Gaborone Game Reserve, located within the city of Gaborone, is a unique 5-square-kilometer reserve that offers a glimpse into Botswana's indigenous wildlife. Established in 1988 by the Kalahari Conservation Society, it provides an accessible opportunity to observe species such as zebra, eland, gemsbok, and various bird species. Despite its relatively small size, the reserve boasts picnic sites and a game hide for visitors to enjoy.

Between the city it feels like a forest .. must visit with your family and friends ..it's quite a place but not so many animals within I have seen few animals zebras 🦓 Impala 🦌 ostrich 🦩 monkey 🐒 There is a picnic area inside with a lot of BBQ fire pit where you can go with your own raw food material and enjoy your party The sitting arrangement is also good with a cemented chair .I think you can bring your own chair 🪑 Fee calculation :- 10/ person adult 05/ kids 10/Vehicles One time entry It closes at 06:00PM Pic's 👇🏽

Botswana: A Journey of Discovery and Resilience** Botswana, a landlocked country in Southern Africa, offers an intriguing blend of stunning natural beauty, vibrant culture, and a resilient history. From the vast expanse of the Kalahari Desert to the lush wetlands of the Okavango Delta, Botswana is a testament to nature's contrasting wonders. One of the country's most compelling aspects is its commitment to conservation. Home to one of the world's largest populations of elephants, Botswana has become a sanctuary for wildlife, thanks to its robust anti-poaching laws and extensive national parks. The Chobe National Park and the Moremi Game Reserve are prime examples, where visitors can witness the majestic Big Five and an array of other species in their natural habitats. Botswana's history is equally fascinating. It gained independence from British colonial rule in 1966 and has since been a beacon of stability and good governance in Africa. The country's leadership, particularly under Sir Seretse Khama, laid the foundations for a democratic and prosperous nation. Despite challenges such as the HIV/AIDS epidemic, Botswana has made significant strides in healthcare, education, and economic development. Culturally, Botswana is rich with traditions and heritage. The Tswana people, who make up the majority of the population, have a deep-rooted history of storytelling, music, and dance. The annual Domboshaba Cultural Festival is a vibrant celebration of this heritage, showcasing traditional attire, cuisine, and performances. In conclusion, Botswana is a country of remarkable contrasts and resilience. Its dedication to preserving its natural heritage, coupled with its strides in nation-building and cultural preservation, makes it a unique and inspiring destination.

Mountain peak
Kgale Hill, located just a few kilometers from the city center of Gaborone, Botswana, is a popular attraction offering stunning views and outdoor activities. This picturesque hill stands at approximately 1,287 meters above sea level and is a favorite spot for hikers and nature enthusiasts. The area also holds cultural significance as it was chosen as the setting for the TV series adaptation of 'The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency,' capturing the old Gaborone's look and feel.
Loved the all-round views from the top, great challenging hiking.
Gary S — Google review
This place needs a visitor’s centre. Google maps took us to the main road by “Kgale News”. Apparently that’s not the starting point of the hike. Please invest in a visitor’s centre and let people pay. Clean it up as there’s a lot of litter and human stuff up there. Some company can take responsibility to provide security and clean up the place. It has a lot of potential.
JK ( — Google review
It's a good hike, easy enough to go with my kids (6 and 8 years old). The view from up top is beautiful. Not very safe near sunset. Better to go during the morning. Lots of trash at the bottom of the hill, near parking lot.
Roberto C — Google review
A wonderful hiking spot for adventure lovers. The hike gets steeper at the paved pathway after the rocky climb up and eventually down. A beautiful view once you get to the top of the dam, and knowing that South Africa is just after the dam is even more amazing.
Lebogang M — Google review
Great place for being in the outdoors and a good walk to the top. Thoroughly recommended: fantastic views of Gaborone and the dam. Popular place to hike. Try and keep the area clean of litter!
Tony L — Google review
Awesome place in the lap of nature a small mountain & forest at the one corner of the city .. Perfect trail towards the top of the hill and you may find some baboon 🙈 over there they are not harmful but keep a small stick on safe side.. No entry fee no proper entrance but near the mine gate you can start as you will find proper parking space there .. but park at your own risk .. View :- from the top you can see the complete capital city of #Botswana Highway & dam both look awesome from here .. perfect sunset and sunrise point but we started late nearly 9AM so missed sunrise and couldn't wait for sunset 😁 Packing:- Just take a water bottle and another thing is that nothing available at the top except they beautiful view 🏔️ Carry some snacks too .. you can enjoy your 1 or 2 hrs Note :- don't go will children under 10 years old because road is too round only big big stone 🪨 that have to climb it's difficult for them some pic of that trail uploaded under can see Thanks 02/07/2022 #Africa #botswana #explore #nature #sunset #sunrise

A nice small hike up on a Kgale Hill, pronounced kaaley hill, on the outskirts of Gaborone, adjacent to Game City Mall. Approx 45 min to the top and about 25 min back to base carpark. Bear in mind, day time visit will be welcomed by big size LANGURS right at the car park, making the hike perilous enough. I came back once, when i went around 12.30pm.

Awesome Adventure in Diamond city Gaborone, Botswana. Mountains ⛰ climbing. There are 2 ways to go up - (i) Via Rocks 🪨 (ii) Via Gravel road halway and steep upside trend road. Feel like a winner after you reach top hill. Even you will find your friends all of sudden sometimes. Morning Sun Rise 🌞 is The Best experience one can feel overthere. Planned visit to this place is mostly not possible, all of sudden is best one.

In Gaborone, Botswana, the Three Dikgosi Monument stands as a tribute to three nationalist heroes: Bathoen, Khama II, and Sebele. These chiefs played a crucial role in preventing Cecil Rhodes from taking over Bechuanaland for his British South Africa Company. The monument is located in the Central Business District and features impressive bronze statues of the three chiefs.
Must visit place in Bots A tribute to the founders monument. Guide Mr Themothe is very informative, kind and will explains the full journey about origin of this beautiful land. Entry is Free of Charge. Duration of tour: 30-60mins max.
Aravind K — Google review
The place was quite calm and quiet I’m not sure if it’s because I visited at a low season but it was very quiet. We enjoyed our visit there, the tour guide explained every statue in detail and with such enthusiasm. It’s definitely worth a visit.
Neo O — Google review
One of the main tourist sites in Gaborone. It's worth visiting due to its historical information about the rise of the former British Empire Protectorate in the hands of three brave men – Bathoen I, Sebele I and Khama III. It's a neat place. Kudos to the security agent who proved to be more informed than many tour guides.
Emmanuel I — Google review
This monument is a tribute to the three Dikgosi, the tribal chieftains that played an important role in Botswana’s independence. Entrance is free and our guide, Nkgose, was knowledgeable and gave us a good briefing regarding the artifacts. The displays can be covered in around 20 minutes.
Ramdas P — Google review
We visited the Monument on our trip to Botswana, I must commend the guides we found there such as Timothy who went above and beyond to tell us all about the Monument and take us through the different regimes.
Tumelo D — Google review
Attend the Ministry of Youth and Gender, Closing ceremony for prayer against GBV in Botswana. It was a semi outdoor event in winter, therefore very cold as it became evening. The set-up was well decorated, and the three chiefs' monument was incorporated in the whole look, giving a elegant feel. There are clean restrooms in the area, not a lot of parking for big events though. Best for events in summer.
Wazha D — Google review
Amazing and rich History. Guide was amazing and shared lots lots of history, he was patient with all my questions.. a great place to stop by when you want the nourishing history of the three Dikgosi

Moreover, visitors can enjoy an annual charity raft race that has been held since 1986.
Great place for ambiance and drinks. Food is just ok, but they emphasize they’re not a true restaurant. Go early and/or reserve a table towards the water for the best sunset viewing. Happy Hour on Wednesdays. Re aware the road out there is rough. Reconsider in wet weather!

I had never been to this institution of Gaborone, Botswana. Took a little boat ride to the restaurant and the views are simply amazing. I had a delicious pizza. However the coffee was instant coffee, a real let down. The menu is also quite limited. Check out @sipswithsethbw on TikTok and IG for more coffee reviews.

Great place for both kids and adults. Wide variety of tasty homemade ice-creams and my biggest highlight was the lemoande, best lemonade I've ever had.

Very quaint and pretty café as part of a plant nursery - recommended to us by a local we met at the airport! We had a great time soaking in the atmosphere.

A quiet, relaxing and nature filled experience. A little tea garden cafe located within a wonderous nursery. A walk before or after your meal is highly recommended - and their fabulous array of teas. I am often left disappointed by their service however. Check out @sipswithsethbw on TikTok and IG for more reviews

It’s a charming restaurant situated amidst a canopy of trees inside a nursery. The seating is shaded and in the open and we could relax there and enjoy the cooling breeze on a warm afternoon. There is also a kids play area surrounded by sand. We ordered a quiche & salad, a chicken- avocado salad and a T bone steak, all of which were flavorsome. The lemon yogurt dessert was delicious and we finished with a pot of green tea. The servers were efficient and we spent an enjoyable time here.

Very relaxing place, with a variety of Menu and food. The place is ample of plants for sale, having suitable title on to it . As far is food and ambience is concerned it’s a wonderful place to hang out.

The lemonade and Moroccan Chicken Sandwich are yummy!! Both are must try! Pizza is also highly recommended! The restaurant is surrounded by greens and trees, which I like it very much. Monkeys are often seen wandering and jumping on the roof or branches and they are well-behaved most of the time 😄

Love this place every time I am home. Staff at sanitas ... You rock ... great smiles and happy makes me feel home. Gelato ice cream is tops not to mention the super lemonade which is unparalleled in the world... Yes I am not joking... I flew all the way from North America home and this is my place to have perfect lemonade with monkeys who want to take your food. Thank u....

The privately owned nursery gardens at Sanitas are the closest we have in Botswana to a national botanical garden or (non-wildlife) park. It's always a lovely outing and a pleasure to see colour, greenery, order, creativity, pride, and the results of long term good management. Highly recommended.

The National Botanical Garden is an expansive and picturesque garden situated by a lush riverside. It showcases the indigenous plant life of Botswana, accompanied by historical monuments. The garden offers a tranquil and serene atmosphere for visitors to appreciate the country's native flora, which includes an array of succulents and cacti. Although some guests suggest improving the signage to enhance the experience, it remains a must-see destination that provides valuable knowledge about Botswana's botanical diversity through its friendly and informative guides.
It's definitely a peaceful place and we had a little party with buddies. The old train engine got my attention and the little musium will give you some knowledge. The security guards are friendly and the only issue is lack of maintenance.
Ravi K — Google review
Nice, secluded place. It could be better and livelier by redoing the signs. Still, worth the visit.

A great place to start your safari adventure. We visited with family and did the afternoon game drive, though the early morning or late evening one would’ve been better. You need to have a keen eye if doing the drive and be willing to shout so that the driver knows to stop. There isn’t any halaal food available but Gab’s is 20 minutes away so you can stop there for a meal

its a small nature reserve just about 20 minutes drive from the heart of Gaborone, Botswana. I went on a 2-3 hours drive through the reserve. But as the first glimpse of Botswana wild life it was vry satisfying. We saw everything that we wanted to- Zebras, Hippos, Impalas and even the white Rhinos. The Cheetah enclosure was a bit sad as there is only one of them left (a female) currently and she looked sad. It is perfect trailer for the bigger game reserves such as Moremi, Chobe etc. and could be a great family day out. There is a restaurant and a small souvenir shop at the entrance. The ticket is about 325 Pulas, which include a packet of wafers and a bottle of water. our guide was very kind and stopped whenever we requested for taking photos. It was a great few hours in the afternoon. Even the drive from the Grand Palm hotel, where I was staying till the reserve was beautifu. If you are going for the afternoon trip, it could be hot and dry. so carrying an additional bottle of water could be worthwhile.

The service was good and the location is very private and very secure and It is easy to get to just a 15 minute drive from Game city. The only problem we had was with hot water in the morning, the geysers were not working . Otherwise, the experience was awesome , the food was the highlight for us , compliments go to the 👨‍🍳 🍳 🔥☝🏻🩸👑💎

If you want to catch a breathtaking sunset while sipping and snacking on your favourites then this is the place to be. We went on the sunset cruise, at first I was scared of the crocodiles but the guide took me into his confidence. This was truly an amazing experience. We enjoyed every moment, we catched a few crocodiles before they went back into the water. The owner is an amazing elderly man who is always willing to accommodate you and assist as best as he can.
Tumelo D — Google review
This was such a torture. Firstly the room was dirty. I indicated to the staff and owner and nothing was done. The sink had hair as you can see in the picture. There was no towel paper. The sheets had a slept in smell, meaning I didn't get fresh linen. Then when my earring fell under the bed. The amount of dust, lint and dead insect was the nail on the coffin. The conference facilities are fine but the food provided for conferecing is below par. With all this said the biggest downer. Is the attitude of the owner manager. Just an example, twice he asked the waiter to leave us, a group of twelve to serve another table, as I'd we were not customers and we were wasting their time. Twice this happened. The way he talked to staff was condescending and demeaning and was uncomfortable for us as guests. This is the first hospitality place where when we asked for basic hospitality we felt like we're too much. And we were a bother.
Poloko M — Google review
Was please with the serenity of the environment. All natural, rich bird life, water life and the crocodiles ofcos. The Boat ride was very interesting and the boat crew very knowledgeable. Food is the only place needing improvement.
