Outdoor Activities
Long Sands Beach is a 1.3-mile long sandy neighborhood beach with adjacent metered parking spaces. During the summer, visitors can take a trackless trolley between Short Sands and Long Sands beaches, providing a hassle-free way to explore without worrying about parking. The beach offers a traditional day-at-the-beach feel with plenty of space for families to enjoy activities like strolling the shoreline, boogie boarding, and wave jumping.
I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid. This beach will always have a special place in my heart but for great reasons. It’s beautiful, clean, great waves, close to downtown food/shops, lots of parking (street), and short walk from car to sand. Always a go to being a New Englander!
Amanda M — Google review
We were visiting the area with our two nine year olds and this beach was recommended to us, and certainly didnt dissapoint. Parking could be difficult depending on time of year and time of day. We went early and arrived around 11am and were able to find parking. Its an app based meter system so you will have to spend a few minutes figuring it out. It wasn't outrageous cost wise, $9 or so for a few hours. Note if you going all day, there are all day parking lots that were advertised for $30 nearby which is clearly more bang for your buck. The nice thing about the street parking is that it's right along the beach, which made shuttling things very easy. The beach was pretty clean, no real trash to speak of, but they also dont have bins, so everything you bring, you take away. Mind the tide. When we arrived it was high tide so the was fairly close to the beach access stairs. When we left it was going out and I bet there was an additional football field worth of beach in front of us. If it was going the other way and you aren't paying attention you could lose stuff to the ocean. The water is frigid. The board at the lifeguard stand said it was 55 degrees. Sounds nice on a hot day, but the temperature swing is extreme when you go from the beach to the water. We still got it and swam, but be prepared. The beach wasn't real rocky, it consisted mostly of smooth gray and brown sand mixture, which made it easy on the feet. The waves were great for low key surfing or Boogie boarding. Certainly it was a great spot for our family.

York Beach… a nice sandy beach with water so cold only Canadiens and Polar bears would love it. Waters were clear and clean, nice beach for this region. Just makes me miss Santa Rosa Beach.
Keith M — Google review
Beautiful sandy beach. We went after Labor Day and there was no problem parking. I wouldn’t go during the summer months. Nice, clean bathhouse. Easy pay at Kiosks. Nice long range view of Nubble Lighthouse.
Rita E — Google review
This has been our family's favorite beach since 2007. We come up every fall and enjoy the area and this beach. I prefer the rocky section. My kids prefer the sandy beach. We all win with Long Sands. ❤️ Accessible. Easy parking (pay through the app).
Angela M — Google review
A timeless question is whether a spectacular sunrise on a beautiful beach or a spectacular sunset on a beautiful beach is better. The answer is both. Both are better. The weather on the first weekend in October was warm, cloudless, and with the light breeze, sublime. Our hotel, the Sea Latch Inn, was just a few steps from the sand. In fact, we had a fantastic view of the ocean from our 2nd-floor room. I recommend the place! As the sun set, the sky and sand filled with pastel colors, and the moon rose over the ocean. We held hands, walked on the sand, and listened to the waves softly lapping at the beach. At dawn, the sun rose over the water, and we walked again, sharing the sand with shorebirds, tiny crabs hiding among the rocks, a man practicing Tai Chi, and a broad, flat beach that invited an early morning walk before coffee on our hotel room balcony. It was idyllic, and we will be back.
Bill B — Google review
Anazing views. Limited sand at hi tide, so plan accordingly. A sidewalk is narrow in places with drop down to the sea wall. There is limited parking, Web based paid parking omly works if you can access spotty cell services.
John O — Google review
Very nice clean beach right next to public road. Parking is free on the right side and it's right next to the road. Usually not as crowded as it's sister beach "Short Sands" so there's plenty of room to roam around.

Video arcade

Game & Entertainment Centers
Fun-O-Rama is a beachside amusement arcade located on Short Sands Beach, offering over 200 video and arcade games in a 10,000-square-foot pavilion. The atmosphere is reminiscent of old-fashioned seaside arcades with a honky-tonk circus vibe. Visitors can enjoy vintage and new arcade games, as well as try their hand at bowling. The arcade is perfect for families and provides entertainment for both young and old, making it an ideal option on rainy days.
Fun-O-Rama in York is a true gem! It's a vibrant arcade, bursting with a wide array of games catering to all age groups. The lively atmosphere coupled with the friendly staff makes your visit even more enjoyable. Whether you're a fan of classic or modern games, there's something for everyone. Don't miss out on the chance to win some cool prizes. A must-visit spot for family fun or a nostalgic trip down memory lane! Sorry I didn't get a whole lot of pics!
Peter P — Google review
This place is a shell of what it may remember it being. I would say around 38% of the games are out of order, which is sad, as many of these games should be preserved with care. Instead, they are shoved into corners and left to decay with the salty air. Many of the games that were “working” had mechanical issues, most to the point of inoperability. There is still a lot going on, and much fun to be had, but I would meter your expectations as best as possible. Also, the staff all seem depressed. It doesn’t help the atmosphere, and I hope they are okay.
Kenzie A — Google review
It feels as though you stepped into a time machine at Fun-O-Rama. I would say 45% of the games didn't function properly or at all. Still had a nice time. Not very clean.
George T — Google review
Yikes! Who's in charge of this place? Not that I blame them because what a terrible job but staff seems like a bunch of checked out teens with no personality. First two games we tried just took our money, got refund. Continued our rounds with $20 worth of quarters and found many machines out of order and not marked, some worked but not correctly etc. It was honestly a joke. So many games took our money it wasn't even worth walking up to counter every 2 minutes for refund. Aweful shell of an arcade that hasn't spent any money on upkeep..
Mathew D — Google review
Awesome classic, old-school arcade! It really makes you feel like it's the late 80s again! (assuming you're old enough) And if you're not old enough to remember, well then this is pretty much the vibe! The arcade games (at least the ones we played) were still only 25¢, which is unheard of. A great place to spend an hour or so hanging out!
Alabama O — Google review
This is a large arcade by the beach, so it's fun to come down and play some arcade games. As other reviews have stated, there are a few games aren't working, and it's obvious because they're not on, so you don't try to play them. The problem is when the game is on but doesn't work or give out tickets, and you've wasted your money on it. That just shows its a poorly run arcade. Overall it's fun. There are some brand new arcade games mixed in with all the other ones.
Cameron T — Google review
This place has the perfect variety of video games and ticket games! Although some of the games could use some maintenance (like waverunner and Daytona USA) but overall, I had fun here! Staff were super friendly and those other reviews don’t give this place enough credit. My dad went here as a kid and they still have the machines he used to play on! Overall 7/10 experience.
Retrogamer 7 — Google review
The selection looked great. SO MUCH of it was broken and not marked out of order. At least two pinball machines (champions pub and the Star Wars one) took one quarter and then didnt recognize the next one. Time Crisis and Silent Scope had broken light guns, so i paid and then couldn’t actually play the game. Theater of Magic played fine but took ages to return balls once they were locked or went to the trunk, and High Roller soft locked when I locked a ball and it just never came back. Completely unacceptable and a giant disappointment.

Candy store
Ice cream shop
The Goldenrod, a historic landmark established in 1896, is a beloved destination for beachgoers and families. It offers a delightful array of homemade treats including fudge, ice cream, and their renowned New England salt water taffy known as Goldenrod Kisses. The old-school neon-style signage outside adds to its nostalgic charm. Visitors can indulge in classic New England fare at the traditional dining room or enjoy the bustling candy counter and soda fountain.
Got two warm lobster rolls each 25$ and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of lobster in each. I've been coming to short sands for years and wish I would have done this sooner. I'll definitely be getting more 🦞 rolls here again.
Katie — Google review
Old fashioned soda shop with candy store inside where they make homemade salt water taffy. Not too many food options on the menu but the grilled chicken club was pretty good, if only they had fries as an option. I didnt order any ice cream but other customers had some good looking sundaes :)
Maria G — Google review
The nostalgia of this place is off the charts. My parents were going here over 60 years ago and it has changed very little. A lot of comfort. Food is good but relatively basic. Taffy machines still produce the same candies.
Odalys S — Google review
One of the only places you can watch them make taffy in the world! They're still using 70 year old machines to make candy, you can watch the stages of boiling, placing it on the taffy puller, and the packing machine. It's mesmerizing and a fun, free experience, until you go inside of course! Sit at the bar and have an ice cream soda, shop for candy, gifts, or stay for lunch. It's a great time and fun for everyone.
Kurt — Google review
Kathleen from Finestkind told us about this place on the boat tour so we had to check it out. Super crowded but the kids behind the register are very attentive and get your order done quickly and accurately. Taffy and chocolate are excellent and it was fun to check out a working taffy shop and see the production in action.
Sarah M — Google review
I read about Goldenrod in an article about some of the best hidden gems. Now im positive this place would pop up without being hidden but its nestled in the cutest nook of other restaurants, stores and gift shops. Being a busy Sunday by the beach we figured it would be busy. The little neighborhood was filled with people enjoying all York had to offer . The paid parking was easy to access onto our phones and pay as well. The app even came with a countdown option to tell you when your time was up or even to add more time which you may once you see what's around to explore. The resturant nestled right in the center had a window to view the taffy being pulled. Inside had all options of candy and chocolate for whatever you may desire. We had no wait for a table and our waitress was so kind. The food was soo delicious and prices were reasonable . Our little family enjoyed it all.
Shaina R — Google review
Going along with the whole vibe of this beach village, The Goldenrod is about as classic New England Americana as you can get! We didn't eat here, but got a box of the taffy. There were a ton of different flavor options and the price was reasonable. The younger girl behind the counter was so nice, and she seemed amazed (in a sweet way) that we had heard of the place from YouTube and that we were from Alabama. 😂
Alabama O — Google review
Been coming here with my family since I can remember. The taffy is out of this world and brings me so much nostalgia. Always really cool to watch it get stretched out on the machines from the windows and smell the ocean air.

Amusement park
Yorks Wild Kingdom is a family-friendly zoo and amusement park located in York Beach, Maine. It's the largest zoo in the state and offers a variety of activities for visitors. From exotic wild animals to local wildlife, there's plenty to see and do. The park features paddle boats, rides, miniature golf, arcade games, and even a haunted house. Visitors can also enjoy interactive exhibits such as feeding goats, ducks, deer, and parakeets.
Place was amazing I am 62 my husband is 65 we stopped on a whim while visiting Maine never have I ever walked into a butterfly exhibit they were just flying all over the place just beautiful. And the parakeet exhibit where you can buy little sticks with bird food and they land on your stick was amazing all the animals looked healthy and happy bonus were there at feeding time.i could go on and on .Loved it.
Virginia M — Google review
Enjoyed the little zoo they had and the interactive exhibits from feeding birds, goats, deers, ducks and the camel rides also the little carnival they had was a nice addition. The family had a great time the only complaint I really have is you have to watch while walking on there paved walk ways over the years tree roots have made it bumpy so there some real bad areas you could easy trip if your not careful.
Joseph T — Google review
First I'd like to say that some of the exhibits were awesome, such as the butterfly kingdom, parakeet exhibit, goats, and duck pond--those animals seemed to be so happy and thriving! Honestly I would go again just to see and interact with those exhibits. However, some of the other animals seemed to be in very small enclosures, were by themselves (from what I could see, but I understand that I was only there for a short period of time and do not know the ins and outs of caring for these animals), and seemed lethargic. The bathroom by the entrance was disgusting and desperately needed to be cleaned/sanitized. Stalls were out of toilet paper as well, so more attention to the bathroom conditions is definitely needed. Overall, it was not a bad experience and it had some really cool exhibits, but there are a few areas to improve in my opinion.
Kelsie P — Google review
Visited here with my daughter while vacationing in Maine. Lots of fun animals to see. The otter in the added video was immensely entertaining and there were areas where kids could feed goats, deer, ducks and geese- bring your quarters for the food. We went on a weekday when it was barely 70 which is probably ideal as most of the animals were out and at least looking around as opposed to hiding from the heat. It does seem like they removed some animals from years ago when we last visited but there's still a good selection especially for the young ones.
Stephen K — Google review
Very cool and interactive zoo! The butterfly room and bird feeding rooms are so cool. Petting the goats is cool too. It doesn't look like much of a zoo upon entry, but don't let this book's cover judge the rest of it! It is a fantastic zoo and we have been to over 15 zoos this year in New England.
James G — Google review
We had a blast. We saw kids , baby goats and 2 different types of monkey babies. A few large cats, zebra. The butterfly garden was really nice. Lots of exotic animals. Kids under 48" will get to ride the most rides . But there was still a few rides for the bigger kids. A very nice beach is a 7 minute walk from the rear entrance of the park through a commercial street with many food options and the typical tourist traps.
Ohmanifeelfunny — Google review
for such a small zoo, they have a lot of cool animals. They have tigers, lions, but no bears sadly lol. They have a lot of monkeys, and birds. My sons favorite where the birds and butterfly house. The cost is great 18$ for adults, but they do charge for 2 and under. overall will be visiting again, had a great time.
Alyssa C — Google review
It's such a fun place. I will warn you that you will need quarters to feed some of the animals. It's very clean and they have a place to purchase snacks and drinks in the park as well as at the entrance. They have nice signs that tell you about the animals. It's spread out nicely, so there's no bunching. Feeding the parakeets was my kids' favorite part. Each feeding stick was $2.50, and it's best that each kid has one. I highly recommend going for kids between 2-15. You can bring strollers, but some of the paths are bumpy, so make sure it's sturdy.

The site offers a treasure trove of historical artifacts and knowledgeable staff who share captivating stories about York's past.
This was a fantastic few hours touring the museums and learning some of the history and culture of York, Maine. Our tour through the Old Gaol was cool - I always seemed to miss it when I had the chance to be in town. Staff was friendly and happy to share what they knew about the Historical Society's work to highlight the area and people here. The buildings hold so much interest artifacts, there's an old tavern that we wandered through, and a beautiful cemetery on the grounds. So much art, too!

Great step into history. Wonderful staff. Enjoyed ourselves very much.

I went on a tour here with Portland Rec. Dept yesterday. This was my second time touring the buildings...such quaint structures with so much history. Then a van ride around York, with our guide pointing out places of interest, including Nubble Light. Our guide, Ken, was simply wonderful!! Personable and so knowledgeable about the history - and the town! It was a delightful afternoon!
Vicki S — Google review
We recently had the sincere pleasure of visiting the Old York Village historical site and it is filled with so many treasures to see and learn about. All of the individuals who work there are full of knowledge and stories that make the visit even more interesting and meaningful and so worthwhile! We learned so much about the history of York and the surrounding area and it truly was an incredible experience and I highly recommend a visit to others! You will be so glad that you visited! We were also fortunate enough to have signed up for the Memorial Day Remembrance Walk, which was led by Ken McAuliffe and Mike and they took us to all the different war memorials in town as well as the cemetery and gave us a tour that was filled with so much history and touching recounts of the men and women who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and for the love of this country. It truly was one of the most meaningful and memorable activities I’ve ever participated in on Memorial Day and I would highly recommend this walk to others! It truly was an incredible experience and it was a vivid reminder about the cost of war and how many lives are forever impacted by those loved ones who so bravely gave their lives for the cost of freedom. The walk is done each year on Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day and one can sign up on the website. Thank you to Ken and Mike for making this walk possible.

Very welcoming, knowledgeable staff and fascinating exhibits! This museum has some unique pieces in its collection, including a gorgeous 300 year old bed canopy with colorful embroidery that looks like it was recently created. Two hand- crafted violins with figureheads of a man and his so are also quite striking. There are several buildings on the property- school, jail, tavern, etc. Olde York village is worth seeing!

What an amazing step back into history. Great and helpful guides all the way around.

It's a fairly interesting property for which really nice is the location and how quiet it is. It's also a good value as there are three properties they're they're all covered under one admission fee if you take the package which was $15 from recollection. The prison was no more interesting part to me and more unique part. the main house has a guided tour but I think they would do themselves well to add a guided tour to the prison as well.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Wiggly Bridge in York, Maine is a charming destination for families and nature enthusiasts. Despite the misty weather, visitors enjoyed the breathtaking views and tidal flats along the woodland trail. The area offers a pleasant walk by the water with glimpses of lobster fisherman boats in the inlet. The bridge itself is a novelty as it's known to be one of America's smallest pedestrian suspension bridges.
We found this bridge on Google maps while traveling from PA to Maine on a Sunday late afternoon in mid-November. We like to stop and check out bridges that pop up in the map and this sounded cool. I wasn’t expecting the bridge to actually wiggle but is sure did. There happened to be a family photo shoot happening when we arrived and I’m sure their photos will be beautiful since the sun was setting and the sky was clear. We parked on the street. There was a nice nature trail in the other side of the bridge. We did a quick loop because it was getting dark. I’m glad we stopped here and hope you will check it out too.
Miss V — Google review
Such a beautiful and well maintained place to visit. Down side is parking if you are not a resident. There a 4 non resident parking spots on Lilac St. I'm not sure where you park when that is full. I had a lovely resident explain this me and I got the last spot. I have difficulty walking so this makes your walk a little longer but there is a sidewalk and there is an under the street walkway to get to walking path. There is a nicely groomed trail before and after wiggly bridge. You can wander through the woods along the water, sit by the bank, watch the boats, birds, have a bite to eat or just enjoy nature. Don't forget to bring something for the Fairy hole. I highly recommend this stop.
Cindy W — Google review
Great place for a quick walk. Careful with young children and animals. There's a ton of poison Ivy right after you cross the bridge it starts and it's throughout the first half of the trail till it goes downhuill. The photos with red and yellow leaves show it all, easy to recognize as the season is ending. Also careful with parking. There's one 15 minutes spot and some permit parking spots. Further up the hill is the public parking.
Jon D — Google review
Such a fun place to visit when in York Maine. I'd been coming to the area since I was a kid, but only recently heard about this charming suspension bridge - the smallest pedestrian suspension bridge in America. When you get to the other side, there is a very small island and trail you can walk around. Easy for families, dogs welcome.

This is just a fun great little place to stop by for a little exploring something fun and cool to do beautiful little walk lots of Old Town history from that area

Super bouncy bridge that gets bouncier the more people are on it. Worth checking out if you’re in the area. Leads unexpectedly to a nice woods walk with an easy loop trail.

Great little spot to stop and explore. Went in the winter but I have seen pictures and it looks like it would be great to visit in the fall as well or even to view a sunset. Short walking path to get in some exercise too. The bring is in fact wiggly. After you visit here why not visit the Wiggly Distillery 😀

York Harbor Beach is a compact, family-friendly sandy beach known locally as Mothers Beach. It's nestled along a rocky shoreline and offers gentle waves, making it an ideal spot for families with toddlers. The beach is bordered by Hartley Mason Reserve, providing shade trees and benches for visitors to enjoy. During the off-peak season, such as in mid-September after Labor Day, the beach is less crowded and parking is more accessible.
I visited in mid December and it was absolutely beautiful. The parking in the lot says permit only but there is plenty of parking (in the off season at least) on the street that is free 2 hour parking. The beach itself is beautiful and sandy. It is rocky on the sides, so fun to explore. I drove through the village of York, which is absolutely adorable and would be a great spot to check out. I can't wait to come back soon!
Catherine P — Google review
York Harbor Beach is my absolute favorite beach to visit in York. It is so beautiful, there is a really cute park above it and it is much less crowded than Long Sands Beach. It feels so peaceful, the perfect place for relaxing and reading a book while listening to the waves crash.
Kiki R — Google review
I go here often. If you don't have a parking permit, you'll need to park on the road, or chance a ticket. Last time I went, there was damage from the recent storm, but it is a beautiful, quiet place with calmer tides, which works well for kids to play.
Theresa J — Google review
I've seen the coast from South Padre Island in TX all the way to the coast of Maine. The rocks and shells up there make it my favorite.
Ray S — Google review
I enjoyed York Harbor Beach one late afternoon in mid September. Since it was after Labor Day, it was not as crowded as it can be during peak season between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Parking was not an issue. It’s not a huge beach and sits in a little cove making a bit more sheltered. There was an occasional breeze and the temperature was mid 70’s with beautiful blue skies and gorgeous waves as the tide was going. Kite flying was not ideal but still possible. The bride and groom had a beautiful backdrop from many different locations at the beach. From the rocky shore on each end of the beach to the wet Sandy beach reflecting their image with the huge waves behind them, absolutely breathtaking! The bathhouse is a greatly appreciated amenity and was fairly well kept. No lifeguard was on duty but I did see several officers with dogs arrive to check on everything. A great beach and I will be enjoying it as much as possible as winter is just around the corner.
Amy B — Google review
Was visiting from Denver...I couldn't wait to get back to the beach for the day. Water felt great! Sat out in the sun with my feet in the soft warm sand.
Nicole T — Google review
We stayed at the hotel at the top of the hill. Since parking was tight, this is the way to go. This beach does have bathrooms, a huge plus. This was a great place to swim and walk the sand, while it is small at low tide it is plenty big enough to explore. Although on a busy day at high tide the beach can get crowded. We preferred the morning before the sun got too hot. Sat to drink our coffee and a quick dip in the ocean before we headed into town to find lunch The beach is clean and has great views of the seashore and ocean. See photos for them.

Wiggly Bridge Distillery, located in York, Maine, offers year-round tours, tastings, and cocktail classes at their headquarters. The distillery is run by a local father-son duo and is housed in a historic building with plenty of charm. Visitors can enjoy delicious cocktails expertly paired with a three-course dinner during private events. The distillery also features a small retail space where guests can purchase bottles, tees, glasses, and more.
We stopped here on a Sunday evening mid-November after visiting the actual wiggly bridge down the road. We sat a the bar and orders a cocktail and a tasting. We chatted with the bartender - he was friendly and personable and knew alot about the area. I wish I could remember his name but I waited to long to do the review. Nice guy tho. The drinks were good. It was a laidback and easy vibe in there and has a rustic cabin-like feel. We had an enjoyable time and got a bottle of whiskey to take home.

Really amazing distillery with a fantastic tasting room experience. Great spirits and cocktails with even better service. Cozy, rustic vibes and some truly exceptional drinks!

My wife and I visited Wiggly Bridge while checking out the York, ME area. The tasting room is very well done, and cozy. The bartenders were very knowledgeable regarding the spirits and the specifics that went into making each one. And one of them even created a special mixture for me to try that we came up with together by just talking about what might taste good together. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Awesome people, cocktails, liquor and vibe! Bartender was entertaining and professional, and made the best cocktails! We had a flight of tasting and the flavors and aromas are amazing. We had an absolute blast! Thanks to Chris for entertaining us with history and distillery lessons, and the Owner and Atticus for spoiling us with all sorts of flavors and tastings! Definitely recommend.

Visiting from Colorado and saw this place listed. We thought it would be a great stop but unfortunately we didn't even get to try any of their products as they wouldn't serve us due to having a small dog in a stroller, not even on their porch. On this trip we have stopped at numerous, distilleries, breweries and wineries. Not once have we been turned away. We are always aware that we will most likely have to be served in outdoor seating and we are great with that. So, not really happy with the way we were treated. I understand owners have the right to make their own rules for their establishment but still, it sucks

I attended a private event which included a guided tour of the distillery as well as a three-course dinner paired with cocktails. What a perfect evening! The building has so much historic charm and the ambience is just perfect. All the cocktails were delicious and expertly paired. Friendly staff seemed to honestly enjoy hosting us. The spirits are top shelf, there's a small retail space where you can purchase bottles, tees, glasses etc. Definitely worth the trip.

Great local distillery with a range of spirits. Super friendly staff and excellent cocktails. The $30 distillery tour includes a cocktail and 6 spirits tastings.

Always great cocktails and great service! Shannon and Jules were very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Spicy Paloma, which was a special, and the Small Batch Bourbon Fig Manhattan. Each crafted well and tasted delicious. Then. We ordered The Forager which included gin, maple syrup and thyme - it was surprisingly complimentary. We have been here a couple of times and love the barn and atmosphere!

Such a delightful cafe, with Harney & Sons Teas (and a decent selection in both the cooler section as well as the cafe! They did have decaf espresso, which I appreciated, and lots of freshly baked goodies as well as the shelf stable items they are famous for.

I took my grandmother here during the week and we had a very nice time. The campus is beautiful, and they have every jam, syrup, and sauce you could think of. The staff was also very kind. My grandmother and I both wished they had some local items to purchase with stonewall branding, but anything that wasn't food wasn't worth the look. A lot of plastic dishes, bowls, etc. We were surprised, honestly.

Re updating my account that was deleted. I review lobster rolls and this is what I received from stonewall kitchen. First off let’s talk about price. At over 50$ and the highest I ever paid for a lobster roll in the state of Maine I had extreme high hopes for this one. That each bite would be orgasmic. That fell short however! The bun itself was fine, and presentation looked amazing! However the lobster was fishy, rubbery, dry and disappointing. This was not only the most expensive lobster roll in Maine but also the worst I’ve had in Maine. My advice to anyone is to steer clear of this place for their lobster rolls because what I got that day quality wasn’t a thought on their mind. Instead go to la pizzeria In Ogunquit Maine where their lobster rolls look the same but are amazing. You can almost buy three lobster rolls there for the price of one at stonewall kitchen.

I love visiting the home stores for special companies and this was a great one! I, my husband and son all loved what we had for lunch. The store was beautiful and the fall colors around it made it all perfect. Highly recommend lunch here!

Stonewall Kitchen’s flagship in York, Maine offers more than shelves of gourmet jams and sauces—it’s a full experience. Visitors can explore the Company Store, enjoy fresh bites at the café, and even peek into the production floor to see how their famous products are made. The grounds shift with the seasons: blooming gardens and outdoor seating in summer, cozy meals and warm drinks in the colder months. From lobster rolls to pastries, the café adds another layer to the visit, making it a destination as much as a shop. For anyone traveling through southern Maine, this stop blends specialty foods with New England charm. It’s a place to taste, learn, and linger, capturing the essence of local flavor in a way that keeps people coming back. #stonewallkitchen #yorkmaine #newenglandfood #roadtripnewengland

Great service! Of course, I love the opportunity to sample items which always nudges me to buy more than I anticipated ;) During this particular trip, there were some great sales on seasonal products. I picked some up in anticipation of gift-giving. The person who checked me out was lovely. She was very helpful with questions I had. I even inquired about a job there which she shared how much she enjoyed working there. I will be back for some of their holiday gift sets!

I was out shopping with a colleague who expressed an interest in cookware and condiments. We were warmly welcomed by a friendly lady as we entered the store. As we made our way to the back, I noticed a tall young man wearing glasses. We continued shopping and browsing, and after making a full circle back to the cashier, I saw the same man organizing items on a countertop. He was not too far behind us and then went behind the cash register when we approached to pay for my colleague’s items. At the time, it didn’t hit me, but I strongly believe we were being followed. We were the only two Black females in the store and likely within a five-mile radius. I asked my colleague if she had noticed anything unusual, and she said she wondered where he had come from. I was hesitant to write about this experience because people often dismiss these feelings. However, I must say that this happens frequently to people of color and that it was an uncomfortable experience overall. I have experience working in customer service, and as part of the training, we are told not to follow customers. If someone steals, your life is more important, and you are advised to prioritize customer service. However, he chose to follow us and smile in our faces as we paid and left.

Best beach experience of this year! Beautiful beach, atmosphere was relaxing, happy and friendly. Parking was super easy, got there at 930 and lot was 1/4 full. Paid $32 for 8 hours. Beach was clean, water is crisp! They have adequate and clean bathrooms. Plenty of little shops to go walk around later in the day. Lots of awesome food options. It's not a boardwalk, it's actually walking through the town, but it's a 1 minute walk from the beach. I will go back there every year, absolutely loved it. Hampton beach is a complete nightmare compared to this.

At low tide there’s lots of space for beach games. The zoo is close. Very busy roads. Parking is about $4 per hour on the Park n Go app. It’s a short walk to Long Sands.

This beach is in a prime location. It's close to an arcade, bowling, a zoo, and so many other restaurants and shops. There's a parking lot right against the beach that charges 4 dollars an hour. There are bathrooms, which is a luxury in this area. It's good to get to this place before 10am because it fills up fast.

Beautiful clean beach. They have a public bathroom/changing area right next to the beach which is convenient. There is a modern playground fenced in for children and a basketball court. The York Antiques Gallery is a welcoming and well-organized antique store in York. Despite not making a purchase, the friendly couple felt appreciated and plans to return during the summer to check if a vintage glass holder is still available. The store offers competitive pricing and doesn't have the smell of age typically associated with such places. One helpful staff member on the second floor advised carrying cash, which benefits small businesses due to exorbitant credit card fees.
OMG this place was heaven almighty! So much to see and soo much to choose. We enjoyed ourselves looking at everything. Beautiful selection!!!
Mae P — Google review
Better raise your credit card limit before going in! Highway pricing with questionable authenticity. I will quickly say... there are multiple vendors here, so some of the "nooks" might be better curated. But I saw several instances of modern reproductions being priced as antique originals. Be extremely careful. Also.. dont dare to ask for the bathroom, as you will flatly and tersely be denied.
GreenGoat S — Google review
York Antiques is such a cool place to visit! So many great things to see, and the way things are displayed, it's not too overwhelming. The staff was great and so helpful. And the building is old, lots of wood, many levels and creaky- one of my favorite parts! Highly recommend York Antiques!
Sandy L — Google review
What an overly pretentious store with grossly inflated prices. Sure; there were some very high end items here. No question about that, but a tiny pitcher for over $200? I don’t think so. I did find one item I very much wanted, but there was no one at the counter to check me out. I could easily have walked out with the item. Instead, I just left it on the counter after looking for someone for about ten minutes. This is clearly a store for rich snobs who are okay with wasting their money and who delight in yammering with the staff who do not seem interested in selling anything.

Very clean. Very pricey. The gallery is beautifully staged and it’s very easy to walk between floors. Antiques vary from art, glassware, furniture and more. I loved the selections, but the prices were way too far fetched for me.

If you're a serious antique-er you need to stop here. We were visiting from out of state and didn't find a treasure we had to have. We visit this park every time we're anywhere near it, driving on Route 1 in York, Maine. There's always something to see at the Nubble. Today, it was gorgeous, with blue sky, billowing clouds, and sea foam... a perfect scene! And then "Gull Man" showed up to feed the seagulls. In my photo, that really is a seagull on top of his head. The birds flew right over to him, and one of the gulls instantly claimed that spot on his hat. (Yes, Gull Man wears goggles, too, for protection.) It was a real delight to watch, and a perfect time of day - around 1 PM - to see the seagulls as well. Before we left, a large number of divers were getting into their gear to go into the water. And, as always, people were walking their dogs (it's a lovely place for that). The gift shop is a must-visit, too. You'll see items there that you won't find anywhere else... great to take home to remember your visit!

The parking lot can get crowded during tourist season, but it's worth stopping by to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful scenery.
Maine has lots of great lighthouses along the coast. Busy parking lot during summer weekends, but someone is always leaving so you. Gift shop with clean bathrooms and you can walk around the somewhat flat but craggy rocks to get some fresh views and pictures.

One of the most famous lighthouses in the world. There is no charge, but parking could be difficult at times. Is it wheelchair accessible? Yes in the parking lot but not walking down the rocks I see plenty of families with their kids. Everywhere parking can be difficult on our packed day. You cannot go over to the actual lighthouse unless you work on it And you cannot swim over so I don’t even try. There is a little gondola thing that takes over supplies in the winter it is lit up. Parking can be very difficult sometimes depending on how many people are there and there are no public restrooms, but the area is very well maintained and easy to get to

The Nubble lighthouse9-6-25 This Nubble lighthouse is beautiful. The surrounding water and land that it sits on is just spectacular. This light house was built in 1897 and it looks like it was just put-up last week. It is in very good shape for its age. You cannot walk up to the Lighthouse as it sits on a small island. You get a very good view from the surrounding rocks. They do have some benches so you can sit and take in the views. This is a must see if you're into lighthouses you won't be sorry you did. There is a Welcome Center with restrooms plus a gift shop right near this and a fantastic Lobster restaurant called The Fox's Lobster House all within walking distance. The parking lot gets filled quickly and you may have to wait until someone leaves to get a spot but it's well worth it. I must give this Lighthouse a 5 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Follow Me For More Reviews & Fun. Gulf Coast Terry
Gulf T — Google review
The Nubble Light House, or Cape Neddick Light Station, is lovely and is a worthy subject for painters and photographers. Visitors can scramble down rocks as they approach the water's edge at the narrow channel separating the coast from the rocky outcropping upon which the lighthouse stands. A light-duty cable and pulley system spanned the water to the lighthouse, once used to send small supplies over. There is no tourist access to the lighthouse or the tiny patch of rock upon which it stands. The road approaching the small visitor's parking lot passes through a residential area, ending in a small parking lot that is entirely insufficient for the formidable volume of summer traffic, especially on favorable weather days. Is it worth it? Absolutely, yes. Sit on the rock or benches and take in the view while considering how many times this blinking red light has guided sailors past the "Savage Rock" on the coast of Maine. When you leave, stop for an ice cream - follow the signs at the bottom of the parking lot for directions. You can thank me later.
Bill B — Google review
Beautiful lighthouse on an island. There was a wedding going on at the time. Pleasant day. They were quite a few people here. Be prepared. A great stop if you love lighthouses.
Amanda C — Google review
A Maine lighthouse at its very best, with a fascinating history of being in full service with a live-in operator until 1987, when it became automated. The views are spectacular all seasons of the year, and the surrounding neighborhoods are just as charming and almost picture perfect. Parking was easy in the fall, but more of a challenge in the summer. Still, come for the views and enjoy. It’s worth the stop.
Eric H — Google review
Beautiful but not accessible. Could only enjoy the scenic view from the car park. Traffic flow is pretty quick and so parking will be available after a short wait. Not crowded at all.

Note that Google has the location of this beach wrong. It is actually right off the bridge by the campground. Pay $5 for parking at the campground. Beautiful, secluded beach. Plenty of sand for kids to play in at low tide. Plenty of shallow water for wading. We found snails, shrimp, barnacles, muscles, and a crab in tide pools. In an inlet of water, we found tons of hermit crabs and a few tiny fish. Deeper in the inlet there were also regular crabs. We didn't go into the ocean water, but another family found a bunch of sand dollars. Lots of purple and blue muscle shells, white clam shells, and periwinkle snail shells to collect.

Hartley Mason Reserve, once a private seaside estate, is now a stunning oceanfront park open to the public. Situated across from the York Harbor Inn, it offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the mouth of the York River. The well-maintained grounds feature scenic walkways and benches for visitors to relax and take in the peaceful surroundings. Accessible via Fishermens Walk, it also provides access to York Harbor Beach.
I only had a brief visit as I was passing through to get to the beach. It is a beautiful spot overlooking the beach. I followed a nice wide path down the the beach and there were some steps on the way down. Would love to come check this out in the spring.

Glad we decided to try and hit this beach up. While parking is limited and tricky, plan on having to walk away to get to it. The grounds were absolutely stunning and the beach seemed to be the perfect size. Many people here even on a colder August day and despite no swimming due to severe rip currents. There was even a couple people surfing. The waves were pretty good size.

We stayed at the local hotel, but this was our play ground. Hiking on the connected cliff walk, swimming at the beach at the bottom of the hill and sitting in the park soaking up rays and/or reading a book. What a fantastic little spot with lots to do or see over a long weekend.

What a facinating park 🏞️! Great 👍 views! Well maintained lawns and walkways. Very little litter 🚮! Access to the beach ⛱️ and cliff walk. Park along the street. You may have to walk for a little while to get to the park 🏞️, but, I found it worth it. If you walk the cliff walk, be careful!! There is poison ivy! Also, no handrails for most of the walk. Only one person wide. Not for the disabled. Open sunrise 🌄 to sunset 🌇. I recommend a visit! We are coming back to check out the beach ⛱️.

A beautiful park with a picturesque view of the water and easy access to the beach.

Columbary House, an antique store located in Cape Neddick borough of York, Maine, offers a pleasant shopping experience with ample parking on Route 1. The historic period buildings add charm to the ambiance; however, they may pose some challenges for handicap accessibility. With three separate buildings dedicated to Antiques & Oddities, this establishment offers a diverse range of items. Visitors can find various treasures such as an old mulch rake, an antique cast iron teapot, and exquisite China.
There was so much to see at this antique store and the prices were very reasonable. I enjoyed talking with Jack one of the owners. He was very helpful with giving me tips about the area and restaurants. I definitely will go back there and say hi! I got this cute teacup perfect for my birthday weekend.

Nice antique store in Cape Neddick borough of York, Maine. Good parking space right on Route 1. Period buildings make handicap access a little difficult. Three buildings of Antiques & Oddities. We were able to get a old mulch rake, an antique cast iron teapot, and nice China. Some vendors run substantial sales that will reap good savings.

Great shop with a wide selection, many dealers in the coop building, each bringing their own unique perspective to the shop. Friendly owners!

The first things you see when you visit is an outside garden set up with lots of great items. We went into the barn area which was very nice and full of interesting things at very reasonable prices. The salespeople were very friendly and welcoming. There is even more in the house. We really enjoyed our visit.

Absolutely wonderful antique store! Tons of beautiful antiques with lots of rooms and buildings to check out. The owners are so kind and helpful, and the prices are shockingly reasonable for York

What a wonderful shop! We have purchased so many treasures here... and the prices are fantastic. The two gentlemen that run the business are very friendly and very knowledgeable about so many different things, and not just antiques! It is always one of our first stops when we vacation in Maine... 2xper year . 😊
