Architectural Buildings
The Pyramid of Tirana, originally known as the Enver Hoxha Museum, is a distinctive pyramidal structure in the city. It was built in 1988 to honor Enver Hoxha, the former leader of Communist Albania. Designed by Hoxha's daughter and her husband, it was intended to be a museum showcasing his legacy. However, after his death, it was repurposed as a conference center.
The Pyramid of Tirana was a fascinating and unique place to visit. Its bold and unusual design immediately caught my eye, standing out as one of the city’s most distinctive landmarks. Walking around it, I could sense the layers of history it carries—from its origins as a museum to its role as a cultural and social hub today. I enjoyed exploring the area and seeing how locals and visitors alike interacted with the space, giving it a lively and creative atmosphere. The Pyramid’s blend of history, symbolism, and modern use made it much more than just a building—it was a thought-provoking highlight of my time in Tirana.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Pyramid of Tirana, and it was an interesting experience. The architectural design is unique and striking, creating a distinctive landmark in the city. The historical significance of the building is intriguing, offering insights into Albania's past. The surrounding area is vibrant, with bustling streets and lively atmosphere. Overall, the Pyramid of Tirana is worth a visit for those interested in architecture and history.
Lindsey R — Google review
We visited the Pyramid of Tirana on a sunny day, and it was really hot! The structure has around 100 steps to climb to the top, which gives you a panoramic view of the city — although much of it is now covered by the surrounding tall buildings. The climb itself is a bit steep but manageable. It’s an interesting landmark with a unique design and some historical value, but honestly, there’s not much to see once you reach the top. You can visit if you’re nearby or curious, but it’s not something you’d miss out on if you skip it. To cool off we had a nice passionfruit lemonade at Mon Cheri.
Yogesh T — Google review
It’s a truly beautiful spot with a stunning view of the surroundings. From up there you can see forests, meadows, and distant hills stretching all the way to the horizon. On a clear day the scenery seems to go on forever, creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere, perfect for taking a break and just soaking it all in.
Sebastián L — Google review
We visited this place in the evening. The interior was already closed, but the surroundings were beautiful. Beautiful architecture of the adjacent "blocks" and the park. From the top of the pyramid there was a wonderful view in every direction. It is a free lookout tower. I definitely recommend visiting.
Lucia Z — Google review
For some reason, everyone takes photos near the entrance, but from there you can’t see its scale or the amazing stair-like sides. Inside, it’s now a bright shopping center (we didn’t go in), but from the top, there’s a beautiful view over the city. Highly recommend. We like this place.
Екатерина T — Google review
It’s a very pretty architecture especially at night. There is a wheelchair accessible path to get inside the building and you can use the lift to get up by asking the security. BUT once you are out of the lift there are three steps to get outside and the outside structure isn’t really wheelchair accessible. So all I could do was stand at the door and have a look outside before riding the lift down again.
Simone L — Google review
Nice morning stroll and stumbled on the Pyramid. Decent amount of steps to get to the top but seating area for a breather before taking in the views which were very good looking out over Tirana. From here we got a cab to the Cable Car to get an even better look from the top of the mountain.

In the heart of the city center, you'll find the Et'hem Bej Mosque, an 18th-century historical place of worship that stands out for its colorful frescoes. This mosque is a significant site in Albania's history as it miraculously survived destruction during the communist era due to its intricate nature motifs and murals, which were valued for their cultural and artistic significance.
The Et’hem Bey Mosque in Tirana was one of the most beautiful and memorable places I visited. Tucked away in the heart of Skanderbeg Square, its elegant design and peaceful atmosphere immediately stood out against the bustle of the city. The mosque’s history and cultural significance made it feel like a true gem in the capital. Inside, I was amazed by the delicate frescoes and intricate decorations, each detail telling a story and adding to the spiritual charm of the place. Despite being small, the mosque carried a serene and timeless presence that left a lasting impression on me. Visiting the Et’hem Bey Mosque was both inspiring and uplifting—a highlight of my time in Tirana.
Mohsin R — Google review
Small but beautiful Mosque completed in 1821. It was closed during the communist period but saw a rebirth of religious freedom in 1991. Restoration work was completed in 2018. It's worth visiting for its interior mural paintings and frescoes. You are encouraged to give a donation, I think €1 is quite acceptable.

Et'hem Bey Mosque – A Peaceful and Historic Landmark A beautiful mosque located right in the center of Tirana at Skanderbeg Square. It’s one of the city’s oldest and most important historical buildings, built in the late 18th century during the Ottoman period. The mosque is small but full of charm. Its interior walls are decorated with unique and colorful frescoes, which are rare for Islamic architecture. It’s quiet and peaceful inside, offering a calm break from the busy city outside. Visitors are welcome outside of prayer times, and there is no entrance fee. It’s a great place to learn a bit about Albania’s past and see a piece of its cultural and religious heritage. Definitely worth a short stop during your visit to Tirana!
Mahmut I — Google review
A true jewel of Tirana and an absolutely essential stop for anyone interested in history and architecture. This small, elegant mosque stands out in the heart of Skanderbeg Square, with its delicate and beautiful frescoes that are a rare sight in Islamic art. The paintings of trees, waterfalls, and bridges are a unique and stunning detail that makes this place truly special. The mosque has a powerful history, serving as a symbol of religious freedom during the fall of communism in Albania. It's a peaceful and spiritual place that invites contemplation, and its blend of Ottoman and local design elements is a testament to the country's rich cultural tapestry. The craftsmanship is breathtaking, and the serene atmosphere makes it a perfect escape from the bustling city. Definitely recommended 👌🏼.
Walter B — Google review
Small yet profoundly beautiful, the Et’hem Bej Mosque stands as one of Tirana’s most graceful architectural treasures. Completed in 1821, it embodies the delicate harmony of Ottoman artistry and Albanian devotion. Closed for decades during the communist period, the mosque’s reopening in 1991 marked not only a restoration of a historic monument but also the symbolic rebirth of religious freedom in Albania. Its walls and domes are adorned with remarkable frescoes and mural paintings, depicting natural landscapes, trees, and waterfalls—rare subjects in Islamic art—that make this intimate sanctuary truly special. Visitors are welcome to enter respectfully, removing their shoes before entry. There is a simple system to store them, though it could benefit from some improvement. A small donation (€1 is perfectly appropriate) is encouraged, and it helps preserve this serene and historically significant space.
Q G — Google review
A truly beautiful mosque full of history and spiritual atmosphere. You can go inside to pray or simply enjoy the peaceful setting. They even offer free water to visitors, which is a kind and thoughtful gesture. A wonderful place to visit and reflect. 🌿🕌🙏
IsKoc ( — Google review
Lucky to have it inctacted and undemolished - considering Enver Xodha's temple demolitions. Looks even more beautiful at night. However, visiting inside of the mosque isn't allowed at late night. If you like painted ornaments of this mosque, you might consider visiting painted / colorful mosque in Tetovo, as well.
Canbu — Google review
Very small Mosque. I'll take you maybe 10 to 15 minutes. It's great to be able to see a little bit of history. The staff were very helpful as we had my visually impaired father-in-law with us and they were helpful. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because the staff member was suggesting how much to donate or at least that's how I interpreted it. Not a big fan of that. Usually when we go to visit churches, mosques, or other religious historic places of worship we donate generously.

The National Historical Museum in Albania is housed in a Communist-era building and offers themed exhibitions that cover the country's history from ancient times to the present day. The museum showcases artifacts, exhibits, maps, monuments, paintings, documents, and more to provide insight into Albania's multicultural past. Visitors can explore the history of the region's inhabitants, including the Illyrians and their interactions with Romans and Greeks.
Located in the heart of Tirana, the National Historical Museum was inaugurated on October 28, 1981. It is the largest museum in Albania and showcases the country's history from antiquity to modern times. Visitors can see artifacts from the ancient Illyrian period, the Roman and Byzantine eras, and the medieval period, as well as exhibits on the Albanian National Awakening and the communist era. The iconic mosaic of the façade of the National Historic Museum is considered to be one of the finest examples of late Albanian Socialist Realism. Installed in 1981, it showcases some of the important milestones of the country’s history, spanning from antiquity to the Communist era, across its 565 m2 surface area.

I recently visited the National Historical Museum in Tirana and was disappointed to find it temporarily closed. However, the museum's exterior is impressive, and the location is central, making it a great starting point for exploring the city. I’ve heard the exhibits showcase Albania’s rich history, and I can’t wait to return when it reopens.
Enoch O — Google review
The National Historical Museum in Tirana is a captivating dive into Albania’s rich past. From ancient artifacts to modern history, every exhibit tells a story of resilience and culture. A must-visit for anyone wanting to understand the heart and soul of Albania.
Sara D — Google review
I was really looking forward to visiting the National Historical Museum, but unfortunately, it was closed when I arrived. There was no clear sign or information about the closure, which was quite disappointing. The building looks impressive from the outside, especially at night, but that’s all I could experience. It’s a shame that such an important cultural site wasn’t accessible.
Misha S — Google review
The National Historical Museum is the kind of place that reminds you a country’s story is never simple. The mosaic outside already sets the tone — proud, dramatic, full of struggle. Inside, the halls move you through Albania’s past step by step: Illyrian roots, invasions, resistance, dictatorship. Some sections feel heavy, especially the modern history rooms, but that weight is part of the truth they’re trying to show. It’s not flashy or over-designed; it’s honest. You walk out understanding the country better — not just dates and events, but the spirit that shaped the people.
Nomad7 — Google review
Probably 4 stars but it is an extensive museum where you will surely learn things. Covers a wide time range, Bronze Age to WW2. Maps, objects, photos, clothing are all part of the museum. There is even an iconography section which includes stuff from Kosovo. Generally there is a bit too much writing in bunched up mega-paragraphs in each section. Not a great way to transmit the knowledge. People would walk right by a lot of it like “Sorry this happened to you Albania but I’m not reading all that.” Text is in Albanian and English only. Worth the 500 lek entry but hard to understand why they close at 4pm and don’t take euros or card. Definitely one of the best museums in the country.
Damian T — Google review
Overall it was good experience. The ancient part is amazing. However there are some periods in the history are missing. It would have more variety sections and the museum can be more modernized. Nevertheless it is a must place to visit in Tirana.
Samet K — Google review
It's worth visiting. The National History Museum includes the following pavilions: the Pavilion of Antiquity, Middle Ages, Renaissance, Independence, Iconography, National Liberation Antifascist War, Communist Terror, and Mother Teresa. They overleaped Ottoman Period. It is obviously political decision. You need 1 hour at least to see everything.

The House of Leaves Museum, also known as the Museum of Secret Surveillance, is a significant historical site in Tirana. Housed in a former bunker and spy headquarters used by the communist government, it offers a chilling glimpse into Albania's tumultuous past. The museum showcases thousands of files and espionage devices from the period of communism, shedding light on the oppressive regime's surveillance and persecution of its people. Visitors can explore exhibits detailing the regime's connections with other countries and its methods of censorship and oppression.
Growing up, Tirana and Albania were so remote and inaccessible that I couldn’t imagine actually visiting the city or country. Having arrived in Tirana our (2 adults- 3 teenagers) first visit was to the House of Leaves - a really excellent introduction to the regime and recent history - well laid out and located on the actual site of much of the activities (Sigurimi) around monitoring people and the paranoia of the regime - a personal insight was the development of ever more ‘subtle’ ways of spying on people - nowadays the state or other ‘institutions’ don’t need to be so surreptitious - the information is volunteered - now where did I leave my car keys Alexa? How is your voice assistant today? 👀👂🏻😮 - have we given up our privacy? BTW my 3 kids were enthralled and got a sense of the history through the exhibits and building - it was a really good introduction to the city and country - excellent experience
Pat O — Google review
Authentic, sobering, well curated with English translations. Plan to spend 1 to 2 hours exploring the site and absorbing the information. You will gain a deeper understanding of the depth and breadth of the Communist regime's control on the Albanian people. It is prohibited to take photos inside the building.
Carol D — Google review
House of Leaves is an incredibly interesting and moving place in the heart of Tirana. The exhibitions are very well prepared and provide a deeper understanding of Albania’s difficult history under the communist regime. The building itself has an extraordinary atmosphere, and the materials and displays make a strong impression and encourage reflection. This museum is not an easy, “light” tourist attraction, but it is absolutely worth visiting to gain a deeper insight into the country’s past and to appreciate its path to freedom.
Robert G — Google review
Very interesting museum. It was the head quarters of the Sigurimi (the secret police under the communist dictatorship). Explains how the they used surveillance on Albanians and foreigners. Lots of historical documents and artifacts. Great for history buffs.
Oliver L — Google review
Very informative Museum of Secret Surveillance . Located in the building that served as the Sigurimi (which in Albanian means "Security"), was the state security, intelligence and secret police service of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania.headquarters during the communist era.
Eddy S — Google review
A grim reminder of what life was like under the communist regime. This building was home to the secret service and apart from learning about how they spied on individuals using "bugs" monitoring telephone calls etc, you can hear testimonies from some of those who survived torture by the Sigurimi. A wall has the names of thousands of local people who were executed during this period of oppression.
Miles M — Google review
Very interesting museum, it shows the spying techniques used during the columnist era. The entrance ticket is 700 leke (~€7), and you can pay only with cash. There is a bunker in the garden outside the museum. Not so many people visit it, even though you can explore it freely, and I think it is a nice addition to the experience. It is definitely worth visiting.
Juan H — Google review
Wonderfully instructive museum on Hoxha's Sigurimi. Offers adequate historical context on the regime of terror in the country. Everything is translated into English, down to the smallest signs! You won't be able to miss how much foreign equipment was used to spy and maintain its ultra-isolationist regime.

BUNK'ART is a captivating underground museum located in a former Cold War bunker on the outskirts of Tirana, Albania. This expansive space spans nearly 3000 square meters across multiple floors and was originally constructed for the country's political elite in the 1970s. Now transformed into a museum, BUNK'ART showcases a compelling fusion of modern Albanian history and contemporary art through various exhibits.
Great experience in Tirana. Took the number 11 bus - approx 5 minute walk from the entrance. Lots to see. Dedicate at least a 2-3 hours to this. Well run and informative exhibition. We went in September, and it was not too busy. Whilst you are there, definitely consider going on the gondola too. Thanks!
Gregor S — Google review
One of the must-see places in Tirana. Bunk’Art is not just a museum but also a place that makes you truly feel the country’s recent history, the traces of dictatorship, and the psychology of that period. The massive Cold War-era bunker is filled with documents, photographs, and artistic installations that are very impressive. The atmosphere inside is a bit gloomy, but it perfectly reflects the spirit of the time. If you are interested in history, I recommend spending at least 2–3 hours here. It’s a bit far from the city center, but definitely worth the visit.
Erdi S — Google review
An amazing place!... This is one of those places I will never forget as long as I live.... It was both breathtaking and scary in many ways. What money was poured into this bunker to protect the dictator is what could happen in any country. Reading the history of it and what has happened in Albania was breathtaking. It is worth any trip to go and see this. I would love to see more art in some of the empty rooms... But the history that was told in this place was absolutely breathtaking.
Jeff B — Google review
A very interesting visit to a 106 room bunker laid out over 5 underground floors. There is plenty of explanation inside written in English. There was only a detailed timeline that was in Albanian. However there is good wifi underground and we used that to translate it. We walked around slowly and read most of the stuff. It took us about 2 hours. There is a toilet available in the middle of the bunker. Free parking is available after the tunnel in front of the ticket office. Entry per adult is 900lek. There is the option to get an audio guide for an additional 100lek but it was broken the week we went so we didn’t get a chance to use it. There is a private guide available that costs 3000lek.
Caryn Y — Google review
We were there on a Sunday afternoon. The line was very short. Plan on about an hour and a half to explore. It's an interesting place, with its own distinctive underground smell. There's free parking near the ticket office; just drive straight through the first tunnel.
Anna S — Google review
We toured this place with the staff. Highly recommend getting a tour guide through them. They were very informational and tried to tailor the tour to us, our interests and careers to help make history relatable. It was great learning how this place came about and how history still affects us today.
Jocelyn H — Google review
Visiting this is a must if you find yourself in Tirana, it gives you a broader perspective of how Communism was like in Albania for 40 years until it fell. You’ll find everything, it is a huge place as well, don’t get lost or creeped out at some of the things you see there. It’s really worth the visit and time, try it

Nice to see the history of Tirana and Albania inside one of the largest bunkers. Definitely a unique experience that does not happen everywhere. The most interesting thing was they even had a theater inside of the bunker. Nice to show things the way they were many years ago and also nice to highlight the history of the bunkers and the country. I would definitely recommend and interested to see how Bunk'Art2 stacks up against Bunk'Art1.

Tirana Castle, located in the historic center of Tirana, is a medieval fortress with an Ottoman-era wall that now houses handicraft stores, eateries, art galleries, and a hotel. The castle represents a field fortification with a rectangular plan and is thought to belong to the fortifications built by Emperor Justinian in the 4th-6th century.
Tirana Castle is a lovely and authentic spot with a unique atmosphere. The restoration work has been done beautifully, blending history with modern touches. A great place to walk around, enjoy the cafés, and feel the city’s character. 🏰🌿☕

Ah well… it says it’s a castle, but there is nothing left of a castle. It’s just an area with some restaurants and shops - that’s it. It’s a nice place to spend the evening. But if you’re going there thinking you’re going to see some history or an actual castle, then you’ll be disappointed. Just go with the right expectations - think trendy courtyard rather than ancient fortress.
Highway V — Google review
There is almost nothing left of the original castle, just a few walls, so calling it a castle feels a bit misleading. Today it's more of a small tourist spot with cafes, shops, and restaurants built inside the remains. While the area can be nice for a short walk or to grab a drink, if you expect an actual historic castle, you may leave underwhelmed. The castle was first built in the Byzantine era and later expanded by the Ottomans.

Bit of a tourist trap. But if you like that so of thing lots of restaurants and overpriced souvenirs. We had a very grumpy lady that sold my son a 3 euro bottle opener , and you would have thought we had asked for her wisdom tooth. All other Albanians we have met are awesome.
Banksie — Google review
Tirana Castle is a very well-thought-out place. I absolutely loved the idea of having several small restaurants in one area, each with its own unique concept and atmosphere. Every spot was full, and the service was friendly and welcoming. You can find everything from Japanese and Turkish cuisine to modern fusion dishes. We visited Lezet — my review of that restaurant is below. 👇🏻 I’m truly impressed!
Nazgul U — Google review
Not a castle so don’t go there expecting to see one, and only small part of it survives. Instead the “castle” is a place to buy trashy souvenirs and eat/ drink in one of the many bars and restaurants. Expensive
Sam — Google review
Not a castle at all but quite a trendy area with a cool vibe populated with small craft shops and restaurants.

Tanners' Bridge is a restored 18th-century stone bridge in Tirana, offering a glimpse into the city's Ottoman history. Originally part of the Saint George Road connecting Tirana with the eastern highlands, it served as the main route for farmers bringing their livestock to the butchery and leatherworking district.
Wonderful old bridge from the Ottoman era. Well worth a walk over and around. Surprising that they let you walk over such a precious monument that has no safety barriers!
David P — Google review
It is a bridge from the Ottoman period that is still standing and actively used by the people in their daily life. However, it should be taken care of as soon as possible, it is insufficient in terms of maintenance. Its surroundings are very dirty. The surroundings of such a work should not be so dirty and neglected.
Mahmut A — Google review
The Tanners' Bridge is an 18th-century Ottoman period stone footbridge located in Tirana, Albania. The area is so crowded with many shops, barber, noter and others. Few minutes to take photos near the historical bridge is enough. In the 1990s, the bridge was restored for use by pedestrians.
Abu F — Google review
Tanner's Bridge (Ura e Tabakëve) is a small, unused Ottoman-era stone bridge tucked away near Tirana's busy Zogu I Boulevard. Built in the 18th century for tanners crossing the Lana River, it's easy to miss today. While it's a genuine piece of the city's history, its size and lack of current purpose mean it's really just a minor historical footnote unless you're specifically looking for it.
Sakina D — Google review
Beautiful bridge, you can walk through it. Around you also can find some restaurants and bars.

This ancient bridge is a marvel of historical architecture, standing the test of time with its timeless beauty and craftsmanship. Walking across its weathered stones, you can almost feel the centuries of history that have unfolded here. The surrounding scenery adds to the charm, making it a picturesque spot for photos and contemplation. The bridge’s enduring presence serves as a reminder of the engineering ingenuity of the past. It’s a must-see for history enthusiasts and anyone appreciating the fusion of nature and heritage. Highly recommended!
Eagle L — Google review
As a visitor to the vibrant city of Tirana, exploring its rich heritage can be a profoundly enriching experience, especially when it leads to historical gems like the Tanners' Bridge. An emblem of the Ottoman period, this 18th-century stone footbridge offers not just a passage over the former Lanë stream but also a window into the past urban life of Tirana. ~~> Historical Significance and Architecture: The Tanners' Bridge, or Ura e Tabakëve, is an exemplary piece of Ottoman engineering. With dimensions of 8 metres in length, 2.5 metres in width, and 3.5 metres in height, it stands as a modest yet significant structure. The bridge is built of stone, consisting of a main arch complemented by two side arches, each 1 metre thick. This architectural setup not only ensures stability but also enhances the aesthetic appeal with its harmonious proportions and cobblestone paving. Historically, the bridge was a crucial part of the Saint George Road, linking Tirana to the eastern highlands. This route was essential for transporting livestock and produce into the city, directly supporting the economic and social life of the area. The proximity to the Tanners’ Mosque and its location amid the butcher shops and leather workers add layers of socio-economic relevance to its history. ~~> Cultural Importance: The Tanners' Bridge is heralded by the municipality of Tirana as one of the city's most important cultural heritage monuments. It serves as a testament to Tirana’s urban development during the 18th century and showcases the fine bridge construction techniques of that era. Its restoration in the 1990s revitalised the bridge, integrating it into the fabric of Tirana’s modern centre and making it accessible for pedestrians, thus preserving its legacy. ~~> Visitor Experience: Despite its historical and architectural significance, the experience of visiting the Tanners' Bridge can be somewhat obscured by inadequate signage and informational displays. The existing information board is unreadable, making it challenging for tourists to grasp the bridge's rich history and significance fully. Without specific markings or clear historical context provided at the site, many might overlook this architectural relic. ~~> Safety: While the Tanners' Bridge has been beautifully restored to its former glory, visitors should exercise caution due to some safety concerns. The stone surface of the bridge can become quite slippery, especially in wet conditions. Additionally, the lack of handrails or walls along the edges poses a risk of falling. It is particularly important to be vigilant when accompanied by children, ensuring they stay safe while crossing this historic yet potentially hazardous bridge. ~~> Conclusion: The Tanners' Bridge is a crucial piece of Tirana's heritage that deserves more than a cursory glance. It embodies the city's historical journey from a strategic route for trade and commerce to its current status as a preserved cultural monument. Today, the Tanners' Bridge stands as a functional and historic pathway in the heart of Tirana. Used by both locals and tourists, this centuries-old structure serves its original purpose as a pedestrian bridge. As people cross this venerable bridge, many remain unaware of its rich historical significance, simply appreciating it as part of their daily route or as a charming feature in their sightseeing tour. This continuous usage highlights not only the bridge’s resilience and enduring construction but also its seamless integration into the contemporary urban landscape of Tirana. Visitors interested in the layers of history embedded within cityscapes will find the Tanners' Bridge a poignant reminder of Tirana's past. However, to enhance the experience, improved informational resources could help bridge the gap between its historical importance and contemporary recognition. Visiting this site offers a unique insight into the Ottoman architectural influence and the historical urban tapestry of Tirana.

The Clock Tower of Tirana is a significant landmark located in the giant square, alongside other points of interest such as the National Historical Museum of Albania and the Ethem Bey Mosque. Built in 1822 by Haxhi Ethem Bey and completed with contributions from wealthy families, the tower reflects both Ottoman and western architectural styles. It stands as a symbol of the Municipality of Tirana and forms an architectural ensemble with the nearby mosque. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views from its balcony.
Well worth seeing whilst in Skanderbeg Square - it is open from 9 am to 6 pm (but go as early as possible to avoid crowds) and it costs 200 Lek (around £1.70). The view is great as you get an entire view of Skanderbeg Square.
Dashiell G — Google review
If you are in Tirana it is worth taking a trip up to the top of the clock tower. The views of the city are worth the climb (90 stone steos). Cost is 200 Lek, cash only. Note: We visited a couple of times during the hours stated as opening times on Google and the Tower was closed. Eventually found it open on a Wednesday morning around 10am. Think it is staffed by volunteers.

Initiated by Hacı Ethem Bey, and errected by further contribution of wealthy families in Tiranë - hence, considred as part of Hacı Ethem Bey mosque complex. Its possible to climb up the tower for an elevated view over İskender Bey square. However, beware that stairs are steep and marrow, and up/down two ways. Well, being surrended by talk skyscrapers, don't expect to have vaste and endless views from the top of Clock Tower. Ticket is available at the gate, and costs 200 ALL or 2 EUR - if you fancy a stair workout.

Wow! What a fabulous view you have over Skanderbeg Square, El hem Bey mosque to the Resurrection of Christ Orthodox Cathedral and to the nearby mountains and hills.

I believe it used to be a monumental edifice of reference but it seems to have lost its luster. It is however close to some other interesting places so you wouldn’t go wrong to drop by and take one or two pictures. It is a very old structure built in 1822 and you will find a few souvenirs in the markets referencing the clock tower.

Clock tower had no queues to go up. There was a lady on ground who asks for 200 lira to go up. We don't know if she was official or scammer. The view from top was amazing. Clock tower is also location on Skanderbeg square.

Cable car station
Dajti Ekspres is a popular 4670-meter-long cable car line that takes tourists to the top of Dajti Mountain, offering breathtaking views over Tirana and beyond. The longest cable way in the Balkans, it provides an incredible experience for visitors who can enjoy stunning vistas, including those stretching out to the coast on clear days.
A really nice ride upto the mountain for stunning views across Tirana and beyond. The cable car is quick and the views are great. There is plenty to do at the top between resteraunts, a bar, mini golf and view points. You could also continue hiking further up the mountain if you wished. Worth checking the operating times and I understand it is closed on Tuesdays. I went during the morning, spent a short while exploring then headed back down and visited Bunk'Art 1 which is a short walk away.
James W — Google review
The cable car ride was really lovely - calm, scenic, and offering beautiful views over Tirana. Once at the top, the panorama is definitely worth seeing, especially in the morning when it’s quiet and peaceful. That said, I arrived a bit early and noticed that the ticket office didn’t open until about 20 minutes after the official time, which was a bit unexpected. Also, in the morning there isn’t much going on up there yet. Most places were still closed so I just walked around, took some pictures and took the cable car back (20 min max.). Still, it was a nice experience overall. If you’re planning to go, I’d recommend coming a bit later in the day when more things are open. The view alone makes it worth it. The price is 1.500 LEK for a return ticket which can be paid in cash or card. There is also plenty of parking if you come by car. It is also reachable by bus. The bus stops close to Bunk’Art 1. From there it is a 10-15 min walk uphill to the cable car.
Tila N — Google review
This was a beautiful ride up to the moutain. Once there we found plenty to do if you wanted, crazy golf, paintball. However we opted to just walk and take in the spectacular scenery.
Jane C — Google review
Definitely worth visiting. I would recommend to do it in the morning or when of season close to sunset times for a better view. Midday there is too much smog obscuring the beautiful view. (Note that in summer sunset ride its not possible since cable car works till 18.00 and the Sun sets over Tirana around 20.00).
Alek M — Google review
It was great and relaxing experience. It is about 5 kilometer long ride to top of Dajti mountain. View at the top was awesome. You can see whole Tirana. There are more activities here. You can spend time at the cafe or play mini golf or do paragliding. This is one of the must things to do in Tirana.
H O — Google review
Very nice experience, amazing view! I was alone and they let me travel alone in a car, so I really appreciated this, because I was doing a travel vlog for my channel about Tirana. The mountain is also absolutely view. It is worth to travel up to the Dajti Mountain, because the view is amazing!
Előd P — Google review
We approached Dajti Express by noon. A bit crowded. Booked one way ticket to the top and asked our driver to pick us from the top. It’s a 15 minutes ride for 800 Lek, considered as a bit expensive. Nice and beautiful view from the top. Many activities to do like taking photos, telescope viewing, playing mini golf, riding horses, kids playgrounds, walking, eating and others. The prices is really touristic. Deserves the visit.
Abu F — Google review
This is a fantastic way to escape the city and get some fresh air. The Dajti Ekspres cable car ride is an adventure in itself, offering some of the most stunning panoramic views of Tirana and the surrounding landscape as you ascend Mount Dajti. The ride is quite long (15 minutes), which gives you plenty of time to take in the scenery. At the top, there are a few things to do, from enjoying the views at the Ballkoni Dajtit restaurant to walking around and exploring. The natural beauty up there is the main attraction, and it's a perfect spot for a day trip. It's a great experience, though it can get a bit crowded and the activities at the top are what you make of them. Still, the journey and the view are well worth it. Recommended 👍🏼.

Bunk'Art 2 is a unique museum located inside a preserved Communist-era nuclear bunker in Albania. The museum offers an insight into the history of the Albanian Ministry of Internal Affairs from 1912 to 1991, including the activities of the secret police and propaganda during that time. Visitors can explore the underground bunker and learn about the victims of the regime.
Absoloute treat! Visiting the Bunk’Art 2 Museum in Tirana was a powerful and unforgettable experience. Stepping inside the former nuclear bunker, I immediately felt the weight of history and the unique atmosphere of the underground tunnels. The exhibits were thoughtfully curated, blending multimedia displays, artifacts, and stories that brought Albania’s past to life in a very moving way. I especially found the sections on surveillance, dictatorship, and the resilience of the Albanian people both eye-opening and impactful. The museum was easy to explore, well-organized, and full of details that made me reflect deeply on the country’s history. Bunk’Art 2 was more than just a museum—it was an emotional journey and one of the highlights of my visit to Tirana.
Mohsin R — Google review
The museum is quite nice for the experience of going to a bunker. There’s a lot of history background in the place, so you can learn a lot about Albania’s past. However I would expect a bit more of specific explanations on the bunker story, which is not really covered by the banners inside the museum.
Ana T — Google review
Interesting and unique place, but too crowded for the narrow corridors and small rooms. I was expecting more about the history and purpose of the bunkers, but most of the focus was on the police. I understand the intent, but a broader historical context would have been nice. Also, the audio guide only works through a separate app, which isn’t very practical.
Catarina S — Google review
Bunk’Art hits you with a kind of quiet shock. You step in expecting a museum, and instead you enter a cold underground world built for fear and survival. The mix of history, concrete tunnels, sound effects, and real stories from Albania’s past makes it heavy but unforgettable. It’s one of the few places that shows, without pretending, what a dictatorship feels like from the inside. Short visit, strong impact.
Nomad7 — Google review
Absolutely worth a visit. Bunk'Art 2 is located in the centre of Tirana, right by Skanderberg Square. We queued to buy tickets for approximately 15minutes and it was very busy throughout the tour. At times it felt cramped. Really informative and very interesting.

This was an amazing place to visit to learn more about the history of Albania. You will ultimately end up spending about 2 hours to go through all of the museum. It's very interesting to learn about the country, communism, and the change over the past century. Definitely come visit!

Great historical information. There is so much detail in the descriptions of events and timelines. It's all translated into English, which is much appreciated. The Resurrection of Christ Orthodox Cathedral, completed in 2012, is a prominent landmark in Tirana. The cathedral complex includes the main cathedral, residence of the Holy Synod, Chapel of the Nativity, cultural center, small chapel, and library.
This is a fantastic Cathedral in the city center with beautiful murals and a very ornate altar. There is a beautiful bell tower and a most original entrance. Steps down to the right in front lead to a book shop with other items and icons for sale. Very nice! The Resurrection of Christ Cathedral is an Albanian Orthodox church considered among the largest Eastern Orthodox churches in the Balkans. It officially opened June 24, 2012, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the revival of the Albanian Orthodox Church and the election of Archbishop Anastasios of Albania.

Magnificent church with a large ornate dome. Under the dome in the main area of the church, four arches complete a circular structure around the sides with beautiful murals painted onto the pillars of each archway, It's also worth visiting at night to see the lighting at the front entrance.
Miles M — Google review
The Resurrection of Christ Orthodox Cathedral in Tirana is a standout piece of architecture in the city center—I didn’t go inside, but its design truly caught my eye. That large tower—I’m not quite sure of its purpose—adds a striking vertical dimension and gives the cathedral a powerful presence in the skyline. Interesting Fact: This cathedral is one of the largest Eastern Orthodox churches in the Balkans. It opened in 2012 and was built as a symbol of the revival of the Orthodox Church after decades of religious suppression under communism. The complex includes not just the main cathedral but also a bell tower, a chapel, a cultural center, a museum, a library, and more. The architecture blends traditional Byzantine inspiration (with a nod to the design of Hagia Sophia) with contemporary touches, creating a beautiful expression of religious and cultural renewal in Albania.

The architecture is magnificent, with stunning Byzantine-style mosaics and intricate details. The atmosphere is serene and reverent, providing a peaceful space for contemplation. The side pillars are also very decorative. Its very peaceful to spend time in the church. Overall very beautiful church, definitely a must visit place in Tirana.

Very nice church. The only thing I didn't understand was why people would light candles and after they left, a young man working in the church would go there and put off the candles and throw them in a box. I started there for 15 minutes and he did that three times with many candles at a time. Very few stayed lit. Weird.

The Tirana National Archaeological Museum, located in the heart of the city, is a treasure trove of Albania's rich history. From prehistoric artifacts to relics from the communist era, the museum offers a comprehensive journey through time. Its collection includes ancient treasures from the Illyrian, Greek, and Roman periods such as the Apollonia treasure and the Derveni Krater.
The building that houses the Tirana National Archaeological Museum is itself a remarkable piece of architecture, designed by the Italian architect Gherardo Bosio and constructed between 1939 and 1941, during the period of the Italian occupation of Albania. Originally conceived as the Casa della Gioventù Littoria Albanese (House of the Albanian Lictor Youth), it once served as the headquarters of a glorious Albanian youth organization. Today, the building stands as an elegant example of rationalist architecture, gracefully adapted to its new cultural purpose. Its slender lines and geometric purity catch the Mediterranean light beautifully, while its clean proportions convey both restraint and dignity. Located on the east side of Mother Teresa Square, it forms one of the square’s most harmonious architectural ensembles. The museum it now houses is worth visiting, not only for its archaeological treasures but also for the opportunity to appreciate a piece of Tirana’s architectural history, where form, light, and memory intertwine.

📍 National Archaeological Museum – A Quiet Treasure of Albania’s Ancient Past This museum offers a peaceful and informative experience for anyone interested in Albania’s ancient roots. Located near Mother Teresa Square, it houses artifacts from the prehistoric era to the Middle Ages, including items from the Illyrian, Greek, and Roman periods. ✅ What I liked: Wide range of ancient artifacts: tools, pottery, statues, jewelry, and more from different historical periods. Calm and uncrowded atmosphere: Easy to walk around and take your time exploring. Well-lit exhibits: The lighting is surprisingly good, which helps when viewing the details of the artifacts. Low entrance fee and polite, welcoming staff. ⚠️ What could be improved: Lack of detailed information: There were no brochures or in-depth explanations about the items. Most artifacts had only short or basic labels, and some had none. Outdated presentation style: Traditional glass-case displays with little interaction or storytelling may feel underwhelming for some visitors. Limited educational support for foreign visitors: A bit more historical background or context in English would enhance the experience. 📝 Overall: A worthwhile stop for history lovers or curious travelers. The museum holds important pieces of Albania’s cultural heritage, but would benefit greatly from modern interpretive materials. Still, the peaceful atmosphere and interesting artifacts make it a pleasant and meaningful visit.
Mahmut I — Google review
There are so many items displayed which you can appreciate in their own right as beautiful and ancient objects. But this place is really let down by the lack of explanation in either English or Albanian. It needs far more information boards, description panels, perhaps even an audio guide. If the museum is going to aspire to achieve international recognition it must improve the presentation of what is an excellent collection spanning many different periods of history.
Miles M — Google review
It's a small museum, 4 rooms only, full of little objects but with no explanation at all, not even in Albanian. There is no way to appreciate what you are looking at if doesn't even have a name... The only few times you have a small information panel, the picture on it doesn't match the object it's linked to... The price is 400 Lek per person, 300 if it's a group ticket. Cash only. They don't have much change so bring coins if you can.

There is practally no signage in Albanian (or English), so it's hard to make sense of the details of some exhibits. Having said that some (Roman emperors busts) do have labels saying which Emperor and when . Also the man behind the desk was passionate about the exhibits and explained a little around the early Corinthian sytle (Illyrian) style helmets with more of an open face than later helmets, these were apparently developed in the 8th and 7th century BC apparently originating from the Peloponese.... Worth an hours visit, but it shuts at 2pm

Very nice. Kind of hard to find the door but it is cool and empty inside so it was perfect for a hot day. The artifact collection is not huge but it’s pretty comprehensive from prehistoric to the period of maybe Middle Ages.

Skanderbeg Square, the largest square in Albania, is a prominent central hub featuring a monument of the national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbe. This 40,000 square meter area is surrounded by significant buildings such as the National Historical Museum, National Library, National Bank, and the Opera house. The square also houses important monuments like the Palace of Culture and the Ethem Bey Mosque. It serves as a venue for major celebrations and cultural events in Tirana.
Skanderbeg Square instantly impressed me as the vibrant heart of Tirana. The vast open space, framed by historic and cultural landmarks, created a sense of both grandeur and community. The statue of Skanderbeg at the center stood proudly as a symbol of Albania’s history and identity, making the square feel truly special. What I enjoyed most was the lively atmosphere—locals and visitors alike gathering, walking, and enjoying the space. With the National History Museum, Et’hem Bey Mosque, and the Opera House all nearby, the square was surrounded by culture at every step. Skanderbeg Square was both beautiful and full of life, making it a highlight of my time in Tirana.

It’s a large empty concrete square, incredibly hot in the summer and nothing to do there. In one corner you have a fountain/ water feature. The rest of the square is surrounded by buildings, some of which are under construction. There is a statue also on one side. I parked my car in the car park below, it was the only reason I came to this square. Nothing to see and nothing to do, I suggest you don’t waste your time. If the square is one of the best and most popular tourist attractions in the city then my eyes must have missed something

Located is the absolute heart of Tirana, this is a massive, modern space that really feels like the city's central meeting point. It's an impressive feat of urban design, with its unique sloping pavement that funnels rainwater to the gardens below, and it's surrounded by many of the city's key buildings like the National Museum of History and the Palace of Culture. It's a great place to get a feel for the city's energy. However, while it's huge, it can feel a bit "naked" at times, and I agree it could use a few more attractions or points of interest within the square itself to make it feel more engaging. Great sunset view. Still, it's a vital part of the city and a must-see. Recommended 👍🏼.

So much history in this location. There’s a free walking tour available starting from in front of the opera building. It’s not a very long walking tour and mainly goes around the square so it’s perfect to learn about the history of the country even if you are not particularly mobile. There’s some fantastic architecture visible just from the square showing the recent progress made over just the last 20 years since their conversion from communism to democracy. Definitely worth a visit and the tour is free.
Alexandra C — Google review
A beautiful large square where traditions and modernity mix. You will see the theater, the famous mosaic of the national museum and a mosque. A cross between the modern side of the city with its new buildings that grow everywhere, and the historic statues and minarets. A nice square for walks and photographs, but once you see it, you move on.

Albania is very beautiful country and it's nature but in Tirana there is nothing to do here just a place to walk in the city center and the telefrik (cable car), i am recommending to discover the country in north amd south more than staying a single night in Tirana. Just pass couple of hours to see Tirana city center if you are interested it's very crowded no parking slots in most of streets.
Abdelrahman M — Google review
Skanderbeg Square is the beating heart of Tirana—an immense, open expanse that blends history, ideology, and identity into one monumental space. At its center stands the equestrian statue of Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu, Albania’s national hero, who in the 15th century united the country’s principalities and resisted Ottoman domination for over two decades. His presence, cast in bronze, exudes the stoic dignity of a man who became a symbol of independence, courage, and national pride. The scale of the square is remarkable—broad, symmetrical, and deliberately grand. It speaks of the urban planning ideals of the communist era, designed

Despite my indisputable admiration for the architect of this architectural work. In any case, I can give a good assessment at the moment when the only ART GALLERY, in Albania, has been closed for more than 5 years. And only God can know where the works of this gallery are. I hope that the tourists will be happy with the useless graffiti that they have done on the surrounding of the neverendingconstruction site. I expect to reevaluate as soon as it reopens. < if it ever reopens >

Parks
Tirana Park, also known as the Grand Park of Tirana, is a vast and tranquil public space in the heart of Albania's bustling capital. This expansive green oasis features a botanical garden, zoo, the Presidential Palace, a church, and a serene lake. It offers recreational facilities, walking paths, and shaded areas for relaxation. The park is popular for picnics and outdoor activities while also serving as a vibrant hub for cultural events.
If you need a break from the busy streets of Tirana, Lake Park is the place to go. It's quiet, green, and peaceful, with ducks and birds by the water and plenty of shady spots to relax away from the sun. Lots of locals come here for walks, jogging, or just to hang out. For me, it felt like the perfect spot to slow down, breathe, and enjoy a bit of nature in the middle of the city. The park was built in the 1950s around an artificial lake that was created by damming a stream - before that, the area was mostly fields and farmland.

Beautiful, quiet park with a lake and many trails. Amenities include toilets, benches and great views of the lake. A wonderful respite from the craziness of the big city. Highly recommended for a great walk.

A large park with an artificial lake- perfect for walking, jogging, cycling, or relaxing at a cafe or restaurant. The farther you go from the western and southern areas near the road, the more peaceful and natural it becomes.

Love the park. Great walking and running trails. Loads of cafes. Nice view around the lake. Lacking public toilets.
Elk H — Google review
This park provides a large recreational space within walking distance of the city centre. I did walk a complete circuit of the lake, but the nicest parts of the park are the north and east sections. South & West not much shade and a background of buildings rather than woods, I would avoid. Plenty of benches to sit on in shaded areas. A broad paved path runs around the lake with dense woods on the north & east sides, alot of which is unpenetrable. There are play areas, some sports areas and many Caffès/Restaurants & Kiosks. A background sound of Cicadas accompanies you on your walk.
Miles M — Google review
Really big and beautiful park. Kids have their own playground. Theres outdoor gym, basketball court. You can order fresh smoothies and sit on a bench and enjoy the view 😌

Whenever in Tirana, I adore spending my early morning and evening hours here. Perfect for walking, jogging, running, breathing and over thinking all of the problems :). Nicely arranged, clean and enlightened. When deeply inside the park, close to the lake, you will forget that you are in urban surroundings.

Namazgah Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque of Tirana, is a remarkable architectural marvel that stands as the largest mosque in the Balkans. Its construction was initiated after the end of communism to provide a central place for Muslims to gather and pray. The mosque's design seamlessly blends traditional Ottoman elements with intricate details, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship and dedication to preserving Islamic architecture.
Great Mosque of Tirana or the local name Namazgja Mosque is really attracting people to come and visit. Amazing architectural beauty, mimic many mosques in Istanbul, funded partially by Turkish government. Upon entry, there will be fountain like ablution area. Great mosque with capacity of 5000 people and the same number in the areas around. 4 nice minaret. Many bigger running after you upon entry and exit.
Abu F — Google review
An absolutely stunning piece of architecture and a true landmark for Tirana. This is the largest mosque in the Balkans, and its grandeur is immediately apparent. The design is inspired by Classical Ottoman architecture, and it's truly magnificent both inside and out, with four impressive minarets and a huge central dome. The interior is beautiful and spacious, and you can really feel the serene and welcoming atmosphere. It's a wonderful place to visit, even just to admire the incredible craftsmanship and appreciate its cultural significance for the city. Definitely recommended 👌🏼.

It the was the first time I have ever visited a mosque, and this one is quite beautiful. There are different areas for man and woman, but the guy at the door allowed my wife to go inside with me in the are that is only for man (which is the best one btw). Woman need to wear a special clothing they provide at the door, to cover the body + head. Of course this review is being done from the touristic point of view

A beautiful mosque with the most amazing architecture and calligraphy. It was lovely hearing the adhan out loud and to see the revival of Islam in Albania. I attended Jummah here which is was VERY packed both in the men and women’s section. Alhamdulillah Only downside is that they do congregation dua after Fardh salah which is bid’ah. May Allah guide us all.
Delphine B — Google review
The Namazgja Mosque is one of the most impressive architectural landmarks in Tirana. Its grand scale, elegant design, and intricate details make it not only a place of worship but also a true work of art. The white marble, beautiful domes, and carefully crafted calligraphy create a peaceful and majestic atmosphere. Even from a cultural perspective, it’s fascinating. The mosque stands as a symbol of Albania’s religious diversity and history, while also feeling modern and open. Whether you’re interested in architecture, religion, or local culture, this mosque is definitely worth a visit. There is no entrance fee, and a friendly woman at the entrance will kindly provide a headscarf for female visitors. Just keep in mind that entry isn’t permitted during prayer times, so it’s worth checking the schedule or coming outside of those hours.

Pazari i Ri, also known as the New Bazaar, is a bustling marketplace located in Zona 1, Tirana. Situated between Skanderbeg Square and Lana River, this vibrant bazaar has become a haven for food enthusiasts. Visitors can explore an array of Albanian delicacies including fresh fruits, vegetables, cheeses, olives, spices, dried fruits and raki grappa.
Seems like a modern local bazaar. Buildings are famous for their typical red and white color. We reached after dark where most of bazaar stalls were closed but found few opened selling souvenirs, nuts and fruits. The area is very crowded with many shops, restaurants and kids playgrounds. A small mosque is also there. Had our dinner at one of the restaurant there.

One of the characteristic must visit destinations in Tirana. The market is colourful, with objects and spices of all kinds. It is a rather small market with a lot of tourist and cheap stuff. You can visit it in a few minutes. The nearby restaurants look nice, but I did not enjoy the food.

I loved this bazaar very much. It is part of Tirana's culture and a wonderful place to watch the people burying there their vegetables, fruits and other things like carpets or different things. Located in the vibrant Blloku neighborhood of Tirana, Radio Bar is a popular spot among locals and visitors alike. The bar boasts a colorful and lively atmosphere, adorned with old radios, retro furniture, and vintage decor that creates a unique and quirky ambiance. It's not just the eclectic setting that draws people in; Radio Bar is also known for its excellent cocktails, traditional drinks, and a selection of European pub grub.
Love the atmosphere here. The bar is very private, quiet, cozy during the morning hours. The garden area is just so beautifully decorated; feels like home and it's such an imviting place. The coffee and service were great as well. On the other hand, Radio Bar gets as crowded as possible in the evening. The music, laughters, conversations and tasty smell of the food fills the air of the night. Such a great place to be; would definitely recommend.

I had been looking forward to coming to this bar after hearing and reading that it was a very “open” place , and the reviews were so good! However, when coming in the greeting was not what I expected. Though it is a beautiful eclectic place, the welcome didn’t match. I know that it is probably is a beautiful place to visit as many people were coming in. But I didn’t receive that welcome. Though I won’t be going back, I hope that the greetings that they give people moving forward of all backgrounds are taken into consideration.

We came here on Friday night and really love the decoration and atmosphere! The bar has classic drinks as well as local remix drinks. Unfortunately our whisky Saur really missed some power and the service we received by ordering were not so nice. In general, it is a good place to grab a drink with group of friends!

Came on a Sunday evening, early November. Several tables occupied on the enclosed porch, but not busy. Initially quiet, and we said to ourselves that music would be helpful. Not long after music did start. Cocktails were tasty. We would have stayed longer, but the service was lacking, so we went to another bar. Could have been 5 stars if we were not ignored the whole time after getting our first drink.

Definitely a cool vibe. Good music. If you don’t smoke then I suggest sitting inside. Drinks were terrific and worth the price we paid (under 10€ for the Famous Fig). We went at 5pm and quite a few tables reserved. We might’ve hassled the waiter to sit at one of those prime spots as we were not staying all night. We were there 1.5 hours and no one sat at any of the reserved spots. Seemed a little silly. Would return to try more of their extensive cocktail menu.

Oda is a traditional Albanian restaurant in Tirana that showcases the influence of Ottoman cuisine on local dishes. Housed in an authentic old house, the restaurant offers a unique dining experience with low tables and ottoman stools. The menu features a variety of typically Albanian recipes, including options for vegetarians such as stuffed eggplant and fried rice balls. Tucked away in an unmarked alleyway, Oda exudes charm with its decor adorned with garlic wreaths and vintage photographs.
Amazing traditional Albanian food. Waiters are very attentive. They have live music on the weekends so arrive early to get a table as they get very busy those days. They have a great deal where you get 3 dishes (listed on menu) for a fixed price if you want to share. I came here twice on my trip to Tirana which I usually never do. Good sign!
Josselin — Google review
A very atmospheric place, very popular and highly promoted, everyone recommends it. We really liked the atmosphere and the interesting concept of two residential buildings, with many tables in each apartment. It was packed with people, every spot was taken. Musicians walked from room to room playing traditional music. The food, however, we didn’t like at all — it was tasteless and not enjoyable. We didn’t even finish our dishes. We do not recommend this place.
Tetianа S — Google review
We had a mixed experience at this restaurant. If you’re looking for a nice, flavorful salad, I wouldn’t recommend it. Ours had zero seasoning and felt like we had to do the work ourselves as it also wasn’t cut properly. The bread was also quite dense, with more of a cake-like consistency. On the other hand, the traditional lamb was excellent — very well prepared and truly delicious. Because of this, I’d suggest going with a larger group and ordering a variety of dishes to share, which I think would make the overall experience much better. Service fee was 20%!! not the 10% that are indicated on the bill. We unfortunately only saw that when we were back at the hotel. As for the atmosphere: the traditional live music was a nice touch, but also quite loud. When the musicians were in our room, it was difficult to talk, and you could only listen. After about 10 minutes, they moved on to the next room. Overall, I’d recommend visiting if you’re looking for this kind of cultural dining experience, but be mindful of what you order and the lively atmosphere.
Tina L — Google review
The food just isn’t worth the price. I’m keeping it simple. The ambience is lovely — I’m sitting under a pomegranate tree with lemon trees in the yard, and the vibe is definitely nice — but the food is lacking. You can look at the photo of my salad before I seasoned it… it says a lot. The meat quality isn’t great either. I’ve had better homemade-style meatballs from a fast food spot. Total tourist trap. Take my word for it — skip this on
Tinesi P — Google review
We had an incredible experience! The service was excellent, the servers were very pleasant and attentive. The musicians provided us with an immersive musical performance! And to top it all off, the food we had was delicious. We highly recommend it!
Canady H — Google review
The place feels very traditional. Old cinema posters on the wall, with a nice English explanation, hand woven tablecloths that they protect with paper ones on top, very typical Albanian food. Perfect place to experience a traditional Albanian meal!

Food was delicious! We ordered the sour cream, eggplant, lamb cooked in an oven and vine leaves. We did not like the Meatballs as we found them extremely salty. Service was friendly although a little slow but we didn't mind. Atmosphere was beautiful and open in a cute courtyard with live traditional music.

Food and service absolutely perfect. It’s difficult to get the level of service and consistency of quality of food delivered that is the norm at Salt Tirana. We were in Tirana for 4 nights and ate at salt on 3 evenings ordering different food and drinks each time all were delivered beautifully presented and tasting perfectly balanced flavours. Led by knowledgeable and humorous guides, the approximately 2-hour tour covers various monuments, architecture, religious buildings, communist history, and other attractions.
Excellent tour with an amazing guide, thanks a lot Rei! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 It was a great tour! Our guide Rei did an amazing job. It was both entertaining & educational which is not limited to monuments of Tirane; it was a great introduction about history and culture of Shqipëria as a whole. Rei answered all of our questions kindly with great patience and full of knowledge. The tour made my short visit to Tiranë unforgettable. Highly recommended, excellent experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The tour was perfect! Our tour guide, "K", was amazing, his english and explanations were very easy to understand. We loved to learn about the Albanian past. He also told us about his family and that made the experience even better. Thank you very much for making our Tirana experience truly unforgettable😊

Amazing experience learning about Tirane with tour guide Clint. So passionate and informative. It was a bit long for our kids, so we peeled off slightly early. Tipped the guide and he was very grateful and honest - he said “do you realise the worth of the note you are giving me?… I did. He deserved it. We were really affected by his energy and delivery of this history tour. Such a wonderful introduction to an awesome city. Definitely do this!

Aurora was a great guide who led us through Tirana showing the history of Albania in understandable language and with a great sense of humour. Furthermore, the hotspots visited were very interesting and relevant and she had the knowledge to answer any question even if they were hard or politically visioned. I had a great time and felt that I did not want to miss out on this so a great recommendation if you want to immerse yourself in Albanian culture & history!

What a great tour! Aurora was a really excellent guide who gave us a very good insight into Albanian life and history during an excellent 2 hour walking tour in English. She was funny, insightful, knowledgeable and answered all of our questions fully. A very helpful leaflet is given out at the end with advice and recommendations plus some Albanian words to help. Highly recommended for a great insight into this amazing country!

Duff Sports Bar in Tirana offers a taste of American sports culture with its decor featuring football helmets and baseball jerseys. The bar is known for broadcasting live games, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of being in the United States. It's a popular spot for both locals and internationals to gather and enjoy the lively ambiance. The cozy yet stylish interior, extensive drink menu, and friendly staff make it a great choice for sports fans looking for a relaxed evening out.
Fantastic experience at Duff Sports Bar! The service is fast, friendly, and professional – the staff make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is unbeatable for a sports bar: great vibe, good music, and plenty of screens to catch all the games. Highly recommend to anyone looking for excellent service and an amazing sports experience!
Mats A — Google review
Super chill spot with real American sports bar vibes – perfect to catch this year’s Champions League quarter-final second legs. Big drink menu, lots of beers, good snacks, and the prices were super fair. Service was a bit slow (especially the chicken snacks took forever), but with the Champions League chaos, it was still fine. All in all: cool atmosphere, good vibes, would totally hit it up again for a game.
Yungxrist — Google review
The Duff Sports Bar is an absolute must. And not just for sports fans! The drinks, especially the cocktails, are delicious and really inexpensive for the quality (€5–6). The Belgian house beer (Duff) may not suit the average German palate, but the menu offers plenty of alternatives. The food was also very tasty and came out quickly. You pay about €5 for a burger with fries. The staff speak very good English and are extremely attentive. It’s probably the best bar we visited during our stay in Tirana. A clear 5 stars, I highly recommend!
Fliegbert S — Google review
Nice place to chill. You can choose from a long list of cocktails, signatures or classics, and they taste SO good. They have a big area outside, with a big video projector. It's not noisy at all, so you can actually talk to people without screaming. Staff are kind and polite. Definitely recommended.

Great place to watch the football, although most people were there regardless of the sport. We ordered food and beers, all very good. Mario was serving us, he was excellent. It was very busy after 9pm, so Mario booked us a table for the football. Highly recommend

I was looking for a sports bar to watch the MotoGP motorcycle race so came in here. It took them awhile to find it on their satellite, but they did and put it on just for my enjoyment! I appreciated that. The gentleman who took care of me was pleasant to deal with and I will definitely return and have some food as well.
Norm Y — Google review
Duff Sports Bar in Tirana is an absolute gem and easily my top recommendation for anyone looking to catch a game or just enjoy some social drinks with friends. This place truly hits all the right notes for a fantastic outing! The atmosphere inside is buzzing with excitement on game nights, but it never feels overwhelmingly loud – just the perfect level of energy. What really sets Duff apart, though, is its welcoming outside seating area. It's an ideal spot to relax, enjoy your drinks, and, as the user mentioned, indulge in some excellent people-watching, especially when the weather is pleasant. The staff is friendly and efficient, ensuring your glass is never empty and your experience is always top-notch. Whether you're a die-hard sports fan or just in search of a comfortable, lively place to unwind, Duff Sports Bar delivers. Highly recommended!

Probably our favourite spot in Tirana! We spent about 2-3 hours in here, sampled half the cocktail list and got food and couldn’t recommend enough. The cocktails were lovely and at 500lek very well priced. We had a bacon burger and buffalo wings and were hugely impressed with the quality and how nice they both were. As it’s a themed place we were expecting a bit of a gimmick but it was far from that and it’s a must visit if you’re in Tirana!

Historical place
Enver Hoxha's Former Residence, located in Tirana, Albania, is a preserved villa that once served as the home of the country's former communist dictator. The museum offers visitors a unique glimpse into Enver Hoxha's life and reign, showcasing his personal belongings such as his office, library, and private rooms. The residence provides an intriguing insight into Albania's recent history under Hoxha's rule.
Although once the private home of a powerful leader, today the villa stands as a beautiful piece of history—graceful, dignified, and architecturally significant. It reflects a time when even power was expressed through refined design rather than excess. The residence adds a unique character to the Blloku district, now surrounded by stylish cafes and modern life, yet still holding onto the quiet elegance of the past.

Enver Hoxha’s former residence in Tirana, Albania, is a well-preserved reminder of the country’s communist past. Located in the upscale Blloku district, the house was once off-limits to the public, as the area was reserved for high-ranking officials. While the residence itself remains closed, its presence serves as a historical landmark, surrounded by trendy cafés and shops. It’s an intriguing site for those interested in Albania’s political history and Hoxha’s legacy.

Can’t go inside or in the gardens but you can see if from the outside. Easy to look over the fence and see the architecture… nothing particularly special but interesting historically as it’s the former home of Communist Leader Enver Hoxha who ruled Albania from 1945-1985…
Alex B — Google review
Not a complete waste, but worth a walk by, the area is cute anyway. Look over the fence, nothing super fancy, pretty bland building, for a dictator. But...it is history. Interesting that the guy was the leader for 40yrs, this was his house, and there's no signage to say so anywhere. That tells you something.
Steven W — Google review
Surprising modest, no entry for tourists but interesting to view from the outside, just near my hotel

The Peace Bell, located in front of the Pyramid building, serves as a poignant reminder of historical events. It symbolizes the aftermath of pyramid schemes in Albania following the end of the communist regime in 1991. The bell is also significant for being crafted from melted bullet casings, representing the resilience and struggles during Kosovo's war against Serbian aggression. This art installation stands as a powerful testament to history and human endurance.
Peace Bell- This is an interesting monument situated near to the Pyramid, not very large, but very meaningful. This bell is a reminder of the past. It is made from gun shells spent during the unrest of 1997, when hundreds of people lost their life after the collapse of the pyramid schemes. Children of the Catholic Zadrima community gathered the shells and the monument was built. It sends out a message of peace, contrasting life with death.

Restaurant Piceri Era "Blloku" is a popular dining spot in Tirana, known for its traditional Albanian cuisine with a modern touch. The restaurant offers a wide variety of local dishes and delicacies from different regions of Albania, all prepared using traditional cooking methods to bring out the unique flavors of the cuisine. Located in the trendy Blloku area, this restaurant is a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
We came to Era because we saw good reviews online. Just like how you’re probably doing right now. I must say as soon as we entered we were greeted and seated right away. Which was nice, as we arrived straight from the airport. The food was delicious!! And the staff was super nice and understanding. They give you an English menu and an Albanian one. Which is nice. We ordered the appetiser and main together. We had the Slovakian sausage, beef meatballs with potatoes, beef casserole, Turkish sausage with pita bread and feta cheese and stuffed green peppers(picture isn’t shown). For dessert we had the tiramisu and rice pudding. I’m a bit biased as I loveeee tiramisu anyway so to me that was delcious All these dishes were spot on. Would recommend going here if you’re in Tiranë

One of the Best Traditional Restaurants in Tirana Restaurant Ira is truly a gem in Tirana and one of the best places to enjoy authentic traditional food. The lamb shanks are absolutely outstanding — a dish that everyone must try. The mutton cutlets were also amazing, packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Yes, the wait time can be a little long, but trust me, the reward is worth it — every bite is pure delight. The food here feels homely, comforting, and authentically Albanian. Located right around the corner in the heart of the Blloku/Padam district, it’s easy to find and definitely worth the visit. Highly recommend Restaurant Ira if you want to experience the very best of Tirana’s traditional cuisine.

Had a wonderful dinner here, food was great, very well presented and staff was professional. Tried the dolmates, some Albanian pie, the meatballs and lamb. All incredibly tasty. Came with a nice bottle of Albanian red which I also enjoyed. The chocolate and pistachio baklava was great, too! Make sure you have a reservation as queues can get quite long.

Great place. We wanted to try some Albania cuisine but also wanted some vegetarian options for myself. My husband enjoyed his meatballs and I enjoyed my stuffed egg plant. Really beautiful place with great atmosphere, nicely decorated with love to details. The service and food were a bit disappointing. It took long, they forgot a drink and the traditional pie did not taste fresh. I liked the music (classic rock) 🎸 There‘s a sunny rooftop terrace upstairs ☀️
Leon H — Google review
Such a unique spot — part café, part museum, part time capsule. Every corner is filled with objects from Albania’s communist past: vintage TVs, radios, uniforms, posters, traditional clothes. The atmosphere is kooky and nostalgic, the raki selection is huge, and the music was good.
Sarah G — Google review
The place wins you over with its lovely atmosphere and good drinks. They aren’t cheap, but still perfectly reasonable. The pleasant background music is worth mentioning—later in the evening it switches from light jazz to house-pop. Especially suitable for young people. However, there’s an unpleasant smell from the bathrooms/drains throughout the venue, so I’m deducting one star for that. I still recommend the place.

Cool spot but the service is really bad here - the wait staff are constantly chatting and don’t pick up on cues to come serve the guests. Bureka was decent but served cold. More of a vibes spot than anything.

The decor of this bar is stunning, with a sort of Aztec nature theme going on it’s really gorgeous. We had a few sweet cocktails from the Raki list and they were lovely, utilising clove liquor which I loved and don’t usually do. We also had a burger which despite the reviews of the food, was very tasty with a nice smokey flavour to the meat. Toptani is a bustling shopping destination in Tirana, Albania, featuring high-end retailers, restaurants, and underground parking. The pedestrianized Rruga Murat Toptani offers a charming promenade with street performers and ice cream vendors, reflecting the area's historical significance tied to the influential Toptani Family. Additionally, Toptani Castle stands as a testament to the family's legacy and houses various restaurants and artisanal shops.
Great shopping mall in the centre of Tirana. Shopping mall is well maintained. There are many shops from groceries to clothes. Few restaurants and kids club! Nice architecture and good location especially when you think about the size and population of this small city. Although it is little bit over priced, you can do shopping very easily!
Mothusi — Google review
Toptani Shopping Center is a modern, bustling mall that feels like a real hub of activity right in the heart of Tirana. The building itself is quite striking—a contemporary structure with a lot of glass and a sleek design that stands out against some of the more traditional architecture of the city. Stepping inside, you're immediately greeted by the familiar sights and sounds of a busy shopping center: the chatter of people, the music from the stores, and the enticing displays of merchandise. You'll find a wide variety of stores catering to different needs and tastes, from well-known international brands to local Albanian shops, offering everything from fashion and electronics to books and household goods. The food court is also a popular spot, offering a range of cuisines from fast food to more substantial meals, making it a convenient place to refuel during a shopping trip or just grab a quick bite. There are also comfortable areas with seating where you can take a break and people-watch. It’s definitely a popular gathering place for locals, especially younger people, and it can get quite crowded, particularly on weekends and in the evenings. While it doesn't offer any specific historical or cultural significance that you absolutely must see as a tourist, Toptani Shopping Center serves as an incredibly functional and convenient modern space. It's the perfect spot if you're looking to escape the heat or the rain, need to do some shopping, want a taste of familiar brands, or are simply curious to see a contemporary aspect of life in Tirana. It’s a standard, well-maintained mall that provides a little piece of modern urban life within the city.
Shanit R — Google review
If you are seeking a shopping experience for designer clothing and accessories, this shopping centre is an ideal destination. While the store offers a limited selection of Albanian-made products, the majority of their offerings are imported and international. I personally purchased a few items from Hugo Boss, DKNY, and Armani. However, it is important to note that the cost of my designer shopping exceeded the prices of comparable shops in London.

Nestled at the intersection of Rruga Ismael Qemali and Boulevard Deshmoret e Kombit, Checkpoint is a poignant park that serves as a reminder of Albania's complex past. Once the gateway to Blloku, an area that thrived under party elites and now pulses with nightlife, this small green space features significant historical artifacts like a section of the Berlin Wall gifted by Germany and remnants of bunkers from the communist era.
During our free walking tour one of the must visits is to a park where monuments of a suppressive system are to be viewed a piece of the Berlin Wall, a set of concrete girders taken from Spaç Prison, and a bunker making up the the memorial, one of the main symbols of the dictatorship and suppression of a by gone era.

A poignant place if you know the history. An artist who criticised the regime spending a decade and a half in work camp. This memorial commemorates the victims of the Communist regime in Albania. The memorial features a piece of the Berlin wall, a mushroom shaped bunker, and pillars from the notorious Spaç labor camp. The memorial is the work of the writer and former political dissident Fatos Lubonja and the painter Ardian Isufi. The bunker is in its original position, guarding the main entrance of the segregated residential block where the late dictator Enver Hoxha and the most senior communist officials lived from 1945-1991.
Erald H — Google review
Many post-communist era cement construction items like bunkers and art, and a genuine piece of the Berlin Wall with original graffiti still on it. Crazy times, it takes a lot to imagine what made people do these insane things while genociding.

Cocktail bar
Nouvelle Vague Tirana is a renowned cocktail bar founded by Sofokli and his brother Evis, who are known for their hospitality and influence in the bar industry. The bar pays tribute to the French film movement of the 1950s and is popular among locals for its transformation from a cafe during the day to a lively bar at night. The cocktails, made with fresh ingredients, feature fun Albanian names that add to the unique experience.
Nouvelle Vague is one of those rare places that instantly makes you feel welcome. Vibrant, colorful, and full of energy, it’s a bar that somehow manages to be both lively and laid-back at the same time. Whether it’s a busy Friday night or a quiet weekday evening, there’s always a spot waiting for you — perfect for sipping a drink and soaking in the atmosphere. The selection of drinks is impressive, with a wide range of cocktails, wines, and beers. The music is always on point — never too loud, always adding the right vibe to your evening. The decor is playful and creative, full of personality and color, making it a great place to relax or start your night out in Tirana. What truly makes Nouvelle Vague special, though, is the staff. Every time we walked in, the bartenders and our favorite waiter greeted us with big, genuine smiles — often remembering exactly what we liked to drink. It’s that kind of personal touch that turns a bar into your bar. If you’re looking for a place with soul, charm, and a warm sense of belonging, Nouvelle Vague is it.
Piotr K — Google review
Amazing cocktails at great value. The staff are very attentive and proactively explain the origins of their drinks and ingredients. Cocktail recommendations were all good, they even stopped us ordering a drink they thought was not worth it! Refreshing to see staff care about the service then just going through the motions. Good vibe, slightly quiet inside but still good atmosphere.
Pete C — Google review
Great atmosphere, the best cocktails I have tasted i Albania. You are not just having one drink here! Guys in the bar are really friendly and help through the meny and tell the history and meaning of every cocktail! Truly a great experience! Check this place out! Do not overlook this place!!
Per M — Google review
The experience cannot be faulted. The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic, the bar staff are friendly and the cocktails are unbelievably well curated and served with a thoughtful garnish and a smile. Highly recommend to anyone looking for the perfect after dinner drinks experience in Tirana.
Angus C — Google review
I went here with some friends and we absolutely loved it! The cocktails were amazing. I really liked that they used Albanian ingredients, it gave everything a local and unique touch. The guys behind the bar were super friendly and helped me choose the perfect cocktail. For me, this is definitely the best bar in Tirana
Fiori M — Google review
While roaming through Blloku searching for a nice cocktail bar, we ended up here. The atmosphere is quite nice. Especially sitting outside during a summer night. The only downside was, there was too much smoking going on. The service was spot on and the cocktails sounded very extravagant. Unfortunately, the taste was nothing special.
Dennis W — Google review
The drinks were amazing! We tried six different ones, and they were all really good. The service is just alright, though. You should totally grab a drink there sometime.
Ilia L — Google review
Absolutely amazing bar. We are on holiday from England and found our way into this bar and wow. The cocktails are gorgeous, experimental and utilise Albanian ingredients - all with a back story. The bar staff are enthusiastic and passionate for their craft which really makes a difference to the experience. I couldn’t recommend this place more! The Nou Whey was stunning, delicate and fresh - a near perfect cocktail for me.

Arenas & Stadiums
The Air Albania Stadium, also known as Arena Kombetare, is the largest stadium in Albania, boasting a seating capacity of approximately 22,500 spectators. Completed in 2019, this state-of-the-art facility serves as the home ground for the Albanian national football team and has the flexibility to host various sports events. Nestled within Tirana's vibrant cityscape, it stands out with its modern architecture and top-notch amenities.
We noticed this huge building while walking from the park, not knowing at first what it was. Once closer, it looked really massive and impressive. Later we realized it’s a stadium. Its modern architecture really stands out compared to other buildings in Tirana — you simply can’t miss it.
Svetlana M — Google review
The stadium is quite nice and spacious. The atmosphere is amazing, the only issue is the logistics of entering and exiting. The rules are quite unclear of how to properly orient yourself. Other than that the stadium is contemporary and great.
Ardesian B — Google review
New stadium with a tower, more functions and crowdy areas. I worked on the stadium implementation project, we also took students for on-site practice. The view is good in almost all sectors, access with many gates. Only the central frame of the facade has been preserved from the old stadium.
Nikolla V — Google review
I visited for Albania v Jordan friendly International. I was able to walk up to the stadium 3 days before the match and purchase a ticket . No ID was required and it cost AL 2000 for a Cat 2 ticket. The modern ground is inside an upmarket shopping mall. Once inside there is not much in way of concessions but concourse is in sight of pitch and seating (22,000) was comfortable and close to pitch. Per Albanian culture smoking was not restricted . Despite this I enjoyed my visit and Albania won 4-1
Sid M — Google review
As Albania isn't known for world class football, the stadium is quite small but looks brand new. The colour red dominates and even the fruit juice that I had to order to get a look inside was red.it's impressive but I saw it as a tourist not a sports fan.
Carol B — Google review
Good. Clean. Great dinner recommendation from the staff. They added free breakfast which was very good.

Hemingway Bar Tirana is a hidden gem in the city, offering a cozy and vibrant atmosphere with Cuban-inspired decor and authentic ambiance. Located in a quieter part of town near Skanderberg Square, it boasts over 100 types of rum as its specialty liquor and old-fashioned decor reminiscent of 1970s and 80s Albania with a bohemian twist. The bar is known for its friendly staff, delicious cocktails, and jazz music playing inside.
I am blown out of my mind how incredible this place is! The ambience is to die for! Great service from Bart and Joy!! I had a fantastic evening.
Samantha S — Google review
The atmosphere was really chill, and yes—they have a cat, which is obviously a win. Cocktails were good, no complaints there. That said, we went across the street later and the drinks and service were even better. You mostly come here for how the place looks, and that’s totally fine—it’s got the vibe
Gvido R — Google review
The atmosphere of the bar is unique and cool, but the service wasn’t exactly what we wanted to get for a fun night out. The drinks were good but we had to wait a lot and sometimes it felt like the waitresses ignoring us. All in all it is a good place to have a drink, but don’t expect to have a super kind service.
Hanna H — Google review
Stepping into the Hemingway Bar feels less like entering a bar and more like discovering an amazing records collection. A vast choice of liqueurs. The atmosphere is bohemian and captivating. Welcoming warmth and great vibes.
Sabino “ — Google review
Great vibe on a Saturday night. Fairly crowded but the servers and bartenders were doing a good job of keeping up with orders. Drinks were really nice, served in nice glasses and tasted good. We had scotch and sodas, gin and tonics and mojito. Some olives and snacks were offered free if charge. Good music vibe all night. Outdoor seating and smoking available. No smoking inside which was great. Seemed to be cash only.
Elk H — Google review
Hemingway in Tirana is pure magic. The moment you walk in, the cozy yet stylish vibe wraps around you like a warm hug. The cocktails are crafted like art and every corner feels like it has a story to tell. Obsessed with the little details—the lighting, the music, the energy—it’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger, laugh, and soak it all in. A true Tirana gem where every visit feels cinematic. My absolute favorite place in Tirana💛

Cocktail bar
Colonial Cocktails Academy Tirana is the city's first cocktail bar, boasting an impressive collection of 600-1000 bottles of liquor. The digital drink menu resembles a newspaper and features a wide array of delectable cocktails, such as Sweet Dreams and Margharita Calabrese. The bar offers two distinct areas - an interior adorned with Buddhist statues and Asian-inspired decor, as well as a charming terrace outside.
Absolutely best bar in Tirana! The cocktail menu is stunning, and everything we got tasted delicious, and the size was great. They have a big outside terrace which is great, you don’t have to stay too close to other people. The service was fast, and the presence of a security guy at the entrance is a big plus that helps avoiding badly educated people.
Linda A — Google review
The place is beautiful, with lots of thoughtful details that make it special. However, the experience was not entirely pleasant. The person at the entrance was quite rude; we visited the restaurant on Saturday, October 12, 2024, and frankly, someone with such bad manners shouldn't be the first impression a customer gets at a place that puts so much effort into its appearance. When we asked for the bill, it was presented in a confusing way: part printed and part handwritten, which seemed suspicious. Upon reviewing it, we noticed we were being overcharged and had to complain. This left a bad impression regarding the transparency of the service. As for the food and drinks, the cocktails were the highlight of the night. We had four, and one of them, which is supposedly in the "top 5," was really excellent. However, the charcuterie and cheese board was very disappointing, with low-quality products, and the eggplant dish was just average. Something else that caught my attention was the responses to reviews. Many of them have an unprofessional tone, and it seems like the manager doesn't handle criticism well, even if it's constructive. That attitude says a lot about the management of the place and, in my opinion, is quite off-putting.
Anna G — Google review
I really like this place. We always sit at the bar and theres a bartender who is always incredibly welcoming and truly talented at what he does. This time we went with his cocktail recommendations and they were honestly some of the best I have ever tried perfect and full of flavor. The vibe here is always great. It’s like our comfort place that we always return when we want to have a good time and amazing cocktails. Big thanks to the bartender for always making amazing drinks and for creating such a welcoming experience every time we visit. I will always return to this place.
Fjonida — Google review
Was recommended to visit by Hilton, however was met at the entrance by a bouncer who categorically refused us entry purely because we looked like tourists. After finding a much friendlier bar reviews showed similar experiences that tourists are not welcome here. Try Nouvelle Vague Tirana instead, which is 2min on the same street. An electric atmosphere and one of a kind cocktail experience. Bonus their staff are super friendly too.
Anatoly V — Google review
The cocktail menu is simply amazing! It’s designed like a newspaper and offers a truly huge selection. The atmosphere is gorgeous, everything is top-notch.
Petr S — Google review
Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, wide selection of drinks. We enjoyed here the start of Saturday night. Some remarks: italian meals in menu, one restroom cabin for men, one for women. Beer only in bottles, 3 types, wine selection also rather very limited. The place is focusing on cocktails, drinks, and shots. For non smokers, it is more convenient to stay inside. All in all, we enjoyed our visit. Recommended.
Lubomir K — Google review
Crowded, vivid, cool place to have a drink or cocktail after dinner. Amazing variety of cocktails, you might feel overwhelmed, but ask the staff and they will help you choose according to your taste. As usual in Tirana on a weekend night, it was crowded but they were able to fit us in a corner, with enough room to enjoy the drinks. There’s a terrace outside, so people don’t smoke inside, which is great. Staff if awesome!
Hugo C — Google review
Wow, experience in Tirana city! Amazing cocktails at a great price with good service. We arrived here after walking thru the city on a hot hot day, and Colonial totally stood up to all the hype. We had rum, vodka, and gin based cocktails. Everything was great. The bar ambience made it memorable.
