Historical landmark
Gumbaz-e-Shahi in Srirangapattana is a grand mausoleum of Tipu Sultan, featuring a domed structure with intricate latticework and well-maintained grounds. It is the final resting place of Tipu Sultan and his parents, drawing Hindu visitors who come to immerse the ashes of their deceased relatives.
Peaceful and majestic – resting place of Tipu Sultan! After exploring Daria Daulat Bagh, we headed to the Gumbaz in Srirangapatna. Before entering, we enjoyed some snacks from the stalls outside — there are plenty of small eateries and refreshment points nearby. Entry to the Gumbaz is free, but there’s a small charge for the shoe stand (we paid ₹20 for four pairs of shoes and chappals). The moment you step inside the complex, you feel a deep sense of calm and reverence. The Gumbaz houses the tombs of Tipu Sultan, his father Hyder Ali, and his mother Fakhr-un-Nisa Begum, all placed in the center of a beautifully maintained garden. The structure is truly grand — built in Indo-Islamic style with a large dome, elegant black granite pillars, and intricately carved ivory doors. The marble interiors are simple yet royal, reflecting the dignity of the Sultan’s legacy. The surrounding garden adds to the serenity of the place, and the atmosphere is peaceful despite being a popular tourist stop. Overall, it was a wonderful experience — calm, historic, and beautifully preserved. A must-visit spot in Srirangapatna to complete the Tipu Sultan heritage circuit. ⭐ Tip: Visit early morning or before sunset for a peaceful ambiance and pleasant weather. Don’t forget to explore the small museum-like hall beside the tomb for more historical details

Very peaceful and Historical Place, We get to know about the History of Hazrath Tippu Sultan (R.A) There is a Masjid Named Masjid e Aqsa which is very Beautiful in terms of Architecture and Ofcourse Gumbaz. But it’s very crowded on weekends and People coming there makes it Dirty in Garden and other places, it’s a historical Monument we have to preserve this.
Inayath U — Google review
Gumbaz e Shahi in Srirangapatna is a historically significant and architecturally stunning mausoleum that houses the tombs of Tipu Sultan, his father Hyder Ali, and his mother Fakhr-Un-Nisa. This site is a must-visit for history enthusiasts, as it stands as a reminder of Tipu Sultan’s legacy and his resistance against British rule. The structure is a fine example of **Persian and Indo-Islamic architecture**, with its grand dome, intricately carved pillars, and beautiful floral motifs. The black granite tombstones inside are simple yet powerful, reflecting the dignity of the rulers buried here. Surrounding the mausoleum is a well-maintained garden, adding to the peaceful ambiance. The lush greenery, combined with the historical significance of the place, makes it a great spot for reflection and photography. One of the best aspects of Gumbaz e Shahi is its calm and less commercialized atmosphere compared to other tourist sites. However, the lack of proper restroom facilities and limited seating areas can be a slight inconvenience for visitors, especially seniors. Also, while the monument itself is well-maintained, the entry pathways and parking area could be improved, particularly during peak tourist seasons. Located near other historical sites like Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace and the Ranganathaswamy Temple, Gumbaz e Shahi can be easily included in a day trip to Srirangapatna. Whether you’re a history buff, an architecture enthusiast, or someone looking for a peaceful place to visit, this mausoleum is definitely worth exploring. It’s not just a monument—it’s a tribute to one of India’s most remarkable rulers.

Resting place of Tipu sultan and his family members. There is no entry fee but we have to pay to keep our footwear outside. There are many other gravestones of multiple family members and it is mentioned there. There is also another mosque outside it. Daria Daulat Bagh, also known as Tipu's Summer Palace, is a historical gem located in Srirangapatna. Constructed in 1784, this Indo-Saracenic masterpiece was built from teak and rosewood and features lavish decorations covering its interiors. The palace is adorned with intricate floral designs on the ceilings and murals depicting courtly life and Tipu's campaigns against the British on the walls.
You can visit if you are interested to see tipu sultan's belongings, they are left with very few of his stuff like guns, swords, 1 set of silk wear and few paintings. The archaelogical survey of india is currently doing some restoration of the palace. Note: DSLR's are NOT allowed, please carry only mobile phone.
KUNTAL B — Google review
Daria Daulat Bagh is also known as summer palace of tippu. I liked the courtyard footpath. The palace was under renovation when I visited. It shows some wall painitings and the explanation is provided on the board below the paintings. Some british medals, works of famous painters and different items used during Tipu's era are exhibited for visiters to view. The paintings talk about major battles and fall of srirangapatna. The ticket was taken online by scanning QR code available on the premises of the palace. It costed Rs20/- for an Indian adult. There is dedicated parking space as well and the security person was very helpful in guiding. There is also an outlet of cavery emporium opposite the palace premises. Food options are also available both inside and outside the palace.
Athira N — Google review
Beautifully preserved glimpse into Tipu Sultan’s grandeur and artistry! We visited Daria Daulat Bagh right after the Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangapatna. Entry tickets are ₹20 per adult — no paper tickets here, just scan the QR code at the gate, which was quite convenient. Having already seen Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace in Bangalore, we were amazed at how much more impressive this one is — larger, better maintained, and filled with intricate wall and ceiling paintings. The murals are absolutely stunning, depicting battles, royal processions, and portraits (including Tipu Sultan’s son). Inside, you can also see a small display of arms and coins. Outside the palace, cannons and stone cannonballs add to the historical feel. The palace stands amidst a lush, beautifully landscaped garden, with neatly maintained lawns, tall trees, and pathways perfect for a relaxed stroll. Architecturally, this Indo-Islamic style teakwood palace (built in 1784) showcases Tipu’s love for art and elegance, with floral motifs and Persian-style murals adorning almost every surface. Overall, a must-visit in Srirangapatna — a perfect blend of history, art, and nature. Great spot for photography and peaceful exploration. ⭐ Tip: Visit early morning or late afternoon to enjoy the gardens in pleasant weather, and don’t miss reading the small information boards that describe the mural scenes — they make the visit even more interesting!
Amit K — Google review
There is plenty of parking space available. However, the only issue is that you need to book your entry ticket yourself using a QR code, which can be difficult for illiterate and elderly people as it requires details like Aadhaar ID, nationality, etc. The garden is well-maintained and beautifully decorated with flowers. Inside, you can see Tippu Sultan’s story depicted through paintings and wall art that narrate the rise and fall of Srirangapatna. The museum also displays old pistols, Tippu Sultan’s dress, and the furniture he used. Overall, it was a good experience visiting this place.
Adhvaith — Google review
To be very honest, this is a very average place. Situated between a very vast garden, it is a very small structure. You'll be finding swords, coins, and some paitings. But nothing to intrigue your historical curiosity. And the place is under constant repair. You will be allowed to roam only the bottom floor. The ASI staffs stationed here are not so friendly. They did act as if we did any mistake by availing tickets to this place.

Daria Daulat Bagh (literally "Garden of the Sea of Wealth') is a palace located in the city of Srirangapatna, near Mysore in southern India. It is mostly made of teakwood.Daria Daulat Palace is the Tippu Sultan Museum. It has a collection of Tippu memorabilia, European paintings, and Persian manuscripts. The museum has the painting Storming of Srirangapattanam, an oil painting by Sir Robert Ker Porter made in 1800. This historical painting depicts the final fall of Srirangapatana on 4 May 1799.

over sprawling lawns and a beautifully kept Garden with some old mature trees lies this Summer Palace which is outside the fortified walls of srirangapatna. The palace is made of teak with lots of original art still intact and the the historical society has been doing a reasonable job of restoring the palace to would be its former glory. The large murals on the outside of the palace are breathtaking in terms of how they depict the victories of Hyder Ali and Tipu. The inside has art by British army folks that depicts the the fall of Sri rangapatna as well as pictures of tipu's sons that surrendered in the war. The ticket entry is a little annoying. the only way to get in is through a QR code and you have to buy the ticket on through a smartphone. there are no active ticket counters. expect to spend somewhere around 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours if you want to look at every artwork individually There is plenty of parking and the place is spread out.

Nestled along the serene banks of a river, the Shri Ranganathaswami Temple, also known as Pancharanga Kshetra, is a revered pilgrimage destination that boasts intricate carvings and historic architecture. This ancient temple dates back to 984 CE and stands as a stunning architectural marvel near Mysore, close to the site of Tipu Sultan's demise. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his reclining form (Anantha Shayana), visitors are often captivated by the idol itself.
Just breathtaking architecture — every pillar, carving, and corner here quietly tells a story if you take a moment to observe it. The place is beautifully maintained and carries a calm, positive vibe all around. If you can, take some time to sit quietly inside and soak in the atmosphere. Also, don’t miss out on looking around the temple complex and surroundings — the views outside are equally serene and worth a glance. A peaceful, well-preserved spot perfect for those who appreciate heritage and fine craftsmanship.

Shri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangapatna is one of the most beautiful and spiritually enriching temples in Karnataka. Dedicated to Lord Ranganatha, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, this temple is not only a sacred pilgrimage site but also a masterpiece of ancient South Indian architecture. The moment you step inside, you can feel the divine atmosphere and the deep sense of peace that surrounds the temple. The temple’s architecture is truly magnificent, showcasing the fine craftsmanship of the Vijayanagara and Hoysala periods. The tall gopuram (entrance tower) with its detailed carvings, the majestic sanctum, and the beautifully sculpted pillars all reflect the glory of traditional Dravidian style. Inside, the main deity — Lord Ranganatha reclining on the serpent Adisesha — is an awe-inspiring sight. The idol is large, intricately carved, and radiates a powerful divine presence. The temple is very well maintained and clean, and the priests perform the rituals with great devotion and discipline. The chanting, aroma of incense, and ringing of bells make the experience even more spiritual. It’s a wonderful place to sit quietly, pray, and feel connected to divine energy. The temple complex also has smaller shrines dedicated to other deities, and the surrounding area has a calm and traditional atmosphere. It’s located near the banks of the Cauvery River, which adds to the beauty and serenity of the place. Visiting during early mornings or evenings is especially peaceful. Overall, Shri Ranganathaswamy Temple is a must-visit for anyone coming to Srirangapatna or Mysore. It’s not just a temple, but a living symbol of devotion, culture, and history. A perfect place to experience spiritual bliss, admire ancient art, and feel the sacred heritage of Karnataka. Highly recommended for devotees, history lovers, and tourists alike!
Raikar A — Google review
Visited the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangapatna recently, and it’s truly a place that blends peace, history, and architectural beauty. The temple is set right on the island formed by the river Kaveri, which gives it such a calm and divine vibe. The moment you step inside, the detailed carvings, tall gopuram, and ancient stone structures just grab your attention — it really shows the craftsmanship of our ancestors. The idol of Lord Vishnu reclining on the serpent Adisesha is beautifully sculpted and radiates serenity. Even though the place gets quite crowded, especially during weekends and festivals, the atmosphere still feels peaceful. The temple is also very well maintained — clean premises, proper queues, and a sense of order throughout. There are several smaller shrines within the temple complex, each with its own story and charm. The surrounding area is also scenic, with the river and greenery adding to the spiritual experience. Overall, it’s not just a temple visit but a complete cultural and historical experience. If you’re around Mysore or Mandya, this is one place you shouldn’t miss — both for its spiritual importance and its breathtaking architecture.
Explorer_kushh — Google review
The temple's antiquity is remarkable, with inscriptions dating its construction to 984 CE by a local chief of the Western Ganga dynasty. Over the centuries, it received significant patronage from the Hoysalas, the Vijayanagara Empire, and the Wodeyar kings of Mysore, resulting in a fascinating blend of architectural styles. The imposing Raja Gopuram (entrance tower) showcases the striking features of Vijayanagara architecture. Inside, you are greeted by columned halls (mantapas) adorned with intricately carved pillars, many displaying the fine craftsmanship of the Hoysala period, including sculptures depicting the 24 forms of Lord Vishnu The main deity, Lord Ranganatha, is a mesmerizing manifestation of Vishnu in a reclining posture (Yoganidra), resting on the coils of the cosmic serpent Adishesha, whose seven hoods canopy the Lord. This idol is one of the largest reclining forms of Vishnu in the region, radiating a powerful sense of divine peace and stillness. The main goddess, Ranganayaki, has a separate shrine within the large, concentric rectangular enclosures (prakara) of the complex. The spiritual significance is heightened by the temple’s location, with the holy Kaveri River flowing around the island. It is traditional for devotees to take a dip at the nearby ghats before entering. The temple is protected as a monument of national importance and is generally open from 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM and reopens from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM (check specific timings as they can vary). While general entry is free, one can opt for a quicker darshan ticket to save time during crowded periods. For a truly fulfilling experience, pair your visit here with the nearby historical sites of Tipu Sultan’s era, as the town itself is a repository of Karnataka’s rich past.
Sreedevi B — Google review
We reached the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple around 11:30 AM, and it was quite crowded. Even with a special darshan ticket, it took a long time to get darshan. The temple is ancient and beautifully maintained, and the spiritual atmosphere inside is truly divine. It's better to visit early in the morning to avoid the heavy rush and enjoy a peaceful darshan experience.
Tintu R — Google review
Very peaceful and nice temple. Pls carry cash on weekends for special darshan and prasadam. 50 rs for special entry and 50 for laddu. Temple is best in its natural form.
Vijay K — Google review
A decent temple. There is not much carving out on the rocks (they are just plain simple rock pillars). However, the resting idol of Lord Vishnu is magnificent! Though the temple was built back in 9th century, it doesn't feel like that due to lot of cement construction works done recently. Its a shame that the structure is not preserved correctly. This place seems to attract a lot many people, and thus please be assured that you will have to wait in a long queue.

Colonel Bailey's Dungeon, located in Srirangapatna, was once a place of imprisonment and torture during the reign of Tipu Sultan. Named after British prisoner Colonel Bailey who died there in 1780, this historic site features below-ground chambers where foreign prisoners were held and subjected to gruesome punishments. Visitors can explore the eerie underground dungeons and witness remnants of its dark past, including a cannon used during that time.
It's fairly well-maintained. We went during the afternoon time so it was pretty warm. Nothing much to see here, but there's a lot of history here. It's better to get a guide here. We got Mr. Neelkantha ji, who described everything in detail. He seemed really passionate about the history of Srirangapatnam and has immense knowledge. He didn't set any price for his service and was happy with whatever we provided him. We didn't take much pictures inside. This was on the top.

Good preservation! Gives a peek into the confinement of British by Tippu for which it was built. It was in this dungeon that Col. Bailey died and hence the name. Garden with lawn is maintained outside.. and is located just beside Ranganatha Temple behind Railway station. A 15min visit is worth!

The dungeon is actually a mass execution facility used by Tippu Sultan to execute large numbers of British Soldiers and army officials. Col. Bailey was one of yhe people executed there later known under his name due to his value. You may ask your driver to take you to Tippu’s Jail which is the place’s local name.

This is an historical place of great importance. This was the dungeon used by Mughal ruler Tippu Sultan to confine the British people. The name was derived from Mr. Colonel Baileys who was confined in this dungeon and died and hence the name. This place has no entrance fee. There is no parking lot as such but cars can be parked. This is a must place to visit for people who are very much interested in History.
Sharon D — Google review
A great place of historical importance. The dungeon was believed to be used for punishing Brittish officers. The arrangement for flooding the dungeon with crocodiles from Kaveri river and the built-up for watching and attacking the enemies are interesting.
Capt N — Google review
This place hides a lot of beautiful details inside. This dungeon was used for punishment of British officers by Tipu Sultan. Especially just drowning the officers in water from Kaveri which used to flow in. The officer’s hands were tied to the metal plates on both the sides and drowned in the water. There was a gate here which has now been covered by ASI. At the extreme end inside the dungeon, there’s a hole which opens up a passageway to Mysore but it has now been blocked by the Government. You can see a beautiful view of the Kaveri river from the side of this place.

Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple Gopura, located in Srirangapatna, Karnataka, is a renowned ancient temple built by the Ganga kings in 894 AD. Over the years, it has been enhanced by rulers such as the Hoysala kings, Vijaynagar, and Mysore kings. This historical site is a must-visit on any Mysore trip itinerary.
Srirangapatnam Shri Ranganathaswamy temple is one of the 108 sri vaishnava divya deshas. The temple hosts the sacred idol of Shri ranganatha swamy in the sanctum scentorium, sri Narasimha Swamy, sri mahalakshmi, Sri Venkateshwara swamy and hanuman. Now coming to the temple and it's facilities, I have visited this temple multiple times. According to me the best time to visit is in the evenings so that one can sit peacefully and enjoy the cool breeze in sacred, serene atmosphere. Usually, it is very crowded during the weekends, holidays and holy days. But the best time to visit would be the weekdays. There is free darshan and special darshan, typically during weekdays when it is less crowded, it takes around 15-20 mins to complete the free darshan. When it is crowded one can opt for special darshan which costs Rs 50/- that will ease your way to sanctum scentorium while free darshan may take typically 60-90mins considering the crowd. Outside the temple there are many small shops that sell different types of handicraft items. Buying them depends on your interest and art of negotiation.

This is one of the oldest temples in Mysore, dedicated to Lord Ranganatha (Vishnu). The temple has traditional South Indian architecture and gives a very divine and peaceful environment. A nice spot for both devotees and visitors.
Sanket M — Google review
Very beautiful temple that shows the reclining Vishnu, among other deities. Rich in history and culture with intricate stone carvings and destroyed areas have been refurbished. If you stand in the general queue which gets a bit crowded and it can take a long time. If you pay ₹50 there is a shorter queue with lesser crowd. Plus you get to see the outer temple area as well which is very beautiful and peaceful.
Chitra B — Google review
Very beautiful old temple, particularly the main Idol of Vishnu is mesmerizing. Very clean inside. You can Very easily keep your shoe outside with a nominal charge.

The Commemorative Obelisk is a historic stone monument located in the Srirangapatna Fortress, built in 1907 to honor the British victory over Tipu Sultan during the Siege of Seringapatam in 1799. This simple yet significant obelisk symbolizes gratitude for the return of the Wodeyars' throne and commemorates the lives lost during this pivotal event. The site offers a secluded and serene atmosphere, with beautiful scenery surrounding it.
Very nice place to visit, most of the people will not visit this place. Our tourism department should maintain cleanliness & provide big route maps.
Vasanth R — Google review
This obelisk was erected by Govt of Mysore in 1907 under Wodeyars commemorating the 1799 war which led to Tippu's death. It records the different parties that participated in the war and their strength. The surroundings are more beautiful as you can see river Kaveri splitting into 2 here.. Both railway bridges are visible as well. This place needs better access and currently there is zero maintenance. Hope authorities look into it.
Pranav M — Google review
All stars for this historical marker and a massive disappointment for ASI to maintain this area in shambles. Part of the larger Srirangapatinam historical complex and fort town, the obelisk was erected as a sycophant move by the erstwhile Mysore administration for commemorating the siege of Srirangapatinam by the British Forces which allowed the reinstalling of the Wodeyar dynasty as administrators of this principality. Access road condition is fairly ok except for the last 200 m. Stretch which is unpaved. Nothing much in the name of a main gate and maintenance of the actual access walking pathway to the main structure. Delhi Gate monument (or whatever is left of it) is right in the vicinity. A peaceful spot, be careful of selfie seekers and potential safety concerns if here post twilight. The only security guard around, was busy napping away in broad daylight.
Abhishek B — Google review
This place is so peaceful. Not even a single person was there when i visited this place. From this we can see some scenery, River and bridges. Filled with greenary

Sri Nimishambha Temple – Near Srirangapatna, on the banks of River Kaveri Visited this peaceful temple as part of the KSRTC one-day trip to Melukote. The temple is beautifully located right next to the Kaveri river, offering a serene and spiritual atmosphere. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Nimishambha, a form of Parvati, who is believed to fulfill devotees' wishes in just a minute (nimisha) — hence the name. The surroundings are calm and ideal for a short break and darshan. A must-visit if you're in the Srirangapatna or Melukote area. We were told to take 20 rs ticket for faster dharshan

I went on the Mahalaya amavasya day and it was crowded. It is located on the banks of kaveri river. I had to stand in queue for around 20-30mins for darshana. Special darshana is offered at Rs20/- & direct darshana at Rs 100/- in September 2025. There is hanuman idol as well. The laddu prasada is available 4 for Rs 100/-. Annadana is also provided. There is a small mandi outside the temple where people sell fresh vegetables and fruits and fried fritters as well. Between temple and river, there is navagraha stana and banyan tree. They also have ample parking space. It feels very divine to be in the premise. The only downside was the crowd as I visited the temple on an auspicious day.

Nimishamba Temple, Srirangapatna (Mysuru) located on the serene banks of the Cauvery River, the Nimishamba Temple is one of the most peaceful and spiritually uplifting places near Mysuru. Just a short drive (around 20 minutes) from the city, this temple beautifully combines divine energy, natural beauty, and traditional South Indian architecture — making it a must-visit for devotees and travelers alike. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Nimishamba, believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi. According to local belief, the goddess fulfills the sincere wishes of her devotees in a ‘nimisha’ (minute) — hence the name Nimishamba. The temple’s spiritual energy is felt the moment you enter, with devotees offering prayers and chanting softly around the sanctum. The main deity is beautifully adorned with flowers and jewelry, and the Vibhoothi (sacred ash) given here is said to be very powerful. The temple also houses shrines of Lord Shiva and other deities, creating a calm, divine atmosphere all around. 🌅 Location & Surroundings The temple’s location along the Cauvery River adds a magical charm. The sound of flowing water, gentle breeze, and scenic river views create an incredibly soothing environment for meditation or quiet reflection. Visitors often spend time sitting by the river after their darshan, soaking in the peaceful vibes. During early mornings and evenings, the view is breathtaking — especially during sunrise and sunset, when the temple glows in golden light. 🙏 Spiritual Experience The temple is well-maintained, and the priests perform rituals sincerely. Many devotees visit on Tuesdays, Fridays, and full moon days, which are considered auspicious. The Poojas and Alankarams are performed with devotion and discipline, making it a wonderful experience for anyone seeking inner peace. 🧘‍♀️ Cleanliness & Facilities The premises are clean and organized, with dedicated footwear stands and a shaded area for resting. There’s parking available nearby, and local stalls outside the temple sell flowers, coconuts, and prasadam. The temple management ensures the surroundings remain neat, even during crowded festive days. 📸 Photography & Atmosphere Photography is usually allowed in the outer areas, especially near the riverbank. Many visitors love capturing the beautiful temple tower reflected in the water. The gentle sound of temple bells mixed with river waves creates a divine, cinematic experience that’s hard to forget. ⭐ Overall Verdict The Nimishamba Temple is not just a place of worship — it’s a spiritual retreat filled with positivity, calmness, and devotion. Whether you’re a local devotee or a traveler exploring Mysuru and Srirangapatna, this temple offers a truly soulful experience that stays in your heart long after you leave. Best time to visit: Early morning or evening Perfect for: Devotees, families, spiritual seekers, and nature lovers

The Tipu Sultan Fort, also known as Srirangapatna Fort, is a historic site with origins dating back to 1454. It has changed hands among various rulers including the Wodeyars, Nawab of Arcot, Peshwas and the Marathas before coming under Tipu Sultan in 1782. The fort played a significant role in the 18th-century Mysore Wars and now showcases artifacts from that era in its museum.
In my opinion, it is something that should not be missed if you go to Mysore. The Fort, Gumbaz, Dharia Doulath, etc., were beautiful better than Mysore palace

It's just 5 minutes drive away from Tipu Sultan's summer palace. Fort isn't huge and vast as you'd imagine it to be. However it is well preserved. Clean and green. Serene and peaceful. Good architectural masterpiece. Real stones of that era were preserved. Entry door is amazing. One must not miss if nearby.

The place is full of history and gives a glimpse into the era of Tipu Sultan. The architecture is impressive, and the walls and gateways still hold the charm of the past. There are some well-maintained areas, but a few sections could use better upkeep and information boards. It's a great spot for history lovers and those interested in Mysore's heritage.
Tintu R — Google review
I recently visited Tipu Sultan Fort and it truly felt like stepping back in time. As I walked through the stone walls and arches, I imagined how powerful and strategic this fort must have been during Tipu Sultan’s time. The architecture was simple yet strong, with traces of Mughal and Islamic styles. Inside, I saw places like the old dungeons and the mosque, and even the spot where Tipu Sultan is believed to have made his final stand. It felt emotional and powerful to be in a place where so much history happened. The surroundings were peaceful, and I loved how nature blended with the old fort walls. It wasn’t a crowded tourist spot when I went, so I got to explore quietly and take in the atmosphere. If you enjoy visiting historical places that still carry the spirit of the past, this fort is definitely worth a visit.

Dodda Gosai Ghat, located along the serene River Cauvery near the Sangam, offers a peaceful and devotional experience. While it has seen an increase in tourist visits leading to some littering, the ghat still retains its charm with sparkling water and coracle rides available for a more enjoyable experience. Visitors can also explore the old Kashi Vishweshwara temple on the banks.
This place is a testimonial of what happens to the funds collected by the larger population. Access to the ghat is pathetic, money from the community that uses the ghat vanishes in no time. The ghat does not have a good road! The directions for the ghat are in poor condition, if not for Google maps, you will get lost! Money is collected for all the rituals that are performed, but no facilities are provided, anyways, the larger community does not even bother!!!! Parking is paid and is a scam, the guy is a local who is just making money with no help to the visitors!!! No parking spots, no access to the ghat, upkeep of the place for rituals is again a loot. Absolutely frustrated with everything at the ghat. However, 5 stars is for the nature and the significance this place holds. Let the majority sleep for ever!!!!!!

Its a nice place to spend quality time on the bank of Kaveri. You can take a dip here if you know swimming. There is decent amount of parking, but the roads are currently in bad shape for about 500 meters and there is lack of toilet facilities. Hopefully this will be improved in future.

Beautiful Kaveri river bank with a few steps to reach the waters. The last couple of steps can be slippery so one needs to be cautious. A few dilapidated temples are there. Parking is limited with no markings and the attendant goes missing after collecting the parking fees. However the scenic beauty of the place leaves one spellbound.

It doesn’t look clean for the charges. It’s a nice pit stop on way to Mysuru. Four stars for place not for maintenance

Visited thise place for asti visarjane. Just a km away from the kaveri shore, few people were collecting ₹80 from us for using the pathetic kuccha mud road as mujarai toll fee (near to Kashi Vishwanath temple). Not sure if it's authentic. People claiming to be the owners of land adjoining the shore didn't allow us to head to the shore for asti visarjane unless we paid them a minimum ₹200/- . Water not clean a dip and achamana with lots wastes and clothes floating there.

The Tipu Sultan Summer Palace, originally built for the famous ruler, is now accessible to the public as a museum in Mysore. The palace and its well-maintained surroundings are a must-see attraction. Although booking tickets can be tricky due to the use of QR codes and Paytm, admission is reasonably priced at 20rs per ticket with free entry for children under 10 years old.
A must-visit gem of Srirangapatna – Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace! After visiting the Ranganathaswamy Temple, our next stop was Daria Daulat Bagh, the famous summer palace of Tipu Sultan. The entry process is simple — ₹20 per adult, paid by scanning a QR code at the entrance (no paper tickets). We had earlier visited Tipu Sultan’s palace in Bangalore, but this one truly stands out. The moment you step inside, the vivid wall and ceiling paintings capture your attention — scenes of battles, royal processions, and portraits of Tipu and his family beautifully preserved over centuries. The artistic detail and vibrant colors are just mesmerizing. There’s also a small display of old weapons and arms, and outside you can spot a cannon with stone cannonballs, adding to the royal ambience. The palace sits within a huge, beautifully maintained garden — green lawns, tall and old trees, and peaceful pathways make it a lovely place to walk around. Architecturally, it’s a fine example of Indo-Islamic design, built mostly in teakwood around 1784. The structure, though not very large, exudes elegance with its ornate arches, floral motifs, and rich paintings that narrate the history of Tipu’s reign. Overall, Daria Daulat Bagh offers a wonderful combination of history, art, and natural beauty. Perfect for families, history lovers, and photography enthusiasts alike.
Amit K — Google review
The Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace in Bangalore is a beautiful example of Indo-Islamic architecture and a window into the regal lifestyle of Tipu Sultan. Built mostly of teak wood, the palace features intricately carved pillars, arches, and balconies that reflect fine craftsmanship and elegance. Though the structure is not very large, its charm lies in the delicate details and the historical significance it carries. The small museum inside displays portraits, artifacts, and information about Tipu Sultan’s life and reign, offering visitors a glimpse into his legacy. The palace is well-maintained and surrounded by greenery, creating a calm and pleasant atmosphere. Overall, it’s a fascinating spot for history and architecture lovers who want to experience a piece of Mysore’s royal past.

The palace is surrounded by the good garden and trees. I visited in week day, and the rush was very less. More info: 20 rupees per person for entry ticket. Photos are allowed to take. There is a mule cart ride available which costs 200 per ride.

Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace has an entry fee of ₹20 per adult, which must be purchased online by scanning a QR code at the entrance. The palace closes sharply at 5 PM. Though the building itself is relatively small, it is surrounded by a vast garden with a rich variety of plants. Inside, visitors can view paintings, portraits, swords, and pistols on display. Some of the wall paintings are damaged, and the site is now maintained by the Archaeology Department. The palace once served as the venue where Tipu Sultan met his ambassadors and guests. Built entirely of teak wood, it features elegant open corridors and traditional architectural charm.

I was very pleased to see how they are managing the garden. It has very huge and old trees adding the extra beauty to the palace. Coming to palace, the murals on the walls. are so charming and elegant with very fine artistic work. The real beauty lies on those walls. It has collection of swords, guns and clothes used by Tipu Sultan.

The place is good for people who want to explore history, nothing fancy or trendy that will attract people but its a calm place good for family to explore and it also have a huge ground like a park with good trees and you have to walk a while to reach the palace and check weather and it may be hot afternoon. I removed a star due to the inconvenience at ticket counter and not so clean chargable washroom

The Hazrat Tipu Sultan's Tomb, nestled in Srirangapatna near Mysore, is a remarkable historical site that pays homage to the legendary warrior and ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore. As you approach this serene sanctuary, you're greeted by a tranquil atmosphere that feels like a step back in time. The tomb, affectionately known as 'Gumbaz,' is surrounded by the lush gardens of Lalbagh, creating an oasis of calm amidst history.
I recently visited the tomb of Hazrat Tipu Sultan, and it left a rather poignant impression on me. It's located in Srirangapatna, a little outside Mysore, and the drive there gives you a sense of stepping back in time. When you arrive, the first thing you notice is the peaceful atmosphere. The tomb, or 'Gumbaz' as it's known, is set in a well-maintained garden called Lalbagh, which feels like a little oasis of calm. There are these lovely cypress trees surrounding the mausoleum, which adds to the serene vibe. The structure itself has a sort of understated elegance. It's built in the Persian style, with a noticeable dome and these black granite pillars supporting an open verandah. It's not overly ornate, but there's a beauty in its simplicity and the craftsmanship of the time. Apparently, the doors were once decorated with ivory, and the walls had tiger stripes (Tipu Sultan was known as the 'Tiger of Mysore'), though some of that has been lost over time, especially after the British took over. Inside, it's quite solemn. You see the graves of Tipu Sultan, his father Hyder Ali, and his mother Fakhr-Un-Nisa. They're covered with these respectful green and black cloths, and there are inscriptions in Persian. It makes you think about the people who rest there and the history they represent. What struck me most wasn't just the architecture, but the feeling of history lingering in the air. Knowing that this is where Tipu Sultan, a figure known for his resistance against the British, lies buried alongside his family, gives the place a certain weight. It's a reminder of a significant era and the people who shaped it. There were other tombs of relatives and soldiers in the surrounding area, which also tells a story. It felt like a place where you could connect with the past, in a quiet and reflective way. There's no entry fee, which is nice, though they do charge a small parking fee. It's the kind of place you can spend an hour or two in, just soaking in the atmosphere and perhaps reflecting on history. In a human way: * It's a peaceful and well-kept place, the gardens adding to the tranquility. * The architecture is elegant in its simplicity, with Persian influences. * Being the final resting place of Tipu Sultan and his family gives it a historical significance that you can feel. * It's a good spot for quiet reflection and a glimpse into the past. Would I recommend visiting? Yes, definitely, especially if you have an interest in history or just appreciate a calm and historically significant place. It's not just a tomb; it feels like a connection to a different time.

It’s a very beautiful place! The Dargah is peaceful and surrounded by trees, a park, and a mosque nearby. There’s also a separate prayer hall for women. You can spend a lot of time here enjoying the calm atmosphere. Horse riding and Monster bike rides are available too, and the Kaveri River flows close by. It’s a perfect spot to visit with family — a truly peaceful and refreshing place. 🌸

Where a Tiger Sleeps Forever – Tipu Sultan’s Tomb, Srirangapatna Just a few kilometers from Mysuru lies a place where history, courage, and silence meet — the Tomb of Tipu Sultan, often called the Gumbaz at Srirangapatna. 🕌🌿 As you walk through the gates, the air changes — quiet, respectful, and filled with the echo of a glorious past. This is where Tipu Sultan, famously known as the Tiger of Mysore, rests beside his father Hyder Ali and mother Fathima Fakhr-Un-Nisa. The moment you step inside, it feels like stepping into a chapter of India’s freedom struggle written long before independence. 🇮🇳 Built in 1784 by Tipu Sultan himself to honor his father, the Gumbaz later became his own resting place after he fell heroically in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War (1799) fighting the British at this very island — Srirangapatna. Architecturally, the tomb is breathtaking — an elegant blend of Islamic and Persian styles. The black granite pillars, ivory-colored dome, and beautifully carved arches stand proudly amidst lush gardens. Inside, the three graves are covered with rich silk cloths from Persia, bearing traditional tiger stripe motifs — a tribute to Tipu’s fearless spirit. 🐅 Standing here, surrounded by whispering trees and history that still feels alive, you can almost imagine the era — cannons firing, the courage of a ruler who refused to bow, and a legacy that still commands respect centuries later. Pro Tip: Visit early morning or around sunset to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Combine it with nearby sites like Daria Daulat Bagh (Tipu’s Summer Palace) and the Srirangapatna Fort for a full royal-history trail. The Tomb of Tipu Sultan isn’t just a monument — it’s a reminder that some kings don’t just rule lands; they rule hearts, long after they’re gone. 🕊️✨

Keep in mind this is a darga not a fancy place to visit, this place is calm and relaxing since its a darga you will see graves outside too but main will be at tomb where they will offer prayers, its a huge place with green trees and grassland to spend time on and nothing to explore, just visit offer prayer and come back. No entry fee , to give respect i am not showing the inside of tomb

A serene and historically significant place to visit in Srirangapatna. The Gumbaz houses the tombs of Tipu Sultan, his father Hyder Ali, and his mother Fakhr-Un-Nisa. The Indo-Islamic architecture with the tall dome, arches, and beautiful carvings is truly impressive. The surrounding garden is well maintained, giving a peaceful atmosphere for visitors to walk around. It’s not just a monument but a place that reflects the rich history of Mysore. The spot is easily accessible, and you can spend some quiet time admiring the architecture and legacy. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Mysore or Srirangapatna.

A hidden gem for automobile lovers – Payana Car Museum, Mysore 🚗✨ After exploring Srirangapatna, our next stop was the Payana Car Museum, conveniently located right along the main road — you can’t miss it thanks to its huge wheel-like structure on the top of the building, which looks fantastic and adds a vibrant touch to photos! The entry fee is ₹75 per person, and it’s absolutely worth it. The museum is very well-organized, clean, and offers a wonderful journey through the evolution of automobiles. The Payana Car Museum, located near Mysore on the Bengaluru–Mysuru expressway, is a delightful stop for anyone who appreciates classic automobiles and vintage engineering. From the moment you spot its striking tyre-shaped building, the experience promises something out of the ordinary. Inside, you’ll find a well-preserved collection of cars, bikes, jeeps and old carts — each one with its own story and era reflected in its design and details. What I liked most is how accessible the museum is: the entry fee is very reasonable, the parking is ample, and the layout is friendly for both car enthusiasts and families alike. The displays are neat, the exhibits clearly labeled, and the combination of artefacts makes for more than just a glance — it feels like a mini-journey through automotive history. On the flip side, if you’re expecting a large-scale high-tech exhibition, you might find the museum a bit modest in size and amenities . Overall though, if you’re in the region and have an hour or two to spare, the Payana Car Museum is a very worthwhile visit — a charming blend of nostalgia, craftsmanship and road-history.

I went in expecting a small collection, but what I found was a beautifully curated time capsule that takes you on a journey through the history of automobiles, craftsmanship, and nostalgia. From the moment you enter, you can feel the dedication and love poured into every inch of the museum. The staff are warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about cars — they make the experience so much richer by explaining the stories and technical details behind each vehicle. The collection itself is impressive: from vintage classics and rare models to motorbikes and memorabilia that capture the evolution of design and engineering over the decades. Every car is spotless and well-maintained, showing how much care goes into preserving these timeless beauties. The layout is very thoughtfully done — it’s not just rows of vehicles, but a well-planned journey through eras, with information panels and thematic displays that make it educational as well as enjoyable. The ambiance feels authentic, almost like stepping back into time, with the right lighting, vintage signs, and the aroma of old engines that only true enthusiasts will appreciate.

Every single car is maintained very nicely, practically sparkling as if they just rolled off the assembly line decades ago. It's clear that the staff and curators have a deep passion for these machines, and that commitment is evident in the polished chrome, pristine interiors, and the overall cleanliness of the exhibits. If you have an interest in automotive history, engineering, or just appreciate seeing things done right, I highly recommend a visit. The serene vibe here makes you want to visit again and again. ✨🌷
BIKASH — Google review
Brindavan Garden in Mysore is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Karnataka and is well known for its beautiful layout, musical fountain, and scenic beauty. The garden is located near the Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) Dam, and the view of the dam from the garden is truly delightful, especially during sunset when the sky reflects on the water, creating a stunning scene. The garden itself is beautifully designed with symmetrical lawns, colorful flower beds, and fountains spread across the area. The musical fountain show in the evening is the main highlight and draws a large crowd. The lights, music, and water display create a magical atmosphere that everyone enjoys, especially families and children. However, the cleanliness and maintenance of the garden are not up to the mark. Some areas are littered with plastic bottles and food wrappers, and the pathways need better care. The benches and lights in certain sections also look old and could use renovation. The authorities should focus more on maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, and overall management to preserve the beauty of this historic place. Crowd management is another area that needs improvement, as the garden becomes very crowded during weekends and holidays, making it difficult to enjoy peacefully. Despite these issues, the garden still remains a pleasant place to visit for its ambiance and scenic beauty. Overall, Brindavan Garden is a lovely tourist spot with great potential, but it definitely needs better maintenance and cleanliness to give visitors a more enjoyable experience. With a little more care from the management, it can once again become one of the most beautiful and well-kept gardens in India.

A Magical Evening at Brindavan Gardens! (5/5 Stars) Brindavan Gardens is an absolute must-visit when you are in Mysore. It truly deserves every one of its five stars! The sheer scale and meticulous symmetry of the terraced gardens are breathtaking. Walking through the pathways, lined with vibrant flowers and perfectly manicured hedges, felt incredibly calming and refreshing. The way the gardens are laid out, leading down to the reservoir, creates stunning panoramic views, especially at sunset. However, the real spectacle begins after dark: the Musical Fountain Show. The way the water dances in rhythm with the music and colored lights is pure magic—a genuinely captivating experience that draws the crowds. It is well-organized and a perfect culmination to the visit. It's clear that the entire complex is beautifully maintained, making the entire visit a clean and enjoyable experience. Tip: Get there an hour before the fountain show starts to secure a good viewing spot and enjoy the peaceful sunset views over the Cauvery River. It's a perfect spot for families, couples, or anyone seeking natural beauty and delightful entertainment. Highly, highly recommended!

Where Lights, Water, and Music Dance Together – Brindavan Gardens, Mysuru Just below the mighty Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) Dam, lies one of India’s most enchanting spots — the Brindavan Gardens. 🌿✨ It’s not just a garden; it’s an experience that blends nature, architecture, and art into a living melody. Built in the 1930s under the vision of Sir Mirza Ismail, the then Dewan of Mysore, these gardens were inspired by the Mughal-style terrace designs — symmetric lawns, colorful flowerbeds, water channels, and dancing fountains that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a royal dream. 👑🌺 Walking through Brindavan Gardens is pure magic — the gentle mist from the fountains, the reflection of the KRS Dam on the water, and the sound of laughter echoing through the soft evening air. As the sun sets, the entire place transforms — thousands of lights flicker on, and the musical fountain show begins, where water dances to the rhythm of music and colorful lights fill the night. 🎶💧 Couples, families, and travelers from all over India come here to witness that one unforgettable scene — water and light performing in harmony against the backdrop of the dam. The atmosphere feels festive yet peaceful, romantic yet serene. Pro Tip: Visit just before sunset to enjoy both the daylight beauty and the illuminated night view. Don’t miss the musical fountain show (6:30 PM – 7:30 PM) and the short boat ride — they’re worth every moment. Brindavan Gardens isn’t just about flowers and fountains — it’s about how art, water, and light can come together to create emotion. A timeless place where nature smiles, and Mysuru’s royal charm still blooms. 💫

There is an entry fee, and once inside, you can explore the beautifully maintained pathways and fountains. The main highlight is the musical fountain and light show, held between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM. Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is a haven for birds and other wildlife, spread across 6 islets on the Kaveri River. It's renowned for its diverse flora and fauna, making it the largest sanctuary in Karnataka. Named after the Hindu god Ranganathaswamy, this sanctuary offers guided boat tours along the river where visitors can spot crocodiles basking in the sun and discover secret spots.
Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is a true gem for nature lovers. The lush green landscape and serene lake, fringed by dense wild trees, create a breathtaking setting. It is home to countless seasonal birds, and witnessing them nesting or migrating in and out is a delight for any birdwatcher. Visited Balamuri Falls early in the morning and had a great experience. The falls are not very tall but spread wide over a check dam, creating a gentle, soothing cascade where you can walk or sit with your feet in the water. The surroundings are clean and green, with coconut trees and small snack stalls nearby. Best time to visit is between 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM to avoid crowds and enjoy the calm vibes. The water was clean, and the weather made it even better. Ideal for a short getaway or to just relax and unwind. ⚠️ Just be cautious on the slippery rocks and avoid peak hours or weekends if you prefer peace.

It is nice place to spend time with family and friends. Parking: Available Restroom: Available & Paid. Stalls: Food stalls available near fall. 2 to 3 hours could be spend in this place. Balmuri Falls, near Srirangapatna and about 25 km from Mysuru, is a serene spot on the Kaveri River, perfect for a relaxing day trip. Visitors enjoy wading in the shallow waters and capturing beautiful photos, though weekends can get crowded. Nearby attractions include Brindavan Gardens, Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, and Shivanasamudra Falls. The best time to visit is during the monsoon (June to September). Basic facilities like parking and food stalls are available, but carrying water and snacks is recommended. Overall, it’s a peaceful retreat for nature lovers and families.

Visited Balamuri Falls during a weekend and had a great experience. The falls are a check dam, creating a gentle, soothing cascade where you can walk or sit over the dam where the water flows. The place has snack stalls around with types of fish fry and prawns fry to try. One of the good places for a one day trip. Would recommend to avoid weekend for a better and peace atmosphere with less crowd.

🌊 Edamuri Falls Trip – A Day to Remember! ❤️ Yesterday’s trip to Edamuri Falls was truly unforgettable! It was a friends and family outing after so many years, and the joy we felt was beyond words. From the moment we entered the falls, laughter and excitement filled the air — everyone was just living in the moment, enjoying nature and each other’s company. We all joined hands to cook chicken biriyani and delicious chicken gravy, just like old times. Cooking together brought back so many beautiful memories — the fun, the teasing, the teamwork — everything felt so nostalgic! 😋🔥 After our grand meal, we relaxed by the water, shared stories, and later lit up a fire camp under the stars. The music, the jokes, the vibes — everything was perfect. It was one of those Sundays you wish would never end. Every single photo we clicked tells a story — of happiness, togetherness, and pure friendship. ❤️😊 Truly, a Sunday full of unforgettable memories! With lots of love❤️ Your Vj😉

Historical landmark
The Water Gate holds immense historical significance as the location where the British Army breached during their final assault, leading to the fall of Tipu Sultan. This iconic gate is a testament to a pivotal moment in Indian history, marking the end of an era. Despite the passage of time, the materials used in its construction have remained impressively strong, showcasing the enduring craftsmanship of the period. Standing before the Water Gate, one can sense the weight of history and the legacy of Tipu Sultan's resistance against British colonization. For those interested in history and architecture, this gate serves as a solemn reminder of the past, preserving the memory of a heroic figure and the events that shaped the region. A visit to this site offers a glimpse into the resilience and strength of both the structure and the stories it represents.
Hisham O — Google review
Reached Water Gate. This was one of the secret gates to Tipu Sultan's Fort. The British Army led by Col. Wellesley breached the Fort through this gate on the night of May 4th, 1799. Tipu fought till the end. You can see the exact spot where he was shot. The British put up a plaque, "At the northern end of this archway fell Tippu Sultan. May 4th 1799".

It is through Water Gate that britishers gained entry to Tippu Sultan' Fort.

Exploring the Water Gate and Secret Door of the fort was like stepping into a chapter of history. My solo visit offered a mix of intrigue, awe, and challenges that made it an unforgettable experience. The Good: Historical Intrigue: The concept of a water gate and secret door used in fortifications to evade enemies or secure supplies during sieges is fascinating. Standing in such a strategic location brought history to life. Architectural Marvel: The design of the gate and secret passage highlights the ingenuity of ancient builders. The craftsmanship, even after centuries, is remarkable. Scenic Surroundings: Many water gates are located near water bodies, adding to the beauty and serenity of the site. It’s a great spot for photography and quiet reflection. Adventure Factor: Navigating the secret door and exploring its passage felt like an adventure, making the visit exciting and unique. Connection to History: Learning about the fort's defensive mechanisms, its role in battles, and its historical significance added depth to the visit. The Challenges: Limited Information: There weren’t many signs or plaques explaining the historical significance of the water gate and secret door. This left me wanting a more detailed narrative. Accessibility Issues: Some areas, particularly the secret door, were difficult to access due to uneven steps, narrow passages, and poor lighting. Safety Concerns: Exploring alone in areas with slippery surfaces or unstable sections felt risky at times. Visitors should exercise caution. Poor Maintenance: Parts of the site appeared neglected, with graffiti and litter detracting from the historic atmosphere. Lack of Facilities: Like many historic sites, there were no restrooms or food options nearby, making planning essential. Suggestions for Future Visitors: Go with a Guide: Hiring a local guide or joining a historical tour can enrich your experience with stories and insights that aren’t readily available on-site. Wear Comfortable Shoes: The terrain can be challenging, so sturdy footwear is a must for safe exploration. Bring a Flashlight: If you’re exploring the secret door or tunnels, a flashlight will be handy, as lighting is often inadequate. Visit Early: Mornings are quieter and cooler, offering a more peaceful experience and better opportunities for photographs. Respect the Site: Avoid littering, and refrain from touching or climbing on fragile structures to help preserve the fort’s legacy. Final Thoughts: The Water Gate and Secret Door to the fort offer a captivating glimpse into the past, blending history with adventure. Despite a few challenges, the experience was rewarding and insightful. My solo visit left me marveling at the ingenuity of ancient fortifications and the stories they hold. This site is perfect for history buffs, photographers, and adventure seekers looking to connect with the past.

The siege lasted several weeks. On May 4, 1799, the British launched a full-scale assault on the city. Tipu Sultan fought bravely to defend his kingdom but was eventually overwhelmed. He was found dead near the Water Gate of the fort, reportedly betrayed by some of his own men. He died sword in hand, refusing to flee or surrender, earning respect even from his enemies. Open place, required maintenance
Amit G — Google review
One of the secret paths to the Mysore Palace was hidden beneath the Kaveri River and was filled with deadly crocodiles, making it nearly impossible for enemies to enter the fort. However, the British managed to gain access by turning a well-known and trusted person against Tipu Sultan, who revealed the entry route. Tipu Sultan fought his final battle bravely—he neither surrendered nor fled, choosing instead to fight till his last breath.

Ghat was good.. this was the second time.. we decided to visit there with family but unfortunately , it was closed because of water over flow. Before visiting any place., I prefer to check whether it is open or not but unfortunately no information was avail about it only. So I suggest not to visit this place during the monsoon as it might be close.

There are no changing rooms. need to go about 500meters where paid toilets are there(didn't check how they are) 3. Near by few cloth shops are there to buy towels, tops etc

Bird watching area
Wildlife park
A lovely place where one can spend time watching blue tailed Bee eaters, green bee eaters and many other birds. Please make sure you are seated in one place and avoid walking around continuously as this disturbs the birds. Try visiting early morning around 6:30-45 and settle down in one spot outside the fenced area. Do not enter the fenced area as you will put the nests in danger.
Angad A — Google review
Serene place amidst the wetlands and farms nearby. Ideal for birdwatchers and those looking for a break from city hustle and bustle. Spotted multiple bird species esp Blue tailed bee eater and Green bee eaters, along with spotbill duck , little blue kingfisher, Painted stork among others. People ought to treat this place better and not throw trash Note: The road to this place that deviates from the main road is narrow winding mud path, good for two wheelers, You need good experienced driver for carsz also you can't turn around until u reach the bank of the reserve adjacent to river
Ritesh R — Google review
Great place to observe the behaviour of these birds, especially their nests on the ground. The authorities have done a great job by protecting their nesting area and placing a watch tower, both essential to retain their habitat and watch them from a distance.

The place is on the banks of river kaveri. And this is a bee eater bird reserved place. This place is particularly made for photographers in an another way naturally. I have seen a many photographers who were visiting during the time. There are many species available here at one place makes them advantage. But make sure you have sufficient food and beverages for the day to keep continuous of photography. The villagers are very friendly in guiding us to the location. The forest man who is looking after was also friendly in nature. He was cleaning the reserved ground for birds since the make nest in ground.
