fantastic. Seriously, the steak pie is to die for! The white chocolate panna cotta had a slight textural issue - very much as if the chocolate hadn’t quite melted all the way when making the base - but it tasted good enough that that didn’t really matter. Our table had a view of Inverness castle that will probably be breathtaking once the renovations there are done and the fence is down. The atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming. The only issue was the service, while very friendly, was on the disorganized side. I’m not complaining, exactly, I had a good night and would eat there again if I was back in town, but they brought out my main with the wrong side, brought my dining partner’s dessert out with no cutlery, and forgot about our request for the bill when we asked for it at the end of the night. Everything was sorted out when brought up, and it certainly didn’t ruin the meal or anything, it just wasn’t quite a five star (that is, flawless) experience. I have no reservations about recommending this as a place to get dinner, though!

R&Bs is a family-owned restaurant and karaoke bar located in central Inverness, Scottish Highlands. The venue offers classic Scottish dishes and bar snacks from lunch to late-night, creating a chill atmosphere with velvet chairs. The decor features plush elements, including an unusual palette of colors and materials such as greenish-blueish, purple, and grey contrasting with black wood panels. The establishment also boasts a dance floor with disco lights for evening entertainment.
This was a fantastic bar for drinking, with a lively atmosphere as expected up in the Highlands! The purple lighting contributes to this late on and karaoke was a blast, coming on booming music system too. I was able to grab Loch Ness ale from here and seating is available in the night, which provided comfort!

I came here because I love sticky toffee pudding. Trip Advisor said this was a good place for one...Absolutely, awful. I am 97% sure it was microwaved, since the center was cold and the edges were warmish. The ice cream was the cheapest tasting ice cream I have ever had. It impressed me by just how bad it was. My friends drinks tasted watered down, which is surprising since we watched them make the drinks and they didn't skimp on the shots. It was the first time in Scotland I genuinely could not taste the alcohol in two separate drinks. My beer was fine, but it is hard to mess up a draft Peroni. The bartenders were great! Super witty and down to earth. They were the most entertaining people, especially since the rest of the staff looked like they hated it there. 100% do not recommend it for food. Maybe just Karaoke, which is only two nights a week. We didn't get to see it

They sell it as a Karaoke, but they put our song after 3 hours..... We arrived at 9, the time when they mentioned Karaoke starts, and we waited for more than 3 hours for them to play our song. Even when we saw people singing 2 or 3 times, we asked the guy on the console and the answer was.... it is coming.. it's coming....... If this is the first time you are planning to visit this place to sing.. DON'T DO IT.. unless you wanted to wait 3 hours to sing 1 song only Not sure if this is because we are not from here and there is some kind of xenophobic with foreigners

I ordered veggie burger, baked potato with egg mayo and coffee latte. Baked potato serv with salad taste medium. Veggie burger serv with salad and chips. -Chips was very tasty, although it was clear that no one had peeled the potatoes. -Salad was medium tasty. -In burger too much tomato salsa. The salsa overpowered the taste of the veggie pâté, so i didn't even get to taste the taste of the pâté. I'm glad the pate wasn't spicy. Coffee latte was tasty. My table was clean but lightly sticky. The waitress was very nice and caring. It was a pleasure.

Interesting place. Restaurant, bar, karaoke, dance floor. It is quite unique and won't appeal to everybody. I liked it though, it is different and David and the girls were great. If you don't mind the unusual palette of colours and materials, with greenish-blueish, purple, and grey contrasting with black wood panels, the food is not bad for a pub/bar&restaurant. Disco lights in dancing area and cute little chandeliers in dining area, it's actually quite cool. It also had a lovely mix of upbeat music. I had the locally sourced battered haddock served with salad, fries, tartare sauce & peas. Washed down with a pint of Loch Ness lager. But make no mistake, the true monster was the fish. It was enormous and actually pretty good! Chocolate fudge cake was okish. If you look for a gastronomic experience, of course don't go there. But if you want some food, reasonable good and well priced in a different setting, give it a go. Good for an informal gathering with friends and a bit if fun!

Great place to go for food with vegan options. Great beer on tap. Staff were super friendly and welcoming and kept the kitchen open for us as we arrived late. In the evening it turns into a dance floor with great music and vibes. Really liked the place and the people who worked there.

Amazing restaurant with even more amazing owners. We stopped in after arriving from Edinburgh and were starving! Rebecca seated us quickly and was so incredibly friendly. Both her and her father Robert are an amazing team and made our lunch so enjoyable, not to mention the food and drinks were absolutely delicious. I have made a vow to return in a year!! Definitely a good place to stop.

Lauders is a classic and straightforward pub with TVs and projection screens that broadcast live sports events. It's been described as an 'old man's pub' but has proven to be a great find, offering a welcoming atmosphere and comfortable seating. Visitors have praised the friendly service, down-to-earth ambiance, and the sense of community among patrons. The bar offers good beer, half-price cocktails on weekends, and tasty pizza.
We had so much fun here! Ed was super knowledgeable of the pubs history and it was lovely to hear the pub is still in the family : )

Had an amazing time at Lauders thanks to the outstanding service from Amy and Jaye. From the moment we walked in, they were both full incredibly welcoming, friendly and full of energy - exactly what you want for a Sunday sesh! Amy was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Jaye brought such a fun positive vibe to the bar and was happy to recommend drinks, all with a big smile. You can really tell they both love what they do and it made a huge difference to our experience. It's rare to find service this genuine and upbeat they truly went above and beyond. Massive shout out to both Amy and Jaye for making our visit memorable. We'll definitely be back!

Lauders is hands down one of the best pubs in the city. From the moment you walk in you’re welcomed with a warm, friendly atmosphere and great service. The staff are always cheerful and attentive, making sure everyone feels right at home. Drink selection is fantastic, with a solid range of beers, whiskeys and cocktails at very reasonable prices. Whether you’re after a quiet pint or a lively night out, lauders delivers everytime!.

Not a bad place at all. We were in town for 1 day only and had beers and pizza at the bar. Barman was quite friendly and pizza was superb! 🍕 Only downside I'd say was the sticky table and bathrooms that was a bit dirty. Other than that a good experience.

Perk Coffee + Doughnuts in Inverness, Scotland, is a delightful spot that exceeds expectations with its delicious drinks and food. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of chaos and gentle vibes, and the staff's herculean effort and coordination to meet customer demands are impressive. Visitors are greeted with a warm welcome from the super-friendly staff who even share recommendations for places to see outside of Inverness.
Wow, this place exceeded my expectations! I came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning around opening, and I was as surprised at how quiet it was. But that was good for me to find a spot to dine in. I had a chicken and cheese pastry, flat white, and a mango custard doughnut. The pastry was served warmed and it was by far the best pastry of that type I have ever eaten! It was generously filled with chicken and the pastry was fresh. The doughnut was also soft and fluffy with a delicious custard. The service was friendly, and helpful in making suggestions on what to get. I highly recommend this place, and yes, like another reviewer mentioned, it definitely has Brooklyn, NYC vibes!

I am from Melbourne Aus. Coffee is important in our city. We are coffee snobs. This cafe has the best coffee I’ve had during my travels in Europe. I felt like I was back at home. The food is also really good. Loved the granola and toasties. Did not get the chance to try the doughnuts but they were really popular and looked amazing. Went here everyday during my stay and didn’t even consider trying other cafes 😂

Great coffee, reminds me of the coffee back home in Australia. The donuts are fresh and tasty. Came back two days in a row for their coffee and toasties. The toasties take about 6-10mins to heat up and they are very yummy.

Fabulous vegan donuts today, biscotti and a blueberry one. Delicious. And at weekends they have vegan pastries too. Really too good to miss!!

We made a quick stop at Perk Doughnuts going through Inverness. The staff was very nice and friendly. There were 6 doughnut flavors available and we tried the Fudge Judy (caramel custard filled) and vegan peachy keen (peach compote filled). I'm not vegan but I thought the peachy keen doughnut was excellent. It wasn't noticeably different from a conventional doughnut and the peach compote is excellent.

Best doughnut and chai tea I have ever had. Doughnuts are handmade fresh every day - they are so light and airy. Just a delightful treat! The chai tea was not overpowering and very smooth, yet rich and creamy!!

Lovely little cafe! So good we came back the next day too! The hot chocolate and americano coffee were very good! We especially liked the chicken chorizo & spicy mayo with cheddar and rocket toastie. Very tasty! The donuts and croissants are also amazing with some vegan options too! Definitely a must stop when in Inverness.

My go-to donut spot in Inverness! I’ve been here a few times and always recommend it to anyone craving a good donut in Inverness. They’re so soft, fluffy, and just so yummy. This time, I dropped by half an hour before closing and the staff were still so welcoming! no rush, no side-eye. I had a cuppa and the sugar & lemon donut… 🧑‍🍳💋Still as good as ever

The Walrus & Corkscrew is a charming and dog-friendly wine bar located in the old town of Inverness. It offers a wide variety of wines, with a knowledgeable staff to help you choose the perfect one to complement your meal. The food options include delicious platters of local smoked meats and an assortment of cheese platters, including vegan options. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make it a favorite spot for both wine enthusiasts and non-drinkers alike.
A Cozy Gem in Inverness We spent the last night of our short stay in Inverness at The Walrus & the Corkscrew, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we stepped inside, we felt instantly cozy and welcomed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. What truly made our evening special was sharing a couple of glasses of red wine with great company. The wine selection was lovely, and each sip added to the relaxed, intimate vibe of the place. The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall charm of the evening. If you’re looking for a welcoming, comfortable spot in Inverness to enjoy good drinks and a relaxed ambiance, The Walrus & the Corkscrew is definitely the place to be. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already looking forward to our next visit!

A curious wee wine bar in one of the oldest parts of Inverness. The staff were informative and helpful and obviously knew their stuff. The food looked good but we only had drinks.

Nice wine bar on side street in Inverness. Excellent selection of wines by bottle and glass. Wine flight good price. When asked for second wine flight told it was one per person, which in the menu states ‘one flight per person when busy’ - lots of tables free on a Tuesday early evening when I was there, was not busy, so don’t understand this rule? Meat/cheese sharing plate was lovely.

On the evening of my last night in Inverness, I chose The Walrus & Corkscrew. I sat outside with my back against the wall. There were tables on my right and left. The waiter placed the menu on the table, I was in no rush so I waited a moment. A seagull chose to target me with Good Luck. I heard and saw a splatter on the menu but it was clear in color. Feeling uncomfortable, I reached for the side of my pants with my left hand to find seagull Good Luck . The girl sitting nearby gave me napkins and the waiter guided me to the restroom to freshen up. I sat indoors to enjoy the cheese platter with Scotch. My return flight to Philadelphia was smooth, no delays, no problems. Vhuntermassage LLC

Lovely wine bar, fabulous selection of interesting wines and I love that they offer the flight option so you can try a few. Our server was beaut, attentive and bubbly, we felt well looked after. Only downside is the seating is pretty awkward, I think with a rethink it would be a better fit.

Excellent spot for wine and a tasty snack, which ended up being much more filling than we thought it would be. Cold meat and cheese board were delicious. Added a scotch egg which was oh so good. So much wine choice so we had the 3 glasses “fight” which was also excellent. Great service. If you see it and think should I, do!!

My sister and I have been here several times. This trip to Inverness, we have been to the Walrus and Corkscrew every day. The wine menu is extensive. The small plates and sharing plates are delicious. Staff have been very, very friendly. We would like to give a special mention to Tomi, our server of the day. He is extremely friendly, helpful, fun, and knowledgeable. This has become one of our favorite experiences in Inverness.
Candace B — Google review
Warm and friendly owner and we were lucky to get a comfortable table with a bench decorated with colourful cushions and a rug. Plenty to tempt us from the wine list and we enjoyed our bottle of red very much. A small business owned by someone who cares and has made a very cosy and enjoyable spot to while away a few hours with friends over a decent glass of wine.

Nestled in Inverness, Scotland, The Wee Bar is a charming spot where visitors can enjoy an array of delightful experiences. Guests praise the attentive service from staff members who are knowledgeable about their wide selection of whiskeys and curated cocktails.
Great place. Book early gets busy. Great wine list and bar. Menu based on local produce. Staff are attentive without being pushy and service was great. Good table layout so even when busy you feel quite private. Would go again for sure. The Venison and Skye Crab were delicious.

An exceptional bar, The Wee Bar was fantastic in drink, atmosphere, and people watching as folks walk by along River Ness. Our bartender was very knowledgeable and took the time to chat through whisky options with us before we made our choices. The cocktails are phenomenal - don't sleep on the Coffee Reserve which was so delicious I wish I had one right now. The bar is a bit easy to miss - the door is nestled between the awnings for the same steak shop. A neon arrow pointing to the door would do wonders. That said, if you do pass it I recommend turning around. You won't be disappointed!

Please never change!! This place is pure gold for people who want a true whisky-lovers retreat in the heart of Inverness, with views of the river & castle (and, on the right night, a big full moon). It’s like a Scottish-New Orleans speakeasy in the best possible way, with an elegant atmosphere, including film noir movies & soulful blues playing in the background, and an extensive Scottish whisky selection, and cocktail menu to appeal to a variety of tastes. Dima, their barkeep, is skilled, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. We will absolutely seek this place out the next time we’re this side of the pond!

I have been here for the second time. It is simply a great place to enjoy good gin, cocktails, and whiskey. The cocktails are perfectly mixed, there is a great selection of gins, and the corresponding tonic waters are also available. The atmosphere and view of the river are very beautiful, simply a place to have a cocktail after dinner, or to have one before dinner, or to start the night out. Oh I almost forgot the serve nice beer too.

A boujee cocktail bar on the first floor of a building, with fantastic views of the castle and the bridge leading to the High Street. The interior is stylish and elegant, with a classy atmosphere and beautifully chosen furniture. The cocktails are excellent, and it’s especially lovely to visit at sunset as the light falls across the city.
Cooper D — Google review
It truly is wee; you probably don't need a reservation, but I'd get one to avoid disappointment. Great whisky and cocktail selection, but the gin & tonic pairings are revelatory and I highly recommend them. Incredible service. My only complaint was a too-small serving of fries to soak up all the gin I wanted to put in my belly!

We stumbled into this bar while we're in Inverness & had the absolute best time. Wanted to spend NYE in here but was SO Loud, I'm in my 30s and been to many gigs but this was genuinely painful for my ears. People around us were stuffing tissue in their ears just to bear the noise. We had to leave after 3 songs. Support act (pictured) was great and helped create a great atmosphere before the onslaught of the main act. Pub is small so don't know why they needed all the speakers, they even said after the first song they were asked to turn it down but honestly I think they turned it up. Difficult to get to the bar when busy. Found better alternative to celebrate NYE. Shame as I wanted to stay in this one.

As it's upstairs, you'd NEVER go to this wee place, by accident. One of the local musicians suggested we go, so glad we did. This is a small, packed but fantastic place. The antithesis of a 'chain' but unquestionably, what visiting a Bar in the Highlands should be all about. The Singer Robin was very different, everyone was signing along and loving it. Inverness now has lots of 'must go to' pubs. This is one of them.

DO NOT GO HERE I went here with a friend and we were physically and verbally harassed by multiple older men at the bar and staff did not seem to care in the slightest. This potentially cosy bar is ruined by the disgusting regulars who get away with inappropriate behaviour.

VERY Helpful Bartender! She helped me with my Bucket list... Drink a single malt scotch Whisky while in Scotland! It was shortly after 9:AM just as the Keg opened and I got my Whisky and pounded it down in one gulp then and there; the keen patrons of the Keg said you should sip it, but she agreed it was OK since I had to RUN back to the bus! Moira was behind the bar and made us feel right at home. We arrived looking for food so she walked us out to the street and gave us directions. We came right back for our after dinner drinks. It was pretty empty but she let us know it is normally full of a regular local crowd. She then gave us great recommendations for the next stop on our travels.

Nearly refused service when I got my drink as the boss told me I was too young even after I showed my age in my drivers license even then I had to get my mates and i am older than one of them by a couple of months I still got refused then the boss asked if I had a credit card or passport for proof I don’t carry my passport nor do I like the idea of a credit card as I don’t think it’s a great thing. I got treated hostile and was more concerned about my LEGAL drivers license getting taken away from me for no reason I highly not recommend if you are young and passing by as you will feel like a outcast when you are trying to get a drink in the pub. I never post reviews but after this experience I was not happy with the attitude towards me even though I proved my age prior to my drink

A drunk walked around the corner and ran into me while I was looking at my map. He (playfully) scolded me for standing right at the corner of a building. He smelled like whiskey so I asked him where the bar was. He pointed and said he just came out of a wee one but I don’t want to go there because it’s all grumpy old men. So of course I had to go. It was an older local crowd, but definitely not grumpy. Bartenders were attentive and courteous. Crowd was a lot of fun. Had the best time!

What a wonderful little shop! We felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. We were looking for specific items and Constantino explained tartans, kilts, accessories, etc very well to us and guided us to what we were looking for. Constantino obviously loves what he does and is very good at it! We highly recommend this shop for all your Scottish wear.

I went into house of highlands on Tuesday looking for a jacket and vest for a wedding. This was one of the last places I was checking on my list and I was running out of options since every kilt related shop in Inverness only sells the same jackets in black or a prince charlie. Constantino was amazing, he let me try on the jackets and vests and ordered in a vest with a matching colour to my jacket of choice and my kilt and made alterations that best suited my size all by Saturday in the same week! Fantastic service!!! Ill be back soon for sure!!!!

What an elegant and informative shopping experience! Constantine is extraordinarily helpful, friendly, and so very knowledgeable of every item in the establishment!! We can not thank him enough, you can certainly tell he loves what he does and he does it well!!!

I have been to see Constantino TWICE in the last six months. He is an exquisite human with a big heart and fantastic attention to detail. I traveled from Indiana to the Highlands for high quality, personal touch, and authentic attire for my purchases only to be blown away by his kindness and eye for style. His shop has many unique items with great variety. I will recommend him again and again! Don’t just take my word for it, go see him yourself!

Constantino is truly one of the best in the business. I came to him as a woman looking to incorporate my family’s tartan into my future, and my word, did he deliver. What followed was a masterclass in tailoring — craftsmanship, care, and delivery, all executed to perfection. No one will make you feel more comfortable or more valued as a customer. Constantino remembers your face, your story, and your values — and he weaves all of that into every stitch. If you’re looking for quality, heart, and heritage sewn together, choose House of Highland.

If you're after £500 of cashmere blanket then this is your place, although it would only get you one. A few souvenirs and a lot of clothing items make it a pleasant store for a browse so nothing to complain about
Juan — Google review
I tried to return an item literally 10 minutes after I bought it because the store a couple doors down had an exact match for what I wanted. This store refused to refund the item even though it was still unopened in the box with the receipt from 10 minutes earlier. Buyer beware.

Extremely rude blonde haired woman working. Went in looking for socks and found some in a bin, every pair was already open and the woman saw me holding them and came over and yelled at us for having them open, pointed to the sign on a completely different sock rack, and grabbed them from me. Plenty of shops in the area selling the same stuff, go anywhere else.

Scottish restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Old Town, Blackfriars Restaurant boasts a rich history, housed within a charming building that dates back to 1793. Recently refurbished, this popular spot not only serves as a vibrant bar but also offers an inviting dining experience and cozy accommodations with nine boutique bedrooms. Whether you're looking to unwind with a drink, savor a delicious meal, or indulge in a relaxing getaway, Blackfriars is the perfect destination for both locals and travelers alike.
Julia was a sweetheart! A little pricey but really good! Best tartar sauce!

We stopped here for an early dinner and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the pub. They had a roast beef special that came with 5 sides for 18.95, so we both tried it. The yorkshire pudding was very good, and the carrots were good. However, the roast beef was fine, but my grandson had some tougher pieces. Overall the service and ambiance were very good and for the price we paid the food was good.

I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from another place. The food was okay, but the service was very slow. They seemed to be understaffed, and it took a long time to receive both our food and the bill. Additionally, the music was very low, and I could barely hear it, which affected the overall atmosphere.

Went to Blackfriars on a local recommendation and were pleasantly surprised. It was quite empty when we arrived, but the food was excellent - we had the chicken burger, beef burger, and haggis-stuffed chicken, all really tasty. Service was great too - Julia was lovely and made us feel welcome. The only small quirk was the uneven wooden table, which made the plates a bit wobbly - maybe just me, but it felt a little odd while eating. Still, a very nice experience overall.

Julia, our server was great. She helped me order and was super attentive to allergies. Food... well, we got the roast and it tasted like I poured an entire jar of salt into my mouth with each bite. Which is a shame because it would have been delicious otherwise.

It took them an hour and two separate requests to make chicken nuggets and fries for kids. When the nuggets finally came, they were so spicy that the kids didn't want to eat them. Kids had to eat at home, after we paid 9 pounds/portion for nuggets!! Food for the adults took more than an hour even though it wasn't especially crowded. And quality was mediocre at best. I would have made better food as a halfdecent homechef. Still I had to pay 18 pounds!!! to get some tasteless mashed potatoes and tasteless dry chicken, no vegetables. By far the worst and most overpriced restaurant I've ever visited. I feel like I was robbed, considering the prices and quality. Stay away from this place!

Friendly staff. Service was not slow. Unfortunately the food was not great. I did like the haggis with whiskey sauce as a starter but my partner had the Cullen skink that felt a bit cheap. We had the Cullen skink before in another town and that had loads of fish. The main was a disaster. Ordered the steak pie but it was not a pie. It was just a stew in a stone bowl with a separate sort of crusty bread on top. The vegetables that came with it were obviously out of tin can and did not taste great.

DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS MCDONALD'S IS CLOSED. It was not crowded. We sat down. It took 15 minutes to finally flag down a waitress, who was ignoring us. We ordered. After 35 minutes, I asked when I would get my food. Other tables, who came in after us, got their food, and at 40 minutes, they said the chef had "lost our order", he was working on it and it would be out very quickly. At one hour past ordering, I should have walked out. I asked again, and at 1 hour and 5 minutes, we finally got our food. We asked to speak to a manager, but "he was not there". We got the weakest of apologies, and as I ate, I discovered they had burned my food. Next time this happens, anywhere, I will get up and walk out. No apology when we paid, in fact, she said nothing.
