Nestled in the heart of South Africa's wine country, Mont Rochelle offers a luxurious retreat with stunning views and top-notch amenities. This five-star hotel boasts 26 lavish rooms set against the backdrop of the Klein Dassenberg Mountain Range. Guests can indulge in award-winning wines from the hotel's vineyard while enjoying personalized service and a peaceful atmosphere. The accommodations feature a blend of contemporary, classic, and colonial designs, providing an old-world charm with modern comforts.
We stayed for 2 nights at the manor house and we absolutely loved it! The property was so beautiful, it was quiet and we almost literally have the entire place to ourselves! Breakfast was sumptuous - the French toast is a must! Service was excellent - guest relations manager Peter made us felt so welcomed! He felt like an old friend you haven’t seen for a while! Hotel provides free shuttle to Franschhoek and that was really convenient! We will definitely be back!

Our stay at Mont Rochelle was absolutely incredible! The property is beautiful with breathtaking views, and the food was fresh and delicious. The staff were amazing — so warm and attentive — and made our honeymoon truly special. The rooms were cozy, comfortable, and spotless. We loved the convenient shuttle service into town and relaxing by the pool with the best views in Franschhoek. Even the small gym was well-equipped. An unforgettable stay that we were sad to leave!

It was my 40th Birthday Celebration for 30 guests and Mont Rochelle really excelled themselves, their whole team made it an amazing occasion for me, with friendly & efficient service. With such a fine setting and the most beautiful views in Franschhoek to top off the event it was a day to remember. A special thanks to Kurt the F&B manager for organising the event as well as Executive chef Terrence for his most delicious meals. A big thank you to the entire team of Mont Rochelle.
Ahmed B — Google review
We celebrated a pre-Father's Day evening with a table of eight guests. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I ordered a Margherita, which lacked flavor, balance, and wasn’t chilled adequately—neither my wife, another guest, nor I drank it. Although I mentioned this to the waiter, the response was simply an apology with no further action taken. The beetroot tartare starter was average at best—nothing special. For my main course, I ordered the lamb. It arrived rare with unrendered fat, making it less enjoyable. The mash was only warm, and the accompanying jus was thick and gloopy, certainly not a proper wine jus. While the waiter offered to cook the lamb further, by that time I had already eaten one of the three pieces. No dessert was ordered. The restaurant was busy, and I saw no active manager on the floor—only the waiters attending tables. It was my first time there, but based on this experience, it’s not somewhere I will hurry back to. Overall, the food quality and service did not meet our expectations.

We stayed at Mont Rochelle during the first leg of our honeymoon and couldn't have had a better start to the trip. The staff, location, amenities, room and food (MIKO) all far exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend the wine tasting as well! Plus, Franschoek is a wonderful town with plenty of amazing restaurants. I'm sure we will be back to Mont Rochelle next time we're in Cape Town!

What a sad way to end off my Franschoek wine tram experience … Such an amazing view, but lazy, unenthusiastic staff, a lacking cheese platter, no give at all (not even music at the seating) and mediocre wine. Very unfortunate for the else ting that they have, they can do much better. If you are doing the Franschoek wine tram, be sure to skip this one, it’s a waste of money
Terrence F — Google review
Had a wine tasting and meal. Service was outstanding. Effort was very knowledgeable but spoke a little too quick. Would highly recommend.
Gary V — Google review
This was my favourite wine estate on the Franschoek Wine Tram (Red line). The wines were impeccable (the Syrah was the star of the show for me). We visited the Miko Restaurant on this day, tastings usually take place in the Country Kitchen (just as beautiful). Miko Restaurant is beautiful and classy with phenomenal views. I will definitely visit this wine estate again. Thank you to Revai for an unforgettable wine tasting experience on very rainy day!

La Residence is an exclusive hotel located on a wine estate in the serene Franschhoek Valley. Part of the esteemed Royal Portfolio group, this luxurious hideaway offers 16 uniquely decorated suites and villas with a touch of rustic elegance and French flair. The attention to detail and top-notch customer service create a homely yet opulent atmosphere. Guests can indulge in high-end dining overseen by Chef Greg Henderson, featuring a menu of classics and personalized dishes.
A Magical Lunch What an absolute treat! My dear friend Adele (birthday girl) and I had the most wonderful lunch at La Residence. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the views and elegance. The service was impeccable—warm, attentive, and authentically polished. Simone, Janita & Miska are stunning. Our meals were delicious, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. We sipped on the estate Rose and refreshing Paloma cocktails, which were the perfect accompaniment to a relaxed afternoon. Every detail made us feel like we were in a dream.

We booked a high tea, and the staff was amazing. The options we got for the high tea were not that great, though. I've seen better, but the property is very beautiful. I'm definitely coming back in summer for another experience.

They steal from the safe in the room. We were in this hotel from November 22 to November 25, 2024, in a group of 18 people. Five people in the group had money stolen from their rooms from safes at different times, ranging from $1,200 to $3,200 each. The hotel administration, headed by Mr. Greg, did nothing to stop the theft. Although the hotel guaranteed the safety of the money in the hotel room safe. They are probably waiting for other hotel guests to be robbed too. So think before you go to this beautiful place where you will be robbed in your room! December 17, 2024 addendum as a response to the hotel owner. I really hope that you will investigate these thefts and find the thieves. You did not offer to go to the police and did not let us look at the surveillance cameras to see who entered our rooms when we were not there and when the thieves got into the hotel safe. I have proof of this in the form of audio and video recordings. My post is a warning to all people as a reminder to be careful when checking into your hotel. Also, my post is an assumption that the hotel employees are involved in the thefts, since you, Mr. Greg and your manager, did not want to show us who entered and robbed the safes in our rooms when we were not there.

We had a wonderful stay in the three-bedroom vineyard suite. Part of The Royal Portfolio's collection, the suite was tastefully decorated, offering a blend of luxury and a comfortable, homely feel. As a family of five, we especially appreciated how welcome children were – a rarity in luxury accommodation. The staff went above and beyond, even providing our children with art activities during breakfast. The suite was well-equipped (mini-bar, Nespresso), and breakfast was conveniently close. Complimentary transfers to Franschhoek were a bonus, and the staff's thoughtfulness (umbrellas in the rain!) was notable. Highly recommended.

I am still dreaming of this place!! My husband and I went there for our honeymoon a couple years back and now after being at other boutique hotels I felt compelled to write a review. NO where stacks up to this place. The attention and treatment you get from staff 10/10. The food 10/10 everything is fresh and if you don’t see something in the buffet you like they have a wonderful breakfast menu all free!! Still my favorite hotel three years later.

Disappointing Experience at La Résidence Our stay at La Résidence in Franschhoek left much to be desired, particularly in terms of service, facilities, and overall guest experience. One of the key reasons we chose this property was the advertised availability of bicycles for both adults and children. However, upon arrival, no bicycles were provided at our suite. When we raised this issue, the hotel eventually arranged bicycles, but they admitted they did not have children’s bicycles and had to rent them externally. To our surprise, the bicycles were removed after less than an hour of use and never returned during the remainder of our stay. For a luxury hotel, this lack of preparation and service was incredibly disappointing. Another major concern is the safety and security at the property. After reading other reviews about incidents such as safes being broken into and valuables going missing, I have to say I am not surprised. During our stay, we saw no visible security presence on the property apart from a single guard at the gate. This lack of security raises serious questions about guest safety, and I strongly urge the hotel to address this issue to reassure future guests. Finally, I was appalled by the hotel’s decision to falsely accuse my children of damaging items in our suite. This accusation was completely unfounded and no evidence was provided to support it. My children were understandably upset by this baseless claim, and it is deeply concerning that the hotel would make such allegations without proof. Overall, our stay at La Résidence was disappointing on multiple levels. For a property with such a high reputation and price point, we expected a far higher standard of service, transparency, and accountability. Sadly, these expectations were not met.

I was once advised that the difference between great and excellence is an inch of effort. The Dining Room exemplifies this philosophy because they go far beyond what most would do. I was rather shocked at how gracious and skilled they all were. I was feeling rather unwell that night and they went out of their way to make me comfortable. From the greeting to the wait staff to the manager. The decor and ambience are epic and the food magnificent. They have set a new bar in my life about what service can be. Many thanks.

One of the most exclusive boutique hotels I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying. The staff was so attentive, the views phenomenal, and the very private suites. If you are looking to feel like a true “guest”, look no further than this property.

What a home from home. It was the most perfect stay. Our suite was amazing with every detail thought of. The breakfast was delicious and every taste catered for. The staff were so friendly and informative about the local history, restaurant choices and even trips to wineries.

We had a wonderful 1 night stay over the Bastille Festival weekend. This guesthouse is beautifully decorated and super comfortable. Its very central but also peaceful. Above all the service is next level thanks to Carloff and the lady who checked us in. The breakfast was delicious and generous. Great value to be enjoyed here.

We stayed at Avondrood Guest House for a part of our honeymoon and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, everyone was so warm, welcoming, and attentive. The team had fantastic recommendations for things to do and places to eat in Franschhoek, which made our trip even more special. Our room was beautiful — spacious, with warm decor that made it feel both elegant and cozy. Breakfast was excellent, with a lovely mix of buffet options and freshly prepared hot dishes. We also really appreciated the honesty bar, and how attentive the staff were throughout our stay. Avondrood truly felt like a home away from home, and we’ll always remember our time here with gratitude. Highly recommend!

A True Gem in Franschhoek – Perfection in Every Detail! Our stay at Avondrood Guest House was simply unforgettable! From the moment we stepped into this beautifully restored Victorian house, we felt welcomed by its warm and inviting atmosphere. The hosts have masterfully combined traditional charm with modern comfort, creating an exceptional experience. The rooms are spacious, elegantly decorated, and filled with thoughtful details – from cozy bathrobes to fresh flowers. Breakfast was an absolute highlight: freshly prepared, varied, and featuring delicious local specialties that left nothing to be desired. What truly sets this place apart is the outstanding service. The team was incredibly attentive and seemed to anticipate our every need before we even had to ask. Whether it was arranging dinner reservations, sharing personalized tips for exploring the region, or simply ensuring we felt completely at home – their dedication and care were remarkable. The garden area with its inviting pool offers the perfect retreat to unwind after a day of exploring Franschhoek. The location is also ideal – peaceful yet within walking distance of the town’s charming restaurants and shops. We would book Avondrood Guest House definitely again!!! 5 out of 5 stars – simply perfect!

What a gem of a hotel. It is the perfect place to explore the Vinelands. This was our second stop as part of our honeymoon - the host and welcome was fantastic, the hotel and room are charming and the location is ideal. It was very nice to be able to walk to a number of restaurants in town.

This is so much more than a luxurious guest house. It’s a home from home. The staff make it so special and they simply cannot do enough for you. They are so genuine and caring! The rooms are luxuriously appointed with all the comforts you need during your stay. The gardens are kept absolutely beautifully. The breakfasts and cheese platters are delicious and lovingly prepared. We have stayed 4 times now and every time we go to S Africa we will definitely stay there. Special mentions to Karloff, Juvelie, Jamie-Lee and Justin. We send our love and thanks.

Perfectly located within walking distance of pubs, restaurants and shops yet quiet and peaceful, this gorgeous little gem was sprinkled with the loveliest, most accommodating staff. Juveline is one of the reasons we will come back here. Not to mention the jacuzzi, fireplace and Honesty Bar. Amazing experience, thank you so much!

The hotel's elegant Cape Huguenot design combines classic and contemporary furnishings, creating a sophisticated interior. This is such a beautiful place, exactly what we had been looking for. It's a shame that we only stayed there one night. The level of comfort is very high, the design, choice of material and furniture is top notch. The service really is 10/10. The pool is very small but very clean, and very pretty. It is very pleasant to be able to take a dip or lie down on the sunbeds. We never heard any noise at night, beds are very comfortable, pillows as well. The rooms and bathroom are very spacious, it is luxury but with good taste. The breakfast was INCREDIBLE. I can only strongly recommend this place which is also located in the center of this very pleasant little town. PS: Check the pictures and video I took, and judge by yourself. Thank you The Last Word Franschkoek.

Excellent place to stay! Big thanks to the hard working Franklin and the whole team to care for all the little things. The rooms, the breakfast, the location and of course the hospitality were all perfect. Definitely recommend

What a gem! Absolutely loved our stay here! Our room was incredibly spacious (we booked a pool suite), and the service we received from Conrad and Franklin was excellent. Their breakfasts are very good with a lovely selection and they accommodated us in all ways (such as with almond milk, etc). The hotel is also nice and central, which is a perfect walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

We had a great time here, the team (in particular Francis) are outstanding - we felt so well looked after. The rooms are lovely and we used to enjoy coming back in the evening to a warm hot water bottle and a little treat on the pillows. A special place. We would happily stay again (and hope we someday will) 🙏

We had an incredible stay at the Last World in Franschoek. It was a perfect location, walkable to all the town shops and the wine tram. The staff was absolutely outstanding throughout our stay and made us feel very special during our time. The morning breakfast service and food was top notch and I would highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely boutique hotel right in the Main Street. Service was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had some issues with water pressure in the shower but this was due to water pipe works in the town so it couldn’t be helped.

A little gem. Staff gracious and attentive. Great eye for detail and treating their guests with great hospitality and thoughtful gestures. For instance, hot water bottles under the blankets on chilly nights along with creme brulee snack.

Akademie Street Boutique Hotel and Guest House is an elegant establishment situated in the Franschhoek Wine Valley. It offers upscale accommodation with a range of amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi and a welcoming glass of champagne upon arrival. The property features outdoor pools and is conveniently located just 300 meters from the Franschhoek monument. The hotel boasts luxurious suites and traditional cottages, some with private swimming pools, all set among beautiful gardens offering views of the Cape Winelands mountains.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Akademie on our honeymoon. The location is perfect- walking distance to restaurants, shops, cafes, but the property feels secluded and quiet. The whole staff provided excellent service and went above and beyond. The rooms are beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the complimentary happy hour drinks, especially the evening with a pianist. All-around a lovely hotel!

Easily the finest boutique hotel we have ever stayed in. Every need is anticipated, with service beyond reproach. Highlights include the fire-warmed hot tub, meals in a beautifully renovated atrium, and spacious, luxurious rooms. A flawless five-star experience.

The BEST hotel we’ve ever stayed in. The attention to detail is second to the none. The facilities are wonderful and the staff are incredible. Declan has so much passion for the hotel, it really is an experience rather than just another stay in a hotel. We cannot wait to go back and visit again!
Adam R — Google review
Can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay here. We booked Akademie Street for 5 days leading up to our wedding and as someone who likes hotels, this was one of my favorite stays ever. I stayed in a smaller room for my first two nights and moved into one of the suites once my fiance arrived. Both rooms were impeccably decorated, well maintained and not a speck of dust to be seen. The pool area was so relaxing that we actually found it difficult to want to leave the hotel and Declan’s attention to detail here was so appreciated. Hats and sunscreen for everyone was such a thoughtful touch. The staff could not have been nicer and eager to help at any given time - whether it was placing a take out order, grabbing a drink or a snack or lighting the fire for the wood burning jacuzzis (another fabulous touch). Over and over again I was blown away by the attention to detail and personal touches - one afternoon we were enjoying a bottle of rosé that we had brought with us at the pool. The hotel does not stock rose as one of their wines but about 30 minutes later a staff member brought us a bottle she had gone and picked up and said they had noticed that we were drinking rosé and wanted to grab us a bottle. Upon our departure a bottle of MCC was delivered to our room to wish us well for our wedding. Truly unreal service. The breakfast was also excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the cocktail spread and wine selection set out in each night. A 10/10 stay and cannot wait to return to this absolutely stunning place.

One of the top 3 hotels I have ever stayed in. Declan and his team take it to another level with the service, quality of accommodation and attention to detail. Nothing is too much trouble. Everything is beautiful and exactly on point. Could not find a single fault - not that I was trying to. I was too busy enjoying the banter and happy atmosphere. Highly recommend.
SA U — Google review
This place is heaven on earth! Declan and the whole team did a superb job to ensure we had the most amazing stay. All the decor and the room we stayed in was stunning and have so much character. The complementary room minibar and evening happy hour was a lovely touch and where do I begin with their breakfast!? Incredible! One of the best places we've ever stayed at and we only wish we'd stayed longer.
H R — Google review
This was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in, and a unique experience we will never forget. The room (Oort B in our case) was pure charm and luxury. It’s rare to find a hotel room where so much thought and attention has been given to every detail of one’s stay. Particular highlights: freestanding copper bath, wood-fired hot tub, huge and comfortable beds catering for all temperature preferences, a fully stocked (and complimentary) mini bar, internal wood burning stove, a music system, and the list goes on, but I’ll leave some magic for you to discover for yourself. Declan and the team were warm and welcoming hosts, and no request was ever too much for them. Declan welcomes his guests like old friends, and his love for the hotel shines through. The team hosts a magnificent breakfast service in the orangerie, where we also enjoyed aperitif listening to a pianist as well as a nightcap (or two!) in front of an open fire. Bikes, towels, pétanque, sun hats, pools, etc are all available for guests to enjoy. The hotel is located on a quiet and charming street near Franschhoek Main Street. Easy walking distance to everything in town, and totally safe day and night. Couldn’t ask for better.

Auberge Clermont is a charming country guesthouse situated on a historic farm in the picturesque Franschhoek Valley. The property offers elegant accommodations, including a romantic honeymoon suite, surrounded by stunning mountains and just a kilometer away from the village center. Guests can enjoy an outdoor pool, tennis court, and sample the award-winning olive oil and wines produced from their own grape blends.
We had a very nice, super clean, lovely and well equipped room. We can absolutely recommend this place for young families as we got a baby cot, a baby chair and a bathtub for our little daughter. The view on the mountains was breathtaking. We liked the location very much since it was very calm and relaxing but also close to Franschhoek’s main area. Breakfast is very lekker :) We definitely could have spent more days at this fantastic place!

We stayed in the villa and loved: - the charm and history and quality of materials from over 150 years ago; - the incredible natural beauty of the valley and the farm itself - the ease of access to Franschhoek; - the feeling that we had our own little home, with two of us renting the two rooms in the downstairs we also had a kitchen, living room, dining room and washing machine. Bliss! - price was really reasonable -it was a great refuge when torrential rain prevented some of our other planned activities!

Simply stunning. Words aren't enough. Possibly the closest wine farm to the town..a 5min stroll. The mountain views are incomparable to anything else in SA.

To put simply it’s a Vineyard Oasis with Stunning Views & Warm Hospitality. Arriving in Franschhoek just before wineries closed, we were delighted when Auberge Clermont arranged a last-minute wine blending workshop for us. Our charming loft-style room offered breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards, making it hard to leave. The spacious room and spotless bathroom provided a comfortable and luxurious stay. The delicious breakfast and leisurely morning walks through the vineyards added to the enchanting experience. Our only regret was not having more time to enjoy this tranquil oasis. The host's warm hospitality and attention to detail made our stay truly memorable. We can't wait to return!

Beautiful and calm place. The moment we arrived the view took our breath away. It was golden hour and we arrived to an uninterrupted view of the valley bathed in golden light. As a photographer, it was heaven. The Auberge Clermont is tucked away a little so it feels like you're the only people in Franschhoek; calm and peaceful with two pools and charming rooms. Hosts were great and allowed us to stay a little longer the next day too. I'd definitely return here and have already recommended it to friends.

This place is heaven on earth! We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and it was possibly the stand out stay of our trip along the garden route! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the breakfast was lovely and the room was fabulous. The views are second to none! Every time we opened the door we were blown away by the view in front of us of the mountains. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Kent M — Google review
What a stunning place this is. I had an incredible stay, probably the best of my stays in South Africa, in which I stayed in 5 other hotels/guest houses. The scenery is beautiful, the breakfast is delicious and fresh, there are tennis courts and a swimming pool and all of the staff were so friendly. They also have 2 very friendly dogs who enjoy your company. The rooms were beautiful as well. They were well equipped for the winter with underfloor heating and general heating as well. Despite the power cuts going on in the area, they had their own generators to ensure you still had electricity. The only thing to bare in mind is that is a little way into town and not the best to walk in the dark. However, there are lots of taxis and the guest house will happily book one for you whenever you need it. I could honestly go on for pages and pages about how brilliant this place is. But instead go and find out for yourselves!

Nestled in the heart of Franschhoek, La Petite Ferme is a chic hotel offering stylish suites and an upmarket restaurant. This historic gem promises an enchanting retreat with luxurious accommodations, gourmet cuisine, and world-class wines. The hotel's captivating beauty and historic charm make it a cherished destination for both local connoisseurs and international travelers. Guests can indulge in onsite massages, rent bicycles for recreation, and enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi access.
Beautiful! We stayed two nights in a suite overlooking the vineyard. Fireplace, private pool (although too cold for that) and amazing views. The service was outstanding. We only did room service for the “cake of the day” - delicious. Ate in the restaurant for all our meals. Food was wonderful and the portions VERY generous. Our favorite was the sea bass and corn-potato soup. Avron, the front of house manager in the restaurant bent over backwards to provide outstanding service. We ended our stay with a wine-tasting. Heinrich did an amazing job. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. His priority was to cater to the guest. We didn’t get to spend much time in town as it was pouring rain- but if you can visit Franschoek, I would highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel.

If I could rate higher than 5, I would. The rooms at the Manor House are elegant and luxurious, yet warm, inviting and homely. The location is a short drive from, and higher up than, the main town which makes the view incredible from every point of the premises. The food & service were absolutely amazing, with the team going above and beyond by replacing all alcoholic beverages in our room with non-alcoholic ones as my husband and I do not drink. The stay was great value for money as it included breakfast and dinner, a complimentary wine tasting for those who choose to do so, and complimentary afternoon tea and cake. Overall a lovely weekend getaway!

We had dinner only, would def stay if we come back. Arrived at dusk so unfortunately missed the great sunset views that we’d heard about. The meal was v good. Great choice, food was local and v tasty and the wine pairings were lovely. The desserts were disappointing though, not up to the same standard as the rest of the meal. Restaurant was beautiful and designed to take advantage of the views. Staff were v friendly.

The most sensational views in The Winelands. Staff are extremely accommodating. No request was too large and no detail too small. Beautifully decorated rooms and the mini bar is free - a nice touch. We requested a baby sitter last minute and Mercia was excellent with our daughter. The restaurant has a beautiful menu and the afternoon tea and cake offering is such a cute experience. We also really appreciated the free wine tasting session in the afternoon. We got to taste wines that are not openly available on the market. Pair that with a view of vineyards and we were in heaven! Thank you to the team who made our stay so enjoyable, we will be back.

We returned here to stay in a great room (Helene) with a pool shared by 3 rooms with views across the valley to the mountains beyond. We had free wine and drinks in the fridge, a complimentary wine tasting and bikes are available to borrow as it is slightly out of town. As it is halfway up the hill it has better views and sunsets than most other places, and a great place for a late afternoon drink or wine tasting. Service is very good but a couple of things needed reminding to get sorted out. The wine is in the garden overlooking the view and the wines good. some very. The wine ambassador should speaker slower and more clearly. We did not dine here but the breakfast was excellent. However the prices have practically doubled in 2 and a half years.

If I could give them 6 stars out of 5, I probably would. This establishment is the pinnacle of luxury, quality service and delicious food. A real gem in the heart of the Cape Winelands, and really doing the upmost to put South African Tourism and hospitality on the map. The staff went out of their way to assist with every simple request and prepared a birthday cake for me as this was a birthday retreat with my wife. It was the best birthday weekend getaway! Simply stunning, and I couldn’t recommend this establishment higher ! A must visit for any tourist coming to the Western Cape of South Africa !

Years ago we had dinner at this restaurant. Not only has it the most stunning views of the valley, the food is still hunting my dreams until this day - back then, they made a bacon-wrapped camembert with fig chutney.... it will forever live rent-free in my foodie-brain as one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and hope to be visiting again one day!

We had dinner here as a couple at 6 p.m., enjoyed ever second of the 3 hours. Waiter was extremely professional. He took the time to explain everything to us, also about the rich and famous in town. Food was much better than expected, we not only had two courses, but at the end with all the additions, it was basically 2+2 Wine we got basically full glasses to try which one we wanted and then we chose a Souvignon Blanc and a Merlot Cuvée View was exceptional, you can believe all the other notes to this place one to one Pass Road, Franschhoek, 7690, Südafrika

The manor house boasts three luxurious en-suite rooms with modern amenities and a touch of old-world romance. Nestled against the hillside, it provides breathtaking views of vineyards and the Wemmerschoek Mountains. Guests can enjoy delectable dishes and exquisite wines at the on-site restaurant and tasting room, making for an unforgettable stay.
Had an exceptional stay at the Manor House. Great breakfast with very nice jazz music. Every member of staff makes you feel at home and is extremely helpful. Rickety Bridge also has great wines, we especially like the Pinotage wine. Very conveniently located as a stop of the wine tram.

Extremely popular route on the Wine Tram activity in Franschhoek. Be prepared to wait a while to be seated. Lovely cheese and wine tasting option - a must.

Came here as part of the wine tram (pink line) experience. I wanted to book the panacotta wine tasting experience but it was not available anymore, ended up booking the regular one and it was fine. None of the wines were particularly outstanding. We did buy some to take back home. Service was fine but could have been more tentative. Would recommend as part of the wine team experience but not on its own.

Absolutely beautiful location with an amazing feminist backstory of triumph against adversary of Paulina De Villiers the female owner of the vineyard. You can better fact check on the website 👀 We went for Paulina’s tasting menus as it had a wider variety of white wines, which at the early start of our wine tour we thought would be a better option as it featured 3 white wines and 1 full bodied red as part of the tasting. Below I’ve listed my thoughts on the wines I tried: Wine 1: Paulina's Reserve Sauvignon Blanc A nice intro white wine, quite acidic with strong notes of pear. Wine 2: Paulina's Reserve Chenin Blanc This was by far my favourite white wine, peachy notes, a richer taste and very smooth. Wine 3: Paulina's Reserve Semillon The strongest of the white wines with a strong earthy aroma and bold flavour. Wine 4: Paulina's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon This was a great full bodied red wine 👌🏿 This is a wonderful vineyard 100% worth the visit!

The estate in it's entirety is nicely located a bit outside Franschoek. The Pinotage Suite is a wing of the Manor House and offers ample space in historic ambiente. Facilities fulfill any wish and beds are superb. The team around Martha takes care of whatever is needed in a warm-heartedly way. Breakfast in the garden beside the pool is freshly prepared and covers all what is needed including local specialties. Wine-Tasting on the open terasse under big trees is inspiring and relaxed. All in all quality-time with a very warm and personal touch!

We stayed at the manor house in the Pinotage suite. It was a lovely experience. The staff was so friendly and went out of their way to keep us happy. The room exceeded expectations and the food (both the restaurant dinner and the guesthouse breakfast) was delightful. They offer vegan and vegetarian options and there is a lot to do on the farm and surrounds. The wine is also excellent. You really can't lose.

Le Quartier Francais is a boutique hotel in Franschhoek, offering chic rooms and suites with picturesque views. The hotel hosts complimentary wine tastings and serves breakfast to its guests. It is notable that several top Western Cape restaurants, including Le Quartier Francais itself, did not participate in the Winelist Awards. The hotel's central location on Huguenot Street allows visitors to safely explore the village at night and easily access nearby restaurants.
Phenomenal service and attention to detail. Delightfully updated old property with all mod cons to make stay a luxury bliss. Top 5 hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Attached restaurants at the property would be at least 1 Michelin star if they were based in london. Recommend

We just spent two unforgettable nights at Le Quartier Français to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday, and I can confidently say this place is pure magic. The team went above and beyond to make the occasion special—from warm greetings to thoughtful surprises, they made us feel like honored guests in a dear friend's home. The Four Quarters Suite was immaculate, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Franschhoek, allowing us to stroll to top restaurants each evening, including a phenomenal dinner at Protégé, just steps from our room. The food throughout our stay was sublime, and the in-house wine tasting at Great Heart Wine Boutique was hands down one of the best and most educational we experienced during our South Africa trip. We absolutely fell in love with the valley, and the staff at Le Quartier Français played a huge role in that. Heartfelt thanks to the entire team—you made this milestone birthday truly unforgettable.

The hotel was very nice and the staff were very attentive and made sure our stay was perfect. The morning breakfasts was perfect including the afternoon wine tasting! Conrad, one of the managers, was very helpful when our flight cancelled. He made sure we were well accommodated and obtained transportation to the airport. The most outgoing and friendly award goes to Domi - such personality and always smiling! Thanks for a great stay!!!

A beautiful hotel centrally located. Warm welcome but couldn’t shake the feeling that the staff wanted you to act impressed. On the cusp of being boutique but sadly almost conference. Our bedroom had the most unforgiving awfully hard type of bamboo woven carpet that you didn’t want to walk on without slippers (provided). Lovely bathroom with underfloor heating. Turn down service. A medium bottle each of red and white wine complimentary. Lovely pool area, safe parking and all ground level rooms. Breakfast could be in- or outdoors and didn’t disappoint.

What a glorious place. We are lucky to be able to enjoy such a lovely space, with genuinely caring staff and an environment that has meticulous attention to detail. Whether it is the carefully selected books in the beautifuly interior designed rooms, honesty bar, lavish manicured gardens or the fantastically designed wellness centre and spa, you will be impressed. The Franschhoek Wine Tram offers a unique way to explore the beauty and history of the Franschhoek Valley. Visitors can hop on and off a double-decker tram or open-air tram-bus, stopping at some of South Africa's oldest and most renowned wine estates. The tour provides opportunities for wine tastings, cellar tours, leisurely lunches, and walks through picturesque vineyards.
If you initially find the different lines a little confusing, then I highly recommend booking one of the tours. We did the Exceptional Wine & Cuisine tour. The experience was incredible. Our guide and the wineries that were chosen were all perfect. The food was delicious from breakfast to evening dessert. Our guide, Courtney was incredibly accommodating. She ensured our experience was nothing less than spectacular. Valentino and Taylor helped us at the station and were fantastic hosts while we waited for our tram to arrive. The whole team was great.

I will suggest to have a vip tour (Private tour) Yes - experience is higher in price, but definitely worth it! Best experience so far in SA! Yes only three wineries - but you are not in a rush You eat delicious food - paired 100% nicely You have time to enjoy atmosphere! Will be back 100% !!!! Note 📝 in advance for allergies, the staff was very helpful to accommodate gluten free intolerance on spot, but be careful to note it in advance. Visited in June 2025 - so not so many people! Enjoyed our time very much !

We visited the Franschhoek Wine Tram during our honeymoon and enjoyed it so much that we decided to do it twice! We did the Pink Line on the first day and the Blue Line on the second. Both were amazing and offered a great mix of wineries - some accessible by tram and others by bus. The tram estates are definitely the most popular, but we’d really recommend making time for the bus route too. There are some real hidden gems along the way - for example, on the Pink Line bus route we stopped at Pigcasso, where you can see art painted by a pig and even feed some of the animals! Across both days we met Bati, who told us he was in training. Bati was absolutely wonderful - so friendly, helpful, and genuinely interested in our experience. Each time we hopped on the bus, he checked in with us, offered great recommendations, and even suggested we visit the Franschhoek Monument, which we hadn’t heard of before. We’re so glad we went - it was a lovely spot and a great tip! We really wish Bati all the best with his training - he’s already a treasure to the team. The entire operation is so well run. Both the trams and buses were perfectly on time, and every staff member we encountered was friendly and professional. We can’t fault a thing! If you’re ever in the area, we highly recommend doing the Franschhoek Wine Tram - it’s such a fun and memorable way to explore the vineyards.

It was a really nice experience. We took the blue line, which is relatively central in the town. We visited 4 wineries, all a bit different, and we spent 1 hour at each. It was perfectly enough for a day, but we would spend 2 hour in the one where we take our lunch. In 1 hour, lunch and wine tasting felt a bit rushed. Our guides were nice and friendly especially Asa, with whom we had a nice chat on our last shuttle.
Dávid K — Google review
This experience was absolutely amazing! From the collection point, transfers between wineries and the drop off, so well organised and was overall perfect! We made it to 4 wineries; could have done 5 but wanted to enjoy each winery more. Lovely staff. Beautiful views and gorgeous wineries. Jona, who was the tram guide made the experience wonderful. Highly recommend!

Such a pleasant experience! Absolute wonderful wine tasting with Caleb at Eikehof, great brownie pairing at Lynx and a delicious chicken burger at Grande Provence. The wine tram and wine bus staff was professional and helpful at all times. Highly recommended!
Rika B — Google review
The Franschhoek Wine Tram was an amazing experience — a must-do for any wine lover visiting South Africa! We visited multiple wineries throughout the day, each with its own unique vibe, great wines, and beautiful surroundings. Even though it was wet and cold, the weather didn’t ruin the experience at all — the wines, views, and overall atmosphere more than made up for it. One thing to keep in mind: it’s about a 2-hour drive from Cape Town to Franschhoek and the same on the way back, so it does make for a long day. If you’re a wine enthusiast or want to experience more of what the region has to offer, I’d highly recommend spending at least one night there. That way, you can enjoy the full range of wineries without feeling rushed. Overall, a fun, relaxing, and memorable day — highly recommended!
Brad — Google review
The Franschhoek Wine Tram offers a delightful and unique way to tour the region, delivering on the novelty of a tram experience that winds through some truly stunning vineyards. It’s highly recommended if you are visiting or staying near Franschhoek, and the wine and pairing tasting options are very good and extremely reasonably priced. However, it's essential to set expectations regarding the logistics and pace. Despite the name, the tram itself makes only about three stops before you are transferred by bus or tractor to the entrance of each subsequent vineyard. The main takeaway is that the pace can be quite rushed. If your goal is to visit every winery on your chosen route, you'll feel constantly pressed for time. We advise visitors to be strategic: prioritise the few vineyards you are most keen to see, and dedicate more time to them. Trying to make it round every single stop will detract from the overall experience. In summary, it's a fantastic, unique day out, but plan your winery visits carefully to ensure you get the most out of your time.

Leeu Estates is a luxurious boutique hotel located in the Franschhoek Valley, offering plush rooms and suites set on a wine estate. The property, owned by Indian entrepreneur Analjit Singh in partnership with the local Mullineux family, boasts elegant dining options, an outdoor pool, and a spa. With 17 superior rooms featuring calming decor, Leeu Estates is conveniently situated less than one kilometer outside of Franschhoek on the slopes of the Dassenberg mountain.
Leeu Estates was, without question, the most luxurious place we've ever stayed. It was our first stop on our honeymoon, and after a long day of travel and serious jetlag, we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect welcome. From the moment we arrived, we felt like royalty — the warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism of the entire team set a new standard in hospitality. They strike that rare balance of being both refined and genuinely friendly, which made our stay feel both special and comfortable. The property itself is breathtaking, with a cozy and grounding energy that immediately made us feel at home. We stayed in one of the studio rooms with a private terrace overlooking the mountains — incredibly romantic, serene, and relaxing. One of our favorite touches was the fireplace in our room, which the staff would light while we were at dinner — such a thoughtful and intimate detail. And the scent of the estate! Everything smelled of warm embers, which added to the already dreamy atmosphere. Dining at Le Petite Colombe was nothing short of extraordinary — the finest dining experience we've ever had. The fact that it was just a short walk from our room was the cherry on top. A true highlight for us was the Couples Connection experience at the spa. We both get massages regularly, but this was easily the best we’ve ever had. It was deeply relaxing and intimate, and something we’ll never forget. We also did a wine tasting on our last day — and only regret not doing it sooner! It surpassed many of the tastings we experienced in the region. The wine cellar is beautiful, and sipping wine while enjoying the grounds was the perfect end to our stay. We’re already feeling nostalgic and can't wait to return! It was a dream from start to finish, and we couldn’t recommend it more!

We had a lovely stay at the Vineyard Cottage, and honestly, it was on track to be a 5-star review... until we dealt with the checkout process. Our experience was incredibly frustrating and highlighted a baffling lack of common sense. After being asked to get out of my car to officially "check out" and completing that process, we proceeded to the exit. To our disbelief, we were stopped and told we couldn't leave due to another outstanding charge. We soon found out it was a $15 charge for simply opening a bottle from the mini-bar. This was despite the hotel already having our credit card securely on file from our stay. Instead of simply using the credit card they already possessed – which would have been the sensible and convenient solution – they demanded we go back to the lobby to resolve this minor charge. We refused, pointing out how absurd the situation was given they had all our payment details. After a short, unnecessary delay, someone eventually came out with a credit card machine. This entire situation was completely avoidable and unnecessary. A well-managed establishment would simply process such a minor charge on the card already on file and promptly send an updated receipt. Creating a roadblock over a $15 item when payment details are readily available is exceptionally poor customer service and a huge waste of everyone's time. It left a very negative final impression on what could have been an otherwise pleasant stay. Management seriously needs to re-evaluate their checkout procedures and empower their staff with more logical, customer-focused solutions. What could have easily been a 5-star experience was unfortunately downgraded to a 3-star due to this avoidable and frustrating checkout debacle.

I booked the Spa for a day of spoil for my daughters and I. The setting is beautiful. But I was so disappointed by the spa experience. The pedicure I booked was in a back room with no view and felt like the storage room and where beauticians came to get their lunch and phones.... After treatments I requested a lunch menu ... no one ever came to where we sat outside on the spa verandah to bring menus or water or check on us.... I will never be back.

Nestled in the picturesque Franschhoek valley, the Franschhoek Country House & Villas is a luxurious 19th-century estate offering an enchanting retreat. Guests can choose from elegantly decorated suites and villas with views of lush gardens and vineyards. The Monneaux Restaurant provides a culinary journey blending European and Cape flavors using locally sourced ingredients. The hotel also features a five-star spa offering various treatments for ultimate relaxation.
We had a very lovely relaxing stay here. The rooms are large and the standard of service looking after them is very good. The rooms are comfortable but a little tired in the bathroom. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully kept. The pool area also was clean and well kept but a few more shade umbrellas wouldn’t go amiss. Staff were really lovely and friendly. The service shuttling you in and out of town is so helpful. The restaurant Monneaux was excellent and I had my best meal of the whole trip here. The management are visible and approachable. There is a really nice happy team feel amongst the staff . Well Done to everyone.

Although we didn’t stay at Franschhoek Country House & Villas, I want to take a moment to commend them for their outstanding hospitality and kindness. During our visit to Franschhoek, we got a bit turned around and ended up at their gate by mistake. Instead of turning us away, the staff welcomed us warmly, opened up the gate, and even let us use their beautiful facilities without hesitation. It’s a small but powerful reflection of the heart and generosity that clearly defines this place. If this is how they treat unplanned visitors, I can only imagine the care and comfort they provide to their actual guests.

Wow wow wow this place is just beautiful. We stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon and it is just such a luxury experience. From our first encounter with Carmen we knew we were in safe hands. This boutique country house goes the extra mile and beyond. Our room was situated just beside the gorgeous pools but we also could see the wine tram from our balcony. This place is such a treat. Would highly recommend!

We booked for 3 people on booking.com but then over email the hotel said they only take bookings for 2 adults in their villas. They apologised for this mix up over email, but they wouldn’t cancel and refund our booking, instead they charged us an extra 5,000 rand (about €270) a night - a considerable difference in cost with no option but to pay. When we arrived, Management wouldn’t budge, basically told us it was our fault. Very poor communication in my opinion - even a gesture like dinner in the restaurant would have been appreciated to recognise the inconvenience. The other staff were lovely and the shuttle to other locations is handy. But beyond the booking issue, the hotel rooms and furnishings are outdated and the food is average - 5 star prices but not a 5 star experience.

I strongly recommend this amazing hotel. This place was divine. The entire staff goes above and beyond to accommodate your stay. They did so much to make the older members of our group more comfortable, they made us what we wanted for dinner by special request, they mailed us items we forgot at the hotel. And it’s BEAUTIFUL! They arranged so much for us and always made sure we were having a great experience. They make every person here feel special and welcomed. The entire resort’s curb appeal was gorgeous and always clean. We stayed in their Villa and it was exceptional. The location is also great! Just a short couple minutes drive to the Franschhoek Wine Trams and downtown Franschhoek. The food was amazing (some of the best food we’ve had) we rarely wanted to eat outside of the resort! person here feel special and welcomed. Guests can enjoy genuine country hospitality within walking distance to shops and award-winning restaurants. Additionally, the hotel provides first-class facilities amidst picturesque surroundings.
Absolutely everything was amazing about La Fontaine. Firstly the incredible warmth and hospitality of the staff, who were always on hand for anything required, without ever being overbearing. There were also so many staff, you never had to search for someone to assist. The hotel itself was beautifully and stylishly furnished, we had an extremely comfortable suite, We also absolutely loved the warmth of the lounge/bar area. Unfortunately the weather was not good enough to sit outside or try the pool! And the location was perfect, literally under a minute's walk to the main high street with all of its excellent restaurants. The breakfast in the hotel was delicious. We will definitely be returning to La Fontaine on a regular basis.

We have just spent the most glorious 3 days at this incredible boutique hotel. The service and personal attention was unmatched. We have been lucky enough to travel overseas to some high end resorts, and can honestly say nothing has compared to the experience at La Fontaine. The rooms were incredibly spacious and so comfortable. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Absolutely loved our 70th birthday weekend 4 to 6 July in this delightful boutique hotel. The staff were amazing so friendly and willing to assist. We loved the eclectic decor in the lounge and our garden bedroom and huge bathroom were perfect. It is well situated and very easy to walk into town to the shops and restaurants. Go and stay there you will love it!

Amazing atmosphere. Kim, Micheala, Carlton names carry on just like met expectations. Each personality with one common resonating feeling of being friendly, accommodating and caring. Bringing a baby along can be taxing on all but the friendly smiles keep coming. That at home feeling from the room to the patio, with a welcoming view from the surrounding vineyard covered mountains.

Wonderful stay. We celebrated a birthday and the staff were kind enough to do a cake and a bottle of MCC. They even provided a Gluten Free cake so one of the guests could still take part in the celebration.

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon in October 2024 and we absolutely loved it. The staff members were incredibly kind and helpful and made our honeymoon feel extra special. We had a beautiful, clean room, and the breakfast was delicious (you absolutely have to try their homemade bread). The hotel is also within walking distance of some amazing restaurants. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking to visit the wine region!

Nestled in the heart of Franschhoek, Le Petit Paris is a charming guesthouse that offers a delightful escape for travelers seeking comfort and convenience. Just a short stroll from local attractions like the Huguenot Memorial Museum and the Franschhoek Wine Tram, this cozy haven features eight beautifully appointed rooms, with six located upstairs and five boasting stunning mountain views. Guests can unwind by the outdoor pool or enjoy serene moments on the terrace surrounded by lush gardens.
We had a very pleasant stay. All the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The accommodation, although in need of a little updating, was clean and well presented. Our room had an outdoor terrace, most suitable to evening cocktails or a morning coffee with stunning Mountain View’s. The breakfast on the terrace was just perfect. Location wise it couldn’t have been better. Just a short stroll down to the main road and central to both ends of the street. Would thoroughly recommend Le Petit Paris and already intend to stay in the future with guest from abroad.

We have had 5-star service from the moment we arrived. It was poring with rain upon arrival and Lovemore was waiting with umbrellas to receive us from the car, electric blankets were on and our room feels like a little piece of France. Breakfast is worth it and on the house. Fruits, juice, omelettes, croissants. Great value!

What a treat to overnight at such a fine place. The accommodation is ample, stylish and equipped with all we needed for our comfort. The staff were pleasant and efficient and the full breakfast set us up for a lovely day.

Had an amazing stay here, right from our arrival the service was 5*. Billy and Lovemore were a credit! So helpful and always accommodating! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Franschhoek, the location is great and the parking is secure too! Will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful rooms, great breakfast. Friendly staff giving excellent service. Good location 2 minutes walk to main street. Owners very helpful. We had a great time here and would strongly recommend.

Incredible place to stay with some rooms having the best views of the Franschoek cliffs we saw while there. Staff were also fantastic helping us at every step. Incredible breakfasts as well with what you need to set you up for a good day and well located for walking into town and the various restaurants. Great to have a read by the pool as well. Also the fact the minibar is very reasonably priced and stocked with half bottles of wine and pringles means a balcony sundowners is a very easy thing to justify.

Absolutely charming little B&B on the property of a beautiful winery! Lovely room with beautiful touches. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of food. We also enjoyed the swimming pool on a hot day. We received a complimentary wine tasting at Rickety Bridge, the winery adjoining the property, which was fantastic (would also recommend the winery)! Staff and management were extremely professional. Overall a really lovely property with tons of character at a reasonable price. Would absolutely highly recommend!!

We had the most amazing stay at basse Provence. From the extremely professional and calm welcome to the check out, everything was wonderful. The rooms were lovely and clean and the staff was very helpful and kind. The whole area was well maintained and safe to walk around. The breakfast was also very good, but à la card, so bring some time. All in all this was one of our best stays in South Africa, thanks to all the team.

We had the most amazing time staying at Basse Provence. Our room was perfectly set up for a toddler and a baby. They rook such good care of us and our kids, they even helped us when our car got stuck on another road. Their impeccable service was met with their lekker breakfast!

It's pretty good, but our room needs a lot of maintenance. The doors don't open & close properly, the blinds don't operate properly & the taps have very dodgy water pressure. Breakfast was limited, but good, and the staff are very helpful.

We had a nice stay in this guesthouse for one night. Staff was super friendly, breakfast was nice and surrounding is breathtaking with its wine fields and mountains. Definitely recommended for everybody who is looking for a great accommodation to do wine tasting.
Larena — Google review
Great location and setting for launching your Franschhoek experience. Set far back from the main road the grounds are beautiful and well kept. The accommodation is exactly what you see in the pictures and the rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The guest house is also only a short walk through the vineyards from Rickety Bridge Wines. Complementary wine tasting and an included breakfast rounded off the stay wonderfully. Definitely worth considering for a night or two in the beautiful Franschhoek valley.

Maison Chablis Guest House is a charming accommodation option in Franschhoek, nestled in the heart of the Cape Winelands. The guest house offers classic rooms with minifridges and boasts a stately dining room, an outdoor pool, and a beautiful garden. Its Georgian-style architecture, English country garden landscaping, and classic French decor perfectly complement the Cape mountain vistas.
We stayed for 3 nights whilst we explored Franschhoek. Perfect location, great for a little retreat from all the action during the day. The staff were fab and Elsje went above and beyond what we expected. Food was fab and will be recommending to all our friends.

While guest accommodation in Franschoek is abundant, few will tick all the boxes as with Maison Chablis: - luxurious, spacious rooms - heartfelt, friendly service - central location and within walking distance of restaurants and attractions - free, safe, off-street parking - a breakfast to die for Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Will be back ❤️

This is our fifth stay in this lovely guesthouse. The managers and staff are very friendly and helpful. The gardens and pool areas are very tranquil with many birds. The location is fantastic - so easy to walk into town. The breakfast is outstanding. We look forward to the next visit.

We made a last minute booking on a Friday evening, the owner, James, was down in a flash to welcome us. What a welcome! We felt like we had just arrived at an old friend's home. The room was perfect, it was evident that care and attention had been paid to all the furniture and fittings. Breakfast in the morning was world class. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and we will definitely visit again.
Jeremy B — Google review
The owner did his best to assist us before the arrival as it was an issue with the credit card online payment so it went all smoothly. On arrival he met us personally and showed the room and the premises. His offer to assist on any restaurant reservation was very thoughtful. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bed was nice and the view from our room was amazing. The breakfast was perfect and very delicious. Again, the owner was involved and did his best to assist on any question or request during the breakfast. He gave us some useful information about that day route and the current roads condition. Would be happy to stay again and definitely would advise!

Very, very beautiful little Hotel, the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly! And the garden/ pool is a beautiful oasis. Very near to town center and restaurants. Only if you want to do the wine Tram it will be at the other end so that you will need to walk 20 Min.

We absolutely loved Leeu House! The staff is amazing and so friendly. Breakfast is delicious. Location is great - walking distance to many restaurants. Definitely recommend the complementary wine tasting at their wine cellar (about a 5 min drive). We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Leeu House is a stunningly beautiful boutique hotel situated right in the heart of Franschhoek, and if you appreciate a more personal touch to your stay in a deeply attractive looking establishment, we cannot recommend it highly enough. The entire property is fabulously decorated, showcasing an impeccable sense of style that makes every space feel both sophisticated and welcoming. This beautiful setting is matched by the exceptional service delivered by the small, dedicated team who truly make you feel cared for. Our room was very spacious and well presented, though we’d note the bed, while comfortable, was on the firmer side. Not an issue for us but may be for some. The public areas are just as inviting: the pool and garden area are very well kept and easily make for a lovely, tranquil spot to spend an afternoon. The attentive staff in this area are brilliant. In the evening, we enjoyed cocktails at the front of the hotel—a truly pleasant spot to unwind and watch the town go by. As for dining, the breakfast was lovely, with the French toast standing out as a must-try item. While we didn't dine for dinner, the quality of the breakfast suggests high culinary standards across the board. Two key notes for future guests: be prepared for a few mosquitos, even on cooler days (we visited in October). Also, my wife highly recommends the Spa, which is about a 10-minute drive from the hotel. She described it as one of the best massages she’s ever had, so it's well worth checking out if you're looking for world-class relaxation. Overall, Leeu House is an absolute gem and the perfect base for exploring the Cape Winelands.

Jeremy M — Google review
Food Poisoning and Poor Service at Overpriced Leeu House Our stay at Leeu House was marred by a serious incident of food poisoning from the hotel's food. Given the first time I ate that day was at the hotel, I know their food caused the food poisoning. After I projectile vomited (I tried getting to the toilet but could not in time) my husband asked for assistance with soiled bedding. The staff informed us no cleaning would be available until the next day which surprised us. Management's dismissive handling of this health and safety issue was equally concerning. The Leeu House Suite, while spacious, had significant shortcomings. The bed was uncomfortably soft, clearly two mattresses pushed together, and the bathroom showed poor maintenance with visibly dirty shower grout. The suite's layout was impractical, lacking basic amenities like proper reading lights so my husband could read while I slept. For people into tea and coffee, the beverage service disappointed, with subpar coffee and tea. At a lower price point, these issues might be more forgivable. However, for the premium rates charged, the combination of food safety issues, poor crisis management, and general service deficiencies makes Leeu House impossible to recommend. Pros: - Spacious suite - Good location Cons: - Food poisoning from hotel food - Unacceptable response to cleaning resulting us sleeping with throw up sheets - Poor crisis management - Uncomfortable bed - Subpar maintenance - Low-quality amenities - Dismissive management attitude

Wonderful hotel, walkable to Franschhoek. Would recommend the vineyard rooms that have your own patio/space. We chose the hotel for the large pool area and we weren’t disappointed. Incredible views. Ellen and Gary were perfect hosts, very welcoming, their breakfast was delicious every morning.

We stayed here years ago (in 2019) for my Mrs’ 30th birthday. Just reminiscing about the best places we’ve ever stayed and eaten etc on our honeymoon. This place came up as no.1. Everything about it was absolutely magical, the room, the backdrop, the weather, the food and of course the hospitality. We intend to come back to Franschoek one day and hopefully we can stay here again. Thanks again, although you probably don’t remember us, we remember you!!

La Providence was the last stop on our recent trip to South Africa and it really did end our holiday perfectly but making us even more sad to leave! The property is absolutely beautiful with what must be one of the best pools with a view in Franschhoek! Gary, Ellen and all the staff were SO friendly, helpful and accommodating. They were able to safely look after our bags before we checked into our room and were invaluable at helping us arrange reservations and transport for our stay. The hotel itself is in the perfect spot just on the edge of Franschhoek so it has the perfect mix of being close to the vineyards, restaurants and shops but also peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. Breakfast was fantastic and quite literally cooked to order – delicious! We highly recommend La Providence, it felt like a home from home and Gary, Ellen it was great to meet you– thank you for making the last stop of our trip so special.

Definitely the highlight of our three-week trip in South Africa! We stayed at this beautiful guesthouse for a week and it was definitely the best decision we could have made. As soon as you enter this place and pull up the driveway, you don't want to leave. The landscaped gardens and vineyards are beautiful. The large pool, surrounded by mountains and vineyards, is the perfect place to wind down and relax. What we also loved was that you could help yourself to the honesty bar and had a great selection of drinks. The breakfast was also the best we had on our vacation! Not only was it delicious, but it was also prepared with great attention to detail. You can order whatever warm food you want and there is also a small buffet with different types of delicious food every day. There are also fresh cakes/muffins and fruit every day where you can help yourself right next to the pool. The room offered plenty of space to feel at home and was very tastefully furnished. The guesthouse is also perfectly located, not far from the main shopping street and all the restaurants and wine estates. Ellen and Gary were absolutely perfect hosts, always up for a nice chat and extremely helpful and kind! No photos can do this place justice! Thank you for an unforgettable week, we will be back as soon as possible and again for a longer period of time so we have plenty to enjoy. Best, Laura & Daniel

Contacted them directly having seen their house on booking.com to enquire about which room available on booking.com was the equivalent room on their own website. I also mentioned that the price on booking.com was slightly cheaper. They initially responded but then ignored my follow on emails and conveniently took the room down off booking.com so they can probably charge more through their own website.

The French-style manor house offers upscale amenities including an outdoor pool, complimentary breakfast, and a restaurant serving satisfying meals. Guests can also enjoy the attached winery and rent bicycles for leisurely exploration. The rooms are well-equipped with modern facilities and offer picturesque views of the gardens and swimming pool.
Stumbling upon L'Auberge Chanteclair was like discovering a hidden gem. My instincts proved right as every aspect of my stay exceeded expectations. The Location: Nestled not far from Franschhoek, L'Auberge Chanteclair offers a perfect blend of accessibility and seclusion. The farmhouse ambiance feels like stepping into a dream, surrounded by picturesque mountains and vineyards. Simply sitting by the pool, savoring house wine while watching the gentle sway of tree branches in the wind, was a serene experience. Pairing fresh berries with white wine elevated the relaxation to another level. The Room: My spacious room was in impeccable condition, complete with a cozy fireplace tended to by attentive staff every evening. The crackling fire added a special touch to my vacation. Upon hearing lively conversation outside my door, I couldn't resist joining fellow guests, creating memorable connections that enriched my stay. The Breakfast: A highlight of my time at L'Auberge Chanteclair was the exceptional breakfast experience. Enjoying a delicious meal next to the lush vineyards while witnessing the fog kiss the mountaintops was nothing short of magical. Coupled with the warmth of the staff and the quality of the eggs and coffee, it was a breakfast to remember. The Staff: The staff's hospitality was unparalleled, scoring a solid 100 out of 10. Their friendliness, helpfulness, and engaging conversations made me feel like a cherished friend rather than just a guest. Overall: As much as I'd love to spread the word about L'Auberge Chanteclair, part of me wants to keep this hidden paradise to myself. But in the spirit of sharing, I can't help but highly recommend it to anyone seeking a truly unforgettable getaway.

Haute Cabrière is a family-owned winery with a rich history dating back to 1694. The estate features a tasting room, restaurant, and terrace for visitors to enjoy. It's interesting to note that several top Western Cape restaurants, including Haute Cabriere itself, are not part of the Winelist Awards. Many of these restaurants are associated with wine estates that prioritize promoting their own wines.
One of my favourite fine dining restaurants in Franschoek. We had 3 courses during the summer edition of restaurant week and I must say that I was very impressed. The restaurant has amazing views of the Franschoek Wine Valley. We received a welcome glass of the sparkling rosé which was so good that we ordered another one. Each of the dishes from the starters to the desert was delicious. I'm coming back for their winter menu.
Wandile N — Google review
Stunning views of the valley below and the mountains behind the winery. The cheese and charcuterie platters in the tasting area are absolutely delicious. I can highly recommend the Haute Collection to taste delicious wine from old vines. I especially enjoyed the Amphora Semillon. The staff were all very knowledgeable and friendly. Haute Cabrière is definitely worth a visit and just a few minutes drive from the centre of Franschhoek.

It was my first time at this wine estate and our waitress made it easy to understand. We chose our wines with macarons and Azi (waitress) was wonderful. Very professional and friendly. The wine was exquisite and we bought a bottle to leave with. Great service.

Treated ourselves to a visit during Restaurant week. 3 course meal on offer for R490. I had the Confit Trout starter, Springbok rump and Earl Grey Diplomat. The melt-in-your-mouth trout was exceptional. The medium rare Springbok Rump was beautiful and the vegetables that accompanied it were delicious. The diplomat was my first and pleasant enough. Highly recommend this restaurant which presides in a beautiful setting. Staff were really friendly and helpful. And the walk through the tasting room to the bathrooms took us back to our trip to Cappadocia last year.

During our visit to Haute Cabrière, we experienced exceptional service and outstanding cuisine. The dining area boasts a modern design; however, it felt overly warm and lacked a welcoming ambiance. While the food was delightful, the wines did not meet our expectations. Overall, a commendable dining experience.

The opportunities to sit outside for the wine tasting are very limited. It is not possible to sit in front of the modern house building of beton. Instead, we sat in the wine cellar until requested. Which was not exactly attractive due to the beautiful weather outside.

Absolutely incredible experience, top to bottom ♥️ Every member of staff really turned out and gave us an exceptional experience. It was clear every guest was receiving the highest level of service. The kitchen staff were doing great things too and we had one of the best meals we've had in or out of SA. We then moved to the Cellar and enjoyed a wine tasting (Cap Classique) with yet more lovely staff. We may have even been treated to a quick tour of the cellar proper (but don't tell anyone). Truly unforgettable. Recommend going for dinner on a Friday/Saturday night as its truly devastating that they close before sunset yet they have the best sunset view in the valley! 😭 We kkow for next time...

Nestled in the picturesque Franschhoek valley, Le Petit Manoir offers a luxurious retreat with exquisite dining experiences. The new restaurant, led by renowned Chef Kevin Grobler and Chef Scott Armstrong, promises culinary delights like swordfish ceviche and duck-liver parfait with balsamic pearls. The beautifully prepared lamb rump dish is a true indulgence on a plate.
We had a delightful stay at Le Petit Manoir in Franschhoek. Brilliantly located on the main street, this boutique hotel is beautifully decorated throughout- the pool and garden area is particularly stunning and so relaxing. The breakfast is delicious. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with lots of little treats added. The staff are incredibly helpful - recommending and organising trips, transfers and restaurant reservations. JP, Frank and their team are all amazing- they go above and beyond for their guests. We must not forget a special thanks to Villie who kept us entertained over our night caps in the Bar! A truly amazing stay. We would highly recommend a stay here. Des & Carmel

I stayed with my husband and a group of friends (some golfers, some non-golfers) in Le Petit Manoir in February 2025 for 4 nights. It is a hidden gem in the heart of Franschhoek – elegant, intimate, and full of charm. It was the best choice for our needs! The rooms are beautifully designed with luxurious touches and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The staff was exceptionally welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, even though sometimes we were a bit loud...;-) The on-site restaurant offers simple choice but super delicious, from pizza to wraps and great great eggs benedicts! Some nice coctails and outstanding local wines. A perfect escape for anyone looking for "feel like at home" vacations, boutique atmosphere and personalized service. Information for ladies- fabulous shops in the vicinity.

This hotel is absolutely amazing. Our room is a real gem. Staff very efficient and friendly. Every detail shows exquisite taste and refinery. Excellent value - in Europe this would cost at least double if not double

We just popped into the deli for a quick coffee and breakfast. The eggplant pie (with tomato and feta) and the coffee were delicious. Best sourdough we have ever had! Very friendly and helpful staff.

*5/5 Stars - Exceptional Experience at Le Petit Manoir Franschhoek !* I recently had the pleasure of staying at Le Petit Manoir Franschhoek and I must say, it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was nothing short of perfect. The hotel's amenities were top-notch, with a stunning pool area, state-of-the-art fitness center, and delicious dining options. But what really stood out was the attention to detail and the little touches that made my stay feel truly special. The room was spacious, stylishly decorated, and spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and plush pillows. The breakfast spread was incredible, with a wide variety of options to suit every taste. But what really impressed me was the exceptional service from the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and always available to assist with any requests or queries I had. Overall, I would highly recommend Le Petit Manoir Franschhoek to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay. I can't wait to return! *Highlights:* - Friendly and welcoming staff - Stunning pool area and outside area - Spacious and stylishly decorated rooms with wood burning fireplaces - Exceptional service *Room Tip:* Ask for a room with a private pool…

What a wonderful place to stay and experience a serene, quiet, jaw-dropping hotel and spa with beautiful views. The service is top notch. The friendliest, most nicest people I have ever met. The entire place is way bigger than I expected. The pool is amazing and even has a hot tub. You have to make this a spot to spend your honeymoon at or a great couples getaway.

We had such a lovely stay at Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with peaceful gardens and mountain views that make you feel like you’ve escaped into nature. The room was spacious and comfortable, and everything was spotless. What really stood out was the staff. They went out of their way to make our anniversary celebration feel extra special, and we really appreciated the personal touches. The spa was another highlight peaceful, professional, and so relaxing. The spa team were fantastic from start to finish. It was a memorable experience, and we’d happily return for another stay. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a romantic or relaxing getaway in Franschhoek.

We had a wonderful stay here at Le Franschhoek. At the time of visiting (Feb 2025) I felt some of the areas of the hotel needed a spruce up but our house (we were lucky to get upgraded!) was really special. We had some issues with the space but they were quick to help and sort things out for us. Breakfast was good and plentiful and lots to choose from including incredible freshly made dishes from the menu. Lovely staff and a quiet area outside of Franschhoek itself. The hotel laid on a very useful local transfer service which we made great use of.

It’s beautiful, family friendly…. Peaceful. My children ( 6 and 7 ) had a lovely time in their rooms and outside. The chill couldn’t keep us out the very inviting pool and splashes in the jacuzzi. The staff are friendly and keen to assist. The location is great, quick drive to town…and wine farms.

This is our second time at the Hotel. For a 5 star, one expects a manicured well maintained building. The main lounge, chill, bar area, including the breakfast area, is in desperate need of building maintenance.

Great location, short distance from town centre, amazing views. Accommodation at main hotel building very comfortably sized bedroom and bathroom with small kitchenette, very clean and well maintained, tasteful decor. Limited menu options for dining and limited activities at hotel itself. Beautiful well maintained property. Was ideal for a weekend getaway.

I didn’t stay here - because I leaned it’s like an airbnb and someone manages it for the owners and the pictures on Expedia depends if u book that room. So I opted to go and check it myself and to my surprise they are actually like an airbnb (multiple owners) so u don’t know what you’re getting until u get there. One house smells like cigarette so be aware of that. I do think though that if u don’t like what u booked you could switch it as long as there’s availability

We had an incredible stay at Villa 16, L’Ermitage in Franschhoek! The apartment had absolutely everything we needed — from a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and washer/dryer to a cozy fireplace that made the space feel extra special. The location was beautiful, right by the water with stunning views all around. It was also super convenient — within walking distance to town, and we loved that Woolworths, Checkers, and Pick n Pay all delivered straight to the apartment. The service we received throughout our stay was exceptional and made us feel well taken care of. If you’re looking for comfort, convenience, and a bit of luxury in Franschhoek, L’Ermitage is the perfect spot. Highly recommended!

What can I say about this establishment. Absolutely Stunning and what a Beautiful and Breathtaking View of the Mountains. And the units there are all going through a new paint of life. Beautifully decorated and very presentable. Old style and current new style living side by side. Just choose your liking. I got the newly upgraded modern style 2 bedroom unit, comes with all the comforts of home. Love that they provided washing machine in the unit. Thats a super tick for me. Fresh clothings anytime. And over looking the mountains. Unit 58, if you need to know. Security and the staff are all professional and friendly. Can't wait to return to this star of a gem. I'll be back!!

Our stay at Fleur du Soleil was truly exceptional. The guesthouse is beautiful, very well maintained, and spotlessly clean. The atmosphere is peaceful and elegant, and every detail makes you feel at home. But what really made our experience unforgettable was the team. From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. Their warmth, dedication, and professionalism made all the difference — we truly felt welcomed and looked after throughout our stay. It was the perfect place for our honeymoon, and we would definitely stay here again without hesitation. Highly recommended!

Overpriced and overhyped – more energy goes into plaques on the wall than into the basics. Clean, central and with kind local staff, but the reality is nowhere near five-star. Details? No socket in the bathroom, so you end up crawling under the desk to use the hairdryer. Wooden blinds are a daily fight. The “luxury” bathtub is useless because the water runs brown and musty – blaming the mountains doesn’t help when filters and boreholes exist. Breakfast means filling out a form the night before like school lunch, and there’s not even a cappuccino – while the most basic B&B next door managed that without blinking. Coffee in the room is free, but everything else comes with a price list that feels like parody. The breakfast room itself is just a corner with buzzing fridges and a TV – you can sit outside if the weather’s warm enough. Worst of all, after leaving we received a long, intrusive email from the owners, full of excuses and self-promotion. Instead of listening and improving, the focus was on defending and explaining – which says it all.

There are many wonderful places to stay in the world but what truly sets the best apart are the people. The staff at Fleur Du Soleil went so far above and beyond, they care for you as family with genuine hospitality and kindness. Victoria helped to plan the perfect day of wine tasting for us while we made our way back toward Cape Town. My mom had a slight injury and she contacted the best pharmacist in town to look after us and gave us a list of shops and restaurants to explore for the rest of our trip. One more thing I have to call out is the breakfast. OMG. I don't normally eat a big breakfast, but this is a must. The croissants are fresh and warm out of the oven. All the jams/preserves are super fresh and local, and the even the fried eggs were top notch. I spent a lot of time looking at hotels and guesthouses in Franshhoek and am so glad I found this place. Highly recommend, worth every penny, and hope to be able to visit again soon.

My husband and I had an amazing stay here for 2 nights — the location is perfect! Just a 5-minute walk to the main road in town where all the great restaurants are, and even walking distance to some beautiful vineyards, which was a huge bonus. We walked to Haute Cabriere, which took about 15min. Stanley, the manager, was incredibly helpful — even before our arrival, he was assisting with planning and kindly arranged a driver for us. His support really helped everything run smoothly. Our room was spacious, warm (great heating!), and opened out directly onto the pool area. We happened to be the only guests during our stay, which made our delicious breakfast feel extra intimate and personal. A small note for fellow coffee lovers: they didnt seem to have a proper espresso machine on site, but with so many fantastic cafes in town, it wasn’t a problem for us. We absolutely loved Franschhoek and our two nights here. Highly recommended for a relaxed & intimate getaway!

Exceptional Stay – A True Gem in Franschhoek We stayed at B&B Fleur du SOLEIL for four nights and were absolutely pampered from the moment we arrived until the day we left. Every detail was taken care of with warmth and perfection. The hosts are not only welcoming but also incredibly attentive, making us feel at home while still offering the comfort and elegance of a boutique stay. The breakfasts were a highlight — tailor-made each morning to our tastes, beautifully presented, and full of fresh, local flavours. It was like starting the day with a little work of art on a plate. Our room was spotless, spacious, and tastefully decorated, with every comfort thoughtfully provided. The garden, pool and surrounding setting add to the charm, offering a peaceful place to relax after exploring the beautiful Franschhoek valley. B&B Fleur du Soleil is more than just accommodation; it’s an experience in hospitality at its very best. We left feeling refreshed, spoiled, and already planning our return. Highly recommended for anyone wanting luxury, personal attention, and a true taste of Franschhoek hospitality.

We had an amazing stay at Ashbourne Guest House! Courtney and Cindy greeted us with a glass of wine and made us feel at home right away. The room was very spacious and clean. The fridge was stocked with many different choices and there were snacks available in the room too (both for purchase). Breakfast in the morning is freshly made baked goods, fruits, meats, cheeses and a full hot menu to choose from (including dim sum of all things!). The B&B is walking distance to both the main street and the wine tram. It’s safe at night and load shedding wasn’t an issue as they have generators. We stayed in the poolside room and would recommend anyone stay there. It’s a very peaceful and quiet B&B.

Lovely hotel. Within walking distance of everything. Very safe neighborhood. The rooms were very clean and breakfast was good.

We had an amazing stay at Mont d’Or. As a family of five we had the rooms in the pool house, which was very nice. The breakfast was also great. It was such a warm and welcoming feeling whilst our stay and the service was just amazing. Carol and Lance were great hosts.

This property is in a fantastic location, being nice and central to restaurants and cafes on the Main Street. The staff were very friendly and provided great service. The room itself was pretty average (but spacious), especially given the price - it was quite old, with squeaky floors. The bed was a bit short (not an issue for us but if you’re taller it would be a bit small) and the shower did not have a curtain or door, allowing water to get all over the bathroom floor. The grounds of the hotel were nice with the breakfast by the pool area and garden

Lovely hotel with beautiful garden. Location is amazing! Only things that were a downside is the bed, which was to short for my husband, and the bathroom that could use an update. Staff also very friendly and breakfast very nice!

Lovely little place to stay. Excellent location for the shops, restaurants and wine trams. We had a lift room, very spacious, good air con and nice bathroom. Breakfast each day was lovely. Service was brilliant.

Lance, Johannas and Carol with the rest of the staff gave us the most comfortable and outstanding stay. We stayed here for the 2 nights and had the most amazing time. The staff couldn’t do more for you. The breakfast WOW!!!! The location is perfect, walking distance from the main road but in a quiet location. Would highly highly recommend this incredible place!

We had a brilliant stay here - really tastefully decorated guesthouse with a very comfortable bed and room. Brilliant location moments away from the centre of town but on a really quiet road. Extremely friendly and helpful staff who gave us so many recommendations and advice! Would definitely return.

We had a fantastic stay here. Rooms are clean and immaculate, luxurious bedding, felt like I was sleeping in a cloud, so comfy. The breakfast was excellent, great variety and quality ingredients from fruit, yoghurt, to croissant, a selection of cold meats and cheeses. Then comes the hot breakfast cooked to order. The team are all very helpful and friendly and will look after you really well.

What a fabulous start to our holiday in South Africa. This guest house is located just on the edge of the town which makes it easy to walk down the hill and join the action. The room is beautiful. Huge and luxurious. A separate dressing room and enormous bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were wonderful too. We will definitely be back.

We had such a lovely stay at Maison D Ail. We were in room 2 which had a lovely mountain view from the bed. We were welcome by Corna who checked us in and made sure we were settled and comfortable. The bed was huge and comfy, massive bathroom, and cute balcony for sunset. Breakfast was fantastic too. It is also walking distance into town, so we didn’t need to drive to town either. :) Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to friends. :)

The rooms were big and the bathrooms same and the bed was so comfortable. Would definitely stay here again when we come back to SA! Thanks for having us!

Residence Vive La Vie is a charming retreat in Franschhoek, offering three king suites and two queen suites with abundant natural light. The property features original artworks and a saltwater swimming pool, providing a tranquil atmosphere for guests to unwind. Visitors can savor breakfast while admiring the serene surroundings and later explore nearby attractions such as Huguenot Memorial Museum. Additionally, the attentive staff ensures a comfortable stay, with convenient services like laundry facilities available upon request.
My stay at Residence Vive La Vie was a memorable one, mostly because of the attention to details and thoughtful service that are provided by its small group of excellent caretakers. Managed by Peter, hotel manager extraordinaire if ever there was one, the crew carried out its duties with as much attention as needed. The living space and the bathroom of my bungalow were large and comfortable. The garden in the middle of the property had a small pool, should you want to take a dip after a tour of the city. Breakfast was made to order, varied and delicious. The location was a short 10-minute walk from the center.

Lovely place, cozy rooms with plush comfy robes. But the best part was the breakfast, really delicious and fresh! Also just down the road from Grand, a perfect place to watch the sunset and enjoy a drink.

Fantastic room and friendly staff! Unfortunately that can't be said about the manager: while a baby cot was booked and confirmed it was not present upon arrival as it was "used in another lodge". OK, mistakes can happen but the fact that the manager wasn't willing to find another cot or even look for another solution just blew my mind. He just repeated it would arrive the next day. Not the best way to please people traveling with a 7 month old.

After a warm welcome with a glass of Champagne, we were transferred by the manager to our room, which is exact as in the picture, what a beautiful room. beautiful local art really great. The bed is super comfortable nicely made. while showering you can use local shampoo and bodywash, it smells really delicious. After our first night we were surprised with a great breakfast that is served at the table. The manager Peter comes to ask how your first night has been and if he can organize something for you a restaurant or something similar. Residence Vive La Vie is everything you seek personal attention, comfortable luxury rooms really recommended with 5 stars.

Nestled in the picturesque valley of Franschhoek, La Clé Lodge is a meticulously curated retreat that celebrates village charm and the beauty of nature. Surrounded by vineyards, this lodge offers an unforgettable experience with easy access to art, food, and wine. Originally a collection of four houses, it has now expanded to include a five-bedroom guesthouse managed by chef couple Scott and Mel Shepherd.
We stayed at LaClé Franschhoek for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it — it exceeded every expectation. The breakfast is truly farm-to-table, made exactly to order with the freshest ingredients, and every meal was perfectly cooked. Lizel, the incredible hotel manager, is a one-stop shop for anything you need — just a quick text and she handles everything, from reservations (even at fully booked spots) to local tips. The property is stunning, with gorgeous vineyard views and a heated pool that’s cleaned daily and perfect for year-round swimming. You can also walk to all the restaurants nearby! Every evening, they host sundowner cocktails, where we met wonderful fellow guests — both local South Africans and international travelers — and the clientele is just as top-notch as the staff. Ian, who helps with the grounds and guest services, and the rest of the team are warm, professional, and made us feel completely at home. LaClé Franschhoek made our honeymoon unforgettable, and we truly didn’t want to leave.

Our stay at La Clé des Montagnes was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a warm and genuine atmosphere that made us feel instantly at home — albeit in a home far more elegant than our own! The property itself is stunning: a perfect blend of natural beauty, refined design, and quiet luxury. Every detail — from the lush gardens to the beautifully curated interiors — is crafted with love and intention. But what truly set our experience apart was the incredible care and kindness shown by Melanie and John. Their attention to detail, personal touch, and heartfelt hospitality made all the difference. Thank you, Melanie and John, for everything. We carry your generosity and the beauty of La Clé with us — until we return.

Thank you Gahno and team for a fantastic stay at La Clé! The property is stunning - from the interiors, to the well-manicured outdoor lawn, tennis court, paddle boats, pool, etc. Gahno and team were always so helpful with recommendations/bookings, and even packed us a snack box for our early departure. The hotel is well located off a quiet street just from the main road in Franschoek. Even the security/gate staff were so friendly and somehow knew to open the gate as soon as they saw us. We will recommend this property over and over!

Gahno and his staff at La Clé blew our minds with the best hospitality at this magical lodge. From the breakfast to sundowners to the vineyard and lake we couldn't have had a better stay. If I'm ever back in Franschhoek I will definitely stay here. Highly recommend this one of a kind Lodge close to everything in town and the vines.

The best hotel experience I've ever had in my life. The lodge was so comforting and had such an amazing atmosphere. The rooms were very nice. The staff went above and beyond to help us with finding things to do, making reservations, and more. The breakfast was terrific and had a great variety. A special shoutout to Ian for being so helpful and making one of the best meals we have ever had!

We stayed at La Cle for a night and experienced exceptional hospitality from the team. It’s the little touches that matter - that sprig of rosemary and chocolate during turn down, the electric warmer in the bed. We had a sumptuous Braai dinner, and the potato salad was absolutely delicious that I even asked the chef for his recipe! Thank you La Cle for such a wonderful stay! Special shout out to Ian, who made us feel so welcomed. His smiles and positive energy is so contagious!

The guesthouse provides comfortable and clean rooms, with friendly and helpful staff who go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. Guests can enjoy relaxing massages, body treatments, and facials on-site.
Well, well, well. We had an absolute wonderful stay at Mirabelle guesthouse. The staff are all amazing and gave such great service from the moment we arrived. Mirabelle is like a home away from home and we felt like royalty staying here. The beds were very comfortable and we had the best sleep every night, it's quiet and so relaxing, very safe and walking into town was pleasant, safe and only took us about 10 to 15 minutes walk right to the high street with many world class restaurants. Our room had a double shower, this was absolutely enjoyed by us everyday. The pool and pool area was lovely, just chilling there with a glass of wine, coffee or just a book was simply bliss. We loved the Breakfast, as we stayed there for 6 days, I made a point of trying all the hot breakfast that was on offer, and my favourite was the omelette. Nicely prepared and just enough. There's also a continental spread. The owners came round one day during breakfast to have a chat and it was so lovely to chat with them, made us feel so very welcome and appreciated. I give Mirabelle a 10/10 for service, comfort and making our holiday a fabulous one. We will most certainly return when back in Franschhoek, our stay was simply WONDERFUL.

Beautiful accommodation with friendly staff and neat garden and pool area. Breakfasts were basic, a bit lacking in love, and quality variety compared to other stays on our trip. We stayed in a suite and the bed/bedding were super comfortable, especially the pillows. The bathroom however had no ventilation except for the fan and had black mold in the shower and a strong moldy smell. We had to keep the door closed and fan on in the bathroom to avoid the mold and smell. The bathroom towels were also tatty and thin, needs replacing.

My husband and I stayed at Mirabelle Franschheok in November 2023 for two nights. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bed was so comfortable and it was very quiet so we had a great nights sleep. The ladies that work there were so lovely, friendly, polite and helpful. They very kindly did some laundry for us which was such a huge help and I am really greatful for that. Another thing to note that was on the day of check-in, my husband felt very unwell. We drove from Hermanus to Franscheok where he was sick along the way. Check- in time at Mirabell wasn't until 2:00pm and we arrived in Franscheok at 1:00pm. My father-in- law and I asked the ladies if we could check in early as my husband had been sick. They very kindly allowed us to. I am very greatful for that as it meant my husband could rest in bed rather than hand around in the car for an extra hour feeling terrible. A lot of places would have been awkward about an early check-in. Thank you!

La Terra De Luc Guesthouse is located on a historic estate with the stunning Franschhoek Mountains as its backdrop. It offers a peaceful setting just outside of Franschhoek, making it an ideal retreat that's still conveniently close to town. The spacious rooms feature luxurious bathrooms and complimentary mini bars, while the friendly staff ensures a special experience for guests. This working wine and fruit farm boasts 10 comfortable guest rooms and provides a tranquil and scenic environment for visitors to enjoy.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at a self-catering guesthouse in Franschhoek, and it was an unforgettable experience. The room was simply amazing—spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The highlight, however, was the breathtaking views. Whether enjoying a morning coffee on the terrace or unwinding in the evening, the stunning surrounding landscape was a constant source of delight. The guesthouse’s location was perfect for exploring the charming village and its renowned vineyards. I highly recommend this gem for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing getaway in one of South Africa’s most picturesque towns!

We stayed here to attend a wedding nearby, and it was the perfect choice. The location is absolutely stunning and incredibly peaceful. Out of all the places we stayed in South Africa, this was by far the most relaxing. We stayed in cottages 2 and 3, which were very comfortable. There was free Wi-Fi available, and a fridge was provided, which was very convenient. Every morning, we could start the day with breakfast while enjoying a breathtaking view of the mountains. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene getaway!

We stayed in the older rooms. Room 5. Not recommended. The room is a very worn out and needs renovation. There were dust on the floor and tables. The bed is very uncomfortable and noisy. It is a very hard bed with a steel frame. We did not have a good nights sleep. Black out curtains would be have been appreciated and not old wooden dusty blinds. A microwave in the room would have been great. The room could be more sound proof and the door between the rooms lacks a sense of security. It is disappointing that you can not make use of the pool on the premises and only certain areas are allowed to walk around in. The shower flooded the room and we had to use all our towels to contain. The towels were also mouldy and had a smell. The furniture is old, dirty and worn out. All the cupboards in the room do not make sense and it would have helped if they were labeled so you do not have to open them all to search for a fridge. We did not find any warm blankets and there is only one mirror in the bathroom. A mirror in the room would have been appreciated. For the price it is not acceptable as we have stayed in blaces a 1/3 of the price which had better amenities and offered greater value. Very bad experience besides the view.

Beautiful quiet setting. Just outside of Franschhoek which makes it a perfect spot to retreat to after a busy day out but is also close enough to the town centre that anything you need or want is only a three minute drive away. The rooms are large and spacious and the bathrooms are beautiful and luxurious. There is a complimentary mini bar and DSTV and the rooms are cleaned and stocked every day if you run out of anything.

Franschhoek Pass is a renowned mountain pass offering a scenic drive with lookout points that provide stunning views of mountains and valleys. The road R45, located at a distance of 1 hour 10 minutes from Cape Town, leads to this picturesque route. As you traverse the pass, you'll be greeted by lush meadows and vineyards in the Franschhoek Valley. The area's rich history and natural beauty make it an enchanting experience for travelers.
If you're on your way to Franschhoek and have the time, take this mountain pass to town. The road is gorgeous and not difficult to drive. You will be rewarded with beautiful panoramas of rocks, mountains, ravines and more. If you're so inclined, you can also hike a trail that is easy to find. The entrance to Franschhoek from the pass is very dramatic. Stop for a few minutes and take a few pix!

We visited here as a road to Franschheok from Wilderness. We didn’t know that there is a pass here. This pass is awesome! You can enjoy beautiful mountains and canyons. There are not many cars in the road. And there are some points to park the car and see the view. Is it worth to visit? Absolutely! Here is just 5-10minutes from Franschhoek. And round trip from Franschhoek would be take an hour. Highly recommended!

The Franschhoek Pass is absolutely stunning! A breathtaking drive surrounded by towering mountains and lush valleys. Every turn reveals another postcard-perfect view of valleys, vineyards and rugged peaks. By far one of the most scenic routes in the Western Cape. The road is smooth but winding and popular with cyclists, so do take it slow and savour the breathtaking scenery.

Le Lude Estate and Orangerie Restaurant is a charming dining spot located on the picturesque Le Lude estate. The restaurant boasts French-inspired interiors that exude sophistication, creating a serene ambiance for patrons to savor creative cuisine. Chef Nicolene Barrow, with her classical French training from Michelin-starred Le Gavroche in London, puts a contemporary twist on dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients.
A must for anyone wanting a memorable dining experience in Franschhoek! We were so thrilled when Cameron got us a table last minute, he is an absolute gem! Everything exceeded all expectations and the service was top-notch!! We got the pork belly & fillet steak and would highly recommend (we also tried the seafood starter and wow !!). The venue is so romantic and dreamy and we can’t WAIT to come back! Edmund was such a gracious host and our waiter couldn’t have done more for us! Thank you!! It simply doesn’t get better than this! ❤️

We had the afternoon tea experience on a Saturday morning. The venue itself is lovely and bright. There is also outdoor seating, so if weather permits, I recommend sitting in the little courtyard. The treats themselves were alright. We were pleasantly surprised by the passion fruit macaron because we normally don't enjoy them, but this one was delicious. The roast beef sandwich was also quite nice. Otherwise nothing else was memorable. I've had many afternoon/high tea experiences in Cape Town and the surrounds and, while this one was nice, it's not as great as everyone was raving about.

We had the brut tasting at Le Lude, all of them were great and my favourite was the Madame millésime 2015. Definitely recommend this for great cap classique tastings
Sara F — Google review
Dear Le Lude Management, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally express my disappointment following my recent visit to Le Lude. As a loyal customer who regularly purchases the Le Lude Brut, I decided today to explore your other tasting options and enjoy the full experience your estate offers. My family accompanied me, and we ordered a tasting, an affogato, and a cappuccino. During our visit, my baby required a nappy change. Our waiter was exceptionally kind and helpful — she personally guided me through the restaurant to the outside restroom facilities. After changing my baby, I returned the same way to my table, only to be stopped by a manager who told me I was “not allowed to just walk in and walk [my] baby through the restaurant.” I was taken aback by this comment and even asked him to repeat himself, as it made little sense given that I had just followed the same route moments earlier with the assistance of your staff. I found his tone and attitude unnecessarily rude and dismissive, particularly towards a mother managing an infant. This interaction completely overshadowed what had been, up until that point, a pleasant experience. While I have always enjoyed your Le Lude Brut and appreciated the quality of your wines, such unprofessional behaviour from management has left a very negative impression. It is truly disappointing to be treated in this manner, especially at a venue of Le Lude’s standing. I sincerely hope you will address this matter appropriately. Although one customer’s experience may seem insignificant, I believe every guest deserves to be treated with respect and courtesy. I would like to commend the waiter who assisted me — her professionalism stood in stark contrast to the manager’s conduct.
Angelique S — Google review
It's often hard to strike a balance between good food, attentive service, lovely surroundings and price. I felt L'Orangerie did this well. The Cap Classique Rose was lovely and well priced, the service was attentive without being overly fussy and they encourage eating with your hands. Food wise I thought it was good value. The bouibaisse was excellent and whilst little tweaks could have been made to the mains they were both tasty and I left full without looking at the desert menu. This place does not pretend to be fine dining, nor does it charge like one so well worth a visit.
Roger W — Google review
Based on my experience, I do not recommend visiting this restaurant. I had originally booked a table for 2:30 PM, but the restaurant moved my reservation to 2:00 PM. I accepted the change, believing I would still make it. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I was running a little late. I phoned the restaurant about 7 minutes after 2 PM, which I understood to still be within their grace period. I had also paid a deposit to secure my booking, which made the situation even more disappointing. The manager later pointed out that reminders had been sent and that I had the option to cancel within 24 hours. While I understand policies are in place, the reality is that none of us can fully predict how a day might unfold. What mattered most to me was how the situation was handled when I tried to communicate. When I called, I personally found the manager’s tone and attitude extremely unhelpful. In my experience, he spoke over me rather than listening, which left me feeling dismissed and unwelcome. What disappointed me most was that my original booking was 2:30 PM, and I thought there might be some flexibility or consideration, especially since members of my group were already there at 3:00 PM, I would have appreciated it if we had been offered an alternative, like being seated for dinner or waiting for a table. Overall, this was one of the most unpleasant restaurant experiences I have had, and for that reason, I personally cannot recommend it..

Our second stop on the wine tram. It’s such a beautiful place and I got to go up close to the grape vines. We visited their tasting room which was beautiful. We got a bottle of their Brut Rosé to share. It was a delight to drink. They also have a restaurant if you want to have lunch here. It’s such a lovely place to visit!

The Huguenot Memorial Monument, situated at the end of Franschhoek's main street, pays tribute to the Huguenot immigrants who sought refuge in the area during the 1600s and 1700s. The monument, erected in the 1940s, stands as a striking town feature surrounded by beautiful rose bushes and rolling lawns.
Beautiful views, old furniture and loads of pieces, this museum and monument is a must visit. There is a ton of history about the French Huguenots that come to South Africa. There is planets of parking in the street. And tickets are available across the street in the annex. There is also a wonderful perfume museum to smell around. I recommend coming during summer or when it’s not raining, as you will walk between the shops and places.

Amazing place to go to for a Sunday afternoon drive. So much to see and so much to do. Art gallery's, shops and restaurants galore. All I can give is my opinion of what I experienced and I had a great one. All of this to see in Franschhoek.

Holden Manz Wine Estate is a 5-star hidden gem in Franschhoek, offering sophisticated rooms with breakfast and afternoon tea. The estate, established in 2011, has quickly become one of the country's best. Surrounded by magnificent mountains, it serves as a picturesque wedding venue with attentive staff to fulfill all your wishes for your special day.
We had a lovely stay at this beautiful estate. From booking online to arrival, all was great including the security staff member at the gate being informed about us arriving and being so friendly and welcoming. Next we received a welcome drink and a beautiful breakfast the following morning (perfectly poached eggs) AND a wine tasting at the winery which was all perfect and complimentary. We actually arrived late (apologies) and were still accommodated by Dylan who was our host at the tasting. He was extremely pleasant and professional. Their wines are excellent. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone as it was such an all-round lovely experience. The room was also very clean (including a daily clean) and it housed a fireplace (with wood and blitz provided) AND a bottle of red wine. I honestly don't think there is room for improvement as they have already reached such an exceptional standard of excellence. Charlene was also lovely as was Mr Frank and of course the owners. Thank you for a memorable stay.
Laura C — Google review
A beautiful setting immersed with nature and mountains. The main house has some incredible art and a wonderful inviting atmosphere. Room was lovely with a comfortable mattress and breakfast was delicious. The two dogs of the owners were a highlight. All round highly recommended.
Mariette S — Google review
Can’t comment on rooms as we were taking a wine tour. But the experience we did have was fantastic and would highly recommend. Our host David was wonderful. Not only knowledgeable about the wines but engaging about the area. Wonderful experience. Thank you. Oh and did I mention the food. Brilliant and thank you.
Nick S — Google review
Dylan was an asset to Holden Manz- informative and in no rush to impart his knowledge. Another member of staff - young lady Simmie - was great in mentioning the wildlife in the area - baboons and zebra. The welcome we received on the wine tour was far better than some of the other locations. Perfect!

We had an amazing experience at Holden Manz! Vuna and the whole crew were very polite and friendly. The wine selection is amazing and the view is fantastic, the place is must go in Franschhoek
Marina V — Google review
The most perfect location for a vineyard with mountains in the background and soothing fountain sounds. David was a fantastic wine guide and the wines were fabulous particularly the’Big G’. Highly recommend as a stop.

Beautiful vineyard in the heart of Franschhoek. We stopped here on our wine tram tour and were served by Vuna, a very knowledgeable and friendly sommelier. The wines were rich and delicious, varied in character. Would highly recommend! The rose was a standout.

Could be more gluten free options for food but the staff were accomodating and made me a burger without bread buns (I was very thankful for that). Wine tasting was amazing and our wine tasting guide Vuna was full of knowledge, easy to understand and super friendly/accommodating.

Guests can enjoy the in-house restaurant, a swimming pool, and a well-stocked vinotique. The hotel's central location provides easy access to popular restaurants and shops.
This is a good location to experience various wineries. The hotel and restaurant staff were fantastic. The food was excellent! I only give our room (two room apartment) 4 stars because of its location. It was in a different build across the street from the main hotel and close to a place that had live outdoor music most of the night. Other than location, the room was nice.

Gorgeous hotel. Friendly staff. Beautifully appointed rooms. On the morning of check out we left before the restaurant was open so the front desk gave us breakfast to go. They were very generous and gave us orange juice, grapes, apples, oranges, yogurt, nuts, muffins and croissant sandwiches. They truly go above and beyond. Highly recommend!

I stayed at the Protea Hotel in Franschhoek and had an exceptional experience. The service from the hotel staff was outstanding, warm, professional, and attentive. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with elegant decor and striking artwork that adds to its charm. I also dined at Hussar Grill, located at the hotel, and the meal was a highlight of my stay. The steak was cooked to perfection, the cocktails were excellent, and the wine selection truly showcased the best of Franschhoek. A wonderful stay all round and I highly recommended.
Eben M — Google review
Great service, nice room, good location and amenities. However we struggled to sleep because of the noise around the hotel could easily be heard in the room - that's why only 1 star. Walls are so thin to the extent we could hear next door's TV. Also, a bit inconvenient seeing other guests in their rooms if they didn't mind closing their curtains.
Maite G — Google review
Quite an average hotel actually. Id say equivalent to a premier inn in UK. The location though is terrific. You don't get that in the UK. Std Room a bit tired. Hairdryer about to break, rooiboss tea bags from Sri Lanka ??, WiFi poor, small bathroom, no TV channels of substance in room, don't get rooms at front of hotel, as they can be noisy from street. Breakfast poor choices, especially if vegan. Ate in grill last night, didn't think the food was south African top quality. For the rate, I'd stay in a guest house next time.
James G — Google review
We had a great stay. The hotel is clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a nice steak restaurant in the hotel which was great as we were traveling with a little baby so we could have dinner very close by.
Lotte C — Google review
Great property but terrible breakfast. Stay here, just eat somewhere else. Half of the ingredients on their menu was missing on a Sunday morning. Instead of running to the store, they blamed their suppliers. That's not how service works. No coffee options beyond 1 drip coffee tray, also no forks.

La Cotte Farm is a historic and elegant Cape Dutch homestead located within the picturesque La Cotte Farm. The property offers warm, rustic cottages with vineyard and mountain views, as well as an outdoor pool. Surrounded by magnificent gardens and ancient oak trees, the Manor House at La Cotte provides luxurious guest bedrooms with high ceilings, French doors, and private terraces overlooking the landscape.
We were fortunate to travel to South Australia and stay at La Cotte Farm for a friend’s wedding. It was, without a doubt, the most stunning accommodation I’ve ever experienced — from the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains to the beautifully manicured gardens, the gorgeous three-bedroom private cottage we stayed in as a family, and the delicious food we enjoyed throughout our stay. I couldn’t recommend La Cotte more highly - for both a family holiday or wedding. The staff were absolutely lovely, and Cassandra went above and beyond when we accidentally left our passports in the safe — we’re incredibly grateful for her help!

Here’s a warm and heartfelt Google review you could post for La Cotte Farm: --- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had the most incredible experience at La Cotte Farm this past weekend for my son's wedding. From start to finish, everything was beautifully curated and seamless. We were fortunate enough to spend the week end in the charming cottages with family, each one was stylish, comfortable, and surrounded by breathtaking views of the vineyards and mountains. On Friday night, the couple and Bride's family hosted a pre-wedding gathering at the hotel, and the atmosphere was perfect, relaxed, elegant, and welcoming. The staff were attentive and warm, making everyone feel at home. The wedding ceremony took place in the Glass House, and it was simply stunning. The natural light, the views, and the serene setting created a truly unforgettable moment. it was a dream week end! Thank you to the team at La Cotte Farm for helping us celebrate such a special occasion in such a spectacular way. We’ll treasure these memories forever!
Trish P — Google review
An absolutely stunning property, with friendly service, a gorgeous pool area, and breath taking views. Just a short walk into the town centre, but still feels separate (in a good way). We didn't have dinner on the Farm, but the breakfast was the best avo+eggs on toast I've ever had - and it was a birthday breakfast so champagne obligatory. 100% recommend this property, nothing bad to say at all.
Drew O — Google review
An unbelievable picturesque setting. The views are out of this world and the rooms were cozy. The restaurant staff made a plan when we needed them to and I’m so thankful. My cousin got married here and this will forever be a memory of a magical experience.

My wife and I stayed in one of the orchard cottages for a few nights during our honeymoon. The cottage was beautiful, spacious and came with the most spectacular views of the mountains. After staying in hotels and eating out everyday prior to arriving it was a welcome change to be able to cook our own BBQs on the veranda. Service and staff were all amazing - highly recommend.
Charlie H — Google review
Really cold cottage rooms during the night in mid October. We had the heating on in both rooms and the log burner on high, but it was so cold that our infant barely slept. The rooms themselves are recently refurbished but as a result stank of gloss paint. The downstairs mattress was awful to sleep on, to the point we all had to move upstairs in to the single beds, which weren't much an improvement. The scenery is amazing but beyond that we didn't enjoy our stay. This was 2 nights of our 20 nights stay in SA and our worst 2 nights by far. Reception staff didn't ask me how my stay was so I'll air my views here instead. We wish we stayed somewhere else, which is a shame given the price and the fact it's very Instagram friendly. The garden area by the pool would be nice on a summer's day, however the pool is cleaned in the morning and fills up with leaves and insects very quickly.
Chet V — Google review
The location and looks of the cottage was great but thats unfortunately the only positives for me. The cottage was freezing cold and even with the fire on and both heating systems on it was still exceptionally cold which made it an extremely uncomfortable stay. In addition to this, the mattress on the downstairs bed was very hard and the pillows were very soft which caused a lot of back pain. The cottage smelt of paint which was not healthy for our 6 month old baby. Staff delivered the high chair in a timely manner, however it was very dirty which required additional cleaning. I had also sanitised some baby bottles and set them to dry on the middle table which requires a very specific process and housekeeping washed it all and put it on the drying rack which meant I had to repeat the full process again. We were not asked how our stay was during our stay or upon check out. I would not recommend La Cotte Farm.

Nestled in the heart of Franschhoek, Centre Ville Guest House is truly a hidden gem that exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we made our reservation, we knew we were in for a special experience. Tracey-Leigh provided us with invaluable information about local restaurants and attractions, setting the stage for a memorable stay. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Alrenzo, and the check-in process was seamless. Our Harmony Room was a spacious sanctuary equipped with the necessary amenities including a TV, air conditioning, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The private entrance door to the roadside ensured our privacy, allowing us to relax and unwind without any disturbances. One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the breakfast experience. The selection was nothing short of heavenly, offering both cold and hot options that catered to every palate. With such a delectable spread, there was no chance of going hungry in the morning. The guesthouse's amenities further enhanced our stay. One can take full advantage of the sparkling small pool, perfect for cooling off after a day of exploration. The communal seating area, complete with a piano, added to the charm of the establishment, inviting guests to relax and mingle in a welcoming atmosphere. Outside dedicated parking is provided across the road in a parking lot for Centre Ville Guest House. Our hosts Jaco and Elsa were very friendly and helpful and their guesthouse was beautiful. Breakfast is very good served out in the garden but it was much too cool to try the pool. We stayed for 3 nights and celebrated a birthday. First off, this place has better service than many 5 star hotels I've ever stayed in. The staff are nothing short of amazing! From the calm and friendly welcome to the free wine tasting to the awesome breakfast, which was just what we needed pre and post a day on the wine tram. The staff went absolutely above and beyond when it came to helping celebrate a birthday, organizing beautiful flowers and a spread of fresh fruits. It was more than perfect. The bed was huge, the sheets were soft. The bathroom was modern and super clean. Air-conditioned and a minibar. You are 5 minutes walk to the main street and it's safe enough to walk home from town after sunset. Everything was just perfect, thank you so much!

We just stayed here for two nights with a baby and can not recommend this enough. They were super welcoming, put a baby cot into the room without us even having to ask. The king size bed was huge and easily the most comfortable one I stayed in for ages. Also really enjoyed the breakfast, French style buffet with loads of fresh fruit alongside great choices for eggs made for you. Would definitely come again.

UPDATE: RESPONSE TO OWNER: The dirt behind the door remained uncleaned, and we were not offered a complimentary bottle of wine. A one-night refund, which we did not accept, was not what we were seeking—we requested a full refund so we could find alternative accommodations without incurring extra costs. The filthy grout and dirty blinds are not simply a result of the building’s age; they reflect poor maintenance. The staff at the Corner House were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with tasty fruit, bread, cold cuts and croissants. We didn't try the hot dishes. We were very disappointed with our room.I raised these concerns with the staff, requesting an additional vacuum and a more thorough cleaning, particularly for a wet area. While the water was wiped away, the spot behind the door—which I had specifically pointed out—was still left untouched. The bathroom grout is in desperate need of cleaning, and there are large cracks behind the door that have been completely neglected. While the house itself has potential, it is in need of maintenance throughout. My aunt’s room was good. We had asked for a full refund so that we could find another place to stay. After our departure we were given a one nights refund, which we had declined, as this is not what we were after. Michaela has assured me that the room is blocked for 2 days to repair the wall and the fridge and give it a good clean.

We are a couple in our 30s. We loved the hotel and the central location in Franschhoek. The hotel is a walkable distance from restaurants, shops and the wine tram. The pool area is lovely and is bigger than the photos show. Complementary tea and coffee and cake of the day was a nice touch. Thanks so much for the beautiful stay. Friendly staff, great room wirh the balcony overlooking the mountains, delicious breakfast, great location! Most of all though is how far the service went whem we accidentally left a bag behind. We only realized once we arrived in capetown. The manager took it to their cape town branch where we picked it up. Truly remarkable and made out vacation less strssful than it could have been. After seeing and finding out about the tree house deeply regreted not going there. Next time though!

Rooms were a bit dated but still well furnished in a victorian style. Service was excellent! What a find, in beautiful grounds with superb mountain views! Quiet area but easy walk into Franschhoek town (15mins). Lisa the Manager was excellent as were the rest of the staff; very attentive and pleasant throughout. The two pools offer more than enough room for all the guests to chill out, and they serve an adequate free breakfast. Great guest house overall. Breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. The pool was very welcomed in the heat and the room was comfortable. Safe parking. Very friendly host who was available if needed but also gave us privacy.

Had a very enjoyable stay here. The host Debbie was very friendly and full of helpful tips and information about the town. Lovely breakfast also. Highly recommend this spot

It was a great experience to stay here. The owners are super friendly and made sure we had all we need and are comfortable during our stay. There was even a turn down service with a personalized note every night. The room was modern, comfortable and spacious. It was snowing in Franschoek but we were never cold while we were in the room. Breakfast was amazing. Like you are staying in a 5 star hotel. Price per night is also quite reasonable.

Friendly owners. Went of their way to accomodate us. We were going on the winetram and instead of walking there the owner insisted on dropping us off personally. Nice pool and comfortable beds. Bathrooms modern and clean. The breakfast is very good. There are only two bungalows so the setting is private and personal. Would be great place for those not looking for the commercial accommodation where you are just a number. Would go again.

The hosts Debbie and Lee were fantastic, the rooms were perfect and super comfortable beds. Great breakfast near the pool. Would highly recommend

The B&B is situated close to the main street of Franschhoek, making it a perfect location for exploring the town and its surrounding 20 wine farms. Guests have praised the owner's excellent recommendations for restaurants and wineries, as well as the delicious homemade breakfast featuring jam, bacon, eggs, and bread.
Perfect location to visit Franschoek! The house is great and rooms are big and it is very clean. The owner gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and wineries. The breakfast was great, with homemade jam, bacon and eggs as well as self made bread. It is like living with a lovely host family :-) Town is easily walkable.

📍 An Unforgettable Experience! I stayed at this wonderful place and the experience exceeded all expectations. Nice location. Great Breakfast. Lovely Owner!!!!!!!!! She gave us excellent recommendations for the best restaurants in town and which wineries to be visited. Felt like visiting friends. Excellent location for visiting Franschhoek.

This place you can definitely call “home away from home”. Mercia is doing all her best to serve her guests as if they were her closest friends or relatives. The room itself (there’re two of them at this moment) is spotless clean, cosy and is equipped with everything you need. It is close to the Wine tram and to the very center, and as Franschoek is a safe town you can take an evening stroll back from the restaurant to Mercia’s house :) The car parking is at the street just opposite the house, and it is safe as well. And one should not forget that you stay at this excellent place for the fair price especially compared to the most hotels in the town. I love Franschoek and planning to return, not only because of the town itself but because of my wish to meet Mercia again. Thank you so much and wish you all the best!

The only place I will stay at when visiting Franschhoek. The owners are salt of the earth, the rooms are super clean with a homey-feel, immaculately decorated. I highly recommend it!

Our host Renée was a delight bubbly and welcoming, as were all the staff. The room was warm as toast and a roaring log fire in the lounge a fantastic treat after a chilly walk. The grounds are a pleasure to stroll and bistro, though we never ate at looked amazing. We will definitely be back.

Such a cozy place with an intimate atmosphere. Lovely fireplace in the lounge. The dining area for breakfast was a bit tight to fit everyone in and it made for an awkward last morning, but otherwise, it was a beautiful place. Amazing space to run 🏃‍♀️ all over the farm.

Fab place to stay with amazing restaurants

The accommodation was superb & the staff were friendly & helpful. The environment was attractive & the place is ideally situated being on a wine farm but still very close to Franchoek.

Amazing location. Amazing property. Amazing staff. A lot of privacy. Amazing place to stay at Franschhoek. Only critical thing was the rather poor Wi-Fi! But apparently they are working on getting the speed up!
