Coral Castle is a unique outdoor garden featuring hand-carved sculptures made from over 1,000 tons of coral. Created by Latvian immigrant Ed Leedskalnin in the early 1900s, this attraction along Dixie Highway showcases massive slabs of coral rock fashioned into various structures and sculptures. Despite lacking formal engineering education and using mostly handmade tools, Leedskalnin populated the property with an imaginary family, studied astronomy, and built a simple home and elaborate courtyard.
Without Question, One Of The Most Interesting Landmarks I've Ever Had The Privilege To Visit!! The Tour Was Amazing, Fascinated By Ed's Passion & Dedication To Design & Construct This For His Beloved. Breathtaking To Say The Least! Willy, Our Tour Guide Made Our Experience One To Remember! His Enthusiasm & Quick Wit Was Delightful Combined With His In-Depth Knowledge Of All Of The Structures Really Helped Us Understand The Purpose Of Each Piece & Ed's Vision! A Wonderful Day Trip If In The Area!!

Really a hidden gem! Feels so unreal once you step inside the castle from a pretty ordinary road. The tour was great, I'm not sure if you can just walk around without the guide - seems to me like no. It's a bit pricey $55 for 2 adults but no regrets, it was a fantastic experience.
Maria N — Google review
We really wanted to love this place. flew from New York just to see this castle, but wow what a horrible experience! First we pay $80 dollars for 3 people. They show a crappy documentary that was more focused on Billy Idol making a music video there. (you can see one a million times better on youtube) you are not allowed to roam around the coral castle without the tour guide which was a complete joke. They tell you take as much pictures as you want for 5 minutes and then move on! My gf was taking pictures and this lady came up to her and demanded to see her phone because she was taking a video? No one said that you cannot take videos and nothing is posted saying no videos! My gf was like "ummm no! You are not going to touch or see my phone" that lady looked like she was gonna have a panic attack the minute my gf told her that. We saw the castle and left, 10 minutes is all you need to see it and they know it, They try justifying the price by adding an outdated documentary and a tour guide that is completely unnecessary that makes the experience kinda weird. The old exit through the souveneir shop gimmick is also included! We walked right through that crap. Im sure Mr. Leedskalnin would be dissapointed in how his creation is beign managed. Im sorry, the castle looks very interesting but I do not recommend setting foot in this toxic enviroment.

Everytime I come to visit I leave with MORE questions! This place is just incredible, the only modern Megalithic Monument that we know of. How, just HOW did Ed built all this by himself? How did he move 30 ton blocks? Bring your kids, expose them to this stunning place. Also, the staff is fantastic and the gift shop amazing. The highlight of every visit is taking the tour with Tour Guide Willy - thank you for your time and energy. So highly appreciated!!!! Can't wait to get back and have my mind blown all over!!!! God bless and Happy Holidays!!! Henry & Hagen

What a wonderful experience, touring Coral Castle today. A significant investment has been made, upgrading the grounds and the facilities. It shows! Super friendly staff relaying a very interesting history. Highly recommended!
Jim D — Google review
Really cool experience! The only reason for a star missing is some of the artifacts that were used were stolen and no longer in custody of the museum. That being said the tour is enlightening and they are continuing to find new things on premises. Would recommend visiting if you are in Miami and can visit.
Shane B — Google review
Loved our tour guide! Very knowledgeable and well spoken! Seemed to enjoy his presentation. Castle was beautiful..stones well cared for and the botanicals were beautiful…bougainvillea were in full bloom and colorful and the stag horn ferns were awesome! Wish more stones were functional as Ed made them…excellent visit!

My wife and I have seen television programs about Coral Castle for years. We finally had an excuse to travel to the Miami area and said this was a must visit. Loved it. So many smaller features that are not included in other tv shows. Guides were knowledgeable and very outgoing. Highly recommend stop.

Auto Race Tracks
Homestead-Miami Speedway is a huge 600-acre facility in Florida that hosts Indy and NASCAR races, attracting large crowds of up to 65,000 racing enthusiasts. The speedway has become synonymous with the excitement and thrill of high-speed car racing during the season. However, for those seeking peace and quiet, it may be best to avoid the speedway during these events.
This was my first visit to Miami Speedway, and I went for a NASCAR race. Overall, everything was well organized. The only issue was at the entrance — there was a long line of cars, and it moved pretty slowly. We arrived two hours before the race (which started at 3 PM), and that was enough time not just to park and walk to the stands, but also to explore the area and check out the pre-race activities. I really liked that the track itself has an 18–20 degree banking — it gave us an amazing view of the whole race, with excellent visibility from the stands. The stadium overall left a great impression: clean, comfortable, and well set up. The experience was fantastic, and I definitely recommend going, especially if you’ve never been before.
Anna — Google review
Home stirred Miami Speedway another great track on the NASCAR circuit and a beautiful area of South Florida. You don’t want to miss a chance to go to this track. They were having wildfires at the time we went down, but did an excellent job of keeping the fires away from the track area the firefighters in first responders did a fabulous job all around and it was dedicated to them. My wife and I had a chance to renew our vowels on the dock at the lake in the Enfield. What a nice trip. The track food was pretty good.
Wes G — Google review
This was my first Nascar race, so I am not really sure how to rate it. I ended up going with a friend behind the scenes to watch a race. I had a lot of fun. I am actually closer to Daytona and had not been to that track before, so that is probably my preferred location. This was really cool, though, and I got to see a lot behind the scenes.
Adam P — Google review
Homestead needs remedial lessons in traffic and parking management from Daytona. 90% of people who paid for tickets and parking will miss the race start because they have no clue. Be careful paying for VIP parking because they put you in the same overcrowded lanes for general parking - even if you tell them you paid for orange. We had to leave and re-enter to find police who would let us go to where we paid to park Before the first stage ended they ran out of water, lemonade, and food. No joke. No metal detector. Very poor screening. No one checks to make sure you're in the right seat. Luckily it won't be crowded so you should be okay. Not much inside except the empty concession stands with only beer and a tiny merch Good side is track is small, so you can see the entire race from any seat.
Jessica R — Google review
I had an awesome time, met Richard Childress, who was very nice, and got to see an amazing come from behind win by Kyle Larson. Go to the Nascar races. You will not regret it. It's a blast and an incredible experience.
Dr. C — Google review
Always nice and a bit less crowded here. Easy access. The track is well maintained and easy to move thru. Grandstands are usually in full sun. Parking is pretty close and onsite.

David A — Google review
Nice experience. My only complaint is that there is no shade. The race started at 2:00 pm and we could only tolerate the sun for 30 minutes so we missed almost all the race.

The Historic Town Hall of Homestead, originally built over a century ago, has been transformed into a museum showcasing an extensive collection of local historical artifacts. This includes vintage photos, documents, and even an old retired fire engine. Listed on both local and national historic registries, the building served as the City Council Chambers, Police Department, and Fire House until 1975. Recently relocated back to Downtown Homestead in 2016, it offers visitors a glimpse into the city's rich past.
Great place to visit and free admission! Learn about Homestead.

Pleasant place to visit while visiting South Florida or as a local. On our visit, Kathryn was very polite, informative and a great guide throughout the entire visit. Definitely a good place to brush up on Homestead's history.
Efrain V — Google review
A great place to stop on your trip to Miami or Key West! We just happened to pass this place while exploring downtown Homestead and picking up some take out. Katherine was so knowledgeable we loved learning about the rich history of Homestead from her. The museum was extremely well maintained and had a variety of historical artifacts and photographs relating to Homestead and the greater Miami area.

Robert Is Here Fruit Stand is a long-standing family-owned market located in Homestead, featuring a wide variety of local and exotic fruits, vegetables, and groceries. The business started with Robert selling produce by the roadside as a child, and has since grown into a large open-air market at the corner of the road leading to Everglades National Park.
This place is awesome! So many fruit and vegetable choices! Everything is so fresh. Delicious Cuban sandwiches at food truck and yummy milkshakes. Fun animals to look at out back. The fresh salsa and guacamole were fantastic. Unique things you may not find at other places.
Candiss A — Google review
I recently visited Robert Is Here Fruit Stand & Farm, and overall it was a very unique and fun experience. The service was excellent — the staff were friendly and welcoming — and you can find a wide variety of seasonal fruits as well as eggs from different bird species. One of the highlights was the farm area in the back, which I highly recommend checking out. It was a lot of fun to see a goat standing on top of a tortoise, along with plenty of chickens, parrots, and even adorable miniature cows. It’s definitely a great place to visit with family. Free parking is another plus. That being said, I do feel the prices are way too high. For example, paying $10 for a regular mango and $15 for a slightly more exotic one just doesn’t feel reasonable. My boyfriend spent around $150 and I spent $170 — and in the end, it was only two bags of fruit. While the quality is good and they do have exotic varieties you don’t usually find elsewhere, I honestly believe you can get the same or even better fruit at a lower price in other spots around Homestead, or even at places like Whole Foods. So here’s my honest take: if you don’t mind paying premium prices and want to explore exotic fruits you won’t easily find elsewhere, then yes, it’s worth it and I do recommend it. Personally, I’ll probably go back when I specifically want to try something rare and different. But because of the prices, I would rate the experience 70 out of 100. Everything else — the staff, the farm, the atmosphere — was excellent, but the cost really brings it down.
Daniel — Google review
Dreamy. I wish I could have tried every milkshake possible. So many possible fruit options! The produce was fresh and looked amazing. They sell jerky and honey and jams here as well! We had never tried some of the fruit or flavors there and the man working the smoothie counter was very helpful and informative. I absolutely love this place. It’s a must see!
Britt — Google review
Great hidden gem of a place! A bit out of way the but been there for 60+ years. They have fantastic, hard to find produce such as jackfruit and guanabana, as well as more typical fare. Food trucks, animals that kids can feed, homemade sauces and jams... Absolutely worth the trip. And whatever you do, do NOT miss the key lime milkshake!
Foad I — Google review
The atmosphere was great! The little petting zoo they had was a fun surprise! We got the Taco Sample at Taqueria Elim and it was okay, a little dry but still tasty. Highly recommend stopping tho for the farm stand, farm animals and their DELICIOUS guacamole dip!!!
Elizabeth — Google review
Recommend stopping here. Great stop for the kids. Lots of things to see. Tortoises, ostrich, parrots, and more in the back. Milkshakes, food truck, exotic fruits and plenty of picnic tables . My 10 year old loved it!
Meaghan L — Google review
Delightful establishment and certainly more than just a fruit stand. They have many jams, exotic fruits, smoothies, and then they have some kind of animals encampment with loads of ducks and goats and emus. A few cats like to hang around the food trucks that are friendly. Oh and of course there are the $6 chilled coconuts they will open for you and you can sip out of.
Brent J — Google review
Lovely spot, especially lively on weekends. Kids and pet lovers will enjoy the petting zoo with huge tortoises, emus, iguanas, dwarf cows, and birds you can feed. They have a great variety of exotic fruits, perfect for trying seasonal specialties. Milkshakes are thick, too heavy for my palate, but Robert is patient and happy to explain and cut open fruits for tasting. Prices are on the higher side, but the experience is worth it.

Everglades Outpost is a popular tourist destination that began as a humble fruit stand and has now expanded to include an Animal Farm, Play Area, and picnic tables. Visitors can enjoy a variety of milkshakes and smoothies made from fresh fruits. The outpost is also home to the Everglades Outpost Wildlife Rescue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rehabilitating injured exotic animals rescued from illegal or traumatic situations.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable! I loved the peaceful atmosphere as I explored and observed all the animals, including alligators, crocodiles, pigs, camel, wolves, foxes, lemur, bunnies, monkeys, cougar, lion, snakes, and more. I visited just after lunch, so many of the animals were resting during their naps. 🙂 Thank you for your dedication in giving these animals a safe and loving home at Everglades Outpost! I’ll definitely be back! This is a non-profit, so definitely consider donating if you can!
Nicole S — Google review
What an amazing hidden gem! Everglades Outpost is not a typical zoo — it’s a wildlife rescue and sanctuary where every animal has a story. You can get up close to rescued alligators, snakes, panthers, and even exotic animals like lemurs and camels. The staff and volunteers are passionate and knowledgeable, and you can really feel how much they care about the animals. It's fun, educational, and inspiring — perfect for families or anyone who loves animals. Highly recommend!
David M — Google review
To be honest is not the best place to visit. I had a completely different idea of what it was. Animals live in awful conditions. You guys better do something else good with those animals.
Jose R — Google review
Recently visited the everglades area on our honeymoon, and since we're animal lovers we stopped in to Everglades Outpost to see some adorable animals in the sanctuary. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, and we enjoyed meeting all the animals, hearing their stories, petting, and feeding them. We were surprised to be able to pet/feed so many! It was a memorable experience for sure and we highly recommend the tour to everyone visiting the area. In my opinion, it's a great way to support the rescued animals and the caretakers of the sanctuary. Thank you for the good work you're doing, Everglades Outpost!
Lauren W — Google review
I've been here twice in 6 months with my Bf (2nd time Mom too). I forgot the girl w/ brown hairs name that helps us each time. She is super nice & welcoming. We love this little place. They don't get any funding from state of Florida please tell friends & family about this place. You can donate too. The best attraction is the monkey, panther, & wolves. You can feed the monkey, camel, zebra & alligator. Maybe others too. Some people think it's cruel to cage animals, but out in the wild they are being hunted & becoming instinct/endangered. At least they are fed & take care of & seem to be healthy at this place. The animals look healthy & well fed. If your thinking about going please go & check it out! Thanks for a great experience.
Ac — Google review
I had an amazing time at the Everglades Outpost….it’s definitely a place to check out when you are in the area! The staff & volunteers are very knowledgeable, and take lots of time to talk to you. The animals are very well taken care of, and their habitats are very clean. Definitely check out the Behind the Scenes Tour, you will see everything up close and learn so much more, as each of these ambassador animals has a story of its own to tell. We also did the Alligator Swim with Chris Gillette, it was INCREDIBLE!
Denise B — Google review
We did the feeding experience here and it was the best ever! This is a non profit rescue for wild animals. They take awesome care of their animals. They will be having a fair/fundraising event June 24, 2023. Go check it out!
S C — Google review
We had a blast here !! It is a self guided visit but a lot of info and history !! You can pay and get a actual tour ! It is a non profit and they just do it out of love for the animals !! They do try and rehabilitate and release the animals back to the wild but some they can’t they take on and keep caring for them by donations. You should check this out if you are in the area !! My kids had a blast and my husband thought it was so cool to see the tiger that close up !!!

Additionally, the park serves as a perfect location for free COVID testing. The space can accommodate under 300 people with plenty of room for additional activities protected from the elements.
Wonderful, large, clean park with lots to do. We came there for the low cost spay and neuter clinic for pets that is located in the park, which was fantastic, and while we were there, saw many baseball and soccer practices going on. Also has restrooms and picnic areas. Plenty of places to park as well.

Florida Keys Outlet Marketplace is a lively outdoor shopping center designed with Spanish-style architecture. This mall boasts many well-known outlet stores featuring varied merchandise such as Coach and American Eagle, in addition to smaller boutiques. Every shop is offering great deals on the latest fashions, including Nike shorts for $9.99 and American Eagle pants for $29. The friendly staff provides helpful directions and tips to make your shopping experience even better.
One of the finest and attractive place for shopping from different branded outlets. Majorly, for cloths, we visited Urban Harbour and other stores, for shoes we visited Nike, Adidas and Sketchers. We got good deals in month of August 2025. My son recommended to visit and cherry on the cake was he gifted our shopping whole heartily by striking good deals. It is located at just 1 minutes drive from main highway.

This mall is actually underrated! You’ll find some good deals there. There are some available spaces for lease. If you are an business person is a great opportunity because this area is growing fast.
Javier J — Google review
Outside mall that has a few stores but most are the same as other malls. They are outlets so they will have slightly better deals than other malls but I mostly saw the same price. There’s a few unique stores here and some food trucks and vendors.
TravelingCid — Google review
Decent selection of outlet stores in a usual Spanish style configuration. Plenty of shade as you walk round also. Found good bargains at a number of shop. Loses a star because the food court is dissapointing for the lack of range. A pizza place, Peruvian place and a Mexican - the shaved ice place was seemingly being refurbished and closed.
Nic B — Google review
Love this place. It has great store selection and it offers a relaxing shopping experience, with water fountains and plenty of seating. Plenty of parking and easy to access. The Coach store was amazing. The Perry Ellis store has unbeatable prices on men's apparel, including men's suit jackets and dress pants; with a varied selection of styles from casual to everyday wear.

The only Simon Premium outlet in the area with not so many stores as NY or CA, but good enough with top brands stores. Also food court have only couple of food offers.

This is the best shopping I've found in South Florida! They have beautiful outlet stores for Columbia Sportswear, Coach, Polo, Nautica, Nike, and many, many more! I wonder why they don't market themselves at all?! What a hidden gem I am so glad I found strictly by word of mouth.

Just updated their pickleball courts and they look fantastic…ready to play.

The park is very nice , clean and cute for little kids and older kids as well. The only disappointment is that it is not covered even though it stated that it was a covered playground
Shelecia B — Google review
My sister has been doing party's here for about 8 years. We'll always have a bounce house and there's a fenced-in playground. Good area close to any emergency needs such as ice or extra plates or cups. Walmart about 5 minutes away. Clean and not to packed. Lots of parking.
Jennifer G — Google review
Baseball fields need attention, not a bad park .. just not enough maintenance or non at all. Batting cages are falling apart. This place has potential, I dont play tennis but they upgraded that at least. Harris field is bigger and holds more people but it reserved for those who pay.. thats in better shape. It's a public part but everything is always locked during the day. County workers have no keys because the private users put their own lock ( don't know how that's allowed).

Losner Park is a charming downtown park located in the historic district of Homestead. It features a stage for outdoor performances and plenty of benches to relax and enjoy the great weather. The park hosts a variety of community events and family activities, making it a must-see destination when visiting Downtown Homestead. Visitors can unwind, socialize with locals, and partake in outdoor recreation at this well-maintained location.
Fabulous display of landscape architecture and design by Raymond Jungles. Brings in one of the best playgrounds to the town of homestead. What a jewel to have!

It's ironic that the park closest to the police station has the most lingering indigents. The playground is ok despite the searing hot metal slide in summer. Sometimes the bathrooms are not open, and street parking on busy Krome ave is not ideal. Overall it's nicer than other local parks due to its namesake but not as safe in my opinion.
Pablo H — Google review
One of our kids’ favorite parks to go to. Pretty safe as there is a police station right smack in the back of the park. They have good events and it’s pretty clean too. I only shaved 2 stars because police or no police I had to chase some creeps away from my family on more than one occasion. I don’t do pepper spray, I’m Cuban. I have a mouth and a stare that scares plants.
Penn — Google review
Unfortunately, I've noticed a recurring issue with individuals drinking and smoking in the area, which makes me feel uneasy about visiting with my daughter. Additionally, the cameras seem to be out of order, and there's no security or law enforcement presence on site. Hopefully, the park can address these issues to ensure a safer environment for everyone.
Yessica G — Google review
This is a beautiful location. I wish there was more of a playground, but I was happy to attend a live performance. Some of the events, they have food trucks. The best thing is it's right in front of the police station so less chance of crimes. I feel safe walking there after dark.

Brand new park in the city of Homestead, definitely a great addition to the neighborhood, located right next to the theater, it was nice to see a great amount of kids having fun with all the variety of swings, slides, and other structures. Great for an afternoon at the park, there are restaurants and things also nearby.

The area in total has a lot of potencial, but unfortunately people around are not necessary the most attractive citizens. But overall is safe and have a good location.

Beautifully redone, Losner Park has a real draw for Homestead and the surrounding area. There's a great kids play area complete with interactive learning, a brand new stage with plenty of space for lawn seating, and lots of areas to sit or stroll. I was there today during the Homestead Center for the Arts Arts and Artisans Show.

Established in 1936, Seminole Wayside Park was created to safeguard the imperiled pine rocklands. Spanning 27 acres, this park is home to a remarkable variety of flora and fauna, with 2 endangered and 24 threatened plant species gracing its grounds. The surrounding low coral wall, constructed in the 1930s as part of the WPA works program, adds a historical touch to this natural haven.
This undisturbed pineland preserve is a beautiful example of the pine Rockland habitat & the incredible biological diversity that one can find here. If you visit, make sure to walk into the center of the park where you’ll find yourself secluded among the trees without any visible streets or development. I love the wilderness & this place is like an oasis surrounded by city where I've enjoyed connecting to nature, yoga, & vegan picnics while leaving no trace on the environment. I’ve seen many kinds of butterflies & various types of birds here. Also, the pleasant smell of pine needles awakens my senses acting as a form of aromatherapy. There are many trails. Rarely have I seen people in the center parts of this park. Absolutely recommend a visit to appreciate the natural beauty of the Seminole Wayside Preserve.

Very beautiful small place. Has a nice trail in the back that branches out a decent way. Decently clean and not too busy. A lot of nature and little bugs and animals. Has native plants and bugs. Super pretty place. Has a table outside and some trash cans but outside of that its nice. Mainly for the trail.

If you're passionate about orchids or simply love exploring unique plant varieties, this Orchid place is a treasure waiting to be discovered. With a stunning and diverse collection of exotic orchid plants, it's a destination that stands out from the crowd. The selection here is not just impressive—it's curated with an eye for uniqueness and beauty that's hard to match. Beyond the orchids, you'll find a charming garden in the vicinity, offering a tranquil and serene environment. It's the perfect spot to unwind and soak in nature's beauty while admiring the artful landscaping. While the orchids themselves are undeniably captivating, they do come with a price tag that may feel slightly steep compared to other nurseries in the area. However, the exceptional quality and rare varieties make it a worthwhile investment for serious collectors and enthusiasts. If you're in search of a hidden gem that combines horticultural artistry with peaceful surroundings, this Orchid place deserves a visit.

I had my quinceañera party here in February of this year. Absolutely breathtaking venue for any event or celebration. Everyone loved the ambience and how awfully unique the venue was. Their Pavillon with a waterscape was beautiful and my guests were left in awe. In my party I had around 100 people present and we fit comfortably in the main area. The food and reception areas were also accommodated for by giving us use of their outdoor bar and kitchen area as well as use of their beautiful decorative tables to put the guest book on. My family and I are greatly appreciative of the service and hospitality they offered us.

Beautiful place. Plenty of parking inside but people were parking on Roberts road out front. The staff is amazingly helpful. The prices are reasonable and after shopping we sat by the waterfall under the big chee-kee. Half our collect of orchids at home came from here. When you buy ask how to take care of it. They are very helpful.

Performing arts theater
The Seminole Theatre, located in Downtown Homestead, is a historic and intimate venue that has been recently restored. After being closed in 1979 and suffering damage from Hurricane Andrew in 1992, the theater reopened its doors in 2015 with a commitment to making live performing arts accessible to the community. It serves as a creative hub for various performing arts including theatre, music, and dance.
Great time at the Seminole theatre, great venue, the event was very entertaining and the place excellent, from the guest service, bar and purchasing website, highly recommended.
Emmanuel G — Google review
Magnificent venue for experiencing performances at a professional level! Last year I attended the production, Into the Woods, and this past weekend I was able to see The Sound of Music, performed by Palmer Trinity School- it was exceptional! Guest services, purchasing tickets and bar services were all a flawless and pleasant experience. There is plenty of parking, with a garage next to the theatre. The theatre is a true gift from the City of Homestead and Seminole Cultural Arts Theatre, Inc. who invested in renovating and restoring this treasure that was once a movie theatre in 1919. Take the opportunity to visit this historical building and enjoy one of their many wonderful productions.
Ana S — Google review
Really love the small, hometown, humble feel of this theater, and it's one of the best entertainment values in Miami. I paid $25 to see a very professionally done production of Grease, and have seen other equally "exceeded expectations " plays and concerts here. Not a bad seat in the house, friendly helpful staff and more. I'd give it 5 stars if there were a better "intermission over" system like blinking lights, announcements, etc and if there were more concession stand options. Highly recommend this venue, and want to re-emphasize the phenomenal entertainment value for your money!

Katherine is truly the driving force that keeps this place thriving! I’ve seen its growth over the past 10 years, and it has never been more exciting than it is now. My daughter absolutely loves the programs and looks forward to coming here. There’s really no other place like this in Homestead!

The theatre isn't too big. It has a good set up. As you walk in on the right there is a concession area with a 6-8 tables & chairs. On the left a full bar. Womens restrooms was clean only 3-4 stalls. Overall a quaint theater for Homestead.

We really enjoyed it and can't wait to get back and watch a show. We did a paint and sip on this trip but the place looks great. So good Ribs and meat!! We drove from Miami for this and didn't disappoint at all. You can smell the BBQ from the parking miles away, the service is excellent and value for price. Highly recommend

Shiver’s never lets us down! We know it’s not health food, but that’s not why we come. We stick with the beef dishes and they’re always full of flavor. My husband enjoyed the beef ribs without sauce so he could add just the right amount himself. Service is friendly, and even though it was Sunday we only waited about 10 minutes for a table. Great food, good atmosphere, and always worth the visit!

Ordered to go and the to go waitress was so nice. Helped us decide what to order and gave us several sauces to try. I had the 1/4 chicken with mashed potatoes and hash brown casserole. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich with fries and slaw. We wanted to try the okra and some desserts too so we ordered salted caramel cheesecake and key lime pie. Everything we had was fantastic and we have some left for lunch tomorrow!

Super southern and feel like your in a family cook out setting. The staff is super friendly, loved Tracy our waitress. The food was super good and cooked slow. So Delicious, and they prices are amazing for the kind of meats served. Definitely worth the travel 🥰

This is my first time trying southern BBQ and grits. I was not disappointed. It was delicious! I ordered the 1/4 smoked chicken with cheese grits and pumpkin soufflé. My husband ordered BBQ chicken sandwich. My son ordered brisket. We all enjoyed our dinner. My chicken was moist and flavorful. My husband said his BBQ chicken was just the way he likes it. My son said his brisket was good. The atmosphere was fun and casual. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend.

Even though we came in close to closing time, they still sat us and took our order and got our food out quickly. From the moment we sat down to the moment we got our food was probably 15 minutes, and let me tell you, this was some fire barbecue. All the staff was very friendly and sat us with a smile even though we were probably not appreciated for showing up close to closing time. Lol that’s 5 stars for service and atmosphere right there. The food was killer, can’t go wrong with the pulled pork, brisket, ribs, or burnt ends. Only reason I didn’t list the rest was because we didn’t order it. Definitely order a side of sweet potato soufflé, that was amazing. If you’re down in the homestead area, gotta get your Shiver’s

Chefs on the Run is a great place to get some international food, as well as some delicious burgers. It's not always easy to find parking nearby, but it is definitely worth it if you're in the area.
5 stars for 5 reasons 1. The grilled cheese burger was delicious! Meat was juicy and the bread is perfect! The cheese adds the finishing touch. Chicken Taino sandwhich wasn’t crispy as I would like but none the less it was great! All the flavors blended really well and it’s slightly messy! I didn’t like the green lime ginger aioli. Sangria was excellent! I got buzzed quick 2. The fries were sooooo good! Fresh! Crispy and crunchy! Hot! 3. Cheap food and quantity is great! 4. Fatima our waitress was great! Nice! Good recommendation! 5. This place is super cute and feel like im somewhere else! Has art work around the restaurant for sale!

The food at Chefs on the Run was fantastic! We ordered the habanero chicken bites, a regular hamburger with fries, and the No Burger. Let me tell you, it was amazing – easily one of the best burgers I've ever had! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and each bite was packed with deliciousness. The server was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. The restaurant had a cozy, welcoming vibe, and it was clear the staff takes pride in what they do. The portions were generous, and we left feeling completely satisfied. I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a great meal on the way down to the Keys or just a delicious lunch. Definitely worth the stop!

This is one of those places you always hope to find when you're looking for a local gem. It's small, only 4 tables inside, and really cool. There's a regular menu, but there are also specials which change every day. Anything you select will be good though I recommend you try the specials. I had the Mr. Marley pasta with Jerk Chicken and a Monopolio Santa Clara beer. The pasta was cooled just right and not too creamy, the chicken was Jamaican spicy, but not overpowering - I was able to make out all the flavors; onion, mushroom, and cheese - very nice! When you're there, ask for Rosemary - she is an absolutely wonderful server. She's attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about your experience. On a side note, there is a lot of really cool art on the walls which is actually for sale! 🎨😎 All in all, it's the kind of place that you will enjoy in many ways; visually, acoustically, gastronomically, and socially!

I don't write too many reviews but this place deserves one. Everything was great from our waitress Rose to the excellent burgers. Everything is made to order and they use CAB, certified Angus beef. Will definitely be back to try more of their food. 😁

My family and I were looking for somewhere to eat in Homestead while on our Everglades National Park journey. I stumbled upon this restaurant on Google, and the raving reviews proved to be right! The family owned, cozy, hole-in-the-wall restaurant only has 4 tables inside, and more seating outside. Their unique menu has a myriad of options, most with a Puerto-Rican twist to it. The waitress was able to answer all of our questions and gave numerous suggestions. My family got El Yunque Burger and the Chicken Caribowl. Both entrees had the most impeccable, fresh taste. For dessert, we got the Key Lime Empanada which was the perfect finisher. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely visit again when I'm in the area next!

My family and I had a wonderful experience eating dinner here. Not only was the food AMAZING but the service was EXCELLENT!! I ordered the Just A Burger and it hit the spot. My brother ordered the brunch burger and in his words “it was so delicious” We also got the Key Lime Empanadas which were the perfect end to our evening. You definitely need to order those!! The chef, Jodrick was extremely friendly and spoke with us a lot. He was so kind and shared a little bit of back story on this wonderful restaurant. I cannot express enough how wonderful this restaurant was. Everything was fresh and made to order! You definitely need to try this place out!
Macie E — Google review
Quaint yet comfortable dining area, very clean and inviting. When you first walk in, you’re greeted by a window that looks right into the kitchen, where you can not only smell but also see the delicious food being made. That little touch immediately set the tone—it’s fun to watch the action and builds your appetite before you even sit down. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance: upbeat music created a lively energy, but the overall vibe stayed laid-back and cozy, making it a great spot for either a casual night out or a more relaxed meal with friends and family. Now, the food—absolutely outstanding. I tried the Bolitas de Queso (perfectly crispy, gooey, and flavorful), the El Pork Belly (rich, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth good), the Ze Smashed Burger (juicy, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection), and finally the Key Lime Empanada (a creative, tangy-sweet finish that I’ll be craving again). Every single dish was not just good, but truly memorable. Overall, this place is a gem. Great atmosphere, spotless environment, and food that delivers across the board. Highly recommend!
Jason ( — Google review
We had lunch today and it was wonderful. Our server, Rose, was efficient, informative, and charming. We ordered the Chino Taino burger and the Bori Philly. They were both absolutely delicious. You can tell that whoever cooked these loves to cook. The Philly meat was tender and the sandwich was juicy. The fries were average - not quite hot enough, but they weren't the star, so they were fine. The burger <swoon>. The flavors were AMAZING. Be prepared - it's messy. Which brings me to my only criticism: the napkins. They're dollar store napkins, which means you get barely one use out of each napkin. We had to ask for more and we probably needed even more. Quality napkins may cost more, but people won't use as many and the tables won't be full of used napkins. The decor is cute, the bathrooms are clean, the prices are more than fair, but there are only a few tables. Do not miss this gem!!

Traditional American restaurant
White Lion Cafe is a charming, old-fashioned cottage that offers down-to-earth American cuisine and live weekend music. The restaurant exudes a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of an antique store in an old Florida home, complete with floral tablecloths. While primarily a lunch spot, they also serve dinner on Friday nights with a menu featuring comfort food like fried chicken and mashed potatoes.
I've tried many times to come here and I can never get the times right. Finally the day aligned ! So glad we went , cozy hidden place and delicious. I would say it's comfort food I will definitely comeback to try other dishes , fyi The onion soup amazing !!!!

White Lion Café isn’t just a restaurant: it's an experience that feels like eating at Grandma's house, where the portions are big and the ambience feels like home. My Popeye’s Spinach Salad, fresh as a morning breeze and loaded with lean grilled chicken, onions, feta, zucchini, squash, cucumbers, and a perfectly cooked egg, was a testament to clean eating without sacrifice; I opted for olive oil and lemon for dressing, and I sprinkled some black pepper on top of my salad to give it a bit more zest. My wife’s Sweet Chicken Sandwich was a crispy, indulgent creation from the specials menu; it was the kind of sandwich that was so good you get sad when it's gone off the dinner plate, leaving only crumbs: unapologetic, crave-worthy, and real. Shelby and Tiffany delivered the kind of attentive, authentic service you can’t fake, and even the manager, Lory, stepped out to ensure we were taken care of; a rare and beautiful experience of extra care and hospitality. Two incredible meals, five-star service, and the total bill, even with tip, floated under fifty dollars. A steal. A sanctuary. A place worth returning to.
Eddy M — Google review
This time, instead of leaving it to chance, I asked Google for restaurants near me. The White Lion came up and I was intrigued because it's out of the way. You'd never come upon it just driving around. It's a cool looking place with an old country vibe and they've got it decorated for Halloween which is really fun! I couldn't help but order a sweet tea and meatloaf with mixed veggies and mashed potatoes. The tea is brewed fresh every day, the mugs are HUGE, and the tea is delicious. Not too sweet, just how I like it. The meatloaf is also a large portion. It comes covered in mushrooms and brown gravy with a little more on the side for your mashed potatoes. It tastes very good, especially when you have it with gravy and mushrooms together on the fork. The mixed veggies are really good too, they're cooked through, but still firm. Best of all is the service! It's my first time here and the staff treated me as well as they did the regulars. This is a thoroughly enjoyable place and I absolutely recommend you try it out, even if you have to go out of your way.

I liked the place. The food was nothing extraordinary, but it was exemptionaly good. The service was great, but it was a pretty long wait. Loved the atmosphere, though. Overall, if you're looking for a calm and chill place to talk for a while, I would highly recommend this.

I haven't been in at least 15 years. I went the other day with my parents. We each ordered something off the daily specials white board. My snapper wrap was a bit fishy tasting which is usually an indicator that the snapper isn't fresh. I've grown up in south Florida & the keys all my life & I have had fresh fish all my life. The French dip was good & the shrimp scampi was good. The staff was very nice & attentive. We ordered 2 of the desserts & they were delicious. All in all it was a good meal but was very expensive. Three of us having the daily specials & 2 desserts was almost $90. Not sure if I will be back, maybe try again in another 15 years.

I recently had the pleasure of having lunch at the White Lion Cafe and could not have been more impressed. From the moment we walked in the door, it was clear that this was a special place. Not only does it allow pets, which is always appreciated, but the ambiance was lovely. The decor was tasteful and created a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. But what really stood out to me about this cafe was the food. It was absolutely delicious. Every bite was bursting with flavor and the presentation was impeccable. The food exceeded all my expectations, and the dessert was ultra delicious !!! The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful. Lulu & Zarina went out of their way to make sure my husband, Bruno and I had a memorable experience. Lastly, the location of this cafe is perfect. It is situated in a lovely neighborhood of Homestead, there are air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned facilities, the outdoor seating offers a beautiful view of the entire courtyard. All in all I highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and memorable local experience. Overall, the White Lion Cafe is definitely a hidden gem worth visiting in Homestead, Miami.

The 1st time I visited this restaurant I had a nasty waitress; she would slam things on our table. After that it had been about 10 years that I hadn't gone back. 1st impression is a lasting impression with me. My daughter and I went to have lunch the other day and it just doesn't fail. My food was great but hers had lunch meat that was spoiled. The waitress came over and Happily took it back and my daughter requested something else. That she enjoyed very much. But what I don't understand is why would you serve food that is going bad. That is not right; the cheff needs to be more diligent on what he puts on the plate. If you come here be warned ⚠️.

If you haven't had the pleasure of finding this hidden gem, then you've been missing out. I have loved this place and all their food options which are all home made and delicious for many years. They have live music on certain nights and their desserts are divine! Shout out to their coconut cream pie! (Coconut cake was not pictured because it was so good we forgot to take a picture of it before we enjoyed it!) Their portions are always generous and beautifully presented.

I've lived in homestead all my life (28 yrs) and I recently started coming to this restaurant about two months ago because many of my friends had recommended it. Prior to this I would go to Florida city and Krome ave for Mexican food. But this place is now my #1 go to spot for all Mexican food. I used to go to one spot for tacos and another spot for burritos and another spot for tortas/chimichangas but this place has it ALL and it's ALLL SOOO GOOOD. Now I can finally go to 1 place and know that no matter what I order it's going to be amazing. The restaurant is also spacious so it doesn't feel like you're sitting right next to people and the atmosphere is great. Everything is clean, even the bathrooms. And the music that is played is authentic Mexican music. I normally order the Al Pastor tacos and get it without pineapples but you can have pineapple with it if you want. The meat is super flavorful and they really fill the taco with mucho carne. My dad normally orders the same but today he got the fajitas and according to him the shrimp was very fresh and plump and juicy and high quality. They also have a little condiment bar where you can serve yourself pico-de-gallo, cilantro, onions, salsa, and many other things. This is definitely my go to Mexican spot from now on. 10/10 would recommend to anybody.

Food was pretty good! My husband ordered Enchiladas suisas and I ordered barbacoa tacos. Service is not great and the atmosphere isn't special. Overall it's all about the FOOD.
Rebecca F — Google review
Stopped by today to get some soup for my daughter. I purchased 1 large chicken and 1 large beef. They both come with either flour or corn tortillas. I was disappointed with the chicken soup which unfortunately is the one my daughter requested. It only had two pieces of chicken, 2 carrots, and 1 potato. It was also very bland. However the beef soup was full of meat and vegetables. It was also very flavorful. So the beef is the better of the two. They have a seafood soup but I didn't get that maybe next time. Although we didn't get any today they do have very good tacos. I would have given them 3.5 but there are no half stars. I deducted stars due to the chicken soup because those 2 soups were $22.00 so it should have had a little more chicken, but it is an okay place to eat.

Last Chance Bar & Package offers a unique pirate-themed ambiance with spooky decorations. It's a welcoming spot for anyone except troublemakers. Located on the way to the Keys or in Homestead, it provides a decent bar atmosphere and is non-smoking. You can enjoy watching games, playing pool, and meeting friendly staff like Ray the chef who introduces off-menu specials. The bar also serves delicious sautéed chicken sandwiches and affordable drinks.
Linda was so friendly and helpful with tourist information relating to driving down to the Florida Keys. We had a few beers and bought some carry outs to take back to our hotel room. Excellent value and great service- highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great bar. Been stopping in since 2005! Historic! Linda is wonderful and her Dad, Skeeter, was a good man The bar was his dream. RIP Skeeter

Place is awesome the cook in that bar gets involved in peoples personal relationships so that makes a person not wanna come back or even recommend them to a spot like that. It's not last chance fault. It's just the person who works the kitchen... sometimes it's just best to mind ur own business 🤷🏻‍♂️

My husband and I stopped in the bar around noon and got the chance to meet the owner! Before we even knew she was the owner she told us some knowledgeable history about Homestead and the keys. We got to try some ol Smokey mountain drinks, and brought a few bottles and shirts! If you going to the keys stop in and get you something cause this is the spot!

This place is a regular stop for my motorcycle club when we go to the Keys. No food and the service could use work , but the atmosphere is kitchen and the people are always fantastic.

Im a fan of dive bars, this place hit the mark. They have drinks at a fair price, a few pool tables, touchtunes, and characters from all walks. Most nights, if not always, there is a food truck outside.

Nice little stop on way to Keys, or if hanging out in Homestead. A little dark, but decent bar atmosphere. Nice no smoking bar, so you wont smell like ash tray when you leave. Good place to catch a game or shoot pool. Did not eat here, as we already had ate. We met Ray the chef, he came out and introduced himself, he let us know about some specials that were not on the menu, very nice & welcoming gentlmen. I will definitley stop back & check out his ribs & wings. Cool spot!

Delicious ice cream that your tummy will thank you for unlike store bought ice cream! The best you will ever have in my humble opinion! Mammey, Ferrero Roche, Coconut, Vanilla, Pistachio, Tequila, and Vanilla Almond are my go to favs!!!!

First time going to this location, we have been to a different location in the past, and the quality, the flavor and the freshness of the products is the same, definitely a place you want to go back to keep trying all the different flavors they offer. When we got there I thought it was going to take a while to order for the amount of people ordering in front of us, but in less than a minute we were placing our order. Prices are extremely good for the quality of products you are getting. They don't have tables inside, but there is a park right in front where you and your family can seat and enjoy your ice creams, paleta, churros, etc.

Most wonderful ice cream you will ever have and the price is unbelievably affordable. I can trust to bring a friend there and know that they will not be disappointed.

My reviews are in 2 languages in order to reach people that speak different languages. English: This is my favorite and only place I buy artisan style ice cream, you should only bring cash. There is an extreme variety of flavors and the prices are amazing. The people are very nice and go above and beyond to help you. I have been going there for years, I recommend the elote (corn, cheese, lemon, chili in a cup). I recommend for ice cream flavors the Nanche (has Nanche seeds) , grape and cream, tequila, bubble gum. They also make custom orders depending on what things you like you can always remove things in the order or add. Another favorite is the cheese fries with melted cheese on top. I wish there was more places like these.

Love love love this place!! This is the only ice cream shop I enjoy. The prices are so cheap and you can get so much for so little. I got 2 ice creams, 3 agua frescas, and an esquite for just 23 dollars. This place is a childhood classic for me. Definitely recommend coming here! Although, it is occasionally very busy in the morning on the weekends. Come at night it’s much less busy.

Elote Lovers is a family-owned establishment that began as the Miami Roasted Corn food truck and has been serving for 8 years. They specialize in various corn-based dishes, fresh lemonade, nachos, and burgers. Customers have praised their exceptional customer service and kindness even after closing hours. The menu includes options like Mexican Street Corn, rice bowls with steak, Crunchwrap, tacos, and corn in a cup.
We were searching for an after-school snack on Google when we came across Elote Lovers. While we’ve had elotes before, this was our first time trying them from a restaurant—and they did not disappoint! The flavors were amazing, and there were so many options to choose from. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Hidden gem in homestead. A friend recommended this place and we had to check it out. First of all the shop itself is so cute, totally Instagram worthy. The workers were so nice. And the food was DELICIOUS! We got an elote bowl & cheese empanadas. We also couldn't pass up the strawberry lemonade. It was all to die for.

Great place with excellent quality food all the time. Since I've been coming here I've never had any complaints about the staff, service or the food. I personally recommend the Birria taco or Birria Burger.

Uber eats my food to the office, first time trying this place the Birria tacos were more like cheese tacos. Lots of cheese and sprinkle of meat. Couldn’t eat it. 2 stars is for timely delivery and friendly Uber driver.

I’ve been craving elote and found this place on google while in the area. I rushed over with only 5 minutes to space before they closed. I ended up arriving after closing time but they still took all the customers that were still pouring in! The customer service was amazing. The women were so kind and helpful with making a choice on what to get. I tried a rice bowl with steak and a bunch of toppings which was soooooo good! I just wish it had a little bit more rice since I got so many toppings! I got a Mexican elote but I took someone’s advice to get the extra garlic butter and queso fresco, which I didn’t enjoy. It tasted really good still but was way too much for my liking. Also, even though they were closing, all of my food was cooked to order, fresh and hot! I also tried their fresh squeezed lemonade, which was very refreshing! I wish I had gotten a jumbo size! I can’t wait to go back and try some more of their options!! Everything looked sooo good.

A couple of days ago heading home from Key West, we stopped by Elote Lovers to try their menu. We ordered their Mexican Street Corn and it was pretty good! We took it to-go so we didn't get to really experience the resturant ambiance or service. But we plan on stopping by again because several other items caught our eyes! Friendly staff, clean interior, and nicely decorated for everyday as well as Halloween. Parking is very easy, just pull up to the restaurant. Vegan friendly.

When it was my turn to order, the cashier was rude she was not very clear she just went down the list without telling me that you needed to pay extra for x y and z she got bothered when i asked questions about anything i didn't understand .They are overly priced and charge for even breathing in the establishment. lol, not the part of breathing... But you got what i had to say.The food is not wow at all very greasy. The only thing that was ok is because it comes pre made, and all they have to do was dump it on a cup was the elote cup. They should stick to doing only that.. The biggest kick was the Empanadas $3.00 HAHAH, more like taste tester .when I asked if these were it, she said oh I gave you 2 for the price of 1. lmaoooo size of a quarter, i kid you not. In particular, the park offers two separate dog parks: one designated for dogs under 35 lbs and another for those over 35lbs. Additionally, the park boasts well-maintained facilities including clean water fountains and poop bags for pet owners.

This place is peaceful. I enjoyed sitting at the picnic tables listening to the various birds and wildlife. It has a nice walking path and various exercise stops. Playground for the kids. Friendly people. Its nice to be around like-minded individuals. If I ever come back here vacation, I'm definitely coming back to the park.

It provided a great escape for the boys. They enjoyed themselves. They were excited and had alot of fun because they had no expectations and they were grateful for what the found there. I did not give them 5 stars because I was disappointed that there were no swings. I was hoping to teach the boys how to swing. I believe that swings are an essential part of a playground.

Literally the best dog park i have found in homestead. They have swings around the dog park for owners to sit on. There are 2 parks. One for dogs under 35 lbs and one for dogs over 35lbs. I would suggest bringing a bowl for your pet for water as well as poop bags.

This park is the best for dogs. I travel 20+ minutes just to bring my dog. Water fountains work most of the time, it’s kept clean and there are barely any dogs. That’s important to us because I don’t like bad encounters with aggressive animals. This is the only dog park that has the most comfortable rocking benches.

College
Miami Dade College - Homestead Campus is located in the historic downtown area of Homestead. It's home to the Eig-Watson School of Aviation and offers a quiet and peaceful environment for learning. The campus is known for its small size, which allows students to make friends quickly and enjoy a friendly atmosphere. The professors are highly regarded, and the security staff is reliable and helpful.
MDC has been such a good school to me professors I had have been so awesome.
Anita S — Google review
Extremely Frustrating Experience - Terrible Support and Service I have had a generally positive experience with the professors I've had, but everything else about this college has been a nightmare. The academic advising office is an absolute joke. They only have office hours two days a week, and these hours are during class times, so it's nearly impossible to get help. Plus, they don’t offer any virtual meetings or extended hours for students who need them. It’s supposed to be my academic advisor, but it feels like I’m doing all the work myself just to get simple answers. On top of that, the financial aid office is even worse. They make you wait weeks for paperwork to be processed, and half the time it doesn't even get done. I've had to email multiple people—including the superintendent—just to get anything accomplished, and nothing ever changes. The staff in Building C are unhelpful and seem to avoid doing their jobs entirely. It feels like nobody at this school actually cares about the students or their needs. I’ve been trying to get simple paperwork done for over a month, and it's still not sorted out. It’s honestly ridiculous how bad the support system is here. Overall, the lack of support, poor communication, and total indifference to student needs make this college feel like a waste of time and energy. I would not recommend it to anyone unless they have the patience of a saint.
Valeria M — Google review
I feel that it is a requirement to be condescending as an advisor. Is that honestly in their contracts because it's just ridiculous. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have stepped into the office of an advisor I have been made feel so dumb for not knowing something or making a mistake. Professors are good and great but these advisors literally look at you like you're dumb. 0/10 experience, would not come here if I had the choice.
Genesis R — Google review
Don’t ever Go to this school this school takes the pride of being the most Unprofessional, Incompetent, & disorganized Public school institution in America. Their employees don’t know anything but being rude. They keep you on the phone then hang up on your face. Never recommend this school at all
BigFoot R — Google review
They cancel an EKG program LAST MINUTE. A program that’s was paid for already. They did not make sure students where aware of situation. No voice message neither they tried reaching out. Very disorganized. Try other schools that are better organized.
EMILIA Z — Google review
Omg.. idk who’s idea it was to build a completely separate building for Administration OFF CAMPUS, but you need to be fired. You’ve made my student life that much harder for no reason. Literally gotta drive off campus for the administration offices or walk a mile down the street in this Miami heat. It’s not a full mile but by time the sun is done with you it’ll feel like it.
Judy P — Google review
It's very good. Teachers actually care and want you to do great. But the counselors and advisors aren't very helpful, you pretty much have to do things yourself, even if you don't understand how to do it. They charge you to use printers and almost everything else. Also, the school is a bit outdated... the vending machines were never full, the tables outside were chipping paint, the elevator doesn't work half of the time so I'm not even sure how handicaps get to the 2nd floor in the administration office. At least they have plenty of parking. I took 4 classes and all 4 classes had the little school desks and it was very uncomfortable. I am a big girl and it would cost me to sit in those seats and have all eyes on me when having to get out of it to go to the front of the class. They should have the tables with chairs that can be pulled out the way Kendall college does. Homestead is closer to my house but I think I'll have to be going too Kendall from now on because of the chairs which makes no sense. I can only imagine how other plus size people feel. And yes! I know it's my fault I'm over weight, but we don't always choose to be, I didn't.
Caz C — Google review
I love homestead campus . Since it's small you make friends faster and everyone is super nice. The professors are great and I have an awesome advisor. The parking has never been a problem especially compared to other campuses.

Everglades Alligator Farm is a family-owned attraction offering an exciting airboat tour through the Everglades and a leisurely walk around the farm to observe alligators, crocodiles, caimans, and various wildlife species. The farm also features an impressive collection of local and exotic snakes. It's a great place for families to experience the unique construction of Coral Castle, which was built over 20 years by one man using homemade tools.
So fun! It’s a smaller place, which we loved because it allows you to really spend time seeing everything without taking an entire day up. Tyler the alligator handler was awesome! Very informative and I loved that he truly seemed to care about everyone having a good experience. People stood up in front of others, blocking their view of the experience, and Tyler was on top of it at all times. Our airboat ride was excellent!! I wish I remembered the drivers name but he made it a blast for everyone on board. He did some really fun 180/360 turns and we never felt unsafe, he did an amazing job! We even got to try some gator bites at the little food truck in the park. Everything here was awesome and I highly recommended it! When you go, bring a little cash to tip the guys if you can, it’s not expected but they work so hard to make sure we all had an enjoyable experience.

We booked a private tour and had the absolute pleasure of being guided by Luke — he was fantastic! Not only did he teach us so much about the Everglades, but he also took us to some incredible spots and even let us step out and put our feet in the water. It was such a memorable experience! If you're looking for an airboat adventure into the Everglades, I highly recommend Everglades Alligator Farm. The tour was exciting, educational, and truly one-of-a-kind!

I highly recommend this Everglades Alligator Farm for a nice day trip from Miami area. This place is amazing , we did the general admission tickets, as well as the private alligator encounter. The staff here are very knowledgeable and clear animal lovers. They did a great job of showcasing all the animals and gave lots of fun facts. Big shout out to Stephanie who was our alligator encounter guide. She was incredible and did a great job of showing us the animals. We spent about two hours here. I recommend sitting in the front row of the airboat for the ride for the full experience. Don’t miss out on their capybara exhibit, bobcats and terrarium. And you can stop by the Robert is here fruit stand on the way home for a yummy treat!

The airboat tour was the best 20 minutes spent all week. Speeding through the everglades is so so thrilling. Worth wearing fast drying clothes to sit in the front of the boat and lift your feet when the drive is doing 180 or 365 degree turns.

Visiting Fruits Pipe Bar was such a beautiful experience. I went with my boyfriend and we had a wonderful time together. The place offers an amazing variety of fruits, and the staff who welcomed us were incredibly kind — they gave us complimentary fruits, offered samples, and explained so much about the different varieties. One of the highlights was simply enjoying the outdoors — we even had fun running around and spotting iguanas! It’s truly an excellent place to visit with family or friends, especially if you want to escape the stress of the city and spend a day at a ranch surrounded by nature. You can take a lovely walk, enjoy the fresh air, and see the different species within the park. Without a doubt, I highly recommend this place. For me, it’s a 100 out of 100. 🌿🍉✨

It was our first time here we were just passing through on our way to Key West and decided to stop to stretch our legs. So glad we did! The park is beautiful and takes about an hour to walk through. There are butterflies everywhere, lots of shade, and so many interesting trees and plants (most are labeled, which is really nice). The staff at the front desk were super friendly, they gave us a mini fruit sample and a map before we went in. You can even pick up fruits that have fallen on the ground and bring them back to the office to ask about them. Such a peaceful and unique stop highly recommend, especially for couples or anyone who loves nature!
Jane K — Google review
The park was breathtaking and it was neat to get to try so many new fruits I've never seen before. We spent several hours here just walking around looking at everything and tasting exotic fruits, but the mangoes were our favorite. Grocery store mangoes just can't compare to tree-ripened. We made a special trip down from north of Tampa just for this and it was more than worth it. Didn't include pictures of everything we tried but it was a lot more than this. Just check their website for what's in season before you go, and keep an eye on the weather forecast, if there is lightning within 10 miles they have to shut down the park until it goes away.

Such a cool experience, its a must if you are in the area! The staff was very friendly & helpful in identifying things. We also enjoyed the avocado sample so much they helped us find the same one to buy as we were leaving to take some home with us. You need to designate a half day or more for this so you can get through it all & not rush, they allow re-entry with your receipt so you can get lunch & come back.

The swimming area is a little small to what I expected. It was a cloudy day when I went , so I couldn't see how clear the water could be. The rest of the area is nice. Of course, be aware of the crocodiles 🐊 , there's a sign there, it's not pet friendly, don't take the fur baby there.

Love this place to go fishing BUT you will need BUG SPRAY!! They are killer mosquitoes!! Nice little beach area and marina. A little bit for everyone! Love to go kayaking around this area. There’s a great little boating dock. Also, there’s a bayfront view restaurant that is a must check out!

Century-old town hall known for its historic artifacts, including a striking antique fire truck.
Had a wonderful time here. Lots of history and an old fire truck you can climb and sound the siren. Perfect for families and historians. The museum is free to the public and offers self guided tour or guided tour. Our guide Norma was the best!! Great personality, friendly and very knowledgeable.

When the Town of Homestead was incorporated on January 27, 1913, there wasn't a town hall where city officials could meet. The newly formed town decided to use Sistrunk Hall, a wooden building located just west of the 1911 Bank of Homestead. It became the first Homestead Town Hall but it burned down on September 7, 1916. After the fire the Town Council decided to build their own town hall. Miami architect Harold Hastings Mundy was hired to design the building. Mundy was born in 1878 in Ontario, Canada. He worked as the architect for the Dade County School district where he designed Coconut Grove Elementary School, Robert E. Lee Junior High School, and Miami Edison High School. John F. Umphrey who had built a number of buildings in the area was awarded the contract to build the town hall for $4,418.00, doors excluded. He completed the building in 90 days. The lower floor near the front of the building housed the city fire department, fire trucks and a hose-drying room. The rear area held the police station and jail cells. There were four jail cells for men while the jail cells for female prisoners were in a separate building located in back of the Town Hall. Municipal offices, the city's clerk office, mayor's office, and the city council chambers were on the second floor. A small one story addition to the south, at 41 N. Krome Ave., is now used as an entrance to the museum. It was added in 1924 as offices for the County Agricultural Agent and the Redland District Chamber of Commerce. The police and fire departments eventually moved out and the town hall was remodeled in 1956. The jail cells were removed and the bottom floor was turned into office space for the growing city government. The building served as the Town Hall for almost 60 years before it was deemed too small. In 1975, a new city hall designed by Edward M. Ghezzi , was built at 790 N. Homestead Boulevard. The new city hall dedication took place on November 23, 1975. The old town hall was used as a Senior Citizens Center and a State of Florida Department of Corrections, Bureau of Probation and Parole, office. In 1980, the town considered demolishing the building in order to make more room for parking. City council members Irving Peskoe and Ruth Campbell opposed the demolition. Through the efforts of Peskoe and Campbell, $61,000 was donated from members of the community and a State grant of $173,363 was obtained for the restoration of the building. Anyone who donate $250 or more was honored on an "Above and Beyond the Call" plaque mounted on the wall on the left side of the entrance to the Museum. The museum was founded in 1994 through the efforts of Ruth Campbell who had deep ties to Homestead. Her husband was Harold "Pete" Campbell, who was a grandson of Thomas Alexander Campbell, who Campbell Drive is named after. Ruth was a Homestead city councilperson and a vice-mayor. On November 7, 1997, the historic Homestead Town Hall was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. After 23 years of serving on the town council Ruth retired in June of 2017. She passed away on May 7, 2019. The museum contains displays of historical artifacts, copies of photographs of early families and places, a library, and archives open to researchers. There are books by local historians for research and for sale. One of the most popular exhibit is the City of Homestead's original 1924 American LaFrance fire truck, which was restored by private citizens in Tampa Bay. The truck is now back home in it's original building. I love how this historic building was saved and repurposed into a history museum. If you are interested in the history of Homestead, the resources offered here are a great place to start. The museum is open Tuesday-Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Admission is free.

The temple is indeed a beautiful and peaceful place to explore. As soon as you enter, you can feel the serene atmosphere. It’s a great spot for meditation, and the monks are very welcoming. I highly recommend visiting, but be sure to dress respectfully and follow any guidelines while you’re there.

The moment you step into the temple grounds, you are enveloped by an aura of calmness. The meticulously maintained gardens, adorned with beautiful statues and traditional Thai architecture, create a peaceful ambiance that is both soothing and uplifting. The temple's design, complete with intricate carvings and golden accents, adds to its serene beauty, making it a perfect spot for meditation and reflection. What truly sets Wat Buddharangsi apart is the warmth and hospitality of its devotees. The Thai community, along with monks from various backgrounds, welcomes visitors with open arms, creating a sense of belonging and inclusivity. Whether you are there for meditation, cultural events, or simply to explore, you are treated with kindness and respect.

We arrived at the temple early in the morning, around 9 AM. It’s a small but beautiful place, and it really felt like being in Thailand. Since it was a Sunday, there were food stalls outside offering Thai dishes, which created a lively atmosphere with many locals around. However, even though the sign said the temple is open daily, the main gate was closed and we couldn’t go inside, which was disappointing. Keep this in mind when planning your visit.

Beautiful and peaceful place. Every Sunday they have food trucks and meditation lesson. Make sure to wear proper clothing. Long skirts, pants ect. There are only 5 monks who leave at the premises, so dont expect to see crowds of monks(like me) lol Bring loose cash for donation The place needs some good remodeling...

This place is amazing, when you arrive here the silence and quietness are impressive. It's really beautiful. I definitely will come again and for another reason, they give lessons in English and Spanish about meditation.

If you have never been to Thailand. I highly recommend this genuine spiritual temple. It's a great place to learn about the culture and more. I've always described this place as a piece of Thailand that has magically transported here. And if you need a place to meditate and just free your mind. This is the perfect place of a lifetime experience.
Vincent J — Google review
I am impressed with the peace that is found in this place, the statues are beautiful, the silence is welcoming, walking the corridors is unquestionably comforting, I sat for a while near the statues to meditate 🧘‍♂️ and it was quite relaxing, with no place to doubt a place I will visit again when I return. meditation services in Spanish are on Saturdays from 3pm to 5pm and meditation services in English are on Sundays from 3pm to 5pm. If you want to have a guided meditation in either of the two languages you must contact them first.

The Dante Fascell Visitor Center is the main hub for exploring Biscayne National Park. It offers a virtual tour of the park's diverse ecosystems and features an art gallery showcasing local artists' work inspired by the park's beauty. While no entrance fee is required, visitors can arrange boat tours to access offshore reefs, keys, and mangrove swamps. The center also provides amenities such as a souvenir shop, ticket purchases for various excursions, and refreshments.
Did the Heritage of Biscayne Boat tour on top of a visit the visitor center. Visitor center was clean, staff was friendly and had everything you need for a day in the park. Captain BJ and Kathy were great on the boat tour. Very informative and passionate about their job. A definite need to do if you're visiting the park.

We visited Biscayne National Park in Miami and spent our time paddleboarding around the visitor center area. It was such a relaxing experience—calm waters, gentle flow, and beautiful surroundings. Even though we didn’t explore far, just being out on the water made it a peaceful and enjoyable visit. Highly recommend for a low-key outdoor escape!

My grandma and I did. the Paddle & Snorkel adventure, Tito was a wonderful guide- knowledgeable and friendly. We had a full boat of 6 people, and wonderful weather. The paddle boarding was accessible and easy for beginners, and fun for people who were experienced with it. At no fault of the institute, the coral bleaching makes the snorkeling less interesting than it would otherwise, but still fun. We saw lots of fish (esp barracuda) turtles, dolphins, and some of the group saw sharks. My Grandma who is in her 70s and was nervous felt safe and taken care of. She had a very fun time. Highly recommend!

We came at the end of the day and had time to see the museum and talk with the park rangers. The museum is incredibly informative about the underwater habitats of Biscayne Bay, and there is also a theater that shows videos that the pakr service has put together about the park. There are a lot of boating and water activities you can buy tickets for and rentals at this location as well. There is also a great short trail leading from the visitor's center that you can walk too.

This place is free and has a beautiful coastline where you can come for a walk. It is the batmy where most of the artefacts from the shipwrecks are found, so it is quite interesting to see them in the museum.

I had visited other churches before but none made me feel as welcomed and as cherished as this church. They have made me feel like I’m not alone and I can always depend on them and they are there for me for anything. The pastor does not sugar coat anything , he speaks the word as is. They have childcare for all ages which is so helpful. Please consider joining or atleast visiting ❤️❤️

One bad apple ruined it for me. I first began attending LifePoint Church under Pastor Johnson and his family back in 2014. It was a wonderful place, and I left later only for personal reasons—nothing against the church. After my mother passed in 2021, I struggled with grief and found it hard to attend church at all. When I finally gained my strength, I knew it was time to return to God’s house. I went back to LifePoint in 2022 under Pastor Rich and his wife, Janet. Pastor Rich is an incredible teacher—raw, uncut, and unapologetically Bible-based. His preaching is the highlight of the church. But my experience with his wife, Janet, has been very different, and I feel it’s important to share. I joined two of her life groups: How to Read the Bible and The Book of Proverbs. In both, I and others noticed the same troubling pattern: she was dismissive, cut people off, and rarely allowed anyone to finish their thoughts. Instead of building on people’s answers, she shut them down, often making the discussion about herself. Her tone was controlling, arrogant, and sometimes even hostile. One incident that really hurt me happened when she asked me by email to step in for someone on the hospitality team, even though I wasn’t part of it. I agreed, came early, and served—but she didn’t greet me, thank me, or acknowledge my help. When I finally approached her to let her know I had shown up, her only response was a cold “okay” before walking off. But the most painful moment came on my baptism day in 2023. It was pouring rain, a beautiful moment for me spiritually, but when I asked a friend whom was also in line to be baptized, to hold my purse, she gave it to Janet instead. Afterward, soaking wet and freezing, I went to retrieve it. Janet didn’t congratulate me, didn’t even offer a kind word—she just pointed to the floor where she had tossed my purse under a table, straps lying out in the open where anyone could have taken it. That moment turned what should have been one of the most joyful days of my life into a day of tears. That Stung. There were other smaller things: she once wrongly put responsibility on me in class for another woman not receiving the email assignment, as though I should have handled it. These kinds of moments added up. I do understand there may be cultural differences, as she is from another country, but kindness, compassion, and respect are universal. In my experience, those qualities were lacking in her leadership. I don’t write this to tear down the church. In fact, I’ll truly miss many of the greeters and members who made LifePoint feel like home. But I cannot ignore the truth: while the pastor is a powerful man of God, his wife consistently displayed behavior that, in my experience, bore bad fruit—rudeness, arrogance, and unkindness. A church can only thrive when its leadership reflects the love of Christ. Sadly, I did not find that in Janet. For that reason, I could not continue being part of LifePoint.

An experience of a lifetime. We were able to get up close with the animals which is not possible at a zoo. Our family had the best time and we enjoyed every minute. Great healthy lunch and snacks were plentiful and they made sure we were hydrated during our tour. These animals are loved and cared for and it shows. Definitely would recommend 10/10. Amazing team and we learned so much and have an extra appreciation for every animal we saw. Will return in the future!

I had an absolutely wonderful day at this private zoo and conservation center! I visited with my wife, sister and my 12-year-old nephew, and we were all captivated by the incredible array of animals. From the playful lemurs and majestic clouded leopards to the awe-inspiring black jaguar named Noir, every exhibit was a delight. We marveled at the relaxed sloths, admired the vibrant iguanas, and were enchanted by the gentle giant tortoises. We also had the pleasure of meeting Theo, an energetic and friendly monkey who completely stole our hearts! One of the highlights of our visit was seeing the tiny baby red-foot tortoises. They were absolutely adorable, and it was amazing to learn about their growth and care. It was a rare treat to see such young tortoises up close, and it really showed the dedication to conservation happening at this facility. Another thing that really stood out was how well cared for the animals are. All of the enclosures are brand new and impressively spacious, giving the animals plenty of room to move and explore. It’s clear that their comfort and well-being are top priorities. What made the visit truly special was Jacob, the young owner of the center. His passion for the animals is contagious, and he served as an amazing tour guide, sharing fascinating insights and heartfelt stories about each creature. His genuine care for wildlife and commitment to conservation really shined through, making the experience both educational and fun. This place is a hidden gem for families and animal lovers alike. I left feeling inspired and grateful for the opportunity to connect with nature in such an intimate and caring setting. Highly recommend!

If you’re looking for a truly special place where animals are not just cared for but deeply loved, Redland Conservation Center is it. From the moment you arrive, you can see how much effort the Jacob puts into maintaining the property—it’s immaculately clean, well-organized, and provides a peaceful environment for both visitors and animals alike. The animals here are clearly happy and well cared for. They have spacious, clean enclosures and plenty of room to roam, and it’s evident that they receive the best possible care. What stands out the most is the deep connection between the Jacob and the animals. You can tell this isn’t just a job—it’s a true passion. The way he interacts with them, knows each one’s personality, and shares their stories is heartwarming. It’s rare to find a sanctuary that not only provides a safe haven for animals but also fosters such a strong sense of love and respect for them. If you have the chance to visit or support Redland Conservation Center I highly recommend it. It’s a place where animals are cherished, and the dedication behind it is truly inspiring.

Took my two boys here over Spring Break and it absolutely exceeded all expectations. Redland Conservation Center is a hidden gem. The experience was unreal — my kids were able to get up close and personal with so many incredible animals: small turtles, giant tortoises, a sloth, a lemur, an anteater, a Florida panther, and even some other large cats. It’s not every day your kids get to safely interact with wildlife like this. The staff was super knowledgeable and you could tell they really care about these animals and their conservation efforts. Highly recommend this for families looking for a unique and hands-on experience. My boys are still talking about it and already asking to go back!

A Truly Inspiring Experience! Visiting the Redlands Conservation Center is one of the most unforgettable and meaningful experiences I’ve seen. From the moment you arrive, the staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the animals and their mission of conservation and education. The tour is incredibly well-organized and informative. You get to see a very wide variety of animals up close, all of whom are clearly well cared for and thriving in environments designed with their wellbeing in mind. What stood out most was how much we learned—not just about the animals, but about the center’s efforts to protect endangered species and rehabilitate wildlife. The guides share inspiring stories about individual animals and the broader conservation work being done both on-site and around the world. It’s so eye-opening, heartwarming, and empowering all at once. Whether you’re an animal lover, a family with kids, or just someone who cares about our planet, this tour is a must. You’ll leave feeling educated, inspired, and hopeful. Highly recommend to anyone looking to experience something truly special while supporting an incredibly important cause!

South Dade Park is a well-loved county park that has been a part of the neighborhood since 1976. Over the years, it has expanded to offer various amenities such as pools, splash areas, basketball and tennis courts, a skate park, and fitness programs. The park holds nostalgic memories for many who grew up in the area when it only had tennis courts and a pool.
I like South Dade Park, it has a very quiet neighborhood. The area is very clean, excellent vegetation, and it has space for games of all ages. People go to train sports (tennis, basketball, soccer), many do cardio etc.

We like South Dade Park. As a new family, we look forward to using the pool area. The courts and skate park have always been in good shape. I was using the playground area with my girl and we couldn’t not stay long because it was in rough shape. The park seems neglected. The mulch hasn’t been placed in a long time. I highly suggest to have rubber mulch or rubber paving.

This park is one of best county parks. I grew up in this neighborhood back in 1976 . I remember when the park was built . The pool was already there at the time. This was “Our “ park . My freinds and I were all the neighborhood kids that played football and baseball in the grass areas way before there were basketball courts and play grounds . The tennis courts and pool were the only things there at the time. It was great !! The memories . Ms Rose was in charge at the time . The park has come a long way ! Skate board park was only a dream back in my days ! And now there is one there !! A water slide at the pool also a dream back in g the days and there is one now! Overall this park has just been getting better and better ! It’s well taken care of ! Looks clean all the time . And just by the amount of people that use it says it all!

Park featuring playgrounds, jogging paths & restrooms, plus basketball & racquetball courts.
I have come to this park quite a few times in the last couple of weeks. On different weekdays & weekends. And at different times. I am so surprised have well kept the park is. The grass is nice, green, well kept, the bathrooms are always clean, they have foaming soap, it’s such a pretty park. Unlike Miami Dade county parks that all the ones I have been to, usually don’t have soap & if they do, it’s the pink soap that we’d use in schools, the county bathrooms usually are really smelly and barely maintained and just are lacking care. The City of Homestead parks shows me that they care about our experience as citizens at the city of homestead parks. Thank you! 😊

Park has 2 playgrounds, 2 basketball courts and 2 racquetball courts. There are several benches with plenty of shade so people can sit and enjoy the outdoor without been exposed to the sun. But the area was not very clean, the racquetball courts were filled with a lot of garbage. Like the rest of the park. We were there with kids and the first thing we saw was a couple, one on top of the other, like of they were at their bedroom, and that was inside the racquetball court. A really undesirable picture for kids

The park is nice overall, spacious. I wish it would be updated more, the playground needs a whole new makeover. I go to different ones just because of the horrible condition of ours, even though its 3 mins away. The sand is dangerous, it's dirty, with broken glass, needles and condoms that have been found in it. There's rusted holes that are old and yes they have been tagged but no remedy, if a child falls... it'll bust their face, it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. Never has doggie bags in the 3 years I've been in the area. Please REPORT to 311 app about our park for some change to happen. 🙏🏼❤️

All my life living in that neighborhood from a kid to an adult. Same old ass playground from about 20 years or more, same sand mixed with new sand. All that field space it has, county can add more up to date playground for the kids in the area. I agree on certain things with the county because, we can't never have anything nice & new because, of these young kids messing up shit. County Parks, please yall have to do better and give this park some life.

Just an average park. Nice to see there's usually people using the park, people playing basketball, people with children in that part, some people utilizing the walk. Yesterday someone was even spread out on the grass having a picnic...although yes, there are tables and benches. I walk my dog there several times a week.

The park is nice and quietly tucked into the neighborhood, the problem is the outdated dangerous playground. There are rusted holes and even the metal joints are rusting. The park playground needs some love for sure it looks like they started to do the work then stopped. Other than that, we do enjoy the small quiet park.

Nice, clean park. The county does a great job with the maintenance here. Only issue is there aren’t any lights on this park so you can’t play basketball after hours unlike many other parks in the suburbs. Also, there’s no running water or electricity so don’t even consider having a kids birthday party here unless you live really close by.

The playground is in a very bad shape. The basketball court is good.

Park
Great place to get outside and get some fresh air. Walk or jog, let the little ones play, shoot some hoops, play some tennis, have a picnic or put something on the grill. This is the spot for it all.

There's 3 basketball and since is a sport only for teams the third one is unnecessary, you only need one for females and one for males. instead you should put a volleyball with sand next to the picnic area, plus 1 mini golf. More variety will attract a bigger audience.

This is good place, for kids and of course for a small picnic days with your family. Especially I liked tennis courts, very beautiful if you like playing tennis. Khumoyun Akhmadjonov

Great park in this area. Basketball, Soccer, tennis, and a playground with a variety of swings for kids of different ages. No slides though.

Park has a nice layout. Driving directions seemed outdates, they takecyou through a neighborhood that doesn't have a connection to the park. There is a single gazebo for rent, so consider this when booking events. The main issue I found is that ir doesn't have a bathroom. It's very hard to throw a party without restrooms.

Beautiful park With lots of greenery this park is very well taken care of. It has a lot going for it. Basketball Court, two hard surface tennis courts, Beautiful shaded playground, Outdoor fitness equipment, and a huge sidewalk around the park that can be used as a running trail.

And nice place to go to. As a park for the kids it has a basketball court a tennis court. It also has nearby restaurants that you can walk to. It's a little part but it got a lot of everything. My favorite of course is the basketball court I love the basketball court there it has lights for the night time it's amazing.
