Chica Pitanga is a unique and pleasant restaurant with an original decor featuring a stylized artificial pitanga tree at its center. Unlike the typical pay-per-kilo model, this buffet offers incredibly tasty and creative daily dishes. Located in Boa Viagem, it's frequented by both locals and tourists due to its proximity to the beach. The restaurant provides a wide variety of salads, meats, and fish served by attentive and friendly staff.
Great experience. The tourist experience menu is something you definitely must try. Dishes are completely amazing and flavors combination are excellent

Absolutely fantastic experience. Great food, service and drinks. Highly recommend.👌

We had the Pescada com Crosta de Amendoim with risotto and it was perfectly cooked. The risotto has light fruit in it, which gave an unexpected wonderful flavor. Highly recommend.
Jim F — Google review
I came to this restaurant in the evening thinking it was going to be a buffet, but I found out that was only during the day. In the evening, it's actually a very romantic place to be, great atmosphere, great food and great service.
Brad S — Google review
Excellent place with great food, service and atmosphere. Only thing is to try to not be annoyed by dining influencers documenting every bite of food.
Audun H — Google review
Best food around! It’s not a buffet but you can put anything that you want in the plate and you pay per weight. There’s a lot of options from sea food to chicken and nice fruits. One of the best places close to the beach!

Seafood restaurant
Bargaço Recife is a renowned restaurant in the city, offering a diverse menu of regional cuisine with a focus on seafood. With over 50 years of history, it has established itself as one of the best destinations to savor delicious Bahian cuisine. The restaurant is known for its creative dishes such as stuffed fish with cassava stuffing and selected shrimp, as well as crab claws served during happy hours.
Great Brazilian seafood experience. Highly recommend prawn and acaraje fritters as starters, the chef's recommended whole fish with farofa is a fantastic gastronomic experience.
Daniel A — Google review
Barraco is known as the best place to have seafood in Recife. Very traditional place with great service. I expected more. What I loved: You have complimentary valley parking which is very convenient due to the challenges with parking. The environment: a little bit packaged, but overall comfortable and well decorated. There is a piano playing in the background that makes you feel relaxed. They do charge a small fee called couvert, though. Food: my biggest disappointment. The vatapá for the acarajé was missing salt. The shrimp was cold. Th flavour increased when we added table salt to it, so it’s just a matter of fixing things up in the kitchen. The moqueca de Lagosta was missing something. It’s clearly not made of fresh lagosta. The consistency of its meat was harder than it should be. Lacking salt again. We had to add spices, salt and olive oil to enjoy our food. However, after doing that the flavour did came up. Overall 3.8 starts due to the excellent service provided.
Mariana S — Google review
Excellent place to eat awesome dishes from Bahia. We ate a fried ball of cod, shrimps, shrimp bean balls, and shrimp muqueca. Super delicious dishes. Definitely worth it.
Diego H — Google review
Place was clean and our waiter was really helpful in his own language. Nobody speaks English so be prepared with google translate or something. Sadly no lobster but the 🦐 was delicious 😋 I definitely want to visit again for some lobster. If I’m not mistaken there is a private parking at the back.
Dennis K — Google review
The place surprised me with the level of food, it is very good. I was not expecting to eat so delicious at a place such crowded and big. I recommend the whole fish with farofa so great flavor.
Irfan C — Google review
OMG! The Cod dish I had was the best ever. Service was fine. Had a upscale family ambiance. I would visit again hands down.
Hector V — Google review
The best of Recife. Typical food
Leo S — Google review
We were handed menus by the (I think) maître d’. He stood by the table the whole time we were reading them. Bit uncomfortable. I noticed he did the same with diners who arrived after us. Maybe that’s the norm there? Fish ball croquettes to start were a bit greasy. Moqueca was very good. Good wine selection. Service very attentive, almost too much so. Nice looking restaurant. Lighting a little too bright.

Restaurante Leite is a classy 1800s venue that exudes old-school elegance with its classic decor, wooden pieces, and large windows adorned with cream-colored curtains. Established in 1882, it prides itself as the oldest operating restaurant in Brazil. The menu reflects tradition and sophistication, offering European fare such as meat, seafood, and pasta dishes. The ambiance is enhanced by a pianist playing on a baby grand piano.
What can I say about restaurant Leite: history and tradition. This is the oldest restaurant in Brazil. Food is amazing, try the carne de sol, and for desert a cartola. The service is great too, and staff is really friendly. I highly recommend it.
Murillo P — Google review
Amazing food in a very traditional Portuguese restaurant. Service was outstanding. We were there for lunch on a Monday so it wasn't busy and no reservations were required. Their cartola is the best one I ever had.

This is the oldest restaurant in Brazil! And if you are in Recife you must visit it. The food was very tasty. The atmosphere was great. Our waiter Diego Costa was also amazing! Best service ever. He totally levelled up our visit to the restaurant. Highly recommended!
Vas X — Google review
Without a doubt, our experience at Leite was nothing short of extraordinary! The restaurant's exquisite decor and laid-back ambiance perfectly complemented the top-notch service we received. The front-of-house staff exuded both knowledge and friendliness, adding to the overall enjoyment of our visit. Now, let's talk about the food – it was simply out of this world! Each dish was presented with immaculate attention to detail, but more importantly, the flavors were absolutely divine. We couldn't find a single fault with this restaurant; it exceeded all expectations. If you're looking for a remarkable dining experience, I highly recommend it, especially for special occasions.

Entre Amigos o Bode is a restaurant and bar located in the heart of Boa Viagem, offering a modern and cozy atmosphere with amenities such as a kids' area. They serve a variety of dishes including bode (goat) and sol (northeastern sun dried) meats prepared in different ways, along with other delicious options like roast beef and typical northeastern Brazilian cuisine. The restaurant started as a newsstand and has expanded to multiple locations across the capital city.
The Oyster Gratin is my new favorite thing and it tasted great with melted cheese. I also had the goat bombom - both delicious!
Stephanie D — Google review
We came across the restaurant by chance. In the evening just for drinks and again the following day at lunchtime. The cocktail menu is varied and everyone will find the right drink here. We ordered several drinks and were very satisfied. Lunch was also really tasty and fresh. The Sushi Rodizio is highly recommended :) Service is friendly & courteous.
Ina R — Google review
Honestly my experience in this restaurant was pretty bad. First of all, it was so crowded that i was impossible to even talk and hear the person that was next to you. I came back home with headache. Second the service was literally one of the worst i have ever experienced. The waiters were not too many in comparison with the amount of people and this resulted with a long waiting time, even to order food. Regarding the ordering, what to say, horrible. They have a menu but apparently they don’t use it. I tried 4 times to order a specific dish but multiple waiters were like: yes don’t worry i will bring you some of that, a little bit of that and this. What were they trying to accomplish? Maybe to steal your money since this restaurant is so expensive and they try to bring random sushi plates instead of those ones that you ordered… Only after i insisted 4 times they brought just ONE out of the five dishes that i wanted. We ended up having a big plate, that we did not order, with sushi that was all the same! And on top of that we paid more than 200R$ each! This is beyond disappointing and unfair, thinking that they are the smart ones and that they can bring you whatever they want just to make you full and pay. If you want to save your money and your mental health, don’t come to this restaurant. (i’m giving one start because it is not possible to give ZERO)

Best food I've had in Brazil so far, lots of options, local dishes and more normal things for less adventurous type, good service and great Caipirinha,
Ale H — Google review
Service and food was excellent. They have indoor and al fresco seating. 1st time I tried to dip sashimi in teriyaki sauce and the grilled cheese
Ian F — Google review
Everything was delicious, from Caldinho de Fejoa, to the Carne de Sol, which was perfectly cooked and tender, to the sides, Peach Ice Tea and Straberry and Chocolate Sunday Dessert, everything was amazing. Service was very fast also. Deserves 5 stars.
Laurent G — Google review
This is one the best place to eat bode (goat) and sol (northeastern sun dried) meats. They really know how to cook it, on several ways. Try their roast beef of carne de sol as well as their goat meat bbq. Staff is great, Ronaldo Nascimento serviced us and he made a great job. A must go place, where you can eat very well done typical food from the marvelous northeast of Brazil, the best region of this country.
Fábio T — Google review
I spent almost two hours to be served a juice and one very simple dish, and to pay a bill. It took them so long that I had to cancel my desert and coffee. Other tables with more people who came after me were served much faster, which left me even more disappointed with the restaurant’s service. The food was descent, but nothing more than that. I had a grilled fish, but i guess their meat options could be better. In general, if you are not passing by or live near by, I think there are much better options to eat around with much better service.

This restaurant is incredible!!! Food is so tasty and very traditional. Impressive because it's a hidden gem at the mall. The camarao matutu is mind blowingly delicious! The rice is just the best rice I've had in my life I think. It has so many ingredients: peppers, carne du sol, queijo Coelho, cilantro, coconut and many more. Bursting with flavor! The moqueca is traditional and served in a clay pot. Just so much flavour in every dish and it's so worth it. Moqueca is food specific from this region and is a must try. Very impressed and will definitely be back many times.
Lola A — Google review
Food decent compare to other restaurants in Recife. All meat section straight well done, like a joke))) Shrimp very good. Deep dried dishes have slightly bitter aftertaste. Even I complain but so far my top 5 restaurants here. The online menu for English speaking terrible system, when you pick food waiters do not know English so even when I know what I want after I need to find in local menu and point so they can take correct order, other wise they bring totally different.
Andrew P — Google review
The best in taste, big portions, enough for two or three adults. Love this place.
CHUAIB B — Google review
I ordered my meal online and as previously they left my order at the door without informing me, I wrote to the restaurant to inform me once the meal arrives and not to leave it at the door. They confirmed that they will do that. After waiting almost two hours, I found out that the delivery man left it at the door. Meanwhile, I was talking with the restaurant like "where it is" and they were like "ah we will check". They didn't call me to tell "Sorry, the delivery man left at the door" No! I had to find out by myself! Of course, it was almost like plastic! The person who took care of the online communication was like "sorry for misunderstanding" What kind of misunderstanding is that? Are you involving me as well in that mistake? Anyway never again! This was the second time they did the same mistake even though I warned them. I always dine there with a big group of friends and now we will look for another one! I am super annoyed!

I dined by myself and felt overlooked by the staff. The hostess almost skipped before another patron told her I was ahead of them. I went on a Sunday and they were busy but 3 tables of families who had sat down around around the same time I had got their food, ate and paid before I got my food. For some reason it took an hour and a half to receive my one individual meal, which is ridiculous especially being that all I ordered was fish. Also, for the price the portion size was underwhelming. When I asked the waiter how much longer for my food he was dismissive and laughed. I wouldn't go here as a solo diner. A lot of people recommend this restaurant and I was disappointed in my experience.

Outback Steakhouse is a lively Australian-themed restaurant chain that offers a variety of hearty steakhouse dishes, including steaks and seafood. The ambiance is reminiscent of the Australian Outback, creating a unique dining experience. Customers have praised the good service and enjoyed the selection of drinks. While some menu items may not always be available, overall, it's a great place to enjoy a meal and drinks with friends or family.

Great place for happy hour draft beer and cocktails. Nice ambient music. Very good service. Good for watching matches, too. However, not the ideal restaurant for healthy meals.
Albertino F — Google review
OK, I have to admit, I’ve never eaten in an Outback. But now I can't say that any more. We stopped in so I could try their Bloomin’ Onion. We sat at the bar, which I think was our first mistake—the service is not that good at the bar at this location. Even though I’ve never been to an Outback, I think the decoration is rather Spartan here (compared to the photos I’ve seen of their other locations). This one is located inside the RioMar Shopping Mall, which is a very nice mall. So, how was the Bloomin’ Onion, you ask? Greasy…very greasy. The good thing was that we visited at Happy Hour (sorry, “Billabong Hour”), so drinks were half-price. I might try their steak or a burger another time, but this visit was underwhelming.
Edward D — Google review
I love outback, seriously. But this one gave me worst experience ever. I waited around 20 min to get a table (that's normal, was a Saturday night), they gave me a dirty table and I had to wait extra 10 min just to the waiter give me the menu, then more waiting to order and it took way too long to arrive. Disorganized, completely out of Outback's standards.
Eduardo S — Google review
I have already tried a lot of foods from Outback and I regret nothing. The meats are delicious as well as the mini hamburgers. Try the strawberry and orange juice it's a pleaseant combination. Not five stars because sometimes you have to wait a lot to get inside.
Bruno S — Google review
Excellent food. But I find it's an expensive restaurant. Don't order steak. They don't serve it the way it should. Junior ribs, though, is a great dish.

Peruvian restaurant
Chiwake is a Peruvian restaurant located in the Parnamirim neighborhood of Recife. Despite being new to the list of the 100 Best Restaurants, Chiwake has been a part of Recife for over a decade. Since its opening in 2007, this restaurant, led by chef Biba Fernandes, has been serving traditional and contemporary Peruvian dishes as well as Nikkei cuisine – a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavors.
This is a Peruvian restaurant in Recife—I’ve wanted to come here for a while, and I finally managed to get it in my schedule. I’m so sorry I didn’t come sooner! The food, ambience and service are all excellent. The food is unique in the area (I don’t know of another Peruvian restaurant or anything even similar to this in the entire region). The executive chef is Biba Fernandes, who is also at the helm of Chicama (also in Recife). The restaurant is housed in what was a beautiful old mansion in a lovely neighborhood in Recife. The food is better described as Peruvian with a Brazilian accent. Our waiter for the two times we ate here (coincidentally and happily) was Sandro, who knows and explains the food and drinks available with an ease and comfort that only one of the best waiters can do. Not only this, but he is well-informed about many restaurants and hotels in the area as well as other restaurants that belong to the Association of Restaurants of Boa Lembrança. I really can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. I will definitely be back to enjoy another dining experience here and I highly recommend that if you’re anywhere nearby, that you should too.

(Translated by Google) I've been to this restaurant for the third time and I don't regret it. I'm a collector of the "Prato da Boa Lembrança" (Good Memory Plate) and I can say that today's was the best of all!! A dish based on shrimp, baby squid and mussels with a creamy wine sauce, chili peppers and herbs with regatanio. Delicious!!! Worth every bite. The restaurant was somewhat empty for a Wednesday, so I was served quickly. A glass of white wine at a fair price. A more than pleasant surprise.

Tay San - Boa Viagem has carved out a niche for itself as a beloved destination for those craving authentic Chinese and Japanese cuisine in Brazil. This charming eatery boasts a clean and comfortable atmosphere, making it an inviting spot to enjoy a meal. The buffet is impressively varied, featuring beautifully presented dishes that are easy to navigate. Diners rave about the delicious offerings, particularly the sunomono and tuna, which showcase the restaurant's commitment to quality.
The food was great! I would highly recommend this restaurant! There's a wide selection of food and the service id's great.

Nice place! Very clean and comfortable. Very varied buffet (it's also "easy to navigate") with beautiful presentation. I loved the food, specially the sunomono dish and the tuna! They have well trained and very attentive staff. Down point to their delay on assisting us when we sat at a table located at the back corner of the restaurant (we ended up switching tables).
Graziella B — Google review
This is buffet style sushi with some cooked dishes. I wanted to try it and see how it compares to the buffet style sushi I have eaten in the U.S. and how it compared to the buffet style sushi in the mall in Joao Pessoa. First, I agree with the other poster about the cheese. There is a surprising amount of cheese in this sushi. Many of the rolls include cheese, which might be a Brazilian thing, since the place in the Joao Pessoa mall also had cheese in their rolls, though not as many as Tay San. Compared to the U.S., where you might have one or two variation on Philadelphia Roll but no cheese in the rest, I felt that the amount of selections with cheese was too much. Second, this is buffet sushi, and is not as good as sushi prepared to order. It is...OK - maybe a little lower in quality than the sushi restaurants I know of in the U.S. The cooked items are OK as well - they tend to be on the oily (or cheesy) side. The price is reasonable, and if you want sushi quickly and at a reasonable price and are willing to settle for buffet quality sushi, this is not a bad place.

The burger bread is normal to bad tasting, and worse yet you pay a price way to pricey for the amount and quality you get. The ambiance is cool and trendy place. But only go here if you are ready to cash out some high prices. Or risk leaving hungry like me because the amount you get with one burger you will not be full. Expect to spend 50-60 per person.

It's refreshing to enjoy such delicious ice cream with the cool breeze. The ice cream is priced similarly to other ice cream shops, though a bit cheaper. They also offer combo options. The unique flavors of typical fruits, such as cajamanga, soursop, cupuaçu, and others, are very good! I recommend it to anyone visiting Recife's Marco Zero; it's located less than 100 meters away.
