Shevlin Park is a 652-acre natural preserve in Bend, offering a variety of outdoor activities. The park features extensive hiking and cross-country ski trails, as well as fishing and picnic sites. It is known for its beautiful forested areas with soaring Ponderosa pine trees, providing an oasis for runners and hikers. Visitors can enjoy the scenic BendTumalo Creek Trail (2.5 miles) and Loop Trail (6 miles), which are of moderate difficulty.
One of my favorite parks in Bend. It's so beautiful here, especially in the fall. So many great scenic trails to walk on. Dog friendly. Nice picnic areas too.
Paula O — Google review
I have loved this park and trails since I was a very young child. As a girl scout, we planted trees after the Aubrey Hall fire that threatened to burn down the city. Now I can see them still growing as a 45-year-old woman. The beautiful connection you feel in this park is hard to describe in words. But it is a piece of heaven we call Earth.
Sanya M — Google review
Shevlin park is somewhere we would visit every summer growing up when visiting family in the area. They have great trails, fishing, picnicking, and even slow spots where you can get in the water. Shevlin park has a teepee that you can check out and go inside of, they have more than one trail, good for bike riding, dog walking, fishing. I remember having picnics here as a kid and I still come back as an adult when in the area. They trails are low impact and fairly flat.

This is a gorgeous park, whether you're new to Bend and getting to know what Central Oregon is like, or even if you're a local who is familiar with the unique landscape. It's not too far from the city area itself and located in a wealthy part of town, but accessible to any person who wants to check out the nature. A good place to walk and observe the world around you, and especially beautiful in the autumn season, even though it can get quitw chilly. People like to take their dogs here, or even take pictures of the lovely landscape.
Angelyka C — Google review
Creekside Park is a peaceful and picturesque spot, perfect for a relaxing walk. The flat trails are easy to navigate and follow a quiet creek lined with trees. A charming bridge crosses the water, making a great place to pause and enjoy the view. Birdsong fills the air, with woodpeckers tapping in the trees and butterflies floating by. It’s a great place to unwind, watch wildlife, and enjoy a bit of calm.
Richard M — Google review
Went to beautiful Aspen Hall for a reception. Trees were all yellow for fall and the whole park was peaceful.

Riverbend Park is a popular community gathering place located along the Deschutes River in Bend. It offers a sandy beach, grassy lawns, and scenic trails for visitors to enjoy. The park hosts regular events and is an ideal spot for picnics, with cabin-style structures providing shade and ample picnic spots.
I was walking a virtual 5k so I wasn't having a great time but the place was super pretty and the trail was mostly flat. I'd come back here again. And it is a great place to do a 5k since the trail I took is just a little over 5k. I think I'd enjoy it more if I wasn't feeling like my legs were gonna fall off.

I loved this place so much. Was able to visit on my first day in Bend and the sun was out, people were out. Honestly so beautiful. I walked the trail along the riverside and almost cried because it was so calming. Just nature sounds and people casually chatting on their walks. Others were doing a variety of different water activities in the river itself.
Karina S — Google review
As tourist we wanted to do what the locals do and float on the river. BUT the water was freezing so we just walked around and took pix of the beautiful landscape. Very well maintained park and very dog friendly.
Jewelz G — Google review
So fun to float down the river! Get there early for good parking. Get a bus pass ($5) for an easy end of the float return!
Breanna P — Google review
We were there for the High Desert Art Festival and we had a nice time. It was pretty crowded and parking was a bit hard to find, we parked at the Old Mill and walked over. Lots of people tubing down the river.
Richard P — Google review
Best day to spend the last official day of summer on the river. Beautiful people. Lot of smiles. Great sunshine and the beagle like like being in the float with me. It was a great day
Bear A — Google review
We had a fun afternoon floating down the deschutes river. It took around 2 hours. It’s a local thing to do in Bend. For $18 per person you can rent an individual float tube. Starting June 22, the shuttle service will start, as floating down river is a 1-way trip from the old mill district to Drake park. You cross under 5 bridges & go through 1 area of small rapids. There are also kayaks for rent, but those can go fast in the summer without an advance reservation. We went a week ago on a warm day- the water was still ice-cold from the snow melt but still comfortable.
Mary H — Google review
Love this place! Park and Float for $4/Day! Rental tubes are available nearby or bring your own. Take out is 90ish minutes down River. $4 - Cash only Shuttle with trailer for tubes brings you back!

Very peaceful park on the river. Great place for the family. Plenty for the kids to do, as well as for the adults to see and take it. Beautiful place. Im getting to appreciate the beauty of Oregon as Ive only been here a few times.

First time in town and we absolutely loved it! 10/10! The people we talked too. The beautiful sunset. The wildlife and happiness of genuine human beings. I mean we have been to Ontario.... Which gives Oregon a horrible name! GIVE IT TO IDAHO ALREADY! This is the true beauty of Oregon! Thank you so much for preserving this!
Kydd K — Google review
We went on the trails....it was amazing! You will see so much wildlife on your walk. The people are very friendly and it is very safe. We saw some deer on our walk. If I lived closer I would be here everyday!
Troy M — Google review
Farewell Bend Park is a wonderful and beautiful park located in Bend Oregon along the banks of the Deschutes River. The park is constructed and designed perfectly with green spaces, playground equipment for children, paved walking paths and dirt paths, walking and biking bridges across the Deschutes River, and wetlands retained attracting local birds and wildlife. There are covered areas along the river, with sitting areas, benches along the way. This was our first visit, there was ample parking, people enjoying the park with children looking for birds and fish in the river, we pointed out baby ducks for them to see. There were people walking dogs, and playing fetch with a tennis ball. We were there about an hour and could have easily stayed the day. I've attached some pictures. If you find my review helpful please give me a thumbs-up 👍. Thank you!
Ric L — Google review
Awesome trail. Great views. Easy 1.33 mile loop. Great artwork. Clean restrooms and plenty picnic areas.
Lizzy C — Google review
Farewell Bend park is at the beginning of a trail along a awesome part of the Deschutes River trail. The park side of the river allows bikes the other side restricts the trail to walking/running. There is a bridge across the trail quite a way done that allows you to switch sides. Mountain bikes recommended.

This review is for the river float. This is our second time floating down the river as a group. It’s a lot of fun and relaxing. There is a little excitement when you reach the rapids. My tip is to lift your backside up as high as you can to minimize bumping on the rocks below going down the rapids.
Scott S — Google review
Beautiful park to walk around, enjoy the views of the mountains, the river, the plants/trees and the animals. it is close to the old mill district and there are a couple of bridges from were you can have great pictures of the river and town. there are some rentals to kayak or paddel, saw a lot of people having fun with their families and dogs! Great place in Bend that i recommend visiting.

Beautiful, clean, popular but not crowded. This is my favorite dog park. An incredible use of space!
JoAnna W — Google review
One of Bend's largest parks with a large dog park and Bend's center for all games 'pickleball'. My dogs love to play there.
Kelly S — Google review
Love the course, its one of my favorites in oregon. Beautiful views of the sisters. Great variety of holes to enjoy. I recommend going early before it heats up. Limited bathroom access while you play and the lava rock will chew up your disc's. Besides that, the course is excellent and i'd gladly chew up a few drivers to enjoy this course.
James L — Google review
Great park! Sports field, pickleball courts, disc golf course, beach volleyball, walking paths. Huge off leash, fenced dog area with a much smaller section for small dogs. The dog area has a mixture of both natural areas and a large grassy field. Quite a few benches, picnic tables, doggy bags, and garbage cans are scattered within the area. During the summer, the sprinklers go off on the grassy field and my pup loves it. Lots of parking available as well. Really love coming here!
Stephanie H — Google review
Fantastic park! Big dog park is enormous with varied terrain, lots of poop bag dispensers and trash cans, and plenty of water areas. Our husky mix was in heaven. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely huge Kind of busy but you never really see anybody because the place is so big. We were there on the weekend Saturday. We've seen lots of events going on like lacrosse. A few popup tents for vendors. But we were still able to have a quiet day of fishing. It's a very good place to go if you're trying to get your kids excited about outdoor activities

Larkspur Park is the perfect destination for a delightful family outing, offering a variety of activities to keep everyone entertained. You can stroll along the scenic Larkspur Trail or set up a cozy picnic under the covered shelter. For those looking to engage in some friendly competition, there are options like bocce, horseshoes, pickleball, and basketball available. Meanwhile, children will love exploring the Rotary Clubs Centennial Playground featuring an exciting rock wall.
Imagine walking into a beautiful playground surrounded by trees and plants, not a single piece of trash on the ground, and tables and benches everywhere for you to sit. Some tables are shaded by a shade shelter built over them. This park has 3 sections, so your child can play on the proper sized equipment for them, therefore decreasing the odds of injury. Plenty of swings and slides on all 3 structures, and lots of grass to run around in. There is also a basketball court and it has a nice sized parking lot. I would HIGHLY recommend this playground to anyone wanting to get out of the house.

Seems really relaxing and was a great place for baby shower! The traffic running along side the park was a little scary but the park did a pretty great job at secluding itself in. All in all it seems like a really nice park!

This is a great park! I took my grandkids there while we waited on their mom's medical appointment being done. They really enjoyed all the play options and I enjoyed a comfortable spot in the shade to watch them. It was clean and safe. While there, we learned about the free lunch offered to kids. That was a bonus experience. Larkspur Park is a beautiful place!

Nature & Parks
Tumalo State Park, nestled along the Deschutes River in central Oregon, offers a serene escape from city life while still being conveniently close to Bend. The park features hiking trails, a picnic area, and a popular swimming spot on the river. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy activities like fishing, mountain biking, and golfing at nearby courses. With its proximity to Mt. Bachelor and the Cascade Mountains, visitors have easy access to alpine lakes and scenic trails for exploration.
I visited Tumalo State Park for a day trip and really enjoyed the time there. The hike along the Deschutes River was peaceful and scenic, plenty of spots to pause and take in the views. The trail was well-maintained and easy to follow, making it perfect for a short, relaxing outdoor escape. It's a great spot if you're looking for a quick nature fix close to Bend.
C G — Google review
Tumalo State Park is undeniably beautiful, boasting stunning river views, rolling hills, and serene picnic spots that make it a nature lover’s paradise. However, the park’s popularity comes with a downside—it’s almost always overly crowded. Visitors often find that the charm of its natural beauty is tempered by the constant influx of people, especially on weekends and during peak seasons. If you’re planning a visit, consider going early in the morning or on a weekday to enjoy a more peaceful experience. Overall, while Tumalo State Park offers breathtaking scenery, the persistent crowds may require a bit of extra planning to fully appreciate its tranquil allure.
Tony G — Google review
I stopped by Tumalo on my way to Bend to hike on the Deschutes River and was not disappointed. The trail takes you along the river through a forest of Alder, Juniper, and Ponderosa Pine with open spaces. You will find a short paved section that becomes a rocky dirt trail for 1.4 miles to the Riley Ranch The trail has a viewpoint above the rapids on a long metal boardwalk with great views of the river. Riley Ranch has a number of loop trails if you want a longer hike. Located O.B. Riley Road, just off Hwy 97 about four miles north of Bend. The park has a day use fee of five dollars. A great place to camp, fish, kayak, have a picnic, and hike along the river.
Ed L — Google review

Lorena C — Google review
I’ve camped at this state park three times, and each time has been exceptionally fantastic. The first two times I camped in a travel trailer, with the last time being in a yurt. Whichever way you decide to camp, you likely will not be disappointed. It’s easy to tell at this campground that cleanliness is a top priority. The grounds are very clean and cleared of debris, as are the yurts. The washrooms and showers, the two parts of a campground that people normally dread going to, were next to spotless. Very impressed with this aspect of staying at this state park. Aside from the cleanliness, the geographical location of the park is also a major plus. The park is within 10-15 mins of most of downtown Bend. Other places to visit—such as Smith Rock State Park, the High Desert Museum, parts of Newberry National Volcanic Monument, Riley Ranch Nature Reserve, Tumalo Falls, and Shelvin Park are all within 30-45 mins of the campground. The geography of the park itself is very unique, with the Deschutes River flowing right through it underneath cliffs of ancient volcanic rock. The scenes are picturesque and I can say after my third visit to the park, they never get old. The day-use area, located right across road from the campground, has some fun activities to do. The Deschutes River provides swimming opportunities and people often bring their inner-tubes to float down the river to another spot in the day-use area. This part of the park does get extremely busy in the summer, however, so I recommend coming early in the day. The only downside comes from my most recent stay at the park—and it’s one that is out of anybody’s control—the noise from the highway. The campground is right next to a fairly busy road, and so loud cars at night can be heard every once in a while. In particular, during my most recent stay, some moron was doing donuts down on the road at 10:30pm, well after most people are trying to sleep. Unfortunately, the hosts said that this has become a near weekly occurrence. The noise bothers me, however not nearly as much as the safety of others being compromised. Overall, aside from this one unfortunate aspect, the camping experience here is sublime. I’ve made lots of great memories in the area and I hope to make many more down the road!

The other section extends from Farewell Bend Park to Riverbend Park, providing a delightful loop for hiking or biking amidst lush riparian landscapes.
Beautiful trails.. And it's semi hiking if you choose, or just a beautiful walk
Tracy M — Google review
Awesome sauce. Love this trail! So relaxing and nice to walk in nature. I highly recommend this to anyone
Shawn L — Google review
The Deschutes River trail is a very accessible 2.5 mile loop that starts from Farewell Bend Park. The park acts as a trailhead and has very limited parking so you may have to go to the other side where there is a larger parking lot. If you are lucky and get a space it is a beautiful Green Park with lots to do including a playground for kids and wonderful River access. The trail itself is multi-directional and is wide in most spaces. Conditioning required is limited with moderate hills and mostly flat trails. Many people utilize this trail for family walks or trail running. Dogs are welcomed the bikes are not. This is a purely pedestrian trail. Views are wonderful and it is a great way to enjoy some exercise. Essentially you hike a little bit over a mile into a bridge that loops you back the other way. Definitely a must-do. If you want to extend the walk / hike just continue through the park on the paved trails.

What a great trail right in the heart of Bend. You can walk across the river and around the city to walk as far as you want. The trail out into the woods and over the bridge is beautiful. Great place for your dog to hike and go into the water on warm days. We are here in October and the fall leaves were beautiful. We want to come back during the summer to tube and paddle board on the river. Bend has done a great job creating such a great community hub. Must visit if you are in Bend.
Lisa L — Google review
Awesome park. Lots of people walking the trail. Adults and children with their dogs. I saw a lot of kids walking with their teachers and watching nature. Lots of dogs. I loved walking right next to the river although I saw some bikers using another trail nearby. Beautiful trees and lots of birds.
Diana P — Google review
Always a favorite! This is a popular place: if you’re an extrovert, go on the weekend; if you’re an introvert, avoid the weekends. It’s a delightfully river-oriented trail with views much of the way. Some hills, lots of nice dirt underfoot with a few rocky spots, and lots of easy hiking overall. The Deschutes River is one of our prime gems of Central Oregon—don’t miss this trail for some easy exercise in beauty very close to downtown and the Old Mill.
Renge G — Google review
Went on a brisk walk after a fresh snowfall, mid-morning, and the sidewalk was already plowed! Thank you! Unlike Portland, we didn't see any trash or homeless camped there. Clean bathrooms too! Can't wait to come back in the summer to float!

Hollinshead Park, spanning 16.5 acres, is more than just open space; it was once a working ranch and still exudes pioneer charm. The park features original buildings, including the renovated Hollinshead Barn available for special events. It fosters a sense of community where locals and visitors alike form connections. The park offers an off-leash area for dogs and is known for its picturesque setting with picnic tables, benches, and ample shade from surrounding trees.
One of the best dog parks I've seen, lots of variety. Very friendly and well kept.

Lots of dogs off leash.. Though most all were behaved, one was jumping on us and ower thought a simple sorry was enough for their dogs poor behavior.

Our favorite in-town dog park. Lots of trees and grass. Your dog should be great on recall as it's an unfenced park. Good amount of parking if there's not an event at The Barn.
Cynthia F — Google review
This is our go-to dog park in town.Lots of grass and shady trees, which is great. Just a heads-up it’s not fenced, so your dog should come when called. Parking’s usually fine

Took my daughter's dog for first time and the dogs and owners that were there were all very nice and helpful. Pretty grounds, easy park, not too many people.

Best dog park in Bend. Beautiful trees and grass. A very happy place. If you are mean and like to yell or hit your dog you should go somewhere else. Like to a therapist.

This park has an off leash dog park and I just love taking my pup here. We watch all the big dogs run around and mingle. I am in love with the barn and the co-op garden. It is worth the visit indeed!

Water park
Bend Whitewater Park is an exciting destination for water enthusiasts, offering three different channels with varying rapid levels for tubing, surfing, and kayaking. The park provides a thrilling experience as surfers in wetsuits take turns riding the waves on the river. Visitors can also enjoy a calm, flatwater float and paddle southeast on the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway to Todd Lake.
Great fun on the river - third time here and always great fun. Put in at Riverbend Park - either bring your own tube or paddleboard or rent a tube there. There is a shuttle back from Drake Park ($5). Float leisurely down the river — have fun bouncing down the several rapids or simply step out and walk around and reenter the river. Highly recommend.
Matt C — Google review
First time to the Whitewater park. All I had was my white water paddle board, dry suit, helmet, and PFD. The water parks highlights include a very surfable river wave. I tried to surf it twice with my board and it barely worked. I think it’s better suited for dedicated small river, surfing boards. The wiggles were very accommodating and helpful. I also tried the Whitewater sections of the park. The other waves were difficult to surf on with the board and seemed more suited for a kayak. The inner tube section was runnable with my white water paddle board, but the ledges are very shallow, and the board would drag on each wedge. There’s a large flat water area below the rapids with limited flow as well as a large area above the rapids near the Hayden home amphitheater where people can paddle on flat water with minimal flow. I think it is an excellent addition and wish it existed in my current city. I think as far as a destination Unless you’re coming from someplace without any water access, you might be slightly disappointed. I think it is a great place to go river surfing if you were into river surfing or want to learn to river surf. I think for the local Whitewater community there, it is a great place to practice a few things with kayaks. For the general public, who wants to just go paddle boarding or swimming or tubing it is also a very fun addition. We got there early in the day on Friday and there was plenty of parking. By the end of the day, there was no parking available.

Oh man!! This place is a blast! It’s midway between Riverbend and Drake parks for the Bend float Good parking here Sometimes has food trucks The rapids are amazing! Easy and large for different skill levels

Best location of water floating. Kids go over and over repeatedly this part of river. Sometimes the current get kind of funny and kids get stuck here. It is also very funny lot of kids use their slippery as paddle. Bring a mini paddle will definitely help

Nestled in the heart of Bend, Harmon Park is a delightful 13-acre oasis that invites visitors to enjoy scenic walks along Mirror Pond. This park is not just about its picturesque views; it also serves as a vibrant community hub, hosting various celebrations throughout the year. Families will appreciate the unique boat structure at its center, which doubles as both a play area and gathering spot for kids and parents alike. The lush green grass and well-maintained barkdust create an inviting atmosphere for outdoor activities.
Excellent park in the heart of Bend, close to Mirror Pond. Barkdust was fresh and clean. Grass was lush and green. Mostly modern park equipment in good shape. The Harmon tug boat is very unique and a custom piece that the kids will love. TWO stories of tug boat!! Bathrooms are a short walk from the play structures. Bathrooms are in a separate building and are clean although there's a honey bucket on the baseball/soccer side of the park that was quite full. Kids loved it. Nice shade from adjacent trees for snacks or parents to relax.

Super cute small park for small kids. There is a fence between the park and the water. The boat has a lot of wear but gives it character! Locals who visit are friendly too.
Karen L — Google review
A nice park. The placement of the softball field is not conducive to the teams playing or the people watching. The sun goes down right in the eyes of the players and the evening winds blow from the river towards the crowds faces which make it difficult to block as much as you could if the fields were turned around. This would be a good pruner to update the park. They do have a nice play area for the kids and grass area to play games in.

Super fun park. The boat structure is by far the best element of the park.

It’s huge. Properly fenced, too. Unless your dog likes to jump fences, you should be good to go. Really dusty, though. The grassed area was closed for re-seeding. Would have loved to been able to use it.

A lot of room for dogs to roam. Two separate fenced areas with shade and picnic tables. Water for dogs, bags for poop (however there was a lot of poop on the ground left by some). I especially liked that the canal runs nearby for dogs to take a dip or drink. Parking is close by.
Karen M — Google review
It is as it's said: huge fenced areas for dogs to run, trees, bushes, a flowing canal for the dogs to cool off in and drink from, ample clean drinking water otherwise, clean bathrooms, dog-poop bags available, paved skate/bike areas, several large grass soccer/baseball fields all very well maintained....very nice park for families and pets.

This iconic landmark features a winding hiking trail that leads to stunning 360-degree views of the surrounding area, including the majestic Cascade Range and expansive high desert landscapes. While you could opt for a drive, nothing compares to the experience of hiking this prominent butte, which is visible from nearly every corner of Bend.
Looking for an outdoor activity for all with great views? Hike or drive to the top for incredible views of Bend & Beyond!
Chris A — Google review
Very sad you guys don't have the funds to line the trails with other than with cut down trees that create a fire hazard. The stairs u put in even have rebar showing by the school. Trails are very narrow not a lot of room for passing. How far is it around the butt and only one bathroom unless you climb to the top.
Adam N — Google review
The butte itself was a cool experience to drive up since it was a constant curve that circles its way to the top of the hill. The lookout is cool from the top but there is nothing else there to see besides check out the view of bend and take a couple of pictures.
Joe D — Google review
Great view of the entire area, only downside I think is the hikers should have their own trail or a wider trail so it's safer for people/cars
Shane N — Google review
Took a drive up with the fam visiting Bend. Such a beautiful 360 overlook and a must for newcomers to the area. You can also go up as many of the locals do…walk!
Matthew P — Google review
Walking shoulder and driving lane to the top. Great views. Emergency restroom. Benches.
Clay M — Google review
A pretty nice lookout point at the top. A decently sized path up but I'm sure some would argue it is narrow. Parking is a hit or miss depending on the time as it gets busy later in the day when the sun is setting. The air quality being ok in Bend really kills the view since you can't see the mountains clearly and only make out the outlines.
William M — Google review
Pilot Butte is an absolute must-visit landmark in Bend, offering one of the best "big payoff for little effort" experiences in Central Oregon. This extinct cinder cone volcano, located right within the city limits, provides unparalleled 360-degree panoramic views of the region. The main draw is the breathtaking vista of the Cascade Mountain Range, including clear sightlines to the Three Sisters, Mount Bachelor, and Mount Hood on a clear day. Looking east, you see the vast high desert, and below, the entire city of Bend sprawls out. Getting to the top is flexible: you can drive the paved, seasonal road (closed in winter) or hike one of the trails. The hike is short—about a mile one-way—but quite steep, providing an excellent, quick workout. The summit features informative plaques to identify the surrounding peaks. The atmosphere at sunset is legendary, with the city lights twinkling below and the Cascade peaks glowing, though it can get very crowded. Whether you hike up to "earn your view" or drive for accessibility, Pilot Butte is a quintessential Bend experience and a perfect spot to appreciate the scale of Oregon's high desert landscape.

Drake Park, a 13-acre oasis named after Bend's founder, Alexander Drake, is a picturesque retreat offering a serene pond, charming picnic tables, and an outdoor stage. Nestled in the northern curve of its namesake neighborhood and bordered by the tranquil Mirror Pond, this enchanting park bursts with vibrant fall colors. Renovated in 2003, it provides a perfect setting for leisurely walks or moments of peaceful contemplation by the river.
I love Drake Park! Adjacent to downtown Bend, it offers peaceful walking trails, beautiful views and plenty of wildlife. You might see people floating the Deschutes River where Drake Park is the end point of the float. The park also hosts seasonal celebrations. Continue your walk down Galveston and hit more pubs and great restaurants. Awesome vibe!

We enjoyed our stop in Bend Oregon for the night. Great bars and restaurants. We also found Drake Park, which is a great place to walk along the river. But we also found that they hold free concerts every Thursday in July called Munch and Music. It's a family-friendly event with many events, booths, and food. We had a great time and enjoyed the band.

Drake Park has a lovely walking trail as well as water access, restrooms, picnic tables and large grassy areas. There is alot of street parking (4 hour max). There were people floating on paddle boards, there could be some good fishing within as well as alot of crayfish. There are beautiful homes along the waterfront as well as some resturants and downtown access from the parkway.

I really enjoy thos park, its big and it clean and somethings appears to be happening every weekend if not every day throughout this summer. My first time in 2 years going to listen to music in the park it was amazing They have clean bathrooms, bridges to take pictures, places to swim on the beaches of the river. Nice open grass space to have a picnic, do. Tightrope, walking yoga, seeing me, take a nap, sit in the hammock. People watch, its in the center of everything so if you forget it not a long walk to pick up whatever you left. I like walking the path along the river in Drake park, I just really like that park, it creates joy for me. Its a nice place to mayne push someone in a wheele chair and share the space. Music in the park will forever be special to me, It a space I feel free to be me respectfully while honoring others who share the park space with me.

Families can enjoy miles of well-marked hiking trails with paved stretches for easy trekking.
Had so much fun exploring such a beautiful and well-cared for nature reserve!!! I am not super in-shape (unless round is a shape!) And I was easily able to access the paths and trails. Not too difficult, and very beautiful!!
Lora R — Google review
First of all, it’s important to mention that this is a location where dogs are not allowed. So I took them for a walk around the park and nearby roads, then had them stay briefly in the car while I hurried to walk half of the shortest Juniper Loop Trail. The open space brought a sense of refreshment, and the well-maintained paths looked great, though it was a bit disappointing that I couldn’t be there with the dogs. Therefore, I returned to Sawyer Park to walk along the fishing trail with them.

While visiting Bend Oregon, we found Riley Ranch Nature Preserve, as a place to hike. It is a nice reserve, with graveled walking trails, for the main portion of trails, otherwise it's dirt. We stuck to the easier loops, and found them to be easy to navigate for all types of hikers. No steep slopes, mostly flat gravel trail. Small amount of gentle elevation changes. The area has a sign indicating the history, which I found interesting. As well as a map with distances for the loops. Well maintained and clean. Has one pit toilet at the parking area. No drinking water.
Chris E — Google review
Well maintained, gravel trail. It's mostly flat and easy, so it's great for families. Walk a few minutes or a few hours! It even connects to Tumalo Park! No dogs allowed, because it's a sanctuary. Beautiful setting, and great view of Mt. Bachelor.

Had a great and easy stroll through the Sage and juniper loops with our 15month old. The trail is well maintained and other hikers/runners are very respectful and quiet (except for this one guy who brought his dog who clearly needed to relieve itself all over the trail literally right next to the sign that says, “no dogs allowed.” 🙄 Saw deer, rushing river, and heard coyotes in the distance. We all made it out with big smiles on our faces!

Nestled alongside the river and adjacent to River Bend Park, Riverbend Dog Park spans 1.1 acres of fully-fenced gravel terrain, making it a unique spot for your furry friend to roam free. This park features a small fenced area that gently slopes into the water, allowing dogs to splash around safely.
Riverbend Dog Park is a fantastic spot for both dogs and their owners. The park is situated along a scenic river with a serene and peaceful environment, perfect for a walk or letting your furry friends roam and play. The enclosed area provides a safe space for off-leash fun, and the natural setting of trees, leaves, and open ground makes it an enjoyable experience for dogs to explore. The park has plenty of space, which helps prevent overcrowding, and it’s a great place to meet other dog lovers. During my visit, the sunset over the river added to the picturesque atmosphere, making it a delightful outing. The fencing around the park is well-maintained, ensuring your dogs are secure while enjoying their freedom. One small improvement could be the addition of more seating areas for dog owners and perhaps better lighting for those visiting during early mornings or late evenings. Overall, Riverbend Dog Park is a highly recommended spot for dog owners in the area, offering a mix of natural beauty and fun for your four-legged companions.
Daveed T — Google review
The dog park is not noted on the street sign but it's there. Two fenced parts. The larger and closer was almost completely devoid of anything green; it's all dirt and piles of rocks people have tossed together. There is a bench and a water spigot with a bowl. Across a walking path there is a second section including some river waterfront. The shore is rock rip-rap for a beach. My dog is older and not brave but she found one spot where she was able to ease herself in and have a quick paddle. The park was busy each time we visited. We only met reasonably behaved dogs. A utilitarian location if not beautiful.
Bruce C — Google review
What a great find. The pups loved jumping into the river to cool off. Be careful as you maneuver on the large boulders that bank the rivers edge. This is also a great spot for you to get in the water and take a dip of your own. There's definitely some current, so this isn't the swimming hole for kids. Though it's a great spot for Fido and you to cool down and play a little fetch with your water hound.
Brandon H — Google review
Great dog park, a few spots your dog can run free down by the river or on the river, a trail along the side of the river if you decide your done standing around watching your dog play. The pictures are of the trail that runs along the dog park & river. It's a loop as well. It's a dog park...
Loree G — Google review
This is a different kind of park. Better than some, but not as good as our usuals . Lots of poop laying around, which is to me, a reflection of the visitors. That’s unfortunate. I walked around the whole time picking up people trash and a ton of poop. Mae had fun, sniffing everything in the big dog park, so it was a success. It’s wide open, no cover or big trees, grass, or watering holes. There is a little dog park, but it was mid morning and no one was using it.
Misty D — Google review
Thee running area is large and great with poo bags available if needed. The river access area is latge and rocky which doesn't work for all dogs. despite a sign saying no launching, I've seem people launch their paddle boards here everyday I've come here.
Hydra B — Google review
Wonderful spot to stretch Spot’s legs plus a wonderful swimming hole for the pups.
Lori N — Google review
Almost entirely dirt/pebbles/mini wood chips. Not a bad thing in my opinion, just prepare for a dusty pup afterwards! Also means less chance of ticks so that’s a win in my book. Fairly large area to run, a couple benches (one or two by a tree so if you get there at the right time you’ll catch the shade) and a picnic table. Just outside the gated area is a beach with plenty of people floating down the river In tubes and kayaks. Large fairly well maintained gravel parking lot that is shared with beach go-ers. There is also a designated dog beach area - Far more dogs in the water area than the gated dirt area. Only reason I didn’t give this five stars is because the lack of shade.

Pioneer Park is a serene riverfront park located near Drake Park in Bend. It is one of the city's oldest parks and offers a covered group picnic area, formal rose garden, open lawn, and riverfront woods. The park is popular for weddings and provides a touch of history along with outdoor adventure. Situated along the Deschutes River, it features playgrounds, splash pads, scenic walking trails, making it an ideal location for family bonding.
this location ended up being a great spot for an event I was a part of. Pioneer Park had plenty of room for the size of meeting that we needed. It was a neat setting and we were able to decorate in an easy way. The park was definitely clean. Although there was a couple issueswith a few lamps. The grass hill on the other side of the parking lot was a great place to hang out in the river is flowing slowly in that area so we did not have to worry as much about the children, but we definitely kept them close if they wanted to get near the water.

The park was across the street I was staying at and decided to check it out. It has a scenic walkway next to the river. I enjoyed a nice peaceful afternoon stroll.

Great relaxing park with great river view! Walked down the path to find people enjoying the water swimming. It was a beautiful park.

Booked this place last minute. The unit was recently renovated and it was very well done. Full kitchen with all the appliances and kitchen stuff. Close to everything and right next to the river walk. But the walls are so thin, you can hear the guy above you changing his mind. No big deal if you’re a heavy sleeper.

Beautiful park, restrooms, room for fishing down stream a little ways if you follow the path toward the walking bridge. Plenty of benches to sit at and watch nature. Great spot to walk the dogs!

Very pretty park right on the Deschutes River. The grass is so thick and full and green and perfect it looks fake. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because they don’t have a playground for littles and my lazy behind has to walk farther to take my nephew to a park when he wants to play. It’s a gorgeous park to bring a blanket and read a book or have a picnic, make grass angels in the perfect green grass, maybe not, it’s kind of soggy in a couple spots. Still perfect green with big shady trees.

Beautiful park with lots of shade and gorgeous views of the river and a nice path to walk along. There are flower gardens with benches to relax and enjoy the day. We were able to play frisbee in the large grassy areas. Great place to picnic as well.

I always enjoy coming here, it's away from the crowds that we get during the summer and all in all it's just a great place to be. I will be there every day this summer snorkeling and finding what is on the bottom.

Bend Oregon has spectacular parks, but this is one of my favorites. There's a long walk along the river with a lot of places to get your feet wet. There are covered tables and bathrooms as well. Everything's always maintained really well. The logs are fun to climb on.

Miller's Landing Park is a delightful waterside destination that offers visitors a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Nestled alongside the river, this park features lush grassy areas ideal for picnics, complete with a covered pavilion for those sunny days. It's an excellent spot to set up your blanket and enjoy the lively atmosphere of the nearby Whitewater Park, where you can watch thrill-seekers tackle rapids.
We're mapping clean restrooms in Central Oregon. This location totally passed the inspection. So much to offer and it's accessible friendly with up front parking. Love the water proximity, shelters, tables and the easy in access. Good job Bend Parks and Rec!

Even from this side of the park you can see the surfers, and a view of the rapids, but what makes this side stand out is the canopy tall birds nest, and new river features(plus the sidewalk goes to a bridge that gives access to the water park)... The recent river access updates in this park are stellar! They added six or eight rocks in the depths of the river, expanded the access points with incredible handicapped access ramps that appear as sidewalks going right into the river, and even a ramp for kayaks or boats to be pulled in and out on. They even yanked that tree that was stuck on the rock. The bathrooms are usually clean, and well kept. The view of the Ospreys is incredible, as you'll hear the young ones chattering before they get your attention. The parking is decent, and there's a sidewalk that goes over to the whitewater park, where you can see the surfers on the wave.

Miller's Landing was super busy when we went by. Quite alot of people enjoying the river and the grassy areas. We walked the trail up and over the bridge and down the other side of the park. They were hosting a river surfing competition on the rapids along with some vendors and food trucks on that side of the park. There was a live band performing in the park along side the food truck and the vendors. It was nice to be able to listen to the music while walking the river trail. The park is well maintained and well loved as quite alot of people were in the park when we visited. Beautiful park and a nice trail.

I love this place where it gave us direction to we found a very nice place to walk into the water. The first area was perfect for toddlers as it was very shallow and had an area perfect to wade in without having to worry about getting caught downstream.:) we enjoyed watching all the kayaks and paddle boarders. Wish we had brought our floaties . Will say though if you find yourself with out here your able to roll up you jeans and get a little wet. Will be going again tomorrow with our inner tubes.

Great park, but had an extremely unpleasant run in with someone with an off leash dog. Was loudly told that this was “her neighborhood park, and everyone knows dogs are off leash here” after asking her to leash her dog. She continued by asking me “If I even lived here. One of my favorite camping spots I’ve ever been to. Very beautiful area, sunny every day, only cold during nighttime in fall, beautiful walking trails, lots of camp spots. You can access spots in a big rig or low clearance van near the entrance, but you will need higher clearance to go down a lot of the other dirt roads due to rocks and tree roots. But there’s a spot for any vehicle and it’s not crowded during fall so there’s plenty to choose from. Highly recommend checking this place out for dispersed camping.

Amazing place, great trails. Just keep in mind there are no restrooms, no water, so bring your own h20 and a lot because you'll want to keep exploring

Quiet except for the traffic down the main road. Lots of the same cars going back and forth all week all hours. I had to wonder if this was drug smuggling area. One "night" (11pm) a truck was very close to me on the main road, sat there for at least 30 minutes with it's bright lights focused on my rig. Scary but I stayed alert.

Beautiful, underrated landscape. The landscape/vegetation can get monotonous… sagebrush, juniper trees, lava rock… over and over for as far as the eye can see… but the vast sameness is actually part of what makes it interesting. There is a cool dry riverbed that breaks up the sameness. There is also a deep dry gorge 3mi long that I haven’t gotten a chance to hike through. I think it is closed for a large portion of the year.
Hilary N — Google review
It cracks me up how many states have locations within them called the Badlands. Everyone wants a place on the map that sounds like a movie was filmed there. That being said, this is a simple to find, ease at parking, flat trailed hiking area in the Oregon high desert. When you live in Oregon, chances are you live west of the Cascade range, so you get real tired of seeing nothing but dense green trees. Amazing to visitors, but monotonous to people residing here. So heading east of the Cascade range, it is a new unique perspective to see desert land, and then realizing about 2/3rs of the state is actually desert in itself. There are multiple trails, and unlike some comments, we found it pretty well marked. Elevation change is negligible, but you are at about 3500 feet. If you come from sea level this will feel a bit different. Numerous old junipers and rock formations make for a nice change of scenery. Take water and a compass; you shouldn't find it difficult to find your way back even if you get off on the wrong trail.
Derek S — Google review
We took a backpacking trip on the Badlands Rock trail, and camped at the base of Badlands Rock. We then took a day hike the next day over to Castle Rock along the Castle Trail and played for several hours in the nooks and crannies of the "Castle" and its "moat". Later that day, after coming back to camp, we climbed all over Badlands Rock and got some impressive photos. Luckily the sun came out for us and we had a beautiful sunset to end the day. Our only complaints were the lack of water (have to backpack your own water in) and the low temps which left us with ice on our tents in the morning. But then the sun came out on the hike out and we got very hot. I can imagine this place is true to its name during the hottest months. It's covered in a thick layer of volcanic ash from the eruption of Mt Mazama, which created Crater Lake. I heard that it gets super dusty during the hot months, but we had luckily had some rain recently so the ash was squishy and easy to walk on, without getting dust in our orifices. I would come back here again, maybe staying at Flatiron Rock the next time. I wouldn't want to do it during the rain, the snow, or the full heat, but I'm sure there is a late Winter or an early Spring time which is perfect.
Brett A — Google review
A interesting place to experience the high desert with juniper trees, sagebrush and volcanic formations from ancient lava flows. I started my hike on the Homestead Trail to Flatiron Rock on a cool morning. The trail was flat with sandy soil and took me through a harsh landscape with shrubs, sagebrush, small flowers and juniper trees. The landscape became more rocky as I connected to the Flatiron trail. Flatiron Rock is a cracked pressure ridge that was formed during an eruption of the Newberry Volcano. You can turnaround at this point or continue hiking toward Badlands Rock. I did hike toward Castle Rock for a short distance and started back to the trailhead as it started to get really hot. Located about 17 miles from Bend on Hwy 20. The Oregon Badlands may not be for everybody, but it is a good opportunity to hike through old juniper trees and volcanic formations from ancient lava flows.

Absolutely love this. 30 min drive from Bend, outdoor fireplaces, warm bathroom, mini lodge with wood burning fireplace, bring your own wood. The sledding area is steep enough to have a blast but not so steep kids get hurt. One side has Moguls which act as jump for sleds. Other side has non. Perfect sledding area for while family. We will be back for sure. This area was clean, plenty of room for a snack.

Great place for a variety of family and solo activities. We came here in January during heavy blizzard conditions, but no regrets. One part of the family did snowmobiling, others did sledding, kids built snow castles and others enjoyed cross-country skiing. When you come from the highway to the sno-park, to the right you will find snowmobile parking lot and trails as well as an absolutely wonderful warming shelter hut with a wood fire stove and picnic tables where you can have lunch and dry your gloves. To the left there will be a dedicated parking for those interested in cross-country, snow shoeing, hiking and sledding from an impressive high hill. Both parking lots are equipped with bathrooms, well maintained, snow regularly plowed.

We visited here on a Friday and Saturday at the end of January 2021. We took our three kids (ages 10, 7, and 5). We all had a blast and sledded for several hours each day. Friday crowds weren't bad, but Saturday was quite crowded and we almost couldn't find a place to park. The hill is nice and steep, so sleds and tubes of all types worked well on the slope. Lots of moguls when we wnet. Also, bring your own TP if you plan to use the bathrooms - they were completely out on both days! Don't forget to purchase a Sno Park parking pass at a local business before you go!

The park is an easy hike for beginners and locals enjoy hiking and trekking here. There are also fun displays at the friendly visitors area 4,140 feet up. Bring water and sunscreen in the summer and a heavy coat in January when bike trails are not allowed.
This is one of the most amazing sites in all of Oregon and especially in Penn. You get such a central view of almost all of the mountain ranges that you can find in Oregon. The sites are breathtaking. The digital pictures you'll see here do not do it. Justice the fact that this is also 100% accessible through a vehicle and also has a ramp for wheelchair access to the actual top of the hill makes this accessible for all people. I cannot recommend this place more highly and it is a must visit place upon your visit in bend. This was my third time going to bend and I have never seen this play suggested. I've driven past it but never visited because I thought it was only accessible for hiking. Once I actually looked it up and found out that it was accessible for a vehicle and the fact that I had a newborn as well as two senior citizens who are handicapped with me. I knew that I had to go ahead and find out for myself again. I regret not visiting it before. This should be on every single must see place in bend and for any native Oregonian who visits. Ben if you haven't been here, you are truly missing out.

Less than a mile hike up to the top for beautiful views. There is also a road that you can drive up there.
Susan Y — Google review
Located in the center of Bend and boating 360-degree views of the surrounding mountain ranges and buttes, Pilot Butte is a popular yet easily accessible and surprisingly comfortable hike. The trail is wide enough to accommodate two-way traffic. People who prefer less texture under foot can walk up the road portion instead, although during peak season, hikers should stay aware of cars coming and going up and down the butte. The compass at the top helps visitors identify surrounding points of interest and signage describes the local fauna, flora, and native animal populations. Take a break at one of the benches set along the trail and enjoy the vista. The top is a nice place to take in the sights, practice a little yoga practice, or picnic (BYO chair/blanket). At the bottom of the butte is a lovely green area.

Great park, certainly more child safe than most parks in bend these days. On occasion you'll have a random adult on their bike ride through usually smoking cigarettes, brown bagging it or smoking weed or vaping which obviously is not kid safe but it happens rather rarely at this park. Cops tend to patrol more regulalry around here. Dont usually see many inapropriatley dressed adults, thankfully it seems people on this side of town understand that its inapropriat to dress in mini mini skirts, tik tok leggings, low cut tube tops and then prance around infront of small children unlike drake park where you can witness a drug fueled soft core porn on a slack line.

It's a fun little park, I would give it 5 stars but there isn't many places to sit in the shade that allows you to keep an eye on your kids, most places are out in the sun. Otherwise it was nice.

Providence Park is a delightful outdoor space catered to children, conveniently nestled within a residential area. This charming park offers an ample open field that was highly enjoyed by kids. In addition, it provides a pleasant environment for both dogs and children, with added amenities such as basketball courts for recreational activities.
My dog's favorite park! We go a few times a week and it's always a good experience. The people I meet are always friendly and it's a good place to bring your kids to play in the playground area. My nieces and nephew love when I take them.

Was just looking for a park nearby to stretch my pups' legs after chilling in the back of an Impreza hailing from Texas for so long. After all the massive parks I've seen whilst driving around Bend, saw this lil thing and thought, eh, it'll do. But there is a cute lil trail around the edge of the park that's PERFECT for my G'pa pup, and PLENTY of sniffs for my over-stimulated GSP. It was lovely, too, to see a neighbor come thru and pick up the trash that MF'rs couldn't toss in the trash just a few yards away, as other neighbors came thru and walked their pups. All in All, it's the perfect serene, 'take pride in your neighborhood' Park
BethAnne — Google review
This is a lovely quiet little park in NE Bend. It is nestled in a nice neighborhood. The park is 75% surrounded by four to right foot tall fencing made from cedar or similar material. The other 25% borders Providence DR. This freshly paved road does not receive a high volume of traffic and the 25 mph speed limits give pedesteians plenty of time to see any vehicle heading their way. There is a childrens' play structure, monkey bars that include horizontal and vertical bars designed to provide a variety of exercises including g 4 pull up bars set at 2 heights, as well as, 2 sides of the structure have been fashioned into fire and poles. There is also a climbing wall, swings, and the rocking toys that sit atop heavy gaged coiled springs. For those older than the age of 12, the park has a paved basketball hoop area as well as handful of benches and tables. The only drawback that I see here is the lack of a true restroom to replace the portable toilet that is currently being used. I still love this park though.
Jonathan W — Google review

Overturf Park offers a fantastic dog park that is fully enclosed and can be accessed through the nearby children's playground. Additionally, there is a water station available for your convenience. The paths throughout the park are all made of dirt, so make sure to choose appropriate footwear.
Great dog park! About a 5 min uphill walk from the kids play area. Large fenced in area with lots of pines for dogs to run around in, and dirt walking trails throughout. They also have water for dogs on the uphill side.
Andrew W — Google review
Went for the dog park and found myself climbing a very steep slope to get to a locked off gate. More of a locals walk to dig park than a drive to visit park. My dogs did love splashing in the water spout created puddle once we finally got to the off leash area though!
Hannah B — Google review
Nice neighborhood park and dog park. We’ve been using the dog park. It would be nice if the lower entrance gate was opened. I’m not sure why it’s kept locked.
Carol — Google review
Great fully fenced dog park just up the trail from the kids playground. A little bit of an uphill trek to the dog park if you enter near the playground. Dog park has lots of space to roam around through the pines. There’s also a water station on one side of the dog park. Paths through it all all dirt, plan your shoes accordingly 🤣🐾

Situated in a calm neighborhood with plenty of families and kids, Stover Park is the perfect destination for an enjoyable outdoor adventure.
It’s close to a road, but at least it’s a side road. The leaves were so much fun and made the playground so beautiful. We plied leaves on the slides and even had a leaf fight. Also lots of friendly people and their dogs walking by. My kids love dogs.

Beautiful neighborhood park! Away from busy roads, lovely shade from mature trees, and a big field to run in! Only downside is the metal slides, so if it is very hot out you have to wait until the slides are in shade for a while to play on them.

Pretty spot for contemplation. Not a typical Bend riverfront "park", just one bench above the river and a small, no-water-access railed dock. No grass. Only three parking places. Very limited water access & difficult, rock launch for SUP or kayak. Immediately above irrigation diversion dam with current, so not advised for rookie or inexperienced boaters.
C.C. W — Google review
Not a park! If you look at the imagery, you will see it is actually a condo community. Maybe it used to be a park, but it definitely is not a park now. Don’t waste your time walking all the way here from Pioneer Park (which is actually a park!)

It has wide open spaces and a covered picnic area which makes it great for younger toddlers, but older toddlers and children will also love it. Great park! Well kept playground! Large grass area. Covered pavilion with plenty of picnic tables and benches to sit at. Bucket swings for littles and regulars for the big kiddos. Street parking which can be difficult since it’s in neighborhood but overall I’d recommend! No one there we we visited! 3 different slides on playground and small rock wall.

Lovely little neighborhood park. Unfortunately there's lots of unsupervised children in the area that tend to tease and bully toddlers. The park is basically the back yard of several upper middle class homes. It's 2 blocks from our home but somehow a world away. With that comes a kind of territorial and uninviting ambience. I've had to get both my young children home early due to the treatment they received. Not a parent or guardian in sight. During school hours it's actually a very nice place to take your kiddos though.

Brooks Park is a small but fantastic park located along the west banks of Mirror Pond in Bend. It's a great spot to have lunch, sunbathe, or launch personal watercraft to explore the river. The park features a little dock for paddleboarding or kayaking, although it can be affected by goose and duck poop. Despite this, it's an underused gem that offers a more secluded experience compared to other parks in the area.
Nice gesture by Bend for vets. Would like to spruce up a little and add new items, especially Rose bushes.

BEND, what a lovely town. We visited to see one of our favorite artists play at the Tower Theater, what a joy it was. We found Bend very walkable, with lovely parks and numerous choices of restaurants / bars. WHAT FUN! It was an eight hour drive from Bellingham, Washington but worth every minute. Do yourself a favor and visit Bend, at least once!

Brooks park is Amazing! It’s small but it’s location along the west banks of the centerpiece of Bend; Mirror Pond. This is a perfect place to enjoy lunch, sunbathe, or launch some personal watercraft to explore the river above the park. Immediately downriver from the park is a bridge and a spillway that splits the accessibility while on the water. AN UNDERUSED AND OVERLY FANTASTIC PLACE!!! MUST SEE!!!!

Has a little dock where you can put in your paddleboard/kayak what have you. Often lots and LOTSS of goose/duck poop. If you're brave with the poop ocean, you can float the river all the way down to here and not be getting out with the crowds at the other park. But be warned the poop swamp.

Sun Meadow Park offers contrasting experiences, with its atmosphere alternating between a cheerful sunny meadow and a melancholic, gloomy place. It used to be frequented by the beloved friend Carbusha (RIP), making it somewhat sentimental. Nonetheless, it serves as a pleasant spot for socializing or going on dates. However, caution is advised when visiting the north corner of the park; details are withheld but prudence is recommended.

On its own it doesn't have a whole lot but because it's next to jewel elementary, if school isn't in then you can take the kids to the park there which includes baseball, basketball, a very large field, wall ball, and a great play structure. They even have a little rock climbing wall for the kids and the play area is fenced off woth only one entrance so you dont have to worry to much about your child running off. There also a shaded structure with picnic tables and drinking fountains.

Great little park that abuts Jewell Elementary School. There is a little covered area and play yard that is fenced with only one exist. Great place for younger kids. Everyone that came around was friendly and nice in this small neighborhood park.
Matthew K — Google review
Not a playground for little (2-5) kids. Horribly small playground for kids older than that. Needs a total overhaul for the neighborhood. Very disappointing. We walk much further to go to Foxborough park

Calm pleasant park. Nice to be next to Jewel Elementary school brings back memories of when there wasnt anything but sand around it then watching it slowly grow into this park and neighborhood..

Foxborough Park is a delightful neighborhood gem that offers a perfect blend of fun and relaxation for families. With its spacious grassy areas, it’s an ideal spot for kids to run around or play tag while parents keep an eye on them from nearby picnic benches shaded by trees. The park features a well-equipped playground complete with swings, slides, and climbing structures that are sure to entertain children of all ages. Dog owners will appreciate the ample space available for playing fetch or enjoying leisurely strolls along the perimeter.
Nice little park teaming with Jr highers playing tag on the play area forcing you to watch and call out to your little one as he just missed getting trampled by a rushing pre-teen. Other than that, it's got a great area to play fetch with the dog and let the kids ride around the perimeter.

Cute park, picnic table for dining, large grassy area, playground, and restroom. Bags are provided to clean up after dogs but apparently many do not.
Kendi O — Google review
Nice park in a neighborhood. Swings and a large play structure. Plenty of grass and open areas to run around. My kiddo loves it!
Tyler H — Google review
Nice park with picnic benches under trees, large open grass area and bark floor play area, with swings, slides and climbing. Occasionally get to see a train go by too.
J B — Google review
My daughter and I walk here all the time. Great little park, not very busy. You can see the train go by often
Austin J — Google review
Awesome park! Great play area for kids and a big turf for dogs to play or to picnic! Walking distance from the Old Mill too!

First time visiting and very impressed with how dog friendly this resort is! Overnighting in the RV lot and met many friendly dogs and people all out to enjoy some winter adventures!
T.D. W — Google review
Nice to walked around and seeing some dogs playing with their friends
Cen C — Google review
A great place for your buddy to find new friends or just play in the snow. Lots of room to play and explore, and always busy, but not over-crowded. The park is also near a snowshoe trailhead as well as x-country ski trails. Please pick up after your pet. Not everyone does, and that is the only downside to this lovely area. As you can see from the picture, lots of trees and wonderful views.
Hal H — Google review
This is a great area for early season snowshoeing. If you don’t mind making fresh tracks, climb those hills!
Carina P — Google review
Great to have a place for doggies to play and romp in snow. My dogs love it! I love meeting all the other dogs too!
Cherith V — Google review
I don't want anyone to know this exists but it does. Only in the designated area. See Mt Bachelor website.

I think this area outshines other sno parks nearby. Definitely a must go for you and your dog in winter.

Summit Park is a pleasant outdoor space featuring two well-maintained tennis courts, a basketball hoop, and an attractive landscape with abundant trees. The park offers limited parking and provides picturesque city views while offering a serene atmosphere with relatively low usage. It should be noted that there are no restroom facilities available on-site. Additionally, visitors can access a nearby trail located at the park's summit, leading to another park situated on the butte.
Nice park with two full tennis courts and a basketball hoop. Lots of nice tres and a small parking area. Some city views and fairly quiet with seemingly light use. No bathroom facilities. There is a trail at the top of the park that leads to another park on the butte. Great place to get some exercise.

This is probably one of the worse playgrounds I have been to all I can manage to look back to for this park is splinters and the slide will burn you alive, freeze you to death, or shock you will electricity although this place is dog friendly with a good grassy aria as well as some paths and trees to play in overall I think I give this park 4 stars
Parker — Google review
Three picnic tables, a basket ball hoop and tennis court. No play area/swing/slide etc for younger kids. Small parking area (3 cars maybe) and a water fountain. Trail links to Sylvan Park to the north west (maybe 1/2 mile walk).

We think we're pretty darn good. What matters is what you think. Help us help Pilot Butte--and help others help Pilot Butte--by leaving a review. With a little help from the Oregon Parks & Recreation Department, 2015 will be a big year for Pilot Butte. Everything is almost ready to start a big natural restoration effort, fix up trails and other amenities, and expand fitness amenities to better meet visitor needs. All of this is being done with beauty in mind and without taxpayer money and very little government money. It's a community effort and everyone is welcome.
