Nestled in the scenic Mae Rim district of Chiang Mai, Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park is a delightful eco-conscious destination that offers a unique twist on recycling. This charming park invites visitors to explore the fascinating process of transforming elephant dung into various paper products, including journals and stationery. Perfect for families, it features interactive exhibits where you can learn about sustainability while crafting your own POOPOOPAPER souvenirs.
A very pleasant place to visit with children. You can learn how paper is made from fiber — in this case, fiber sourced from animal droppings. Everything is clean and properly washed, and it highlights an alternative, eco-friendly raw material. The guides are great at explaining the process, and at the end, there’s a chance to take part in hands-on activities using the handmade paper. The kids absolutely loved that part!

A visit to the Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park in Chiang Mai is definitely worthwhile, especially for anyone who loves elephants. (There’s NO REAL 🐘) The staff explain the entire papermaking process in great detail. It’s fascinating to see how they turn elephant dung into paper! The park also offers a hands-on activity where you can create your own craft, which is a big hit for families with kids. It's a fun and educational experience for all ages. And be warned: the gift shop at the end is amazing! There are so many unique souvenirs that you'll definitely want to buy. 🐘🐘🐘
Ariel L — Google review
What a funny and unique tour. They have a very cool setup and hands on tour. Sweet seeing the process from elephant poop to paper. You get to actually make a sheet of paper yourself too! Was about 45min and well worth it. (Especially in the area that’s it’s at there are several things to do to make a day of it). Recommend looking at tour times online and can walk up or buy in advance.
Ben T — Google review
We had some time whilst travelling from Chiang Dao to Chiang Mai, and we've heard of this social enterprise before so we thought to drop by. It is overpriced - 150 thb gets you a small elephant-shaped paper, a quick simplified explanation of the poop-to-paper process by an uninterested guide, and a very brief hands-on experience (but you can't take the paper home). I thought perhaps it's meant for children, but there were 2 kids in our tour and they didnt seem particularly engaged.
YJ K — Google review
Had much fun!! The tour guide was able to speak in English well. I went a little before 4, which was their last English tour of the day. See pic for their current tour times. I walked in with no issues. No other visitors were in my group, so I had a one-on-one session. I was able to ask questions. The making of the paper was included in the 150thb tour fee. I had fun!
Beatrice W — Google review
This place is pretty far out, so if you're not also planning to visit other nearby attractions, I honestly feel it can be skipped. There are guided tours at fixed times, every 40 minute intervals and costs 150baht per pax. The guide was quite humorous, and thankfully for that because otherwise the tour wasn't much. Elephant poopoo paper park is a misnomer. It's just a marketing point because it's quite simply just a place selling generic recycled paper products. Basically, the park shows you what materials are used for making recycled paper, how it's done, and you get a little hands on (spread the paper mush over a screen). The tour concludes at their DIY area where you choose which items you wish to buy (additional costs depending on what items you select) and decorate. There is also a painting area, so i suppose you could just pay for these diy items without the tour. But again, I personally wouldn't travel just for this. They do sell a lot of their recycled paper products. If you just want to buy souvenirs without the tour, I did notice that they had a booth at One Ninman Do spam lots of Mosquito repellant if you do visit
Tricia T — Google review
Fun place to learn about how poo poo paper is made. It's fascinating for kids to think that waste of an animal can be converted into useful materials. There are also hands-on activities for the kids, and adults, to do. It's a great pit stop after a full day of hiking or physical activities.
Daniel L — Google review
What a wonderful venture. We were treated to an interesting tour which was engaging for adults and children alike. The experience is very hands on and everyone enjoyed making some paper as well as creating a craft with the provided materials (note there is a small fee for this). The shop is also packed with lovely gifts and souvenirs made from the elephant poo products. Highly recommend this as an educational and fun experience.

Tiger Kingdom is a tiger nursery where visitors can interact with tigers of all ages in trainer-supervised enclosures. The facility houses about a hundred well-fed and satisfied tigers in large enclosures. While some may argue that the tigers would be better off in the wild, statistics show that they live longer in captivity and are consistently fed. It's recommended to visit at least a couple of aviaries, focusing on the smallest and largest tigers for an unforgettable experience.
I had an amazing experience at Tiger Kingdom Chiang Mai! The staff were outstanding—very friendly, professional, and spoke excellent English, which made everything smooth and comfortable. They explained clearly how to interact with the tigers and were always nearby to ensure safety. Their care and attention really made me feel at ease. The tigers were calm, gentle, and well-cared for, and the trainers did a fantastic job guiding us. I felt safe the whole time thanks to their support. I especially recommend visiting the big tigers and the smallest ones—they were both calm, cute, and unforgettable. Highly recommended, and huge thanks to the amazing staff for making it such a special experience!

I don't like closed animals. But I love tigers, so I thought I wanted to visit that place. The staff is very friendly, I was alone and it was no problem to ask the staff for photos with my mobile phone. The places where the tigers are are very clean, I think the tigers live in cleanliness and have enough space. The price is according to the size or age of the tiger or you can have different packages for a better price. Mixed feelings, I liked the place, but I don't like closed animals.
Filip R — Google review
They look pretty healthy to me some even a bit chubby, well fed and well taken care of. The place doesn’t smell bad and I saw candid interactions from care taker and tigers. Not a lot of people when we went there. Price is not too bad, the fact that you’re seeing a tiger up close and touching them too. Plus the money goes to taking care of them. I see a lot of comments saying “animal ab-se”, I honestly don’t think so. Also, they don’t sedate them. They just sleep 16 hours a day. (Normally they sleep 18-20hrs, but since they don’t need to hunt because they are getting fed they don’t need that much sleep)
Mari C — Google review
There are two views from me. All tigers are chubby and well taken care of from the the first instance. Clean and non smelly eventhough I visit during non tourist season. But one particular guy in the medium sized tiger place, pulls sleeping tigers tail and moves the heavy tiger without any respect to the animal. I felt sad seeing this. Saw some reviews about tigers were sedated here, may be true. Good for people to take photo. Good experience, but out of good staffs, some staffs are rude to animals.
Akhil — Google review
Unforgettable Experience at Tiger Kingdom! Visiting Tiger Kingdom was a truly unique and thrilling experience. Getting up close with the tigers was both exciting and awe-inspiring. The animals looked healthy and well cared for, and the staff were professional, friendly, and ensured safety at all times. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interact with these majestic creatures. Highly recommended for animal lovers and adventure seekers visiting Chiang Mai!
Biradar B — Google review
The staff was friendly and helpful, guiding us on how to safely interact with the tigers and assisting with photos. We chose the medium-sized tigers, and I was impressed by how big and active they were. It was a unique opportunity to see them up close. Overall, it was a memorable visit.
Ariel L — Google review
Thank God I went to this place, there was literally no queue to enter and take photos when compared to other tiger kingdoms. Kids enjoyed taking photos with the little ones. It was scary when entering the cage of bigger ones but yea, their masters were around us all the time, I took their digital photo service, it was worth the clarity and they immediately transferred it to my phone.
Senthil P — Google review
No other place on earth lets you experience big cats in an enclosed structure the way that Tiger Kingdom allows. The staff were educated, safe, and provided security every step of the way. The knowledge presented by the staff surpassed any zoo I have attended. We were allowed to see more than the normal ticket allowed. My wife fell in love with the wild cats. The staff led us to the hybrid cats and explained all information for our understanding.

Located in Chiang Mai Old Town, THE HOUSE by Ginger is a popular restaurant housed in an ancient colonial mansion. The interior is beautifully decorated and the menu features clever and creative dishes made from homegrown organic vegetables. The extensive menu offers high-quality options, making it challenging to choose just one dish. Some personal favorites include the Mixed Appetizer, Tom Yum Kung, and Slow-Braised Beef in Lime-Coconut Cream.
We came here without knowing that it was a Michelin star restaurant. But it was a great surprise. It had a very good atmosphere with excellent decor. The food is great. We had the le crispy pork with Thai basil and the khao soi with braised beef. Both very good. The appetizer mix is also very good for the price. The waiters are very efficient and friendly.
Alex G — Google review
I visit this restaurant since I was in high school and now almost 30 yo. The atmosphere and service are amazing but the food options are limited. They mostly serve Thai fusion/ twisting food but the taste is good. The price is generally higher than others. It is usually fully booked during high seasons or festivals. Not many parking. Better make a reservation before you go.
Siwahdol C — Google review
Beautiful, spacious restaurant with lovely décor and a relaxing atmosphere. The farm-to-table idea is great, and the food itself wasn’t bad — flavors were decent. The Miang Kham was a bit dry and not as flavorful as usual, the fresh rolls were sticky (though they tasted ok), and the steak was rather tough. Everything came out almost at the same time, and the steak was already cold — we hadn’t even touched the appetizers yet. We were hoping to enjoy it fresh, but it didn’t seem like it was prepared to order. The garlic on the steak plate was also dry — a small touch of oil could’ve made it better (or maybe it was just for decoration!). The biggest issue, though, was the cucumber, which wasn’t fresh — without that, the meal would’ve been much better. I even ate one before noticing a mold spot, hopefully it wasn’t a bad one. My boyfriend ended up with a stomach ache afterward, though I didn’t — he had most of the duck, so we’re not sure what caused it, maybe just too much meat. Maybe we came too early and they used ingredients from the night before, but that shouldn’t happen for a place like this. Still, it’s a pleasant spot for the ambiance.

Absolutely delicious! The flavors were perfectly balanced and authentic! One of the best Thai meals I've ever had. The staff was kind and welcoming too. Highly recommend.

One of the best Pas Thai in town. Deep fried Lotus root is amazing as well as Fresh Spring Roll. Steam seafood curry in young Coconut is one of my favorite. Cocktail and drink are amazing. The service is excellent. Just communicate and explain how I would like the level of spicy because I am not prefer spicy and not sweet. Overall is one of the best in town👏
Susan P — Google review
Food: 8/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 A decent restaurant where you can find all Thai specialties in one. The food was traditional, suitable for first-time visitors. Not many options for drinks so we mostly opted for coconuts. The food was a bit spicy and salty as they should be. Prices were fair.
Lam M — Google review
We went on a Saturday evening with no reservations and there were no seats indoors, which was a pity as the interior looked beautiful. We settled for the outdoor seats, which were low and didnt seem too clean. While it wasnt very comfortable dining in dim lighting, the dishes were mostly excellent and well-presented.
YJ K — Google review
The food was amazing!! As a Thai food lover, this restaurant is definitely on my top 5 list! I really recommend the tomyum seafood soup and the steamed lemon sea bass! The drinks were also refreshing, and I ordered a mixed berry smoothie while my parents ordered an iced Thai milk tea. It was a delicious journey!!!

Restaurant
Huen Muan Jai is a well-known cafe housed in a restored wooden villa with a charming garden. It's famous for serving authentic Northern Thai cuisine, offering traditional local fare like Sai Aua (Northern Thai Sausage) and Gang Hang Lay (Northern-Style Pork Curry). The restaurant is popular for its Or Dep Muang, an appetizer platter featuring crispy baked pork, green chili dip, fried pork, Chiang Mai sausage, Gang Hang Lay, and assorted veggies.
This restaurant, right in the heart of Chiang Mai, offers absolutely amazing food. The interior is beautifully designed, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The menu is inspired by the northern region of Thailand, and everything we tried was outstanding. We had several dishes, probably ten or more, and they were all delicious. I highly recommend the mixed platters, where you can try a variety of different items. The service is top-notch – the staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful, and they speak excellent English. I highly recommend visiting this place for anyone looking for great food in a beautiful setting. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear that this place is special!”
Keusen K — Google review
Had high hopes and most of them were met! The vibes were fantastic and very serene. The service was quick and pleasant, and we only waited for about 25 minutes on a busy Saturday. :) Here is a list of what we had and our ratings: * Khao Soi (Northern Thai Curry Noodle Soup): 5/5 - A must-try! For me, only the version at Kin Khao in SF has been better. * Northern Platter: A must to start out strong! (Below are my Favorites) - Gaeng Hang Lay (Northern Thai Pork Belly Curry): 5/5– Reminded me of my father’s mutton preparation. - Nam Prik Ong (Thai Pork and Tomato Chili Dip): 4/5 - Sai Oua (Northern Thai Sausage): 4/5 * Khua Pak Chiang-da Sai Khai (Stir-fried Gymnema Vegetable with Egg): 4/5 - Worth a try. * Gaeng Khae Pla Duk (Spicy Vegetable Curry with Catfish): 2/5 - Sorry, I didn’t like this at all. We thought it was mostly flavorless and overwhelmingly fishy in taste. This was a great introduction to the world of Northern Thai food. Definitely recommend! 🙏
Yashash G — Google review
Huen Muan Jai is one of the best places in Chiang Mai to experience truly authentic Northern Thai food. Their Sai Ua (Northern Thai sausage) is incredibly flavorful, perfectly spiced, and tastes so fresh. The fried pork belly is super crispy on the outside and tender inside — a must-try! The atmosphere feels local and cozy, making the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to taste real Northern Thai flavors. 👍
Phyo P — Google review
Huen Muan Jai is the real deal when it comes to authentic Northern Thai (Lanna) cuisine. The flavors are spot on—rich, balanced, and truly representative of Chiang Mai’s local food culture. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality and generous portions. The menu has plenty of variety, so it’s a great place to try different Northern specialties all in one spot. Atmosphere is cozy and local-style—seating can feel a little small and tight, but that’s part of the true local eatery. Service is friendly and efficient. Overall, a must-visit if you want to experience Chiang Mai food the way locals enjoy it. Delicious, affordable, and authentic.
Krid K — Google review
Delicious food that tastes just like home-cooked meals from mom’s kitchen! Authentic Northern Thai flavors — rich, comforting, and satisfying. The restaurant is spacious and welcoming, with reasonable prices. It can get a bit busy, so you might need to wait for a table, but it’s definitely worth it for the great food and local taste! No wonder they’ve been awarded a Michelin Star for five consecutive years!
S L — Google review
This restaurant offers a fantastic, high-quality Northern Thai food experience. It clearly has a stellar reputation, as it is incredibly popular with both local people and domestic Thai travelers. I have been invited here twice by Thai friends from Bangkok, and both visits confirmed its excellence. Be aware that no reservations are permitted, and you should expect to wait around 30 minutes for a table, but the amazing food makes the delay completely worth the wait. If you're looking for real, traditional cuisine in a great setting, this is definitely a must-try spot!
Master H — Google review
Outstanding North Thai cuisine restaurant in Chiang Mai. The service was attentive and kids friendly and the food was excellent, recommended to try the curry pork with sticky rice. What a joy and a discovery. I can only recommend it.
David S — Google review
Had a late lunch here with my wife and everything was fantastic. We ordered the crispy pork belly, the appetizer platter, and the chicken khao soi. The appetizer platter was our favorite and came with a great mix of flavors. Portions were big — we definitely ordered more than we could finish and left super full. Service was very fast and the total was only about 500 baht for everything. Great spot for Northern Thai food in Chiang Mai, highly recommend!

Samsen Villa offers a serene escape with its lush garden and river views, providing both indoor and outdoor dining options. The extensive menu features over 200 dishes, including the flavorful red curry soup with river snails. While the food is above average, some find better value at smaller local Thai restaurants. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and inviting, with exceptional service that exceeds expectations. Diners praise the outstanding food presentation and flavors, making it a memorable dining experience for couples or families.
A Hidden Gem by the River – A Perfect Evening Experience This beautiful riverside restaurant truly exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the charming atmosphere and attention to detail. Nestled right by the water, the setting is nothing short of idyllic — especially in the evening, when the outdoor area is gently illuminated and the reflections on the river create a magical ambiance. Both the interior and exterior spaces are thoughtfully designed, offering comfort and elegance whether you choose to dine indoors or out. The terrace is particularly stunning at night, perfect for a romantic dinner or a relaxed evening with friends. The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was prepared with clear attention to quality and flavor, showcasing fresh ingredients and a refined touch. It’s rare to find such consistency in both presentation and taste — this place delivers on both fronts. What truly set the experience apart, however, was the warm and welcoming team. The staff was exceptionally friendly, professional, and attentive without ever being intrusive. You can feel that they genuinely care about their guests’ experience, and it made a lasting impression. One highlight not to miss: the foamed beer. It’s a unique specialty of the house and adds an unexpectedly delightful twist to the usual beverage experience — creamy, smooth, and perfectly chilled. Definitely something to try, even if you’re not typically a beer drinker. In short, this restaurant is a rare find — a perfect combination of stunning location, excellent cuisine, and outstanding service. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

Located in a villa, this Michelin-rated restaurant has seatings within a garden and indoors as well. Tom yum soup was a little disappointing, although the prawn was fresh. The beef with tomato was the best dish for all. We ordered egg omelette, but they missed this order so we cancelled it after finishing the rest. Service wise, could be better. When clearing plates, there were clanging of plates and utensils. Attitude was good though. Price wise, rather expensive. Bill for eight of us at Thai Baht 5,100 or about 650 baht each.

Nice Service and Good Taste of Thai foods. You can enjoy a free complementary dessert when give 3 of 5-stars reviews at the exact time of dining on the table.
Patapat C — Google review
The food is decent but really it's just average for Thailand. I'm not surprised the last Michelin recommend is from 2023. They've milked the Michelin rec as much as they could and are now selling snacks and whatever they can. We ordered fish (usually takes at least 20min), soup and some other dishes and we're surprised that everything was on the table within 5-10min. They've maximized efficiency over the freshness, as the fish was definitely pre-fried and then kept warm. Everything was good but nothing special. The coconut shake was too sweet. The service was efficient again, but lackluster. Good parking if you have a car. Would I come back? No.

Very nice place near the river. It is a good mixture of Thai and western food. Especially if you want to taste the sea this far up north. Good atmosphere. Good service.
Kavin P — Google review
I had higher expectations for a place that has Michelin star rated plates. I had the red snail curry which was very tasty and flavorful whereas the fried squid was quite chewy and bland. I thought the prices were very high compared to other local restaurants. The service was just ok... not a whole lot of engagement or interaction. One of the benefits was that there was some live music which made the atmosphere a bit better. Overall, it was an ok experience.

I had a wonderful experience at Samsen Villa. The food was tasty and well prepared, and the presentation was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the service outstanding. Definitely a place I would recommend and visit again.

The restaurant Pongyang Angdoi is a great place to enjoy Thai food in a beautiful setting. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. The menu has lots of options to choose from, and the prices are reasonable.
This restaurant is a hidden gem, beautifully located on a lush green hillside. It’s like a paradise with lots of good parking spaces, though you might not spot it easily from the outside. There’s a charming roofed outdoor seating area by a small stream, adding to the serene vibe. The food is fantastic; I particularly enjoyed the German sausages and the Pad Krapao, both were excellent. Many dishes are organic, which I really appreciate. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. Outside, there’s a small gelateria with amazing handmade ice cream that’s definitely worth trying. Though it’s a bit pricier, it’s absolutely worth it.
Keusen K — Google review
Average Thai food, pricey but understandable as it's on the halfway mountain with it's nice scenery and atmosphere. The fried broccoli is crunchy and easy to eat, especially for my older folks. Wing bean salad is quit refreshing, the rest of the dishes are average. However scenery and atmosphere is great, surrounded by greeneries and "small forested mountains"

Food is so so, nothing really impressive or goes really wrong. The banana flowers salad has a coconut taste. Service wise friendly but limited English level. Some of the food portions are small, and is more expensive than other local Thai restaurants………the menu looks like they have a lot of choices but in reality is they repeatedly listed the same items a couple of times over different pages in the menu…..view is excellent and you can hear the river creek running while you enjoy the food
Charmander L — Google review
A magical place with stunning views and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the prices were higher than expected for simple Thai food, so I probably won’t be coming back.

A river restaurant which sets a good location for dining. Food is ok and portions are good for group. Expect some insects since it is near the river but it is ok. Service is awesome! A popular place for tourist so expect to wait for a while.

Pro Excellent spot to have a nice dinner and enjoy the beautiful scenery and hearing the creek flowing downhill. Great spot to have events. The portions are massive. Excellent food. Con - I thought it was dumb that they required you to look at the menu and order before siting down at your seat. Even though it’s a sit down restaurant.

Food is delicious, some dishes can be very spicy, but I enjoyed nonetheless. Their Tom Yam Goong was really good. I love their grilled fish too, it was served with many veggies and herbs at the side. Many local dined at the restaurant when I was there. You can enjoy the view of flowing river while dining, the only downside is the numerous flies in the restaurant.
Simin T — Google review
A decent clean and scenic place for a meal if you must eat near Queen Sirikit Garden. The prices are 2-3 times more expensive compared to other good restaurants. Pad Thai was too sweet and wet. The others were decent and I liked the egg curry and fried pork the most. There were some flies, which was annoying but I guess it's common for places near a river.

Kiti Panit is a classy restaurant located in a former teak mansion on Thapae Road. The owners, descendants of the original mansion's owners, have transformed it into an elegant dining space. They've brought in chefs from a MICHELIN Starred Saawaan to put a modern twist on traditional Lanna cuisine.
In surprising delicacies in the historical building The service staff enthusiastically recommends dishes that hit the taste buds 👍 The delicious dinner is accompanied by the service staff's flower-like smiles 😋😉🌻❤️ It is so satisfying 😇 It is worth coming here to taste the food 👍

Tbh the worst food experience so far since I arrived in Chiang Mai… hot water costs 35B. Rice was hard ( in my opinion they mix new and old rice). Service is not attentive. It was basically empty and it’s still not easy to catch the waiters attention somehow. But it doesn’t stop them charging you service fee! One dish with pork and vegetables they charge 300b… and it’s tasteless! Incredible how they run the business like this.
Shu H — Google review
Went to a Michelin guide recommended restaurant. Atmosphere is good, old shop house that turned into a restaurant preserving its 5 generation of roots. The food is alright, nothing outstanding or had a wow factor. Kao Soi was basically curry mee with mee pok [just a little overrated]. Jackfruit salad and northern pork curry were pretty good and was a little different from the standard Thai food. Jackfruit salad is a little bit nearer to the fish sauce side if you prefer less I would avoid this. Overall a pretty decent restaurant, a little bit spenny compared to standard prices. But a nice place to bring friends/ family around for a special occasion

the food was good. i like the boiled cabbage, Hungle soup and chicken with corriander salad. the stir fried veg was good as well. The service was average. The decoration is old school vibe.

First meal in Chiang Mai and tried Kiti Panit as it is located near where I stay. Food portion was sufficient for 4-5 pax. (I ordered 4 dishes for 5 pax)Taste wise, it somehow reminded me of Peranakan food though, especially the pork curry. But the food should be good for tourists outside of ASEAN, as I expected a stronger taste. Nevertheless the Aeb Pla (grilled fish) was good and recommend to try that dish. Service was good though and I appreciate the patience from the service staff.
Ben L — Google review
TL;DR: Elevated Thai with elevated prices. I would rate Kiti Panit a solid 3.5 stars out of 5. This will be one of the pricier meals you'll have in Chiang Mai. We had the Larb, Fermented Tea Leaf Salad, and Crying Tiger Beef. The Larb and Tea Leaf Salad were decent, but the Crying Tiger Beef was amazing. Service was average. There wasn't anything that stood out good or bad. The restaurant is set in an old general store and provided a great atmosphere. There were displays of old artifacts throughout which really brought out the history of the location. Based on our experience, I would say give this place a try. The Crying Tiger Beef is worth it! Maybe order something else besides the Larb and Tea Leaf Salad though. Note: Cocktails are on the light side. We could barely taste any alcohol. They were delicious, but you won't get a buzz from just one.
Michael C — Google review
The food are with strong flavours. Curry slightly on salty, need to have with rice. Feel a bit uneasy as the staffs keep coming back and ask if ready to take order.
Verlynn G — Google review
This Chiang Mai dish is not a traditional northern Thai cuisine. I am unaware of the Michelin award process, but I would like to express my dissatisfaction with this establishment. The flavor profile is unbalanced, lacking the distinctive taste of Lanna or northern Thai cuisine. The dish is excessively bland and devoid of saltiness. The waiter’s service is also lacking in professionalism. Furthermore, the booking process is inconvenient. Customers are required to make a full payment in advance and adhere to the allocated meal quantity. Refunds are not available if the meal is consumed less than the reserved amount. Despite its pleasant atmosphere, I cannot recommend this establishment.

Chinese restaurant
Yangzi Jiang is a Chinese restaurant located in the trendy Nimman area, offering high-quality Cantonese cuisine within a traditional wooden house. Despite the somewhat underwhelming interior, the dishes are truly impressive and reasonably priced. As the second branch of its kind, this Hong Kong-style eatery has maintained its popularity for about two years by serving delicious yet affordable menus.
I heard that there are many customers, so I made a reservation by phone in advance and visited. I visited at 12 p.m. on weekdays, and there were many customers in the restaurant. But it wasn't busy or noisy. The cute staff who welcomed me with a shy smile were so kind. My husband and I ordered dim sum, Xiaolongbao, and duck dishes. The food shown in the first picture was really delicious(soy sauce served with together was really delicious), but I couldn't eat it well because it contained coriander. If you don't like coriander, be careful. I don't know if you can take out the coriander. Shrimp dim sum and chives shrimp dim sum were also so delicious. I can pay with a credit card, and thanks to my kind employees, I had a good meal.

Finally got a chance to stop by for a quick lunch after recommended by friend. The place is conveniently located at Soi Nimman 5. BBQ and dimsum is delicious with reasonable price.
Panvarin J — Google review
This used to be my family’s go-to dim sum restaurant for years. However, during our last visit, we were shocked to find a cockroach in the noodles near the end of our meal. It was extremely disgusting and raised serious concerns about the restaurant’s hygiene standards. We immediately informed the staff, who apologized and offered a 10% discount (only on a few items, not the full bill) Given the severity of the situation, the response felt inadequate and disappointing. Sadly, after this experience, I can no longer recommend this place, and we won’t be returning

Delicious Chinese cuisine here, the char siu pork was exceptional as was the crispy belly pork and roast goose. Nice experience overall. Car parking is available although quite limited.

Finally got a chance to stop by for a quick lunch after reading some recommendation from the internet. The place is conveniently located at Soi Nimman 5. Inside the restaurant, the interior appears quite dated, and there is a musty odor emanating from the aging air-conditioning system. Food falls below average regarding freshness, quality, and refinement. A major disappointment is the use of clear mushy frozen shrimp as an ingredient in the dim sum. Lava cream bun is excessively sweet. Staff and service is nothing special. TBH, you won't miss much.

Traditional Cantonese food in Chiangmai. Price may be very cheap but the quality is good. Their noodle portion is a lot, can be shared by two people. Dim sum price is good, the buns are tasty. The dumplings are also good. But better to come with many people so you can order more to share.

Great dim sum place. Easy access from both street sides and several parkings available. We had dim sum and they were all fresh and tasty. Service is friendly but limited in English. Good pricing. Place was very crowded around 7pm on a Friday night but most people finished their meals by 7:45pm. Surely coming back

Maadae Slow Fish Kitchen is a laid-back yet slightly upscale Thai restaurant that offers a limited but high-quality menu of fresh, sustainably harvested fish and seafood sourced directly from fishing communities in southern Thailand. The indoor-outdoor seating area is located in an alley off Thaphae Road known as the Iron District, where guests can also find a coffee kiosk, live music bar, and arts space called Thapae East.
Well-cooked and seasoned fish. Sauces were bright, flavorful, and addicting. Very pleasing dining expereience, made even exceptional with refreshing whites on the side. Would like to try more of the honey wines and different menus next time.
Alex ( — Google review
The dish has a good flavor and is not overly spicy. This may not the authentic flavor, possibly because it has been altered to appeal to people from other countries. The components that are utilized are of high quality and freshness. The shop has a nice appearance, however it can be a little on the tiny side. Because there are not a lot of seats available, you should make your reservation in advance. Additionally, due to the location of the shop, it could be a little bit challenging to get a parking spot. In general, it is not considered to be bad.
Yuppared S — Google review
Amazing seafood! Fresh grilled fish, tasty salads (especially loved the pomelo salad), a good crab omelet, and a 900g fish that was the star of the meal – fresh, delicate, and full of flavor. A bit pricey (1,900 baht for everything), but worth it for a special treat. Don’t miss the lemon-honey soda – super refreshing! 🥳🥰
שרון א — Google review
I came here alone, so I just ordered two dishes. Personally, I liked the food. I enjoy a variety of flavors, and everything had a nice mix of sweet, salty, and bold tastes. The pomelo dish reminded me of yum from Isan food, a bit sweet and salty with that kick of kapi flavor, which I really liked. I also ordered a 600g fish. Yes, you can squeeze some lime over it and dip it in seafood sauce, then eat it with rice. So good. The only downside is the price. It’s not exactly budget friendly, but I can understand. *** I recommend booking before you go to save time and avoid long queues. They do accept walk-ins, but you might have to wait a while.
Jehp N — Google review
Love the place! We literally ordered every food on the menu! Some dishes could taste alright but most of them are super delicious. Highly recommend to come with a group of friends so you can enjoy as many dishes as you can. We also ordered dessert which made from the real sako tree and they have homemade cola. Definitely going back there again! Highly recommend for those who wish to escape the normal northern local food!

Food was delicious. We went on a Monday Lunch and didn't have to wait. Decent wine list. Had a Riesling to go with the spicy food. Good: Fried Egg, Stir-fried fish with Ginger, Stir-fried Squid with black ink, pomelo salad.
J J — Google review
Awful. I don’t understand the good reviews. Crab fried rice was served lukewarm. When we returned the dish, the server did not seem surprised at all. When asked, she said a big batch of fried rice is already prepared beforehand, instead of frying the rice fresh on demand. Charcoal grilled fish was tough, hard and dry. Wanted to return it but the server refused to cancel and said we had to pay nonetheless. Crab omelette was nothing special. It was thick and dry. Barely any crab pieces. I felt like I was just eating normal fried egg.

Aunt Aoy Kitchen is a humble restaurant in the Nimmanhaemin area of Chiang Mai, run by Khun Aoy who has extensive experience cooking in hotel kitchens. The venue offers a variety of Thai favorites such as tom yam, soft shell crab, and omelettes with stir-fried minced pork toast. Despite some mixed reviews about the service and ambiance, it's known for serving delicious traditional Thai food.
Very homey place. Drinks are self service. Food is quite fast, but maybe cuz we went nearly their closing time so not many tables left. The food we ordered were tasty. Stir fried soft-shell crab was exceptionally delicious. Really recommend. Apparently the place is famous among Korean tourists also.
Sonny — Google review
Although it's a Michelin-starred restaurant, the taste didn't really amaze me. The dishes are just more innovative. The soft-shell crab is the signature dish, very crispy, but it lacks the fresh flavor. The breaded pork?(don’t remember the name)is okay, but a little bit oily
VV Y — Google review
Very basic for the price that you are paying here! The Michelin Gourmand rating probably brought in too much attention to them. But the restaurant is made very much for expats and tourists and doesn't actually bring down the originality of the Thai flavour that one would expect while travelling. Even for the expats it's not an amazing place. I had the "Thai basil rice with shrimp" which was very average and the omelette with minced pork which was very oily.
Aditya A — Google review
Great food. Worth Michelin Gourmand title. Soft shell crab with garlic and chef Omelette are excellent. The seafood rice noodle salad is also good. Must try if you up are in Chiang Mai.

Too bad this used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Chiang Mai. After being away for a few months, I visited again today I ordered the chef omelette and the chicken with cashews. Everything was soaked in oil, the omelette was very oily and soggy, the pork crisps were also very soft and others were over burn. The chicken with cashew nut was also soaked in oil, cashew were not crunchy, and the chicken was also very oily. I remember it used to be crunchy on the outside and soft from the inside. I left without barely eating anything, and sadly no one asked me if anything was wrong. I’m writing this review hopefully they will notice the changes and bring back the amazing quality that I used to love.
Karim G — Google review
Simple food served with rice. The thing that stands out here is the quality. The chicken green pepper stir-fry was seasoned well and the bell peppers were cooked but still crunchy, tasting amazing. The curried pork on rice, equally good. Mildy spicy but big on yellow curry flavour. Great value for the quality of food.

The Food Trust CNX is a vibrant community space in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It offers a variety of experiences for visitors, from relaxing in the green courtyard of the Thailand Creative and Design Centre to enjoying delicious Italian cuisine at an on-site restaurant. The restaurant serves homemade cooking with a wide selection of pizza toppings, including Calzone which combines Thai and Italian styles. The open kitchen on the first floor allows guests to see their pizzas being made in a traditional oven.
Tonight was our second visit during our stay in Chiang Mai, and once again, it was excellent. The service from the staff is exceptional. Attentive but not intrusive. A good level of spoken English was appreciated as we British are notorious for only knowing one language. The quality of the ingredients enhances the overall dining experience. Prices are slightly higher than your average local Pad Thai, but good value for the quality of food in such a clean and spacious environment. There are a few tables downstairs where you can clearly see everything being prepared and cooked. More seating is provided upstairs, which means that even when busy, it doesn't feel crowded. If you find you ordered too much because it was so difficult to choose, no problem, you can take it away for later.
Lee M — Google review
The restaurant is located in a strange part of town and not easy to get to and parking is difficult. A bit of a "blink and you'll miss it situation" However once inside it's a bit of a "Tardus" moment as the interior is cavernous and full of ambience. Unfortunately, that's where the good vibes stop. The food is very average for the price, with very average portions and additional condiments such as salad. Mistakes were made on several occasions with the order by the staff. Food tasted good when it arrived. In summary, there's much better value in town with much better parking and choices. The building has the right ambience but has no soul with the average food and staff. Which is a pity as if they got that right, the place would be hustling.

This place is nice community for hangout with family or friends or by yourself. And Italian restaurant with home made cooking. Pizza lover might love it. There are varies of pizza's topping. I ordered Calzone which is feel like combine Thai & Italian style. Pizza are ordered to made with an oven in open kitchen on the 1st floor. There are all 2 floors in the restaurant. There is an open shop selling some organic products including handmade ceramics. The atmosphere is very nice. I recommend to comeback again. All decoration feeling they are ECO friendly as well. My Italian partner and I agree, this is the best Neapolitan style pizza in Chiang Mai! We’ve eaten it three times in the week since discovering the place 😍 good airy vibes, local sustainable sourcing, and nice service too
Emma B — Google review
Very sad as I was expecting amazing food after seeing the quite high prices and reviews. The Pork Milanese was an overcooked, dry, super thin piece of pork with 3 times thick layer of breadcrumb. You taste only breadcrumb. I refuse to eat as for 320 THB, you should get a nice piece of meat with a thin layer of breadcrumb. I got a new one. The breadcrumb layer was better, but the pork was so thin that there was no way to get any taste of the meat. Very sad. My friend talked me into a dessert and mentioned you can not go wrong with Tiramisu. Oh yes, you can. I had to learn. The Tiramisu was mainly a super dry cookie in some cream. I have no idea where all the 5 stars are coming from, but this was for me the first and also last time. I can not recommend this place to anybody, incl our guests.

Exceptional food and hospitality. High-quality produce, with a menu that emphasises their relationships with local organic farmers and artisan producers. You can even find pizza ranked no.1 in Thailand from 50 Top Pizza here! There are frequent collaborations with guest chefs, and we were lucky enough to visit during a fantastic Burmese cuisine pop-up by chef GooGoo. This is a brilliant space for the local food community.

Another false italian pizza, another wrong use of Napoli name. It is 1 pm when i am writing, 30 minutes ago i had the pizza that, arrived cold on the table. I asked for extra virgin oil, to the waiter, 3 minutes to have on my table, strange not having oil containers on table . About pizza it is a huge meal, where 70% is like bread with a small quantity of italian?? Peeled tomatoes sauce, the cheese isn t any fresh mozzarella or fiordilatte, it is a sort of processed cheese, really salted. As you can see from the FB photo, a raw pizza ready tobe in the oven, is full of grated cheese, maybe pecorino. On mine wasn t at all. By the way, i will not be back here, i am not talking about the pried price, it is the exoerience a failure. Better write outside the restaurat that is a thai pizza that want dress as a neapolitan o pizza napoletana. Thanks anyway

Restaurant
Khao Soi Lamduan Fa Ham is a long-standing eatery that has been serving up the iconic dish for over 75 years. While it shares similarities with Khao Soi Samer Jai, there are noticeable differences in the texture and flavor of the dish. The beef khao soi is particularly popular, featuring tender drumstick meat cooked to perfection. The curry is described as thick, creamy, and mildly spicy.
Just across the street of our fine hotel (with also a Michelin recommendation) we found this traditional Khao Soi restaurant. We were treated so nicely and with a minimum of English we got what was suggested: chicken Khao Soi with fish balls that were also excellent! It is also a shop, but we took a table and ate there. The ambiance is of a real popular Thai restaurant for the Thai themselves, so nothing too fancy or pretentious! We loved it and we recommend the Thai ice tea (indeed with ice, but everything went great).
Bob P — Google review
Finally have a chance to try Khao Soi in Chiang Mai. We were not disappointed. The soup base was full of flavor and i can't stop drinking it. The noodle was chewy and tasty. I end up having 2 bowls, one chicken and the other was fish. Price was cheap as. Must come for a visit.

😋 Khao soi at its very best! This place has been refining and serving authentic Chiang Mai khao soi for nearly a century 💯 😳! They won Michelin 2022, 2021, 2020. 👏 Must try it. The pork satay is good too. Freshly made and hot. I had 2 bowls of khao Soi - it’s that good. 😁 Parking is bit of a challenge, but you can find some street parking.
Pratyush P — Google review
Good food and most importantly: they do not add sugar to the Khao Soi (unlike many other restaurants do today)! However, the service could be improved, and the place lacks distinctive value.
Gonzague J — Google review
Recommended by a local, this khao soi restaurant has been a neighborhood fixture for 70-80 years. This place is a great find with nice khao soi at an excellent price. The kitchen was very fast and service was excellent. We had the khao soi with chicken -- the broth was light, not too spicy (chili paste is available along with the usual Khao soi trimmings). My son had chicken satay and chicken wings. This restaurant really reminds me of old Thai neighborhood restaurants, it's great to see they're still around in the city. Highly recommend trying khao soi if visiting Chiang Mai - this is a solid place to visit.

Lung Khajohn Wat Ket is a popular spot in the Wat Ket neighborhood, known for its delicious khao kriab pak moh (steamed rice skin dumplings). The small shop, run by Uncle Khajohn, is located opposite the Wat Ket temple and has been a favorite among locals for quite some time. One of their standout dishes is the steamed rice skin dessert filled with peanuts and possibly radish, served with coconut milk and chili on the side.
Yes! Yes! Yes, yes yes! This is definitely worth stopping at. They offer some thing we had never had or seen anywhere else. It describes it as dessert, but it was subtle enough to be enjoyed for breakfast. We of course tried both types. And we thought they were equally as good. And the cool thing is you walk up and they are making them right in front of you and preparing bags. And it was ridiculously cheap. You must go here if you’re in the area! It is worth trying for sure.

I like sakoo sai moo or pork rice dumpling. The flour is very soft, the stuffing is a bit salty. You can eat with vegetables and chilies. It’s so compatible. Kanom Buang Yuan or Vietnamese crepe is unique ,it’s like salad with tofu ,dry coconut ,yellow crepe and sweet dressing. It serves in the bowl if you want to eat immediately. There are only 2 tables inside. You can visit Wat Ket Karam temple ,it’s very beautiful and peaceful temple, you just cross the road from the shop to go to the temple.

Super busy and seems many locals will drive by to purchase. When I came just before noon and the Khao Kriab Pak Moh was already sold out. So opted for the Sakoo Sei Moo. The filling is slightly sweet but savory and the chewiness of wrap giving it a QQ texture. Quite an interesting combination worth trying. They had 2 tables which you could eat there if you want.

Stumbled across this place and saw that it’s “Michelin recommended” so I bought one box despite not really knowing what that is. It’s like a sweet flat dumpling of glutinous texture. With the deep fried garlic and chilli it’s very tasty. Personally I don’t think the coconut milk adds much as it’s sweet enough on its own but everyone has different preference.
