OZEANEUM Stralsund GmbH is a modern marine museum located in Stralsund, focusing on the Baltic and North Seas. It was voted European Museum of the Year in 2010 and attracts over half a million visitors annually. The interactive exhibition offers educational experiences suitable for children, featuring display boards, models, and live fish in various aquariums. The aquarium also provides scenic views of the Old Town and St. Nicholas Church from its location on the harbor.
Went there around 80 minutes before closing, and I had just enough time to go through everything in the museum. I paid 14 euros for my ticket, and what I got for that price was justified. Would recommend!

I recommend it, very modern, well structured and easy to visit. If you want to see it in detail, it is ideal to allocate about 2-3 hours. The adult ticket costs 18 euros, for those aged between 17-24 a discount of 4 euros is applied. It is also beautiful outside.

The oceanarium is an incredibly educational place. The whole family was delighted with it. You can admire live animal specimens there, as well as learn interesting facts about the Baltic Sea. The entrance fee is not low, but it's worth it.

It's a BIG museum with lots to learn about the earth and its oceans. The audio guide is very thorough with an option to read instead of listen and audodescription for the visually impaired. And the fishes are obviously beautiful.
It’s a nice aquarium. On a rainy day in the summer it’s of course pretty crowded and also not great regarding air ventilation ;-)

For a modern oceanarium I would expect more larger aquariums and less boring exhibitions. No interactive elements. A bit disappointing.

Gorch Fock I is a restored and seaworthy rigged sailing ship that serves as a floating museum and events venue. Launched in 1933, it has a rich history as a sail training ship for German naval forces and later used by the Soviet Navy until 1990. Now permanently anchored in Stralsund's harbor, visitors can board the impressive old vessel to explore its storied past.
I visited quite early in the day before going for a walk along the waterfront. 4 euro entry fee per person was very much worth it. The staff were friendly and informative. The information was interesting and clear and easy to read.

The three-masted Gorch Fock I is an impressive sight, and standing on its deck felt like stepping into another era. The nearby harbor promenade and the view of the sea strait made the experience even more special. Really interesting attraction! A must-see in Stralsund. Unfortunately several parts of the ship are under renovation so we didn’t get to visit them... but other than that it was worthwhile.

St. Mary's Church, or Die Marienkirche, is a stunning 14th-century red-brick marvel located in Stralsund, Germany. This architectural gem showcases the beauty of Brick Gothic style and features an impressive bell tower that rises to 104 meters. Inside, visitors are greeted by a bright and inviting atmosphere with its pristine white walls and beautifully crafted altar. Amazing view from the top! Only 2€ for students to enter the roof and only 360 stairs to the top! Bring a water bottle and be ready to lose some calories, it is worth it for the view :)

I learned a lot about the role Sweden played here in the 17th and 18th centuries - stuff we never covered in school...
Came here to to see the amazing Hiddensee find. I is now clear (2021), that the gold treasure was about 1/6 of the original treasure found in Harold Bluetooth grave 1841.

Aber man findet auch Ecken in der Altstadt, die zugebaut wurden und früher viel mehr Charme hatten. St. Nicholas' Church, Stralsund, also known as Nikolaikirche, is a Gothic church built in the 14th century and is located behind the Old Market Square. St. Nicholas Church (German: Nikolaikirche) is the oldest of the three major parish churches of Stralsund in Germany. It was dedicated in 1279 to Saint Nicholas of Myra, the patron saint of sailors. The park was beautiful and had many different animals. However, it is clear that the parks intent is to have as many different animals as possible, and that they don’t put enough thought into animal welfare.
Especially the wild animals like wolves, lions and the king eagle had way too little space, and seemed apathy and unhappy.

The zoo is amazing! I put one star to focus attention only on condition of OCELOT, it's cage is really small, dirty and seems very unpleasant, the Ocelot it's self is very depressed 😞😞😞, staring at the ground, laying and shivering with obvious signs of being either sick or really deeply depressed. Please share it in order to put attention to it's conditions!

I thoroughly enjoyed the variety of options available at Fischbrötchenkutter Anja. The staff was extremely friendly, and the food was outstanding. Anyone who complains about the prices is out of touch with reality in my opinion. The value for money at this restaurant is definitely acceptable. I also appreciated its location, which is conveniently situated by a private yacht harbor.

Very nice place for a quick sea food meal. Everything is fresh and delicious. I had a traditional Bismarckhering (in a bun), kids ate fish and chips and my husband had backfisch. You eat outside here, next to water and the marine. If you like this kind of local climate, you’re gonna like it too.

Es kostet 5 Euro pro Person (Erwachsene) und schon kann man loslegen. Eine Wendeltreppe aus rotem Backstein führt recht eng nach oben, man sollte eine gute Lunge haben, aber der Aufstieg lohnt sich.
Mit einigen kurzen Pausen (es geht nur rauf), es war kaum besucht, ist man im oberen Teil des Backsteingebäudes angekommen. Da hat man schon die erste Möglichkeit um Fotos zu machen von Stralsund. Ab da steigt man dann ist das Gebälk des Turms auf. Recht steile Holztreppen führen immer weiter nach oben, aber stehts nur in eine Richtung, es ist alles (bis auf die letzte Leiter) Einbahnstraße. Im Glockenturm selbst sieht man die alte Holzkonstruktion und man fragt sich, was diese Mauern und Holzbalken schon alles erlebt und "gesehen" haben müssen. Beeindruckend !!!Man braucht gute Kondition, aber man wird ganz oben mit einem herrlichen Ausblick über Stralsund (Altstadt) belohnt. Ich kann jedem diesen Aufstieg nur ans Herz legen. Dazu muss ich noch erwähnen, die Frau an der Kasse war sehr nett und herzlich.

One of the best museums I’ve been to. It is modern, and the design of the whole exhibition and museum is very interactive and inclusive.
The entire museum is in an old church. This probably the best use of a church that I have ever seen. There are a large amount of exhibits and just when you think it's over they have an impressive exibit of aquariums in the basement. It displays all things related to fish, whales, fishery, and ocean research, and also has some nice live fish swimming around in huge aquariums. The whale-room is the coolest. Great place to visit with kids, there are a couple of learn/play area within the museum to keep kids occupied along the route. Our 3YO learnt about Sea Creatures and Sea transportation 👍🏻

The Störtebeker Braumanufaktur is a historical brewery from 1827 that offers brewery tours, sommelier events, and tastings. The factory is huge, and a brewery tour costs just 15 eur per person. Our guide took as through all parts if the factory, and we had a tasting at the end. Great experience! Make sure to book the tour, and reserve a table for dinner at their restaurant!

Amazing experience! My daughters were shown how to print with the old machines and they had a blast. Super friendly and helpful staff. My daughters want to come back to Stralsund to come to the Spielkartenfabrik one more time :)
The museum is rather functional typesetting/printing workshop aimed at preserving traditional techniques. Although this interactive exposition is not a typical exhibition, we were very warmly welcomed and we have learned a lot about the technology and we had got appropriate answers to our questions (in excellent English). We encourage all who are interested in the "know-how" experience to visit this special exhibition.
An amazing working factory with passionate people who give old machines a second life. The exhibition is astonishing, all the ancient engineering inventions still work and you can see the process of how cards used to be made and are still produced here. A monument to craftsmanship 🖤

I was not sure what to expect from going here, but so glad I made the trip. It was an unusual experience in all of the best possible ways. This is an operating factory but they allow the public to walk all around the machines and get very close to the equipment. You won't get this in many other places.

Ganz tolles kleines Museum was vorallem kostenlos ist. Eine Spende sollte daher selbstverständlich sein!! Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr aufmerksam und nett. Besonders der Tipp mit der Kantine um die Ecke war mehr als gold wert. Hier sollte man sich schnell für kleines Geld was zu essen holen und dann auf dem Picknickplatz mit Blick auf die Werft essen.
