Chiesa di San Biagio in Alleghe is a stunning historical gem that beautifully frames the picturesque views of the lake. This church, which dates back to before 1200, was originally dedicated to the Holy Cross and has deep roots in the Christian community of Belluno. Its unique Greek cross plan hints at its ancient origins, possibly tracing back to the 6th century.
(Translated by Google) Beautiful church that provides a backdrop to the view of the lake. Its construction dates back to before 1200. Following a landslide and a fire in the ancient building, only the small side chapel remained which preserves inside a precious wooden statue of the Moorish Virgin with Child. Outside, on a niche in the facade you can admire the ancient statue of San Biagio to whom the building is dedicated.

(Translated by Google) It is located in the small square in the upper part of the town. Probably dating back to the 12th century, it was rebuilt several times. Its current appearance is from the 18th century. Inside, there are several works of art, including a wooden statue of the Black Madonna dating back to the 16th century, an ancient working organ, and several 18th-century paintings. A large image of Saint Blaise is painted on the façade of the bell tower. A niche above the entrance also houses a small statue of Saint Blaise, saved from a fire. From the terrace in front of the entrance, there is a beautiful view of the mountains and Lake Alleghe.

(Translated by Google) The bell tower of the church of Alleghe stands out over the town, both when seen from afar and when seen from above. At night it is even more fascinating as the church is completely illuminated. Absolutely worth visiting if you reach Alleghe.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful and welcoming church, which with its bell tower characterizes the profile of Alleghe, especially when it is dark. Inside there is a beautiful ambo carved in wood, a fake curtain behind the altar and two delightful angels holding two lamps from the sides of the church.

(Translated by Google) I am not evaluating the church itself, I value Alegue, it was where we stopped to sleep and discovered one of the most beautiful lakes and views we have seen, it is small but it is worth walking around and enjoying its short walk. (Translated by Google) Beautiful little church located in the center of Alleghe. Of ancient origin (the first testimony dates back to 1185, but the church is certainly from a previous era), modified and partially rebuilt several times also due to catastrophic events (the landslide that detached from Monte Piz in 1771 and the fire of 1899). It contains works of art and craftsmanship worthy of being admired.

MOMENTANEAMENTE CHIUSI - Serrai di Sottoguda is an impressive canyon with vertical walls, bridges, and a small church that make the entry fee worth it. The beautiful nature is interrupted by a paved road, but this makes it easy to walk with young children. Visitors can take a lovely day trip to the next village and even go on a cable car up to Marmolada mountain.
Nice walk , very easy, suitable for kids. 2 km going up the trail and then the same way back. It took us 1 hour. You have one hour free parking.

Really nice walking in nature, looks like canyon but currently closed. Access forbidden. Looks like they will open after reconstruction maybe in summer.

If you want to take a hike from Malga Ciapel through the canyon to Sottoguda, forget about it quickly. The canyon is still impassable and you can only find out about it on their website. They are probably taking their time with repairs... You can only get to the canyon there and back from Sottoguda and definitely take your own helmet if you have one. You can only get from Malga Ciapel to Sottoguda along an unmarked route on the left side of the road and on the way you will come across a relatively dilapidated bridge, so be careful, it is not in the best condition. (see photo)

Too bad they banned bicycles to ride there. The whole valley down has bicycle path but there they force you to take the main road with high speed traffic and two tunnels..

Mountains
Civetta, a stunning 3,220-meter peak in the Dolomites, is a must-visit for outdoor enthusiasts. This majestic mountain offers an array of activities such as hiking, biking, and skiing amidst breathtaking landscapes. The surrounding Dolomite range features impressive formations like Agner and Marmolada, making it an ideal base for exploring remote valleys like Val Canali and Valle di Gares.
As a life long climber and mountaineer this mountain stands out among the most impressive with it's 3k ft / 1k m north facing walls and multiple towers piercing the sky. The Civetta group facilitates dozens of climbing and easier via ferrata routes. Hikes originate from the almost all sides, refer to other sources for further intel. I recommend stopping at Val di Zoldo - Monte Civetta (hut/refuge) for a meal, drink or wifi. If you're looking for a bold hike start at the base of the ski lift on the Alleghe side (north) and gain the north side rock gully to the alpine lake heading to the south side. There's an obvious trail to the via ferrata where you can summit. If you're fit you should be able to reach the via ferrata in 2hr, after which is a toss up. Enjoy this beautiful masterpiece.

(Translated by Google) Not yet at the top; the cable car from Piani di Pezze' to Col dei Baldi is recent, in 2011; in my opinion there are too many slow chairlifts and the structure is a bit dated. I understand that the costs may be significant, but can't we really speed up travel? And that endless ski lift to Mount Palma. It is true that only in silence can you appreciate the mountains and to be honest you appreciate it even more when there are not too many people. And in Palma this happens.
Doriano I — Google review
(Translated by Google) Every year we go up as a family from the Pezze' plains to the Col de' Baldi with the cable car that replaced the previous chairlift. The route is short and the cost is honest. Any adult can bring a child with them at no additional cost. Reduction also for seniors. From Col de' Baldi you then descend along a wide and well-maintained dirt road to then climb the Civetta up to Coldai and other more challenging refuges. We went up to Coldai with three children aged 7, 5, 2 and a half. On the way back you can avoid the cable car and go down the ski slope or another path.
Cristina — Google review
(Translated by Google) I would say sufficient, the views are undoubtedly beautiful, but we chose to get a points-based ski pass, about which there is no information either on the internet or on the flyers or even at the start of the cable car, but only where they sell ski passes, because in Alta Badia they had been convenient for us, this is not the case on the Civetta, the point-based cost seems random and does not reflect the length of the ski lift. The directions to the slopes are very confusing and the map doesn't help, to go from one place to another you have to keep in mind: direction, slope number, ski lift number. I've always found it better in other areas, so I wouldn't go back here. having made the different choice to get a daily ski pass, everything would probably have gone better but just improve a couple of points to avoid creating misunderstandings: 1 points card prices also on the internet (and ascent cost) 2 map with indications of the direction of the slope 3 track number signs on the slopes turned towards the mountain, so you can see them before starting a slope, at least half were turned towards the valley and therefore useless (Original) Direi sufficiente, I panorami senza dubbio bellissimi, ma abbiamo scelto di prendere uno skipass a punti, di cui non esistono informazioni né su internet né sui volantini o anche alla partenza della cabinovia, ma solo dove vendono skipass, perché in alta badia ci erano stati convenienti, non è così sul civetta, il costo a punti sembra a caso e non rispecchia la lunghezza dell'impianto di risalita.

We visited in summer, There is nothing here for 6+ year kids. They charge 5 euro per person (just to sit). There is a restaurant next to it and they charge 2 euro person for service. I do not recommend this place.
Navya H — Google review
If you're English, or any other non Italian, you won't be welcome here, avoid at all cost!!! We intended for our kid+grandma to spend the week playing here whilst my wife and I went snowboarding, but we were so put off on the first day because of the foul attitude of the lady working there, we didn't go back. She was miserable, unaccommodating, and altogether so rude, you definitely won't want your child to spend any time here. They need to hire some new staff who actually like kids and want the business from tourists...

(Translated by Google) A place with a breathtaking view!!!! The lake is very nice for children, but the rest is less interesting. There are few wooden games, and more plastic for small children. You pay €5 per child! The indoor hut is convenient for having lunch or just a drink upon arrival! Parking is very expensive. Alternatively, you can take the cable car, but I think that's expensive too! The Civetta Adventure Park trail can also be reached from there.

Located in the midst of nature, there are numerous recreational options (a slide with a tube, children's games, a sensory trail, a forest trail, a slackline, and a small climbing wall). Highly recommended! (Original) Bellissimo posto e ben curato! Consigliatissimo!

We accidentally sat on some deckchairs that weren't included and were sent away as if we were trying to steal something. The place is supposedly nice but poorly organized. The games are hilarious. (Translated by Google) It's not very big, but there are some fun things for kids, but compared to places like Navegal Park Camping (1 euro per child, and all parents are free), it's relatively expensive and small. The view of the surrounding mountains is beautiful, and the pond is nice to take a dip in, but don't expect too much. Important to know: - Entrance is 5 euros per child, and oddly enough, only one adult per family is allowed free. This means that families with two or more children are better off splitting up and entering separately. You'll save 5 euros, and both adults are free... strange policy! - Parking is relatively expensive, 2.5 euros per hour or 15 euros per day. Currently, you can only pay with coins, and even though the parking meters are generally compatible with debit/credit cards, it doesn't work (yet?)!

Piani di Pezzè is a fantastic destination for families, offering excellent skiing opportunities and a perfect place for kids to learn. The base area features a variety of pistes suitable for different skill levels, allowing parents to enjoy their own skiing while keeping an eye on their children. With 80km of slopes, the area provides ample skiing opportunities. Additionally, the surrounding landscape is ideal for leisurely walks with stunning views of the Civetta mountain.

Excellent skiing for families. For kids its a perfect place to learn skiing. The base is level is surrounded by a baby piste as well as successively more elaborate pistes. As the ski school and the regular pistes all come together at a similar spot, parents can enjoy quite some skiing and look up their kids from time to time. The 80km slopes are generally fine but if not with small kids, after a day or three the area has given its best.

It's especially beautiful in the winter. Easy to find and for us it was easy to park as no one else was there at the time. The parking lot has enough space for 4-5 cars. The waterfall is a short walk from there, I'd say about 2-3mins.

I went there during hot summer day and it was very refreshing. There are around 6 parking lot available before the hike. And then we hiked around 10 minute to the viewing point and another 5 minute to waterfall. Our kids like to play with scattered stones, building a bridge or just play in shallow river below the waterfall. The waterfall pool is not too deep maybe we can swim there too. I am not sure.. And becarefull with the slippery gravel road during your descent, you need to have a proper shoes.

Very nice waterfall during the winter. The road is very slippery and icy, so you should bring spikes

Nice waterfall with free access. About 20 min walk from the town. Parking behind Hotel Barance and follow the signs. The path is easy, but ... goes up. Not to miss amazing viewpoint to the lake along the trail.

20 min. climb from Masaré, quite steep but worth it! Amazing waterfall but be careful when you come close, rocks also fall down because of the water.

A beautiful waterfall with great view of the valley below. We hiked up there with our girls (6, 3) and they made it up and back down without a problem.

Very short walk from Masare. I suggest to visit this waterfalls because it is fascinating. We went on a light rainy day and there were no dangers during the walk. You can also stop at the panoramic view but it is a pity it is dirty from all the people walking there.

Short hiking with nice big waterfall at the end and you can go totally close to it.

(Translated by Google) Col or Cima Coldai to give something extra to the "usual" trip to the lake of the same name below. the climb up to the lake from Col dei Baldi (Alleghe) or from Pala Favera (Val Zoldana) can be defined as easy and for everyone, ideal for families or for those approaching the mountains for the first time, another matter is Cima Codai, this it requires surefootedness and no fear of vertigo, the last quite exposed stretch is classified as grade 1 climbing. from the top near the two crosses twisted by the elements the view is incomparable (Original) Col o Cima Coldai per dare un qualcosa in più alla "solita" gita all'omonimo laghetto sottostante. la salita fino al lago da Col dei Baldi (Alleghe) o da Pala Favera (val Zoldana) si può definire facile e per tutti, ideale per famiglie o per chi si avvicina per le prime volte alla montagna, altro discorso è Cima Codai, questa richiede passo sicuro e assenza di vertigini, l'ultimo tratto abbastanza esposto viene classificato come arrampicata di 1° grado. dalla cima vicino alle due croci contorte dalle intemperie la vista è impareggiabile

(Translated by Google) Cima Coldai with a view of the lake of the same name and the Civetta peak, is a beautiful panoramic point above the Sonino al Coldai refuge. The summit is not difficult to reach and does not require particular effort, although attention and respect are required for the last 100 meters which require easy climbing on small rocks with a path that becomes increasingly exposed. From the lake it is possible to reach the top in about 20 minutes, the route is always clear and signposted. Starting from Pecol, reaching the summit requires a difference in altitude of approximately 1000 meters D+. As with all mountain itineraries, attention, prudence, experience and suitable clothing are required.
