Col de la Forclaz, also known as Col de la Forclaz de Montmin, is a picturesque mountain pass that offers breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Whether you choose to drive, cycle, or hike to the top from various starting points, you'll be treated to panoramic vistas and opportunities to spot paragliders taking off. The area features restaurants, souvenir shops, and viewing terraces for visitors to enjoy.
Nice col to be done on the push bike or on the motorcycle 🏍️ it gives way to an amazing view of the lac of Annecy and a very nice downhill stretch on the other side. Well worth a detour.

Perfect view of the lake. Not a long drive from the coastline. We really enjoyed sitting and just looking at the lake from the heights.
Saar P — Google review
Amazing view over the lake of Annecy. Must see when in the area.
Idan S — Google review
Stunning view over the lake, absolutely worth passing by. A small ski resort nearby the south parking - right after crossing the hill. Mind suitable clothing against windy and cold times.
Erkin D — Google review
awesome view from the lake, with several restaurants and paragliding take off spot
Eric S — Google review
Definitely make the time to visit/hike around here. Gorgeous views of the lake and you won't be disappointed.
Arjan J — Google review
Beautiful, as always. However.. be careful to pay for parking. It's easy to get distracted by the views and not realise! We took photos, had a walk, and then refreshments at one of the bar-restaurants. Then we continued down to visit the caves and waterfall of Seythenex..

Mountains
La Tournette is a 7,700-ft. mountain in the French Alps offering breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Annecy from its summit. It is a popular spot for speleologists and skiers in winter, with snowshoeing and cross-country skiing routes passing by the Rosairy refuge. The surrounding area also boasts cultural heritage sites such as historic buildings, churches, and chapels.
The Hike la Toutnette at Annecy Lake is truly breathtaking. The landscapes along the way are nothing short of amazing. When you reach the summit, you're rewarded with a stunning 360-degree view that includes not only the lake but also Mont Blanc! I highly recommend starting this hike early in the morning because, as the highest mountain around the lake, it's quite popular, and the trail can get crowded. It's important to be comfortable with both hiking and a bit of climbing since there are sections where you’ll need to hold on to a metallic rope. But trust me, it's absolutely worth it! 🏔️☀️💚
Domitilllaa — Google review
Very good - go early to avoid the circus. Easy scramble for beginners as long as you have alpine legs.
Ryan — Google review
We hiked from Les Prés Ronds car park. We read that you need to be there by 9 am to get a spot. Car park was half full at that time (off season - September 29th), so maybe worth knowing. The hike itself was demanding with gradients of up to 35% and not easy hand rail sections, yet all doable. We met dogs at the top so they must've managed too. The view at the top is absolutely spectacular. Nothing I've seen before - very emotional for us to see that kind of beauty. Above the clouds with full view onto Mont Blanc. Can recommend 10/10. Took us 3h up with little breaks and 2.5h down.
Yves M — Google review
Definitely a walk for experienced walkers. We went as a family but my parents (60yo competent walkers) got scared of the fog around halfway up and so turned around. However we carried on in quite cloudy conditions (you could always see where you were going, just not the view!). There’s a lot of scrambling/sliding. And to get to the peak is two ladders with quite a sheer drop (but they feel v sturdy!). Can imagine it’s quite spectacular on a clear day, but equally as accomplishing on a cloudy one too! Oh and there’s friendly mountain goats near the top too. Take lots of water/layers/food - temp drops around 10° from the car park to the peak. We did it quite quickly - around 4.5hours up and down including a lunch stop, but we ran all the downhill parts (signposted time is 4 hours just to the peak, maybe 2.5 extra to come down). We followed a route from alltrails but it’s also fairly well signposted all the way
Libby W — Google review
Beautiful mountain to climb! If you love to hike, you should go to the top of this mountain. The trail is rough, so take it easy. On the map there are two ways to reach the top (from chalet d aulp) at le Casset the path is splitting, if you want to be challenged you can take the left one, but this is a very hard and sometimes a little dangerous way. The path to the right is more safe. To reach the plateau on top, you have to climb some ladders but it’s totally worth it! Parking is possible at pre-Verel (large) and at Col de Aulp (small)
Sietse M — Google review
Amazing views and we saw the chamois ( goats ) it was low cloud but we broke through above the cloud and it was magical - amazing views all around

La Tournette, a mountain in the Massif in Haute-Savoie, France located above and opposite beautiful Lake Annecy where is mostly calm and considered to be quite warm comparing to mountains lakes, great for water activities (i was on the sap all week). Great hikes all around, these photo's are from the Tournette, where you drive to one of the villages under,(Montmin for ex.) it isn't easy to find the closest parking spot to start the hikes, we had to drive around small and narrow streets, but 3 times hiking and 3 times I found it at the end. The hike itself isn't too hard, we did start with a 1 hour steep descent, but the view of the Mont Blanc Ridge from up was just amazing, and lake Annecy of course. 1 hour drive from Geneva, Swiss.

One of my favorite easy hiking spots near Annecy. Perfect for a short in and out walk with a picnic. Mostly flat, but rocky terrain.

What is not to love here? It's beautiful, lush, shady in summer, (and with a fine swimming spot, which you have to yourself if you arrive before 11am) rich in color in fall and winter. Mushroom hunting is pretty decent and there are some very fine views over the lake. Heavy storms bring down huge trees that occasionally block the paths, but are eventually chopped into sections and left to decompose add they should be. In the rainy months, on several occasions, I have had it all to myself.
Wendy F — Google review
Great place for a family friendly walk. Views across the lake from the summit and the view point just below it. The trails down to Talloires are steep and slippery and best avoided unless you're sure footed.

One of the best lake city I have ever been to! Beautiful lake with mountains on one side and city on the other side. Many places to relax, swim. The best part is lake is very flat so nothing to worry about. Great crowd and very happening place.

Fantastic, very touristy nowadays but there are still some hidden gems that are quiet but you’ll need a car to find them (one was through an industrial estate so very hidden). Restaurants are great and people very friendly

This would have been beautiful in the right weather. It was just our luck that we arrived in the height of Summer, at the end of a heatwave and were met with heavy rain and thunderstorms o the water didn't have its famous greenish-blue hue. It is a lovely natural beauty surrounded by mountains.
Sarah L — Google review
I was just remembering how much we loved it there last year. My son and I rented bikes and went all around the lake. We also got a pedal boat and took a swim. Saw some young people doing a rope swing jump and did that too. Fabulous.

While it's not open to visitors, its picturesque setting makes it a popular spot for capturing beautiful photos. The castle overlooks one of the most scenic beaches along the 40km long lake, making it an ideal location for summer swimming.
Private castle, but offering a lot of charm to the scenery and beauty of the lake.

* Dog friendly * you will know this is the right place once you see a ladder going into the lake. There’s a few rocks, recommend you wear swimming shoes. The church area 2 min walk away has parking which is €3 for 2 hours

Discover one of the top attractions around Annecy by embarking on a day trip to Talloires, a charming lakeside town located on the eastern side of the lake. Easily accessible by bus from Annecy, this small town offers an idyllic setting for relaxation and outdoor activities. One can even opt for renting a bicycle to enjoy a leisurely ride. The Plage Municipale de Talloires is particularly renowned as a favorite spot among visitors.
Absolutely gorgeous lakeside area with beautiful mountain views and a springboard of about 2 metres. The water is so clear, especially to the right of the main pontoon area. Perfect place to spend a few hours to relax, even in the evening. Past 18:30 there are no lifeguards watching the board and pontoon.
Ollie G — Google review
Stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains, crystal water, shade and sun, space for ball games, shallow pools for kids, depth for diving from the 3m spring board. The only bad points - parking can be a pain and so can the volume of people. So go off peak times/days if possible.
G S — Google review
Lovely beach that is clearly popular for a reason. Lots of grassy areas to relax on and plenty of (paid) parking nearby. There is a small diving springboard, a slide and some floating rafts. There are lifeguards during the day which is reassuring. A very popular spot that is still pleasant as the sun sets.
Vicki G — Google review
The most beautiful beach with so much to do for kids! We have visited many beaches around the Entrelacs and this was our favorite. Absolutely stunning surroundings, grass, lots of shade, slide and diving boards and you watch paragliders fly by. Free beach, you pay for parking. A brilliant day out ❤️
Lovísa Á — Google review
Great place to picnic and swim, with a diving board and slide! Does get busy so recommend getting there early to secure a good spot.
Corinne T — Google review
What a fun beach. Slide in the sea and diving boards. We cycled here from Le lac blue. Lovely cycle lovely beach kids had a great time.

Usually park at the Route du Port which has 300 spaces and is free after 6pm. The backdrop scenery is stunning and lake has a diving board, floating platforms and a slide but too deep for small kids who cannot swim. There is a kids shallow pool for small children.

Little bit overcrowded but guarded by lifeguards for swimming safety. Gives you a piece of mind when going swimming with children. Good facilities, dogs friendly. You can rent paddle board and buy food and drinks.

Dents de Lanfon, located at the foot of the sharp rocky ridges and Tournette mountain, offers a charming setting for visitors throughout the year. The hike provides stunning views of Lake Annecy and opportunities to spot chamois near water points. The rocky bar, standing over 200 meters high, offers a sublime panorama of the lake. Despite its length and technical passages, it is a magnificent hike for enthusiasts. Additionally, it serves as a popular viewpoint for climbing enthusiasts.
(Translated by Google) Superb hike from Les Villards-Dessus to the northern and central points of the Dents de Lanfon, leading to an exceptional panorama at more than 1700m altitude. Attention ! The magnificent view of the central point is obtained after a truly technical end of ascent through scree slopes, handrail passages, passages in rocks and a few areas combining climbing 2-4m high. Some passages can really be dangerous if you do not take special precautions and attention when going up/down. Therefore, only go there knowingly, absolutely avoid wet weather or after rain (slippery terrain and rock), helmets strongly recommended, avoid ascent alone.

If you’re in Annecy, a stop at the Pont des Amours is a must. Nestled between the peaceful waters of Lake Annecy and the tree-lined canals of the Jardins de l’Europe, this charming iron footbridge isn’t just a picturesque viewpoint — it’s steeped in legend and local romance. The name Bridge of Love is no accident. According to local lore, if two lovers kiss on the bridge, they’ll stay together forever. Whether or not you believe in the magic, the setting is undeniably dreamy: swans glide beneath you, the Alps rise in the background, and the lake sparkles under the sun.

Perched on a hill overlooking the old town, Musée-Château d'Annecy is a restored medieval castle that has been transformed into a museum. Constructed over four centuries from the 12th to 16th centuries, it was once the residence of the Counts of Geneva and Dukes of Genevois-Nemours. The castle now houses regional sculptures, paintings, and contemporary art, offering visitors a captivating journey through time.
Especially the museum is worth to visit this castle. You get a huge variety of exciting views into modern arts, history and also geographical and natural development of the whole region. You should not miss this. The entrance fee is very fair for what they offer!
Stefan R — Google review
It is a very impressive building, and the refurbishment of it is very impressive. Lots of history and at the moment has an art exhibition, which will please a lot of people, but I am afraid I am still old school. At 6.50 euros, it is great value. WC's are available in a couple of places, so no need to cross your legs. It's a shame they don't have rides to the top, from the market, but it was very hot, 31 degrees today. 20.06.25. A great visit, thank you 😊
DJGintheforest — Google review
There’s a fair few pieces of nice work in many mediums. I’m not so much of a fan of the modern artwork, but I loved a lot of the sculptures and landscape paintings. Much prefer the museum opposite.
Angela L — Google review
It is worth the effort to walk up the short but steep hill to the chateau for the views alone but it was also worthwhile going inside. Lots of interesting art, both old and new (ish). It's a pretty cheap place to visit and you can go when it suits, no need to book ahead of time. We spent about an hour there which was more than enough. Takes about 10mins to walk there from the base of the hill on old town.
Craig C — Google review
A must-visit in Annecy! ⭐️ Beautiful, historic, and very memorable! The castle offers stunning views of the lake and mountains, and the museum inside has a fascinating collection of regional art and history.
Tran N — Google review
Great expectations… and disappointments to match As impressive as the castle looks from the outside, the visit itself was just as disappointing. I'll start with what I liked (because this list is way shorter than the one with the negative points): 1. The painting gallery, where you can admire several works (originals, according to the supervisors) by great painters, including a small painting by Fragonard and, most notably, "The Massacre of the Innocents" by Pieter Brueghel the Younger 2. The (temporary) exhibition "L’épopée burgonde" - the arrival and installation of the Burgundians in Haute-Savoie region 3. Behind the castle, there is a spot from which you can admire Lake Annecy surrounded by mountains What I didn’t like: 1. Most of the rooms in the main castle building are completely empty: no furniture, drawings, paintings, period clothing, weapons, courtly objects… nothing but cement and wood 2. An almost total lack of information — the organizers didn’t bother to put up even basic informative panels, so many tourists wandered around speculating: “this was probably where…” 3. Many areas inside the castle are not accessible to the public 4. The old shooting holes have been “completed” with modern windows, which not only spoil the charm of the building, but also prevent visitors from taking photos, as the glass is far from transparent 5. The modern art exhibition is absolutely ridiculous — in fact, it’s not art at all (I’ll upload a picture so you can judge the quality of these so-called “works”). On top of that, the exhibition takes up many rooms on the upper floor — so many that it felt like it would never end 6. The other two buildings of the complex host exhibitions that have nothing to do with a medieval castle; for example, one of them focuses on the fauna of the nearby lake and on fishing vessels… well, if I want to know more about the fish in the lake, I’ll go to a fish-farming museum or a natural science museum, right? 7. In the basement of one of the towers there are several tiny aquariums, poorly maintained and without plants for the animals to hide in; each contains a few unhappy fish swimming in endless circles 8. The crenels of the towers have also been covered with windows through which you can’t take pictures (in fact, you can’t even see properly). This is even more frustrating because some of these windows overlook the beautiful Lake Annecy 9. If you’re thinking of climbing the walls or the fortified gate, think again — access is prohibited 10. On top of everything, I stood in line for tickets for a very long time… and I really regret doing so. Final score: 2 stars, and those only for the art gallery (which could just as well have been housed elsewhere, not in a restored medieval castle) and for the exhibition dedicated to the Duchy of Burgundy. Without them, even one star would have been too generous.

A wonderful castle standing on a slightly higher point in Annecy. One of the steep hills brings you there (not too steep for a wheelchair apparently as Ive seen people go up with some help) Be sure to check it out, sometimes it even has expositions inside, also the view from the castle is excellent

Nice place to visit you can buy a multi ticket to also visit the old prison in town which takes about an hour then time for a coffee and then up the steep hill to the beautiful château. Lots to see very interesting.

Nestled in the heart of the Thiou Canal, Palais de l'Île is a captivating medieval castle and former prison that has been transformed into an art and history museum. This 12th-century landmark has served various purposes over the centuries, including as a courthouse, mint, and residence for the Dukes of Savoy. Today, it stands as a picturesque symbol of Annecy's rich history and architectural heritage.
Early September and got good weather. A bit chilly in the morning but got better later. Don't expect to see much more than what the pictures show. Very picturesque but keep in mind this was an old jail so keep in mind what you are looking at.

This is Annecy `s most popular place. It is beautiful during the day as well as in the evening when it is lighted. We also visited it inside. Entrance fee is Euro 6. However we did not find anything interesting - rooms with information and that`s all. During the years the house has had various functions: it has served as prison, court and administrative building. If you take a look at the opposite direction from the bridge in front of it the view it is even more beautiful - there is a small waterfall and nice colorful buildings.

The Palais de l'Île is a stunning piece of medieval architecture and an iconic landmark nestled in the heart of Annecy's old town. Set dramatically in the middle of the canal, it’s incredibly picturesque—perfect for photos, especially from the nearby bridges. Walking by it feels like stepping into a storybook. The museum inside offers a good glimpse into Annecy's history, including the building’s use as a prison and administrative center. The rooms are small but atmospheric, with just enough information to keep it interesting without being overwhelming. Exhibits include historical artifacts and some temporary displays that are a nice surprise. That said, it’s a relatively quick visit—about 30 to 45 minutes tops—so manage expectations if you're looking for a full-scale museum experience. Some areas could use more detailed explanations or interactive features. Still, the value is fair for the entry price, and it's worth a stop, especially if you enjoy architecture or local history. Tip: try to go early in the day or during off-hours to avoid the crowds, and combine your visit with a stroll around the charming old town.

Dark little piece of history masked as a picturesque building dividing Le Thiou. Once a medieval prison and fortified house, now a museum dedicated to the region's architecture and heritage, the Palais has served several purposes over time as a mint, an administrative center, a barracks, a elderly home, and a temporary stonemasonry school. If anything, simply an icon of Annecy’s heritage, and worth a visit for a simple picture in day or illuminated at night.

Breathtaking. Perfect for coming either alone, with friends, or in family. Many activities proposed, clean, and overall calm. The lake is a great activity and the water is overall clean. You can get delicious ice cream, swim, do boat peddaling, bike, play soccer, picnic, or just lay on the grass and chill.

We absolutely loved our trip to Annecy! I highly recommend taking a leisurely stroll along the waterfront and exploring this charming park. The views of Lake Annecy and the surrounding mountains are absolutely stunning, and the gardens themselves are beautifully maintained and wonderfully inviting. It’s the perfect spot to relax and soak in the natural beauty of this picturesque French town.

This is a lovely park right between the old town and the lake. It is large with a range of options from shady treed areas to open spaces. There is a kids playground that is fenced off. You are right by the lake with plenty of water sport options available. A nice place to eat lunch, exercise or just relax.

One of my favorite parks to visit in Europe because of the quiet and peaceful lake, the mountains behind the lake, and how clean the whole park is kept. I would personally recommend this park if you are in the area.

St Peter is nowhere to be found at the gates to this green lakeside paradise. A lovely little haven just outside the centre of old town of Annecy, providing a little respite from the tourist-heaving streets. Children’s play areas, quaint paths, thought provoking sculptures, a fountain and an enigmatic lone solar panel complete this package of fun whether providing relaxation betwixt browsing the markets, or for a safe stop to eat your gelato or lunch baguette packed full with decadent Chaussée aux Moines.

Small but beautiful park on the edge of the lake with beautiful trees, lovers' bridge over a canal and plenty of benches from which to enjoy stunning views. Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard, a historic castle dating back to the 12th century, is perched on a mountainside overlooking the village of Menthon St Bernard. The fairytale-like facade of the castle, with its pretty and alluring appearance, inspired Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle.
I truly didn’t think this was going to be worth it based on the reviews, but I was totally blown away. It is such a good deal. For €12 you get to have a tour of the gardens and beautiful views as well as a one hour guided tour. They even give you a booklet with English explanations of the room. This castle has so much history and was so cool.

Wonderful fairytale castle beneath jagged mountains, with commanding views of the lake, and a nice cafe and terrace. The interior was beautiful and fascinating. Our guide Caesar was informative and animated, providing fascinating details of the history and art in the castle. Not to be missed!
Clare R — Google review
Wonderful chateau tucked away in the hills overlooking lake Annecy. *this review pertains to the castle exterior and surrounding gardens* Allow yourself to be transported back in time and get a glimpse of how it feels to live in the Menthon household (1180 AD). The chateau is well kept and the gardens are intricately pruned with tiny little pathways surrounding a wonderful little fountain. The chateau is not particularly accessible for wheelchair users, as there is no wheelchair accessible toilet. Parking is plentiful. There is a cafe and gift shop. The gift shop contains abundant trinkets available for purchase as well as an array of tame pottery offerings. The chateau do not allow dogs, but the lady was very accommodating and not only gave us slightly cheaper tickets (€3 is the standard price for the outdoor realm) but allowed us to come in and out to tend the dog and swap who was looking after it.
Max R — Google review
We have been coming to the Annecy area for around 20 years and visited for the first time this week. It was a wet day and we missed making the most of the beautiful grounds, but the tour of the Chateau was fantastic. The guide spoke very good English and gave a fascinating history of each room we visited. You can only go around as part of a tour and you may need to wait for availability in a suitable language, but it was very well organised and we really enjoyed it. We would go again another year, but choose a better day to really make the most of the experience. We definitely should have visited before!
Neil H — Google review
The château is really beautiful, with amazing views over Lake Annecy. There’s a little café and a souvenir shop too. You can only go inside with a guided tour. Ours was in French, but we still enjoyed it—the guide added a few explanations in English here and there. Inside, you get to see the church, kitchens, bedrooms, library, workrooms, and more. The building itself is very impressive. We came on a super hot day, but thanks to the great insulation it stayed nice and cool inside, which was a relief! After the tour, we checked out the gardens. They’re pleasant, but quite small and nothing too special. I wouldn’t recommend visiting just for the gardens, but the château itself is definitely worth it.

Fascinating history and of religious importance. It's stunningly beautiful inside and high up overlooking Annecy and the lake. Highly recommended!

Walked all the way around the basilica until we reached it. Awe inspiring. It’s a newer church, but the craftsmanship of the church itself is nice. Inside the church is magical all it’s own. The garden/yard of the church must be private and the church must keep that to themselves. Well worth the visit with nice views of Annecy.

We had the pleasure of dining at L'Auberge de Montmin yesterday during our vacation, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the chef’s wife and the entire team everyone was kind, attentive, and made us feel genuinely cared for. The atmosphere was serene and elegant, and the food was absolutely exceptional creative, refined, and full of flavor. A special mention to the talented lady who prepared the non-alcoholic pairing drinks each one was beautifully crafted and thoughtfully explained, adding a unique and personal touch to the evening. A thousand congratulations to the chef, his wife, and the whole team for creating such a magical and memorable experience. A true highlight of our trip! Maha & Yousef

Beautiful location, warm hosts, and delicious food. One of our best meals in Annecy. Sandrine has the amazing people person ability to make you feel like a loved close friend. You get to have your appetizers and a cocktail outside to enjoy the beautiful view, then retire to the inside for the main courses. If you can’t drink alcohol they can make you a nonalcoholic version of their house cocktail that tastes basically like a mojito, my favorite. Highlights for me are the 2 appetizer courses with that savory cake-bread (a canelés?), tomato 3 ways dish, the veal main course with crispy caramelized onions and sweetbread, the lemon meringue dessert and the chocolate stunner at the end. A lot of other restaurants try to do the “single ingredient 3 ways” and I haven’t found them to be as successful as what I’ve eaten here. I would love to return next year for another amazing meal with them. Thank you so much!
Ellen — Google review
We had the pleasure of dining here on 6/29 for the 7:30 pm seating for our engagement anniversary. This dinner felt like a warm hug, a love story, and a true testament to an enduring marriage. We couldn’t have had a better experience. The drive to the location and Sandrine’s greeting at the doorstep was simultaneously unpretentious, welcoming, and charming! This theme was carried throughout our dining experience – this is a place that is clearly beloved, with food that shines in its simplicity and pride in local terroir. Florian is a chef that allows ingredients to speak for themselves (the sorrel was truly of note!), and Sandrine is the dulcet voice that proudly highlights her husband’s unique creativity. The non-alcoholic pairings were equally fascinating and divine – credit is due to the creator. Thank you for taking us on a journey through this storybook village you call home. We hope to pass through again someday. (P.S. I absolutely adored the darling cows and the evening cowbells!)
Laura C — Google review
A lovely 2 star Michelin restaurant high in the alps above Lac Annecy with stunning views and friendly cows munching on mountain pasture. The food was amazing - a great variety of seasonal vegetable dishes, local fish dishes, mountain lamb and some amazing desserts. Service was exceptional and a wonderful wine list with a great somm (they could have a few more sub-€100 options). But more importantly this is a passion project for a wonderful young couple striving to make a living out of their top-shelf restaurant, so they need your support - get a car, drive up the mountain and enjoy an unforgettable afternoon.

Here expect nothing less than a perfect harmony of taste and beauty in every dish! You feel welcomed on a one-of-a-kind journey in the amazing owners’ / chef’s home, up in the mountains. My partner and I are vegetarian and this place knew how to take you up in the mountains! Most dishes are inspired by the local, fresh produce grown in their farm. Overall, in entry, sipping a cocktail with the mountain view was the ultimate start, but it only gets better with the food and service throughout the night. Definitely recommend it!

Located near the Canal du Thiou, Église Notre Dame de Liesse was completed in 1851 and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It has become a sanctuary where the counts of Geneva buried their families. The church features a 16th-century clock tower and Gothic stained glass windows from the 15th century, adding to its beauty and historical significance.
Simply an amazing church in the heart of Annecy , the Architecture is simply mind blowing with its massive arches throughout the church and side alcoves . It is a special place , the alter in huge , the statues and art on the walls fantastic . As always there are simple wood pews that add to the serenity of this special place . Definitely well worth a visit when your in town .
Aidan M — Google review
Founded in the 14th century by the Counts of Geneva, the church was constructed on the site of an ancient oratory and a medieval square, near a medieval hospice, underscoring the area’s long-standing religious significance. It served as a necropolis for the comital family. During the French Revolution in 1793, the church suffered significant damage, with its choir destroyed and the building repurposed. Restoration efforts between 1846 and 1851 led to the reconstruction of the church, preserving elements like the 16th-century bell tower and a Gothic window on the south wall .

Amazing place to see. The crypt is a whole other church. Quite the walk up if you dare it. Very decorated which surprised given its younger than expected. Great views from there as well. There is a nice winding path you can take coming down. You are also very close to the Roman theatre and museum

Notre-Dame de Liesse Church in Annecy is a serene sanctuary, renowned for its miracles, particularly for women wishing to conceive. Many visitors have made wishes here and experienced the joy of pregnancy. The church features a special wall where numerous testimonials of these miracles are marked, offering hope and inspiration to those seeking to become mothers.
Lina B — Google review
The church seems preserved in its original form but does not seem to be well maintained. Requires a huge amount of refurbishment. The floors are wooden, therefore they will creek as you walk through the aisle. The stained glass windows seem to be in a decent condition but it's sad to see that the paintings on the walls and dome ceiling has deteriorated significantly.
Dr R — Google review
The church was built between 1846 and 1851 on the site of a very damaged primitive sanctuary of which certain elements have been preserved: the 14th century bell tower and a Gothic window on the south wall. In front of the church, there is a large square, surrounded by cafés and shops, called "Notre-Dame". In 1859 the town council installed an obelisk fountain with lions and turtles.

Cascade d'Angon is a stunning waterfall located near the village of Angon, offering breathtaking views of lakes and mountains. The trail is not very long but involves some climbing, making it a challenging yet rewarding experience. Along the way, hikers can enjoy beautiful scenery before reaching the 35-meter (115-foot) waterfall cascading down a rock wall into a canyon.
Wonderful experience on a weekday morning (not too busy). Take note of other reviews which mention importance of good footwear. Parking was great. Done amazing views of the lake on the walk down to the waterfall.

Lovely walk to a beautiful, breathtaking waterfall. We visited during a hot, dry July, so there wasn’t much water, but it was still very impressive. I can only imagine how amazing it must be after the rain. The path has some slippery stones, so take care while walking. It’s dog-friendly and safe for little ones—perfect for a short family walk with beautiful views. A peaceful and lovely spot to visit.

Had the greatest experience ever with my coach, Gaïl! From the ride up to the mountain to the flight itself, everything was unforgettable. Gaïl was super friendly and knowledgeable. He shared fun facts about paragliding, let me take control for a bit, and even performed some incredible aerobatic maneuvers that felt like being on a roller coaster! It was such an exciting and wholesome experience from start to finish. I highly recommend this agency and especially flying with Gaïl if you want the most unforgettable paragliding adventure🪂✨

My Husband and I had the most amazing experience - it was our first time paragliding and we absolutely loved it! All of the staff are super friendly and professional - conversation during the mini bus ride to the top put us both at ease. Instructions were clear and during the ride our pilots (Leo & Vince) talked us through the theory of paragliding, whilst pointing out key views. The tricks were super fun and the whole experience was an absolute joy! Big shout out to Vince & Leo!

All I can say is this was the best school for learning how to paraglide! Our first week of instruction was filled with safety as the number one focus. The instructors were the best in making me feel comfortable with my abilities and their knowledge in guiding me to safety with the their amazing attitudes. Thibaut V and Robin are the primary foundation to my paragliding future; I will remember their feedback and voices in my head for years to come. Thank you Les Grands Espaces for the memories and focus on making flying great for beginners.

Plage des Marquisats is a popular lakeside beach in Annecy, offering free entry and a mix of grass and sand areas. It features amenities such as restrooms, showers, and a seasonal snack bar. The wide grass strip is shaded by trees and can get crowded during the summer months due to its popularity with locals. Despite this, it provides stunning views of Lake Annecy and the majestic Alps in the background.
Great public swim area with lifeguards and safe swim area. Grass area shaded by lovely trees. Perfect for families. Rocky in parts so swim shoes recommended.

A lovely place for a swim in the clearest lake in all of Europe. The water is an amazing blue. This beach (plage) is about a 10 min walk from the edge of the old town. Take the scenic route along the foreshore and past the marina. It was a busy place when we went which was just after lunch on a Friday. It has been hot so that isn't a surprise. While it was busy there were still plenty of places to sit and relax. The beach itself is mostly grass. There are lots of pebbles on the walk into the water. Everyone is doing a funny little dance as they try to navigate getting into the water 😂. It's well worth getting into the water though. A very nice temperature especially considering it was over 30 degrees outside. There was an ice cream truck which also sold drinks.
Craig C — Google review
Small pebbly beach which is free to use, with lovely clean water to swim in. It was busy when we were there at the end of July, but found somewhere to sit in the shade. Has a fun slide out on a pontoon which the kids enjoyed. Lifeguards on duty. Sectioned out for young kiddies so they don't go too deep. Easier to get in to the left of the beach, it isn't as stony.
A G — Google review
Beautiful spotless swimming area. We found a nice shaded area on a grassy bank next to the lifeguard station, toilette and showers. Designated swimming areas for babies, young children and adults. Swim shoes recommend as it’s pretty rocky walking into the water and then turns to a weird clay/mud base. Water was lovely and the scenery is spectacular.
Aled M — Google review
A truly breathtaking experience with its stunning mountain views. The combination of the pristine, crystal-clear waters of Lake Annecy and the majestic Alps in the background is simply mesmerizing. The scenery alone makes this beach a must-visit destination. You can also rent pedal boats to explore the lake and take in the picturesque surroundings from a unique perspective. A MUST

When we Visit here, this is a corona time so only few people and us of course as a tourist was there . Its so calm feeling that it was not over crowded. We enjoyed the the View a lot. The water is really clear, it seems like its a sea.

Really peaceful place, I went there last week and there wasn’t a lot of people so it was cool and chill. There’s a great view. However I don’t know how it is during the summer period so be careful it might be packed of people at times and there is also the background sound of the road which is right next to it.

Visited this Restaurant after a hike to a beautiful waterfall in Talloires near Annecy . It was a kid friendly Restaurant as We had our two grandkids with us . I am glad that we eat here instead of the choice of Michellin Restaurants in this part of the lake . The owner/Manager was very welcoming . We were seated at a beautiful lake from location ,he even brought over blankets for the kids as they were cold. All the food as you see in the photos was fabulous , especially the Trout from the lake . The wait staff was attentive and friendly .

The small village cinema, Cinéma de Talloires, offers a limited number of screenings per week on either Tuesday or Friday evenings. While the films are shown in their original version (VO) and boast good visual quality, there is room for improvement in the sound department. However, considering the affordable price at which tickets are offered, this minor drawback can be overlooked.

Josh S — Google review
Great lakeside location with brilliant service and decent food. This restaurant is in a stunning location, being situated on the shores of lake Annecy. It makes for a great evening spot to watch the sun set over the lake. The service is fantastic, with our mains arriving in what felt like less than five minutes. The food was good, but not spectacular. There is only one toilet, which can lead to congestion, and we were not here at a busy time so I can only imagine the scenarios which may develop from time to time. The prices are high, but not extortionate for the area by any means, with most mains costing in the region of €20-25. As you approach the restaurant along the lakeside you will see a series of interesting photos that I am told are based around the general theme of “movement”. These are very interesting and make for an enjoyable stroll from your origin to the restaurant. My favourite of these was an aerial shot of some deer taken during low-angle sun, making the deer somewhat engulfed by their imposing shadows on the desert landscape in which they reside.

(Translated by Google) Pleasant walk to the fairy bridge. Afterwards, it's also very nice to get to the waterfall, but steep at times, and slippery at the end, and if people were a little nicer rather than wanting ABSOLUTELY to get past it, the walk would be more pleasant. We arrive at the waterfall only to end up not seeing it in its entirety, hidden by a rock. We arrive at the end of the route on the side of the waterfall. It’s also very pretty. I recommend. Lots of people on this site. (Original) Balade sympathique jusqu’au pont des fées. Various routes for different levels and lengths. They use an easy but safe system with the carabiner too, even my 6 y/o daughter understood how everything worked! They also have a playground for the smaller climbers. Great instruction and very helpful staff, lots of people there to help! The parcour offers the most beautiful view of lake Annecy which was the biggest plus. Only downside is the parking but I’ll post an other review for that so that this company gets all the stars it deserves!

Super nice, sort of undiscovered activity near Annecy. Does cost some money but absolutely worth it. Did the junior course and it was perfect for a 7 year old. Spectacular crossings and ziplines. About 1.5-2h of great fun
Bas V — Google review
We had an amazing time! Not only were the staff super helpful, friendly, and welcoming- they truly went above and beyond. We loved the views over Annecy from the ropes course, and wanted to spend more time there! The Grand Course was the perfect length to push us without complete physical exhaustion. At the end of the day we had planned on taking an Uber home, but had complications. We began to walk down the mountain, when our savior volunteered to drive us back to town. This worker, whose name we forgot to ask, was so kind as to take us and was incredibly friendly and we loved the time with him just as much as our journey in the mountain! This is a must see Ropes-Course, and the people are simply amazing. Worth every penny!!!

Even though in the beginning I thought it's too far and remote and too expensive- after experiencing the highest level of experience there (GP), it turned out to be an amazing experience which was both fun and thrilling to kids and adults. The lengthof the trails, the work and thought they've put in this huge and elaborated park- it's completely worth it and felt great.

Nice place for an adventure with family. Their difficulty courses cater to different age groups and is really fun. Their toilet is dirty though. Staff are nice, friendly, and accommodating.

Great Fun for Kids & Friendly Staff! We had a fantastic time at Acro' Aventures Talloires. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience welcoming and safe. The kids absolutely loved the adventure course. it took about an hour to complete all four circuits. Some parts were a bit tricky, especially managing the safety harness clips at times, but overall it was great fun and a memorable experience.

Amazing, sensational, free, surreal, magnificent - words cannot describe this life time experience! The process is very smooth with the full team from beginning to the end. The reception lady kindly lended her jacket to us and the process was explained well and professionally, our children 8 and 4 enjoyed their flights so much with Remilou and Eddy, My pilot Sam is very considerate to take care of me during the flight, his passion and humor made everything so much easier! we had many photos and videos taken as a family meeting each other in the air above the lake and mountains - thank you all for your team bringing joy and the lifetime memories to many! Hope to see you again another year!

The golf course, Golf du Lac d'Annecy, offers an outstanding experience with its breathtaking scenery and diverse range of holes. Players can enjoy both long and short holes, each offering a different challenge. The tee shots provide plenty of variety, almost enchanting in their design. The clubhouse offers a warm welcome to visitors, as does the course itself. Additionally, the proshop is well-stocked and the restaurant is superbly appointed.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful mountain route with a view of Lake Annecy. The toilets on the course are well maintained and the drinking water supply points are really appreciated throughout the course. The catering is top notch, the service times are adapted to golfers (you can still eat at 2:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.), the price is very affordable, especially the golf menu and the waiter is great! Thank you for this great experience.

(Translated by Google) It is the only golf course in Annecy. You can also get there by bus from Annecy city center. You can enjoy an 18-hole round while looking at the beautiful Pahmulreong, so if you visit, you will have a happy round. However, since there are hills, it is a must. We recommend taking a cart. Please note that the club house food, called mulligan, is also reasonably priced. (Translated by Google) Here's ChatGPT's review of our golf course! Not bad! Right? "The Lake Annecy Golf Club, located in Talloires, is renowned for its exceptional setting offering magnificent views of Lake Annecy, the surrounding mountains, and the Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard. This 18-hole course, designed in 1953 by architect Cecil Blanford, is partly located within the Roc de Chère nature reserve. Golfers particularly appreciate the quality of the course's maintenance. One visitor noted: "Superb course. Very good quality of maintenance. Very warm welcome. Restaurant as well. This course is a must-play!" However, some players mention that the course is physically demanding due to its hilly terrain and the distances between some holes. One golfer says: "The fairways are smooth, and the greens hold their shape well. It's a mountain golf course..." In summary, the Lake Annecy Golf Club offers a rewarding playing experience in a spectacular natural setting, although its course can be a physical challenge for some players. «

In some places you share the space with hiking, consideration is the maxim. Holes 5 and 6 should be explained to you beforehand. The back nine is more of a parkland type. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly; The best part is the views of the lake and mountains. We were thrilled and will be back. (Original) ein Muss für Golfbegeisterte wenn man in der Nähe ist.
