National Parks
Morristown National Historical Park, located in Morristown, is a significant site from the American Revolutionary War. It covers 1,200 acres and was home to over 12,000 members of the Continental Army during the harsh winter of 1779-80. The park features historical sites such as Jockey Hollow where George Washington and his troops endured the coldest winter on record.
Morristown National Historical Park is a unique and terrific historic park located in Morristown, NJ. The park consists of four different sites including: Jockey Hollow, Fort Nonsense, the Ford Mansion, and Washington’s Headquarters Museum. If you’re planning to see all of the sites of the park, come prepared to drive to them and also plan your trip to be a few hours. It is best to start with the Washington’s Headquarters Museum in the park. Here there is a nice movie presented about the importance of Morristown during the Revolutionary War. Thousands of artifacts are on display in the museum. Some of the best include George Washington’s inaugural sword, rare books from the Colonial area, a harpsichord, Revolutionary War military wares, and objects from everyday life in the eighteenth century. The rangers at the museum are helpful and willing to answer any question. Near the museum is the Ford Mansion. The Ford Mansion is a must see as it is where George Washington stayed while at Morristown. Tickets are given at the museum on a first come, first serve basis. Fort Nonsense provides an excellent view of the city of Morristown. Here the outline of a fort that was built on the orders of George Washington can be seen. It also provides a nice place to picnic or take a short hike. At Jockey Hollow you can see the re-creations of the Continental Army’s campsite. There are several exhibits here about camp life and the different units that made up the Continental Army. This is also a great place to take a walk. The park offers a lot to do even if you’re not a fan of history. The exhibits in the museum are presented in a lively and engaging way. Though it may not be as well known as other Revolutionary War historical parks, Morristown presents a great park for everyone to see!

This is an awesome historical park to visit in Morristown! There are three main areas you can explore, each offering different experiences. I started at the museum, which is physically in Morristown. The museum has detailed exhibits on Washington and his troops’ experiences while staying in the area. The exhibits are well done, and there are maps available. I then went to Fort Nonsense, which is not far from the museum, where I got to read a number of historical plaques and look toward NYC at an overlook. On a clear day, you can see the tops of some of the tallest towers in NYC, including the Freedom Tower. To end my trip, I went out to Jockey Hollow. There are many hiking trails and historical markers at Jockey Hollow. I saw some preserved soldier huts and the Wick Farmhouse. I toured the Wick House on a guided tour with a ranger for free. I would love to go back and hike in this area! Overall, great park!
Sam L — Google review
Very informative. We loved walking around and looking at all the artifacts and replicas. The 15 minute video was informative. We did do the tour of the mansion. Tickets are free but the tour is only at certain times. The tour guide was excellent. He spoke loud enough to be heard by the entire group and waited until the group was all together before continuing with the discussions. Really enjoyed it.
Joann L — Google review
We were passing through on the 4th of July on a road trip and we stumbled upon this wonderful historical site. The Ford house was also open (where Washington actually lived) and we were able to tour it, as well. Because it was the 4th, there was a reenactment, reading of the Declaration of Independence, and musket firing. What a delight!
John C — Google review
An awesome destination to visit for history and NPS lovers! Seeing the museum with some of George Washington's personal belongings was amazing. The grounds are also fun to explore and walkthrough. There was a fair amount of construction going on when I visited so be aware. I also drove through the Jockey Hollow area and it was a very peaceful place to go for a walk.
George F — Google review
The Visitor Center, Ford Mansion and Jockey Jollow- where Washington and his troops spent a horrible winter, better than Valley Forge-- are fascinating pieces of American history. The museum is both informative and interactive, whether you're an adult or a child. Small kidsight find the Ford Mansion, where Washington headquartered, a bit dull. We drove through Jockey Hollow on the history trail, but there are also hiking trails. The walk to the recreated soldiers' huts but is steep and on dirt and gravel, not handicapped accessible. A great way to spend the day, especially with the country's 250th birthday coming up in 2026.

Throwback to the times of American revolution. It feels great to be at the same place and actual room from where George Washington commanded his armies. Definitely worth the visit!

Located on South Street, Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) has been a hub for live entertainment since 1937. With over 200 performances annually, including family-friendly shows during the day, MPAC offers a diverse range of events such as classical music, modern dance, and theatrical performances. As a nonprofit organization, it aims to entertain and educate both locals and tourists while promoting the rich cultural history of the region.
We saw the Newsboys last night at the Mayo Performing Arts Center. It was the most amazing experience we have ever had! We had from row seats which was such an awesome experience! Michael killed it! He was just amazing. The whole band was so amazing and really interacted with the audience! Would definitely recommend front row seats. This was the second time in five months that we have seen them. We can’t wait to see them again! All the staff at the Mayo Performing Arts Center were so friendly and helpful. Just a wonderful experience. We are sad the night is over, but we are looking forward to seeing them in the future!

Tucked right into the heart of downtown Morristown, this theater brings a steady stream of live performances, comedy nights, and intimate productions to the local scene. The venue has real charm, but fair warning—parking can be a bit of a hunt. Your best move is to find a lot nearby and prepare for a bit of a shuffle when the crowd spills out after the show. Still, once you’re inside, the experience is absolutely worth it. It’s one of those places where every seat feels close to the action.
Jamil M — Google review
I had an amazing experience at the MPAC in Morristown last night. I was a flustered mom as we were late due to parking and then I could not get the tickets to load on my phone. Every single staff member I spoke to was incredibly friendly, helpful, and patient. One gentleman even offered to get a cup of water to help me stop stressing. They guided us to our seats and offered booster seats for the kids and just made the entire night special for my family. We truly appreciated their warmth and hospitality! The performance was fantastic as well!
Rebecca C — Google review
What a beautiful venue. Parking isn't bad. Good view of the stage from most seats. The staff was almost suspiciously very nice. Friendly, attentive. Great experience.
Rich Q — Google review
We were there last week to see The Addams Family musical. I grew up with the Addams family and thought, a musical. Hmm, not sure about that. Well, what a show! The production was amazing, the cast was fabulous, and the venue never disappoints. This is a great place with amazing events. If you ever have the opportunity to attend an event here, you will not be disappointed. We've seen many shows here and hope to see many more!
Debbie C — Google review
Great location. Many restaurants along the way. Easy access to parking for $10-20. Workers are attentive and pleasant. I went to see a comedy Marcelo and a show Tina. Highly recomend.

Wonderful venue! Went to go see a concert and had a great time. Seats were incredibly comfortable. Great lobby with food and drink options.
Robert B — Google review
My wife and I left during intermission. While the performers were amazingly talented, the violence was too much to bear. The sound was not great, so we could only depict story line from what was seen. We have seen scores of plays, musicals and concerts of many genres, but this is THE FIRST we ever left before final curtain. This has NO REFLECTION on talent or on MPAC.

Park
Morristown Green, the site of George Washington's headquarters during the Revolutionary War, is now a park that hosts various town festivals and events. With a rich history spanning three centuries, this two and a half-acre historic park in Morristown's center has served as a military base, training ground for militias, and even witnessed public executions. It offers valuable insights into America's military past.
We really enjoyed the Jazz & Blues festival. Well organized, great lineup and a good crowd. A surprisingly good venue for a music fest. We arrived around 5:30 and managed to find a spot towards the back but the sound was good.

They had a Lafayette parade and special program on the Green. It is a nice Green space with a statue of Hamilton, Lafayette and George Washington meeting

Its a nice place to walk your dog or sit and relax with your pet. I bring my dog here everyday. She always has to roll around on the grass, without it her walk isn't complete.
Roselle N — Google review
It's a nice place to hang, to get to know people, and to relax with your friends or pets. Very much a hang out spot, and I tool these photos during the Morristown Fall Festival, which itself was a fun occasion!
Jordn-William S — Google review
This park at the heart of Morristown is one of the few surviving colonial-era greens in the state. Established as early as 1715, it served as a communal hub where townspeople grazed livestock, drew water from a shared well, and gathered for religious, political, and social events. During the Revolutionary War, it became a military parade ground--General George Washington even supervised drills from nearby Arnold's Tavern. What makes Morristown Green especially notable is its rarity. While many American cities were originally designed around central squares or commons, only a fraction have preserved them as active public parks. Think of Boston Common, New Haven Green, or Savannah's many squares--each a living remnant of colonial planning. But in New Jersey, only Morristown and Newark still retain their original greens in recognizable form. After stopping to visit Morris Frank and Buddy, we walked this square and enjoyed the pleasant space, the many statues and monuments and then a bench. And then back to the Sprinter for more driving.
Bruce I — Google review
The park is a nice place to get some fresh air and enjoy the outdoors. It has plenty of open space, clean paths, and is great for walking, relaxing, or spending time with family. It can get a little crowded at times, and parking isn’t always easy, but overall it’s a peaceful spot to enjoy nature.
Svetlana — Google review
Worth the stop to absorb the history! I put this on my trip agenda after discovering my great-uncle was died in the vicinity while serving here with the Continental Army back in 1777. The records are unclear whether he was buried at the Baptist church that once stood on the green, or behind the Presbyterian church across East Park Place. We took some goofy touristy photos of the statue in the park commemorating Washington, Hamilton, and Lafayette. Then we braved a crossing to check out the Presbyterian churchyard and found a very nice marker commemorating all the RevWar soldiers who died while encamped here.

The Frelinghuysen Arboretum, located on East Hanover Avenue, is a stunning 127-acre botanical garden and a hub for horticultural activities in the region. The arboretum boasts a picturesque Colonial Revival mansion surrounded by well-maintained gardens featuring native and exotic plants, spring-blooming shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, fall fruit and foliage, and shade trees.
A truly delightful park – beautifully maintained and incredibly spacious. The grounds are immaculate, the house is charming, and the flower garden is simply magnificent. Every corner feels thoughtfully cared for. It’s a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature’s beauty. Highly recommended for a peaceful and inspiring visit!

Wonderful place in Morristown, it’s a hidden gem in the area. Many varieties of flowers and plants are there. Walking trails are also great. Good place for family gatherings. Many bees are around, so beware when you come with kids. Ample parking 🅿️ spaces available.

1. Walkability – A wonderful place for a peaceful walk. The trails and paths are well laid out and surrounded by beautiful trees and gardens. 2. Photography – If you love nature photography, this is a must-visit! So many picturesque spots with flowers, textures, and serene corners. 3. Maintenance – The arboretum is well-maintained, clean, and clearly cared for. The gardens are lovely and inviting. 4. Parking – There is parking available, which makes access very convenient. 5. Hours – My only issue was that I arrived around 9:00 AM (as listed on Google), but the main gate was closed. I had to leave and return around 10:00 AM when it was open. It would be helpful if the hours were clearer or updated online. Overall: A beautiful, calming space perfect for walks, photos, and a quiet moment with nature. I’ll definitely return!

The Frelinghuysen Arboretum is an absolute gem—a beautifully maintained oasis that feels like a living work of art. The grounds are impeccable, with thoughtfully laid-out paths leading to vibrant flower beds, perfectly pruned roses, and serene woodland corners. It blends elegance and natural beauty so well, from the stately historic mansion to the scenic lawns and winding trails. Whether you’re a gardener, photographer, or just looking for a peaceful escape, it’s truly exceptional. Highly recommended for anyone who loves beautiful, well-kept gardens.

My family and I had such a wonderful time at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum today! We tried the scavenger hunt and it was such a fun way to explore the park while also learning about the different plants and vegetation. It made the visit interactive for all of us, and we’re already looking forward to coming back and doing it on a monthly basis. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and so well maintained! It's the perfect place to stroll, relax, and enjoy nature. Next time, we’re planning to bring a picnic and spend even more time soaking it all in. Such a gem in our community!

Went here last year during summer morning and was amazing, there was a lot of birds chirping and squirrels. It was fun to see the little fairy houses built there. The area is really quiet and peaceful to go for a walk or just to sit on a bench and get lost in your thoughts. Recommended if you enjoy nature

Jockey Hollow Bar & Kitchen is a unique dining destination located within the historic Vail Mansion in downtown Morristown. This elegant restaurant offers four distinct experiences, including the Vail Bar, a sophisticated space that was once the library, and the Dining Room, which exudes formal charm. The Oyster Bar provides a lively atmosphere with its selection of raw bar small plates and farm-to-table entrees.
Highly recommended! No doubt the best bar/restaurant in downtown Morristown. Come here instead of 1776 please!! because 1776 is trash compared to Jockey Hollow!!. JH Ambiance 👍🏽👍🏽. History is cool. Bar and restaurant are pretty awesome. Service was superb! Jason (our bartender) was great! Made me a perfect Old Fashioned and he even toured us to the other bar of the restaurant. That’s service! We had oysters and they were on point! I will come back here to check out the restaurant. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Great food, great service but if you're looking for a quieter atmosphere, this is not the place. Don't get me wrong, the ambiance is great if you're looking for the bar scene. If you're looking to enjoy your meal without people standing around you then this is not your place. The food was amazing and the drinks were to die for! Kudos to the chef, our waiter and the bartender.

The Washington Room is always the best experience. The staff were amazing and made it feel very welcoming from the moment we sat down to the moment we left. The food was extremely delicious and the whole experience is why we've been coming back to celebrate our anniversary for the past 4 years and probably many more years to come. Pro tip: always get the octopus

Jockey Hollow Bar & Kitchen is a must try. The interior and exterior architecture is beautiful. We sat at the Vail Bar for Happy Hour for 1/2 price glasses of wine and draft beer. The wine selection is excellent and the beer choices adequate. The $2 oysters were super fresh. The hummus with Calabrian peppers and double smash burger w/fries were delicious. The service was impeccable thanks to our bartenders Taylor and Gabriel.

I wish I had something bad to say about this place but honestly everything was incredible from start to finish! From the old world decor to the amazing martinis to the downright delicious cheddar biscuits. This is my new favorite haunt! And do yourself a favor & get a drink at the bar a nice burger and explore !

Disappointing experience second time as well. We reserved to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food and service has become mediocre sadly. All server staff needs lots of training. We requested to clean our table as something was spilled after the appetizer round and the lady ignored nodded and walked away. Then again asked the server and he decided to clean. The server were new not experienced to serve at a fine dinning restaurant more better suited if they work around at a taco joint. I ordered a whole branzino fish - which was served head taken off, medium to small whole fish by itself on top of two soggy egg plant slices full of seeds. They don’t go well - soggy eggplant with fish. No other sides at all - the sever didn’t suggest that we should order a side of anything as the fish literally comes by it self with some sauce and topped with little green on it, you are eating oily grilled fish without any spice by itself - where is the chef’s creativity!? Why didn’t the server mention to order sides that can go with it. My son ordered a pasta - you see the picture below pasta was watery!! With pieces of octopus floating in the pasta. How can you make and serve watery sauce pasta with more white beans and less pasta - truly unimpressed. Apparently, the chicken was made good no complains other than the sever making a fuss about replacing broccoli raab with quinoa, a simple small request by guests spending over $500 in food and wine was accommodated after a long discussion, thankfully. (This was mentioned in the allergy section by us saying no pork no broccoli raab) Appetizers were excellent. Try the salads, octopus and oysters all three were excellent!! Dessert cheesecake and chocolate cake were okay as they should be. Nothing special.
Tina G — Google review
Our server, Ryan, was great! He went out of his way to tell us the specials and show us what they look like before we ordered. He was very attentive and answered all our questions.
Ivette U — Google review
We came for Valentine's Dinner. We waited 30 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink, another 30 for our appetizers, and another 30 for our entrees. Our waiter was uninformed about the menu, barely said a word to us, and never once asked us if we wanted another drink or how everything was. Twice the waiters tried to bring us dessert when we hadn't received our main course yet. We were never asked if we wanted coffee or another beverage with or after dessert. The food was absolutely delicious, but we ordered the $38 duck supplement for two, which was mislabeled as a supplement when it was a replacement for the entrees, which the waiter was unaware of. We paid $38 extra to replace our entrees with one that was not nearly large enough for two people. It was, however, delicious. Whenever we've come in the past, we have always had a great time. It is an absolute travesty that on a special night like valentine's night, everything fell apart. We paid nearly $150 per head after "supplements" and cocktails, and I would be disappointed at the experience for 1/3rd that price. I would never come back for a special occasion, which is a shame because of how much we love the restaurant on a normal night out. The only reason I'm giving an overall three stars instead of two is because our previous experiences at the restaurant have been much better, and the food was quite good even if it took us forever to receive it and it wasn't quite what we were expecting based on the menu and our waiter's clear lack of awareness of what he was serving.

Ford Mansion, located in Morristown National Historical Park, is a historic American home constructed in the 18th century. Built by Jacob Ford Jr. in the Georgian style, it served as a winter encampment for the Continental Army from 1779-1780. The mansion offers an intriguing tour of the house where George Washington and his staff spent the winter during that time period. Visitors can obtain free timed passes from the museum on-site to explore this unique piece of American history.
Historic house at Morristown national historic Park. If you like history this is a must see. Very well maintained. Furnished well. There is a small gift shop and also a small museum in the gift shop building/visitor center that is cool. Be sure to check out the bottom floor for exhibits. Tickets are free but you have to sign up and get them at the visitor center. Tour days and hours are limited. Basically Fri-Sun 11-3. Be sure to check if they are open. They do close periodically for renovations, special events, etc.

The Ford Mansion is one of the earliest house museums in the US and is located in Morristown National Historical Park. The Georgian style house was built by Jacob Ford, who died as a member of the Continental Army in 1777. During the winter of 1779-80 George Washington used the home as his headquarters. Many other prominent members of the army such as Alexander Hamilton also stayed in the house. While the Continental Army occupied the house the Ford family stayed upstairs. To see the mansion you have to go get tickets at the Washington’s Headquarters Museum. Tour times are posted on the park’s webpage. Tickets are given out on a first come and first serve basis. Tickets are free. The guided tour of the house was excellent. The guide gave a history of the house and each of the room’s. The house is decorated as to what it might’ve looked like when Washington lived in it. The guide also added much detail about what the house would’ve been like with so many soldiers present. As with many houses from this time period, it is really unique to see the architecture of the time. In some rooms the ceilings and floors are slightly slanted. The tour for the house is about an hour long and extremely interesting. When visiting the park make sure to see this historic mansion!

Interesting tour of the house where Washington and his staff wintered in 1779-80. Note that you have to get free timed passes from the museum on the property. We got there just before 11 and ended up on the 12 tour and I could see on a nice spring day, you might have trouble getting tickets. Our guide was terrific and it is definitely worth a stop.

If you wish to gain a comprehensive understanding of the events during the Revolutionary war, a must-see location is Fort Nonsense within Morristown National Historical Park. Situated on a high hilltop overlooking Morristown in Morris County, New Jersey, this area served as a signaling point during the war through the use of smoke signals. As an integral part of the Capital of American Revolution, Morristown offers many fascinating attractions including Fort Nonsense and other sites linked to the Revolutionary War.
Fort Nonsense is a part of the Morristown National Historical Park in Morristown, New Jersey. The park sits on top of a hill that has scenic views of Morristown. On a clear day it is possible to see parts of the skyline of New York City. The park is relatively small, but at the sametime it is scenic and historic. You can see the outlines of the old fort and there is signage explaining it very well. The purpose of the fort was an observation and alarm post in case of a British attack during the American Revolution. Such an attack never came It is easy to drive to the top park. There is also a nice walking/hiking trail that can be followed to the location. There is room for about 10 vehicles in the parking lot. If you’re touring Morristown National Historical Park this is worth a look. Come here to enjoy the history and the view!

Tiny park with a super short hike up a grade to the top of the hill overlooking Morristown and surrounding areas. Nice view and a quick little workout.

Great overlook with historical markers. There are a number of historical plaques and an overlook that views NYC. On a clear day, you can see the tops of some of the tallest towers in NYC, including the Freedom Tower. I also recommend going to the museum and to Jockey at Morristown National Historical Park

It's a short drive up the hill to Fort Nonsense. There isn't much of a fort left, this former earthwork fort had a strategic view over the city but never saw any action. Some called it fort Nonsense as an effort to just keep the troops busy. The fort walls are marked in cobblestone in the ground giving you an idea of the size of the fort. It was pretty small.
Trypp A — Google review
We swung by a deli and picked up lunch to eat at the top of the hill at the picnic tables. There are several hiking trails to walk around an interesting history about the location on top of the hill. Great view of the surrounding area.

Not many people know about this place. It’s One of the best spots for viewing sunsets in Morristown! Beautiful in all seasons! Closes very early but amazing place ! Must visit!
Abhinav S — Google review
Hmn well you drive up a lon road and you see a hill and then well thsts it. The views of the city are great but overall not much to see. There is a no fort just some brick outline of where it used to be and forest. I suggest driving because its a steep hill and unless you enjoy climbing most of your trip will be spent on that.
Anibal F — Google review
Nice place with a nice view. There's not much to see, I would recommend the place only if you want to relax, perhaps a little picnic, 2-4 people and that's it.

Churches & Cathedrals
St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Morristown, NJ is a historic landmark dating back to the 1760s. The Gothic style building, constructed in 1911, houses one of the few authentically preserved Skinner organs and a large carillon played by visiting artists during the summer. Surrounded by a beautiful garden and cemetery, it remains an active cornerstone of the Episcopal Church and local community. Additionally, adjacent to the church is St.
This review is for the thrift store, the 80’s St Peter’s Encore Thrift Store. The store is exciting and very affordable. The clothes are in good condition and well maintained. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful! There are some vintage items which are understandable worth more than other items and are well secured.

One of the few truly authentically preserved Skinner organs in the US is located in this beautiful, English-style, neo-gothic church, right on the popular Maple ave in Morristown. The tower hosts a large carillon that is played by visiting artist during the summer. The church is open for visits and prayers for anyone, surrounded by a beautiful garden and cemetery.

Absolutely beautiful, I spent an hour and a half just looking at everything and sitting in the peace and quite. Would definitely be worth anyone time

Listened to an organ concert by a musical director who was at Notre Dame in France. This church is beautiful inside.

One of the main doors is open Monday through Friday most days. Once in a while it's closed. Your invited to come inside to meditate and pray. There are cameras so please don't do anything foolish. Right next door is the Morristown library. You can chill there and take advantage of the bathrooms.

I know that Morristown, with all its early American history ,it can be daunting to an outsider. This thrift is no exception to the rule. Upon walking in , I inquired about any sales. The volunteer rudely said, " At these prices, no." Normally, I would walk out, but I stayed to write this review. The prices are slightly higher than the average church thrift, but the clothes are in pristine condition. I thought the goal of the thrift store was to sell for the benefit of the church not to make the customer, who is assisting your cause, feel embarrassed by asking a question. I may go back... Maybe

We had a great time crafting! The woman who explained the process to our group (2 moms, 11yo, 12 yo, and two 8yos) was wonderful. She took her time and was very clear about how tp use the tools amd helped the kids when needed without hovering. The best part was that moms didn't have to clean up anything. Our projects came out great! Can't wait to go back!

Such a great activity! We all were brand new to glass crafts and had a blast! The staff were so patient with us, provided great direction and much needed encouragement! I would recommend doing a little research on ideas before you go so you have some ideas. It just makes the process less stressful and allows you to focus on the creative process! Also, we saw one of their workshops in action while we were there and it was incredible! Definately a fun thing to do with a bunch of friends! Enjoy!

Our team went there for a team bonding time and it was amazing!! No one knew what they wanted to create but as soon as June (our host) gave us ideas and pointers as to what we can do, it was amazing! She showed us how the end result can be. It was absolutely great!! If I lived in town, I would be going there all the time to create something different and be creative all the time!! Thank you June for a fun experience ☺️

We took the kids there and had a good time. However when I picked up our finished projects and took them home - I found mine had a finger print and smudge in it. I called and was told to spray it with Windex. That didn't work. So- interesting experience. 4 nice pieces and one eh one.

Glassworks Studio was such a fun activity to do with my niece and nephew! We all had an absolute blast making our glass creations. Every step of the process was explained thoroughly for all levels. The staff periodically checked on us and offered fantastic advice, resources, examples, and assistance. We all chose different projects and can’t wait to see everything fired! Fantastic experience all around! Can’t wait to come again.

It's an experience. Wasn't what I expected though. You get there and have a variety of shapes and sizes to choose from which are priced accordingly. Ranging from $25 up. I chose a small vase that cost $66. You then choose the glass pieces you want to use in your piece. Arrange the colors and shapes the way you want and glue the pieces down. You have the option to choose smooth or bumpy for your finished product. I choose smooth. You are allowed 2 hours to make your creation. After you're done its mailed off somewhere to get fired up and shaped. The product arrives 1-2 weeks later, and we got ours back relatively quick. Less than one week. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to find that my piece wasn't as smooth as I wanted. It had some lumpy spots on it. I went back inside and was told that the vase is as flat as it will get. And told they can't take it back to be refired or flattened . Even though my design was based off of one of the existing vases on display and I didn't use a third level. I paid for the experience I guess, which was quite disappointing. Additionally I was under the impressions the block pieces would melt and meld to form a whimsical look. As you can see ut did not. I could have gone to a local place instead of driving almost an hour. Lesson learned I would not return. It still turned out cute at least. And the staff was friendly.

Fosterfields Living Historical Farm in Morristown, NJ is a 214-acre working farm that provides visitors with an immersive experience of farming as it was in the 1920s. The farm utilizes century-old tools and techniques for daily activities such as grooming horses, feeding chickens, and cultivating fields using antique machinery. Loved it here! They have vintage baseball and other historical events on the grounds! Beautiful well maintained buildings and even a small farm! There’s heaps to do here and it’s entertainment for everyone!

Cool combination of the farm and green open spaces / fields as well as historical buildings and family transportation museum. Farm animals are present but they weren’t main draw of the visit. Although mansion is closed for renovation now, cottage as well as few other buildings were open. Short blue marked trail winds from the pond area through the woods to arched entrance of mansion’s road.

I've been several times, but really liked going to the wool festival! It's a pleasant place to walk around and look at the farm animals and historic buildings. They give really cool sheep shearing demonstrations and it's so much fun getting to see how things were done in the past. The kids really love it, but I enjoy it as an adult as well.

Staff were super polite and very helpful. My lady and I had a fantastic time seeing the farm, visiting the museum and taking a look at everything. All the animals were also very nice. The transportation section was very cool, loved seeing the Model T Ford. We'll definitely be back!

This place was absolutely beautiful. So much history. The employees were extremely knowledgeable and so friendly. They wore clothing from 18 and 17 hundreds. The animals were well cared for and so friendly. We dyed silk and spun yarn and toured the homes and walked the property and picked pumpkins and pressed cider. We had such a lovely time. I would definitely recommend and do this again.

My sister and I took our kids here on a Saturday morning. We arrived at 10 and were one of the first groups in. Be advised you need to buy tickets ahead online. We thought the rules would be super strict but because it wasn't crowded, things were more lax which I sincerely appreciate. There is walking involved so wear good shoes for sure! The staff was helpful and kind, the animals all seemed incredibly happy and healthy. We couldn't have had a better day, honestly. I look forward going again in the Fall. I can only imagine how beautiful it will be when the colors change.

Pierogies House is a unique Polish restaurant located in New Jersey, offering traditional farm-to-table pierogies in various flavors such as mushrooms, onion, lentils, and potatoes. The restaurant prides itself on using family recipes passed down through generations to create authentic Polish dishes alongside American favorites like Philly cheesesteak. In addition to their signature pierogies, the menu also features potato pancakes and seasonal specialties like wild blueberry pierogies.
brought my dad here to celebrate his birthday! we were fortunate to get a table inside and enjoy a delicious spread of polish cuisine. i love the more traditional items, but also enjoyed the more modern/americanized takes!! there is also a good variety of vegan choices, which was great for my sister

Stopped by here with my husband and so glad we gave it a try! These pierogis definitely exceeded our expectations! I chose the vegan potato onion and he had the potato cheddar bacon. We both ordered the boiled and they were fantastic. I can't even imagine how much more amazing the fried ones would be! The service was fast and once we placed our order at the counter our order was ready within 10min. Overall fantastic and would definitely come back to try other varieties. I just wish you could mix and match flavors in the same order!

I LOVE this place! I’ve been coming here biweekly for about three years. There have so many different dietary options! I get vegan pierogies with vegan sour cream! Every order comes with free sour cream and wooden utensils! Once again such a great place. A quiet spot for a nice lunch or dinner!!

If you like pierogies, you may want to try this place! Food: all kinds of pierogies to pick from (see picture of menu). We had the feta & spinach, potatoe & farm cheese, and the butternut pierogies. All were excellent ! We also had the potato pancakes (excellent) and the pickle soup. If you haven’t had pickle soup it’s similar to chicken soup with a hint of dill pickle. I loved it and want to make it when we get home. The pierogies can be fried or boiled. Service: there is take out or table service. Keep in mind it’s a small place and seating is limited. We ate in and service was good, however, could have been better if someone checked in to see how our meal was. Atmosphere: clean modern look with mostly hard surfaces. Kind of set-up like a take-out Chinese restaurant. There’s approximately 12 tables inside and 1 table outside. The unisex restroom was clean, but tiny. Summary: boutique restaurant, with very good food for the polish/pierogi lover. We would definitely go back!

4.5 stars - go here in the winter. These pierogies are dense and filling, this is not a light snack. Tried the spinach and feta, Buffalo chicken, and bacon cheddar potato pierogies, which were all quite good. Also had a Nutella filled dessert pierogie that was fun. I'm interested to go back and try other items.

The Historic Speedwell Ironworks in Morristown, NJ is a collection of 19th-century buildings that includes the restored factory where the telegraph was first demonstrated in 1838. This National Historic Landmark site, once owned by Stephen Vail, showcases the history and significance of the Speedwell Iron Works through various exhibits and displays.
Absolutely fantastic! Interactive, exciting, extremely well restored and the guided tour was simply phenomenal. I never expected to stumble upon such a gem of a museum/historic-site here, thank you very much for today's early afternoon of knowledge and fun facts and for all the answers to our questions. Time well spent! Highly recommended.

The Strangest Things event at Historic Speedwell was a nice evening filled with fun activities. I particularly enjoyed participating in the escape room and being present for the séance, which added a thrilling touch to the night. It was great to see that they also offered activities like pumpkin painting, and the apple cider was delicious! However, there are a few areas where the experience could be enhanced. When we first arrived, there wasn’t much lighting, which could have added to the spooky atmosphere. It would be great if guests were encouraged to bring flashlights or battery-powered lanterns to create a more immersive experience. Additionally, for visitors unfamiliar with Historic Speedwell, especially during the fall and Halloween season, it would have been helpful to have someone share a bit of history about the site. Having staff or volunteers at each station telling historical stories would provide an educational element alongside the entertainment. I applaud the actors and volunteers for their hard work, and we enjoyed the bits of history that were shared. This event is for anyone looking to enjoy a night of fall-themed activities while learning about the rich history of Morris County.

Touch of actual history to appreciate a technical progress achieved within last 2 centuries in communications area. Ample parking lot. Retro-Future fest at the time of my weekend visit. 19th century Sci-Fi genre appreciation led me to look up the authors’ names after the visit (leaflets with with short plot descriptions were the ones to trigger curiosity).

First time visit to Speedwell and it was worth the trip. Many old buildings to explore and a fantastic docent to show us around and give us the history. I definitely recommend if you are in the area, all the buildings have exhibits and our guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable.

I love the history in this place. A photographer’s playground or a good place for a photowalk. I walked around snapping shots with my daughter and she enjoyed the walk. Whether taking pictures or just taking a walk, this is a neat place. It’s one of the more interesting places in NJ. Also, notable that it seems to be apart of a National Historic Park. I love National Historic Parks.

I had a wonderful experience visiting Historic Speedwell. The staff was very accommodating when I asked if I could take a tour even though no 'official' tour guides were available. I told them I didn't mind being a 'guinea pig' if one of the 2 newer workers wanted to give a tour. One of them jumped at the chance and she did a wonderful job! The house/property has a fascinating history and the other buildings with exhibits/history text were set up very well. I wish I had had more time to look in the 'birthplace of the telegraph' building since there were 3 floors of information/exhibits. I would allot at least 2 hrs if you plan to take the tour and watch the short video.
Libby D — Google review
The telegraph is without a doubt an important invention and this place being its birthplace makes it worth a visit. The museum was very informative and showed the evolution of communication technology since the invention of the telegraph. While the telegraph is mostly associated with Morse, the museum also highlights the lesser known Alfred Vail, whose contributions are as significant. The entire historic complex is made up of picture worthy buildings, one of which is the home of the industrialist Stephen Vail, Alfred's father. There are docent-led tours of the house but the museum is mostly self-guided. You can book the tour at the Visitor Center. Make this your first stop if you're visiting. We were here for two hours.

Discover the captivating history of Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, a Federal-style mansion built in 1810 that showcases the influential legacy of the Macculloch family. Immerse yourself in period rooms and explore a collection of renowned cartoonist Thomas Nast's work. The museum offers three exhibit galleries, including European and American fine and decorative art collections, as well as the oldest garden in Morris County featuring seasonal displays of heirloom roses.
The curator and guide Cynthia, gave us an excellent tour of the mansion. She was knowledgeable, thorough and very kind to us and our 3 year old. The basement kitchen is a must see. If you enjoy a tour of old mansion from 1800s this is a must see museum. And the garden was beautiful.

This is a unique museum in the heart of the old part of Morristown. You feel as though you are stepping back in time. The staff are knowledgeable and patient and they gave us a careful tour even though my wife and I were the only two people there on a chilly day. The back garden is beautiful in the late winter and free of charge to walk through.

Amazing historical house museum with many interesting artifacts showing the stories of the generations of people who lived there. The curator was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout the tour; no matter what questions we asked he always had an answer. The Thomas Nast collection on display was wonderful. Do be aware that they rotate the smaller drawings on display, since they do not have room to display all of the collection all the time, but it is still very interesting. There are other art pieces and artifacts in the Macculloch part of the museum that are connected to the Maccullochs themselves, including historical furniture and various decorative objects and utensils. The museum gives guided tours and has touchable artifacts and textured art for the visually impaired or for anyone who wants to touch a piece of history. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous and a very restful place to explore.

Local and national history mixed in one beautiful 17th century home, a must for any local or visitor to the area. Their large exhibit changes every 4 months, and they always have some of their extensive collection of Thomas Nast on display. Staff is knowledgeable and kind, and their director very approachable. The 3 acre garden is beautiful all year round, and free every day of the week. Truly an underappreciated local slice of history.

The gardens are free and are accessible every day. Just go through the side gate. It’s a lovely peaceful place to read a book or bring your lunch. Additionally, the facility features Trap Door Escape Room with supernatural-themed challenges for those seeking an extra-unique experience.
Absolutely LOVED this place! It’s always nice seeing retro arcade games and pinball machines I grew up with (the 90s) and even older. I also love how it takes place in an old historic bank and how you can still see some vaults in it. My friend and I came back for the second time, the same night, while killing time to watch a show at the Mayo. Would def come back when I’m back in NJ! I also don’t own any video game consoles anymore, so this would be a good option for those in the same boat haha.

I've been in a retro gaming kind of mood lately and I'm happy I found this place. I wish it was closer to home so I can visit more often but I definitely see myself coming back. It's a little pricier than the other arcade I went to but I think it's worth it. This was the first time I went so it was just to check it out. I think I spent maybe like 2 hours on a Wednesday night. When we got there we were the only ones. When we left there were maybe 10-15 people. They have a great selection of games and pinball machines. They also got PlayStation, nes, N64 with some games on them. The arcades are in pretty good shape and screens in good condition. Some of these games are over 35 years old and play just like I remember. Brings back a lot of good memories as a kid and teen. Next time I come I'll be here for at least 5 hours. I saw so many games to play and didn't get to it all. For me personally it's a great date. Play some cool games and when you leave they're restaurants and bars in walking distance. I definitely recommend this place and will make a day out of it next time.
Miguel S — Google review
Some of the best maintained pinball machines I think I've ever played. Really welcoming and friendly. Pay per hour is fairly priced and means you can try unfamiliar games without worrying about losing your quarters! We stopped by randomly while driving home - I found them on Pinball Map - and we will definitely keep this in mind for future road trips!
Bonnie E — Google review
This place is delightful! The staff are so kind and welcoming to kids with sensory issues. As an 80s kid, I felt overwhelmed and stressed by arcades. By the time I got the hang of a game, I ran out of quarters! This set up of paying a flat $13 for the first 30 minutes relieves so much stress. If you know a Wreck It Ralph obsessed kid, this place is heaven on earth. Pinball aficionados really can't do any better than this. The games are all in great working condition. Also, for me, it is otherworldly to see the exact same curtains and deposit slip stand that were in this old bank since the 70s! It's a fun place. When people wonder, "what makes a town worth visiting?" - this is it: a great idea brought to life with care.
Rachel M — Google review
I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for something like this in the area. There is a nice mix of one player, two player, and three player games. It's $12 for the first 30 minutes and then slightly more depending on how much much longer you go. I think the all day unlimited passes around $33. It's a great system. You just have to press start on any of the arcade games so you don't have to actually get coins, tickets or anything like that which makes it so seamless. They have an area at the back separate a little bit for privacy/parties - and there's a TV there so that if there are kids, they can keep staying entertained while there's play games! There are pinball machines right outside the bathroom, which is so great if you're waiting for someone in the toilet. there are a lot of machines and it was not crowded on the Sunday afternoon. Even adults can enjoy! I also really commend them for having signs by the front, but not only stated when the place might be closed for an upcoming private event, but events they were hosting as an upcoming Halloween party for people to join. They had 2 ps4 stations and signs saying to limit playing to 15 minutes at peak time so others have a chance to play. They have some nice machines outside, which are super creative and not your typical type. The 10 year old and 6 year old we brought both had a wonderful time as did we. Not surprised by the very high ratings at all. 10/10 spot!

This is an amazing place to visit if you love class arcade games or, if you happen to like visiting old banks. This is something that I thought I'd never find myself writing, but here we are. This is definitely the most unique location for a classic arcade that I've ever seen, and it just works. The selection of games is about the best I've ever seen, it includes the classics but also a bunch of hidden gems. And, you can get your pinball fix here too! This is well worth a visit.

Wonderful store for locally made souvenirs. The owner is a very nice man. Ambiance is great. Feels so good to be in the store. I got a hand crafted gift on the recommendation of a family member.

This is a nice little gift shop. The shop itself is very clean and organized, the staff is super friendly and helpful, especially Tracy who helped me look for the perfect gifts! The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for any unique state souvenirs (parking on side streets, metered)

Can't praise enough how CUTE this store is and what a wonderful selection it has! Incredible warm and cozy wooden place where each candle, souvenir, and gift is crafted by locals for locals. My first impression was - what a warm environment. I saw one owner working in the front, wishing a great day to an employee, while the other was carefully helping a customer select a gift. I judge a business based on how they treat people including their own workers so this business immediately got at A in my book. I was impressed by all the high-quality choices they offered. Not only are these products local, but they're also carefully designed and crafted in any case. There were wood carvings, ceramics, beeswax lotions, designer candles, original artwork, NJ-shaped pasta, DELICIOUS peanut butter from Cape May, and so much more - all made in NJ! I was looking for a NJ-themed gift for my friend's sister who lives in Seattle, whom we'll visit soon. As per usual, I was browsing on Etsy for custom soaps, but the company I liked wouldn't arrive on time for our trip. And guess what?! I saw the same vendor's soaps here! I was so happy I could get them as the same price as online without waiting for delivery & shipping fees. When I was checking out, the owner told me all about the vendor and how they're raising money for their daughter's future. By the way he spoke about his products, it seems the store has a strong friendship with each vendor, making the store feel like a community project - similar in this way to the Montclair General Store, another great local artisan shop. I wanted to leave this store a nice review because I felt like this was a local business that really cares and they deserve 5 stars! Also....Funny story... I entered a totally different store down the road thinking it was Just Jersey but after being very disappointed by their gift options, their employee told me I was in the wrong store and pointed me towards the actual Just Jersey! So glad I walked the extra block because the wrong store had me so disappointed😅😂😂

Pizza restaurant
Millie’s Old World Meatballs & Pizza is a trendy, family-friendly spot offering a laid-back and convenient space to enjoy wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, artisanal sandwiches, calzones, and delicious Italian dishes. The restaurant features an industrial-style dining area with coal- and wood-fired pizzas as well as a fried meatball station. With happy hour specials, grilled oysters, and salads on the menu, Millie's aims to create an atmosphere reminiscent of families gathering together on Sundays.
Our server Shane was awesome! He was amazing while juggling multiple tables on a Saturday he remained attentive. The manager was extremely kind and accommodating. Food was excellent. We got the fig and goat cheese pizza but ate it too quick to get a picture. Can’t wait to come back
Tricia C — Google review
Millie’s lived up to the hype. The food was actually exceptional and I can be a tough critic with pasta and pizza. The meatballs in vodkas sauce are actually divine! Ordered family style for 8 and everyone loved all of the plates. Also awesome they offer to go options from their menu favorites!
Kaitlyn E — Google review
Good old world Italian food with a new age flare. Service was a little lacking considering my party was the only table in there. Not sure how the service would be when it gets packed. Had to give the “famous meatballs” a try and see what the hype was about. They were good but nothing really special. Too much sauce in my opinion and a bit overpriced. A lot of the pricing I thought was rather high like if you wanted to simply add cheese to something or a different kind of sauce it was like $3 extra. Pizzas were good but a little overloaded for my liking. Menu is a lot to look at considering there is two different types of pizzas you can choose from so it can become overwhelming. Would recommend it to someone who’s looking for a nice Italian dining experience with a group but would definitely order less food if I went back.

Had such a lovely and unexpected dinner at Millie’s Old World in Morristown the other night. We ended up there by chance after a friend called while we were over an hour away, and it turned out to be such a great evening! We were able to get a cozy table outside, and the weather was perfect. Even though Millie’s doesn’t serve alcohol, there’s a liquor store right next door, so we picked up a nice bottle of red wine. The staff had wine glasses and a corkscrew ready for us. It was a thoughtful touch! I ordered the Meatballs with Ricotta in Vodka Sauce, while my friends had the Meatballs with Fresh Mozzarella in Vodka Sauce sandwich. They loved how they hollowed out the bread and filled it with the meatballs. We also shared a fresh salad, and everything was delicious, served promptly, and beautifully presented. Even though we arrived close to closing time, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and never made us feel rushed. It was the perfect way to end an unexpected evening. Highly recommend!
Laurie K — Google review
Their pizza it’s great, I highly recommended it. But before you order a pizza make sure you try their grilled oysters, and keep the plate with the sauce 😍. Don’t let the server take it, so you can deep the pizzas crust into that delicious sauce.
Gus — Google review
Let me tell you how much I loved my visit…Phenomenal! It starts with the ever so pleasant staff, welcoming and attentive…but the food is the real reason you will be choosing this location to have a delicious meal. It started with the antipasto salad, grilled oysters the the most delicious meatballs with warm ricotta in marinara. I had to stop myself at one meatball cause I had to try the wood fired pizza which did not disappoint…in fact it changed my perspective. We spend our time going to various restaurants that serve wood fired pizza but we do not need to travel any further cause this IS THE PLACE! Do yourselves a favor and get yourselves over to Morristown to try Millie’s. You will not be disappointed.

Great Pizza, service was good, but not great. We went back for more pizza the next day because it was very good! We will be going back when we return to Jersey!

A friend and I visited the Schuyler-Hamilton House on 29 September 2019 near closing time. Despite the late hour, our guide Pat graciously showed us around and shared fascinating details about the house's owners, Dr. Jabez Campfield and Dr. John Cocrane, as well as its significance in Revolutionary America. She explained how Morristown played a pivotal role in Washington's battles and strategy due to its strategic location and abundant natural resources.
This photo is from the postcard I purchased here. It depicts the parlor. This off the beaten path house is a must see for any Revolutionary War or Alexander Hamilton history fan. It's run by the Daughters of the American Revolution I was impressed by how much they are truly committed and passionate to keeping and preserving our national heritage. We were fortunate enough to gave two very knowledgeable women explain the history of the house and how it fit to the Revolutionary War. Mrs. Eliza Hamilton 's bonnet, collar and a lock of her hair were on display. Go to Fort Nonsense afterwards...its a short drive from there with views to NYC. Really makes one appreciate our freedom!

My friend and I visited the Schuyler-Hamilton House on 29 September 2019 shortly before closing. Despite the late hour, Pat was nice enough to not only show us the house, but tell us about its owners, Dr. Jabez Campfield and Dr. John Cocrane, as well as its place in the history of Revolutionary America. She discussed Washington's battles and strategy, explaining how Morristown played a strategic role both in its location and natural resources. In addition to the wealth of information she offered, Pat was also funny and enlivened her discussion through her humor. My friend and I stopped by because we saw this listed on a map at the Morristown National Historical Park, and it made for a fun detour. A great place to visit on an afternoon!

Wonderful place for people who are interested in Hamilton, Revolutionary War history, or local history. It is a small house, but the tour guides make it a big experience, making you really feel the connection of this place to the important events unfolding in Morristown and New Jersey. Only $5 for the tour, and the ladies who work here are among the most knowledgable and dedicated I've encountered. Well worth the visit. Suitable for older children or those who are interested in history.

Washington's Headquarters Museum, located in New Jersey, is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and National Parks fans. The museum features brand new exhibits with interactive digital displays and audio presentations that provide insight into local Jersey history and culture. Visitors can explore colonial artifacts, learn about fashion from the era, and watch a powerful movie depicting the soldiers' struggle during a harsh winter. The museum offers an informative guide to immerse visitors in the historical significance of the site.
Great museum! This museum is free to enter and consists of the museum and the historic house. The museum has several different rooms with original artefacts and lots of information. The museum is self-guided, and the house is viewable with a guided tour only. The guide was excellent, very enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit.

Washington’s Headquarters Museum located in Morristown National Historical Park is an excellent museum. The museum has interactive displays and engaging displays. Before viewing the museum be sure to watch the movie about the Continental Army’s difficult winter at Morristown. Artifacts from the Colonial Era and Revolutionary War are prominently displayed in the museum. Among some of the best are military wares, a surgeon’s kit, rare manuscripts, a harpsichord, the chain from West Point, furniture, silverware, plates, a recreated soldier’s hut, and George Washington’s Presidential inaugural sword. It is easy to spend an hour to two hours here depending on interest level.Tickets for the nearby Ford Mansion are also distributed here. The museum staff is friendly and helpful. If you plan on seeing all of the historical park this is the best place to start. Best of all this is completely free!
Ryan M — Google review
Terrific little Museum. Get there early for the ticketed (free) guided tour. The Ford Mansion is very impressive, the museum facility was spacious, clean and air conditioned. There is a certain sad irony to standing in a room that was occupied by Gen. George Washington, his men and there arms... and at the same time being denied those same rights in the current state of NJ. Overall worth a visit.
Dan L — Google review
The museum and tour of the house/headquarters were very informative. As Americans, we should all have a vivid understanding of the sacrifices our forefathers (and mothers) made for us that we might live in freedom from tyranny. This museum tells the story of those people and their sacrifices.
Bruce G — Google review
A small but packed museum about Washington’s battles in New Jersey, especially the hard winter of 1780. A relatively small but sturdy facility set on a modest park lot, with ample artifacts and information about the war’s New Jersey sites and the Morristown encampment in particular. The Peale portrait and other paintings of Washington are central gems and quite intimate (sort of scary there was only one staff member and no security!). The orientation video room is helpful. The rare book and pamphlet room is worth a peek. Good walking nearby (statue across the street, cannon down the road). Lovely neighborhood to stroll on a nice day. It’s a shame 287 sliced off the area - one is struck by how little room there is of the original Jockey Hallow. Looking forward to the completion of the Ford mansion renovations. Free.

One of the best historical museums available. Being the first national park, it is rich with the history of this wonderful country. The Ford's Mansion is in impeccable condition, and we were delighted to know there is a free tour of the property, which of course can't be missed. The volunteer staff was wonderful and knowledgeable. If you are in Morristown, NJ, please visit this museum it is worth the trip.

Awesome historical site, check out the statue as well! All of the historical documents for viewing are well worth it. Seeing the Washington Irving biographies on the founding fathers was amazing!

Sometimes you forget about the history in your own backyard. Entrance to the museum and tour of the headquarters is free, so the price is right. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and welcoming to questions. The museum has plenty of artifacts and a short movie that you can watch while waiting for your tour.

Tavern Off the Green, affectionately known as TOG, is a beloved local spot in Morristown. This unpretentious watering hole offers a laid-back atmosphere with live music, making it the perfect place to unwind with friends. The bar features a friendly and accommodating staff, good drink prices, and a relaxed setting where patrons can enjoy live bands without overpowering noise. It's known for its diverse crowd and welcoming vibe, making it an ideal choice for a fun night out.
Had a great time playing with my band here this past weekend. Great atmosphere and the staff were super friendly. No food options but I believe you can bring something in from the surrounding places to eat (I think). Off street parking as well. Very cool local place to hang with friends.

If I could give a ‘0’ I would! Service was absolutely terrible with the rudest, ‘bottom of the barrel’ management. I have lived in this area all my life and have frequented most of the restaurants and bars. I can’t believe this place is allowed to exist. I am certain management won’t care about this review… so I’d think twice about coming here! God forbid something should happen to you, they won’t care! Be careful!!!

Visited TOG to see the band Cold Hill (who were EXCELLENT). This is a smaller Irish bar/pub with a wonderful relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Bar tenders were great, friendly and pleasant. The bar is divided down the center, bar and open area, by a half wall with large opening so you are able to enjoy the band while at the bar or stand/sit in the open area. Music wasn't too loud, still able to talk with friends. Prices were good and I would really love to visit this place again ☘️

Seaton Hackney Stables -Equishare USA, LLC is a large stable with over 50 horses that offers an unforgettable experience for riders of all ages. The staff, including field workers and trainers like Mark and Lisa, are incredibly helpful and encouraging. They ensure that each rider enjoys their time and connects with the horses. The stable also hosts events such as birthday parties, providing activities like horse and pony rides, pony-pulled carriage rides, and roller coaster hayrides.
I have always wanted to go horseback riding ever since I missed an opportunity when I was little. We stumbled upon this place when realizing that the stable we originally intended to go to needed reservations and could not be reached. We called Seaton Hackney and they picked up immediately and got us set up with a reservation quickly :) There is a pretty decent parking lot when you arrive and some ponies that are happy to greet you! You enter through a door near the middle of the building and enter the office. We did all of our paperwork online and showed up early just in case. We got to explore the grounds a bit and pick out helmets as we waited for our guide and were delighted to see horses, goats and donkeys. All of the animals were friendly. None of us had ever ridden horses before but Ania was a wonderful guide! Her instructions were clear and it was very easy to learn how to guide the horse and have them walk along the trail. I must admit I was a bit afraid when I saw how tall my horse was! However Kevin was a very well mannered horse and made the ride fun and pleasant! Will definitely come back in the future for more riding! Maybe even some lessons :) Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

Options for everyone! My daughter has been riding at Seaton Hackney for many years. We first started in the PEP camp one summer. They do a great job with the kids and expose them to all aspects of horses! More recently, she has been taking lessons. They really strive to find the right fit between trainer and rider. They have a variety of barn horses available for all ages and abilities. They even offer schooling shows for those still learning to show off how far they have come! Last summer, my daughter worked in the summer camp program as a CIT. This is a great opportunity for teens who are avid horse and children lovers! They also do birthday parties and trail rides. Plenty of parking in their lot of the pool lot next door.

We had a birthday party for my 6 year old daughter: to say it was seamless is to say the least. The staff was a 10/10. I can't compliment enough how great of a staff they have. They were so helpful, kind, patient. Everyone enjoyed the party soooo much!!! The horses were well maintained as well. I have to say that everyone was so happy and treated so well. There's nothing I could even say that you could improve because our experience was an 11/10.

What a wonderful experience!! We looked for a stable that was able to accommodate larger riders and found this gem. They have capacity of up to 300lb for trail riding, which is awesome. Aside from that, the client service and interaction is excellent. They listen to your wishes and are extremely accommodating with their riders. My niece was a bit afraid of using an English saddle and the guide walked by her side the ENTIRE trail. They do have western and English saddles but this horse was in particular had an English saddle that day. Not only did she get to experience the new saddle style but also gained a ton of confidence in herself. The guide calmly dealt with her fears, assured her she could do it and gave her sound instruction. I’ve been to a number of stables, trail rides and lessons and this guide was spectacular. They clearly care about who represents them and place the comfort of the client as well as the ability of their horses first on their list. All the horses were well-mannered and gladly took the treats the guide allowed us to feed to them after their ride. This made our day so enjoyable!! We will be back for more riding in the near future. Thank you for all you do!!

The area is scenic and the people at the stables are friendly and professional. There are donkeys and goats there too! Hailey was amazing! I booked a trail ride with my son, and she made the experience wonderful. Her clear instructions and friendly demeanor put us at ease right away. She was warm, personable, and incredibly informative. You could truly feel her passion for her work, making her an inspiration to anyone interested in riding or working with horses. I wish we had remembered to bring cash; she definitely deserved a big tip! Great place! Highly recommend!

Awesome experience!! We celebrated our toddler's birthday at Seaton Hackney and it couldn't have been a more fun experience for all the kids. I will go there again and so as many of our guests who were very impressed with all the activities the place had to offer. The kids had a blast. I cannot speak enough of our party manager, Jennifer and her team. They made it such a breeze to set up the place, decorate, coordinate the activities, food and wrap up post party. They are amazing with those little kids and Jennifer is such a pro in how to run the party. We as hosts didn't have to do anything because her team took care of all logistics. They even helped us pack the stuff back in our car. I can easily give 5+ stars if there was an option. Loved it..

Foote's Pond Park, located on James Street in Morristown, is a charming 14-acre public park that has undergone recent renovations to enhance its natural beauty. The park features easy-to-traverse trails surrounded by pretty flowers and is home to various wildlife such as turtles and native bird species. Visitors can enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the wooded and marsh areas around the pond, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely walk in nature.
An absolute find for nature lovers with a little... or more, time. Short trail along the pond but you have a spillway along a really interesting bridge, a gorgeous garden, a lovely butterfly/flower garden and also a dock area that is picture perfect. Not the biggest park on the block but it packs a punch in all the right ways. Kudos to whomever maintains this lovely spot. I was able to find a moment of peace in a busy week. There is resident owls as well but I did not spot them (just their home). The pictures should show you all you need to know.

A small quaint quiet park with easy to traverse trails. There has been a recent renovation to try to increase and attract pollinators which means there are very pretty flowers around. The pond itself is home to several turtles. It's a nice spot for a short easy walk in the woods.

Beautiful small trail near Thomas Jefferson school. There are several places to sit and many trails to walk on through the forest that are both close to the road but feel very secluded.

Nice fairly level path thru a wooded/marsh area around a pond...maybe 1/2 mile. We enjoyed.❤️
Melinda K — Google review
Small but lovely little park. This year (2021) they did a major overhaul of the pollinator sections, which resulted in a very attractive and complex selection of flora, but seems to have resulted in far, far fewer butterflies. They also apparently increased the water level in the pond which flooded a small stretch of ground that was favored by quite a few migrating shore birds. Overall, these changes were a big swing but a miss for me and other bird and butterfly fans. Hopefully they will review the changes and plan better next year.

Visitors can also enjoy fishing at the lake while taking in the tranquil atmosphere.
Great spot. The dam is perfect for fall photos. Some areas are starting to change 9.27. I noticed a lot of kids fishing here. We came for the trail. Flat and easy. Just under 4 miles. No bathroom at trailhead. There is parking but it looked to fill up quickly.

Scening spot by a small lake with a dam and fishing spot. There is a small play ground for children and paved walking/biking trail along the lake. The trail is an integrate part of the Patriot Path.
Hung L — Google review
Picturesque small park with paved Patriots’ Path running along the lake shore. Small waterfall created by park’s Spillway is probably most photogenic feature of the park, but lake views are gorgeous on the their own merit. Parking lot is gravel, so if you have combined visit with Historic Speedwell, you may want to stay in their paved lot. It’s literally 3-4 mins to get to the park from there.

Beautiful park to visit all year long. Amazing views! The park includes a damn with water fall and walking trails along the Whippany River. My favorite time to visit is the Fall- the colors are spectacular!! Parking on site. Fishing allowed.

Nice peaceful park. Kids enjoyed riding their scooters along the paths. 2 playgrounds.

Such a clean and peaceful park! Fun for kids to learn how to fish and great to take a morning walk.

Speedwell lake park is a very small and serene park in Morristown. It has this fall view and pathway for walking, jogging which goes through sort of jungle ! It has a limited parking space (cars) free of cost. It is more like a community park. If you plan to travel for an hour or so and visit this park, I would suggest you to pause. It is not a picnic place. Maximum you can walk for an hour and return back. But there is no specific picnic place. Just click the picture near this lake and enjoy peace. Haven’t seen any washroom here as well.
Shraddha S — Google review
It is a beautiful little park where you can jog, bike, walk, and fish small trout. At the entrance, you will see swings along with the jungle gym. The parking lot is unorganized and unmarked. This park has good potential, but serious investment is needed to make it like state park standard. I found the walking path dirty and benches around the lake dirty and needed some attention. People use this park for a dog routine business. 🐕

Ice skating rink
Arena
Mennen Sports Arena is a popular all-season indoor arena with three ice surfaces, attracting over a million visitors annually. It offers public skating, hockey lessons, and features a snack bar for refreshments. The site boasts elite coaching staff and one of the country's top training programs. Visitors can purchase skating equipment at the pro shop before enjoying delicious bites at the eatery. The arena also hosts events like the County College of Morris commencement ceremony and provides ample parking.
I had my daughter's 12th birthday at the mennen arena and it was awesome and a hit to the other kids as well. Here are a few helpful tips if you are planning a party at the mennen ice skating arena in Morristown. You can pull up in the front of the building to unload your party supplies. I showed up about 15 minutes early to set up. They have two party rooms, the Lake Placid Room (the larger room, no windows) which is the room we had and the Salt Lake City room is a little smaller but it has windows and a door looking into Rink 3. Parties are for 2.5 hours and include skating for 22 guests any extra skaters are additional $9. The rooms have about 8 tables with plenty of chairs. I had 4 tables lined up for the kids and another two lined up for the parents. The other 2 tables I used for the food. You provide the food drinks and decorations (table clothes plates etc.) they also have a concession stand at the arena across from the party room. I ordered pizza and spudnuts from Virilli's pizza in Morristown and they delivered to the party room. I also added on the skating lesson with coach Linda and she was fabulous! The kids all learned so much from her. There was a large garbage can and large recycling can with bags in the room. There was a very slight smell in the room so if you are sensitive I would recommend bringing an air freshener. Also FYI they do not have walkers at the mennen arena. They used to have them but stopped due to kids rough housing and caused a coach to break her arm. They will let you use a traffic cone to get your balance. If I can think of anything else I will add it later but I just wanted to share the info I have so far.

Three sheets of ice here. Only 2 were in service for our showcase. Rink 1 is an older rink that sparks nostalgia. Has lots of seats and great views. The locker rooms in all rinks are good sizes. There are also large areas in the rinks to allow for pregame stretching. They have some vending machined for drinks and snacks. There are also some arcade games. The pro shop sharpens skate and has an adequate selection of hockey equipment. Staff is real helpful.
E M — Google review
County College of Morris holds their annual commencement ceremony there and it's great! The sound is good, the video screens add a lot, and the event is run smoothly. They also have two additional hockey rinks for lessons, figure skating, and hockey! The pro shop is open all day. There's plenty of parking.

We drove over 30 miles to get to a Caribbean Festival that was supposed to be held indoors rain or shine. Guess what it was pouring down rain and the venue was outside. We immediately left. We noticed that another event was taking place inside (probably ice hockey related) I checked the website before we left home and it definitely said in door event. Very poor planning n marketing. Not even worth 1 star.

Nice facility. 3 rinks. Sort of cold. Good ice. Main arena is big with stadium seating. The 2 other are smaller with little seating. Wide open lobby and plenty of parking. Vending machines for food.

Great spot for a happy Sunday brunch. The layout is really good and the bar area with multiple TVs as well. Tasty food and excellent service (Thank you Darwin). Although they have their own parking lot, finding a spot could be a challenge but it's a common problem for all Morristown restaurants. Definitely worth to try.

One of top spots to go for variety of specialty drinks, happy hour specials and quality food. They seem to have updated the restaurant area with wallpaper and new tables/seating. Our group meets annually here for dinner and it's a pinnacle spot for us because the aura and atmosphere is modern and relaxing. I ordered the Southwestern Salad as a vegetarian entree and it was delicious with a great portion on fresh food.

I can't imagine a better place to eat! Atmosphere is great for dates, friends, or family; it's very cozy and classy. They use top quality ingredients, which is perfect because I love to eat healthy. My jumbo shrimp were so succulent and flavorful with that lemon herb marinade. Our waiter was excellent, too! Very personable and efficient. Highly recommend!

Decent food. Unimpressive menu. Can get busy. When it does, service is pretty atrocious. "Be right there" = 20 minutes.

Would’ve given 1 star but the waitress was very attentive.. I was actually very excited to try this place, because I’ve heard they are a “farm to table restaurant”, but.. We walked in got greeted by a hostess, set down. Waitress was not around, but we had a couple of shiny wine glasses on the table, the bottle we brought with us was a screw cork Pinot.. so I thought “not a big deal” I opened myself poured in to the glasses.. “cheers!” Ready to take a look at the menu.. but all of the sudden hostess ran into followed by on of the waitress “NOO!” She almost yield “you cannot bring your own wine!!! It’s not a BYOB place!!!” I apologized for misunderstanding and offered to pay a “cork fee” or order wine from their list (witch was brought to the table only 10 minutes after this unpleasant conversation) and asked if we could finish what was already in the glass.. response was “No! You can pour it back to the bottle or I’ll just throw it out” (!!) “because” she “ we don’t want to loose our liquor license” (!!) never heard anything like that in my life! I ask for at least a funnel, out waitress offered to do that on the kitchen for us so it wouldn’t be as awkward. Notes on the food. Really mediocre. Overly sweet (butter, salad dressing, meatball sauce) and lack of taste (flatbread appetizer) . Cauliflower entree was decent. Tasteless meatball came in a sweet sauce with a piece of plastic in it.. Decor was nice but day-bright light created cheap-dinner kind of an atmosphere.. Terrible experience.i

Located in Morristown, NJ, Trap Door Escape Room offers a thrilling and unique experience with its supernatural-themed escape rooms. Visitors can put their problem-solving skills to the test while enjoying an extra-unique adventure. The Day of the Dead room is particularly popular and provides a fun and spooky experience once you get into the groove. While some visitors noted that certain clues could use improvement, they praised the friendly staff for making their visit enjoyable.
Had the BEST time.. solved the escape room with 3 minutes left! The room is super cool, the puzzles are super fun! it’s a great date night idea ! Thaddeus was the best room host!!! i would definitely recommend this establishment! and just remember, if they don’t answer the phone it’s because the amazing staff is hosting a game. have grace, you can always book online!

Played the Greatest Freakshow room. Very dark and they tell you that you can use your phone flashlight but 2 kids did not have phones and they don’t supply flashlights. You couldn’t find the clues or see the locks without them. They found one for us, but very annoying we couldn’t all look around on our own. One piece of a puzzle wasn’t there so time was wasted unable to complete. One lock was already open. I had higher hopes given reviews that it would be great with 11 and 12 year old. The mystery and puzzles were appropriate, but the lack of flashlights, missing pieces, open lock and very loud music making it hard to hear some of things you need to hear and the host/hints was very frustrating. All issues that could be easily fixed with more attention to details and the environment the way the players experience it. Definitely let down.

Their new RavenGuild escape room was great. Party of 5 did it. Wasn't too hard. Something we wish they had: a small white board with a marker/erasers. Love jotting things down during an escape room. Also at one point in the escape room, the pen wasn't working. A backup or two would be useful. Otherwise we loved it and will be back.

Unfortunately I have not been here so this review is solely based on our experience communicating with them in regards to a reservation we had there a couple of weeks ago. There was a snow storm coming right at the time of our reservation, so we called early that morning to try to reschedule. The person we spoke with said it was impossible to reschedule or get a refund of our money back ($33 per person, 6 people). We then got a call from a different person later that night saying that they would be happy to reschedule due to the storm. We told them we needed to touch base with the rest of our party and get back to them by Monday with a rescheduled date. Sure enough, we called on Monday and the person we spoke with said, again, it was IMPOSSIBLE to reschedule or get a refund. After we explained that someone called us and told us otherwise, they said they doubted that to be true, and they'd have to check and get back to us. This was 2 weeks ago. They have not called us back or returned any of our calls and voicemail that we left. It's too bad, we were SO excited to try this place and have it be something new we did with friends! It's the worst customer service experience I've seen, honestly. Not to mention we lost $200 in the process.

We did the Day of the Dead experience in Morristown, NJ. Not only did the escape room not take place in a room - just the lobby of business, it was incredibly poorly put together. As we were going through the game the staff realized they forgot to give us a blacklight flashlight in order to complete parts of the puzzle so he dropped them off over 20min into the game. The staff member there that day was also incredibly rude. He called me and those on my team poorly educated, kept nagging that we were the product of public school education (we all attended private school and have masters degrees from top ranked universities in the country), told us we lacked common sense (even though we beat the game) and made nonconstructive comments on us just trying to enjoy the game. He basically just sat at the front desk and mumbled to himself (and sometimes to us) about our execution but we were so close to him we could hear him the whole time. Overall a terrible experience and hated that we wasted $50 here on one of the few nights we had in town that weekend. Would never go back and never recommend this location.

My wife and I did the puzzles and corks experience in Morristown for date night and it was great! Needs a few tweaks because some of the clues don’t quite make sense or things are written sloppily and don’t look the way they are meant to but our host Thaddeus was amazing! He was funny, personable, and helpful when we asked for hints. He made the experience so much more enjoyable and we will definitely go back and try the escape rooms next time!

A birthday party for our 11 year-old and 10 of her classmates. They all enjoyed it, talked a lot about the experience afterwards. Had pizza and an ice cream cake (ordered locally) afterwards on a large couch in the lobby. + convenient location + well-decorated environment + interesting and memorable for pre-teens + variety of themes + Host: Thaddeus (Thank You for patience and professionalism!)

Booked a room here before a birthday dinner reservation. Cass was super enthusiastic and checked us in swiftly upon arrival and brought us to our room. She gave us the run down, asked if we had any questions (we did, and she graciously answered!), and left us to solve the case to escape! The room theme we did was Witch Hunt. Just the right amount of spooky for me! My group and I found the room to be modestly challenging and we did need a few hints…but everything came together and we escaped! Would recommend this business and hopefully my group and I are able to travel back to this location to try out the other rooms. Thank you Cass and staff!

Great time! We did a Paint your Pet and it turned out well. Was fun but there were so many people there that I was anxious I was doing thing wrong. Edit: Since then my husband and I have come 2 more times. We did a couple's night which was SO much fun and we did a create your own sign. These two experiences have been amazing. I love the workers (especially the women with short bleach blonde hair) and it is an amazing and calm atmosphere. They are great with encouragement. I think that may be their most important job. I love it and will keep coming back.

First time doing a paint and sip, and I was surprised at how well the painting turned out! We had a great instructor to lead us through the steps, the music mix was perfect (a lot of singing along), overall a really fun experience! It was interesting to see the variation in the paintings - the format allows for changing up the painting to make it your own.

Easilyyyy top 3 libraries in the county great study spot with awesome weekday hours, their weekly book/CD sale is everything (CRAZY cheap prices highly recommend) and the building is so gorgeous, perfect location too because there’s so many cute cafes right down the road if you need a break from studying. I took my two-year-old niece to her weekly playgroup activity at the library. I also visited on a different day for storytelling, which was genuinely enjoyable and engaging for the kids. The architecture is truly remarkable and visually stunning.

The Morristown Library is a true gem, both inside and out. The building itself is beautiful and inviting. Our family visits weekly to browse the selection and pick up nighttime books for our children. We've also taken advantage of their "Library of Things," borrowing museum passes and outdoor games – a fantastic resource! We're looking forward to utilizing their conference room for future meetings and attending some of the children's story times. It would be wonderful to see more story times offered throughout the month or on weekends to better accommodate working parents. The library's online resources, including their app and Libby, are incredibly user-friendly and provide access to a vast collection of books, audiobooks, and more. Overall: The Morristown Library is a valuable asset to the community, offering a wide range of resources and a welcoming environment for all ages.

As a library this is library is really great. Five stars if that was the only consideration. I like to write there but I find that the homeless people hanging out and talking make it difficult to focus on writing or even read. I wish they'd enforce noise level restrictions. They also require masks and even hand them out but the homeless take them off as soon as the staff is out of sight. Update 9/2/22 I spent the whole morning there writing and it was fantastic. People studying and writing. No noise or distractions.

Being a student at The Originial Music School (OMS) for over 4 years has been a amazing experience. I've not only grown so much as a musician, but I've made many great friends. Before I joined OMS I was only playing simple melodies and a few easy chords on my guitar. 4 years later as being a student at OMS I can play multiple instruments and do things I thought I'd never be able to do. OMS has been a great experience for me as it will be for many others.

OMS has created a unique and rich culture of music education for persons of all ages. Their emphasis on "create don't imitate" separates them from other music schools. I was very impressed with the songwriting and performing of their students. For me, learning to play guitar was and is a "bucket list" item of mine - and, I intend to continue with lessons this fall. Rainy Day Delight at The Morris Museum We visited The Morris Museum on a rainy day and were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it. The museum is surprisingly compact, making it easy to navigate even with young children. We were impressed by the diverse exhibits, ranging from fascinating local history to engaging science displays and beautiful art collections. There was even a small, dedicated area for kids with interactive elements that kept them entertained. We were able to comfortably explore the entire museum in under two hours, making it a perfect option for a quick and enriching outing. Our little one wasn't big enough to experience the hands on elements but were excited for when she is!! We're considering a family membership as it would be worth returning when exhibits rotate. Great quick outing!

I visited only one section of the museum - Murtogh Guinness collection of mechanical musical instruments and automata. This is an interesting topic, to my knowledge not well represented anywhere else, so the museum is quite unique. The labelling is quite good, but I also highly recommend a tour which is included in the museum admission. It also allows you to here some music boxes and see automatons in action.

There are activities for young children including a dinosaur exhibit. Geological rock specimens, most from New Jersey, is small but interesting. There is plenty of parking, a gift shop and the Bickford theater. Highly recommend this museum for all ages.

We went there for the train show section. It was very nice and the kids loved it. The kid interactive room should be opened and bigger in my opinion. There are good exhibitions there. This small museum has a lot of potential to attract more kids and more parents in surrounding towns if they expand the kids' section and make it more open without timing/reservation of the room. As a parent, I am willing to pay more for more kids activities if provided weekly and more things for kids to do. There aren't a lot of kids museums in North NJ.

Scenic park offering 8 miles of trails, picnic areas, athletic fields & green space.
Most flowers only around for few days. Spring to July there’s always a new flower surprise!

Easy paved path, with some unpaved trails, through a beautiful reservation. Babbling brooks, horses (as well as horse poop), deer and birds are a common sight while hiking. Clean restrooms, picnic areas, playgrounds and bike rentals available.
Leigh H — Google review
Loved walking the trails at Loantaka Brook Reservation this Spring. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of parking, handicap as well. The grounds, restrooms, playgrounds and trails were all well maintained. The trails were wide and offered both paved and unpaved and they had occasional benches along the way. The paved trail was mostly flat and wheelchair friendly. Everyone we encountered on the trails … on foot, cycle, horseback were all courteous of others. I especially liked that the wooded areas were somewhat cleared which allowed for beautiful views of nature and wildlife, as opposed to some other parks where the trails are narrow and densely covered feeling as though there’s nothing to see. Along the trails we passed a pond, bridges, streams and babbling brooks.

Great spot for running and biking. Flat. Lots of paved trails, so it is great for little kids learning how to bike. They also have picnic tables. And very modern and clean bathrooms. Police was present on the parking lot (at least a car was there). Definitely coming back.

Great park, stream runs next to the horse trail that my dog loves to run in. Great for small and long walks. My boyfriend loves to run here too. Huge beautiful grass fields.

An exceptional park with miles of trails and well-maintained, as are most Morris County-based parks. While the landscape could benefit from some cleanup of old fencing and unkempt brushes, overall I walked half the mileage and am eager to complete the rest at a later date. There are various entry ways in which offers ample parking, latrines, picnic areas, benches and even a playground with some workout stations along the way. I do a LOT of hiking throughout Morris and Sussex and this is being added to my list for location and scenery.
N10 F — Google review
This park has nice paved trails for biking, walking and jogging. The park has a small lake at the entrance with benches and small brooks along the trails. We went bike riding there during the weekend and the trails are very peaceful, quiet and scenic. Some areas are shaded with trees while other areas are more open space. We rode for an hour and a half, taking breaks and sitting on the many benches along the trails to relax. It's a great area for a safe, family friendly ride.
RocioJ.C — Google review
This is a great place for a family sunday. You can run, walk, skate, ride a bicicle or even a horse. The whole trail is very easy without hill. The view is peaceful and beautiful. I will recommend for anyone with kids that want to burn some energy before meal. You can also walk you dog (with leash). Definitely I will keep bringing my family each weekend.

Lewis Morris Park is a stunning county park that offers an array of outdoor activities for nature lovers and families alike. With miles of well-maintained trails perfect for hiking and on-leash dog walking, visitors can explore the beauty of the landscape, complete with charming streams and bridges. The park features ample picnic areas, sports fields, and even a sandy beach along Sunrise Lake where you can relax or enjoy some water activities.
nice trails in this area and a lovely area to have a picnic (they have several picnic tables). they also have grills here too if you wanted to barbecue. there is a small stream and a lake. there is some parking spaces as well. overall a nice place to enjoy nature and hang out by yourself or with friends and family. would come back and try a different trail

This park is gorgeous and has lovely trails for hiking and on leash dog walking. Lots of streams, bridges and trail options. Sadly the off leash dog park is less inviting. Gates don't latch properly. There is a small dog and big dog pen, a few benches. Most of the dog park is paved and not nice for running dog paws. No water available in the fenced area, but a seasonal water fountain is nearby. Porta potty avail off season. Just go for a hike with your pooch.
Kevin B — Google review
Great park, plenty of parking, short or long trails depending on your desired activity level. Most of them have some grades to them, a bit of uphill or downhill, but nothing too difficult. The trails are marked, but slightly more clearer marking would be great. There's a small lake as well with a beach area that didn't seem too crowded during our visit, but the trails are what we focused on, and they were absolutely empty. Very peaceful.
Suranjan R — Google review
Lota of wide open spaces. Lots of trails for walks and hiking. An exploratory trip here says I will be visiting here in the summertime for sure, though I wager it will be nowhere near as deserted as it was this day. There are several parking annexes, and several different areas to the park. There is a baseball diamond area, there is a boating/swimming pond area, and there is an open area for eating. First trip here was an early expedition. Will be sure to update this review and add more photos after a proper 2nd trip.
Alexander K — Google review
We attended a hiking club picnic in the shelter on 6/14/25. It was pleasant despite rainy weather. The hiking trails are quite scenic with very nice views. Highly recommend this park.

Beautiful park with a rural feel to it in the middle of suburbia. Ample trails in many spots which lead out to one another. Excellent parking and good signage make for a seamless experience.

Great trails to hike. We hiked the yellow trail and enjoyed it. Trails are mostly well marked. A few places where it can get confusing but download a map prior and you'll be good. Would definitely visit again and explore the other trails available.

The Morris County Historical Society is a museum that showcases a house from 1853, featuring period furnishings and historic exhibits. It also has ties to the suffrage movement. Although some information about the museum was obtained through email correspondence with the society, access to all available information was limited. However, one research assistant named Erin provided prompt and helpful assistance in response to specific inquiries. The service received was highly commendable, making the Historical Society a recommended resource for those seeking information about Morris County.
A great historic house, full furnished, a very informative tour. Unfortunately, was showed only half of the house, I would like to see more. Tickets: $8 adults, $7 seniors, $5 students.
Spy W — Google review
3/19/25 - I just went to the historical society and I wanted to say I loved it. Erin, Katie, and Sandy all were wonderful, knowledgeable, and very educational. The location does have a guided tour. We did not need to make a reservation for one and they took us right away. It appears that they do not have a lot of foot traffic but they certainly deserve it with their passion for and, knowledge of the site. Thank you for our wonderful trip. I would recommend.
Timothy G — Google review
Well-preserved historic house with original furniture of the family or donated one from the same time period. House tour with the guide provided wealth of information about each nook and cranny of each room. Ample parking on the side of the house. Acorn Hall is one of the few mansions still standing from Gilded Age times.
Mike Z — Google review
I got a personal tour of Acorn Hall. It was full of personal tidbits and offered a glimpse into a different era and lifestyle. I also bought notecards. I took a little time to explore the garden also. Delightful place to visit and explore some local history :)
Rekha G — Google review
Excellent, enjoyable 1 hour tour. Extremely interesting and informative. Beautiful house and furnishings. Nancy, my docent, has a wealth of knowledge about the house and the families who lived there.
Derek C — Google review
I spoke with Erin at Acorn Hall and sent a detailed list of ancestors who lived in Morristown and Morris County. She did an amazing job researching these individuals in their extensive archives and found quite a bit of information that I hadn't found elsewhere online. She also gave me further resources to look into that would possibly relate to my ancestors. Great job! I am so impressed and thankful!
Peter S — Google review
My interaction with the Morris County Historical Society was via email so I did not have the opportunity to partake in all of the information there. However, I recieved a timely response from Research Assistant Erin, who provided an answer to my main question and an offer to provide more assistance if I could supply a little more information. I would rate the service provided as excellent!! and would recommend the Historical Society for anyone seeking information about Morris County.
Vermilion M — Google review
The staff at the Morris County Historical Society was most helpful. I contacted the Society through its website and asked about material they might have regarding two of my ancestors who lived in Morris County in the 1700's. They responded the next day with some information and guidance on where I might look further. They were very responsive and thorough. I very much appreciate their help. Don Truslow Charlotte, NC

Schooley's Mountain Park is a hidden gem nestled in Morris County, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike. This expansive park features a serene lake, picturesque waterfalls, and well-maintained trails that cater to various skill levels. Whether you're looking to hike along the rocky paths or enjoy flatter routes with little ones or pets, there's something for everyone. The park also boasts an outdoor chapel that adds a unique touch to your visit.
It's a nice hike in Morris County. It's lined up with the "Patriot Path" so you can continue your hike without disruption. The couple times I have been there, I didn't venture too far. I was also hiking with little ones... We parked in the main lot and walked to the trail. We walked some of the trail, took pictures of the cascading water and did a partial hike. Nice, quiet area, depending on numerous factors (time of day, day of the week, holiday, weather). During the warm months this place gets busy, but my most recent visit, as of this review, was 3/1/25 and we only passed 3 other groups. Worth checking out for a nice hike along a stream with some 'waterfall' features.
Philip — Google review
This park is one of my favorites. It beautiful! Wonderful waterfalls, a lake, and overlook. One if my favorite spots is the outdoor chapel which not many know about. Trails are clearly labeled, but be warned some trails are rocky and for people who want more of a hiking experience (waterfall trail is the one we took which is rocky and has some climbing). But there are flatter trails to enjoy as well.
Jennifer Y — Google review
Great hiking trails, well maintained, and marked well. There are different trials with varying difficulty. Lots of rocks and was hard for my little doggo in some places. Beautiful place to swim, see some waterfalls, and enjoy a peaceful hike.
Ash — Google review
Great trail. It is very rocky and not an easy hike at all. It took me 2.5 hours to cover 5.3 miles. I did get lost a few times.
Nicolas P — Google review
Schooleys Mountain Park is a great place for hiking, biking, fishing, and having fun with the family. The paths, while a little rocky, are pretty fun otherwise, and lots of revisions have been done lately, especially on the waterfall path, to make it more excesable.

If you need a dog park for your high energy puppy to run free, then this is the place. All dog sizes welcome for all responsible dog owners anytime of day here. It’s nice and quiet 3-4pm and more doggies after 4pm. There are 4 sections of the park separate by gates, provide doggie poo bags, easy parking. Bring some waters for yourself and for your dog.

Lidgerwood Park is a vibrant community hub that caters to both the young and the young at heart. Nestled among beautiful old-growth trees, this park offers an array of athletic facilities including baseball fields, tennis courts, and a basketball court. Families can enjoy quality time at the playground equipped with swings, a jungle gym, and even a sandbox for little ones to explore. The park's gravel walking path invites leisurely strolls while shaded benches provide perfect spots for relaxation or picnics.
A lovely park for basketball, tennis, kids playground, walk dog, or just sit around on a good sunny day doing nothing.

My sister's job planted a tree for her here when she passed away. I visit it often. Nice break spot. There should be a plaque that was supposed to bear her name but it never surfaced. If it exists I'd love to have it. Or give it to my mother or one of my sister's children
Mark B — Google review
This lovely park features a playground, basketball courts, ball fields, and recently resurfaced tennis courts in addition to new restrooms. Though pickleball courts were added less than two years ago—complete with soundproofing—they are unfortunately being removed because of noise complaints.
Jeanne J — Google review
This is the neighborhood park and our kids are there nearly every day with their friends. The old growth trees are lovely and make the park special. The town is great about replacing and adding new trees like oak and sycamore. Lidgerwood has many features including a gravel walking path around the park, a softball and baseball field. There's a decent playground for children with wood chips, benches and shade. The restrooms are sometimes closed during the day. It would be nice if they could be reliably opened, especially for young kids. There's a shady area with several picnic tables. There are four tennis courts which were resurfaced within the last year. Best of all, the basketball court has just been refinished and looks terrific (thank you)!! One last wish is that more trees are planted along the south and west sides of the basketball court. The grove of trees just misses it and it gets blazing hot during the summer. I think that Lidgerwood park is used more than any other park in town. So proud to live in a town that cares about its parks.

Burnham Park is a 3.2-acre historic park located in Sylvania, just west of downtown Morristown. The park offers various recreational activities such as picnicking, playgrounds, and sitting areas for visitors to enjoy a peaceful day outdoors. It features two ponds where visitors can fish for trout and carp. While the walking path does not fully encircle the ponds, it provides a nice view of the water and surrounding scenery.
Nice little historic park that could be improved by having the walking path extend all the way around the pond. Revolutionary War encampment site but no placard next to the cabin stating who stayed there. Note to town... there is what appears to be an oil slick on one of the paths, the oil is drifting down the hill into the pond. Perhaps it's some kind of oil tank leak. It ought to be investigated and amended. Otherwise, a beautiful, peaceful spot.
J P — Google review
Update! There has been increased maintenance around the walking paths. I love enjoying our neighborhood park and ponds!! It's usually a quiet place to hang out or take kids to play. Watch out, though -- poison ivy abounds in the "natural" shoreline of the ponds.

It's a good park it's pretty clean pretty, a great place to go fishing. I've caught small mouth bass there before. they do stock it. During the day it seems pretty safe they could fix up the baseball fields and make it better. they have a path, But going all the way around the park leads you out into a busy street. If if you walk on the grass on the other side of the park towards the busy street it's usually Very wet. It could be cleaned up a little bit sometimes, I sometimes I see used needles but I don't ever see people doing anything in the park so it must be happening at night.. It needs a little more love but it's pretty decent I feel safe. Been there many times with my kids I never had an issue.
Scott K — Google review
The park is nice, it just does not have a ton to it. It has a small playground for kids which usually isn't crowded. The lake is nice but you can't walk the whole way around, which is kind of annoying. You can fish here but don't expect to catch much. If you need bait the liquor store right across the street sells night crawlers.
Gregory D — Google review
Gorgeous little park near downtown Morristown. Not too much to do but it's very quaint and scenic. Only issue is the walking path does not go all the way around the ponds.
