History museum
Nestled in Bozeman, the Museum of the Rockies is a treasure trove for anyone fascinated by dinosaurs and the rich history of the Rocky Mountain region. Home to an impressive array of dinosaur fossils, including a real Tyrannosaurus skull and even a thigh bone with fossilized remnants, this museum boasts one of the largest collections of dinosaur bones in America. As part of Montana State University, it also serves as a hub for paleontological research led by renowned scientist Dr.
After years of wanting to see this, we finally did. The museum is great for families to visit with various interactive exhibits for kids. I would say 90% of the museum pertains to dinosaur and other fossils but also has information and artifacts from the area in general. There is a homesteaders house you get to go through as part of the admission.

Perfect activity when you don’t have a lot of time in Bozeman! This is a beautiful museum that features a lot of dinosaurs, dinosaur interactions and information. If you like BIG dinosaur skeletons, this is your place. There is also a very comfortable small planetarium that is a perfect place to relax after touring the museum with a variety of good shows and a very nominal price. Please DON’T forget the period house that is located outside! It is a real walk back in time! There is a very nice sized gift shop and a small cafe there as well.

A Dinosaur Lover's Dream: The Museum of the Rockies The Museum of the Rockies is a perfect activity for anyone visiting Bozeman, especially if you’re short on time. This beautiful museum is a must-see for dinosaur lovers, featuring a vast collection of impressive, well-maintained dinosaur skeletons and engaging exhibits. Beyond the incredible dinosaur displays, the museum also offers a variety of other attractions. You can relax and enjoy a show at the comfortable, small planetarium for a nominal price. Don't forget to visit the period house located outside—it's a real walk back in time! The museum also features a nice-sized gift shop and a small cafe. With its amazing, rotating exhibits (like the past Marvel Comics display), there is always something new to see. It’s a highly recommended and educational experience for all ages, offering a great way to learn and explore through real skeletons, sculptures, photos, and movies.
Vasista K — Google review
Museum of the Rockies is such a cool place to explore! If you’re into dinosaur bones, this is the place to be. Their exhibits are some of the most impressive and well-maintained I’ve ever seen. I also love that they feature rotating exhibits — about a year ago, I caught the Marvel Comics one, and it was amazing! Definitely a must-visit if you’re looking for things to do in Bozeman.
Gunner J — Google review
Absolutely loved our visit to the Museum of the Rockies! The exhibits are fascinating and beautifully curated — especially the incredible dinosaur collection. There’s so much to see and learn for both kids and adults, and everything is presented in a way that keeps you engaged from start to finish. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the museum itself is clean, well-organized, and easy to explore. Definitely a must-visit stop in Montana
Vianey R — Google review
Great museum of natural history as well as a kids area for Yellowstone. Wonderful addition having the Jane Goodall exhibit and a poignant time visiting with her recent passing but the area is so well done. Great visit for natural history!
Ross M — Google review
We visited Museum of the Rockies this time during a remodel, so we have less photos to share. We also need to crop ourselves out of the dinosaur pictures, so parts will be missing. That said - Museum of the Rockies is a MUST if you are heading to or from any nearby National Parks or other historic sites. The museum has several rooms to visit and learn about different dinosaurs, times periods, etc. There’s a room with a bench and a movie screen where kids can press play and learn. The t-rex has an upstairs viewing area. The top floor has a children’s museum with interactive displays, bathrooms, and low key learning stations. There’s a planetarium with daily shows on the main floor just inside the doors. They usually offer two different kinds of shows per day. Don’t be late. The doors are locked to provide everyone inside a fantastic show. The gift shop will require its own chunk of time so you can peruse. They have the expected t-shirts and sweatshirts, but also have a great selection of stones to choose from - as well as magnets, toys, mugs, books, etc. If you can afford to become a member of the museum, they offer after hours events and fundraisers. The last time we were there, the museum was hosting an after hours event for members. Becoming a member is well worth the investment. The museum is a great place to take young children. The Museum of the Rockies was the beginning of a lifelong love of dinosaurs and paleontology for one family member who first visited it as a toddler. The museum has an elevator to make it easy to get to the kid’s floor with little ones in tow. The parking lot is big - and the views of the mountains are breathtaking. There’s a walking path outside and a safe area you can walk your dogs.
N1 Z — Google review
There is much to explore at this museum. During our first visit, we focused on Sue, the enormous T-Rex fossil. On this visit, Jane Goodall's chimpanzee studies in Gombe were the focus. I had intended to walk the grounds of the historic farm buildings during peak autumn beauty, but was disappointed to discover that this area closes at the end of summer.

Farmers Markets
The Bozeman Farmers' Market is a beloved local event that takes place in Lindley Park on Tuesday evenings from June to September. It's a bustling hub of activity where you can find an array of seasonal produce, baked goods, and artisanal products. The market also features live entertainment and is pet-friendly, making it a great outing for the whole family. Visitors can enjoy delicious food while browsing unique vendors and even participate in activities like partner yoga.
GREAT Farmers' Market!! Happens every Tuesday at Lindley Park near downtown from June thru mid-September. Hugely popular with locals. Long lines for everything from brownies to Asian noodles to fruits and vegetables. And my favorite vendor was Juju Gear, an upcycling mom and son operation selling really awesome skirts. There's also live entertainment and dogs are welcome too.
Irma Z — Google review
I had an absolute blast at this Farmers market!! The vendors were awesome and unique and informative and I had the pleasure of doing some partner yoga with some of the people that I met there. All in all, a very enjoyable experience and I would encourage anyone and everyone to go!
May W — Google review
A lot of selections! It's great to see an entertainment in the park where families can sit together and eat some food they had from the market.

Lots of vendors and good live music for ALL
Tia C — Google review
I had a burger and ice cream from these two places and they were really good
Paul S — Google review
Delicious fish tacos, homemade cheesecake, and fresh veggies. All so good. Plus, fun art too.
Mary H — Google review
Lots of vendors with a huge variety. Something for everyone. Fresh produce, homemade goods, live music, food trucks.
Summer B — Google review
Pros: This farmer's market is dog friendly. While there is a tented area for vendors, the sitting area is outdoors, so if you enjoy outdoor weather, you are in luck. Sometimes, they have music there. Cons: This is a small farmer's market that is very overcrowded. The food is expensive; I did not have anything that was that good and I tried 3 different items from three different vendors. Most of the crafts and local veggies are on the pricey end. We had to park several blocks away, so the elderly folks who were with us to be dropped off first, in busy neighborhood traffic. Be prepared to wait in a long line for the very small ladies' restroom. Be prepared to stand while you eat because there is not enough table room to feed everyone. Consider bringing a blanket if you want to sit on the grass instead of a table.

Park
Peets Hill/Burke Park is a popular green space in Bozeman, offering a variety of outdoor activities and stunning views. The park features a well-liked hiking trail and a hill that provides scenic vistas, making it an ideal spot for wintertime sledding. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the top of Peets Hill at sunset and explore the Wortman Spur Trail, which is frequented by joggers, cyclists, dog walkers, and pedestrians.
Excellent trails to walk, bike, jog, stroll, enjoy with your doggie, and experience the awesome sunrises and sunsets. Paved pathways lead to the hill climbing areas where early morning exercisers can perform yoga, sprint the hills or lift weights.

What a beautiful place for a walk. We went just before sundown and got the birdseye view. It was great. We watched the moon rise behind us too. Really nice. High above all the city. We even got to watch a deer come up the hill and pass by us on it's way to it's next meal.
Robert B — Google review
Beautiful view of Bozeman, the surrounding mountains and the Gallatin Valley. An easy hike up the hill for a massive payoff. We took the trail to Burke Park and enjoyed the evening at the farmers market which was a heck of a party going on with two live bands, food vendors, local farmers and artisans.
Mags — Google review
A wonderful in-town easy trail with 360 degree views. And lots of happy dogs and their owners!
Leslie T — Google review
Stunning views. Well maintained trail with some initial intense steepness but past that not excessively difficult. Lots of great viewpoint benches. The labyrinth along the bottom flat path is super cool! There is a picnic table there as well.

The Bozeman Public Library is a stunning architectural gem that has earned a green certification for its environmentally friendly initiatives. It offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain ranges and features unique art installations outside. Despite being located in a town often overlooked by travelers en route to larger attractions, the library boasts an impressive collection and knowledgeable staff. The spacious interior provides ample study space, while the grounds showcase magnificent artwork.
Top notch public library right here. I'm blown away by how large, modern and comfortable this library is. As an Easterner, I was expecting something a whole lot smaller and a whole lot less up-to-date out here in Montana. Boy, was I wrong and I'm so happy to be wrong! This is a huge building with so much space, so much glass and so many comfortable places to sit. I found a study carrel upstairs where I was able to plug in all of my electronics, connect to their fast and free wifi and get some emails done today. I was here for three or so hours and even managed to sneak in a quiet Zoom call without disturbing my fellow library patrons. Good security presence and a large parking lot. I'm impressed!
Bruce K — Google review
Well the sculpture garden at the Bozeman public library was very interesting as was the library itself. It had tons of sitting/work areas, a kitchen room for classes and a work room for pictures and T-shirts, a puzzle and a plant exchange area (which I thought was pretty cool), a large children's section and a teens section, and even a laptop rental kiosk. Everything you would want really. Pretty neat place to visit for a while. #mysteryladystravelingfeet #bozemanmontana #publiclibraries #sculpturegarden #parksmakelifebetter #LivingMyBestLife #gypsylife

One of the most incredible public libraries I have ever seen. The resources offered here are next level. 3 D printing. Embroidery. Sewing machines etc. classes. Food. This place is an oasis and I wished I lived here but alas my children and grandchildren live elsewhere. From the carpet to the restrooms this place is amazing to behold. Someone invested a lot of time and money 💰 in this space. Come visit and take a walk/ hike at the park and paths next door.
Cyr A — Google review
Such a beautiful place! Every time I come to town I stop in. Wonderful children's section with cool artwork and playing area. Huge selection of books. Large adult area and also an upstairs. Very helpful librarians as well!
Mamie Z — Google review
Beautiful library and surroundings, is not that big but have many different kinds of books and DVDs, it also has some computers and relaxing areas to quietly sit and read. It has restrooms up and downstairs. There's a small hike at the backyard
Anabel P — Google review
I’m from out of town (DC area). This library exceeds expectations. It’s quite spacious, beautiful, and has a friendly atmosphere—an overall great spot to spend more than a couple hours a day learning, studying, or working. There’s also an equally beautiful park in its backyard with big green trees, where you can picnic, read, stroll around for a bit, and make the most of the beautiful, sunny summer weather.
Faith R — Google review
I’ve never reviewed a public library before, but this one stands out. The architecture is striking, and the garden behind it has some unique sculptures. It’s worth checking out.

The Bozeman Art Museum offers a delightful display of artwork, providing visitors with the opportunity to engage in enriching conversations about its offerings. Gallatin County Regional Park, situated between Oak and Baxter on Bozeman's west side, spans around 100 acres along Davis Lane. The park boasts mixed-use trails, a playground with climbing boulders, and a 13-acre dog park. Visitors can enjoy fishing in the stocked lakes, explore the bike park, or have a picnic while taking in views of the Bridgers.
LOVE THIS DOG PARK! Friendly people, tons of space! Dog course within the fence that is also fenced in! A pond with a dock that’s also fenced in if you don’t want your fur baby in the water. Right next door is also a park with a huge hill for sledding and a track around a pond. Just love this park

Super fun for our kids. Nice toddler play area and kids fenced in which was nice. Porta potties needed changing, reason for 4 stars, but at least they were an option. Looked like a great outdoor area and trails as well.
Amanda K — Google review
Incredible park. It has a few tiny lakes and an amazing off leash dog park. The dog park has a dock where the dogs can jump off and swim. It also has an agility course. Everything is very well maintained and clean.
Rhyann P — Google review
Leash law is never enforced. Random dogs jump on you etc if you're running and owners act like telling there dog "no" after it jumps on you etc, makes it ok...over and over please start writing citations..there's a dog park next door, just go there please

Glen Lake Rotary Park, located just a short drive from Bozeman, is a stunning conservation area that was once a gravel pit. With the picturesque mountains as its backdrop, the park offers various outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy. The lake is perfect for swimming and there are large covered areas for events or shelter on rainy days. One of the favorite features is the bouldering rock, which provides climbing opportunities for all skill levels.
The fairy houses were all great. Dancing and music. Hard to get pix as there was usually a crowd around each house. Great community activity by a great bunch of random acts of kindness group I believe. Just a small sample of photos

Nice place to relax at the lake and refresh yourself. There is no entry fee and parking is possible directly at the lake
Sebastian — Google review
It was a little disappointing when we got there as it looks like a condo development or something is going in right next to it, but we were looking for some place to walk after just arriving in the area that day so it fit the bill! The trails are pretty flat. We did stumble upon a faerie village which was an unexpected bonus; they apparently do this for a few weeks every year and we just happened to be there at the right time so that did make the hike a little more special to see all the tiny details and the creativity of some of the artists. Another highlight was the doe and 2 fawns we saw in the faerie village, adding to the magic! 🪄 🦌 🧚‍♀️

Great small lake to swim with the family. We stop by on our way back home from Vancouver with the RV. Very busy for a small lake. Our rig is over 40 ft, although we were able to drive around the lot, I don’t recommend it for RV that are 30 feet long or more. You can always park outside the park lot. During our visit a local left a notice on our mirror suggesting to turn off the engine while park at the lot. I would have taken the suggestion with more weight if the local had the character to tell me in person. I would had explained to him that its was my generator and not the engine that was on. Regardless my wife had fun! Thank you Rotarians for the hard work and giving back to your community.

Nice little park in town still being renovated. Seems a little overused and very popular. Some dudes pulled up and cranked up the music in their ride blasting everybody out. Pretty inconsiderate. Not everybody wants to hear your bass boosted crap.

👎🏻👎🏻not a family friendly place whatsoever in my opinion. Folks openly smoking marijuana, drunks doing what drunks do, music blasting from vehicles, creeps gawking at teenage girls. Super trashy grounds up front. Disappointed to see this decline in an area park.

Lindley Park Center is a delightful destination for families and nature lovers alike. This well-maintained park features a variety of amenities, including a playground perfect for little ones, picnic tables for leisurely lunches, and scenic trails that invite you to explore the beautiful rolling hills. In winter, it transforms into a sledding haven with gentle slopes and even has a warming hut to keep cozy after some fun in the snow.
Oliver and I found refuge here when a group of goblins were on the hunt for us. I picked some wild flowers, put them behind my ear, and then went on the labyrinth and it taught me how it may seem like we’re going in circles, but ultimately it’ll lead us exactly where we need to be. Beautiful!

Brand new playground! And an exercise area for adults. So fun!
Amanda W — Google review
We are so fortunate to have this beautiful park in Bozeman. I regret that I have not used it enough over my 30+ years in this town. Today I discovered the carved totem of all the animals in our area and was stunned by this amazing work of art. And the new playground is a tremendous improvement (although I miss the old retro toys that it replaced, they should’ve stayed for memories sake). But thank you Bozeman Parks & Rec for the great maintenance and continued improvements to this gem!!

Hiking area
College 'M' Trail is a popular hiking spot in Bozeman, adorned with a giant M created by Montana State University students. The 1.6-mile loop trail offers picturesque views and welcomes hikers of all levels, including kids and dogs. With three route options - hard, medium, and easy - the trail provides diverse experiences for visitors. However, it's important to be cautious during snowy conditions and consider bringing a friend along for safety.
Great views. Great workout. Would definitely do again. However…coming from a 22yr old male who is somewhat athletic and not accustomed to the altitude, the combination of trails were pretty challenging. I completed the hardest trail in 21 min and my watch estimated 810ft of elevation. It’s practically straight up with no flat areas. I walked down the “easy” trail and it looked challenging to walk up as well, however, it is more doable taking me 30min with no breaks to go down. The shortcut trail is also steep and has sections of very loose rock that can be somewhat sketchy as well. Hikers of all ages were on the trail from younger families with kids to older women. I would recommend you take it slow, bring water, and be careful. It’s a good challenge and I felt safe in the area.
Nick Y — Google review
The M Hike is a must-do in Bozeman! It’s a great workout with a steady climb, and the views from the top are absolutely worth it. Hiking in the snow made it even more beautiful—peaceful, crisp, and a little extra challenging. Whether you're looking for exercise or just want to take in the scenery, this trail is a great choice!
Andi S — Google review
This is a great hike and a really nice way to experience the Bozeman surrounding landscapes. There are 2 ways to get to the M, so depending on your fitness level, you can choose the long way or the short way. We chose the scenic/long way (still challenging along some parts of the trail). But the views at the top are worth it.
Mark M — Google review
College 'M' Trail is a fantastic hiking route that offers stunning panoramic views and a rewarding outdoor experience. The trail is well-marked, moderately challenging, and perfect for both beginners and seasoned hikers. Along the way, you’ll enjoy scenic landscapes, fresh mountain air, and peaceful surroundings. It’s especially beautiful at sunrise or sunset. Clean, safe, and well-maintained, College 'M' Trail is a must-visit spot for adventure and nature lovers alike.

My wife's cousin hikes this trail most days and wanted to show us when we visited. It is a beautiful trail that is varying in challenge based on which path you choose. No matter what you choose, the views at the top are incredible. This is a popular trail and you will not be alone. Their's not much more to say besides check out my photos.

Family hike with fantastic views of mountains and valley near Bozeman. Easy trail is 1.5 miles and option for difficult .5 mile trail.
Ray B — Google review
The steep side is very hard, the moderate side is hard to intermediate. Good hike.
Justin P — Google review
Beautiful walk. Definitely did not pick the best time to go, heavy snow. It would be good if the city could add some additional postage on the distance and arrows pointing to the correct route. Take a friend with you, can be a little daunting if you find yourself stuff. On the long route, the shortcut is slightly dangerous when snowy, make sure to have some water

Dinosaur Park & Playground, located within Gallatin County Regional Park, is a fantastic dino-themed play area with various equipment such as castles and slides. The park offers separate areas for toddlers and older kids, all enclosed by a fence with ample parking available. Visitors can enjoy benches and picnic tables both inside and outside the fenced area. Additionally, the park is adjacent to a fire station, providing an opportunity for kids to see a fire truck.
My grandson loves this park, and he loves dinosaurs, so we are so glad they put this park together.

A great park for kids and brings back many memories. The toddler area is perfect for toddlers

"jarrassic park is awesome" > direct quote by my 4 year old. in our annual trip to & from washington + north dakota, this has been a staple to stop & get the kiddos energy out. my 4 yr old loves the low monkey bars & my 10 yr old loves to hang from the high bars. there are benches for parents or a picnic area nearby. the park is also next to the fire station, so the trucks are a delight to see too. 🦖🦖🦖🦖🦖 5/5 dinos

Perfect park! I love that it is pretty contained. There are things to do for toddlers and older kiddos.

Great spot. Enough for the kids to do and shaded picnic areas for a quick stop on a long road trip!

Love this park but the pay ground needs some attention from the city it's starting to get old

The lake and the mound creates a multi-dimensional ambiance very unusual in a city park. A telling testament to Bozeman's ethos.

4 stars as the Porta potties needed to be emptied, but at least it was an option. Great park, lots of outdoor space as well.

Gallagator Trail, located in Bozeman, is a 2.2-mile out-and-back trail that used to be an old rail line. It starts at the preserved train depot turned public library and runs for about 1.5 miles, passing by the Bozeman Library and Sculpture Park. The trail is dog-friendly and features various art installations along with glimpses of a flowing stream alongside it.
Just a block from downtown with entry to the trail at any number of spots in town this trail rocks. It accommodates people ranging in age from youthful to older. The flat areas below the ridge provide ez riding or walking in a variety of terrain. Jog, walk, or bike up the trails to the top and you will be provided spectacular views of the Bozeman area with mountains all around and views of the city nestled into the valley. I saw groups of children on mountain bikes, yoga work outs, dog walking galore, biking, jogging, and lots of picture taking. Enjoy this wonder of the Bozeman area.

In town trail behind library with 2 different lots to park at. Easy flat trail that meanders along a creek in places. Some benches throughout with shade. Was especially nice with fall colors. We enjoyed!
Mamie Z — Google review
Thoroughly delightful trail along a paved path featuring sculpture/art along the way. My 86+ year old father who walks with a cane enjoyed the stroll and strategically placed benches for art gazing. Did I mention a delightful place!
Jayne P — Google review
We are lucky in Bozeman to have this trail in town. It is lovely, with trees and a creek that let you be in nature in the midst of the city. It is only a narrow strip of nature, but it works well to transport you to a forest.

Gallagator Trail in Bozeman is part of an old rail line. It begins at the old train depot, which has been preserved and turned into the public library. The trail goes for about 1.5 miles. It is dog friendly and the children are sure to enjoy it as well. There are several works of art along the path for you to check out. Following the trail also provides glimpses of a stream that flows it alongside it. The only downside was part of the trail was closed while they do some road work. Anyway, I recommend this trail if you are looking to get some stroll time in. Enjoy!

12Streamline Bus

Transportation service
If you're exploring Bozeman, you absolutely must take advantage of the Streamline Bus service. This fantastic city transit option operates four routes throughout town, all at no cost to riders! Whether you're heading downtown or making your way to the MSU college district, Streamline has got you covered—even late into the night on weekends until 2 AM.
I use Streamline regularly (over 600 rides!) to get to work, and back and forth downtown from my house. It is a great system; the buses are clean and the drivers are courteous. The new routes are well thought out and help me get where I need to go. Now that my daughters are high school age (but not quite driving) I have been encouraging them to use the bus on their own, and I feel it is perfectly safe for them.
Seth W — Google review
Hard to give them a fair review - they've reduced their service (to 4C) and buses come/go early/late which can make it annoying to get to places (or the bus stops). Externally from MSU that makes sense, but leaving the msu stop early is nonsensical. I've also had buses just not show up, and have to wait for an hour until the next bus shows up. The drivers to my experience are great people, but whoever plans the routes doesn't seem to care or understand the needs of the community. Moved to 4C and 4 months later the bus routes changed and no longer support the (growing) 4C community, which seems crazy since that's the only place where somewhat reasonable housing is (excluding Belgrade, which does have service). The website and app are an absolute joke, at least make the website mobile friendly.
S M — Google review
Busses were always early or late and you’d wait almost half an hour for your bus. Drivers are nice but keeping time is the most important part of running public transportation, there was also one driver, who to be fair sounded like he was on his first day and drove up on curbs and kept almost hitting cars, highly anxiety inducing.
Fiona J — Google review
Their schedule only applies to the stop they first depart from. After that it might be late, but its usually a completely inconsistent early to its stops, so show up 20+ minutes BEFORE the window their website tells you the bus should be there within (within no less!) I show up early to the schedule for three stops UP the route from myself and still miss the bus. And in the same vein, plant yourself as soon as youre on the bus because several of the drivers will launch the thing while you're still trying to find a seat as if they have somewhere to be (yeah 20 minutes BEHIND where you are). I would 100% pay a fare amd endure rude drivers if the busses would just ACTUALLY KEEP THEIR SCHEDULE ON THE ROUTE -LITERALLY THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF RUNNING PUBLIC TRANSIT.
Michael O — Google review
I first learned about the Streamline service in 2022, and it was excellent. I also used it in 2023 and was pleasantly surprised. But now, in 2025, the bus hasn't arrived at the bus stop twice. Today, July 29, I couldn't return to Belgrade from Bozeman. I waited for the last bus at the scheduled time, at the bus stop next to Walmart, but it didn't arrive. I'm a tourist, and I didn't have an internet connection to request assistance. Thanks to the helpfulness of a supermarket employee, I was able to get a ride from Bozeman to Belgrade. It's unfortunate that the Streamline service has declined in quality.
Ocielaysen — Google review
I enjoy Streamline because it's a free service that spares me from the stress of driving, parking and saves some fossil fuels. The drivers are knowledgeable about routes and connections, and very occasionally when a deer runs across the road in front of the bus in a snowstorm in the dark. True story. I really enjoy riding Streamline in the winter. I just feel a lot safer. Summer months I walk a lot. Good to get Streamline all the way across town in 15-20 minutes when I need it.
Beth B — Google review
I have used the streamline many times and let me tell you, it's extremely useful! It goes all over Bozeman so you can easily get to your favorite places all over town. The drivers are also really kind and help you if you are having trouble finding where to go. Also, It's free! Truly a great experience every time I ride!

Canine Beach at Bozeman Pond is a well-maintained gravel beach area in Bozeman, perfect for dogs to play and swim. The pond offers opportunities for athletic dogs to fetch toys from the water or for others to frolic in the shallower areas. It's a relaxing environment with benches, dog bags, and clean walking trails. Owners can enjoy watching their dogs have fun while surrounded by beautiful scenery and wildlife.
This place is the ultimate in stank dog activities. Your dog is gonna be STANKY. But that's ok because your dog is also gonna have a GREAT TIME. Cool little gravel beach that is superbly maintained by the city of Bozeman. Ducks everywhere, nice green grass everywhere, well maintained. You can't do better if you are looking for some wet fetch in a nice dog pond. Do it bud.
Kurts T — Google review
This dog park area is such a fun spot for dogs who love playing in water. Athletic dogs can launch themselves off of the dock and fetch toys in the water. Other dogs can enjoy the shallower areas of the pond and frolick with each other on the water.

Hiking Trails
Middle Cottonwood Trail offers a varied hiking experience depending on the time of year. During early summer, expect refreshing creek crossings and occasional snow, while late spring may bring chilly water from melted snow. Hikers are advised to carry bear spray due to frequent bear and mountain lion sightings. The trail follows the creek through the forest with occasional meadow views, and wildlife sightings such as American dipper and ruffed grouse are common.
Great trail with many many views. Totally worth it if you go to the top or wander off trail and even chill on the river. I do recommend if you are physically fit or determined enough to make it to the summit.
Rhys X — Google review
Mid October after a snowfall was a gorgeous experience! Quiet in the trail that was easily marked. Plenty of parking.
Danielle L — Google review
Fun trail if you're looking for something chunky and challenging going up and down. Took my e-bike and enjoyed it. Beautiful scenery on the day I went. Look out for hikers though. There are probably more fun trails to ride if you're on an analog bike but if you want a challenge, this will do the trick. I got to a certain point quite high up and then turned around.
Terry D — Google review
Great hike with exceptional scenery. The 1st mile is medium. The next 1.5 miles is medium-hard, but worth the walk by the stream. The rest of the way to the summit of Saddle Peak is Hard, very steep. But if you are prepared, it is exceptional views from 9100 ft.
Matthew R — Google review
Amazing place to explore, even in the winter. Beware that the trail is quite icy in spots, but still definitely manageable, even in December. It was a sunny day and I made it to the top of Saddle Peak in sweatpants, a hoodie, and normal hiking boots.
Sebastian P — Google review
Last quarter of the trail is the steepest. Follows the creek through the forest most of the way up with great views in the occasional meadow. Trail was pretty easy to follow in the snow due to previous traffic. Saw an American dipper and a ruffed grouse as well as TONS of rabbit and hare sign. Loved it and definitely will hike it again!
Mandy L — Google review
Trail conditions vary depending upon the time of year. This photo of Saddle Peak from the ridge at the top of the trail is from the first weekend of June. Some years there is more snow, some less. Expect to get your feet wet! The multiple creek and runoff crossings are refreshing in the early summer, but in late spring, they can be a little chilly, shall we say. They are just melted snow at that point in the year. 🙂 Take bear spray. Bear and mountain lion sightings are often reported. The road can be unpredictable from year to year. It's best to have a four-wheel drive and high clearance if you don't know what the road is like before heading up. You can also ask about current road and trail conditions in the Hiking Bozeman forum on Facebook.
Danielle S — Google review
Easy hike with beautiful environment, if it would've been warmer we would've cooled in one of the many pools in the creek.

Bozeman Sculpture Park, also known as the Gallatin Art Crossing, is a delightful public park featuring an array of unique sculptures and art installations. The park aims to make art more accessible by placing diverse artworks throughout Bozeman's public spaces. Visitors can admire these sculptures and other art installations while strolling along the paved trail near the Bozeman Public Library and Burke Park.
Super cool park. Tons and tons of shade and beautiful big trees. We didn't explore munch as we were just passing through town and needed to park to let our dog cool off in. We hung out under the trees and enjoyed the quiet. It's right next to the library. It seems like. Anyways, the park was pretty peaceful, pretty big, look like there's quite a few different walking pass throughout.

Fun walk with weird sculptures. My family enjoyed the labyrinth. Lots of people there walking their dogs and there is a trail nearby.
Stephanie B — Google review
Cute, well taken care of park. Great place to take a stroll, walk/run, or just enjoy a beautiful day. The sculptures are pretty cool. Wish we had more time to explore it.

I absolutely love the Bozeman Sculpture Park! This place is a true hidden gem. It's beautiful and pristine, and the sculptures are perfectly integrated into the landscape. The small 2-mile walk is a wonderful little hike and the perfect way to spend an afternoon admiring art in a stunning outdoor setting. Plus, there is tons of parking, which makes visiting so easy and stress-free. If you're looking for a relaxing and beautiful spot in Bozeman, this is it!

Just lovely! Quite a nice park for a walk by itself (lots of trees and beautifully shaded) with hiking trails nearby. The sculptures are interesting and a grand addition to the adjacent library surroundings. Recommended.
Cathleen C — Google review
If I were a resident, this would be my favorite place in the area. As a visitor, I enjoyed the opportunity to stretch my legs a bit, but I wouldn't say this was a must-see. Adjacent to the library, with plenty of parking and close to the downtown area, but far enough to be quiet. The paths are paved and we saw walkers, dogs, and cyclists. Lots of benches and well-maintained. Pleasant sculptures. If you need a place to unwind or to get some steps in stop by, but don't go out of your way.
Jennifer N — Google review
In the heart of the city, this is a great walking path. The sculptures are interesting. We parked at the library and walked the path to see most of them. It's a good way to pass the time!
