The outdoor seating at the front of this establishment appears very relaxed and comfortable but we found the rear smoking section to be very charming and secluded lending itself to a long, relaxing and inspiring dining experience. The waitress was very friendly but somewhat unprepared and uninformed about the menu. The menu and cocktail options were not quite what we had hoped for and we felt that the options were too expensive to gamble on should you not like what you get. The mussel starter was however an absolute delight and we recommend it wholeheartedly!

The staff were super friendly and even entertained our one year old. A high chair was ready before we arrived, and they checked in often. The food looked amazing and the place had a classy, high end feel. I had ribs and my wife had risotto; both good, though the rib sauce was a bit too sweet and the risotto just okay. My dark hazelnut hot chocolate wasn’t very dark. Great service and style, just needs a little more from the kitchen, especially considering the price.

What a find! I'd go to Tulbagh just to eat here again. All three our meals were top quality and very tasty. The decor is modern and smart and we loved the large fireplace heating us on a cold Winter's day. Staff are friendly and we appreciated the unexpected little mahala starter with butternut dip - such gestures always work! If I had to find something that could improve, it would be that the ladies' room in the hotel really smelled of damp and mold, but that was far from the stunning restaurant. I can't wait to return to try other dishes on this menu too.

Simple food made to perfection. Friendly staff, great service and just a great experience all-round everytime! ***Edit*** Visited here again on 1 Feb 2025 and ordered the Pork Belly - it was fantastic! In fact, our entire meal, together with cocktails, was perfect!

One of the best dining experiences in a while. The staff are all very friendly and pleasant. The food was great (I had the Rogan Josh lamb), the atmosphere and decor were inviting and charming. With the lovely fireplace giving it a cozy feel. My pizza (for takeaway) took a while though. But I had lovely interactions with different staff members while waiting. Almost forgot: the carrot cake was mouthwatering! Simply delicious!

I found myself stopping over in Tulbagh, drawn to the inviting charm of Readers Restaurant. The warm, rustic décor made me feel right at home. I ordered their famous BLT burger, and when it arrived, the massive portion did not disappoint. Piled high with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and juicy tomato between perfectly toasted buns, it was a delicious feast. Each bite was a satisfying blend of smoky, savory, and fresh flavors. Readers Restaurant was more than just a quick stopover—it was a memorable dining experience that left me completely satisfied. A solid four out of five!

Ordered the Smoked trout with ginger and wasabi (the ginger and wasabi was missing) but it was very nice. Pork chop was also good

South African soul food, felt like our meals came from a friend’s kitchen. Carol came by a few times to chat and check up on us. Would highly recommend Readers (and their wine list is also super). Great hospitality and would definitely return.

The restaurant is in a historical building from 1750. It is the second oldest building in Tulbach. The food was excellent and tasty. It arrived fairly quickly and the waitresses were very friendly, professional and efficient. The atmosphere is wonderful in this historic building with yellow wood making a large portion of the building material. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with toiletries. The owner is a cat lover and there are cat statues at the entrance and two friendly cats that roam around the restaurant. Prices were also very reasonable. It is well worth a visit if you are in Tulbach.

What a cosy little place with the most friendly cats to welcome us, along with a complimentary sherry. The food was delicious, service friendly and very good value for money. The owner Carol was very attentive as were her staff. Tulbagh is the fourth oldest town in South Africa with the Dutch settlers arriving in the early 1700’s. With several wine farms in the area, and other interesting historical sites, it’s well worth a visit.

We took a chance on Paddagang while driving around Tulbagh town, and we were really glad we did! This was such a great gem to find. This restaurant is being revived post covid and wow but they are doing fantastically! Their portions are so generous and I absolutely loved the true authentic bobotie. The fireplace is a lovely touch on a miserable day. Their wine list has all you need! We topped it off with some tasty waffles (which are hard to find in Tulbagh). Best of all was their friendly service! Definitely don’t miss out

We had a wonderful Sunday Lunch at Paddagang today (Sunday)  Service was good. Loved the atmosphere,  love the music, will definitely go there again.

Such a lovely setting on a large piece of ground. Sitting in air conditioning area indoors or outdoors great menu and alcoholic beverages. Ample parking. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

I have a phobia of frogs but I can assure you that this place is safe, even you can see some frogs. I thought they had a wine testing but they didn't and it doesn't change the taste of the wine and the samosa! Awesome If you're an international traveller and want to try local food, then their Malva pudding is the best! Come here during summer (Mid Sept - Early Nov) and you will be spoiled by the roses, flowers and beautiful views.

Classy Cape Dutch establishment offering fine dining and beer and wine tasting and purchases. Kids playroom with pillows and books, water bowl for dogs. Small stretch of roughish gravel road to parking. Well kept lawn. Beautiful and cozy setting. Chocolate cake is devine. Lemon maringue also very good. Wines were also excellent.

One of our favourite places! Stunning location, amazing food and wine and Kaylin was an absolute delight. She looked after us like family. My husband was very impressed by the craft beer tasting

We are so glad that we came across this beautiful spot in Tulbagh. We have been going to Tulbagh for years, visiting all the well known wine farms, and we will definitely be returning to this gem. The restaurant is open and spacious with large stackable windows and doors. You immediately become aware of the expansive grounds with the stunning mountain views. A jungle gym for kids as well as Donkeys and Horses nearby for feeding. Our waiter (Leon) went above and beyond for us. Having a toddler can be hectic when eating out but the waiters offered crayons and paper and even drew a little drawing for our boy to colour in. Leon even went to fetch the horses and donkeys so we could feed them carrots. We had the vegan pizza and sampled the jalapenos poppers. Both were excellent. The kiddies menus had plenty of options to choose from which kept our toddler well grazed. We also had the Buchanan beer tasting which was 6 locally made beers. Very good beer tasting and value for money. We were pleasantly surprised with the bill - everything was well priced for such a great experience.

A true Tulbagh gem. Its off the beaten path but is definitely worth the drive. The menu is quite extensive and interesting with the restaurant itself being cute and rustic with a great view onto the mountains. There's a children's play area too. The food is well portioned and was very tasty. We had the chicken burger and the spinach and ricotta lasagna which were both great. Other meals coming out of the kitchen looked hugely appetising, would definitely recommend

Beautiful place with picturesque scenery. The food was delicious! Our waiter Leon was very enthusiastic and made great suggestions. He went the extra mile and made us feel welcome. The beer tasting was fun and the beers were of great quality. The food portions were large and everything was cooked to perfection. The menu provides vegetarian and gluten-free options (not very varied but the gluten-free burger - the buns were substituted for black mushrooms- was magnificent). I would definitely recommend stopping here. They have various specials on different days of the week. They also offer a picknick option and they have a children's play area. At the gate a board proclaims bookings only, however if they have space available they do help walk-ins.

What an amazing little find in the Tulbagh Valley. I had a quick chat with the new owners, we will definitely be back. Burgers were really good, probably of the best we've ever had, very yummy!!! Lovely walk around the Olive Grove and past the farm dams. Superb spot 😊

One of the nicest picnics we have ever experienced. Calm, relaxing, romantic, scenic. Absolutely stunning views. Look the food was amazing, I'm not a dessert person but that was hands down one of the best desserts I have ever had. Malva base topped with blueberry cheesecake... Yummmm

Really amazing place with superb food and service! The food was very well presented and tasted amazing. The salad was a little small for a full meal though. Prices are very reasonable though. Service was very attentive. This is a great place for families and couples. The restaurant has a very relaxed seating area, with a choice of sitting either inside or outside. Bookings are strongly recommended, as they can get quite busy over the weekend. I will definitly be going there again.

From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm welcome. The food, cocktails and service was amazing! One of the best steaks I have had. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.

Came here for lunch with my wife and child. We shared a German-style pizza, it was delicious, and my kid had chicken strips which were great too. We sat in a shaded area overlooking the pool, such a beautiful and relaxing spot. The staff were super helpful with recommendations.

Food: serves the best rips ever....meat fell from the bone,cooked perfectly and the basting flavours worked well together. Service: Hosts was friendly,hospitable and the staff was professional fast to respond and give more intel on the menu when asked. Overall: The venue was great for our team cohesion session, there were no interference and we enjoyed the location very much, I'm personally looking forward to my next visit.

Very nice atmosphere, great service and food. Didn’t really care for the unisex bathrooms but the food made up for it. They are a very dog friendly restaurant and allowed our two shepherd mixs to sit on the patio. Very nice experience. 4 stars.

What a gem of a place! From the wonderfully relaxed, beautiful atmosphere to the warm welcome by Mike our waiter and Karien the owner - and the best peri-peri chicken livers. We will definitely pop in again when I’m this part of the world.

Living in Wolseley, Harvest Table has become our home away from home. The service is always very good and the food as well. Karien and her staff have become like our extended family. Whether you feel like a pizza, a burger or whatever you are in the mood for eating, you won't leave hungry.

This is the place to go to if you like Marrow Bone, trust me on this one!! Marrow bones cut length-wise and prepared in their pizza oven is served with lightly toasted farm bread and a lemon slice. Scoop some of it on the bread, spread it thinly, drizzle some lemon drops on it, add freshly ground pepper and a bit of salt - then eat yourself into a delightful stupor. You will go back for more :-)

It was the first time trying out the restaurant Here are the good and bad points. Good points: 1.Great location and view! 2.Lovely terrace 3.Food was good overall,but hasnt got any wow factor... 4.Very clean bathrooms Bad points: 1.Service were slow and non attentive,waited 15 mins just to get water on a 36 C day 2.Different waiteresses serving us.Its better for one person to serve the table 3.Salad should have dressing on the side 4.Bottled water not cold 5.Could not make a proper Cappucino 6.Did not receive a confirmation email for the booking

Horrid experience. We'd planned to go here for our wedding anniversary lunch. On arrival there was nobody to greet us, we waited ages for menus and wine tasting. Then we were "blessed" with the food menu which was dismal, they couldn't offer us a sambal for our chicken curry because, "they didn't have stock of onions and tomatoes". Then I see children under 10 years old serving customers as "waiters". Shocking really. I was in this industry for years and this is the worst experience both my husband and I have had for a long, long time. Get it right.

What a beautiful setting with a view of the dam and the mountain nestling the restaurant in the Tulbagh Valley. Menu changes regularly with light and main meals. They all have a South African flare and the two we had were perfectly prepared. The restaurant is conveniently situated about 300m from the start of the MTB trails making it an ideal stop for lunch and a drink after a good session on the trails. Accommodation is limited to 4 cottages so booking ahead is recommended.

Four of us went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. For the prices of the food, we expected something special. The fish was bland, the steak could have been cooked better at home (and with more creative accompaniments), the one vegetable side never came, and the potato chips were very bland and didn’t come with any sauce to help it - at least not until one of us had to go ask at reception for tomato sauce (not to mention that it was obviously store bought oven bake chips). The restaurant is beautifully maintained and the view is stunning. It has a lot of potential, but the staff needs to be trained better and the menu needs improving. We wanted to follow our meal with a wine tasting, but none of the staff knew anything about the wines and therefore claimed they couldn't help us (we would have been fine with tasting notes). With all the other good restaurants to choose from in the area, something needs to be done here, and soon.

Go for the crispy fries, so much double cooked crispiness to be had. Always makes me happy when a restaurant takes the time to ensure that the plate is balanced and the lovely crispiness of the chips complimented the soft pillowy textures of the wraps perfectly. Cafe Latte was wonderfully creamy and our waiter was a joy to interact with, wonderful time had by all.

Atmosphere:: What a lovely setting in one of the historic streets in Tulbagh. Having a meal, staring out the large glass windows is fantastic. This is a very popular place and thus attracts a nice bustle of people. Food:: The roosterkoek is the best I've ever had. Locals seem to come here to buy packets of it to take back home. I would highly recommend the Gypsy and Herbie roosterkoek. Fresh, warm and a generous amount of toppings. The crunch chicken wrap contained scrumptious deep-fried chicken strips and all comes together well with the creamy avo. Their prices are competitive. Coffee:: I would've rated 4 star had their roosterkoek and pastel de nata not been such a winner. I would highly recommend a calibration of the espresso machine and/or a professional refresher course for the barista and/or an experiment with a different coffee bean company (Espressolab, Wings, Seam or Rosetta beans come to mind for possibilities); the current coffee is decently strong but very under extracted and that is evident from the acidic tasting coffee which lacks depth of flavour. Service:: The service is more on the relaxed side but not so much as to cause concern, most tables were receiving their meals in good time. There was a slight oopsie and delay with our order, we ended up waiting 40min or so- but Kole & Deeg were quick to grant us 2 x pastel de nata on the house and gave us top-class service from then on. Side note:: I wander what people are to order if breakfast ends 11:30 and lunch only starts at 12:00??

What an awesome place. We were a large group of 43. The food and service were excellent. The rooster koek toasties were very tasty and value for your money. The wraps are very big and yummy!!! I'm definitely going back.

Best breakfast and coffee I've had this year. All round excellent with super friendly staff as well, welcoming us back at a second visit. Well worth choosing this restaurant if breaking away to Tulbagh and even worth driving through for it. I cannot recommend it enough! PS: I had the karoo, deboned lamb rib and coleslaw and a flat white. Delectable!

Excellent cheesecake (by far!), coffee and sandwiches - opt for the rooster koek option. They also make a fine spinach and feta quiche. Relaxing outdoor seating options available. Warm and friendly service!! Would love to have a branch in Cape Town!

We ate here twice in two days, because the food is so good. I am a big fan of toasted cheeses and honestly the “gypsy” - ham, cheese, and tomato on roosterkoek is possibly the best one I’ve ever had! The mango and mint freezo is also delicious. Will always stop in when we are in the area.

A lovely secluded place in Tulbagh, with super friendly staff. We came in for a late lunch and despite the menu stating we were ‘late’ for our preferred dish, the staff were very accommodating and served us a couple of delicious ‘broodjies’. It is optional to have a table in the front but the outside high terrace in the back is very, very nice. Highly recommended!

Fantastic gem in the Boland. Newly opened venue but is already leaving its mark. Very nice market/ deli stocked to the brim with upmarket (read - not pricy), fresh ingredients. All you need to cover your basic food needs for a day. Then the restaurant. Although a limited menu at this stage, it leaves nothing to be desired. Top notch ingredients, amazing culinary fusion and flavours, all prepared meticulously by Chef Pieter and his team. A must visit destination when you are in the Cape.

Absolutely shameful, prawns were meant to be lemon butter, but smothered in curry spices, vegetables so overdone seemed like recycled from yesterday, same with soggy “double fried” chips. The beef filet was good. Manager and Waitress were professional in dealing with situation, owner did not personally attend but agreed to refund one plate and provided wine complimentary. Still at R900 for 4 was expensive.

A most welcome addition to Tulbagh's culinary scene with open kitchen, outside area in front and now a great one at the back as well. Chef Pieter Malan has a most interesting history on the continent you should ask about! And the team's excellent (and has the best sense of humor).

SUPERB attention to detail in every way. With a top quality fit-out, Chef Pieter Malan and his brilliant team are making huge inroads into this historical town of Tulbagh, delivering something that had been missing to both tourism and residence here. Foresight is everything, and once again, we see this Western Cape country town, being transformed by more creatives. The town has a history of many artists residing here, with many famous people finding home here also over the years. What makes Tulbagh appealing is its diversity and rawness. Not too polished, but the gems are here. I wish you much success.

Beautiful dining experience in a historic street with a magnificent view (if seated outside). An exquisite atmosphere and beautiful finishes make the indoor seating exude an authentic elegance. While the service was great and the food absolutely mouthwatering, we felt that the menu could do with being more varied and that even a dining experience as upmarket as this could do more to cater to local tastes and budgets.

I came across this beauty the first night in Tulbagh. Upon entry you're met with a very warm classy feel, despite the colours of the walls being dark. The staff and friendly fur babies (belonging to the owners but were mostly out of the way) are very welcoming. The owners were so genuine and down to earth. In addition, my waitress assisted me with some technical issues while I quickly completed a work meeting. One word comes to mind when reminiscing about the food and that is flavour (especially for a vegetarian). The food (risotto and chickpea soup) was full of flavour without an overwhelming comprise, and not only during eating but when prepared again as a left over did the ingredients demonstrate an organic tasty experience. At the time I visited the restaurant hadn't yet obtained a liquor license but the waitress informed me you could bring your own. I enjoyed a fresh tumeric shot and came back again after all the wine tasting which was very refreshing and reviving. I would love to see many others enjoy the experience of this lovely restaurant.

The outside tables seem to be a better option for seating with a beautiful view of the mountains. A small menu but does show variety from fish to meat and vegan options. Food is tasty and well presented.

I decided on an iced coffee, a Springbok carpaccio for starters and a Katsu Chicken curry. The carpaccio was light, refreshing and flavourful. The meaty Springbok complimented the salty Parmesan shavings well which was further offset by the added rocket 🦌🧀🥬 The Katsu chicken curry was a first for me. It isn’t like your traditional curry but rather a Japanese style one where a crumbed chicken fillet is served with an incredibly flavourful sauce. Would recommend giving this one a try 🐓🥫 Their service is excellent having provided us with regular ice cold water top-ups as we chatted the afternoon away. What a little gem this restaurant is, set in an historic building down a magnificent tree-lined street. Excellent service and sublime food with indoor and outdoor seating. Good selection of vegetarian and vegan options.

We had a lovely time dining at Daphne’s. The staff were incredibly kind and we received great service from Kaylin. The food was incredible - beautifully plated, perfect portions, and delicious flavours. Outside seating offers a picturesque view of the mountains and beautiful lights in the evening; inside offers beautiful artwork and an intimate vibe. Everything down to the music, cutlery, and crockery was perfect and created a warm, romantic atmosphere. Highly recommended, 5 stars.

What a GEM!! We walked past this quant restaurant when staying near by and thought we’d try our luck to get a booking. Everything from the first phone call, was professional & warm! We were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the owner on the porch of his own restaurant and led to our table. The food was totally exceptional, with fantastic specials - something for everyone. Highlight was the mushroom risotto & Ostrich main course…. So delicious! If you are staying in Tulbagh or in a surrounding town, this place is a must!

I went with work colleagues over the weekend for wine tasting. It was very enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed the 3 red options.

Nothing special about the food, except that it's not pricey (e.g R70 for pulled pork on mash with coleslaw, or R90 for not-so-great venison pie with chips or coleslaw).

I haven't been to spur in a while and i just wanted to thank our waiter, Bernie, she really helped with choosing great meals. My friend and I were very happy with her customer service. She really went out of her way and I really appreciate it.

The minute we walked in, we weren’t acknowledged for a while. When our waiter seated us, we once again waited to order. Our cutlery was dirty. Our drinks took a while to come. We ordered starters (mozzarella sticks and nachos), which were good. I ordered a chicken bacon and avo salad. When I got it, there were no croutons. We asked where it was, with no intention of getting it but just out of curiosity. She said that she’d check with the kitchen and that took a while as well. When she eventually brought the croutons, it was just bits of bread, toasted and doused in oil. She never came to check on us. We constantly had to look for her. All in all, the food was fairly okay, but the service was unpleasant. It might have just been an off day, but I would not come back.

Sandra gave the best service Ive experienced at a Spur. Very attentive, food came fast, once finished eating immediaty brought tooth pics. Very clean Spur. Food portion was big and ingredients fresh. Friemdly managet also came to check in. Wonderful experience. Thank you Sandra, kitchen staff and management.

We received superb customer service at Rocky River Spur Ceres .I'll advise anyone and everyone to visit this branch . The food was cooked to perfection ,customer service was splendid.The service of our waiter Shanelda was amazing and even the front of house manager came to check up on us so many times Thank you to all the staff our experience was amazing

Oh dear...turns spur doesnt do monkeygland sauce anymore (why?!?!?!?!?) So thought to opt for a goodie burger (pineapple and mushroom sauce) Sauce was so bland felt like i was eating baby food, sweet potato chips also had zero flavour. The venue itself was quite lovely with its outdoor section which gave it an extra star for me. Honestly though, without monkeygland burgers i doubt I'll ever return. Farewell Spur, it was a good 20yr run...

I brought my toddler to Spur because it was her Birthday. The waitress Sandra was absolutely great and the service was on point.

Do you enjoy a great Apple Pie? Amazing home made - on the premises and packed with locally farm apples. Not overly sweet. Very tasty!

Had a lovely lunch at Fynbos farm-stall. The pizza was some of the best we’ve ever had. Thin crust. Fresh ingredients. Loved our visit. Our daughter loved the play area and her new unicorn. The staff was so friendly and we were even allowed to bring in our Boxer. The Great Dane onsite was very welcoming 😊 Thank you! We’ll definitely be back.

What a lovely little farmstal with great take away food, since it being level 4 lockdown and no sit-in allowed. We order the fish and chips and we were really surprised with the freshly made fish, grilled to perfection and the chips. The wait was all worth it and them we stopped just outside on the side of the road and enjoyed our lunch with the most beautiful views om the surrounding farms and mountains. When passing by, do make a point if stopping and support them, you will not be disappointed

What a wonderful and homely place! We were directed here from the Tourism office in Tulbagh - and boy are we glad we found it. From amazing starters, to delicious mains and great wines! This coupled with how kind and welcoming the staff, owners and wine maker were made being there such a pleasant and wonderful experience. For starters - I had butternut soup and for mains I had the pork belly! Both excellent choices and it was perfect for the cold weather. Highly recommend this place for anyone in the area looking for a hearty meal at affordable prices! 💛

Such a great place, from the moment we arrived we were welcomed by happy friendly staff. We also brought our pet with and they had a bowl of water for him before we even set down! We did the wine tasting which included really good wine and a lovely explanation. A really great wine farm with amazing views. Our top picks was the unwooded Chardonnay, the rose and the Cabernet Sauvignon. We ended our experience with delicious freshly made dessert.

We arrived on a rainy, chilly Sunday afternoon in November after being pointed in the direction of Diggers by our original destination restaurant, which was full. And are we glad! Warm reception by Janet, her husband and their enchanting staff - we were happy to sit by the open fire. And the food was excellent. One of our number ate the chicken liver starter three times over! All in all, a delightful and unexpectedly wonderful experience. A sincere thank you from the three of us.

We had lunch at the restaurant and are very disappointed with the food, we had asian chicken curry and oxtail stew which was more a soup than a stew with rice at the bottom of it,and small portions, also the mussels was more a starter portion than a main meal. Dessert was just as disappointing small portions, literally one teaspoon of icecream. Our waiter Leandra however tried her best to keep is happy. Will definitely not be going back.

A hidden gem off the beaten track just outside Tulbagh. The petite collection of wines at Diggers Place are a compliment to the wine maker, Albert. The restaurant has a simple offering of unusual, well presented, delicious food. The farm owner, David, and all his staff make you feel welcome and important. Don't go to Tulbagh without visiting Diggers Home.

Nice find for a Sunday tasting and above average platter style foods. Try the whitebait! Excellent boutique wines, but don't expect grandiose surroundings. Totally worth a stop.

We were fortunate to attend a pre opening event of the renovated Daphne's Bistro and while we sampled only a few of the options on offer the taste and flavour was fresh, light, tasty and gave an exceptionally authentic Italian vibe. Decent prices and great atmosphere with exceptional views of the surrounding mountains at the Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape. If they can maintain the quality of the food this comfortable eatery will quickly become the number one destination for the hungry traveller.

We enjoyed a very relaxing evening at Daphne's. The food tasted authentically Italian (some ingredients are imported from Italy). The owner took some time to chat with us which we appreciated. The outside setting is even more beautiful during the day.

This is a fantastic restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful. They accommodate our 9 month old with ease making us all feel comfortable. The food is delicious and authentic Italian style. The servings are generous and will definitely relieve your hunger. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining under large trees. This is very nice on a hot day in Tulbag. There is also an outdoor play area to entertain the children whilst dinning. To get to the restaurant there is a bit of a drive on a gravel road but it is worth the experience this venue provides.

What a beautiful restaurant. Unfortunately we were there during rainy season, but it was still so lovely and cozy inside. All the staff were lovely, the pizza was delicious. Definitely recommend.

Daphne’s Bistro – A Lovely Dining Spot! We had a fantastic experience at Daphne’s Bistro. The pizza was delicious – perfectly crisp and full of flavor. Service was friendly and attentive, and the wine selection was excellent. Both the indoor and outdoor seating areas are beautifully set up, with a relaxed atmosphere and a stunning view to top it all off. A wonderful place to enjoy a great meal – highly recommended!

We visited Tulbagh for a weekend and decided to dine at Daphne’s on the Saturday night and we were not disappointed. When first driving up, you are wondering what is this place in the middle of now where but then you enter the bistro you are transported to little cafe in Italy. Lovely atmosphere with a fireplace, the best music playing and attentive and friendly staff. It does have a nice romantic feel but it’s ideal for families too as there is a huge garden area for kids to play. We enjoyed the pizza and pasta offerings and the care taken to provide a quality experience. A little gem worth checking out.

Thank you to Markus and team for a splendidly relaxing Easter Sunday afternoon! A wine tasting experience unexpectedly turned into us tasting the harvest lunch - if this is anything to go by, then I’m certain the al la carte menu would be amazing. (The chocolate mousse was delicious!) The views of the estate and surrounding mountains were the added bonus, together with the friendly atmosphere created by the team.

I recently visited The Taste Manley and had a positive experience. The food was good, with tasty dishes and decent portions. They also had some fun games set up outside, which added a nice touch and made it a good spot to hang out with friends. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Overall, it was a pleasant evening.

The Taste Manley Restaurant – A True Gem! Absolutely outstanding experience! The service was exceptional – the staff went above and beyond by literally carrying a table outside just so we could enjoy the beautiful view when all outdoor seating was taken. The springbok shank was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the burrata was fresh and perfectly paired. This is truly one of the best restaurants we’ve been to in South Africa – not only for the amazing food but also for the warm, attentive service. Great value for money and a stunning outdoor setting. Highly recommend!

Excellent food (the snap bread, vegan dumplings and pumpkin fritters were all excellent choices) in a lovely garden setting (we sat on the terrace). The highlight: a visit from the resident black and white kitten. The lowlight: slow service.

We visited Tulbagh for the weekend and decided to dine at The Taste on the Friday evening. The outisde terrace has beautiful views and is lovely and romantic for a night out. In colder weather there is a fireplace in the indoor seating area which has a bit more formal atmosphere. The service was excellent and the food was tasty with above average portions. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

We had the absolute privilege of dinning with some friends at this unassuming establishment. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and the service was top class. Friendly, warm, knowledgable and attentive. The food was absolutely sublime with the Patagonia Calamari delicious and on my list of dished to have again. Unfortunately did not even think to take photo's until the deserts arrived. Without a doubt The Taste Manley is a place I will be returning to.

Salt of the Earth is a memorable experience from the warm welcome to the time you depart. The food is expertly prepared and sumptuous. The dishes complement the Seven Oaks range of wines.

What a nice experience and the food was excellent

The service was quick and the food albeit fastfood, was good... Staff were helpful and quick to assist when asked. The only reason for 3 stars is that there are no facilities to wash your hands and when I was there they were a bit reluctant to give too many serviettes. The complex does have a toilet(bathroom) HOWEVER you are required to pay to enter with a coin in a slot system.

Highly disappointing. Ordered the doritos pizza, looked worse than dog food being thrown together. No tomato base, had to pile on more of my own ingredients and cheese to make it half-edible. Wont order here ever again. Absolutely no pride in what they present.

I phoned in at 18h30 to place an order and was told the system is off line. I will have to go in to the shop to order. They assured me that they will close at 20h00. We arrived at the shop at 19h00 and the doors were closed but all the staff still inside. They did not even bothered to look up when we knocked.. we really needed a pizza for the next day. The children are going to Cape town and needed to take food with. I will not buy from you again.

We always order our pizza on our way back from the city. By the time we get to Ceres, they are ready. We pick them up and 1 hour later, arriving home we enjoy them. Friendly staff and scrumptious food! Thank-you Ceres Debonairs!

I cannot even give this place 1 star. The owner, Amanda du Plessis, is the rudest person we have ever come across. We waited over an hour and 15 minutes for pizzas, calling them about 7 times after waiting 50 minutes and every time a lie about the driver being on his way doing 7 deliveries. Ans she cannot even apologise to us for making us wait so long. No, she would rather fight and threaten us. Will NEVER go back there again.

Very disappointed in the service at Debonairs Ceres, Im a regular client, I normally buy Pizzas for my clients the double pizzas and normally ask for separated boxes as they are for different clients, now I have to pay R4 per box..so much for going the extra mile for your clients. You were my favourite Debonairs, all of a sudden you wont see me again. Best you get yourself friendlier staff as they hardly greet you or smile when taking your order. No thank you nothing!

Just don't hope for the ice cream machine to work. It will chomp your money without you having your ice cream. I'm R20 down and icecreamless. May I come back next time for my ice cream dunked in chocolate sauce? Shame on this place!

Awful establishment and service received on Monday. Ordered icecreams - she got the order wrong and appeared to be upset that she had to do it over again, like it's my problem! No apology, no eye contact and proper customer service. It's like they doing me a favour when it's a job. Pathetic manager as well. She didn't bother to apologize. Jobs are scarce in our country, offer it to someone more deserving. If you don't like your job, quit. It's simple! I've taken down names to report this.

We are huge fans of Steers. Friendly service and staff. Thank you. Waiting period for orders sometimes extremely long. Its time consuming and frustrating. Unfortunately, on 2 different occasions, we did not receive the take aways according to our order (2 burgers less than payed for). We realized that 30 km from the franchise. Overall, satisfactory.

Waited over an hour for my food worse customer service people that were behind me got their food first on top of that they want me to pay for babeque sauce at what steers do you pay for the very sause that they put on youre burger never have i paid for babeque sauce thos is just worse

These guys deserve their full 4 stars (on 3.9 at time of writing this). The food was good. The food is always good. Great fries and tasty burgers. But the service was great. The service was efficient and friendly and helpful. If you're in Ceres and looking for a quick, easy and reliably tasty meal, give Steers a go.

Very busy on a Friday evening the lines progressed very swiftly but we still had to wait a few minutes for the food. Soft serve cones was served immediately without delay. Looks pretty neat and the staff assisted us with a smile. Variety of fast food available which is reasonably tasty for the price tag.

I have been here many many times over the years. Things have changed. This branch must be closed- bad food and service. We travel alot to support our clients so we stop at alot of wimpys all over. This one had gone done - no idea the issue - if you cannot deliver good food and service then close your doors. No-one is clearly passionate about anything. We waited forever even though we were literally the only people. I had a meal which I refused to pay for. Enough said. So so sad and disappointed 😞

Wimpy is always a steady go to Venue . Great menu , quality food and Coffee is top notch . Added to this the free Wi Fi and in emergency power points to charge uour Laptop and Phone . My Favourite venue when out and working on the road . Staff always Friendly and very Clean with Fresh Daily newspapers .

I asked if everything on menu was available. Then i get served sirloin in stead of salmon...which was not available. Then i wait 20 mins for kingklip. My friends were finished eating by that time. They dont serve fish knives. They dont fix broken fans. Nee man.

We were the only coloured's and was shown to tables at the side of the resturant .it was dimly lit with oil lamps in glasses. The wood tables was not appealing . The malva pudding was delicious and the waiter was very polite and gave good service. Though we had to wait a very a long time for our pudding to be served.

I bought 15 big bites 3's and only received 14 ...we only discover this whiles arriving back at Wolseley. The cashiers assured me that the amount was correct ....2 boxes 1 had 6 and the 1 eight parcels in it. OR slip 1375 the cashier's kept the receipt.

I went to go watch a live show there and had a blast - the menu seemed a bit pricey but maybe that's just the region? Anyway I had a pizza and it was great. I'll definitely go back to watch more live music there (there's not much else to do there- it's not kid friendly) Oh! And the decor was right up my alley - rock n roll chic! I gave the rooms 5 stars- because there arnt any as far as I know 😂 5 stars to not mess with the average rating

We had the Cheese Burger, Butter chicken and the kids had the chicken nuggets. Everything was cooked to perfection, the fireplace was lit, the atmosphere was just great. Food was amazing and I would really recommend this place!

Excellent stop with lots of things to see and also excellent food. An amazing environment for petrol heads to enjoy. Watch F1 or WSBK or MotoGP on the big screen as well. Bar was well stocked with all the favourites.

My son and I stayed at The Village Guest House in Ceres while attending the Eselfontein Trail Run and MTB Stage Race. He participated in the trail run, while I took on the mountain biking. The guest house was clean, comfortable, and offered great value for money. We were impressed by their honesty; after we left, they called us to let us know we’d forgotten a charger. When we returned a couple of weeks later, they unfortunately couldn't locate it but went out of their way to reimburse us for it. Their professionalism and integrity really stood out. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a trustworthy, pleasant stay in Ceres

Unfriendly staff. They were more interested in the rugby than help guests. The food were terrible. Since when do you cook a T bone. Only food in the table that we enjoyed was the soup. The rain were pouring crazy. No one to help get luggage into room. We smoke outside. No roof in the stoop.

Friendly staff and good rooms to overnight. Food on the other hand was a little mediocre and needs some love. We were a large group with pre arranged menu and it took a long time to come out.

We stayed two nights, family room is very spacious. Fantastic dinner served, we are sorry we didn't have dinner here both nights!

I recently stayed at the Village Guesthouse in Ceres and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory, warranting a two-star rating. One of the major drawbacks was the limited menu options available at the on-site restaurant. The menu lacked variety and failed to cater to various dietary preferences. Moreover, the wait time for food was exceptionally long, causing inconvenience and frustration among guests. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and their service lacked efficiency and promptness. This issue seriously impacted the overall dining experience. Adding to the disappointment, some of the menu items were out of stock during my visit, leaving me with even fewer choices for a satisfying meal. It was disappointing to see that the restaurant couldn't maintain a sufficient inventory of their menu items. Although the Village Guesthouse had potential, the shortcomings in their restaurant's menu, coupled with the lengthy wait times and frequent out-of-stock items, negatively impacted my stay. I hope they take these concerns into consideration and make necessary improvements to enhance the overall guest experience in the future

What a pleasant surprise. Lovely clean and comfortable accommodation. Outstanding food. Friendlier, and more helpful staff yiu will not find. Unfortunately they had two parties for outsiders while we stayed at their guesthouse which means the pool and garden area were out of bounds to the guests. The one event took place from 4-7 and the kitchen was closed to guests from 1pm. I do understand that they would lose a lot of money not having outside functions, but as a guesthouse paying guest it felt unfair that we were unable to enjoy the pool and get a meal or coffee from 1-7pm. Especially seems there is a sign that says pool Is for house guests only.

Worth it...! Had the Philly Cheesesteak... 🤤
