Pretty little spot. If you walk around this area and the Nature Trail across the road you can get 2 miles give or take a little. Dog friendly place. A couple nice pavilions to have a picnic at. There are restrooms.

Beautiful place! Waterfalls, trees, railroad tracks, what more could you ask for? The scenery is amazing! The crisp, clean air is exhilarating. Definitely worth the trip!

Great spot for picnicking and a shady stroll along the stream with our dog.There are full restrooms, parking and you can reserve the ramada pavillions for group gatherings. The waterfall and bridge, a short walk from the parking area, are highlights.

It's not a big park but very charming. I loved it. Perfect for a walk with someone special.

Visited as one of our sight seeing places , after spending the night in PA.Kids and wife loved it ,we were in the area and she looked it up on Google,and here we are.

Great park! Great views, relaxing walk, and nice people. Perfect place to bring your dog for a walk or to drink a coffee and think. We had fun playing a quick game of catch while walking the upper loop. Highly recommend a stop here at Trexler Park!

Great park area to walk and ride bikes. Tons of grass area for picnics. There are public restrooms

Great green beautiful park to walk or bike. Plenty of free parking. Nice wide paths. Great variety of flowers plants and trees. One Restroom building with your basic old grungy park restrooms. No paper towels, just those useless air blowers.

Awesome as always. It’s good to see the deer here (and not on the road!). They’re friendly. The path is always clean and clear. It’s bathroom friendly which is a HUGE plus. Can’t walk other parks like Cedar Beach because they close the bathrooms for the winter. Bottom loop is ~1.38 miles and the more difficult loop up past the statue comes out to 2.25 miles if you take the long way. They say it closed at sunset, but I’ve been walking at night with flashlight. It’s very calm, quiet, and lovely.

Great place to walk but avoid direct sun

This is a beautiful and historic park. It is well maintained with very nice walking paths. There is a lovely pond and a historic cabin. There are many benches for relaxing. There are restrooms and ample parking. It is a very pleasant, peaceful place in the midst of a busy town.

Unusually warm October day to spend hours enjoying God's beautiful creation. Lots of trails along canal to walk, fish, bike,jog.

beautiful 5 mile trip on the Lehigh River by kayak and then return 5 mile via bike trail. So nice to have this gem! But - the restrooms at Sand Park were disgusting. I served in Afghanistan and there were better facilities there. I wonder if the town officials are aware of how terrible these facilities are - guarantee none of them would use them!

When you get to the trail, it can be very quiet and serene. Overall, I enjoyed my walk. However, the canal was filled with trash, and I did have a few people come talk to me intoxicated at the first bench on sand island… nothing too bad, but it was a bit uncomfortable for a Tuesday afternoon; I would just be careful. I hope someone can clean up the trash as there was a lot of wildlife in the area I believe there are better entry points to the trail if you are going for a run. However, I am unsure where they are. I will update this when I find out.

sadly feel unable to bring my toddler to this park after seeing the large homeless encampment our first time visiting together. i always loved sand island but now i will avoid it until hopefully the city does something about the homeless problem. really ruins the park and makes it feel ick

Sand Island is the City of Bethlehem's popular riverfront park, with the D&L Trail, tennis courts, basketball court, and flush toilets. The restroom facilities, if they are open, are often awful. An embarrassment to the city. There is boat ramp for access to the Lehigh River located in the upstream end of the park.

Great place to kayak or dip in river

Great park to visit and walk around, have a blanket picnic, and simply enjoy nature in a quiet area of the city.

Love it family injoy every time we go

Located on a busy road. Was here for a baseball game. So can only speak to the ball field area. Parking was challenging. Lots of litter such as beer bottle tops all over. Every once in a while you'll get a whiff of urine. Besides that it's a 'decent' ball field.

Good and safe. I like it and recommend it.

There is so much garbage in the water, and the city doesn't do anything about it!!

Not Allentown's finest park by any stretch, but it has playing fields, and maybe a few ticks.

Came for a birthday party the bathrooms were accessible the area we were in was up top I've had plenty of family members have parties and events here there is so much space for the kids to play it's always clean trash cans grill and electricity outlets.

Went today to do the frisbee golf course with my sons Boy Scout troop. The paths aren’t easy but the woods are lovely and it’s a nice moderate hike for kids.

Just took clients here for a photo session, and it was absolutely beautiful! Even among the disc golfers, there was ample space to adventure and enjoy.

Beautiful trails along the south mountain ridge. Either walking or playing disc golf, it's a beautiful spot.

Great place to exercise. Meditate, disc golf or a some hiking...pretty quiet and good views.

This park is so much more than it appears when driving by. There are several nice grass trails that go back into the farm and up along the powerline. But watch for dog poop. Someone let their dog drop nuggets right in the trails. That's lazy! Move it with a stick.

Always fun visiting franko. See lots of different birds and nice trails and the pond area too.

I love Franko Farm, have been coming to this neighborhood park with my dog Scoo since he was a pup nearly 16 years ago. My mother grew up in the township as did I. Years ago the trails were better cared for, Charlie took great care of the farm. Valentine now takes care of the farmhouse and property around it. She is absolutely amazing! The trails could use a little more care, maybe some extra signage and a few more trash cans on the longer trails. There are several to choose from, none very long, all easy for beginning trekkers. It's gnat season and they are unforgiving. Use spray before you leave or wear a mask and sunglasses. If bringing your pup, use a topical tick treatment or check for ticks regularly. There are lots of ticks on the farm. Of late, there are more folks with unleashed dogs, several have come at Scoo. We had a bad incident a week ago. Along with the unleashed dogs there is also an increase of dog poop left on the trails and more trash. Use extreme caution during hunting season. Bow hunting is permitted at the park. Last season several hunters were positioned right along the walking trails. Sadly there has been a huge increase in vandalism and damage to the gazebo at the pond. It's meant for little children to fish but often it's taken over by adults who leave their hooks, bottles, and snack bags in the gazebo after they leave. I always think you should leave a place as you found it, if not better. It used to be this way at the farm but it has changed greatly in the last few years. All in all the farm is a nice little place to escape the worries and stress of the day and to enjoy the views and rustic trails.

Place needs work. Especially with the people that live in the apartment complex. I’ve seen nothing but trash the past couple of days. Mostly alcoholic beverages left near the court and field that children have their games at. Watched a kid which I warned to not throw asphalt into the pool which they kept going. Had to inform the police now the city has to remove everything that was thrown In there. They tried finding the kid but he took off in the direction of the apartment complex. This place has become not such a great place to take my kids to anymore because of the trash left behind. I clean up some of it and more trash replaces the old. There is definitely no respect to this place where mothers, fathers, and family can bring their children and I’ve been here going on four years

Love this place. Has so many different things for all ages. If you are gonna take your kids to a park, this is the one. Up keep is awesome. Always clean and people are friendly.

Nice pool but no snack stand

It has 3: good things I LOVE! Two playgrounds, a pool, and that mural. Also the tennis courts, the basketball court, and the hill to go sledding on.

Simple nice park with pool, basketball, tennis court and kids playground. The pool is only open for 2 months but never consistent with times.

Grounds are nice. Small but you can tell they're putting alot of work into the garden. Was here for a vintage market in the lot area. Did not notice any public rest rooms. Off street parking from what I can tell. Rose garden itself did not have any visible paths through it. It was all grass. Not sure if accessible to all. Grounds are flat not major inclines. I wouldn't travel far to visit it, but if I were in the area it's worth checking out. It's small.

What a surprise! A few years ago this garden was in very rough shape, but it's been restored in the last couple of years and now is quite impressive! It's full of roses of all sorts mixed with other perennials, well designed and maintained with obvious care. Very impressive blooms! I thought I'd spend ten minutes walking though it and was there for over an hour. This free garden is a real bargain and a treasure for Bethlehem. If I lived in town, I'd go walking there every day. Kudos to whoever took on this project and made this delightful garden!

Easy to get to, spacious. Clean bathroom facilities. Garden was pretty. Off street parking. Close to food.

I love the rose garden. Now the worm weather is here. There should be plenty of mini entertainment at the Amphitheater. Or the all natural farmer's market. What are you like? Chances are at some point during the week there should be something for you. There is a playground that is for kids up to 11 years of age. MEN. I'M NOT EXAGGERATING. BUT BASICALLY NO RESTOOMS.
