We almost always go here for a wine tasting whenever we are in town. Go take a stroll through the display room, before you decide what kind of wine tasting you want to have. They use a tiered approach, so you can have young wines, medium or aged wines or a mixed selection. After you've been to to display room, you can point out which ones you want to try and avoid having to go through any that won't be to your liking. Service personel is well trained and can help you out if you are not as experienced in the regional wines, so don't be shy and just ask for help when you need it.

Really wonderful place made better by the staff. Clement walked us through 8 wines we tasted and was as knowledgeable and pleasay as you can imagine. People come to take a picture of the oldest vine in the world. They should stay for the wine.

Tried orange wine for the first time in Maribor, Slovenia — a peaceful spot by the world’s oldest grapevine (over 400 years old). The wine was soft with a lovely floral aroma. I really enjoyed it! The area is accessible, but the cobblestone paths make it a bit tricky for wheelchair users.

If you love wine you must stop and enjoy the oldest grapevine in the world. The wine is excellent and the hosts are extremely knowledgeable.

The castle is located in the centre, which has the great advantage of being almost entirely pedestrianised, and I really like that. We didn't get to the castle, which contains exhibitions of the archaeological and cultural history of the region, because we were there in the evening

There is a museums inside the castle and you can buy a ticket to take the tour. You could find a short history of the region and how Maribor developed, also there armours, uniforms, statues, paintings and also miniatures with tin figurines representing the Turkish assault of the Maribor Castle. Overall the experience is nice.

What a value for money! 5 euros (3 for students) for what I expected to be a small exhibition. It is a large museum offering a variety of collections (from the middle ages to paintings to statues) and the building itself is also nice inside and out. It is worth a visit.

Recently renovated on the outside, the inside museum is quite extensive and has some really great exhibits on the history of the city and the region. The main hall is incredible and some of the artwork is rest superb. 8 eur entry. Gift shop at the entrance has lots of Slovenian gifts. Highly recommend. Can spend an hour if you go quickly, more if you're reading everything in detail.

Maribor is truly a little gem of Slovenia that must absolutely be visited if you pass nearby! The city center is not all that big, indeed in two hours you visit it all, but it doesn't mean that is not beautiful, because it's completely the opposite indeed! A nice castle in the center of the city situated on a beautiful square, inside there is a regional museum. In front of the castle, you can have coffee and refreshments, there are also souvenir stands available. I recommend seeing this castle.

This is a very nice and cosy Italian restaurant with a huge variety of pizze, some combinations you will see the first time fore sure. The quality is absolutely fine, fresh handmade pizze and pasta as well as delicious deserts, combined with a very friendly service leads to highscore or 5 stars (only the intérieur might be a bit old fashioned, but fits to the concept and flair).

One of the best pizzas I’ve had. This place has a very cosy atmosphere and play amazing retro 80 pop and soul, love it! The menu is extensive with a rich variety of pizza types to choose from. Whatever you get you will not be disappointed. You have the option of whole meal and gluten free flour too! We treated ourselves to a desert in the form of a tiramisu which was delicious. The staff were lovely, warm and friendly. I highly recommend this place - it will not disappoint.

As always I love Pizzeria Pomodoro and their special touch with sauces. In my opinion they have the best pizzas in the whole of Maribor. Kind service, nice atmosphere, just the thing I needed today.

One of the best pizza that I eat in my life. It is always almost full, so its recommended to reserve a table. Gluten free pizza is available too. Lot of kinds of pizzas.

Very badly marked everything here: payment machines, your exit from the parking floor and also the way back to your car. Elevators are not working (24.7.2022) and overall cleanliness very bad. Price for roughly 30 minutes of parking was about 2 Euros. In advance, any bigger car than VW Golf will have a problem to drive through the place. Strongly unrecommended.

Hell yeah! Steaks are best you can get in whole country, chef really knows what he is doing. It is expensive, no denying that, but you don't go here daily (unless you have too much money), but for special occasions it is my favourite place in Maribor, probably whole Slovenija. Servers treat you like a friend (respectfully of corse), they make sure you feel comfortable, they regularly check up on you if you need anything. It feels like home for soul and stomach.

This burger is something special. Biting into it felt like hitting every flavor and texture note you could want: savory, tangy, crunchy, soft, juicy. It’s the kind of burger that makes you pause mid-bite, eyes closed, just to appreciate the moment. This isn’t just a burger; it’s an experience. If you’re a burger lover, this belongs on your culinary bucket list.

Don’t know where should I start. First of all- the service. I was friendly and warm welcomed. Second- beautiful interior. And third… best ribs in my life. Everything was just perfect. The restaurant was full, but despite all things, the waiter asked me if everything is ok. Also, I was waiting for a bill maybe 2 minutes. Sadly, can’t give you 6 stars Guys ❤️ lots of love!

Hands down one of the best restaurants I've had the pleasure to experience. Unique in more than one way, the whole experience will take up a hefty chunk of your day (be prepared to be there for at least 4-5 hours) so be prepared and well rested. The staff (along with the star of the show - the main chef) is exceptional, witty and will definitely make your night, the ambient is perfect for the kind of experience they're going for and as far as the food goes - damn good. The dinner itself did cost a bit more than cited on the site, but considering the number of dishes we were served throughout the evening and the show that was put on by the staff, it was still totally worth it. All in all, I would give this a 4.5 out of 5.0 (exclusively because I wasn't ready for this long of an evening), but since I can't give half a star, I'm rounding this up to 5.0 :)

Mak isn't your usual multiple meal course restaurant, everything here is... different, but really exciting, surprising and super tasty. Amazing and down to earth service, great wines, great food! Confusion was dominating my table, and I tried to make sense of the variety of dishes infront of me. I realized it makes no sense, so I rather sit back and enjoyed the performance. A performance where the "boss" was a main character and guests were sidekicks. Unfortunately, me and my wife were tired from travelling and were no match to the expectations. Sadly I have to admit that we ended being a complete amateurs.

If you like a big pizza with a thin crust, this is your place. The crust was nice and crunchy. The pizza was not floppy even though it had plenty of ingredients on it. If you love giant pizzas and giant steaks, then this is the place to visit. The waiters are very friendly and professional, providing an excellent service. Desserts are great - especially the deconstructed cheesecake. On the negative side, the tables are wobbly and lights a little "too dim", such that you could hardly see what you were eating.

I've been here a few times and the pizza is consistently good. There are often new (seasonal) creative combinations that are offered for a short time as an addition to the standard offering. The pizza size is sufficient for two people or for 1 very hungry adult. You'll have fun cutting it with scissors and sharing. Don't forget that you can choose different toppings for each half. The staff was polite but a bit cold and not very communicative. My only complaint is the size of the tables which are indeed for one pizza per table so having more complicates eating. The chairs are also very small and put closely together. Both factors contribute to the feeling that you're not welcome and that they want to make the table free for another customer as soon as possible. And try to avoid weekday lunchtime. Even though the place was empty, we ended up waiting around 45 minutes. Probably due to deliveries.

Overall, not a very pleasant experience. We had high hopes, but walked out disappointed (and a bit hungry). Staff is very friendly and professional, ambiente is nice, food is ok but not excellent. Portions are very small, poor with ingredients and even tough we ordered 4 different plates for 2 people, we were still hungry after dinner. For example, side dishes were only half of one vegetable and it was poorly garnished with other ingredients that were mentioned in the menu. Main dishes (meat) were also small in portion, so for us these prices are definitely not in sync with quantity/quality of the food.

Nice playground. The only problem is that it is unusable over the summer. There are no trees above the equipments so kids can get sunburn very quickly.

Well for till now, it's the most amazing park that I've had visited. There is a lot of green grass, trees, lakes. You could see population from every age there, and people are resting their lives there! I must visit it once more for sure!

Avant Car provided our rental car in Slovenia. From the start till the end it was perfect! Nice staff, good car and all went well! We returned the car in another city and there too the staff was great! We could leave our luggage with them, so we had our hands free to have lunch on the city. And when we came back they even brought us to the bus station where we continued our trip 🤩

Small building with fishtanks, gekon/lizards, few snakes and crocodile. If you nearby it could be ok to visit during short stop there ~30-45 minutes. Terrarium definitely needs some renovation.

It is a nice place to drop by. We discovered this when trying to find a shelter for the thunder storm. A lot of kinds of animals. Seem all well fed. Inside is bit dark and crowded. Ticket price is €5 which I think is reasonable.

Aquariums are decent, but the terrariums are HORRIBLE. Crested gecko barely any foliage, tokay gecko enclosure is straight animal abuse. Same as day gecko, and all reptile enclosures are really empty and boring

It is small on the outside however on the inside there are so many fish and reptiles it was a great trip and we spent about an hour inside would recommend for anyone visiting the city

Very pretty aquarium and terrarium with variety of animals, it’s quite small, but you will se a lot here. I really recommend, great for a rainy afternoon or when you have still some time left in the city.

For a 7€ entry not worth it. Some aquariums and terrariums are bigger and nicer, while others are tiny with scuffed fishes and reptiles. A lot of big fishes are put in tiny overcrowded aquariums. Spiders are put in tiny terrariums with barely any space to move.

I visited an aquarium not long ago. It had some lovely fish and interesting exhibits, but overall it felt a bit too small for the price they charged for admission.
