The Cheyenne Depot Museum is a captivating all-ages attraction dedicated to the Union Pacific Railroad. Housed in the historic 1887 Cheyenne Depot, it offers a glimpse into the golden age of train travel and the role of the railroad in shaping the American West. Visitors can explore photographs, artifacts, and documents that chronicle life in Cheyenne during the railroad boom of the late 1800s.
I really had a great time at this museum and learned so much! The signs are very text heavy, and probably would not be of interest to younger visitors, but they do provide a great deal of background and context for the artifacts in the museum. A trip to this museum really showcases the train history of Cheyenne and how important the union pacific railway and depot were to the growth of the city. I think kids would like this museum quite a bit. There is a train for them to play with downstairs and an extraordinary model train upstairs. The observation deck on the second floor gives you a fabulous view of trains as they enter and depart the train yard. The $10 adult admission price was more than fair. We spent about an hour this museum. There’s plenty of parking and there are clean accessible restrooms on the floors.
LS S — Google review
Definitely stop by even if you aren't into trains. Very insightful. Down side is there weren't any trains to look at or tour. So kinda of a let down. The other big boy was at a park a few miles away and fenced off and homeless people hanging around so had to make it quick to see the train.
Scott N — Google review
Small museum inside the historic Cheyenne Train Station. The museum only covers a small portion of the station with the large waiting room coming the most sq feet. This makes for a great quick stop if you are in the area.
Adam C — Google review
This museum is full of information related to building the Union Pacific through Wyoming and its historical operation. A great HO model is upstairs. Adults are $10. Plan to spend 90 minutes there.

Excellent! Great overview of the overland train history- very educational. REALLY excellent coffee shop downstairs.

Great a really nice display of train stuff and a model layout on the second floor.

Cheyenne Botanic Gardens is a must-visit destination in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Situated at the heart of the city, it offers diverse landscapes and a solar-heated conservatory. The gardens showcase an array of plants, trees, and medicinal herbs in sprawling collections. For families, there's a play area for kids to enjoy.
Awesome place to visit! They have a great collection of plants and have had a scavenger hunt every time we have been, which adds to the fun! Definitely recommend the stop!
Brantley A — Google review
We very much enjoyed our visit. The children's garden outside was magical, popping with so many beautiful beautiful flowers and plants. Inside was like stepping into a tropical rain forest type climate with so many exotic, interesting plants to look at and learn about. This place is an asset! It's free! Donations are appreciated. 😉
Jessica F — Google review
An indoor greenhouse and outdoor children's garden with sandbox (includes trucks and tractors), many water features including a water wheel a push/pull bridge, small wading and splash area, vegetable and fruit tree garden, and so much more. Highly accessible even for those using mobility devices or strollers. Multiple bathroom locations. Children's storytime on Saturday mornings. A diverse giftshop, refillable water station, and more.
Amber W — Google review
Nice gardens to stroll around, interesting rotary feature. Lake was giving beautiful cloud reflections as we watched the geese. The children’s garden was exceptional .
Catherine S — Google review
Beautiful botanical garden and free! It’s small but well manicured and delightful walking around inside and out. There’s a rooftop overlooking the grounds, and lots of places to sit and relax among the plants. Cheyenne is a nice city.
Emily S — Google review
A friend took us to the Botanic Garden one weekend and we loved it so much we brought my daughter and her family the next weekend. Such a beautiful and diverse environment. Absolutely love the view from the 3rd floor terrace.
Brenda H — Google review
Beautiful indoor gardens with art exhibitions and activities. Children's garden is magical and Aaron makes Friday storytime and crafts so much fun for my grandkids. And it's FREE!
Sharyl W — Google review
Free botanical gardens. I preferred the conservatory over the exterior landscape. Conservatory has 3 levels to explore (stairs & elevators) with nice water features. Highlights for the exterior landscape were the Peace Garden, Perennial Garden, and the labyrinth.

The Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum is a historical treasure trove located in the heart of Cheyenne, Wyoming. This annual festival celebrates the Wild West and attracts over 200,000 visitors each year. The museum showcases an extensive collection of carriages, Western American art, cultural artifacts, and historical clothing. It also offers a glimpse into the world's largest outdoor rodeo held at Frontier Park.
Air Show, Parade, and Native American Village were excellent. Can't do all of Frontier Days in one day. Lots to see and do. Definitely a good plan to go to in 2026.
Walter G — Google review
An easy break from driving ... hostess was very sweet and have us plenty of information of the museum and suggestions!! We have been driving several hours, so this was a pleasant respite. Small museum didn't take much of our time but it gave us exactly what we needed to take a break. Really enjoyed seeing the old carts from the wagon trail as well as the art on display. They didn't have a small store but it was kind of disappointing to see that most of the materials in the store were made in China. If they were more authentic I would have bought something but that is just me. It did not deviate from the enjoyment however.
Amanda H — Google review
Great place to tour around! Lots of cool statues and murals showcasing the culture and history of Cheyenne WY! Looking forward to seeing the Indian village that is being built.

Learn about the Cheyenne rodeo and Frontier Day. Small but enjoyable Museum. Chat with the employees who have lived in this area their whole lives. Loved it!

Had a good time. Lots to see. Definitely recommend a visit!
D D — Google review
The museum and hall of fame were okay. It's not very big. The stagecoaches were very interesting though and the staff was friendly. I was impressed with the size of the gift shop, they had so many high quality items. I am CFD's is much better during the rodeo. 3.5 stars is a more accurate rating for my experience.
Owen R — Google review
The museum was pretty good. I don't know how they left out barrel racing all together? Nothing, not one thing about it. I believe they included it as a rodeo event as long ago as 1906. May be wrong on the date, but they have definitely contributed to the attraction of rodeos and have definitely earned a place in the museum.
Janet H — Google review
Great space for history! Lots of exhibits, tons of helpful information, great historic displays of eeally iconic things! We performed there for a project about the life of Nellie Tayloe Ross and they were incredibly wonderful and accommodating for our theatre!

The Wyoming State Museum in Cheyenne offers a comprehensive look at the state's rich history, culture, and natural heritage. Established in 1895 and funded by the state government, this museum is dedicated to honoring Wyoming's past while also celebrating its present and future. Visitors can explore a wide range of exhibits, from showcasing the National Park Service to delving into the state's topography and highlighting local artists.
The place is kinda old, a bit dusty. But the experience was good. I met this old man with his daughter, they seem to enjoy the place a lot like they haven’t been in a museum for a while.
Aaron A — Google review
They have a diverse collection of exhibits showing you the history, nature, and culture of Wyoming. They have a scavenger hunt and daily "outlaw" you search for while there to encourage involvement and add extra fun. We have enjoyed it every time we go. Plus it has been free!
Brantley A — Google review
Fantastic museum with everything from dinosaur bones, taxidermy wildlife, settlers history, geography of the region, some powerful native American stories, to more modern events and contemporary pieces. Great gift shop to!
Keenan — Google review
Good museum to learn to about Wyomings history. It's just not the biggest, so don't count on spending hours there. The layout of the museum also wasn't really chronological, so there really wasn't a right way to go through it. Admission is free, which is a big plus.
Axel S — Google review
What a great museum. The layout was amazing. It's very clean and organized. And the scavenger hunts make it even more educational.
Mark M — Google review
There is a LOT to see here. If you are a thorough museum attender, it will take about 3 hours. Completely free, clean, and lots for kids to interact with.

This ninety-minute tour takes you on a loop from the Cheyenne Depot to notable attractions such as the Nelson Museum of the West, Wyoming State Museum, Wyoming State Capitol, Botanic Gardens, Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum, and Historic Governors Mansion.
Darrel was the best tour guide! He was so kind and he knew so many interesting stories about the history of Cheyenne! I had a great time on the tour!
Jacqueline N — Google review
We had some time while in the area so booked the trolley tour. It was a great way to see and learn more about Cheyenne’s history!
Megan S — Google review
We decided last minute to hop on the Trolley last night for the scary, creepy tour, and I'm so glad we did! I learned so much, and the narrator was spectacular; she kept us all engaged. Thank you to the driver and our fellow passengers for putting up with the chatty group I was part of. I would definitely recommend a trolly ride if you're ever in town!!!
Toni B — Google review
The tour guide was very nice. We were comfortable on the trolley. It was warm, but there were fans. Some info was very interesting- but a bit more than my taste on architects and architecture. Some facts quite cool to learn - Normandie Hotel, etc. But not enough on that kind of history. Much intricate info on many church constructions - I would have liked to have seen more than we did. It was just not as interesting as others we have done.
Marla Z — Google review
Darrel was phenomenal! Thank you for teaching us about Cheyenne history. My mom and I really enjoyed the tour. Cheers from Bolivia 🇧🇴

We had so much fun on the Cheyenne Haunted Trolley Tour! The narrator and driver were so knowledgeable, fun and interactive! I also just love seeing the Trolleys around town throughout the seasons. It’s great to know that people are learning such cool history about our sweet little town!

Government Buildings
The Wyoming State Capitol, located in the heart of Cheyenne, is a stately government center with impressive architecture. Built between 1886 and 1890, it features a striking facade and a glittering golden dome towering over forty meters high. Constructed of locally quarried stone in a grand classical style, the building is open for self-guided tours on weekdays. Visitors can explore its elegant interior spaces including the rotunda with its stunning stained-glass dome.
We walked through the main entrance and were greeted by this sweet lady (I think her name was Bonnie), like it was her home and we had been invited to visit. She was full of info about the history of the building, the materials used (for marble from two states, one of which included fossils), the wood used in the railings, and that Wyoming was the first state to give women the right to vote, among many other things. This welcome set the tone for our enjoyable visit. We spent almost two hours wandering the halls, and the chambers for the Senate and House, appreciating the artwork everywhere, including the Four Sisters sculptures. This building is ADA compliant, and is rich with colorful and fascinating stories. It is free to enter, and open on weekdays. We are happy we came to learn about this building and its history. We are not from Wyoming, but it was well worth our time.
Dan P — Google review
Loved this experience. Wife brought me into Cheyenne from fort Collins while visiting family. Got to check another state off my list and as we were driving in saw this amazing building. Stopped to take pictures and found out you could do a self-guided tour. The lady at the information desk was super helpful, absolutely wonderful, and a beacon of sunshine she and her just to go in to the offices that weren't in use and see the courts and where the representatives meet and all of it was absolutely amazing. To know that it had recently been restored and they had just opened a new exhibit for people on the bottom floor the week before made it feel really special. I loved the statues that they had around the rotunda and all the stained glass as well as the pictures in the corners of each of the large rooms representing the history of Wyoming. Best of all this is free It cost nothing and you learn a lot of history including seeing all the previous governors from their portraits hung on the walls.
Michael S — Google review
Very beautiful capitol, with a lot of wood architecture. I definitely recommend asking for a brief history lesson on the building, otherwise you might miss the Nautilus shells in the floor, and the old vaults in the basement. There is a lot of stained glass throughout the entire capitol, and very cool statues. You can easily spend an hour or 2 in there. Plus the bathrooms are clean.
Sadie K — Google review
The Wyoming State Capitol is a beautiful and historic building in Cheyenne. Even though it was closed on the day we visited, we were still able to walk around the grounds and enjoyed seeing the impressive bronze statues outside. The architecture itself is worth a stop, and the grounds are well kept. I’d definitely like to come back when it’s open to explore the inside it looks like it would be a great experience.
Mitch W — Google review
It's definitely a really cool historical building to visit. It has so.mich information on Wyoming, the government and how we came to be a state. There were many statues and paintings alongside just about every wall and the person giving out tour was kind and informative
C. L — Google review
I travel in an unplanned and spontaneous manner. I’m driving through from DC to Idaho… I stopped at Starbucks and asked what I should see locally that is architectural interesting. A lovely woman said see the capital as it underwent a huge restoration. It does not disappoint. It was open at 9 AM on a Saturday morning and I had the place to myself. The building was constructed in phases. It is beautifully scaled, and a fine example of early 20th century neo classic Western United States architecture. The exhibitions and the amenities rival any big city historical and architectural exhibition.I can say that because I’m an architectural historian lol. Well done Wyoming I recommend you highly.
Jeffery H — Google review
The capitol is small but beautiful. There are no guided tours but there's someone from the tourist front desk introducing some fun facts about the building (like the 4 statues etc) and guiding you directions of where to pay attention to.
Chin-Hsuan C — Google review
As a photographer, I was blown away by how beautiful the interior of the Wyoming State Capitol is! The architecture, marble details, and Warm light make it such a stunning backdrop for portraits. Every corner of the building offers unique character — from the grand staircases to the intricate ceilings. The staff was also welcoming and helpful about photography guidelines, which made the experience even better. A truly elegant and historic space for timeless photos!

The Nelson Museum of the West in Cheyenne is a notable attraction showcasing an extensive array of cowboy, Native American and military artifacts. The facility boasts a significant number of exhibits, including firearms, arrowheads, spurs and taxidermy. Visitors can access all three floors via an elevator at this affordable venue that houses some of the best examples of Western history from the region.
Informative and timeless place to learn about Western history. If you are not fond of taxidermy, avoid this post and establishment. Lots and lots of animals from all over the world are here to see, and taxidermy is done well on each one, in my opinion. Military soldiers, early Indian, early settlers, and creative artists' items are visually pleasing. Around 15 dollars and 3 floors of history. Handicapped friendly place to see our nations history.

Nestled in the heart of Cheyenne, the Wyoming Historic Governors' Mansion State Historic Site invites visitors to step back in time and explore the lives of those who once called it home. This beautifully preserved residence served as the official dwelling for Wyoming's governors and their families from 1905 until 1976. The mansion showcases a captivating blend of architectural styles, particularly its striking Colonial Revival design featuring grand Corinthian columns and an impressive portico.
Very fun experience, like walking back in time and learning the history of this mansion. Many items from the 70’s and before. Some of the rooms were very beautiful and it was interesting learning about how people used to live and what products and technology were in use. My favorite rooms were the sun room on the third floor and the fallout shelter in the basement! Definitely a must visit for all the history lovers out there!

What a cool step back in time to learn about the history of this place and the people who lived here. Our guide/greeter Terri gave us all the info we could absorb, including several fun and interesting stories about the families of these governors. I'm glad we visited this free piece of history.

Perhaps the most interesting & eclectic governor's mansion in the USA. Different rooms evoct the furniture, style & memories of different eras from the the early 1900s to the 70s/80s when the last first family moved out. A fascinating series of time capsules. Plus a warm Wyoming welcome & it's free! Thank you WY!.

Cheyenne Frontier Days is a renowned annual event that proudly boasts the title of the World's Largest Outdoor Rodeo and Western Celebration. Since 1897, this festival has been drawing in thousands of visitors for over ten days of thrilling rodeos, exhilarating races, lively concerts, and vibrant parades.
This is a fun experience- either the fair section ($5! Entry!) or the rodeo. I believe you need To pay for ride tickets and of course food. So entry fee isn’t too high. So many places to shop, plenty of dancing, the rodeo was fantastic! It was enjoyable! Seemed like almost everyone was enjoying their time there too.
MtZ R — Google review
This was my 1st time attending Cheyenne Frontier days. I give my overall experience an "A," the park and ride is definitely the way to go. I got there at open and didn't leave until they shut it down. Everything remained clean (even restrooms), rides were functional, well organized. I was able to attend the rodeo itself and that was cool to see in person. My only issue was the price of the concessions. Price does not equal value.
Jessica M — Google review
Visited the carnival on 7-26-25. They had a lot of rides to choose from, for all ages and comfort levels. There are classic rides like 2 Ferris wheels and a carrousel merry-go-round. My photos are from the Ferris wheel. The food and drink choices are pretty pricey, but that’s to be expected for this type of event. 20 oz Dasani water was $4.50 and 1 liter water was $6.50. One-day wristbands are unlimited all day for $46.17 per person, regardless of age.
Tonya D — Google review
Spent 3 days in Cheyenne so we could attend 2 days..semi and finals. Loved every minute of it. Highly recommend. The shipping was great for some amazing items too. Will definitely come back in the future

Roping and riding is what this Rodeo is about. Really enjoyed the Indian village with original Teepee’s. They had their last dance which I was able to participate in. They are building a new village facility for the rodeo next year.
Carlena P — Google review
Made it to one of my concerts at Cheyenne Frontier Days. The wife and I went with a small group of friends. We made the decision to purchase terrace tickets #TunesOnTheTerrace. Such a good decision. Only “issue” was the trip back to the parking lot, the line was VERY long. Could’ve been handled a little better. Will be back to the terrace again!

Great Rodeo and always fun! I love the atmosphere and energy during CFD! It can be crowded and weather can have a mind of its own so be patient and prepared, but it is definitely a great time!

Big Boy Steam Engine 4004, the largest steam engine in the world, is on display at Holliday Park. This massive locomotive, one of only eight remaining in the country, was built in 1941 with a unique 4-8-8-4 wheel arrangement for hauling heavy freight over the Wasatch Mountains between Wyoming and Utah. The park offers ample parking and a pleasant area for walking and kids' activities.
If you're reading this, you probably already know what the big boy is. For anyone new, this is one of the world's largest steam engines. It was used to transport large amounts of freight across the plains and deep into the Rockies. With only a few made, this was one of the candidates to be restored as part of the Union Pacific steam program. It was not picked and has a great display in a city park. If you are in town or even passing by, stop and see one of these amazing feet of engineering before they had computers.

Kept driving past this beast! Had to pull up and check this big boy out! Simply amazing piece of history! Highly recommend stopping and snapping some photos and reading the back story!
Shawn J — Google review
We initially read about this engine in North Platte, Nebraska. Seeing it in person does make you appreciate how massive it is described! 1.2 million pounds is unfathomable.
Kyle K — Google review
We didn't get to go on the train but it was interesting to see and read about. That Holliday Park was a great spot to stop for a picnic lunch with our granddaughter on our road trip to Mt Rushmore

Must stop if traveling through Cheyenne to see this impressive piece of steam engine history. Free exhibit in park. Nice place to take a walk around as well.
Paul P — Google review
Just a train in a park but boy what a train. This is totally worth the stop! Seeing from the road doesn't do it justice walking up and seeing how massive it is is truly impressive

Stopped by to see this giant of a locomotive! Wow!! I'm so glad that I got to see this!! The drive wheels on this train are massive, the whole thing is simply awe inspiring!

Easy to get to, fun to see, and close to the State Capital and old town district. It’s in a nice park with a lake, playgrounds, and picnic shelter.

Specialty Museums
The Cowgirls of the West Museum in Cheyenne was established by five local women who wanted to highlight the often overlooked stories of women in the pioneering West. The museum showcases artifacts, clothing, and tales of courageous cowgirls who played a significant role in shaping the Western frontier. It also features a gift shop for souvenirs. The museum pays tribute to rodeo queens, suffragists, and homemakers who contributed to Wyoming's progressive women's voting rights.
Delightful! So well done! The staff is absolutely wonderful & inviting. You'll learn so much after a brief 30 minute walk through. The subject matter is diverse and uncommon. You'll experience history in a way not typically seen in other museums. And all up-close and personal. Please do donate to support this charming exhibit.

Where do I begin?! As soon as you walk in, you are greeted into such a welcoming atmosphere. They have a plethora of displays to look at. My particular favorite were the hair combs displayed on the wall. They have a little movie area that you can sit and watch videos of Cheyenne's past. It is a small museum but believe me, there is a lot to it and it is very thorough.

Closed on the last Sunday of Frontier Days. Such a disappointment. Internet showed it was open. We drove 1 hour extra just to stop in. Thought for sure with all the festivities going on in Cheyenne, it would be open. Be sure to call first before going. Local shop owners we spoke to later thought it was odd they weren't open

Make sure to take time to read the information they have for the Ladies of the West. We were all so happy we stopped in to see it. And the shop next door was very nice and the folks working there were very informative and just lovely folks.

Holliday Park in Cheyenne is a scenic gathering spot offering lush green fields, playgrounds, sports facilities, and an art center. One of its main attractions is the vintage steam train named Big Boy, an authentic coal-powered locomotive that played a significant role in the history of the Transcontinental Railroad. The park also features a beautiful lake at its center and provides amenities such as restrooms, picnic areas, and well-kept foliage.
Came to the park to relax, do a little flying and just check out the park for the 1st time and it was Really Nice! 🙂👍🏼 Lots to do for both Adults and the kids and definitely worth coming to if you're in the area! Very nice walking track around the pond, plenty of places to picnic or BBQ, play Basketball 🏀 or Tennis 🎾 lots of playground equipment for the kids and just all around a nice clean park. (As far as I could tell)

Good little park for kids and for a good walk on sunny days. It has enough provisions for kids to be busy. Paved roads around the lake for a brisk walk with your four legged friends. I some dog and duck droppings everywhere.

Very nice park in Cheyenne I’d usually go there to feed the ducks walk around the lake a few times. It nice and quiet at the park on a cold grey winter day. Nobody around.

Lovely park. Beautiful colors and foliage. Lots of places to sit and watch the critters, ducks, geese, and the water...only problem was I found only 1 bathroom and it was on the FAAAAAAR side of the park. They have a beach volleyball area, but no net, an area with a bunch of Horseshoe pits, a playground near the art building for little tots and on the other end, by the tennis courts is a playground for the bigger tots that looks kinda like a castle. They have an area for working out as well right next to the bigger tot playground. It's tucked back from the bigger traffic areas, so it's pretty quiet.

Nice and clean park in the spring. The giant steam engine is great. The pond/lake got turtle and ducks. I think there is no restroom in the park, the adjacent art studio posted a sign “No public restroom”!!!

The Paul Smith Children's Village at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens is a captivating and educational destination for families. Named after a former board member, this interactive garden features a windmill, teepee village, and educational plantings that engage young visitors. The village was established as part of the WPA job-training program during the Depression era. Kids can enjoy playing in the shallow water, exploring teepees, and crossing small bridges while learning about plants and nature.
I visited just a week or two before the first snow. Perfect day, plants were thriving and my kids had a great time. There are activities like finding fairies that “live” in the garden for kids to do to keep them engaged. Get a the mug shots of the fairies at check in desk.

The Botanic garden was beautiful. Great free experience. Donation box at the beginning of the village. The kids enjoyed the interactive area to play. There was a small bridge where the kids could go and play and pull themselves across. The kids could hop in the shallow water and play. The Cheyenne Little Theater players is a great organization! The architecture in the historic Atlas theater is amazing. The original tin ceiling is still in the lobby area. The plays that are put on by the Cheyenne Little Theater players at the atlas theater and at the Mary Godfrey contribute a great deal to the Cheyenne area. More people should go watch their plays and support this organization. The old fashioned melodrama is one of the highlights of Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Nestled in the heart of Cheyenne, The Metropolitan Downtown stands as a modern culinary landmark that offers all-day American dining. This sophisticated venue features a stylish bar and private dining rooms, making it an ideal spot for both casual meals and special occasions. With its Art Moderne architecture and original 1930s terrazzo flooring, the restaurant exudes charm while serving up an innovative New American menu crafted by Chef Juan Coronado, a graduate of Johnson & Wales culinary school.
Cool spot! Great food options! Kinda fancy! I should have worn a button up shirt 😆! I got the angus beef hamburger, added avocado, bacon and satiated onions. Super yummy and delicious! Big hamburger! Cooked perfectly! Good choice of buns they use! I also got the pokie appetizer, which was really good, but super small for the price! The ahi was sliced very thin. It would be better if they were thicker slices! But at any rate super good!! I also substituted my french fries, for truffle fries! Which were very good to you! I would definitely be back in order the same thing! Service was very nice and prompt! You can tell the restaurant is very well ran! Good size bar! Plenty of drink options! Happy hour too!

8/23 Four for dinner. We did not have reservations. Hostess checked with management about seating us. We were seated. Water came immediately. Ordered drinks, margarita, Manhattan, and a beer. Food: 2 soups, 1 spicy Italian sausage and 1 tomato bisque. 2 Caesar salads. Server brought 3 salads and 1 soup. Asked for tomato bisque, but server brought spicy Italian, which is fine. Soup was hot and delicious. Caesar dressing is some of the best I've had in quite some time. Entrée: Steak and shrimp rigatoni, filet asked for well done, met burger for well done, and ribeye medium. Filet was medium, ribeye was well done, all sides were served cool. Ribeye returned to kitchen and another served. 2nd ribeye served was hot and cooked properly. Sides still not hot. Server did remove ribeye from our bill without us asking. Dishes weren't cleared after salads and water glasses weren't refilled unless we asked. We don't know if establishment is short staffed, but this is the last time we'll visit The Metropolitan.

So Disappointed — This Place Isn’t What It Used to Be I used to love this restaurant. It was my go-to spot for good food, good service, and a great vibe. But lately, it’s gone completely downhill. The food tastes bland and rushed, the portions have shrunk, and the quality just isn’t there anymore. The staff used to be friendly and attentive — now they seem checked out and overwhelmed. It’s honestly sad to see such a great place turn into such a letdown. I kept hoping my last visit was just an off night, but after a few tries, it’s clear this place has lost what made it special. It's under new Colorado management and I wish people would stop trying to Colorado our Wyoming!!! The hours have changed the food the service has all changed unfortunately! The staff just looked overwhelmed stressed and exhausted and I hope things get better for them!
Naomi A — Google review
When this restaurant first opened it was my go to for prime rib and awesome vibes. The last two time we went there, there is obviously a personnel change in the kitchen and or management. I ordered prime rib last time. It was more like a rib eye and pretty tough too. This morning I ordered a carnitas skillet that came out big enough to feed two or three people. With a pile of pulled pork. The green chilly was lacking in flavor and the potatoes were under cooked and mushy. The corn tortillas were fried to a crisp. Not a fan as I like a more traditional plate when I order carnitas. The Bloody Mary was mediocre and service was lacking. It took a solid 30 minutes to get our food and the wait staff rarely came by. It was not busy in any way. One other patron got up and left he Was tired of waiting. I am disappointed because I really liked this place and don’t think we will be returning. I’ll go to Colorado if I want a good steak. Their competition rib and chop is equally as disappointing.

Great venue for events! It's cozy, but also large enough to fit an audience! Beautifully adorned with (cedar?), it's a lovely building. The venue is great if your presenting/entertaining. If you have to be a spectator and sit in the seats in the audience, I feel sorry for you. The seats are trashed, its like sitting on piles of rocks. No bueno!! Time to buck up and replace the seating already!!!

The symphony was absolutely wonderful. The staff was on point and friendly. The venue (orchestra) was more than I anticipated, for some reason I had low expectations. However was top notch. I will go back and maybe get season tickets. Also not a bad seat in the place unless you are by the rails in balcony. I recommend going for concert or symphony orchestra!

This is a very nice venue with plenty of parking nearby. The concessions are limited but well priced. We saw the Commodores here and enjoyed a wonderful show that took us back to the heyday of the 70’s music by the best dance band of the time!

Everyone was so helpful. Walked us all the way to our seats. Coat check. Great concession prices. Comfortable seating. Sound was amazing!
Kari H — Google review
We absolutely loved the show! But we couldn't see a lot of it from our seats because parts of the performances, as well as the large screen that was behind the performers on the stage, were blocked by the curtains, the speakers and lights, and the stage itself because of how low we were. Which was a bit aggravating because I purchased the highest priced tickets, in the front row. It would be helpful if there was some disclosure as to the lack of visibility from certain seats in the theater, before those tickets are secured, or if there were a lower cost for those seats, considering we could only actually see about half of the show. On another note, some of the staff members were very helpful and a delight to interact with! There were others that were less-than-pleasant to deal with.

Miniature golf course
The City of Cheyenne Ice and Events Center in Wyoming surprises visitors with its wintertime fun options. The facility offers figure skating lessons and free skate times, making it a popular destination for locals. Besides ice skating, the venue also features a mini-golf course that both kids and adults can enjoy, along with a small arcade and laser tag area. While it's open for roller skating in the summer, the main attraction remains the ice rink during winter.
I came here to play the mini golf course and left very satisfied. This is easily the best course I've ever played. The holes are well designed and themed after the state and region. The hole placements are challenging without being unfair. I loved the different types of "Grass" used for the fairway, rough, and bunkers. I need to come back in the summer when the water features are going.

We arrived at 3:30 pm on a Friday. It was not busy. No wait time. Unfortunately when sunsets all the mosquitoes come out because there are water fountains and ponds where the mosquitoes breed. Thankfully we had some mosquito repellant in the car. I would suggest that the water features be maintained and cleaned of algae and debris regularly. Also suggest putting mosquito eating fish or put larvicides like Mosquito Dunks, in the water.

As we travel around the country my wife and I like to stop at places to play pinball. We were here on a Thursday morning about 11. Really nice facility. The ladies working were terrific, they were friendly and happy to help. The pinball machines were in excellent condition. Often times we find machines that show wear (especially flippers) and sometimes that don't work at all. We played all 13 machines, each one worked perfectly and looked great. The pricing was also impressive, only two machines were $1, the remainder were 25 or 50 cents. Extra balls and matching also worked. We could not remember previously playing Dialed In or Tommy so we were thrilled to find them here. We could not have asked for a better pinball experience. The facility is bright and well lighted, it also has a small snack bar. The food, prices and service were great. We were there for a couple of hours and had a wonderful time.

Place looks closed as you enter, but the golf course is somewhat challenging if not repetitive. Good prices and plenty of pinball games to play also.

This place, as an ice center in the State Capital, is just a total disappointment. Morning to do with the staff, they're doing their jobs. More to do with absolutely abysmal Management and planning by the City of Cheyenne, who runs this place like they've never heard of community sports. First of all, it's an ice rink. So why is there only ice from October to March? During the summer they melt the ice and turn it into a roller rink, when there is ALREADY A FAR SUPERIOR ROLLER RINK IN CHEYENNE that has been here since the 80's. Why does the City run Cheyenne ice center want to compete with an existing Cheyenne business, to especially when their product is so much less impressive? Second, by not having ice all year round, they justify almost completely ignoring the youth and adult sports communities like hockey, and figure skating. Every other youth ice hockey league in this state has ice all year round. They host tournaments, clinics, trainings, open skates, camps, guest instructors. They generate LOTS of money for their centers and leagues and the ice rink in the state capital does none of that?? Why? The city flat REFUSES to allow the league to host tournaments even in the winter season. Tournaments generate bunches of money on every other town, why does Cheyenne leadership choose to ignore the league and the children in it, year after year? Why did the local hockey team shut down? Why is there no figure skating? The management of the rink by the City is an utter failure and embarrassment to the citizens who pay the bills with their tax money and have to watch every other Wyoming town with a rink outpace them in every category.

Looked on the website to see what there was to do for fun around here, nowhere on the website Did it say that half of the activities would be closed for a craft show so we decided to take the 30 minute drive just to come here and only be able to do laser tag and golf. It was extremely underwhelming and the kids were ready to go before we even finished the 18 holes.was also checking this place out to have a big birthday party in August but after this we will not be coming back.

The Ice and Events Center is one of Cheyenne's best kept secrets. They have a really wonderful mini-golf course that will delight kids and adults alike. Inside is a (tiny) arcade and a small laser tag space. The main draw, of course, is the skating rink. It's open for roller skating in summer and ice skating in winter. My only major complaint is that there is no where to sit. If you want to bring your kids and let them use the arcade, you are stuck standing the whole time.

Antique store
Antiques Central LLC is a must-visit destination in Cheyenne for antique enthusiasts. Housed in a historic red brick building that was once a creamery, this expansive shop accommodates over two dozen vendors offering an extensive array of collectibles and vintage items. The store's inventory spills over onto two floors, featuring art, furniture, clothing, toys, books, jewelry, and more. Visitors are impressed by the charming location and exemplary customer service.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. So many wonderful things to see. Time well spent.

Very interesting. Almost museum like. Impressive variety of antique and older items. I don't know that I would buy much here, but coming through to look at the variety and see the ingenuity of pioneers and early 20th century invention is fun. Could use some tidying up. Many items are unorganized and it's hard to look through a pile of comic books under a bench.

Antiques Central stands out among Cheyenne's antique stores for its historic location, good selection, and exemplary customer service. My mom and I walked from Downtown through a charming neighborhood to Antiques Central. We were impressed by the brick building, built in 1923 to house the Laramie County Milk Producers Co-Op, and surrounded by colorful flowers. Inside, there is something for everyone - furniture, glassware, dolls and dollhouses, clothing, books, etc. - all fun and funky and reasonably priced. We ducked into the store just as a heavy rainstorm rolled in. The storm ran past closing time, and woman who was working offered to drive us back to our car. She was so kind and went above and beyond to help us. We will definitely be going back to Antiques Central next time we are in Cheyenne

Good Antique store. I sold them porcelain figurines and silverware. Of course, the prices are lower than if you put on a commission or sell a long time by yourself, but there is no problem with selling: I took them and immediately received cash. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. In general, I decided, if there is a need to come only to this store! I recommend it to everybody.

Wyoming's Rib & Chop House in Cheyenne is part of a chophouse chain known for its relaxed, casual setting and mouthwatering menu. With locations across several states, including Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and Utah, this restaurant offers aged steaks, succulent seafood, and award-winning ribs. The ambiance is reminiscent of a rodeo-style eatery with a unique brand of Rocky Mountain Hospitality.
An oddity to have each entree or side to have its own plate or bowl. Unique for certain. At least in my travels. Good atmosphere, a little on the noisy side in the dining area. Quick service. Kayla was a treat and checked on us frequently. Steaks were prepared well. There were options to add to how the steak was cooked, but passed. Will be here again when we swing through.

We stopped in before the fireworks. The food was good. I had the bison tomahawk and my wife had the surf and turf. The food was decent. The lobster didn’t taste fresh. It had a wang to it. But other than that the rest was good. My tomahawk was really rare but the staff tried very well to remedy that. They were all very helpful and nice people. I would definitely eat here again. One thing I would recommend to the owner is fix the menu. It’s to small and hard to navigate. The tomahawk I almost didn’t notice and the waitress didn’t know they had it before I ordered it. It’s really hard to tell what all Is available.

What an amazing find on our short stopover in Cheyenne. Friendly welcome on arrival , a varied menu with plenty of choices. We couldn’t resist sharing the cote de bouef! What an excellent choice, table side drama on serving the steak, sizzling on the hot plate, and the meat was delicious, perfectly cooked to our taste (medium). Service was top notch, and genuine desire to please.

Fantastic! We were recommended by our hotel and we are so grateful. We had 3 young kids and they were well accommodated. Food was tasty and well priced. Shout out to Gino who was our server and a great host. Highly recommend to others.

First, the service is excellent. The food, is not. They charge 17.95 for a salad. Which is fine, but it is literally a bunch of iceberg lettuce. No romaine, no red leaf, no green leaf. It is straight up iceberg. Just a shame. It's gone downhill over the years.
Danielle A — Google review
I had the ribeye and wild rice, house salad and bison chili. The steak was cooked the way I liked and it was very flavorful and juicy. The plate they serve it on comes straight out of the oven so it is really hot so be careful. Wife had a filet and Mac n cheese. Hers was very good as well. Riley was our server and she was great. She even writes her name on the paper that covers the table. Did I mention she writes in it cursive UPSIDE DOWN? 😂
Sduk3406 — Google review
We ordered a 6 Oz fillet and a 7 Oz sirloin steak. The filet was a little over cooked for my wife's liking the great waitress insisted on having another prepared and a perfect medium rare was on the table in 15 minutes! Excellent flavor, for both steaks; several choices for side dish, which were excellent also! Service was great! And best news was a chop and rib house is coming to our city soon! We will definitely be going back!

Customers can enjoy -pound sirloin burgers with various toppings, such as slow-smoked barbecue pulled pork and ghost pepper jack cheese or blue cheese and roasted garlic.
5 stars all around! Our server Chris was down to earth, helpful, and clearly takes pride in his work. She spoke highly of the owner, going on to say he’d never work anywhere else. That speaks volumes about a company. The food… NEXT LEVEL AMAZING! We live in MT and may just center our next family vacation around this establishment and town. Thank you Sanfords, Chris and Cheyenne, WY!

While driving across I-80 with my Beautiful Bride and our youngest, we saw a sign for a “Testicle Festival.” Given the area at the time, we figured it was probably turkey, but it sparked a conversation about the Rocky Mountain variety. That eventually led us to finding Sanford’s Grub & Pub as we passed through Cheyenne. My bride and youngest had never tried them before, so we figured, why not? We arrived during the dinner rush and waited about 25 minutes, not bad considering how packed the place was. The interior was an eclectic, nostalgic feast for the eyes, with something interesting on every wall. The menu was extensive, almost overwhelming, with a Cajun influence and plenty of mouthwatering choices. They also had a large draft beer selection and specialty cocktails. We ordered a soda for the kiddo, a beer for me, and a huckleberry margarita for my Bride, along with an appetizer of oysters and fries (still keeping the surprise from our youngest). The oysters and fries came out hot, served with brown gravy and cocktail sauce on the side. The breading was the dominant flavor, and the texture was the traditional, for lack of a better word, "calamari" feel. I thought they were tasty. My bride found the breading a bit heavy, while our youngest enjoyed them… until we revealed what they were. After that, he said they were “just okay,” though he kept eating them! For our main dish, my bride and I split the “Hot As& Miss Piggy” with sweet potato fries. Thankfully, our waitress let us know it usually comes topped with powdered sugar and honey butter. We opted out of the sugar and got the butter on the side. The pork and beef were both flavorful, and the patty was cooked to order. The sauce and cheese made it a bit too spicy for my bride, but I enjoyed it. We both agreed on a menu this big, a straight-up pulled pork sandwich would be a great addition. The sweet potato fries were delicious on their own, but dipping them in the honey butter added a fun twist. We were still glad we got it on the side. Our youngest ordered a smash burger with onion rings. The burger was well-seasoned and cooked to order—simple and tasty. The onion rings were piled high, lightly breaded, a little greasy, but still good. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience. Between the food, the drinks, and the décor, there’s so much going on at Sanford’s that it would take multiple visits to soak it all in.

3 sirloins of 4 steaks were dry. The upgraded rib eye wasn't dry. The bread is NOT fry bread. It is a deep-fried hoagie. Tastes good but misrepresented as fry bread in this neck of the woods where there is authentic fry bread. There was plenty of food. Salad was good. Fries good. Service great. Atmosphere out the wahoo.
K M — Google review
Ah there's so much stuff in this restaurant that it's a world of it's own. Is it a tourist trap? Yes. Is it worth it? Totally! Even though the rocky mountain oysters were dry and nearly bland, at least they have good texture and are not greasy. They come with cocktail sauce and gravy for dipping. They also have bottomless fries and sweet potato fries, and that's just with appetizers. Sweet potato fries are treated like desserts as evidenced by the powdered sugar on top with cinnamon butter. If you order a meal, you get bottomless onion rings. Whatever flaws you may find in your experience here, they always have something to make up for that. And if you are interested, you can do a bit of gambling in the back and they even have a game room too. This is a place worth checking out! Also, free peanuts being passed around here! So if you are allergic to nuts, you may want to either avoid the bar or let your server know. Otherwise, fun place to chill anywhere! Oh and if you like beer, they serve them in jars.

We (my family and I )were visiting Cheyenne Wyoming and asked a local about a good place to eat. So he told us about Sanfords Grub and Pub. We're so glad he did. Cool little place with plenty of charm and personality. The menu is a HUGE and they've got a little bit of everything. I had Mama Odie's Chicken Melt (or some variation of that wording) and it was spectacular. I forgot to take a picture of it before I started eating, it was that good, lol! We also had poutine to start and it came out super fast and was delicious as well. If we ever make it back this way, we are for sure stopping back by!

This is my favorite kind of place- and it proved to be the BEST breakfast my husband and I have ever had. Don’t let the outside fool you- the food is incredible and the people are so sweet and welcoming! Their green chili is exceptional- don’t miss trying it! I am so sad I only came to Wyoming for a weekend- I would 100% plan another trip just to stop here again. My husband had the Big Boy Burrito, and I had the biscuits and green chili. 100/10- fast service, absolutely delicious food, awesome atmosphere. If you’re hungry- this is the place to come! You will not be disappointed!

The food was amazing! We were a party of 6 so we enjoyed chicken and waffles (flavorful, crispy, wonderful to almost the last bite because I couldn't finish it), biscuit bowl (our daughter said it was the best thing ever!), Philly cheesesteak (even though they had to sub ground beef it was very very good), pancakes were amazing especially with the maple butter syrup....yummy. Crispy bacon, eggs were all perfect. Definitely will go there again if we are in Cheyenne. Worth the 25 min wait! Daniell was the sweetest best server who made sure we had everything we wanted.

Don't let the exterior chase you away, the food here is excellent. The skillet of luxury potatoe/onion covered with chorizo, eggs, cheese & sausage gravy was delicious. The French toast was as well. Eclectic interior, we sat in the original old diner.

My hubby, who has quite the way with words, called this “really good, down-home diner slop”. This was high praise from him! We happened across this little spot on a slow Sunday in March, just having visited the Home Depot. Figured we’d give it a shot, since the reviews looked promising. I totally scored with my little Santa Fe burrito. It comes covered with their homemade green chili sauce, which was delightful. And there’s refried beans in the burrito. How could I go wrong? He got a biscuit skillet with country fried steak and sausage gravy. Said it hit right. We will definitely be back when we come to town next. Thanks, LD, from the bottom of our happy tummies!

It’s just like a fast food place where you order at the entrance and then take a seat at a table. The food comes out shortly after ordering. I had the taco salad and my husband had the green chili burger—both were absolutely perfect and delicious. Unfortunately, the spaghetti from the kids’ menu didn’t win over our child. There wasn’t a specific server assigned to our table, but many staff members provided fast and efficient service. Everything was perfect. If it were just a little closer to Colorado, I think I’d come here often.

Nice place, you order at the counter and they bring your food. They come around often to offer refill and clear table. We had pasta and both dishes were really good, much better than expected considering they are primarily a burger place. Although they are known for burgers, they have nice other options. Our pasta came with a side salad that was larger than most. Very pleased!

This was my first time I WY. After our tour at the train depot they recommended this place and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend the barnyard burger. Accomplice Beer Company, located in the historic Cheyenne Depot, offers a unique self-serve beer experience with over a dozen taps for guests to sample various beers. The brewery features seven signature beers, three seasonal styles, and four rotating guest taps alongside a menu of comfort food favorites. Situated on the first floor of the 1887 Union Pacific Depot building, it shares space with the Cheyenne Depot Museum.
You might not notice this place blending into the Train Depot Visitor Center building, but wow—what a hidden gem! The industrial-style brewery setup greets you as you walk in, complete with a “Beer Shrine” boasting 14 different beers on tap. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. The Mushroom Swiss burger was cooked to perfection, and the presentation showed real attention to detail. Combine that with outstanding service and a relaxed, low-key ambiance, plus the charm of trains passing by in the background—it’s a dining experience that stands out. If you’re downtown and searching for a great spot to eat, this is it. Honestly, is there such a thing as a 6-star rating? Google needs to update the Review section for this to allow for a full restaurant review.

Our beer was very good, our food only okay. We got the fish tacos and a salad. They were certainly palatable, but not as good as the beer. The space is neat; you can see the trains running by outside the windows. It could use some updates to be more comfortable, but it was pleasant for a single evening. Our server was very kind and thoughtful; she made the experience!

Wow! That about sums it up. My girlfriend and I stopped in on a whim while on a roadtrip from Chicago. Couldn’t be happier we did. Beers: I tried 80% of the menu. Everything was true to style and delicious. Notably, the beers were incredibly clean and well balanced. There wasn’t any masking with adjuncts; no crazy combinations; and no frou frou colors. Just straight up good beers. Every style nailed to the core. The peach hibiscus gose was the most interesting of the bunch; however, it was perfectly crisp and balanced—not a giant sugar bomb. 10/10. Food: I had the hot crispy chicken tenders. My lord they were phenomenal. The Corn Flake breading elevated these tender strips into juicy, crunchy beasts. The mango jalapeño and spicy ranch took them to a new level I didn’t think was possible. Oh, and the fries were insane, too. Service: The very best of all. From the second we stepped in to the minute we left, we were treated like Royalty. Grant took care of us immediately and walked us through their whole menu while thoroughly answering our 100 questions. Couldn’t drum up a complaint if I tried. Destiny also joined in our many conversations and made us feel right at home. They were all fantastic and if I am anywhere near Cheyenne in the future, I’ll be going out of my way to get back.

I've been going here for years. The new owners are awesome. The employees even being new are so welcoming. I asked for an Absinthe fountain, and even though its like not on the menu, they hey accommodated us. This isn't the first time either they have. The devil eggs we delightful. I'd eat a dozen.

Creative and special drinks at prices cheaper than the front range. Many people think this is a pricy place but if you consider what you get for the same price in Fort Collins, I think it’s actually quite reasonable. The Paramount is our special occasion place, and we love bringing out of town guests for a cocktail and snack. The liquor list is carefully curated and features locally produced premium products. Snacks are just as well thought out, with interesting twists on your standard bar food. The bartenders are generous with their time and really take pride in their work and it shows. Drinks are delicious without being heavy handed. I have yet to have a single bad experience here, and I can’t wait for their back patio to open again. The Paramount is lovingly local and really represents the best of what downtown can and should offer.

Charming cocktail bar in downtown Cheyenne. Walking distance to downtown hotels and a few other restaurants. They have small plates and fantastic cocktails. We tried a small sampling and they all tasted great with unique flavors. Would definitely recommend to anyone in town!

Kinda a Dill Pickle (2 people, 2 drinks each) is savory Stubborn Cinderella (1 person 2 drinks) is sweet The service is spectacular. Servers made sure our water carafe was refilled. Mixologists know how to make their drinks. 👍 They'll make regular alcoholic beverages, too. You can talk in a normal voice and be heard. Definitely will return.

Tracy went above and beyond for myself and my son who happened to wander in just as they were closing. She was super patient and showed us the hat selection and allow us to find exactly what we were looking for, even though it was after the time the store closed. 10 out of 10 would definitely come back. We really appreciate it.

Very disappointing customer service. We were ignored by the sales staff on two separate visits — they prioritized other customers, and when the store was empty, they still didn’t acknowledge us. Even at the register, the employees seemed annoyed to help. Definitely not the kind of service you’d expect from a Wrangler store. Not a good experience while visiting Wyoming.

Overwrought Boot Barn, in a historic shell of a building. Staff are fine, but selection isn't special and you won't find anything you can't get at a normal Boot Barn. Probably fun for tourists but not much worth the trouble for locals.

The Cathedral of St. Mary, a stunning Catholic cathedral in Cheyenne with remarkable architecture and well-preserved structure, dates back to the mid-1800s. Its massive square tower reaches over 130 feet high, while its stained glass windows capture light both inside and outside the building. Regardless of one's religious beliefs, this beautiful cathedral offers a sense of tranquility and welcomes visitors warmly.

The cathedral is so beautiful. I love the design of the baldacchino, and the organ looks amazing. The colorful stained glass lights up the church, and the painted design on the ceiling is very beautiful, too. This is a great place to pray and to find a deeper connection with God.

The Terry Bison Ranch Resort offers visitors the chance to stay in rustic cabins on a bison ranch. Guests can enjoy train tours and horseback riding, as well as a steakhouse. The bison train tour is particularly exciting, allowing guests to feed the bison and take pictures while onboard. In addition to bison, other animals on the ranch include horses, chickens, cows and ostriches. The gift shop offers unique souvenirs for purchase.
This is an interesting spot. Pretty much a tourist attraction but has a large campground. Not fancy but tidy and clean. People were friendly. They do have a bison herd. Suited my needs perfectly because it was only 15 minutes from Cheyenne Frontier Days, my destination for a couple of days. My only complaint was that they only had 4 washers and dryers for such a large campground and 2 of the washers were out of order and the other two were full of people's clothes that needed to be removed. But I would definitely revisit again.
Sandy C — Google review
The people were great. It was convenient to our route and a great place for the dogs. LOVED the art work! (metal art and paintings). The gift shop and food truck (food was tasty, friendly service) were a huge bonus! They even had yummy gluten free options for me. I have Celiac and, had no issues. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this stop. We stayed in the RV so I'm not sure about the rooms and such...

We went to have am outing on our drive back to Utah and it exceeded our expectations. The kids absolutely loved it. Feeding the buffalo was a highlight. The guy doing the commentary in the train made us all laugh. We loved exploring. There was free hot chocolate. It really was awesome and worth the price.
Rachelle F — Google review
What a blast! We went out on a spur of the moment trip! Feeding the Bison was intimidating at first. But, it was quite the experience! The guide was knowledgeable. He has lots of information. I am definitely a city girl at heart... But, I loved being at this ranch. You can see how much work goes into running a place like this! Excellent job!
Amanda V — Google review
Fairly disappointed . I have been going for the last five years. Train ride was more expensive with less information. The guide was not very friendly and didn't give a fraction of the information provided on previous visits. Had to pay to feed the bison. Not as many animals. The restaurant said it opens at 11:00 daily. It was closed at 2:30 so my guest did not get to see or taste a buffalo burger. New things like taming a buffalo to ride are supposedly in the works, sluicing for gold, life size chess board makes it feel like a tourist trap vs the wildlife experience it once was.🙁
Teres C — Google review
I started my visit with a one-hour horseback ride ($90), followed by a 30-minute train excursion ($20) that included an opportunity to feed the bison ($10). I booked the 3:00 p.m. horseback ride and the 4:30 p.m. train, which turned out to be perfect because I got to enjoy the experience during the sunset. The ranch has a rustic charm and is home to a wide variety of animals. The horseback ride took place in an open, relatively flat pasture enclosed by fencing, making it great for riders of all experience levels. The horses were calm, healthy, and clearly well cared for. My guide, Jim, was an older, very experienced rider who gave clear instructions on handling the horse and reins. Throughout the ride, he shared interesting facts about the local wildlife. We saw two coyotes circling a group of pronghorns, and Jim explained that although pronghorns are fast, their young are often the most vulnerable. We also spotted mule deer, prairie dogs, and rabbits. Jim even pointed out the difference between a rabbit burrow and a prairie dog den, shared information about the bison, took my photo at the end of the ride, and let me feed my horse, Smores, some treats. Overall, the horseback ride was a wonderful experience—definitely five stars. The “train” ride was on a homemade trolley with wooden benches. Since it’s unheated, dress warmly in cooler weather. The ride was rough and a bit noisy, and even though I asked the driver–narrator to speak up, it was still hard to hear him over the sound of the trolley—a complaint echoed by the family behind me. Despite that, getting to see and touch the bison up close was incredible. The train ride is mainly for feeding the bison, so be sure to buy the $10 feed with your ticket. I was pleasantly surprised by how gentle and friendly the bison were. Four stars. The property itself is impressively clean for a working ranch and offers bathrooms and showers. Along with bison and horses, you’ll find ostriches, peacocks, wild turkeys, and cats. One particularly curious female peacock even came over twice and pecked at my hand. Visitors may also spot native wildlife, so everyone’s experience will be a little different. The souvenir shop felt a bit overpriced—a single stick of jerky was $9.99, and the bison meat wasn’t local (it’s from South Dakota). The on-site bison burger food truck and restaurant are no longer open, so I’d recommend eating before you go. 😞 Plan to arrive 30–45 minutes early for any scheduled activities, since all paperwork is still done by hand. Overall, I had a fantastic time here and would definitely recommend the experience.

This place is so fun, we came for the bison train ride!! The Tour Guide was an awesome guy, very informative, and had a great sense of humor! Feeding the bison was definitely an awesome experience for the kiddos and the whole family! Highly recommend !!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏼👍🏼❤️🦬
Samantha E — Google review
We went on an hour long horse back ride and the train loop to feed the Bison. This is a very nice rustic place with lots of animals to hang out with. The horse back ride was in open country in their fenced in pasture so its great for all types of riders from first time to experienced. The horses were extremely well behaved, happy, and healthy. The guide was amazing and the Prairie dogs are adorable as they squeek at you and run away! We got to see the bison in different separate fields around us as we rode. This place is very clean for a Ranch, although all the outdoor seating was covered in various forms of bird poop lol. The train ride is definitely just to feed the bison. Its in a home built trolly like car with walls and plenty of bench seating. It is a rough ride, babies may not be happy campers. The bison interaction is all voluntary for the animals and humans alike. You do not have to interact but can watch from afar if you'd like. The bison were super friendly. All animals were extremely well behaved and everything felt very under control at all times. On the property they have horses, bison, Ostrich, Emu, and pigs. They do get visits from the native wild life throughout the year. The camp store/souvenirs were alittle in the pricey side, we did not camp or go in any of the other buildings. Arrive early for any events as the paperwork is still by hand and takes a bit.

This is probably one of the cleanest welcome centers I've ever been to. The people who man it are very friendly and will give you as much information as you ask for. You can also find plenty of pamphlets for things to do here in Wyoming, which is helpful for those of us who are new here or visiting. It also has a small museum inside of it that gives a brief history of Wyoming and things to do (camping, hiking etc) The restrooms themselves are also clean and smell nice. The parking was a bit challenging on a busy day but there are plenty of spaces to choose from and the outside area is cleaned as well.

Beautiful building, clean restrooms, incredible and creative interpretive displays. Very impressive. They even have a dog park! They only had one vending machine- with beverages only- and it was not working. Wish they had snacks also. One complaint about a design element: the fencing around the dog park should be changed to a different style. Whenever I (as an LGBTQ visitor) see that X-shaped fencing, all I can see is Matthew Shepard...something that Wyoming probably does not want to continue to be known for, I suspect. A more cynical visitor might take the inclusion of that style of fencing at the Welcome Center as a not-so-subtle reminder that LGBTQ people are not welcome here. I doubt that was true when this Center was designed but they might want to consider changing the fencing if they want LGBTQ visitors to feel safe and welcomed to Wyoming.

We stopped by the Lincoln Monument on our road trip through Wyoming, and I’m really glad we did. It’s not your typical tourist spot—just a massive bronze head of Abraham Lincoln staring out over the highway—but there’s something really cool and kind of surreal about it. The statue itself is huge (like, really huge), and it’s set up at one of the highest points on I‑80. The view is wide open and beautiful, and the whole vibe is very “classic Americana roadside attraction.” It’s right off the freeway, so super easy to access if you’re passing through. There’s a rest area with bathrooms and plenty of parking, so it makes for a perfect stop to stretch your legs, snap a few pics, and learn a tiny bit of history. Would I go out of my way for it? Probably not. But if you’re driving between Cheyenne and Laramie, it’s totally worth the few minutes. It’s one of those unexpected little highlights that makes a long drive more interesting.

The Quebec 01 Missile Alert Facility is a fascinating and unique site to visit! The tour gives a great look into Cold War history, and it’s amazing to step inside and see how the crew lived and worked underground. The guides are knowledgeable and do a great job of explaining everything. The only downside is that the tours run every 30 minutes, so it can feel a little rushed at times I would’ve loved a bit more time to look around and take it all in. Still, it’s absolutely worth the stop and a really memorable experience.

Great place to visit. Lots of information. I had no idea soldiers had to live that way. The tour guide was a little disappointing. She treated that whole time in history with too much humor. Some valid. But the cold war and those that served deserve a little more reverance.

A former nuclear missile launch center turned into a museum dedicated to telling the story of the Cold War and the men and women from F.E. Warren AFB who worked to keep the country safe. A must see if you're passing by in I-25!

Messenger's Old West Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in the Old West era. The museum showcases an impressive collection of carriages, saddles, models and memorabilia from that time period, as well as mounts of bears and wolves.
What a pleasant surprise this museum is! I am amazed by the wonderful and unusual things they have. The collection starts out small and then gets really interesting. Many horse drawn vehicles including a royal coach, chuck wagon, and a beautiful stage coach. A nice selection of antique automobiles as well. This place if way worth a visit!
Joel H — Google review
It’s a storage center with a museum! Nice collection of various items from arrow heads to horse drawn carriages to a bison leg lamp(you need to look around the front desk for that one). Donations only and we found it worthy of our support. The exhibits are creative but overgrown the space as we had to walk behind some items to find more displays to view. Not a bad place to spend an hour in Cheyenne.
Paul P — Google review
A rainy day in Cheyenne forced us inside, and behind the exterior of a storage lockup was the most remarkable little (probably an understatement) museum. It had so much more than you’d have expected. A fantastic hidden gem.
Dewi W — Google review
Best ever! Well laid out! Exhibits are extremely interesting! Great selection of artifacts to see. Large open museum, with carriages, cars and wagons! We visited several museums in Cheyenne and this was our favorite. We were coming from Pennsylvania. Our favorite item: an English carriage - what a beauty. Signage is also well done if you are a reader like us. Old western history at its finest. Please don’t be put off by storage locker posts? It is behind the museum, and the staff at the museum is super helpful and nice. Visit and you too will be impressed.
M H — Google review
We moved here in 2014 and have never gone to this museum. Shame on us! Saw the sign, but it is hard to imagine anything really being there as it is located in an industrial area and at the entrance of a storage facility. Taking a chance, my teenagers and I stopped by and decided to go in. Right from the start, you know you are in for a treat when you step in and are greeted by the nice young lady at the front desk. Taking a little walk around, she gave us a brief intro to the museum, assured us that there was no cost (donations only - $5 recommended on the sign per person - definitely worth it), and left us to wander around. So much to see. From the hundreds of arrowheads to Western memorabilia in the first room, you would spend awhile just trying to read all the captions and see what is on offer. Going through the double doors, it was like walking through a magical door into another world. It is far bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. From Conestoga wagons to a horse-drawn funeral coach to surreys (with a fringe on top), the next area was filled with all types of old cars that are part of a personally owned collection. There was a Model T roadster that is in pristine condition and is over 100 years old and several touring cars from the 20's and 30's. For me, one of the highlights was the Coronation Coach that came originally from England or France and dates back to the 1800s. Even my picky teenager loved the museum and wants to go back. This is a little jewel of a museum and we will be going to visit with friends and family. I think better publicity or signage would be good, but the lady at the desk said they actually get quite a few visitors especially in the warmer months. There did not seem to be any heat in the big area with the vehicles, so take an appropriate jacket or sweater. Also, if you are going to donate, best to take cash in smaller denominations as they do not break a large bill. I would pay $5 to go to this museum again or more.
Mark S — Google review
This was a great museum visit! So many historical artifacts and we were blessed to meet Mr. Messenger who told us stories about different things and showed us a video about his adventure searching for the Anasazi cliff dwellings! Be sure and watch if you can! This is a by donation museum and much better than other old West museums we have visited!(and paid higher for)
Liberty A — Google review
This museum is awesome! My little and I took a little homeschool trip here yesterday. The woman working, I didn't catch her name which is unfortunate, was so lovely to speak to. We felt very welcome as soon as we walked in. You can't tell from the outside of the building, but there is a lot to look at in this museum! From animals to arrowheads to vintage cars! It is free but donations are encouraged! Don't forget to sign the guestbook while you are here! My favorite part of the museum was seeing the quilts on display. They are just beautiful! My daughters favorite part was seeing the taxidermy wolves. This museum is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Warren ICBM & Heritage Museum is a former commanders headquarters that has been converted into a military museum. The exhibits on display focus on air missile defense and offer visitors the opportunity to walk into history, including areas of the facility that required top secret clearance access during the scary times of the Cold War. The museum features not only missile-related items but also uniforms, furniture and other related artifacts from different eras in military history.
Nice museum. My husband really enjoyed it. He is active duty Army and my father is retired Air Force. My father enjoyed the pictures. Nice little gift shop. Bigger than it looks from the outside. Very friendly employees who are very knowledgeable. Enjoyed the experience. I was surprised that it wasn't just missile related items. There are also some uniforms and furniture and other related items from different eras in the military. A lot of history about the base. Definitely worth seeing if you're in the Cheyenne area and love military museums

Super informative and interesting if your into the history of the missiles etc. My son absolutely thought it was the coolest place 😊 a lot of cool and interesting old parts of history, it is on base so make sure to acquire the correct base access before visiting 😀
Allison W — Google review
I was very impressed with the layout of the museum. Being an old B-52G crew chief and being part of the Strategic Air Command(SAC) nuclear triad this museum visit gave me insight to the missle role. I was like a kid in candy store. Highly recommend this museum especially to my SAC brothers and sisters.
Vernon B — Google review
A great experience to go through the history of the base and the mission. The museum curator also does events for kids during the holidays and from the sounds of it actually got good participation from the kids.
Ryan W — Google review
This place is wonderful. If you have a military ID you can access the base to visit the museum, others need to call the museum first. The museum has both the history of the base from when it was an Army Fort, to now when it is a missile base. There are great exhibits, one room is dedicated to kids, so they can interact with historic items, such as they can sit at an actual console used to launch missiles, and they can launch one too.
Jim T — Google review
So interesting and fun to see everything, just a little disappointed there was no close captioning.
Mellissa A — Google review

This place was behind my house actually. As a missileer, I rather enjoyed the history and displays, but it also covers the bases founding and past nicely. Keep in mind, this is on a military installation, and you will need a military ID or to be vouched by a family or friend who has one. However, during some times like Frontier Days, the base will bus civilians over to see it.

The Cheyenne Artists Guild, established in 1949, is the oldest artists association in Wyoming that continues to thrive. With over a hundred members, this non-profit organization plays a vital role in supporting local artists and enriching the town's art community. The guild hosts monthly exhibits featuring diverse themes, providing opportunities for artists to showcase their work. Visitors can explore an array of artwork and even purchase pieces from the gift shop.

Horrible experiences with both Carroll and Brenda. Brenda is the President and she wanted to support her volunteer Carroll. Carroll should not be there on artwork turn-in days. I joined as a newer artist trying to start showing my work. Got 3rd place in my very first digital photography work that I put in the April show. I joined but cancelled my membership after I tried bringing artwork for submission into the June show, this past Saturday. Carroll threw my name tag information at me and said that it had none of the information that was needed. It was beyond rude. I was just like: “Uh, well I have the title and my name and also the medium on there so I don’t know what else I am missing?” I thought that was valid but she got nasty fast. The whole situation was regrettable as I had hoped to find a nice little artist community and instead I got met with the meanness of some women in their later years! Not a supportive environment for new artists! I would stay away…

I want to go back and spend more time. I was passing by and stopped by to check it out. Took a friend for her 21st birthday 1/28/25 to sign up for a players card and to receive free play money. Come to find out the machine that makes the cards was down statewide according to the employees, how convenient. Would have been nice if they took her name down and asked us to come back another day/time but nope. We will NOT be back! Derby Club can have our business.
T G — Google review
This has nothing to do with the staff. They are just trying to earn a paycheck and pay their bills. With that being said however they also know that they're not doing the business they should because the owners and the owner tech people have changed and manipulated certain games to the point that anyone who has consistently played them know that they have been messed with. Here's my one example of many. I have taken $100 and played Angel Gates, Klondike, Royal Deuces, Ninja, Diamond 7's etc. Older games that in the past I have won jackpots on. But lately I started with $100 and played the minimum of .20 and for over 5-7 hours of playing the machines never paid any of value especially a jackpot. There was talk that these machines were going to taken out but people like playing them , so owners determined in my opinion they could be a cash cow with a little help advertising a large jackpot then destening or awarding that jackpot to anywhere but Cheyenne. We all know that less business will lead to tax write offs but its the owners who are creating their own losses and not the lack of patronage. So for any employee that can honestly work for an organization like this with a ounce of integrity in their body is beyond me.
Mike M — Google review
This one was a little better than the one downtown. Again tons of employees doing nothing just sitting around. No ticket cashing machine. Had to take ticket to get payout to cashier. What is this 1970. Not a lot of machines. Parking was a lot better than downtown. Won’t be going back. One time experience is all you need at this place.

This location is terrible you gotta bunch of weird people staring at every movie you make putting money in the machine. The patrons that is, you can tell the difference between someone who goes there once a month being myself and those who come there all the time being regulars, because they are treated right differently, there was an instance where my $100 bill got stuck on the machine. No one there knew how to open the machine, and then after the lady who came from a different location, an hour later, opened the machine and gave me my $100 bill. The other lady still couldn't close the machine. So they had to call the person back. To close the machine if you can't open and close the machine. Why are you there and then you want to act like I was the inconvenience. Because you're incompetent at the job you do I will not be coming back. I go there for fun strictly for fun. And it's never been fun not once the 4 times I've been there. It's been weird, odd, irritating and Uncomfortable to say. The least customer service is not their strong suit. You can turn on the service light on your machine and no one ever shows up. Obviously the management are failing or they just don't care. This review would never have happened if it was not an experience that got worse each time I went but that was not the case.

This place was so incredible to see. It was fun to see my childrens eyes light up while as they looked closer to the details of the scenery setup there would be such intricate tiny details added to make it perfectly complete. such as a little bear under a mountainous train track waving while wading in a river. Or two men on ladders picking apples from the apple trees. We saw Darth Vader, couples hand in hand in shopping environments. The intricacy of details that the trains would blow their horns when oncoming to a railroad crossing and the railroad crossing lights would literally light up the timing was perfect. It was all computerized and magical. Here are some photos to enjoy.

Labor Day Hero! We visited Blue Raven Brewery in Cheyenne on Labor Day and were surprised to see only one bartender, Molly, working the entire day. Despite the overwhelming situation, she was absolutely incredible. She stayed calm, moved quickly, and handled a full house of customers with professionalism and grace. She took orders, poured drinks, cleaned up, and managed incredibly rude customers without missing a beat. Her dedication and composure were beyond impressive. That said, it was very disappointing to see that the brewery did not provide her with any support on such a busy holiday. No matter how capable an employee is, it is unfair to expect one person to manage that kind of volume alone. Labor Day is typically a high-traffic day, and it was clear the staffing decisions did not reflect that. The bartender deserves recognition for going above and beyond, but management should take a serious look at how they staff and support their team, especially on major holidays. We love the atmosphere and the beer, but we hope to see the brewery do better by its employees in the future.

Pioneer Park, located in Cheyenne, is a spacious and well-maintained park that offers a variety of amenities for outdoor activities and community events. The park features sports fields, playgrounds with diverse equipment suitable for kids of different ages, including basketball courts and expansive green spaces that can be used for various sports like soccer, football or baseball. It also provides clean picnic areas with oversized parking spots and electric hookups available.
I'm from out of town and saw the playground from I25 and I just had to stop with my little ones. I loved the parent and infant/toddler swing and all the interactive parts of the playground. The base is rubber which is really cool to me compared to the wood chip, sand or pea gravel ones I live around.

One of the best school parks in Cheyenne due to the different variety of playground equipment there. My kids like going here because there's just so much to do. Not only is there 3 to 4 different sections of playground equipment, there is a basketball court with many hoops and there is also a big field, which can be used for soccer, football or baseball. PlayCity Indoor Playground is a delightful haven for children, where laughter and joy fill the air. Parents rave about how their little ones can't stop smiling while exploring this vibrant space. The friendly volunteers contribute to the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that everyone has a great time. It's an ideal spot for kids to make new friends, although it's wise for parents to supervise interactions closely since older kids can sometimes be a bit boisterous.
This is a great indoor playground for kids. Only cost us $50 to reserve the entire place for 2 hours. BYOP (bring your own pizza) and cupcakes, this place becomes a PAR-TAY zone. Def worth the money for my son to hang with his pals and make some fav memories.

Great place for kids and affordable. Unfortunately this means that the calendar fills out about a year in advance and because deposits aren’t required ahead of time, unfortunately one person can take every single weekend in a year and then cancel last minute. I would gladly pay 100$ for 2 hour reservation and ahead to keep this from happening.

My kids really love going here. They enjoy it each time. They enjoy making "friends". But you do have to keep an eye on interactions with other kids. Some parents don't pay as good as attention as they should, and the older kids get a bit rough or don't want to share. This has only accrued once while we were there.

The gallery offers a spacious environment for its rotating exhibition program, featuring paintings, sculptures, prints, glasswork, and fine jewelry. Visitors can enjoy live openings on the first Friday of each month with music and artist talks. With a diverse collection of collectibles and fine art pieces on display year-round, Manitou Galleries provides an enriching experience for art enthusiasts.
Manitou, Please take a look at watercolors by Joel R. Johnson when he exhibits again at the summer OWM art show/sale. Joel's work would fit in so nicely with other artists of your representation!

Very interesting pieces to be seen here. While not my favorite gallery, it is worth stopping in to look.
