Lighthouses
Highland Lighthouse, located in Truro, is a historic landmark that offers visitors a glimpse into the area's past. The lighthouse boasts a small patio with stunning views of the ocean and is an ideal spot to witness breathtaking sunsets. While currently undergoing renovations until 2022, the grounds remain open for exploration and guided tours are available at select times.
Easy walk to see the lighthouse close. I wasn’t there during times of tour. The grounds were well kept and is surrounded by a golf course. The look out a few steps further is beautiful overlooking the ocean and cliffs . Parking could be tricking is golf course is busy but it is free and a very doable flat walk

This was a highlight of our vacation and a must-do if you are in the area. The views from the top are gorgeous and it is well worth the price. The Park Service staff were friendly and knowledgeable, even offering to take a picture of all of us with the beautiful backdrop. Note: There is a ladder that requires some dexterity to get to the inside of the lighthouse - not many steps, but you do have to get up and down it. There is a gift shop on site and restrooms just down the road by the parking lot and attached to the museum. Make sure to walk down to the lighthouse's original location as well. I highly recommend taking an hour out of your day to explore the lighthouse and grounds.

The tour is definitely worth taking. There's 2 tour guides, one at the bottom and one at the very top. They were both fantastic. They taught us so much about the lighthouse and it's history. Not only are they both knowledgeable, they both were so friendly! I highly recommend the trip to this beautiful lighthouse....the climb to the top (and it's gorgeous views) is going to be s treasured memory.
Cynthia D — Google review
Visited this lighthouse on a weekend, and managed to buy the tickets for the last tour. The price for adult is $8, for school student $6.50. The narrated part of the tour is very short, probably 2-3 minutes. And after, they let you climb the top of the lighthouse. The spiral staircase is very narrow, and the last one on the top is even narrower, even hard to squize the shoulders:))). The bulb is modern one, and differs from other lighthouses. On the top level another tour guide answers all the questions, and takes the pictures of the families. Also, there is very hot there. Plenty of free parking space, and also there is a decent restroom.
Rose D — Google review
A visit to Highland Lighthouse is an absolute must-do on any Cape Cod itinerary. The location, perched on a bluff overlooking the Atlantic, is simply breathtaking. Taking a tour of the lighthouse is a fantastic experience—the guides are knowledgeable and passionate, and the climb to the top offers incredible panoramic views of the ocean and the surrounding Cape Cod National Seashore. The history of the lighthouse and the stories of its keepers are fascinating and really bring the place to life. We also made sure to walk down to the observation deck. While the view from there is somewhat limited due to the growth of the shrubs and dunes, it still offers a lovely perspective of the dramatic coastline. It's a great spot for a photo and a quiet moment of reflection. The proximity to the Cape Cod National Seashore makes it easy to combine a lighthouse tour with a scenic walk or a relaxing afternoon on the beach. Highland Lighthouse is more than just a landmark; it’s a beautiful piece of history in a stunning natural setting.

Was very cool learning some of the history the light house going back to George Washington. The views were amazing and tour guides were very nice and informative. Just a warning, stairs are a little tight and steep, not bad but our daughter was very scared once we got to the top.
HuddyGTV — Google review
Frist i recommend going to the bathroom at the first parking lot you see because that also is the only place you will be able to go and the only place you can park. This lighthouse is on a golf range which is unique. We bought tickets inside to do the tour of the light house, very afforable! We waited about 15 minutes since a group had just gone up before us. The woman at the desk was very nice and started giving us some history on the light house. Our two guides about the light house were great, one on the bottom and one up top. Just be aware wo entry ways are very narrow and steep little stairs at the top, so watch your head! Once you get to the top its very warm but worth it! Gorgeous views!
ELOCIN R — Google review
Cool place to see cost 7$ senior to good up now used to be free. We had been there before so I didn't go up. If you haven't been there it's worth the trip especially if you can climb the stairs up. They do have a golf course there.

Golf course
Highland Links, established in 1892, is one of the oldest and most picturesque golf courses on Cape Cod. The nine-hole course offers a traditional links-style layout with natural rough and stunning views of the Truro coastline, including the iconic Highland Lighthouse. Despite its smaller size, it boasts a rich history intertwined with Cape Cod's economic and political past. Visitors can enjoy a serene and scenic golfing experience while taking in breathtaking views of the lighthouse and coastline.
Our family has been coming to Cape Cod for summers since the late 80s, and a trip to Highland Light and a round at Highland Links Golf Course have always been essential parts of our tradition. The golf course is a true gem—a fun and challenging links design that never disappoints. The links-style layout offers breathtaking views of the ocean and the iconic Highland Lighthouse from nearly every hole. It's a unique and special experience that you just can't get anywhere else. It’s important to know that due to the nature of a true links course, you won't find pristine, manicured fairways or lightning-fast greens. The rough isn't thick and punishing; instead, it's a course that rewards strategic play and an appreciation for the natural landscape. It's a fun and unique experience every time we play. After our round, a walk to Highland Light and a tour of the lighthouse museum are always well worth it. The history and the views are incredible. While the walk down to the observation deck is nice, it’s worth noting that much of the overgrowth has impacted the view, so you can’t see as much as you once could. Despite this, the combination of the historic lighthouse and the classic golf course makes for an unforgettable day. Highland Links and Highland Light are a must-visit for anyone who loves golf, history, and stunning ocean views.
George D — Google review
It’s wonderful to play an accessible ocean side links course that doesn’t cost an arm or a leg. I loved the design for the most part though the last two holes are a slight let down but still offer some intriguing elements. Barbara (I believe) in the pro shop was very nice. The soil was sandy but the course was pretty soggy in some places. I arrived in the afternoon and played 5 holes relatively quickly then ran into a wall. People seemed oblivious-I was in any rush to get anywhere but don’t like standing around on a tee with a group still eating to tee off themselves. Seems like a place for a lot of beginners. When I circled back to play another 9 a duo were waiting on the 2nd tee Box for ten minutes only to top it nowhere. When I was on the first green, a group on the adjacent 4th fairway was swinging & wiffing for literally at least two minutes. Then when u arrived on the 4th fairway myself, they were only on the 5th tee box!!! While the group ahead of me just finished the 4th green. It’s a bit of Travesty they allow carts here driving around wherever I think I saw a group driving on a tee box. . The course has some ups & downs but it should be walking only To preserve the land. Saw many capable younger men the next morning taking carts. Perhaps they could have an age restriction with the carts.. The greens while nice were way too soggy & spongy for a links course. I’m not turf expert but they seemed over watered. Footprints being left indented-bumpy-wet greens at 4pm just feels unnecessary. I’m sure there is a fine line between them becoming unplayable but a better balance could be reached. Spinning back 7irons just feels wrong. So besides the wind and ocean it didn’t really play like I thought it would, bump and runs were pretty much out of the question. I think Marion (ma) which I played that morning is a great example of firm and good paced greens yet still receptive. I (and a lot of people) would pay $60 a round for a little truer experience & maintenance & some sort of enforcement to preserve the experience instead of a fitting as many rounds in as possible mentality. I understand that everyone should be able to play golf and have fun but there has to be some kind of enforcement & the players themselves have no idea & it creates bad habits for beginners. It has a lot of potential, the views are amazing & I’m sure the crew works hard. The 2nd hole was a highlight along with the 5th playing dead into the wind. I’ll definitely come back.

Course was in fantastic shape! Some great views of the ocean and light house. Staff was friendly. We had one of the first tee times of the day and were able to walk 9 holes in an hour and a half. Definitely a must play if you get the chance.
Brendan S — Google review
Enjoyable links style course with multiple tees and ocean views. Plays longer than card yardage given elevation and valleys. Reasonably paced for high season (2:10 for 9 holes). Greens were a little chunky so hard to read around the hole, fairways in great shape. Overall a very fun experience.
Matthew L — Google review
Friendly staff (check in, starter and rangers). Well done to the grounds crew on everything from tee box to green in very good condition. Noticed divots being filled in and broken tees being picked up. They kept a drinking water station full. As a links course in a warm and at times windy location, they hustle to keep the greens and surrounding areas well watered. Yes, of course it can be walked, but the carts are newer with excellent shock absorbers. Lots of rises and falls with native fescues and sandy areas with picturesque views.. This course will remain on our list in the future as my son and I play our first “Cape Cod Classic Golf Tournament” (7 rounds in 8 days).
Eric N — Google review
Barbara is a gem of a human being! She helped us get set up here and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Course is really beautiful. Very chill scene and not pretentious. We did run into some slow players that lacked etiquette. The rental clubs could use an upgrade.
Jennifer R — Google review
Great views of the lighthouse on numerous holes! Waterview on the back. Good links style course, fairways were 5 of 10, greens were in good shape but slow. Great course, especially for the price!!!

Ballston Beach, situated at the end of Pamet Road in Truro, Massachusetts, is a picturesque and spacious beach known for its stunning panoramic views of golden hills that inspired artist Edward Hopper. The soft sands and strong waves make it an ideal spot for surfing and boogie boarding. Despite the lack of facilities, the long stretch of flat shoreline provides ample space for sunbathing and leisurely beach activities.
Beautiful quiet beach. Good place to take rest. Very quite and serene area. Sea was kinda rough. And also there are Harvard boards for shark sightings. So I don't think this is a beach for swimming.
Keerthan A — Google review
I visited Ballston beach on September 4th 2013. It was a beautiful mostly sunny day with a light breeze. Its an easy walk from the parking to the beach and water. The beach itself had beautiful soft sand, really fine and sort of beige in color. The surf was light when I arrived early afternoon but picked up a bit towards the evening. The the ocean temperature was nicely refreshing but not cold in the high 60s. The vibe here was so peaceful.
Eli C — Google review
I’d seen people say it feels like your own private beach and I agree. At 6 am there was absolutely no one around, just us and a couple of seals. The beach is super clean, the sand is really comfortable to walk on and the waves are gorgeous. It was so peaceful and quiet. I get the feeling it doesn’t get too crowded even during the day because there are only couple of private houses around. Perfect spot for long walks and absolutely gorgeous sunrise pictures.
Anastasiia S — Google review
Ballston Beach has definitely taking some damage from three nor'easters in a row, but it's still incredibly beautiful and worth the visit!! It's incredible to see the sand push through the dunes into the Pamet Valley caused by the storms

Nice sandy beach with big dunes, if you go after labor day like I did it's free and you'll have it to yourself. Plently of parking.

Love this beach! Clean, dead during late September, October so it's all to yourself. And the Sea Lions hang out about 50 ft from shore and swim.

Head of the Meadow Beach is a wide Atlantic beach that remains uncrowded, making it an ideal destination for families and sunbathers. The area boasts natural pools, sand dunes, and abundant marine life. Visitors can also catch a glimpse of the remnants of a shipwreck during low tides, adding a historical element to their beach experience. For those seeking relaxation, the pristine waters and calm atmosphere provide a perfect retreat amidst nature.
Beautiful in early May on a cool day, 50° F. A huge empty parking lot on a short climb over a low dune to get to a wide open beach. Don't disregard the huge sign about the danger of great white sharks!
Abigail R — Google review
Beautiful Hugh beach! Awesome lifeguards and lots of room! Plenty for kids and adults too! Waves are awesome for everyone!!!
Phyllis F — Google review
The beach is beautiful but seemed more crowded than the likes of Marconi, also lacked the fully functioning bathroom facilities, only having permanent portapotty structures. The walk through the dunes was relatively flat but a bit on the long side and not covered by any walking mats/planks. I wouldn’t drive this far again to go here if I was coming from south of wellfleet.
Caitlin S — Google review
We camped at North of Highland for a week this August and absolutely loved our experience at Head of the Meadow beach (Truro Town Beach side). Even though the purple- dangerous marine life- flags flew each day we were there, we still felt comfortable swimming in the water closer to shore. Waves were breaking on or near the shore with a bit of a drop off during high tide but during low tide there were at least 100 kids and adults boogie boarding and having a blast. The shark sensor there was picking up sharks most days and we saw seals every day but we felt comfortable swimming anyway. Gorgeous views and lively waves only a 5 minute walk from the campground with free walk in access. Can’t beat that for a budget vacation!
Aaren H — Google review
One of my favorite places/beaches to go to on the Cape. The waves are just right not too big like Nauset but has wave action compared to the bay side. The dunes and rolling hills are the perfect backdrop. Little pools form when the tide goes out and when my kids were little they used to love it and you don’t have to worry like when they are in the main ocean water. Usually you will see whales off in the distance binoculars always help usually u think nothing is going on out there but when I looked through the binoculars I could see whales slapping their tales and all sorts of cool stuff. Many seals in the area which means there are many great whites also. So keep your phone or camera handy because when it happens it’s usually pretty quick. Nice parking lot with full bathrooms and washing stations for feet and or complete showers. Changing rooms also. The walk isn’t bad compared to some other beaches. Just up the initial incline then it’s a decline all the way to the beach after that which isn’t far. Great spot. Don’t miss it….
Judd0112 — Google review
Great ocean side beach with large sand bar perfect for little kids. Waves are good for boogie boarding. Not that there are two parking lots - Truro requiring town beach permit to park, and the National Park Service.
Chapin K — Google review
A beautiful beach with some walking area in the back and spacious parking. It is part of the National Seashore so the annual "America the Beautiful" pass will let you park here unlimited times per season as well as on the other National Seashore beaches of Cape Cod. This is the real Cape Cod experience with mini sandstorms as it can be a bit windy, which is a feature not a bug, especially in the midst of August heat wave.
Sunny C — Google review
Best beach with cold showers and sweeping views. High tide can be fierce and low tide reveals great sandbags. Lots of room. Lots of people but easy to spread out.

Corn Hill Beach, located in Cape Cod, is a serene and lesser-known destination perfect for a peaceful getaway. The long and narrow bayside beach offers calm and warm waters ideal for swimming and fishing. Families are drawn to its gentle surf and sandbars that emerge at low tide. Although lacking facilities like bathrooms, the beach's clean sand and clear water make it an excellent spot to relax with loved ones.
It's very beautiful and spacious there. Fresh wind in your face if you stand on the breakwater. I tried to fish there, and it didn't even bite once. My bald head got sunburned. If you don't have a hat with you, feel free to put a fish bucket on your head, it won't be useful anyway :)
OLEG Y — Google review
Moderately wide and very long beach with fine clean sand. Large parking area but you need to buy a day or week pass. Perfect spot to watch the sunset. Porta potties. There are no steep sand embankments to traverse, everything is flat. Water is much calmer than the ocean side. No life guard. Dogs allowed.
Jeff M — Google review
One of the clean sand and clear water Beach. It's a very long (more than a mile) and around 30 meter wide beach. Very less crowded in early summer. Best place to go with your chair to sit and relax. Go with your loved ones to have very good time. There is a car parking to park your car. No bath or wash room. You have to find a portable one otherwise have to travel till any near by public toilet. Other than that it's excellent beach and free! See the photos to get inspired. Sunset and scenic place!
Little G — Google review
Great beach for finding shells, swimming and just laying around. Short walk from the parking lot. But has cool trails of around the sides and a great oyster cove
Bunny — Google review
We love this beach. Great place to watch the sunset which frames the Pilgrim monument in early summer as it appears to light P-Town on fire every evening. The old rail trail is off to the side of the boat house and leads to Pamet harbor. The dunes and tidal flows of the Pamet river are fun to explore.
John W — Google review
Gorgeous beach with a lot of great features including: accessible walkway with benches that are right off the accessible path (though not too close to the water), gentle surf that’s not rocky or seaweedy, and gorgeous sunsets. Good news is you can buy a pass for the day if you’re visiting from another town (bummer is it’s $35 but that also gets you repeated exit/entrance and into Coast Guard beach on the same day). No daily fee in the off season, or after 4pm. Only bummer is there are only portapotties, no bathrooms or sinks. Portapotties are wheelchair accessible.
Samantha G — Google review
We are very fortunate to be staying close to the Corn Hill Beach in Truro. They have added extra precautions as a result of the Coronavirus to make it safer to enter and exit the beach. There are signs urging everyone to wear masks and have provided a Washing Station that is situated between two outdoor bathrooms. There is a large parking lot and a parking attendant on duty. The beach is beautiful and is a popular area for swimmers.
Arthur G — Google review
Great beach! Not secluded but not overly busy. Portable toilets are available and always clean. Stunning sunsets. Only downside is that stoms have changed the way water flows into the backside of the beach. In years past there were great tidal pools to walk around in with the kids.

Additionally, kids can participate in the Payomet Circus Camp where they can learn new skills and put on a show at the end of the week.
We had our first show at Payomet. Steel Pulse had their inagural show and put on a wonderful event. The entry is highly organized and structured. You arrive and need to follow the parking rules. Entry is structured and efficient. Everyone is so friendly. There is a bar and porto lets. Inside, it's rustic and open air. The host introduced the act, first honoring with acknowledgment of traditional land of the Wompanoags. The band came on 8:20. They ended 10 PM. Their entertainment was top level. The acoustics were horrendous. I am unsure it was the band's system or Payomet. Otherwise, a wonderful night.

The Truro Historical Society-Highland House Museum is housed in the historic Highland House, a former resort hotel built in 1907. Situated near the iconic Highland Light, the museum has undergone restoration and now offers a range of exhibits and events showcasing local history and art. Visitors can explore displays that provide insight into the early lives of Truro residents and the Outer Cape before European settlement.
Wonderful view into history for the area. A definite need to go to. Unfortunately we arrived too late to tour the light house. But did tour the museum. The museum has lots of treasures.

In North Truro, the Highland House Museum—run by the Truro Historical Society—offers a glimpse into the life and history of the Outer Cape. Housed in a former 1907 seaside hotel near Highland Light, the museum showcases exhibits on shipwrecks, early fishing life, local art, and the town’s evolution from a maritime community to a summer destination. Visitors can also explore the society’s Cobb Archive, which preserves maps, photographs, and stories that bring Truro’s past to life
RoadTrip N — Google review
The Highland Hotel - Museum was very cool to see. They used the different rooms to showcase items from the 1800’s. The hotel was built in 1807. The fireplace is the original fireplace. It was interesting to see products, clothing, shoes, toys and home decor from that time period. We also learned about how they would rescue men using this buoy 🛟 pulley system. The reason I gave it 4 star instead of 5 is slightly pricey at $8 per person and I thought it should be more like $5 but I guess in todays economy they gotta keep the doors open too! It’s worth the hour+ to take the time to see the beautiful architecture of the building and the neat stuff from the 1800’s.

Well folks for those of you interested in a piece of History this is the place to go. This is more than a historical society it really is a museum with docents that are quite knowledgeable. There is so much to learn and so much to see in this Museum you will need to allow at least one hour plus if you decide to walk to the lighthouse I would add another hour. It is quite interesting for those to have an interest in history, there are a lot of cool relics and a lot of stories to hear by the knowledgeable docent. Everything is ridiculously cared for and I would have to say this is probably the best local historical society I have ever been to. It is extensive and very well organized. This is more than just a place to go when you're on vacation and it's a rainy day it is a place make time for.

Beaches
Cape Cod National Seashore spans over 40 miles and 40,000 acres of dune-filled beaches, salt marshes, and hiking and cycling paths. Camping is limited to self-contained, off-road vehicles with a permit. The park features six swimming beaches with lifeguards in the summer, as well as marshes, cranberry bogs, and lighthouses. President John F. Kennedy designated this area as a national park in 1961.
Cape Cod National Seashore is hard to avoid when visiting Cape Cod. The park is rich with rich with ecological and historical significance. The history is presented in the two main visitor centers and across the many trails and beaches at the park. The beaches are all very well maintained and the trails are too. I quite liked the dune shacks trail and the salt pond trails. I recommend bug spray and sunscreen for both! Some areas charge fees during the summer.

There are several beautiful sand beaches with bath and changing rooms. On at least one beach there is an area that you can drive on with a permit. I saw several campers parked on the beach. We saw some seals frolicking in the water but no great white sharks.

Large National Seashore welcomes you with beautiful ocean views and many beach landscapes.Lighthouses and more are available for you to enjoy. We enjoyed seeing the "Cape Cod potato chips" lighthouse and observing the seals in the waters near Nauset light. Facilities provided include restrooms and parking. The warnings about the sharks are no joke.

My mother and I visited Cape Cod National Seashore on the whole day of Wednesday, October 1st. Sadly, it was the same day as the government shutdown. All both two visitor centers, the restrooms, and the buildings are closed. Except the restrooms by Salt Pond Visitor Center was opened after we arrived nearby Cape Cod National Seashore Entrance. And we had to go explore the Cape Cod National Seashore outside. We had a lot of good time to see a few places in a beautiful day. We walked .8 mile on two different trails, Buttonbush Trail Loop and Marconi Beach Walk. Buttonbush Trail is located nearby Salt Pond Visitor Center. Many different plants and trees we walked through. Not many people have walked past us. Marconi Beach is not far away from Salt Pond Visitor Center. It was crazy and strong winds. Saw strong waves crashing the beach. But it was so peaceful to see when we were taking a stand and watch. We saw all three different lighthouses; Nauset Light, Three Sisters Lighthouses and Highland Light. It was very cool to see the real lighthouses. And it’s also closed. And we went to see Herring Cove Beach that was more peaceful to see the beach. The winds and the clouds were gone before us arrived. I took a short walk by the water. It’s a good therapy to walk. And I found a couple of cool detailed rocks. (I dropped off where I found afterwards.) It’s already checked off my bucket list. ❤️

Cape Cod National Seashore is a beautiful and expansive stretch of coastline with plenty of ways to explore. There are multiple access points to the beach, spots to learn about the area’s history through interpretive signs, scenic trails for hiking or biking, and iconic lighthouses to visit. The beach itself is calm in terms of crowds, which makes it a peaceful place to enjoy the sound of the waves — though the surf can be quite rough, so be cautious if you’re planning to swim. The sand is soft and clean, but we didn’t come across any seashells (maybe they’re more common in other seasons). The highlight for us was spotting many seals playing in the water — such a treat! Plenty of parking makes it easy to explore different sections of this beautiful national seashore.

Cape Cod is a beautiful place to visit with its sandy beaches, charming towns, and fresh seafood. It’s perfect for a summer getaway, whether you enjoy relaxing on the shore, biking the trails, or exploring small shops and lighthouses.
Asiri B — Google review
I love the Cape Cod National Seashore because it feels so beautifully preserved. My favorite part was exploring the Province Lands area; the rolling sandscape and dune shacks are incredible. If you go, start at the Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham for a great overview of the history and wildlife. The dramatic overlooks offer unbeatable views. It’s a perfect place to spend a whole day, just be sure to bring layers.

An amazing place, a few hundred meters from the ocean shore on sand dunes, there are lakes and tall trees like in the forests on the mountains. Highly recommend

Wineries & Vineyards
Truro Vineyards is a family-owned winery located in North Truro, Massachusetts, on the stunning Outer Cape. The vineyard uses grapes from its five-acre property near the ocean and sources varietals from around the country to produce a diverse range of wines, including cabernet francs and sauvignon blancs. Visitors can enjoy tastings at the 1830s farmhouse tasting room and explore the idyllic grounds.
I’d seen the lighthouse bottles in my local grocery store and FINALLY got to go to the winery they come from! Truro Vineyards is a very cute spot. I’m sure it gets busy on weekends, but we happened to go on a cloudy Saturday so it wasn’t very hectic. We did the wine tasting and whiskey tasting, both of which came with a souvenir glass! The whiskey tasting also came with the cocktail of the day. Getting to taste quite a few things was great! The service was good too. Our waitress was super nice and even though she had a lot of tables, we didn’t feel ignored. It was nice to just have a spot to sit and sample! We bought some chips in the gift shop to have a palette cleanser between samples, which made for a great late afternoon overall!
Jenna M — Google review
They place might be nice. However its a tourist trap. Shipping fruit in from Maine and New York to make the wine. Vs local grown. Begs the question for the vineyard. . Would I return: waste of my time and money... it's not a real vineyard to me... It's a processing plant. Nothing more, nothing less. Anyone can stag this to look like a vineyard when its not.
Elle D — Google review
We booked this place for core ting my cousins birthday. We definitely booked this in advance. However they have plenty of space. All together a very good experience and well maintained place. My family and I are grateful to Kristen who helped us while planning this whole day tour.

Another must-visit place on the Cape is Truro Vineyards. It can get crowded but it is totally worth it. Do a tasting and keep the glasses. Spend time exploring the grounds or under the 200 year old elm tree. Visit the shop and try the different food trucks. It is also a nice stop on the way to P-town.
Max K — Google review
Always make a point of visiting the vineyard at least once while I’m in town. Sunday Funday is one of my favorites - live music, great food from the Blackfish Crushpad, refreshing cocktails and dog friendly! My parents are wine club members so they always do a free wine tasting. You can’t leave without a visit to the store inside and grabbing some bottles to go.

If you’re in cape this place is nice to visit. Peach Bourbon Ice cream is must try flavor. It’s nice experience to witness how wines are made.

The wines we tasted were good. Summer white and diamond white. They have a lot of items to purchase in their store. Painted shell art for Christmas.

what a cute little vineyard! my party and I did the classic wine flight which wasn’t anything crazy but you do get a free wine glass! Although the wine wasn’t 10/10 there was great ambiance. my reason for giving 5 starts is for the lobster roll. I’ve had a lot of lobster rolls but i’m not sure what they put in this one. The bun was so sweet yet slightly toasted with the cold lobster inside with some sort of mayonnaise aioli and scallions. would return for one of their live music events!

Amazing pastries! Large selection. Staff was very friendly. They also serve lunch, pizza etc. Great indoor and outdoor eating. The picture of my blueberry muffin was after to took a bite. So many blueberries inside, just delicious

Went for ice cream after my birthday dinner. Had salty caramel. The best I’ve ever had. The vanilla is good after a quick taste to decide. Key lime cheesecake so good. Bought a pint apiece to bring back to NY. Truly exceptional ice cream based on a small sample of flavors. Go and explore! Went twice for lattes. Not the best coffee base I’ve had. A bit harsh. They have personalization area with various sugars, chocolate, cinnamon powders and milk / cream additions if desired. Blueberry scones heated up were good. Hubs had a cinnamon roll which was underwhelming to him.

A convenient place for all 3 meals + ice cream. Good place for grab and go breakfast with pastry and sandwich options. Was there on a summer weekend and service was fairly quick for how busy it was.

I tried the pizza, a few pastries, and the homemade ice cream. All are fantastic. I will be going here again anytime I'm in the area. They have nice indoor and outdoor seating. The prices are fair. The help seemed a little rushed but very prompt. Excellent place to eat.

Nice bakery items in the morning. Be aware of scam upon checkout. It seems that the management encourages the staff to overcharge for items. Cash register display is not visible to customers. Our cashier told me the total was $106. I asked for an itemized receipt. Receipt total was around $96. The manager who did the correction for the credit card charge did not bat an eye or even acknowledge the error. Once we checked the items on the receipt to what we ordered, we found out they included an extra charge for a cinnamon swirl. We got 3, but were charged for 4. So for the order of $91 they wanted to charge us $106. I guess times are tough on the cape nowadays. Will never go there again. Have receipts and witnesses to prove these facts.

Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Homemade ice cream, too! Always love coming here. Great outdoor seating under the trees. Used to be open year round. Miss not having them open in autumn, winter, spring. They were popular with locals during the quiet seasons when nothing else was open.

Welcomed with courtesy at the counter, despite not having a reservation (which is advisable to secure a table), we were treated to attentive and impeccable service. The cuisine at Blackfish in Cape Cod stands out for its high-quality ingredients, with a menu that impresses with its off-menu seasonal offerings and numerous vegetarian options. Great oysters. Don't miss the chance to pair your meal with a selection of fine Truro wines, which perfectly complement a memorable dining experience.

We had a wonderful dinner for 5 for a girlfriend’s bachelorette. We were promptly sat for our 6:15 reservation. The food was outstanding. The bread, mussels, and beet apps were shared by all. We had the butter poached lobster, The mushroom pappardelle, a build your own burger, and the fish piccata. Everyone loved their meals. Service was outstanding, she was knowledgable and very kind. 10/10 will return and would recommend to anyone in the area or visiting. Cheers!

We happened to drive by this restaurant while exploring Truro. It was fabulous! What a find! Everything was perfect.
Marcia P — Google review
Everything we (group of four) ordered was excellent: the pepper squid appetizer, the beer appetizer, the clam appetizer, the halibut special, the short ribs, and the tuna Bolognese - all fantastic. And the chocolate torte for dessert was equally great! Service was friendly and on spot, and while the restaurant was busy, it was not noisy.
Costa R — Google review
What an awful experience! Though the service was good, the food was abysmal. While our apps were acceptable (longnook salad and a scallop special) the mains were terrible. Both were specials - I had the halibut which was ridiculously dry, no sauce to speak of and enough root vegetables to feed several plates. It had clearly been premade and reheated, probably in a microwave and the 'sauce' was a drizzle under the mound of veggies that served no purpose for the halibut. The grill marks looked fake! My husband ordered the other special Chicken a la King that arrived with shredded dry chicken and no cream sauce. I had one glass of crazily overpriced Sancerre and we each had a dessert (chocolate pie - ok and carrot cake - tiny and meh). The bill was over $250 (after tip). Never again, especially after having wonderful fresh food in other places nearby. Such a shame!
Paul J — Google review
The food was terrible. Chicken a la King was dry and not served in a cream sause and the halibut was dry and flavorless. Both were served extremely hot…artificially so…like they had been heated up in a microwave. The bread was stale. Pretty good service but who wants to spend $250 for that?
Stephen K — Google review
Had the seafood stew, lobster broth w no lobster, the other ingredients excellent tho. My wife had the duck, she was good with it. Atmosphere a little stiff, the restaurant was fine, service excellent as well.
William L — Google review
Went for dinner one night and it was so good we came back again a couple of days later for dinner. All the good was amazing. Not a single bad dish on both visits. Lots of great specials each night. If you do go, please get the tuna bolognese. I think its maybe top 3 pasta dishes of my life. Its really that good. We ate it twice. Do not sleep on the desserts. Amazing. This place will be on my list to visit again and again on future trips to the cape. T

If you're exploring the local art scene, a visit to Jobi Pottery and Gallery is an absolute must. Established in 1953, this charming spot continues to embrace traditional mid-century casting techniques, ensuring that every piece is crafted by hand. This dedication to artistry makes each item unique and special. The gallery showcases over six decades of handcrafted and hand-painted pottery alongside a variety of other local artworks like jewelry, prints, and furniture.
Jobi has sweet pottery with a Cape vibe - my favorite are the pieces by Leah M-S, they have such a sweet aesthetic. I hope she keeps collaborating with Jobi!

If you’re interested in beautiful, locally made Cape Cod pottery and art, this is definitely the place for you. There is a large variety of hand painted pottery in many shapes and sizes in several nautically themed designs. The owner, Susan, is very friendly and extremely helpful. Prices are not exorbitant for high quality pottery, jewelry, paintings, photos and prints. It even has hand painted face masks in its signature design. A great place to visit and shop.

I stopped in yesterday and found the best gifts for my friends back home. I just moved here and my friends back home on Long Island were so supportive and loving as they saw me off to my new life...that I wanted to get them a meaningful gift. Upon my entering Jobi Pottery studio/store I was greeted and given the whole story of the history of this amazing pottery! Made right here on the Cape, hand painted, I knew these were the gifts I was looking for. If you are passing by be sure to stop in and experience this store.

Longnook Beach, located on the Outer Cape in Truro, is a secluded and picturesque destination that attracts travelers seeking tranquility. Backed by impressive dunes, this shoreline offers privacy and has become popular among nude sunbathers. Accessing the beach involves descending a steep sand dune, so it may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. Despite the effort to reach it, visitors find the seclusion and scenic beauty well worth it.
Nice quiet beach (we were in June though) There is a hill to go down to the beach and it's not easy or at least not for everyone. Young kids or old people might have a hard time climbing back to the parking lot.

Gorgeous in every way. We went at sunrise, saw seals and had a beautiful walk.

Gorgeous dunes and ocean overlooks (for the price of a steep dune climb), but direct access to the beach was closed for safety reasons when we visited.
Abigail R — Google review
A new favorite on the Cape, especially off season. We were there on two separate days in late September, once first thing in the morning to watch the sunrise and another day in the afternoon. On both days we probably saw less than 20 people during the 4ish hours we were there. A little bit of a chore getting to and from the parking lot but well worth it once we were on the beach. Water was still plenty warm for swimming too. Lots of seals swimming though so be shark aware.
Peter M — Google review
If you are looking for a spectacular beach surrounded by huge sand dunes you might consider checking out Longnook Beach. After 4pm you don’t need a special resident permit. When we were there we spotted a few seals in the water. I was very impressed by the rules in place for social distancing and the insistence of wearing masks.

Just a 1/2 mile down from the Longnook entrance to the beach is a great nude beach. There aren’t usually more than 8 or 10 people there, and it’s a cool way to make some friends, too.

Pilgrim Spring Trail, located in Cape Cod National Seashore, holds historical significance as the site where the Pilgrims found their first fresh water in New England. This 2.3-mile loop trail winds through pine and oak forests, offering panoramic views of the town and harbor. While it's a short and easy hike, visitors should be aware that the landscape can become dry during summer months. The trail is known for its scenic beauty with occasional glimpses of the Atlantic Ocean.
Signage has faded. Trailheads are not clearly marked (which way to the bike trail?). Very easy walking.

Nice, simple, clean. Watch out for lots of ticks, mainly deer ticks (the bad ones)... didn't see too much PI, but it's always around on cape, so be sensitive. Both this trail and Smalls swamp are short and easy. Nice views and quiet.
Kyle N — Google review
Nice, easy short hike with a good view of the dunes and ocean below. The trail is moderately maintained and had some tall grassy spots when we visited - take the usual tick precautions. Signage is adequate but on the minimal side.

Short, easy and fun. Once you get to the memorial you can turn around and go back the way you came. For a longer hike I continued on and came out near the bathrooms and a different parking lot than I had parked in so I simply turned around and did the whole trail in reverse.

Went for a run along this here. Very boring and full of mosquitos. Walk both trails and you will only get 1 mile. Recommend for a walk with a kid or dogs, not for hikers or runners. However, there are picnic areas and nice views.

Beautiful quiet beach. Good place to take rest. Very quite and serene area. Sea was kinda rough. And also there are Harvard boards for shark sightings. So I don't think this is a beach for swimming.

Coast Guard Beach is a stunning shoreline with a long stretch of sand that extends as far as the eye can see. The beach is well-maintained and offers clean portapotties and a hand wash station for visitors' convenience. South of Head of the Meadow beach, this beach is open only to cars with Truro permits. It has beautiful sand dunes and you can find plenty of space. This is an "ocean side" beach, so the water tends to be a bit colder than on the bay side of Truro.

Beautiful, unspoiled topography, with huge ancient sand dunes left over from receding glaciers which dissipated with the last warming cycle, 10,000 years ago. See what the Pilgrims saw over 400 years ago! Unfortunately, do not swim or recreate in the water during the summer or fall months because of the relatively recent shark infestation, caused by the unintended consequences of short-sighted, government policies since 1972. Thousands of protected great white sharks migrate to these recreational beaches every summer and fall to feed on an exploding, and uncontrolled gray seal population that has eradicated, (eaten) cod fish and other indigenous fish and polluted many areas, especially at or near the seal haul outs with odious, seal feces. Swim at your own risk! Great white sharks prey in shallow water along these, once safe, swimming beaches that are now very unsafe.

Beautiful well maintained beach that stretches on as far as you can see. We usually camp near here in August because we thought it was a dog friendly beach but this year we came in July and found out the are some rare nesting birds on the beach and dogs ate strictly not allowed so plan accordingly. During the summer months you will almost always see seals swimming just off the shore line which is a very nice treat for kids.

Great beach, limited parking. We were able to avoid parking because we could walk to beach from our campground.

Great beach...clean portapottys and a hand wash station, sand is clean, walk down on these great plastic fiber mats... many seal sightings
Sam S — Google review
Great ocean beach. But no life guards these days. There can be lots of seals and the constant threat of sharks. But a nice beach to spend the day on or fishing from.

Beautiful place to view seals and sandy, clay cliffs that meet a sandy beach!

Garden center
Plant nursery
Bayberry Gardens, Inc. is a hidden gem for garden enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Nestled in a picturesque location, this charming garden center boasts an impressive array of flowers, vegetables, and shrubs that thrive in the unique Cape environment. From the hardy Rosa Rugosa to lush Privet varieties, every plant is meticulously cared for and healthy. The selection here includes some rare finds that you won't encounter at larger chain nurseries.
I’m a garden center junkie who loves to explore a well stocked nursery even if I’m hundreds of miles from my home. When I first drove by Bayberry Gardens, I told my wife, I needed to plan a visit! Sometimes you might walk past a restaurant or bakery and have that appreciation that you have to return because of the aromas that you breathe in. Here I was driving with our windows closed and yet I knew I had just driven by one spectacular garden center. Of course I returned and I was, indeed overwhelmed by their gorgeous potted plants and great selection of annuals and perennials. The staff was gracious and very knowledgeable and while I was shopping outside, there was great attention and signage regarding wearing masks and respecting social distancing. While it’s already July, Bayberry’s still has a huge selection of vegetable and flower seedlings as well as tomato cages and other supplies. They even have ladybugs! I was debating buying a container for our ride home! My one little worry was if the container opened up in transit, it might necessitate hitchhiking the rest of the way! Their prices were very reasonable and I’m definitely making one last stop before we depart for our trip home!

We stopped in last year while on vacation. We got some great & very healthy plants. We plan on stopping by again sometime during our vacation again this year. July 13-20,2024.

Fantastic selection of flowers, vegetables and shrubs all suited for the unique growing conditions on the Cape. From Rosa Rugosa to Privet if it thrives on the Cape you will find it here. Everything is well taken care of and healthy and there are some really unusual finds you would not see at the big box store nursery section

Tom has a beautiful collection of paintings at his studio on Depot Road. He manages to capture both detail and deep emotion in his work. I highly recommend visiting to meet him and view his latest work, I’ll definitely be back!!

Cape Cod Artist. I love Thomas A D Watson's paintings, a commission of my first boat captures a magical evening fishing the mouth of the Pamet at dusk with my best friend, a print of two men fishing a sandbar on Ballston that always reminds me of fishing with my father, and a painting of Race Point Light, painted from the Rip. Thomas AD Watson captures all that is special to me about fishing and being afloat on the Cape. I strongly recommend a visit to his Truro Art Gallery. Collector Mark Beaver London

I have collected several of Thomas AD Watson’s pictures over the years, a truly talented Cape Cod Artist. His seascapes are more than beautiful, they are deeply personal and allow me to take a little nugget of the peace, beauty and wildness of the Cape home to England with me. Last year I brought a very special painting by Thomas, capturing the very essence of the Adirondacks, the fog just lifting off the water, every one of his paintings feels like a memory captured on canvas. It's a must to go and see his Truro Art Gallery. Collector Ming Veevers-Carter England/Cape Cod

Tom Watkins is a treasure. As a Cape Cod artist based in Truro, he was able to capture a muddy low tide Wellfleet harbor view dear to my family’s heart. He also hand made the frame out of old growth heart pine. Photo below.
