Restaurant
Schiffergesellschaft, located in a historic former guildhall in Lubeck, offers a taste of traditional German cuisine and beers in a setting adorned with model ships. The restaurant is steeped in the city's seafaring history, originally serving as an association for ship captains during the early days of commercial maritime trade. Over time, it has evolved into a modern eatery while preserving its historical charm.
What a nice place to have a cozy and romantic lunch or dinner. Really beautiful and charming. If in Lübeck, i will for sure come back. It is also the perfect place to impress someone.
L. P — Google review
A truly cozy and authentic place where history comes alive—massive model ships hanging from the ceiling, ancient paintings, and religious icons on the walls all add to an atmosphere that elevates both the meal and the experience. We had a wiener schnitzel and a rump steak—both well-prepared and enjoyable. The potatoes were just right, and the vegetables were fresh and flavorful. The schnitzel could have used a bit of sauce and maybe some extra greens on the side, though I’m sure that’s not part of the original recipe. Service, however, was a highlight! Our sharp and energetic waitress brought a great vibe to the evening and made us feel right at home. Definitely a spot I’d recommend to first-time visitors in Lübeck or anyone looking to soak up a bit of that classic German charm.
Christian W — Google review
I had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant in Lübeck! The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and perfectly balanced between cozy and stylish. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor — clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy great food in a lovely ambiance!
Emre E — Google review
Historic building with quite delicious food. Children meal has vegetables with like strong curry spices, that wasn’t delicious to them, portions are small. Fish was ok, mustard sauce wasn’t my favourite. Steak was delicious, fried potatoes too. Chanterelle and potatoe soup was tasty, but very small size. Bread was the usual, not home made, neither warm. Prices are quite high for what you get. Overall nice experience but better not to have high expectations for food.
Raminta K — Google review
A “posh” place with history. Need to book in advance as it’s quite occupied in rush hours. I highly recommend its Labskaus which is the best that I tried in Hamburg and Lübeck. It’s kinda costy as you can easily spend over €50 per person. But still, excellent food and vibe!
Huixin Z — Google review
Great food, lovely staff (who also speak English) and amazing decor. Worth a try.
Brett S — Google review
If you’ve travelled to Lübeck like me to soak in as much medieval fairytale vibes as you can, then a visit to Schiffergesellschaft is a must. This is a preserved and restored Shipmaster/ Seaman/ Captains Guildhall from 1535. The menu comes with a historical overview of this guild and how it survives to this day. The interior is simply medieval maritime charm. I tried my first Labskaus here - a traditional north german dish for fisherman made with corned beef mashed with potatoes and beets, served with a sunny fried egg and classically accompanied with pickles, pickled herring, onions and beets. I loved it. My main I ordered something off their specials menu, Plaice Finkenerder style. Bacon crisped up and rendered, the fat is then used to cook the bed of cabbage and a tender plaice fillet crisped to perfection. It’s accompanied by parsley potatoes - simple and delicious. I enjoyed it all with a light beer. I hope to visit again someday!
Sarah H — Google review
This is such a fantastic place. Restaurant serving typical North German fare in a setting that couldn't be better suited. The house used to house the Shipowners Guild. Good qualify food. A bit pricey, although by no means extreme. And taking in the atmosphere, friendly service and quality and quantity of food you get - it is warmly recommended.

When in the city, a visit to Café Niederegger - Stammhaus is a must. Located behind the Town Hall, this renowned establishment offers a delightful experience for visitors. The shop boasts hand-crafted marzipan fruits and figurines, along with captivating displays such as a model of the Hanseatic town and intricate sculptures.
If you're visiting Lübeck, a stop at Café Niederegger - Stammhaus is an absolute must, especially if you have a sweet tooth or a love for marzipan. This historic café, located in the heart of the city, is famous worldwide for its exquisite marzipan creations, and it truly lives up to its reputation. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the delicious aroma of freshly baked pastries and a stunning display of marzipan treats in all shapes and sizes. From intricately shaped fruits and figures to classic marzipan bars covered in chocolate, it's like walking into a candy lover's dream. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with old-world charm and elegant décor that reflect the café's long-standing history. We decided to start with a slice of their legendary marzipan nut cake, and it was heavenly. The combination of rich marzipan, nuts, and a soft, moist cake layer was perfect — not overly sweet but full of that distinctive almond flavor that Niederegger is known for. Paired with a cup of their freshly brewed coffee, it was a delightful treat that left us wanting more. The upstairs café offers a cozy place to sit and enjoy a variety of cakes, pastries, and, of course, more marzipan creations. The service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and eager to share the history of Niederegger, which has been crafting marzipan since 1806. We also took a quick visit to the Marzipan Museum on the second floor, where you can learn about the origins of marzipan, see life-sized marzipan figures, and get a glimpse of how these sweet treats are made. Before leaving, we couldn't resist picking up a few souvenirs from the shop on the ground floor. The beautifully packaged marzipan makes for a perfect gift, capturing a piece of Lübeck's history and culinary tradition. In summary, Café Niederegger - Stammhaus is more than just a café; it's a Lübeck institution. Whether you're a fan of marzipan or simply looking for a charming spot to enjoy coffee and cake, this café offers a unique experience that's hard to find anywhere else. A true gem for anyone visiting Lübeck!
A F — Google review
A highly recommended place by all the guidebooks, described as the oldest and most delicious cafe, but it was quite a disappointment. The products in the store were tasty, but the souvenirs were ridiculously expensive. The cafe itself was decent, but the waiting time was insane — 15 minutes just to have someone take our order, and another 15 minutes to bring the bill. The service was lacking, and nothing exceptional stood out. The building is beautiful, though, and the interior is nice.
Roman T — Google review
Nice cafe, main store of the popular German brand of marzipans. Not the cheapest, and products cost the same in a supermarket and that should not be the case. Long queue to pay. Nice selection of cakes to enjoy in the cafe, you select the one you want from the display, they give you a ticket and then when you order from the waiter they will bring the cake.
JR S — Google review
Café Niederegger is a great place to stop when visiting Lübeck. It’s right on the main street and easy to find. The cakes are delicious. prices are a bit higher, but worth it. You can enjoy coffee, buy gifts, and visit the small marzipan museum upstairs. A fun and tasty stop in the city.
Thidarat P — Google review
Lovely Café This café in Lübeck is a charming spot with a relaxing atmosphere and cosy décor. If you're lucky, you might get a seat by the window, which is perfect for enjoying the beautiful view of Lübeck’s Rathaus while you relax with a drink or cake. They offer a wide variety of cakes, and honestly, it’s hard to choose just one! I went for the peach passion fruit cake (Pfirsich-Maracuja-Torte), a club sandwich and a hot chocolate. The cake was fresh, light, and not too sweet — just right. The savoury food was fine but nothing too special, so unless you're very hungry, I’d say skip it and focus on the desserts. What really stood out to me was the hot chocolate — rich, creamy, and topped with real chocolate shavings. It’s a great choice for those who don’t want coffee or chocolate cake but still want a sweet treat. Even on a weekday afternoon (around 1:30 pm), the café was quite busy, which shows how popular it is. Despite the rush, the staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Lübeck!
H M — Google review
A must-visit for any Marzipan or sweet-tooth lover. I tried their famous marzipan cheesecake, which was a true delight - creamy, rich, and with that distinct marzipan flavour that Niederegger is renowned for. Although a bit pricey for the small slice (around €6-8), the experience of enjoying a slice in this historic café is worth it. The elegant, traditional setting of the café, with its marzipan-filled displays, makes it a must-visit. Be sure to check out the marzipan museum too (free of charge) one floor above, to learn more about what they are popular for.
Vikash P — Google review
It's 💯 lovely, but visit in the morning to avoid crowds. Very friendly and fast stuff. Delicious Marzipan in all varieties.

Unbelievable selection of marzipan. Café was busy and a little chaotic. Not the best of service. The black forest tart was pretty good!

Beer hall
Nestled in the charming city of Lübeck, Brauberger zu Lübeck is a vibrant brewery that beautifully marries traditional German cuisine with an impressive selection of craft beers. This bustling establishment boasts a cozy cellar and inviting outdoor tables, making it an ideal spot for both locals and travelers seeking a hearty meal after exploring the medieval streets.
It's a good place. I was recommended to go there by my local friends. They have a good selection of craft beers. And traditional meat dishes. I had the schnitzel with mushroom sauce. I'd be happy to come back, especially for the beer.
Peter J — Google review
The initial welcome from one staff member was not so warm as we didn't have a reservation, it felt like we were an inconvenience. We sat happily in the beer garden, lucky to be under an umbrella and out of the rain unlike some other tables. Once seated the food, drink and service were good.
Katy W — Google review
A traditional pub with good kitchen in the center of the city. The staff is untrained and uninterested. We were served beer twice as the waiters are not coordinating their work. The basement is touristy with replicas of historical objects. The kitchen closes at 10. No food after that. Small garden but lot of places inside on 3 levels.
Andrea P — Google review
The waitress was the best, the food was very, very good. I would definitely come back. The restrooms were clean, as was the rest of the establishment.
Steve S — Google review
Very nice restaurant. Have their own beers, all very good. Good food. Cool interior. Friendly and helpful staff.
Geir R — Google review
A good place to try delicious craft beer and national dishes. Be prepared for the fact that the dishes are very large, the waiters are not too hasty and the kitchen closes about 1.5 hours before the establishment closes. prices are normal.
Google review
A popular bar, recommend to book in advance. Food is ok but not exactly impressive. The goulash soup was quite salty. I have a feeling that this place is understaffed as it takes ages to get the waiter.
Huixin Z — Google review
We have been coming here for the last 15 years. Over the years the quality of the food has been declining. This time was the worst. The schnitzel Wiener Art was really dry and almost looked like is was not home made and some of the fried potatoes were not even cooked through properly. All of us were really disappointed. This was the last time we will visit unfortunately.

Fangfrisch is a modern restaurant in Lubeck that follows a simple philosophy of serving fresh regional seafood cuisine. The cafe offers a delightful seafood feast with an interior featuring rustic wood tables, traditional brick walls, metro tiles, and pendant lighting. They use fresh fish from Travemunde and buns from Lubeck to prepare the perfect North German fish roll.
Great food. I loved the salmon burger. The fish and chips looked great. They had their own pilsner and locally made sodas. The staff was really nice and friendly, he even made a few jokes. The decor was alright, I don't really like the pipe theme but I know a lot of other people do. If you like fish this is a great place to eat! -Roberts Kalejs Plenty of space and right by the docks

A great restaurant by the Untertrave river. Great quality food, well presented dishes, excellent service and environment. They also have good drinks and even produce some of the alcohol themselves. I've had other good dishes there, but the Salmon Burger is specially good! Totally recommend.
Andre — Google review
I found this place by chance, no Google, no recommendations. It was pure luck that I came to this temple of food. Everything looked so amazing that I decided to take all their appetizers to try more. And it was a good choice! It's not the cheapest place, but really MONEY WORTH!!! Do You like fish and/or seafood? Than You definitely have to come here! APPROVED 💕
J S — Google review
Great seafood restaurant on Lübeck's waterfront, serving classic regional dishes with a modern twist. Staff is very friendly and attentive, and the place has a nice atmosphere. Can get quite busy, so make sure to reserve a table in advance.
Felix B — Google review
A popular fish place. I came at 17:30 and managed to get a table without reservation. Staffs are friendly. I ordered a nordic starter with Kiel fish, cod & chips and a small beer and it costed €50. The dishes are fine but I would expect better considering the price. They provide vinegar too for the fish & chips (in case you want it as UK style.. like me). Btw, they have a take away place across the street as well.
Huixin Z — Google review
Amazing place and team. Great food - they even allow you to share a plate. You will like it highly recommended!
Al K — Google review
Good vibes, the staff is very cool and prompt. Food (espcially the fish) is interesting and aromatic. Good beers. Recommend it. Slow service though. But it s a nice place.
Victor I — Google review
The battered fish is really good. It changes how I think about fish and chips! I was initially like "Fried fish? Everybody can do that!", and after I took a bite "Holy. This is so good. The fish is juicy, is not fishy, and so flavorful!" I agree with other comments that the price on the steep side, but I am glad the food performance met the high expectation from the high price. Good job!

So I took a chili burger and it's the best burger I've ever eaten in Germany. I visited this place a couple of times and the food was exceptional every time, house made fries are also very delicious, service is very nice, atmosphere is great and very chill. It can be hard to get a table on weekends without a reservation but that really speaks more about the overall quality of the place. There is no such thing as German food really so if you're nearby anyway get a burger and go walk around beautiful Lübeck happy and with a full stomach. 😁 (Around 20 euro per person)

I’ve been living in Germany for almost 7 years and this is straight THE best burger by all means. I had the Crunchy Beef and my bro got a Cheese Burger and both were exceptional. Also the juices were truly amazing too - we got Red Ginger and Green Ginger and we were like WWOOOOWWW from the first sip to the very last. Totally give this place a try if you visited Lübeck. A 10/10 from my side.

This restaurant is an absolute must-visit in Lubeck. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a refreshing shot of juice, bursting with fresh flavors. Their Mozzarella Burger is a culinary delight, perfectly grilled and paired with an explosion of flavors. And don't miss out on the avocado fries, their crispy texture and creamy dip with Parmesan cheese creating a harmonious symphony of taste. If you're a juice enthusiast, this place will have you hooked. And to top it all off, the background music is pleasant and at a moderate volume, allowing for engaging conversations with your dining companions.

Nice place to eat good burguers and smoothies. They receive you with a fruitful small shot. The place is comfortable to come with friends or family. German restaurant
Lübecker Kartoffelkeller is a historic restaurant located in a Gothic cellar beneath the Heiligen-Geist-Hospital. It offers traditional North German cuisine and delicious potato dishes in a cozy and rustic atmosphere. The restaurant features a lovely vaulted ceiling and also has outdoor seating available during the summer months. Known for its generous portions of tasty German food, it can get quite busy due to its popularity among locals and tourists alike.
We travel to Lübeck from America every year and the end of our trip is always capped off with a visit to the Kartoffelkeller. The food and atmosphere is always top notch but our most recent visit today was the best by far. It's our understanding that the restaurant is now under new management and we had the most excellent service from Mandy & Miri today. They were so gracious and attentive and we are already looking forward to next year's visit. Cheers from Ohio!

Dining in a cellar was super cool! The restaurant is located right next to or attached to the Hospital of the Holy Spirit. The cellar is well decorated with paintings and chandeliers. The service staff are really nice even though they cant really speak in English. The pan fish was simply divine! The fish was fresh and silky paired with chunky mash potato. The vegetables on the top add a nice freshness to cut through the heaviness of the creamy sauce and oily fish. Also ordered herring with potato pancakes. The pancakes were good but really heavy, so it works well with the pickles and other pickled vegetables. The dark beer was really good! Very light with a hint of caramel and malt notes at the end - the aftertaste was a lot like rooibos. If you like beer but you arent a fan of the bitterness, this is a great choice! Overall a great experience, highly recommend!

It's really atmospheric place in traditional basement, German food in the menu. they are famous for dishes with or from the potatoes. big potato - vegetarian option was good, but dry a little, not enough souce. baked potatoes with ham was great 👍 schnitzel was ok, huge but a little bit dry. I recommend to visit this restaurant. polite and fast service, good atmosphere🤌

Excellent food! Long wait. We arrived around 5pm, where only 2 others were in the restaurant. And we still had to wait nearly 45 minutes for our food to arrive, after ordering it. While waiting, a family of 4 came in, ordered their food, got it and nearly finished eating before ours came. Our waiter served the family, sitting right next to us, and didn't even glance at us or tell us to have patience for our food. When I asked for the bill, nearly 10 minutes went by before I could pay. So the place is Cosy, the food is excellent, but the waiting time could be better. Would not eat there at rush hour.

We got the Bayern Schweinhaxe and they were really delicious and crispy. But it's not just the food, the service ladies were super super nice! They kept asking if we need anything else and even chatted with us. Makes the whole dining experience heartwarming. Highly recommend it. BTW the haxe only serves on Friday and Saturday and needs to be booked ahead.

Probably one of the best place with super German cuisine in Lubeck (or at least what I found so far 🙌🏻). You won’t definitely leave the place hungry - whatever you order the portions are very solid and tasty! My friend couldn’t finish her meal so we need to ask for take away 😀 Atmosphere at this restaurant is also magical, it is the basement so the interior is also one of a kind. What we experienced that this place gets really quickly busy, so that’s also a good sign 🥘🍲 thank you so much and see you next time 🙌🏻

A delightful restaurant with a traditional feel supported by very friendly staff who take care To look after you very well. The food was delicious with a choice of traditional and modern. We had the traditional Grunkohl with fried potato. It was exceptional. Highly recommend this venue.

A historical restaurant with traditional food ☺️ we ordered schnitzel and the Mediterranean side dish was so savory!
Nafise A — Google review
The food was ok but not great. The baked potatoe was the most highly rated in our family. Some other dishes were cold. We were put off by the fact that special wishes cost 1€ extra. The waitresses were also not willing to put 2 tables next to each other for our larger group although there would have been enough space. Toilets were clean. The best part about the place is the building and ambience.
Petra N — Google review
We went to the Ratskeller Lübeck for lunch on Saturday, it was a warm welcome and we were shown to the "Klookschietereck". A room full of history, just like the rest of the Ratskeller. The two waitresses were very friendly and accommodating and answered all of our tourist questions. When we got our food, we were amazed at the portion sizes. We thought we'd ordered the family portions. 😅 There was the "Schweinerei" and the "Eisbein Berliner Art". After that we had to have a schnapps so that we could continue our visit to Lübeck. On recommendations, there was the homemade herbal liqueur 😋 Should we come back to Lübeck and feel hungry, we would be happy to come back.

Unpleasant place with unfriendly service Was placed in a small enclosed cabin with old black and white photographs of Thomas Mann and Buddenbrook House on the walls. Pretty depressing! Didn't know what a 'Scholle' was but the waiter couldn't translate into English and there was no internet access in the Ratskeller. Asked for fries instead of braised potatoes but was told I could not change the dish. The fish was burnt on one side, but when I told the already very unfriendly waiter, she just turned on her heel and left! Not a restaurant I would recommend, neither for the interior, the food nor the service.

An excellent Keller (Celler) near Rathaus Lübeck. The traditional ambiance has been well maintained along with an exhaustive beer and wine selection. Although, kitchen closes little early yet it leaves lot of time for enjoying beer and wine.

Great service, classic deco and ambient. Food is okay but I only tried one dish from the menu. (Kitchen time was a bit too short, there were lots of guests coming ca 8 pm and their kitchen is already closed.)

Nestled in the heart of Lübeck's Old Town, just a stone's throw from the bustling Marktplatz, lies the enchanting Zimmermanns Lübecker Hanse. This charming restaurant invites you to indulge in traditional German dishes reimagined with a modern flair. The warm ambiance, characterized by dark wooden interiors and cozy seating, creates an inviting atmosphere perfect for any dining experience.
One of those happy occasions when you’re looking forward to eating at a restaurant and it exceeds your expectations. For me, this was the best dining experience I had on my recent visit to Germany. Good ingredients, of the season and region, cooked and presented with skill. The service was exceptional. It was formal but relaxed and friendly at the same time. I’ll definitely come back to Lübeck in the summer and will definitely come back here.

If you're in the mood for some Italian cuisine, Miera is the place to be. Not only does this restaurant serve up delicious food, but you can also purchase some of your favorites to take home with you. In addition, Miera has a lovely courtyard in summertime where you can relax after dinner.
Great place for dinner!!!! Out back in the garden is a fantastic spot. The only problem was the lack of air movement. And being tight for my mother in law to push her walker around. Food was really really good!!! Had the lamb lasagna!!! Fantastic!! The only little problem with the service was the lack of enthusiasm. Almost like a mute processional robot.

Loved the atmosphere of this place—elegant, warm, and cozy. Very nice and friendly service. We had crispy shrimps 🦐, which were absolutely delicious, and burrata 🧀, which was okay, as our appetizers. For the main dish, I got pea and mint stuffed ravioli 🥟 — loved it. My friend had pappardelle 🍝, but the pasta was unevenly cooked — some parts were al dente while others were soft. Overall though the experience was pleasant :>

Today we visited your bar for the first time. I had been eyeing it during my vacation, and we finally decided to stop by for a glass of wine and a snack. We initially ordered the artichokes with pesto verde, and my husband ordered the garlic baguette. The waiter asked if he wanted it with or without pesto, and we clearly said WITHOUT. Later, it turned out we were served sourdough bread instead of a baguette. Apparently, there’s just sourdough bread with or without pesto – we were not heard, but we didn’t bother mentioning it anymore. Then my artichokes arrived – without pesto. They were simply fermented artichokes with spices (the pink peppercorns were really overpowering – not a fan). Later, I reread the menu and saw it clearly said pesto verde. I asked the waiter about it, and he said: “There’s not supposed to be pesto. It’s artichokes that taste like pesto.” That’s when I completely lost it. I clarified that when people read pesto verde they will expect actual pesto, not just some kind of pesto flavour (which, by the way, I didn’t taste at all – and I’ve been working as a chef for over 6 years, so I was starting to think I was going crazy). Then on the bill, we saw a completely different artichoke item at a different price (thank you for that, really, because I nearly choked at the thought of paying full price for something I didn’t receive – and on top of that, being told it’s supposed to taste like pesto? Much appreciated). At the end, my husband asked for the bill (note: no one asked how we’d like to pay), and later our dear waiter approached us with a wallet. When we said we’d pay by card, he responded – with an annoyed tone – “Well then, come with me to the register.” My husband later told me there was a mobile terminal all along. So now I’m left wondering: what’s going on with your staff’s communication skills? Somehow it felt like we were the ones at fault – but no, that’s absolutely not the case. I’m thoroughly disappointed with the service and how my last evening in the beautiful city of Lübeck turned out. I’ve seen amazing hospitality everywhere else I’ve been here – but this was a total letdown. It’s long overdue to understand: it doesn’t matter who walks into your place or how much they spend – you should always be a friend to your guests. That’s what hospitality is about. I truly wanted to end my evening on a joyful, sparkling note over a couple glasses of prosecco, but I ended up heading back to my hotel, drinking in the lobby bar where kind people work – and writing this unpleasant review. By the way, the bread was actually excellent.

Fantastic inner yard where we dined, my tagliatelle with chanterelles that got covered with 70 month parmigiano directly in the parmesan wheel was to die for! Everything was cooked to perfection with great care of the foods.

Service was good and the order came fast. It’s a nice environment and the tables outside under the sun makes it a nice experience. Nice thing is that you can order from the two different restaurants at the same place, Miera and the one of the handmade pasta in front of it. Sauce was delicious, meat was juicy and soft, and the pasta was delicious! Tip for the establishment: allow customers to tip employees with card payment. The staff make a good job 👍🏼 Offer also a printed menu. Your website is nice but as you have too many options it’s bot nice to look for it on the phone as the letters are too small. Poor elderly customers.

Cute, yet deceptively large restaurant in the city center. Reservations are recommended but I always seem to get lucky just walking in. In and outside dining with the owner fluttering about checking in on tables and keeping the energy up. Food is delicious and super fresh, just finished my 2nd time there and next time I’m in lübeck I’ll make it my 3rd.

Really amazing experience. Private space is always appealing for me. Food was very delicious, This was a vegan or vegetarian main course (My bad- I forget). A combination of various mushroom with special sauce was very tasty. A cocktail in a rage of 9-11 Euros. My order 3 course menu: Started with good range of starter dish (well decorated-and appreciable taste, included a red meat, chicken, fish - on which I can't say, exotic vegetables, some breads with dips etc.) Main course of 24-26 Euros ended with the espresso coffee. I haven't had space for special desert. Per person it can range from 50-70 Euros. I strongly recommend this restaurant for all purpose event (we were 6-7 persons). Staff speak English. Only strange part was that they requested us to leave after 2-2:30 hours. I am not sure if it is common practice in Germany. This is ridiculous and embracing in my home country. That can be clarify at the time of booking. Overall experience was amazing.
Vyom S — Google review
We had a nice dinner here, but a few things took some joy off the general feeling. The food was very good, the Spanish pizza was the highlight, with a great combination of beef, cheese and marmalade, the giant ravioli were unique and the pasta with beef was well made, but besides the pizza which was fairly priced at 12,00 the other dishes were overpriced to our taste, considering portions and all in all worth. Wine glass at 10,00 was also somewhat exaggerated, so had those prices were 10-20% lower, we'd find it more adequate. Service was partly professional, by one (seem to be main) waiter, but a secondary waiter has served food touching it with his fingers, which is practically unacceptable... Atmosphere is pleasant, décor is vivid and vintage style. Reservation is advised, in case you want the upper restaurant.

We recently visited Schumachers for the first time in years to use a gift certificate we had received. It was exactly as I remembered. The food was good, but nothing special. I expected more for the price. The service was very attentive, but almost to a fault. Every couple minutes we were interrupted. We sat upstairs, where there are four small tables crowded together in a tiny space. All the tables were occupied and we felt very observed, aware that everyone in the tiny room could hear our every word. It was uncomfortable. Our evening ended on a particularly sour note when we asked for the check and handed over our gift certificate. A few minutes later, we were smugly informed that the gift certificate -- which we received during COVID and did not include an expiration date -- had expired and the restaurant refused to accept it. Ugh. Needless to say, we will not be going back to Schlumachers.

When we decided to have dinner at Restaurant Vai we had checked their homepage and was interested in the 3 course menu at the price of 50 euros. We were surprised when we sat at the table and looked through the menu once again. It said 69 euros for the 3 course menu. A bit of a difference. Anyway we took the 3 course menu and hoped for something nice. We had at first a sallad (Blattsalate mit kohlrabbicarpaccio und ziegenkäsecreme) which really wasn´t anything special. Then the doradenfilet & scampi. Didn´t taste much and seemed quite ordinary. The dessert was crème brûlée which was super disappointing. We´ve had crème brûlée many, many times before in other restaurants. It seemed as it had been prepared by an amateur. First of all it was ice cold including the crème under the surface. No traces of vanilla what so ever. Totally tasteless. The chef should really be ashamed to serve a crème brülée like this. We had four glasses of wine to go with the menu and when we got the tab we noticed that an extra 17,50 euro had been added as “trinkgeld”. We have visited several restaurants in Germany during the weeks before our visit in Lübeck and not once been charged “trinkgeld”. We felt that we were regarded as idiots here. We know very well that it´s customary to add “trinkgeld” if you are satisfied, but it is of course up to us as guests to decide the amount. In this case 10% was added by the restaurant. In my world 10% is the amount if you are very content with service and food. That was not the case for us. Adding “trinkgeld” like this is nothing else than cheating the guests. I can easily compare with a neighbour restaurant to Restaurant Vai on the opposite side of Hüxstrasse, Restaurant Miera. We had dinner there the night before. Really nice food and no adding on the tab. We did the adding ourselves by tipping the waiter directly. I think everyone should think twice about visiting this place with overpriced food and wines. There are other options nearby.

A popular and kinda “posh” place by the river. They have outside area and the view is amazing. It’s generally costly, with octopus starter and plaice as main course plus a small glass of beer is €54. That said, the octopus with spicy sauce can be recommended as it’s quite tasty. The downside is, the waiting time is longer than expected but probably the restaurant is busy as there was a birthday party inside.

Overall beautiful Restaurant with very attentive service at the port. It can be recommend. We had a curry soup with Maracuja and small shrimp's, interesting flavors nice presentation and consistency for my taste i can imagine they used Maracuja pulp that took the acidity but made it kind of sweet. The pasta with shrimps was overall good. The sea-trout was very well cooked the risotto with it tasty but overcooked and the horseradish foam to much and not strong enough, but well presented dish. The plaice with bacon strips was very well in taste and cooking pity the roasted potatoes where a bit without love and tasteless. The octopus dish was good, the octopus itself very well cooked and excellent taste, the salad was also very good, the ajoli pity not the punch you would expect and the slice of roasted bread unnecessary. Dessert the cream brulee with bay leaf ice cream was excellent. Overall a nice evening good drinks a bill of 150 euro for 4 person. The restaurant was full full on a Tuesday! Have that in mind and hope you enjoy as much as I did

With a strong emphasis on vegetarian and vegan options, guests can either choose from the creative combinations on the menu or customize their own potato masterpiece with fresh ingredients.
The food was absolutely delicious! I ate the El Mexicano Baked Potatoe, which was incredible. The flavors worked together perfectly. Ingredients were nice and fresh as well. The price is more than reasonable for what you're getting as well, quiet cheap actually. I requested two changes to my dish, one was forgotten, but besides that service was great as well and the food arrived at the table quickly.

First of all, good atmosphere, nice staff, is located very well and is priced very reasonable (except for the drinks). The food wasn’t anything special though, a lot of sauce, some pickles and „just“ a potato, it didn’t feel like anything extraordinary. I got the spinach and it was alright, and had a good price, but i wouldn’t go again.

Fresh food and delicious. Also great with kids. Recommend the El Mexicano if you like spicy.

Everything is based on potatoes with different toppings. A good concept for simple but tasty food that makes you full. The price is good as well. However, I would like to have even more richness in the taste, and you should not go here if you are in a hurry - it takes some time to get your food.

I was here with my friend group and was so happy to have chosen this cafe. Starting from the service to the cake and the coffee. It was so cosy here that I felt like I can stay for hours. Also it is so spacious that we had no problem storing our bags in the corner. They also have a kids corner which is very cute.

We came and got menus right away but we had to wait quite a while before we were able to order and we had to wait a while to get our food. My bagel with bacon was tasty! One remark, we asked for a glass of water and the waitress didn't even ask but brought us sparkling water, when I wanted regular water.

I went to TASTE when I was recently traveling alone. I searched out the place on a really hot day because of the reviews and it didn’t let me down. Relaxed, delicious food beautifully presented and a funky, chilled environment with friendly service. What more can I ask for? The food is particularly healthy and caring which is why I sought it out as well. My kind of place. Thank you.

Amazing matcha chai latte (oat milk) ! We came twice to this place during our stay. The pancakes were good 😋 and from what my friend said, the scrambled eggs were exceptional.

We came in August on a weekday morning for a relaxed cup of coffee. It was before 9:30 and very few local cafés were open at that time. We chose to sit inside seating for up to possibly 50 persons. Although there is a smallish recessed seating outside, sidewalk tables are on a bit of a slope, which may feel awkward— but otherwise pleasant. I had a latte macchiato (flavored with a half pump of caramel) which was creamy and delicious. My husband had a cup of white chocolate mocha, which he also enjoyed. The clientele appeared to be both locals and tourists, and we enjoyed seeing children playing quietly inside. I recommend this café and would return if we come back for a visit.

Super chewy Bagel!! We came to have something as snack and loved that we found this place. Bagel itself was amazing, not to mention the stuffed contents in between! We ordered Smoothie which was also very tasty.

The vegan brownie was decent, the Pistachio Matcha Latte however was not great. Service was good though! The matcha was not good quality, seeing as it was a beige light green and it tasted very grassy and nutty but not in a good way. A little disappointed since it sounded so good.

My summer rolls and papaya salad were surprisingly good! Everything was fresh, authentic and tasty, far better than many of the Vietnamese restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Really nice place with huge portions. I ordered the butterfish, and what I really loved about this dish is that it came with lots of good veggies such as asparagus, broccoli and snow peas, and not just a massive amount of rice like you normally get in other places, which made the dish a lot healthier and tastier.

Great asian fusion restaurant. I had on different days nigiri sushi (tuna and anago), some grilled fish and miso soup. I was also with colleagues who were all happy with their meal. The flying noodle dish was especially entertaining. All of us appreciated the amount of food served, and the generous portion of vegetables served with their bowls. Recommended.

Really good food, atmosphere and service. Quite reasonable prices. Very nice subtle Italian food far removed from a pizza joint. Back again a month later the food was still good, but perhaps less. Nestled in the heart of Lubeck, Bei Ulla is a beloved local establishment offering traditional German cuisine and a wide selection of excellent beers. This popular spot is frequented by both locals and tourists seeking an authentic German pub experience. The friendly and attentive staff are always ready to greet you with a smile. Specializing in the classic currywurst, this venue also offers delectable schnitzel options including pork and turkey.
We went there twice while in Lubeck. The Schnitzel was fantastic, both the pork and the turkey. Service was great the first night because the server was happy to speak English to us. The second night the server said “no English” and didn’t seem to want to deal with us. Great food, but you better know some German.

Pork with toast was something new for me but I liked it. I especially liked the mushrooms that came with it. The cafe prides itself on its freshly roasted specialty coffees, providing visitors with a unique coffee experience.
Super nice cafe, cosy vibes and nice decor. The staff were super friendly and patient even though we were struggling to order in German/English. If you’re a health conscious person, this is a great place to come! They allow you to customise your food according to your needs. The scrambled eggs usually comes without butter, but you can request for it. The matcha latte also comes without sugar or syrup! The scrambled eggs and bagel were great! Simple, home-made and tasty. The Panini with smoked salmon was a unique flavour. It had sour notes from the pickled jam, smokey flavour and umami notes from the salmon. It was surprising to taste at first but once you get used to it, its really great!

Went for coffee and cake after lunch. My wife had the marzipan cake and loved it while I chose poorly, a cinnamon roll. Nothing wrong with the roll just a bad choice. The actual coffee was good, my wife’s Americano was very good but my cappuccino was below average, i think it was the milk that let it down.

Kaffeehaus was my absolute favorite cafe in Lübeck, in the past 2 years I go there almost every week to read, to work or to socialize. I love their cakes however cant say the same thing for the drinks anymore. In the past 3 visits unfortunately our drinks were in very poor taste and quality. My husband loves Americano however it was way too sour than normal and even though we asked some milk ( twice actually) we ended up not getting it. My last order was iced matcha latte, it came with only 3 ice cubes ( almost no matcha inside at all) and they melted so quick and the drink was very warm and watery. I asked some more ice and ended up getting another 3 ice cubes 🥲And last time we waited for our cakes almost until we finished our drinks- again we friendly reminded service staff in case they forget , she kind of give us eye rolls. I am so sad but I don’t think I will visit there anymore. I love they always have young staff and good environment right in the heart of the town however I am not getting what I am paying for anymore.

The food and coffee choice is pretty good, the place is located in the nice area. On the downside: The roots of feld salat weren't washed. I could still see the dirt on them. There were no napkins on the table (common issue with German restaurants). They forgot to bring bacon to my eggs so I had to wait for about 10 minutes while they were getting cold. Things to consider guys :)

My total experience with this place is top, very cozy and very nice meal, everything was fresh, and cooked to the perfection I had a felafel Burger with Pommes, I have to mention the Pommes is also used with fresh potatoes. My only criticism for this restaurant was the dips and the decorations. The dips was not even meet quality, it was a taste less and not tasting good. And also the decorations is very much out dated.

Cash only place, in 2017 that is a big minus for me. However, good food, comfortable atmosphere and super location. Food arrives fast and is tasty. Staff is friendly. Prices are okay. This is not a pizza place, it is something between a pizza and a pie.

Johanna Berger is a hidden gem of a restaurant, tucked away in a small and comfortable location. Despite its unassuming appearance, it boasts a Michelin star and offers well-thought-out meals with perfectly balanced courses and impeccable wine pairings. The 4-course surprise meal is highly recommended for an exceptional dining experience curated by the chef. Guests praise the outstanding service and delicious food, particularly highlighting the appetizers as harmonious and delightful.
Ill start by saying, what a hidden gem this restaurant was. Hidden in a small, comfortable place. Easily you could walk by without notice, except for the michelin star. A meal that was well thought out, each course balanced well. With wine pairings that fit perfectly. Go for the 4 course surprise meal, it was such a wonderful experience giving the chef the choice to create a food experience. The star was the appetizer, as each bite was in harmony and melded perfectly. Combined with wonderful and attentive service, proved why a young restaurant would have the star they do. If you are ever in Northern Germany you need to make sure you go and leave with such wonderful memories as I. Prices are not cheap but most definitely worth it.

In one word - perfect. Amongst another good restaurants in Lübeck Johanna Berger stands alone. Exquisite kitchen coming from one of the best chefs in Germany will not only please your senses, but it will surprise you with its complexity and beauty. Excellent wine selection of the best German wines together with high quality service. 10 out of 10.

This was truly a very special evening. The restaurant is beautiful. Service is relaxed, there was often the sound of laughter from the kitchen, and the team clearly have fun working together to produce clever food and a memorable evening for their guests. Tasting menu and wines were perfectly paired. Nothing gimmicky, nothing gratuitous - simply artful combinations of flavours well presented. The chef, who is deservedly ambitious for a star, lets the food - which is locally sourced - speak for itself, but he adds inventive flair and creativity to make each course really sing. We had the great pleasure of chatting with the chef for some while after dinner (we forgive him for supporting the wrong football team) and were delighted to be joined by Johanna Berger. It was a memorable evening and we felt very lucky to have spent time with talented professionals who are clearly passionate about their work. If ever you are in Lübeck, do go, you won’t be disappointed.
Ali D — Google review
In my opinion, a restaurant experience is first and foremost about the food and then ambience and service add a nuance. Having said this, the dream team of Chefs Johanna and Jamel are producing excellence from local ingredients to the extent I have only experienced at the 1* establishment of Wullenwever a short walk from here. We decided on a 3-course Surprise Menu and one 3-course à la carte combination, both with the standard wine "journey", and both of us were thrilled by the variety, presentation, and taste of every morsel. Nothing on those plates was boring, the portion sizes were generous, and the wines were exceptional (even including a beautiful 1993 red). Needless to say, we were very impressed and left with a wish to return. On this balmy Lübeck evening, we decided to sit outside, and while the interior spaces are wonderful, the exterior could do with a bit more decor. If, as is likely, this restaurant aspires to Michelin stardom, then that might be the only aspect needing a little work. With flawless service, culinary excellence, and a price point that would make the drive from Hamburg a worthwhile endeavor, I give Johanna and Jamel my highest recommendation!

I came there last summer. The restaurant looks nice from outside and the inside is kind of rustic (which is nice from my point of view). First surprise, the waitress was clearly annoyed we came in. It felt like she didn't want us to eat there. Still we stayed and looked at the menu. After a little while, the waitress came and asked unpleasantly what we wanted and if we wanted to drink. We ordered pizza and pasta. The food was not good, not bad. The waitress stayed the same all time long. I was shocked by her behavior. We paid and left without the normal tips. Really wanted to like this place, unfortunately it just didnt live up to the ratings. I visited twice. First time, I had to wait almost 2 hours for my food. The second time, I had to wait over an hour and the food was just not good. I had odered a carbonara and as you can see in the photo, it wasn't done properly and the eggs had split. Waiting over an hour to two hours, with sub par food and bad communication. Ja, sorry.

Stumbled on this place today. While I was talking to my daughter about what to order, the cook came out of the kitchen and started explaining the specials. When I told him that my daughter was vegetarian, he asked if he could put something together that he liked (he was a vegetarian himself). Both my daughter's and my meals were fantastic. Highly recommend this place. The food, atmosphere and service were all fantastic. Go there and enjoy. Guten appetit!!

I visited with my 15 year old son and we had fried goat cheese as the appetizer, the tagliatelle and the Bolognese. Goat cheese is my son's favorite, so I only had a bite and I and found it okay - not great, but sadly it didn't make me immediately change restaurants. Unfortunately the appetizer was soon followed by the main courses and I gave up on the tagliatelle after the first bite. My son gratuitously offered to switch dishes with me but unfortunately the Bolognese wasn't much better. At that point I decided that the experience was not worth the calories and told my son that he can have both dishes. True to being a growing 15 year old he had both, but when later asked whether he liked it, he shrugged and said "No, but I didn't want the food go to waste" - this coming from a teenager that finds school cafeteria food great... As to the size of the dishes - the appetizer and two main courses had filled him up enough that he refused to share the donair I had for my supper. I'm surprised that the place brings in enough business to afford the rent and shocked at a reasonable review score.

Meh.. ordered toast with avocado. Dry bread, no salt, nothing special for 13€. Pistachio bagel was also not up to our expectations. Atmosphere was nice, people also.

It's a very cozy place. I really like their tables outside, they are located on the street which creates a very nice atmosphere. It was the best looking bananabread I've ever had, but I can't say the same for the taste. It was satisfying though. I recommend you to stop by 🤗

Japanese restaurant
NUI RAMENBAR is a laid-back establishment with an outdoor seating area, offering a variety of Asian cuisines such as ramen, sushi, and Thai dishes. The dining room has a down-to-earth ambiance. It caters to different tastes by infusing Pan-Asian and fusion styles while preserving authentic Asian flavors. The broth is flavorful, though it might be slightly salty for some palates. The noodles are of good quality and the portion size is satisfying.
It’s difficult to satisfy or convince an Asian person with a ramen place, but this place is great. Pan-Asian and fusion in style, but flavors definitely speak Asian. Broth tastes good, perhaps a bit salty for my taste but maybe not for others. Quality of the noodle is good, and the portion is just right but they’re quite generous with whatever ingredients they put in (in my case, plenty of raw salmon). Vibe of the restaurant is also modern, everything pristine and clean. I can only recommend this place.
Yoonjee K — Google review
Fake pictures, real food is totally different. I ordered tonkatsu ramen but served chasiu ramen. The shrimp goyza is not pan-fried dumplings, but is deep-fried ha-gau.

The food was shockingly below average. Although I’m no expert on Japanese cuisine, the tofu in my miso was very sour and had clearly gone bad. They replaced it upon request but got rid of the eggs in it. I’d gone there as a friend recommended it- but she’d been there 2 years ago. Seems like the quality has gotten worse.

Best ramen I've ever had. I am Asian but have never been more experienced the culture. I've always done some research and try whatever I can whenever I can, but this place was the first place I have been that I have not added anything to my meal. No extra soy sauce, not salt, nothing. So tasteful and beautifully made.

While it tastes great the orders are mostly messed up and we waited about half an hour for one of our three identical meals. While we waited and occasionally asked when it will be ready multiple other customers asked when their food will be ready all while they had a random output of random dishes.

My Hummus in the heart of Lubeck offers a delightful experience with its friendly and knowledgeable staff. The menu features a variety of flavorful hummus options, complemented by fresh vegetables. It's an ideal spot for a budget-friendly lunch. Visitors rave about the delicious avocado-infused hummus, making it a must-try at this establishment.
We went there for lunch and ordered 2 different hummus plates: avocado and red beans. Generally food was good and fresh. I would just not put so much balsamic oil on hummus. Not everybody likes it and so much of it. Maybe would be good to have it on side. Moreover would be nice to put some soap to toilet. In conclusion good restaurant which has potential to be very good.

My mom and I came in exhausted after a day exploring Lübeck’s Christmas markets and churches. We wished to sit drink a few cold drinks before continuing to our hotel. It turned out that they were cash only and we only had credit cards, but they were so very sweet to insist we drink our drinks and sit in the warmth of their restaurant. Such kindness was much appreciated. Although we didn’t try anything, the food looked and smelled delicious!

During my delightful stay in Lübeck, I had the absolute pleasure and honor of indulging in some of the most exceptional hummus I've ever tasted, surpassing even the renowned offerings in Berlin. The hummus was incredibly fresh, boasting a delightful flavor that left a lasting impression. Accompanied by the expertly crafted handmade falafels and perfectly grilled vegetables, particularly the Paprika Pita, it is a true delight for the senses. Moreover, The staff members are an extraordinary group of individuals who consistently demonstrated exceptional attitudes and hospitality. Their genuine warmth and attentiveness truly enhanced the dining experience. I cannot recommend highly enough their world-famous hummus wraps, served in delectable Pita bread. Each bite is an explosion of flavors that will transport your taste buds to new heights of delight. Don't miss out on this culinary gem during your visit to Lübeck.

Wow! Wow! Wow! WHAT A GEM!!!! This place has been created with so much love. It really is impressive how the dishes are crafted with so much creativity, and flavor. In our opinion one of Lübecks best addresses when it comes to a culinary night out. A cozy atmosphere with a well blend of traditional and contemporary interior design set the stage for the fantastic food. Its creative, experimental but throughout delicious. Prepare for umami flavors, ferments and cleverly combined ingredients. (Only remark - the dessert could quite keep up with the rest of the dishes) Did I already mentioned the wine list, ..no? Ohh ok .. here you go: it’s amazing! I especially loved their great selection of matassa vines! All in all we had a great time here and I would consider coming back to Lübeck just to eat here again.

schickSAAL* - kollektiv • hostel • café • kneipe offers individually designed dorms and rooms in a laid-back setting, complete with a pub, cafe, and communal kitchens. The hostel's kitchen facilities are well-liked, and the spacious bedrooms provide a comfortable stay. While the staff is friendly and COVID precautions are strictly enforced, the noise from nearby bars can be disruptive on weekends. Despite this, the location is convenient for exploring the area.
Stayed there as a solo female traveller. Loved the vibe, felt very cozy, staff were lovely and even gave a number we could call 24/7 if we needed help with anything (with my poor German it made me feel very welcomed). Rooms were nice and the cafe downstairs was lovely. Would highly recommend!
Catie M — Google review
Incredibly bad service, the staff was late by 1 hour before we were allowed to check in. The rooms consisted of bunk beds, which was fine. You had to share a toilet with others in the accommodation, including a shower. Breakfast was supposed to be included, something we didn't get. The location is bad, in an alley right next to a night club.
Tibellarn — Google review
Excellent hostel, very nice facilities although the beds creaked a lot. Nice location just remember it's down a small alley as I walked past it twice
Dik H — Google review
Really nice hostel on a Vibrant street! The rooms was spacious. Very safe for solo female travelers. The hostel has a bar / cafeteria in addition to the kitchen which was great. Would recommend it!
Andrea S — Google review
A note to people booking that just because it says maximum capacity four doesn't mean four people who normally don't sleep in the same bed will be comfortable (some beds are shared more or less). We had a school trip here and we didn't have sufficient personal space in my view because it was booked by max room capacity not the beds themselves. Seems some beds are designed for families or couples. A bit different than other hostels where there are individual twin beds for each person. There were also no guardrails on some of the loft beds.
Julia G — Google review
We stayed here as a group and we loved it! The hostel has “personality”. The rooms are spacious and schick!! It is nearby everything and very easy to locate. Just a reminder it is on a pub street so it gets loud at night. No problem if you can sleep thru noise.
Marie E — Google review
Super cool concept, super nice hostel. The specific room I booked had privacy curtains, which I quite appreciated. Two 24/7 kitchens, big bathrooms, nice staff. Due to the parties which occur a few nights of the week/end, this might be a loud stay during hot Summer nights, but the insulated windows absolutely block the noise out.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are big and clean, we had a great breakfast and the service was friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic. I had the four-course meal and a truly wonderful dining experience. Each course was beautifully prepared, with flavors that were thoughtfully balanced and deeply satisfying. From the presentation to the service, everything felt elevated. At moments, I genuinely thought this restaurant was on the path toward Michelin recognition. The only shortcoming was finding a bone in the main course, which disrupted what was otherwise a flawless progression. That aside, the meal was excellent, and I look forward to returning as the kitchen continues to refine its craft.

Do you like it chic? Do you like it classy? Do you like to celebrate when an ancestral gallery full of important people hangs on the wall? Then you've come to the right place! This is where the rich and beautiful meet and complain about the rabble while you bite into a hearty Vario beef bratwurst. Exactly the right location for a party with 200 people who like to celebrate in old honorable walls.

Steak house
Anno 1865 is a cozy and rustic restaurant located just 200 meters from the sea in a former parsonage dating back to 1865. The highlight of their menu is the preparation of steaks on an 850-degree Beefer. Visitors have praised the fantastic service and delicious food, with particular recommendations for surf 'n' turf dishes and seafood cooked to perfection. The restaurant also offers great options for vegetarians, such as their highly recommended curry.
Great food and fantastic service. We had a wonderful night in this little gem and can only recommend it. You will not be disappointed! From our point if view, one if the best restaurants in the area, all food whether meat or fish all cooked to perfection! Also a great choice for vegetarians, we can fully recommend the curry!

Got a burger at this restaurant, which can not be recommended. The meat was rather dry and the burger was in gereral tasteless though i added bacon and cheese. Syrian restaurant
Paradies Restaurant in Lübeck is a delightful culinary gem that specializes in a diverse array of vegan dishes, making it a must-visit for plant-based food lovers. The menu features fresh salads, including an enticing Arabic salad, alongside classic Syrian cuisine reimagined in vegan form with favorites like falafel, hummus, and eggplant dip. Guests rave about the smoky barbecued kebabs that stand out from typical offerings found elsewhere in Germany.
Amazing food, nice little place. Our cards were declined (two cards from separate banks) but the staff was amazing and let us go and take out money from an atm.

This place was so good that I ended up eating here three times in the week I stayed in Lübeck. Lovely barbecued kebabs with a smoky taste, and not ruined by red cabbage or sweet sauces like many kebabs in Germany. The hummous and tabbouleh were also great. The staff were very friendly too.

Important Note Before My Review: I’d like to ask everyone here to please be honest when you write reviews. Many people rely on these comments and assume you are telling the truth. It helps all of us make better decisions. ❌ My Experience: Unfortunately, I have to say that this was the worst Adana kebab I have ever had. It was cold when it arrived, and the taste was very disappointing. The meat did not seem fresh, and the overall experience was far below what I expected. 👎 I do not recommend this place, especially if you care about food quality. I hope the restaurant improves, but based on my visit, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

5/5 and they 100% deserve it, my vegan friend and none vegan friends ordered many things and every single one of them looked astoundingly good and tasted wonderful. The flavors were well balanced and left a desire for more after every bite. The waiter was super sweet and nice, very polite and friendly. What an experience! I am not an expert on vegan food by a long mile, but maybe that is why I should point out that this was some of the best Sushi I ever had - period. I was hesitant and thought I would miss the fish- boy, was I wrong! It was extremely well presented and the taste was incredible. This is a must visit!

My friend and I had a lunch here and both dishes (a bowl and a curry with rice) were very nice. Lots of fresh ingredients, silky tofu prepared nicely and hearty serving sizes.

Be aware, they don't take visa card but only giro or cash! There's an ATM down the street. Delicious food! We got the pho (main), gyros (starter), and coco soup (starter). There's only vegan food. Everything is very fresh and full of taste. Relaxing ambience and clean area. Only German menu and service.

Very good sushi. I'm glad that places like this exist even though I am not vegan myself. I appreciate a good approach to the kids. Sorry for the mess we made! The only thing I would recommend is asking whether to put spicy sauce on most sushi - especially when we have kids with us.

CARLS Travemünde is a fantastic restaurant that offers delicious food and exceptional service. The atmosphere is calm and enjoyable, making it the perfect place for a relaxing evening. The menu provides a wide range of options from various regions in Germany, all of which are expertly prepared with generous portions. The wine selection is impressive and complements the dishes perfectly. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you make a reservation in advance.
Very good food and great service! It was an uncomplicated, most enjoyable evening in a relaxing atmosphere. The menu offered many interesting options from different German regions -- well executed, but rather big portions! The recommended wine fit quite well with the food. (Translated by Google) The atmosphere in the historic place is great. The food is beautifully presented and served when you let your eyes wander. you feel like you've been transported back in time. But unfortunately the restaurant is not suitable for vegetarians! There isn't really anything on the menu and the cuisine is so unimaginative that you can get exactly the same vegetarian menu a year apart. Unfortunately there were also crabs in the vegetarian soup. The waitress brought the plate into the kitchen in an extremely contrite manner, but that was only of limited consolation.

(Translated by Google) The bread that came with the starter was not fresh. After the complaint, we were served the same quality of bread. Due to our complaint, the service made an unpleasant impression. That's probably why there weren't any wine glasses between the courses changed. For this price range and its claim to offer somewhat upscale gastronomy, it is incomprehensible to me. My guest received the last course 10 minutes before my course was served to me. It's not possible and we saw it that way.....Criticism is unwanted and we'd rather do without guests like that. We just don't belong to the Rossi worshipers. That's fine, we won't see each other again anyway. I'd rather add 50 euros and eat a three-course meal one street away. In fairness, the monkfish was very good.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, it was not at all satisfactory. The ambiance of this beautiful establishment was ruined by the 80s elevator music, which was played at a very loud and intrusive level. The staff reacted rudely to requests to turn it down. Furthermore, the staff did not know the normal serving rules. There were five of us (three women and two men), and the men were given the menu first?!? Not everyone at the table wanted wine, but the wine glasses were left uncovered and simply left standing. The food was good, except for the dessert, which was not worthy of fine dining. I strongly advise against a visit!

Gastronomy often depends on the day's form and even an unsuccessful evening does not mean that this is the standard. ORANGERY Service: Reserved, but attentive and friendly. Seems relatively rigid. Little time spent with the guest. Sommeliér hardly present, seems reserved and more in the background. You hardly got the feeling that she would like to sell wine or drinks. Interactions were brief. Aperitivi only sherry and champagne, "large" selection. Work clothing is a matter of taste, but relatively uneven: Sneakers with a suit, 4 ballpoint pens in the trouser pocket (restaurant manager). The time between aperitivi, amuse, bread, refreshing towels (Oshibori) was very short, hardly any time to really arrive. Music goes from off, to loud, to quiet, to off again and then loud again towards the end? Amuse: Goose foie gras mousse too creamy, not fluffy and too intense. Tartlet very balanced, pleasant acidity and umami. Wasabi basil tasted round and intense, smoked eel was round. overall “good” Gear I: Sea bass is drowned in cucumber sorbet and vinaigrette. Tuna barely noticeable. Cucumber sorbet quite sweet. overall “okay” Gear II: Jerusalem artichoke very reserved. Langoustino on point. Sauces and truffles very pleasant and round. overall “okay” Gear III: Very well done, taste quite acidic with a pleasant sweetness. Very round, zander cooked to perfection, reconstructed mussel delicious. All round course with many different flavor compositions. overall "very good" Gear IV: Iberico pork Three things classic, one-sided in taste. Charcoal aromas barely noticeable, puree quite weak. Round in taste, but not overwhelming, a step back in the menu development after course III. overall “okay” Gear V: Duck cooked to perfection, tastes absolutely round and juicy. Jus is also very intense, the taste is also round. Celery puree good and smooth, red cabbage variation has a round taste. “Duck blood sausage” has a round taste and good consistency. overall “good” Pre-dessert: Tom Kah Gai Sorbet tastes very round and refreshing. Meringue with passion fruit gel and “popping shower”, interesting but not necessary. Passion fruit ring has a pleasant taste and good consistency, mango and passion fruit broth is very sour. overall “okay” Gear VI: Variation of the dark Valrhona chocolate, really very intense and strong, hardly any variation in texture and taste. The taste of rum was barely noticeable. Chocolate, with chocolate, on chocolate and covered in chocolate. Pearls of olive oil/fat were very filling and had almost no taste at all. Fillet pieces of orange, refreshing, but unfortunately not enough. Overall very sweet, filling and monotonous. overall "well" Petit fours: 5 different petits, very sweet, one-sided in taste, no flavor twist, no refreshment. Overall, a very sweet, texturally one-sided and unspectacular conclusion. “Surprise box” petit fours: Classic variation of chocolates in an elegant shape. Champagne, white chocolate. The taste of champagne is barely noticeable, white chocolate is very present. Chocolate very dominant, very sweet, sweet finish, unsatisfactory. overall “weak” Conclusion: For a menu price of 170€ (6 courses) and a menu like this, absolutely no recommendation from me. At the end they asked humorously whether we were full or whether we still wanted to go to the "golden M". In my opinion, it's a cheeky question, especially when there are guests there who have a bill of almost €500 for two people.

(Translated by Google) My expectations of finding a good star restaurant in a Maritim Hotel were low and I was immediately proven wrong. Absolute top performance and interaction between kitchen, service and sommelier. In my opinion, the amuse bouche, the menu, the wine accompaniment and especially the petit fours can even be placed in the 2-star segment. A great evening and by far the best restaurant on Timmendorfer Strand.

Vegetarian cafe and deli
Café FREUNDlich, located in Lubeck, Germany, is a charming spot offering a delightful selection of vegan treats and beverages. The cafe boasts its own recipe for delicious vegan ice cream in flavors like vanilla chocolate. In addition to the tempting ice cream, guests can enjoy Italian coffee from Danesi, refreshing lemonade and iced tea from Lemonaid and Caritea. For those craving something savory, vegetarian paninis and pretzels are also available.
Gluten free icecream! But only 2 flavours (vanilla and dark chocolate)

There is also a very good range of jam, 77% fruit, no sugar, made in-house, probably also popular with our neighbors from France. (Original) Eine gute Auswahl an veganen Kuchen etc.

(Translated by Google) There were two of us there and we were able to enjoy these delicious tarts in the evening atmosphere. There was a really large selection of vegan variants, I could hardly decide 😍. The tarts we had were delicious, crispy on the bottom and fruity in the filling. Not too sweet, so just right. Being able to sit outside is of course great in the current summer weather! Thank you very much, we'll be back.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, the buffet on Saturday evening is not recommended. The two stars are for the really attentive and friendly service. Unfortunately, the taste is absolutely not recommended and for 55 euros (without drinks) it is a very poor price-performance ratio. Some of the dishes didn't even fit together, the pasta with the green pesto was inedible and reminded me of my student canteen days. Thawed cream puffs, rolls, packaged black bread thalers, cheese from a tetra pack, just served up a bit nicely. The price is really too high for that... it's a shame, we were really looking forward to it! You definitely have to make adjustments here - either in terms of quality and selection or adjust the price appropriately.

Even when I wanted to order "on site", I was assured, as was the case when I entered, that someone would be there soon. I've heard this several times now, from acquaintances and friends. The food and cocktails aren't supposed to be good either, I'll write that here, but make up your own mind. No recommendation. Keine Empfehlung.
