History Museums
The Turks and Caicos National Museum, housed in The Guinep House, offers a fascinating journey through the history and culture of the islands. It showcases exhibits on slavery, indigenous peoples, and even a 16th-century shipwreck. The museum also delves into the natural history of the area, featuring galleries on geology and island ecology. Visitors can explore artifacts from Indian occupation to modern times, including significant events like John Glenn's visit after his historic space flight.
The Museum was a part of an Island Tour. It was a quaint little place packed with history about the island's roots. It's directly across from the ocean so the views are stunning. They had a food truck selling local food and children from the island sold beautiful handmade bracelets on the outside. Beautiful experience! My son's smile says it all❤️

Hidden gem on Grand Turk! The museum was included with our excursion (Panoramic Painting) via the cruise ship. Informative history and well laid out exhibits and displays. Found the video playing very interesting and room layouts were easy to navigate. Only reason I couldn't rate a 5 is I found the prices in the gift shop to be very high esp since locals literally down the street were selling the same items for less.
Kristina R — Google review
The couple that run the museum are so sweet! I am in a wheelchair full time, and unfortunately the museum is not wheelchair accessible… so, they brought amazing artifacts out to me to see, telling me stories or history of each item. They also shared general history of the island and the house which was very interesting.
Valerie L — Google review
Nice museum, where you can learn about the history of the islands. There's nothing interactive, just a small traditional museum, but interesting enough. No restrooms, though. Also, lots of vendors nearby (and free restrooms there) selling souvenirs. The view from the parking lot is beautiful, this turquoise water is just magnificent.

Wonderful staff! The museum was clean and easy to maneuver around. The gift shop had some really cool little doodads as well. I appreciate the A/C too! I went the first week of May and it was a hot day with no breeze.
Stephanie G — Google review
Beautiful Museum. I loved the Gift Store. Very special and beautiful local items for sale. I bought some post cards here. 6 for $5. Everything was reasonably priced. This Island depends upon tourism and visitors. Lots of beautiful scenery to admire. This Museum is across the street from the Ocean. The Tram stopped across the street and I was able to visit. Burros are free to roam the Island. I bought many beautiful things here. Everyone loved the Island. It was a cruise favorite. The Admission price is affordable, $5. Yearly Admission available.

Good to see various heritage and history in other countries. As a Mason, I was able to see some lodges out by the beach. The locals were friendly. We rented a golf cart to get around. Nothing like seeing the city at 20 mph. Beach was clean and beautiful

Grand Turk is a picturesque island that beautifully blends history with adventure. Visitors can explore its charming historic structures while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of a cruise ship complex filled with shops and dining options. The island also boasts stunning diving spots, making it an ideal destination for both relaxation and exploration. With pristine beaches like Osprey Beach just a short stroll away, guests can soak up the sun or take refreshing dips in the crystal-clear waters.
One of my favorite cruise ports, because it's simply shopping and a public beach as soon as you exit the ship. The beach is quite rocky but beautiful. You can do without water shoes, but I prefer to wear them. The craft area shopping is nice, not pushy like other ports. The people of Grand Turk are kind and ready to help. I've been 3 times in a year, and it's still just so beautiful to look at the drop off at the wall. Go to a higher deck on your ship for a gorgeous view! We try to be off the ship early to have less people on the beach. Highly recommend!
Melissa G — Google review
Pay to sit on the beach chair 🙃 and 20$ per chair. But on a brighter side, oh my goodness guys this is such a beautiful crystal clear white sand beach !!! We went on a cruise name Freedom of the Seas and I was stunned by it. Humidity was crazy though. Cute little shops to shop from. The water was just perfect in September. You can literally see the fishes 🐠 with naked eyes on the beach. 🏖️ absolutely stunning
SHRUTI G — Google review
Grand Turk has one of the most picturesque cruise ports in the Caribbean — small, easy to navigate, and set up for relaxation. The sea around Grand Turk is stunning — a mix of bright turquoise and deep sapphire blue. The beach right at the port has gentle waves, clear water, and soft white sand, making it perfect for a quick swim without going far. Overall, Grand Turk’s port is designed to let you step right off the ship into a tropical, easygoing atmosphere — swim, shop, grab a drink, or explore without ever needing transportation.
Kristina B — Google review
It's a fine place, I've been here a few times. There are chair scammers out there so beware... The chairs to the left and right of the cruise pier are free.. Further down to the left they are not but scammers try and get you for the free chairs (blue/white) . The reason why I give four stars is because the water has always been calm when I visited making it good for families with smaller kids. Whale beach to the far right of the Pier is closed (9.8.25) all the sand washed out. Margaritaville has some free chairs, not all. The pool is mainly waist deep with a swim up bar.

Very beautiful Island. Went in July 2024 on a cruise and the island has an amazing beach with tons of activities to do on the island. The sand very soft and feels great on your feet. There is a good amount of stores and food places to go and everything is walkable. Would definitely come back for sure.

Outdoor Activities
Pillory Beach is a serene and secluded spot on Grand Turk Island, offering clear waters for swimming and diving, as well as a sandy shore lined with casuarina trees. It provides an escape from the crowds, making it perfect for those seeking tranquility. Nearby attractions include East Side Beach, which boasts stunning ocean views and is great for beachcombing.
We stayed here at the far end in a beautiful accommodation called Pillory beach club. This is for those looking to be far away from cruise ship crowds, just enjoying island life at slow pace, watching the sunset, splashing in the water (we had quite a bit of waves and it was also rocky underneath). There are friendly dogs and donkeys coming by frequently, and otherwise it's perfect for relaxing and doing nothing (maybe sunbathing). You can take a long beach walk if you keep going further, and you can spot a few interesting birds e.g. ospreys and pelicans.
Djamila A — Google review
Nice, narrow beach, mostly quiet. No businesses, so just handful of cruisers who had rented golf carts there.
Melissa R — Google review
We were not hotel guests, but there on a port day from our cruise ship. We rented a beach chair for $10 each. It was not very crowded at all. We swam in the beautiful waters and basked in the sun. We had lunch there, and it was very good. We may even return there on another trip.
Lisa F — Google review
This was my home base beach as it was the closest to my Airbnb. As I didn't really wanted to venture further down the island to the other beaches. It's an island beach! You get your soft, white sand and clear waters. Most sections had seaweed and there were parts where it was quite rocky. Waters were not that rough. Very open, so plenty of room to not be close to anyone else.
Kevin K — Google review
Beautiful quiet beach. Small bar to get drinks. Wonderful sand.
Kim — Google review
The water is amazingly clear and beautiful aqua blue. There are a number of buetiful beaches. If you bring a snokle mask you can stop and swim at any of the beaches. The grand turk island is still recovering from the hurricane, it appears to be a very poor island, lots of debris, wild stray dogs and donkeys all over. Margaritaville is right off the pier port, its a nice place to shop, eat. We rented a golf carr for the day for $100. Id recommend a car or jeep, the golf cart was too slow.
Troy M — Google review
A little disappointing. We rented a golf cart and "toured" the island (Grand Turk). There just isn't much to do. We saw the whole thing and spent a little time at a beach in about 3 hours. The beach itself was ok. You can see how beautiful the water is in the picture. Otherwise it was pretty average with no accommodations. If you go to this island it's probably best to just get a beach chair and sit in front of Margaritaville. The pictures below are the main attractions of the island.
Will H — Google review
Excellent, beautiful, quiet beach. Well worth the 15 minute taxi ride from the cruise ship terminal. Crystal clear water and decent snorkeling. You can use some facilities of a local hotel for a reasonable fees (beach chairs, showers, snorkeling, paddle boards). There is also a small restaurant where you can eat and drink.

Governor’s Beach is a true gem in the Caribbean, celebrated for its stunningly clear turquoise waters and soft white sand that beckons visitors to dive in for a swim or explore the underwater world while snorkeling. The beach offers designated areas with comfortable chairs and some shade from trees and umbrellas, although these spots can fill up quickly. Local vendors provide tasty food and refreshing non-alcoholic drinks, but if you're looking for something stronger, you'll need to bring your own.
The beach is public, beautiful and clean. Recently visited with a Royal Caribbean cruise. The water has many shades of blue beginning with almost crystal clear blue. The sand was a little grainy with tiny sea shells but soft. When going in the water you could find yourself on the deep end quick. There are chairs and umbrellas for rent as well as kioks where you can order food, drinks and liquor. We ordered a rum punch pouch and it was $15.00 (US). Virgin would've been $10.00. There are wild donkeys roaming around but they don't bother anyone and they are mainly looking for food. The locals chase them away if they get too close. The locals are also very welcoming and speak english, a little spanish and creole. For water activities there are nearby jet-ski rentals and paragliding as well as boat tours. Definitely a must visit with family or just a significant other.
Yudi R — Google review
It's a great beach! 5 minute drive from the cruise port. Perfect for escaping the crowds. There's a couple of stands for food and drinks and chairs and umbrella for rent. You can negotiate the price for those because they try to rip tou off. The started offering 1 umbrella and a chair for 30 and ended up with 2 chairs 1 umbrella for 15.
Cindy L — Google review
It was fantastic. One of the best beaches I have experienced. Water was clear blue, and the sand, out of this world. Just fabulous!!!!!
Lazaro E — Google review
We had an awesome time at Governor’s Beach today. It’s close to the cruise terminal and seemed much less crowded than the beach right next to the ship.
Chad F — Google review
Went on a tour that brought us to Governors Beach. I'm glad I did it. This beach was beautiful, no crowds and no obstructed views of the ocean.
Blsdbyndmsr — Google review
Beautiful beach! Perfect location! Great food available for purchase nearby.
Heather M — Google review
I loved the fact you got off the ship and there was nothing else to it. You just walked. The beaches were Rocky, the one closest to the ship smelled that day. The shops were nice and I loved that there was a Starbucks. Would I go back? Probably not. I'm sure there was a lot more to see. And the amount of time we had to visit was perfect.
Bunner 2 — Google review
Really cool place as long as there is no cruise ship docked. The water is amazing and you can see the cargo dock and might get to watch a ship come in or go out. You can also find a good amount of sea glass here! My kids loved diving for it!

Cockburn Town Beach is a picturesque spot with stunning white sand and clear waters, set against the backdrop of British Colonial Architecture. The beach may be narrow and experience some surf during high ocean swell. It is divided into several small beaches due to seawalls, jetties, and docks. Visitors can enjoy the tranquility of this beautiful beach, which offers crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and photography.
Very chill little beach area. We didn't see many fish, but we also didn't see many people. Glad we went to Barbie's for lunch down the street!

Erick W — Google review
It was quiet and empty with a beautiful view and clear water
Ronson A — Google review
Was here on a Friday afternoon and the beach was deserted. No shops were open and no one was around. The beach was absolutely beautiful. The piers had obviously been damaged by the most recent hurricane but I couldn't resist walking out on the one pier and I was rewarded with a beautiful view. If we had brought a picnic basket it would have been a perfect spot to have a romantic lunch. The water was crystal clear and you can see the amazing colors in the pictures. We just waded in the water for a little while before heading into town to explore. A few shops being open would have been nice, not quite sure where everyone was.
Team R — Google review
Public access to one of many fine beaches along the Western shore. Parking may be difficult to find at times. The waters are clear and contain several coral nodes as well as old coral formations, no longer a living reef. Snorkelling is fair with numerous small fish ad well as areas with little marine life. From shore look close at the color of water offshore where it changes from turquoise to dark blue. This change in color is the s"tart of "The Wall" a 7,000 foot deep trench attracting scuba divers from around the world.

Historical landmark
The Grand Turk Lighthouse, though no longer in operation, offers a picturesque coastal setting with limestone cliffs that are open to visitors. The former light keeper's house has been transformed into a gift and snack shop, adding to the charm of the place. Situated on the north end of Grand Turk, this historic lighthouse has guided mariners for decades and remains resilient despite facing numerous hurricanes. Visitors can enjoy majestic views of the Atlantic Ocean and lush greenery surrounding the lighthouse.
The views are spectacular and the rum punch is magical 😅 Never in a million years would I have thought my favorite drink on my vacation would be at a lighthouse at the end of the island 😂 There is a place to get a quick bite and a small gift shop with novelties, coffee and rum. There were wild donkeys in the parking lot. What a fun day. Definitely recommend!
Tara V — Google review
It was quite an experience. Stunning views. The donkeys stole an unopened bag of chips out of or golf cart while we were viewing the light houses. Found him ears deep in the potato chip bag having a feast. Had to play tug of war with another one to retrieve the unopened pack of crackers. They were insistent but not at all aggressive. Definitely gave a story to tell.
Diamomdgrl — Google review
I really liked my time at the Lighthouse . It’s not particularly a well done attraction or any glitz and glam. It’s more the simple island breeze , the greats views and the signs that help explain some brief history about the location. If you are on Grand Turk, I would recommend stopping here at least once and getting a fresh breath of free Ocean air :)
DavPru — Google review
Very beautiful Island. I love to visit places before suggesting someone. Not too big. Half day is enough to explore the island unless someone wants to stay in the beaches for longer. Cruises are the best option.
Susetha S — Google review
Watch out for the vendors outside the grounds. You are not suppose to feed the burros but you can buy food to do so. Also, we purchased a conch shell, but we could not bring it on board. Just beware. The lighthouse, the ocean overlook and the historical signs are all very fascinating.
Marlo A — Google review
Amazing views and rich history. Recommend bringing cash for the restaurant and bar. There is also WiFi here.

Travelled by golf cart to the lighthouse, right at the top of the island. There's facilities there such as lovely cooked food and music, but must bring cash only. Stayed less than an hour, lighthouse was impressive but tbh, all lighthouses are aren't they... very small island can get around it in less than two hours, lots of donkies

The port itself boasts numerous stores and amenities, as well as a beautiful beach with free lounge chairs available. Grand Turk was absolutely gorgeous. The beaches were clear blue water. The waves were so much fun. The stores were the same as the ships with the exception of Margaritaville which was very cool because you can swim in a nice pool at no cost. We did the adult only beach excursion, this was a blast. The waves were a bit bigger here, and the lunch was amazing!

The shopping village is compact but inviting, with a mix of duty-free shops, jewelry stores, and island boutiques. You’ll also find souvenirs, handmade crafts, and beachwear. Overall, Grand Turk’s port is designed to let you step right off the ship into a tropical, easygoing atmosphere — swim, shop, grab a drink, or explore without ever needing transportation.
Kristina B — Google review
So this was my second time to visit here in 2025. My first visit was on the CCL Mardi Gras in February 2025. My second visit was in November 2025 on the Carnival Venezia. The first trip was more of a discovery and exploration of the port and the island on ATVs (excursion arranged by the Carnival Adventure team) - we hung out at Margaritaville in the port for the morning and we did our excursion in the afternoon. The second trip was much more of a deep dive since we were already familiar with the basics , layout and superficial details of Grand Turk. November 2025’s trip involved a $30 two hour tour in a taxi with three stops. (At the capital city - Cockburn Town ; the lighthouse; and the Grand Turk sign). We learned much more about the culture and history behind the UK Commonwealth and some significant historical and cultural happenings in the islands four hundred years ago history . I would certainly return and go to Govern’s Beach. (Rent a golf cart) if you want a big loud beach with lots of people , drinking and drama go to Margaritaville in the port or go to Jack Shack just down the road from the port . Enjoy your time !

This island is absolutely awesome. We did a tour and it was very informative and awesome. If you do a tour, I would recommend the tour bus that has the double bus connection with colorful decals. Sorry, I couldn't find the name of it. I think its Rainbow Calypso, but the tour guide name was Rodney! He and his partner were awesome.
Nate Y — Google review
The dogs on the street are so skinny. It's a shame I should have taken something for them to eat. You can do a little bit of snokeling here. It's easy to get scratched by coral. Be careful.
Jess W — Google review
I spent about 5 minutes inside the port so my review will not be reflecting it. From the time we got off the boat be made a straight line to getting out of the port town and out the front gate. The port town looked like it had a lot of shops and we saw a pool. Once you left the front gate it was night and day difference. It was like leaving Disney world (what I imagine it would be, never been), from bright blues and paved roads to dust and run down buildings everywhere. My wife and I ventured an hour out the front gate past the people trying to rent you thing and made it to quiet beach where we spent the day before heading back. If given the chance I would do it again.
Joseph N — Google review
The final destination of our unforgettable vacation cruise is the breathtaking Turks and Caicos, where pristine beaches meet crystal-clear turquoise waters.

One of the best cruise ports there is! There is so much to do and a lot of the culture is there. Highly recommended!

The restaurant is known for its waterfront location, providing stunning views of Pillory Beach in Cockburn Town. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing meal while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
What an amazing location. This restaurant made my sister’s wedding dreams come true. It was incredible. The food was delicious and the staff were beyond helpful making this such a special day to remember.

This venue is very overrated! I visited on 8/29/24. I waited happily on the beach for two hours until they opened because I was told by a local it was their favorite spot. While the lady tending the place was very nice she was not very attentive. The place was not nearly packed enough for the subpar service and we sat right across from the bar feeling very ignored while she addressed every table but ours. After about 20 minutes, we went to the bar to ask for a menu (which is written on a board around the side: no issue with that) and then had to go back to the bar and order although she took orders directly from other tables. $28 for a piece of salmon and French fries was ridiculous! Especially since the taste was that of a $10 fish special. The vibes were nice but my wallet, taste buds and tummy were much happier when I found Barbie’s a little ways down the road. I plan to visit the island again soon, but Sandbar will not be on my list of places to stop.

This is *the* beach bar on Grand Turk, serving beers, rum punches, dark 'n stormies and more, which we enjoyed several times during our week on the island. We also had lunch there one day, with tasty fish & chips with salad, plus excellent grilled pork chops with salad and peas & rice. It's a chill, low-key spot with a mix of visitors and locals. (Be prepared: it's cash only.)

I can not say enough good about this place!!! We visited from Tennessee, and the staff and Manager were an absolute welcoming DELIGHT! WOW! The food was absolutely amazing! I had the grilled grouper, and I’m still raving about how fresh and flavorful it was. You will not find a better spot in Grand Turk, and the views are unmatched! Thank you Kat for being so kind and hospitable to make our visit a great experience!

Spent the morning on the beach next to Sandbar. Walked over for a great lunch. Chicken was hand breaded and fried. Beautiful views and friendly service.

We loved this cool little restaurant on our visit to Grand Turk during our Carnival cruise. You just can’t beat the view, beautiful. The food and service were awesome, full liquor bar as well. This place is super close to the port and if your looking for a good bite, good food, and a truly stunning view then this is the best spot we found on the island. I highly recommend a stop here if your exploring the island.

This place was recommended by several locals on Grand Turk. While the service was a bit slow compared to what we are accustomed to “off island”…it was WELL worth the wait. Fried conch and local beer was delicious. The setting is STUNNING and felt like a totally private beach (as there were only 5 other people there!) Highly recommend and will always be a highlight of our Grand Turk visit.

The Sand Bar came highly recommended to us in our trip to Grand Turk and we were not disappointed. The location is right by the beach off of Duke Street. It has an amazing view and very chill atmosphere. In fact, one of the owners, Tanya, said she doesn't advertise the place to the millions of cruise tourists who visit the island. This is to keep the authentic chill vibe the locals and on island visitors have come to appreciate. The food here is fresh and generous. It is also fairly priced compared to to the many hotel restaurants in the surrounding area. The tab for 4 of us with drinks, appetizers and main dish came to about $80. I would definitely stop and check this place out if you are looking to experience the island vibe of Grand Turks!

Grand Turk Diving Company offers an exceptional diving and snorkeling experience at the renowned Grand Turk Wall, which plunges to depths of 7,000 ft. This location is ideal for encountering rare sea creatures and diverse coral species. The company provides personalized excursions, ensuring a more intimate and memorable experience compared to standard boat tours. Visitors praise the excellent communication and punctuality of the staff, particularly highlighting Captain Jamal's expertise in guiding them to the best spots along the wall.
I recently became SCUBA certified and had planned a Caribbean Cruise with my family to get dive experience in a place I have dreamed of. Grand Turk Diving Company (Smitty in particular) provided an excellent, safe, enjoyable first 2 "official" dives in my logbook. Early in the booking process, email communication was clear, costs and deposit were understandable, and instructions for reaching their building from my cruise ship were outstanding and made my arrival hassle-free (even quoting where to find taxis and cost for the trip from the cruise port). Take note: Grand Turk and Blue Water Dive Companies are located in the same building. Once I arrived, the balance remainder and payment were clear, and equipment rental was a breeze. On the boat, Smitty was clear about the dive plan, safety-checking the equipment, helping me get on the gear, and assisting my dive buddies with their gear and needs. Being new to SCUBA, he talked me more through the process of pressure equalization, how to position my body at depth, how to properly clean/defog my mask, and gave pointers for safety and to maximize enjoyment. So many sites and fish to see at 40-50 feet deep! I would not hesitate to recommend this dive company and I highly recommend Smitty for dives. I felt safe, comfortable, and this experience has given me the passion to continue SCUBA!
Brsedu — Google review
We booked a guided dive with them well in advance. To reserve, you pay half of the amount as a deposit, and the remaining balance plus tax when you arrive. Everything went smoothly—they helped us choose the right equipment to rent. I was a bit nervous about wall diving since I’m a beginner, but my dive instructor Derek(Le Le), was amazing. He always kept an eye on me, made sure I was safe, and helped me enjoy the experience. That support gave me more confidence, and my second dive felt much smoother because of it. If you’re a beginner, I highly recommend this dive center—the instructors are fantastic and truly take care of you. We dove from a boat, and in my personal experience, boat diving is easier than shore diving because you don’t have to carry all the equipment yourself. Our first dive site was called Coral Canyons, where we saw beautiful coral reefs, a barracuda, and a stingray. On our second dive, the instructor took us to an old Spanish anchor—it was super cool to see!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience snorkeling with Grand Turk Diving. They communicated well and were on time to pick us at the beach. We traveled with Carnival but didn’t want the normal overcrowded boat excursion. This was a perfect, more personal, experience we were looking for. Jamal was our captain and he dropped us off at all the best spots along the wall. We will book again and recommend them to our friends.
Meredith O — Google review
Great snorkel trip! Jamal was very knowledgeable and went the extra mile to add to the experience with a conch dive partway through! Definitely one of the best memories we have had snorkeling anywhere! Would highly recommend them for any diving or snorkeling around Grand Turk!

Just got back from our 5 day cruise with my family. We took an excursion with this company, there was 11 of us. We had such a memorable time, thanks to our wonderful guide Jamal and of course Tyler. These two were so fun and made this excursion so unforgettable. Anybody looking for a wonderful time snorkeling and learning about Grand Turk, this is the place. And don't forget to ask for JAMAL.
Karen D — Google review
Thank you to Jamal and Tyler for such a phenomenal day of snorkeling on the island. They really worked to give us an exceptional experience! So personable and accommodating to some of our groups needs with mobility limitations. They made sure they were still able to have the full experience!!!

Great locally owned dive shop, excellent divers, kind, and generous. Chris the office manager is great at responding quickly to email and very detail oriented. Smitty is the owner, AKA “Duke of Diving”, he knows the wall as well as he knows the land. He took us whale watching, after 3 hours of scanning the sea, he found a mama whale and baby calf for us to watch. It was magical. I dove with both Jason and Jamal, two of the dive masters, both are sweet, lovely men, expert divers. Jason was my dive instructor as well, he did an incredible job walking me through each step of final training with great patience. My mom and I loved our week of adventure with these lovely humans. We saw sharks, rays, sea turtles, large schools of fish, and many other fish.

Nestled away from the bustling crowds, this serene beach offers an idyllic escape where you can enjoy the sun and surf in peace. Whether you're keen on kayaking, paddleboarding, or windsurfing, there's no shortage of activities to keep you engaged. For those who crave underwater exploration, booking a boat excursion for snorkeling or scuba diving will allow you to encounter vibrant marine life up close.
I highly recommend you check this out. Even while the cruise ships are in port, we were the only one's there. To the south there is a Columbus landfall sign.

My wife and I walked from the ship to this beach that she found prior to leaving on the cruise. With several breaks to look at other sights on the way over it took us about an hour to casually walk over from the cruise ships. To walk back without distractions is about 30 minutes. The only people on the beach were the occasional golf cart that pulled up for about 10 minutes to take pictures or a quick dip and they would leave. They would spend their time at the entrance. We walked further up the beach. It was very isolated and peaceful. We brought our own snorkels and saw fish of all different colors just feet from the shoreline. It was a great free experience!

The staff is known for being friendly and helpful, even assisting non-residents with printing forms and providing weather updates.
The seaside library building is wiped out, but the new(?) location on Osborne Rd next to Missicks Bakery is really nice...tons of computers, good wifi. Located just a short stroll from the Cruise Center on Grand Turk Island, Jack's Shack Beach Bar & Grill is a charming family-run eatery that has gained popularity among returning tourists. While it may not be as grand as Margaritaville, it is equally impressive in terms of its delectable Caribbean cuisine and laid-back beachside ambiance. This humble establishment offers a variety of classic Caribbean dishes and serves as an ideal spot to savor good food and enjoy the fun vibes of the island.
From the moment I walked into Jack’s Shack, I felt like I was being welcomed into a family gathering rather than just another customer. The hospitality here is genuinely next level - every single person on staff made me feel at home. The drinks were exceptional - you can tell they take real pride in what they serve. But what really sets this place apart is the incredible vibe. There’s something special about the atmosphere here that you just don’t find everywhere. It’s the kind of place where you come for a quick drink and end up staying for hours because you’re having such a great time. The service was outstanding throughout my visit. Attentive without being pushy, friendly without being fake - just genuine island hospitality at its finest. If you’re in Turks and Caicos and looking for an authentic local experience with amazing drinks and even better people, Jack’s Shack should be at the top of your list. Can’t wait to come back.
Lorian B — Google review
When we got off the ship, we walked all the way down the beach to the left of the pier and found Jack’s Shack, by far the best place on the strip! The water here was much clearer, the atmosphere quieter, and it felt like a little hidden gem compared to the busier spots near the ship. The food and drinks were incredible, honestly some of the best we had during our cruise. The conch is a must-try if you want to taste the local cuisine, and the cocktails were spot on. We snorkeled right off the beach and were pleasantly surprised by the variety of fish we saw. Going in the morning was the perfect choice; it was calmer, quieter, and made for great snorkeling. After lunch, the beach got much busier as more people returned from excursions. One tip: don’t be afraid to haggle for sun beds. Different vendors were charging different prices depending on the tourist, so listen to what others are paying and offer the same. Overall, Jack’s Shack was the highlight of our Grand Turk stop: great food, perfect beach, and a laid-back vibe you won’t want to leave!
Natalie G — Google review
Stopped by Jack Shack recently — the food was a bit of a mixed bag but overall a good experience. The conch fritters had a little too much filler and not enough actual conch, which was disappointing. However, the grouper and red snapper sandwiches totally made up for it — both were fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Great spot for seafood lovers if you know what to order!
Denise P — Google review
Came to Jack's Shack when in port on Carnival Freedom on 4/29/2025. Ordered tacos, jerk chicken, and cracked conch. Food is pricey, but the menu is available on the website, so you are prepared. Place was lively, and ordering was quick and easy, and food was brought to our table within 15 minutes, hot and fresh. Drinks were strong (expensive) but worth it. Nice shaded area to eat and get out of the sun.. Amazing beach access with views of the cruise terminal with beautiful crystal clear water. It was such a great experience, and I had a great time. Cracked conch was my favorite, try it if you havent!

Beautiful beach, great food, wonderful locals. Taxi ride was short from cruise ship but only cost 6.00, included a brief history of the island. Beach had wild donkeys and horses roaming around looking for snacks. White sand Beautiful crystal clear water. Jacks shack is famous local bar and outdoor restaurant on beach. Tried local fried shrimp 🍤, Fish tacos, peas and rice. Worth the trip to see and enjoy. Prices were very reasonable.

A place to party when you come Grand Turk. Lots of people , lots of golf carts, a pretty nice Caribbean beach, lots of food options and a cute gift little gift shop . Not really my cup of tea but it might be just what you are looking for !
DavPru — Google review
Walked here on a recommendation and it didn't disappoint, food was great, a little pricey but no complaints on the taste and portion sizes. They also have a gift shop area. My wife purchased a shirt, sticker and a bottle of tequila. Unfortunately they didn't wrap the bottle of any kind and a short time after leaving Jack's she tapped it against a counter at local jeweler's and it broke and spilled. In their defense we went back after my wife called them and explained what happened and the manager at Jack's didn't hesitate to replace everything that my wife purchased earlier as it was soaked in tequila. Big props to the manager at Jack's

Overrated, don't get me wrong the food was pretty good. We did jerk chicken, shrimp tacos, they didn't have the whole fish, the was kinda the whole reason. There's not really any service. Not sure what other options are near here but I will definitely look into trying something else next time.

We came to Grand Turk for a family trip. My husband and I are the only divers. My husband contacted Kristen to set up a couple of days of diving and a family snorkel trip. She was awesome and incredibly thorough. Made the process easy from start to finish. We dove with King & Nick who were fantastic. Really chill and professional. What really stood out to us was our snorkeling trip with Te. What an amazing human being. We had two small children (4&6) who can swim but obviously, at that age, aren’t going to be strong swimmers. We also had one adult who had never been in the ocean before. Te was so kind and encouraging. My granddaughters gravitated to his positive energy. I honestly can’t say enough good things about his patience and kindness. I would not hesitate to recommend Blue Water Divers. Class act.

We took a snorkeling trip with Blue Water Divers as a family of 5 at the end of May. Ended up being a private trip. Our guide was amazing. He explained what to expect while snorkeling and gave history of the island as we went up the coast. This was the first time I’ve gone on a guided snorkeling trip. He made sure to show us various fish and coral. The personal touch and expertise of the area made the trip fantastic. We also did a stop at the drop off, which was also amazing. Thankful for the opportunity and hope to come back.

Blue Water Divers was Amazing. Kristen was the best in staying in communication with me. We came down on a cruise in July. She was able to make arrangements so my son and I could get a dive in while we were in port. Our dive instructor Henry was excellent, this was my son fist time diving. He made him feel very comfortable in the water which added to his fist experiences scuba diving that he will never forget. I would highly recommend them.

We spent a wonderful and relaxing 9 nights on the island of Grand Turk. Our main interest was diving and we booked with Blue Water Divers. The reef is just off the beach and a quick boat ride out. We were lucky to get in 5 excellent mornings of diving. The shop is convenient, the beach is steps away and we enjoyed our underwater time with Nick and King as dive masters. The reef was incredible and I actually felt the most relaxed I have ever felt diving. The fish seemed especially happy also. I will love going back soon. Thank you Henry and Kristen for running a first rate operation.

We cruised to Grand Turk Nov. 27, 2022. We didn't have much time in the port but Blue Water Divers did a great job of taking the worries away. I contacted them months ago and was supposed to go diving with them in October but hurricane damage to the port prevented us from doing so. We did not find out until just a few days before our scheduled stop. I contacted Kristen and she was very understanding, rescheduled us, and applied our deposit to the new date. The crew at the dive shop were great. They made us feel right at home and took us on 2 fantastic dives. We are new to diving (les than 20 dives) so their patience and confidence was a huge plus. We were able to see the Gorgonian Wall and the Approach Landing sites. It was better than we had imagined. The first dive at the Wall we had some curious sharks check us out. Then there was so much marine life and various types of coral and plants it was unbelievable. The reef is so full of life it is hard to take it all in. I cannot wait to go back and spend more time there. We will definitely be looking to BWD for that adventure.

Really loved my time with blue water divers. Kristen was super helpful getting everything set up and letting us know what to expect. I finished my open water certificate with Henry. He was super knowledgeable and really helped me understand what I was doing. He made sure that it was not only a learning experience, but that I also had fun and got to see a ton of marine life. King was great about making sure my equipment was dialed in and ready to go! Wouldn’t go to anyone else after diving with them!

I'm not sure how to spell his name, but Kendry, an island local and dive guide, was the friendliest young man and took us on a wonderful trip. From the "Anchor" to the "Great Wall" and everything in between, he gave us another unbelievable trip and memory. Thank you guys again for everything. When we come back next year, beers are on us. Have fun and do good!!!!! April Review: The best experience we have ever had as a family. This group made us feel at home from the first second. Everything great about the island is represented here. From the smiles to the clear blue water, this is the place to go. Our guide taught us a lot about the island and was an excellent help making our daughter feel comfortable in the water. We have already booked our next cruise for September and we will be back again for sure. Have fun and do good!!!!!!!
