Pula Arena, a massive Roman amphitheater in Pula, is a major tourist attraction. Built in 27 BC, it boasts well-preserved four side towers and three architectural orders. Visitors can explore the viewing seats where gladiator fights were once watched and then venture into the underground passages used by gladiators. The arena could accommodate up to 20,000 spectators and is one of the six largest and best-preserved Roman arenas still in existence today.
Absolutely breathtaking! The Pula Amphitheatre is one of the most impressive Roman monuments I've ever visited. It's incredibly well-preserved and offers a fascinating glimpse into ancient history. Walking through the arena and underground passages feels like stepping back in time. The views from the top are stunning, especially at sunset. Highly recommended for history lovers and anyone visiting Istria.

Gorgeous arena. A must see when in Pula. Beautiful weather helped to get some beautiful shots. More than 2000 years old and one of six biggest amphitheatres still standing.. breathtakingly stunning.
Matthias — Google review
We visited Pula Arena and oh my God, it was incredible. It’s absolutely worth paying to go inside. Once you’re in, you can walk around everywhere and really feel like you’ve stepped back into ancient Roman times. The Arena is in very good condition - well preserved and majestic. It’s a gorgeous spot for photos, history lessons, or just soaking up atmosphere. What impressed me most is how immersive it feels - you can almost imagine the crowds, the spectacles, the echoes of the past. Also, I discovered that the Arena is sometimes used for theatre and opera performances, which must be fantastic in such a setting. The Pula Arena (also called the Pula Amphitheatre) was built between 27 BC and AD 68 and is one of the world’s six largest surviving Roman arenas. It’s especially remarkable because it’s the only Roman amphitheatre with all four side towers fully preserved.
Nataliia S — Google review
Pula is a small town, so seeing such a grandiose structure from the era of the great Roman Empire here is both unexpected and impressive. There are far fewer visitors than at the Roman Colosseum, so everyone has the unique opportunity to find a secluded spot, stand, and reflect on eternity, on how times, customs, and games have changed over the centuries. Don't miss the small but fascinating museum located in the arena's underground chambers—it's dedicated primarily to olive oil production in Istria.
Game G — Google review
What a site to see! Amazing roman arena built between 27–68 AD. Sixth largest in the world. There is a fee to enter and you are free to walk around once inside. There are QR codes that provide a self guided tour using your phone. Bring ear buds or headphones for the audio. This is one of the best preserved amphitheaters in the world. This is a must see.
Chris Y — Google review
The best experience is to enjoy a concert inside the arena. You'll breath the seaside wind and the ancient history of the place in a unique ambient. Bryan Adams was delightful to play there and the most amazing thing is that you can freely move inside, stay in the crowd and the acoustic is unbelievable. Just remember to respect the place as a historical monument so don't walk the walls and don't throw garbage around.
Cami L — Google review
This was a really amazing experience. So incredible to be inside such a huge part of history. The price is very affordable. This was our favorite thing that we did in Pula. I would highly recommend stopping by even if just for this experience!
Jessica F — Google review
It was easy to purchase tickets. We were able to just stroll around and look at the view of the amphitheatre. The souvenir shop also had lots of unique items that I haven’t seen at other places. Overall, it was a lovely experience for a Sunday afternoon.

The Temple of Augustus, located in the heart of Pula's historic center, is a remarkable ancient Roman temple dedicated to Emperor Augustus. Originally built between 27 BC and AD 14, it stands as a prime example of Roman architecture with its perfectly regular square stone blocks. The temple has endured various transformations over the centuries, serving as a church in Byzantine times and later as a granary before becoming a museum of stone monuments.
Loved the temple. Many interesting and beautiful pieces. Good explanation of tenples history. Also, it is a very welcoming stuff that could tell more if you are interested.
Beluga — Google review
looks great from the outside, but it closes much sooner than stated here or at tourist information (22h).. there's also no sign with opening hours next to the entrance.. Tourist information said its managed by museum people, who are somewhat not professional. they should get some informed students.. if you want to see it inside, come during the day.
Rob L — Google review
For a couple euro you get to turn back the clock to the time of Christ and envision what the Roman Empire resembled from an architectural perspective and from the statues of that period. Nice little stop in old town Pula.
William L — Google review
A remarkably well-preserved gem of Roman architecture, built during the reign of Emperor Augustus, it stands as a graceful reminder of the city’s ancient past. Its elegant columns, finely carved details, and harmonious proportions make it one of the best surviving examples of a Roman temple outside Italy. Inside, the temple houses a small collection of Roman sculptures.
Chingón898 — Google review
The Temple of Augustus is a remarkable ancient structure located in a lively public square. Its impressive Roman architecture and deep historical significance make it a must-see when visiting Pula, especially for history lovers.
Horia S — Google review
🌟🌟🌟 The Temple of Augustus is a beautiful slice of Roman history nestled right in the heart of Pula’s old town. It’s incredibly well-preserved considering it dates back to the 1st century BC, and the architecture is truly impressive—especially the Corinthian columns that still stand tall and proud. You can really feel the weight of history here. The temple sits in a charming square that’s perfect for photos and people-watching, with cafés nearby where you can relax and take in the view. Inside, there’s a small but interesting museum with Roman artifacts and sculptures, which adds context to the site’s significance. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the interior exhibition is quite limited, and the entry fee, while modest, might feel a bit steep for how quickly you can get through it. Still, it’s absolutely worth a visit if you’re in Pula—especially for history lovers or anyone interested in ancient architecture. A peaceful, atmospheric stop that offers a glimpse into the grandeur of Roman civilization. Don’t miss it if you’re exploring Istria!
Ray Y — Google review
Absolutely worth seeing if you are at all interested in the history of the area or architecture. A sight to behold.
Maria G — Google review
The sanctuary is dedicated to the goddness Roma and the emperor Augustus. It has a circular structure. It was once used as a sanctuary, later as a grain storage facility, and today here is a small exhibition of ancient stone and bronze sculptures. It is very beautiful.

Aquarium Pula is a popular tourist attraction located within the historic Austro-Hungarian Fort Verudela in Croatia. The aquarium features 35 pools showcasing 211 species of marine and freshwater animals from around the world, including Adriatic and Croatian species, Mediterranean and tropical habitats, as well as cold freshwater environments. Visitors can marvel at a variety of creatures such as sharks, seahorses, jellyfish, red piranhas, river stingrays, and many more.
We visited this place during a hot, sunny day as the opposite of most people. There are a lot of cars trying to find a parking space, but there was always some place to park. There was a line at the entrance, it took about 5 minutes for us to get in. We bought the tickets online expecting a faster lane or something, but there was just one lady at the register. Straight at the beginning there are a lot of people, so it may be hard to see up close, luckily the crowd disperses further up so you can get a more comfortable experience. Overall it was stunning! And well worth the money. We spent there around 3 hours and even saw some feeding. The layout makes sense and the aquariums look great. You will get a nice view. Many of the specimens also have a dedicated panel with more information. We strongly recommend you visit this place.
Marek R — Google review
Everything was really nice! Lots of interesting species and great explanations. We were surprised that the aquarium consists of two buildings – you can easily spend half a day there. What impressed us the most were the butterflies, just wow! 🦋 Highly recommend it for both adults and children – a very exciting experience.
Daryna P — Google review
We had such a great time here. It was late September and really not too many people. The building (old fortress) ia very impressive and the perfect location for this beautiful Aquarium. It consists of two buildings, old tunnels and areas outside. Our daughter loved it and we did too. 100% recommend
Stefan H — Google review
This was a wonderful surprise! I didn’t expect it to be so big and to have so many different species. My 9-month-old loved it and was fascinated by everything. I highly recommend bringing your family here and buying tickets online, as the regular line can get quite long, while the online ticket line was empty.
Valentina L — Google review
Aquarium Pula offers one of the most memorable and unique aquarium experiences I have ever been to with my family—spanning two historic fort buildings, it’s far more than just an Aquarium! Not only do you get Mediterranean and Tropical aquatic exhibits, but you’ll find a “zoo” aspect, with wildlife outside the water, a turtle sanctuary tied to active conservation, and a unique play on history through its fort setting, complete with tunnels, multiple levels, and panoramic rooftop views. Highlights include: - Loved the shark hall and meeting their lively octopuses. - Plenty of kid-friendly features: a play area, multilingual info at every exhibit, frequent learning moments, and convenient rest areas for snacks and bathroom breaks. - The whole experience feels packed with excitement and wonder, easily justifying the slightly higher entry prices, thanks to its unique setting and vast variety. - The rooftop viewing platform offers some truly special panoramas of Verudela's coastline and neighbouring towns. - For a smoother experience, start early and consider going on a weekday; weekends, especially in August, can get crowded due to longer queues. If you buy tickets online, although it's not any cheaper - you can join a shorter queue (on the left side). Aquarium Pula stands out not just for its exhibits, but for its conservation work, historical character, and educational focus—the perfect blend of entertainment, learning, and local culture. I would 100% recommend you visit when you are next in Pula, Croatia. Perfect for a rainy day too!
Janak R — Google review
Very nice aquarium, all well maintained, it’s not really huge but very interesting especially if weather outside is not best. People are friendly, and all details about fishes as well visible. Don’t forget to go to the roof - very nice view there!
Ales K — Google review
To avoid queues during the summer, I highly recommend buying tickets online. The aquarium has a great variety of fish, including a large Mediterranean section and a smaller exotic one. There's also a tiny butterfly area. While the diversity of species is excellent, the spaces are quite small and get very crowded. In some rooms, it's hard to breathe because of the sheer number of people.
Giada F — Google review
I had a very enjoyable experience here. There are 2 different buildings to explore . Very unique as the buildings are old forts . Everything was clean and organized. There is a nice roof observation area overlooking the water . Perfect if you make it up there around sunset . There was also a café that served pretty delicious burgers. Visited on a weekday night so it was not too crowded.

Brijuni National Park is a picturesque string of islands with rich archaeological and cultural sites. Visitors can take a boat from the harbor in Fazana to Veli Brijun, the largest island in the archipelago. Guided tours offer insights into the natural beauty of the islands, including ancient olive trees, a Mediterranean garden, and a safari park. The park also features historical attractions such as a Roman country residence dating back to the 1st century A.D.
Fabulous. In my opinion the real gem of Croatian tourism. We were there last week having visited quite some years ago. It was as beautiful as ever. A ton of things to see and do. The island is large enough that you can find your own space, it never feels too crowded. We hired an electric buggy, 300 euros for the whole day, fits 4 adults. Get the 9 am ferry across, bring a picnic, rent a buggy and enjoy visiting Roman ruins, dinosaur footprints, the safari park and a ton of other fascinating things. The museum is a must visit attraction and there’s no extra charge to visit it. You can also eat at the hotel, on the day we were there they offered great food and generous portions for 35 euros per person (lunch). Highly recommended. Hope to return soon.
Stephen L — Google review
Nice place. We bought a 4 hour tour by NP with a guide, boat and train, but if you really want to feel this island, it requires day or two at least. Zoo doesn't have a lot of animal, but walking or swimming are always necessary. Yugoslavian spirit is omnipresent. Hotel (Neptun if memory serves me) is not expensive comparing with coastal hotels. Playing golf is guaranteed fun. Sedačni pozdravi za Ivana, vodiča. Svako dobro
Alexander S — Google review
Very nice island! We've been there for a couple of houra and toured the island by bike. There was literally nobody around so we had all the attractions for us. Very recommended!
Timur C — Google review
The trip to Brijuni Island left a special mark on me and my boyfriend. We didn’t expect it to be that beautiful. Even though we spent the whole day there, we could have easily stayed longer. Everything is super accessible by bike — the stunning ancient ruins, botanical garden, mini zoo, dinosaur steps and safari. At one point, while we were sitting on the grass, a group of deer suddenly ran by! It truly felt like we were in heaven for a day — definitely worth a visit!
Lila M — Google review
Brijuni was fun. We decided to walk the island as bike rentals were a little pricey but it was a pretty brutal walk on a hot day (88°F/31°C). If you want to see everything and have younger kids or trouble walking distances rent a golf cart or bikes. We got fairly sunburnt too as a lot of the time there was no shade. But, the safari park was neat, and the Byzantine castrum and St Mary's basilica were really cool. We walked around the upper and main parts of the island and skipped the southern peninsula and it took about 5-6 hours.
Mallory B — Google review
Very interesting and amazing place. The water us Cristal clear... the trees simply incredible and the peace unforgettable. We spent the most the day and absolutely loved it. There are couple of beaches to relax and take a swim. Few bars and restoraurants and plenty to see and enjoy
Vera D — Google review
Interesting tour, the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The little train tour was good but it would be nice to stop long enough to go and see the dinosaur foot prints. Its a half an hour walk back there and as it is 34 degrees we were too hot to do that or rent a bike. The golf carts would be handy but we felt a bit pricey for 50 euro and hour. The safari park is a small collection of animals that are descendants from animals gifted to Tito and there is a museum of the animals that passed that have been taxidermied. There are alot of animals in there which is a bit sad as so many wouldn't have thrived on that island, a lot of them are very small for their species. The elephant on the island is apparently happy there but I'd say at least give her a bigger enclosure so she can roam more freely. It seems very small and she's alone . The Roman ruins are very interesting, the boat house museum is great and the beaches are beautiful . Crystal clear and warm. And look out for the deer that roam freely around the island. Over all we had a great day, not exactly what we were expecting but fun non the less. Definitely worth a visit.
Frankie C — Google review

Zerostrasse, also known as the underground tunnels, is a historic network of subterranean passages and galleries located in Pula. Initially constructed as war shelters in the early 1900s, these tunnels were designed to protect the city's inhabitants during times of conflict. Extending approximately 400 meters beneath the city center, this intricate system was capable of accommodating thousands of people.
Really nice to visit, plus the history is interesting. Ticket can be combined with a visit to the castle (15€ for 2 adults en 2 children), I recommend it.
Eric S — Google review
This is a series of tunnels under the old city of Pula. The vast majority of any displays were dedicated to the historical tram network that no longer exists. You can go through it all in under an hour. You can enter through Carrarina street or through the Citadel elevator. The area is cool and wet, has plenty of signs, but otherwise other than historical aspect isn't too interesting.
Mat B — Google review
Tunnels underneath the citadel with access to the citadel included in the price if you work your way up. I did this in reverse and made my way down through the tunnels. Blissfully cool after the heat of the exterior. Fascinated by the tunnels and side rooms. Would have liked to see more information provided on their wartime use, and not just learn about the trams. Found a lovely piece of art painted onto a wall in one of the side rooms, left there by a previous resident who had tried to bring a little of the outside indoors perhaps? A little forgotten masterpiece just waiting to be discovered. Just kind of stumbled across it as I explored, but maybe should have been signposted with a bit of context provided. The tunnels exit at locations in the old town. As a tourist myself this left me almost instantly in the shopping area at the end of my visit. I am sure not the original builders intention, but very welcome for someone like myself trying to get the most out of their day.
Mark D — Google review
Fascinating underground tunnels. Zerostrasse is a network of WWI-era tunnels beneath Pula, originally built as shelters. It’s a cool and quiet escape from the summer heat, with interesting historical displays along the way. Not a long visit, but definitely worth it if you're curious about the city's wartime past.
Tortoise — Google review
The underground world of Pula, intertwited with numerous tunnels. The tunnels were built during World War I so that people could escape into them in the event of air raids. You can find quite a few exhibitions here and you can take elevator up to Pula Kaštel. It is very nice and interesting to walk through all tunnels. It will take around one hour to discover all.
Diana M — Google review
A must go when visiting Pula, zerostrasse is a system of tunnels that have a great history and are really worth visiting, especially in summer days, as the temperature is at a chilling 15 degrees.

This museum serves as a treasure trove of national and universal heritage, featuring an extensive array of collections that span from the Middle Ages to modern times. Visitors can explore various departments dedicated to the history of Pula, medieval Istrian history, and contemporary developments in the region.
Interesting experience, nice people, well organized.

Pretty great museum if you like history and museums, there's a few rooms on the main level of the citadel. Otherwise, I'd say it's nothing special and the other levels and underground of the citadel are more fascinating.
Mat B — Google review
I appreciated the outstanding view but I think they should give you an audio guide as the museum ticket has a price but then looking inside you are just on your own hopping to understand correctly the long readings on the rooms.
Karen C — Google review
Learning something new is amazing. Those tunnels were built long time ago even before my grandpa's time. Just to see that things are not always what seems to be, gives you time to reflect and appreciate what you have now. History is teaching us a good lesson let's don't make the same mistake again. If visit Pula this location gives you a 360 view over the city. The Colosseum is on the East side of the fort.

One tour includes a fantastic food experience with breathtaking views and a refreshing sea breeze, accompanied by an amazing tour guide who brings the city and its landmarks to life. Another excursion takes visitors on a journey past national park islands in hopes of spotting dolphins, offering unlimited drinks and a main course. While the food may not be gourmet, the opportunity to see dolphins in their natural habitat is truly remarkable.
Lucia and Dominic were the best guides! They were knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. It was truly a pleasure to be able to hear the local side of Croatia from them as well as the natural history of the archipelago. I highly recommend this tour as a part of your Pula trip! It was a great use of my time and was extremely budget friendly for everything that was provided. The food and drinks were top notch and the staff were even better! And we saw dolphins while still being in the early summer season which was a lovely treat!! Book this tour if you’re solo traveling, a couple, or a family, it’s great for everyone!

Me and my family liked this trip a lot! The staff was very nice with everyone despite everything that might have happened. We saw a few dolphins but not too many, as they explained to us, they are animals, we can’t call for them! The sunset… incredible!! For dinner we had the grilled fish and the grilled chicken (they also offer grilled vegetables and every plate comes with cabbage salad and bread). The food was really nicely cooked and it was delicious. As for the beverages it was nice to enjoy the free-refills that they offer. Love love and love. Would come again 😍

It was closed when we wanted to visit it but we could walk around it and see most of it. Obviously it is better to get a ticket and get in and see/learn more about the site. It seems to be quite well preserved and big. There's a big parking lot nearby that you can use.
Catalin P — Google review
Staying in Pula for a week, my first visit to the citadel was an evening walk around the exterior. A steep walk up, with some uneven steps involved but worth it for the excellent views out across the town and the Harbour. This also gave good views of the smaller Roman theater (access was otherwise limited to this for some show preparations during my stay) Return visit to the interior later in the week was equally fascinating and filled in a lot of historical detail. Not just of the citadel but of the area surrounding it. Make sure you go up the central observation tower to enjoy one of the highest vantage points over the town. And for those seeking refuge from the summer heat a visit to the tunnel system underneath (included in the cost of admission to the citadel) is a must.

Perched high on a hill, this historic fortress offers stunning views over the bay and city. Climb the tower for a breathtaking 360° panorama of Pula. Beneath the hill lies a fascinating network of tunnels that connects different parts of the city – a must‑see for history lovers!
Oliviu G — Google review
I like history and I've been to quite a few other fortresses and the design follows other fortress designs because you're trying to defend and required similar designs and systems. The fortress has been disarmed and the museums/displays on site are bright with information and displays but I found some lack.....that is not a bad comment, just a minor con. There has obviously been a lot of work to maintain the integrity of the stone work and that is definitely a pro. Definitely worth the time for a visit. I rate this 4 stars.
Rob S — Google review
Amazing views from the top - panoramic of the whole site - was helpful as my first look of the city to get my bearings. Loved that the ticket also included use of the undercity tunnel network - helpful as it was raining on and off (visited a couple of days ago!)

The Pula Citadel is a peaceful historic site with stunning views of the city and the sea. Entry is €7 per person. You can walk straight into the charming old town. It's full of history, beautiful architecture, and offers a quiet escape from the busy streets below.

Impressive hilltop fortress with stunning views. Kaštel offers a great mix of history and scenery. Built by the Venetians in the 17th century, it now houses a museum and provides panoramic views of Pula and the Adriatic Sea. A must-visit for history lovers and photographers!

On top of a small hill. The winding road is steep at places and there are cars with no footpath to walk. The views are pretty good. There is a entry fee of 7 euro.

Immerse yourself in the rich history and traditions of Istrian olive oil at the Istrian Olive Oil Museum. Located near the Pula Arena, this charming museum offers guided tours, tastings, and a gift shop for visitors to explore. Step back in time as you learn about traditional olive oil production on the Istrian peninsula, from ancient Roman times to modern cultivation practices.
Had a super fun tasting and exploring experience at the Istrian olive oil museum. You get to experience several different types of olive oil - both great products from local places in Istria or more generic to really taste the different between good quality and bad quality. You also stroll through the museum and history of olive oil production.
Mat B — Google review
The museum is best way to experience Istrian olive oil, and teaches you not just about the history but in the green and gold experience also how you can recognize good quality olive oil. The employees were fantastic and very knowledgeable. I recommend the gold experience as you can taste in total 8 olive oils. Because we eat vegan and the dessert is not vegan, we got a discount. You do not have to book the experience before. When you get there, you first pay and then walk through the exhibition on your own. After you are done, you get a presentation and guided tasting. One thing I would improve is to add a section on the effects of the climate crisis on olive oil production. It impacts it a lot now and in the future and when asked, employees could tell a lot a out it.
Florian K — Google review
Enjoyed our visit, we learnt a lot not just about Istrian olive oil, but all olive oil. Well worth paying for the tasting session too
Nickthegog — Google review
An interesting museum if you're interested in gastronomy. The clear explanations and tastings will teach you how to recognize real olive oil. Friendly and hospitable staff complete the experience. We spent about two hours inside. Only go if you're interested.
Marc L — Google review
Highly recommend. Museum was cool but tasting and information given during the tasting was the best part. Learnt a lot and know what to look for to ensure we are getting healthy olive oil back home. Highly recommend tasting. Best part in mid September we had a private tasting without booking.
Bryce P — Google review
We had an amazing time learning about the olive oil and the history of the region. We did a tasting and that was by far an amazing 2 hrs. The food we received and the instructions on how to eat it when the olive oil was by far the favourite activity in Pula. We do it again!
Daniel S — Google review
Excellent museum and great olive oil tasting experience. I visited the museum early morning on Sunday and I had all museum to myself. I’ve purchased the golden ticket which included the olive oil tasting experience. Overall I had a very informative and interesting time. There is a museum shop where you can find amazing quality local olive oil and other beautiful products and souvenirs. The service staff in the museum was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed the audio guide, even though the museum is a bit small. The absolute highlight was the tasting with the Gold Experience. The lady presenting spoke with so much passion and dedication that her enthusiasm was simply contagious ! it turned the whole visit into something truly memorable.

The Gate of Hercules is a remarkable stone archway located between two medieval towers. It features a carving of Hercules' head and club at the top, with inscriptions including the names of Roman officials. This historical site was built by the Romans and also serves as an entrance to the local Italian Community. Nearby, visitors can explore cultural institutions such as the Historical & Maritime Museum of Istria, offering insights into Pula's diverse history.
It stands between two, most probably medieval towers, of simple construction built of uncarved stone blocks. It's the oldest gate in Pula, built around 47-44 BC.
Mat B — Google review
Small but historic. The Hercules Gate is easy to miss, but worth a quick stop. Ancient Roman carvings still visible—great for history lovers!

Wonderful gate, very well preserved. Very beautiful with the illumination at night.
Nélia C — Google review
Cool history, worth routing your walking path on your way to some of the more popular spots in Pula.
John — Google review
It was a very small gate to see. I like ancient sites, so glad I saw it, but wouldn't go out of the way to see it. It was close by. Nice area close by so had dinner and walked across the street to have some ice cream. Overall, nice evening, and it was on the way back to the apartment.
Tom J — Google review
I mean its an old gate with some additional details behind it but thats it. There is a cafe up the stairs that is occasionally turned into a small cinema but even in broad daylight and scorching heat they didn't bother to protect the chairs and tables from the sun so our advice is to go someplace else for a drink.
Dušan P — Google review
The historical plaque is on the inside of the gate, making it hard to find, but still very picturesque.

Not impressive at all. This is just on ordinary gate. You will rather notice the museum behind than this gate.

The Roman Theater in Pula is a well-preserved amphitheater and museum that hosts various events today. Situated on the northeastern slopes of the city's central hill, it stands as evidence of Pula's cultural development during Roman times. The theater could accommodate around 5,000 people and was divided into sections for actors, orchestra, and audience. Additionally, there are remains of two other theaters from the Roman period in Pula.
The Small Roman Theatre, dating from the 1st century AD, is nestled on the eastern slope beneath the Pula Citadel. Though much smaller than the Arena, with a capacity of about 4,000–5,000 spectators, it was the cultural heart of Roman Pula, hosting dramatic performances and recitations. While only parts of the stage and the semicircular seating area remain, the site offers a tangible connection to everyday Roman life and the city’s artistic traditions. Its location within the city and proximity to other landmarks make it an evocative stop for history enthusiasts, even if it is not as visually intact as the Arena. The ongoing archaeological work adds a sense of discovery to any visit.
Goran — Google review
Nice stopover and off peak allows better photos. Not as comprehensive as Rome’s but without the touristy but. And lovely to see the intact walls, small museum about its olive and wine production
Rina H — Google review
Really not much to be seen here, just an outdoor amphitheatre that's typically empty otherwise; the route here appears a bit difficult, seems like you're walking on private property inbetween buildings.
Mat B — Google review
Concert I attended was great but I can't believe that you have to sit on bare metal. Setting is ok, but because most of the amphitheatre is covered by metal stands a lot of original feel is lost.
Jadran B — Google review
Not much to see here. If you've been to the one in Rome then you don't need to see this one. The inside has been turned into some sort of venue for live concerts or something with rows and rows of modern chairs and a big screen in the middle, which really detracted from the whole experience. Look at my picture and you'll see why.
Ray N — Google review
Incredible Pula Arena, we take photos at here around 1.5 hr. There’s very nearby parking space for visitors.
REX W — Google review
Awesome venue for concerts. It's best to bring your own seat cushion or pillow for comfort!

I love history and this site should be made a world heritage site. Unfortunately, it is a meeting place for the youth of Pula at night. Graffiti has been sprayed on this amazing reminder of the Romans. I hope the government of Croatia and Pula take this site and restore it and ensure that it gets the attention it deserves.

The MEMO Museum, which showcases artifacts from the 1950s to the 1980s, offers interactive exhibits that provide a glimpse into Pula's past during this era. Whether you're seeking nostalgia or simply looking for indoor activities on a rainy day, this museum appeals to all visitors. The impressive edifice also allows visitors to transport themselves back to the time of the Roman Empire. Pula's iconic amphitheater or coliseum serves as a prominent symbol and hosts numerous events.
Absolutely amazing little private museum. We had great time remember our childhood in seventies and eighties and showing our kids our bikes and our records and our first computers. Little Fića (Fiat 500) is still dominating entrance. The Beatles Red album playing on famous Tosca record player. With 5 dinars coin pressing on needle. This is private collection. Lot os stuff belongs to people keeping door open. And they are just wonderful people. We spend probably half of the visit chating, asking our kids what they think exhibits where used for, and generally having lively conversation with them. Turned out pictures on the wall belongs to owners. Staring with black and white family photos becoming Titos pionir, school pictures and so on. Same pics as we have of ourselves. I mentioned.that my grandad and family used to live in Pula on late forties and all 3 people from museum helped locating building where they lived asking for my family name and history. And on the end we where send off with very detailed description of House we where looking for and bunch of gifts they print on printing press which is also exhibited in museum. And with big smiles.on pur faces. If you have half an hour spare do pay them a visit. Say hi and show interest and I am sure someone will show you around and share present conversation. Live them some donation as well. This little gem surely deserves to stay open and people keeping it are making pretty good effort to have it on. My dears, thank you very much for wonderful time and for your pleasant and warm company. We will see you again every time we visit Pula. Take care
Srdjan L — Google review
Nice little medium, unfortunately it’s too little to be great. We love a little bit of nostalgia tourism, and really enjoyed this museum. However, the whole exhibit is only five small rooms, so while they pack a lot of items into the space it’s really a matter of 10 to 20 minutes before you’ve seen everything there is. Little bit of a cleaning for the exhibit, as well as pumping up the tires in the car and a bike, would go along way into making it nicer as well.
Krzysztof W — Google review
Incorrect working hours are posted on both the official website and Google. The Memo Museum has also changed 80% of its exhibition to focus on printing and letterpress, yet it still uses the same name, old photos, and outdated articles on its website and many tourists websites. We were aware that there were some changes made, but did not expect to see most of the old exhibition gone. Instead of the former Yugoslav-style apartment, most of the museum now consists of old printing machines. It’s not worth the 5-euro ticket—we spent less than 10 minutes inside.
Sanja P — Google review
Very interesting museum if you are nostalgic person. We spend half hour inside. You can try and touch things. You can feel life from the past.
Dejan P — Google review
We adored this little museum as we could compare our childhood experience with one in a different country. Plenty to see and some exhibits could be handled. We could also take our dog, which was a definite bonus! Tickets were not expensive. Very enjoyable!
Pam G — Google review
If you were born in 1970 - 1980 and you would like to remind, how it looked like in your home, just go and visit this museum. There is lot of stuff, which was used in those years and in fact, comparing to today, the life is much easier, but quicker. This museum is located on the way from Amfitheater to the city centrum, so you should not miss it with your mobile navigation. It is worth to visit.
Marian C — Google review
The museum is small, but there are plenty items you can admire or pick up and "play with" . We popped in on a cloudy day and weren't disappointed. Great for taking interesting photos as you interact with items from the past.

Fort Ovine is a captivating destination that invites adventurers to delve into its intriguing ruins. Accessible by car, this historic site features an entrance leading to a series of rooms and tunnels, including a dark, slightly slippery passageway reminiscent of catacombs. While some areas have been repurposed in ways that may surprise visitors, the fort's charm lies in its eerie atmosphere and the opportunity for exploration.
It was a small ruin with an entrance, a hallway, some rooms and a tunnel to a small katacomb. The dark tunnel which looks like the entrance of a katacomb has a slight slope and is slippery. Unfortunately some of the rooms were used as toilets - no understanding for that... The parking lots are kind off in front of fort and very busy. So make shure to plan your visit in the morning.

This is a pretty cool fort, you can explore lots of rooms but there’s nothing really of interest to see. You can walk down a couple of tunnels which go to other rooms but that’s about it. Still pretty funky so I’ll give it 5*

Verudela Canyon, situated at the end of Verudela Peninsula, is a picturesque and popular tourist attraction. This charming narrow cove can be accessed through a challenging trail that winds down high and rocky cliffs. The canyon boasts stunning turquoise water that adds to its allure. Visitors are advised to exercise caution while descending the slippery path to reach the water's edge. Alternatively, one can enjoy a leisurely stroll along nearby cliffs for breathtaking views of the sea.
This fascinating canyon is the result of thousands of years of erosion. With its steep rock faces and unique cave character, Verudela Canyon delights locals and tourists alike. You can easily explore the cave and enjoy the spectacular views of the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. Just be careful, there aren't any built in steps - it's rather rocks, soil, and mud.

First of all, be fully aware that this spot requires your full concentration when going down the canyon. It’s not a walk through a grocery store. There’s no way you should go there if you’re drunk or if the sun has already set. If you follow these rules, you’ll be rewarded with an unforgettable time in the coolest spot in Pula. We really enjoyed today!!! Its just ashame cause i feel sick afterwards. Cause im so sensitive in movements. But my son and husband really enjoyed it. My son was scared at first, but the staff named Andrea, was very helpful, patient, friendly and he encouraged my son all the way through. He never leave him on his own. There's only 2 staff there, but i forgot the name of the other staff. But they were all friendly. We're lucky today cause there's not a lot of people. Service was very fantastic. I would highly recommend it!!!

Daniel M — Google review
I hate to say it, but it was really bad. In many ways bad. Barely anything (quantity) and the quality was also equal that to a university showing. Super long explanations for why the works are included (basically explaining why this museum should even exist) that seemed sort of pathetic - either the artwork works or doesn't... Give me some context before entering the room and then the title and artist per piece... Also Poorly translated. I really cannot imagine this is the cream of crop in terms of Istrian art! I'm sure there is more out there, more artists needing and wanting a place to be displayed and taken seriously. This really seemed like the work of a hobby curator. And for that it should have been free because a serious price means serious curation. I would like to support Istrian contemporary art, but this didn't seem like the right way to do so. And I also didn't learn anything new.
