Terhune Orchards is a popular farm and winery located just outside of Princeton. The family-owned and operated orchard offers activities for visitors of all ages, including picking apples and pumpkins, playing with farm animals, and visiting the Farm Store to stock up on their famous apple pies. In addition to fresh produce, the store also offers plants, flowers, cider, and gourmet specialties.
Try good day outing option in and around Princeton. Healthy does of green landscapes, farm animals, play area, pony rides, and wine tasting available. This place offers something for kids and adults alike. All in all a great family activity option in spring and summer.
Rohan S — Google review
Kids and adults can enjoy the varied play areas and animals, like chickens, goats, and wild birds. There is a woodland trail that has three diverging paths for the nature-lovers. It's cashless, so be sure to have a card ready for any purchases, including pumpkin painting and the farm shop. What an absolutely great farm. Apple cider and apple cider donuts are fantastic!! The pies and wines are great. There are events almost all year long, based on everything from peaches to strawberries to sunflowers. The events include extras like a bubble show that the kids will really enjoy, special foods and wines, face painting, and other activities. Their autumn festivities are fun, varied, and have lots of room. Walk through the fields or pick a pumpkin for Halloween. Enjoy seasonal pick-your-own fruits, or stop by their general store for pre-packaged goods.
Mappening R — Google review
The tour was good if you go in a group like a field trip. You get a guided tour, but I saw others that they had one kid with them (mostly dad's) and they seemed to be on their own. Everything was good

Very pleasant orchard. Visited over memorial day weekend. Had live music, puck your own asparagus, farm stands with house made wine tasting flights and other eats. $7 for 6 apple cider donuts.
S. C — Google review
In May, I saw this farm in an Instagram reel for strawberry picking, but I didn’t get around to stopping by for strawberry picking, so I came for apple picking instead The fall festival was fun, though admission to the Terhune Orchards is expensive, but it is nice going to if you have the money to splurge and good company to go with
Individual C — Google review
This farm is overpriced. It was not worth attending. Their food was overpriced as well. $8.99 for one caramel apple. There was very few animals in the petting zoo. After touching a couple of animals I went to get sanitizer it was empty. We paid $30 a ticket. Their hayride was not enjoyable as their was not much to see. The live band had horrible microphones. If you go here you will waste your money and your children will not enjoy either.
Elsa B — Google review
We visited Terhune Orchards with our family and my service dog, fully aware that only service animals are permitted. A staff member approached us and informed us that dogs weren’t allowed. I politely explained that mine is a service dog, but the staff member questioned it and asked what type of service she provides, in a rather curt manner. I understand that staff need to enforce farm policies, but a more courteous and understanding approach would have made the experience much more pleasant for us as paying visitors simply enjoying time outdoors with family.

With inspiring faculty, innovative programs, and abundant resources, it cultivates intellectual curiosity and leadership. Princeton empowers students to achieve extraordinary personal and professional growth, making it a truly transformative educational experience.
Webman T — Google review
Princeton University is a private Ivy League university located in Princeton, New Jersey. It was founded in 1746 as the College of New Jersey and is one of the oldest in the U.S. Princeton is ranked among the top universities in the world, and is best known for its rigorous academics, prestigious alumni network, and of course, as its well proclaimed beautiful campus. Princeton offers a broad range of academic programs, with majors ranging from humanities, social sciences, economics, and engineering. Its campus is absolutely beautiful. It consists of various large extensive buildings and structures all throughout the walking area. It is very much common to see students alike and tourists taking photos of such aforementioned structures because of their voluminous space and architecture. Princeton's undergraduate curriculum is based on a liberal arts foundation, requiring students to take courses in a variety of disciplines. As stated on their respective website: 4 years of English 4 years of Mathematics 4 years of one foreign language 2 Years of Laboratory science 2 Years of History Princeton also offers a variety of financial aid programs to help students make college affordable. Not only that, but undergraduates also have the opportunity to conduct independent research, often under the mentorship of Princeton's world-renowned faculty. All in all, Princeton University is a world-class institution that offers students the opportunity to receive a rigorous education and learn from some of the best minds in the world. It is a community where students can grow and thrive, and make lifelong friends from all over the world in an environment where young minds are constantly being challenged and older minds are seeking to serve and teach their years' worth of knowledge. If you are a high school student who is interested in attending Princeton, you should start planning early. Princeton has a very competitive admissions process, and it is important to have strong grades, and extracurricular activities in progress while you still have time. In addition to that, I definitely recommend visiting the campus and talking to current students to learn more about the university, student life, and its unique culture it portrays.

Really beautiful campus. I stopped by here and don't regret anything. I loved walking around and seeing all the different buildings and dorms. It was actually gorgeous. There is a gift shop as well. I recommend !

Gorgeous campus for a peaceful stroll. A few gentle hills and plenty of beauty all around. If you are visiting and want to explore, you cannot go wrong with an aimless meander. Many excellent food and shopping choices in town. Definitely one of the most beautiful American college campuses.

Wonderful campus. Brand new art museum. Free entrance, free guided tours.
Leonid Z — Google review
It's beautiful!! It's amazing to walk around the campus. It has a very Hogwarts magical vibe. The buildings, the built and everything about this place has a history (the good and the bad). It almost feels like having a connection with that history while you walk through this place.
Ankita S — Google review
This is a very old school with charm and beautiful architecture. I just walked through the campus, but it was quite lovely. I cannot attest to the education, but from what the school has posted everywhere, it seemed like a very “where are your papers?” university, which is quite something. I will not doc any stars because of it, but I was not allowed in the university chapel because of it (only students, faculty, or staff allowed)- I know it’s a private school, but I thought these places were supposed to be open to all, like their predecessors in England like Cambridge or Oxford.
Kyle H — Google review
Awesome. The atmosphere, the history and the architecture made me speechless. May be the best university campus in the US. Walking between buildings, breathing the fresh air of Princeton city was one of the best memories I have ever had. Of course I am writing this review as a tourist.

I’m still trying to figure out why the staff member came to me (AA) and my goddaughter (Chinese)with a store full of people to let US know the store closed at 4pm. First of all we can read and the sign was at door as we walked in. Smh I truly think that many Caucasians in this part of country aren’t use to dealing with AA’s because they are not well traveled and shallow. Seems they think we need directions even if we have Doctorates and they have a high school diploma!!! Go figure!!! The store is very nice and has a large selections of souvenirs, t-shirts etc. I took 1 star away for the ignorance that resides within the walls of store.
Dr. R — Google review
The campus store is quite large. Not only does it feature convenient school supplies, but also highlights merch, souvenirs, and custom made items like stickers, mugs, pens, and car decals with the Princeton University logo designated on it. Another distinguishing factor of the store is that you can also buy food here. Drinks, coffee, chips, and even dairy items, this is a great place to buy a snack on the go, or in between classes.
Stanley B — Google review
Great place to get your family and friends some souvenirs. They also provide fast food in case you get hungry while indulging yourself in campus.

Tempora mutantur, nos et mutamur in illis, although the U Store seems to change very little. Now in Sotomayor Hall instead of University Place, and with a satellite store over on Nassau Street, my main observation is how condensed everything is now. In a digital age, selling textbooks seems antiquated, and the clothing department where I used to buy my dress shirts for job interviews over at Clio Hall is long gone, but everything else is pretty much intact. Plus it is still a co-op and if you buy stuff, you get a little check from them at the end of the year which I always like. Also, it has not become some sort of corporate affiliated mess. Many college stores get bought out by people like Barnes & Noble. They get upscaled but they lose their soul. This place still has Princeton stamped all over it.

Museums
Princeton University Art Museum, located on the campus of Princeton University in New Jersey, is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. With over 80,000 ancient and contemporary works on display, the museum offers a rich cultural experience. The diverse collections include exhibitions such as Women Artists and Abstractions, Blue Green Realms in Chinese Painting, Landscapes of the Mind, and Picasso Prints.
An absolute gem right in the heart of Princeton! The Princeton University Art Museum is free to visit and offers an incredible collection that rivals larger city museums. What really sets it apart, though, is how thoughtfully it engages the community—especially kids! They offer fantastic children’s programs that are both educational and fun, making it a perfect spot for families. Whether you’re an art lover, a parent looking for enriching activities, or just someone exploring Princeton, this museum is a must-visit. With its world-class exhibits, welcoming atmosphere, and easy access from nearby roads and the heart of campus, it’s truly one of the area’s greatest treasures.

This is an amazing museum. Brand new and well organized!!! Absolutely beautiful!!!!
Water G — Google review
I went to the grand opening very early this morning (around one am) and it was still lively and bustling with visitors! The actual exhibits were a lot bigger than I expected, though they lacked the museum-typical chronological structure. For example, I spent a solid twenty minutes just looking for a certain exhibit. But, overall, I loved the collections they had, and it was a great experience! 🐈‍⬛🏛️

The new Princeton Museum has just opened after years of renovation. It is spacious, informative and educational, and a pleasure to view. Princeton's has and priceless art acquisitions. Understanding each painting, sculpture, or piece is aided by a written description at its side. Artworks from various historic periods, geographical areas, and artists are frequently combined toward the elucidation of themes. Large scale pieces are given adequate space for viewing. Objects range from archaeological relics of 3,000 years or more to very contemporary works. There is also a gift store. This is one of the most spectacular University collections in the United States.

Incredible new building and breathtaking collection. A must-see on campus, and free for all. The gallery design is organic and easy to get lost in--the density of the collection is impressive. Looking forward to many future visits.

This review is based on the brand new renovation of the museum for the people who are looking to visit the university and the town definitely come down to the museum. It is very lively. It's big. There's events. If you're really much an art fan, it can take you hours to look at it. I was very impressed with the new improved museum by the University.

Lovely visit to light filled, visually appealing, spacious museum. Well attended opening day with pre-registered, small group tours throughout the venue, but none so large to make moving about difficult. Highly recommend a visit and plan to spend at least 3 or more hours to minimally gloss over all exhibits.

Ice cream shop
Nestled on Hulfish Street, Halo Pub is a charming and rustic ice cream shop that stands out in Princeton's culinary scene. Known for its artisan ice cream crafted from milk sourced directly from its own dairy, this delightful spot offers an array of flavors that are both rich and uniquely sweet. Visitors can indulge in not just scoops of ice cream but also sundaes, floats, and milkshakes—all at remarkably affordable prices compared to other local favorites.
Lovely place. A colleague who lives nearby recommended it during lunch. No waiting at about 1:45pm on Friday. Lots of interesting new flavors I haven't seen before, but I opted for the basic flavors first and will try some different ones when I return next time. I purchased a pint and ate it all on my walk back to my car!!
Leo L — Google review
Must stop by if you're in downtown Princeton! They have a lot of flavors but they've gotten more expensive over the years. Definitely much less line than The Bent Spoon a few feet away. Parking is difficult since it is downtown. Street parking and parking lots available to pay via Park Mobile
Kirk A — Google review
The best strawberry ice cream I’ve ever had! It was so good and tasted like real strawberries! The line was almost around the block but moved really quickly. Only thing is they don’t offer samples :( so you just gotta commit without knowing what it tastes like. Would definitely come again!
Sahana D — Google review
Good ice cream in a very convenient spot. The cow decorations on the wall were very fun and the ice cream was soft and delicious. The scoops were very generous and not too expensive.
Zhiyun G — Google review
This ice cream parlor offers an excellent variety with a fantastic selection of flavors. Their vanilla is a standout and easily my favorite. It's a must-visit for any ice cream lover!
Amitabh P — Google review
A terrific ice cream spot in downtown Princeton. There were a number of fun flavors to choose from, and I got a scoop of the chocolate chocolate chip and a fancy Parisan hot chocolate to wash it down. Both were wonderful. The decor is a clear throwback to its older pub days, but it gets marks for the cleanliness you want in an ice cream shop. The staff was young but super nice. It was a great finish to the super spicy Chinese food I has for lunch. Worth stopping by.
Alexander K — Google review
Lots of really good flavors. They are willing to do two half scoops to make it a scoop. That’s a really flexible way to try two different flavors. I tried rum raisin and cashew caramel. Rum raisin is a flavor that’s not commonly available and this place had it. Cashew flavor was a new flavor and the combination made it unique. All other flavors were also nice. There is no real place to sit inside so it’s more of pick and go style. They open at noon on Sunday and lines quickly build up.
Vinay M — Google review
We went to Halo Pub as we were told by our friends to try this most recommended ice cream shop in Princeton. It was a Saturday night and about a 40min wait in line and we endured it because we wanted to try the best ice cream in town. So as we got in the shop, all excited with wide open eyes and wanted to try their flavors, we were told that they don’t allow anyone to try any of their flavors….company policy!! That was a bummer! And not to shame them but quite honestly this was probably the first ice cream shop that I have been to in my life which did not allow tasting flavors. 😭 So I went with my time tested pistachio ice cream and it turned out to be just average. I don’t think it was made as ground up pistachio ice cream. It tasted like they put pistachios in a very creamy vanilla ice cream. Other than that…there is a limited sit in area inside the shop which me and my folks used. But be aware that there may be other people waiting on you to vacate that seat. So when you finish your ice cream, get up and leave 😜

Libraries
The Princeton Public Library is a must-visit spot located in the heart of downtown, just a short walk from Palmer Square. It offers an array of highbrow educational materials, tech classes, and film and book festivals. With access to over 145,000 books, it's a haven for book lovers. The library also hosts events for all ages, making it an inviting space for families.
One of the best public libraries I have been to! Third floor is for kids and young adults. The second floor has a lot of quiet spaces and the entire library has tons of amenities. You do not have to have a library ID to use the facilities but strongly recommend you get one if you live in the area. Clean and well organized. Check out the bullet for community events!
Adati T — Google review
This library is a true pleasure for book lovers and those looking for a productive workspace. The spacious and beautiful environment creates a pleasant atmosphere, and the numerous computers make it an excellent place for studying and working. There are also conference rooms available for meetings or group study sessions. Cleanliness is top-notch – the restrooms are always well-maintained and pleasant. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help. An added bonus is the café on the first floor, where you can grab a snack or enjoy a coffee during a break. The only major downside is parking. Finding a spot can be challenging, but if you have a library card, you supposedly get 2 hours of free parking, which is very convenient. However, to obtain a library card, you must be a resident of the area. Overall, this library is a fantastic place for work, study, and reading, as long as you don’t mind the parking challenges.
Mira N — Google review
Hands DOWN one of the best libraries in NJ! I’ve experienced many other libraries in NJ & different states, but this one by far is still at the top of my list! I use to bring my kids here over 6 years ago & it’s still just as amazing, but with new technology, opportunities etc… A couple fun features I love & learned about…Free parking within 30 minutes, self validated parking for library card holders for 2 hours, cute library merch, self checkout kiosks, a library store featuring donated books of many genres, CD’s, DVD’s, starting at just $1 & up, charging outlets ALL over the library, lovely outdoor sitting area on the 3rd floor, also a cool teen section, lots of comfortable seating on every floor, the cafe is still going strong, offering many food/drink options, assistive listening technology, tons of pamphlets for community & library programming, lastly the children’s section is a wonderland of imagination & learning fun, they even have these mini shopping carts for lil people shopping! Last but not least, the staff is just as pleasant & positive as ever! This list isn’t half of what the library offers. But like I wrote above, It’s HANDS DOWN the Best NJ Library..can’t wait to visit again!
Delilah P — Google review
This is where I like to tuck in when the cafes and streets are bustling with students or tourists. Three floors (although the third floor is currently closed for cleaning-week of Oct 6th, 2025) of books and workspace. Stairs and elevators to get you access of the building. Bathrooms and water stations on each floor. Main entrance has a small cafe as well (please note the cage doesn’t have electric plugs at its tables for working space). You can reserve conference rooms but must sign up in advance. $20/hr. Library cards have perks like free 30min blocks I believe but you need to be a resident of the county and show proof of. I felt a little out of place taking calls for work but no complaints from anyone nearby. People seem to really spread out here. It’s a beautiful library and well organized and very clean (side note- it also gets a ton of natural light which is lovely midday)

The Princeton Public Library is a wonderful place to read, learn, and gather. It has a wide selection of books, movies, and other materials, as well as a variety of programs and events for all ages. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the library is always clean and well-maintained. Parking is metered. You get library card without charge if you are student at Princeton , live in Princeton or are a teacher. For others it is subscription based.
Krutartha S — Google review
Very neat and clean, well organized library. It is spread over two floors with a special section for children. The best part is that the library is open seven days a week. Plenty of reading space with chess and puzzle tables, scanners, computers, printers and digital search stations placed all over the library. It is open to the public but books can be issued only by members.
Dhirendra M — Google review
There is so much to do at Princeton Library. At the beginning of every week I always look to see what amazing events the library has planned for the people who are smart enough to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. We go for music class, story time, lecture series and more! The librarians are amazingly helpful and patient and they have private rooms for every thing you can imagine. The little cafe has great food and the staff that works it are so nice!

Ice cream shop
Dessert shop
Thomas Sweet Ice Cream is a well-known dessert shop in Princeton that has been around for over 40 years. They are famous for their small-batch ice cream, frozen yogurt, and handmade chocolates. The shop is loved for its generous portions and blended mix-ins, with the vanilla malt ice cream with Reese's Pieces being a standout flavor. While the atmosphere is inviting, some customers have noted that the seating area can be cramped during busy times.
Thomas sweet ice cream is a really good place! My friend and I visited this place, and we got chocolate chip ice cream and Swiss chocolate malt ice cream. They were both very good flavors. The ambience was great, too. There was initially a little bit of a queue so we waited in line for a few minutes. But the line moved quickly so it wasn’t too long of a wait. They also have a fun mirror to look into! I am sure I will visit again and try different ice cream flavors.
Vyshnavi V — Google review
Lovely icecream with huge portions, friendly & efficient staff & good seating both inside & out. The only negative was that there wasn’t a public restroom, so we had to go for a bit of a hike to use the bathroom! Easy to find on the main road through Princeton, so great location.
Mandy A — Google review
This is a local Gem! If do knit do anything else in Princeton, you have to stop by thus place. The ice cream is simply amazing, all made in house with so may amazing flavors. Thr scoop sizea and big too. I order a single scoop of my favorite Heath Crunch Bar and my cone always looks like a double. Staff always friendly and kwy you try any flavors you want. Plus thr old school carnival mirror 🪞 😅 is a plus, especially if you have kids with you. Every time we are in Princeton we stop here. YUM 😋
Kevin B — Google review
The ice cream is rich and tasty, but unfortunately the double scoop size is really small for the price. All the flavors are very good especially the sweet cream, raspberry, chocolate, vanilla and also cinnamon. Some of the staff, including the tall guy with big hair, need a lesson in customer service, as they are fairly rude and don't know how to talk to people properly. For that reason, I would rather spend my money elsewhere.
Jay S — Google review
Unfortunately I ordered a sundae; while the underlying ice cream was good (vanilla heath bar), the hot fudge was tough & chewy (and neither hot or even warm) and same with the caramel. Kind of a disappointment after the hype.

A famous ice cream spot in Princeton. Very busy during the summers, queues running along the sidewalks. There is ample of seating indoors and outdoor. Not many options to choose from but whatever they have got is pretty decent. Was expecting much more from this place in flavours. Loved that is not too dairy/ milky in flavour. They have blendables also. We tried vanilla & Chocolate raspberry.
Rachana — Google review
Having lived in Princeton my whole life, this place has always been the place to go. Famous for their custom blend in flavors, where you can add anything from Crunch bars to blueberries to Oreos to peanut M&Ms with flavors like cinnamon and Nutella or chocolate Oreo. Not hungry enough though for a whole blend in at the time I went, I opted for just a plain old single scoop. But at $11+ for 2 single scoop cones that were borderline kiddie sized... that were a bit scant on the scoop it was a little disappointing. Plus the ice cream was soft which isn't what a traditional scoop should be. The place is always busy which is great, but I wasn't super thrilled with the quality.
Samantha B — Google review
This place has been around for almost 40years. They have blendable as well as non blendable ice cream with variety of options to choose from. I would really recommend their Chocolate chip, Mango and Pistachio. Small scoops are around $5 and large are like $9.

Nestled in the heart of Princeton, Morven Museum & Garden is a captivating destination that offers visitors an insightful journey into New Jersey's rich history. This historic mansion, originally built in the 1750s and once home to Richard Stockton III—a signer of the Declaration of Independence—has been transformed into a museum that showcases an impressive collection of artifacts and art exhibitions. As a National Historic Landmark, Morven stands as a testament to American heritage.
Great place to visit with a baby! My little one loved looking at the exhibits. Very impressed with the aesthetics of the place and the staff was very friendly! Strollers aren’t allowed but they have a space for you to park your stroller and you can carry your little one. Also you cannot have backpacks on your pack, highly recommend a side strap.
Bridget — Google review
PRINCETON: Morven Museum & Garden is a must-visit historic site, once home to Richard Stockton, a prominent New Jersey figure who donated land for Princeton University, became the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence, and practiced law. Being a prominent figure in American history, Stockton University bears his name. Morven also served as the New Jersey’s first Governor’s Mansion and is now recognized as a National Historic Landmark. The beautifully preserved grounds welcome leashed and friendly dogs (note: dogs are not permitted inside any buildings). Visitors can stroll through vibrant gardens and admire historic buildings, with seasonal blooms and plantings throughout. Events like the Spring Garden Party, plant sales, Fourth of July Festival, and other seasonal celebrations make this space come alive year-round. The path leading up to the monument is lined with cherry blossoms, truly a sight to see, and even more special during the blooming season. Just next door is the Princeton Battle Monument, a striking memorial featuring a relief of George Washington and his troops during the American Revolutionary War. The grounds also include other notable pieces like the Princeton Bell, which served aboard six Navy ships, and a replica of the sculpture The Little Vintner of Colmar. A perfect place to soak in nature, history, and beauty all at once.

A National Historic Landmark, Has significant National and New Jersey History. Built in the 1700's it has seen signers of the declaration of Independence, forefathers, presidents and governors of NJ. Well worth the stop. A little known Treasure, it also has a wonderful garden.

We went there just to spend some time in Princeton and found a gem there. The museum is very well organized. There is plenty of history presented to you, so if you are looking for something new to learn about tge state and American history, this place is for you. I learned a new piece of information about Mark Twain, which i did not know begore at all. Garden is very beautiful too.

Beautiful historic mansion built by one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Richard Stockton (1730-1781). His wife and published poet Annis Boudinot Stockton (1736-1801) named Morven after a mythical Gaelic kingdom in Ireland. Interesting exhibits including the early history of enslaved people at Morven. The house served as the mansion of the Governor of New Jersey from 1954 to 1982. Don't miss the beautiful Festival of Trees until January 5. In the house right next door at 65 Stockton Street, the famous German writer and winner of the Nobel prize for literature Thomas Mann (1875-1955) lived from 1938 to 1941 before moving to California. Note the plaque on the wall facing the street.

College student, Carolyn gave me an amazing, informative tour that brought Morven Museum history to life. The documentation, artifacts and generous time to absorb such rare items is commendable. A $10 senior fee is fair and affordable. My kind of great day, walking and cafe dining in Princeton and breathing in Einstein and history!

Visited on 7/16/25. Morven Mansion in #Princeton, #NJ was home to Richard Stockton, signer of the Declaration of Independence, plus "General" Johnson of the J&J dynasty, as well as the home of five governors before Drumthwacket replaced it as the Governor's Mansion. There is currently a great exhibit on all of the NOT famous people who have lived here throughout the centuries, too, including enslaved people, domestic workers, women, and children, and even pets. Check it out! #HistoryMysteries

Very cool, sort of tucked away experience. We went for the Christmas tree and mantle contest, and those were awesome. We went to learn about NJ communications and Mama Bell as an afterthought, but it turned out to be a far more entertaining and interesting experience than we previously thought. Nassau Hall is a historic edifice erected in 1756 that boasts a memorial atrium as well as a faculty room for school administrators. It was the site of an intense skirmish between British regulars and the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, with Alexander Hamilton's artillery crew said to have fired on it and beheaded a statue of King George. This landmark structure has been beautifully preserved over time, with ivy adorning its outer walls.
I can not express or share enough pictures to explain how beautiful this building is and the tigers. It college campus is just gorgeous. If you are in New Jersey, definitely stop thru Princeton and walk the campus and the town. It is just absolutely breathtaking. The history and architecture are remarkable.

It’s pretty. The outside lawn is a great spot for walks. People bring their dogs and it’s a fun vibe. It’s also a nice place to sit for a picnic.
Angela — Google review
Nassau Hall is the oldest and most historically significant building at Princeton University. Completed in 1756, it was originally the sole building of the College of New Jersey, housing everything from classrooms and a library to student and faculty residences. Its strategic location made it a key site during the American Revolutionary War, where it was occupied by both British and American troops. A defining moment in its history was the Battle of Princeton in 1777, during which General George Washington's forces captured the building, securing a crucial victory. For a brief period in 1783, it even served as the provisional U.S. Capitol, where the Continental Congress convened. Despite being ravaged by two fires in the 19th century, which destroyed its interiors, the original stone walls of Nassau Hall have endured. Today, it stands as a symbol of the university and a testament to its long history, serving as the administrative center for Princeton University, including the offices of the president. Recognized as a National Historic Landmark, Nassau Hall represents a fusion of academic tradition and national history, its storied past deeply intertwined with the founding and development of both Princeton and the United States.

A beautiful park, free to visit. I love it here. With the playground, the sport fields, free areas and shady trees, this place gives you plenty of options to enjoy nature. Sit on a bank and read, picnic with your family or friends, party with your children, grandchildren. The paths are paved, the park is stroller and wheelchair friendly.

One of the best arboretums in the area. There's a paved walking trail that goes through the park, which can be walked in about 15-20 min at a leisurely pace. All of the trees are clearly labeled so you can learn what marvelous sights you're taking in. The Redwoods and magnolias are magnificent. Also for the kids they have a small playground and a large sandpit filled with communal toys, as well as a swing set. The trees here are so beautiful. In early Spring there's two giant magnolia trees that are so vibrant and many other beautiful flowering trees throughout the season.

Visitors can enjoy a mix of high-quality dining options including TGI Fridays, Seasons 52, Bahama Breeze, and fast-casual eateries like The Corner Bakery and Starbucks.
I really love this mall. It’s clean, nice, and well-kept—not too big, not too small. I especially love the bookstore (Barnes & Noble). There’s a Starbucks, an AMC, and lots of restaurants inside.

I love Princeton Market Fair because it’s one floor and it’s never really crowded. It’s definitely evolved over the years and I miss it having a food court where you could just grab something quick to eat. I’m so glad that the AMC movie theater is still there!

Kind of dead now, has a bunch of dull stores empty of people. There aren’t great options for food and almost everything is a full restaurant- no auntie Anne’s like most malls, few quick serve places, etc. also almost always empty of people! Go to freehold instead, it feels more alive there.

Incredibly clean and spacious mall. It's not too big or overwhelming, the size is just right. With a variety of great restaurants (no food court) including Seasons 52, Tommy's, Bahama Breeze and other better quality fast food restaurants like The Corner Bakery, Qdoba, and Starbucks. They have a great variety of stores that are bright clean and spacious. Great finds like the Barnes & Noble, Wax the City, Anthropology, AMC, West Elm, & Pottery Barn to name a few. There are many bathrooms throughout the mall that are always clean and stocked. It's such a nice mall for families with small children and just about anyone because it offers so much and it's NEVER overcrowded. It's also a nice place to meet up for lunch with friends or after work with colleagues. I never feel anxious or stressed out at this mall- I highly recommend visiting.

We loved the place last Spring so went back recently with relatives who were visiting. There was a large group there when we got there so I'm faulting them, but there was pieces of games thrown all over, toys left everywhere on the muddy ground. For such a gem of a place to visit, what a shame it is that people can be so indifferent. Clean up after your kids please! Better yet, make them help you.
Elvy K — Google review
Today I explored the Herrontown Woods Red Trail. Until now, my hikes have mostly been flat and beginner-friendly, but this trail gave me a taste of elevation. It’s a bit rocky, so I wouldn’t recommend hiking it after rainy days unless you have proper boots and basic gear. The trail includes a charming botanical garden and the historic Veblen Cottage, which is sometimes used for yoga sessions (though I’m not sure about the exact schedule). Around both areas, you’ll find chairs and tables—great for small groups to sit, relax, and chat. Every first Sunday of the month, May's Café serves coffee from 9 AM to 11 AM. It’s a lovely way to start your morning in nature. While the trails aren’t ideal for young kids, the botanical garden offers a fun experience for them, including a special gardening program designed just for children. The trails are dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry companions. If you want to spend more time outdoors, Herrontown Woods connects to Autumn Hill Trails and All Saints Trail, giving you even more scenic paths to explore..

Herrontown Woods emerges as a crown jewel within the realm of natural preserves, offering an unparalleled hiking experience that caters to both the adventurous spirit and the serene soul seeking refuge in nature's lap. The myriad of trails crisscrossing through the woods provides a splendid tableau of the local ecosystem, allowing hikers of all skill levels to immerse themselves in the beauty and tranquility of the forest. What sets Herrontown Woods apart is the delightful challenge presented by the rocky terrain, which adds an element of excitement and engagement to the hiking experience without detracting from the ease of navigation and accessibility. The presence of rocks scattered along the trails not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the landscape but also invites hikers to engage more fully with their surroundings, promoting a sense of adventure and exploration. This unique feature ensures that each visit to Herrontown Woods is a distinctive journey, offering new discoveries and perspectives of the natural world. The well-marked trails, coupled with the serene environment, make for a hiking experience that is both invigorating and calming, offering a perfect escape from the monotony of daily life.

It's a park, there are no tickets for entry. This park made me think it was like something that mythical fairs would put together 😂 there were chairs up on trees, trails to go walking, open shed to build your own walking sticks (tools open to the public to use) I think once it's spring the park will come alive with beautiful greenery but in fall/winter time things are dormant but still beautiful. There was also a shed with board games to play and books

I had a fantastic experience at the Barnes & Noble in MarketFair Princeton! The store is beautifully organized, making it easy to find whatever you're looking for. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for getting lost in a book. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, always ready to assist with recommendations or locating a specific title. Amazing selection of books and clearly organized. Their books on sale are also easy to look through. Their downstairs area has a few chairs and more antique books. If you’re ever looking for some cute stationary and labyrinth merch, they got them!
Maggie H — Google review
This bookstore is a cultural treasure and if I had written a review a year or so ago, it would have had a solid five star rating. I've deducted one star because in recent months they've drastically downgraded their selection of books in foreign languages. The large section upstairs has been replaced by a tiny selection downstairs among the used and rare books. I was told that they are not phasing out the foreign language section but it does seem pretty anemic at the present time. Sad that, even in a town such as Princeton, readers are depressingly monolingual. That said, the bookstore is a wonderful place for browsing. They constantly bring in new books of high quality and the used books are most interesting and various. You never know what might turn up. The staff are friendly and if they do not have a book in stock, they will make an effort to find a copy for you. In these post-literate times, Labyrinth is an invaluable resource.

We had my daughter’s fifth birthday party here recently and it was a great experience from start to finish. I was stressed about planning at first, but once I found this place, everything felt easy. Planning was a breeze, and they helped with everything. We communicated over email, which was helpful so I could go back and check details when needed. We also worked with "The Party Fairy" to have Aurora visit, and she was amazing. The kids loved her and were entertained the whole time. The staff were great with the kids, super helpful, and kept everything running smoothly. I would definitely recommend having a party here.

Me and my partner brought our 2 kids here and they LOVED IT. Our oldest is 5 and youngest is 1. The age range for this play place is 1-5, so it was perfect for them! Its a very large open play area for everyone to have enough space to play. There's a sitting area for snacks or for parents to sit there if they choose to. Before entering the play area, you must remove your shoes 👞 , because the play area is a shoe free zone! There's a special baby gated area for kids under the age of 2, so they can play with softer age appropriate toys without running into the bigger kids. For children 2 and up, the price per child is about $19, but you can find more info on pricing on their official website. In general, I would definitely recommend this play place to anyone with children under the age of 5!

Visitors can immerse themselves in the serene beauty of their surroundings while enjoying breathtaking views that make every step worthwhile.
I have taken my dogs hiking on these trails the past couple years. There are multiple options for trails most loop into each other to allow you to easily modify the length and duration. The paths aren’t overkill. There is a main paved road that runs through out the park. I prefer going in fall when the plant growth isn’t too much. My dogs love the running water! There are even tiny crayfish and fish.

There are several routes to choose from—some are family- and dog-friendly, while others lead into deeper woods with a bit of elevation and rocky terrain for a more adventurous experience. I used the AllTrails map to create a custom route and had a fantastic time discovering the area. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re seeking deep woods and significant elevation.

The hike is around 3.1 miles, encompassing natural water body and green belt. However, the park is maintained poorly and the lake has algae and is not cleaned
AJITH M — Google review
Nice hiking trail, though very muddy due to recent rainfall. Trail is marked , but prefer to have download an offline map or follow AllTrails if you are new to hiking.
Amit B — Google review
I beautiful nature reserve, very much recommend for small trails and hikes. There are also bike lanes if you want to ride into the trails. The water reserve has small turtles present, the families visit to show them to their kids, we saw many small children visiting the turtles. The trails are pretty good - white and yellow trails - you can have a long trail nearly of 1-1.5hr around the nature reserve. There are small creeks which you can see along the way. Much recommend!

Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes serves as a concealed treasure for outdoor enthusiasts. The trails at Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes offer trails that match both difficult and relaxed levels while providing spectacular views of the lake. The location provides an excellent opportunity to experience nature through a short outdoor adventure.

The Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail - Mapleton Rd is a delightful escape into nature, perfect for visitors of all ages. This well-kept trail offers a serene environment ideal for leisurely walks, cycling, or running alongside tranquil waters. As you traverse the path, you'll be treated to stunning views of the surrounding landscapes and vibrant fall foliage that creates a picturesque backdrop.
This was a gem of a find that I wish I could have gotten to earlier in the day. I was attending a seminar and googled parks near me. Will plan to make a revisit soon
72ocutter — Google review
This is beautiful and calm place by the canal. People come here to fish, trail, bike and kayak too. We got to see some beautiful birds resting along the trail.
Sai P — Google review
Great place for trekking/running/cycling. A fairly easy path for a brisk walk surrounded on both sides by water. A real tranquil place. Very therapeutic. Found folks conoeing as well. Look like a great spot for non motor water related activities. The foliage now (fall) is spectacular and a natures show at its best. Parking is very limited, which is a bummer. Had to wait for a few minutes before some one pulled out of the park to take their place to park. Other than that, a spectacular place to visit with family, even young kids.
Surdeep K — Google review
There is a short trail loop across the millstone river you can finish within 30 mins. It's good. You will see people fishing on the bridge or near the water. Quite and clean.
Santosh A — Google review
This is a nice trail, at the bridge you can turn back making a loop back to Harrison street. The trail is in a good condition. It is a frequented place, runners, bikes, hikers share the road. In both turn of the loop a small parking lot is available. The western side is stroller and wheelchair friendly.
Mau M — Google review
Awesome place to walk/bike/run, anytime of day and night (provided you have a light). Dirt path is smooth and safe and the views are outstanding and peaceful.
Sebastien M — Google review
It was lovely to walk, run, or bike ride. There's a few spots for sitting, to enjoy the peace and scenery. Sometimes, the Princeton crew team is practicing on Carnegie Lake. You'll likely encounter a few fisherman, kayakers.
Audeliz P — Google review
Beautiful, quite and calm place for walking, cycling, running, kayaking and fishing. There are no sitting arrangements so not good for picnic....

Pizza restaurant
Princeton Pi & Froyo Cafe is a storefront pizzeria that offers a wide variety of specialty pies, hot and cold sandwiches, and pasta dishes. The menu has an extensive selection, ensuring that there's something for everyone. Customers have praised the friendly staff, clean restaurant, and quick service. The Meat Lover's pizza is particularly recommended for its generous meat toppings and affordable price. Additionally, the chicken parm pizza and Hawaiian pizza are flavorful with just the right thickness of crust.
I got chicken parm pizza (right) and Hawaiian (left) both flavorful, the crust wasn't too thick but it also wasn't too thin. I loved it and was stuffed after two slices. Definitely recommend!
Alex S — Google review
Great pizza. Service was quick with plenty of seating. Meat Lover's pizza was just the right of meat goodness. Two slices and a medium soda for less than $10. Great deal. Decor is also really cool including a large print of Einstein.
Donovan M — Google review
Overall pretty good pizza and a decent price for the Princeton area. TONS of choices on the menu, so everyone is guaranteed to find something they like! Friendly staff & clean restaurant. The wait time for a fresh pizza was pretty short, about 15 minutes. Irrationally delicious!😋
Ella W — Google review
I really like independent pizzerias and Italian restaurants. This place leaves a lot to be desired but it is a true Pizzeria and it is right in the middle of Princeton in a very convenient location with plenty of seating. I'm going to give it five stars and that's the way it is.
Lawrence G — Google review
Offers gluten-free, vegan, and is our go-to place for a pizza, hoagie, pasta, salads and more. They also offer kids menu, and their menu allows you to customize you order anyway you like it. On their website, they have a online ordering service, if you don't feel like going to the store, and if you want to go to the store, it has space and is usually not crowded. The store is also clean, and located right on main street. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a delicious meal for anyone who comes.
Bodie — Google review
I come here atleast 2 times a month. They’ve recently went up on their prices and changed their menu. I used to order pizza fries all the time. Just got them and they charged me extra for the sauce and didn’t even put the sauce on my fries before the mozzarella, they simply placed it on the side. Definitely will limit how I much i come here now.
Brielle B — Google review
Have been coming for years - know Sal the owner/manager and the staff. They recognize and are genuinely friendly to a long-time customer like me. The new staff (as of last few months) is far nicer than the few months before and like to good old days. Wide selection, one of the few reasonably priced places in Princeton and a good option for sandwiches, pizza, lunch salads. Of course, there are many restaurants nearby, but instead of an $8 something sandwich like at Princeton Pi expect to pay double that. Would love to do something like Agricola everyday but I would rather spend $8-10 at Princeton Pi and not go broke. Large amount of seating, has been a go-to place for me for years, never got ill, never was mistreated.
Evangelos G — Google review
Oh god the grease! The pizza has so much grease, it's everywhere! you put your plate down on the clean table, you pick up the plate 15 seconds later and there is grease under the plate. How did it get there? Nobody really knows. I accidentally soaked my shoe, how does this even happen? Now while it was my fault i got the grease on my shoe, the fact that the shoe was soaked is incredible. When you pick the pizza up it's like picking up a river, except instead of water it's grease, and I'm talking amazon river levels. The pizza? it's ite.

The Clarke House Museum, located in Princeton, NJ, is a historic house that holds relics from the American Revolution. It offers a short but informative visit with artifacts and insights into the Princeton battlefield and its surroundings. The site was where Washington achieved victory over the British during the 'Ten Crucial Days' of the American Revolution. Despite being closed due to COVID-19, it's still worth visiting to appreciate its historical significance.
The history here is unbelievable! Highly recommend a guided tour.

nice collection of artifacts. rifles, swords, clothing and photos. tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. there is a second floor where there are beds, furniture and other household items. when visiting house you must go around to front of house that faces away from road and ring bell to be let in for tours. the small building next to house is a bathroom.

Woodfield Reservation is a 100-acre natural forest located in Princeton, offering visitors the chance to explore its trails and observe a variety of birds and wildlife. The reservation, situated along the slope of Princeton Ridge in the northern part of town, provides a peaceful setting for outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy hiking through well-marked trails that wind around the area, providing opportunities to experience the beauty of nature.
This was one of the best parks I’ve been to nearby. It’s closed off, and when we visited there was literally no one else there. There’s a decent amount of trails, and it was stunning even in the winter. I can’t wait to go back in the summer to see how beautiful this place is in bloom! Both the council rock and tent rock were impressive and it was lovely to sit and rest on council rock for a bit. Definitely recommend to anyone in the Princeton area !
Clotilde T — Google review
Very beautiful with lots of birds, including numerous oven birds. Lots of interesting plants, but sadly, also numerous invasive plants. Wondering what the big "old growth" trees are. See photos.
Don G — Google review
A little overgrown but a gem of a hike for a half day expenditure around birds and nearly nobody else. Dogs love it. The pond is beautiful.

Highland S — Google review
It was beautiful but muddy as all have said. We took the short scout loop and be aware, the bridge over the creek is almost totally rotted out! They “fixed” it by laying planks. It was super sketchy and I didn’t want to cross, but we made it without falling through. If you take the 1 mile scout loop be aware this is what awaits you at the end! Otherwise a very pretty trail, just not well maintained.
Tara R — Google review
Nice hiking trail. We heard lots of birds. The big rock is kind of cool. Yellow trail is well marked. There are lots of roots so wear some good shoes. I like that the trail winds around and goes up and down and isn't completely flat like most places in Princeton. Also, it's mostly shady and cool. I didn't care for the blue trail much. It's very overgrown so wear some pants! Unfortunately, we somehow managed to miss the waterfall.

A beautiful peaceful trail. Took yellow trail well marked. Good trail for bird viewing. Very nice streams, mushroom an unusual rock formation called tent rock. Trail is well maintained but can be muddy in some areas after rain

Pottery Barn Kids is a high-end retailer that offers a wide range of stylish furniture, bedding, toys, and more for babies and kids. Customers have praised the exceptional service provided by staff members, with one customer mentioning how they received incredible help in choosing items for their new nursery. Another customer appreciated the helpful assistance from the manager during furniture pick-up.
Patty was such an incredible help. I walked in having no idea what I wanted for my new nursery and walked out having half of it purchased. She went above and beyond
Sam C — Google review
I went there with the intention of purchasing a nursery chair. The guy at the front was very kind , but two employees were sitting in chairs. They were bragging about how great the chairs were. Why not get up and let me try them out? My brother convinced me to walk away because he thought they were rude. I found the employees aside from the one trying to help as very uninterested in making a sale. Sadly, there are such few baby furniture stores in the area.
Ritika A — Google review
I had started my baby registry with Pottery Barn online and went to the store to add more things to the registry. HUGE mistake the staff is not interested in helping you. I was frustrated and left. The sad this is, this is not my first bad experience with location. I had to buy a few things for my friends registry's and I always left the store frustrated as hell. No one greets you when you walk in, no one comes over to see if you need any help or do they care if you got what you needed. Based on this I will be buying my items from my trusted Restoration Hardware. A little more pricey but so worth it.
S R — Google review
I went in today to get a quilt for my daughter an the young lady that was attending me was very rude not PB standards at all didn't care at all about me as a customer. I was skeptical about going to this store beacuse of the low rating but it was the closest to me. Now I know why it has such low rating!!The guy that works there thats was attending another couple was very nice to look up in the pc and said they had 3 quilts in stock in the store and she took forever back there looking for it and came back empty handed and there was other customers who were waiting to purchace and be attended and got tired and left she came back empty handed too I was so upset beacuse online it said the store had the quilt thanks to the very nice gentlemen that works there too he knows how to treat a client and has PB standards went to the back room again and found the quilt. I had to wait more than half hour but left with the quilt thanks to gentlemen that really wanted to help me unlike the first sales rep she forgets where her paycheck is coming from this store needs to get more people that has PB standards beacuse there loosing a lot of customers from what I saw im not ever going to visit this store again I don't even write reviews but I was so upset with how nasty that young lady treated me and for how long I waited I just had too I hope corporate reads this and do something about it beacuse this store could be doing so much better.
Areviry R — Google review
I went in to make my baby registry, they assisted me fine, took notes on what I wanted, a few big ticket items like crib, stroller and some sheets and few other things. The woman said she wud enter for me as I filled all the paper work out. I left. Went to William's Sonoma and tried to enter my email, the stores r linked for discounts. They cud not find it. So I went back to pottery barn kids to double check it was put in, was reassured can take 48 hours. A week later went to sign in and add items.. No account was made! I had to reenter everything, hoping was the correct information. Flet like a waste of time. Also, a customer who was shopping for a stroller knew everything about it, features and all, vs. Other strollers.. the staff just stood by and added nothing. She knew so much more than their own staff. Sad considering their stuff is not cheap, u wud expect more from customer service.
Eliza M — Google review
I was ordered online seat for the kids after 10 minutes I decide I don’t want it - I call then back in 10 minuets to cancel order Lady on the phone She say it’s cancel by the time I don’t receive any email for cancellation order - after like five hours later I called them back to verify if the order was canceled guess what wasn’t called - Scam scam scam they charge $10 for returns
