Historic Sites
Maihaugen is a renowned open-air museum in Lillehammer, Norway, showcasing traditional Norwegian buildings that depict rural, urban, and home life from the 1400s to the present day. With over 200 buildings divided into the Rural Section, Historic Town, and Residential Area, visitors can immerse themselves in Norway's cultural heritage. Families with children will find it especially enjoyable. The museum offers a captivating journey through time and provides insight into Norwegian history and architecture.
I had a great time visiting Maihaugen—it's a fantastic place to spend quality time with family. This was my second visit in three years. The museum takes you on a journey through Norway’s cultural and architectural history, from old villages to modern towns. The actors at various locations were friendly and informative—we had a fun time chatting with them. Kids will enjoy the pools, ducks, and other animals around the area. It's a good idea to bring some snacks so you can sit and relax in one of the many scenic spots. They do have a cafeteria in there as well. The Olympic Museum and Postal Museum are also located within the same enclosure and are definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic afternoon of walking and discovering the area! You could spend hours here, so wear walking shoes! Even have a picnic or grab a meal in the cafe. The indoor exhibitions are just as great as the outside exhibitions. Overall, a wonderful experience!
Heather B — Google review
Beautiful village but also a bunch of other random indoor museums inside. Its not as interactive as it could be, but still great to see. I didn't have kids with me but there seemed to be a few indoor play areas with toys and outdoor. Uneven walking around the edges on paths but big wide paths as well!
Laura M — Google review
Possibly one of the best Museums I've ever been to. It's a large complex of multiple museums and open air exhibits spread over a vast area. It took me 5 hours just to rush through most of the stuff while skipping much.
Roy F — Google review
Sprawling museum with a variety of exhibits, both indoor and outdoor. Reasonable admission price based on how much there is to see. Well maintained facility and grounds, helpful map provided on how to navigate.
Sarah H — Google review
Here’s the translation: ⸻ The museum itself is great! Interesting outdoor exhibits, but the opening hours policy is poor – from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. We didn’t manage to thoroughly see all three museums. In the end, we rushed through the Olympic one and didn’t have time to calmly buy souvenirs. Also, many outdoor objects were closed. All in all, good, but it could have been better. It gets crowded from 11 onwards because organized groups arrive as well.
Mihaela M — Google review
Our group of 9 attended a wonderful guided tour of a historial Norwegian farm, which is smaller than a town but larger than a one family living area. The typical home includes a centrla fire area in a wooden structure. The schoolhousr is several school benches with long writing desks for students of all ages where they learned religion and reading. The central church is closed today. The excellent guide even gave us a school lesson on the small blackboards. As we headed to the interior museum, we passed by a gift shop with scarves, Norway souvenirs, journals with Norway decor, and of course, Trolls, trolls, and more Trolls. JaBaDaBaDo toys are 5% off. The inside museum shows the history of the resilent Norwegian throughout history. A special exhibit open until November highlights dance in Norway, including folk dances, swing dance, ballroom, tango, rap, hip hop with a don’t-be-shy interactive opportunity. The attention to historic events and their role in Norway’s path to a stronger nation. The years of German occupation, changing relations with other Scandinavian nations, and immirgation are summed up in displays and videos. All videos and signs are in Norwegian and many in English. Signs are legible and readble. The section that pays tribute to UNESCO sites is impressive with intention to preserve the world’s environment. Excellent museum that gives a memorable summary of Norway and Norwegians.
Toni T — Google review
This is an amazing museum with well preserved buildings sharing the history of life in Norway. We only had time for The Rural Area and wished we were able to see the Town and Residential areas as well. But, it was incredible and beautiful. We even got to see inside the old buildings and how they were furnished. The grounds are beautiful. We learned how the museum was thought of and built as well as how people lived a very long time ago! The museum is over 100 years old!! This is a must-see while in Lillehammer and make sure you allow plenty of time to see the whole thing, including the Olympic Museum (included in your admission).

The Norwegian Olympic Museum offers an immersive experience for visitors, showcasing the history of the Olympics from ancient times to the present day. Through interactive displays, audio-visual presentations, and original artifacts, guests can gain insight into athletes' preparations and even try out sports simulators. The museum features special sections dedicated to the winter Olympics in Lillehammer and Oslo. Lillehammer itself is a charming town known for its natural beauty and cultural heritage, having hosted the 1994 Winter Olympics.
Lilly Hammer is a beautiful place. History of previous Olympic Games.

This is one of the best museum. Literally traveled through the time and spending the time in nature with family. We were all very satisfied
David P — Google review
This tribute to Norwegian athletes and the Olympics in Norway 1994 & 1925 was educational, inspiring, and a multimedia experience. The first video is a compelling historical view of clips of opening scenes of the Olympic games throughout history. I watched this video three times. another section offers clips of actual Olympic events. It was extremely compelling to see Jessie Owens at the 1936 Olympics in Germany, which made me cry. Quotes by famous Olympians add a personal touch The display of Olympic medals throughout history shows another element of Olympic history. The history of Norwegian athletes is compelling. I really enjoyed the section on Sonia Henie and her ice-skating history. This venue is wheelchair entry and accessible. Accessible restrooms are located in the central museum area entry is through the Maya Hogan Norwegian museum.
Toni T — Google review
Fun museum celebrating Norway’s standout athletes and overall contribution to the Olympics. A wide variety of flags, medals, and outfits. Interactive and enjoyable to peruse.
Sarah H — Google review
If you have any interest in the Olympics then this is well worth a visit. Lots of history, mostly on the winter Olympics with lots of memorabilia. Several other attractions included in the ticket price, and a nice cafe as well.
Colin M — Google review
It was a large place that had showcase on the Olympic in Norway with a fee. The outside had a miniature of a true Norwegian village. The train, post office, pharmacy and much more. You did not have to pay for the outside village. The inside building had a store and a restaurant as well.
Iris B — Google review
The olympic exhibits offer some interactive exhibits that are fun. Try your hand at shooting and running as you practice the Biathlon. There is a Postal Museum and a Museum of Antiquities from Norways history. "We Won The Land" is another section of exhibit coving the full history of Norway, and then there is the outdoor park. Spend 3 to 5 hours here.

Museums
Lillehammer Art Museum, located in the picturesque town of Lillehammer, Norway, is a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts and cultural explorers. Housed in a striking contemporary building, the museum showcases over 1,500 pieces of Norwegian and global artwork spanning two centuries. The permanent collection offers a comprehensive representation of Norwegian art from the 1830s to modern times, while the museum also hosts temporary exhibitions featuring art from around the world.
Liked the museum quite good. Beside of the photo exhibition I wanted to see, I was very positive about the remaining displayed collection. An interesting and engaging visit. In addition the building self is offering small surprises, outlooks and shifting impressions of space and directions. To me a nice discovery in an interesting town.
Georg K — Google review
Really nice and relaxed atmosphere. Didn't expect a museum that is "not located in Oslo" to be this good. Parking was a littlebit tight, but overall good since it was in the center of Lillehammer.
Sebastian S — Google review
A really great museum with great exhibits and fun architecture. A lot of great paintings here. It’s not big, just a nice size so that it won’t eat up your whole day. Been here several times and have never been disappointed. I’m always happy to visit again.
The B — Google review
The museum is in the central area of the city, just a block from the main Street where people browse for shopping. Currently it has a major exhibit with French influence, primarily with artwork from Bonnard og Norden. The museum has several pieces from Munch amongst other artists.
Dipak O — Google review
This art museum contains a glorious collection of Nordic paintings in addition to modern and contemporary artworks. Of particular interest is the gallery of Frits Thaulow paintings that beautifully and expertly capture light upon water. Other paintings that stood out include a tremendous Akseli Gallen Kalela from Finland and a very earthy Anders Zorn painting (Swedish). Veronica B. was specially helpful and delighted to share about the museum collection...a great pleasure to speak with her.
Michael W — Google review
A wonderful art museum in the heart of Lillehammer. Great exhibitions of various types of art. And fun stuff for the kids to do as well. Definitely worth a visit!
Tariq Q — Google review
Art. Good! Air conditioning in unseasonably hot weather. Also Gooooood! There was so much I missed out on because I didn't realize the museum was closing (5 pm on Saturday) and it was the weekend. That's my fault. I was getting to the bones of everything but I enjoyed what I did see. Learned about some new artists that I love and am going to have to research.

We just stopped at the cafe in the front of the building. Good selection of snacks, cold drinks and coffee. Unusual water feature to the left and there was a fresh fruit and vegetable stand to the right. A rather nice looking building also on the right.

Lillehammer Bryggeri AS is a microbrewery deeply rooted in the town's history, with origins dating back to the 1850s. Although it closed in 1983, the brewery reopened its doors in 2006 and now offers a selection of local brews alongside traditional Norwegian delicacies. Visitors have praised the friendly atmosphere and delicious food, particularly highlighting the Black IPA brewed on site and the excellent moose burger.
Probably THE best dinners we had during our 2 weeks visit in Norway. The kind attitude and warm service (very much unlike Norwegians...), the great beer, the food and atmosphere made our visit here an unforgettable experience. Look for Frank, you’ll never regret it!
Harel O — Google review
Fab micro brewery. We really enjoyed the amber ale and the wheat beer. Reasonably priced beer and food and lovely staff. Plan your trip to be in Lillehammer on the days it is open !
Anne S — Google review
Very nice! We enjoyed discovering traditional food from Norway: the chief’s deer/moose stew was really good! Also the typical environnement is bringing you to the Norway from old times with the lovely historical explanations of our waiter. It could have been a perfect if we didn’t got kick out by the waiter/chief who wanted to finish his service.
Diane C — Google review
Unbelievably good! The beer is the best I drank so far in Norway and the food (we had Deer Steak and Pork Cheeks) was overwhelming. You need to try at least a dish with the beer sauce. Too good to be true!
Eiko G — Google review
This restaurant was the highlight of our visit to Scandinavia! Incredibly friendly people; Awesome beer...loved the Black IPA that they brew on site. The moose burger was excellent!Chatted about everything Norwegian and the wonderful part was their Viking replica ship that went to Lans Aux Meadows (on the northerly tip of Newfoundland in Canada). Lovely atmosphere and such good hosts. We'll never forget this visit!
Mark S — Google review
We walked into this out-of-the-way brewpub at 5 pm on a Friday, met Viggo, and knew we had found the exactly perfect place to drink good craft beer and eat delicious local food. Viggo welcomed us, and talked to us about the history of the place and the focus of the business which included beer, local food and music. His enthusiasm was infectious- we loved the conversation and learning more about the area. He shared a brochure with us that included information on other regional food suppliers and businesses in the area, since this was an interest of ours. We were 3 for 3 on the home brews- a Black IPA, a lager and a wheat beer. We loved the first two, and although none of us really like wheat beer, that was good too. The food was exceptional. We shared three dishes. The pork cheeks were so tender and the sauce was amazing. We also had a bratwurst with an wonderful sauce over delicious mashed potatoes. Viggo brought out a little container of chanterelles (that he had picked) that were used in a sauce. We started with a meat and cheese plate that included some amazing local aged ham, moose and deer sausages and an award winning local mild white cheese. This was such a wonderful experience. The historic ( and chill) setting, the local food and drink, and the warm hospitality were exceptional.

Restaurant
Nikkers Sportsbar in Lillehammer, Norway is a cozy little restaurant with an excellent menu selection and warm, friendly staff. Diners highly recommend the venison filet and the cured meats and cheese plate from the Christmas menu. The moose burger is a must-try, as it is made with locally sourced moose that is hand-ground by the restaurant. The moose stew also receives praise for its delicious taste and nice presentation.
Great, cosy little restaurant. Excellent menu selection and warm, friendly staff. I had the venison filet from the Christmas menu and my dining companion had the cured meats and cheese plate. My dish was delicious and hers was much bigger than expected but also delicious. Highly recommend the chocolate fondant dessert as well. Make a reservation as the tables fill fast, especially on the weekends. You might get lucky if you show up as a party of two but only if you're willing to dine and dash (so to speak) at a previously reserved table.

Liked the place and the atmosphere especially the seating outside. I ordered the mussels but didn't really enjoy it. It had a fishy smell and was too salty. But my husband had the moose burger and it was quite good!

You have to order by QR code while the system is not working. So after half hour nobody at the table I went to the bar and ordered a burger from the moose… Sold out. Oke, tenderloin it wil be. Vegetables are raw, cutlery is not sharp enough for the meat and service was poor.
Marco K — Google review
We had dinner at Nikkers last night after being turned away from a nearby restaurant. The food was delicious (Moose burgers and moose tartar), the beer was cold and wonderful, and we are especially grateful to Stina who took great care of us, even with a full restaurant and bar. We may go back tomorrow!

Slow service but the chicken sandwich was good. They initially got my order wrong and didn’t say anything about it, so I had to wait even longer to get the sandwich.

Get the cod, don't get the entrecote. I never send food back but I had to send the entrecote back because it was dry and cooked very well done when I ordered medium. They cooked the dish over and this time it was cooked medium but was still dry and very tough and bland tasting. We also ordered the cod and it was very good. The service was good and the waiter was apologetic for the poor dish.

There are two ski jumping slopes. They were used in the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. Now they are in regular use, mostly in winter competitions and practice. In summer they have ski lifts that take you up for the views, and the views from the top are amazing. There's a small shop which has gifts and snacks. It's very close to the town of Lillehammer.

🥇 Lillehammer hosted the first “eco-friendly” Olympic Games in history During the 1994 Winter Olympics, Lillehammer became the first host city to focus heavily on environmental protection: • all venues were built to minimize damage to nature; • the Olympic Village used eco-friendly materials; • the city planted tens of thousands of trees to compensate for its environmental impact. That’s why the 1994 Games are often called “the most environmentally friendly Olympics ever.” 🌲🏔️

30 minutes on foot from the city center. Two ski jumps with 936 steps leading to the top. It’s worth going because the view of the Lillehammer area is stunning.
Mihaela M — Google review
Definitely a place worth visiting in Lillehammer. Full of sports nostalgia and stunning views. From the town center there’s a long uphill walk to the spectator area, and from there about 900 steps to the top of the ski jump. In August 2025 the chairlifts were not operating. Descending the stairs is not recommended if you’re afraid of heights.
Taneli D — Google review
We didn’t know what to expect from visiting this site & was even going to skip it. Glad we didn’t, it was fascinating to see how steep & far the jumps went & it’s one hell of a climb to the top, but the views are worth it.
Nick S — Google review
This is the Ski Jumping Arena of the 1994 Winter Olympics. We stopped here for a quick visit and enjoyed the view even without climbing to the top of the run. The lifts weren’t operating and we didn’t have enough time to climb up to the top of the run.

Garmo Stave Church is a striking building located at the top of a hill near the entrance to the Open Air Museum. It features a pointed tower with dragon heads on the ridges of the roof, giving it an impressive and unique appearance. Originally built in the early 1200s, this church has undergone several extensions, including its current characteristic cross shape added in 1730.
Beautiful stave church located not too far off E6, for easy access for the traveller. However, it's part of a folk museum that charges for entry, and Google Maps could provide incorrect directions there. Just set the museum nearby as the destination instead and all should be a-ok.

Beautiful church that can be visited as part of admission to the Maihaugen museum. During normal hours there is a guide inside who can answer questions and provide info.
Sarah H — Google review
Garmo stave church is at the top of the hill near the entrance to the Open Air Museum. It is the most striking building at the museum with its pointed tower with dragon heads on the ridges of the roof gazing out to the horizon. The church was built early in the 1200s, but has been extended several times, most recently in 1730. This is when it was given the current characteristic cross shape. The church stood originally at Garmo in Lom. It was pulled down in 1880, but the materials were kept and the church was reconstructed at Maihaugen in 1921. It is placed here as the parish church of the village, and shows what a church looked like in Gudbrandsdalen in the 1700s. It carries history from the middle ages up to the present day. The altarpiece and the pulpit are parts of the church's fittings that carry a message to the congregation through their motifs and symbols. This is where the children of the village were christened and the font still stands in the chancel of the church today. On an August day in 1859, Nobel prize winner Knut Hamsun was christened there. The church was at the centre of festivities such as christenings and weddings, and this is where Christian life was maintained from one generation to the next by the church services. The church was also the gathering place for the village, the only one before the arrival of shops and assembly rooms. This is where agreements were made, the meeting place of the young, and perhaps the fire of love was lit here. The church is in use for services during the summer months and on a Saturday we might find a newly married couple here. During the summer season we can meet the church guide, who can give us the history of the church.

Super fun and lot to see for childrens. Our child is just above 100cm, but still he could enjoy most of the rides. You can easily spend whole day here. Lots of people so you have to queue some time on some of the rides.

Best park for kids! My datter has been her two time when she was 5 years old and now 7 years olds. There are many rides for kids between 90 - 110 cm with adults. She love car driving and they will get child drivers license. You can bring your own food to grill and pay for the grill kr 25,-. You can also borrow trillevogn for kr 50,-. The parking costs kr 75,- a day.

I would highly recommend this park for a day trip, particularly to families with younger children. Our four-year-old had an absolute blast. You should also put Reodor Helgen’s hyperaccelerator on your to-do list of rides – it’s worth waiting in line for! 😀

Had a wonderful visit for my son’s 8th birthday. It’s a bit of a faff via public transport (the route over the dam for the 142 bus is closed) but well worth the trip. Everything was in really good condition and thoughtfully organised. We were there on a quiet day and some of the rides had no queues - the staff very kindly let us stay on for a second time around. We brought our own lunches but grills and cafes seemed nice. The Energy Centre was particularly good.

Nice to experience, a good variety of activities for kids. Updated 12/07/22 The experience was almost OK. There was a mishap and i expected it to be handled way better for a Park that charges over 50dollars per person for entry. Expensive, period! There are actually not that many rides in this park for people over 140. Don't bring bigger kids here expecting them to be able to have the best of rides available. For some rides you cannot go on with sandals...Wear sneakers, too much to ask really, especially in the summer tbh Funny thing is, we did go on them (unknowingly) but no one said anything. You also have to pay extra to go climbing. Best to go to Tusenfryd or Liseberg in Gøteborg to be honest!

The parking for the house is at the bottom of a drive and the walk is uphill. If you have a disability you can park up the hill in front of the red barn. There is a cafe on site which serves cakes and light lunches. I had a toasted gluten-free sandwich and there's soup available. I loved the house but sadly, the tour times are subject to change and on Sunday the 1.30pm English tour was cancelled so I went on the 1pm Norwegian tour rather than pass up the chance to see the house. As I haven't any Norwegian, it was sad to hear the detail which the excellent guide went into without understanding anything she was saying. She asked me all through whether I had any questions and had allowed me to borrow the English guidebook before the tour, which was kind. But next time I may ask whether there's an English tour and if not, I'll come back the next day.

The house orchestra maintains a high standard of vintage jazz. With 30 small businesses on-site, it's a great place for creative individuals to network and engage in various activities such as workshops and art sales.
Fabrikken offers several studios and work places. We strolled on a Saturday, which the only person we encountered told us was not the Saturday of open studios. We enjoyed viewing the paintings, sculpture and other creative works by artists as Margrete Fredlhnd, Vera Fredny Solem, and many works by Eva Willix. it's cozy. there's long tables to share with other people if it gets busy. there's a ton of equipment (xc, downhill, snowshoes etc) to rent. there's a cafe. all this makes it feel like something from my childhood. in addition, there's a small grocery store if you don't feel like going to Sjusjoen. them having paracetamol and blister protecting pads really, really helped me when I got sick (and had sore toes).

Not sure what we did wrong but we were treated like an inconvenience when rented gear for 6 people. It is a shame because my partner’s family has been loyal to Nordseter for decades and have always had good experiences. The equipment we rented was good - but the store was full of old inventory. We know they must have had hard years during the pandemic and wouldn’t have minded the condition of the store but all interactions with the staff were bad. Hope it goes back to the friendly Nordseter we remember!
Joe B — Google review
Awful service - the owner has the worst attitude. We drove a long way to pick up gear we had reserved ages ago to find out it wasn't ready. This was not the staff's fault, but they forgot to call us to say we had to wait. What is more is that the owner then refused to refund that day even though we had to drive forth and back again and didn't have time to use the gear that day. My bad review is due to the lack of service and feeling like an inconvenience for wanting to rent gear. In the end he agreed to refund one day, but I can now see that he has charged me something extra so the refund transferred to my bank account is close to zero. Will never rent gear from there again.

Lots of x-country ski equipment. Classic and skate skis. Friendly service. Even joked with us. Great place to warm up before going out again.

Food, drink, toilets and ski service 👍 All you need is there, that's much better than in Sjusjoen or in the birkebeineren ski stadium.

Water play. Wind play. Climb a mast. Lots of information that was exciting for both young and old, visited the center with both a 6-year-old and a 17-year-old. Absolutely the worst place to visit. Educational and useful, and very fun. (Original) Vi var innom Energisenteret i forbindelse med Hunderfossen. Her var det spill som underholdt både store og små. Prøv å gå i mørket og finn veien ut. The Olympiaparken Event, which has undergone changes since the Olympics, remains impressive. It offers a fantastic workout opportunity as visitors are advised to wear their walking shoes and hike up the ski slope. The breathtaking views of Lillehammer and Norway's largest lake make the hike worthwhile. Conveniently located within walking distance from the town of Lillehammer, this park also features a hidden waterfall among the trees that should not be missed.
Amazing experience to ride the wheel Bob down the course. Highly recommended if you can handle a good thrill ride. The staff was all super friendly and it's an experience we'll never forget.

The hike is is worth the views of Lillehammer and the largest lake I believe in Norway. Walking distance from town of Lillehammer. What a great place for big and small! We had a great day, walking around, feeding the animals and climbing. The electric cars were especially great, I think our little one went on them about 5 times before we managed to get her to do something else! We are definitely coming back!

The park is amazing but the only parking option is a complete scam for people with rental cars. The company will overcharge you as their app is faulty and does not allow you to make the payment

Kid's farm Hunderfossen is a popular tourist destination located in the scenic surroundings of Hunderfossen, Norway. It is an attraction that is well worth a visit for people of all ages, but especially families with young children. This essay will explain why Kid's farm Hunderfossen is worth 5 stars and why it is such a unique and special place. Firstly, Kid's farm Hunderfossen is home to a wide variety of farm animals, including cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, and rabbits. Children can interact with the animals and learn about their care and feeding. This provides an excellent opportunity for children to learn about the importance of respecting and caring for animals. Secondly, the farm offers a range of activities that children can take part in. There is a large playground area with swings, slides, and climbing frames, as well as a pedal car track and a bouncy castle. There are also tractor rides, pony rides, and horse and carriage rides. These activities provide children with the opportunity to be active, have fun, and learn new skills. Thirdly, the farm offers a range of educational activities that children can take part in. There are workshops where children can learn about baking, cooking, and making cheese. There are also educational tours of the farm where children can learn about the animals and how they are cared for. These activities provide an excellent opportunity for children to learn about where their food comes from and the importance of sustainable farming practices. Fourthly, the farm has a café where visitors can enjoy delicious homemade food made from local produce. The café offers a range of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, soups, and cakes. The food is fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced, making it an excellent place to stop for a break during a visit to the farm. Fifthly, the farm has a farm shop where visitors can purchase a range of local products, including cheeses, meats, and jams. The products are all made from local ingredients and are of excellent quality. This provides an excellent opportunity for visitors to support local producers and purchase high-quality products to take home. Sixthly, the farm is located in a beautiful and scenic area, surrounded by mountains and forests. The scenery is stunning and provides an excellent backdrop for a day out with the family. The farm is also located near other tourist attractions, including the Hunderfossen Family Park, making it an ideal place to stop on a family day out. Seventhly, the farm is accessible for visitors with disabilities, with wheelchair ramps and accessible toilets provided. This means that visitors with disabilities can enjoy all the activities and facilities that the farm has to offer. Eighthly, the farm is open all year round, making it an excellent destination for visitors in all seasons. During the summer months, visitors can enjoy the outdoor activities, while in the winter, the farm is transformed into a winter wonderland, with horse-drawn sleigh rides and other winter activities. Ninthly, the farm offers a range of events throughout the year, including Easter egg hunts, Halloween parties, and Christmas markets. These events provide an excellent opportunity for families to celebrate the seasons and have fun together. Tenthly, the staff at Kid's farm Hunderfossen are friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They are always on hand to answer questions and provide assistance, making the visitor experience a positive and enjoyable one. Eleventhly, the farm is reasonably priced, making it an affordable destination for families. The entry fee includes access to all the activities and facilities on the farm, making it an excellent value for money. Twelfthly, the farm offers accommodation for visitors, with a range of cottages and apartments available for rent. This provides an excellent opportunity

Very good place for the entire family. 2-3 hours should be enough. Nice waffle with hot coffee near the entrance. The kids loved the electric car ride.
Hasan A — Google review
Great experience for the wee ones (and fun for child-at-heart adults too). Almost all the animals (including deer) can be hand-fed from feed bags bought at the entrance. Letting the emu dip straight into the bag is a particular treat. An easy place to fritter away a surprising amount of time, and at a reasonable price (compared to the price of other attractions). Excellent parking at the same lot as Hunderfossen familiepark. The spaces nearest the farm are marked with banners reading "Barnas gård".

Great groomed track - even for a beginner, although there's not many signs (or maybe I missed them) so I spent some time looking for the entrance for the groomed track.

With high expectations we ski to the he stadium from Sjusjoen and met with totally closed ski stadium. The winter olympics 1994 stadium did offer zero service. Surprising as the annual ultra marsthon dki race ”Birkebeinerrennet” is two days ahead. Are there changing rooms, showers, cafe or is all vlosed?

April 2022. We parked in our motorhome overnight, which is allowed, as long as an overnight parking ticket is purchased. You can explore all the facilities including walking up the 900+ steps to the top of the 2010 Olympic Ski jump. Great view from the top. Must take big cahonies to slide down that on skis.

Beautiful place in nice area !!! Ansaat the same time closed restaurant in time of open hours for private soire. Several arogan, stupid Norway men spoil the picture and name of place.
Petr D — Google review
Really good fun. We are just beginners cross country skiing. This is a great place to start because it has a large flat area. There's enough space so you don't get in the way of more competent skiers too badly. So, so many trails, immaculately groomed. Also lots of the trails have 'streetlighting' so you can do them in the dark. Take the opportunity to watch some of the biathletes shooting. Tip: visit at night on your first visit, then visit during the day the next day. That way your 24 hour parking ticket is valid for both visits.

Lillehammer snøpark - Olympiaparken is an exhilarating destination that promises a thrilling experience for adults, while also offering some challenges for younger visitors. The excitement ramps up quickly as you navigate the high slopes, and the rush can be quite intense! With 946 steps leading to breathtaking views and nearby waterfalls, it's definitely worth the trek. Many visitors find themselves returning year after year to enjoy this fantastic park—just remember to take care while having fun!
Super fun for adults! Can be dangerous for kids. It can go faster than you think. Almost have a heart attack in the first round when it reach the first corner of high slope 😱 but the rest 20 rounds are so much fun! Highly recommend
Jodie J — Google review
Our experience at Lillehammer Olympiapark’s Snopark was disappointing due to serious safety concerns and poor communication. Would not recommend for anyone. My husband was injured when an out-of-control toboggan hit him at the bottom of the hill, resulting in broken bones and emergency surgery. While staff called an ambulance, they did not take our information, offer first aid, or manage the area to prevent further incidents—sledding dangerously continued around us even as we waited for medical help. The park lacked clear safety measures, with minimal signage (only in Norwegian) and no designated slow zones at the bottom of the hill. The staff were also laissez-fair about safety equipment, with zero order or assistance with selecting helmets that appropriately fit children. Staff were not -prepared to handle emergencies, which was concerning and disappointing. We contacted the snopark after to report the incident and share our concerns, but we never received a response. While accidents happen, better safety precautions and follow-up communication would go a long way in improving the experience for future visitors. We would not recommend this expert anyone. It is extremely lucky that my husband wasn’t hurt worst, and we are grateful it was him who was hit and not our small children who could have easily been much more severely injured or killed.
Mary M — Google review
Stay away: reckless guests, useless staff. Without warning, another rider ran his sled into me when I was standing at the base area, broke two bones in my leg (x-ray attached). Not sure if he lost control or just didn’t know how to operate the brake. Staff here did nothing. Thankful for the great care from the EMTs and the emergency room staff down the road. Hoping I can walk again soon - our visit was on 20 February 2025.

946 steps to the top, worth if for the view. Great waterfalls nearby.
Paul L — Google review
We had a disappointing experience! There were no signs for people coming by public transport, and once we got to the skilift area, there were no signs to get to the toboggan area (plus asking people around, no one could answer us on where it is). We got very few instructions on how to do the toboggan and got stuck on some of the flat parts of the slope, and it was very strenuous to gain the momentum again.
Gabriella D — Google review
Great fun and adrenaline rush ... but ... There was zero induction to the activity, you sign a disclaimer and away you go, no staff presence on the snow that I could see. The route is really gentle then REALLY not gentle, again there was no warning of this. The route was bumpy so it was hard to control and steer. Someone was prolapse on the snow in a bad way and needed emergency care, they were removed by ambulance/ stretcher on a skidoo (I hope they're okay) Communication at this point was non existent, many people were stuck on the T lift for over 30minutes getting cold, I was eventually told there were dangerous bumps that needed to be fixed, a suspiciously short amount of time was spent by a guy with a shovel then the run was open again. I think they need to improve communication considerably to improve the safety of the activity.
