This restaurant came up first in my search for a lunch place, and had 4 and 1/2 stars, with a lot of reviews which was very promising. But also set up the expectations really high. I did only order a salade nicoise, and my companion ordered oysters and a tomato salad, so the sample is not very significant. However, there are a few take aways: the products were fresh, and the mozzarella was excellent for the salad. My salade nicoise was not too good. The greens were wonderful, and were topped with potatoes, very scarce olives, one egg, some string beans, and tuna. The tuna was the most disappointing part since it was crumbs, and did not look or taste like quality. Then we had coffee, and I did not like it at all (which is rare: in France coffee is usually excellent). All in all, it was an OK experience, but definitely not a place where I would go back to. The price was about $40 per person, with only one alcoholic drink (beer). No dessert.

Food is ok but a bit above market price. However the head waiter at the front is awful. Take customers for idiots and she is arrogant. I don’t know her name but she had short hair with glasses. I was asking if she had a table for 2 + a stroller and she immediately said no while the person next to her mentioned he can give us a table upstair but mention there are stairs. So I asked how many stairs and the woman just shouted at me saying “ yes it’s a stairs so there are stairs” as if I was an idiot. Not the best way to talk to customers who want to spend money at your place and basically pay for your salary. The waiters inside were very nice.

We live and work in the Netherlands and we are free to travel where ever we want in Europe without passport. But guess what? This is the only place where you can’t enter with your Dutch resident permit. However, they accept Dutch driver’s license. When you ask the logic behind, the difference between Dutch ID and Dutch Driver’s Licence the manager says “eh ben oui le policee”. I find it really racist and dissappointing. And believe me, the one in Trouville has waay better ambiance.

For casino lovers, this is a place to visit when in town, directly next to the beach, in the middle of the town. Classy and elegant.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. Despite having valid Dutch residency cards, we were denied entry without any proper explanation. Our residency permits grant us the right to travel freely within the EU, yet the staff insisted on seeing only a passport. This made us feel discriminated against, as there was no logical reason for the refusal. It’s truly upsetting to be treated this way in a place that is supposed to welcome visitors. Experiencing such behavior in a city like Deauville was a real letdown

I tried to buy a postcard from the shop, it was displayed in all the showcases. At the reception, a highly unmotivated lady told me they didn't have the card anymore. No effort was shown to take a card out of one of the showcases. Disappointing.

We had a wonderful experience, the waitress was so nice, and even though we didn’t speak French, she was incredibly patient and kind. The food was delicious and the wine was excellent. When visiting Trouville-Sur-Mer, this place is a MUST! They make their menu daily based on what’s fresh and the husband & wife team are so nice. Absolutely the best meal I have ever had! My boyfriend and I were here for one night and had this place recommended to us. Google maps said it was closed, but when walking by it was open (hours are different in high season). The menu changes every day and is written on a chalk board. We both got a different seafood dish and it was so good we complicated ordering another main to share instead of dessert. The table next to us got the ice cream and it looked so good we ended up with that. They also bring you a small glass of Calvados at the end of the meal. Very strong but delicious. They are just a few feet from the beach path and offer an excellent view of the sunset. I would eat here every time I come to this city, and possibly drive out of my way to be able done here.

The place looks like a nice bohemian hideaway where you would expect nice food, wine and ambience. However, we ordered the smoked salmon and prawns. There was no taste to it. Four slices of tasteless smoked salmon served with an equally tasteless sauce. Same thing with the prawns. Boiled prawns, tasted of nothing. All in all with a 50cl of house wine (also far from great) came to over €60. The place might look nice but I wouldn't even stop here for a quick drink.

Perfection, wine the food just what you expect from a French place. Must go if you are near. Super friendly staff and the chef de cuisine knows what he is doing. Simple but high quality ingredients.

In 40 years I’ve never had to send a meal back. I really couldn’t eat it. They took away the steak and brought back the chicken which was just about eatable. Not very well cooked though. The Beaujolais at €30 is probably one you can get in the supermarket for less than €3 and that was pretty awful as well. We also ordered a bottle of water which didn’t turn up but, guess what, it was on the bill at € 9.50 but deducted on request. Very expensive but nice ambience and excellent music. That’s the only plus point I could think of.
