The 50 best coffee shops and best cafes in Cork

This review is about sustainability only! 🙂 I’m so grateful to have found this coffee shop in Cork, and was especially pleased to see that you offer real, reusable mugs to customers who asked for them. That said, it seems that many customers in-house did not know about the available reusable mugs. Maybe there is more you can do to easily communicate this option to those who may be interested. Perhaps that means having barista‘s ask customers directly if they want a mug for here. Or maybe that means featuring real mugs on your social media, or somehow incentivizing or promoting the use of usable mugs, that people either bring on their own or borrow from you in house. By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish, and it would be wonderful to see waterfront cities, such as yours help everyday people be better to our environment. Thank you for your consideration, and for the delicious coffee!

It’s my last stop in Cork, but I’ll say it definitely not worth it! The coffee(Americano) is good, but they use paper cups for all customers, which is very not eco friendly. And one of their female staffs is very very rude. She rolled her eyes when I told her I wanna eat in rather than takeaway. I got a wrong flavor of my pastry, and it even tasted like raw dough… What a disappointing experience🙁

Quite disappointed. Looking for specialty coffee while traveling, this place was recommended. However, nothing about it is specialty coffee. No roast date on bean packages, limited info on origin; No latte art; Cocoa powder on top of the milk. Very bitter espresso extraction. Limited hygiene behind espresso machine. 2 stars because of the nicely decorated interior with the roast machine in the center and the (reasonably) friendly staff. Don’t come here if you‘re a coffee lover, you can get this kind of taste at any gas station vending machine.

Small cozy café with great coffee, a very friendly barista, and a really nice vibe. They opener earlier than other places and had some tasty cakes, croissants etc

I decided to grab a quick coffee here last week and was let down with the service. The red haired girl who served me was very snappy and rude. The coffee itself was nice but her attitude was very negative.

It's a lovely coffee house with great coffee and a friendly weitress, she made latte art for me! I can't wait to come back to taste their pastry. Edit: the pastries are tasty too Edit 2: I have tried the coffee both takeaway and in the shop. It's great either way

For some reason I had never been in this location, but popped in after lunch for a double espresso. It was delicious and the staff was very friendly. There is slightly more indoor seating here than at other locations I’ve been too. But not a ton. Lots of construction outside at the moment. But even without it, don’t expect parking. There is no car park to my knowledge. Great traditional coffee shop in Cork!

Really nice cozy cafe! Maximalist in the best possible way. Could benefit from a no laptop policy, given it is really small. Having two or three people on laptops takes up a lot of the space, and it isn’t really a ‘sit down and work for three hours’ type vibe anyway. Great coffee and appeltaart !

Cozy, local place for sitting or taking to go. Huge tea selection and a variety of sandwiches (including vegetarian ones 🙌🎉), and baked goods.

I had a really nice mocha , perfect for a rainy day. The place is small and cozy, which I liked. However, the service was a bit slow and disorganized, and the staff didn’t seem very friendly. Still, it’s a nice spot to relax with a good coffee.

We enjoyed a most pleasant hour today at this intriguing little spot. Went there for personal local history reasons, and found the place to be really hip and welcoming, with great coffee , tasty sausage rolls (sweet chilli) and nice staff. Great location on the quay with outdoor seating at the bridge opposite. Interesting notices and posters and a lucky encounter with a very engaging customer. Would definitely go back.

Such a nice place!! Very good service and a lovely ambiance. We spent a very good time there. Even got some gaelic lessons from one of the guests we ended up talking too. We loved Cork and we lived this place!

Great cup of coffee. Got it to go and it tasted amazing while sitting in Cork rush hour. Black Americano. What I liked is that they asked do you want a small or large, it’s the same amount of coffee just more water. Happy they clarified that for me. Very friendly staff. The pastries and food offerings looked very good, but didn’t partake this time. Liked the atmosphere and it looked like everyone was enjoying themselves in a coffeehouse kind of way. Also lots of seating outside along the river and road. It seems to be communal and shared amongst the many shops there? Maybe not. But seating outside if desired.

Great spot, had a lovely sausage roll and then very nice coffee cake and Chai latte. Only thing is the place is popular so it's often full. I went around 11 on a Monday and by 12 it was full up

Alchemy is a lovely and unique café in Cork — cozy, stylish, and full of character. I had breakfast there and really enjoyed it: the food was delicious, with several great vegan options available. The staff were friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. It’s also a popular spot among students, which gives the place a lively and youthful vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

One of the most delicious coffees in the city, the desserts are perfect. The barista is a true professional. The hall is very cozy with a cool design, and there is also a terrace.

Excellent coffee, their own branded roast, and the food offering is good too. It's a very cool place to be . Lots of customers all the time . Nice atmosphere and decor. We stayed around the corner whilst in Cork for a few days and it was our first stop every morning. It was the best coffee we found in town. I'd be really delighted to have this place as my local coffee shop.

It is my favourite coffee shop (and imo the best one) in Cork. The staff is the best. So lovely! The coffee is amazing. Always on point. They've got some bites if you're hungry (the chef/baker is amazing) and the sweets... 🤤 The sweets!!! That brownie is by far the best I've had around here. Some of the best coffee shop cakes in Cork for sure. Oh and the friendly atmosphere... Highly recommended! ❤️

SOMA Coffee in Cork is a reliably strong spot for great coffee, friendly service, and a laid-back vibe. The coffee is well-crafted and thoughtfully sourced, though consistency can dip slightly depending on who’s behind the bar. Service is warm and welcoming, but occasionally slows down during peak times. The space is stylish and relaxed, ideal for a casual meet-up or solo break, though it can get a bit cramped and noisy when busy. Overall, it’s a solid 4/5 across the board — a place you’ll return to, even if it’s not flawless.

The hot chocolate is to die for and the raspberry and white chocolate scone. I stopped in here with a group of friends and have been addicted since. I even got moody when they didn't have the scones as it's so good. It is very peaceful and I managed to finish an assignment in the coffee shop I legit want to go to town just to get the hot chocolate which I have done on a few occasions lol

We have visited here since it first opened. I find the coffee to be good and reliablely consistent. We like their hot chocolate. We like their selection of treats and goodies. They have gluten free options and vegan options. The staff are friendly and welcoming overall. Good for a quick chat. It is wheelchair accessible. It can be a bit crowded though during rush hours. We find it a bit dark. Sitting outside is pleasant enough.

Excellent coffee with beans from all over the world, from Ethiopia to Colombia. If you're looking for a great speciality coffee, this is the place for you. If you want to have a coffee, read a good book or write, this is also a great place. A coffee shop for everyone in Cork.

First coffee roaster of our trip and what a great experience it was! I tried their batch coffee, a medium roast Ethiopian, that got better with every sip. Needless to say, I left with a bag of beans! Plus, the staff members are very knowledgeable and friendly, and answered all the questions I had. There’s a good amount of seating but this place gets pretty packed.

Ordered an extra shot extra hot latte with a piece of carrot cake and a mango granola yogurt just before lunchtime. The coffee was absolutely delicious, as was the other food. We were able to find a table inside, and the guy serving up the drinks was friendly and welcoming. The extra shot could have had something to do with it, but as an aficionado (I have a Rocket at home), I think I have to say this was the best coffee I received on my visit to Cork, and I have had several from many of the third wave outlets. Full points to you guys.

Wonderful place that I often visit becuase of its warm atmosphere and good food. A little pricy, but the food is worth it. 4.95 for iced strawberry matcha, not bad. Has phone charger ports available upstairs

Nice location down a small street. We sat outside and it was nice to see people walking past. We got the fry and the French toast. Fry was nice, French toast wasn't really French toast more of a cake with fruit and mascapone but it was nice. Coffee was good.

Breakfast was quite big and the black pudding was really nice because I usually don't like it. First time in here. €16.50 for breakfast is a lot, it's just too much. €4 for a large Americano? I didn't ask for large and I wasn't offered an alternative and also it just wasn't very large and mostly gone before breakfast was finished. Look, there was plenty of food and I wasn't going to be hungry for a while after this but its just too much money! Could have got cheaper elsewhere (lots of places nearby) but I like to try new places. I wouldn't pay that again.

Food was well presented but tasted pretty average and unseasoned. I got up to ask for salt and the staff were just chatting amongst themselves ignoring me despite clearly seeing me waiting as there were no other customers at the till area. Found better breakfast/brunch elsewhere in Cork. Not bad but certainly not great.

Lovely place for a breakfast. I go here very often and it never disappoints. Food is great and portions are very good. Staff is always nice and polite, they serve food very fast even when they are busy. I would highly recommend trying it out since they have a little of something for everyones taste.

Stopped in for brunch. Delicious and balanced nutritious options. Highly recommend the Duke breakfast plate. The blue colors were calming and the booth was comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I really like the cups in this cafe. The color of the tables is wood yellow, which looks great in photos! My friend and I chatted all afternoon on the second floor again. Since I have a lot of free time during the holidays, I learned tarot cards and tried it for her. I hope we can graduate smoothly in the new year.

Very nice coffee but quite pricey. The coffee cup on display was definitely bigger than the one we got. We didn’t get food but the pastries looked very tasty.

I like to visit here every so often for a coffee. I like to see what beans they are roasting and have available for sale. The team members are friendly enough. We notice that it gets busy. Sitting outside when the sun is out ideal. Sitting inside is perfect on those rainy days. I find the spot good for quick meetings and dates.

Great little cafe. Loved all the natural light in the cafe. Had a oat matcha latte ( vegan) was creamy and tasty. Husband had a white Americano and enjoyed it.

Clean and calm spot in the vibrant city centre, beautiful place to get out of dodge from the bad weather and great study spot. Great gluten-free brownies and above all amazing coffee by far best I've had in the city. Staff are super kind and friendly and happy to help with alot of accommodations if there and super attentive.

Coffees always good here and the service is super nice and quick despite always being busy. Staff in particular are lovely, especially girl with auburn hair and one with bleached eyebrows!! Normally get sick of coffee places after a while but this has been a happy regular for me for a while now :)

Basic coffee shop serving the usual mix of coffee, scones, sausage rolls etc. Table service, polite staff. Coffee is good quality. I give this 3/5 because it's relatively expensive and most of all because the seating is uncomfortable, cramped and in need of renovation. A cafe shop should be a place you are comfortable spending time in. I understand furniture needs to be robust especially in Ireland, but a couple of cushions would make a big difference.

Really great breakfast meals with unique flavor combinations. Would be even better with eggs! Would recommend and would certainly go back again.

I sincerely value the Bookshelf. The Bookshelf in of itself is a bit of a rebel. They buy German roasted beans from the Barn. Their espresso machine "The Black Eagle," makes a consistent cup of coffee throughout the day. The staff do their best to insure that you have a memorable experience. Each time that I visit I am greeted with the same warm smiles and welcoming. They know that I have an espresso and that I am willing and eager to learn about coffee. Their brunches are amazing. The new renovations have really brightened up the place.

This restaurant is a beautiful place to eat in the heart of Cork city, either if you just want to enjoy a weekend brunch or have a nice dinner out. Their menu is extremely varied and caters for most people. And every week they have a lunch special that usually brings the taste from Asia, Thailand, China, etc to Ireland. They have a great brunch menu with lovely homemade pancakes, omelettes, and avocado toast among other delicious choices. They have also the option to order homemade granola and porridge for take away so you can enjoy a healthy and tasteful breakfast while in the office or on your way to work. We are regular customers as we love the coffee and brunch there, but this time we wanted to try the new evening tapas menu. We were very impressed with the selection as there were plenty options to choose from Mexican tortilla chips with Vegan dips option to garlic prawns or jackfruit burgers. For two people I would recommend to ask for 4 to 5 tapas, and that will be plenty food. You will definitely feel full. As for the desserts the photos speak for themselves, amazing. They were so lovely we didn't know if to eat them or contemplate them. The Head chef Eli has magical hands. The price is a little higher than the previous evening menu they had, but it is worthy if you want to try something different and food was beautiful. If you want to get an idea of the food they serve, have a look at its Instagram account @thebookshelfcoffee as they are ver active there, and everything you will see it is honestly what you will find in the restaurant. The staff is so friendly you will feel like home, and they welcome you with a smile. Always. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, perfect for a date or to enjoy a casual dinner with friends.

One of my local favourites. The staff is pleasant and nice! All of them are into their coffees and when asking for recommendations they are extremely helpful and have great knowledge. You need help with your brewing? Ask the staff for some tips and tricks :)

The cushions are dirty, the seating is dirty, the foyer into the toilets is dirty. The table was sticky. This cafe is trying to hard to be cool and and has forgotten the basics of staff training, poor management.

Food came out cold despite having to wait for it. The cheese in the stuffed croissant wasn’t melted and way too much pickle on. The table was dirty and when asked for it to be cleaned, the guy got a napkin and tried to wipe the stock jam off the table and left a mark. The cutlery was sticky. The coffee was tepid so not all that enjoyable after the long wait for food. Cramped seating also.

Only had coffee, it was good. Nice looking small coffee place, excellent background music, nice vibe in here. Pro Palestinian flags so obvious anti war and anti genocide sentiment in play. Worth a visit.

Whenever I stop by this coffee shop, I always encounter rude baristas. They look constantly angry, serve people with a cold, stone face, and act as if customers are disturbing them just by ordering. Honestly, it’s completely unprofessional and makes the whole place feel unwelcoming.

Nice cafe, but it’s a shame they close in the middle of the afternoon at weekends. Myself and some other customers were being turned away at closing time. I had to go to one of the (many) other coffee shops in town, which were all still bustling with customers.

Ordered a cappuccino and completely scalded my mouth as the barista had heated the milk to a crazy temperature. Very painful and dangerous. Also just a general bad vibe from the place. Avoid like the plague

Cafe above The English Market. It was fairly busy when we arrived but staff were friendly and found us a table quickly. Some people arrived after us and requested a seat with a view over the market from balcony, which was accommodated. Ordered the Market cooked breakfast. Food was served promptly and was good quality.

Cool place to eat at the English market, the dishes vibe middle segment restauranty, were tasty, and made with local ingredients. Make sure to reserve, since it gets busy during lunch. Nice pear cider, but it can be out of stock. Staff was quite friendly despite the stressful situation, as I said it gets busy.

Husband and I stopped by for a stroll through the English Market and decided to walk upstairs for a quick breakfast at the Farmgate Cafe. We both had the French Toast and it was delightful. We were promptly waited on and the food was out fast as well.

Excellent Oat Milk Flat whites (both single and double shot variants) and homemade scone was super tasty. Staff really friendly and the buzz and vibe of the terrace above the English Market makes it a definite visit for food or coffee

The Farmgate Café downstairs sells a glorious chewy dense chocolatey smooth brownie that you absolutely cannot miss! Affordable and fenomenal, almost like a giant chocolate truffle that melts in your mouth- to die for.

The food was good and the guy who served us was friendly. However, the plump woman with red hair really ruined everything. She didn’t seem to want to respond to me and appeared extremely condescending and I felt utterly disgusted by her attitude as a server! She should have been more friendly and responsive.

I had a very nice breakfast here, very cool decor. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They have loads of choice, I had the full Irish, there was a lot there. The American pancakes looked very nice also.

Omg! The food/coffee, the service, the atmosphere - everything about this place - was awesome! The best food we had our whole time in Ireland! We ordered the Let’s get Smashed with side of chorizo and potatoes to share. Was sooo good we went back two days running and the manager/owner was the friendliest host we met - 10/10. A must visit!

Best cookies in Cork! I love the pizookies too, I got one for Christmas and my birthday and they were divine. Absolutely delicious. Lovely, friendly staff, best bakery in Cork in my opinion.

Nice place,opposite train station in cork.Stuff was ok, place is quiet busy,waiter was hangover for sure lol. About the food I have mix feelings,the place was recommended by a friend. First of all minimum details missing from the table like salt and pepper and napkins…I was surprised to be honest…and intrigued on the same time,because this place is high spoken. Eggs were fine cooked,soft as it should be,but no tasty.food on the place was plain ,although looked alright,but,no seasoning and,the hollandaise was not at the greatest quality either. 22,50 for eggs florentine and chips… quiet expensive,in my opinion . 26,50 with dessert and no coffee . Will I be back?Maybe,to try their coffee because I didn’t this time and I love coffee. Thanks guys you are doing great jobs but maybe more attention to details will make the difference.

Had a great experience at this restaurant this morning. The food was absolutely fabulous & the staff could genuinely not have been nicer. I ordered a takeaway & was given a table to sit at while waiting, and received my order with cutlery & plenty of napkins for taking on the train. The waiter (whose name I didn’t catch) gave a complimentary brownie due to having to wait for a while as the restaurant was very busy. Top class service, top class food & ideally located for those travelling by train especially. Would recommend without a doubt. Thank you so such a positive experience & thank you to the lovely man who served me! 🩷

I got the brownie sundae…. Omg. It was moist and had Nutella swirled in it, it was fudgy and perfect. And I’m from Chicago which is the birth place of brownies (fun fact lol). What sucks now is I keep thinking about it and I want one everyday since. I’ll be back but hopefully not too often 🥲

Good food, good location, great service, what more could you want? This café/restaurant is located in the courtyard of a former monastery, accessible via some rather steep stairs. But climbing them is worth it, because Good Day Deli is a true gem. The small and modern hut offers indoor and outdoor seating, and as it was a sunny day, sitting outside in the sun was the best possible option. The brunch menu is rather small, but I'd say you'll definitely find something here. I opted for the pancakes that come with a hibiscus poached pear and coconut mascarpone. Not a big coconut fan but in combination and moderation it was good, and the pancakes were great. Wasn't too impressed with the price of their coffee, though. I was recommended to try this place by locals and it was the very first thing I did after arriving in Cork. Go and try their brunch, it's really an experience!

Nano Nagle Place was a really pleasant surprise. It’s this calm little spot right in the middle of Cork, with a beautiful garden, peaceful atmosphere, and a great mix of history and modern design. The restaurant there is cozy and stylish with big windows, lots of natural light, and a laid-back vibe. It’s quit a pricy place, but really nice one. Great for a quiet break, especially if you're already visiting the museum or just want a chill place to eat in Cork without the usual noise. Definitely worth dropping by if you’re in the area.

Good Day Deli is a modern and stylish restaurant tucked away in a beautiful hidden garden, which gives the place a truly special and relaxing atmosphere. It’s open for breakfast, brunch and lunch — making it a perfect spot at any time of the day. I visited for breakfast and was impressed by the excellent vegan options available. The dishes were beautifully presented, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The service was friendly and attentive, and even the desserts were delicious. A charming location with great food and a welcoming vibe — definitely a place not to miss when in Cork.

If you are willing to spend a bit more than the usual price for a breakfast, you can have a truly delicious experience here. Like chef-level type of experience. Not to mention that the place is spacious and luminous, the views are fantastic, the service is top-notch, and you can have a lovely walk through the gardens (and the nun's cemetery too). And learn some history.

Elegant cafe in the grounds of Nano Nagle Place. I had a delicious Buddha Bowl, the weather was sunny, the gardens lush and green, the service excellent! I’m an Aussie, so I do wonder if the “Kiwi Lamington”, though!!

We had a beautiful lunch to celebrate my daughters graduation. Everyone in our party of 10 really enjoyed the beautiful fresh, organic food. Great vegetarian and vegan choices. Service was excellent. A gorgeous restaurant, set in the grounds of the Nano Nagle centre. Great atmosphere aswell. Will definitely be back again. Well done everyone involved.

"A place that inspires, feeds and transforms lives." The food displays high-level techniques and has incredible flavours. Wonderful surroundings with a beautiful garden and flowers. Sun Tzu once said "The water that flows under the rocks is purer than the water from the clouds." I don't know what he meant by that, but this place is gorgeous and makes the best breakfasts and brunches in Cork City.

Disappointing. Coffee was good but waited 20 mins for my poached eggs on sourdough, meanwhile at least 5 people who arrived after me were served their food. When the food did eventually arrive (without apologies for the lateness), the poached eggs were hard.

Honestly do not recommend this place. I was hungry and I couldn't even eat the food fully. I went it to the till it took the 2 servers a while as it seemed like neither of them wanted to serve me. I ordered a sandwich and a cup of tea. The tea was fab but that is the most easy thing. Now the sandwich I think it was the flying bacon oh Jesus christ. I asked for ciabatta bread the bread I got i don't know what it was but it was rock hard I don't know if the sandwich was supposed to be hot or cold. As the cheese was melted at the edges and the outside tasted warmish while the middle was cold, the ingredients didn't feel fresh like the tomato in it felt like it had been in the sandwich for a while. It tasted disgusting and left a bad taste in my mouth even a few minutes after. I couldn't eat it. The place looks okay it just needs a few improvements

My top 5 places to eat in Cork during the day. Today was a big disappointment though when I decided to sample the hot dish special’Kerala Chicken curry’.instead of a salad. The dish was soup with chicken and rice. The portion size was smaller than usual. . I wouldn’t recommend this in the otherwise amazing quality and well-priced menu (not as a curry anyway).

Delicious hearty food, lovely staff and good music 😁🎶 plus, fair prices. Brunch + tea was about €12.50. I got the avocado feta toast. Very yummy.

A great stop for early birds and jet-lagged travelers, as they open an hour or two earlier than most places! The staff were very kind, atmosphere comfortable, and the food was flavorful. Highly recommend the toasts if you need to fuel-up for a busy day.

Delicious spot for some breakfast, brunch, and lunch. I've been wanting to go in for a long time, and I am so glad we finally visited. Great breakfast options, steering away from your usual full irish, fresh produce and amazing, well cooked eggs with just the right amount of seasoning and not too wet or too dry. Delicious coffee and the Organic Açaí Smoothie in a bowl is such a nice touch! Prices are also very competitive at just €7 for the portions you receive is amazing!

Excellent coffee and nice views across the river from their covered outdoor seating make this a good Cork COVID summer outside pick. The nearby road is nice and quiet so you can have a conversation easily. The menu has a decent amount of veggie options. There is a bathroom but wheelchair users might find it a tight squeeze.

Really good coffee and the food is great too. Atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is very friendly. Every so often they switch up the paintings or photography on the walls which is a nice touch. You can get coffee ground here and they sell reusable cups too. Not too expensive.

First lunch out after a long wait, we were very satisfied. Veggie wrap was fab but our server Alice stole the show, super friendly, very accomodating and a great knowledge of the menu! Coffees were also ZING.

The Union Grind is a fabulous place to chill and relax. The view from the big windows is fantastic. They have soups, sandwiches, and a variety desserts to choose from and eat. They are wheelchair accessible and friendly. The bathrooms are wheelchair accessible. There is no wheelchair accessible parking.

Great place for great coffee , small meal. Has very nice atmosphere. Service is very good , very popular opens for your early morning coffee fix .

Great coffe, they had two roasts a dark and a medium. We had a flat white and one Americano, really enjoyed it. Nice small specialty coffee shop.

Stopped by this coffee shop this morning for a cortado and something to go — and wow! The cortado was absolute perfection, and the almond croissant was just as impressive. To top it off, they were playing Radiohead, which gave the place such a great vibe. Highly recommend if you’re looking for fantastic coffee and fresh-baked goods!

I visited the café this morning (04/05) and had a disappointing experience with the customer service. When my friend asked if they had almond milk, the lady behind the counter rolled her eyes. Then, when I asked for a regular latte, she glared at me. That kind of attitude really doesn’t belong in customer service

Hands down, the best meal of our 10 day trip. This was a recommendation from our Airbnb host. We didn't have reservations, but 2 seats at bar opened up and we nabbed them! We had a great time chatting with the bartenders and the folks sitting near us. The service was great but the Food was incredible! I had their corned beef and cabbage. I would go back if ever in Cork again! You won't be disappointed.

I wanted to try a proper **bacon and cabbage** outside of Dublin, and Market Lane absolutely delivered — it was fantastic. The bacon was beautifully tender, served over creamy mashed potatoes, accompanied by cabbage and a smooth carrot purée. The flavours were comforting but elegant. My wife ordered **fish and chips**, and the fish was very fresh, light, and perfectly fried. It came with hand-cut chips, mushy peas, and a tasty tartar sauce — classic, but really well done. The atmosphere was lovely and lively. Despite it being **Jazz Festival weekend** and the city being packed, we were seated fairly quickly even without a reservation, which was a pleasant surprise. The **bartender was super polite**, adding to the great service overall. Highly recommended for delicious Irish food, great energy, and efficient service.

Compared to the other places we’ve eaten while visiting Ireland this was towards the bottom. Prime location in the center of Cork. Nice place to stop by if you’re walking around the area.

Market Lane was by our hotel and the menu looked good, so we decided to check it out one night for dinner. It was a Tuesday, just after 7 and it was packed inside. Luckily, there was an outside table for the three of us, and they were able to accommodate a stroller. For drinks, I was looking forward to a Guinness, but they didn't have. So instead, I had the Angel stout, which was very smooth. It was a bit darker and a little more bitter than Guinness, but still good. For food, we had: -Chicken liver pâté, spiced plum chutney with sourdough toast - not sure if I really loved this one but the sourdough toast was good Glenbeigh mussels steamed in white wine, cream, celery and herbs with crusty baguette - I don't normally like anything with celery but I didn't taste it here, so it was fine. I liked the mussels. This kind was small, which I prefer to the giant ones found in the U.S. -Pan roast Ballycotton monkfish, garlic ratte potatoes, roast pepper purée, lemon salted green beans, smoked pancetta and almond crumb - the fish was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh, but the green beans could have used a bit more cooking time -Sirloin Steak (10oz) - my husband got this one since he wanted to try the beef in Ireland, and it didn't disappoint. Their steaks are served with mushrooms, house chips, shallots and choice of: peppercorn and brandy cream, whipped garlic butter or roasted pepper chimichurri. He picked the peppercorn and brandy, which was nice I really liked that they had a kids' menu and that there were no chicken tenders or pizza to be found on there. Instead, there were dishes like shepherd's pie, pasta Bolognese, and roasted chicken breast. They even had a baby bowl, which we ended up ordering for my 8-month old. It was a huge bowl of mashed potatoes, finely shredded chicken, with tiny bits of soft carrots. She loved it! It also came with a side of gravy, but we used that for ourselves. It tasted similar to the peppercorn and brandy cream that came with the steak. I really appreciated this menu item because I never really see baby food on restaurant menus, and this allowed her to be a part of our dining experience.

I visited Café Molly in Cork with my family and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the staff were so kind, and the coffee was amazing. I had a café latte, a cappuccino, an egg tart, and a homemade cookie — everything was so delicious! I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

What a place… only in Cork for two nights and we visited Paradiso tonight… we were blown away by the food, service and ambiance. The restaurant has the perfect balance of being fine dining, but still relaxed and not at all pretentious. We had six courses and they were all incredible… would happily come back to Cork just to eat here again. I’m not vegetarian but would rate the food here higher than 99% of restaurants that do serve meat. Would highly recommend for vegetarians and carnivores alike.

A tasting menu of six courses was superb, reminiscent of the Michelin-rated Anglo, formerly in Farringdon. Every course was felicitous, well-judged, full of various flavours and beautifully presented. The courses were served at the right pace and every one of the em was a pleasure. We were comfortably full by the end, and very impressed with the chef’s ingenuity.

My friend and I had made a reservation online. She arrived before me and was warmly welcomed, just as I was when I arrived. The staff were very friendly, explaining all the dishes and the wine pairings. They also accepted that I don't drink alcohol (many times I get strange looks because of it, so it was so nice that they smiled and accept it and make sure I always have enough water, thank you so much that!). The food was very, very delicious; I've rarely eaten so well! The restaurant was nearly empty, when we were done and they were about to close but the waitress was super kind. She chat with us and showed us all the different cookbooks and answered all our questions. All in all, an absolutely fantastic evening with delicious food. I'd love to come back when I'm in Cork and Irecommend it to all my friends and family! Thanks for this amazing evening!

Beautiful little restaurant with friendly staff. Absolutely 5 star experience. The vegan tasting menu was stunning and the wine pairing really elevated the whole experience. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and professional and gave us interesting insights into each dish and wine pairing. If you're looking for a fine dining experience I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this fabulous restaurant.

Franciscan Well Brewery – absolute perfection in Cork! What a fantastic spot! The atmosphere was buzzing, the staff were friendly, and everything just hit the mark. The pizza was so good we couldn’t resist going back for seconds — crispy, flavorful, and fresh from the oven. The beers were top-notch too, perfectly brewed and full of character. It’s the kind of place you could happily spend an afternoon (or evening!) just soaking up the vibes. A must-visit in Cork! 🍕🍺

They don't serve food (there is a pizzeria for that) but they have a big selection of draught handcrafted beers. The staff is super friendly and they let us taste a couple of beers before choosing one. We had to restrain ourselves to not drink too much, but in other circumstances this place is worth a loooong visit to taste everything. The place itself was very nice with a lot of Halloween decorations and it shows how much love the owners put inside every detail of this pub.

Did the brewery tour with a lovely girl Sìna, said it was her first week doing the tours but she did great and even chatted to us about other things like the pub being haunted and beers to try in the area. Highly recommend!!!

If you’re in Ireland and you’re trying to forget what you just paid for a rental car, may I suggest Franciscan Well Brewery. The bartender is such a lovely lady with an Irish accent that makes you want to bring her back home with you. They let you sample all of their beers until you find just the right one. Might I suggest the Rebel Red. Couple of them and soon you’ll forget all about the insurance you had to buy from the rental car company. The vibe was perfect too. There is outside seating where you can actually have a conversation and hear. And to top it off, Pompeii Pizza is right there. Probably the second best pizza I’ve had in my life!!! So quit him hawing around and get yourself over there! You won’t be sorry!

I'm dying of jealousy writing this comment because this cafe has become my favorite place. The food, the tea, the coffee, the beer, the service are 10/10000. Everything here is inexplicable, it's out of this world. Everything here is good, everything here is wonderful. I went here every day in a row in Cork. The Apple Spice tea is wonderful. Please try it. Everything is made here from the heart. I love this place. My friend and I call it Grandma's house because it evokes warmth and good things! I love it here!

I would probably come here more often as they have really nice coffee and seating and it is very central. However, it sometimes gets very busy and it seems the place could then do with more staff as you have to wait quite long for your coffee. Also and maybe as a result of the previous mentioned 'rush hours', I was told last time, they serve takeaway cups only from a certain point of the day (it was 4 or 5pm) even if you stay inside. This is kind of the reversed way of what I thought we would be heading towards with being more aware of our environment and waste. I hope this will not become too common in Cork's coffee shops and elsewhere.

The place is comfortable, providing a good experience to have a coffee. The coffee is usually good but it varies according to the staff. However, it is disappointing being charged more without any warning. I mean it is a customer right to get to know the right price of products being purchased. Apparently the Cork branch at Oliver Planket has forgotten about this. I bought a pack of biscuits and I was charged 5 cents more two days ago. Today I bought a cappuccino and I was charged more 10 cents. If the price has been updated, It should be informed to customers. I would definetly appreciate to know exactly the price of products I purchase.

The coffee was excellent — as expected from Brazilian beans, it’s hard to go wrong with such quality. The lemon cake was delightful, perfectly balanced in flavor, and the panini de mozzarella was also very well executed. From a gastronomic point of view, everything was on point. However, the service left much to be desired. There was a noticeable lack of warmth and attentiveness. In my five years working as a barista, I’ve never seen staff so disengaged — no greeting, no smiles, and an overall atmosphere that felt unwelcoming. I understand we all carry personal challenges, but professionalism in hospitality requires that we do not bring those burdens into our work. There are so many people eager to work in this industry, and customers expect not only good food and coffee but also a pleasant human connection. A simple “good morning” and a genuine smile can elevate the entire experience and make the excellent coffee and food shine even more. With more attention to service and guest interaction, this place could truly stand out as exceptional.

I have ordered pistachio and salted caramel Frappe. It didn’t taste or look as Frappe at all, just mixed coffee and milk. I asked a friend to taste it, just to check and she had same comments. I tried not to make a scene, and spoke to the barista on the side about the taste. They answered with I made it as it is in the recipe. In other words, that’s what we can offer here. I didn’t like the experience, I would say I won’t be coming here anymore. I paid 12 euros for this (one for me and one for my friend).

I had a classic americano, nothing special. Coffee tasted really plain and cheap, without any proper flavour. The croissant and other sweet pastries tasted like something from Tesco store

We did a Barista course with Aaron, and it was definitely worth the value! The small group classes allowed us to actually learn and practice as much as we wanted, which we truly appreciated. We’ll definitely recommend it to someone interested in the coffee industry and looking to get started somewhere :)

Very few places in Cork where you can genuinely purchase quality coffee. There are a handful of good producers and roasters in Cork. This is definitely one of the best if you don't want the acrid tastes all too common amongst Cork cafes. This cafe forces the others to up their game.

Nice small coffee shop with a small but cosy sitting area. Good music playing in the background, toilets are clean and the service and Coffee are excellent. Coffee such a dark creamy colour before I put in some milk. You just know it's good before you even taste it.

I really love their coffee. Always delicious, always a friendly service. And I love to support a local business, however I’m dropping a star because today it cost me €4.40 for an oat milk cappuccino, that’s €1 more than a lot of other places in Cork. I just can’t afford to spend that much on a coffee. I will go here again as a treat but in general I can get delicious coffee elsewhere for cheaper. Other than that I couldn’t fault the place.

It was a good experience. This is a great brunch in town. Our dishes, the open chicken sandwich, the Irish Benedict, and the chocolate and cranberry French toast were delicious. I highly recommend this place if you want to be sure of a really good option for lunch or brunch in Cork. The value for money was suitable.

One of the better meals we ate in Ireland. Staff were friendly and helpful, they easily accommodated our kid with a high chair and kids menu with crayons, and the food was delicious.

I was hungry and wanted a basic breakfast. Liberty Grill was busy but they had a nice table available by the window. I ordered scrambled eggs with sourdough bread and tea. The eggs were good, the sourdough bread was nice with some butter and the tea was amazing. The service was great and quick. The tea was brought to me right away. The food took a little while to arrive but drinking the tea by itself was nice. The music being played was soul and R&B not to soft and not too loud just right to enjoy my food. I will definitely come back for more food here.

Based on TripAdvisor's recommendation, my wife and I visited Liberty Grill for a special occasion, and it exceeded our expectations. The dishes were outstanding, the service was warm and attentive, and the whole evening felt memorable. Easily one of the best dining experiences in Cork!

We went on a team night out and the place and atmosphere of this place is class. It might look very small at the outside but very big on the inside.Their servers was very approachable and accommodating as well. Food was ok for me. I would say my expectations were a little bit not met. For a 30-40 euro steak, I would have expected that the steak is at least seasoned which was not. The sharing platter as well was a little bit small for me. I expected at least a couple of meats and more cheese on a meat and cheese board but as you can see on the picture that’s their sharing board and you can see on the menu how much that is. My teammates enjoyed their veggie board and they were delighted with the taste. Their desert was great as well. Overall still a good experience. Just get your wallets ready as food can be pricey.

Poor experience overall. Very loud, dark venue. Service fine but nothing special. Food very disappointing. Fish cake starter tastes frozen, bavette tiny portion, poor quality meat. Chips taste like they’re from a chipper and supposed to come with broccoli and came with ONE piece of tender stem broccoli. No steak knife given. Cauliflower main is absolutely tiny, should be a side/small plate. Desserts mediocre. Not worth a visit in my opinion.

We stumbled on this restaurant after not being able to get into a different one. It was a great find! The food was incredible, the staff was amazing, and they were extremely kid-friendly! They provided us with a great experience on a busy evening, getting us in quickly even though we did not have a reservation.

Expected more, however it was a good experience. The bartender, who happens to be our waitress as well, was polite and helpful. We had the crab arancini (not excited about those), the pork belly (good!), The stuffed mushrooms (good!), The duck salad (highly recommend!!!). Extensive cocktails and wines on the menu. Place was a bit empty but the atmosphere, the setting was very welcoming! I would recommend it!

Our experience at Ichigo was outstanding. We arrived pretty early in the evening on a rainy night, and were immediately seated in a cozy back dining room. It was very difficult to choose from both the regular printed menu and the chalkboard menu, but we ended up with 4 delightful dishes - a duck starter that was phenomenal, fried rice balls (massive and delicious), pork katsu udon (one of the specials) that was one of the best dishes we ate on our month long trip around Europe, and tempura shrimp with a very flavorful dashi broth. The short but thoughtful wine list yielded a nice Sicilian white, and we left very full and very happy. So glad we headed out into rain for this wonderful dinner!

I’ve been a loyal customer since the original Michelin-starred Ichigo Ichie, and I’ve returned six times since it transitioned to a bistro. Sadly, I have to say the experience has become consistently disappointing — especially in terms of service. The food is fine — average at best — but my expectations have always been shaped by the excellence of Miyazaki, the owner’s other restaurant, which continues to deliver exceptional food and truly warm, professional service. At Ichigo Ichie Bistro, however, the service is consistently cold, inattentive, and at times even rude. For a restaurant at this price point, that’s simply unacceptable — I’ve received much better treatment in far more casual places. What happened tonight made me finally write this review. When I politely pointed out that there was a bug in my wine, the staff dismissed it as “sediment.” When I asked for a fresh glass, it was served with visible tissue paper residue on the rim. When I raised that concern, the server responded with an eye roll, which completely ruined our evening. I’ve tried to give this place many chances out of respect and past loyalty — especially as a regular at Miyazaki. But unfortunately, tonight made it clear that the real issue isn’t the wine — it’s the attitude of the staff. I truly hope the team reflects on this. Cork deserves better from a restaurant with this heritage. (upload some of the photos I took before)

This restaurant is an airless casual wine & soba bar, not a fine-dining, high-end Japanese restaurant. No sashimi, sushi, or really anything that we were expecting. I reserved for the "main bar counter," about a month in advance as it is advertised as a chef's counter. It is instead a server station/overflow space where all we witnessed was three gals struggling to pour a pint. Menus are cheap paper with a long (tiny printed) specials board listed on a chalkboard. It is recommended to take a photo of these specials on your phone & "zoom in." We were not walked through anything despite saying it was our first time. I have never been asked to take a photo of something at an upscale restaurant in my life. Service was poor. Food was boring and expensive. For a bistro with a long list of specials, I would have expected to hear about a few of them. And for a wine bar, maybe a pairing could have been suggested. I would have rather spent our night in Cork anywhere else.

Too bad we missed the Michelin era of this restaurant, but in its current incarnation it still is undoubtedly one of the best Japanese restaurants in Ireland. I'm not a big cold soba fan normally, but now I'm a convert. The duck was sublime, and the cherry on top was a beautiful matcha panna cotta to finish the dinner. We will come back to Cork, specifically for this restaurant. This is in my top 3 Japanese restaurants in Ireland, in league with Matsukawa in Dublin and Wa Sushi in Galway.

Before visiting Ireland, I did research on restaurants in Cork and I booked this Japanese restaurant weeks ahead because it is recommended by the Michelin guide, has positive reviews on Google and the food photos look great too. I have visited Michelin starred omakase restaurants in Tokyo, Kyoto and Fukuoka, and I would always book counter seating as it is usually where the actions take place. With this idea, I booked counter seating for me and my companion. Upon arrival, we were surprised to see that there was no chef behind the bar, not even a bartender… the chef came out twice but avoided eye-contact with us, which I found odd as it would be seen as rude in Japan. When we were given the menu, we were surprised not to see any sushi/ sashimi on it because we saw it in the photos on Google. My friend asked the waitress and she said they used to serve it, but now they no longer serve it. From the reviews and photos, we were misled to believe that it is a fine-dining restaurant, so it was a disappointment to see only soba/ udon/ donburi, all the standard fare in most Japanese restaurants. We ordered a duck dish to share, which was quite big but slightly chewy. My tempura soba was ok but the broth was too salty for my taste. However, my companion was very upset about her Karaage don because she said that her rice was soggy. Rice is crucial in Japanese cuisine, so this is basic stuff, and yet they did not get it right. The ambience was not lively even on Sat eve, though the staff were friendly, it was a disappointing dinner for us as we had high hopes for this place. Out of all the restaurants we visited around Ireland in 2 weeks, this was one of our least favourite and I think people need to check out their recent photos/ reviews rather than the ones left 5-6 years ago as it has changed immensely since.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming honestly perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee. The two lovely girls working there were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The coffee was excellent and everything felt cozy and inviting. Definitely a place I’d recommend and will be visiting again

Wow, the coffee service at this place is truly impressive! Coming from the US where good coffee is a necessity, we are used to fast-paced and often impersonal service, but the staff at this coffee shop was extremely nice, friendly, and attentive. They even remembered us! The display of food was beautiful, and the freshly made subs and pastries were delicious. The atmosphere was great. Keep in mind that this is a small coffee shop, but it's definitely worth a visit!

Outstanding in every way! One of those rare establishments I wish I could give more that 5-🌟. Newly expanded cafe offers delectable and innovative culinary creations. Roast watermelon transformed into a vegan tuna sushi for a flavour packed poke delight. I was admittedly skeptical but glad I didn't bow to prejudice. Staff is lovely and their coffee is as good as ever.

We were here yesterday as we were visiting my mother Who is a patient in the mercy hospital. Great little find! Friendly staff, very quick service. So cosy and just an ideal little find.

I had the coffee here and it was bitter I think they added too much coffee. I can drink strong coffee but this was bitter and adding sugar didn't help it. It is overpriced and not really high standard and a few of the staff look depressed there but the staff were nice I just felt bad for them. If it's all of them looking a bit sad it's usually the way they are treated by management, i know from personal experience. Edit: Excuse me but I don't care. 1 I don't go to Ucc, 2 This is my review of your café I have given other places 1 star your not special. 3 if you are going to threaten defamation you have to prove that what people say are false. 4 I never knew about you threatening a staff with a weapon allegedly now I regret ever going to your cafe as that is disgusting to have that as a rumour. This comment you made makes you seem deranged. I never knew about the rumours I stopped in and had bad coffee which is what I put down and your staff seemed sad how would you know if you ain't there. A lot of expensive places for breakfast around Cork city. The sausage roll deal here was good value. More than enough to keep you going for a few hours and any coffee with that for €7.90 (I’m sure) Claiming the best sausage roll in Cork was the main draw. Well, it was the best I’ve ever had and a fair size too. Not scabby with the sausage filling like many other places. Highly recommended 👍🏼

Seriously best cafe in cork!!! We only discovered this was around the corner from us and have been here every second day. The Açai bowls 🥰🥰🥰 are incredible. And the sweets so fresh and yum the cookies and cinnamon rolls. We love Neil and this cafe. 1000/10.

This place used to be a 5 out of 5 for me but things have changed a lot. Not sure if it's a new owner,manager or chef but quality is gone down. Prices have gone up by about 30% but Tots no longer come with your order, the tots are not what they used to be either. What used to be the best steak sandwich in Cork was removed from the menu (who's bright idea was that) and it's basically 14 euro for a fancy ham and cheese toasty now and the other new sandwiches are basic are overpriced. Staff are still nice and coffee is good though. Disappointing to see it fall off so much though, used to go out of our way to call in when in Cork but will be avoiding it going forward. Much better value for Money around the place nowadays.

Staff are brilliant and friendly, food comes quickly but price nowhere near reflects what you get. Stopped doing tater tots as a side with the sandwiches which is a big reason we used to come. Definitely used to be better.

A truly awful experience today. I ordered a large latte at just before 5pm today. As I was ordering, the server went off to do something else as I was ordering with him face-to-face. I thought it was a bit rude. Ok, he came back 15 seconds later and I completed my order. 10 minutes later and I still hadn't received my later. Then a worker asked me what I had ordered and I responded with, you don't know? After I clarified it was a large latte, I asked him where it was. He responded by saying, he was screaming but nobody answered so we dumped your latte. I told him, that was simply a lie. Nobody screamed or even said to anyone, a large latte was ready for pickup. I told the guy, I was standing a metre away from the counter for 10 minutes and that was simply untrue. Obviously, they forgot my order. Instead of being honest, they outright lied and were caught out. I collected my refund and left. The standard of service in this place is appalling. If I were the owner, I'd be very, very concerned. Will never ever set foot on this place again.

Go here regularly usually love the place but today there was some new guy with black curly hair and glasses spent more time chatting and looking around than actually taking my order completely forgot about my apple pie and when I said it it was grabbed and banged in the microwave for 10 seconds thing was still ice cold. And it's not like the place was busy either

I asked one of the vendors at the English market next door where I could get Hot chocolate and she recommended Bean & Leaf. She was right! Great hot chocolate. Cute decor as well.

Frappe was good, and has a good range of cakes and treats. The service was mixed but place was unclean. Crumbs (& flies) everywhere, every empty table and mugs and trays on it.

The cashier was kind of grumpy and somehow hard to understand. The cheescake had a very artificial taste and was too expansive for its size. I did not like it. Next time I try another Café.

I went to Bean and Leaf last Thursday for my usual morning coffee. A server (turned out to be the manager) was walking from the floor, to the coffee station. I said 'excuse me, can you please give me the code for the (outer door) of the bathroom. She did not reply, so I asked again for the code. 'You don't need the code, there are two people in the bathroom, stand at the door, and they'll let you in when they come out.' I made three more requests for the code - on the fourth, she told me the code numbers, through clenched teeth, barely audible. She told me also - if you hadn't lost the receipt, you wouldn't need to ask for it!!! Incredible. A man then stood up from his sat, fists clenched, red furious face, clearly unable to control his rage. Are you planning to assault me, I asked? because I will have the police here, fast. This woman, whose name is Ana, instigated this entire incident, putting me in danger of violence. Just for arguing with a customer for that length should be enough to fire her. Her boss, Bill, called me, and excused her with his every word. 'A misunderstanding, he said. Bill could not tell WHAT WAS THE MISUNDERSTANDING? HER REFUSAL TO GIVE ME THE CODE, CAUSED THE INCIDENT, THAT COULD VERY EASILY HAVE LED TO VIOLENCE - NOTHING ELSE. ITS EITHER ELDER ABUSE, MAN HATE, OR HOMOPHOBIA. If there was a zero star,this place would be given zero.I ordered latte ,but the lady who was serving was so mean with no reason,awful service. My foot will not stand there again.Coffee okay but the customer service is not even within basic standards.

Impressive lineup of fresh baked goods. Got ours to go but there is some nice little patio furniture outside for sitting with a coffee and a pastry. Prepare for street parking which can be hard to find at times. There is a car park next door, but often it is full too. Depends on the time of day that you go. Very friendly staff. This is a pretty popular spot on the edge of main street Midleton. They even offer their own tshirts!

We knew we hit the jackpot when we saw the queue out the door. The pastries are beautiful, especially the Raspberry Danish. The staff were lovely and the coffee was delicious. We grabbed a sourdough special on the way out the door.

Great variety- make sure you go early as they are very popular- delicious baked goods and bread! You won't be disappointed

Really disappointing hot chocolate!! Bread and bakes here are fabulous however in recent times the drinks are severely lacking which is such a shame. Grumpy bakers in Midleton used to always have the absolute best hot chocolate locally but for the last few months it’s gone so downhill. I visited this morning and ordered hot chocolate - I have included a picture of what I received - hardly any chocolate and extremely watery - I had hoped the chocolate had just settled at the end of the cup but it hadn’t. I will give top marks for the marshmallow- amazing as ever and homemade. Hot chocolate aside I also ordered a sweet treat which was lovely but it would be amazing if the drinks could return to their previous standards - on my last visit I ordered an iced white mocha which was just an iced latte with chocolate flakes dumped in - they were completely unmelted and this was made by the same staff member as today.

I recommend going here for breakfast or lunch, or just for sourdough bread or sweet baked. There's not that many seating, but there is some, it's also perfect for takeaway. I loved the sourdough and kimchi sandwich. Freshly baked and great taste. And the banana bread was very good! Nice staff and good service. You just have to try it🙌 I'm coming back!

Had bought their coffee in supermarkets before and its definitely the best option by far in there and decided to order online directly. Fantastic service, ordered online and received the next day. The lack of roast date means that you have no idea which sequence to consume your bags of coffee in and no indication of the freshness prior to use. Edit: the response below tells you everything they need to know, if the roast date was good, they wouldn't hide it. Speciality coffee drinkers look for a roast date for a reason.

We are delighted with our new Sage Bambino Espresso Machine. Velo offered the best price online and threw in some coffee and goodies. It makes delicious coffee, it doesn't take up much counter space, and the manual steam wand is good for experimenting with latte art. Excellent customer service from Madison at the roastery. Highly recommended.

I was in the market for a new coffee machine and purchased a sage one from Velo. Apart from being over a €100 cheaper than their store competitors they had it delivered first thing Monday morning after ordering on Friday. Two bags of coffee, a pack of haribo and a lovely Velo embroidered microfibre cloth were also included in my delivery. Thanks guys!

My old simple espresso maker finally died after 10 years and it was time for a proper home office, caffeine addict upgrade :) Found a great machine on Velo's store for a good price, shipped the same day, delivered the next ... working day saved. Even included two bags of free coffee and other goodies. Awesome service!

Boxt Coffee is really nice the drinks taste great and the flavours are lovely! My only complaint is that they never seem to add enough Milkybar, Matcha, or Kinder flavours. A little extra would make these drinks perfect

It's honestly very disappointing to have to leave a 2 star review here - Have been a regular customer (actually 2 of us in the car..) for months, coming probably 4 times minimum per week. Have recommended the place to countless friends. But lately the standard has dropped - last 3 occasions the coffees both hot and iced have been bland by previous standards. However the most frustrating part (and also a kick in the teeth) is that the squid loyalty which was already at 10 coffees (much higher than competitor's including bean and leaf who are right down the street and only require 7) is now increased to 12! How the management think that 12 coffees to earn one free is acceptable is outrageous - you're only affecting those who were loyal and supported you early on in the first place. Out of principle you'll be losing our custom

I just had a very disappointing experience at Boxd Drive Thru. Me and my partner are loyal customers we come at least 4 times a week. We went for coffee today we ordered 2 iced milky bars extra syrup and a cappuccino. The iced coffees were bland no taste of milky bar and the cappuccino was cold. I am so disappointed with this service.

I go to boxed every morning for my coffee and I have the best experience with everyone of the staff and especially Ella she’s always so bright and bubbly and has an excellent customer service skills .. I highly recommend boxed 5stars all the way ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My previous experience here earned a solid 5 stars for a perfectly made coffee. So I came "hoping" to give a more positive 5 star review. Unfortunately, this visit fell short. I requested a half-full cup for a stronger brew, but received a full cup instead. When I pointed this out, the barista simply poured half out, resulting in a diluted and disappointing drink. He seemed busy so perhaps it was just because of that. I'll give it another try, hoping my first experience wasn't a fluke.

I got a large Cappuccino cup for 3.5Euro. It was good and ideal and they use Soma Coffee which is one of the best here in Cork. Very recommended, it is on your way to Center or Train or Bus station. Himt: The small size is tiny cup

First time in Ireland. Woke up a bit later than expected and needed a quick coffee and on the go breakfast. Staff was awesome and the yogurt granola mix was great. Coffee tasted fresh and made perfectly to order. Wife needed a lemon for a sore throat, but they didn't have one, so they offered a lime instead.

Delicious black coffee, they had two styles to choose from at the time. Great treats, fabulous owner and staff, going back again today! A must for Cork coffee lovers.

I usually get my treats in shop, but these days I can't seem to get to the city centre, so I decided to shop online. I bought 1kg of my favourite ground coffee and a big bottle of caramel syrup. The transaction was safe and quick and two days later a little piece of heaven was delivered to my door. I highly recommend Mahers for all your coffee needs and wants. 5 stars! Thank you.

I friend of mine got me a hazelnut Flavoured coffee from you guys recently. It was super. I decided to order a 1kg bag since we have a new born in the house and depend has increased.

We stop by Maher every week to get our coffee grounds, and we absolutely love it! The selection of flavors is fantastic, and the coffee itself is just amazing. Whenever we travel back to our hometown, we always bring some with us because our families love it too and always ask for more. Truly one of our favorite places for coffee!

They have the best coffee! We've been buying our coffee beans from them for a while now and they never disappoint. All the beans we've tried have been delicious, prices are reasonable, and the order processing and delivery times can't be beat.

Coffee is good but be very wary of ordering a coffee subscription online. I ordered a subscription as a christmas present and that worked out fine so I decided to renew in may for a birthday present. The May coffee arrived no problem but no sign of the June coffee. Luckily the recipient let me know so I phoned them and it was sent out. I thought "Ok, mistakes happen and they did send it out and apologised when I informed them of the no show". However, the July coffee failed to materialise too. Again, I was relying on the recipient to let me know. They did apologise and send it out but really, while mistakes happen, for it to happen twice in a row is totally unacceptable. For it to happen a second time, I would have at least expected a small token of apology. Even a few small samples of a couple of different coffees would have been fine. I would even have been happy with a card in with the coffee assuring the recipient the problem (a computer glitch apparently) wouldn't be repeated. They just didn't seem to treat it as a big deal. The August one has arrived but I feel the need to check with the recipient each month now. It really has taken the good out of the present I gave him. I won't be giving him another subscription.

I have been getting a coffee here every morning for the last 12 months. I am making the move back to Kerry today and my daily trip to Some Dose is going to be one of the things I miss the most about Cork. The coffee is sensational of course. The treats and pastries are divine - Blondie is a personal favourite. But most importantly you will always be met with friendly faces and a nice chat with the staff. I couldn’t think of a better place to start your day in Cork City. I’ll be popping by anytime I’m in Cork in the future. Thanks for all the flat whites and chats Jarryd and team ❤️

Really nice little spot next to the garden Centre. They have a good bit of seating outside. Really nice coffee and they have coconut milk (so many places only do oat milk). Also love the GF vegan brownie and they have a few other gf vegan options

Some Dose is my favourite coffee shop in Cork and the world. The coffee is always 10/10, also the snacks are super yummy and the staff are so friendly and lovely. Rumour has it the owner is also a legend. Go there, you won’t regret it!

En route from Dublin to SW Kerry (Castlecove) and I stopped here, courtesy of Google Maps, for what turned out to be a perfect Latte and a scrumptious chocolate brownie. I was served by a lovely couple who were really friendly and courteous and it was such a pleasurable experience that I know I'll return for more of the same the next time I'm on that long drive. An unexpected pleasure on all fronts.

Finally some decent coffee at cork airport. Oat flat white was great, although would recommend using a better tasting oat milk like Oatly Barista.

Great that you can get such delicious espresso in Cork Airport! The staff were very sound too - gave me change for the bus. My only quibble was the water selection - which is canned water from Austria. I know the cans look cool, but surely Irish spring water would be the more sustainable option?

Used this cafe yesterday afternoon. Bit of confusion as regards to what we were ordering as the staffs' english wasnt great but thats ok we all have to learn. The ceasar salad ciabatta that was ordered had shredded red cheddar cheese stuck to the bottom of it possible from the grill. When we were sitting down eating they decided to empty the bin right next to our table apart from this being totally unexceptable for food hygiene and restaurant ethics, she nearly had to sit on our table to do so!!!! Staff need more training in the basics of food hygine restaurant ethics.

We came in for a drink and left incredibly concerned as the male server on shift today had a constant unusual cough and no mask. I would like assurance that this member of staff has tested negative for covid but In light of the current covid pandemic, it is incredibly uncomfortable to sit in the cafe with the constant sound of coughing from someone who is serving food to the public. On another note as someone who is gluten intolerant, there was no food available to eat in the cafe.

Lovely staff, poor quality of food. I feel bad leaving a poor review given how friendly and professional the staff were but they were clearly not well trained in proper food prep. My wife ordered the porridge which was portrayed and depicted as a healthy, gourmet option but came out as instant oats drowning in far too much milk. I ordered the breakfast burrito which had hot and cold ingredients prepared together which I thought would make me sick. Great location, looks nice from outside and friendly staff but they would benefit greatly from proper food prep training and presentation

Turned up early for flight. Sat and listened a colleague working in the cafe, who was not wearing a mask unlike his two other colleagues, proceeded to cough repeatedly over the food and in front of customers with what sounded like a very unusual cough also. Irrespective of whether he had covid (which I suspect he had from the characteristics of his particular cough) to be working in a food environment without a mask, coughing and also not wearing gloves when serving was outrageous.

Came here for the brunch menu and wasn’t disappointed. The French toast with bacon and maple syrup was absolutely delicious 🤤 one of the nicest I’ve had in the city, the bacon was cooked perfectly and cut into easily. The decor of the place was really nice too, with really friendly servers and overall clean. Will definitely be back!!

Delicious brunch! We had an issue with one of our meals, but the waitress and the manager dealt with it very professionally. I could highly recommend the brunch/breakfast menu – so much to choose from!

I went here for brunch with my partner while visiting Cork for a couple of days in July. The food was great but we had to wait for a good while to be noticed by the servers who seemed to be mostly teenagers. Maybe we were unlucky. I would come back and hope that the service level improves.

Incredible value for money. The service is friendly and detailed. The vibe and atmosphere is really nice, striking a balance of chill but also high quality. And the food! OMG! So delicious. Gf has duck legs & I had the pork pancetta for mains as well sharing the seafood plate for starters sharing. We were STUFFED! Excellent quality, full of flavor and goodness. I had my birthday in this beautiful place with wonderful people who serve you wonderfully well. I have no words to thank you. This day became wonderful with wonderful service and wonderful food. I would not recommend this place enough 10/100000000, that's why it's so busy. I've been trying to go to this place for over four months and it was worth all the wait. I can't wait to go back and I recommend it to everyone. As a good Brazilian, I love meat. I can say that the meat in this place is wonderful and of good quality. And the pork, please try the pork. Wonderful.

I am behind in writing this review as we visited in May, but I still think about our meal here! Perfect service, incredible food and drink and great vibe. Loved being able to watch the cooks do their magic, especially with the steaks. Brûlée a steak? Awesome! Everything is made in house, including their beers and the ice cream that I still dream about…Burnt honey & bourbon ice-cream, pecan & Korean chilli brittle 🤤 Definitely make a reservation while in Cork!

It has already become one of our favorite restaurants in Cork. We usually go there on special occasions. Everything is always delightful—the service, the cocktails, the perfectly cooked and super flavorful meats… but for us, the real star of the night is always the dessert. It’s like tasting a piece of heaven! I highly recommend it to everyone.

Visiting from Buffalo, NY, and this was hands-down one of the best meals I’ve had in Ireland! Elbow Lane Brew and Smoke House absolutely nails it — tender, smoky meats, fantastic in-house craft beers, and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. Went here because of the reviews and it was really good! Steak was cooked absolutely perfectly. Enjoyed it very much and the dessert was killer! Stays very busy so reservations are a must.

The Cobh Heritage Centre was an incredibly moving experience. The exhibits beautifully tell Ireland’s emigration story with heart and authenticity. Learning about those who once departed from this port knowing some were my own ancestors made it deeply personal. A must-visit for anyone with Irish roots or an appreciation for history.

Just on the quayside if you are on a cruise ship here. As you enter a very nice cafe to take in the yesteryears theme. Tea’s coffee and cake. From here you can buy entry to the Heritage museum.

My husband and I went for a genealogy consult, but then enjoyed the museum afterward. What a gem! This centre encapsulated so much of Irish history with a variety of media that would keep any visitor engaged. This should be a “must” when you travel to Cobh.

We made an appointment with a geneologist weeks before our visit for a 60 minute consultation. I learned a few new things about my family's location prior to 1847. After thst, records were lost for a period of time because of the famine. The Heritage Center offers a well organized historical display. Thectown of Cobh is charming, clean, and picturesque.

My sister and I did the 1 hour session with a genealogist. His name is Christy Keating and he was extremely knowledgeable of the history of Ireland and of the migration of our ancestors. He was able to find out were my great grandmother came from. As well as her mother and father which was a big mystery. Christy was very compassionate and he will always be in a special place in my heart. Thank you Christy! Going through the rest of the tour was amazing afterwards. It put in perspective what our ancestors had to go through to get to America. I can't believe so many people survived those conditions. All of it is worth doing, but if your not into genealogy at least do the tour.

Amazing food, 10/10! Everything was well-prepared, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The place is small but very cozy — everything is new, clean, and well-organized. Service was also great, with friendly and attentive staff. Waiting time was totally fine, nothing excessive. Highly recommend! Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing dining experience with a touch of Middle Eastern cuisine. The staff are very friendly and the space is welcoming. Highly recommend trying their house stone baked bread that resembles flat bread. Warm out of the oven, it melts in your mouth. The hummus was also amazing and one of the best we've ever had with real good olive oil on top. The chicken was the best we've ever had, tender, refreshing with the touch of lemon sauce and perfectly matching the crispy layered potato cake and the roasted pumpkin. Overall, an amazing combination. Regarding desserts, if you don't have a sweet tooth, I wouldn't recommend the white chocolate dessert. Instead, I would go for the Middle Eastern milk pudding, very mild, comforting to digest with rhubarb and hibiscus compote that gives it an acid but perfectly balanced touch. Perfectly light to digest the meal. All ingredients are locally sourced. We'll definitely go back whenever we're next in Cork.

Three of us popped in on a Tuesday evening. Our first experience. I have to say 5 stars is a perfect score for this wonderful eatery. As a vegetarian and meet eating group all needs were catered for. And may I say as the veggie of the group well done Orso. Delicious food. We sat at the bar as all the tables were occupied. Our lovely bar keep served flavoursome cocktails with aplomb. We will definitely make a return visit next time we are in Cork.

A peaceful and powerful place. Nano Nagle Place is a hidden gem in Cork — beautiful gardens, a thoughtful museum, and an inspiring story of a woman who changed lives through education and compassion. Quiet, moving, and truly worth a visit.

Very interesting museum about Nano’s history but also about Cork’s and Irish history in general. Has a lovely restaurant as well and hosts many events and collaborations with many non-profit organizations

Wonderful exhibit and grounds telling the story of Nano Nagle, a nun who secretly taught the poor of Cork in defiance of the penal laws, her family's wishes, and social norms for women. Her powerful legacy of social justice extends into the present, and the exhibit is housed in the former convent that was home to her work. Absolutely gorgeous campus, gardens, and cemetery, and notably every part of the grounds and museum are accessible to wheelchair users via lifts. Accessibility is also extended via sensory kits and lightweight stools for anyone who might want a place to sit, among other accessibility tools. Children were also clearly considered with activities for them throughout the exhibits. All the staff were warm, knowledgeable, and welcoming. The gardens are free to walk through and are an immensely peaceful oasis with many opportunities to sit and appreciate the natural and architectural beauty of the surroundings. The museum tickets were affordable and well worth it. I highly recommend stopping in at the Good Day Deli and eating outside. The food is phenomenal, mostly vegetarian, mostly local, and the view of the garden is a beautiful setting for a meal. The staff at the cafe were wonderful.

Cannot believe it has taken me so long to visit this fantastic oasis of calm in my native city. Immaculately preserved and presented buildings, cemetery and gardens. Museum, bookshop, café and restaurant on site. Entrance is free of charge. Well worth a visit as it is only a short walk from St. Finbarre's cathedral. Parking extremely limited....so leave the car at home.

A beautiful hub of knowledge complete with a museum and gift store with quaint and cute little handcrafted and artisan things. Has a beautiful garden tea shop/cafe. Even if you don’t go to the museum, this is still worth a visit because of the natural gardens and the crocheted flower garden. A work of art!

Really good Chinese food that's a bit on the pricier side of things. There's also a second menu that you can ask for which supposedly contains more authentic dishes. The food, like duck and chicken, might come with bone (do ask). The Hong Kong style roast duck is really tender, the crispy chilli chicken and the pepper beef are really good too. The staff were really nice and helpful too, to give advise.

The best Asian food in Cork, friendly service, nice atmosphere and the food is unbelievable… the portions it’s large and it’s everything like the photos also the taste it is unreal, the pork belly and duck were crispy, the food arrived fast even though the restaurant was quite busy . Fast service too. Fair prices for the food and portion!

The best Chinese restaurant environment in cork town now, they have delicious traditional Chinese food from the blackboard you can ask recommend, and also the food menu will make u melt ur month.

Great place for really tasty Chinese food that is outside of the standard fare. The fish in the sea bass and pickled cabbage soup was remarkably fresh and the portion was generous. If you're not used to the type of heat from Sechuan peppers you might want to ask them to make your food mild for you. I also tried the scallops there. Delicious! Lovely friendly staff too.

Excellent Authentic Chinese food, with very generous portion sizes. Was very busy when we visited so service was a bit slow but we enjoyed ourselves and will go again.

First entering the restaurant, the atmosphere was quiet and tranquil. We were greeted by a polite man who took us to a table, was patient and welcoming. Were given complimentary towel packets and the portions were large and appetizing. The prices were fair for how much your having 20-30 euro per person. Not any rude waiters as some comments suggest, our visit was recent and very much enjoyable. We recommend coming here for a casual meal in peace or to share a few moments with your family. Overall really clean and suitable, loved coming here :)

This restaurant is brilliant. The service is exceptional and the food and drinks are great! We got chicken Parmesan, vegetable soup, carrot cake (GF), an eclair, and mochas to drink. I would order all of it over again. Everything was delicious and filling. The food was fresh and invigorating, while the mochas were perfectly balanced between sweet and robust. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

Service was excellent, and quick. Eggs Benedict, eggs Florentine and pancakes were delicious. My son had a nosebleed, and the staff were wonderfully kind and helpful. We will return.

It was always a full house each time I crossed it. I finally gave in. Artisan food. I mean, come on. I made a reservation, just to be safe. A pleasant dining experience with modern interiors, hidden away on an inside street. The nicest peas and courgette soup I've ever had, and a decent savory well-cooked pesto melt chicken sandwich. The tortilla chicken salad was alright, though it was presented well with the elements separated to mix to your own delight. I quite liked the idea of it. They have spacious seating and, a short wine assortment, and what felt like an aisle of mouth-watering desserts that I will be revisiting the cafe for very very soon.

I had a lovely brunch at the cafe. The waiter were nice and prompt. Food came just in time despite the amout of crowd. Price was reasonable. Their signature hot chocolate is a must try. Big portion as well for an average foodie like me!

Cute, spacious cafe with hearty portions and sweet treats. Came here for brunch after arriving in Cork on an early morning train, so a heavy meal was exactly needed. The cafe was busy even though it was Monday, but we got seated within 5 minutes. Indoor seating and takeaway available. The waitresses were nice and I liked the decor. I got the smoked salmon on scrambled eggs with brown bread, while my friend got the Irish breakfast. Neither of us could finish our plates, which were substantial. My dish was on the saltier side; it looked like the tables around us were order more of the sweet items. Overall, it’s a cute spot that’s good for friends as well as families.

Hidden breakfast gem in Cork. One of the few places open early. We has the pancakes, full Irish breakfast, powder eggs with toast and eggs Florentine. Service was great, our server was so friendly. Food was delicious.

This is one of the nicest places to have lunch in Cork City. You can have breakfast or lunch here. The menu is quite varied and caters for both vegetarians and meat lovers. The sizes are good and the prices are average. This place is usually very busy between 12-3 pm. If you wish to have lunch here arrive a little earlier to ensure you get a table. The staff are excellent and extremely nice here.
