Cafe
Tropics Cafe, part of Julianas Hotel, is more than just a hotel bar and restaurant. It offers a relaxing atmosphere with poolside lounging and panoramic views. The cafe serves top shelf cocktails and a regular menu featuring fresh lobster and local seafood dishes. Additionally, they have vibrant daily chef specials using locally caught lobster from the Saba Bank, fresh fish from local fishermen, and herbs and vegetables from their own garden.
Had awesome views and a great vibe. Loved to see the ocean out one way and mount scenery the other. Our server was great, but most important the food. The food was very good, the best I had on the island. Went twice, had great vibes in the afternoon and during dinner.
Shea S — Google review
Nice restaurant right next to Juliana's where we stayed. While overpriced for what you get, the food is pretty good. The lobster was prepared well but the mango sorbet was freezer burned a little bit (although still delicious). The staff are extremely friendly and always treat you right but they can be a little slow at times, especially at the end of the meal when it's time to settle the bill. We ate here over 5 times and we never left disappointed. There aren't a ton of food options in the area but Tropics is definitely worth the visit.
Joe M — Google review
Very surprised by this wonderful place in Windward Side. I had read good reviews so my expectations were high but they were exceeded. The service was excellent, quick and the food delicious. Starting with a bottle of wine for less than $30 and lovely ‘lobster escargot’ which is snail sized lobster bites swimming in butter sauce. The surf and turf was amazing and the steak cooked to perfection. The best thing was the lovely environment, around the hotel pool with a view overlooking the island. Top place.
Ian W — Google review
Tropics Cafe is one of the best places on the island to eat. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything on the menu is good and they have fresh lobster🦞. The atmosphere is so peaceful with a gorgeous view. You can also swim here and you are greeted by the local dog Hermes everyday. 🐕 I recommend staying at the Orchid Cottage since it's right next to the cafe.
Emma W — Google review
Excellent place that was recommended by others and definitely did not disappoint! Had dinner and breakfast there and the food was just excellent!! Service was friendly and great and prices for such a tiny island definitely acceptable! Highly recommend!
PheNom603 — Google review
This was a wonderful returns experience! Our meal was absolute perfection. We had the mahi mahi in lemon soup sauce with plantain. Staff were also so kind. We even got free and fresh passion fruit and soursop to take home! Highly recommend for your trip to Saba!
Krisa C — Google review
OUTSTANDING dining experience! A MUST VISIT! Amazing entrees, drinks, service and staff! We didn’t want to leave. The Saba movie was beautifully done! Our party of 7 was very well taken care of.

Do you want deliciousness? You will not be disappointed. I had the fish fingers and hubby had the jerk chicken. The food is always good. Great flavors to treat your taste buds to. I love the scenery. Best service ever if the staff here is amazing

Nestled in the charming Windwardside at Breadline Plaza, Hideaway Bar & Grill is a delightful indoor-outdoor dining spot that has quickly become a favorite among both locals and visitors. With its friendly service and laid-back atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to unwind over lunch or dinner. The menu boasts an enticing array of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, mains, and desserts that cater to all tastes.
I had wings and salad. The wings were the best ever. I loved the hot sauce. The Kobe sliders were awesome. You can not go wrong with anything you order on the menu. The chef is fantastic and makes up perfect dishes. the menu is plenty big with a wide assortment of choices. Go enjoy!!

Saba, as an island, was very hit and miss with the food. Unfortunately this place was one of the misses. Our server was not very attentive. Meal choices were so so. Food was bland and overpriced. Loved being able to sit outside, always a bonus!
J M — Google review
We had an amazing meal here! Our server was accommodating and kind. The food was very good and, when it took a while for our order to arrive, they offered us complementary drinks. We had the focaccia bread which was delicious, the chicken burger and the hamburger. All were made well and very tasty. The atmosphere was lively on a Friday night.
Olivia S — Google review
Three strikes and you're out. Visiting the island we went to Hideaway for lunch. The doors were open and the sign outside said they were open but upon entering the owner informed us that they were not open. He was extremely pleasant and gave us recommendations for where else to go which was nice. Second time we attempted to visit for lunch the doors were again open and this time there were multiple signs saying they were open. This time we were told they were closed for food and only drinks were available. We had a beer and left disappointed. Tonight we knew we were well within the dinner window and tried again. This time we were told outdoor seating was closed and it would be an hour to get a table. To our annoyance there was a free table but as we were leaving we saw the employees from the other day arrive and sit at the open table. This left a bad taste in our mouths and we will not be attempting to go to Hideaway again. Thoroughly disappointed.
Joe M — Google review
Lively crowd in the middle of westwardside. I didn't try the food, but saw people receiving grilled chicken with veggies on the table next to me that looked delicious and very generous!

This unpretentious bistro boasts a menu that evolves weekly, showcasing the freshest local ingredients and offering an exquisite blend of French cuisine with Caribbean flair. Guests can indulge in creative tapas, artisanal pizzas, and sumptuous seafood dishes like Saban lobster and lobster pasta.
Best dinner we had on the island! Definitely get the famous gin and tonic - each one has a different flavor profile and I’ve never seen someone make them so creatively. All the food was delicious - we got the vegan schwarma, pumpkin soup, and pumpkin ravioli. I’m so glad they have excellent vegan options! We even went back for taco Thursday which was also delicious.
Natalie F — Google review
One of my favorite places to eat. Such great food. The chef always comes up with these unique dishes that are so delicious. Definitely give this places a visit. Your tummy will thank you!! Enjoy

I went in on a Sunday evening! The food was delicious and staff was great! Even offered me a blanket in case I got cold. Definitely stop here during your stay on the island.
Samantha — Google review
Not a great experience. Apparently on Mondays they do a "blue plate special" which apparently means there is only one dish on the menu. We made the mistake of going on a Monday as the singular dish was sausage, kale and mashed potatoes with gravy. The sausage was both flavorless and disgusting at the same time, the gravy was extremely salty and the kale mashed potatoes was horrendous. The best part of the meal was that it was only $15 so it didn't break the bank when we went to another restaurant for a second, better, meal. I was thoroughly disappointed as I read great things about this place. I hope they just had a bad night but I won't return to find out.
Joe M — Google review
Wowweee. We went on Taco Thursday night, and they were some of the best tacos I've ever had. Great service too. Limited on drinks though. Love the ambiance. Definitely worth a try.
Dave K — Google review
Great tapas and the most reasonably priced meal on Saba. Had the chef’s selection of 4 tapas and added the avocado. They were all great. Had a cheesecake desert that was boring and we wouldn’t bother with desert again. Service was good, would recommend reservations. Good wine selection.

They have changeing menu's i was there at tacothursday. Nice surprizing tacos specialy the one with fried plantain and black bean. The dessert was also a nice fried taco.

Swinging Doors in Windwardside is a casual local spot that offers American and Caribbean cuisine. On Fridays, it's barbecue night with full racks of ribs, potato salad, and rice and beans served by the friendly proprietor Eddie and his partner Pat. On Sundays, steak night requires reservations for a taste of the owner's barbecue mastery. The saloon-style bar may not be stylish but attracts island-dwellers bringing fine wine to pair with their rib-eye steaks.
It's a bar. No food except Friday night BBQ. But if you want some great stories, hanging with some great local people, this is the place. The decor is awesome. The owner Eddie is absolutely awesome. The decor is so cool. No fancy drinks, and Eddie will tell you that if you try to order one lol.
Dave K — Google review
Went on Friday for the much talked about BBQ, was told “we never serve food” and to go elsewhere. Nobody was eating food. At 8pm there were 3 people in the place. Seems they do not have BBQ. Don’t plan to eat here.
Grant S — Google review
Fun little bar with the sweetest owners and management. BBQ on Fridays is unreal, but make a reservation.
Andy G — Google review
Looked like a fun place but the prominently displayed Trump license plate caused us to choose another place.
Brendan C — Google review
Not only is the bar stylish, they serve bbq on Fridays but you have to order ahead. It’s super tasty! Loved my time there.
Russell W — Google review
My parents used to visit this place when I was about 3-4 when we lived in the island (about 17 years ago) My mum still talks about the food and how much she loved the place!

When you find yourself in The Bottom, make sure to stop by Island Flavor, a beloved local eatery that captures the essence of Caribbean cuisine. This charming restaurant offers a delightful menu filled with everything from herb-crusted steak to fresh seafood and pasta dishes, ensuring there's something for everyone. One of the highlights here is their freshly blended fruit juices—don't miss out on the refreshing lemon chiller with mint!
At the Bottom in Saba we spent a few hours walking around the town and chatting with some locals. Island Flavor is a lovely little place dedicated to great quality food and drinks. The fresh lemonade and stuffed potato skins were my choice today and were great.
Ian W — Google review
A local recommended this place for lunch. It was busy, but we managed to get a table on the beautiful oasis deck. Food was very good. The food did take longer than expected, but it allowed us to relax, enjoy the beautiful view, and get on island time.
Norm G — Google review
A very nice and cool local place to visit when on the island. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant as well because you can sit and overlook the road and watch people and cars go by as you're eating. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I am visually impaired and the waitress helped me with the menu and getting around the place. They have a good selection of food and some local dishes as well. I got the grilled seafood plate with locally caught fish and lobster. It was a good portion of food and it was extremely flavorful. If you were on the island even for a day, it is definitely worth stopping here and having lunch or dinner.
Matt M — Google review
We had a wonderful lunch here after a morning of hiking. The ginger lemonade was delicious (don’t get it if you don’t love a strong ginger flavor). Plenty of vegan options to choose from - we tried the Ital bowl and the mushroom/black bean burger. Both were excellent! I think this may be the best place for vegan food on the island. My only complaint is that they brought mayonnaise out with our burger, so be sure to specify that you don’t want mayo.
Natalie F — Google review
Cute little dining experience! 4 different entrees, ALL were excellent! Try the ice cream coffee too 🔥! Friendly and efficient staff! Great service too. Must stop in for a bite!

This charming spot boasts a nautical theme adorned with vintage cameras, creating an inviting vibe perfect for groups—especially divers who enjoy sharing long tables. The menu features unique pizzas like the Big Jim, alongside comforting classics such as mac-and-cheese and steak fries.
Busy place but very friendly and welcoming stuff made extra effort to accommodate our group of 9. It took some time to get our pizzas but we enjoyed relaxed atmosphere in this nicely decorated pub. The pizzas were excellent!
Jurek N — Google review
Decent restaurant. All was OK. Nothing really stood out, apart from the size of their pizza's. The large one is big. The 15% included tip is also a bit steep. Service was ok, not arguing that, but I still I like having the option to tip as I find the service.
Darby B — Google review
Food was good. Outdoor dining was good but I didn’t enjoy the exhaust smell while eating. Service was good and efficient.
Dave F — Google review
Long Haul's is the perfect place to go post dive or post exam. The atmosphere is friendly, the owner is awesome. It feels like an old school corner pub, but with a nicer indoor asthetic. Go for a game of cards against humanity and stay until last call.
Jocelyn A — Google review
The Long Haul Grill is one of the restaurants on the main street in Windwardside, Saba. The food is excellent and the service is quick and friendly. My wife and I ate there twice during our stay. The second time, we had a pizza, which was delicious, and we recommend it. You can eat either indoors or on their outdoor patio. The only drawback is that the vehicles going by on the road can make it seem noisy.
Henry M — Google review
Great American food. Burgers, Fries, Pizza, Nachos, Mozzarella Sticks. They have Caribbean twists on some the dishes, of course. Good drinks. Great service.

Fort Bay Harbour Office is a must-visit spot in Saba, offering a unique experience for travelers seeking an untouched Caribbean destination. Unlike other commercialized islands, Saba boasts a pristine reef with volcanic formations and a mountain rainforest to explore. The harbor provides moorings on the sheltered western side of the island, making it an ideal stop for sailing enthusiasts. Visitors praise the professionalism and helpfulness of the officials at Fort Bay Harbour Office, ensuring a great experience overall.
The handsome young man that worked with us for approximately 4 hours as my Covid test was not downloading deserves a raise or better yet. I will buy him dinner! Older than my children he is. Went to Saba to go Diving. Pricey, but worth it. He would make me proud if I were his Momma. 👋

There are few destinations where you'll find a pristine reef with volcanic formations and trek through a mountain rain forest on the same day. Saba is that place. Safe, friendly and untouched by commercialized tourism, a destination not to be missed while sailing through the north eastern Caribbean Sea. Unlike its surrounding islands Saba has no commercial yacht marina - but rather a secluded strip of moorings on the more sheltered western side of the island. Staring up at the cliffs and slopes of the island from here is breathtaking, you'll imagine yourself alone here surrounded by nature and the few other adventurous vessels moored with you after journeying to this rare and beautiful spot.

University
Saba University School of Medicine is located on the island and its students and faculty make up a significant part of the population. The island hosts annual events like Saba Day in December and the popular Saba Carnival in summer. There are a few small restaurants, bars, and a grocery store available. The enrollment experience at Saba has been positive for many, with staff providing guidance and support throughout the process.
Throughout the application process at Saba, I connected with a student advisor, Aanchal Gupta, to learn more about the university. Her guidance and support really inspired me to apply to the program. She regularly scheduled calls with me to discuss the application process, while also frequently reaching out to me through email. Her dedication to helping me navigate the application demonstrated that Saba cares about their prospective students and emphasized that Saba is the right school for me. Thank you Aanchal!

I am one of the parents who paid for my sons tuition at Saba. He watched in disbelief at the failure rate in the first few semesters. Perhaps 1/3rd of the original class made it through med school. Saba also will increase rates with no notice. If you're not already at the top of your class, don't apply to Saba, you may leave with huge student debt that will cripple your earning years. My son did make it through with an incredible amount of stress.

Got accepted into the Fall 2026 MD Program! 🎉 Huge thanks to my admissions counselor, Katie (Catherine) Adams, for her incredible knowledge and support throughout this process. I’m so excited to start this next chapter of my journey and can’t wait to see what’s ahead. I’ll be back with an updated review once I complete the program. Best of luck to all incoming and prospective students. You’ve got this! 💪

I am currently in the process of applying to SABA medical school. Mr. Alhendy has been helping me out with the application process and he has been very helpful. Always willing to answer any of my questions and willing to speak over the phone. He has been very accommodating of my situation. It has been a great experience so far.

I am the school's first Graduate. I went on to do my Residency in Family Practice at University of Pittsburgh. I passed all of my national exams on the first sitting. I scored 2nd on the in-service exam while at Residency. I have been board-certified a couple of times. I have been a certified Medical Review Officer. I have been a member of the AAFP. Therefore, Saba University School of Medicine is a great school. You simply have to study hard and have the will to power. This is medical school. You must be in the upper tier of society intellectually to do very well. No one will hand you anything. You must have the innate intelligence and the drive to work hard. If you have all of this, you shall do fine ... and Saba University School of Medicine is a wonderful choice....
Jay M — Google review
I'm at the enrollment stage and my experience with Saba has been great so far. At the very first stages of the interview process, Mr. Anas Alhendy provided enough guidance and information that helped me pick Saba as my top choice. He also was kind enough to let me know what my strengths are and where to work on. Katie has also been very helpful, approachable and always available to answer any questions. The admission staff are quite organized. They make sure you don't miss out on any steps or deadlines.

SABA University School of Medicine deserves my five-star rating in the enrollment process. During my enrollment procedure, the staff of SABA provided me with wonderful service! Very considerate and patient. One individual who truly encouraged me, took the time to call, email and talk with me one on one was Anas Alheny. They made sure all my questions were answered with previse examples in relation to me. Having comfortable chats during a very intense part of my life. Thank you for making this transition easy and process swift.

I will give the SABA University School of Medicine personnel a five-star rating in the enrollment process. During my enrollment procedure, the staff of SABA provided me with wonderful service. One individual who truly encouraged me to finish my application while I was unsure of myself was Jonnariza Liabres. She calls emails and makes sure all questions are answered. Assistance Director of Admissions Emily Taber has been really helpful, making sure that all of your inquiries are fully addressed and swiftly returning callbacks. They ensure that you are on top of your application and that assignments are finished on schedule. Thank you for making this transition easy.
