Observation Decks & Towers
If you're seeking breathtaking panoramic views of Siljan, don't miss the Vidablick observation tower. This 28-meter-high wooden tower offers a stunning vantage point above Rattvik, allowing visitors to gaze upon the picturesque lake and its surroundings. For a small entrance fee, you can climb to the top for an unforgettable experience. The adjacent cafe provides an ideal spot to savor the scenery while enjoying Swedish handcrafted pieces on display.
Definitely a MUST place to visit! If you dare to climb up the small stairs of this 28m high wooden tower, you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking view on lake Siljan and the amazing surroundings. Absolutely worth the entrance fee plus you can rest your eyes on some really great Swedish handcraft pieces on the ground floor.

Dated review(April 2024) First, I would like to thank the owner(an elderly Swedish gentleman) who allowed us to visit the tower in spite of being closed for the season. The view is mesmerizing and soothing. They have a small image marking nearby towns by the lake. There are several photos explaining the history of the tower. There are some miniature houses on display, I liked those. There is a cafe, mini golf but both were closed(would reopen in summer). The houses located on the hill(around 70m high) are a pleasant view.

Nice experience, if you really want to view from top pay 35 and proceed. Or els see on the go. It’s 100 year old. Not very impressive.
Muthukumar T — Google review
Good cafe, very good prices and great views. Better views if you climb the tower. Outdoor seating available, toilets and some parking.
Ray E — Google review
Nice drive up and a good view of Rättvik. Café was not the best. Lots of waffles choices but the waiting was long unless you take the waffles buffé. Coffee was not great. It was only nice to sit in the cafe or outside because of the view.
Anne F — Google review
Unfortunately, it is opened really a few time a year: during the summer holidays only The view must be great.
Adelin R — Google review
Nice view of whole Lake Silian Sweden's third biggest lake. Climbing the tower was not as hard as I thought.

Rättviks Gammelgård, a charming old farm, is a must-visit destination that beautifully showcases Sweden's rich cultural heritage. While it’s famously known for hosting the vibrant midsummer celebrations, this historical site offers much more throughout the year. Visitors can explore around 30 traditional buildings from various eras, adorned with fascinating wall paintings and an impressive collection of vintage costumes. The cozy Café Curious on-site invites you to enjoy a delightful lunch or coffee break amidst this picturesque setting.
What an amazing place! We found historic farm buildings, a cafe and an amazing lakeside location. We enjoyed picking wild raspberries; the best! Enjoy!

(Translated by Google) Probably lives mostly on the view. The waffles were good, but the coffee rather bitter and dull. Only one staff during classic car week is a little short, as people were pouring in all the time. The buildings would probably also need a little maintenance as the condition looked quite dreary. (Translated by Google) This would have been Rättvik's pride if the right person gave the place a little (a lot) of love. So tragic that such a fine place stands and decays. The fact that it can even be said that they have mini golf is a BIG joke! I think the municipality should have stepped in and saved this place before it completely falls into disrepair.. 1 ⭐️ for the view. (Original) Detta skulle varit Rättviks stolthet om rätt person gav stället lite (mycket) kärlek. Så tragiskt att en sådan fin plats står och förfaller. Dalhalla is an extraordinary open-air amphitheater and music arena situated in a former limestone quarry in Rattvik. The venue boasts incredible acoustics, making it a popular spot for summer concerts featuring rock bands and operas. Surrounded by forest, animals, and a lake where the stage is set up, the setting provides a unique experience for concert-goers.
The most amazing venue I’ve even been to. I saw Avenged Sevenfold and everything was perfect: the sound, the stage and the atmosphere. Fun staff with the best attitude! The food in the food stands was not the best, but it was easy and fast to get and eat. The venue was AMAZING - ain’t nothing like anything I’ve ever seen before. Parking was cheap and very effective with clear instructions! - I would wish that the staff would be more clear with eg. exactly what time they will let people down to the pit/the seating area. However - this is nothing that takes away stars from the review.
Sara L — Google review
Fabulous place, a once-in-a-lifetime experience that stays with you. For an outdoor concert location, you are unlikely to do better, at least in Sweden. The acoustics are unique but I imagine the mixer still had the job cut out for him. Chess in Concert was great but somewhat shrill in places.
Ari N — Google review
A lifetime experience. Surely the most spectacular venue I've ever been to. The forest all around worth a walk as well, especially if you're here in August and you like blueberries and mushrooms ☺️.
Bertrand K — Google review
What an awesome place! It's in the middle of nowhere but the buses work wonderfully well, everything was super well organised and clear even for us, not speaking any of the language. I definitely recommend it, it's beautiful and the sound is incredible. Contrary to what they say on the website, you can bring a small bag. I saw most ladies with a small crossbody bag and I wish I had taken one too!
Marina H — Google review
An exciting concert 'hall' in an old quarry. Adequate food stalls, drink bars and other facilities. The area was clean. The concert was excellent: acoustics and atmosphere in their own class.
Helinä P — Google review
Really nice venue in an old limestone quarry. Picturesque, but also well staffed and good infrastructure. There are never enough places to sit at venues, but there was a good bit of seating. Restrooms were nice, and there is a whole food court with lots of options. Great staff, and plenty of them. I recommend bug spray and a jacket - even in Summer. I also recommend the concert buses, well worth the price.
Laura L — Google review
Incredible beautiful concert location in Dalarna's län. An old quarry turned into a concert location, with space for as much as 6000 people. The acoustics are awesome, where ever you are, you hear the music clear as can be. The only (big) minus are the food and drink prices, which are scandalously high (around 20€ for a burger, 10€ for a half litre can of beer)... Maybe it was just with this concert (I saw Heilung perform their last ceremony there), but as you can't bring any food or drink, you will have to bring plenty of money (card only). And in a place as big as this there should be some spot for people who smoke, especially with concerts (the whole location is smoke free).
Ser W — Google review

Just like your favorite roller coaster - but with the refreshing view of Siljan! It’s open in summer, and you can opt to travel alone or in twos. There was a long queue and the people working in the lift were slow. It took 1 minute to go down the hill and 30 minutes in line to get back up… note that they close the course in case of rain.

The Dalskåpsmuseum is an educational and fascinating museum showcasing cabinets from 1750 onwards. It explores the development of cabinet painting, particularly in the years of need around 1770. One notable exhibit is a milk cabinet adorned with a door mirror featuring the image of Jean Baptist Bernadotte. The museum's introductory brochure also features this impressive artwork. The collection includes a variety of time boxes on display, providing visitors with a glimpse into the past.
