A unique experience, with an breathtaking view that can only be imagined, ( N.B : there are rocks on the beach, think about bringing water shoes )
Zineb G — Google review
Great scenic garden with amazing views. Worth walking to the top and also get a refreshing swim on the clear waters. You can access the water entering the park.
Carlos L — Google review
"A breathtaking landscape — completely different from the typical beaches of France. After the first cove, there's another one that's quieter and less crowded. If you go a bit further, you can sit on the rocks and dive into the crystal-clear water. The view is absolutely rewarding!"
Georgia K — Google review
Very nice views and beach areas but pretty crowded and rocky. If you can find a spot to squat you will have a good time. Parking is the hardest part once you tackle that you are set.
Sandra A — Google review
Unbelievably busy, paid parking but park was closed for safety. Could still go down to the beach but everyone was so packed close together we didn't bother. Nice to walk about the pathway and take pics but that's it....
Sarah — Google review
Nice clear water. Rocky shore but not busy. Easy hike through the gardens.
Thomas M — Google review
A gem overlooking the calanques. Come with good hiking shoes to make the most of it. Breath taking views. The hack to the calanques is not very kid friendly Pic Nic in the parc by the playground in the shade was very enjoyable. Toilets available on site. Clean and well maintained. No cafe or food. Bring your own.

Park maintenance has seriously deteriorated. There are virtually no signs to help you navigate which is not that much of a problem as there is Little to see

Plage de la calanque du Mugel is a picturesque spot featuring two pebble beaches, ideal for various water activities such as paddle boarding, kayaking, and snorkeling. Nestled within a natural park, this beach offers protection from the mistral winds by the Eagle's Beak. Visitors can enjoy the clean and calm waters while relaxing on the beach or exploring the surrounding area. The presence of lifeguards ensures safety, and there is also a restaurant nearby.
Hidden gem. Needs a bit of a walk - or luck when trying to park close by. It is small so not too much place to enjoy

I do not recommend this beach. The beach was very small and crowded. The water was surprisingly cold. For me, it was not possible to go into the water. The parking was very expensive (2 hours 7€).

(Translated by Google) Small pebble beach, very quickly crowded, even before 10 a.m., but supervised and with a restaurant. The two surrounding coves were closed that day due to fire risk, which concentrated the crowds on this beach. On the other hand, the water was magnificent for snorkeling, teeming with fish; I didn't even need to leave the supervised area for that. Saw about ten jellyfish. The yellow flag was up, which put people on alert. With a mask, it was easy to spot and avoid them. Parking nearby and easy to access, even if it's a bit of a climb on the way back.

Chez Tania is a relaxed hotel that offers accommodation with private terraces, providing guests with an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The restaurant and bar on-site offer excellent service, a wide range of dishes, and beach access. The staff is kind, attentive, and very friendly. The menu is generous and reasonably priced, featuring stunning views and delicious pancakes that are highly recommended. Overall, Chez Tania provides a wonderful dining experience in a picturesque location.
We had a great lunch here, we ordered the fresh fish of the day, dorade, which was excellent! As well as the shrimps & octopus dish. The fish soup for starters was yami. The desserts were out of this world. All this with great local rose wine and the beautiful scenery on the calanque de figuerolles, just perfect! The service was very friendly and helpful.
Vered B — Google review
Nice setting steps from the calanque beach, quiet and off the beaten path, walking access only. Quiet location with sea view. The restaurant was busy, good flow of customers. The menu wasn’t huge but had a variety of choices. Ate the fish and beef. Good meals, nicely plated. The servers were pleasant and welcoming. Suggest coming to eat at 7pm to get the daylight and get started early.
Joel — Google review
A disgrace sold as a “boutique hotel” The place markets itself as a charming, quality hotel — in reality, it’s a noisy, poorly kept youth hostel run by untrained young staff with zero supervision. No reception, no housekeeping (not even once in a full week), no phone to contact staff. The so-called “reception” and office areas are used as storage rooms, always empty, never attended. The tiny “shared garden” faces the snack bar, the restaurant, the bungalows, all the kitchen air-conditioning units, the laundry room, the staff workshop (full of tools and clutter), and finally the public walkway to the beach. Result: constant noise, zero privacy. Wet outdoor furniture, dirty cushions, and swarms of mosquitoes breeding in stagnant water. At night, the beach turns into a party zone — amplified music, shouting, car alarms, and the main entrance left unlocked, with no night staff, no supervision, no security. Several fights and incidents occurred during the stay. For the price, it’s outrageous. I’ve stayed in far poorer countries where hospitality, cleanliness, and respect are worth a hundred times more than this insult at €180 per night.

Our group of five had an exceptional experience at Chez Tania. The view was absolutely stunning—among the best we've seen, even compared to other oceanfront restaurants we've visited. The staff was consistently friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We sampled a variety of dishes from the menu, and every one of us was thoroughly impressed with our selections.
J K — Google review
We had lunch at Chez Tania today and it was a wonderful experience! A unique location, great service with a very attentive and friendly server, and one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Highly recommend!
Claire B — Google review
This place has a beautiful restaurant with very tasty food! It is a beach place but still upscale and classy. I really liked the veggie éntree. They have a dessert tray with about 6 or 7 desserts to choose from. They also have sorbet and ice cream.
Alex P — Google review
We had a nice half day trip to Callanques des Figuerolles and Chez Tania restaurant. It is perfectly nestled in between red rock formations with gentle breeze from the sea to cool you off. Waiters are really polite and fast. We ate traditional Bouillabaisse and kids ate menu enfant. Everything was perfect
Igor M — Google review
Stunning location, good food but terrible service. Waiters took no notice of us, we waited very long for any food or drinks to arrive. It seens staff can't cope with the large number of visitors and don't really care about their wellbeing. Not sure I'd go back, despite the amazing location.

(Translated by Google) The Maison de la Construction Navale in La Ciotat allows you to discover the industrial heritage of the city. Located on the historic shipyard site, it offers an insight into the history of local shipbuilding. During our visit, we saw the permanent exhibition which traces the history of the La Ciotat shipyards, from construction techniques to the large ships that were built there. The exhibition presents numerous models of various boats. A model reproduces the shipyards at the height of their activity, allowing us to understand the maritime importance of the site over time. We also attended the screening of a film on shipbuilding and the history of La Ciotat, accompanied by impressive images of the launches of large ships in the port of La Ciotat. A photographic exhibition is dedicated to the baptism ceremonies of the boats and their godmothers. It includes the wives of French politicians and industrialists from the last six decades. Finally, a team of volunteers, made up of former shipyard employees and enthusiasts of the history of shipbuilding, answers all questions and provides a warm welcome to visitors. It was at this location where the cinematograph was first presented to the public in 1895 by Louis Lumiere, the inventor of moving pictures. The Eden Theatre, which hosted the second screening and remains open today, adds to its historical significance. Visitors praise its modern facilities, spaciousness, and affordable prices.

I love that beach. There is not to much space to lie down but it is calm, peaceful and pretty. Nice to just go and chill next to the sea. Lovely beach with sand, and a nice long gently drop to deeper water perfect for ball sports. Also, there's plenty of parking available along the streets in high season. The sand was crowded as you would expect, but nothing as extreme as other locations we've seen this 2023 season. A star was taken off as the water was unusually salty today - in the end it really hurt the eyes, although that was 3 hours into our stay 🤣

Another attraction of the beach is its infrastructure, which includes restaurants, cafes and shops, perfect for a full day by the sea. The landscape, with its calm and clear waters, is a true haven of peace for families, groups of friends or couples looking for relaxation. However, the popularity of the Grande Plage leads to high crowds, particularly in summer, which can make the area noisier and less pleasant. Additionally, like many urban beaches, cleanliness can sometimes be tested due to crowds. Despite this, the Grande Plage de la Ciotat remains an essential place for those who wish to enjoy the charms of the Mediterranean while being close to urban amenities.

Most of the beach is closed off by kiosks and chair rentals. Beach
Plage de Fontsainte is a charming town beach that boasts a unique pebble shoreline, complemented by intriguing rock formations and occasional buildings, including several inviting bars. The highlight of this picturesque spot is undoubtedly the Santa Maria bar and restaurant, which features a small beach shop and offers a private area with sunbeds for ultimate relaxation. While access to Plage de Fontsainte can be somewhat challenging due to its narrowness, the beach stretches out pleasantly along the coast.
(Translated by Google) Magnificent beach! A little difficult to access and quite narrow, but it stretches out quite long and remains very pleasant. The water is translucent, without seaweed, and it is easy to step in, which makes it perfect for both young and old swimmers. A real plus! The atmosphere is friendly, with welcoming people. A great discovery. (Original) Magnifique plage !

(Translated by Google) Difficult to access and narrow, the beach has suffered significant erosion over the past 30 years. However, it remains very busy when the sea is calm, because it retains a certain charm and very clean water. La Plageolle, also known as Plage de Saint-Pierre, is located in a charming cove that serves as a docking point for boat shuttles from the mainland. This lovely beach is complemented by the presence of Chez Louisette, a quaint restaurant where visitors can enjoy delicious meals. With its picturesque setting and inviting atmosphere, La Plageolle offers an ideal spot to relax and soak up the beauty of the surroundings.

(Translated by Google) Nice bathing bay (Calanque). The water is extremely clear everywhere and caves and bays in the immediate vicinity invite you to explore. It's worth taking the first ferry to Île Verte at 9 a.m. Then the island is still pretty empty. The 10-minute crossing costs almost €50 for a family with 2 children but it was worth it. (Original) Nette Badebucht (Calanque).

(Translated by Google) La Plageolle, located on the peaceful Île Verte off the coast of La Ciotat, is a small, discreet but very popular cove. It's one of three accessible calanques on the island, with a beach approximately 30 meters long, composed of pebbles and sand. The environment is completely natural, surrounded by pine trees and cliffs, with clear water ideal for swimming or snorkeling. To get there, you need to take a boat shuttle from the Vieux Port of La Ciotat (a 10- to 15-minute journey). Once you disembark at the island, a small path takes you to La Plageolle in a few minutes. There are no facilities on site: no shade, no trash cans, and no restaurant. Therefore, you must come equipped with water, a hat, and something to take home with you. It's a quiet and unspoiled spot, perfect for a relaxing day, away from the noise of the city. In summer, the beach fills up quickly due to limited space. It's best to arrive with the first morning shuttles. The view of the sea and La Ciotat is superb, and the overall atmosphere invites you to completely disconnect. A simple, authentic, and relaxing place.
