The National University Library of Kosovo "Pjetër Bogdani" is a unique and iconic landmark in Pristina, known for its unconventional brutalist architecture. Built in the 1980s, it features concrete blocks, a metal mesh net, and 73 small bubble domes. Despite its controversial appearance, the library stands as a symbol of knowledge and learning in the city.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the National Library of Kosovo "Pjetër Bogdani" in Pristina. The library's distinctive architecture, with its 99 domes and intricate metal lattice design, struck us as a fascinating blend of modernist and traditional Balkan influences. We were particularly interested in the American section, which offered a thoughtful and informative perspective on U.S. culture and history. The serene reading spaces and the library’s extensive collection made our visit both educational and memorable. For those planning to go, the library is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM; it is closed on Sundays. Admission is free, making it an excellent stop for anyone interested in architecture, literature, or cultural heritage.

Cannot recommend this architectural wonder and public library enough. I initially wasn't aware of the PR efforts around branding this the ugliest European building to create social media 'noise.' So I expected to see a simple, brutalistic boring building. The detail both in and out is truly remarkable though. Definitely one of the most architecturally detailed landmarks I've ever seen in the world. Was lucky enough to come across a library staff member who kindly took us on a detailed tour of the place and showed us around. He was super friendly and informative. Note: There are English reading books and war information in their dedicated 'American' section. If you wish to read particular books, you let the staff know and using a numerical system bring it up from underground (3 floors down). Very similar too some libraries in Paris, New York, London and Sydney. It's very efficient. OVERALL: Highly recommend and definitely worth taking the time to visit. It's free, smoke free and always open to the public.
Louise — Google review
The library is often named the ugliest building in the world but I beg to differ. This building is honestly has one of the coolest designs I came across throughout my trip. There's no tickets or extra fee to go inside to visit. The library also feels smaller than I thought once inside, the interior is pretty beautiful too. Only a small amount of rooms are open to the public, took me around 10-15 mins to explore the entire building.
Yuhng Y — Google review
It is certainly an awesome architecture, and it’s the only place worth visiting in centre Pristina. Beside it, there is a nice interesting abandoned cathedral.
Connie W — Google review
The library is a piece of architectural art! You can go in it and look around, but if you want to use any of their books or resources, you have to have a membership. There are two study rooms that are open to the public - one on the main floor and one on the second floor. They are both silent study areas. The one on the bottom floor is set up like a testing center (with no phone allowed signs) while the one on the second floor is set up more like a study room.
Prishtinë M — Google review
Very interesting design of the library with free entrance. However nothing much inside to see but still worth seeing the outer architecture.
CC F — Google review
Despite being voted as the ugliest building in the world, i think that only shows the lack of education and knowledge people know about the place. The white domes are meant to represent the Plis which is culturally worn by Albanian men especially during the war with the Serbs during the period of Yugoslavia. Amazing building which has photos and exhibitions on how America helped Kosovo against the Serbs and how Kosovo went through such struggle in it's genocide.
Adam H — Google review
Closed on Saturdays and Sundays, which makes no sense for visitors. We could only see the exterior, which is an unusual kind of ugliness — architecturally interesting, but not exactly pretty.

The Newborn Monument in Pristina, Kosovo is a contemporary landmark that commemorates the region's declaration of independence from Serbia in 2008. This typographic sculpture holds great symbolism and its appearance changes annually on the anniversary of Kosovo's independence. The monument stands against the backdrop of the Palace of Youth and Sports, showcasing youthful energy at the heart of Europe's newest nation.
Great cultural monument which (beyond its obvious 'insta-worthy' attractiveness) carries so much historical value. Dynamic in nature, the letters are decorated differently every year. This pays tribute to the ongoing commitment of this area to change, initiative, creativity and celebration of the present times. I absolutely love what it stands for and felt very hopeful for this incredible city and its people, just being here. Free to visit, not overly popular, so easy to take photos of and located right near the sports stadium.
Louise — Google review
Easy to find, was there on workers day so it was a holiday and busy, every one wanted to get there pictures in front of it. Interesting how they keep repainting it so you don't know what to expect when you show...
Kevin P — Google review
A bold and ever-evolving symbol of Kosovo’s spirit! The Newborn Monument isn’t just a photogenic landmark - harder to take selfies because of the wide dimension — it’s a canvas for political, cultural, and social expression. Unveiled on the day Kosovo declared independence (Feb 17, 2008), it changes design each year, reflecting the country’s journey. Easy to find near the Palace of Youth and Sports, and well worth a visit to feel the pulse of modern Kosovo.
Sa S — Google review
The Newborn Monument was one of my favorite stops in Prishtina. It’s amazing how it changes every year with a new design and message—each one feels meaningful and full of creativity. The whole area has a really positive vibe, and it’s a great spot to take photos and just take in the atmosphere of the city. If you’re in Prishtina, you definitely shouldn’t miss it!
Jack F — Google review
After the visit and listening to local friends, I can sort of understand why this is called Kosovo's most recognized international symbol. Would suggest everyone to checking in on annual bassist to see what new ideas are reflected here.

Great symbolic monument for Kosovo as a country. I heard different times different design .

It’s interesting to see the new ‘Newborn’ monument in Pristina a powerful symbol that continues to evolve with time and reflect current sentiments. It really invites reflection and conversation.

Exactly at the day we went, there was a truck blocking the monument. Probably working in some event at the side venue. Still this place is too remember that Kosovo is a country. A young one

Churches & Cathedrals
The Cathedral of Saint Mother Teresa, inaugurated in 2010, is an elegant Romanesque-style cathedral dedicated to St. Teresa of Calcutta. Although consecrated in 2017, it is still under construction. This impressive building is Pristina's largest Roman Catholic place of worship and features high ceilings and vast windows that allow natural light to illuminate the interior.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Cathedral of Saint Mother Teresa in Pristina, Kosovo. The cathedral's striking architecture, blending modern design with traditional Romanesque elements, immediately captured our attention. Inside, the serene atmosphere and beautiful stained glass windows created a peaceful space for reflection. We were particularly impressed by the towering bell tower, which offers panoramic views of the city—a feature that adds to the cathedral's unique charm. The cathedral is open to visitors daily: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Admission is free, making it an accessible destination for anyone interested in architecture, culture, or spiritual contemplation.
Kirk B — Google review
A very modern and 'clean' church, not cluttered with a lot of statues. The windows and a few statues around the altar draw the main focus of your attention. We were here midweek so missed English Mass on a Sunday, but enjoyed a quiet prayerful time saying the Rosary. It's easy to miss, but you can take the lift up to the top of the bell tower for €2, which is well worth it. Views are spectacular of the Kosovo national library in particular and other sights near and far.
Idris E — Google review
Beautiful cathedral dedicated to the most beautiful soul. Pay 2eur to take a lift up the bell tower. Great views.
Paul T — Google review
A striking and modern cathedral dedicated to one of the most beloved humanitarian figures. The architecture is elegant, with tall bell towers and beautiful stained-glass windows, including one of Mother Teresa with the Pope. The peaceful interior offers a quiet place for reflection in the heart of the city. Entry is free, and it’s worth a short visit whether for spiritual or cultural interest.
Sa S — Google review
It was a beautiful cathedral with great glass details. Going up to the tower part was 2 euros per person. A fee that can be given to go up to a tower where you can see the entire Pristina.
Merve Ö — Google review
Inside the cathedral is excellent. Very clean and the stained glass windows are beautiful. The elevator ride up to the viewing area costs a few euros per person. The elevator was slow the entire way up which was annoying when waiting for groups of people to enter and send the elevator back down again, leading to increased wait times. The elevator is cheap and wobbly for such a tall building (Schindler 3300, really??). The views at the top are beautiful, but the elevator is slow, and you often have to wait ages to wait for groups of people to enter/exit at the bottom and top.
Zef — Google review
I loved the church, especially on a sunny day it shines with the simple white interior and the beautiful colorful windows that reflect the light everywhere. For 2€ you can take the elevator up and have a pretty good view over the city. Only sad thing is how dirty it is up there in a sense of wall paintings, so pls don’t put sth on the walls.
Amelie P — Google review
This is a beautiful, simple, uncluttered cathedral of white stone. Inside is spacious and airy, welcoming to sit and breathe. The whole ambience is inviting. Worth a visit.

History Museums
The Kosovo Museum, established in 1949 and housed in a historic 1889 villa, is a significant cultural institution in Pristina. The museum showcases archaeological artifacts and offers insights into the region's Ottoman and Yugoslavian history. Visitors can explore the outdoor park area surrounding the ochre-painted villa, adding to the overall experience. One of its notable features is the 'imperial mosque,' originally built on the orders of Mehmed the Conqueror around 1461.
Small museum but worth a visit, ground floor was full of antiquity's from various eras and top floor was dedicated to the Kosovo war with a lot of weapons and photographs and other artifacts from the struggle for independence
Dai M — Google review
I was excited to visit but what shocked that it actually is more like an abandoned Museum! No proper cooling system in this summer heat and all what’s presented isn’t that interesting especially in the first floor. No proper presentation of the history of the country especially during Ottoman Empire days and so. I wouldn’t recommend visiting it however it’s beside three of beautiful mosques so you might as well pass by it.
إسراء — Google review
The ancient and modern history of Kosovo is sufficiently understood. But unfortunately there is not enough information about the Ottoman Empire period. Only the swords of the period are exhibited.
Melih A — Google review
A small local museum with two exhibitions, archeology and history. Entrance is free, a small donation is expected. Exhibitions are small, while the archeologic one has some descriptions, the historic one lacks in entirely. No background, no storytelling, nothing. The historic exhibition is basically a random collection of old weapons ans uniforms. The museum could be nice if curated, but in its current state it's a 10min walk-in and out. Not recommended.
Thomas B — Google review
Wrong location in Google Maps. It’s 100 meters towards the main road. Small museum. First floor is archaeological. Some nice Neolithic items and the stupendous little women in a skirt. The second floor is recent war stuff.
Jeremy K — Google review
Many have looted art out of Kosovo, so the displays here remain sparse. Nevertheless, the grounds are well kept by the staff, and the art that is here tell an interesting story. Admission is free, and the museum is centrally located. Well worth a visit.

Visitors to the Museum of Kosovo in Pristina, I recommend this place, where you can discover the history of Kosovo through weapons of various types used by Albanian warriors warriors during the First World War the Second World War and war of independence . and archeological finds from the Roman and Byzantine eras, such as what I saw a three glass oil lamps 2nd-4th A.D find it in site of (Vendenis ) was an ancient town in Dardania during the Roman period, and the Statio Vindenis is one of the stations identified. When in Kosovo, a visit to the Ethnographic Museum - Muzeu Etnologjik is a must. Situated in the heart of the Bazaar area of Pristina, this museum is housed in a charming traditional residence and showcases an array of artifacts reflecting Kosovar life. The exhibits include traditional clothing, textiles, furniture, and various other items found in typical Kosovar households.
Very quick visit only about 5mins to walk through the whole house. Nothing too interesting because there are no plaques to read. However a cool free activity to see how life was back then.

An interesting place for an ancient cultural way of life, it takes less than 15 minutes to see everything. It is worth visiting if you have time, otherwise if you couldn't visit it nothing to regret.

Free entrance but still very interesting place. The curator is professional and kind. Explained well about the overall history there. Max. 15 min taking course. I recommend!

I was recently in this museum and it was a really great and nice experience, thanks for showing us and explaining us everything, really cool visit, worth visiting this museum!!

Currently only one of the buildings is open - the rest are still being restored - but I enjoyed the visit! The curator is extremely informative, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the restoration project and led our tour of the house in extremely clear English. Its a short visit for sure, but enjoyable.

Soma Book Station is a unique and creative venue in Pristina, offering a blend of art gallery, cafe, bar, and library. The restaurant has gained popularity for its traditional dishes like stuffed peppers with cheese and thyme, grilled meats, and mezze platters featuring regional dips such as ajvar and tarator.
Fantastic place! Not easy to find but google maps will help with that. Large premises with a centrally located bare. There is also a large garden. During the week evening lots of guests and hence service was a bit delayed. There is everything you need for a nice evening. Beer from the taps, cocktails, food, good music. There are books on the shelves so that there is also some seriousness. Beer prices very reasonable. The staff can be seen to be trying very hard. Interior design in a mixed and varied style. From pipes under the roof, brick walls and extensive bookshelves. Free WiFi available.

If you want quick service, skip this place. Like avoid it at all costs. If you want a beautiful space with good food, go, but plan for a long time there. My friend and I walked in. Sit wherever you want inside or out. We sat at the bar. Despite many workers, we had to flag down several servers to get anything and they acted annoyed when we did. 25 minute wait to be acknowledged. 30 minute wait to get our order and so on. The food was good and comes in huge portions. The beets and cold potatoes are starters but come out on big plates. My friend loved his sando and my meatballs were so good! Their beer list is limited and their lemonade is sour! The staff itself is beautiful and very clean.
Austin G — Google review
We found this place by accident. It's hidden away behind some tall hedges. There is a nice atmosphere and the garden was lit well with garden lights. We sat outside as it was warm but inside looks great too. We had cocktails which were delicious and only 5 euro.
Ian J — Google review
Nice place and delicious food… especially the ambiance, decoration, and books are amazing. The garden is also a pleasant spot to spend time. However, it can be hard to find a table, especially in the evening. Prices are slightly higher than other places, but still reasonable. The service is a bit slow.
Öykü B — Google review
Everything is tasty and good, but beware - the hummus on the menu it says that it comes with rye bread. Instead its served with white bread. Its good but not rye - so less healthy and much higher in sugar as its white flour so an issue if someone has diabetes for example or simply chooses a healthier lifestyle. However I informed the waiter who took the feedback on board very positively which I am glad that this establishment seems to be pro-active and have well trained employees. Overall, incredible interior design, lovely outside sitting area. Would recommend.

We were a group of six and ordered quite a lot – beers, margaritas, whiskey sour, vodka sour, fried cheese, shrimp papardelle, bolognese, and a spinach pie roll. You can see the full list in the receipt attached. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful – easily one of the trendiest spots in Pristina. That said, many items on the menu were unavailable, which was a letdown. We all ended up having pasta due to the limited options. Still, the drinks and appetizers we managed to get were delicious, and the overall vibe makes it worth a visit.

Nature & Parks
Gërmia Park is a vast nature reserve located on the outskirts of Pristina. The park boasts sprawling pine forests, multi-purpose trails for walking and hiking, and a seasonal swimming pool. Its undulating hiking paths provide varying levels of difficulty for hikers to experience the beauty of the park's foliage, especially during autumn when it turns into an exquisite backdrop. However, the park has limited shaded areas from weather elements and few toilets and trash bins scattered across its expanse.
Very nice place, we were 2 days there having breakfast. The stuff is also extremely friendly.
Imelda G — Google review
Well maintained, clean and spacious, a perfect place for hot summer days and picnics 🧺, walks and mountain trails 🚵‍♀️ 1€ enterance/parking fee.
Anamarija P — Google review
This is an amazing place and very close to the city centre. You pay €1 to take your van in and then you can just park in the deep of the forest. I was not disturbed and had a great night sleep. Plus a great place to walk my dogs in the morning. There are some roaming dogs, but they didn’t really bother us.
Maria B — Google review
It's the second place you must absolutely not miss in Pristine (the other one is the Reporting House). It is gorgeous in autumn. If you like trekking you can prepare yourself for a 2 hour climb through the hill but if you are a light walker you can have a 30 minute walk and get some coffe or food at Villa Germia before you go back to your vehicle.
Eda — Google review
A decent park but not so much to do. There are many other parks in Europe that offer so much other than green space. Also, their public swimming pool is closed in the summer which is the ideal season for it.
Husain B — Google review
Great place, I love to have a run in the park and then go for a swim in the pool!
Branimir T — Google review
Very peaceful and clean park. There are tons of mosquitos in the summer be careful. Don’t go this park if you dont have vehicle or bicycle. It takes 30+ minutes minimum to center of the park while walking. There 3 different roads. One for cars, one for bicycles one for hiking. Hiking road is always shady which is good. You can rent a bicycle or scooter by 1 € per hour. And also there is swimming pool, basketball-tennis court at the beginning of the park you can go there. If you dont have swim suits or towels; they sell.
Recep T — Google review
A wonderfully maintained park with kilometers of walking and hiking trails for all levels. The park trails are paved and relatively flat, while the hiking trails provide undulating gradations for a good hiking experience. The foliage just starting turning while I was here, and they painted a beautiful backdrop. It was a thoroughly enjoyable hike even in a light rain.

Restaurant
Liburnia, established in 1992, is a well-decorated restaurant located in Pristina, Kosovo. It is popular among locals and tourists for its warm ambiance and good value for money. The menu offers traditional local stews, grilled meats, international dishes like pizza, and the famous chicken rice with sweet chili.
Liburnia is the kind of place that makes you feel at home the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is warm and rustic, with a cozy, welcoming charm that perfectly matches the heartiness of the food. The menu features traditional dishes full of rich, authentic flavors. The grilled meats were perfectly cooked, the vegetables fresh, and the bread—still warm from the oven—was absolutely delicious. Every plate felt thoughtfully prepared and generously portioned. The staff were kind, attentive, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. It’s clear they care deeply about both the food and the guests. Whether you’re visiting Pristina or live nearby, Liburnia is a place you’ll want to come back to. Best food experience in Prishtina. The servers are positive and nice. The food rations are pretty big and the food itself is amazing. We tried steak, suxhuk and qofte and everything was cooked to perfection. The place itself is an albanian wonder, with many references to village life. There is a smoking area, where you can also eat, and there is a big cozy space inside. We arrived at 5, so there were a lot of free tables, but for a later time it is best to make a reservation as it can get very busy.

This place is one of the oldest restaurants in Prishtina and it has kept its unique interior and high-quality food since the beginning. I loved the atmosphere, the service was very good and the food incredible. It is a bit more expensive than other places, but worth to try it.
Gentinë V — Google review
One of the most beautiful places in the city! The food ranges between exceptional to plain vanilla depending on your choice but the Kosovo specialties were great! The only down side is that you can’t book in advance on their website and the service is quite bad! Perhaps because of the lack of English ( even though the menu is fully translated) but it feels rude and without interest for the foreigners!
Cipriano C — Google review
The food was really excellent and also very reasonably priced. I’d especially like to highlight the service – the staff were very friendly, attentive, and child-friendly. Even without a reservation, we got a table without any problems. At the end, we were even offered a complimentary coffee. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable visit – highly recommended!
Andrei R — Google review
We were a group of six and ordered a wide range of dishes: Kosovo-style meat medallions, Tavë Kosi (lamb with yogurt, Elbasan-style), meatballs with sour cream, baked mushrooms with cheese, grilled peppers, and a local salad with Sharri cheese. We also had local beer and house wine. Unfortunately, almost every dish came covered with the same melted cheese, which made everything taste too similar. If the staff had mentioned this, we would have made different choices. The Tavë Kosi was the highlight – it was our first time trying it, and we truly enjoyed it. The atmosphere is extremely authentic – maybe even too much so. While it adds to the character of the place, it also extends to the restrooms, which didn’t feel very hygienic. What really brought the experience down was the service. The waiters were quite rude and unhelpful when we asked for guidance or recommendations. For a restaurant with such a reputation, the hospitality was disappointing. If you’re coming with a large group, definitely make a reservation in advance.

Cathedral
Located beyond the unattractive library, one will come across the abandoned Christ the Saviour Orthodox Cathedral. Construction of this religious building was halted during the Kosovo war, resulting in its unfinished and deserted state. It is advisable to acquaint oneself with the history of this dilapidated church before passing by, as it enhances understanding of its current condition. Despite its lack of maintenance at present, it remains a remarkable structure that commands admiration from all perspectives.
An interesting cathedral that is left unfinished due to the war. I witnessed no stray dogs and was able to enjoy my time. If you want to avoid any dogs visit during the daytime when it's rush hour at around 10-11am. Managed to get some beautiful photos with them and the history of the buildings again in Pristina tell a story that you can only appreciate.

A Serbian Orthodox Church that was left unfinished due to the Kosovo War. It's located just beside the National Library, but the area around it is not maintained and filled with weeds. Nevertheless the church looks impressive when viewed from afar, and the unfinished look it has adds a special feel to it. Other reviews commented there were aggressive stray dogs around the area but I didn't encounter any while I was around. Maybe I'm lucky, but would advise others who are planning to visit to be cautious.

Beautiful building and made even more impressive with the surrounding snow. But ..... I myself and my children were attacked by the stray dogs. My children ran to safety but as I was defending them I was badly bitten on my leg by one of the largest dogs. The experience was terrifying. I have required hospital treatment and 3 stiches in my would. Please beware and do not attempt to close if the dogs are in sight

What a sight. A Serbian Orthodox Church left unfinished due to the war in Kosovo in the late 90s. It adds an eerie touch to the surroundings and it honestly, despite not being finished, a beautiful building.
Amine A — Google review
The church looks interesting, and is a great place to photograph, but... The stray dogs, beware of the stray dogs! Two of the dogs were running at us, my friend started running away, but I stood firm, shielded my legs with my backpack, and loudly shouted at them. One of the dogs ran away, but the other... BIT INTO MY BACKPACK. If I wasn't holding it, it would have definitely bitten either me or my friend. It's a pity, I really wanted to see this place closer. A friendly local told me that it's well known that the strays there are dangerous.

Photo worthy Cathedral. But as mentioned by many, beware of the dogs. Just stay off the grass, and you will be fine.
Menno T — Google review
Construction of the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral began in 1995 during the Yugoslav period, but was halted and left unfinished during the 1998 Kosovo conflict. I feel sad to see as if its presence symbolises the complex history of Kosovo and its ethnic composition. # Kosovo

It’s worth reading up on some of the history of this derelict church before you pass by - it helps appreciate what’s happening a lot more. For something which was never finished it’s got quite some story to tell and while the area appears not to be getting maintained currently it’s a brilliant landmark to admire, whatever your opinion. A must see I believe when in the city.

Historical landmark
The Prishtina Clock Tower, standing at an impressive 26 meters, is a historical gem nestled in the heart of Kosovo's capital. Erected in the 19th century by Jasar Pasha, this iconic structure played a vital role during the Ottoman Empire, signaling prayer times and helping local merchants manage their working hours. Positioned conveniently opposite the Fatih Mosque, it remains a functional timepiece for locals rather than just a tourist attraction.
Built in the late 19th century, the Clock Tower in Pristina stands as a testament to the city's rich history. Constructed during the Ottoman Empire rule, this 26-meter high hexagonal tower played a vital role in regulating daily life for citizens. Not only did it signal the five daily prayers, but it also synchronized the working hours of shop owners. A fascinating blend of sandstone and bricks, the Clock Tower is a must-visit for anyone interested in Pristina's historical and cultural heritage.

Yes it's a historic landmark, but you can't climb it. If you want a great view of Prishtina head to the Mother Teresa Cathedral instead. You can go up the bell tower in a lift for just €2 and the views are spectacular.

Located near Pristina's Government and OSCE headquarters, it is a popular meeting place for expats living in the capital city.
Wish I lived in Pristina just so I could visit the sweet cat they have at this cafe daily. Drinks were great, we didn’t try the food. Vibes were good, definitely for a younger crowd. Good place to study/get work done or meet with friends. Staff were all friendly and kind. Will absolutely be back!

They only have a couple of vegan options (the burger, fries) but at €3 I’m not complaining! Wine was also €3 a glass. Very chilled out vibe. I could stay here for hours. I wish people didn’t smoke in the garden though as I would’ve liked to sit out there.

I hesitated to write this review because I don't want to spread negativity, but I feel a responsibility to future visitors of this cafe. On my first visit everything was great the cafe itself is quite cool, I ordered a few coffees and settled in to do some work on my laptop. The next morning, I followed the same routine. But this time an older woman likely the manager or possibly the owner abruptly approached me, instructing me to move to an inside room for lunch service. Note that there were 2-3 other people also on their laptops who weren't given the same directive. This was despite the fact that the cafe was nearly empty, as you can see in the attached image. For me the issue wasn't what she said, but how she said it. I've traveled to over 45 countries and visited hundreds of cafes worldwide, and I've never been approached so rudely. It felt like she was singling me out while expecting me to read her mind To be clear, this isn't about financial concerns. I tipped the baristas generously, far exceeding the price of the coffee itself. I don't mind paying more; it's the principle of treating customers with respect that matters to me. I found out I'm not the only one who felt this way; another person at a nearby cafe that I met this week had a similar, unwelcoming experience at Dit’ e Nat’ with this specific lady. I do want to note that the rest of the staff are AWESOME, they have a great group of baristas. It’s sad that one person is jeopardizing the reputation of the cafe.

Nestled in a serene residential area, Renaissance Restaurant stands out as a culinary gem in Pristina. A very lovely restaurant. With a very cosy atmosphere. We were very happy with our choice and we enjoyed a lot our dinner . The Chef knows his food and amount of serving for the amount of people that are dining. It's worth mentioning that the chicken was cooked to perfection, because there's always problematic to cook it and not all reach this good, tasty ,well marinated and moist point. That's why I don't prefer chicken in restaurants, but herewas very well done. The calf was very soft, moist, very well cooked . The appetizers are really delicious and the fresh salad was super tasty, with very fresh products that made the difference. We will come back for sure. Thank you for the lovely night
Tringa A — Google review
One of our best dining experiences in Pristina was at Renaissance. Inside a stone building using reclaimed pavement, the restaurant is run by the owner's sons. The space itself is beautiful with a second-floor loft and an open kitchen. The experience is one set price of 25 Euros paid in cash. Once seated, they bring food and unlimited wine to your table. The wine is house wine and there's a red and white. I went with white. It's a little sour, but not bad. The food comes out in waves perfectly timed. The starters are mushrooms, dips, bread, and olives. Next is a salad and then a plate of chicken kebabs. A small plate of dessert of bananas and a fried dough ball ends the experience. Overall, we loved our long dinner here. The owners are passionate and built a cozy place.

Atmosphere was really good. Service is excellent. Fix menu fix price for 2 people 50 Euros . Main dishes chicken and meat together only the sauce was too salty for my taste
Recep A — Google review
What a great place! Family owned, feels like home. Reservation recommended since it’s rather popular. 20 euros per person for full experience: 0,5 liters of white and red wines, small plates/appetizers, salad to share, main dish (vegetarian available), and dessert 🍮. Pros: - pleasant atmosphere - friendly and professional staff; speak English - price - small plates and salad (favorites) Needs improvement: - provide better quality wine; raise the price or reduce the portion if needed. The current option is subpar and tastes like chemicals. - add side of vegetables to the meat dish. Eating meat alone may not be everyone’s favorite. - introduce new desserts and rotate periodically. For example, serve different desserts on different days or just have more than one option at any given day. Genuinely like the place and will be back again!

This is a symbol of the gratitude the country holds towards the U.S. President Clinton, who contributed significantly to the independence of Kosovo. Located in a busy area of the city and on a popular intersection of road, it’s hard to recommend this as a place to relax, but there are some spots to sit. Nothing overly special other than the significant is has in terms of the cities history and worth passing by given it’s in the centre.

Went here for dinner while staying nearby, it was recommended by the person who owns the place I'm staying. It was lovely food, I had the chicken and vegetables in a clay pot and it was really flavourful. It came with some nice bread and I ordered a glass of red wine. Altogether I paid with a 10 Euro note and that included a tip. They brought out a cognac and mousse for dessert, which was a lovely and unexpected bonus! It isn't something I'd normally drink but the congnac paired really well with the mousse, which was an unexpected bonus. I'd definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a restaurant. The place is now smoke free and has a lovely atmosphere.

It won't be to everyone's taste as there is no menu and you take what you are given, but the food is delicious and a true flavour of the region. The Sarma in particular was delicious (grape leaves stuffed with meat), but the Mantia (veal dumplings) and Elbesan tave me mishi vici (lamb in eggs and yoghurt) were good too. The beetroot in the salad was so fresh and tasty and the breads and dips nice too. Without wine it would have been €18 per person, but the wine does increase the bill significantly. All in a great experience and thanks to the staff and the local shopkeeper who recommended it!

The food is decent, however, be prepared for the waiter to bring you dishes you didn’t even order just to charge you more. They don’t have a menu in the restaurant. We ordered three dishes, but the waiter brought something completely different — and even five dishes in total. They don’t speak English, and it’s very likely this is their way of making extra money. Tourists, BEWARE!

During our day trip to Pristina, we stopped for lunch at a charming restaurant located a bit outside the city center, nestled in a residential area. There is no menu at this establishment, so be sure to communicate your likes and dislikes to the server. We enjoyed a lovely red wine, along with some dips, a salad, and three meat dishes. All the food was delicious, although it would have been nice to have some rice to accompany the sauce.

Tiffany serves local dishes from the Balkans. There is no set menu, but rather whatever the chefs have available at the time. Accordingly, there are no exact prices. The food was delicious and varied. The team was polite, but not particularly warm towards me. I was able to pay by credit card. You should plan on spending 20 euros per person including drinks.

Enjoyed an incredibly memorable meal here - they were fully booked but found some space for me, and fed me like a local. Everything was fresh and homemade, but most importantly it was delicious. The host was friendly and honestly it was my highlight of Pristina.

At the beginning, we sat at the table and asked for a menu, but the waiter told me there was no menu and that he would bring us food of his own choice. Then he left immediately. When I went to ask about the prices, I found out he wanted to charge me 40 euros, and most of the food he chose was just salads. We waited for the food for more than 30 minutes before it arrived, and the water also came late. Honestly, I was expecting a better experience than this, but the taste of the kofta was good.

Good food, nice staff, and a great environment. It's a peaceful place. We ordered different types of foods and baklava. My favorite dish is tave kosi.

Home Restaurant, located in Prishtina and highly regarded by Tripadvisor, offers a diverse range of world cuisine, including steaks and seafood. Renowned for their delectable dishes, Home Restaurant serves generous portions and boasts an impressive wine selection. Patrons can indulge in mouthwatering options like the chicken and mushroom risotto or the flavorful feta salad. To enhance the dining experience, a cozy atmosphere is created with a small stove emitting a warm fire.
Home is not just any restaurant....this place has an atmosphere! The detail to the decor to represent Albania culture and Kosovo is unique. The food was prompt and delicious! The pita bread with hummus appetizer is the best pita we have ever had(and my husband and I have been to 85 countries) We ordered 2 different types of chicken kabobs that were delicious and large portions for the $:) Our server ended up introducing himself as the owner of this family run business....he gave us free rakije drinks after our meal and spent time talking to us about the history of his life and this country. We loved the hospitality, the generosity, the ambience, the food and the authentic experience! We would have eaten here every night if we were in Pristina, Kosovo. It's a must! No need to try anything else first!!! Set the bar here☺️

Great place, great atmosphere and amazing service. We loved the food and really good quality for the price. We tried many dishes but the aubergines and the Moroccan burger was a blast. The bartender was really kind and treated us like family. You must go!

Home restaurant has delicious food in gigantic portions, as well as a great wine selection (by the bottle) - I had the risotto with chicken and mushrooms, and I took it to go and had it two more times! The risotto was very very good, and I ate it straight out of the fridge as a leftover. I also had the feta salad, which was delicious but too big to finish. Our waitperson brought us some complementary homemade rum with the check (Rakija), and it was delicious. There was a small stove in the dining room with a fire going, so cozy! I have not been here for dinner, but it is an excellent lunch option for sure!

To put it in simple words; awful taste. 1) the location is superb 2) the decoration is very nice 3) the menu should serve as a red flag as they have no special cuisine but a very large variety from Lebanese, Turkish, Indian, British, Italian, Mexican, and Moroccan kitchens to name a few. 4) the vegetables Tempura tasted as bad as it looked. 5) the pasta was horribly dry with no sauce, saturated with cooking oil instead and with no Parmesan cheese. 6) nothing tastes authentic or remotely edible here. 7) kudos to the staff who tried to solve the chef failures, but still the food was horrible despite being edible after the modifications

Overall rating - 9/10 Incredible quality for a restaurant in Prishtina. Prices are average. The music is so good. The menu has limited kinds of meal. I tasted chicken and it was really delicious. Just car park area is so limited in neighborhood. WC is clean but you need to wait for the queue.

Ordered a vodka sour and we saw the bartender dilute it with soda water that should absolutely not be in the drink. Unacceptable behavior, think they can get away with anything just because we are tourists. Do not go here.

Taverna Tirona a cool place to get out and have a beer or two. Location is very good, but not in the prime streets of Pristina. Honestly not really impressed by the kitchen and service. Don't expect much from kitchen but simple dishes of a pub. Tidiness around the bar and kitchen access was an issue, a bit chaotic and not very clean. However good place to have a beer. Enjoy!

Baba Ganoush Meze is a vegetarian restaurant located in the heart of Pristina, offering a refreshing alternative to the city's meat-centric dining scene. The menu features a variety of flavorful appetizers, including the signature mezze platter dip, beetroot chutney, and roasted carrot mash with peppers, garlic, and sunflower seeds. In addition to Middle Eastern dishes, Baba Ganoush also offers local delicacies such as feta and walnut pate.
One of the best vegetarian wraps we’ve ever had – absolutely delicious! Even my meat-loving husband was impressed and kept talking about it afterward. We were so ready to come back the next day, but luckily we asked – they’re closed on Sundays. So we went for another wrap on Saturday instead… oh man, we were super full but super happy! The waiter was incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome. A fantastic experience from start to finish – we’ll definitely be back when we are back in Kosovo!

I’ve ordered the roasted carrot dip small it’s served with grilled pita - so amazing it’s a must try. I also ordered the Buddha burger. It really is a burger with delicious lentil patties and dripping with delicious sweet tahini pomegranate dressing. The two really complement each other and super filling. For a total of less than 6 euros. I’ve taken several pics of the burger so you can see how hearty it is. Must try

First proper vegetarian restaurant we’ve found in three weeks between the Croatian islands, Skopje, Peja and Prizren in Kosovo and Cetinje, Kotor and Kolasin in Montenegro. We had the Buddha burger, Buddha bowl and Patatas Bravas, made with fresh sliced potatoes. First time I’ve had them like that, and I am a papas / patatas bravas afficionado. Delicious food! Friendly and prompt service. Relaxed vibe with nice music playing. Great find!

We were very happy to have found this beautiful place. We enjoyed it so much that we ate there two days in a row. The food itself is remarkable: all veggie, lots of vegan options and everything tasted so fresh and well rounded. We especially enjoyed the cigara burek and the zesty wrap, but everything was incredible. What also really added to the anyways cozy atmosphere was a friendly cat named Party. He was strolling around the restaurant, greeting us at the entrance and enjoyed the customers’ petting. We will definitely be back to this place whenever we are in Prishtinë!

Come here once and be prepared to go back! A bit difficult to find since it’s hidden in a little, narrow street behind higher buildings, but when you find it the atmosphere of the place brings you immediately in another dimension compared to the busy streets around. The place is super nice and calm, with lovely vintage decorations inside. The menu has many options for vegan and vegetarian, all of them look great. I had a vegan burger that was absolutely delicious. Also quite big portion, I was satisfied (but I could have had more since it was so good!). I would definitely go back many times if I would live in Pristina!

Gazimestan Monument is a significant memorial complex located near Pristina, commemorating the Battle of Kosovo in 1389. The monument, standing at 23 meters tall, honors the fallen Serbian soldiers and civilians from the battle. It holds historical importance as it marks a crucial event in Kosovo's war years. Visitors can explore this landmark to gain insights into the country's history.
Memorial site and monument commemorating the battle of Kosovo that occured on Vidovdan (June 28th 1389). The monument is dedicated to the Serbian Prince Lazar and Serbian army in coalition with other Christian armies defending against invading Ottomans. Even though Serbian army defeated Ottomans and sultan Murad was killed, the battle resulted in depletion of available Serbian manpower and eventual downfall and occupation of entire Balkan Peninsula. This resulted in economic and cultural stagnation, prosecution of Christians, spreading of Islam and complex political situation that still has consequences on present situation. The monument is easily reachable, even though it is not adequately maintenanced. There is a police at the entrance and you have to give your ID which they will return when you leave. Police officers speak Serbian and are polite and helpful.

A monument which was built by the Serbs in the memory of their loss of their country to sultan Murat in 1389. Nothing to much to see. Just a tower and stairs to go to the top. Passports or identity cards are taken while getting in and I believe this monument is especially build in jealousy as sultan Murat türbe gets more attraction and much more popular
Hsyn S — Google review
I am not from this region, 1389 is too far fetched for me. But I do understand that Milosevic speech in 1989 is very significant. Sparkling up so-called nationalism & hatred among different nations in former Yugoslavia, marking it’s path of being disintegrated. How amazing that bus loads & plane loads were brought here.

The Kosovo Battle Monument. A soldier forbade me from going in with a camera, but using a phone was fine. I don’t really understand the reason, but the views aren’t particularly interesting. If you’re passing by, it’s not a bad place to visit, but if you’re not very interested in history, you won’t be missing much.

Located across from the Newborn Monument, the Memorial HEROINES - Memoriali HEROINAT is a unique piece of art that serves as a memorial to women who suffered during the war in Kosovo. It honors the important role played by women in Kosovo's struggle for independence and aims to keep their memory alive. The monument features a plaque with a quote from Mother Teresa and stands as a powerful symbol related to women's experiences during the war.
With it's unique design it looks like a spomenik at first sight, you would think this special monument made for Woman Partisans but it hold so much different story within. Erected in front of the famous Newborn Monument, Heroinat (Heroines) Monument reflects the mass rape horror of Kosovo War. More than 20.000 women killed, injured and raped in the war and monument itself made by more than 20.000 pins for honoring every single woman who suffered deeply in that war. One of the most unique monuments in the whole Kosovo, hands down.

Papirun is an incredible fast food restaurant that has maintained its exceptional taste throughout the years. Their Chicken Crunch Sandwich remains consistent and the cleanliness of their bathrooms is commendable. It is the best place to enjoy authentic, hand-made sandwiches with a variety of ingredients ranging from beef to chicken and even vegetarian options. The menu also offers a rich selection of soups. With affordable prices, you can indulge in a soup and sandwich combo for just five dollars.
I recently visited Papirun, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations! The menu offers a fantastic variety of sandwiches, from classic options to creative combinations that cater to every taste. I tried the chicken crunch sandwich, and it was phenomenal – fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. What truly sets this place apart is the quality of the ingredients. The bread was fresh and fluffy, and the fillings were vibrant and packed with flavor. You can tell they put a lot of thought into every bite. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure my order was perfect.

Staff is terrible!!! Rude, mean and they give you strange looks! Moreover, if they do not “like” you they will delay your food. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Pristina, Hostel Han is a fantastic choice for travelers seeking both comfort and convenience. This casual hostel features simple dorms and private rooms, all designed with bright interiors that create a welcoming atmosphere. Each bunk comes equipped with individual privacy curtains, ensuring you can unwind after a day of exploring without disturbance. The communal kitchen is fully stocked, making it easy to whip up meals or enjoy complimentary tea and coffee throughout your stay.
I had only intended to stay at Hostel Han for 4 nights but ended up staying for 10. That, in itself, should say something about the comfort, hospitality and convenience of the place. Han is run by two awesome brothers, Arben and Azren, and they made sure my stay was as enjoyable as possible, always offering useful local advice and game for a beer or two aswell. The hostel is exceptionally friendly and sociable and there's a large and comfortable living room to hang out in during the evenings. There's also a couple of balconies at the property where you can chill and enjoy the great views of Pristina. Hostel Han is very deserving of 5 stars and for sure, whatever my budget, I will use Han as a base on my next visit to Pristina.

I visited this hostel shortly after covid restrictions started to lift so it was pretty much empty and not running as "normal". That said, I found the sole remaining staffer to be very kind, responsive, and helpful. The hostel was in an awesome location, right off the main drag. The rooms and shared spaces were comfortable, and the wifi was fast. The only downsides were that the hostel could probably use a good cleaning and a new kitchen (the fridge in particular didn't really work).
Netia I — Google review
This is in a somewhat dilapidated building on the 4th floor. The lift is sadly broken and doubt it will be working anytime soon. Luckily inside it's a lot better. The rooms are eh roomy; my room has 2 sofas to sit on. Each bed has curtains and a socket for charging. There are 2 bathrooms for each gender but the shower is broke in the mixed toilet, that needs to be fixed. Staff are mainly volunteers but all were friendly. There was a night Mexican which some of the volunteers contributed to. This is where the hostel is at its best. A good place if a solo traveler to meet others.
Robert C — Google review
The staff is quite friendly, but the bedlinen smelled strongly of cigarettes. The bathrooms were not so clean. The elevator in the building was broken, so you will have to use the stairs (4 floors) which is quite inconvenient if you have heavy luggage.

After being told by a local to stay at Han Hostel, I arrived for only one night and stayed for three. The hosts are a lovely group of people that run a cosy hostel located in the centre of Pristina so sightseeing and going out for a drink is never far away. Highly recommend! Cheers guys.

I tried the recommended specialty steak at Gagi Restaurant and it was delicious. The owner, who was very pleasant, shared a homemade red pepper and eggplant sauce. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the service was friendly. There were plenty of options for both meat and wine. I would definitely dine here again. In addition to dining in, I have also ordered takeout from Gagi twice and each time it was wonderful. The food not only looked good but tasted great too!
We decided to end our Peaks of the Balkans trip at the best restaurant in Prishtina. The Gagi Restaurant is a unique place to enjoy your dinner time, there is a warm atmosphere, the staff is one of a kind. The food is delicious, you have different varieties of dishes that you can choose. The knowledge of the waiter is outstanding, he has a wide background when it comes to culture and tradition, he can assist you by choosing your best regional wine sort. I fully recommend to visit this place if you want to have an unforgettable experience!

Amazing amazing restaurant. First I want to say that the staff workers are very nice and welcoming. The food was very very good. The place is very nice looking and relaxing. Honestly one of the best places ive eaten at in Europe because the prices are very normal and reasonable also. Not over priced. You won’t regret this place.

If only steaks in America was this good at triple the price. I can't believe how good the steak was for $16-$19. Wow. The manager and staff were awesome. Will be back.

The worst waiter in the world I order gagi steak medium well He gave me medium rear then he change it… It’s was sooo dry I cant cut it and so difficult to chew When I ask the waiter why it’s to though he was so rude with me and he took the dish and say that’s what u ordered 😑

I ordered the specialty steak the waiter recommended, and it tasted great. The owner was very nice, and shared a red pepper and egg plant sauce that his mother made. Good ambiance and friendly service. Plenty of meat and wine options from which to choose. I would return here to dine again.

The staff at Gagi went above and beyond, making our experience truly exceptional. Their attention to detail and personalised touch made us feel like cherished guests rather than just customers. Now, let's talk about the food—pure culinary delight. The meat dishes were nothing short of amazing, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour. And the homemade pasta? It was a revelation, showcasing a level of craftsmanship that's hard to find elsewhere.

The Great Mosque, also known as the King's Mosque, is an Ottoman architectural gem situated in Pristina, Kosovo. Constructed in 1461 by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, it stands as a significant symbol of Islamic architecture in Eastern Europe. The mosque boasts intricate decorative elements and a rich historical significance.
🕌 Historic, peaceful, and welcoming The Great Mosque of Pristina (also known as Sultan Mehmet Fatih Mosque) is one of the oldest mosques in the city, dating back to the 15th century. The place is very clean, and the local community is warm and friendly. There’s even a small coffee area inside, where people gather and chat — something you don’t often see in mosques. Also, many people around speak Turkish, which makes Turkish visitors feel right at home. Definitely worth a visit.

The Sultan Mehmed Mosque in Pristina, also known as the Imperial Mosque or King’s Mosque, was built in 1461 by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror (Mehmed II). It is the largest and most prominent mosque in Pristina, Kosovo, and is considered a masterpiece of Ottoman Islamic architecture in Eastern Europe. The mosque features a large dome with a diameter of about 14 meters, a tall and slim minaret, a representative porch, and richly decorated interiors including geometric and plant motif ornaments. The construction was made mainly from carved yellow sandstone and lime mortar. An inscription in Arabic at the mosque’s entrance dates its completion to 1461. Historically, the mosque was temporarily converted into a Catholic church during the Austro-Turkish wars at the end of the 17th century. It has undergone several restorations, notably in 1682-83 during the reign of Sultan Mehmed IV, after a 1955 earthquake, and again in the early 2000s with Turkish assistance. The mosque remains an important religious, cultural, and architectural landmark in Pristina and serves the Muslim community to this day. In brief, the Sultan Mehmed Mosque is a 15th-century Ottoman mosque in Pristina built by Mehmed the Conqueror, renowned for its historical significance and architectural beauty.

The Imperial Mosque, also known as the King's Mosque, was built in 1461 by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in the Ottoman style. During the Austro-Turkish Wars in the late 17th century, the mosque was temporarily turned into a Catholic church. Great view of Prishtina and delicious food, same formula of taste, not too oily and salty, exactly, as I prefer. Have been there often these 4 last years and what I like are the same polite waiters and the service.

Nice restaurant ,Shame windows were a bit mucky as ruined view out onto pristina. Food was decent ,not outstanding but I enjoyed my bream and starter of calamari. Would recommend still this restaurant despite having eaten at better places in pristina this week in my opinion.

Definitely worth visiting once FOR THE VIEW, but absolutely wouldn't recommend the food. The preparation is a sad waste of good products. Service is also absent and waiters seem to saunter over to tables as and when they feel like it. €50 for two people would've been worth it had the food been up to scratch, but as it stands, it was simply a pricey ticket to a great sunset over Prishtina.

Shaban Grill House is a bustling eatery during lunchtime, indicating its competence and worthiness of a visit. For non-Albanian speakers and those unfamiliar with local cuisine, the restaurant conveniently displays large signs featuring pictures of their food options. It's important to note that one meal, particularly the Combo plate, is more than sufficient for two people. Additionally, regardless of the chosen lunch plate, each table receives a dinner-plate sized round loaf of bread per person.
The food at Shaban is consistently excellent. We find ourselves coming back almost every day because the meals are so tasty. The prices are very reasonable, service is quick and straightforward, and the whole experience is always pleasant. Highly recommended
Andrei R — Google review
The meatballs are quite tasty but due to the fast turnover they can sometimes be a bit dry. Their salads are absolutely amazing. I have them every time I visit. The waiters are attentive but I wish they had the habit of wiping and clearing tables more regularly. The place is always very crowded, so you might struggle to find a seat. Overall, it’s a nice spot.
Ahmet F — Google review
On our first day, we tried the famous Kaymaklı Köfte and a regular portion of meatballs at the well-known local spot, Shaban Grill House. The meat itself was tasty, and they served it with bread, though the bread was cold — it would have been nicer if it were warm. The meatballs were also a bit on the salty side. Prices were quite affordable. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed by the crowd and weren’t very friendly, and cleanliness could definitely be improved.
Hilal B — Google review
🔥 Tasty, fast, and affordable — but not for a long sit-down! Shaban Grill is a great spot if you’re looking for a quick and tasty meal in the middle of the city. It’s located in a very busy area, and they serve delicious grilled köfte at very affordable prices. Service is super fast, and the food is definitely worth it — perfect for a quick bite. However, parking is a real challenge, and finding a table can also be difficult, especially during peak hours. There’s only one restroom, which is not ideal. ✅ Tasty food ✅ Credit Card ✅ Very fast service ✅ Budget-friendly ❌ Difficult parking ❌ Limited seating ❌ Only one WC 💡 Great for a quick meal — just don’t expect to hang out too long. Still worth trying!
Omer A — Google review
Absolutely delicious! Fast speed, suitable for any group size, and friendly! The sausages are a bit on the salty side, but they pair perfectly with the bread and salad. I ordered the mixed grill and actually preferred the burger like beef, it comes with salad and bread. Overall, a great experience. I’m coming back again today!
Sara T — Google review
Amazing food, friendly staff, awesome prices. We ate a sausage and a chicken breast steak with €3.5 each and one ajvar with €1. They offer bread from the house, and every portion comes with a small salad. Definitely, a good place to eat in Pristina. You can pay cash or by card.
Vlad O — Google review
A place on the main promenade, very popular as it is sometimes difficult to find a free seat here. There are plenty of seats outside, but these are occupied first. The interior is of course air-conditioned. Very efficient service and a good set of grilled dishes, typical of the country. Waiting period very short for such a large number of customers. Very good idea with the variety of portion sizes. A lot of people also take food to go. You can pay here by card.
W M — Google review
We shared köfte and a salad, both very good. It’s a simple, fast-food-style place with no alcohol served. While waiting in line, I was filming the display window and noticed the cook turning the köfte on the grill with his bare hand. When he saw me recording, he laughed and offered me a köfte to taste — it was hilarious.

Sonder, a remarkable restaurant reminiscent of a fairy tale, left patrons with nothing to lament. The level of service provided was exceptionally congenial, even amidst a bustling crowd. Their treatment of all customers exuded benevolence and regard. Opting for a vegan dish proved to be an excellent choice as the flavors were delightful on the palate. Patrons willingly queued for 15 minutes in anticipation of savoring their lunch here, which undoubtedly proved worthwhile.
Contemporary restaurant with a young clientele. The menu is clearly laid out. There are offers for breakfast and brunch. The food is reasonably priced. My shakshouka was very tasty. I can also recommend the blueberry juice. The team was friendly and attentive. I was able to pay by credit card.

During our last evening in the city, we wanted to enjoy a late-night meal. Originally planning to dine at Pishat, we were unable to secure a table due to a private event. Given that it was a bustling Friday night, other restaurants in the city center were also fully occupied. However, if you're looking for the best burger experience in Kosovo, BUFFÁLO Prishtine is the place to go.
I ordered "El Chapo" burger and it is one of the best burgers I've ever eaten in my life! Besides, my GF always order a plain burger and here it is where you can check the real taste and quality and it was superb!

The fries were amazing, thin, crunchy, salty. The burger sauce, bun and concept are good but the patty (meat) was not of good quality, kinda like fake meat.
Anylë Z — Google review
If you’re on the hunt for the best burgers in Prishtina, Buffalo Restaurant is the place to go. The burgers are absolutely delicious – juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The fries are also really good, crispy and nicely seasoned. However, the experience isn’t all perfect. The prices are a bit on the higher side compared to similar spots in the city. Also, the place itself is quite small, and not the most comfortable if you’re planning to sit and relax for a while. The bathroom didn’t quite match the quality you’d expect from a place serving such top-tier food – definitely something that could be improved. In short, amazing food, but the overall atmosphere and pricing might not be for everyone. And they don't give fiscal coupons.
Rinor D — Google review
Could've been amazing but was way too overcooked. Also the blonde lady by the register was rude and unfriendly
Ben S — Google review
Waited 2 hours for a burger that NEVER came. Not only did it never arrive, but when I called starving and frustrated, the girl (later the boy) on the phone couldn’t have sounded more indifferent. Zero apology. Zero care. Just plain disrespect. If I hadn’t called, I bet they’d leave me hungry till tomorrow. Absolute joke of a service, embarrassing, lazy, and unprofessional!!!
Aida G — Google review
The meat was cooked ok, but the bun was cold not even warm or anything. The quality has gone down extremy, Ive visited before and was super delicious, now its just another burger place with mehh burgers, with huge prices. The qusadilllas were not good, way to little meat just sauce and cheese. Not a good experience, I hope they improve.

Nestled at the edge of Zahir Pajaziti Square, Matisse is a charming café that beautifully blends the art of cake-making with delightful food offerings. As I settled into one of their checkered tablecloth-covered tables, I was transported to a quaint French bistro—if only for a moment—before my gaze shifted to the surrounding scenery, which included the not-so-grand Grand Hotel. The ambiance here is perfect for indulging in sweet treats while soaking up the local atmosphere.
They have great service. Coffee is better than any competitor in that area, the staff is so kind and polite especially Migjen he is a great guy. Highly recommend.

Edit* to add that this was at the Prishtina mall location Both cake pieces were as hard as they were over a week old. Lemonade was way too concentrated. Although I got a replacement for one piece with a fresh cake, I was still asked to pay for the garbage ones. A free gallery with no permanent exhibition. What you will see will depend on the exhibition at the time. It is a tiny place and in my case the artworks were not particularly interesting, at least for me. It is pretty much right across the amazing brutalist library so you cannot miss it.

Stands behind the National Gallery - it's a small gallery, but nice artworks. Would probably take you 30-45 minutes to really view it. At the time I went, they had borrowed artworks from another Museum. Public Toilet available. Free entry.

From the photos on Google Maps I thought the art gallery was the interesting looking grey building decorated in circles. It is not, it’s a more diminutive building within a stones throw of it. It’s free to visit and includes a handful of modern works, in a handful of well lit modern rooms. It will take all of 30 Minutes to appreciate. What I love about these works are their message, obviously open for interpretation, that speak volumes about the world we live in. Pop on if close by.

This cafe looks brand new. Very nicely decorated. Located away from the main street where such places are heavily crowded in the morning. Here it is quiet and peaceful. Very good coffee, although it is served in tiny cups. There is also something to eat for breakfast. Sandwiches quite good. Very friendly staff who speak English. Quiet and calm music in the background gives a good atmosphere. Very good place for breakfast. The only comment is that the waiting time is quite long for breakfast sandwiches. Coffee appears on the table Very quickly and as a result when they bring the sandwiches, the coffee is gone.

Sightseeing tour agency
The Tomb of Murad I, located near Pristina, is a remarkable historical landmark that pays homage to the Ottoman Sultan who fell in the Battle of Kosovo in 1389. This site marks the final resting place of Sultan Murad, whose legacy is deeply woven into Balkan history. After his death at the hands of a Serbian soldier following a hard-fought victory, his internal organs were interred here while his body was sent to Bursa, then the capital of the Ottomans.
The highlight of my Mitrovic/Vushtrri/Prishtin tour. I can just recommend the Place to everyone who is interested in history. A really symphatic man explained us everything about the little museum. The influence of the ottomans is really impressive. We came at 4:30 pm but the doors were still open. Ao go there even though you’re not punctual. The people are extremely polite and can talk in lots of languages like English, Turkish and Albanian.

This is the burial place for internal organs of the third Ottoman Sultan who was martyred in Kosovo (may God's mercy be upon his soul). A free to visit museum was also there next to the tomb, which was a pleasant surprise as we didn't know about. The museum guide was an excellent host, who spoke English and Turkish, and held an excellent grasp of the Kosovar-Ottoman history.

This is the place where sultan Murat was killed by a Serbian soldier after he had defeated his enemy in 1389. Then they took his inner organs off and buried directly in here and the body was sent to Bursa which was the capital of the ottomans then. So this tomb ise build by sultan Murat’s son in the 14th century and been here since then. A popular place among the locals , Muslims and Turkish people people to visit and it contains a few buildings such as the museum and the staff house. You should visit it if you are in Prishtina, just 10 minutes to there by car

Free to visit. One of the early sultans of Ottomans is buried here. There is an old couple who take care of this place. They are called Turbedar family. Turbedar family tradition goes from to father to son. This family will be last family since they don’t have a son.
H O — Google review
A local told us to visit. The tomb is still cared for by the grounds keepwe who lives next door. Really peaceful. We had a car so visited when travelling from Prishtina to Prizren
A M — Google review
A place where world history was written. If Sultan Murad didn’t win the Kosovo battle in which he gave his life for the world would be a different place. Definitely worth a visit.
Serdar — Google review
Here rests the heart of Sultan Murad Hüdavendigar, grandson of Mete, heir to the legacy of ancient warriors. On these sacred plains of Kosovo, his martyrdom sowed the seeds of empire. This soil has drunk the blood of a sultan—now it whispers tales of honor to the winds. May his soul find peace, and his courage live on in every breath of this land.
Recep Z — Google review
Very nice place. Historical mausoleum of Sultan Murat. The old lady on the site speaks Albanian, Bosnian and Turkish. On the way from Pristina to Mitrovica, just outside of the capital in a place called Mazgit

Pristina Bus Station is a hub for local buses, making it convenient for travelers to visit popular destinations like Prizren in Kosovo and Skopje in North Macedonia. The station offers a well-organized layout with clear signposts and an indoor waiting area. Travelers can find cafes, restaurants, and shops within the station premises.
Very friendly people. There is a storage place for 1 euro a items for 24h. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Every two hours there is a bus going to the airport out of my head (7,9,11,13,15,17,19,21,23hour)
Anouk K — Google review
It's the main bus station of Pristina. Unfortunately, ticket office accepts only Euros cash, no debit or credit cards, even not accepting Macadonian Denars. Also, there is no ATM at the station so you must take a taxi to go to the city to look for ATM to bring cash. Such Central Station must be more international and facilitated. You can find here some good mini markets, cafes, and restaurants.
Habib — Google review
This is the main station for buses in Pristina. The place itself is quite simple with benches inside and outside. The inside is not so clean and it has few shops where you can purchase food, mostly snacks. There is no WiFi so be prepared to that. Few people can speak English and they are really helpful.
Daniele R — Google review
It is not too far from the center of the city but not a walking distance with luggage. The information boards are not functioning and desperately in need of basic renovation, if they want more tourists to come to Kosovo.
Tadayuki H — Google review
Overall positive experience with this bus station. It's not well-equipped, no free Wi-Fi as of April 2025, but staff were friendly and ready to help. Left luggage service (€1 for the day) closes at 9pm. Bus to Skopje left on time, and no luggage or platform charge
N — Google review
🇽🇰Prishtina from and to Prizren in 5 EURO💶 You can look for your destination in front of the bus and get on. The bus staff or driver will come and collect money on the way.

30 minutes walk to city center Toilet fee €0.50 Luggage storage €1 one day There’s 2 sides of platform I took the bus to Skopje, last bus at 8pm (it’s a van actually) Can buy online at travelling(dot)com at €9.30 Buy at counter at €9 only cash Or pay on bus €8.5 but seat is first come first serve No extra terminal fee or platform fee or luggage fee Staff attitude not good WiFi: HD Caffe Password: 11112222 (as at Oct 2025) Alternatively can walk into the cafe and ask for it without the need to purchase anything
Whitney L — Google review
The Pristina Main Bus station is a bustling location, although cleanliness, particularly with regard to the paid public restrooms, could be improved. The internet wifi wasn't functioning during my visit. Nonetheless, it's a safe spot to sit and wait for your bus. Just be cautious of stray dogs when exploring nearby areas.

I was in Pristine for 6 weeks and not a single time did I see any work happening or information about when it will be open. Another black hole for taxpayers of EU US Turkey and indeed UN. Where the money sent to Kosovo in aid is anyone guess. This along with the National Library should be closed down and sold to private company to build a mall or apartments. Apparently thats the only 2 things that are in demand here.
