Modern art museum
The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Trento and Rovereto is a building with a striking dome made of glass and steel that houses an impressive collection of paintings and sculptures. The museum offers hearing devices to help visitors fully appreciate the guide's descriptions without disturbing others. Visitors can learn about the genesis and evolution of modern art through easy-to-understand storytelling. Even those who know little about art will find the exhibits fascinating, as they showcase a wide range of intriguing works.
Totally unexpected to see such level of museum in Roveretto. By the importance of collections and architectural concepts could seem the main museum of the any big European capital. Definitely should be in your must see list.

Great beautiful big futuristic, If you like modern art absolutely suggested to see, we were here with a group and we had a guide, entrance it’s 10 euros.. amazing experience

A first class museum, a must visit! Showcasing stunning collections, coming from their vast archive. Offering temporary exhibition of international standing, finally curated in the magnificent interiors designed by archi star Mario Botta! Amazing fit and restaurant as well as bookstore and a variety of multimedia facilities, including Peter and areas for art workshops highly recommended
Luca G — Google review
This was a very lovely museum, the collection was very beautiful and very nicely displayed, the building itself is very beautiful. The architecture was stunning as was the works it houses inside. They have many works of art, paintings, statues, sculptures. I enjoyed my visit here and if you like art I would definitely recommend visiting this beautiful museum.
Pong L — Google review
The best museum of the Trentino-Alto Adige Region in Italy. Both it’s permanent and temporary exhibitions are fascinating. These months collector Luigi Ferri and Vincenzo Paolillo ‘ s collections are on . Both are impressive, but if you like Giorgio De Chirico ,these exhibitions will lead you to influential voyages. 1890-1960 periods of Italy and futurismo exhibitions are on too. As usual, they’re really successful. Besides Michelin guide Alfio Gezzi’ s bistro restaurant inside the museum garden is delicious and creative. Note that the museum’s architect is Mario Botta 😇
Hasret M — Google review
I must admit that I came with modest expectations, thinking it's just something to do on the road...not only I wasn't disappointed- I am very impressed. This museum has first of all an incredible collection of local art, which is beautifully exhibited in one space, with a retrospective over time plus a few focus rooms on certain artist. It is very informative and very eye opening, both to the influence of Austria and Germany on North Italian art as of the original developments. Further more, there were 3 other temporary exhibitions, all of them were humbly curated with a light hand that gives an educational perspective, but is very supportive for the observer without forcing too much information. I don't remember the last time I saw 4 exhibitions in one place, which I liked without an exception. I highly recommend a visit, although at least 3 exhibition spaces will probably change soon to others. Another little thing I liked is the design of the exhibition walls, with beautiful colours. One thing I felt was a bit a shame was that the shop didn't have a larger selection of postcards from the collection. The café is nice too BTW, and has amazing furniture, most of which I believe are of Italian renowned designers.
Amit E — Google review
The museum of modern and contemporary art in Rovereto is located in an impressive and stunning building. It is a short walk from the historical downtown area of the town. Its collection and exhibitions, however, surpass the architecture of the building. It is definitely visiting Rovereto just for this gallery.
E K — Google review
I know near to nothing about art in general, but the storytelling of the expositions was so easy that I was able to understand and learn many things. One very interesting exposition is the one showing the genesis and the evolution of modern art

When visiting Rovereto in winter, make sure to explore the Christmas Markets at Natale dei Popoli. Wander through the huts and enjoy the festive atmosphere on Via Roma, where you can sample a variety of international products and traditional treats. Don't miss out on a delightful breakfast at Caffe Bontadi or savoring a glass of Marzemino wine at one of the local restaurants.
2nd time we have visited and it never fails to amaze us. Great for reflection. The exhibits are constantly changing and thought provoking. Some content is graphic so keep that in mind if you have young children. Plenty to view and admire. There are storyboards along the walking trail and the area is handicap accessible. Keep hold of young children as there are steep drop-offs near the bell. Pleasant staff at the entrance. Plenty of parking near the center. We did notice a hiking path off to the side as well. Worth your time to explore the area. Has never been crowded both times we visited.
Betta R — Google review
Not easy to reach not far far from the town but you can’t walk to reach it but you can go with public transportation, they did this bell with old weapons of the wars, entrance it’s 5 euros but was free for us thanks to Ostello Rovereto they gave us tickets
Luc G — Google review
Do not recommend. I went there after reading there is a bell - one of the heaviest in the world and the heaviest which rotates when ringing. I was there at 12:00 when the bell supposed to play. And? 2 min. after 12, the sound of the bell was playing from the speakers 😒
Janusz ( — Google review
"The Peace Bell". We saw it ring at noon, not sure if that is every day. Be careful if using a GPS, our TomTom wanted to take us up a billy-goat trail.
Bruce S — Google review
We visited during the ringing of the bell at 21.30. It made a deep impression on me, thinking about the ww1 war and how this bell is ringing to remember the importance of peace. I hope we will remain peace...

Great place for peace. Its way is also interesting. If you start from Rovereto to Campana dei Caduti there is also trekking way. It takes 30 minutes by walk but you should wear sport clothes

Delightful and quirky house of Futurist artist Fortunato DePero. Absolutely worth a visit, and the price is included in the Mart Museum ticket.

Amazing venue and collection. A true gem holding beautiful masterpieces testifying the futurist genius and the many media used. Great staff knowledgeable and friendly who care for their work and are eager to explain and providing information on Depero practice. Indeed an inspiring and colourful place. The ticket MART plus Casa d arte depero is really affordable.

Although the museum is worth visiting, after our visit we found out that somebody stole our umbrellas from in front of the entrance. We would not leave it there but we were asked by the staff to do so, after all we only got an apology from them. Seriously people are so mean! Take care of your belongings!

Located in the heart of Rovereto's old town, Museo Storico Italiano della Guerra is housed in a historic castle and showcases an extensive collection of war uniforms, artillery, and vehicles spanning from the Middle Ages to modern times. The museum offers a compelling insight into the impact of war through captivating exhibits and photographs from the First World War, when Rovereto found itself directly on the Italian and Austrian-Hungarian front.
An interesting museum of you are interested in the topic/history in general. It’s suitable for children. The staff are helpful and kind
Iglika B — Google review
We were here with a school trip, absolutely to see museum especially if you are around for the trench warfare, our tour guide, a young lady with bright eyes, was very impolite with us. Absolutely suggested to go but avoid this young lady if you want a tour guide, the other guide was a young man and was very polite.
Luc G — Google review
Probably the most comprehensive and comprehensible WW1 history museum on our tour of Italy this summer. The descriptions were good, the views were good, and some of the artifacts like a canvas backpack were allowed to be touched,

History museum
Rovereto Castle stands as a majestic testament to history, perched on a rocky outcrop where the Leno River meets the city. Originally constructed in the 14th century by the Castelbarco family, it later transformed into a formidable military fortress under Venetian rule in the 15th century. The castle's impressive architecture features four robust bastions and has witnessed various dominations, including that of the Habsburgs after their victory in 1509.
A beautiful castle. It’s currently under construction, but this may impact only some of the photos you’ll take. Otherwise you can still see everything and go everywhere. There are a lot of well preserved parts. This is a combined attraction- you see both the castle and the museum of the war.
Iglika B — Google review
The castle itself is wonderful to visit, the architecture is stunning and the view of the city is incredible! (a shame that when I went there was a lot of scaffolding and many facades were covered for restoration). the staff is super kind and very helpful . The museum inside the castle is excellent, very well curated and with a huge collection and lots of interesting information, it's well worth it!

(Translated by Google) Interesting World War I memorial. The church is more interesting from the outside, the interior is rather austere. In the park in front of the church there is a collection of guns and howitzers from World War I. Again, everything is underlined by the amazing panoramas of the Dolomites and Rovereto. The parking lot is in front of the memorial and free. The entrance fee is a bit high, but nothing that you can't easily get through. V parku před kostelem sbírka děl a houfnic z 1. Světové války. Opět vše podkresleno úžasnými panoramaty Dolomitů a Rovereta.

(Translated by Google) It must be visited, and visited with due respect. Alfredo, Luigi, Joseph, Alois, Svoboda... More than 20,000 souls of young Italians, Austro-Hungarians, and Czechoslovakians, united by the same tragic fate. It gives pause for thought. The memorial, reopened in September 2025 after a conservative restoration, stands on the hill above Rovereto and has ample free parking. Bicycles and dogs, even on a leash, are not permitted in the surrounding park. Children must be supervised and held by the hand (I'm including a photo because someone mistakenly wrote in a review that children are not allowed...). The visit is free. From the parking lot, a slightly uphill path leads through the woods, which quickly leads to the Maria Dolens Bell of Peace (or Bell of the Fallen). There is an admission fee to that monument, which allows access to a facility where you can view materials on the theme, visit the park, see works of art, and, of course, the Bell.

The Fondazione Museo Civico di Rovereto is a compact museum that features exhibits on fossils, archeological finds, and outdoor dinosaur sculptures. It showcases all the major archeological periods ranging from Neolithic to Medieval times in addition to a comprehensive exhibition on natural history. The temporary space exhibit is highly recommended with its amazing virtual reality moon walk, space walk, and ISS view of Earth. Other permanent exhibitions are also interesting and worth exploring.
A beautiful museum. It’s kid-friendly but also good for adults. The exhibitions are well curated and you instantly fell in love with science. It’s clear that this is based on a lot of research, passion and constant improvement. For example, the planetarium is like a star ship. It includes VR, so children can see that science is not something boring, but is high tech and modern. There are many other interesting things to see and experience. The staff is kind, friendly and welcoming. I don’t often see people who are so dedicated and willing to go the extra mile as the nice lady that welcomed me. And since this became quite long, let me wrap up and advise you: if you are nearby, don’t miss this museum.

Dating back to the 17th century, the church features large marble altars and exudes a serene atmosphere perfect for quiet contemplation or prayer. With its Baroque style and strong Venetian influences, this historic church is a must-see attraction in the city. Whether you're admiring its lovely interior or simply taking in its rich history, St.
This large church of St. Mark's is located in the heart of the historical old town of Rovereto. It might not look like much from the outside, but don't be fooled by its drab exterior. Its interior is incredible. The interior of the church is decorated with ornate and vivid frescoes. There are also a number of beautiful renaissance paintings. You should certainly visit this church, when you are in town.

(Translated by Google) Impressive church with a rich history The Chiesa di San Marco is a beautiful and well-preserved church in the middle of the historic center of Rovereto. The exterior is sober. Inside it is really impressive: richly decorated altars, baroque details and a beautiful serene atmosphere. Especially the link with Mozart - who gave his first concert in Italy here - makes it special. A must for those who love art, history and silence.

(Translated by Google) The church of San Marco is one of the oldest in Rovereto, dating back to the second half of the fifteenth century. The exterior is characterized by the high relief of a lion of Saint Mark, a testament to Venetian rule. The interior is more Baroque, with a fully frescoed ceiling, twisted columns, and several side altars. Note the bust of Rosmini, and it's worth remembering that W.A. Mozart held his first Italian concert here in 1769.

Mysterious Sites
The hermitage of San Colombano, built around the 10th century, is an ancient structure carved into the rock. Situated at a height of 120 m, this mystical site is believed to have housed a hermit in 753 AD. Exploring the nearby river valley reveals an enchanting atmosphere. Legend has it that dragons once dwelled here, but they were vanquished by an Irish monk who made this place his home in penitence.
A very interesting hermitage that is worth a visit or, if you are in a hurry at least a photo from the main road, though finding parking near the photo spot is not easy. The site, a small cave, now part of the building, was the home of hermits from 753 on, as an engraving on the rock next to the current tower indicates it. A small church dedicated to San Colombano was first built next to the cave during the turn of the 10th-11th century, utilising the rock as its roof. The "hermit's cave" was used by monks until 1782 when the practice of the hermitage was abolished by Joseph II. Since then the inhabitants of the valley take care of the place. There is no entrance fee, but donations are welcome.

Looking for where the dragons lived? you have found this place. walk along the river valley and you will get the impression that it is something mystical. will you find the dragon? probably not, because an Irish monk came here and defeated him. then, in repentance, he settled in a cave, and later a church was built there. it is only open on Sunday from 14:30. interestingly, the same stories about monks fighting dragons are also found in the kingdoms of Mustang and Bhutan.

We've been there twice but infortunately still closed for renovations ? !

Walk up was good. Trentino tourism web site said it opened at 10am. Or at 2:30. But was closed for renovations. That's more about the tourist board than the Eremo.

Really cool place, the place itself was closed when I visited but the walk felt calming and mystical, definitely visit if you’re in the area. Parking available next to the highway or if you drive down the hill a little bit.
Cecilia W — Google review
Very interesting and nice spot to visit. There is some issues with parking and a 5 minute walk but if you are nearby it is totally worth a visit.
Larry B — Google review
Very impressive location also to understand what a humble life San Colombano lived as hermitage. Please help with maintenance and restoration of the little church by purchaising souveniers.

So beautiful nature, very interesting but I'm so happy when I'm arriving going there, A sacred place of peace and spirituality, I love the rock, views

(Translated by Google) A pleasant surprise. Cozy place and family atmosphere. We stopped to eat, before going to the theater in Gonzaga, in this comfortable place right on the main road. Served in a very short time and very good food. Very popular pub, large and spacious. The patrons seemed to all know each other a bit :) Tables for playing billiards in a dedicated room, and a corner for live music in the main room. If this happens, we will definitely stop again (Original) Una piacevole sorpresa. Luogo accogliente e atmosfera familiare. Serviti in pochissimo tempo e cibo molto buono. Pub molto frequentato, ampio e spazioso.
