Casa Alegre de Sagrera is a must-visit in Terrassa, Catalonia. This eighteenth-century manor house was once owned by a prominent textile entrepreneur and has been transformed into a museum after recent renovations. It stands as an excellent example of modernist bourgeois architecture in the city and offers insight into the lifestyle of that era. The mansion, which was the first to have electricity in Terrassa, is well-preserved with original possessions on display.
Very nice modernist house with a lot of room to see. The backyard is spectacular and nice to glance at.

Located in Terrassa, Spain, the Mercat de la Independència has a rich history dating back to 1908. The market offers a wide variety of fresh groceries, including fruits, vegetables, and fish. It is currently undergoing modernization efforts by the municipal government to create more commercial space and integrate new technology.
Lots of stuff: vegetables, meat and others. Nice historic place.
Georgiy B — Google review
Regular market with fresh produce and also prepared food. There's a variety of meat and seafood but not extensive. They have a stall selling spices and herbs (some of the spices and herbs are quite difficult to find in a supermarket). There's also a vegan stall. Overall, a decent market but not the best or biggest market (as in variety of produce, environment, stalls) that I have seen in Catalonia.

Amazing park for a get away from city life. There is beautiful scenery and it is a great place to see some wild life. It is always filled with kids, families, and people exercising or walking their pets. It feels very safe and is pretty clean. There is a public pool in the park and other parks. The Museum of Science and Technology in Catalonia is located in a former textile mill and offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of science, technology, and industry. The museum's design is well thought out with numerous interactive exhibits that are both informative and educational for children. Wooden trains can be found throughout the facility, which are great fun for kids to push around. Visitors can expect to spend approximately 2-3 hours exploring the many scientific experiments on display.
Wonderful experience! The museum has great exposition about energy conversion history in Catalunya, is well organized and a great collection of motorcycles, cars, conversion machines, and computers as well.

Its a nice growing museum. Has some nice pieces in cars, old technology and history about Terrassa as an industrial city, saving proportions, Terrassa for Spain is like Manchester for the UK. Off course there are some clear spots that the might fill in the future with more history of Terrassa and their industrial efforts in the past.
Zorg S — Google review
Beautiful architecture, great exhibitions, fun and interactive. I'd say this museum is a hidden gem for tourists going to Barcelona, specially those with children. It's a huge refurbished textile factory turned into an interactive science museum with huge exhibitions, a large car collection, a radio studio, a miniature train set, a replica of the MIR and Soyuz. They still have a lot of the old textile industry in the museum and they teach you and show all the process it's fun times for science and technology lovers regardless of the age. But of course due to the interactive expositions is a great place to bring the young ones.

(Translated by Google) We went on Friday June 2nd. The guided tour was FREE, run by Terrassa Center and carried out by 3Turons. It was on Open Show day. (I advise you to follow them on Instagram, in early July there will be the Major festival in Terrassa and there will be more visits to many buildings). After climbing the Tower, we were taken to the Geis house, which is opposite. In the underground they found a bread baking oven from 1839. It was hidden behind a wall and after some work they found it in a hollow wall. The visit to the Tower: The 12th century Palau Tower is cylindrical, has four floors and a roof with battlements. It currently measures 26.70 meters high. It is located in the old town of the city of Terrassa, near the town hall. In the square there is a small playground. The Tower functioned as the Villa's prison. It has no original foundations, it is supported by the building's own weight, Between the end of the 18th century and the Civil War, it housed the notary's office and the municipal archive. On the interior walls there are lots of rectangular holes, where the shelves of the shelves were fitted. In the 19th century, the urban growth of the city showed the abandonment of the Castell Palaum, in 1891 it was demolished to improve the Plaça Vella and the tower was hidden among the new houses. On one side of the tower, there is another opening through which the owners of one of those houses that had the Tower in their patio entered. And they took advantage of it for their private use. Until they donated it to the City Council. In 1991 the houses behind the Tower were demolished and the square that bears its name was opened. GROUND FLOOR: Entrance is located 7 meters from the ground, to the Tower, in the past it was entered with wooden or rope stairs. Possibly it was a pantry. Inside there is an iron spiral staircase. FIRST FLOOR: In the 16th century, a built-in spiral staircase still opens on the inside of the wall. The staircase is firm and has a solid built-in railing, which takes us to the rest of the floors of the Tower. SECOND FLOOR: In the s. XVI was a noble room, where there is a Gothic style window with an arch. From the street you can see that it is decorated with heads of angels, men and women. On the walls there is graffiti from the 19th century, which perhaps at some point in history was done by prisoners or soldiers, with images of ships, chess, phrases written in old Spanish with charcoal and chronological marks. ROOF: At the end of the 19th century, the roof was renovated and a new crown was built, in a neo-medieval style. The old battlements were made of stone. They are still preserved and can be seen on the roof. There are circular holes in glazed ceramic that it is not known what they were used for, you can see the outside through them. There are also square holes, these had a little door. They were nests, the birds laid their eggs there and it served as food for the people who lived there. There is also the mast with the city flag. A circular railing to cover the entire width of the tower and see beautiful views of all of Terrassa. PRICES: (www.visitaterrassa.cat) €6.00 adults €4.20 for people over 65 years of age, large families, Youth Card and Club Xatic members. €3.00 children from 6 to 16 years old, unemployed people and people with disabilities (accredited) Free for children under 6 years of age and members of the Super3 Card (children up to 14 years of age).

The tuna-stuffed eggs were good, the galta was hard, and the pudding, I'm not saying it wasn't homemade, but it didn't taste like anything other than chocolate syrup. Masia Freixa, located in the heart of Terrassa within Sant Jordi park, was originally a textile factory before being transformed into the elegant family home of industrialist Josep Freixa. The modernist urban mansion boasts a striking design with arches and vaults reminiscent of Gaudi's style, complemented by white walls and a tall tower. The building's roof features a unique shiny grey appearance achieved by incorporating small pieces of glass into the mortar.
A lovely community oriented park with nice walks and a beautiful unusual building.

Hidden treasure in the middle of the park. In the city of Terrassa we can find some art nouveau buildings but this is definitely the best. Now is the tourist office of the village and the entrance is free.

Developed in 1896 as a textile factory, between 1907 and 1910 this building was turned into the family home of the industrialist Josep Freixa. The Freixa country house is in the centre of Terrassa, in the Sant Jordi park. The house has a structure of arches and vaults inspired by Gaudí, white walls and a tall tower. The shiny grey aspect of the original roof is a result of small pieces of glass being added to the mortar. The porch has a white ceramic handrail. On the eastern side, next to the main section of the building, there is a rotunda with two floors. The interior was designed by Joaquim Vancells and the furnishings in the dining room and the office still remain. The garden, which was designed by the period artist Rafael Benet i Vancells, is of the Romantic style. This is one of the most representative gardens in Tarrassa from the beginning of the 20th century. The Freixa country house was the headquarters of the Terrassa Musical Conservatoire for many years. Since 2006, it has housed the Municipal Tourism Service and the Municipal Syndicate in Greuges.

Modernist urban mansion built in 1905 for the bourgeoisie Freixa family with impressive landscaped grounds now housing Terrassa Council Tourist Office and public park. Designed by a local industrial architect Lluís Muncuncill. It had 6 bedrooms for each family member. And lots of luxurious features for its time like central heating. Every day there are free guided visits at 12 noon.

(Translated by Google) My experience with the tattoo artist was very good, but with the person who manages it, who likes to use the term "CEO" to introduce himself—and you can see his airs of superiority right from the start—it wasn't good because he unfairly kept my deposit money, arguing that I cancel the appointment three weeks beforehand, with more than enough time for them to cover that hour. An appointment in which there wasn't even a design done, nor had we discussed exactly how to do it, meaning ZERO time spent by the studio. I understand that if they've already done the design or minimally discussed what my idea is, it's a job that should be valued, but when there was NOTHING AT ALL, and I cancel ahead of time, it's like I'm losing face with a client by keeping my money, who will continue to tell them what happened so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. Furthermore, it's impossible to speak to the person in charge; their superiority doesn't allow them to listen. Edit to respond: I'm not going to get into any more unnecessary debates. The money you kept was for doing nothing. We didn't have any concrete ideas, and I know your name is Cesc, but the first time I came in with the type of tattoo I wanted to get, I told you I wanted to speak directly to the tattoo artist to tell him my idea of what I really wanted. And that's when your response was that you were the CEO and that I should tell you, not the person who was going to tattoo me.

In short, my partner had to go up and search the locker room, and luckily he was able to recover it. This type of attitude, apathy on the part of the staff and other things like that, they lose this gym, I have been training there for a few months, and everything and it is a fairly large gym with machines and classes, they have very little education and professionalism with their clients, problems with the installation of the place itself, such as the showers that do not stop causing problems, in addition to multiple management problems on the part of the gym staff, who say things that are not true, as happened to us before. of the clock incident. It costs nothing to maintain education with clients, for this reason, even if it is a low-cost gym, not everything is worth it, look at something else and don't spend your time and money here. Usually art exhibitions, sometimes two an hour, one big exhibition and one smaller one. Sala Muncunill is a part, that of the dyes, of the old Cal Izard factory, which in 1921 Lluís Muncunill (local modernist architect) made with the typical Catalan Volta, roof tiles and large windows and iron columns. Ideal to go for a walk in the area. Curiosity: the chimney in front, which is what remains of the textile factory, is cut and the shadow on the summer solstice must match the metallic silhouette drawn on the floor of the square. Plaça Didó: Didó is the pseudonym of a man who was a puppeteer, rooted in the city and the Institut del Teatre, which is next to the room. (Translated by Google) It is one of the worst places I have ever been to, the customer service is terrible, the treatment is terrible, it is super rude and sarcastic and in front of the public I consider that it should not be like that. I ordered a pita menu and the bread was untoasted and the raw meat was barely cooked, the potatoes were super cold and raw on top and the white sauce doesn't taste like white sauce, it tastes like mayonnaise. I asked for the pita without spicy and they still put it on. . It is certainly not worth it and on top of that it is very expensive for what it is.

(Translated by Google) Above all, my opinion goes to the terrible service of the waitress. My parents and I sat on the terrace at 1 p.m. (only two tables seated on the entire terrace) and we ordered 3 Coca-Colas, 2 zero and 1 normal without ice, he brings everything with ice... Why say it if he listens to whatever he wants. First thing already bad. Often, they don't even bring us a menu with the drinks or prices or anything. We ask her about tapas, or something to eat and I ask her if she has a menu where I can look at what they have and prices, and looking at me badly she tells me no, she tells me. He tells us with great reluctance that he only has bravas, bag potatoes, torreznos or anchovies. To which I tell him no, I don't want anything. And we stayed drinking the cokes. Well, to my surprise, a few minutes later a girl comes in asking for something to eat and they tell her that they have tapas, hot and cold sandwiches and a menu of the day... They offer whatever they want to whoever wants it. I found it to be an impressive lack of respect for the staff. I do not plan to ever return and one day when I have more time I will ask for the relevant complaint form and I will inform them of everything they have not done in conditions so that it does not happen to anyone else again. The issue of not having the prices announced is even denounceable. Horrible experience. Horrible experiencia.

It is located at the end of Carrer de Sant Pere, n°61-n°65 with Carrer de la Rasa. Built in 1914 by the municipal architect of Terrassa, Melcior Viñals i Muñoz. The owner of the building was Pere Torras i Obiols, born in Castellar del Vallès. Before settling in Terrassa with his wife Cecília Vilata, a seamstress by profession. Pere Torras, worked as a weaver in a cotton factory, in Olesa de Montserrat. To build the warehouse, they demolished three houses on Calle de San Pedro to build this building. It was the only textile warehouse in the city dedicated to retail sales. The ground floor was used as a warehouse and shop, the first floor as a residence. The building has all the elements of modernism, floral ornaments and forge. Also noteworthy is the balcony with wrought iron railing that runs along the entire exterior of the first floor. In the corner, in a wavy glabete, appears a large floral relief with the Caduceus with wings, symbol of Hermes or Mercury, the god of commerce, with the year of execution of the work, and flanked by two pinnacles. In the pachada on the part of Carrer de la Rasa there is another glabete with the old coat of arms of the city of Terrassa, the tower and the four bars. Very close to there is another building by the same architect Melcior Viñals i Muñoz. The building boasts two floors and intricate railings, making it a visual delight for passersby.
(Translated by Google) Saturday, May 11, 2024, open doors of the Modernist Fair. Thank the current owner Meritxell Montserrat, Rubí's neighbor, for opening during the Modernist Fair and being able to see the interior of this beautiful house. I now know where to go to renew my driving license. From here I encourage you that there will be more rooms in the house such as the kitchen, bathrooms, etc... I liked the large staircase, the hydraulic floors, the sliding wooden doors that were so modern at that time, also different objects worthy of a museum. We were also able to see an exhibition of what a medical office looked like 100 years ago. The house has a ground floor, two floors and a terrace on the attic. History: The builder Baltasar Gorina and his family lived in this house. He commissioned the work to the municipal architect Lluís Muncunill i Parellada in 1902. On the left side is the Concepció Monset House, also built in 1907 by Lluís Muncunill. In the building we can see that it is covered with exposed brick, wrought iron, and glazed tiles, influenced by the style of the great architect Domènech i Montaner. The house is protected as a cultural asset of local interest. The CEM music school was in this house for a few years. Later, in May 2014, the headquarters of the company Alerta Prevention S. L. were installed. The inauguration coincided with the Modernist Fair of that same year. It is an occupational risk prevention company and training center for companies and individuals. They carry out medical examinations and renewals of all types of licenses: driving, boats, dangerous animals, diving, weapons, security, towing, sports medicine. One of the many industrialists of that time who generated wealth in the city at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. It is a ground floor and 2 floors. The highlight of the building is the ceiling skylight inside the house, the staircase with an ornamental forged railing, a radiator with 1 door where the plates of food were heated. I have seen another larger one with 2 doors and a shelf in the Masia Freixa. Also notable is the patio with arches, the viewing balcony that protrudes from the façade and two gargoyles, one on each side of the door.
