Beaches
Boathaven Beach, also known as New Beach by locals, is a tranquil stretch of white sand located on a small peninsula in Airlie Beach. It's considered one of the best beaches in town and is perfect for beach lovers looking to capture stunning photos. The beach features stinger nets during the summer months, allowing visitors to enjoy the water year-round. Boathaven Beach is an all-tide beach, making it ideal for swimming regardless of the tide level.
Wonderful Beach that has a netting around a large swimming area to protect from jellyfish :-) beautiful beautiful beach!
Julie — Google review
Great little beach not far from town, it has nets too to protect swimmers from stingers
Cameron W — Google review
A little hard to find as it’s obscured by a row of mansions, but it’s worth a visit. It’s a beautiful beach. Comparable with the best you’ve seen and swam in around the world. Try to park near the sailing club and walk 2 mins down the street to the entry pathway.
Bel H — Google review
My fave beach in Airlie, I’m down there every morning for the sunrise, it’s so so so gorgeous and peaceful, outdoor shower and water fountain too, and a little bit of shade in the palm trees 🌴
Ellen A — Google review
Cute reclaimed beach tucked away behind some impressive residential estates. Small carpark so might need to park a bit further away and walk in through the path before the houses. Water gets deep fast, even during low tide so make sure the kids have floaties if they aren't confident swimmers. Final note, it's a dog off leash area and there was a local that let a pit bull off his leash and chased after my 9 year old, so use caution.
Paul I — Google review
Nice beach calm waters but that's as tranquil as it got as lots of house building going on around the little beach.
Pamela R — Google review
Beautiful beach. We enjoyed sitting and watching the boats go by. Peaceful spot to sun-bake.
Tony J — Google review
Nice and quiet beach! Away from the crowds and still beautiful! Not much around but still not a far spots from the shops and the center of the town.. it’s even a decent easy walk from everything and a little car park around the back. May be just a little too low but still great for a dip!

Great place to cool down and relax, plenty off toilets and change rooms available. Pools are great, easy pool entry for all ages. Sails over pools are perfect. Easy to get to, with plenty of caffes near bye.
Daniel — Google review
The Airlie Beach Lagoon is an amazing place in the heart of town and oceanside, where you can swim, lay out in the sun or shade, have a picnic or just sit and people watch. This place is such a wonderful attraction to an already beautiful place.
Amy H — Google review
What a fantastic initiative from the city to make such an amazing pool for free for their locals and tourists. It has lifeguards as well to take care of you and the water is very nice. I see that many locals come here for sunbathing as well when the sun is out in the weekend. Great vibes here!

FREE admission swimming complex in the heart of Airlie Beach, Whitsundays! 🏊‍♀️ Open from 5.30am to 9.00pm daily (summer hours until 31 May 2025). It has a public toilet, showers, and is surrounded by picnic areas and gardens. There is a section for lap swimmers, but best to do it early mornings or late nights for less crowds.

The lagoon is beautifully maintained, with crystal-clear water, shaded areas, and plenty of space for swimming or simply soaking up the sun. It’s family-friendly, with shallow areas for kids and lifeguards on duty, making it safe and enjoyable for everyone. The views of the ocean and nearby palm trees add to the tropical vibe, and best of all—it’s free! A must-visit when in the Whitsundays.

Flea & Street Markets
The Whitsunday Saturday Markets in Airlie Beach offer a perfect opportunity to explore the stunning 74 Whitsunday Islands. The location provides a beautiful view and features friendly stall owners offering a wide range of trinkets and local cuisine. The markets are dog-friendly and wheelchair accessible, with an excellent playground nearby for kids. Visitors can browse through beautifully crafted wares, including homemade soaps, handcrafted jewelry, clothes, and locally produced delicacies.
This is like the old markets and something for everyone. Sorry forgot to take photos l did buy. Myself a shirt and some long liquorice and a hand painted fridge magnet all from different stalls!
Dennis H — Google review
To be honest, this is a very average market. They have the usual array of items ranging from cheap Chinese trinkets to beautiful homemade jewellery. Even though it was a Saturday morning, there were not a lot of actual stalls . Expect the usual tourist prices. Parking can be a problem, however, the location is stunning, the market being set right on the beach front.
Wayne R — Google review
Awesome meet to wander round on a Saturday morning. Arrived at 10:30am and still plenty of stores open.
Jon H — Google review
Love browsing around the markets and having a chat. Buy fresh produce, have a coffee, occasionally I buy clothes or earrings for myself and there are great gift ideas. Now we have school holidays and the weather's cooling down, so it's more comfortable walking around.
Erifili T — Google review
Lots of different stall. Funny how you can travel from Kent in England then bump into a Pom who worked in the street opposite where you now live. Had a great chat also brought a lovely hand painted fridge magnet from his wife.
Linda H — Google review
Cute market with lots of stalls. Handmade jewelry and other crafts are the ones I stick to and I was happy with my purchases. Also has a few food stalls. I recommend the honey comb frappe!
Carli W — Google review
Casual market on every Saturday morning right next to the beach. You can't ask for a more beautiful location. Good variety of stalls including handmade jewelry, food, fruit and veg. Well worth a visit. Can be hot so definitely wear sunscreen

Open every Saturday depending on the weather. This open air market in a stunning location by the water is well worth the look. A great mix of stalls with some creative locally made treasures to find but get in early as they are packing up by 12

Easy access, great products

This is NOT a farmer’s market as advertised. Other than the location in Airlie it’s just the usual JUNK. The Lions club needs to lift its game and attract better vendors.
Ron P — Google review
Great place to go on Saturday morning. Check out the Bogan Apparel tent it has some great clothing. Also a big thanks to the friendly girl at the lolly stand 🤙

6Conway National Park Trail Head

Hiking area
Conway National Park Trail Head is a must-visit destination near Airlie Beach, offering easy access to the diverse landscapes of Cape Conway. The park features steep rock cliffs, lush rainforests, mangroves, and woodlands. Visitors can embark on several kilometers long walking trails that lead to secluded beaches and panoramic outlooks over the Whitsundays.
Amazing hidden hiking spot, not many people at all! Quite steep and warm on the way up, bring enough water. Might be hard to find, but google maps shows the trailhead!
Amar S — Google review
First things first. There is no parking at the top of the street where the entrance to the hike is. You need to park in the nearby streets. The hike is relatively easy, the track is well defined and maintained. There's lot's of interesting trees to look at as you make your way to the lookout. It's definitely worth doing as the view to the north is lovely.
AC — Google review
This is the trailhead for the Honeyeater lookout trail. DO NOT Google "Honeyeater" trail or you will end up in Cannonvale and there is no trailhead there and you'll waste an hour minimum. It is a steep walk, so bring a liter of water minimum
Ross S — Google review
No parking in the vicinity makes it not very family friendly. The view at the trail head is pretty but it's in the middle of residential houses, so roofs and buildings. In the case of our visit, a new place higher up the hill above the trail head was under construction so not too peaceful for us. The trail head is not a lookout in that there is no platform, just a dirt track to get started on the bushwalk. This limits photo opportunities. The main view is of the marina and surrounds which is pretty, but as it's man made I feel should be acknowledged. Would be keen to try the walk proper and see if there are other vantage points along the way. All in all, it was ok but not great
Andreas M — Google review
An amazing walk and look out at the top. The start of the trail is a little difficult to find because the access road from the top of Kara Cresent to the trail head (50 metres) has been claimed by the local residents. This is a public road, do not let the local residents tell you otherwise. Enjoy.
Gary W — Google review
There is a nice view at the top of the stairs. It is the starting point for a few several-kilometer-long walking trails. The sign at the bottom of the stairs gives you details of each one. It is a bit awkward to find the stairs, as it is down what looks like a private driveway that has a 'no parking' and a 'no camping' sign at its entrance.
Tiffany W — Google review
Bit overgrown, not looked after. Just a trail, no nice views to look at.
Tracey A — Google review
Poor parking opportunities caused us to abandon the walk

Hiking Trails
Airlie Creek Track is an 850-meter walk offering a pleasant hour-long exploration of the local creek and its picturesque views. Located just 400 meters from the main street, this trail covers walking grades 1 to 4 and provides diverse experiences based on the season. In the dry season, visitors can wander through the creek bed, while in the wet season they can enjoy cooling off under a small waterfall.
I went in the dry season so the upper creek section was dry but still a nice hike saw plenty of flaura and fauna even the Ulysses butterfly
Luke D — Google review
The periodic signs warn of gradient changes, so if you are only moderately fit you need to think about the last 500m or so, but the 'waterfall' was worth making it to, even without water. Would be great if the relevant lanyard wearers updated signage to give an idea of plant species, etc, or just remove the rusty signposts. Enjoyable walk with periods of heart pumping short climbs, an easy 5 minute stroll from the centre of Airlie Beach. Hat, drink, camera? Good to go.
Simon — Google review
Very nice hike, easy and suitable to everyone. To enjoy the falls, you should avoid the dry season (April-October). Around 30 minutes to reach the falls (1h A/R).
Sara V — Google review
Nice, easy walk along a small creek with lots of butterflies. The rock pools are small and there some spiders and insects along the way. Worth it for the different species of butterflies.
Giulia C — Google review
looks like a nice trail, but the grass is a bit high and dense, and thus i had to turn back halfway because i was wearing shorts and flipflops. if you want to make it to the waterfall, come with closed shoes and long pants.
Clara T — Google review
Nice walk up to the falls. Can be accomplished in thongs, but would recommend covered footwear. We encountered some muddy sections, but these were relatively easy to skirt. There are some rest points along the way for those, like us, who are young at heart but not so young of body😉The pool at the base of the falls is only small, but big enough to refresh yourself if the weather is hot and sticky.
Glennis N — Google review
A nice 30-40 minute hike close to Airlie Beach town centre. No beach views, but it's a good workout. There's a waterfall at the end of the track....but no water flowing when we were there in early October.
Bridget A — Google review
A walk that goes from easy to fairly rocky at the end. Peaceful bit with no views to reward for the effort to climb to the top.

Jimmy N — Google review
One of the most spectacular marinas I’ve ever seen.
Jᥲmіᥱ — Google review
The marina was full and we were placed with the commercial operators which was so noisy and a lot of traffic. I would suggest requesting the south arm when booking as it's quieter and closer to the Ocean Club and Lookout Lounge. We did provide feedback to management when we were leaving and they were very understanding and proactive. We wish we had mentioned it on arrival but we didn't know until 5pm when the Thunder Cat and other operators returned with hordes of people.
Angela W — Google review
Great place. We chartered a catamaran for 10 Days, so we visited the marina a few times. Nice cafes, bakery, dive, tackle and numerous other venues. Marine trades onsite, premium unleaded and diesel.

If you're looking for a challenging hike near Shute Harbour Rd in Airlie Beach, the Honeyeater Lookout Trail is a great option. Starting at 15 Kara Cres, this 5km return trail offers a moderately challenging uphill trek that leads to stunning views of Airlie Beach. The path is surrounded by lush rainforest and gum trees, making it a picturesque journey. Be prepared for muddy and wet conditions at times, so wearing proper footwear is essential.
Extremely difficult incline that gets the heart rate going! At least 10,000 steps to the top, 400m elevation, took me around 2 hours round trip. Views are lovely. Take a water bottle.
Kelsey B — Google review
Pretty hard trail with a 7 and 8yo (who are used to hikes), but maybe it was hard because we wanted to be there for sunset so we just rushed to the top. The view was amazing!
Stephanie V — Google review
This is a good climb on a cool morning. It is surprisingly vertical for the whitsundays but the grade is reasonable compared to what you find in more mountainous areas. The path is well worn so it is doable as a trail run for those in great shape.
Drew M — Google review
Great hike. Take good shoes because it can be slippery in parts. Took about 80 minutes to the top and 50 back down. Plenty of wildlife about. There is almost no parking so you have to leave your car at the bottom of a steep street.
Erik D — Google review
Trail was very steep and exhausting, but worth the effort. There is no water source, so bring your own.
Naveen R — Google review
This trail is beautiful, but certainly not easy. My watch clocked about 380m of elevation and the total distance was just over 8km from the stairs at the start of the trail. Well worth it! Take a water bottle.
Ainslie B — Google review
So far, this track is my favor one in around Airlie beach.👍🏽 The beginning was a little bit challenge because of climbing up. But after 1/3 of track it started to become nice up and down, 2/3 of track is covered by tree. When the breeze coming, you will forget the heat of the day. And you can see so many creatures here, bush turkeys, lizard, many butterflies. 🔍✨ The view of the look out is the biggest price. The color of the coast was just stunning. I took about 3-3.5 hours for this track Spent quite a lot of time of looking for animals and taking photos tho.🫣
Ru N — Google review
About 9km round trip, this trail can be quite steep in places but a very good quality track to follow. Our 11 & 9 yo boys came along and it was their first over 5km trek - we all had a great time and the view at the Honeyeater Lookout is absolutely stunning! We set off at 9:30am in January so it was very humid however the trail is mostly sheltered by gorgeous rainforest. We saw 5 monitors of varying sizes, so many different butterflies and birds. In the final 800m or so it started raining, which was a lovely relief, however the path quickly became very slippery. Highly recommend this trek but be sure to bring at least 1L water per person and a banana snack for energy replenishment at the lookout!

Fishing charter
If you're seeking an unforgettable fishing adventure in the stunning Whitsunday Islands, look no further than Barra2Billfish Fishing Charters. This charter is highly recommended by both hotels and locals alike, and it’s easy to see why! With nearly 30 years of experience, Richard leads small groups of 4 to 5 people, ensuring that everyone gets ample time to reel in their catch without waiting around.
We've had a wonderful awesome experience with Richard, this is a MUST DO if you're at Airlie Beach and looking for a charter experience. Look no where else because Barra 2 Bill Fish is the only place you should be going with. Richard is a top bloke, down to earth, easy going and also highly experienced. We chose to do the island fishing charter with a group of six and caught plenty with Richard's help. This is an amazing and unforgettable experience for us. If you're looking for a charter experience, give them a ring to chat more. They pick us up from the location, took us out, had food prepared for us as well as clean all fishes that we've caught. We had the most amazing time out there and it was even better thanks to Richard
Kelly L — Google review
Richard was highly recommended by a couple of other operators in the area that weren't going out due to the weather. Richard took myself and another guy out on the river and got us on to some great Threadfin Salmon, Barramundi and I even caught a shark (not intentional but certainly a box ticked!!) we also caught a few mud crabs for dinner! He is an awesome guy and made the day really enjoyable with plenty of advice, tips and laughs! I will certainly be giving him a call the next time I'm in the area and would recommend him to anyone looking for a fun filled day catching some delicious fish for dinner (for that night and several after!) 10/10
Luke V — Google review
Richard was great, he really knew what he was doing and was working hard the whole time to put us on the fish. I went with my sister and her husband and although the weather wasn't ideal, he made sure we were comfortable the whole time. We would definitely go back and happily recommend if you're in Airlie!
Caitlin H — Google review
Got recommend barra 2 billfish for our fishing charter experience by our hotel and got talking to some locals who also spoke very highly of barra 2 billfish. So need less to say i had very high expectations. Basically i was blown away by how amazing the day was, Richard has almost 30 years fishing knowledge/ experience and it defently showed putting us on the fish time after time. Small groups of 4 to 5 people means you actually fish and not take turn holding a rod for 30 min intervals. Was a stand out day would highly highly recommend.
Chris — Google review
My husband and my son went on this charter this week with Richard and they loved it that much that they booked it 3 days in a row. They caught heaps of different fish and said it was the best charter they had ever been on so they highly recommended it. Well worth the money spent.

Went out on a private charter with two mates. Didn't get hooked up to any GT, but Richard tried his guts out trying to get us onto fish. Hr took us out wide to bottom bash as well, and we caught some big ooglies. Thanks again Richard, we will be back.

Great time!! Very professional and put us on the fish. Took care of everything from picking us up from our apartment to cleaning the fish, all we had to do was through it on the barbie and enjoy. Even if we got skunked it was well worth the boat ride. Spectacular scenery that you would not see any other way. If you're in Arlie beach don't miss barra2billfish.

Great charter. Full day private charter. Hooked multiple GTs and Mackerals and some small size long tail tuna. We even got a monster 40KG+ GT. My wife is new to lure fishing and she also landed a 7kg gt! I would definitely come back next year!

Nestled in the heart of Airlie Beach, KC's Bar & Grill is a beloved local haunt that radiates a cozy and inviting atmosphere. With its eclectic decor and warm acoustic vibes, this venue has been a staple for over 30 years, offering live music nearly every night along with spontaneous jam sessions that create an unforgettable experience. The menu boasts an impressive selection of classic steaks alongside unique Aussie game meats like kangaroo and crocodile, ensuring there's something for everyone.
This chef at drop of a hat served a 10/10 tatar to bleu 28 day aged 300g rib fillet. It was a beautiful tasting steak. If you like your steak look at the meat fridge.
Sha H — Google review
We ordered the Picanha steaks, and with the first two bites we were blown away with the delicious flavours that the rub and fatty layer add to the meat. Unfortunately, the thick part of the steak was too under for my liking - my daughter’s steak was almost blue-rare and the plate was full of steak blood. The mushroom and the truffle butter sauces were very nice. The lime mint drink was really refreshing. There’s live music which is great, but makes it quite hard to hear others. Service was top notch.
D G — Google review
Delicious pub style food. Enjoyed what we ordered. Large serving sizes for the price. However, there was a mistake with our booking. Called up a few days ago and booked a table for two. Turned up and no booking existed. So the lady I spoke to had clearly forgot to write my booking down. The female worker at the entrance was a bit unhelpful and made us feel as though we stuffed up, not them…she didn’t own the mistake or problem solve anything. She walked away (leaving us a bit confused) and a kind gentleman walked over and quickly rectified the situation in 10secs. Lucky…because we were about to walk away hungry to eat elsewhere. Thus why I had to give 4 stars. Other than that, the food came out fast and we didn’t stick around for dessert because we could see they were busy and people were lining up to get a table. My advice for improving your service would be to allow online bookings. This will prevent mistakes from happening.

Great food, great service and a fabulous atmosphere. I went here several times while I was in Airlie and I had my final meal here before I left the next day plus a birthday drink. Highly recommend Hope to be back next year.
Kim K — Google review
We came here to try the Australian game platter, which consists of emu sausages, boar meatballs, a crocodile skewer and a kangaroo steak. It did not disappoint! I love how the steak was medium rare and juicy. The only point for improvement would be to serve the meat warmer. It went cold quite fast after coming to our table. The meatballs were also slightly too spicy for my liking, but I suppose everyone's tastes are different! Staff is friendly.
Maïlys — Google review
The only reason this place gets 4 stars is because I couldn’t try the crocodile, despite being gluten free, everything prepared on the grill is not coeliac safe. There were plenty of gluten free options, and the prawns were exceptional - very fresh. The service was fantastic, very friendly and helpful. I would recommend- quality of the food and service was fab.

Hustle and bustle at KCs - a good vibey restaurant with great service the staff were ON IT!!! Very attentive. The croc skewers were the first time trying croc and thoroughly enjoyed. Choice of steaks good at not the highest graded quality beef, but priced fairly and cooked to perfection! Would return for a big ol feed

Just want to say I had lunch here today, on a Saturday, the food was great. Got the platter with all the game meats. Had an absolute quality whisky shot. Their bourbon and whisky menu is awesome. Anchor Bar is a popular spot in Airlie Beach, offering stunning elevated sea views and a relaxed atmosphere. The menu features a variety of hearty meals including fish tacos, pork belly burgers, and share plates. Visitors can also enjoy cocktails by the pool while taking in the breathtaking scenery of the Coral Sea. With its picturesque location and delicious food options, Anchor Bar is an ideal destination for both lunch and dinner.
Tucked away amongst the terraces, we wouldn't even have known Anchor Bar was there except for great reviews on Google, and recommendations from our resort staff (different resort to where Anchor Bar is located). We were not disappointed. Staff were friendly, courteous, attentive, professional. Our party of four shared two platters between us – the Can't Decide Platter, and the Seafood Platter. The assortment of foods was all delicious, and though we all ate to full, we still had a little bit left over to take home. 😋 Personal highlights: fresh shucked oysters, mussels, pork ribs, pork belly, sweet potato fries. But honestly, everything was good.
Clem F — Google review
We were advised of this place from a local. It’s not on the main strip but only a short stroll away. There weren’t many people there on the day we went so service was attentive. The view is spectacular. The chicken wings scrumptious and the spicy cherry margarita absolutely divine. There is a pool to have a swim in if you so desire.

Absolutely Fantastic! My wife and I have visited Airlie Beach 3 times in recent months and couldn’t possibly recommend the Anchor Bar more highly. Maybe 10 times eating here because of the exceptional food, drinks, service and view. A faultless menu that keeps us coming back. Pick anything on the menu and you can’t go wrong - but a special tip of my hat to the brilliant Mussels in a tomato chilli broth, the scallops & pork belly, the scallop ceviche and the fall off the bone ribs. Run by a super cool dude (Cheers Brett 🍻), his family and a staff that do a credit to attending the floor and anyone’s needs. Super chilled and friendly vibe that makes it a pleasure to be there. Beautiful views and cocktails also. We are going back for dinner tonight and so were the people we met one table over. Exceptional place Brett, a credit to you and can’t wait to come back.

Great Food, Friendly Service, Meh Cocktails Anchor Bar’s chicken wings were crispy, flavorful, and everything you'd hope for. The steak was above average with sweet corn sauce. But the standout? The coconut jackfruit curry — unexpectedly amazing, rich, and packed with flavor. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Only letdown? The cocktails which fell flat and were underwhelming or it could be the cocktail that we had that day and so we decided not to go for another one. Stick to beer or soda and enjoy the great food.

The Anchor Bar was a great find over the road from our accommodation (Toscana Village Resort). Our meals were great - prawn Caesar salad and fish & chips. The barramundi was amazing! Only negative was the music was really loud.

Delicious food, great service and lovely views! Came here for dinner as 4 and got the Can’t Decide platter, jackfruit curry and chicken wings. The platter was fantastic, everything was delicious with the ribs and pork belly being the highlight. it’s probably enough for 4 people. The jackfruit curry was also sensational - amazing flavour. Wings were good, house spicy sauce was a bit better than the buffalo. All in all the food was exceptional, would recommend!

Where do I even start?!? The most phenomenal service (shoutout to bree! You are so bubbly and cheerful it was contagious, made our experience here amazing!) first of all the scallop ceviche was incredible, everything that our group ordered was just perfection! The ribs, tender falling of the bone and the sauce?!?!? Ugh wonderfull! Cannot speak more highly of this place!
Trinity O — Google review
Calamari - very crispy and well seasoned, the side salad was amazing (lemon jus paired well and balanced with the calamari) Lamb stew - pesto sauce was amazing, although the feta cheese is a bit salty, yoghurt sauce is excellent A bit disappointed with the beef steak sandwich - the steak was not tender / flavor of the beef was not that rich Staff are friendly and good environment / vibe , need additional costs for extra sauces

Conway National Park, located in Queensland, offers a diverse natural experience with its coastal beaches and lush rainforest habitat. The park features numerous bushwalks, including the renowned 28 km Great Whitsunday Walk that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the unique flora and fauna of the area. Additionally, there are shorter walking trails available for those seeking a less challenging hike.
My first time been here and I had such a wonderful, fun time and experience to explore the Conway National Park and first time ever driving Segway that is not allowed 🚫 in NSW. The pathway is almost flat surface and about 9kms back and forth, very nice track! I love rainforest, one of my favourite. Ok, so I booked a tour and got pickup from the hotel. Zack has been running Segway this business for almost 9 years, very friendly, lovely and you will experience his wife baking muffin, cookies in the snack box provided to everyone and stop at creek to have it. Great time, loving it!

The ZigZag Whitsundays Day Tour offers an unforgettable experience exploring the crystal-clear waters of Airlie Beach in Queensland. Operated by a team of three women, this tour is highly organized and provides excellent customer service. Even non-swimmers are encouraged to snorkel, making it a great opportunity to overcome fears and explore the ocean's beauty. The tour operates sustainably with homemade food and no disposable plates.
This trip was incredible! We had the opportunity to snorkel (where we also saw a turtles), see whales on the way, walk up to Whitehaven lookout and relax on the beach! Throughout the day, food was plentiful and delicious. The staff on board were incredible, they had a lot of knowledge that they shared and genuinely seemed like they wanted to be there and loved their jobs. Massive shout out to Jess who was super friendly and went above beyond to help us see wildlife that wasn’t necessarily on the tour. I wools highly recommend this trip to anyone, excellent value for money!

Zig Zag are absolutely AMAZING!!! Our family had the BEST day!!! The lunch was really yummy!!! They provide wetsuits/ goggles/ snorkel/ pool noodles and even life jackets if needed. We got to swim on the coral reef and saw many XL turtles!! This tour was definitely the highlight of our holiday!! The Zig Zag team were all really helpful and friendly!! The boat is also amazing with sun decks and large tables. Loads of room and really clean and new!! I highly recommended this tour with Zig Zag!!
Blue._.berry. — Google review
We are a family of five with children aged 3, 5 and 6, and we have now been on Zig Zag twice and cannot wait to go again. The boat is enclosed, which is ideal for little ones who like to move about. There are comfortable seating areas with tables, perfect for playing games or doing activities while cruising. The food was delicious and plentiful. The buns and wraps were great for the kids, and the salads were a lovely addition for the adults. The drinks selection was fantastic, and the cocktail slushies were definitely a highlight. I love the flexibility of this trip, especially the option to snorkel or simply relax. On many other day trips, those not snorkeling end up waiting around, but here we spent the whole day enjoying the beach instead. We set up a cabana, made the most of the beach toys provided, and even did the scenic bush walk, which the kids managed easily. Highly recommend this charter. An absolute A plus experience.
Chloe A — Google review
The staff were super friendly and helpful. That is probably my only positive. Its some great advertising but I wouldnt say its family friendly at all, it clunky, time consuming, poorly planned and takes you to the most average section of the beach. For the $700+ we paid I wish we had choosen a better tour but as its advertised it seemed family friendly and the boat looks so comfortable online in reality its a ferry with some chairs outside you cant use unless the boat is stationary, when moving your locked into a stuffy badly airconed ferry ride. -The tour should advise that you don't get to go to Hill inlet lookout from any part of this beach. While is does say the Southern Whitehaven lookout most people arent aware which is which and many others were caught out by this, so that feels a little deceiving. It could say no acess to Hill inlet lookout. -If your going as a family and have an infant your snorkel sessions are split which means you get no time together for photos or time snorkeling together or on Whitehaven beach together which kind of defeats the purpose of visiting as ideally you are spending the day as a family. They take you to chalkies beach to snorkel so I can see no reason why you couldnt take a child over 1 so the family can enjoy the day together. Even the ocean rafting does over 6 months and that is literally just a big raft. I opted out of my snorkel package which I had paid for so that we could actually have some family time after my husband and other daughter went snorkeling. It needs to state that you have no time togther other the boat ride if you choose this tour. -There is 0 shade so bring something for yourself unless like most of us had to you want to sit up in the trees on the part of the beach full of midgees, leaves and lace monitors (awesome part of nature but can be agressive and have a nasty bite so ideally you wouldnt sit in their habitat) to get a moments shade. Alot of other tours had gaeebos up for guests so they could enjoy sitting in the pure white sand. Even if they had them for hire I happily would have paid extra but nothing and the expectation we sit in the searing heat is a bit much. Considering it says online not to bring big bulky items I think something needs to be provided. Even a few shared gazebos. -The food is average at beat some salads, a roll and cold meat for lunch served out of tupperware container on the boat. So you have to pack up all your things get back on the boat to have lunch and then wait around to go back to the beach. Its very time wasting. -The videos make it look like super luxury boat with big outdoor space and chairs in reality you only get to use this space at lunch its closed off during travel and you are stuck at your table for 1.5 hours out to the beach then back. You have 0 chance of getting an outdoor seat if your coming back from the beach on the second run because all the snorkel people have already returned as well as the first boat. Do you research and spend you money more wisely then we did. I read all the bad review and thought maybe people are just having a winge but no its really dissapointing and for the same price point or a bit extra you could have an amazing time.

We had an amazing day yesterday with ZigZag Whitsundays! With our 4YO son the boat was perfect. There where games on board and a snack in between. The ride was very smooth and we could depart earlier. The time on the beach was amazing! The silicon like sand was so soft. We build a lot of sandcastles and swam in the ocean. The snorkling tour was gorgeous, we would totally recommend it. The variety of fish, the coral and we even saw a turte! We where a bit sad that the rent of a gopro (with another company) didn't work out, so we could show the underwaterworld to our friends. The crew on board where very professional and friendly. Would definitly recommend!
Sabine — Google review
We did the Whitehaven south tour with 2 kids and had a ball. The boat was awesome, staff bent over backwards to help, lunch was decent (wraps/salads). The transit between beach and the main boat at any time was great. Only small thing that could be added would be portable sun shades. Some other companies allow hire of them. Still give it a 5 star, particularly good for the kids.

We had an amazing day out with ZigZag Whitsundays! The whole experience was well organised and so much fun. The snorkeling spots were beautiful, and we had plenty of time to enjoy the clear water and marine life. Angus was a fantastic guide—super helpful, knowledgeable, and made the day really enjoyable. The rest of the crew were equally friendly, helpful, and very accommodating, making sure everyone felt comfortable and had a great time. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Whitsundays!

Magnums Hotel is a popular spot with a large patio seating area, gaming lounge, and pool tables. It's known for its vibrant atmosphere and variety of entertainment options like foam parties and live music. The venue is perfect for meeting fellow travelers and enjoying some good banter. Whether you're stopping by for a casual drink or looking to play pool, Magnums has something for everyone. With its infectious atmosphere and great views, it's no wonder many visitors find themselves staying longer than planned.
Luke was our bartender, he was honestly the best craic. Great to see so many Irish out here. Maybe the sexiest bar man I’ve seen since I’ve moved to Aus.
Sarah L — Google review
Magnums Hotel is a lively and well-established bar that delivers a fun mix of entertainment, music, and drinks almost every day of the year – even on holidays – from 10:00 AM until 2:30 AM. It’s a great place to unwind, especially if you enjoy open-air party vibes mixed with a touch of Aussie charm. The layout is casual and social, with a smoking area in the front and non-smoking spaces in the back and sides, giving everyone a comfortable place to hang out. Most of the action is centred around the outdoor bar, where live music sets the mood. It’s an energetic yet laid-back scene that keeps people coming back. Inside, there’s more to explore: a gaming area (casino-style), a nightclub, and even a private bar upstairs. They keep the events fresh with special activities like the Sunday silent disco with headphones – definitely a fun surprise. If you're up for a bit of casual fun, there are pool tables outside too. While food isn’t the main attraction, they do have special offerings like the "grill your own burger" experience every Saturday from 5 to 8 PM, which adds a nice touch. Magnums also supports the Pink's charity project, which is cool to see, and they actively promote it. For locals, there’s even an app you can download for exclusive deals – handy if you’re a regular and getting a membership. Drink-wise, they’ve got a solid variety of beers and cocktails, available in schooners and pints. The service is self-serve, so you’ll need to grab your own spot and head to the bar for drinks, but the staff is friendly and always willing to help if needed. Security steps up around 8 PM with ID checks and photos for entry, which helps keep the vibe safe and comfortable for everyone. Overall, Magnums is a great spot to enjoy music, drinks, and a lively crowd. It’s not fancy – and it doesn’t try to be – but it nails the fun and casual pub experience with just enough extras to keep things interesting.

No doubt that Magnums Hotel has one of the best locations that you could wish for at Airlie Beach. At the frontside there is one of the most popular bars, and many restaurants around. It is mainly a hostel, but at the backside they have a few bungalows which is what we opted for. The bungalows were very basic, and for the high price we paid a little bit too basic. A shame that there was no proper door to close the toilet and bathroom, which is not good for privacy. But in general our stay was ok.

Absolutely best day out! We did the two islands adventure, saw whales, took on some pretty rough waves (apparently we had a super rough day, but it actually made it super fun). Amazing views around day dream island, beautiful bays and awesome tour guide. Jarrod was fun and supportive. We had us in our 30’s (just) and my parents in their mid 60’s. We all loved the experience despite never having ridden a jet ski, we got great speeds, launched into the air a few times and had a ball laughing with the small group. If you are in Airlie Beach it’s definitely a must do.

I had an unforgettable birthday experience. The service was exceptional, thanks to our fantastic tour guides, Phoebe and Sammy. They were friendly, extremely helpful, and made us feel safe throughout the tour. Initially, we were a bit nervous about jet skiing as we had never done it before, but they were with us every step of the way, guiding us and putting us at ease. By the end, we were having the time of our lives and cruising along with confidence. It was truly a special experience, and we're so grateful to Phoebe and Sammy for making it happen.

The whole team who looked after our group from start to finish were on top form and made sure we all got to have some fun. 2 hour island tour ensured we got to see some of the best secluded beaches and island in the Whitsundays. 🏝️🐋🙏

The jet skis were fast, well maintained and new. We felt safe at all times; Phoebe made the experience incredible from the get-go. She created great courses for us to follow, took her time to spot whales and wildlife and was super kind when I fell in a couple of times! Despite it being expensive at first, the excursion was actually good value for what you get! Superb fun - a genuine highlight of our trip Down Under. Photos are included and Phoebe made sure there were plenty of our experience which are later uploaded onto a separate Facebook group.

To celebrate my 50th b'day my children and I did the 2 island Jetski Safari with the lovely Sophie as our tour guide. We have been lucky enough to travel alot of the world...Europe, Asia, USA , Central America etc and fortunate to have experienced some amazing things, however we all agreed this would have to be one if not the best thing we have ever done. At moments brought to tears with beauty of the surrounding scenery and the bonus of seeing whales in their natural habitat was breathtaking. The whole crew were amazing and so friendly, from the moment Josh picked us up and greeted us in the mini bus, his professional and informative induction and their flawless duty of care made us feel extremely safe and in the best of hands. Will definitely be telling anybody and everybody we know visiting Airlie Beach that booking a tour with these guys is an absolute must. Could not have been happier or thank them enough for a superb day.

Amazing group of tour guides. Very friendly and we loved being out with them. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to do a tour. We went so far out to different spots and our tour guide kept an eye on us the whole time. I was probably the most nervous out of my whole family. Once comfortable, that was it. I loved the whole experience.

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with Whitehaven Xpress, a day tour that offers a plethora of activities to make the most of your time in the Whitsundays. Experience two mesmerizing snorkeling spots teeming with vibrant coral and fish. The tour includes visits to the renowned Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet Lookout, where you can revel in extraordinary views.
Unforgettable day in the Whitsundays aboard the Whitehaven Xpress, a very comfortable ship with a great crew. The company is family run and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Refreshments are served all day and the lunchtime barbecue on the island is exceptional. Beautiful snorkeling spot south of the beach, swimming and walking to the lookouts organized by the crew. To choose without hesitation!

We had a great day on the Whitehaven Express tour. I chose them specifically because of the amount of time you get to spend on the beach rather than racing away to snorkel because my wife has no interest in snorkeling, and my kiddo can't swim well enough to give it a crack. There was stacks of food on the BBQ so you won't go hungry, and there is more than enough time to make the most of Whitehaven. My son had a blast chasing the fish in the shallows, and stalking the goannas as they tried to get a snack from everyone at lunch time. We also saw a non venomous snake. The crew were great, really friendly and happy to have a chat and a bit of fun, even trying to get a sing along happening with limited success. The only disappointment was that we spent too much time up at the Hills inlet look out taking in the amazing view so we didn't get time to go down on the inlet beach, another 15 minutes there would have been great but there's only so much time!

Amazing amazing tour - the team, kai, Bella, Sam and captain Dan were amazing and such lovely people with great personalities! We went on 2 walking trails to see the stunning views of the swirling sands and the beaches, had a delicious Aussie bbq with Stumpy the local lizard and swam in the champagne bay! Our walks were accompanied by Sam and Bella playing tunes on the ukelele too 🎶 We got tea, coffee and biscuits in the way there and cheese and crackers on the way back which was a nice touch! Shoutout to Wayne who picked us up and drove us back, he took us to the main st even though it wasn’t our stop - thanks for that!

We had a awesome trip with Captain Dan and his son Sam! Our trip to Tongue point overlooking the magical Hill Inlet and Whitehaven was super memorable. The weather was perfect, the boat trip smooth, and everything ran like a well-oiled machine. Dan is super laid back and entertaining, as well as a pretty great BBQ chef! Delicious food, amazing scenes and an all-round fantastic day was had by all on the Whitehaven Xpress! Thanks guys!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable Experience with Whitehaven Xpress Tour!** We had an absolutely fantastic day with Whitehaven Xpress Tour! The swirly sands at Hill Inlet were breathtaking, and swimming at Whitehaven Beach was pure paradise. The BBQ lunch they prepared was delicious, adding the perfect touch to an already amazing day. Captain Dan, Jess, and Decky Dan were all incredible—friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we had the best time. Their enthusiasm and hospitality truly stood out. We can't wait to book with them again the next time we're in town. Highly recommend this tour for an unforgettable experience!

Fabulous day with a great crew. Picked up by Wayne from hotel to boat. Was good to have a few hours on White Haven beach to enjoy swimming followed by a delicious bbq & a walk. Sam & Kai made this trip even more special telling us all about the Whitsundays & playing the ukulele. Thanks Captain Dan & crew. Would highly recommended this tour.

Fishing charter
Airlie Beach Fishing Charters, also known as Fishing Whitsundays, offers an exciting fishing experience in the beautiful waters of the Whitsunday region. Guests are picked up early in the morning and taken out for a six-hour fishing adventure where they have the chance to catch various types of fish such as Nannygai, Sweetlip, and Coral Trout. The crew on board is praised for their helpfulness and knowledge about the local fish species.
Highly recommend, great crew who know what they are doing and more importantly, love their jobs!! For me personally it was the best chartered fishing experience I’ve had. The weather was perfect, water was still and like glass in places, the fish were biting and the crew knew where to go for the conditions. Had a lot going on all in the 6 hours on-board and really never a dull moment. I may add, I was a solo traveler on this day and within a few minutes certainly did not feel like I was on my own. Very good day out overall and good to do in the first full day whilst visiting Airlie, as the fillets you keep can be presented to certain restaurants in town that will make you a meal your favourite way with your catch! Tides Restaurant at Club Wyndham and Anchor Bar are two such places and it’s good to know as you can then go on to save a bit on meals after your first day out! I’d highly recommend a trip with these guys and experience the best Airlie has to offer in charter boat fishing experiences.

My son and I had a brilliant afternoon out. Caught 9 fish but no keepers unfortunately (more due to weather) . Went to about 6 spots chasing the fish and even saw them feed the local sea eagles 👌. Matty, Tristan and the driver were awesome hosts which made it. My son got to drive the boat as well! Can’t recommend these guys enough. My son said it was one of the best times he’s had We had hoped for a fish dinner that night but didn’t matter as whole experience was 5/5

Had a fabulous time with Strong Man Tristan and Rylan! Tristan needs some better Dad jokes but his jokes were bearable after all. 😆Tristan and Rylan were very helpful and we totally enjoyed our time. Just one thing was that we couldn’t really identify where to go. Maybe a flag or some sort of sign would help.

Had a great time with our sons on the Airlie Beach Fishing Charter. Both Dave (Skipper) and Tristan (Decky) made it a really enjoyable, full of funny stories and great banter. They were very helpful and knew some great spots, the look on my son’s face pulling out his first fish was priceless. Nearly pulled in a 3 foot monster, but let’s not talk about the one that got away. Can’t recommend Airlie Beach Fishing Charters more highly, they even had a great recommendation to take our prized catch to a local restaurant (Anchor Bar) to have it cooked up for lunch.

Had a great day out in the water with Rylen and Yoko (sorry if i got that spelling wrong) They made the trip fun and kept us on the fish all day! Boat was clean and comfortable. We caught plenty of small fish, all different species. Caught a few plate size as well which the boys cleaned and filleted for us. They told us about an amazing local restaurant (Eastwoods) that we were able to take the fillets to and have a beautiful meal prepared for us. Fresh as fish gets! The owner was lovely to deal with and it was an all round great experience. If we return to Airlie we will be back on board! Highly recommend if you want a nice day out on the water bottom bashing 🐟 Cheers

Had a great experience today fishing with Jarrod and Tristan. Caught lots of fish and enjoyed our day. Definitely would recommend this to everyone wanting to catch a fish. My 15 year old daughter caught her first fish. She had a great time. The guys filleted our catch to take back to the hotel. Had it cooked up at the Wyndham . What a feast. Cheers

From the moment we stepped aboard, the crew’s professionalism and enthusiasm set the tone for an unforgettable day. Captain and crew were exceptionally knowledgeable about the local waters, putting us on fish right from the first drop. Their expertise in reading tides, structure, and bait made all the difference—we had a great catch and consistent action throughout the trip. The boat was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, with top-notch gear provided. Safety was clearly a priority, and every detail was handled with care. The crew went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great time—sharing tips, helping with rigs, and even filleting our catch at the end. If you’re looking for a professional, fun, and productive fishing experience, this is the crew to book. Already planning our next trip! 🎣 Highly knowledgeable, friendly, and focused on results—couldn’t ask for more.

I give 5 stars because I felt safe with the skippers experience in 20knot winds. The trip was fun from the get go, they have massive motors so get to the spot fast, not wasting any time. Great variety of anchoring on trout ground to deeper waters, to floating a balloon rig for surface fish. Food provided, they made sure we all were hydrated happy and didn’t get the shits if we got snagged. They filleted our fish and everyone left smiling ) I’m going again for sure ! )

Amazing place to take a little hike from the main street of Airlie Beach. Return it will take you to an hour, along the hike you can see native animals and on top of the hike there's a little waterfall. Beautiful place.

Shingley Beach, nestled within Coral Sea Marina, offers a distinctive experience with its stunning views of luxury yachts. While it provides a unique opportunity to relax by the water and admire the expensive vessels, swimming is not advisable due to the higher presence of jellyfish commonly found in marinas.

Located in the heart of Airlie Beach's main strip, The Shed Bar is a hidden gem situated behind Nomads Backpackers Hostel. Renowned as one of the top bars in town, it offers a fantastic outdoor setting and an incredible ambiance. This establishment is perfect for kicking off your evening and particularly popular for its lively Sunday sessions. With its intimate size and discreet location, The Shed Bar provides a relaxed atmosphere that appeals to solo travelers seeking a more laid-back socializing experience.
Fun night on NYE! Good happy hour ($5 drinks) and great tunes.
Vivian — Google review
Honestly I hate this bar. This bar is on the same property as the base/nomads hostel and only open during the weekend. From my experience the DJ sucks and there are so many smokers in the "smoking" area that the entire bar area is covered with smoke. If it wasn't for me being with a group of people that are trying to have a good time here then I would have left within 5 minutes of arrival. If you want a good night out in Airlie there are plenty of other bars to choose from so I would give this one a skip.
