The Monument to the Negev Brigade is a significant landmark located on a hill in Beersheba, Israel. It was designed by renowned artist Dani Karavan in the 1960s to honor fallen members of the Palmach organization during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The monument consists of raw concrete structures in various shapes and sizes, symbolizing different elements related to Palmach and the war.
a unique and special location. I loved to run around as a kid, and only understood the significance of the location as I got older (it is a memorial/monument). Worth visiting if you are local resident or just visiting the city. It's fascinating in it's appearance and it's story.
Itzik Y — Google review
On the way back to Tel Aviv from Dead Sea, this monument worked as a memorable spot as historical record. This place is at a slight slope and easy to find. There is a public washroom near the entry and can overlook the latest city development of Be'er Sheva
Yeung E — Google review
Interesting architecture with some audio recordings (English and Hebrew) on-site to explain the narrative behind the site and design. No entrance fees.
Xin Y — Google review
A very impressive monument, which combines memorial and playfulness to a perfection! Both kids and adults will find something here. Worth a visit, even if it's just for a couple of minutes on your way to somewhere else.

Beautiful place with monumental architecture and symbolism. Surprisingly well maintained with audio guide stations both in English and Hebrew

River Park Beer Sheva is a sprawling urban park located along the Nahal Beer-Sheva, covering approximately 8 km. It features a 3.25 km promenade and bike paths, the unique Pipes Bridge, Bell Park, an outdoor amphitheater with a Light-Sail for light shows at night, a children's playground, and the historic Beit Eshel site.
Open, green, good paths, restrooms, water fountain, benches, playground, exercise area. Scenic footbridge to alternative parking (The official parking is not easy access/exit nor well planned & mostly not near park/ amphitheater)

How sad Israel segregates Bedouins in towns built to drive them out of their original areas where they lived their lives in tranquility. I feel sorry for these Palestinian people who have to suffer because of Israel's arrogance. They ruin an area so that it will never be the same again, and the energy there is no longer magical when arrogance looms. W the Bedouins, long live the life force!
Amarantine C — Google review
Great place to take a walk in the evening or just do a running excercise and dont forget to use the steps if you want to over burn calories.

Playgrounds were great and well kept, bathrooms were quite clean for public bathrooms in a park, be careful about no grill zones as there are inspectors coming around. All around great experience.

A giant green space on the outskirts of the city to spend time at, with whoever you'd like. Park/gardens, free fitness facilities, kids playground, an artificial lake and live shows venue (an amphitheater+huge grassy area). Other than the main facilities there are bike lanes, pedestrian walkways, clean toilets and well kept flora all around this absolute diamond in the desert

Carasso Science Park is a family-friendly science museum located in Beer Sheva. The park offers a wide range of interactive exhibits and outdoor displays suitable for both kids and adults. Visitors can explore exhibits on energy, human senses, and even enjoy a Gymboree-like space indoors. Outdoor attractions include a geometric fountain and life-sized woolly mammoth sculptures from the ice-age era. The museum provides an engaging experience with interactive displays and informative explanations.
It's a bit expensive to get in. Over 100 Shekels for 2 people. It was really hot outside but the dragon exhibition was nice then we got in to the buildings and it was very interesting you can interact with almost everything and the explanations are very good. We were there for about an hour and a half and we couldn't finish it all. The nice part was that I found out was that if I leave the museum I can come back later on without paying again but its for the same day only.
Ravit S — Google review
Make sure you have enough time to enjoy all the exhibitions and the playground. In 3 hours we enjoyed only a little more than half of it. Our 5 and 7 year old loved it and we took our time to play with all the games and interactive material
Georgios C — Google review
An incredible science museum for all ages. We spent 6 hours exploring all the interesting things that the museum has to offer. This week (Sukkot holiday) we even got the chance to visit during the squashes -science festival, which includes many experiments and other special activities for both kids and adults. We really recommend this place for the entire family.
Noa P — Google review
Nice place with a lot of things to see and do. But the instructors at the atomic reactor and planetarium where horrible: Never did I witness instructors with such a low knowledge, low drive and even language problems. Their explanations were below general knowledge, completly simplistic and boring. A place like this - that wants to kindle the interest of kids in science - cannot employ such completly uninspiring and unlearned instructors. In general most rooms and attractions were usually not easy and simple to understand and were lacking explanations or staff that helps and explains. Many things we did not do - that looked quite interesting - since we did not know how to operate them or switch them on. Last issue about the main entrance: Instead of giving the beautiful historic building an honorable entrance from its frontal facade dtraight to the street and to the bus station accessible at sidewalk level, there are high ugly fences and pedestrians need to circumvent the whole compound by a long trail to an ugly side entrance through a parking lot and staircases. Completely unneccessary, damaging, not respecting people (especially pedestrians) and worsen accessability.
Ulrich B — Google review
Great place for kids (and big kids like myself)! Took my cousins here and they just loved it. Made for a really great day! You could do most of the museum in about two or three hours. The outside exhibits were really interactive and fun (and also a great place to sit and eat lunch). We also really enjoyed the life-sized woolly mammoth and other ice-age era sculptures! The main building was cool too explore just from a historical/architecture point alone. Would recommend!
Yael W — Google review
This was an amazing experience for everyone! We made ice cream and 3-D printed a book mark! We learned about the ice age and physics! Great few hours spent! Thanks so much!
Sanda W — Google review
A nice science museum for kids with interesting exhibitions featuring interactive elements. It’s not that big though, and feels highly overpriced considering it offers no more than an hour or two of fun.

Great multimedia interactive displays, games, features and displays- indoors and out, ranging from nuclear science to prehistoric weather and animals, history, life sciences, ecology . Various rotations of exhibits.

The Negev Museum of Art is situated in the historic center of Beersheba, housed within a preserved compound dating back to the early 1900s. Originally serving as a mosque and governor's residence during the Ottoman era, it now showcases contemporary Israeli art alongside emerging artists. The museum offers diverse exhibitions, including displays of West African wooden masks and sculptures, providing an enriching experience for visitors.
A small and charming museum, with a successful guide The ticket was also combined with the adjacent Islamic Museum, we enjoyed it very much. It's a shame there wasn't a workbook for children at the Negev Museum. Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No

Park
Writers' Park, which opened just before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, has quickly become a beloved destination in the city. This vibrant park is adorned with sculptures that celebrate renowned authors and serves as a hub for cultural events, workshops, and readings featuring local talent. During lockdowns, it emerged as a popular gathering spot for residents seeking fresh air and community connection amidst restrictions.
Nice relaxing very well planned park with a nice cafe, plenty of seating areas, a small outdoor workout area that is always packed during sunset, right next to the workout area is a kindergarden and small playgtound, and a small community garden. There is a larger playground for kids and a dog patk at one end.
Guy S — Google review
The park is indeed beautiful, big, clean, with lots of stuff to do with yours friends, family and children - BUT - One thing was bothering so much that I gave it only 1 star - the dog park inside is completely CLOSED for every Friday and Saturday - and this is one of the only few places in entire Beersheba where your dog can have its quality time with other dogs. And closing the dog park for the only two days of the week where most people have free time is not cool.
Benjamin S — Google review
Great park, we love it! Dog/cat friendly, very calm, there's a public library, gym, dog park, play ground for kids! Wonderful!
Yaniv K — Google review
My wife and I love spending time at Writer’s Park, it’s our go-to spot for relaxation and inspiration! We’re big book lovers, and the open-air library here is a dream. There’s a huge variety of books in different languages (we’ve found Hebrew, English, and Russian titles!), and we adore the idea of “take a book, leave a book.” We’ve even donated a few of our old favorites! Beyond the books, the park feels alive with energy, people doing yoga, kids laughing on the playground, and friends playing ping-pong. It’s clean, beautifully designed, and always has something new to discover. The only downside? It can get crowded on weekends, but we don’t mind, the buzz adds to the charm!
Kanan A — Google review
Beautiful place, nice for everyone in every age (also dogs :) The design of the park is unique, integrated naturally into the neighborhood.
Ohad W — Google review
It's really cool place especially at night. There are a lot of different books which you can read there in Hebrew, English and Russian. Also there is very cool playground, place for dogs, a lot of different trees, football court and kind of rows of benches to do some lessons there or something like this. I really liked this place at 1 am during my walking by the city 😅
Mykola F — Google review
Very pleasant atmosphere. Went for a quick walk and came across this park. There is plenty of space and a few art installations to admire. Dog-friendly.
Tera — Google review
This is quite good park. Here you can see the open gym area where many people came to do gym but most of them are kind of professionals as well as cute children will also be there with their toys. And quite good place for spending the evening and calmly think about your own business. So, don't forget to visit this park specially in the evening time. Have fun Vikas 😊

Nestled in the heart of the Old City, Allenby Park stands as one of Israel's earliest public parks, established by the Ottoman-Turks in 1902. This charming green space was designed with a round, axial layout reminiscent of French gardens. Following its renaming after British General Lord Edmund Allenby during his conquest of the Holy Land, a bust honoring him was placed at its center.

Nature & Parks
Ein Hemed National Park, located just a short distance from Jerusalem, is a picturesque nature reserve and national park. It offers visitors the chance to explore streams, dams, and shaded picnic spots. The park's natural beauty includes waterfalls and pools that are perfect for swimming or simply enjoying the serene surroundings. Additionally, nearby Abu Ghosh village is renowned for its delicious hummus, making Ein Hemed an ideal destination for a day trip from Jerusalem.
One of Israel's most beautiful places. Plenty of greenery and shade with lovely water streams. Beautiful location worth a stop but not a destination on its own. The highlight is definitely the crusader farmhouse. Amazing place even with lots of people Still you will find a quiet place
Alex D — Google review
Ein Hemed – A Green Gem at the Edge of Jerusalem Just a short drive from Jerusalem, Ein Hemed is a hidden treasure where nature, history, and family-friendly atmosphere converge. Nestled in the heart of the Ayalon Valley, this national park features a flowing spring, lush greenery, and the impressive ruins of a Crusader fortress known as Aqua Bella. It’s a perfect blend of heritage and tranquility, ideal for a relaxing day out. Ein Hemed is particularly popular for its accessibility and well-maintained picnic areas. Shaded by ancient trees and surrounded by vibrant plant life, the site offers a cool escape from city life. The spring water flows into a shallow stream, inviting children to play while adults enjoy the peaceful setting. In springtime, wildflowers blanket the area, adding bursts of color and fragrance to the air. What sets Ein Hemed apart is its historical depth. The remnants of the Crusader-era structure, with its massive stone arches and walls, tell the story of pilgrims and knights who once passed through on their journey to Jerusalem. Today, those stones stand quietly as visitors of all ages walk among them. Whether you're seeking a quiet picnic spot, a light hike, or a chance to explore centuries-old ruins, Ein Hemed offers a full and enriching experience in a truly magical corner of Israel.
Stav K — Google review
This place is stunningly beautiful. It's more of a park & picnic area than a tourist site. There is a moderately well-preserved crusaders area fort that is cool. But as a lush green park with a creek it's unbelievable. Many park benches, places to sit creek side, and even a good number of well-kept water closets and sink stations. This is an outstanding place for a picnic or a day of rest.
Andy D — Google review
Lovely place. Would love to come back. Make sure to buy the fairy hunting game - kids and adults will enjoy.
Ido A — Google review
Could be a beautiful park however it was super crowded with ultra orthodox and others BBQing filling the air with smoke and disgusting smells, children running around everywhere, heaps of trash dirty diapers literally hell on earth by the population that visits the park. My advice come on the sabbath to avoid the ultra orthodox and or very early and leave when the smoke fills the air.
Oren R — Google review
A great spot for a picnic and very short hike. The park is managed by the Israeli National Parks service so there is an entrance fee, but there are clean bathrooms and staff onsite. The crusader structures are well preserved, but the signage is a bit lacking. Still a cool site and we'll kept.

I shouldn't even recommend this park if I know what's good for me.. I was lucky to pass a day there on a slow day, with out a lot of people in the huge, beautiful, park. Zoos
The Negev Zoo in Israel is a beloved wildlife park that is ideal for families with children. It may be small, but it offers a perfect experience without being overcrowded. Additionally, finding parking nearby is always convenient. The zoo provides plenty of shade to ensure comfort during visits. Admission costs 35NIS per person and it is recommended to wear a hat and sunglasses while exploring the grounds. This inviting establishment boasts a friendly staff who warmly welcome guests alongside an array of fascinating animals.
Fun zoo. The animals were visible and very active (I was there in the early afternoon, 13-16). Kids have the option to buy food to feed the animals. I wasn't a huge fan of this because it made some of the animals very cranky when they realized I didn't have food - most simply walked away, but a few tried to bite me through the bars. A fun place to spend a few hours.
Judah — Google review
This park has went through a heavy face-lift fairly recently, and now actually gives the Ramat Gan Safari a run for its' money. It doesn't have as many animals as the aformentioned zoo, but it compensates for it fully by giving the visitors a better experience overall. The park grew at least 3 times in area with the renovations made, was remade from the ground up animal-keeps-wise and is now promoting a less of a classical zoo makeup, but a holistic approach, where the visitors go about their trip around the grounds, and observe the animals doing their thing. The enclosures are large, the scenery is smartly designed for a great walk and includes many shaded sitting arrangements and toilets. Reccomend not to put your faith on the bus to get from there to wherever you're going and either walk back to the main road to catch another bus or take a taxi(won't cost much to the central bus station).
Maria N — Google review
An unconventional zoo. With a non-standard design. There are quite a few animals of all kinds. Very beautiful lions and an impressive hippopotamus :-). There are enough toilets and kiosks with drinks and snacks. It is recommended to buy tickets in advance and come in weather that is not too hot, in order to see as many animals as possible outside their hiding places.
Marina ( — Google review
My favorite zoo in Israel. Small but perfect for families with children. Never too crowded and always close parking. Lots if shade too.
Dani H — Google review
A big sprawling zoo, with large enclosures for most animals, quite a few nature - related activities for kids, lots of places to sit, water fountains, shade... A full-day (or a good few hours) occupation for families with kids and not only them. Would've given it a 5, if there weren't so many kiosks selling overpriced junk all over the place. Well, guess they have to make money off the place somehow...
Frezie G — Google review
I recently visited the zoo, and while I appreciate the effort to care for the animals, I was very concerned about some of the conditions. Many of the animals looked very thin, and it seemed like they are not getting enough proper nutrition. Additionally, there was a serious lack of shaded areas in many enclosures. Animals need places to escape the sun and rest comfortably, especially on hot days, but unfortunately, most of them had no access to shade. It was particularly alarming to see the small animals kept in glass enclosures. They clearly have too little space, cannot move freely, and looked very stressed. It seems that many of them are slowly dying from stress and the lack of a natural environment. I understand that running a zoo is challenging, and I truly respect the staff who work hard to maintain the animals’ health. However, I believe that adding shade for all animals, reviewing their diets, providing enough space, and improving conditions for the small animals would make a huge difference. Animals deserve a safe and comfortable environment that meets their physical and emotional needs. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the welfare of all the animals.💔😿

HaBsor National Park, also known as Eshkol Park, is a stunning destination that offers a blend of natural beauty and historical intrigue. Nestled in a protected area filled with springs and grasslands, visitors can enjoy activities like hiking, cycling, and swimming amidst ancient Egyptian ruins. The park is well-maintained with clean facilities including toilets and showers. Families will appreciate the small spring that flows into a narrow stream—perfect for kids under 10 to splash around in.
W place for chill, wading polls, view over large size of the Negev, and if planes passby you can planespoot, this place also has sleeping for some extra bucks, and it's beautiful there with also some preserved old Ottoman railway tracks.
Megasquid9509 — Google review
A bit boring. It is good only for a picnic. The tiny water puddles to dip the legs in are filthy. The toilets are dirty and unattended to. There is not enough shade for a picnic in the summer. The disk-golf baskets are not properly marked and we didn't know their route. The kids enjoyed examining colorful stones and little rocks, and splashing in the puddles. The rope bridge is a nice attraction outside of Eshkol park, and there are sea turtles in the stream below it.

Not enough shadowed places or with tents, it's extremely hot outside. WC is clean and equipped with paper. The playground for kids has hot surfaces because the tent is not stretched to its full area.

A small spring that is directed into a narrow stream. There are not enough trees so prepare to sit in the sun if you are coming late. The water are nice for kids up to 10 years old and there is enough parking place. Worth the visit if you're around

The staff is very caring. Provides excellent service and overall experience. Well maintained. Toilets are clean. Showers present. Grass is trimmed. You can rent matrasses. There are special places for fire and you can buy wood for fire. Highly recommended!

We came early and it was empty, clean and worm enough for my daughter's to go in the to the water. A lot of parking places and a small kiosk to buy water and ice cream. We had a table (4-6) located under a tree so when it became warmer we he'd enough shadow.

I was unfortunately disappointed from my visit there. My family and I went together during Passover vacation (April 2019). The entrance price is 22 NIS for an adult and 9 NIS for a child. The weather was great and there were many benches and tables under the shadow of huge trees. The open space was big and generally nice (a lot of green grass). However, the park seems to be a little neglected - the water in the fountain seem polluted (since there is no flow, it became kind of a swamp). The wading pool was very literally empty. The viewpoint is just a 10 meters tall tower. Also, the reconstructed ruins of an Egyptian resting station are no more than a bunch of knee-height brick walls. On 3 pm an announcement came via PA system saying a tour is starting (probably because it was Passover). We decided to pass, realizing there is not much to see that will make an significant addition to what you can read online. View the pictures!

This place is very nice for Friday and Saturday trips or walks. There are some viewpoints along the way where you can stop and looking at the view. There is also a bike and a car options if it’s more your taste.

Great outdoor space in Beer-Sheva. Love the water & ducks, a lot of photo options to take. Myonly criticism was that there wasn't enough shade.
