Location is just like a movie set. They have boards and signs warning about photography is restricted. Architecture is spectacular and surrounding is also clean and well maintained.

Good place with calm surround atmosphere, this church located between so many colorful houses and streets, so you can walk around street and take beautiful photos here.

Old church built in the 19th century. Its a good place for photoshoot. Try to go early in the morning as it gets very crowded in the later part of the day as everyone comes here to take pictures. Parking space is limited, so try and park your vehicle a few blocks away and walk to the place. The church is in the Fontainhas area of Panaji with beautiful colourful houses all around the church. It's a small church but a good spot for picture lovers and just nearby there is a street where you can get some really nice pics if you know cool poses.

I attended the mass on Sunday morning 8:15 am, a very quaint and quiet church amidst all the noisy tourist shuttling at the foot of the church. They conduct masses in English , Portuguese , mixed mass and even Marathi and Konkani. This structure still holds the history of the Portuguese invaders. There are multiple ways to getting to the church which i figured I wont tell here since tourists do tourist stuff! This church boasts friendly priests, short and sweet masses, and extremely kid friendly activities that the church is aiming to involve more. I pray this beautiful church continues holding its legacies for centuries to come.

We visited Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church in Panjim, and it was truly a beautiful experience. The white church stands gracefully on a hill, offering a stunning view of the city. Visited the Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church during my trip to Panjim, and it’s definitely one of the must-visit spots in the city. A beautiful and well-maintained church in Goa- Our Lady of Immaculate Church (a favourite destination of Bollywood directos). However, it got closed at 12:30 pm. It is advisable to check the opening and closing time on Google before visiting the church. If late, you will have to take photos outside the premises and as 3 crowded streets meet at this point, it's not advisable to pose for the photos here. There are shops nearby where you may get jewellery, clothes, purses, magnetic show pieces, belts, etc. at a very reasonable rate.

They were closed and suddenly they opened up at 10:45 with people outside not knowing when it opens or closes. Alart from that, the direction to the gallery were clear. The paintings were very nice with some of them really challenging boundaries of conventional thinking. I appreciate the work put up. One can also buy those paintings, some of them are from 15-20 years earlier.

We came all the way from Assagao to this gallery and it was closed. It was not mention anywhere (website, Instagram and etc). They just open this gallery when they are in a good mood as I understand. Don’t spend your time but you can always take risk and check is it open or no.

Maruti Temple at Mala Altinho is a peaceful and beautiful place to visit. The temple has a calm and spiritual atmosphere, perfect for quiet prayers and relaxation. The view from here is amazing, offering a refreshing experience for visitors. A very nice temple that combines serenity with scenic beauty.

I could find temple admin contact else would have called and complained.We entered from back side as google map directed us,may be wrong entrance.There was no security person when we entered.We left foot wear on the other side outside and went to temple.Upon returning the security started shouting that we should not wnter that side.We told politely that we did not know and we will follow his instructions.But still he started shouting. He is being paid for just sitting there and watching mobile all the time and start fighting when he want.Had a nice Darshan of Hanuman ji and came back irritated and frustrated.No one to control such behaviour or train the person and no contact or admin to complain.

Amazing Maruti Mandir! Must visit for a clean high hill top view amazing views of entire Panjim and Atal Bridge, sanctity and with vivid colors. This place should be in the top 10 list for Panjim city tourist attractions. बजरंग बली की जय! जय हनुमान!

A true Goan gem nestled in the heart of Fontainhas! Viva Panjim is a beautiful blend of history and flavour, set in a 150-year-old Goan-Portuguese home. The heritage ambiance instantly transports you, and the food is nothing short of spectacular! We tried the Seafood Platter, Pomfret Racheado, Prawn Biryani, and Chicken Cheese Lollipops — every dish was packed with authentic Goan flavours. Their cocktails, especially Lady in Pink and Blue Lagoon, were refreshing and well-balanced. The service was warm and welcoming, true to its family-run roots, and the live music on Sunday added the perfect touch to our experience. It’s no surprise this place is award-winning and has hosted big names like Chef Sanjeev Kapoor and the US Ambassador. Highly recommend if you're looking to explore Goa’s rich culinary heritage in a cozy, charming setting!

We visited this restaurant after seeing it all over social media and Google reviews. The location was lovely, the vibe was perfectly Goan, and the owner was genuinely warm and welcoming - which instantly made us feel good about our choice. We decided to try their much talked about seafood platter based on the server’s recommendation, but honestly, it didn’t live up to the hype. It felt quite basic and didn’t really hit the spot. Overall, it’s a nice place to stop by for a quick bite or a drink, but probably not where I’d go for a full meal.

Visited Viva Panjim with high expectations, but unfortunately, it was quite underwhelming. The food was just okay – nothing that really stood out or felt worth the price. What made the experience worse was the staff’s attitude, which came off as a bit rude and disinterested. The place is definitely overpriced considering the quality of food and service. The only saving grace was the ambience, which is charming and gives off a nice old-Portuguese vibe – hence the two stars. Sadly, the overall experience didn’t live up to the hype.

I came to this restaurant about 12 years back. This was my second visit to this restaurant. Last time I met the owner Linda D'Souza and was delighted to meet such a fantastic person. I liked the authentic Goan curries but being a vegetarian can't comment on the non veg food but my friends they all liked it. Just the ambiance of this place keeps calling me back whenever I come to GOA. Last time I was here, I was an aspiring doctor and this time I went in as a Sports Surgeon. Just a lot of nostalgia and memories. Hope you create such memories at this place too.

A hidden gem with a superb ambience. Goan food dishes are superb. We even tried the pepper chicken which was v nice. Beer and other drinks are very reasonably priced. Service is super fast and all food was served within 20 minutes.

This place serves good coffee and snacking options. Loved the interiors the first floor. Instagram worthy decor, specially the hanging books and furniture. The place might be little crowded at times, we visited in an afternoon, not a big wait though.

The seating options are well laid out, with areas downstairs and upstairs seats outside. Coffee and Food The coffee selection is extensive, with options like slow brew from Karnataka. The location of this place is quite apt, it’s situated in Fontainhas and looks very pretty from the outside. However, the interior was quite disappointing. There was no air conditioning, the space felt damp, and there was no ventilation at all. The staff was not particularly friendly either. We only had coffee, which was good, and the service was quick. However, the menu was extremely limited, with just two items — cakes that also looked rather dry, so we didn’t try any. We ended up sitting outside, but there was only one table and no proper ventilation. Since it was evening, mosquitoes were a major issue. Overall, despite the good coffee, I wouldn’t want to visit again.

It’s cozy but not quaint, it’s brightly lit (downstairs) but not cheery, the coffee is good but the cake portion sizes are too small. Asked for the hot chocolate which was famously advertised on the menu board but wasn’t available. The entrance is marred by a “now hiring” flyer pasted on the wall. Not complaining but not a memorable experience either.

Variety of options in Beverages and several cakes. I have tried their Banana cake and Carrot cake with Watermelon juice. All tastes amazing and they have different Cold pressed juices. Ambience is out of out good and clean environment with a great interiors. I recommend you to visit here when you are roaming in the streets of Altinho which is with eye capturing colourful houses. They also have seating capacity on the top with good view.

Had the recent displeasure of stumbling into this place falsely led by the other reviews only to be in utter disappointment on finding out tha they don’t have any core coffees available. How can a coffee shop not have cold brew or a pour over. Either way, asked them for the iced latte and upon receiving it, i was sure it was milk with a dash of sugar and sprinkle of coffee dust. Coffee - Unacceptable but their service and attitude of the front desk staff was undeniably horrendous. It was as if they paid me to drink this excuse of a coffee. Would definitely recommend if you hate coffee.

It is an iconic place I reckon, the beautiful beach view of Coco Beach it has, the ancient jail system it has, white light house, and also various selfies can be taken here. They charge you 25rs per person for entry and 30rs for parking for 4 wheelers.

The best time to visit here is sunset time. One must visit here if they love taking photographs as the view of this place is amazing. There is s lighthouse too. Worth a trip if you have a few hours to use.

Beautiful view point, from here one can see the awesome sun set. Below is the Agoda rock beach. Just walk down further four hundred metres from Aguda fort entry gate. However, the visitors are not taking care of the place. Many waste materials are left after partying.

Lovely place to visit and take pics in . Although the paying online process was a bit too complicated so please carry cash. Or just buy the tickets online in advance.

I recommend taking away some food sit there and enjoy the sunset . Getting popular in recent times.

Cool gallery that’s well worth an explore whilst in the Fontainhas quarter. We were lucky to be the only ones inside at the time so could take our time exploring. There’s also a few local books on sale!

Easily one of the best dinner’s we’ve had. We ordered the Burrata Salad, Beet Spaghetti, Not Pad Thai Prawns and Textures of Olive for dessert. This went beyond just dinner and became an experience we wouldn’t forget. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Very beautiful place, has a European cuisine. They only own Goa made drinks. I was curious and tried their pork pulled burger. It was deliciously mouth watering and their fries were on point. Thats when i know a restaurant is worth a return .

Tried the Chonak Fish Thali at Peep Kitchen, Panjim — absolutely delicious! The fish was fresh and perfectly fried, with flavorful Goan curries and sides that tasted authentic. Ended the meal with Serradura, which was creamy and light. Great food, quick service, and cozy ambiance. Must-visit for Goan seafood lovers! 🐟✨

A very famous restaurant in Panjim for Fish Thalis. Had their Fish Thali which was a little disappointing because the rice was low quality and Fish was not fresh. The variety of items were less as per the price we were paying. Overall the service as they promptly provided us with freshly fried fish fillets.

I went to this place after it was recommended by a friend to try their chicken cafreal. The dish underscored. Less portion for the price. Chewy meat. The drinks stood out. The spicy passion drink is a must try. Ambience wise its good. Friendly staff. Over priced.

Being a chai person, I genuinely love the diverse options of tea flavours that this brand offers. Not only have I ordered their assorted sachets in the past, but have also been recommending it to my friends! And when the owner Pooja told me about their physical outlet in Goa, I was super excited to visit! However, I had one of the worst walk-in experiences. While placing an order, they didn't have three of the items I asked for, even though it had been a while since the "tea room experience" had opened that morning. Nonetheless , I ordered and was admiring the creatively cozy setting in the old Portuguese home. While I was clicking pictures, there was a massive argument between the front desk manager and the chef. It was definitely an unpleasant experience to sit there after that. I simply picked up a postcard, cancelled my order and left. Even the other customer walked out after that. I wish it could have been different.

I recently visited Tea Trunk Café in Fontainhas, Panjim, and it turned out to be such a cozy little gem. The location itself is beautiful—right in the heritage area, surrounded by colorful houses and old churches. The café is tucked just to the left of the church, and though it’s small, it has a very warm and inviting vibe. We had dropped in just for a cup of tea without really knowing what to order. I tried their lemon tea cake, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had—soft, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Their tea selection is also impressive, with unique blends that make you want to keep coming back to try more. If you’re in Fontainhas and looking for a quiet spot to enjoy good tea and cakes, this place is absolutely worth visiting. Highly recommend it for anyone who loves cozy cafés with character!

Dropped by this very quaint cafe for a quick meet up. We ordered their iced teas and cold coffee both were fabulous! This cafe is suitated in a Panjim's Latin quarter next to St. Sebastian chapel. This goan heritage house is converted into a nice warm cafe, their service was quick with polite stewards and thier menu is affordable. Ambience looks mediterranean. Parking right in front of cafe is not possible as it a walking street and no motor vehicles allowed on this street.

Cute little café nestled near a church in Fontainhas, great food and great warm staff. Their matcha is legit and tastes wonderful, definitely worth ordering. Decent prices too. Quiet and cosy, great for a lazy morning.

Nice restaurant with an atmosphere that takes you back in time, both the building and waiter. Food is excellent, and for sure, fresh and well done by the chef, the taste closing the eyes brings you straight in Portugal by the seaside with Indian tuch, price is also reasonable The only pity is that the house is located in a very busy road so there is no chance to have a place ouside.

Horse Shoe has been on my list of places to dine at for a very long time. It was over the last weekend that I finally got a chance to have a meal here at dinner time. It is a small, but warm and cozy place inside. I was greeted by the host and chef, Vasco Silveira who personally sat us down for dinner. I have heard so much about this gentleman and watched his videos online and I finally was here. We ordered the Balchão de Peixe, the Porco Feijoada and unde for main course. The smoky, salty and earthy flavor of the fish was so good that it still lingers on my palate. The meat was cooked to perfect softness and the beans just added to the texture. The food was not very sophisticated and complex. It was simplicity personified. The meal and the accompanying chat with Vasco and Evelise was so heartening. It was a trip down nostalgia lane. A trip to the good old times. Hands down the best Luso Goan food I have ever had. Will highly recommend that place to anyone. Will definitely visit more often and whenever I feel saudade !! Amazing place! A true Gem in Goa where you can find authentic Goan Portuguese cuisine with its traditional taste. The owner is really kind and puts in a lot of effort to get the best quality dishes to your table. Unlike the overhyped restaurants in Goa. This place is very quiet and less crowded. The food flavours are subtle and not overpowering with extreme spice. If you like spicy food this place may not be for you but if you like to taste the proper flavours of the fish/meat with minimum spices but a lot of flavours then visit here. The best dish we had was the salted tongue and the clams cooked in white wine sauce. All of the dishes tasted excellent and won't make you feel tired and weighed down. A must visit in Panjim for true food lovers who will understand the palate.

One of the best place I have been in Panjim for Goan and Portuguese cuisine. All the food we ordered was delicately prepared to perfection. The ambience and the themed music makes you feel you are in a different country. The service is very quick. The food is reasonably priced. Definitely recommend this place if you want to try some Goan and Portuguese cuisine.

I had dinner here alone and I was a bit scared to feel weird being alone but the man of the staff was so nice and talked to me and made me feel at home. I had canapés and bacalao with butter and they were so good! So please come and support these non touristic restaurants where the food has quality and they have the passion for the service and quality

Very warm and friendly host who is the chef himself As we got the menu from the waiter the chef asked us about our preferences and suggested us some dishes which we would enjoy. Went with the Fish Butter and Garlic which I thoroughly enjoyed...I don't usually order fish but I'm definitely glad I did. The beef steak was well done and much enjoyed too. Will definitely visit again when in Panjim

This review was long due, really old pictures but so is this place😅 Really love this spot, it’s a little small but so cozy and preserves the olden Goa vibe perfectly. Innovative drinks choice, would definitely recommend the ‘Tambde Rosa’. The service is also real nice, I was offered a flower which was so sweet. The food is very delicious, fresh pao is served with every gravy and the masala’s are yummy. I’ve not been here in a long time but have recommended this place to all my friends who visit Goa and they love it. A definite must visit if you’re on a trip to Goa

Joseph Bar is a true Fontainhas institution. Stepping into this tiny, rustic tavern feels like you're getting a genuine, unvarnished piece of Panjim's history. It’s small, unpretentious, and perfectly embodies that old-school Goan charm. The atmosphere is cozy and lively, and you'll find a great mix of locals and tourists all crammed in together, which makes for some fun conversations. The drinks menu offers a good selection of local spirits, though I must admit, as someone who isn't a fan of feni, the popular Tambde Rosa cocktail wasn't quite for me. However, don't let that deter you! There are plenty of other options, including various local craft beers and other spirits, to enjoy. While the space can get quite crowded, especially on weekends, that's also part of its charm. My only reason for not giving it a perfect five stars is the sometimes cramped conditions and my personal taste leaning away from their most famous cocktail, but honestly, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers is part of the experience. Come here for a unique, authentic experience and a real taste of local Goan life. You'll definitely soak in the atmosphere.

This place is one of the oldest bars, yet it has a very cozy vibe. There’s usually a long queue, but it’s totally worth the wait. My husband and I absolutely loved the experience. The chicken chilly (semi-gravy with pav bread) was outstanding — delicious, flavorful, and quite different from the usual ones we’ve tried. We also tried Tamde Rosa and Mango Chilly Fenny. Personally, I didn’t enjoy them much, but my husband really liked them — so I guess it depends on individual taste. He had tried the Mango Chilly Fenny earlier, and this time, the flavor felt a bit different from before.

Josephs Bar is one of the oldest in Goa and requires a visit , however do be prepared for waiting period to get a table unless u reach early and a cover nominal cover charge we paid Rs400 per person. However once inside and seated it's a different world , old vintage goan vibes like time stopped and I liked the non fancy bar food and service . We had to try the cocktails here so ordered Mango chilli feni cocktail which I found too sweet , the Tambdi rose feni cocktail was perfect and I might have had to many 😅, no pork dishes were available that day which was disappointing however the squid masala and chicken masala were perfect the the goan spices fresh hit the right note ..a mix of locals and tourists makes it an interesting place to hang. Do visit when in Goa

Visited with friends, we tried exploring famous spots and found this place, all reviews talked about 2 feni cocktails (Mango chilli and rose/Gulab), we ordered both. My favourite was Mango chilli & People legar they were simple awesome. Pork Ribs was iconic, (tried belly as well but it was not my personal choice). The ambience, drink & host are something special I found, would definitely do there again. Out of my 4 days, visited twice 😊..

The place has its own vibe. While the food options may not be diverse, it’s worth visiting for the experience. The ambiance captures the charm of fountain has beautifully. The drinks are well crafted and reasonably priced. Highly recommended for at least one visit to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy a good drink

This is my parish church and this is where we live in peace and this is where we may rest in peace, as those who have gone before us are resting in peace here. Centrally located church serves the residents of St. Inez and areas around it. The Portuguese architecture is so beautiful and mesmerising. One feels at peace after entering the church. There's old world charm and the cool breeze enters through large doors and windows and the high ceiling keeps the place more cool, giving you peace of mind and that coolness of mind and heart. Fr. Adolfo Alvares is the parish priest and Fr. Joel assists him. Both are very good natured and ready to help and guide, whenever you need them. This is the church that does a lot of last rites as it has cemetery on both sides. Also the eligible parishioners come here to tie the nuptial knot and get the guidance about married life. Children are taught catechism. So much is there for everyone here, of all ages.

Perfect Spot for a traveller to be, church looks amazing at night in Panjim Market as everything is very nearby from there - Casinos, Dominos, 1 shop (in case you want cigarettes) stays open till 2 AM midnight & this is the only one shop in whole panjim.

Nice pretty church & well maintained cemetery. Unfortunately the main road has been dug and created issues for elderly and physically impaired persons. Parking space is small in the church and people park on the road. But due to the digging that is not possible now. Hope work finishes soon.

Small but nice joint. Go to place frequented by the localites. If you are travelling to Goa and go to Panaji, don't miss this place. We ordered for Prawns Roast dry and asked the owner to make it spicy. When the dish came and with the first bite, we were transported to a divine place. Hats off guys . This is one good place to have ur tummy filled for lunch. Situated nearby the panjim market. The atmosphere is not tat attractive nor the location. But taste wise its more tan wat u could expect. The prawns fry and the fish thalis are mind blowing. In addition u can chill out with some nice liquor along with the tasty food. Prices are decent. Tis place is worth a visit for me.

First visit during lunchtime Seating in first floor AC hall. Low ceiling with basic seating. Dont expect an ambience. Its a small restaurant. Food: delicious, reasonably priced and decent quantities. Their thalis are the highlight. We had Modso fish thali and Prawns Fish Thali. Prawns chilly fry was decent We also really liked Crab Xec Xec. My mother in law found the fried fish and prawns a bit more spicy (hitting the throat). Else we liked the food.

Small restaurant in Panjim. It's a pocket friendly place with decent food. We tried chonak tawa fry and beer, it goes well.. we went on weekday at around १२ so only gents were there, not sure if its good to go with family..

Excellent location for a corporate gathering Was here last Saturday the 15th July for convocation program of Masters esG from IICSR Goa. Great location, thanks to Mr Amonkar the DG of Goa Chamber.

Place has a limited siting capacity and is situated in the heart of the city.

The tile work was beautiful, ceramics were a bit generic but the holier than thou attitude was hard to ignore. Some customers are paid more attention and given warm welcome compared to the others, the criteria of such bias is known to the handlers themselves. Artistic talent doesn’t excuse selective hospitality, after all it’s still a business at the end of the day and not a private club!

This is a super duper expensive place to buy porcelain bric-à-brac’s for gifts or for personal use. While the stuff there is exquisite, so are the prices which are positively eye watering, but then this is not a place for the faint hearted. They have porcelain crosses, diyas , picture frames, bowls, wall decor, and a whole lot of other stuff. Do visit it because it’s definitely worth a look, but be careful if you break it, it’s sold.

This shop has a good ceramic selection , a lot of the items are imported from Portugal. Its not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Great design, good craftsmanship and service.

Beautiful tiles and ceramic artefacts. One-of-a-kind shop in Panjim. But their staff needs to be bit more hospitable towards Indian clients as well.

The owner didn't even acknowledge our presence in the shop. He was attending one other couple for over 20 minutes. I just stayed In the shop because of the love for the painted tiles and wanted to take one home as a souvenir from Goa. Otherwise would have left the store in an instance. I recommend any other shop than this.

The place is OKish but the prices which they ask are exorbitant. If one has the patience to look at different markets, one could find the same items at a reasonable rate, but maybe due the location or the rent that they are paying, the prices are on the steeper side. It has a wide variety of items one could carry as sovereign and the quality of the products are superb, good for gifting purposes.

The jack fruit pickle that a friend of mine gifted us in the mid April was truly. amazing ...JUST LOVED IT ! happy to recommend a visit to the store - Global to Local - I would say GO(A) LOCAL :). - it has some lovely beautiful locally created stuff that you will all love to carry a bit off GOA with you.. next time you are in goa ..just GO visit GloCal - The Goan Supermarket , Global to Local !!

The store had konkani music playing. The light shades were so much like the ones in my great granny's house. The staff were super courteous and hospitable. Everyone at my home and me enjoyed the pickles I got from this store. I have never been so thrilled to have been to a food store like I am visiting Global to Local. Good items for gifting. Very close to Viva Panjim. So you can have a look at the artifacts, gift items and then go for a lovely meal.

Terrible experience. When people call asking for help when snakes enter their homes, they're clearly panicking. And the receptionist doesn't have the skill and competence to handle such situations. When I called asking where the snake rescuers had reached because it was already past 30mins guarding a fricking cobra, the lady just rudely cut the call. These people need to understand that civilians who are asked to guard snakes, especially the venomous kind, are obviously in a state of panic, they don't have the frigging experience neither the skills of guarding snakes!! These people need to understand that they do not work these jobs for free or as a favour to general public but are drawing salaries. Not to mention, this is a government organisation, and the salary drawn by these employees is in fact from the tax paid to the government by the general public, who are then not even graced with a humane response. Terrible staff. It is indeed sad to witness such unprofessionalism in places of work where animal welfare and safety of the civilians, both need to be the priority. Yet you are met with people who quite possibly have never had an encounter with rat snake asking an 60year old lady to guard a fully grown adult cobra over the phone call. How absolutely ironic is that.

Very poor response. We have snakes entering our house every second day. When we call them they expect us to guard the snake, and if the snake is not to be seen there's no effort made from their side to locate the snake. Very disappointing, especially after informing them that we have 2 toddlers in our house.

Doesn’t answer calls. If by chance they answered than guy is always sleepy and talk like absent minded. Says he will send someone but doesn’t take down the number or the address. (Some super power he has) This is the fourth time python has entered my house and twice that i called forest department they either don’t answer or answer and than no response or follow up after.

A steep climb of winding stairs through the woods, with each flight painted in multiple colors. Makes an interesting climb with new visuals at every turn. Also, a panoramic view of Fontainhas and Patto beyond as you gain height. Go up, turn left on the road and within 300m you can get to the peacock painted stairs.

Pretty cool colorful rainbow stairs for photos. They are great to visit if you're passing through or if you're close, however not worth a special trip to see them. It would be interesting to learn about who decided to paint them!

What a beautiful location but abandoned and dirty unfortunately

The stairs were nice but having locals shout nasty words and obscenities at me while trying to enjoy them was very disappointing. They told me “we don’t want tourists here” and threw things at other tourists. Even other Indian tourists were treated this way. Do NOT visit this place. Do not eat at the restaurants in this area. Do NOT spend any money in the shops. Do NOT stay in any of the hotels, guesthouses or hostels. Visit North Goa or South Goa or Old Goa instead and avoid here completely. Do NOT give them any tourist money

There is literally nothing. Just a painted flight of stairs. You will anyway cross this place when you are returning from the photo spots in Fontainhas. Recommend stop 2mins.

Because of the lethargic staff the name of CCP goes down. Such people's day start with Frooti and Batatwada's. Very rude and arrogant behaviour of the staff, specially in Admin and Taxation section.

The panjim muncipal corporation comprises of some of the most ineffecient people. Who run the corporation. Very year water logging ,garbage electricity problems.

Beautiful sculpture, one cannot miss it if one is walking through. Abot Faria is considered the father of modern hypnosis, he is shown in one such session here.

Its a well made statue depicting Pastor Faria and his hypnosis session in progress. If you pass by it without knowing what it is, you might assume it's a cool piece of art installation in Panjim city.

Abbé Faria (Portuguese: Abade Faria), or Abbé (Abbot) José Custódio de Faria (31 May 1756 – 20 September 1819), was a Luso-Goan Catholic monk who was one of the pioneers of the scientific study of hypnotism, following on from the work of Franz Mesmer. Unlike Mesmer, who claimed that hypnosis was mediated by "animal magnetism", Faria understood that it worked purely by the power of suggestion. In the early 19th century, Abbé Faria introduced oriental hypnosis to Paris. He was one of the first to depart from the theory of the "magnetic fluid", to place in relief the importance of suggestion, and to demonstrate the existence of "autosuggestion"; he also established that what he termed nervous sleep belongs to the natural order. From his earliest magnetizing séances, in 1814, he boldly developed his doctrine. Nothing comes from the magnetizer; everything comes from the subject and takes place in his imagination generated from within the mind. Magnetism is only a form of sleep. Although of the moral order, the magnetic action is often aided by physical, or rather by physiological, means–fixedness of look and cerebral fatigue. Faria changed the terminology of mesmerism. Previously, the focus was on the "concentration" of the subject. In Faria's terminology the operator became "the concentrator" and somnambulism was viewed as a lucid sleep. The method of hypnosis used by Faria is command, following expectancy. The theory of Abbé Faria is now known as Fariism. Later, Ambroise-Auguste Liébeault (1864–1904), the founder of the Nancy School, and Émile Coué (1857–1926), father of applied conditioning, developed the theory of suggestion and autosuggestion and began using them as therapeutic tools. Johannes Schultz developed these theories as Autogenic training.

So far,so good but be prepared to wait if you are sending parcels or anything. There's only two counter for us.Once I had to wait one hour just to send one parcel. They should hire more staff. If you are sending parcel abroad, take a photocopy of your Id card and fill custom declaration form.
