Bridge
Historical place
Ponte Vecchio, also known as Ponte degli Alpini, is a centuries-old covered wooden bridge in Bassano del Grappa. It has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times throughout history but still offers stunning views of the town and the river Brenta. The bridge, a symbol of the city, was redesigned by Andrea Palladio in 1569 and remains a major attraction at the center of the old town.
This medieval stone bridge is not only a feat of engineering but also a breathtaking work of art. The way it spans the Tagliamento River, its gentle arches, and the picturesque surroundings all combined to leave me in awe. What struck me most was the bridge's rich history and the stories it whispered of centuries past. As we walked across its weathered stones, I couldn't help but feel a deep connection to the countless travelers, traders, and locals who had crossed this very same bridge over the years. The views of the surrounding landscape were equally stunning – the rolling hills, the sparkling river, and the charming town of Tolmezzo all blended together to create a truly idyllic scene. If you're a history buff, a nature lover, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of old-world architecture, Ponte Vecchio is an absolute must-visit destination. We left with memories that will last a lifetime and a deep appreciation for this incredible piece of Italian heritage.

First time in this small northern Italy town and so thrilled with it. The old town area is so compact and beautiful. This wooden bridge spanning Brenta river is of course the main star. It's commonly known as Ponte Vecchio (old bridge), just like its much more famous Florence counterpart. And yes, it is old, few hundred years, and played an important role during Napoleon invasion, as well in WWI and WWII. Today, it's the main tourist draw, so picture perfect and picturesque, with many traditional bars on both sides of it
Dejan B — Google review
Perfect place to visit on a Sunday, if you are looking for a place to sit for brunch or you would like to walk on a trail or ride your bike, this place has it all. Brenta River will guide you through the most amazing views from North to south. The bridge is the perfect spot to admire the beautiful landscape around the river.

Historic place. A staple to visit whenever I’m around. “Tajadea” al ponte is a must, to keep the long lasting family tradition going.
Matteo F — Google review
Bassano del Grappa is a charming old city in northeastern Italy, famous for its picturesque setting by the Brenta River and its iconic wooden bridge, the Ponte Vecchio—also known as Ponte degli Alpini123. The bridge, originally designed by Andrea Palladio in 1569, has been destroyed and rebuilt several times due to floods and war, but always restored to its classic 16th-century design. The most recent major restoration was completed in 2021, ensuring its continued beauty and structural integrity3. Walking through Bassano’s historic center, you’ll find cobblestone streets, lively piazzas, and artisan shops selling local ceramics and the city’s namesake grappa. The Ponte degli Alpini itself is a gathering place for locals and visitors alike, offering stunning views of the river and the surrounding mountains. The bridge’s wooden structure and covered walkway give it a unique, timeless character, and its history as a symbol of resilience—rebuilt by the Alpini (mountain infantry) after WWII—adds to its significance23. A stroll across the bridge at sunset is especially memorable, with the warm light reflecting off the water and the old town’s buildings. Don’t miss the nearby grapperia for a taste of the local spirit, or simply enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and scenic beauty that make Bassano del Grappa a must-visit in northern Italy.

The Ponte Vecchio is the covered wooden designed by the architect Andrea Palladio in 1569. Do not miss its incredible atmosphere at sunset - sipping a Mezzo e Mezzo, which you can buy from city side

Nestled conveniently near the iconic bridge, the Museo del Ponte degli Alpini is a hidden gem that offers a glimpse into the rich history of war memorabilia. This small yet captivating museum, located in the basement of a tavern bar, showcases an array of historical documents and artifacts related to the Alpini soldiers. With an affordable admission fee and audio tours available in multiple languages, it’s an enriching experience for visitors of all ages.
This place had special significance for my wife as her Nonno served in WW1 with the Alpini. Very fascinating exhibition even if you have no link to it. Entry is through the tavern & downstairs. Well worth a visit.

You can get English or Italian audio guide to the museum which locates downstairs of a bar. The layout of the display cabinets were a bit confusing but the audios were very detailed. It was interesting and worth spending part of the afternoon there. After the museum, I suggest the outdoor seating at the bar because it has one of the most stunning views of River Brenta from there.

You can buy the tickets in the cafeteria and visit the museum downstairs to learn about the history of the Alpini

(Translated by Google) Small museum run by the Alpine troops inside the bar on the famous Bassano bridge. Small museum but very well kept and with some truly goosebump-inducing objects, the exhibit that struck me the most is the helmet with the bullet hole and still with traces of blood and brain matter, perhaps it is macabre but it reminds us that millions of people died. Thank you for what you do, places like this shout out loud "DON'T FORGET" especially to the new generations (Original) Piccolo museo gestito dagli alpini all'interno del bar sul famoso ponte di Bassano.

(Translated by Google) An atypical entrance, entering a typical bar... you go down the stairs and what welcomes you is an audio guide that describes what you see... don't expect a huge museum, an extraordinary museum, a museum... just a space packed with historical artifacts relating the hard life of the Alpine troops, told in a different way. I was able to experience through words the sensations, emotions, fears, hardships, and suffering of our Alpine troops. Their sacrifice allowed us to defend Italy! It breaks my heart to see the current contempt and indifference for our country and our people. This museum is a must-see if you happen to be passing through Bassano.

Nestled near the iconic Ponte Vecchio, the Poli Grappa Museum offers a delightful journey into the world of grappa, showcasing its rich history and production techniques. Established in 1993 by the Poli family, this charming museum features five informative rooms that guide visitors through traditional distillation methods to contemporary practices. The museum not only highlights the ancient art of grappa-making but also houses an impressive collection of prehistoric artifacts and exquisite ceramics from Greece and Apulia.
Grappa is great but they also have a few unique and delicious types of gin! Free tastings and decent prices. Museum was really educational and everything was in Italian and English.
Carrie D — Google review
Grappa is one of Italian most famous spirits. Poli family is one of few who established its production and one of the best in business with a tradition over 100 y. The museum is located in old town Bassano, few steps from the Ponte Vecchio bridge, town's main landmark. Museum is pretty small, but very well presented and it is free (have in mind most such museums throughout Europe and US charge entry fee). Apart from Grappa processing technology explained you can see historic bottles, sense Grappa varieties smells and best of all, taste free samples of it in a small shop at the end of the tour
Dejan B — Google review
Super interesting museum with loads of information and interactive resources. The Grappa is so tasteful and simply amazing. The museum is free and you can have a few samples with no pressure to buy. We brought a few 100ml bottles and we love them all. Quality is amazing and the price was very very good. Nice souvenirs! A must for people visiting Bassano!
Giovana B — Google review
Fantastic and free museum! Worth the stop to learn about Grappa! The samples at the end were great and show just how diverse grappa flavors can be.
Erin B — Google review
Liked it. Has a nice atmosphere and you can taste the beverages for free. No entry fee. The prices for gin ,whiskey and Grappa are according to the status of the distillery and affordable.

Excellent museum and they invite you to try any of their Grappas. Wonderful quality and the museum is really well done. The video shows how Grappa is made and it is worth watching. You can chose the language as well.

Nestled at the foot of the historic Ponte Vecchio in Bassano del Grappa, the Poli Grappa Museum is not just a collection of exhibits — it’s a love letter to one of Italy’s oldest and most misunderstood spirits: Grappa. Run by the legendary Poli family, distillers since 1898, the museum guides you through five centuries of grappa-making, from rustic copper stills to modern-day artistry. You’ll learn how leftover grape skins (vinaccia) are transformed into a noble distillate — a process rooted in sustainability long before it was fashionable. The museum is small but beautifully curated, with multilingual explanations, antique distillation tools, and aromatic exhibits that let you “smell the spirit” in every sense. At the end, step into the tasting room, where the real magic happens. The Poli family’s grappe are elegant, refined, and expressive — from the floral and smooth Morbida, to the bold Sarpa di Poli. You’ll also find liqueurs, brandy, and even grappa-based perfumes. This is not just a stop for grappa lovers — it’s a window into Italian craftsmanship, tradition, and heart.

The Palace of Mixtures in Bassano del Grappa is a hidden gem for those seeking a trendy and unique nightlife spot. Housed in a former city palace, this cool cocktail bar offers an extensive menu of innovative drinks, including original grappa mixtures and local bitters. The 'Red Cross' is highly recommended, as it showcases the complexity of grappa and can easily replace any other alcohol.
Everyone who walks outside this bar, turns his/her head and looks amazed. Most of these people start taking pictures. Don't miss the opportunity to enter this place and enjoy a very well made cocktail (or of a huge list) in a space that will catch your eye and won't leave it...

Nestled in the heart of Bassano del Grappa, the Museo Civico di Bassano is a treasure trove of art and history. Established in 1828 within the former Convento di San Francesco, this museum showcases an impressive collection that spans from archaeological artifacts to stunning paintings. Visitors can marvel at over 500 artworks, including pieces by renowned local artists like Jacopo Bassano and Antonio Canova.
Surprisingly well organized for a small town museum. The exhibits are truly impressive, and the showcases and overall layout are quite new and appropriately adjusted to the existing spaces. The place also hosts temporary exhibitions and important interactive events in the rooms that make up the new extension of the museum.

Great views of the bridge and river. Impressive building. The exhibitions were very comprehensive and interesting. Only disappointment was that the receptionist was on the phone for quite a while making us wait. I did suggest she could have asked them to hold as we already had tickets which only needed to be scanned. She was quite indignant and implied I was in the wrong. Poor customer service I am sorry to say.

Built in 1315 by the Paduans to protect the new villages that had sprung up outside the walls, it was later replaced by residential buildings. The south façade was adorned with recently restored frescoes: in the upper section, a powerful winged lion holding a book, a reference to the Venetian rule, and in the lower section, a Roman leader on a rearing horse about to leap, fully armed, into the abyss. (Translated by Google) Porta Dieda or dei Leoni. Opened in 1541 in the massive surviving tower of the now non-existent Lower Castle (Castello dei Berri) from 1315. It served to defend the road coming from Padua and Cittadella. It was also frescoed by Jacopo Bassano. It is one of the three Bassano gates that we can still admire. The other two are: Porta delle Grazie, in Viale dei Martiri, with the adjacent church of the same name and Porta Granda or delle Campanelle, which allows access from Piazza Terraglio to the Ezzelini Castle and therefore also to the Cathedral of 998, leaning against the Tower by Ser Ivano. It divides via Beata Giovanna from via Roma. It is therefore in the historic center of Bassano del Grappa. It was built at the behest of the Podestà Domenico Diedo, from whom it takes its NAME. After the restoration in 2005, people no longer pass by distractedly, but rather stop to admire the southern façade. These very large drawings are very striking. Once upon a time, most people were illiterate, so the frescoes, even from afar, had to make it clear who was the master of the territory, as well as their political, military and family affiliations. Among the representations, which are partly overlapping, the imperial EAGLE and the winged Venetian LION holding the open book stand out, an unmistakable symbol of Bassano del Grappa's bond with the Serenissima Republic. Then there is the DOGE, standing, in the act of receiving, wrapped in a scarlet cloak. There are fragments of the insignia of the crown of France and the coils of the Visconti viper. And then, below, here are 3 coats of arms of 2 Podestà and a captain and, on the far right, the banner of Bassano (1405) It's unfortunate, however, that the direction of travel with the cars doesn't allow you to admire it straight away this door. I advise you to park the car and take a walk. Thus you will be able to see, a short distance from Porta Dieda, to the south, the statue of the Blessed Giovanna Maria Bonomo from 1784 (co-patron saint of Bassano). Work by the Padua sculptor Felice Chiereghini. Donated to the city by Abbot Giambattista Roberti, a devotee of Bonomo, but also passionate about urban beautification. Recommended visit. Visita consigliata.

The Monumento al Generale Giardino is a statue that commands reverence in its position as a symbol of a great military leader. Standing at approximately four meters tall, this bronze sculpture faces the Grappa and depicts the general in full war attire, with a proud countenance and an unwavering gaze fixed upon "his" mountain. Not only does this monument hold significant historical value, but it also serves as an important landmark for orientation purposes.

Festival
The AMA Music Festival is a vibrant celebration of music held in the picturesque Parolini Gardens, a stunning botanical park gifted to the city by its 19th-century nobility. This enchanting venue transforms into an open-air cinema during summer, showcasing films from both acclaimed and up-and-coming directors amidst lush greenery. Attendees can enjoy live performances while savoring delicious food and drinks available on-site, all managed through a convenient token system.
We went to see Paul Kalkbrenner on Saturday the 24th. WE HAD AN AMAZING TIME!!! Queue was flowing quickly, all drinks and food were served in short time and were reasonably priced. Plenty space for people to move and enjoy music and cheap parking right next to the event. Super well organized!! Plus sound quality was very good ;) I see a lot of comments of people complaining about parking, prices or even about other people attending the festival because they are singing (for real 😂😅?). To all these people making non-sense comments, you clearly have not been to festivals before so try to experience a bit more before making such comments. This is one of the best organized festivals I have been too to be honest and some of the events we attend in the UK could learn a thing or two from AMA Team. By the way, there is free parking if you just leave your car further down the road at a mere 10 min walk;) People, complain less and enjoy music more!

We were at the Offspring with my wife and 3yo kid and we had overall quite a good impression. To have that said, we purchased a vip ticket (which wasn't really vip). I used to be an organizer of another rock festival when I was younger so my review would be quite complimentary as I totally get challenges. And, we got tons of fan and it was a pleasant experience with quite young kid, so we enjoyed the event even though not everything was perfect. Pros: - Organizers tried their best to accommodate a venue - there were plenty of things to do and even our kid was not bored while we were waiting for headliners - The selection of food was great, which included even gluten free food. We were able to get a decent dinner for the baby. - Territory was made as accessible as possible - there were a couple of strollers as well as disabled people navigating around relatively nicely. There was also a separate platform for ppl with needs, which was quite nice given the location. - I'd say quite enough food-court and toilets. Around 7pm we waited for food for no more than 15 mins, and the longest toilet queue I noticed (at 9pm) was like 3 songs (12mins?). Cons: - no signs to the vip(gold) parking, so I saw a closed road with no signs that it needed parking, so had to make 30mins detour to parking 2 to realize after a walk through the field that I just had to come through this closed road. But I did re-park nicely and was not asked to pay €5 fee on parking 2. And also exit from the gold parking was very jammed due to crowd and cars sharing the same exit. But staff tried to coordinate traffic once main crowd passed the exit. It took us like 20 mins to drive out, which is acceptable kind of. But we were one of the first ones to exit it (as I knew what to expect). - Too long changes of bands. It took 30-40 minutes between them which is kinda ridiculous. While the sound system was quite decent it felt not enough time for bands soundchecks were not enough. Even headliners had a jammed/overloaded sound, which is a matter of tunning which was not done decently anyway. - IMO, the amount of security was very low. Having 1 folk on an entrance to the pit is quite ridiculous as he won't be able to do anything in case of crowd non-compliance. So everything was holding on ppl being very calm and respectful, which they mostly were. Neutral: - prices were okeyish, wouldn't expect them being less anyway, though €6 for 0.33 beer feels too much. But for 0.5 it would feel slightly more reasonable. - tokens are slightly irritating but I get it. Wasn't too big of a problem for me personally, I spent €40 on them and it was just enough for 3 meals and a couple of beers. Just in case 1 token was around 2eur, prices on food is in tokens. - staff was quite welcoming and friendly when they could. Ofc closer to headliners they were too overloaded for being friendly, but they really tried. But also staff was a bit lost of where we can and can not go with our vip bracelets, as well as printed papers were confusing as they were from previous events, while bracelets were already having different color mapping.

It was a bit messy at first what to do as a disabled person. But then we were helped so good and I'm super appreciative. The security at the stage was super friendly. They tried to cool us down with a hose, gave us a bunch of water. Only thing was that until yungblud the Bass was way to loud and was uncomfortable for everyone close by. But overal I thought it was super nice

Sorry but italians love to wait and stay in line because there is massive line on toilet, beer, food everything. Its tragical. if they did this in the Czech Republic, it would burn down there like Woodstock. many people, few snacks.. and beer. Never again...

(Translated by Google) I went there for Kalkbrenner. Nice park, pieces of food and drink on average €6 a beer €6 a sandwich... everything works on tokens. Very good organization. I'm removing a star because with what you pay for the ticket I expect an unprecedented facility... it could pump a little more... otherwise very nice.

Performing arts theater
Teatro al Castello Tito Gobbi is a beautiful and welcoming open-air theater located on the walls of Bassano. The space offers good acoustics and visibility, with a well-ventilated environment during hot summer evenings. The theater provides a unique atmosphere, especially from sunset to nightfall, making it an ideal setting for cultural and art events. Despite its limited seating capacity, the venue's charm and ambiance make it a worthwhile experience for visitors.

(Translated by Google) A glimpse of sky between the remains of castle walls; in my opinion it gives its best from the light of sunset to the darkness of the night. Home to cultural and art meetings in the permissive seasons, it is frequented like the reception room of the house of a hospitable old lady who is often weak in energy and finances. He leaves with gratitude for the welcome he received.
